Cathedral
Church
Nestled in the heart of Bristol, Bristol Cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic architecture with roots tracing back to the 12th century. Originally founded as an abbey, it transformed into the seat of the Bishop of Bristol following the dissolution of monasteries in the 1500s. This remarkable structure features a unique hall church design where its nave, aisles, and choir share equal height, creating an impressive visual experience.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bristol Cathedral today, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the grandeur and serene atmosphere of the cathedral. Bristol Cathedral's stunning Gothic architecture left me in awe. The intricate details of the stained glass windows, the towering arches, and the beautifully crafted stonework perfectly showcased the cathedral's rich history and spiritual significance. Walking through its vast nave and observing the play of light filtering through the colorful windows was truly mesmerizing. Although I could spend hours describing its beauty, what struck me the most was the peaceful ambiance, which provided a perfect space for reflection and admiration of the artistry that has stood the test of time. I highly recommend a visit to Bristol Cathedral to anyone who appreciates history, architecture, and serene environments. It’s definitely a must-see landmark when in Bristol.

Beautiful Cathedral in Bristol. Free entry with a suggested donation of £5.00. Stunning inside with lots of interesting things to see, lots of information provided about the history. Beautiful glass windows and places of quiet reflection. Staff are welcoming and friendly and will answer any questions. Toilets and cafe availible on site and a lovely little garden with benches.
Beth H — Google review
Bristol Cathedral is a stunning blend of history, architecture, and serenity right on College Green. The architecture is stunning, especially the tall vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows. Admission is free, and guided tours are available for those interested in delving deeper into its rich history. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, architecture lover, or seeking a quiet retreat, Bristol Cathedral is a must-visit.
Yaprak ( — Google review
The church is quite beautiful. While the majority of its current structure dates back to the Victorian era, its origins are significantly older. The gentleman stationed at the entrance was exceptionally kind and welcoming.
Robert T — Google review
Really beautiful cathedral and plenty for visitors to explore. There is so much history for one to explore. For free entrance fee, this cathedral is really a must see in Bristol.

My cousin and I visited this place as I wanted to see it. It is very beautiful inside and out. There was a group rehearsing music for an Evensong Service which was enjoyable to listen to. There was also a display about slavery which was quite informative.
Charmian C — Google review
Highly recommended to visit. The staff are great, the cafe is awesome and the exhibition was informative. There are some beautiful places in the Cathedral to reflect and to be still.. just outside the cafe is a small garden.. beautiful.. Highly recommended to visit..

St Mary Redcliffe Church is a stunning 15th-century landmark that stands as a testament to Bristol's rich architectural heritage. Renowned for its impressive Perpendicular Gothic design, this church has survived the ravages of time and war, making it one of England's most celebrated parish churches. Originally built in the 13th century and later renovated, it features exquisite details such as slender clustered pillars and intricate vaulting that reflect the prosperity of Bristol’s merchants.
An amazing well maintained church, free entry. So many beautiful stained glass windows on every side. The organist was playing while I was there which showed off the amazing acoustics. Well worth a visit, make a donation after your visit.

This is a beautiful church, I had a good nosy around, and in the cellar if you go down the steps, you'll find a new cafe selling authentic homemade Chilean food, coffees and cakes. You won't be able to miss it because you'll do what I did and follow your nose, it smells divine! The beef empanada was beautiful, and it was so lovely to sit in the warmth and take in the surroundings. Really finished off my trip nicely.
Risemoor S — Google review
A gorgeous place to visit, with lots of information about the history of the church and its attendants on boards around the building. The stained glass windows in particular are absolutely stunning. It’s free to enter, so do make a donation or buy something from the shop if you’re able to.

ST MARY REDCLIFFE, BRISTOL. This large church is often called the city's second cathedral, and though it immediately appears high Victorian gothic, its origins lie in the 14th century. The north porch is famed for its sculptures, 19th century on the outside and ancient within, including many showing a range of strange beasts, and it also has a 15th century roof. It was in a room above this roof that the story of Thomas Chatterton, the legendary but well-meaning forger, began when he found a chest full of antique manuscripts and decided to create some of his own, including new examples of Shakespeare. The church is full of memorials of all kinds, from simple slabs bearing tools of the deceased's trade to elaborate tombs with painted effigies. It is clear that Elizabeth I was much respected here, and her effigy, now fixed in an unusual stance on a wall atop a narrow base, is almost startling in appearance. The various restorations over the years have resulted in a huge number of antique pieces of sculpture arranged along the inner walls for the visitor to make a close study.

A beautiful church and apparently the favourite of Queen Elizabeth I. Links to the foundation of the USA and retain the armour of admiral William Penn. Links to Bristols place in seafaring history including the slave trade where those sold into bondage by their own people where trafficked.

Episcopal church
The church of St Stephens is a relatively new building, built in the 14th century on the site of an 11th century church. It has been extensively renovated and restored in recent years, and its architecture reflects both the Gothic and Renaissance periods. The church hosts regular music and arts events, as well as an on-site cafe open for lunch.
In the Bristol Festival Of Lights, the Church was a stand out location on dark winter’s nights back-lit by stars and with some gentle lighting effects via a glitterball. It was definitely the star of this year’s Festival with the crowd almost picking up a reverent hush watching it. Well worth a visit before it ends

St Stephen's Church is a quiet corner of peace and history in the midst of Bristol's bustling city centre. The church impresses with its elegant late Gothic architecture and warm, welcoming atmosphere inside. The stained glass windows, old memorial plaques and organ create a special mood - you want to linger, be quiet and simply savour the moment. The church often hosts musical events, exhibitions and charity events, making it a lively centre of city life. A great place to take a break from the hustle and bustle and touch history.

Church of Christ
Christ Church with St Ewen, Bristol is a beautiful and spiritual place to visit. The interior is exquisitely decorated and features a splendid pipe organ, making it one of the most popular churches in Bristol. The music ministry is excellent, and the preaching is reliable. The Liturgy is still celebrated according to the 1662 prayer book, which adds an extra layer of beauty to the experience. All in all, Christ Church with St Ewen should be on every tourist's list.
I really cannot comprehend the negative reviews left for Christ Church. Two stars? Seriously? It is one of the most beautiful historical buildings of Bristol, it houses a wonderful-sounding pipe organ, with its earliest pipework dating back to Renatus Harris, the interior is exquisite and features wonderful acoustics, the music ministry is top-notch, the preaching is solid, and the Liturgy is still celebrated according to the 1662 prayer book. Overall, a wonderful place to be, and highly recommended for recitals and concerts.

Christ Church with St Ewen is a historic Anglican church located on Broad Street in Bristol, England. It has a rich history and is known for its distinctive Georgian architecture and unique clock tower. History & Architecture Medieval Origins: The original Christ Church dates back to the 13th century and was an important part of Bristol’s religious and civic life. Reconstruction: The current church was rebuilt between 1786 and 1791 by the architect William Paty, in the Georgian style. Merger with St Ewen: In 1790, Christ Church was combined with St Ewen’s Church, which was then demolished. This led to the full name "Christ Church with St Ewen." Clock Tower: The church's clock is a well-known feature. While historically it had only one hand, today it has been updated to have two hands. Modern Use & Community The church remains an active place of worship, offering regular services following the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. It is involved in community outreach and maintains a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and worshippers. Interesting Facts The church stands at the entrance of Corn Street, one of Bristol’s historic trading streets. Its tower and spire are notable landmarks in the city’s skyline. The church is valued not only for its religious significance but also for its contribution to Bristol’s architectural heritage.
Yarys — Google review
Delightfully eclectic mix of parishioners. A diverse group drawn together for the love of the Christian gospel so beautifully articulated in the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. All worship, both choral eucharistic and evensong is conducted with Thomas Cranmer's liturgical masterpiece. Bill Bryson would have a field day writing on the resident characters. The gentle minister desperate to see the church flourish as a community of believers. An eccentric gathering of retiring civic notables joined in the pews by surprisingly youthful men and women, alongside mums and dad's young choir members. It is a quinitsentially English experience. There's the gruff, the chatty and the shy. Due to years of falling income (Millenium grant essential) the place is shabby, and yet all the focus is on raising a mint to restore figures (quarterjacks) that ring the bells that tell the time. It's a joy to be a part, for you really couldn't make it up.

St Paul's Church is a stunningly beautiful and inclusive place of worship that welcomes people from diverse backgrounds. The congregation includes individuals of various ages, marital statuses, sexual orientations, employment statuses, and cultural and ethnic origins. The church offers thoughtful and progressive preaching and theology in a safe environment for those on their faith journey. Visitors can enjoy the fine choral music provided by the University Church Choir during Sunday Anglican worship services.
This church has an amazing collection of Opus Sectile glass mosaic panels. Made by Powells of London in the early 20th century who were copying the Opus Sectile of Venice and Italian craftsmen. You won't find such a good collection of these under one roof elsewhere.

John Wesley's New Room is a remarkable historical site, recognized as the oldest Methodist chapel globally. Nestled amidst the bustling High Street shops in Broadmead, this sanctuary stands as a testament to resilience, having survived the Blitz. Its simple yet serene architecture offers a peaceful retreat from the urban hustle and bustle.
A really nice cafe recently built in what used to be an outside area. Extremely freindly staff the prices are very good too amazing coffee aswell about half the price of the well known ones. Excellent disabled access to most areas. A very historical Church well worth a look, the history of the place makes it feel very welcoming, if Church isn't your thing don't worry from what I experienced they treat everyone with respect no matter what. They were playing Taylor Swift in the cafe not what I expected at all it was great. So if you are in Broadmead then its a great find.

Interesting insight into Methodist history, worth an hour of your time in Bristol and if other events like a choir rehearsal are happening so much the better. 4 stars because I am interested in church history and even I accept it's not Alton Towers for the kids!

What an incredible visit to the John Wesley Museum! So powerful to walk through the history and realise just how far the Methodist movement has come. The space is beautifully preserved and really brings his story to life. It’s interactive, thoughtful, and actually great for kids too a brilliant way to engage all ages in such a meaningful legacy. Truly inspiring.

A fantastic museum looking at the life of John Wesley and the start of Methodism. They also have some great bits for kids which really kept our children engaged. Well worth a visit.
Steven H — Google review
We visited the John Wesley Museum in Bristol on a Friday with our Sunday School children and their families, and it was a truly inspiring experience. John Wesley, such a powerful missionary in the UK, has left behind a rich legacy that continues to encourage both young and old. Our Sunday School lessons often focus on missionaries, so this trip brought the stories to life in a wonderful way. The children were especially excited to explore the exhibits—reading about natural remedies used in those times, seeing pictures from the old era, and learning more about John Wesley’s family. Parents were equally inspired, finding it both educational and spiritually uplifting. This museum beautifully preserves the old Christian heritage and culture of Britain. I am not a Methodist but came away with increased respect for the Methodist religion after visiting the church and museum. The displays in the museum do an excellent job of explaining who John Wesley was and his contribution to establishing what became known as the Methodist religion.

This is a delightful quiet haven in the the middle of Broadmead- on summer days they use a long paved tree shaded area out the back where you can have your coffee in the sunshine- staff delightful and the food and coffee excellent. Do give it a try!

Charity
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Bristol, St Werburghs City Farm has been a cherished community hub since the 1980s. This small charity farm not only provides a unique glimpse into rural life but also plays a vital role in supporting local residents through adult volunteering and specialized training programs in horticulture and animal care for those with learning difficulties or mental health challenges.
You can pet and feed the sheep and goats easily. They have groups for adults with additional needs and children's clubs. They do lots of community programs, and you can rent spaces for parties. Great cafe and a pub across the street, too. They also sell farm-reared meat and fresh eggs. Lovely bit of outdoor space.

A lovely hidden gem in the heart of the city! The City Farm is a peaceful, welcoming space that offers a refreshing break from the urban hustle. It’s completely free to enter and you can get up close with a variety of friendly animals. There’s a cozy little café on-site. They also sell plants and products, so you can support the farm while picking up something special.

Great charity. I've brought the kids here many times over the years. Today it was just me having a walk around, very peaceful place.

I’ve never been here before although being in Bristol for over ten years, a really relaxing day out for two young kids. Animal farm was amazing for a first hand experience petting animals had the kids going crazy! After so much excitement we popped over the street to try out the farm cafe. I’ve ordered some coffee hash breakfast, beans on toast and hot chocolates for everyone. Food quantity and quality is worth the money, you could taste the freshness of the carefully procured ingredients. 5*out of of 5*

What a wonderful place. St Werburgh’s City Farm is the sort of place that makes you stop and think—think about life, about community, about the sheer, unadulterated joy of doing something useful with your hands instead of hammering away at KPIs and ROI projections that will ultimately mean nothing when you’re worm food. We came here today as part of a work volunteering scheme. And this is, quite honestly, one of the best days of the year for me. Our host for the day was the utterly brilliant Alex, the farm’s site manager. You meet a lot of people in life, and some of them just get it. Alex gets it. He has the rare ability to be both welcoming and efficient, gently herding our corporate rabble into something resembling a useful workforce without once making us feel like we were in the way (which, let’s be honest, we probably were). We dug holes. We built fences. We did some plumbing. We even built benches. But more than anything, we took time out of our lives to be in nature, to be with people, to be part of something real. Because that’s what this farm is: something real. It’s for the community, run by the community, benefitting the community. It reminds us that life isn’t about boardrooms or spreadsheets, but about connection, about getting your hands dirty and actually doing something. If you get the chance to visit, go. If you get the chance to volunteer, definitely go. You’ll do yourself some good. You’ll do the community some good. And, in the end, that’s what life is really about.

Temple Church, located in the Redcliffe neighborhood of Bristol, is a historic site that has survived through centuries and even a World War II bombing. Originally built as a round temple by the Knights Templar in the 12th century, it was later reconstructed into a rectangular church in the 14th century. Despite being largely destroyed during WWII, its remains are now a Grade II listed site and attract numerous tourists.
Temple Church in Bristol is one of those buildings that just makes you stop and stare. The architecture is unreal. You can tell it was built in a time when people actually cared about making things beautiful, solid and meaningful. The detail in the stonework, the way it’s put together, it’s just on another level compared to the plain boxes we throw up today and call buildings. The crazy thing is it was made in the 11th century and it’s still standing. That’s a serious flex. Most modern stuff struggles to last a few decades before it starts falling apart but this place has survived wars, weather and everything in between. Walking around it you just get this feeling that we as human beings have devolved when it comes to designing buildings. They built art back then, now we build car parks with windows. It’s a proper reminder of what real craftsmanship looks like and why places like this need to be looked after.
Ayyub C — Google review
Visited during the Bristol Light Festival and the light show inside made this historic landmark (bombed in the war, no roof and a leaning tower) look amazing. A really good experience and even though busy was fine.
Pete L — Google review
Ruins of an old church next to a shady park. Some parts are roped off, but you can still see most of the church and an outline of the original circular church. Great place to relax with your family and learn about the Knights Templar and the Bristol Blitz. Accessible through the front entrance. Free entry, free parking, child friendly and dog friendly.
Meredith P — Google review
An incredible location that stands as an example of the devastation of war. And yet despite this, it still stands proudly - despite slumping slightly to the side! It was a great experience being able to stand in the grounds of the church ruins during the Bristol Light Festival. The use of this church during activities like this is truly great.

What’s left of the church is cool, it’s got a weird lean to it. Homeless living inside it in tents and homeless in all the gardens, few drug addicts inside when we went too.

Beautiful heritage sight, ruined church. This place is very close to temple meads station. A small garden is connected to this old, non operational church. There is no roof to this structure. If you like to see old ,ruined archaeological structures, this is a place to visit.

Clifton Cathedral, officially known as the Roman Catholic Cathedral Church of SS Peter and Paul, is a stunning example of modernist architecture that stands out in Bristol's skyline. Completed in 1973, this unique hexagonal structure boasts an interior that feels almost otherworldly, with light pouring through its innovative design. Located adjacent to Clifton Park and just a half-hour stroll from the city center, it offers not only spiritual solace but also breathtaking views.
An incredible piece of brutalist architecture in the centre of leafy Clifton. The spire that sits on top of the lantern tower can be seen from across Bristol. However the outside (which isn’t that great to be honest) doesn’t really prepare you for what’s inside. Oceans of poured in-situ concrete forming a huge hexagon around the altar. Light flooding down from roof lights. Shattered pieces of coloured glass making up horizontal bands of light. Icons floating on walls of concrete. Stations of the cross carved as the concrete set. It’s got it all and I love it.
Andy R — Google review
Whilst in Bristol, Clifton Cathedral is this named because at the time of the restoration of the Catholic hierarchy after the reformation it was and still is unlawful for the Catholic Church to name a diocese after a pre existing Anglican diocese. Thus Clifton. The cathedral is from the early 1970s and thus similar to architecture of the time quite brutal and concrete winning a concrete award in 1973. The building is light and each seat has a clear line of sight to the Cathdra. The garden has a memorial to the polish katayn massacre committed by the Red Army in 1940s but credited to the Nazis of killing the Polish officer corp and others.
Christopher K — Google review
It's not much to look at from the outside, but inside its a peaceful, sparsely decorated place of worship. Light and airy and simply colour coordinated concrete, wood and ceramic floor tiles. The stained glass windows are offset and all seats have a good view to the altar. I visited with my wife and we remembered our dad's with the lighting of a candle
Will M — Google review
Great location in a quiet street with beautiful houses around it. The shape of the building is very remarkable and is seen from far away. The greenery around the cathedral is very pleasing to the eyes. The atmosphere of the place is calming and relaxing.

I visit when in the Bristol Clifton area. The location is peaceful, the building unique, similar I'm told to Liverpool cathedral. Built in the 70s. Inside one finds space, peace, quiet, and a place for reflection. The stained glass is beautiful. On Sundays at 11 a.m the Mass is sung with full choir.

Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Clifton, the Church of All Saints stands as a remarkable testament to resilience and community spirit. Originally built in a Victorian style, this 800-seat Catholic church was meticulously rebuilt after suffering extensive damage during the Bristol Blitz in World War II. The modernist extension added in the 1960s by architect Robert Potter harmoniously blends with its historical roots, creating an intriguing juxtaposition of old and new.

The protestant church St Nicholas is a modern, attractive building that welcomes people of all faiths. The church was rebuilt in 1974-1975 after it was bombed during the Second World War. The museum closed in 2007, but it has since reopened as an Anglican place of worship in the Diocese of Bristol.
I recently attended a baptism at St Nicholas' church and the welcome I got as a non-church-regular was so warm and friendly. There were volunteers who were happy to show us round the (astounding) historic features, and Karen the vicar came to speak to us afterwards. My favourite bit was filling the baptismal font from the kettle at the start of the ceremony so that by the time our friend got baptised, the water was pleasantly warm!

St Nicholas Church, Bristol St Nicholas Church is a historic church located on Baldwin Street, near Bristol Bridge. Although it no longer functions as a regular place of worship, it has a fascinating history tied to Bristol’s trade, war damage, and later repurposing. History & Architecture Origins: The original church was built in the 12th century over one of the city’s medieval gates. Reconstruction: It was rebuilt in 1762–1769 after collapsing due to structural issues. War Damage: The church was severely damaged in the Bristol Blitz (1940) during WWII, leaving it partially ruined. Restoration & Repurposing: In 1970, the church was restored and turned into St Nicholas Church Museum, housing religious artifacts, including statues from Bristol’s destroyed churches. In 2018, it was reconsecrated as a place of worship and became home to a new congregation. Notable Features Statues & Artifacts: It once displayed religious statues, including one of Queen Elizabeth I from the 16th century. Undercroft (Crypt): Parts of the medieval structure, including the crypt, still survive beneath the church. Connection to Bristol Bridge: The church’s location made it significant in the city’s trade and development.

The Church of St Thomas the Martyr is truly remarkable from its exterior, yet inviting and cozy inside. The warm reception received and the church's informative guide leaflet were both welcoming and educational, without ever coming across as condescending. Notable features include the charming low-box pews and magnificent stained glass windows. Its prominence was evident from a hotel room, becoming a captivating sight to behold each morning.
Lovely historic church which is being maintained by the church charity, while I'm not personally religious I would highly recommend visiting as the architecture it breathtaking. Very elegant and steeped in history. It doesn't take long to walk around but definitely worth it. Recommend to sign their visitor book as it helps with their funding to restore church's which otherwise would be abandoned.

St Thomas the Martyr is a former Church of England parish church on St Thomas Street in the Redcliffe district of the English port city of Bristol. It has a 14th-century tower, but the nave was rebuilt 1791–93 by James Allen. A substantial reordering was carried out by William Venn Gough between 1878 and 1880, and the top of the tower was remodeled with spirelet, pinnacles, and pierced parapet by Gough in 1896–97. Four paintings for the reredos were commissioned from the German artist Fritz von Kamptz in 1906, and are now housed in the south aisle. Although the church survived the "Bristol Blitz" of the Second World War, the congregation declined after the war and the church was finally declared redundant. It is in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust, having been vested in the Trust on 17 February 1988. Engraving of St Thomas the Martyr church, published c.1838. The view shows the 18th-century body of the church on the left of the image and the medieval tower in the centre. In front of the church can be seen the graveyard with standing gravestones. In the background can be seen the buildings of the St Thomas Livestock Market, now mostly demolished except the Wool Hall which has been regenerated into a cult music venue called The Fleece. The organ was built by John Harris in 1729, and attracted the admiration of Handel. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.

The Greek Orthodox Church of St Peter & St Paul in Bristol is a hidden gem that beautifully combines history and community spirit. Once boarded up after being made redundant in 1988, it found new life when the Churches Conservation Trust took over in 2000. The church boasts stunning icons and offers a serene atmosphere perfect for worship or reflection. Visitors often remark on the warm welcome they receive from its diverse congregation, led by a humble priest who fosters an inclusive environment.
We held both our father's nine-night celebration and his funeral wake at the hall. The large kitchen was perfect for our caterer, and the venue provided different sizes of tables and chairs. Sophie, the event officer, was incredibly helpful and easy to work with throughout the process. We would highly recommend this venue for a medium-sized event of up to 200+ people. The car park is also a reasonable size for the venue.

St. Patrick's Catholic Church is a captivating blend of history and artistry, nestled in the heart of Castle Park. Originally established in 1933, it was rebuilt in 1998 to accommodate its growing congregation and now features stunning artwork that enchants visitors. The interior showcases breathtaking mosaics and intricate wall paintings, including the coronation of the Virgin Mary as Queen of Heaven, all complemented by beautiful stained glass windows that create a magical atmosphere when illuminated by sunlight.
It's a very beautiful church! I loved the artwork inside. The one I loved the most are the mosaics. Absolutely stunning! I was told the celling design was painted freehand! There are 6 big wall paintings. My favorites are the coronation of the virgin Mary as Queen of Heaven, and virgin Mary performing her first miracle. Both these paintings have a lot of detailing and looks beautiful! And you could see some great stained glass windows, which should be an amazing view in the optimal lighting conditions. Sorry I couldn't capture many pictures as there were people inside. Church choir was awesome. Next time I visit Bristol, I would love to visit this church again.

The house of God. Beautiful church. Great singers, and a marvellous Father. In here, there's special care for the children, in a way they really participate in the celebration. Moreover, there's a catholic church just besides the church. Nice place, and friendly neighbourhood. Thanks be to God.

Went here for a wedding. Looks like a nice place, quite traditional in the Catholic style and not very ornate. The preacher seems like a very nice man as well, and his preaching style is bearable even for someone who definitely isn't on the religious train.

Holy Trinity is a fine example of Victorian Gothic architecture in the Decorated style. It was built of Pennant stone quarried locally at Broom Hill. Coupled buttresses at its angles rise boldly in five stages to the rich parapet and are capped with crocketted pinnacles. These flank the spire whose eight angles are ornamented with crockets carved in Bath stone bands, the general facing being of Pennant stone in courses. A large metal cross surmounts the finial of the spire upon which you will sometimes see peregrine falcons looking for their next meal. Inside there are a number of beautiful stained glass windows and historically interesting items including a 1000 year old font with marks showing where the hinges and lock were fitted for the font cover, necessary to prevent the superstitious use of the consecrated water. There has been a church on this site for at least 500 years. The original dedication was to St Giles, but between 1691 and 1720 the old church was demolished and a new one, dedicated to the Holy Trinity, erected in its place. In 1854 the Bishop of Gloucester and Bristol, Bishop Monk, whose official residence was what is now Colston’s School, offered to rebuild the church at his own cost, desiring 'my fellow parishioners to understand that my motives in this work are to remove the source of dispute and contention for pews, caused by the inadequate size of the church, and to provide sittings for the poor as well as other classes of Parishioners.

Didn't realy know what to expect and found my self getting worried about sleeping into a big church rather than coming from a small church but I found the church to be extremely welcoming very sprite lead and good worship as well. Spirit of Life Reformed Baptist Church in Bristol is a place where visitors can find solid doctrine and warm worship. Led by Pastor Dia Moodley, the congregation is known for its deep faith, obedience, and commitment to the authority of the Word of God. The church offers biblically faithful teaching in a multicultural setting. With Sunday Bible study and a main service that emphasizes spiritual growth, it's recommended for anyone on their journey seeking high-standard preaching and inspired teaching.
I was blessed to attend a Wednesday evening Bible Study at Spirit of Life Reformed Baptist Church whilst travelling away from my home town recently. The Gospel was proclaimed and the Bible section studied that night was strongly exposited. The congregation seemed harmonious behind the leadership there. Pastor Moodley took the time to talk to me (as a visitor) which was very welcoming. If you’re seeking a Bible believing church to worship and to grow your faith at, I would give not hesitate to recommend. God bless.

My wife and I were blessed to worship with Christ's church thousands of miles from our home. Everyone at the Spirit of Life Reformed Baptist Church of Bristol was very welcoming and the preaching was edifying. Pastor Dia was expositorily preaching through Genesis and preached a Gospel message from the first part of chapter 45. We also attended the catechism class before the service (Westminster Shorter Catechism) and the evening service at which we corporately prayed and heard a guest preacher. If we ever find our way back to Bristol, we will be sure to worship here again.
Christopher L — Google review
We had the privilege of meeting with this wonderful church family during our brief stay in the Bristol area. It was a massive blessing to our entire family - to hear God’s Word revered, celebrated, and faithfully preached, to lift our voices in biblical worship, and to pray together in the unity of the Holy Spirit - to do this with such a vibrant body of believers in another country was a memory we will treasure forever. We hope to return in the future, but if you happen to live in this area, visit this church! Soli Deo Gloria.

If you visit Bristol and seek sound doctrine and worship, Spirit of Life Reformed Baptist church is the only church to attend. Pastor Dia Moodley and his congregation will warmly welcome you with open arms. I have never felt such love in the Spirit of Christ. We have travelled from Scotland to Bristol on a few occasions and this Reformed Baptist congregation are unique. They are distinguished by their deep faith, obedience and conviction regarding the authority of the Word of God. These wonderful Christian brothers and sisters' belief are an inspiration as they are enthusing and proclaiming the infallibility of the Word of God. Days of Heaven upon earth when my family met up with Dia Moodley and his whole family that is his congregation.

This church believes in the 5 solas and the doctrines of grace which is the central truth of the scripture and without which the Gospel is lost, I’m glad I can visit this church and be a part of it. Personally, Ogi and Andrea have been such great hosts and always helped me and made me feel at home. Love, Divyani Mahapure

We recently visited this Church in Bristol, and were warmly welcomed by Pastor Dia and the congregation. The word of God was read publicly, and a message regarding living a life of holiness unto the Lord was proclaimed by a visiting preacher. If you are visiting Bristol you will be made welcome. May God continue to bless this congregation as they seek to honour the word of God. Paul.

This is a biblically faithful Reformed Baptist congregation. It's a small band of multicultural faithful believers. The word of God is taught expositionally with great clarity. There is a Lords day (sunday) bible study at 09.30 for half an hour, this is followed by a 30 minute break for tea, coffee and fellowship. The main service begins at 10.30 and is 2 hours in total length, finishing at 12.30pm. The worship songs are not modern but rather faithful strong hymns that focus on God and not on us, as some songs do these days.. The Lords supper is always served and there are corporate prayers and the public reading of Gods word. There is then a second service beginning at 6pm on the Sunday evening. Ive never encountered teaching of the calibre given at this little congregation. If you love the Lord and his word, I am sure you will be blessed if you visited here, do be aware though, this church and the teaching is not for having your ears tickled, God's word will challenge and search you out here.

St. Michael & All Angels Church is a vibrant community hub that goes beyond traditional worship, actively engaging with marginalized groups and offering various services to the local population. The church boasts a spacious interior filled with natural light, creating an inviting atmosphere for all who enter. With a friendly vicar at the helm and a welcoming team, visitors quickly feel at home. Additionally, St.
I've been involved with this church before and they have done a lot of good work with the marginalised. They offer services (not just church services) to the community too, by using the building effectively. Sorry to say NORMAN DATE if you believe that is his name, must be one of the few people who doesn't understand IT even if they use it. Websites didn't even exist in the 1950s, so how ignorant is that. Judging by the CHILDISH response by poking fun at the Vicar's name, I don't see why his 1* should define the rating for this church. Sorry to say NORMAN DATE it's just as well you only have 4 postings as you have nothing of value to say. Living next door doesn't qualify you to comment if it's just an excuse to rant because you have a grudge.

Spacious, well heated, with lots of natural light and a very friendly vicar. There's a weekly toddler playgroup there, too.

Like most churches still stuck in the 1950`s as regards IT. Whether it is still relevent is open to question. Vicars name DOURKS (No comment) I live near the church so this comment is gleaned from my experiences over a long period. It would be nice to actually have the current vicars name on the website (Or am I missing someing?)

Explore Birdcage Walk, a serene cemetery located in Clifton Village and the only remnants of the ancient St Andrews Church, constructed in the 12th century but tragically destroyed during the Bristol Blitz. This enchanting trail is adorned with magnificent trees that create a picturesque canopy overhead. As you stroll along its well-preserved pathway, informative signs offer insights into the historical significance of this hallowed ground and pay homage to some of its interred individuals.
I met my niece here, as she is staying in nearby student accommodation, and it was such a pleasure to visit this well-maintained park/garden on a sunny spring day. The information boards were welcoming and gave us insight into the history of this little place, tucked away behind stone walls, and reflecting the origins of what was once a churchyard. I loved the fact that the headstones and memorials were still in situ, and the outline of the church is shown by it's remaining foundations. People greeted us as we wandered through, as well, which speaks volumes about the feeling people had about this space. I hope anyone who visits this part of Bristol, who is looking for a quite moment and some space to seek some calm, can find it.
