Hunter Distillery, located in the heart of the Hunter Valley near Tyrrells vineyard, is a renowned spirit studio offering an impressive selection of vodkas, liqueurs, Schnapps, and gins. The award-winning Copperwave Distilled Gin is a standout among their offerings. Visitors can enjoy a unique experience at the Test Tube Tasting where they can sample Native Gin made with finger lime and Kakadu plum or vodka flavored with lemon myrtle from authentic lab glassware.
Hunter distillery is perfect for anyone who wants more than just wine and cheese on their trip. We did the test tube tasting but got far more than the $10 experience. Julie is an amazingly friendly and warm staff who has more than enough enthusiasm to go around. We were able to chat and try what we liked, exploring the liqueur range that was very extensive. They also stock a variety of other locally made goods including jams and balsamic vinegar. The place smells divine when you walk in as they are burning these delicious scented candles. It was endless fun I would recommend for anyone visiting.
Elissa Z — Google review
They had a large range of gin, vodka and liqueurs. The taste testing was $10 and you get to try 6 different spirits of your own choosing. I liked the popcorn liquor.

Beautiful setting, great selection, and thoroughly enjoyable tasting. On a recent visit to the Hunter Valley, we decided to do a tasting at the Hunter Distillery, namely for their selection of gin and liqueurs. From arrival we were warmly greeted with the tasting options well explained to us by our host Kylie. For our tasting we chose Mystery Gin, Coffee Vodka, Chilli Vodka (has a real kick to it!),and for liqueurs Blackberry, Popcorn (our favourite!) and Passionfruit. All amazing. We ended up buying a bottle of the popcorn liqueur and a mystery gin. Really enjoyed our conversation with our host Kylie also - very down to earth, knowledgeable and friendly, and added to the truly postive experience. I highly recommend visting this place when you are next in the Hunter Valley, and a thanks to Kylie and her team for the warm welcome and quality product.
Frank M — Google review
One of the best spirit tastings I ever had. Boutique distillery for a reason. Mystery gin was my favorite. Popcorn liqueur was outstanding It was like liquid popcorn. I enjoyed their coffee vodka which will be good for espresso martini. Also, their lychee and hazelnut liqueur. Must do activity while in Hunter's valley.
Kannappan J — Google review
We had such a great taste testing experience yesterday!! The lady with the accent was amazing, we could talk to her all day lol! She went out of her way to give us recommendations for our anniversary dinner and looked up distances etc for us. She's amazing!!

My friends and I had the loveliest time on Saturday morning having a tasting at the Distillery. Your friendliness, professional approach and your knowledge was awesome. Thank you for your kindness and passing on many great pieces of information about the Hunter Valley. You set us up for fabulous day.
Penny M — Google review
This is an excellent stop to taste a good range of distilled products. The staff member who served us was very knowledgeable and took time to explain the process of making the various drinks. We mostly enjoyed the schnapps and liqueurs and purchased a few bottles. I particularly enjoyed the hazelnut and lychee liqueurs.
Lindsay M — Google review
An enjoyable tasting experience. The staff member we interacted with was very friendly. It costs $5 for 10 samples which you don't pay if you buy one of their products. A lot of interesting flavours to try. The honey vodka and gin were quite good. Ended up purchasing the honeydew melon liqueur which was fantastic.

A wonderful little boutique visited during a brief tour of wineries in Hunter Valley. My wife and I loved the tastes of the lovely and dare I add incredibly delicious produce which were presented to us by very friendly (and accommodating staff). So good, I brought back a trio of flavoured mini bottles which will get consumed over a protracted period of time in order to savour both the memories of our trip as well as the delight of enjoying the drinks! You really should stop by in you find yourself in the region - or even if you're simply driving through.
Femi O — Google review
Highly recommend heading to Small Mouth for a tasting if you are heading to the hunter valley. Free tasting and you get to choose the 8 flavours you try!
Ashleigh S — Google review
I came across these guys at the Ekka this year and I honestly can’t recommend them enough. Their range is incredible, the flavours are next level, and the quality really stands out. On top of that, the customer service was friendly and genuine, which made the whole experience even better. I grabbed two bottles to start with and I’m already excited to finish them so I can order more. Easily a 10/10 – I’d recommend them to absolutely anyone looking for something amazing.

I was lucky enough to be gifted a bottle of Elderflower Gin, it looked amazing. The 'shimmering purple colouring with silver glitter was beautiful. I have never tasked anything like it, it had a mild floral sweetness with a slight aniseed flavour. It was that nice, I decided to drink it straight. Absolutely beautiful.
Michelle D — Google review
The tastings here are great and loved the team. Some were a bit short and blunt but was end of the day and so many people coming through it was understandable so no hard feelings. Good spot to finish the day
Lauren E — Google review
An excellent range of vodkas, gins and liqueur to try out (for free). Great recommendations from the staff; thank you for recommending the blueberry, elderflower and passionfruit assortments :) they also accommodated to our requests. We bought a few of our own back to give to our friends for Christmas. After the trip, we only found out that they've used 100% organic ingredients based on one of the travel guides we read in our hotel. We'll definitely return when we pass by.

Really enjoyed our tasting session and the service was great. The mocha vodka same Blue Island gin were our favourites and we left with a bottle of each.

Highly recommend coming here for a tasting. There was 10 of us and originally we weren’t going to go here but very happy we did it last minute! Joe was our host and did a great job with explaining each tester and making us laugh along the way.
Ashleigh S — Google review
Mostly I wanted to try the gin, & I did end up getting a bottle of the Bush Gin to take home. The Native Plum Finger Lime was also nice, but the Blue Island was, to me, a typical example of a tipple that plays up the butterfly pea colour changing gimmick to try to make up for the flavour. (Just not to my tastes, ultimately - I’m sure others would disagree with me on this!) Staff were lovely & knowledgeable and the tiny tasting cups are totally charming. A bit disappointed that the tasting fee isn’t put towards cellar door purchases as it is at some other places, but I do understand the need for it.

Thank you Paige for being an amazing host for our hens party. Paige was informative and went above and beyond with her customer service skills. Highly recommend a tasting of your wonderful products. Thanks guys.

My wife and I went there for our honeymoon to do a gin & vodka tasting and honestly it was some of the best ones we've ever tried. For what you are paying it's great value and was a great opportunity to have a better idea how different alcohol tastes. Definitely recommend and a beautiful place for it too!
Isaiah M — Google review
Such a great experience for something different to wine in the Hunter Valley. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great time! The Mocha vodka is worth trying.

Great little spot for gin and vodka. Where you can find a few very delicious flavours!!! The blue gin and caramel vodka are the must try if you are a sweet tooth.
Joe L — Google review
Vodkas, gins and liqueurs. We had a great time as a family tasting some options. The standard tasting package gives you the option to taste 5 spirits from what's on offer. However, some who were there seemed to have gone the full spread. The staff are friendly and know their stuff. The different flavours are delicious and everyone in our party of six found at least three or four flavours that they considered buying. If we hadn't just bought a bunch the previous day, we would have walked away with several bottles. Prices are comparable with other local distilleries.

I hated my experience at Hope Estate this week. We dropped in for a beer tasting and it was the worst tasting paddle I've ever had at any brewery, ever. I'm not exaggerating either, I tried 4 beers and couldn't finish any of them so left we left pretty disappointed. My four beers were: Pineapple Sour Blood Orange NEIPA Chocolate Milk Porter Extra Stout The pineapple sour was top 3 of the worst things that ive ever tasted, waaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy too sweet, sickly sweet and sour but in a nasty way. I've tried dozens of amazing sour beers from the best like wildflower and others and this one tasted like the first attempt by a homebrewer who didn't have a clue what they were doing 0.2/10 The blood orange NEIPA was awful as well and undrinkable, it had a weird taste and tasted nothing like blood orange. If you've ever had Daintons blood orange NEIPA you will be deeply dissapointed here 1/10. The choc milk stout was gross and tasted like literal chocolate milk had been mixed with beer 1/10. And lastly the extra stout which was barrel aged was smoky, I didn't realise it was smoky when I ordered it and didn't see smoke mentioned in the description. I don't totally hate smoked beers but this one was bad, it smelled like an old nasty camp fire and left an after-taste like I'd been drinking liquid ash, yuk 0.3/10. I even tried mixing the pineapple sour with the NEIPA but it just ruined both even more. We definitely won't ever be going back here as to be brutally honest, if you can make even half decent drinkable beers after being in business for several years than it's obvious you either don't know what your doing, or you can't divorce the gimmicky spirit distilling side from your brewery and therefore can't just make simple enjoyable beers so with that I'd say this place isn't even a real brewery but a gimmicky gin/vodka/passion pop producer masquerading as one to try and please the "blokes"

Any incredible venue with excellent variety for wines, craft beers and spirits. Gary had bags of personality and was most excellent for the wine tasting - very passionate and informative. Highly recommend.
Alison P — Google review
Great tastings. We did a beer tasting and a wine tasting. The lady who completed the wine tasting was very knowledgeable and professional. The venue was beautiful. There were kangaroos around.
Amy L — Google review
As frequent visitors of Hope Estate, we usually enjoy our time here—the staff are consistently friendly, and the atmosphere is great. Most of the time, the drinks are spot on, but occasionally they can be a bit hit or miss. On our latest visit, the garnish on my drink looked pretty sad, which was a bit disappointing considering the usual standard. Still, it won’t stop us from coming back, but a little more consistency would go a long way.

Had the tower moscato that I loved. Met Mr Gary, manager, who is jolly good fellow. Giving us a warm welcome and a great history lesson on the Hunter region. Thanks Mr Gary!

Nestled in the picturesque Hunter Valley, Pokolbin Cider House is a delightful destination for cider enthusiasts. Since its inception in 2011, this charming boutique has crafted a unique range of ciders that blend traditional winemaking techniques with innovative flavors. Visitors can indulge in an array of eight tantalizing varieties, including classic Sweet Apple cider and adventurous mixes like The Dark Grape and Passionate Fruit Perry. Each cider is meticulously fermented in-bottle, ensuring a fresh taste without any added sugars.
A most enjoyable Sunday afternoon We have visited the Cider House a few times now and always had the ploughman's lunch however on the weekend we had the Brazilian BBQ … I don’t know what magic that is with the pizza but it is beyond delicious along with the ribs! We spent a very enjoyable few hours having some ciders, great food and admiring the beautiful surrounds. The customer service is wonderful, from the moment you call to book which sets the tone for a great experience. Highly recommend and already planning our next visit back!
Megan H — Google review
We wanted to visit the dessert bar upstairs but unfortunately it was closed. Decided to try the cider paddles for $15 each seeing as we were there and had to wait until 3pm for check in. Is a nice relaxing setting. The staff were friendly and efficient despite clearly being understaffed. Cider is a good alternative to wine tasting and they have juice paddles for kids as well.
Sue H — Google review
Absolutely loved it. As a cider lover, this was so wonderful for me. Our server was so beautiful with a wicked sense of humour and truly knew the ciders. My girlfriends who aren’t huge cider fans were all able to order a drink they enjoyed thoroughly. The ambience of the place is so lovely and I can’t wait to come back to get some more cider.
Chloe H — Google review
The Mog Champ sends his regards. I've always been a big fan of ciders so this wasn't the first time I've been here. Any cider-lover should give this place a visit because they have a good selection for their cider tasting platters. Their service is quick and the atmosphere is nice because on a day with great weather it feels amazing to have something refreshing to go with it. Thanks for the tasting platter as always! Won't be the last visit from me that's for sure! Mogliest Regards, Your Mog Champ

The Brazilian BBQ in the weekend is absoluty amazing! Tastes great and isn't expensive for what you get! Maybe a bit understaffed (the personel of the cidery) for such a big venue, but they made up for that with great smiles and views!

Stunning views around, great service, amazing selection of drinks and out of this world Brazilian BBQ from Pampa Flame🔥

This is a cute little Cider House in Lambloch Estate (look for Lambloch Estate sign, the Cider House sign is small and miss-able). For $15, you can sample four of their ciders on a Paddle. It is a pleasant way to spend the afternoon before going to dinner. My favourite was the Dark Grape cider. There is also a little Cafe on top if you don't want to drink cider.

What a great place!! It is a small shop with such fire and vibrancy, thank you Monika being such a lovely host for our tasting experience! Ended up buying the whole box and we will come back for more. She was kind, funny and very knowledgeable of what she was offering, hope to see you again when we are back here! They have chiili and non chilli liqueurs and they are to die for! All butterscotch based so it is yummmmmmyyy to begin with, infused with raspberry, blueberry, banana(!!!), coffee, lychee etc! Great for shots and making cocktails. We loved it!

I have ALWAYS had an exceptional experience with this store and their products! All flavours are unique and delicious! The Kiss of Fire is great for any night, works great in cooking, and helps when you have a head cold. My favourite is the blackcurrant and reminds me of alcoholic Ribena! Head into the store for a fantastic tasting experience! 10/10!

Great shop. Friendly staff. Wonderful liqueurs. Free tasting. A range with chilli infusion - hence the name, but there is a range without it. All locally made. Lots of interesting options to try. We liked and bought the ginger and chilli.

Appalling Customer Service Experience: Disrespectful and Disgraceful I recently had the misfortune of encountering what can only be described as the epitome of appalling customer service at Kiss of Fire in Hunter Valley Gardens. My interaction with one particular employee, whom I can only describe as a rude, mean old woman, left me utterly dismayed and compelled to share my experience. From the moment I entered the store, it was evident that the old lady staffing the shop lacked any semblance of professionalism or basic courtesy. This individual, whom I later discovered to be the sister of the man who she claimed was creator of the product line, seemed to exude an aura of disdain towards customers. When I approached her with a simple inquiry about the difference between passionfruit and pineapple, her response was nothing short of shocking. Instead of providing assistance or even attempting to answer my question, she rudely and begrudgingly and nonchalantly shrugged as if my query was beneath her . Her attitude conveyed a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and a lack of basic product knowledge. her actions actively made me want to not buy anything from her. Furthermore Her conduct as a customer service representative was deplorable. Instead of fostering a positive shopping experience, she actively dissuaded me from making any purchases especially the smaller bottles as wedding favours or party gifts . Despite initially intending to buy a significant number of bottles as gifts for my social group, her appalling behavior and attitude left me feeling not only aggravated but also disinclined to support the store in any capacity. It is abundantly clear that she lacks the fundamental skills and demeanor required to serve customers effectively. or even common decency or social skills to be interacting in the public at all. this woman should not be addressing the public or allowed near any thing resembling something that involves customer service Overall, my experience at Kiss of Fire in Hunter Valley Gardens was nothing short of a nightmare, thanks to the abysmal customer service provided by this particular employee . It's disheartening to encounter such blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and professionalism. I urge the owner of Kiss of Fire to take swift action to address this issue and ensure that other customers do not have to endure similar treatment in the future. She needs to retire or step aside and let someone with actual customer service skills or basic human decency work the counter

Great product! Really interesting flavours with the chilli mixed in! The lady who looked after us seemed a bit stressed/harried and mentioned she had a bus load coming in. She came across a little gruff, but gave us adequate attention and excellent information. I'd met this lady prior when it wasn't so busy and she was so helpful, so I realise the element of stress was affecting her. She gave us excellent information about the product and we bought a few bottles. Just be kind. We stood back and let her look after everyone else first and moved forward when she had a lull. It's a small shop, she's no doubt concerned about Covid, as are we all, so it's important we respect those boundaries and not crowd her. It was quite busy and she was exceptionally efficient! It was almost as if she knew what it was we'd like to try!

Just had fabulous tasting at Tempus Two. Huge range of varieties, gotta go back to try some more, but the cases I’m taking home will do for now. Our host Heather was delightful and well informed. Great experience!

I am extremely disappointed with my wine tasting experience today. The server was completely unprofessional—she simply handed me a wine list without any introduction or guidance and expected me to choose on my own from the $10 for six bottles option. How was I supposed to make a decision without assistance? When I asked if she had any recommendations or more unique wines to suggest, she just told me to upgrade my tasting package. Her attitude was dismissive and uninterested throughout. To make matters worse, one of the red wines we tried was clearly just opened and hadn’t been aerated at all—it was bitter and astringent. It was obvious that the server had very limited knowledge about the wines, as she couldn’t answer basic questions. Overall, a frustrating and unsatisfying visit.

We had the pleasure of being looked after by Jacob last Sunday to do our wine tasting. He was brilliant! He introduced us to different wine options based on the answers we would give him on his targeting questions. He tailored made the experience for us, rather than saying its these 6 and that's it! We had the best afternoon there and a real introduction to the Hunter Valley wine region as we were visiting from WA. This is a must stop for any traveler to the area and wants to learn more about the wines. Thank you again Jacob for your amazing knowledge and customer service, and a shout out to Courtney who was also lovely and very knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great tips to visit to eat. 10 out of 10 guys!!

The lovely blonde lady who looked after us gave us a try and sold us with the Choc Coffee cream which was amazing and gave the story how it was made from wine. The lovely lady's name was Heather.

It did take a little while for us to be acknowledged and served (especially as it was fairly quiet at the time), but once we were, the women were absolutely lovely! We had a great tasting, they were so friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience really enjoyable. Also, please bring back the Dolce Rosa! It’s my absolute favourite and one of the main reasons we visit the Hunter 🤩 such a beautiful wine!!

We did a tasting with Courtney and she was incredible! My wife is currently 31 weeks pregnant and she was more than accomodating providing her with a non alcoholic tasting whilst I was able to enjoy an amazing and educated wine tasting! Courtney was incredible and so friendly! We will definitely be back 😊

We came yesterday afternoon for a tasting! Really enjoyed all of the wines. The guy who did our tasting was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and we tried a great selection of wines! Would highly recommend!

I've previously been an organic farmer and grower, and always tried to source good but reasonably priced organic wines, and I recently came across Tamburlaine. My experience has been a very positive one, as they offer range of affordable wines of great quality and availability. My partner and I have enjoyed our mixed bundles, doing our own tastings here in Tasmania as the mainland is a long way away! And we've had free delivery! The Reserve Syrah 2023 is especially smooth and deliciousl. Very happy customers!

Beautiful spot for a tasting of some very nice wine! Tamburlaine is must do stop on the vineyard trail. Their wines really do cater for everyone's tastes and they have the bonus of being very reasonably priced. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and the tasting room has a great vibe. Our wine taster Seth was very knowledgeable about the wines and gave us a great tasting experience. We ended up purchasing a dozen, joined the wine club and also grabbed some of their gin! One stop cellar door you don't want to miss

This was our favourite winery of our little Hunter Valley tour. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere on a rainy winters day. We loved all the wines… and the fact they sell them in backpacker friendly flat pack bottles! Our host was really informative and we had a great chat with her while we tasted the wines. Lovely!
Jennifer R — Google review
A wonderful and unexpected highlight of our trip. We popped in for a tasting and were hosted by Adrian, whose knowledge of the wines, engaging storytelling, and great sense of humour created such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Have never tried their wines, and fell in love immediately, we never felt rushed, and each pour came paired with insights that deepened our appreciation. We had hoped to return today to try the gin, but other plans got in the way. Safe to say we’ll absolutely be back.

Marcus was a wonderful host for our wine tasting! Highly recommend, he was friendly and informative - adaptive to our group and paved way for an amazing day. So appreciative to his hospitality!

We enjoyed our tasting at Tambourlaine (and bonus points for it being the only free tasting in the Hunter Valley!) - the Pinot Gris and GSM were particular favourites of ours. One thing to note is although the website states that bookings are not required for less than 5 people, we were unable to do the vegan cheese tasting as a walk in (which was a shame as we had planned our day around this), so recommend booking ahead for any cheese tastings.

We just finished the wine tasting experience with Seth and it was amazing. He was an amazing charismatic tour guide in this pallet journey. He explained differences between wines and was very knowledgeable. Thank you for this amazing experience Seth! Would 100% recommend

Had a delightful wine tasting stop at Gundog Estate on a biking tour of the Hunter Valley! We booked the premium tasting & thoroughly enjoyed being looked after by Debbie & her team who were so welcoming & knowledgeable. The gourmet pantry was excellent & love that dogs are welcome on the patio!

Well after many years since we were last at Gundog Estate it was great to be back at this lovely little place in Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley. We decided to stay for a wine tasting here and would like to thank Debora for her wonderful hospitality and a great chat. I would definitely recommend going to this small but nice quaint little place for some nice wine. I recommend you buy a bottle of their Musket.

Had such a fantastic experience at Gundog Estate thanks to Jenny and Liz! They made our wine tasting truly memorable - warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. They took the time to share the stories behind each wine, made great recommendations, and created such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Thank you both for making our visit so special, we’ll definitely be back!

The wine from Gundog is fabulous - all of it. I can't praise it highly enough! The service is so personal - Matt, the chief winemaker, reads all emails and responds really quickly. We get great discounts because we buy regularly and the ethos of this place is so correct line - they are carbon neutral, they donate to an organisation that aims to prevent and reduce youth homelessness, there are testimonials from staff about what a good workplace it is.

We did a wonderful wine tasting here, ladies who ran it were warm, inviting and knowledgeable. Fantastic service! As a non wine drinker who was just along for the ride, I found the wines delicious and even ended up taking home a 6pack.

IronBark Hill Brewing Co, established in 2016, is a multi-award winning brewery located at IronBark Hill Vineyard and Peter Drayton Wines. The brewery has expanded from a 200 litre to a 1200L system with 10 tanks and plans for further growth. With ten craft beers available on tap and in cans, visitors can also take home their favorite brews in glass or stainless steel growlers.
Had a fabulous Pizza lunch at Ironbark today, next level actually. Not only the best Pizza in the Valley but one of the best pizza bases I have ever had. The outside area is just so relaxing & wines & beers were great too. I would recommend highly & will definitely visit again next visit to the area.

We walked into an empty restaurant at 2:15pm on a Thursday mid December. No servers came up to us at any point during the meal to ask how things were or if they could bring us anything. We ordered 2 pizza's from the QR code on the table. Both were average wood fired pizzas, under-seasoned in our opinion. However the main issue was that there were 2 staff working during the time we were there and neither of them felt any need to check on their only customers. Poor service in a region where there are so many other options. Needless to say we won’t be back.
Jennifer C — Google review
Unfortunately it was a slow weekday in Winter when we went there for lunch just after 1pm. We were the only table and it felt like we were intruding. We asked if they were open and were told there were only a few items of food available. Basically nothing fresh, only fried. We ordered the only hot food available which was fries, arancini and wings. The wings had no sauce other than a pot of aioli (ie no buffalo sauce or bbq sauce - just deep fried and therefore a bit dry.) The chips were served with the same aioli and tomato sauce- fine. The arancini were fine. Bonus points because they turned on two heaters when we asked (it was a freezing day!) The music was 80s rock which was abrasive given we were the only table - would have been a vibe if it was packed with people downing ale on a summer afternoon. So it was probably just bad timing for us.
Tanya B — Google review
The food and beer were quite tastey, so no issues there. But the older server lady at the bar was unpleasant. Clearly didn't want to be there, borderline rude and didn't pour beers very well at all. Not really something you expect for a brewery in the hunter. Not in a massive rush to come back because of that.

Such delicious pizza - the Sausage and Potatoe option was amazing - a flavour bomb. Fries are really generous and crispy, with a delicious aoli option. Loved the Black Forrest Stout and the Old Nessy Scottish Strong Ale - amazing, fabulous flavours. Great service and super location. Would highly recommend.

Great beers, and decent pizza. Mixed up the food orders but that was because people were scrambling to get out of a sudden storm and switch tables. Was also dog-friendly which is a plus for those with furry friends. Would recommend a stop here if you're into a wide variety of beers.
Tim W — Google review
The food is really good here, best pizza I have had in a long while. Kids meal was very decent also, hand cut chips very nice touch. Service was fast and friendly. Would definitely come here again. I liked that they had their own beer on tap and tasting paddles as well. The beers were not that impressive, would have like to have seen a nice bold IPA, or a hazy IPA. The beers that had on offer were very approachable and easy drinking. Suits more non craft drinkers. Despite that, awesome location and great place to grab a bit to eat in the vineyards.

Nestled in the picturesque Hunter Valley, The Valley Brewhouse is a charming restored brick pub and hotel that offers an inviting atmosphere for both locals and travelers. With outdoor pools, a hot tub, and even a tennis court, it’s the perfect spot to unwind after exploring the region. This microbrewery takes pride in crafting local brews right on-site, featuring an impressive selection that includes everything from dark lagers to Belgian blondes and unique kettle sours infused with passion fruit.
Located at Wine Country Drive, Nulkaba, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 This was a really lovely place to have lunch on our visit to the Hunter Valley. We were looking for somewhere to have a nice meal and literally came across this place by chance. I had the Honey BBQ Grilled Prawns and they were delicious 😋. I also shared a serving of the garlic bread with my friend and it was also amazing. It’s a really well designed establishment with the tables spread out, not squashed in. The large lounge was a big plus. I loved the actual brewery and the old kiln’s on the property. They add a great touch to the overall look of the place. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Answering our questions with a smile. So helpful. The prices are very reasonable and the live entertainment in the forecourt was great. The menu had a wonderful selection of dishes to choose from, a bit extra than your typical bistro menu. There’s plenty of parking 🅿️ and very good toilet 🚻 facilities, including accessible toilets. I would definitely recommend visiting, a big thumbs up from me! 👍👍👍

Terrific beer and good atmosphere with live music on the Friday night we were there, though one of the worst meals of my life. Eggplant lasagna was dried up, small and tasteless. The curry was watery and bland. Other meals for our group were overcooked.

We’re locals and often come here for beers, wine and food, but what we got last Saturday was honestly terrible. I don’t like leaving bad reviews (especially since I work in hospitality myself), but we invited our parents for lunch and it was such a let-down. It felt like we were served the last scraps before the kitchen closed. My mum paid $30 for a chicken breast that was barely 100g, with a salad that looked like a cow had chewed it first. A couple of chips with the burger, just thrown on the plate to make it look like more ,not good at all. And I won’t even get started on the burnt schnitzel… We also waited an hour for the food, which I can understand if you’re busy, but please get the kitchen in order 🤌🏽This was a really disappointing experience.

Monday - buy one, get one free. Great value. I took my friends here on Monday and we had wonderful food. Friendly service. Plenty of places to sit (inside or out), bottle of wine was a very reasonable price. Overall, highly recommended.

3.5 stars. We had a nice time here on a sunny afternoon in Winter. Prices are fair, $50 for a burger and tacos, $9 schooners. Outdoor play equipment for the kids. Only complaint is that they have a QR code for food but they don’t bring it out. Seems a bit odd to have it both ways, you order, you collect. Pay attention to your phone or your food will just sit there for 20 mins like ours did
Kealan T — Google review
No courtesy bus - webpage phone number wrong I saw their ad in a local tourist brochure advertising a courtesy bus “everyday”. Their website also advertised this. I called the number that is on the website but it was disconnected. I tried the number on Google but it put me through to an automated assistant who gave me the phone number very quickly including the international country code. It took 4 goes to write it down as the assistant couldn’t text it to me. When I finally spoke to someone they said that there was no courtesy bus tomorrow. I mentioned the problems with the website and they seemed to know about it. It was very frustrating. If you are going to advertise a service, you need to be able to deliver it. And you need to keep your website up to date.

This was the perfect venue for our large group with lots of kids. The adults got to do wine tastings and the kids ran around on the grass and ate pizza! We booked in two tasting sessions back to back so that all our group members could do a tasting, the tasting sessions were great and very generous. The courtesy bus was an absolute winner, with Clive our driver doing 2 trips to pick us up and drop us back off at our accomodation that was down the road from the winery, this made it so much more relaxing for us not to have to bring all the cars! Amazing service - thanks so much!

Ben is an all star. Is customer service is great, we came in for a bucks party and he knew how to read room and we had a great time. The gins and limoncello were amazing. Stopped in at Far Distillery during a trip through the Hunter and had an awesome experience. The service was fantastic – friendly, relaxed, and super knowledgeable. Ben really made the visit – he knows his stuff and clearly loves what he does. He walked me through the range and made the whole tasting really enjoyable. You can tell a lot of care goes into every bottle. Big fan of the Signature Gin and Shiraz Gin. For the whisky drinker their barrel-aged gin will be right up your alley. Far Distillery is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Great gin, great people, and a relaxed vibe. Can’t wait to come back!

Bimbadgen Cellar Door is a renowned winery that has maintained its excellence since its establishment in 1968. The name "Bimbadgen" originates from the local indigenous language, signifying "Place of Good View," which perfectly describes the winery's breathtaking vistas of the Barrington ranges. The on-site restaurant, Esca Bimbadgen, offers an award-winning dining experience with panoramic views over the vineyards.
Our wine tasting at Bimbadgen Cellar Door was very informative. Staff had good product knowledge. We could choose from a menu of wine selections to try based on the types of wines preferred. Ordered a charcuterie board to accompany our wines. Beautifully presented premises. Discovered a new favorite Moscato with Rose and Turkish Delight flavors.

Charged weekend surcharge on their wine tasting, presumably because we said we were staying for a pizza too, yet not allowed to sit outside for tasting as pizza place “separate”. Most ridiculous bit was at the end when we went to buy a couple of bottles of wine (because it is fine) and told weekend surcharge would apply to them too! I don’t mind cellar doors not providing discount on RRP to non-members, but why on earth would anyone buy wine here if you can get it cheaper online? Good pizza, location and tasting comparisons ruined by ridiculous pricing structure.

WE WILL NEVER RETURN! We walked in on Sunday afternoon (8/6/25) at about 3:40pm to try 1 wine for 2 people. We were told their tastings finish at 3pm on Sundays by a rude staff member and told to check the sign on the road. Well the sign says 4pm and he was adamant that we were wrong. After being treated so poorly when we only wanted to try 1 wine and share the same glass, we will never come back or recommend this winery. We will recommend others like Hanging Tree Wines, Hope Estate or Savannah Estate where we had positive interactions with much friendlier staff. Being one of the biggest companies this treatment is unacceptable

We purchased the picnic We received one packet of crackers (not 2) We received a brownie which I think was in place of the Macarons and banana bread? We did not receive any packet of chips? There was no blanket in the basket? We received a quarter cut wheel of cheese each. Not a 'wheel of local cheese' They need to upgrade there website on what is no longer included or they have forgotten a few things? The tasting was nice, nice views and plenty of natural sunlight through the windows and doors.

We had a booked wine tasting for 9 at Audrey Wilkinson Winery (1 of my favourites) early August. It was a Saturday, so extremely busy, however we were looked after by Robyn. Robyn, you made our day! Thank you for your knowledge & expertise on the wines & the history of the winery. Your personality & understanding of how to read the group did not go unnoticed. I would say the best host of the day after visiting several other wineries. The personal touch of a bottle of wine as we left for us to celebrate several birthdays was greatly appreciated. See you when we are next in the Hunter

Our experience at Audrey Wilkinson was truly one of a kind — from the rolling vineyards that stretched across the hills to the perfect blend of old-school charm and modern elegance inside the venue. The layout was beautifully thought out, with a welcoming bar area, carefully displayed merchandise, and a small museum that showcased fascinating old tools once used in the art of winemaking. Everywhere we looked, there was a sense of history and craftsmanship. The atmosphere inside seamlessly matched the breathtaking views outside — serene lakes, endless rows of vines, and distant mountain ranges that painted a picture-perfect backdrop. It was not just a tasting, but a journey through tradition, nature, and beauty.

Our experience at Audrey Wilkinson was absolutely delightful and one of a kind! The location is picturesque and peaceful, with stunning views of the vineyards. We enjoyed a beautiful picnic overlooking the vines with a bottle of Moscato — pure perfection! I’d definitely go back again and highly recommend it. It’s an amazing spot for any event or for capturing gorgeous photos.

The view at Audrey Wilkinson is absolutely stunning, with one of the best vineyard outlooks in the Hunter Valley. It’s the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The wines are of good quality, especially the Semillon and Shiraz, which showcase the character of the region very well. However, the service was just average. While everything went smoothly, it lacked the warmth and attentiveness that would have made the experience truly exceptional. Overall, it’s still a great place to visit for the atmosphere and wine, but the service could be improved to match the high quality of the setting.
Toffee — Google review
We had a wonderful wine tasting experience here. The staff were very friendly and welcoming—despite us arriving without a reservation, they kindly offered to seat us. The semillon was especially good, and the staff were extremely generous, offering us more than the standard tasting. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up purchasing a bottle to take home. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!

We had such a great experience at this winery yesterday ! Mya did our wine tasting and she was absolutely amazing — she explained everything perfectly and made it super interesting, even for us who aren’t really into wine. Thanks, we actually enjoyed every part of it. It was the perfect experience!

Absolutely beautiful place! Went with my husband on a group tour of Hunter valley in May 2025. Such a stunning location and loved trying different flavoured wines. I am not a big wine drinker but have a big appreciation for this winery. Lovely spot to visit with your partner, friends and family 😊.

It's a wonderful place to unwind and take in the surroundings. The scenery offers a peaceful escape from the everyday hustle. Sipping on a refreshing drink here would be the perfect way to end the day. The atmosphere is ideal for relaxation and enjoyable conversations. Visiting here is surely a great experience.

Peterson House in Hunter Valley is a must-visit for sparkling wine enthusiasts. The winery offers a premium tasting experience with over 30 varieties of sparkling wines, including the renowned Pink Blush Rose, all crafted using the authentic methode traditionnelle. The picturesque property also houses an award-winning restaurant, Cuvee, where visitors can savor fresh seasonal produce in an elegant setting or opt for a more casual dining experience at the Weekend Oyster Bar.
From the moment we first visited Peterson House, we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding this January. The venue itself is stunning, but what truly set it apart was the incredible team, especially Kal and Lucy, who made the entire planning process feel smooth and stress-free. Their responsiveness was exceptional, every time we had a question or needed to tweak something, they got back to us quickly and made us feel like a priority. The actual wedding day was absolutely perfect. Everything flowed beautifully from ceremony to canapes and reception. What impressed us most was how they handled all our requests without any fuss, they just made things happen behind the scenes so we didn't have to worry about anything. Kal and Lucy helped create a day that was everything we hoped for and more, and we're so grateful for the role they played in it. If you are searching for a venue, seriously consider Peterson House.

We had an absolutely outstanding experience at Petersons House restaurant! From start to finish, everything was flawless. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a beautiful meal. The service was impeccable, and the food was simply exceptional. The lamb rack was to die for—perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavour. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and exceeded expectations. The whole dining experience was such a pleasure and the deconstructed lemon meringue was nothing short of sensational – the perfect finish to an amazing meal. Our grandchildren were also so well catered for and entertained with the activity book waiting for them at the table on arrival, which made the experience even more special. Petersons House is a true gem, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be returning!

We could not have imagined a more perfect wedding experience! From the very beginning, Lucy and Kal were absolutely incredible to work with—warm, professional, and so attentive to every detail. They went above and beyond to make the planning process seamless, always quick to respond and full of thoughtful suggestions that made the day truly ours. On our actual wedding day, the skies opened up and it poured rain. While many people might panic at the thought, Lucy and the team handled it with such calm and grace that we never once felt stressed. They immediately pivoted, adjusted the setup, and somehow made everything feel even more magical and intimate than we could have dreamed. Our guests are still raving about how beautiful and effortless the whole day felt. The venue itself is stunning—rolling vineyards, elegant spaces, and a romantic atmosphere that shines through no matter the weather. We are so grateful to have chosen this place for our wedding, and especially grateful for the entire Peterson’s team, who turned a rainy day into the most joyful, unforgettable celebration. If you’re looking for a venue that’s gorgeous in every season and a team that truly cares about making your wedding perfect, look no further. This was the best decision we made, and we’ll cherish the memories forever!

The spacious grounds offer activities for children like coloring and outdoor games while adults can savor a glass of wine at the Cellar Door. I cannot recommend this winery more highly for their combination of hospitality where you feel like apart of the family, to the exceptional quality of wines, all on the backdrop of the impressive estate that is Ivanhoe Winery. Lewis and Kylie went above and beyond to understand the types of wines we liked and why to provide us with an individually tailored experience that was the stand out of all tastings we’ve ever had in the Hunter Valley. They were so knowledgeable about their wines and their passion for their quality product was genuine. Thank you again for a beautiful afternoon where we ended the day drinking our Shiraz under the trees.

We had a fantastic tasting experience at Tulloch! Kylie was incredible—she kept our kids (ages 4, 6, and 8) happily entertained, allowing my husband to fully enjoy the tasting. The kids' tasting option is such a brilliant idea! Kylie also seemed to be a mind reader—she somehow knew exactly which wines weren’t for us, and recommended only the ones we loved. It honestly felt like she knew our taste better than we did! Highly recommend a visit—we'll definitely be coming back. We ended up purchasing more than five wines we truly enjoyed! Big call given normally we are tied to only red from the Barossa but Kylie knew what reds we should try that we enjoy. We want to take you home Kylie!!!

Usher Tinkler Wines is a charming winery located in the Hunter Valley, housed in a beautifully renovated church built around 1905. The cellar door offers a warm and social atmosphere, where guests can relax on various seating options while enjoying wine tastings guided by knowledgeable staff. The salumi bar features locally sourced food, curated by Ebony Tinkler. The winery's picturesque location overlooks the Brokeback Mountains and showcases stunning countryside views through glass doors and windows.
My partner and I visited for the wine tasting and salumi/cheese platter. We got the medium plate which was a great size for a lunch meal for 2. We had the Pamplona salumi and Tellegio cheese - delicious! The platter comes with bread, lavosh, grapes, pickles, fig paste, olives and pear. The wait staff were all very friendly and provided great service. Our waiter was quite soft spoken so we struggled to hear him properly (but we both have struggling ears from our party days). The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. I would recommend a visit here for anyone who loves a bit of wine, salumi and cheese.

Binet Family Wines had been on a short list of properties to stay for two nights in our caravan, and when our original plan in nearby Broke fell apart they were so kind to accommodate us as short notice, and we're so glad they did! We were greeted by Paul, after the signed closing time, with a warm smile, he poured us a glass of one of the best Barbera's we've had the pleasure of tasting! We continued on the journey of more exceptional wines. We enjoyed the next two nights by the fire, drinking some of Binets finest reds, and finished off with some of the best Shiraz we've ever experienced prior to leaving with a back seat full of wine on Sunday morning! cannot recommend enough, Wonderful wines, complimented with a quiet, intimate, personalised tasting experience with one of the most friendly fellas we've met! Thank you Paul, we will be back for sure! ☺️

Located in the gateway to Wine Country, Huntlee Tavern is a popular pub that offers an impressive selection of beer and cocktails. The establishment boasts a pleasant atmosphere and decor, with friendly staff who provide excellent service. While the food was satisfactory overall, some dishes such as the chicken schnitzel fell short of being exceptional. Additionally, one of the salads seemed more like coleslaw than a traditional salad. It's worth noting that the menu can be on the pricey side.
For a newish pub it has some character and charm, just called in to have a few drinks and to check the pub out. Food looked good, they actually brought some food out for us while we were there for nothing. People friendly. It's worth a visit if you are in the hunter valley.
Daniel C — Google review
It was a lovely looking pub. The food was expensive for what it was. It was $35 for a chickens snitzel and $26 for pulled pork nachos.
Amy L — Google review
You can get a tradie meal for $15 which is about the size of a kids meal. I ordered schnitzel and chips and the schnitzel was a little bit smaller than one you get in the 12 pack from coles or woolies and it came with about 10 chips. I was thinking of adding a topper which would have cost $9 so happy I didn't as it would have only been about 3 tablespoons. My husband had a burger and chips also from the tradie menu $15. He was going to add a egg but didn't as they were going to charge $4 for one. Sauce cost extra $2, everything cost more which we understand most places charge for add ons but this place the prices are more than other places. One customer purchased steak for about $65 and it was the size of a small chicken breast. Only two staff members seemed friendly. Not worth going back to unless willing to pay over $40 each per meal. Response to owner being $17 not $15 was the only error I made which makes it worse for you. Everything else I posted was and is correct and I never said it wasn't fresh. I 100% know Huntlee Tavern is the correct place.

Waited over an hour for our dinner order, steak was under cooked. Fair game the waitress did offer to take it back to the kitchen or to serve a drink. After waiting that long we had waited long enough, Not a place we will be back to or recommend

Tried this new establishment for lunch and I have to agree with the other reviews.. The Food was only-just-acceptable pub food. On a brighter note...the decor is lovely, view exquisite, service friendly if not over keen on customer interaction. And the toilets are worth a visit. Hopefully they will sort out their food issues as its a busy place...we just wouldn't bother going back. Edit I've come back to edit this as we have indeed been back, several times. I do believe Huntlee Tavern have got their act together. It's always hopping and the staff are friendly and obliging. It's really good pub food now. So much better than our first experience. This time we had the Flathead and Chips plus the Salt & Pepper Calamari (Squid). Bit of a wait, but they were hopping busy. Food was well-cooked and tasty. Well done to owners who take the time to read reviews and fix mistakes. We'll definitely be back!

We have had lunch here on weekends five times now, over the last three months. The food is great with generous servings, service is good. Parking on a weekend could be a bit of a challenge when it's busy, but there is Empire St, and Coles around the corner, so all OK.

Beautiful, new cellar door with fantastic service! We came on a Friday afternoon and the lady (sorry we didn't get her name) was super accommodating to our beginner wine palates. She was great at choosing wines for us to try and we loved each one! Very informative and left us with a great experience.

Greeted by the friendliest dog ever then was introduced to the most passionate wine expert who had so much knowledge. Highly recommended to do wine tasting as it opened my eyes to the best tasting wine and amazing host

We discovered Allendale Chardonnay in the Mornington Peninsula and decided we must visit Allendale Wines on our roadtrip to the GC. We were welcomed in for a tasting with our two pooches by Bridie and sampled some terrific Chardonnays…in fact they were the best we sampled in the HV…we signed up for the Wine Club…just a terrific experience and our pooches loved the experience…thank you thank you 🙏

We were welcomed by a cute furry staff. You get 5-6 tastings of your choice. If you sign up for the membership, the tasting fee us waived. Good service, laid back atmosphere.

Riley & Brydee delivered absolutely outstanding customer service! We felt so welcome and well looked after — they were super accommodating. We’ll definitely be back. As for the wine? Hands down, some of the best we’ve had! Absolutely amazing!! - Bree.W

In a cold rainy Saturday afternoon we stumbled upon this beautiful vineyard with its tasting menu, well what a find this was! We had a delightful range of wines each distinctive and delicious. Our hosts Riley and Brynee, treated us to knowledgeable insights into the wine making and history of each, culminating in a purchase that will certainly be enjoyed when the memory of this Hunter tour fades. It would have been great to have been offered the ability to have some food with it but understand that is not always possible. We will be back! Highly recommend the Chardonnay and the Sienna,

When you find yourself in the picturesque Hunter Valley, make sure to stop by Hunter Wine Lab for an unforgettable experience. This charming venue not only offers a delightful selection of wines but also surprises visitors with its craft beers brewed under the Zymurgy label, including a refreshing pilsner and a unique choccy milk porter. The warm hospitality at Hunter Wine Lab creates an inviting atmosphere that feels like home, making it perfect for special occasions or casual visits alike.
We had an incredible time at Hunter Wine Lab. The wines were exceptional, paired flawlessly with delicious handmade chocolates that enhanced every sip. With our host’s expertise, we explored how different glasses influenced the taste—a fascinating and memorable touch! The experience was further enriched by their adorable dogs, beautiful gardens, and the rare opportunity to sample wines directly from their storage tank. The host’s warmth, expertise, and attention to detail made the visit truly unforgettable. We loved it so much that we couldn’t leave without their chocolates and a bottle of their specialty Shiraz Cabernet for our anniversary celebration. Highly recommend this unique and delightful experience!

Had a spectacular time with Nathan showing us around. So interesting being shown the whole process behind winemaking! All while enjoying some of the best wines that the hunter has to offer. 100% recommend!

One of the best winery experiences we’ve had, leonie and her husband are wonderful. The Pinot noir, Riesling and Merlot were some of the most complex and developed wines I’ve had throughout the region. Could not praise this place enough. Not to mention the view is to die for!
Paul W — Google review
My husband and I had an awesome time at this winery. We were attended to by the owners son who was highly knowledgeable about the wines and processes. We did the chocolate and wine tasting, all complemented each other. We were also given a behind the scenes tour of how they make the wine. We are super grateful for this experience.

OMG!! This is the place to be when you are visiting the Hunter Valley!! Isaiah and his family are amazing and so welcoming it is just great! The wine degustation was amazing and such a great variety we had issues choosing which one was the best!! All of them as amazing!!
Jesica L — Google review
One of the best wine in Hunter Valley, products are more than exceptional quality, the only downside is they price the wine too cheap 😁😁😁
Benjamin A — Google review
Had an incredible experience with the wine and chocolate tasting! Getting to meet and chat with owner Nathan was great and his son was very chatty and knowledgeable with everything during the tasting - and it was very cheap for the experience! The wine themselves were incredible, would highly recommend the Tempranillo and the sparkling red - their pink Prosecco also was great! Would definitely recommend this winery as there’s a very wholesome family energy, expect for Teddy (the dog) who was tired of all of our nonsense and was cranky!
Michael O — Google review
Best wine tasting I’ve ever done. We got there late on a Sunday afternoon and Nathan the owner provided us with a huge selection of his wines and explained everything in the least pretentious way possible. He led us through, but thanks to his tasting pamphlet and light guidance, we were able to make our own conclusions on what the wine tasted like. Plus he set up a fire which we sat down around and had a beer with him after. Couldn’t recommend this place any higher. If you’re in the region, go here. (It’s dog friendly too so our dog enjoyed it as well)

Although, food took half an hour to come to me but we were informed that its gonna be around 20 min wait as the cafe was full of customers! Keep up the good work though! Will be back for sure! Usually I am very happy with the quality of food & drinks from here, but this morning I was really disappointed. I ordered my usual chilled caramel latte (which has always been awesome!) and was given a cup of cold milk with the coffee floating on the top and a few ice cubes. The barista that was working this morning has zero customer service skills and wont even acknowledge customers. I should have saved my money!!

Tower Whiskey Distillery is a new and exciting distillery that offers a fantastic tasting experience. They use bourbon, shiraz, malbec, and fortified barrels to infuse their whiskeys with unique flavors and colors. Open seven days a week, it's recommended to visit during off-peak times for the best experience. The atmosphere is lovely, and the staff are knowledgeable and provide great service.
Four happy smiles! Why four? Because that's how many I tasted and they were all amazing. But my favourites were, Numbers 7 and 9. The others were numbers 1and 3. As with many such tastings, you work left to right, delicate, floral, sweet, candied to jammy, lush, indulgent and sheer opulence. As I said earlier, my favourite is the #9. It's like biting and savouring a piece 70% dark chocolate square, followed by Christmas fruit cake. Unsurprisingly, the aroma is dark candied orange and raisins. It's easy to get stuck in "Scotch" land and view whisky from that lens. The beauty of not being tied to tradition is you get to chart your own territory. As a local, I like to get out of my whisky geographical "Scotch" comfort zone and have a peek in my own backyard. Exquisite Australian (no, not just Tassie) Whisky is here and Proud! But, don't expect to find it in your local bottle shop or Danny's! If you like whisky, then treat yourself at this fine distillery. If you're a local then go for the tasting and come out with four happy smiles!

Dropped in on the way home from Smoke in Broke and what a wonderful stop it was. My husband had the Whiskey Flight tasting. He thoroughly enjoyed all four of them and his favourite was No.3. Would definitely recommend stopping and enjoying this tasting experience with Ella and Craig who were very helpful and knowledgeable.

Tower Whiskey Distillery in the Hunter Valley offers quality Australian whiskey-making. Their No. B1 Bourbon Barrel American Oak is exceptionally smooth, making it a standout expression that's well worth trying. The distillery demonstrates impressive craftsmanship and makes for a great visit in the Hunter Valley's spirits scene.

We visited as an impromptu visit without a booking. Ella made us welcome immediately and provided us with options for a tasting. She was professional and informative and added to a great experience before we finally walked away with some amazing whiskey to enjoy when we get home
Joanna G — Google review
We really appreciated being looked after yesterday. We were able to choose our preferred spot and our party could enjoy tasting the fine whisky on offer and catching up. We each followed up with a dram of our favourite whisky around the open fire. A great afternoon and I think we all plan to return sometime soon with other friends to share what was a thoroughly delightful afternoon and venue and whisky tasting.
Michael G — Google review
I had a very disappointing experience. When I walked in, two staff members were rude and unwelcoming. They didn’t greet us properly when I said “hello,” the response was blunt and dismissive with just a short “hi.” I stood there waiting for some engagement, but they stayed silent, which made the situation feel awkward. I ended up looking around uncomfortably before leaving. Staff should be more welcoming and approachable.

De Bortoli Wines in Hunter Valley Wine Country has become a popular destination for regional travelers looking to escape and enjoy a weekend away. The reopening of cellar door wine tastings has been a welcome step in the post-pandemic local economy, allowing visitors to savor the aromas of award-winning wines like the Black Noble. This unique fortified wine made from botrytis grapes received a gold medal in the 2019 Global Fortified Masters Blind Tasting Competition.
We had a fun time at De Bortoli and Rob was a great host and informant of what was being drunk. We had a lot of laughs and enjoyed our tasting at De Bortoli. A beautiful winery and a fun set up. Highly recommend to anyone going on a wine tour of the area. Food looked good too.

The staff are always friendly, and they have many affordable and good wines, I visit this place often. Tyron is my favorite staff member—he’s always so kind and sweet. They also run an oyster bar there. Next time, I’d love to try the oyster bar as well. 🦪 Also Pet-friendly wine shop!

I’ve visited several wineries, but my favourite by far is De Bortoli. Robert made our experience absolutely exceptional — his expertise, energy, and enthusiasm were unmatched. He brought the tasting to life and made it so memorable. I returned again this year hoping to see him, and next time I’ll be sure to request Robert specifically. A true asset to the De Bortoli team!

Rude, strange host. We did a wine tasting between 6 of us. We had the older guy with glasses hosting, think he was a manager. He targeted all questions at one person which was very uncomfortable. He bragged about taking 30% of the sales of local art, and in general was a really poor host. He also gave some small portions every time to the same person. The tasting is inside for awareness. Some nice wines though, plus a great limoncello spritz
Niall B — Google review
The wines were all exquisite! We did the wine tasting and ended up leaving with six bottles. The service was lovely and friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect. It was such a beautiful day — we sat outside afterwards, enjoying the view and soaking it all in.

One of the best wine tastings I have ever done. The staff was amazing and I'm sorry I can't remember her name. Very informative, pleasant and engaging. She is so happy in what she does. She even suggested we do noble tastings. I like noble one dessert wine since my hotelier days 2008. Yummy. The charcuterie platter was amazing. Live oysters shuck. Best kilpatric oysters I have ever had in my life. Amazing experience and best in business.

De Bortoli is a huge company as was mentioned in the wine tasting, the Hunter is only a tiny percentage of their production. I am sure it's impressive being so huge but I prefer to support small wineries. That being said we did pickup a few bottles as I liked a few of their reds

We had a fantastic experience at Wild Ren Wine Room. The wines were outstanding, with a wide variety of delicious options available. The cellar door had a stylish and modern ambiance, complemented by beautiful labels on their bottles. Trevor provided entertaining and informative guidance, while Ren demonstrated their talent as a wonderful host and skilled winemaker. We were impressed by the warm and knowledgeable staff who made our visit enjoyable. Noodle, the dog, added an additional charming touch to our cellar door experience.
Wow. If you are a family, this is the place for you! We are a family of 5 and did the adult wine tasting and kids tasting platter, all of which was just fantastic. What a beautiful cellar door, such a great story and the best wines. Loved every single one of the premium wine tasting glasses and fell in love with this little place. Couldn’t recommend any more, such great value! Louise took us through our tasting and she was amazing
Joshua M — Google review
From the moment we walked in, everything was just spectacular. Renee, who welcomed us, just sets the scene and atmosphere for what you can then expect from this elegantly decorated cellar door, set in a fantastic location. Every wine was beautifully presented. We enjoyed a tasting of the rose and we could not go home without taking some of the Hunter along with us to enjoy in the future. Although I'm not normally a gin drinker, this is worth every penny. I brought two bottles as they are presented in such a lovely bottle I have used one as home decor. The staff are all attentive without being overbearing - a rare and difficult balance. If you want to experience something different, in a beautiful location, this is where you want to find yourself.

We visited Wild Wren Wines on Saturday and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The owner, Renee, hosted our tasting and not only welcomed us with her beautiful smile but also impressed us with her knowledge, passion, and genuine love for what she does. The cellar door space she has created is stunning — relaxed, inviting, and a perfect setting to enjoy some truly outstanding wines. Let me just say — the wines are fantastic! Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

We visited Wild Ren Wines with Luxury Escape package for our anniversary trip to the Hunter . Renee was lovely to chat with. The service was fantastic. Gin & truffle testing was great. The wines were quite young and fresh which was not our usual taste. If you like this type of wine , I recommend you to visit this place. The surrounding was nice and lovely to walk around when you visit the Hunters. We bought the gift pack and it was perfect gift with mixed wines range .
Peeta G — Google review
Kristen was an exceptional service assistant, working back to cater for our group of 10 after an administrative error in recording our tasting time. The wines were lovely and the limoncello gin was a real winner with our group. Unfortunately, I was very taken aback with the abrupt and rude manner displayed towards me by the elderly gentleman working there - again due to their administrative error. I was able to present an email to ensure that it was not I that had made the error, and I did not even get an apology. Had we have been met with a more welcoming host I would have felt that the experience was worth more than three stars.

Great spot for a tasty meal with a beautiful outlook! The staff were very friendly, and helped us find the perfect drink from the broad range of beers and spirits. The food was amazing - and apparently set to get even better with a new menu on its way. The verandah is the place to be, set up with comfy lounges and bar stools, and is the perfect spot to kick back and watch the black cockatoos fly around the vineyard while the sun sets behind the mountain. I thoroughly recommend - and I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the valley.

I'm unhappy because not only did the lady cut me and not apologise but she actually lied to me. My nails were almost done, she filed them into shape then used the silver drill to smooth each of my nails. My last nail was my thumb and she cut me and didn't apologise. Then she said wash hands as we were done. Then she wiped I'm assuming alcohol on each nail before putting the final clear coat on. I said please be careful not to get it on my skin as alcohol absolutely burns on a cut. Then she said the nail file sometimes does that. I said it wasn't the nail file it was the drill I was watching and u don't wash your hands in between nail filing and drilling smooth the nails. I went to pay and politely asked for a discount. Even a small discount as now my thumb has a slit in it which is really uncomfortable and I have to wear an ugly bandaid on my fresh new nails so I don't get bacteria into my fresh cut. So I asked for discount he said no. I said if you get haircut and they cut you, wouldn't you want a little discount as an apology? He basically didn't care. Also their nail files are those disposable ones yet they use on EVERY CUSTOMER which is spreading bacteria or nail fungus around. They're meant to use metal so they can sterilise to keep it hygienic, but they just re use disposable nail files because when she pulled it out I could see it had nail marks on it and there's no way to sanitise or sterilise, she just used it and put it back. She didn't wipe the drill after cutting me too, luckily I don't have any blood disease because if she cut someone after me, my blood germs would get into their cut.
