We had a wonderful day exploring the Hunter Valley Gardens. The gardens are absolutely stunning, with a breathtaking variety of flowers, plants, and themed sections that are immaculately maintained. The scenery is picturesque at every turn — perfect for photos and simply enjoying the beauty of nature. It’s a fantastic place for a walk, and we found it very family-friendly. There’s something for everyone, from kids to grandparents. The Storybook Garden was a hit with the little ones, and the peaceful walking trails were relaxing for the adults. The only downside is the admission price. At $126 for a family, it’s quite expensive. While the experience is lovely, we do wish the pricing was a bit more accessible for families who want to visit more often hence dropping a star.

Largest winery in Australia.. One of the best in the world with a variety of original locally grown finest wines .. From vineyards to production units to processing and bottling wines. Everything will demonstrated and of course with free wine testing facilities in a cosy friendly environment.. One can then buy as many.. There are multiple wine companies with good portfolio across the vast land of Hunter Valley gardens.. Comprising of multiple best quality gardens or more appropriately vineyards and wine tasting restaurants..n facilities.. People making and offering wine are highly experienced, friendly and always trying to explain and help choose the best quality and the type one is looking for.. Many souvenirs are also available.. It is a day long wonderful experience taking a few hours only

Beautiful well kept gardens of many themes. Well worth the admission price. Extremely picturesque. Great for photo shoots. Great for exploring and enjoying the views and beauty of curated nature.

The gardens were an absolute blast, with so much to explore. Walking through the various themed areas, I felt like I was in a fairytale. The lights display at night was a mesmerizing experience. I definitely took a lot of photos to remember this fantastic trip.

My wife and I visited t g e Hunter Valley Gardens on the 31 August 2025. As pensioners we were charged $33 each entry fees. The Gardens are very well maintained, but there is next to nothing to see, except last year Christmas Decorations.

Hunter valley garden is a really good place to have a stop when you're traveling in Hunter valley. Especially when you're arrived here at November to January, there would be a Christmas activities which would be many kinds of lights on. Also there are many themes in this garden. It's really a good place to have a try and chill here

gecommended for everyone. Visited during the winter. Hope it’s grate in spring . During winter flowers aren’t usually in bloom, but the different types of gardens were gorgeous and beautifully maintained. Few events including big wheel-and sliding but you have to pay separately.

It's definitely desired to stop here. And take a look into the zoo is much more than I expected. Before before I think it's maybe just a small zoom with little animals. But in reality, they are quite a variety of animals, and also, you can see the white kangaroo. Here, you also can feed the kangaroo and other animals. It's quite interesting no matter how old you are.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place — I’d never heard of it before, but it turned out to be a beautiful spot! The animals look well cared for and generally very happy. I was amazed to see they even have lions and my favourite, the giraffes! A few animals did look a bit restless, but overall it’s a lovely park to visit with the family and definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

I was genuinely surprised to find such a sizeable wildlife park in Hunter Valley. At first, I thought it would just be a small place with a few animals, but it turned out to have some large predators as well as many unique Australian animals. You can also enjoy close encounters with kangaroos, which was a great experience. If you’re visiting Hunter Valley, I think spending half a day here is definitely worthwhile.

Amazing zoo, you are able to get up close to most of the animals and see some really unique animals and immersive experience. Most people dont know about this zoo but it's great. Only thing I would change would be the giraffe enclosure your down hill from them so unless they are right in front of you it make it hard to get as good a look as your able to with the other animals they have but you still get good views.

What a great zoo with an extensive variety of animals, not alot or of shade available during a hot or rainy day; prepare yourself on those days. Very busy on weekends and during school holidays, also attracts some derelict people which can add to your entertainment. Clean BBQ’s available for you to utilise at lunch time if you bring your own lunch.

Very family friendly! Kids can interact with kangaroo, goats, Bambi. Even some chicken cage free. Memorable experience, make sure to buy their merchandise when you came to support this lovely zoo 🍻

So worth the drive, the parking is fine even when busy, admission prices are great value for money, the venues staff can’t help you enough and have amazing customer service, but the range of beautiful animals and birds exotic animals is so wonderful, it’s such an amazing and beautiful place to visit you can see all of the displays so well, the coffee is nice too. Highly recommended a trip to the Hunter Valley Wildlife Park, it’s and easy walk around, facilities are clean and Cessnock is only down the road if you want to stay overnight, for me was a 2 hour easy drive from Sydney’s Hills area

No real cows ☹️🐄❌ Two fake cows 🐮🐮 and one named Tobi 🐄✨, nice aesthetic ✨, clean area ✨🧼, a lot of parking 🚗🅿️. Stinky cheese smell 🧀💨 upon entrance 🚪 but some people are into that 🤷‍♀️👃 yk. The bruzz 👨‍🧀 has been making cheese 🧀 by hand ✋🕰️ for 30yrs which is kool 😎. Staff were friendly 😊👋, atmosphere was nice and chic ☕🪑, prices were questionable ❓💰 but fair enough 🤷. The cheese 🧀 was kinda underwhelming 😕 — only reason why lost a star ⭐❌, idk 🤔 was kinda tasteless 😐 mostly, maybe I've just got a weak tongue 👅🥱 but cheese was kinda bland 😶. For a cheese factory or whatever, like if you're already deep in the dairy game 🧀🥛, chuck in a bit of ice cream 🍦 or a top-tier cheesecake 🍰 gimme a reason to stay after tasting that mid cheese stmo smh, pmo fr ngl.

5 stars – A cheese lover’s dream! I absolutely love the Hunter Valley Cheese Factory! They have an incredible selection of cheeses—I ended up getting a bit of everything because honestly, you can never have too much cheese. My favorite was the Hunter Gold Washed Rind Cheese—it’s nothing like anything I’ve ever tried. If you’re in the area, this cheese is a must! Also, do yourself a favor and grab a jar of their chilli jam—it pairs perfectly with the cheese and adds an amazing kick. Highly recommend stopping by and stocking up before you leave. You won’t regret it!

We had a great time at Hunter Valley Cheese Factory. Dave greeted us and was very helpful and knowledgeable. The tasting plate was a great way to try the available cheeses, and all the cheese was high quality and delicious. Would recommend.

Came in to grab mine and my partners favourite chilli jam, we’re so happy you still continue to make it! Stayed for a cheese board and a wine, the Staff were friendly and knowledgeable! We had a great experience.

Every year we come here and just gets better every time!!!! You have to add this to your list of things to do! The cheese tastings are the highlight and always end up with a heap of cheese and condiments before we leave (the cheese club is awesome too for getting it to your door). Can’t wait until the next visit. Love love love it here

Cheese nice, people nice, but 'Masterclass' not worth it at all. My partner booked us the 'Masterclass' and we were truly aghast at how poor the value was, and it was not as described. We had a 10 minute talk where we were shown ~3 photographs, and sat in front of a 30 second video that was on repeat. We were then left to taste the 8 cheeses (we received approximately 30g of each cheese between the two of us, and a handful of crackers). No accompaniments, as was noted, and we had upgraded to have some meats included. Photo of what we received in full below. Total cost: $257. I kid you not. You'd be better off using those funds to buy actual cheese from them, as the cheese was nice enough but there was no way we were going to pay any more after spending approximately $1000/kg for what we had already had. I really don't write bad reviews, but the value here was an embarrassment for the company.

The tasting plate is perfect for a light nosh. Products in the store are on the pricey side but the flavour and quality is worth it. Standouts include the Brokenback vintage cheddar, Hunter Gold washed rind brie, mixed olives, apple chutney, Falwasser crackers & rose honey 🐝

A wonderful time had by our group - delicious wines, great cheese platter, and fun and knowledgeable hosts (Robin and Danny!) Ivanhoe is a beautiful location worth the time. You won’t be disappointed!

Absolutely love our Ivanhoe Wines. From the cellar door to members functions, Ivanhoe go above and beyond for all their customers. They have such a beautiful range of red & white wines to suit your taste. Plus you are treated like family every time you visit from Lewis, Tracy, Stephen and Parker. Highly recommend Ivanhoe for any wine lover & their members packs are amazing! 🙂

An unforgettable wine-tasting experience! The host was incredibly welcoming, and the view was absolutely stunning. It’s a small, humble spot with exceptional wines—we loved them so much we bought 21 bottles home to share with family and friends in Singapore.

Absolute best wine tasting experience that we have ever had! Group of 5 and Lewis Drayton is the best of the best. Wonderful wines, amazing service and hospitality. And he imparts so much knowledge about the wine tasting experience it is incredible. 5 star plus! 😁

Lewis is a fantastic host! He and Mike took great care of us. The wines were excellent, it was hard to decide which take home (but we managed). The cheeseboard pairing was a great addition to our wine experience. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and would make a wonderful location for a special event. Overall, Ivanhoe is an outstanding stop to make during a Hunter Valley wine tour!

My wife and I are really recommend this winery in Hunter valley. Staff is so kind and can see great view while you're do tasting at balcony. Also the wine they produce is delicious, beautiful.

A quiet and serene place away from the chaos. Here you can be one with nature. The farm , horses, cows and so much more. This place is tucked away from the city and has an environment that is just pure bliss. Also has various activities like horse riding, go cart, tractor rides and so on. Has a small cafe in the premises.

We had a fantastic 1-hour horse trail ride in the beautiful Hunter Valley! The scenery was stunning, and the ride was peaceful and relaxing — a perfect way to take in the natural beauty of the area. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made sure we were comfortable with our horses. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced rider, this is such a memorable experience. Highly recommend it if you’re visiting the Hunter Valley!

We stayed for 2 nights in the hilltop villas which were very well kept. The kids and I loved the 1hr trail ride and fell in love with the horses. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, so patient with the kids, answering their questions making the stay so memorable. The kids enjoyed helping feed the horses, but their favorite thing was the bonfire night and emu dance with Lenny. Thank you again for a wonderful experience, we will be back soon.

We had such a beautiful and relaxing time horse riding in this peaceful spot surrounded by stunning views. A special thank you to Avril, who was absolutely lovely and so helpful throughout our visit. I took my daughter and her friends here for her 8th birthday. First time on a horse for most of them. We did the half hour horse ride and tractor ride. All the staff where great and Russell was very informative and went above and beyond to make sure the kids had a great time. I highly recommend Hunter Valley Horse Riding & Adventures! Thanks for a top afternoon.

I recently had the most amazing experience at the HV Horse Riding Farm! I was paired with a gentle mare named Clancy , who was perfect for my skill level. The instructor took the time to explain everything and guided me through the basics of riding, ensuring I felt confident in the saddle. Overall, I can't recommend Horse Riding Farm enough! Whether you're a seasoned rider or a complete novice, this place is a must-visit. I can't wait to come back for more rides and to continue my journey with horses. Five stars all the way!

What an absolutely fantastic horse riding experience! Keeley was an incredible guide – super friendly and made both myself and my mother feel completely at ease. My mum was a first-time rider with limited English, and Keeley took such wonderful care of her, ensuring she felt comfortable and had a truly enjoyable time. Keeley also took some brilliant photos for us and shared them right on the spot, which was such a lovely touch. It was an amazing experience from start to finish, and we can't recommend it enough!

The farm looks amazing! It is surrounded by vineyards and mountains. You can walk around the farm and see many different animals: llamas, ostrich, deers, sheeps, cows, donkeys, turkey, rabbit, guinea pigs, pigs, horses. You can also pay $15 to go around and feed them. They offer many activities: horse riding, Segway tours, archery, axe throwing, clay shooting. We did horse riding and axe throwing and had such a great time! The 1 hour horse ride was in a group of around 10 people through the surroundings. The scenery was beautiful and I really enjoyed the ride. You can't really take pictures as you need to hold the reigns but they take pictures of you at the end. (I'm still waiting to get them after sending two messages) The axe throwing was really fun. We did a few rounds to train and started playing a bunch of different games. I loved that it was outdoors and that it was an hour long session! Lots of time to enjoy the activity.

We did horse ride at Hunter Farm and Adventure centre, our experience was awesome. Staff were friendly and ride was exciting. Parking: Plenty of angle parking available in the site. Booking: Recommended to book online as Sometime they get really busy . Cost: price was fair. Best time to horse ride would be around 9 am in the morning during the summer as it might get hotter later in the days or evening would be ideal time. Toilet cleaning was okay.

Went horse riding here and had a great time! Lovely relaxing but fun ride. The horses were gorgeous and had very fun personalities. The ladies that ran out tour were lovely as well. The farm itself had a bunch of animals to see and very fun decorations - kids would love! Also say hi to Dusty the adorable farm dog!

Amazing experience for my wife and me. Big shout out for our host! Did archery and axe throwing, had wonderful time. Atmosphere and general vibe of the farm is something else, would recommend for everybody!

I and my wife did the one hour horse riding here and it was amazing. The ride was quite calm and enjoyable and rode across the bushes and beautiful wineries. The lady instructor was also very nice and trained us to navigate the horse while riding, which was quite amazing to know. The ride was very smooth.

Amazing Helicopter Experience in the Hunter Valley! We had an incredible helicopter ride over the stunning Hunter Valley, and it was an experience we’ll never forget. Our pilot, Matt, was fantastic friendly, professional, and incredibly informative throughout the entire flight. From the moment we lifted off, he made us feel completely at ease. His commentary added so much to the experience, pointing out key landmarks and sharing interesting facts about the area. The views were absolutely beautiful rolling vineyards, scenic landscapes, and a completely new perspective of the region. Matt’s calm and confident manner made the whole experience feel safe and relaxed. If you’re considering a helicopter ride in the Hunter Valley, we couldn’t recommend this more and be sure to ask for Matt!

We booked a Brewery tour with Aero Logistics for our wedding anniversary. We were greeted by Matt at our accomodation and given a safety briefing before jumping aboard to head to our first destination. We visited two local breweries and enjoyed tastings at both, and a delicious lunch at the second. The experience of travelling by helicopter was absolutely amazing! Matt was so knowledgeable and answered our many questions about flying, and the helicopter we were travelling in. It was a memorable experience and we would highly recommend Aero Logistics.

An absolutely fabulous day out. Our pilot Swav, was professional, courteous and totally safety conscious. His commentary whilst we were in the air was exceptional. As for the lunch at Morines which was organised by Aero Logistics, it was sensational. The menu was great and the service was superb. I cannot praise the package any more than to say it was simply brilliant. We were fortunate to pick a great day for flying too. We will be doing this again one day soon.

We used aero logistics out of the Hunter Valley for a winery/lunch tour. Our Pilot Matt was awesome. He took us to two great locations, Saddlers Creek for wine tasting and Leogate for a three course lunch. The flight was comfortable and we got to see some fantastic scenery and enjoy some exceptional food and wine in style.

The best helicopter ride company in the Hunter. I had a phone call to confirm our booking, which was a good thing to check with your customers. The pilot was amazing, I had 2 young kids with me and the pilot showed us a great enthusiasm to welcome us on board. I had 2 chatterbox kids who don't stop talking, but he was great with them. We were given a great guided tour by air over the Hunter valley. He was kind enough to take us for a longer period than our actual booking period. It was a smooth transaction and very easy to book online.

We had an absolutely outstanding experience at Petersons House restaurant! From start to finish, everything was flawless. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a beautiful meal. The service was impeccable, and the food was simply exceptional. The lamb rack was to die for—perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavour. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and exceeded expectations. The whole dining experience was such a pleasure and the deconstructed lemon meringue was nothing short of sensational – the perfect finish to an amazing meal. Our grandchildren were also so well catered for and entertained with the activity book waiting for them at the table on arrival, which made the experience even more special. Petersons House is a true gem, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be returning!

Had a large group for a birthday lunch, the venue were very attentive and accommodating with any requests. Had the group set menu choices, the food was very good and the service excellent, I had the beef which was delicious and perfectly cooked and I really enjoyed the sauce

Peterson House is an absolute dream to shoot! I love that I can get ceremony shots inside and then change up the lighting with the sandstone chapel outside all in one place. The lighting inside the chapel is pure magic! The team is always fantastic too. Here are a few photos from my last wedding there so you can see what I mean!

I was reserved when I heard we were going to do a gelato and wine tasting but our server Geoff was on point. Very knowledgeable and made the whole experience a bit of fun as well. The pairing of wines were perfect.

It was our first time visiting for wine tasting, and we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who took great care of us with detailed explanations and engaging interactions. A special thanks to Kylie for her thoughtful attention to our puppy. We also really loved the design of the tasting menu. Overall, it was such a delightful experience, and we will definitely be back next time.

We had a fantastic tasting experience at Tulloch! Kylie was incredible—she kept our kids (ages 4, 6, and 8) happily entertained, allowing my husband to fully enjoy the tasting. The kids' tasting option is such a brilliant idea! Kylie also seemed to be a mind reader—she somehow knew exactly which wines weren’t for us, and recommended only the ones we loved. It honestly felt like she knew our taste better than we did! Highly recommend a visit—we'll definitely be coming back. We ended up purchasing more than five wines we truly enjoyed! Big call given normally we are tied to only red from the Barossa but Kylie knew what reds we should try that we enjoy. We want to take you home Kylie!!!

What a day! Did the mystery tasting with my hubby and my boys did the kids and teen tasting (such a great idea). The staff were so beautiful and made the experience extra special. Coco, the winery supervisor truly was a highlight.

We visited Tulloch Wines for a wine and chocolate pairing experience, and it was absolutely delightful. They even offer a juice tasting for kids, which was a thoughtful touch—it allowed us to enjoy our wine without worry. Atmosphere, wines, generosity..incredible! My sis was visiting from Ireland and it was her first time wine tasting and Luke went above and beyond to give us the best experience…tasting so many wines, explaining everything without making you feel like an amateur when asking any questions! We loved the Cab Sav (2019) $55 which we will age for a few more years and try again next time my sister visits! The sparkling was yummy (the first pour we tried was a tad flat so they even opened a new bottle for us to try…love that). This will also age well over a few years and was as good as any from that ‘named region in France!’! The muscat was also awesome and in such a funky bottle…I got one for my father in law…Xmas sorted! We only did 1 or 2 wineries in Hunter as were short on time and I could not have asked for a better experience and memory for my sis and I! Luke you are a legend and honestly made her holiday so memorable. Thanking you from our hearts to yours x

Had an amazing wine tasting experience at Pepper Tree Wines! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. A huge thank you to Mick and Hayden for making the visit so enjoyable their knowledge of the wines and passion for what they do really shone through. They took the time to share insights about the wines, the vineyard, and the winemaking process, while keeping the conversation fun and engaging. Shout out to Mick and Hayden who also went above and beyond to Accomodate for my 2 children and made the visit that extra special. It felt more like chatting with friends than a formal tasting, and their hospitality made the whole experience stand out. Couldn’t recommend Pepper Tree Wines enough definitely a must-visit for anyone in the area! 🍷 If I was to make a small recommendation 2025 Limited Release 'Sticky Pig' Late Harvest Pinot Gris 😉

We did the 4 region wine tasting and loved learning more about wine making in the different areas of Australia. Great experience with great service. Enjoyed each and every wine. Amazing to experience side by side comparisons of vintages.

Most enjoyable wine tasting experience with Luke, he was so knowledgeable and entertaining. We loved the wine we tasted and happy with our purchases. This was also made special because of the beautiful location.

Peppertree Winery is absolutely picturesque, such a beautiful and charming spot in the Hunter Valley. The grounds are stunning and have such a peaceful, welcoming feel. Our wine tasting experience was made even better by Hayden, who was amazing! He was so knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the wines, and made the whole experience feel really personal and enjoyable. Every wine we tried was delicious, and Hayden’s recommendations were spot on. We left with smiles (and a few bottles!) We highly recommend visiting this gorgeous winery!

This was my second visit to the winery, and it was just as wonderful as the first—which is exactly why I brought my friends along this time. We enjoyed a tasting of both wines and condiments, and we were impressed by almost everything we tried. The Moorescato and Muscat Liqueur stood out as our favourites—absolutely delicious! The condiments tasting was also a highlight. Each of us received our own generous plate, which was a thoughtful touch and made the experience even more enjoyable. We were warmly greeted by Stella, the lovely red Kelpie, and it set the tone for a wonderful and welcoming morning. Special thanks to Summer, whose customer service was outstanding. She made us feel right at home—friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely hospitable. We’ll definitely be visiting again. Highly recommended for a relaxing and flavourful wine tasting!

She was so lovely and welcoming whilst having a great knowledge and sharing some interesting facts with us - highlight of our day in Hunter Valley! What a wonderful winery. Deb was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and a beautiful soul. The wines were superb, I loved every one I tried, but especially their Moorescato. The only problem with this winery is we wanted all the wines and all the condiments, sauces and specialty lemonade! Oh, and a perfect setting.

Deb is a wonderful host. She made us feel very welcome and was very knowledgeable about the area and the wines. Stella the dog is a sweetheart also. Great little vineyard with some yummy homemade condiments to compliment their excellent wines. I strongly recommend that you put this small family owned vineyard on your hunter valley map!

Absolutely gorgeous vineyard and family. The chocolate and wine pairings were divine - highly recommend this tasting. Their condiments are also incredible and the spicy grape sauce in particular is a must-have. If you’re ever in the Hunter, this is a very worthwhile stop!

What a great place to start you wine tasting tour. The cold red wines can make your morning in a hot summery day. In addition, the brilliant combination of the wines and chocolates, was an exceptional experience for me; I cannot forget the taste of the aged muscat liqueur. What I saw and taste, just simply showed the owners’ and staffs’ commitment to produce the best quality product. I would love to come back again and again.

An amazing family-owned vineyard that offers some of the best wines of the Hunter region. Highlights include: Stella Sparkle, Press Room G.C.S, Moorescato and Black Sheep Shiraz. When I visited the winery, Summer was our guide for the tasting session. She was so professional and warming at the same time, clearly explaining the production of wines at the vineyard, the history of the vineyard without ever trying to push us to buy anything. Instead, leaving it up to us. We came as normal visitors but left as Moorebank wine club members and a case of twelve bottles. I just have one suggestion that I believe will be relevant in the current climate. It would be great if the winery can install a couple of EV chargers for guests to charge up their cars while visiting. As I understand, many EV manufacturers like Tesla and MG offer free chargers to businesses in order to attract customers. This would be a great initiative and would surely ensure the sustainability credentials of the vineyard. Thank you for a lovely experience. All the best

Had a great experience at Sobels Winery! They offer a fantastic variety of wines, with the Sparkling Shiraz being an absolute standout. The staff was incredibly informative and welcoming, making the tasting experience both enjoyable and educational.

Delicious wine and amazing service. The staff really cater to your wishes and deliver a lovely experience. We were celebrating a friends birthday and walked in on a whim - everyone in our 8 person group ended up buying at least 2 bottles because of how great everything was! Mike and Steve took great care of us and also offered our friend a special gift for her birthday. Thanks for such a lovely experience. Good service is rare to come by and they were fantastic. ☺️

The experience and scenery was lovely. The only issue was that most of the wines we were served had been open for far too long and had gone bad. I'm sure the wines would have been lovely, but unfortunately we did not get to enjoy to experience due to the metallic taste of off wine.

This place is a real gem in the Hunter Valley!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We were surprisingly amazed by the service and quality of the wines 😍 We hesitated to go there as they haven't as many reviews as some others. But don't be biaised by that, please visit them, you won't be disappointed! Service is top-noch, we felt very welcomed from the moment we arrived in the cellar door👌 The owner has a genuine enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge and passion for his wines. He was friendly, funny and went above and beyond to make our tasting a great one 🤩 This is hands down the loveliest and most personalised wine tasting experience we have had in the Hunter Valley! We even tried a port at 200$/bottle and a Gewurztraminer which were not in the tasting menu! 😋 Not only was the service amazing, the wines were just divine🍷 A lot of people mention the quality of the ports but all the wines (whites, rosé, reds) we tried were above expectations. It was even difficult for us to choose one favourite to buy 😂 Each wine was very unique and that is exactly what we loved about Sobels Wines. If you want a genuine experience, I highly recommend you to stop and give them a try! 💖

We came here often when Kevin and his wife opened the winery, the wines were amazing they had some amazing aged ports and sweet reds, however this is no longer the case. We tried different wines and most of these wines tasted old, something somewhere has gone wrong. Some wines smelt sour and almost musky. Their sweet and lovely was absolutely delicious however no longer the case. Their fortified wines were all zeros unfortunately as were their reds. Sobels use to be good but it’s changed it’s lost its charm. Cellar door super dated, especially considering this was considered among the top three with mcguigan and Petersons. It’s also lost all its charm with the people who were there. The fella we dealt with last week made a sexist and racial slur towards my wife and then made inappropriate comments to me. Gone are the glory days I would skip this place all together

Nice cheese and wine pairings, and we appreciated being offered an extra wine to try. The view over the vineyard is lovely and peaceful. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by indifferent service. Staff didn’t check in at all during the tasting, and there was no engagement or follow-up. We had our two kids with us and ordered the children’s juice paddle. They were told it was a “guessing game” and that someone would come back later to reveal what the juices were — but no one ever returned. When we asked another staff member, they simply said they had no idea. Extremely poor form when you’re offering a kids’ experience. The nearby roadworks didn’t help the setting, and the included lollies were nothing special. Not recommended, especially for families.

Easy to book, experience was ready when we arrived. Kids really enjoyed their first experience with a paddle board. They enjoyed guessing the different flavours of their drinks. Cheeses and chocolates were lovely matching the wines.

Puff and pour is a must! The curry puffs paired with the wine were probably the most delicious I’ve ever had, they are cooked in house and authentic. The variety of flavours and taste leaves you wanting more, or the recipe! The children’s paddles were colourful and a big hit for the kids. The estate was a perfect rainy day activity however had lawn games out the front for children to explore and play when the sun is shining. The estate itself is beautiful and welcoming. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable! We will definitely be back! Cannot recommend enough!

Came for the chocolate and wine tasting, staff were really engaging and seemed genuinely passionate about their produce which was lovely. Favourite was the Riesling Solera, don’t let the cognac smell put you off if you don’t like it, it’s delicious !!

Located at Sobels Winery, 5 Halls Road, Polkolbon, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 This is one of the best markets in the Hunter region. It showcases a large selection of arts, crafts, clothing, timber products, jewellery and food items from local artisans. The stall holders are 100% local to the Hunter Valley. The market is dog 🐶 friendly but must be on a leash. The is plenty of parking 🅿️ available on the grounds of the winery. It’s not really wheelchair accessible as the ground is very uneven and can be difficult to push a wheelchair. There is stalls where you can enjoy a bite to eat eg pizza 🍕 cooked on location. There’s approximately 50 stalls at the market each week. There’s also wine tasting available inside the winery. The items on sale are all 100% handmade goods. There are toilet 🚻 facilities available attached to the winery. The markets are held every Saturday from 9.00am until 2.00pm and some Sundays from 9.00am until 2.00pm. I would definitely recommend a visit. There was some really interesting items and it was top quality. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍

Always a nice place to take visitors. The stalls are always changing, and there is always something new to be found. Great variety, great to chat with the stall holders and an overall nice atmosphere. One tip, just drive in and look for parking. If it's full on the verges, chances are there is space at Sobels.

Great market. All products are handmade and prices are reasonable. Beautiful jewellery and perfumed oils and other handicrafts. The coffee was very good and went well with the sourdough, chocolate, espresso, scones.

Gorgeous old school markets. Plenty of opportunities to talk about the products and taste testing is always on offer! If I have a visitor to the area these markets are a standard morning out!

Had such an amazing day, woke up to a surprise birthday and had the opportunity to drive an amazing car to this airport and then fly around experiencing what the redbull flying races do. The day started off with my car breaking down and my almost not getting to the venue. A crisp and clear day, perfect for flying. And it was a great day! I experienced 4Gs and lots of acrobatic manoeuvres. My pilot was great. Explained every move before he executed it to make sure I was feeling well and ready for it. A great experience, a great pilot and a good old Russian plane! I loved the experience and highly recommend it if you live thrill seeking and flying! Thank you for my great flight! 😍🙏

I had a TIF (Trial Introductory Flight) with these guys March this year (2025), then decided to slowly pursue my dream of getting my pilot licence. Several months on, I've enjoyed flying with (and being taught by) both Carter & Amelia and, while I've still got a long way to go, can track the progress I've already made. While I found that initially it was hard to get in touch (I don't think their VM was being managed as well as it could have been), further direct comms through one of the trainers made booking follow-up appointments dead easy. Oh, and if you want to book a School Holiday bundle, it's just a bulk discount for a bunch of lessons, so you're neither locked in to Holiday periods, or being a student! Bankstown might be a closer location for me to go to train, but the drive to Aerohunter is great, the trainers (that I've had, at least) are great and it's better value. Overall, consider this the first place you look to pursue your dream, as I did.

He made sure my dad felt comfortable and safe while still keeping the adrenaline pumping. Our family enjoyed a 30-minute horse ride along a beautiful bushland trail, followed by a self-guided farm tour where we had the chance to feed a variety of animals. It was such a fun and memorable experience! The kids absolutely loved riding the horses, and it was a joy to watch them interact up close with friendly animals like chickens, ducks, donkeys, goats, sheep, llamas, cows, pigs, and even an ostrich. A perfect day filled with nature, laughter, and hands-on learning!

We spent half a day at Hunter Valley Horse Riding and Adventures and honestly, we can’t wait to go back. Margaret and her team were so kind – they treated us like family from the moment we arrived. We did a 30-minute horse ride, played on the go-karts, fed the ducks, went yabbying, had a tractor ride, and even got to pat the bunnies and kittens. We finished the day with a BBQ pack and cooked lunch ourselves, and the sides were so delicious. It was such a wholesome, fun experience for the kids (and us!), and we’ll definitely be returning on our next trip. We also checked out The Thirsty Horse for breakfast the next morning – highly recommend. The kids ran wild in the kids shed while we actually got to sit and enjoy our coffees. Perfection!

I won a voucher to Hunter Valley Horses a couple of weeks ago at Maccas and booked a 1 hour trail ride. It was SO much fun, the staff were so lovely and I just chatted to one of the trainers the whole time and she told me all about each horse and how much she loves them. They care so much for the animals there and it was so amazing, just had THE BEST time!!!! beautiful trail, gorgeous horse just epic. Can’t believe I won it from Maccas too, so awesome. Will definitely be back!! Highly recommend. - Maya G

What a wonderful experience! Took my niece and her Mum from Brisbane for a horse trail ride last Sunday and it was the best. We are all novices and were a little anxious about riding. The team guided us and made us feel very safe plus the horses were very happy and tame. It was a beautiful ride through the countryside with our lovely young gentleman (sorry i forgot his name). He was very sweet and personable and I couldn’t recommend them more highly. Great day out xx

My family and I had an amazing experience with Hunter valley horses on the 2/9 afternoon. I was a first time horse rider and didn’t feel confident riding the horses . Chloe, the trainer was lovely and catering which made me comfortable and calm. She also shared knowledges with me about the horses. Furthermore , the trail was beautiful and the horses were exceptionally trained and clean. Highly recommended and definitely coming back

Had a great experience on our 3-hour horse carriage tour. Jade was a friendly and happy tour guide with excellent photography skills. She gladly catered to our non alcohol request. I loved the horses especially Max and being able to sit at the front. Importantly, they seem to treat their horses well as they rotate their horses so they only work once per week.

Shame the the walks ways are not maintained. Could be a beautiful area if some effort put in. Like cleaned up and made in to a area to put in canoes.

Netty. Was. Here. Expansive park beside the Kitchener Dam. Free BBQ plate and plenty of picnic tables with playground for the little ones. Standing tall in the background is the Poppet Head Mine Pit where the Pit Pones used to work.

Nice little park for a stopover to have a meal. There’s a BBQ and dining area, kids play area and restrooms.

Great park with good facilities. Kids playground is fairly well appointed. You need to get there early on weekends as it's a popular free party venue..... first come first served. There is a concrete path around the park that is good for riding or walking. The poppet head is a remnant of the past local mining industry.

Very family friendly. The playground is a good size and is well shaded. The toilets are well located and the adjacent picnic tables are under cover. The site is encircled by a concrete path that kids can use to ride their bikes or scooters. The information board about the old Aberdare Central Colliery, on which the whole site is built, is dilapidated and in desperate need of repair. The grounds immediately around the Poppet Head are overgrown and the historic piece of mining infrastructure is neglected. It doesn't appear the conservation efforts have progressed since the original work 30 years ago.

What an epic experience! A beautiful morning enjoying the sunrise up over the ridges of the hunter valley with beautiful balloons, of all shapes, colours and sizes. I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a hot air balloon ride, and I have to say, it was one of the most well-organized activities I've ever done. Big shoutout to our guide, Clay! He was absolutely awesome. Super chill, down-to-earth, and full of cool facts about the area. He made the whole experience feel like we were flying with a friend, not just a guide. Plus, he was very professional, cracking jokes while keeping things safe and smooth. You could tell he genuinely loved what he was doing, and that made the whole ride feel even more special. If you're thinking about doing a hot air balloon ride, definitely go for it. And if you’re lucky to go with Clay, you’re in for a fantastic time!

This was a fantastic, exhilarating experience, Balloon Aloft Hunter Valley thank you for such a wonderful fun balloon flight. This company and staff are to be commended for the way they organised this experience. The pilot Blake skilfully sent us through the clouds greeting the sun, the scenery was spectacular and skimming across the trees coming back into land was such fun, he was very knowledgeable and made the entire flight memorable. The crew Jim and Robbie were so helpful and gave clear instructions in a fun humorous way. From the briefing to helping pack up the balloon was epic. The breakfast was delicious too. Would highly recommend Balloon Aloft to anyone wanting a first class experience.

Had a wonderful experience and the flight was perfect. We gathered at 0430 in the morning for an early morning start. Our names were marked off and we were provided with a brief before heading out to the selected launch site. It was wonderful to see the balloons inflated, before we got into the basket and began the flight, rising gracefully into the air. The conditions could not have been better and it was an experience I shall remember fondly. The team at Balloons Aloft are great and our pilot ‘Matt’ excellent. If you are thinking about trying this experience, I thoroughly recommend giving Balloons Aloft a call.

We had a balloon flight today. Steve was our pilot. From the early start until we left after breakfast the team were great, knowledgeable and friendly. It was a wonderful experience and I’d highly recommend doing it.

This was an absolutely amazing experience to share with my children for my 60th birthday. Our pilot Nathan was so professional, informative and an awesome operator, who definitely knew what he was doing ( thank goodness). We flew up from Tasmania and luckily, the weather was perfect. That’s a tick off my bucket list. Thank you so much for the experience!

Had a wonderful hot air baloon experience. Sam, our pilot, is very friendly and made us feel safe by explaining everything we needed to know in detail. Tony assisted with on ground preparations and took some lovely photos of us up in the sky. This is a highly recommended adventure. I got this ride as a birthday gift and you too can gift a ride to a loved one and it will most certainly be a gift beyond value.

My partner and I absolutely loved this, we went one morning and it was canceled due to weather then went again yesterday and it was wonderful!! When it was cancelled it did not bother us at all because obviously it is for safety reasons and if anything it made me feel alot more safe knowing they don’t take chances. I would definitely recommend. I saw some people complaining about the pack up in other reviews but I saw no issues in helping pack up. It was quick and easy, I completely understand why they ask for our help considering its a HUGE ballon, people are just lazy and like to complain..

Amazing segwaying experience !!! So much to see, animals, landscape, everything. Tour guide Adam was excellent, so welcoming, funny and made the tour so enjoyable. highly recommend to absolutely everyone !!!

We did a 30 minutes segway tour today and loved roaming on the segway along the Hunter Valley landscape! I was a bit nervous as this was my first time on a segway. The instructor, Adam, showed us the robes progressively in the two practice zones and took us on fun "tree runs" and more challenging terrains. Big thank you to Adam for making the tour a memorable one!

A group of friends, all but one with previous experience, went out here for our friend's inaugural segway experience. She was terrified. Michael was brilliant, patiently teaching the do's & dont's of segway riding and ensuring our friend had a positive experience. She did! In the meantime he insured that the experienced riders also had a great day. The segways where in great condition and the safety protocols, top notch. Highly recommend & we will be back!

Impossible to get a hold of and customer service is unprofessional. My son wanted a birthday party here and it seems like they don't want any business. Over a month of online enquiries, ignored emails, phone calls either ring out or I get 'we will give you a call back shortly' and never hear anything.

Facilities look very good and new. But, staff and organisations are not aware at all about fairness and children's emotional and psychological needs.

I organised for my daughter to try out a gymnastics class. Lady on phone said yes come in. We drove the half hour there to not be allowed in without a 140 dollar membership..... why would the same lady not say that on the pH? She had a rude attitude and this experience was not honest. She told me on the phone we could. Got there and couldn't. I'd say this is a tacit to make people buy memberships as people have already told their children they can go, they travel there, then staff drop that on the parents. Her teeth were covered is chocolate too. It was disgusting 😒

Parking entrance is actually from Mill Cres, Google map takes you to Short st as final destination, but it is better to approach from Scott st.

We had an amazing 20-minute scenic flight today in the Hunter Valley on a Cessna 172. Our pilot, Luke, was incredible — he took utmost care and made us feel completely safe throughout the flight. Despite the bad weather and extremely windy conditions, which made the ride bumpy, we actually enjoyed it even more because of the thrill! Luke is truly one of the best pilots we’ve flown with. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and exciting experience!

Great flight around Lake Macquarie on Friday for my birthday. Fantastically maintained beautiful Tigermoth, a bit squeezy for me but totally fine! Phil and my pilot Ben were super accommodating and friendly making sure I had a great first open-cockpit experience... VERY recommended! A must do if you have ever thought of it.

My first time flying on a helicopter and the experience was absolutely worth it. We saw the whole area. Our safety instructor Michael was super friendly, he provided us with information about the valley and suggested cool places near the area. Glad we did this and would love to do it again if we come back here.
