Mexican restaurant
Nestled in the Centro Historico, El Presidio Cocina de México is a stunning restaurant housed within a historic 1870s mansion. The enchanting courtyard setting, adorned with lush greenery and tranquil fish ponds, creates an idyllic ambiance for a romantic evening. The menu features elevated Mexican cuisine, including delectable dishes like hamachi sashimi and roasted chicken glazed in vanilla and chipotle.
What an unforgettable evening! Located in Old Town, getting there was a bit of a crazy ride, but once we arrived, it was absolutely amazing. The courtyard setting was warm, inviting, and truly unique. The jazzy American rock music set a fun, vibrant tone, and to our delight, a live saxophonist made the night even more special. The food was spectacular — the poblano soup was the best I’ve ever tasted, and every other dish was equally impressive. The staff were all so happy, welcoming, and accommodating, which made the experience even better. I will always remember this evening. Everything about it was outstanding. Highly recommend!

I recommend going for atmosphere and drinks. The food was too flavorful and intense. Which made it a bad eating experience. We ordered the Pear and Goat Cheese Salad and Laminated Tuna, which on the other hand was lacking something. Food was overall nothing special. It’s quite pricey for what it is. We couldn’t order pasta because they ran out. Drinks were really good, I had a maracuya mezcal and my partner a tasty wine from Coahuila. The chips you get when arriving were good. I would only come back for drinks. Food can improve much more for what they charge.
Valdis N — Google review
Great place. Not enough words to describe it. A 200 year old Spanish architecture house , filled with vegetation inside. Awesome food
Sergio B — Google review
Beautiful courtyard, great food, great service. We ordered the bone marrow appetizer, wrapped it in blue corn tortillas with the salsa and guacamole and it was sublime. The roasted cauliflower steak was delicious for our vegetarian daughter, The steak, shrimp, and pasta and chicken mole was good too.
Denise P — Google review
Ambiance fantastic. Understaffed so service was slow. Maybe due to it being a Monday. Food ok. Presentation nice. Prawns really good. Chicken ok but odd flavor from demi glaze. Drowned the spinach, mushroom and onion flavor away. But will try again. Loved the setting of inside/outside.

Beautiful place for a bite to eat. I went on vacation with my parents who are retired now and it was Perfect place to have a nice conversation.

El Presidio knocks the Mazatlán dining experience out of the park. UPDATE February 2025 We continue to experience Presidio as one of the true highlights of Mazatlán.. Gracias Miguel for proving El Presidio is a truly unique dining experience (actually there are four Miguels in this team.. and they are all true professionals!) with an outstanding kitchen and a wonderful team who are committed to ensuring you will have a fantastic meal! (Breakfast, lunch or dinner! 🙏♥️) We were so impressed on our first visit, last year, we went back two days later.. in both cases the food and the service was just outstanding. When you step into this courtyard it's utterly magical, you will feel like you are on a movie set. And when the food arrives you will realize that, as wonderful as the setting is, it's the food and the service that are the real stars. We cannot say enough good things about El Presidio. They could have succeeded on the Beauty of their setting alone.. but they went much further and made El Presidio a "MUST EXPERIENCE" for anyone visiting Mazatlán.
Heaton — Google review
The atmosphere is lovely, with twinkling lights under a huge tree. The service as attentive and helpful. The food served to my partner was over salted and my own was woefully under seasoned and dry. Come for the Circuses!

Beer hall
Tres Islas Brewery is just one of the many dining options available in the area. The brewery offers a variety of craft beers and a casual atmosphere for visitors to enjoy. With its diverse selection, it's a great spot to unwind and savor some local brews after a day of exploring. Whether you're looking for seafood, vegetarian dishes, or other cuisines, there are plenty of restaurants nearby to satisfy your cravings.
Ok so there’s actually NO food, however I’m going to consider the beers 🍻 as food since there’s no alcohol category. We had 3 beers. A hazy IPA, a dark lager and a Porter. Hands down the best beer I’ve tasted in my entire trip to Mazatlan. I wish that I had found this place sooner! The place filled up around 4:30, which resulted in a nice buzz of conversation. The staff was friendly and willing to engage with me about beers. Although I wasn’t there for long, definitely worth the trip. Take the Sabalo Centro bus to get there on the cheap.
Christoffel D — Google review
Great vibe, lots of ex pats which tells me that they are doing well. Beer were really good. Bartender was very friendly and we had a good time.
Glenn B — Google review
This one is close to downtown and a much smaller one than the new one. It was filled with mostly American during our visit. The staff speaks English and is friendly. We got a flight and they were pretty good. I wish they have the triple roast martini like the other one.
Bonnie Y — Google review
Tres Islas Brewery has a west coast vibe to it. A nice cool place to have good beer. The beer experience is reflected in their IPA and hoppy pils. Great variety and great service, we found 2 solid beers I would come back for. Love the option of 32-ounce crowler can of beer to go. They don’t have food however the place next door is amazing. I did appreciate them allowing the restaurant to serve us at their window bar.
Irvin S — Google review
A nice brewery just up the road from the cruise pier. I had a nice porter and got a t-shirt. They serve no food and take credit cards. I would return. .
Stewart L — Google review
In the shadows of a large brewery, this outstanding microbrewery blew us away. We tried each of their beers and were left wanting more of every one of them. It is cool to see microbrews in other areas and this little brewery was such an enjoyment. Go there. If you are at port on a cruise, it’s an EASY walk and some food near by. When we were in there, a tour stopped by as well so maybe check it out. Their session IPA was my favorite.
Dakota K — Google review
Some of the best craft beers South of the Border. I've been to a few craft breweries in Mexico and this one rates one of the best. A small local brewery that makes delicious brews. I tried the IPA and the Scottish. They were both phenomenal. Must try, bit it's a tiny location.
Leonard R — Google review
Very great place. Small, but very talented craft brewery. Great beer, lovely taproom, friendly staff. Good place to grab a good beer or taste them all in a flight.

Casa 46 is a luxurious restaurant situated in the heart of Mazatlan's historic district, offering an exceptional dining experience. The chef, Marino Maganda, continuously enhances the menu with unique appetizers, exotic salads and soups, and delightful desserts. The bar boasts an impressive array of spirits while the dining room showcases a floor-to-ceiling selection of wines.
Perfect from beginning to end! The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was amazing! We sat upstairs and overlooked the plaza. I had the duck carnitas enchiladas with mole sauce, and my husband had petroleros style shrimp. If I could have kicked the plate, I would have! I would definitely return!!!
Nancy L — Google review
Beautiful setting on a second story porch over the Plazuela Machado. We were here for dinner during Dios de los Muertos, thinking we would have a nice view of the parade, but that was not the case. Trees and distance made the view not great... But, the food and service was great and it is upscale, costs on par with fine American restaurants. Drinks were unique and delicious, a roasted tomato bisque was yummy. Chips and salsa was very good, but careful with the one in the green cup, muy caliente! Our dishes, the pollo in pink molle and shrinp in black squid ink were very good. Service was very professional, with two servers for each table. Reservations online required, we saw people get turned away for dinner service without a reservation.
John F — Google review
Great time and atmosphere. The hero of the meal was the guacamole and seafood appetizer. The duck enchiladas were dry and the sauce was over powering the flavor. The cheese cake was more like a pound cake.
Justin S — Google review
A beautiful setting, fantastic service. The food was great. Maybe not outstanding but the whole package made for a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this.
Tana E — Google review
Phenomenal! Booked a reservation for Casa 46 through our resort, Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay. With our all-inclusive package, we paid a small surcharge (350 pesos) which allowed us each an appetizer, main, and dessert - everything was delicious. Service was excellent and the setting was quaint. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant!
Makayla T — Google review
The waitress who introduced herself was Linda and was excellent, The atmosphere was subdued not overly loud, people actually got dressed up. The food was cooked well, presented well on the plate. The selection of Wines by the glass was not very extensive. A good selection of Sparkling / non Sparkling Water. This is not a cheap restaurant so be prepared. I Recommend this Restaurant. 👍

Excellent service, great food and lovely view. Simple things like salsa were more flavorful than what we've had in other places. Fine dining prices but totally worth it for a date night!!

What a delightful spot! The food was top tier and the service was excellent. The beef was cooked perfectly and the duck risotto was phenomenal!
Geoff B — Google review
I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. The food was incredible, I got the “Arm drip sandwich” and it was phenomenal, the meat was very tender, the bread was crispy, and the salad was perfect. The portion size and flavour is worth the price. I also had an “Old fashioned” bourbon cocktail and it was perfection in a glass. The service was very good, staff were very friendly, they spoke both english & spanish. The food did not take too long to arrive as well. The atmosphere and ambiance was very nice as well, quite classy. It was not noisy but we went during its off peak hours. My family had some other dishes and they were perfect as well. I definitely recommend coming to this restaurant for a good experience.
AlexC — Google review
Epic culinary discovery here at Hector’s! Yum yum! Best seasoned tender pork chop with a puréed sweet potato concoction on the planet, followed by the mesmerizing volcano chocolate fondant cake and ice cream. :) Great old-style building with an intimate ambiance and their service is stellar.
Mike B — Google review
What a delightful dining experience. They gave our family of 9 a nice space to enjoy and not talk over everyone in the place. The specialty cocktails, Mexican Mule, Wild Turkey Manhatten, were tasty and the meals were incredible, from the steaks with thin cut delectable fries, the Saffron risotto with Pork Shank and the mexi-spaghetti with prawns, had a nice spicy kick. I wound up ordering 3 Ham and cheese sandwiches for a tuna fishing trip. Also, the dessert, the chocolate cake with a toffee caramel sauce a la mode was bowl licking fantastic. Highly recommend.
Bryan S — Google review
Delicioso!! Excellent pork shank & tasty risotto. The filet was beautifully done. Potatoes were a touch dry but nothing the mushroom gravy couldn’t fix.
Jenny H — Google review
Excellent!! Five stars all the way. Great ambiance. Excellent margaritas. Tortellini was the best pasta dish I've ever had. Hubby loved his house made honey ham sandwich on a great bread. Service fantastic!!! We'll be back.

We spent a wonderful evening at Hector’s Bistro. The food and service were amazing and everyone had a great time. After our meal we went up to the patio for dessert and drinks and listened to Lola Parks perform. What a great entertainer. It was one of those magical nights and we would like to thank everyone at Hector’s and Lola for making it happen.
Lyle P — Google review
Located in the beautifull Old Mazatlan Center, this Bistro is an Oasis, smartly decorated and cozy at the same time, with frigid A/C to get a break from the heat. We had the pasta dishes which where full of flavour, served in a copious manner, with copious sauce and ingredients. Service was prompt and discreet, and desert was nice. Will come again!

Service, location, and food are all great. Get the ahi tuna wonton tostada. All the tacos we had were also amazing, but the shrimp tacos won the day for us. Easily our favorite meal of the seven day trip.

Fantastic place. Mediterranean themed with great food and friendly helpful people. Had the Greek salad, salmon carpaccio and basil martini. Highly recommended.

Went here for my birthday. The Greek salad was lovely, my appetizer was amazing but the fish tacos were a little dry. Would eat here again, just not the fish tacos.

We had the TOMATO& AVOCADO TOWER ,drizzled with fresh herbs emulsion and a touch of balsamic glaze. Very GOOD. Also had the TUNA CARNITAS TOSTADAS that came with avocado, citrus, carrots, and chili ancho oil. Also very good. Really a 4.5 star restaurant. Unfortunately we never made it back there for dinner. Another wonderful evening at Water’s Edge. Madaí and her friends played impeccably and filled the back room. Top notch staff, music, food and experience.

Mariscos Piquillas is a renowned seafood restaurant in the port, offering a diverse menu of traditional and modern seafood dishes prepared by Chef Pancho using the freshest ingredients. From ceviches to tacos and tostadas featuring shrimp, fish, octopus, clams, oysters, and callo de hacha, the restaurant promises an innovative take on seafood cuisine. Visitors praise the presentation and unique flavors of the dishes that stand out from traditional Mazatlan seafood offerings.
The fish n chips are the catch of the day. Today was pescado Corvina. One of the best fish and chips I have had in a long time. The micro brewery next door let us have the full mariscos piquillas experience allowing the server to attend us there. Busy restaurant and everything cooked fresh adds to the wait time. Nice hole in the wall.

Just a couple doors down from Tres Islas Brewery on Av Miguel Alemán is this hidden gem of a mariscos spot called Mariscos Piquillas. Hard to believe it’s been here for about 4 years and we never noticed it until Erick, the chef, and Almando, our server, invited us to stop by after one of our brewery visits. Craving mariscos, we tried Mariscos Piquillas — and it did not disappoint! Service was excellent, the menu has a great variety, and the food was fresh, flavourful, and really well done. Best of all, it’s only steps away from Tres Islas, so you can easily enjoy both in one outing. Highly recommend giving it a try! Recommended: Tacos Barbacoa de Atun Baja Taco Catch of the day. Taco Pajarito. Muy Fishy. Loved it Smoked but not cooked Marlin. Hard to find in Mazatlan and simply delicious Tres Islas IPA beer. Yummy

Didn’t take any pics but this place was on point. Our favorite were the smoked tuna flautas. I’ll be back for sure My favorite seafood place in Mazatlán because the innovate the food to the next level. Handmade blue corn tortillas set an extra level for all the amazing tacos they have. The tuna barbacoa taco is my all time favorite I never miss it every time I come here. Specially because as added bonus they have Tres Islas brewery next door making the perfect pairing

Been here a few times and food was always good. Went today, the menu lists vino blanco bottle at 400 pesos so I ordered a bottle with my food. When the check came it was priced at 720 pesos. I asked and was told that’s the price. I have liked the place and like the food but leaves bad taste when you are charged nearly double the menu price. Make sure you ask before ordering..

The best seafood tostadas and tacos you can find in Mazatlán. It’s a small, tiny restaurant tucked away on a quiet street and is great for a quick bite to eat or to bring a few friends for drinks and tacos. An absolute must on a visit to Mazatlán!

Vista de Palma, located in Mazatlans Olas Altas area, is a popular skybar offering stunning sunset views. While it may not hold the top spot for sunset viewing, it remains a favorite hangout spot with its limited but delicious menu featuring sliders and cold brews from Tres Islas. Visitors can enjoy the spectacular views while savoring dishes like hummus with bread and sirloin tacos.
My husband and I had drinks/apps while watching the sunset on our last night in town. Wed was 50% off everything-so that was a nice treat. Great music and vibe. Delish cocktails and apps. Lovely view of the sunset.

This place was great! We stumbled upon it walking from Machado Plaza to the waterfront. We were seated immediately on their rooftop and the views were spectacular. There was a wide assortment of food options. We shared the hummus with bread and the sirloin tacos. The meat was so tender and juicy and not overcooked. We had several cocktails, margaritas and vodka with mineral water. Our server was attentive, his name was Brandon. He was very welcoming and provided great hospitable service. The views were to die for. Just sad I didn't get photos of our food.

Cool rooftop bar with a dj, service was a bit of a let down. Only menu option is single QR code from the bar person. Servers were disorganized. Took 15 mins or so of waiting until we had to flag down a server. Pizza I ordered took longer than other entrees received it last. Asked for a to go box and had none. Bit of a disappointment. Music a bit too loud, couldn’t hear friends. Is this a restaurant or club- pick a lane.

Creative cocktails, and a beautiful setting to enjoy the sunset. A talented DJ and a great vibe made for a festive friendly fun evening.
Matt M — Google review
View and music was great. Definitely a bar Scene that I think is treated like a club later in the evenings. It was before the crowd came, just around sunset. Full bar but could Not order a call drink was only allowed to order off the menu. Funny how you have a full bar but can not make a Long Island iced tea, even if I tell you the recipe for ingredients you already have? Unexpected and not acceptable for a bartender. We waited 10 min for the server to come back and take our order and he never came so we left.
Navs L — Google review
This place is definitely a "pay per view" bar and the view really isn't worth it. However that's not my main complaint; drinks are watered down and/or the bartender is new/inexperienced. I'm sorry my man but if you can't make a Negroni or pour a proper beer you need to find another job. Service started off well however drinks took well over 10 minutes to be served and there were only 4 other tables when we got there. Food took an extra 35 minutes. To too it off when we ordered the check, waitress told me that the "expected" típ was well over 20%. Gave her an evil stare and she changed her tone to "suggested" tip. Then when it came to charging the card she kept removing the card during the process si it would detect a "faulty chip" told her to stop doing that as well. Bottom line if you do decide to come order bottled beer

When we first showed up (early) to get a good seat to watch the Dia de los Muertos parade, we were told all the seats by the edge were reserved. And that it was a special day for “our people”. I’ve been coming to Mazatlan for 38 years, but I get it. We let it ride and while people came and went from the “reserved” seats, we ended up getting permission from the manager to stand in the DJ booth to watch the parade so it all ended ok. But initially we felt very snubbed and our waiter, while a nice kid, was extremely awkward all night long. The bar will leave black residue on whatever touches it (hopefully comes out of my white shirt). The music pre-DJ was unimaginative EDM. Food was very good and nice portion size. Drinks were also good. The view is fantastic. The DJ had some fun mixes of older pop/rock and EDM. Started bad but ended up being a nice night.

We will never return. Excessive music volume is not only unpleasant for listening, it disrupts normal conversation which is the reason people come to bars - to talk while enjoying a drink! This is not a music hall, and even it it was, extreme volume damages hearing, permanently, and shouldn't be allowed anywhere. As full-time residents in the Centro, noise like your "entertainment" is one of the major issues that impacts an otherwise high quality of life here.

La Casa Country is a Mexican restaurant with extensive steakhouse and vegetarian menus. The decor includes ranch themes and wood paneling, giving the restaurant an inviting feel. It offers validated parking, free wifi, and ample seating for large groups.
We had dinner here on arrival in Mazatlan at the recommendation of a local and the food, especially the carne asada, was so good, we came back again and had the Supreme Grill for 4 of us plus the filet mignon and steak fillet for the others. Also ordered the house guacamole and fried tripe and pork cheeks for starters. Everything was well flavored and my kids announced that this was the best steak house in Mazatlan.

We enjoyed chicken fajitas. The service was great. We especially liked the way our server prepared our salsa at our table exactly to our liking.
Jim E — Google review
Greetings from the Pacific Pearl, Mazatlan! When I visit and I do frequently, seafood is my favorite cuisine to gorge on. It's everywhere here in the shrimp capital of the world. But after a few days, I have to mix in a steak or two to balance my taste buds. After my first visit to La Casa Country, I can assure you it won't be my last. After spending over 20+ years as a butcher, back in the day, I know my steak cuts well. For me and most people who eat beef, the Ribeye/prime rib is king. Medium is how I enjoy it best, and it was cooked to perfection. Jesus, the server, did an amazing job, and the entire staff was friendly and inviting, including the lot security guard. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the dining room was clean. I gave it a well-deserved 5 star rating!
Juanjohn B — Google review
We enjoyed our 18th wedding anniversary dinner here. The Negative: Poor accessibility. There is a very poor design for wheelchair users to access the restaurant. The "ramps" are too steep (and split into two) and requires the one pushing to have extraordinary muscles. An electric chair or scooter would not be able to ascend. Inside the restaurant, a wheelchair user can only sit in the entrance section, as it requires stairs to enter down into the main seating area. The table was not appropriate for a wheelchair, so the user is forced to sit an uncomfortable distance from the table. Fortunately, I was able to transfer to one of their chairs for the meal. The Positive: The food was good (not outstanding, but very tasty) and cooked perfectly. The salsa, which was made at the table, was delicious and the chips were fresh. Our server was attentive and friendly. We don't drink alcohol, but the iced tea was tasty and they do have Coke Light. We cannot afford this kind of expense more than once or twice a year on our budget, but this was well worth it. We are legal residents, so we hope someday to return for another meal.

Have been going to Mazatlan every year for 20 years. We decided to give Casa Country another try (tried +/- 10 years ago. We were a Table of 12. Ordered 4 Rib-eye. 3 of them "plus" and 1 select. I believe I received the wrong one. Steaks were all different sizes and thickness. Ordered chicken wings for an app and received chicken fajitas. Waiter claimed i said fajitas (im fluent in Spanish). Not impressed with the steak. Lacked flavor. Waiters were pretty good and they ended up bringing the wings out as well. Refried Bean dip, served with chips, was delicious along with the 3 salsas made tableside. Will I return? Not sure. So many other restaurants to try.
Sancho P — Google review
Isaac was a great waiter/host. Here they make the salsa tables ideas to your specifications on heat. They also serve other things table side such as the fried bananas. It's a great show the food is very good, not quite exceptional but it was the best and least tough steak we have had in Mexico. The 80s country music does eventually grate on the nerves a bit, but it is supposed to be a country steakhouse.

The food at this place is very good. The staff was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed everything. It was delicious and everything was perfectly cooked. Friends, breakfast by the beach is my ideal meal. So, I decided to take a stroll from my house to Diego’s Beach & Grill this morning, and I was not disappointed for one minute or one bite! It is a popular place, and I understand why. The staff was attentive and polite. The food and drinks were fresh, hot, and well prepared. The place was clean, well spaced for comfort, and the views were, as you can see, just as delightful as the meal. In short, a 5 star review is in good order. Lety's Restaurant at Stone Island is a popular spot where visitors can spend the entire day enjoying the beach and delicious food. The restaurant offers a variety of drinks, appetizers, and entrees at reasonable prices. While the food is described as good but not exceptional, favorites include spicy mahi-mahi and coconut shrimp. The service quality varies but overall provides a pleasant experience.
The food is excellent - can't beat there coconut shrimp and beef fajitas! Super friendly and very attentive staff. Best place to take your family and friends when they visit you in Mazatlan. The vendors are frequent, but a friendly, "Ahorita, no. Gracias!" is enough to have them move on. They're working hard... that's to be respected. Lety's is our go-to spot, and that will never change.

Lots of amazing food to choose from. Wonderful service and location. Great prices. Great beach access. Too many salesmen walking around selling junk and souvenirs. Cash only.

Order the coconut shrimp! I had high expectations and it delivered. Plan to spend the day/afternoon here. Yes the service can be a bit slow when it’s crowded but kick back and spend the day at the beach! Stray cats begging for table scraps was a bonus. For what it’s worth there were a lot of vendors coming by but they weren’t pushy. Keep in mind it is cash only so don’t forget your pesos!
Erica T — Google review
[New review:] Today I became a former customer of Lety's. As I approached the restaurant with a friend I was told we would each be subject to a 300 peso minimum charge. Lety's is one of over a dozen places on Stone Island, and what set them apart was their great customer service. Now that's gone and so am I. If you're reading my review and want a different place to go - Velero has just as good food as Lety's and they aren't charging a minimum for the privilege of being their customer. Sad day for me. [old review:] Favorite place to watch the world go by.

Great place to spend the day! Take advantage of getting a message from the lady from the beach. Food is excellent! Staff is very helpful. We LOVE our time there!
Julie B — Google review
Service here was good. Food was really good for the prices. Everything was great until time to pay. They brought the check in pesos so we converted to us dollars using google conversion and they said we shorted them. They told us that the exchange rate is different in Mazatlan and the US dollar was worth less there. There was a big difference. Make sure to take pesos if you go here because they will rip you off on the conversions.
Sherri A — Google review
I would not recommend this place they do not honor the current exchange rate. When we got there we asked if they take credit cards they said yes. We are hung out all day despite the fact that jelly fish were outrageously bad my niece and 4 other kids and several adults got stung/bit it was terrible. Jose our waiter was outstanding but then the bill came and we paid in cash, the owner came over and said we were shirt 40 on a 300 tab he said his exchange rate was different so then we said ok we will pay with our card he said sorry our system isn’t working now after he saw we had cash. There out plenty of other places to chose from than to be treated like this. The on top of that they had stray dogs and cats all over the place, under our feet and under the table.

La Jaiba Pata Salada is a must-visit seafood restaurant located right on the beach in Mazatlán, where the vibrant atmosphere and stunning views create an unforgettable dining experience. This open-air café offers a delightful selection of family-style seafood dishes, with their standout camarones a las brasas being particularly popular among patrons. The lively ambiance is enhanced by live banda music that fills the air, making it an ideal spot for those looking to enjoy good food and great company.
We love to spend a few hours here having a cold beer and Tacos on a table by the beach. Seems always busy and the food is great.
Shawn M — Google review
Full disclosure - I am not a fan of banda music. However, if you’re looking for a great and lively dining experience on the beach, at the malecon, La Jaiba Pata Salada is the fresh seafood restaurant for you. Also, live banda music is usually performed. So, warning, it can get loud at this open setting, no-glass window palapa style restaurant. My partner and I were introduced to La Jaiba restaurant by a pulmonia driver in 2019. Whenever we return to Mazatlan, we try to make it a point to visit La Jaiba. And, without a doubt, our friends that are fans of banda music, were immediately drawn and hyped up about the restaurant. It is now their go-to on-the-beach dining on the malecon when they visit Mazatlan. La Jaiba has plenty of tables and chairs to choose from, on the beach and inside the restaurant. Generally, we prefer dining inside and not on sand. We still get great views of the ocean and sunsets from where we sit. Do expect lots of beach vendors soliciting especially if you’re dining on the beach or close to the outer edge of dining area. La Jaiba has a variety of tasty dishes to choose from including cocktails. Still being a creature of habit, I decided to change up my mix ceviche dish to a grilled shrimp. I must say, I liked it. It was delicious and I’m glad I ordered it. We had visited La Jaiba restaurant this past March and then again early April. Both dining experiences have been good but I must say, our server Anabelle was a superstar. She was accommodating, polite and friendly. Busy as the place was, she managed an all smile attitude, taking care of other’s requests, including our table. From beginning to end, Annabelle was attentive. Needing to catch our flight back to San Diego, we had ended our afternoon in good spirits. La Jaiba, once again, did not disappoint. Our traveling group also agreed 👍🏼

We visited a Mexican restaurant called La Jaiba Pata Salada a two weeks ago and I must say it was an amazing experience. The restaurant had a beautiful view and lively atmosphere with music playing on the beach which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant offered a wide range of Mexican cuisine options with a lot of seafood which was reasonably priced, and the portion sizes were just right. The service at La Salada was excellent, the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit, and they were quick to accommodate any special requests that we had. Overall, I would highly recommend La Jaiba Pata Salada to anyone looking for a restaurant with delicious food, a lively atmosphere, and great authentic music. It is a perfect spot to enjoy a day/night out with friends or family or even a romantic evening with your significant other.

Margaritas were good. Had the Imperial shrimp, the dona problemas (Mrs problem?) Ceviche. Both were very good. An oyster shot, which was also good. A loud, mexican atmosphere. Victor our server was fantastic.
Badge 7 — Google review
Waiter took too long to take our order. Plus, the food arrived after an hour. We asked for the whereabouts of our food after a substantial amount of time and were disregarded with phrases such as, “We are very busy tonight,” which just indicates that we are not as significant as the other customers. This was especially noticeable when newly arrived customers received their meals after we had been waiting for over 45 minutes. When I finally received my order, it was made improperly; my camarones el faro should have had corn but that was missing. In addition, an hour of waiting granted me the soggiest piece of toast. La Jaiba Pata Salada’s lack of communication and incompetence left myself and my family with unsatisfied appetites and another restaurant to add to my “avoid at all costs” list. (White drink is lemonade)
Bryant N — Google review
The food was Ok but the house Banda they have inside were scamming people of their price and the agreed time. DONT BOOK THE BANDA INSIDE! Get the ones from the beach they're more humble. The dudes inside were acting like they were in Recodo or something. The Conga player/manger was the one robbing time "El Repretranzante" le puse de apodo. WOULDN'T RECOMMEND. They didn't play well either they need practice they couldn't play classic Recodo songs and that's mind blowing because they're in the Banda capital of the world. And I know what I'm talking about because I play music as my side hustle in L.A. Pata Salada should change there name to Vibra Salada because that how I felt leaving there.

Nice little restaurant right on the beach. I got a seafood sampler about six different meats. I'm sure the menu said but as I was eating it I didn't know what they were except for the shrimp and slice of the leg with the suckers on them. I assume those were octopus or squid. It was put in a opened up coconut as a serving Bowl. People were nice and friendly and service was quick enough.

We were greatly overcharged for 2 dishes of ice cream, each containing 2 scoops. The bill was for $428.00 Pecos. The bill read $107.00 Pecos per scoop. We questioned the amount with the waitress and were told that it was organic ice cream. The waitress checked with someone and came back with the bill. We paid the bill, will not go there again and told our friends. We have never paid that exorbitant an amount for 2 ice creams.

This restaurant is better than 4 stars, just not 5. The owner is friendly and personable. Because molcajete is among my favorite meals, it's the only item I've ordered here - and while fine, not equal to the best. The other meals ordered by our party were at least as good. Recommended.

Seafood restaurant
El Sinaloense Olas Altas is a vibrant gem in Mazatlan that perfectly encapsulates the local culture with its fresh seafood, lively banda music, and refreshing beers. While some may find the music a bit loud, it adds to the authentic atmosphere for seafood enthusiasts. The restaurant is renowned for its legendary tuna ceviche and other delectable dishes that truly showcase Sinaloan flavors.
Your friend recommended this restaurant, je comes about once a week for lunch. The guacamole was so smooth & delicious. The shrimp chimms were tasty. The tuna tostada was great. Everyone cleared their plates. The view is wonderful too.

A Taste of Authentic Sinaloa: El Sinaluense Olas Altas Delivers! My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Sinaluense Olas Altas in Mazatlan, and it was an absolute culinary delight! If you're searching for genuine Sinaloan flavors, look no further. This restaurant truly captures the essence of the region's cuisine. We started with the almejas rellenas (stuffed clams), and they were simply divine. Each clam was perfectly prepared, showcasing a harmonious blend of fresh seafood and traditional seasonings. The flavors were vibrant and authentic, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality. For my main course, I opted for the fried fish, and I was equally impressed. The fish was cooked to perfection – crispy on the outside, yet tender and flaky within. The seasoning was spot-on, enhancing the natural sweetness of the fish without overpowering it. What truly stood out was the attention to detail in the presentation. Each dish was thoughtfully arranged, adding to the overall dining experience. It's clear that El Sinaluense Olas Altas takes pride in serving not just delicious food, but also visually appealing meals. Beyond the exceptional food, the prices were incredibly reasonable. We felt we received excellent value for the quality and quantity of food we enjoyed. Without hesitation, we wholeheartedly recommend El Sinaluense Olas Altas to anyone visiting Mazatlan. It's a must-try for those seeking an authentic taste of Sinaloa. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Mazatlan!

Awesome vibe, energy and service. The portion sizes are very generous. Two thumbs up!!! 5 stars for sure.

One star because after eating here I ended up at the urgent care with really bad food poisoning. I can say the food was good!

Came a bit before they opened but they served us anyways. Got fried shrimp basket and fries. Plenty for both. ~15 usd and delicious

Staff was very welcoming and helpful. We wanted to sit upstairs and a gentleman helped us with our stroller. Also they had great food options.
Alejandra M — Google review
For 3-4 people looking at about $50-$60USD, Upstairs music heavy, down stairs more tame. Michelada tarros good bang for your buck. Portion friendly you’ll get what you pay for. Tuna dishes are good. Shrimp are large. Will go again.
Jesus — Google review
Update: We tried it two more times. Once at night and once during the day. The music was a lot more tame and we were able to enjoy some of the live music. It was loud, but not so loud that it hurt; the sound check seemed more reasonable. The service was attentive both times. They bring out a cup of complimentary broth to start. I did not like how sweet my piña colada was, and the servers were kind enough to add more ice for me. The shrimp were large and tender too. Great view, location, and awesome place for lunch I think. When I didn’t like A lot of extremely loud music; if you’d like a conversation this may not be your first pick. We ordered a fish ceviche and shrimp ceviche. The shrimp was better but the fish was not good at all. My partner is not a foodie and will always finish a plate of ceviche, yet could not eat it. Seems like a good place for a drink and live music with friends going out for the evening

Navegante Brewery is more of a bar than a restaurant, but they do serve delicious bar food. Their pizzas are highly recommended and go well with their crisp beers. It's one of the few places in Mazatlan that brews its own beer, and they're doing an impressive job. The establishment has a small brewery inside and offers three types of beer on tap. They could consider adding bottled options as well.
Some very good beers. Didn't have a chance to try any food but they have some good choices on the menu. Great location right on the Malecon. We were lucky enough to be there on Fat Tuesday and the floats were lined up outside.
Glenn S — Google review
We stopped for a few pints and a quick bite to eat. The bartender was having a few issues to deal with so it took a little bit to get our beers and food order which he apologized for. The Hazy IPA was fantastic! One of the better beers I have had. We ordered Nachos, which were ok but a small portion for the price. I will definitely have the Hazy again. Nice place to visit if strolling the Malecón.
Glenn B — Google review
This was a great find! This place is right off the Melecon and they actually have parking in front. They have tables or you can sit at a bar height table that runs along the front window so you can look out on the Malecon and the ocean. They also have outside seating. There was a good selection of beer and I had a Tequila, strawberry lemonade drink that tasted great on a hot day! I had the crunchy chicken sandwich and it was very good. They served it with a huge piece of chicken! My husband had the pulled pork sandwich. The sauce they used was delicious and they served it on grilled Texas Toast! This was a first for me and it was amazing!! A hamburger bun will never be good enough any more! What stole the show was their boneless chicken wings! So much flavor! We will go back and order the wings! You should definitely check it out!

Amazing beer with amazing people who are super kind. Angel was Amazing! We had a wonderful time. So incredible and willing to share local information. The Brewmaster gave us a special tour of their brewery and we were so impressed with their set up and special water they use for their beer. Very cool! Their Hazy IPA is amazing. Ya got to try it! You can even buy beer to go in a growler or cans. They also have some amazing food. Their Sashimi was delicious and their spicy tuna was amazing! We'll be back!

My favorite craft beer joint on the malecon, best views, great beer & amazing staff! Some suggestions for Management- offer full selection of beers, always missing 3-4 beers, also you have a beautiful Patio - decorate it with plants 🪴 & lights, you have the best/no. 1 location of all the breweries in Mazatlan, take advantage of it!

If you're on the hunt for stunning ocean vistas and mouthwatering aguachile in Mazatlan, Fishermans is your go-to destination. Nestled along the malecon, this beachside eatery stands out with its vibrant tri-color aguachile that promises to delight your palate. Recently, it has become a unique spot featuring both a restaurant and daybeds, perfect for soaking up the sun.
3 for 1 drinks, amazing staff! Delisous food!
Kelly S — Google review
Nice location. You can enjoy a nice ocean sunset while supping on your favourite cold drink. Food is good, portions are a bit smaller. Many guests enjoyed live music
Valery P — Google review
Update: looks like the only central spot with a restaurant and daybeds now. ordered a Spanish filete, the veggies came out cold with undercooked carrots. The rice was flavorful but cold as well. The fish was warm with a lightly flavored buttery sauce. Tbh, the mushrooms were rancid. However, the service was attentive and the view was nice and relaxing. Below is the previous review. Well thought out space. Plants, lights, wooden chairs, etc. Sad we didn’t find it earlier as we’ve made our way down trying spots along the beach. Service was good. You may get interrupted a lot by people passing by (wkds esp) but it’s accepted here. They ask you not to order Banda. Was able to order a buttery Cajun sauce that you rarely find on menus here, for my seafood. They also have some items you don’t really find on the beach, like pasta and shrimp and guac inside a flaky tortilla reminiscent of a southwestern style quesadilla. Shots were not watered down. Frozen drink was a little sweet but all else was great.
Navs L — Google review
I love the staff, and have enjoyed many a meal here, but today was not a good day for a meal at Fisherman's. My husband loves their Alfredo dishes, but the one today was just weird. When delivered, the first sign was the color of the sauce. It was brown, not white. And the taste was was more like teriyaki noodles. We later found out it was made with oyster sauce. I ordered the fish burger. Another disappointment. Rather than the normal breaded fish fillet, this one had pieces of fish chunks, which kept calling out of the bun. The tarter sauce had too much mayonnaise and and red pieces that could have been bell pepper, but packed the tartness of typical tarter sauce. Hopefully, the next visit will be back to the dishes we enjoy.
Rachel J — Google review
Good food, amazing views right on the water and fantastic service. One of the best things was there was no loud music or performers inside, so it was easy to relax and talk with my friends.

Walked the beach from end to end this morning and looked at all the beach bars. The curb appeal was great at Fishermans. Stopped for drinks and a ceviche. Ordered the mixed which was to be 3 seafood items, came with the current catch of 5 different preparations. Shrimp, scallops, tuna, octopus and cooked shrimp. Plus all the sauces and condiments. Fed 3 of us for lunch. What a great value, and great location after getting our steps in.

Cervecería Bichola is a trendy brewpub situated on Ejercito Mexicano Avenue, offering a modern and stylish setting. The name is a playful nod to local slang. While some visitors found the beer selection to be average, others praised the fantastic variety offered in the sampler. The ambiance is described as friendly, with an attractive aesthetic adding to its appeal.
The location is absolutely beautiful, love the aesthetic. All the beers we had on the sampler were fantastic, but I particularly liked the pilsner and the IPA (much more of a traditional, British IPA than a North American).

Okay craft brewery in town. Nice bar set up. The beers were okay, but nothing stood out. Some okay beers/some not so well thought beers. We were the only ones there on an afternoon and the girl behind the bar wasn’t too attentive. It definitely has potential.
