Although the "alberqa" wasn't open, the site there and around was so beautiful. Truly enjoyed visiting and highly recommend

Such a great idea to have a swimming pool that's filled by the tide! We didn't get in, but it looked very fun. There is a slide that doesn't seem to be in use, and I feel a little queasy about going in bare footed. However, the kids were having a blast and if I'd had my bathing suit I definitely would have gone for it. Going back next week to give it a try.

By far my favorite place in Mexico! I love the weather and food and the people are so friendly . Its not a big tourist place which is nice because you get to enjoy the scenery and just relax. The also have a place called stone island which is a great beach . They serve some of the freshest seafood dishes here as well.
Shanna C — Google review
It's about 6 miles long in total. Great place to walk, take in sites, restaurants, shopping. Fun place to chill with a 6 pack, take pics or go for jog. You can walk it or grab a taxi. Goodtimes.
Manny A — Google review
It's long.... Very long. Don't walk it in the middle of the day. Mornings or evenings are great to walk it, but never the middle of the day as the sun is pouring down on you trying to make you into a dried up shrimp.

Old Mazatlán Condominiums is a revitalized area that was established by Spanish conquerors in the mid-1500s. It has now become the center of Mazatlán's art scene, with elegant 19th-century buildings housing cafes, clubs, and craft galleries.
I am rarely to never inspired to write reviews of anything but we had such a lovely stay at the Old Mazatlán Inn that I feel compelled to recommend it to other travelers. Old Mazatlán Inn is located near the historic Centro of Mazatlán, it is a couple of blocks from one of the nicest beaches in the city and close to a variety of restaurants. It's nowhere near the majority of most of the hotels, meaning it's a much quieter, more genuine part of Mazatlán. The rooms are actually condos so in each unit there is everything you could possibly need - a small kitchen, a television, desk, chairs, etc. The inn is charming. A lot of attention has been paid to the decor and design of the units and the outside spaces. The terraces are one very nice feature - you can see the ocean as well as the city. As nice as all this was, the best part of our stay (and why I felt like I should write this review) is because the hosts at the Old Mazatlán Inn made us feel so comfortable and welcome. We were traveling in Mazatlán during the off season so there weren't many people staying at the Inn. I feel like it would be easy to kind of forget about us but they didn't. In fact, they went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. During our stay a tropical storm/hurricane hit Sinaloa to the north of Mazatlán so as one could imagine there was quite a bit of rain. Some of which made it's way into our room under the door (we were not surprised or upset, that's the kind of thing that happens when rain and wind are battering a condo). We were pleasantly surprised to come back from lunch and find that our room had been mopped and the water taken care of (unasked!) our hosts decided to move us into a larger unit for the issue (also, unasked). Our hosts were able to answer questions about things to do in Mazatlán and ensured that we had everything we needed during our stay. O'Neil and Jorge made our stay very pleasant and should we find ourselves in Mazatlán again, we know where we will be staying.

Plaza
Park
Plazuela Machado, situated in the lively heart of Mazatlan's historic center, is a well-known plaza with a rich cultural heritage and vibrant atmosphere. Built in 1837, it was once the central focus of Carnaval and has now been restored as a hub for local festivities. The plaza features charming colonial architecture, an iron gazebo, and the famous Angela Peralta Theater.
Came here on a week day. Their was no wait. We were told by the couple that owns the restaurant that they have music Thursday through Sunday. The food we ordered was very good. We had the ceviche, ensalada de espinacas, fetuchini Alfredo con mariscos, and ensalada Cesar. The shrimp cheviche was delicious and was shared as an appetizer for 4. The spinach salad had candied walnuts, goat cheese in a balsamic vinaigrette, and the fettuccine Alfredo was ordered with just shrimp and octopus.
Rosita M — Google review
This is a shady/treed plaza surrounded by restaurants catering to tourists (with the accompanying tourist $$). I assume the food is ok, I would recommend reading reviews of the individual restaurants as we didn’t eat here. It’s a great place to sit and people watch or plan your next move.
Christoffel D — Google review
The best time to visit is at night time when lights are turned on and streets are close so that restaurants are able to set up chairs and tables for patrons. There are a few shops to buy gifts and souvenirs. People can also enjoy live music at night.
Jezze — Google review
Beautiful area with lots to see and do day or night. Been my favorite area so far for “Dia de Los Muertos” festivities. Lots of food choices and shops to check out.
Mark L — Google review
It takes you back in time, we went during the day but at night it's absolutely beautiful. The lighting on the streets and the colonial streets. There 4 bands playing rock en Español and boy they play good. You have many choices of food, we ate in two restaurants and the food was exquisite. So much to see and it will be fun.
Roberto L — Google review
Very cute and neat place to hang out. Lots of restaurants and sculptures. The homes in the surrounding streets are cozy with many different bright colors. A bit on the older architectures, very much like European style. Pretty clean and safe. Recommend strolling around and head toward the Malecón!
Kimberly P — Google review
Amazing any time of the year. Highly recommend it.
Haleh O — Google review
Loved visiting it the day after the end of carnaval, with the big decoration still there. We went during the day, and also the evening, and the feeling was different but as enjoyable both times. Safe, clean, beautiful historic neighborhood.

Nestled in the vibrant city of Mazatlan, Mexico, Mazagua Water Park is a delightful destination for both kids and adults seeking a day filled with aquatic adventures. This expansive water park boasts an impressive array of attractions, including 14 thrilling water slides that promise to get your heart racing. Families can enjoy the gentle currents of the lazy river or take a dip in one of the 13 inviting pools scattered throughout the park.
This is a great waterpark, and our family really enjoyed ourselves. There are a lot of slides to keep the kids entertained, plus a toddler area. We visited on a Friday, and the park wasn't full. There were maybe 5 groups total, so no waiting in line to use the slides. We'll go back the next time we visit Mazatlan.

This place turned out great! I came to Mazatlán twice before and we avoided the water park bcs of the bad reviews but this time we decided to give it a try since someone mentioned they had recently done work on it. It turned out to be a great place for the kids, the little kids area is super cute and engaging for the little ones. I really liked all the treats we got at the food store and the cleaningness of all the areas in general. The gardens are also so well kept. We really liked it and will definitely come back next time we visit.

Carl D — Google review
Mazagua was a great place to spend the day with our under-10 kids. The kids had a blast. It is very easy to get to by local bus. There are many fun slides for all age levels, including the only 4-person slide I've ever seen. We didn't have to wait long for any rides and the staff were great. Agree with other reviewers that it could use a round of maintenance, but it didn't bother us. Be sure to bring your own towels as they do not offer towels for rent. You can purchase a towel for 250pesos. Overall, highly recommend.

Playa Brujas is a laid-back beach popular among surfers for its waves. It offers a relaxed atmosphere with nearby eateries and bars. Visitors can rent shade tents and lounge chairs for a fee, making it convenient to spend the day by the shore. The beach is not overly crowded, allowing for a peaceful experience. At high tides, surfers take on the waves while beachcombers explore tide pools during low tide.

I believe this particular beach is the choice for surfers in the area, but don't quote me on that. Nice view of the RIU Hotel for sure.
Jorge G — Google review
Beautiful North end of Cerritos beach. Surfers try the waves at high tides, and beach combers search for treasures in the tide pools during low tide. A beautiful place to be sure!
Suebuddha — Google review
Beautiful beach and not too crowded when we went. You can rent a shade tent for 250 pesos, that comes with regular chairs, and you can rent a lounge chair for 100 more. Not sure if we got ripped off with these prices because our faces had "tourist" written all over them or not, but whatever. Of course there are the ubiquitous beach hawkers, but they were not aggressive. There is a seafood place that serves you on the beach, but we didn't order from them. There is a restaurant just beside the beach, but we didn't go in there either. It was packed! The toilet situation is a little tricky. There is a porta potty but I didn't dare; I went into the restaurant instead. I got the impression they didn't really want people doing that, but whatever. Bring money when you go, as the lady handing out towels at the sink expects a tip and sometimes won't let you into a toilet stall if you have no money! But the beach itself was very nice and comfortable, and it was fun watching people surf -- or at least try to! Consider bringing your own food and drinks.

Nice beach with good waves and coconuts! A bit crowded the one day we went, but the surfing and boogie boarding was great!

Plaza República is a delightful oasis nestled in the vibrant heart of Mazatlán, where history and local culture beautifully intertwine. This charming square features a stunning central kiosk that serves as a hub for various cultural events, making it an ideal spot to soak up the lively atmosphere. Surrounded by iconic landmarks like the Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and the Municipal Palace, visitors can enjoy lovely views while relaxing on one of many benches scattered throughout.
It's lovely. Surprisingly serine despite all the tourist activity going on around it. Lovely lush vegetation and the infrastructure is in good shape for the most part. Plenty of benches in the square and on the perimeter of it. Nice views of the Cathedral. Plenty of vendors and restaurants around. There was a person sleeping on the platform who looked like he could be homeless, but he wasn't bothering anyone. A lot of tourists from cruise ships and whatnot but they didn't run the ambiance. A lovely stop on your day of walking around el Centro.

Very busy, central, touristy place. Plenty of services (like shoe shine), restaurants, talent shows, etc. A bit better cleaning would be a good idea.
I P — Google review
This is the Plaza across from the Basilica (and is not Machado, although some folks keep confusing the two). - Great place for a shoe shine, having an afternoon ice cream cone, watching people, or the birds. Most Sunday afternoons you can also see and hear local talent here.
Kevin J — Google review
I would not recommend visit it at night is kind of lonely buts it’s cute little plaza to visit if you come. In front of it there is the cathedral.

(Translated by Google) It's beautiful, but the constant noise of passing trucks is truly horrible; it completely steals the tranquility and essence. I propose that all Mazatlecos organize to push the park away from the passing trucks. I know it's a hassle, but working together, we can do it.
