Khai Dinh Tomb, located near Hue City on Chau Chu Mountain, was built for Emperor Khai Dinh of the Nguyen dynasty who passed away in 1925. Despite being unpopular due to his pro-French stance and language reforms, the mausoleum is a grand structure blending Eastern and Western architectural styles. It features dragon sculptures, an imperial court with statues, a lavishly furnished palace room, and a modest temple housing the emperor's grave.
This was the first of the two tombs I visited—and it makes a striking impression. The climb up a long flight of stairs is definitely a bit of a workout, but the reward at the top is worth it. The exterior looks dark and commanding, and once inside, the level of detail in the decoration is stunning. The interiors are incredibly ornate, with intricate mosaics, vibrant tiles, and elaborate dragon motifs covering nearly every surface. It’s visually overwhelming in the best way—feels more like a palace shrine than a mausoleum. The contrast between the somber exterior and colorful interior really stood out. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Huế. Tuesday 7 am–5:30 pm Wednesday. 7 am–5:30 pm Thursday 7 am–5:30 pm Friday 7 am–5:30 pm Saturday 7 am–5:30 pm Sunday 7 am–5:30 pm Monday 7 am–5:30 pm

An absolutely stunning and unique imperial tomb. The mix of Vietnamese and French architectural styles is unlike anything else in Hue, with dark stone exteriors leading to an explosion of colour inside. The interior is covered in intricate glass and porcelain mosaics, and the level of craftsmanship is incredible. The climb up the steps is worth it for the detail and atmosphere. A must-see if you’re exploring Hue’s imperial history.

This site is very impressive with detailed architecture that mixes Vietnamese and French styles. The mosaics inside are beautiful and worth seeing. However, it is quite crowded with many tourists, and the area is not very large, so the visit can feel a bit short compared to other tombs in Hue. I visited using a combo ticket that included several sites, which made it better value for money. Overall, it’s an interesting place to see, especially if you enjoy history and architecture, but don’t expect a quiet experience.

What an incredible visit to the Tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh! I traveled here with a group, and we were all truly impressed. The tomb itself is a masterpiece, blending Eastern and Western architecture in a way I've never seen before. The details are stunning—from the grand dragon staircase (as seen in our photos!) to the intricate mosaics inside. Beyond the amazing structure, the atmosphere is very special, and the views of the surrounding hills and nature are just beautiful. It was a memorable and wonderful experience for our entire group. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Vietnam!
Porntape T — Google review
Nice to walk around. Inside the building is beautiful and well worth a visit. Also a beautiful view of the mountain. Just be warned there are 127 steps to the top! The statues were also very cool to see. Easy to get a taxi there and back from the centre of town. 150k entry per adult, worth getting the combo ticket at the citadel if you are visiting multiple tombs. Very busy at 3pm!
Alex M — Google review
This extremely ornate mausoleum is a must see. It exemplifies the influence of Chinese style dynasties as the influence the French has in the style of objects preserved with former rulers. This one has a lot of stairs, so make sure to wear something comfortable and beware of the hot season.
Brandon H — Google review
Really lovely palace. There aren't many information plaques so maybe the audioguide would be better for those wanting to know the history of the place. It's not very big and will only take 30-45 minutes (without an audioguide). There isn't too much shade so make sure to bring a hat on sunny days.
Delia W — Google review
The mausoleum was pretty impressive with fantastically detailed decoration. A slightly over-long video with English subtitles gives useful background on this and other notable historic complexes in the area, so worth a watch if your eyes don't glaze over or your brain melts with the plethora of phonetically challenging characters. Seen on a very wet day.

Cultural landmark
The Hue Imperial City, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a vibrant complex within the historical citadel of Hue. Once the capital of Vietnam, it boasts over 100 remarkable architectural structures such as The Noon Gate and Thai Hoa Palace. Visitors can explore the area by bicycle or cyclo to take in its intriguing history and captivating scenery.
Certainly one should not miss a visit to this impressive and historic site when visiting Hue. That said, as with so many such important cultural assets forming the seats of government, the lavish adornments seem superfluous in many ways. I’m glad to have visited but it wasn’t my favorite place in Hue. I reserve that feeling for the quiet beauty of Tu Duc’s Mausoleum.
Reginald W — Google review
This site is very large and impressive, with beautiful gates, walls, and palaces that really give a sense of the history of the Nguyễn dynasty. Walking around feels like stepping back in time, and there is a lot to explore. Although there are many visitors, the area is so big that it never felt overcrowded. I enjoyed having the space to walk freely and take photos without too much disturbance. Overall, it was a wonderful visit – definitely one of the highlights of Hue and well worth including in a combo ticket for the historical sites.
Mr R — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A must-visit historical site in Huế! The Imperial City is grand and full of history — ancient architecture, beautiful gardens, and peaceful courtyards. You can easily spend hours exploring. Best to visit in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat. Truly impressive! 🌿🏯✨
Uyển H — Google review
What a beautiful place, full of history and nice buildings. One of them stands out on pictures. Tickets cost 200k for entrance fee. You will easily spend 2h minimum there. We decided to rent an electric bike for 90 min, so we could go around more easily without being too tired. It was worth it. I think it would have been better to go with a tour to understand the whole history and background behind the imperial city. So much to learn. Anyways, worth it!
Céline N — Google review
We visited the Hue Imperial Palace as part of a shore excursion from our cruise ship, and it ended up being one of the highlights of the day. The palace complex offers a fascinating look into Vietnam’s royal history, with impressive architecture, decorative gates, and peaceful courtyards that are great for exploring and taking photos. Many areas have been thoughtfully restored and look beautiful, giving a good sense of how grand the palace once was. Some sections, however, are still under renovation or show visible wear, which slightly affects the overall experience. More detailed signage or explanations inside certain buildings would also help visitors understand the historical context better. The grounds are quite large, so comfortable shoes and water are essential, especially on hot days. The layout is easy to navigate, and there are shaded spots to rest along the way. Overall, the Hue Imperial Palace is a meaningful and memorable place to visit, especially if you are coming from a cruise tour and have limited time. It is rich in history, visually interesting, and absolutely worth seeing. With a bit more restoration and improved informational displays, it could easily be a five-star attraction.

Wonderful place reflecting the Hue Dynasty of Kings. This was covered in our day tour of Hue city. Fascinated by the facts tour guide, Ryan of venus travels, shared with us. Portions are being rebuilt. On the way to Hue, we passed a wonderful bridge and an incense village. there is a lot of history to cover here, it was very very hot, so be prepared with sunglasses, hats, umbrellas, water..visited Hue imperial city – the palace of 13 Nguyen Kings with Ngo Mon Gate, Library, Thai Hoa Palace, Nine Dynastic Urns, etc.
Manish _ — Google review
Last visited 3 years ago and some buildings were under restoration, now able to enter and definitely worth seeing, Hue's main attraction and rightly so, recommend getting a multi site ticket for the Emperor tombs as well which can be used for 2 days
J G — Google review
It reminds me of my childhood when I first visited this place with my family. It was very peaceful and beautiful. A lot of walking which was also fun but we also rented a golf cart with someone driving us around. It’s amazing that we get to look into the past, how the royals of the Nguyen Dynasty lived.

The museum is dedicated to preserving and showcasing artifacts from the Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945), Vietnam's last feudal dynasty. It holds a collection of nearly 10,000 antiquities that offer a glimpse into the daily life, rituals, and artistic talents of the royal court.

This museum houses a fascinating collection of artifacts from the Nguyen Dynasty, including royal costumes, ceramics, and treasures. The exhibits are well presented and give insight into the grandeur of Vietnam’s royal past. I found it educational and beautiful, and I will surely recommend my friends to visit here.
Hien N — Google review
The Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities (Bảo tàng Cổ vật Cung đình) is a fascinating journey into Vietnam’s royal past. Located in Hue, the former imperial capital, this museum is housed in a traditional wooden structure, reflecting the architectural beauty of the Nguyen Dynasty. Stepping inside, you’re greeted by an impressive collection of artifacts, each offering a glimpse into the rich history and refined culture of the Vietnamese royalty. The museum’s exhibits include intricately crafted ceramics, ornate clothing, and ceremonial items used by the Nguyen emperors. One highlight is the collection of imperial seals and personal belongings, which convey the power and elegance of the imperial court. The presentation is tasteful and respectful, with detailed descriptions (in both Vietnamese and English), making it easy to appreciate the cultural significance of each item. The serene, well-maintained garden surrounding the museum adds to the experience, providing a peaceful place for reflection after the tour. The museum staff are knowledgeable and happy to answer questions, enhancing the educational experience. Overall, the Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities is a must-visit for anyone interested in Vietnamese history and heritage. This museum offers a 5/5 star experience, skillfully blending education, history, and beauty into an unforgettable visit in Hue.
Khanh N — Google review
A must-see museum, in my opinion, especially if you visit the imperial ckty because it is just next to it. It is not big, but it contains many marvelous artifacts. Ancient imperial thrones, bronze urns, delicate sophisticated decorations, and even nany old cannons in the courtyard garden. You need to take off your shoes to enter inside as this is considered like some sort of shrine. It takes a maximum of 30 minutes to see everything, and you can get here and from here with taxi/grab as it is on an accessible street.

Thuy Xuan Incense-making Village is located in Hue, the Buddhist capital of Vietnam. The village has a street dedicated to selling colorful and intricately arranged incense, making it a perfect spot for taking beautiful photos. Visitors can rent traditional Vietnamese ao dai costumes for photo opportunities and explore the local culture. Additionally, there are options to purchase incense and enjoy delicious local treats nearby.
The experience of wearing ao dai at the incense village was one of a kind. We wore the ordinary ao dai and it was still great. We got to take unli pictures around and we were happy with it. We just paid 100k for the whole rental with accessories. We also bought some incense souvenirs.
Duchess A — Google review
Very pretty place, however the lovely coloured sticks you see aren't actually the finished product, just love decorations 😀 The finished sticks are packaged to preserve the scent of the product. The process is a joy to watch, approaching the village you see the sticks being sorted prepared and drying in the open along the paths and any available space. It is a quaint place and worth a visit if of interest, I use quite a bit of incense at home so it was a joy to see. It was busy with Instagramers getting the perfect picture.
ŃȚ Ŕ — Google review
A bright and colourful stop while passing through Hue. The roadside is lined with bundles of incense sticks in vibrant pinks, yellows, and reds, making it a great spot for photos. You can watch local artisans at work and see how the incense is made, and some shops offer a chance to try rolling it yourself. It’s a quick visit but worth it if you’re nearby — a lively splash of colour and culture on the way to the tombs or pagodas.
I. M — Google review
It‘s a tourist attraction and nice for photos, but honestly every shop looks the same. They show you in 2 minutes, how they craft it and let you smell the different options. But like I said, it‘s just a stop and then you‘re ready to go away again, after 5 minutes.
Just G — Google review
Pretty cool, it’s less of a village but more of lots of small owned shops along both sides of the road. The prices vary by shop, we found it a little cheaper further down the road where they also let us try making the incense
Jesse B — Google review
Nice and colourful l, but very touristy. Worth a walk around but not too impressive.

Nestled within the Imperial Citadel, the Duyet Thi Duong Royal Theater is a historic gem that dates back to the Nguyen Dynasty. This esteemed theater is renowned for being one of Vietnam's oldest performance spaces and holds the distinction of being the first venue to showcase Royal music. Over its nearly 200-year history, it has been a stage for various art forms including opera, dance, and court music exclusively performed for the king's inner palace.
The best performance! MUST VISIT! 10am and 3pm daily Come 15 minutes earlier. 200k VND. Very professional, very beautiful. Love them so much. Around 5 distinct shows, all very enjoyable.
Yu L — Google review
Super performance, apparently they only perform when the sell 10+ tickets so we had the front desk of the citadel call and check since you have to buy tickets into there first to get into the Theater Theatre was 300k each
Jesse B — Google review
Hue is famous for its royal court music, recognized by UNESCO. The performance I attended was elegant, with traditional instruments and graceful singing. It felt like hearing history come alive. I was deeply impressed by the artistry and will surely recommend my friends to experience this cultural gem in Hue.

There's performance here 2 slots daily, morning and at 3pm. You have to buy another ticket to watch the show and they will only perform if there's more than 10 tickets sold. Performance lasts about 45mins?

Hồ Thuỷ Tiên, an abandoned water park located in Hue, Vietnam, has become a popular photography spot. The park features disused water slides and empty splash pools that are now overgrown by jungle flora. Despite being officially closed by the government, it continues to attract visitors who are eager to explore its mysterious and magical ambiance. Although guards prevent public access, adventurous travelers have found ways to enter the park and capture its haunting beauty through photography.
Pretty great place for a walk. The actual abandoned park is a fairly small area with two main attractions the dragon island and some overgrown slides and pool. You can actually take the stairs all the way to the top of the dragon which is pretty cool. The whole place feels like a maze with lots of winding stairs which is awesome. The walk around the lake was also very nice and relaxing.
Michal N — Google review
Truly stunning park. Walk around a lovely abandoned waterpark and head into the dragon head. You can enter for free but there is a guy who will explain that he helps clean the park and he asks for about 25k per person and bike as "charity" he will give you a free bottle of water. You can hire bikes from him and cycle around it. You're not allowed to drive around it. If you go off the path a bit you may discover other decrepit watersides. Its a nice place to get some good camera footage. Its well kept and beautiful and sunset.
Jimmy F — Google review
An ideal spot for walking, cycling, or enjoying a picnic. The area features a spacious grassy field shaded by cool pine trees, offering a peaceful and airy atmosphere. The newly constructed path around the lake is beautiful and easy to walk on. The best time to visit is around 4 PM when the weather is cool and perfect for a stroll. There’s a cluster of structures in the middle of the lake that hasn’t been restored yet—it has a wild, untouched charm but also gives off an unpleasant odor due to long-term neglect. Cold drinks are available at reasonable prices. Bicycles are available for rent at the gate. Entrance is completely free.
Dave H — Google review
Ho Thuy Tien is such a fascinating urban exploration park! The old buildings and overgrown areas make it really photogenic and fun to explore. Just a little tip, be careful as night falls! We got a bit lost ourselves, and let’s just say the ghosts didn’t hand us a map. Bring a flashlight and a sense of adventure, it’s totally worth it!
Mathilde B — Google review
Amazing. Went early afternoon, hardly anyone there. Dragon structure is pretty solid and very safe. Easy to take stairs to the top. Nice graffiti. Well worth the effort to get there. No hassle from any security guards.
Stuart L — Google review
Would have been a fun park to go to when it was operating and I hope it gets there again. The dragon looks impressive but smells like urine inside really. You can hire bikes and do a 2k loop around the lake which is not bad if it's not to hot. The dragon is only a short walk from the carpark so you don't need to hire them.
Paul J — Google review
Totally missable! The path around the lake is beautiful of you want to enjoy a run or a walk. I got the bike from the people at the entrance (for 50,000) as they said it was 2km and I didn't have much time. It isn't 2km, you can walk no prob, the bikes are in bad condition anyway. The statue is ok, but just an old structure, amid many amazing things in Vietnam, I would prefer to spend my time somwhere else. I only spend a night in Hue, but to me, thebonly thing worth visiting was the Imperial city.
Juliana B — Google review
Not so abandoned. Vendors at the gates. 50k for bicycle and water (full loop is about 2km)

Le Loi Park, situated along the south bank of the Perfume River and Le Loi Street, is a charming urban oasis in Vietnam. The park features various attractions such as the War Memorial honoring soldiers from France and Vietnam who perished during WWI, as well as the striking Vietnam Women's Head Statue. Visitors can also admire sculptures of cockerels and chickens, stroll by a serene pond, and take in scenic river views.
Loved it. As a visitor from Australia this was mind blowing. The fountain was very nice to watch change. Ask the lights and do many people if all agrees using the park in different ways. A lot of varied spaces Couples sitting on benches talking. Kids playing. People sitting around or walking We went in a dragon boat 200,000 Dong for two of us. That was very enjoyable as well. Loved all the lights and bridges 100% rate this place

We have travelled quite extensively around the cities of Vietnam and we would say this park is very extensive, colourful, clean and enjoyable. It have wide paved embankment walks with the Perfume river on one side (with no seeable litter pollution) and the park on the other. We came in Late February 2019 just after Tet but could see that a special effort had been made for the event. In many Vietnam cities it is alway very enjoyable to get away from the polluting traffic and enjoy a scenic park, especially this one which we would be the best yet in Vietnam. WELL DONE HUE.

Cơ Hạ Garden, located in the northeast corner of the Imperial Enclosure in Hue, Vietnam, is a serene and picturesque area worth exploring. Developed by the first four emperors of the Nguyen dynasty around 400 years ago, these gardens boast a rich history and are adorned with rare plants and trees that will captivate any horticulture enthusiast. The beauty of the garden paths and a mesmerizing lake make it an enchanting sight, especially during autumn.
Nice gardens, though a little strange due to the preponderance of potted plants. Still, a really nice place, There are pavilions, tiny bridges, shady rest stops, even a small coffee shop. A nice place to visit.

Nice garden on the edge of the citadel complex. If you are lucky enough, you will be able to see Vietcong soldiers hiding in the surrounding buildings to this day (see the photos).

A quiet spot with less tourists, especially in such a scorching weather, to appreciate and enjoy the precious tranquility

Very nice garden with the bonsai trees being taken care of. It is away from the groups of tourists inside the citadel and very impressive to see from the small hill in the middle of the park.

Situated along the Perfume River, it offers a tranquil escape with lush green spaces and shady trees. The park provides various seating areas for visitors to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings. In the evening, it becomes an ideal location to admire the cityscape of Hue, particularly the stunning view of Truong Tien bridge.
The atmosphere here is refreshingly serene, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and various outdoor activities such as walking and sightseeing. Don’t miss the opportunity to capture the beauty of this place; make sure to take plenty of pictures! (Sunday 2024 Jan 21)

Green space beside the river good for cycling or taking a short stroll. You can get to the thien mu pagoda from here but currently one portion of the park is blocked off for construction (and you have to cycle on the main road with the traffic)
Shi N — Google review
Thương Bạc Park Originally, in 1875 under the reign of King Tu Duc, a building called Thuong Bac Institute (Tòa Thương Bạc) was constructed near the current park's location to welcome imperial envoys. In front of it, a pavilion near the riverbank was built to receive merchants; this was the Thuong Bac Pavilion (Đình Thương Bạc).
Nguyen L — Google review
The park is the best place to view Hue at night and especially Truong Tien bridge. The air is fresh and the temperature is lower than the other places in the city. If you come there in the afternoon, you’ll see locals doing all kinds of stuff like exercise, swimming, and fishing
Khanh T — Google review
Fantastic park situated along the Perfume River, we came here just before sunset after a day of hiding indoors away from the heat. Fantastic atmosphere with the noise and flashing lights, you can buy drinks and snacks from a few sellers near where the motorbikes are parked to enjoy a sit down. Heaps of families around, lots of young children having fun on the electric crazy carts,These rides are for hire and we paid 50k$ for half an hour, which was heaps of fun. These things go fast and just like the local motorbike traffic, it looks hectic when youre zooming around but we didn't experienced or witness any accidents. Do watch out when using the pathways around the park because you do still get the stray motor bike going past your unexpectedly.
Wayne L — Google review
Visited this park several times during the Vietnamese Reunification Holidays, as there was a culinary festival going on. Several food stands had been setup alongside a stage and every evening during this time there was a ton of local food to try and a few fun performances to watch! Otherwise, the park is a nice area to walk around and have a picnic in as there are a lot of trees, greenspace, and wonderful views of the river. Additionally, the area was pretty clean and it was nice to see people using the nearby fitness equipment!

The park features lush green spaces, serene water ponds, and ample seating areas for visitors to relax and unwind. It holds historical significance as an LZ used by American forces during the Vietnam War. Visitors can also enjoy boat rides along the river and witness local Vietnamese lifestyle.
Scenic park with lots of vendors wanting to take you on boat rides. Great place to relax after a long walk in Hue and take in the peaceful scenes on the Perfume River. It is also the historic site of an LZ used by American forces during the Vietnam War to evacuate their wounded during the Battle of Hue City.

While taking a boat trip, guests can take in the beautiful scenery and traditional music shows that add to the charm of the experience. Additionally, indulging in an imperial dinner on one of these boats comes highly recommended. Whether opting for a group tour or private rental, Boat Dock provides an excellent opportunity to explore the river and its surroundings while creating lasting memories.
Most of the boats here are tourists boats. Cheaper if in group, expensive if you rent it privately

Scam. We payed 700.000 Dong for 2way trip for 2 people but got moved to another boat on the way back for some reason. Got told we could stay 1hr at the pagoda but they said 30minutes when we arrived. Better get a bike to the pagoda which was quite a nice trip, or maybe go one way by boat and one way by grab.
Viola H — Google review
Horrible, these boats take you to places and claim they have buffet lunch. All the destinations they bring you to you have to pay extra to get into if you go everywhere and buy their lunch you are out around 800k per person . Also the boat driver kept throwing garbage off the side of the boat! Not cool!

Many dragon boads here. You can get a good price if you are good to bagen. Thw boad starts and ends here, but you can plan the tur you like Fx. to the padoga or a longer tur to the toms. The boad is not as fast as land transportation. But the area is nice in the evnings.

With negotiated prices and quality service, their travel experts provide all necessary information before your departure. Customers have praised the excellent attention and English explanations provided by drivers like Minh and Toan, who took them to various tourist spots along the way.
Quang is the best driver we have ever met in Vietnam. We hired a car to visit the 3 Royal tombs and the Citadel in Hue, and we really enjoyed our trip thanks to Quang. He was kind, super punctual and very professional. He also introduced us a wonderful restaurant and a cafe that only locals would know. Strongly recommended!

Great experience with the Hue Friendly Cars. Our driver was Tim for two days and was a wealth of knowledge for history and local recommendations. Great communication and friendly service. Highly recommend both the Hue city tour as well as transfer to Hoi An with stops along the way!

Our driver Vinh who took us from Hue to Hoi An was excellent. He was super friendly and polite which made the day enjoyable for all of us. Good company! The excursion through Hue was fantastic. We couldn't complete the excursion to Da Nang because of the weather, but they refunded us part of the money and managed it very well. Especially happy with our driver Hai, very attentive and friendly. We will recommend it for sure!

Hue Friendly Cars Found the company online whilst researching the best way to get around Hue to see the sights. We were limited to a day in Hue which meant we needed a quick & reliable way to get around the city. We contacted the company via WhatsApp and they were fast and efficient in responding and spoke good English. The responses were detailed and explained everything we needed to know. We paid 805,000VND(£26) for the day tour. The driver picked us up from the train station after our overnight train and took us to two of main tombs, the pagoda and citadel. In between the driver was very informative and helpful and took us to a lovely local restaurant for lunch. He helped us get our tickets to the attractions and saved us money directing us to a combo ticket that we were unaware about. There was no pressure at any of the sites over times and we felt we could really enjoy each one. At the end of the day he took us to our hotel in Hue. Great service and well recommended if your short on time.

Outdoor Activities
Thuận An Beach, situated in Thuan An Town, Phu Vang District, about 13km east of Hue city, offers a serene retreat for relaxation and picturesque sunset views. With a 12km coastline comprising three distinct beaches, it boasts a unique blend of the gentle river merging with the vast sea. The area is known for its lively atmosphere and is popular among locals for swimming and evening strolls along the shore.
Thuận An Beach, located just a short drive from the historic city of Huế, is a hidden gem along Vietnam’s central coast. Unlike the busier beaches further south, it offers a tranquil escape with soft golden sands stretching along the shoreline and gentle waves lapping at the shore. The beach is ideal for early morning strolls, sunrise photography, or simply soaking in the peaceful coastal atmosphere. The surrounding area features local fishing villages, giving visitors a glimpse into the authentic daily life of Vietnamese coastal communities. Seafood here is fresh and plentiful, with small beachside eateries serving simple yet delicious dishes. The atmosphere remains relaxed even during weekends, making it a great spot for photographers seeking natural light, reflections in the water, and unobstructed horizon shots. For travelers, Thuận An Beach is easily accessible by motorbike, taxi, or private car from Huế city center, and parking is straightforward. Facilities are modest but sufficient, including local stalls for refreshments and shaded areas to rest. The beach is also safe for swimming, with lifeguards present in certain sections during peak season. Photographers will appreciate the wide-open spaces, scenic dunes, and occasional fishing boats that create compelling foregrounds. Sunrise and sunset provide excellent lighting conditions for capturing the serene beauty of the area, while the nearby lagoon adds variety to landscape compositions. Overall, Thuận An Beach is a peaceful and photogenic coastal retreat that offers both natural beauty and cultural authenticity. It’s perfect for those looking to escape the crowds and enjoy a calm, scenic Vietnamese beach experience.

I’m not sure when this beach was nice, but currently it is the saddest, dirtiest beach I have ever seen (having been in many developing places). Trash of every kind all along the beach in piles. Another huge (seemingly unnecessary) bridge being built from the end of the strait, so there is construction all through the little town leading to the beach and the road is blocked in places. It would make a huge difference to at least have some of the heavy machinery (which is clearly getting sand from the beach for construction) push the trash into piles and collect it since the amount of old glass and styrofoam requires the entire top layer of sand to be removed. Sad for the exploitation of communities adjacent to the beach. Also there even seems to be some surfing to be had which could bring revenue, but not until people aren’t afraid to walk barefoot on the beach itself.

Hue's city beach is long and golden and wild. With the wooden fishing boats and seafood shacks it is incredibly photogenic, but there's not much privacy for relaxed swimming or sunbathing and the water is rarely crystal clear. It's a great place for seafood lunch and a few cold Hudas though
André M — Google review
Nice beach, not too far from Hue centre. Fairly clean and lots of small crabs running along the beach, we did see a huge jellyfish stuck on the sand so maybe be aware they could also be in the water.

Right behind the parking lot, there are a couple of restaurants selling fresh sea food. The beach was quite dirty and packed with locals, but if you continue your way to the left, there's noone but a few fishermen.

Lang Co Beach is a popular tourist destination located in a fishing village. It offers beautiful sandy shores and clean waters, making it an ideal spot for a refreshing getaway. While the beach lacks some facilities and activities, there are excellent restaurants nearby offering fresh seafood. The surrounding tropical scenery and translucent sea create a dream-like atmosphere, perfect for relaxation. Access to the beach is through the road of a resort, but the journey itself is scenic and worth experiencing.
If you love tourist traps this ins't the place for you, this is an authentic Vietnamese beach/fishing village. The south side of the beach was clean, quiet and tranquil. There are touristy food and drink options to the north although there are plenty of local options in the village. Bring a blanket and buy your drinks in one of the local shops in the village.
Christopher Q — Google review

This is fairly quiet beach when we visited today at 11am. Barely six people were swimming here despite a massive beach. Lots of fresh seafood restaurants line the beach. Unfortunately there are some uncared for trash that line the beach but if you ignore that, the water is very pleasant to swim in.
David E — Google review

Lăng Cô Bay, situated between Da Nang and Huế, is one of Vietnam’s most scenic coastal treasures. With its sweeping crescent of white sand, calm turquoise waters, and lush mountains rising in the background, the bay offers a landscape of remarkable harmony and serenity. Its unspoiled charm and peaceful atmosphere make it an ideal retreat for travelers looking to slow down and connect with nature. For photographers, Lăng Cô Bay provides endless inspiration. From the Hải Vân Pass, the bay unfolds in stunning panoramic views that capture the meeting point of sea, sky, and mountains. On the shoreline, traditional fishing boats, stilt houses, and local life add cultural depth to wide-angle landscapes and storytelling shots. Early mornings and late afternoons offer the most atmospheric light, perfect for capturing the bay in soft golden tones. Beyond its beauty, Lăng Cô is also famous for its fresh seafood, served in local restaurants that overlook the water. This adds a culinary dimension to the experience and creates additional opportunities for cultural photography. Calm, authentic, and photogenic, Lăng Cô Bay is more than just a stop between two cities—it is a destination in its own right, where Vietnam’s central coast reveals its most tranquil side.
