An Bang Beach, located just 3 kilometers east of Hoi An, is a serene escape that beautifully combines natural beauty with local charm. This picturesque beach features soft white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters, making it an ideal spot for sunbathing or enjoying the gentle waves. The area is lined with charming beach huts and offers a variety of eateries where you can savor fresh seafood and refreshing cocktails while soaking in stunning views of Da Nang Bay and the Marble Mountains.
It's a nice beach with fine sand. I went there during week days so it wasn't busy. The beach is clean and water temperature is perfect to cool down. There are a few vendors trying to sell you stuff but they are very polite and might have a quick chat with you.
Dimitri S — Google review
A great spot to unwind, An Bang Beach offers a clean stretch of sand, plenty of shade under beach huts, and rows of loungers perfect for relaxing. The beachfront is lined with a mix of thatched umbrellas and green canvas canopies, giving it a tropical feel. There’s a safety net installed along the swimming area which is a thoughtful touch, especially on busier days. The beach was clean and pleasant to walk along barefoot. At the top of the beach, you’ll find a long line of restaurants and bars. Most of the better spots (and better prices) are on the right-hand side if you’re facing the ocean – definitely worth walking all the way down to compare. It can get quite crowded during the hotter afternoons, but that only adds to the lively vibe. Whether you’re in the mood for a swim, a sunbathe, or a chilled coconut under a hut, this beach delivers a great afternoon escape.
John W — Google review
Very nice and cleaner than I thought from reading reviews. Very very long walkable beach with sand. Sand can get very hot so make sure to bring footwear. Otherwise the water is nice and clear and you do not need water shoes. Not much to snorkel here but if you have goggles there are some different fish to see as well as occasional jellyfish… The beach chairs and umbrellas are free if you order food and drinks from the restaurants which own those chairs…
David E — Google review
Clean, beautiful stretch of beach. Warm water, soft sand, and calm waves perfect for the whole family. Plenty of good restaurants lined along the beach, if you order food from them then you dont have to pay the lounger and umbrella. We are lucky that we are staying just a good 5 minutes walk away from the beach. During our stay, we get to do our early morning walk and swim in the morning.

An Bang Beach in Hoi An is a beautiful and relaxing spot with soft sand and clear water. It’s a great place to swim, walk, or just unwind by the sea. There are plenty of beachside cafes and restaurants where you can grab a drink or meal while enjoying the view. It can get a bit crowded later in the day, but the atmosphere is laid-back and friendly. A perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon in Hoi An.
Lydia C — Google review
Wide, expansive golden sands meet calm waters (not the clearest, but overall fine)—perfect for relaxing strolls. Super pleasant vibe with tons of beachfront restaurants offering fresh eats right on the sand. Rented a surfboard easily and had a blast catching waves. Highly recommend!
Tzvi A — Google review
Some places are extremely crowded, while others are quite quiet. There are various water and beach activities that can be freely enjoyed. The sand is also clean and allows to walk barefoot. However, in some areas near abandoned places, there is low maintenance, resulting in trash, broken glass, and trees.
Kyaw M — Google review
perfect spot for both local and foreign tourists. The water is purely blue and the vibe is feasty on the beach. There are many food options with reasonable price. Totally safe and worth the money

Historic Sites
Thanh Ha Pottery Village in Hoi An is a historic craft village that has been around for over 400 years. The village features traditional pottery workshops and is known for its signature noodle dish. Visitors can explore the red-roof communal houses, yellow brick walls, dock, and banyan tree that represent a real Vietnamese traditional village.
It was an interesting encounter. You need to pay a small fee to "enter" the village and roam around. Despite not attending any workshop, there are lots of works that are worth looking into, and I recommend it for its price.
Fabrizio P — Google review
This is such a cool cultural site to see. I took a pottery class for only a few USD (and now have a handmade souvenir to take home with me) and walked around and saw some really beautiful art. The terracotta pieces around the village and within the museum are huge but filled with intricate details that tell different stories about Vietnam. You pay a small fee to enter the village that helps support its residents and their work, and it also covers a small clay souvenir of your choice. Just a really neat place overall.
Maddie L — Google review
Super nice activity for kids and family, pick a little shop and make your own! Biking distance from Hoi An old quarter. Entrance fee 35k and remember to pick up your little gift with your ticket code bar at the designated gift shop on ticket. 50 to 100k per person to make yr own and have fun!
Peggy R — Google review
Visit only if you have plenty of time in hoi an. This place is far from main town area. Tickets cost 35k vnd pp where you can choose a souvenir pp from any of the 3 shops they mention. Ticket wasn’t actually necessary as you walk through the lanes and many local shops have same pottery classes and stuffs to sell. Pottery making experience is free with the ticket , but they insist you very much on buying and some places even charge you extra 50k for the pottery making experience. So ask before you start. At one place they said the experience is free and I tried my hands. But they helped me a lot to make the product look good so that I end up buying it. We couldn’t take it with us as we didn’t have space in luggage and it is delicate and have to wait until it dries up. So we had some drinks at the same place which was reasonably priced and very delicious. The place name is cafe GOM. Souvenir- its a cute animal where you can blow whistle! There is also a pottery museum and the tickets cost extra. We did not go here.

Thanh Ha Pottery Village is a hidden gem just a short ride from Hoi An. The area is quiet, lush with trees and flowers, and full of charming pottery displays. You can see traditional techniques, browse handmade crafts, and even try making your own pottery. The local artisans are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. Great place to buy unique souvenirs and enjoy a calm cultural experience!

Thanh Ha Pottery Village is more than just a tourist stop—it’s a soulful, hands-on journey into Vietnam’s enduring craft heritage. Whether you’re molding clay, browsing handmade pottery, or exploring imaginative clay miniatures, the village offers a unique blend of culture, creativity, and calm. Perfect for families, artists, and curious travelers alike.
Siddhi G — Google review
pleasantly surprised as I had never visited a pottery museum before. Entrance fee VND50k. Learned quite a bit about the tradition & history of pottery making in Vietnam..Should visit if you are interested in anything made of clay .Need to be careful when viewing the sculptures and pottery and would advise against bringing young children..they have a small workshop behind for those interested and small cafe.

Dingo Deli is a popular spot in Hoi An, especially among expats. It's not just a cafe but also a bakery, restaurant, and delicatessen that offers Lavazza Italian coffee and an array of caffeinated beverages. Run by a friendly Australian couple, this establishment caters to those looking for familiar tastes from home with its generous portions and diverse menu including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. The place offers fast Wi-Fi and comfortable seating both indoors and outdoors.
Tried gluten free bread with butter chicken, then next day Thái green curry. Both dishes had enough chicken meat. Both had actual flavours. The gluten free bread was that, heftier than regular bread. Can use Wise Prepaid Debit Card for payment, no extra hidden charges. A big plus.

Decent food, first time we went the chips were amazing. Second time we went the chips were still a bit raw. Maybe we just got unlucky. Cool interior with a selection of free sauces and wide selection of drinks.
Kilian C — Google review
Must stop over for your western cravings. Highest quality & service. Gordon, the owner is awesome. They also have a little store filled with hard to find imported products. Do not miss this gem...
Ted L — Google review
We came to Dingo Deli after craving gluten free pizza over the last few months travelling, and it more than cured that!! The pizza was so so yummy, and my boyfriend (who isn’t gluten free and had a regular base) said it was also his best pizza so far! I also got a gluten free carrot cake to go, which was lush!
Lillibelle S — Google review
I'm staying in Da Nang, however when I saw the menu and the pics, I had to come. I needed some western breakfast and they met all my expectations. The service, food, atmosphere, everything was great. I can't wait to come back.
Deleno J — Google review
Only ate half, and they gave me a little fruit salad to apologize for the over cooked eggs & you can see quite clearly these eggs were not poached but cooked in a cup or microwave.. top dollar low quality unfortunately. Refund would have been more appropriate. I don't travel to whinge or create stress.. but I won't return to places that don't live up to the hype.
Brad W — Google review
You must visit dingo deli for the fabulous gluten free food. They have a separate menu with plenty of choice. They can also bake gluten free bread within a few hours of ordering. Excellent staff and service
Nicola R — Google review
We came here from a recommendation to get the chicken Caesar wrap. When we got here we couldn’t help ourself but order the pastrami sandwich also and go half and half. We didn’t think much of the wrap but the pastrami sandwich however.. amazing. We came back a second day just for it. At 159K you can’t go wrong with the size of this thing, it’s massive! And super tasty. Over all the restaurant is clean and staff are friendly and give great service. Since here is a lot of westernised food it is a bit pricier however, still affordable. Would recommend if you’re missing home comforts such as bangers and mash or a chilli con carne. I even managed to find a Dr Pepper which was a blessing after travelling around Asia for a few months. They offer a wide range of gluten free options even desserts.

Immerse yourself in the art of lantern making with a class that offers an authentic experience led by a friendly local instructor. Spend an hour crafting your own unique lantern while sipping on iced Vietnamese coffee and chatting with the patient and kind teacher. The class is suitable for both adults and kids, providing an enjoyable activity for all. Take home a beautifully crafted lantern that can be folded up as a souvenir from your travels. Highly recommended for those seeking a hands-on cultural experience during their trip.
Great experience! We made lanterns with Phi, who was super friendly and helpful and guides you through the process. We didn’t need an appointment, just walked right in. You are able to choose the size, shape, fabric and tassel colour of your lantern. We were in there for about an hour. The price is very reasonable, and she even gave us a little one to also take home with us. If you’re looking for something to do in Hoi An, definitely give this lantern making class a visit!
Katy O — Google review
Had a wonderful hour experience with Mi (Niece) and Phi (Owner) they were both very warm and welcoming! Mi was wonderful and very helpful getting us started on our lanterns, she was patient and showed me and my wife what to do at each stage. Phi arrived shortly after we begun and supported us also, she spoke great English and was warm and welcoming and very helpful. We had a wonderful experience and the lanterns make for a beautiful personalised souvenir to take home. Thank you both so much! Love Reece and Kayliegh ❤️
Reece J — Google review
We enjoyed a latern making class with Phi on our visit to Hoi An. We dropped in without a booking in the middle of the day and had our own private class. Phi and her cousin were very friendly and patient with us and helped us make 2 beautiful lanterns and we received 2 baby laterns for free! Highly recommend this class for a lovely, wholesome activity while in Hoi An!
Abby M — Google review
We did drop and they luckily had room for the three of us. Everyone working was super helpful, and you can order drinks while you work as well. The lantern making process was super cool to learn and Phi was really helpful trying to make it a smooth process and helping during any mistakes we made. Price is quite good for getting to learn to make the lanterns, the final product and the smaller bonus lanterns you can go home with. And if you don’t have time to make a lantern, you can even just buy a premade one at the shop as well. Such a lovely space and definitely a highlight of the trip. The lanterns also collapse so you can easily pack them into ur bag!
Ray — Google review
It was a really nice experience. We just went in and Phi immediately took care of us. She has really good english. Me and my girlfriend had a really great time making a lantern, and although I wasn't really good in it, Phi helped me to make it perfect!
Adam F — Google review
Had a wonderful lantern making activity with Phi! We were looking for an activity to do in Hoi An especially on our nth time in the old town and my husband found Phi here on google maps! He called her and we were booked for a lantern making session. It was just the two of us and we were so thrilled to be able to make the lanterns that we wanted to take back to Saigon with us. Phi is sweet, chatty and helpful. She encouraged us even though we were making errors and helped us make our lanterns pretty! What a beautiful way to spend afternoon! And thank you Phi for the amazing class! 😍
Shyn E — Google review
Such a lovely experience. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We had a great time making lanterns and received 2 free small lanterns! Lovely choice of fabric with 3 size options and 2 different shapes. The lanterns fold down so will easily fit into a suitcase cases.

Vinh Vo Cooking Class is a popular Vietnamese cooking experience that offers a variety of activities. Participants can enjoy crab catching on the river and explore local markets to learn about regional products. The class takes place in a beautiful location and provides high-quality ingredients for making delicious food. The instructors are dedicated, fun, and speak good English, ensuring an enjoyable and personalized experience for everyone. Chef Vinh is highly attentive, funny, and kind, providing a memorable experience from start to finish.
I had the best time at this cookery class and can’t recommend it enough! Everything was well organised and the instructions were clear. They were very understanding of my dietary preferences and were happy to amend the recipe to accommodate this. It was a great range of dishes and so much delicious food to enjoy at the end of the class. Would definitely sign up again if I’m back in Hoi An. A special thank you to Lyly for making the class so much fun!

Fantastic cooking class for the whole family. We loved it - even our 11 year old had fun following along the instructions. The end result was so impressive, and most importantly, delicious! Canh was wonderful and entertaining, can’t recommend this class enough.

So kind and funny lady that helped us cook amazing food. It was placed in a so nice spot in the jungle and we had rain falling on the roof when we were there which made it even cozier. I was very full and satisfied after this experience. 10/10 recommend 👍🏻 Ps: They did fix very easy for the vegen and vegetarian in my group 👍🏻👍🏻

I had a fantastic time in the cooking class! The instructor was clear and friendly, making the recipes easy to follow. The hands-on experience helped me learn new techniques, and the dishes we made were delicious. It was a fun and rewarding way to improve my cooking skills—I’d definitely recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about food.
Ciaran G — Google review
We loved this cooking class! We started out going to the markets, and we learned about heaps of different things even as experienced cooks. We even got to sample specific requests including my favourite quả cóc! The basket boat tour was super fun, we were very thankful for the provided hats! We loved the crazy ride for only $100k for too people, and the woman driving our boat was very nice and funny. Because we did the morning tour, we were the only two people on the whole tour which was so nice. They say the afternoon one is much busier. They even accomodate a last minute schedule change til the next day due to a dental emergency. The cooking class itself was fun, very delicious and overall more food than we could eat! The recipes were provided so we could just relax and enjoy the experience. Highly recommend!
Tayler W — Google review
We had a great time at this cooking class! The pickup was punctual and in a comfortable vehicle. We started with a market tour where we learned about common ingredients in Vietnamese cuisine, followed by a coconut boat ride which was a fun experience, though the sun was quite strong. The cooking class was well-organized, with clear demonstrations and lots of hands-on fun. The staff easily adjusted the meals to fit our food allergies and preferences, and we never felt like we were missing out on anything. Everything we made was absolutely delicious! The guide and staff were all kind, respectful, and welcoming, which really added to the experience. I highly recommend this for anyone looking to enjoy Vietnamese food class.

We had such a great time on this cooking class. The tour included an hour on the river in coconut boats then onwards to the village kitchen where we were taught how to make 3 easy and beautiful dishes by our lovely guide who was so much fun and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour. Nathan - Australia

Lyly did a great job showing us some some classical vietnamese dishes. Just make sure you bring lots of hunger because there will be LOTS of food. Don’t worry your class will be cancelled if there are too little people signing up - we were just two people, it was great!

Beach
Cua Dai Beach, located just 4 kilometers east of Hoi An Ancient Town, is a picturesque destination known for its long stretch of fine white sand and clear waters. This beach has been recognized as one of the most beautiful in Asia by TripAdvisor. Visitors can enjoy sunbathing, swimming, or taking a leisurely bike ride along the romantic coastline. With rows of palm trees and thatched umbrellas providing shade, it's an ideal spot for relaxation.
Really peaceful, and quiet beach. There are few people and the beach is beautiful.. white sandy beaches much better than those at A Bang Beach. Lounges and umbrellas are available along the beaches at a fee. I paid about VND 50k to use a lounger which is highly recommended if you do not want to be roasted by the scorching sun. Toilets are available for shower. In my opinion, can just skip An Bang beach and come here instead if you want to avoid the crowds.
Keith S — Google review
Ride out past paddy fields and to the beach. Soak in the waves and relax and go get a coffee and some food. Nice way to spend a Sunday. Sad to see the flood barriers which can change the look of photos but obviously necessary after recent history.
Andrew D — Google review
Cua Dai Beach has the foundations of a tropical paradise—with soft sand, tall palm trees, and long stretches of thatched umbrellas offering shade and a peaceful ocean view. From a distance, it definitely has that classic postcard look and a relaxing vibe, especially if you’re just looking to lie on a sunbed and enjoy the breeze. However, a closer look reveals that the area has seen better days. Many of the beachfront restaurants and buildings seem quite tired and in need of maintenance, and the surrounding grounds—especially the patches of overgrown weeds and grass—reflect years of neglect, likely since the pandemic. It’s a shame, because the location has a lot of potential to be a premier coastal destination. Still worth a visit if you’re nearby and looking for some quiet beach time, but it feels like a place that’s been somewhat forgotten and is waiting for a proper revival.
John W — Google review
Fine beach but as everything a bit dirty and unnecessary ugly constructions (pipe) across the beach. Don’t pay for parking, it’s a scam. We just parked our bike and refused to pay as it’s not official at all.
Jeroen K — Google review
Getting better and better every year — the beach is quiet, peaceful and relaxed. It is mostly local restaurants — and pretty much all seafood. They have put some new signs and displays up to make the beach look more beautiful. 🤩 Great work!

Peaceful and secluded beach, very much preferable to An Bang beach. There are no shacks there but a few shops that sell coconut water etc. Parking was 10000 vnd. If you want to have a quiet time by yourself this is the place to be. There’s no one to bother or disturb you and the water is crystal clear, the beach is clean too.
Sud K — Google review
We took a Grab Taxi from An Bang Beach, where we spent 4 hours. This beach was much less crowded on 10th Nov '24, with only a couple of tourists. The sea water appeared cleaner and greener here, but food options were limited. For those seeking a private experience, this is an excellent beach. However, if you prefer a crowd during the off-season, An Bang Beach is ideal. Remember to carry your own drinking water.

Archipelago
Cham Islands, also known as Cu Lao Cham or Chiem Bat Lao, is a cluster of islands consisting of one main island and eight smaller islets. Located within Hoi An City, Quang Nam province, this archipelago spans about 15 square kilometers. It offers diverse activities such as scuba diving to encounter rare marine creatures like ghost pipe fish and jellyfish amidst varied vegetation and coral.
We went on a tour with a speed boat and a small group of around 20 people. We did some sightseeing, then we went snorkelling, and stayed an hour at this beach, where the monkeys joined our lunch. We had lots of fun!
Marc T — Google review
A place with little civilization. Very quiet and peaceful. You feel far away from the rest of the world. Perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city. Delicious seafood. Great snorkeling. Not recommended for traveling with children (no services for kids).
Aliaksandr D — Google review
Nice island… the water is crystal clear .. but you have to be very careful with your belongings as there are lots of monkeys on this island. Other than that, it is probably the most beautiful islands in Vietnam.
Chan — Google review
We took the tour via Klook. It was well worth the money! Water was very clean at the island, but not the snorkeling spot. Very murky and salty water. I just swam and floated around. Saw some corals and fish. Nothing too exciting. A little scary to get on and off the boat, so wear a good pair of water shoes or sandals with straps. Lunch was very good. I’d take my own snorkeling set or just a goggles. You can’t sit on the chairs closer to the water, unless you order a drink, but the restaurant owner will let you sit right outside the restaurant for free. Cold water shower available, which was very convenient. Most people went back on the shuttle bus back to their hotel in their wet swimsuit! I’d go again! You do not need to join the tour of the island! We sad down and had a drink for 30-45 mins while the rest of the group left to walk around the island with the guide
Norin K — Google review
Went to this island by booking klook app, didnt believed the bad review in the app, turned out the trip is really bad, just as described by klook reviewer🤣 regreted our choice,my friend and i had horrible experience during the trip: 1. The clarity underwater at the snorkeling spot is horrible, max 30% visibility. Couldnt really see the coral reefs and fishes 2. The agency of trip has terrible safety measure, not compulsory to wear safety jacket, and the jacket got no crotch strap 3. Anyhow the island is acceptable to chill, u can walk around to have a look at the mountain and temple, and have some seafood meal there. 4. Snorkeling definitely is a bad bad choice, and the showering place is not sheltered. No privacy at all, the male changing room entrance is directly infront of restaurant!

Nice island! Good for day trip and snorkeling

A lovely island. Don't do the day trip from Hoi An, take the ferry and stay 2 or 3 nights.

Cù Lao Chàm is a tropical gem—pristine beaches and coral reefs that scream island paradise! Snorkeling in the turquoise waters was pure bliss. I used the Joytime app to book a boat tour—hassle-free, with a guide who knew every hidden cove. Lucky me for the sunny vibes! Dive in for an unforgettable escape.

Vietnamese restaurant
MANGO MANGO is a popular river-side restaurant located in a bustling shopping district, offering a modern twist on traditional Vietnamese flavors. The restaurant is known for its highly recommended duck breast and papaya salad, as well as its spicy and fruity tiger prawns. Situated across the riverbank from the Japanese Bridge, it provides a stunning view of the Thu Bon River and the bustling night market.
Excellent restaurant in the heart of old town Hoi An. Cocktails are excellent and great value during happy hour. Food is Asian fusion and very tasty. Service can be a little hit and miss but I’ll definitely be back. Location is exceptional for views of the river and people watching.

Fantastic! Elevated cuisine lovingly prepared and served by the kitchen and staff who all clearly enjoy working there. Yes, it’s a bit pricier than your average, but well worth the trip and an absolute must-visit for any foodie or traveler. With views to both the night market, lantern displays, as well as the river and walking street—Mango Mango showcases Hoi An’s rich food culture with a touch of worldly elegance and a taste of luxury. “I Love Seafood” dish was a highlight!

Had dinner here last night, and it was all delicious! We shared starters and mains all were great! Slightly more expensive than other places in Hoi An, but very good quality, and great service! You can also sit outside with a view of the lantern boats which is stunning!

Mango Mango is a great spot right in the heart of Hoi An Old Town, and it ticks all the right boxes. Best spot would be the balcony or upstairs which offers great view overseeing the sunset in the old town. The food was excellent – the pork chop was particularly memorable, thick yet incredibly juicy. They also offer a wide variety of cocktails, including some unique Mango Mango house specials, which are definitely worth trying. One of the best parts is the overall vibe – you get to enjoy good food and drinks, take in the view, and even listen to live music from the venue next door. The staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall great experience. Yes, prices are slightly on the higher side, but for the quality, service, and atmosphere, it’s well worth it.

🍹 Mango Mango – Great vibes by the river This was my first dinner in Hoi An after arriving — Mango Mango is right by the night market, full of energy and people enjoying their evening. The view is lively, with lantern boats on the river and lots of families walking by. I had a cocktail and dinner here — both were really good. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was perfect for a first night in town. Highly recommended!

Mango Mango exceeded expectations in terms of service, elevated Vietnamese cuisine, ambience and location. We enjoyed the duck tortilla appetizer and the red snapper with micro greens and rice. Don’t forget to add the squeeze of lime provided onto your snapper! We were served fresh chilli because I love my food spicy. Overall an excellent experience!

I came here on a friend's recommendation. located just in front of the river. We arrived in the late afternoon. The eatery appears to be closed from the outside. In any case, the prawn and vegetable in my salad tasted fantastic. When visiting Hoi An, this could be one of your dining options.

Well decored but lack of sufficient lighting to have nice photos. Menu in English 100% & no Vietnamese. Waitress also confirm restaurant is designed for foreigners. Food is acceptable but too expensive comparing vs other local food shops. The staff attitude are definitely under expectation & not welcome local people. To summarize: not recommend.

Hoi An Roastery Espresso & Coffee House has quickly become a local favorite, with seven branches spread across the town. The cafes are housed in traditional historic buildings and feature a cozy interior with rustic furniture. They offer a variety of coffee brewing methods, including pour-over and French press, using high-grade Arabica beans sourced from Dalat. Visitors can enjoy strong and aromatic coffee in lovely courtyards with comfortable seating.
Very nice cafe to come and cool down it is aur conditioned in the second floor. Coffee is delicious and they have some some loval food as well also a store where they sell coffee and tea and honey and chocolate. I recommend also for the atmosphere

This place offers the worst coffee that I’ve tasted in Vietnam (I live here for 4 month and drink coffee daily) I couldn’t even comprehend why coffee was so bad. We ordered 3 different types of coffee and couldn’t finish any. This place is not representative of real Vietnamese coffee. Pastry was good though. Staff were extremely nice and friendly.
Vlada M — Google review
I recently tried coconut coffee, and it turned out to be one of the most unique and refreshing coffee experiences I’ve had. The first sip instantly stood out – the rich, bold aroma of freshly brewed coffee beautifully blended with the light, natural sweetness of coconut. Unlike regular flavored coffees that often taste artificial, this one felt smooth and authentic. The coconut added a creamy texture without being heavy, making the drink both comforting and energizing. There’s a subtle nuttiness in the aftertaste that lingers pleasantly, leaving you wanting another sip. What I loved most is how it balances flavors – the coffee isn’t overpowered, and the coconut doesn’t feel too sweet. It’s the perfect drink for someone who enjoys experimenting beyond traditional lattes and cappuccinos. To me, it’s like a tropical twist in a cup – uplifting, indulgent, and memorable. If you’re a coffee lover looking for something refreshing yet different, coconut coffee is absolutely worth trying. 🌴✨

Coffee at Hội An Roastery was just okay for me. The food wasn’t great… my bread was a bit tough, almost like it was from the day before. What I did enjoy though was the overall vibe of the café, and I appreciate that they also sell their own coffee grounds, which is a nice touch for coffee lovers.

Theme park
Water & Amusement Parks
Nestled in the enchanting city of Hoi An, Vietnam, Hoi An Memories Land is a captivating amusement park that opened its doors in 2018. This ancient-style park is renowned for its stunning Golden Bridge, supported by giant hands—an ideal spot to soak in breathtaking sunset views. As night falls, visitors can immerse themselves in the grand live performance known as 'Hoi An Memories,' which takes place from 8 PM to 9 PM daily (except Tuesdays).
I have to agree with Reuters in rating this is the most wonderful show in the world. Awesome choreography, combined with world class sound, lighting, laser works and pyrotechnics. The performers work extremely hard for this performance, often starting with the mini shows around the theme park until the grand finale show from 5-9pm. The show ticket allows you to enter the theme park around 4pm. You may feel underwhelming as you may be the only person there at this time. Good for picture taking at good spots without the crowd. Then at close to 5pm, the crowd starts to trickle in, when the mini shows start and keep you entertained until 7pm, where you have 1hr dinner time at the many restaurants. They are reasonably priced. 8pm is where the grand finale show starts at the main stadium. I'd recommend you buy the Hi-class ticket for the best experience. It's situated right at the middle with good height and distance. VIP seatings may be a little too high up and far to experience the sight and sound, but you get individual chair and table though. Will definitely return to watch the show again in the future.
Hoongji — Google review
This is the most beautiful show I’ve ever seen in my life. The performance is exquisitely arranged, with stunning props and world-class effects, yet it still preserves the traditional essence in both the story and the music. Even the mini shows are highly entertaining, with not a single moment that disappoints. I would truly recommend everyone to experience this at least once in their lifetime.
Anisa B — Google review
This show was like watching the Olympics opening ceremony... it blew my mind! An absolute must if you are travelling through Hoi An. VIP tickets were definitely worth it - comfier seats, air conditioning, fruit and water and a full view of the entire stage! The lighting, choreo, music and sheer number of performers was nothing short of spectacular and considering they run it every night (except Tuesdays) is phenomenal
Jessica L — Google review
Located separately on an island, there is a boat that takes us out to watch the show. The performance is great, with beautiful and impressive visuals. However, it can be difficult for foreign visitors who don’t understand much about Vietnamese history and culture. Still, it’s worth coming for the visual experience

We had an absolutely great time at the Hoi An Memory Show! The main show is a must-watch — truly spectacular — and there are several smaller performances worth seeing too. The place is well-managed, beautifully lit, and perfect for clicking photos. Highly recommended for an unforgettable evening!

What a beautiful show it is and must do if you're in Hoi An. We bought the high tickets which we thought were perfect. We had a perfect view. Eco looked overwhelming with all the people and no back rest. VIP was not needed either. The whole show was done very professionally and was beautifully told. We didn't eat inside, but they had lots of options.
The F — Google review
Hoi An can either be gimicky or authentic, it’s all in what you choose to do and how you do it. I’ve caught some things in other reviews that visitors have gotten wrong so want to help shift expectations. If you take tours for everything you’ll often get quite touristy things and if you do it on your own or follow my list, you’ll get a more locally inspired experience. When it comes to Memories Land and the show, I recommend going if you: 💛like Disney 💛like cruises 💛appreciate a good production 💛want to understand the history of Hoi An 💛are ok with being outside and/or 💛have kids Set your expectations: 🤔Only the VIP section is covered from the rain 🤔It’s a representation of the town, a clean and shiny version of it but still photo worthy 🤔The show is outside without fans so drinking water and having a personal fan helps 🤔You can’t take professional photography but can for personal purposes I live here and have gone twice and loved the storyline, it’s genuinely helped me to understand the culture and history. The costumes are beautiful and the dancing is elegant. The stage is massive and the cast is large, the pyrotechnics are bold, and the lighting is engaging. It’s quite an impressive show and can be a really enriching part of your trip if you follow my tips above. Hope you enjoy!
Travwell G — Google review
Fantastic cultural show but unfortunately the screen displaying the subtitles are spaced out too far apart so it was hard to read & we couldn’t follow the story properly. Nestled in the heart of Hoi An's ancient Old Quarter, the Old House of Tan Ky is a beautifully preserved 18th-century merchant residence that offers visitors a glimpse into the past. This remarkable home showcases traditional architectural styles typical of Hoi An townhouses, featuring distinct sections for various functions. The front serves as a shop while the back connects to the river wharf, highlighting its historical role in trade.
Visited this historic house in Hoi An’s ancient town, filled with antiques and traditional furnishings. It’s incredible to see how well preserved it is, especially considering the regular flooding in the area. The markings on the wall showing previous flood levels were especially striking. Hard to believe the house has stood through it all.
David P — Google review
Old House of Tan Ky in Hoi An was very crowded like the rest of the town. There was nothing much to see inside. If you have extra time, then you can visit. It’s a small traditional house, but not a must-visit.
Sai V — Google review
If you're in Hoi An, you have to check out the Tan Ky House! It’s right on the Thu Bon River and is an awesome example of a classic Hoi An merchant's home. Even though it's been around for a while, the house still has this really unique vibe and some super cool stories. You'll get to see how the old merchants did business on the river, check out their unique pulley system, and just admire all the cool architecture. It’s a perfect place to really feel the history and see the true beauty of Hoi An.
Do C — Google review
Requires ticket to enter. We didn’t have any so donated some money at the entrance. This house is one of the oldest near the river and stood strong during many floods and the family still lives on upper floor and they only come here at 7pm. The place closes at 5pm anyway. The whole house is made of wood and there are many “mother of pearl” furnitures which are absolutely stunning! Must visit place if you are curious.
Rachitha K — Google review
Tan Ky Old House was built in 1741. It is the place where 7 generations of Le family have lived. The name “Tan Ky” was used by Mr. Le Tan Ky (the second generation). At that time, this house was used to trade agricultural products. The front of the house is Nguyen Thai Hoc street while the back is Bach Dang street facing Hoai river. At that time, Hoi An was still a busy international trading port with many Japanese, Chinese and Western merchant ships. Therefore, the location of the house is convenient for trading goods. For a long time, Tan Ky Old House has suffered from many floods. Especially in 1964, the flood reached the first floor of the house. However, the house has remained miraculously over the years. In the area selling souvenirs for visitors, you can see flood markers in the house. It is not the oldest house of Hoi An but this is the first ancient house that was pointed “Cultural Work” by the Ministry of Culture and Information in Hoi An since 1985.

Beautiful house with plenty of history behind, they slimed everything here is conserved from ancient times but I kind of and again kind of doubt I’m gonna have to trust, which is true this is a very beautiful and pleasant and most likely one of the most interesting places to visiting within ancient time Although not the best that comes with own preference, I do enjoy temples better and unfortunately capacity here should be controlled, they won’t do it, money is more important Shame
Marcos D — Google review
Great to see this old building, still lived in by the latest generation family. Free tour inside to tell you all about it but they will try and sell you souvenirs at the end. Tickets must be purchased elsewhere in the local ticket office.

The Hội An Lune Center for the Performing Arts offers a captivating experience with its groundbreaking theatrical works such as A O Show, Lang Toi (Village), The Mist, and Teh Dar. These performances feature iconic bamboo trunks, nouveau cirque, juggling, acrobatics, and exotic live music from a variety of folk instruments.
We visited the Hoi An Lune Centre to attend the Vietnam Bamboo Circus. Impressive building especially under lights at night time. Convenient location with many eating options nearby. The circus was high energy and great entertainment. Recommended!
Michael C — Google review
Want to see an amazing art show? You have to look for Lune Production! They’re called “Vietnam’s Cirque du Soleil,” and they have a ton of incredible shows that have been a huge hit both here and abroad. With shows like A O Show and Lang Toi, you’ll get to see how talented Vietnamese artists are, with a mix of dance, acrobatics, and music. It’s an experience you can’t miss when you’re in Hoi An.
Do C — Google review
My detailed review: I must say, I am absolutely fascinated by the Lune Center for the Performing Arts. 👏🏻 As someone who trains in aerial sports, I can confidently say that the performers did an outstanding job! I’ve watched many professional aerial competitions, but I’ve rarely seen what I saw here during the Bamboo Show. That alone speaks volumes about the performers professionalism, strength, and precision. The show itself is breathtaking, with stunning visual effects, a captivating storyline, and mind-blowing performances that left me speechless. More than half the time, my jaw was literally on the floor watching the insane tricks they pulled off on stage. The performers interacted beautifully with the audience and were completely immersed in their roles, it truly felt like being part of the story. 🥰 The staff was also wonderful: we received welcome drinks, clear instructions, and helpful suggestions before the show began. It’s worth noting that photography and video recording are strictly prohibited (the show is protected by copyright), and food or drinks are not allowed inside the theater, which I completely understand and respect. ⭐ My advice: There’s just one thing I think future visitors should know, the seating difference. There are three seat categories: 🎟️ Best (1,600,000 VND) 🎟️ Good (1,050,000 VND) 🎟️ Eco (700,000 VND) When we asked the staff whether the Eco seats were good, they told us we would barely see anything from there. Because of that, we purchased the Good seats for 1,050,000 VND. However, once we entered the theater, we realized that the venue isn’t that big, visibility is actually great from almost every seat. The difference between the seat categories isn’t huge, and you can enjoy the performance perfectly even from the Eco seats. We’re not dissapointed, the performers absolutely deserve every dong we paid ❤️ But I wanted to share this so that visitors have a more accurate expectation. Of course, the Best seats offer the best view, but the overall difference is not significant. To make a long story short... If you’re visiting Hoi An, don’t miss the Bamboo Show. It’s a world-class performance full of art, culture, emotion, and pure talent. All compliments to the performers 🥰❤️👏🏻
Mila D — Google review
This show is as good as any Cirque du Soleil! There are no bad seats, no blocked views, and the front row is ankle level with the stage so don't have to worry about being too low in the front. They are very strict about not letting you film or take pictures during the show so I can't leave you any photos, but you will not be disappointed.
Jim H — Google review
Hội An Lune Center for the Performing Arts is a must-visit for anyone looking to discover Vietnam’s cultural heart in a truly unique way. Nestled in the charming ancient town, this bamboo theatre — the first and only of its kind in Vietnam — offers a magical setting for traditional Vietnamese performances. We had already seen the A O Show in Saigon and loved it, but in Hội An, we attended TEH DAR, and it completely captivated us. The show celebrates the tribal culture of Vietnam’s Central Highlands with incredible acrobatics, live music, bamboo props, and a powerful, poetic atmosphere. It was both visually stunning and emotionally moving — an experience we’ll never forget. The Lune Center isn’t just about entertainment. It’s about immersing yourself in Vietnam’s artistic soul — and doing it in a space that’s as beautiful as the show itself. If you want a cultural highlight that’s fun, inspiring, and different from the usual tourist activities, don’t miss this performance while you’re in Hội An.
Ninon ( — Google review
💎 Real art doesn’t entertain. It awakens. I didn’t expect a performance to reach that deep. Everything — the sound, the light, the movements, the rhythm of bamboo — felt alive. Kind of ancient ritual where a person remembers who they are. At some point I realized I was crying — from beauty, from how honest and human it all was. This is the kind of art you don’t “watch”, you feel through your body.
Dallas D — Google review
This was incredible quality. From the architecture of the theatre to the performance itself. If you were like us and trying to decide between this show and the Memories show, I think if you like the theatre and performance already this will be your dream show. The 700,000 dong seats are perfectly fine too. A wonderful night.

Morning Glory Signature is a highly regarded and sophisticated restaurant in Hoi An, offering a contemporary twist on traditional Vietnamese dishes. The upscale venue, overseen by renowned local restaurateur Ms Vy, presents beloved family recipes with a modern flair. Diners can savor sautéed squid with steamed black rice and lemongrass stalks wrapped with minced meat while enjoying picturesque views of the Japanese Bridge from the balcony.
This restaurant is by the Hoi An river. Place can get crowded to best to make reservation. Food and drinks were good. Service is attentive and prompt even with a large crowd. Prices on the higher side, however it is worth the comfort and live band. Highly recommended place to try.
David K — Google review
The food is generally packed with bold flavors, though many dishes leaned heavily on the salty side. If you enjoy strong, savoury tastes, you'll likely appreciate their offerings more. Highlights include the fried turmeric noodles and baby calamari — both well-executed and flavorful. However, the grilled scallops were a miss for us; they were overwhelmingly salty, masking the natural taste of the scallop. Desserts offered a pleasant surprise with a wide selection that wasn't overly sweet — a nice balance to the savory dishes. Their signature cocktails are also worth trying: reasonably priced, well-mixed, and notably not watered down. You can really taste the alcohol distinctly. Lastly, great river view if you sit at higher floors. Definitely a good bonus!
Tan L — Google review
I have mixed feelings about Morning Glory Signature. I chose this place because it came highly recommended when I asked around for good food in Hoi An. We ordered the rose dumplings, banh xeo, and spiced beef bun. Flavor-wise, everything tasted good; the banh xeo was the crispiest we had in Hoi An, definitely a standout. But the portions were tiny. If you’re really hungry (like we were), this is not the place to eat. The banh xeo came with just four rolls; the dumplings were delicious but barely filling; and the beef buns were just okay. The ambience was a little too fancy for us. We were hoping for a casual dining spot and found the atmosphere a bit intimidating. Unfortunately, service was disappointing. When we asked if the “spices beef bun” was spicy, the staff responded with “it’s called spicy beef on the menu,” even though it actually said “spices.” We tried to clarify, but the tone felt a bit dismissive. Probably just a language misunderstanding, but it didn’t feel great. Lastly, for the small portion sizes, the price didn’t feel worth it. Overall, not a terrible experience, but not somewhere I’d go back to unless I wanted something light and didn’t mind paying more for the setting.
Ayesha C — Google review
You honestly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here! We went for the beef buns, the BBQ chicken lime salad, the famous Hoi An chicken rice, and of course their signature: the morning glory. Every single dish was a hit, but the real showstopper was definitely the Hoi An chicken rice, it stood out for its flavor and uniqueness. Absolutely divine! And whatever you do, don’t skip dessert; the sticky rice with mango is an absolute must, so make sure to save a little room 😋

A really good selection of options. Everything was delicious. The staff were excellent. We ate there twice on the same day 😊 The restaurant is located in a large building that is shared with other restaurants. I believe they are all connected and serve a different take on Vietnamese cuisine.

Our experience at morning glory signature was delightful from start to finish. The dishes we ordered were bursting with flavor, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. Our server, Ngoc was incredibly attentive and friendly, making excellent recommendations. The restaurant's ambiance was warm and inviting, creating the perfect backdrop for our meal. All our questions about the restaurant and partnering establishments were answered with pride and enthusiasm by Ngoc. Thank you.

The service upstairs could be improved. We had made a reservation that they could not find. We felt very neglected and had to call our waitress over several times. Unfortunately the desserts aren't the same as two years ago. You used to be able to get desserts by Vy from downstairs. Now they don't offer them. Also the beef in the soup I got was of a low quality. It had a lot of fat and gristle in it. I expect more from the signature restaurant. It's still beautiful to sit outside on the patio upstairs at night and enjoy the lanterns.

The show brings to life the beautiful culture of Vietnam through skillful puppetry, elaborate water pavilions, and captivating music and lighting. Unlike traditional puppetry found in many countries, water puppetry is exclusive to Vietnam.
We had such a fun night going to watch the water puppets show with a couple other families. Definitely worth the time to see the show. Prices are reasonable and tickets can be bought at the door without a reservation.

It was a very food experience. It is well designed and executed. Are the beginning of everything that they presented There was an explanation in English at the beginning of every scene, it was very helpful to understand what was happening. The puppets were colorful and well animated. The place offered a good view from every point to the stage.

We went to see a show as it is very traditional for Vietnam. It was okay maybe more interesting for kids. There were some impressive effects like fire breathing dragon water puppet. Worth seeing, it lasts about 30 mins and cheaper than shows in Hanoi.

We received the welcome from Uncle Ho and then the show started. It was a nice experience and each segment was also announced in English. It was fun to watch and experience a water puppet show in Vietnam.
J. P — Google review
The water puppet show is an opportunity to see traditional Vietnamese performance art. The puppets are quaint and the stories are traditional. I’m glad we saw it but I’m also glad the show only went for 45 minutes.
Anne M — Google review
A novel cultural experience. Reminds us of times when entertainment was simpler. Genrally entertaining 35 minute show which consists of a series of short Vietnamese folklores. While there was limited English narration, it didn't really matter because it all boiled down to the skills of the puppeteers. Overall, good value for 80k VND (40k for children under 12). Go early to choose centre section seat at mid tier level to get the best view.
Adrian L — Google review
A great activity for the evening! The show is not too long and I haven't seen anything like it before. Very funny moments and beautiful puppets. Good narration through out and cheap to get a ticket.
Zoe D — Google review
Very interesting and fun retelling of Vietnam's village customs in a different way. The puppetry is amusing and very entertaining. The only downside is that the theatre is not in a very nice viewing angle and your sight is easily blocked. Try to get in front of you can.

The Central Market Food Hall in Hoi An is a bustling hub of culinary delights, offering a wide array of Vietnamese dishes at affordable prices. From traditional favorites like cau lao, mi quang, and pho to stuffed squid and fried rice, there's something for every palate. The market is filled with friendly vendors serving up authentic and fresh food that can be enjoyed amidst the lively atmosphere. For the best selection, it's recommended to visit in the morning for breakfast.
It's a great place for a lunch or even Vietnamese breakfast Mrs Hà foodstore (the last one before entering the souvenirs) is the best 30 K VND Cao Lau, Pho, springrols etc 🙏

Meet Mrs Van. She's had a stall at the central market in Hoi An for over 34 years. Obviously there are plenty of great restaurants in Hoi An but it's always hard to beat real market food. The offerings are pretty similar so just find a stall holder who you like. Fresh and crazy cheap. Two great meals about US$2.50. A great place to try different meals. Add chilli jam to spice things up a bit. Don't be put off eating here. It's a great experience

Left smiling You should know what you are looking for and something of the price, otherwise they will make a good deal. Everyone was friendly, not too pushy. We had a beer on a sidebar watching our teenagers shopping and the whole mood. It is a real market for locals as well as tourists, so pay attention to their ways, mood and manners and you will have a smile on your face.

The food is very local. Lots of people. Afternoon can be warm. I tried this stall LO EOS8. Ms Gai was very friendly. I guess I tried most of dishes. Inside was not that hot. Should try

As soon as you enter the market as a tourist, you get a menu pressed into your hands by one of the food stalls that are desperate for you to eat with them. Unfortunately, you don't have time to look around the market and decide for yourself where you would like to eat. All in all, the food was quite good and fairly priced. The lady at the stall was friendly and it wasn't too busy.

Worth a visit but the food is not great. Expensive prices compared to other places in Hoi An that serves better food, all the stalls sell pretty much the same food. Not very comfortable to sit either.

Cargo Club Cafe & Restaurant is a remarkable dining spot that offers a mix of Vietnamese and Western cuisine. Situated by the Thu Bon River, it provides stunning views from its upper terrace. The breakfasts are particularly renowned, featuring dishes like eggs Benedict, while the patisserie and cakes are exceptional. The menu includes fine-dining options and cocktails as well. Although slightly pricier, the balcony overlooking the river makes it worth it.
What a magical dining experience! This riverside restaurant offers a truly stunning view – whether you’re sitting on the balcony or at a table right by the lively street, you’re surrounded by charm. The river sparkles at night with countless floating lanterns and beautifully lit boats, creating an enchanting and romantic atmosphere. Most of the guests here are polite and respectful international visitors, which makes the overall vibe calm and pleasant. The staff are friendly, gentle, and attentive, making you feel comfortable and relaxed from the moment you arrive. The food is simply excellent – fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. Every dish was a delight. The drinks menu is also diverse and pairs wonderfully with the meal. A perfect spot for both couples and groups of friends who want to enjoy authentic food in a dreamy riverside setting. Highly recommended!

Nice location by the waterfront on the second floor outside. Very good food with best taste so far, salt/spicy/sweet. Spring rolls and they adapted the amount for the size of the group, nice. Price wise, a little more than average but to expect here. But no rip off. We order asian cuisine and this was all very good. Picture chicken with sticky rice. The drinks are very strong and almost to much..but if I was 10 years younger I’d probably love it…..

We were walking around the ancient town and saw this place that had very lovely atmoshere so decided to give it a try. Food was just decent overall, except for the Silken Tofu Salad, which was very tasty. Service was okay. Maybe it was because of too much seating (it’s huge inside with 2 floors)? AC on the 2nd floor was a plus. Tbh we ate at one of their sister restaurants in Taste Vietnam restaurant chain and it was better experience.

We had 3 amazing meals here, the first night in Hoi An we had dinner overlooking the river and the view was beautiful. There were 9 of us and the waitress dealt easily with all the split bills. I had a pizza and my wife had pho, both excellent. We then went back the following night just the two of us. I had sea bass curry which was excellent. We also had a snack lunch of fresh spring rolls, SO tasty.

As you wander through this lively atmosphere illuminated by colorful silk lanterns reminiscent of a European Christmas market, you'll find yourself immersed in local culture.
The Hội An Night Market is one of the most beautiful and atmospheric spots in Central Vietnam, just a short drive from Đà Nẵng. In the evening, the entire market street comes alive with the glow of hundreds of colorful lanterns. The lantern-lit ambiance gives the area a magical charm, perfect for strolling, taking photos, and soaking up the unique charm of Hội An. The market itself is vibrant and diverse, with a wide variety of shops and stalls lining the street. Hoi An Night Market is a must-visit! The vibrant atmosphere, colorful lanterns, and variety of local street food make it a perfect evening spot. Great place to shop for souvenirs, handmade crafts, and try Vietnamese snacks. It’s lively but not overwhelming — a memorable cultural experience in the heart of Hoi An.

Hoi An's night view was absolutely stunning! The boat ride was an amazing experience, with its aesthetic beauty leaving a lasting impression. Ticketing was hassle-free, with tickets available within minutes. However, Fabric shop prices were steep, being about three times the original price. There was lantern making classes as well .The only downside was the overwhelming crowd, even on weekdays - I can only imagine how busy it gets on weekends! On the bright side, the numerous eating joints near the lake added to the picturesque scenery, making it a truly memorable experience.

Hoi An Night Market is a magical experience not to be missed. Lit up with colorful lanterns and full of life, it offers a unique blend of local flavors, handmade crafts, and cultural charm. The aromas of street food draw you in, while the floating lanterns on the river create a romantic, almost cinematic atmosphere. It’s a perfect place to sample local sweets, shop for souvenirs, or simply stroll and take in the vibrant colors and rhythm of the city. Although popular with tourists, it still feels authentic and gives you a true taste of Vietnam’s lively nighttime culture.

Hoi An Night Market :) A place full of big, beautiful things! I sent my wish into the sky — for peace of mind and good health for me and my family. That’s all I really need :) As long as my heart is calm and my family stays healthy, everything else can be enjoyed, learned, and achieved along the way. I just hope to become a better version of myself than yesterday, and to stay away from the foolishness of chasing unhappiness by comparing myself to others. -BOFF

Exploring the Hoi An Night Market is a wonderful experience. Walking through the vibrant lantern lit street is amazing and magical. It is lively atmosphere, with a mix of modern and traditional. Enjoyed exploring the different colorful stalls, sharpening my bargaining skills, trying out delicious street foods. It's about feeling the warmth and charm of the locals.

Definitely must visit if you are in Danang. Recommend to set off around 3pm from Danang, as the weather will be cooler by then. Goods sold at the market are similar everywhere else, so you are really going for the vibes and night lights. Releasing the lanterns to make a wish is a popular activity, and you can see a long line of people queuing. Overall we had a great half day at Hoi An!

Nestled in a charming old house near the Japanese bridge, Reaching Out Teahouse offers a serene retreat from the heat with its cool breezes and delightful courtyard. The staff, who are speech and hearing impaired, provide an extensive menu of Vietnamese teas and coffees. Guests can enjoy an elegant traditional tea service by writing down their orders on provided pen and paper. The teahouse also offers a Vietnamese Tea Tasting Set featuring three varieties of tea and a plate of cookies.
A beautiful tranquil experience. We had the local drip coffee with ice and fresh milk. The coffee is perfectly strong and delicious. The cookies are crisp and sweet. We heard about the cafe through our walking tour and so glad we went. It was the best coffee we’ve had in Vietnam so far! Such a wonderful cause and a stunning handmade jewellery and tea sets at the back. Staff are kind and helpful when showing how to assemble the coffee. Highly recommend going here!

Really enjoyed my experience at this silent cafe. We tried two house coffees which were excellent and went for the cookie tasting set which entailed of a selection of mini cookies. Everything tasted amazing with a lot of flavour. Especially loved the decor and aesthetics of this place, from the table, to sugar pot and cups were handmade and just beautiful. This cafe is a silent space. You can communicate with the staff using blocks with text on it. The location also great for people watching!

A quiet oasis in the middle of Hội An. The staff is very friendly and the communication through wooden blocks works really well! The teas a delightful and the little treats are very interesting and tasty. Would definitely recommend getting the snack tasting set. My favourite were the green tea coconut treats. If it weren’t for my already very full and heavy luggage I would have brought home multiple bags of them! Would also recommend checking out the boutique in the back. Beautifully crafted tea sets and jewellery galore. I bought a t golden tea strainer in the shape of a lotus leaf and golden chopsticks with intricate engravings.

A wonderful place in which to have some peace and quite in Hoi An! For about 250,000 VND, we had two house coffees and the cookie tasting tray. The coffees were strong and flavoursome. The staff showed us what to do to maximize the experience and were incredibly kind and courteous. The cookie tray featured a small range of biscuits which tasted amazing. At this coffee house, you communicate through writing messages on small notepads and through the use of message blocks. This creates a really calm atmosphere in which to enjoy your drink. However, some visitors were really loud when walking in, or when talking on the phone. A noticeboard for such inconsiderate people would be really useful to have at the front of the shop :) If you want a place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of Hoi An, escape the scorching sun, or just have an amazing drink, this teahouse is the place to go!
Juan P — Google review
This teahouse is run by hearing-impaired staff and feels completely different from the busy streets outside. Once you step in, it’s calm, quiet, and peaceful. A really nice place to slow down and take a break. The passion fruit oolong tea was light and refreshing. I also tried their handmade cookies and every flavor was tasty. Staff were warm and welcoming, and the service felt very thoughtful. If you need a quiet spot away from the noise of the old town, this place is a great choice. I would definitely come back again.

Soul Kitchen is a well-known beach bar in Hoi An, located right on the coast. It's a popular spot with comfortable sun beds, a grassy terrace, and live music in the evenings. The bar offers a variety of food options including pizza from nearby Luna d'autunno. With its stunning ocean views and welcoming atmosphere for families, Soul Kitchen is a beloved destination for drinks, dinner, and live music.
Spot with a Beautiful Vibe A good, cozy place to unwind with a relaxed vibe that makes it perfect for a laid-back afternoon or a chilled evening. If the sea isn’t too rough, you can even walk down closer to the water, which adds a nice touch to the experience. The seating is thoughtfully spread out, offering plenty of options whether you want to soak in the view or just sit back and chat. The menu is simple but everything is fresh, and the food is genuinely delicious. It’s not trying too hard — just good flavors done right. A great spot for a sundowner, especially if you enjoy scenic views and a calm atmosphere. Just be aware it can get windy and a bit chilly, so carrying a light layer is a good idea. All in all, a great find for anyone looking to relax by the sea with good food and vibes.

Food was great. Had the chicken teriyaki and the thai chicken curry. Cocktails were watery and didnt taste like there was any alcohol in them. Not worth the price. Service was average. Took ages for anyone to come and take our order. And again to ask if we wanted more drinks. Lots of mosquitos at night. Beautiful spot on the beach. I am sharing my experience in hope the restaurant pass the feedback onto their staff as the service has room for improvement. Maybe consider some music playing and fans on for all diners to feel comfortable.

In the heart of Hoi An stands The Old House of Phung Hung, a well-preserved 18th-century merchant's residence that offers a glimpse into traditional Vietnamese architecture and the lifestyle of affluent merchant families. This historic home, once belonging to a family selling spices, silk, and chinaware, boasts original furnishings and ornate decorations.
A Special Experience at Phung Hung Ancient House I had the opportunity to visit Phung Hung Ancient House on the exact day they held their Lunar New Year offering ceremony. This is one of the most beautiful and historically significant ancient houses in Hoi An, preserving many traditional architectural and cultural elements. What made my visit special was witnessing the family's New Year ritual. The air was filled with the delicate scent of agarwood incense, its sacred smoke rising in accordance with Vietnamese customs. The atmosphere felt warm, serene, and deeply spiritual. Additionally, I learned about the house's history, its unique blend of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese architecture, and the fascinating stories of the Phung Hung family. It was a memorable experience that gave me a deeper appreciation of Hoi An’s cultural heritage. If you ever have the chance, I highly recommend visiting and immersing yourself in this special ambiance!

When you're in Hoi An, you shouldn't miss this old house right next to the Japanese Bridge and the Hoi An Book Shop. It was probably built in the early 1800s, and its most unique feature is the two-story covered atrium, which might have been influenced by Japanese design. You can buy a ticket to go inside and check out the whole place.

No description on the history of the house. The setup is very haphazard and instead of focusing on highlighting the antiques in the house, there are strangely placed goods for sale. Unfortunate situation for a historic property.

My first negative experience as a tourist in Vietnam; not massively negative but leaving an unpleasant feeling. We were not made to feel welcome - indeed one member of staff was talking to the woman showing us table cloths, looking at my wife and I not in a friendly way, while laughing. Enough to activate my paranoid fantasies, which is not a good feeling to associate with a place.

Phung Hung ancient house was included in the last part of Monkey Mountain – Marble Mountains – Coconut Jungle – Hoi An City Full-day tour, wherein our tour guide walked us through the old town , JApanese and chinese influenced towns. Wonderfully maintained, and gives a sneak peak at the history and past.

It is an old building with furniture and plaques that are over 100 years old. But it's in bad maintenance . And the staff sold all kinds of souvenirs, which made people feel a little disappointed. These ancient buildings and furniture can be better protected.
Hua F — Google review
The house itself was interesting but I was quite disappointed at the guides/owners of the house because I experienced blatant racism and rudeness from them because I was south East Asian looking and I noticed other south East Asians were treated the same way as I was in that house. I got in, they immediately checked my ticket but ignored me soon after even when I was trying to ask about the history house. However, when there were some Caucasian people coming in, they a few of them started guiding them around telling them about the history about the house. I had to ask them point blank if one has to pay for a guide to talk about the house (which I was happy to pay for) in order to learn about the house. They said no, it’s all free and told me to listen into the people who got in at least 20 min after I did, were then greeted immediately and chauffeured by the guide in French. When I explained to them that I didn’t understand French, the lady rolled her eyes at me and then reluctantly they asked another person to guide me in English then pressured me to buy their embroideries. There was definitely element of racism there because of my appearance and perhaps they feel I don’t have the same spending power in the house. I felt quite upset by the entire experience if I were treated better I would have bought things to support that family like I have done in the other houses. I feel like this house didn’t have much to offer and didn’t understand why it was recommended in some guide books I read as I had far better experience in other houses where the guides treated everyone fairly and respectfully and houses were more interesting to explorer.

La Plage, the sole restaurant at Sheraton Grand Resort in Danang, offers a diverse menu catering to both local and international tastes. The Claypot Pho with beef is highly recommended for breakfast, while the pizza and ribs are also popular choices. The staff, including manager Ms. Tam and server Vy, are attentive and contribute to a pleasant dining experience. Guests can enjoy picturesque views while savoring high-quality Vietnamese and Western dishes such as Bahn Mi or Cau Lau.
Excellent ocean views and great drinks. We went here quite a few times as a part of our stay at the hotel in which it is housed. The food is acceptable and generally delicious and good on quality and quantity but the drinks are great and so is the view. Do recommend their whiskey negroni a boulevardier with scotch instead of bourbon/ rye. The bar tender is a kind soul who can listen patiently and customize the drinks to your preference. Would recommend the place if you are in this part of the town.

Nestled in a serene garden oasis, Jack's Cat Cafe is a delightful haven for both feline lovers and food enthusiasts. This charming spot features over 100 rescued cats who roam freely among lush trees, tranquil ponds, and quaint pagodas. Guests can unwind with refreshing beverages or savor delicious vegetarian dishes from a menu that changes regularly, including tasty options like guacamole on rye and crispy tofu wraps.
The most memorable part of our 10 days trip! We chanced upon Jack’s Cat Cafe on Google while searching up must visit places in Hoi An, and we had the happiest time ever! Aside from the extremely cute 100+ cats and few dogs that we met, the owners themselves are literal angels! The owners were God-sent, sacrificing their lives back home in Europe to take care of local kitties in a little town called Hoi An. We felt much positive energy and unconditional love from them for the animals there. We are so thankful for all the work that they’ve done, and we appreciate them so much for making the world a better place for all the cats & dogs that they’ve ever came across. Every cat or dog has a name, and a story to tell, each one with their own unique personalities and charm. Although operating at full capacity, no animal would be turned away by them. We were lucky to have had the time to visit on 3 different days, no amount of time will ever be enough there! Please remember to book in advance, visits are kept short as they prioritize the well-being of the animals there. Thank you for the unforgettable times we spent at your sanctuary. It’s heaven on Earth. Sending love all the way from Singapore!

I recently visited for the second time. The staff are lovely and they have made a perfect haven for the cats at the new location. The cats are all healthy and happy. I had a wonderful morning with the cats and could have stayed all day! The work they do is amazing, please support them by visiting.

I didn’t take any photos because I was too caught up in the experience, which says a lot about how special it was. The coconut coffee was good, but the real reason to come here is the cats. They are clearly well cared for, and a couple of hours with them is time well spent. I also bought a tote bag that supports their mission to make Hoi An dog and cat meat free. The quality is great and the message is even better. Do yourself a favor and visit. It is a meaningful way to spend part of your day while supporting a cause that matters.

I loved this experience! Don’t forget to book in advance. They are only open 3 times a week for a short time to allow the cats their rest and privacy. This means that they are super happy and cuddly and want all your attention when you come in though 🥰 there’s over a 100 cats and the staff and volunteers know all of them by name and are happy to tell you all their stories and little quirks. The space feels super peaceful, well taken care of and clean. Highly recommend a visit!

I come to Jack's every time I come to Hoi An. It's the best cat café I've ever been to in all my travels. The cats are obviously well cared for and well-loved. The drinks are tasty. The entire place is clean and well-designed, especially this newest location. The people who run Jack's are some of the kindest, most caring people you'll ever meet. They're doing amazing work and deserve your support. I always leave a donation when my time there is up and I hope everyone else who visits does the same.

They’re doing amazing work here at this shelter / cat cafe! The cats are all amazingly friendly - sit down and you’ll have a few on your lap or even on your shoulders. The volunteers are really lovely, know all the cats by name and can tell you all about them. They’re doing such great work in the community - definitely take the time to go in and support these guys!

A fantastic place to visit with 108 rescued cats. We sat down and immediately had cats on our laps. They are well cared for and the staff know them by name and personality. You need to book in advance and they are only open a few days a week. Our coffees were really nice and we enjoyed supporting such a good cause.

Hoi An Market is a vibrant and bustling marketplace offering a mix of indoor and outdoor vendors selling everything from produce to clothing and souvenirs. Located near the Ancient Town, it's a convenient spot to grab some local bites before exploring more of Hoi An. The market also offers a variety of traditional dishes such as Quang Noodles and local cakes like Gai Cake and Rose Cake.
Beautiful place to visit especially during the Moon festival! It's so colorful. You can just walk around, ride the boat and light a lantern, or simply hang out and have drink. I definitely recommend to visit this place!

Lots of souvenirs to buy but found it much cheaper in Danang. There were lots of cafe and their foods/drinks were great. The Old town area is vibrant at night. No wonder it’s called the City of Lanterns. If given a chance, would definitely be back.

If you want to get a real street food experience in Hoi An, you have to go to the Central Market! They have a ton of traditional dishes there for a super affordable price. Even though the market can get pretty crowded with tourists, it still feels really traditional and is a great place to try local food.

Tucked away on the stunning An Bang beach, Sound of Silence Coffee Shop in Hoi An is a true coastal gem that invites you to unwind while soaking in breathtaking ocean views. Just a short drive from the historic charm of Hoi An ancient town, this laid-back café is set within a lovely garden and offers ample outdoor seating where you can sip your coffee as the waves gently lap at the shore.
We are in love with this place. Their indoor seatings already catch eyes but when walking up a little, we see the outdoor seatings facing the waves, we have no doubt that it’s the best place to sit and enjoy. Need to order at counter located at entrance. Then, they bring it to your table. Their hot green tea is the best ever drink in a coffee shop, they even accept to refill. They do a few simple dishes, such as fresh fruits with oats and yogurt at reasonable price. They also have a large menu for dine-in. The price of these cooked food is with mark-up, as they probably have it cooked by a nearby restaurant.

The stunning ocean view creates a relaxing and picturesque atmosphere, perfect for unwinding or catching up with friends. The sound of waves and gentle sea breeze make the experience even more delightful. The drink is nice, I am not overly focused on drinks coz I am not a coffee enthusiast. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring great service. Whether you're looking a refreshing afternoon break, or a peachful sunrise spot, this café is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Very beautiful coffee shop with cozy Indoor seating as well as seats directly facing the beach. We had the coconut coffee, which at 85k is quite pricy, however it was probably the best coconut coffee we've ever had! The coconut cream they pour onto the robusta Espresso shot is freshly made and they even serve you a glass of coconut water as accompaniment :) The highlight of the coffee shop for me was the view from top overlooking the beach! Definitely give it a go, when you want to treat yourself to a fancy coffee 😊
Nirvana D — Google review
They have a nice coffee spot, though the seats on the beachside wasn’t as pleasant as I had expected (I visited in June so they might have made changes by then). Thankfully, the indoor space is very comfortable and cozy. I especially loved their egg coffee - rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. A good place to relax and enjoy a quality cup of coffee.

Great coffee shop with a lot of sitting places and even working places too!! There's an inside area perfect for digital nomads, there's the terrace as well which overlooks the sea and even there you can find plugs all over! The prices are a tiny bit higher than other cafés but is completely worth the experience, the coffee and the service! I definitely loved this place! They even offered coffee from my home country!
Natalia F — Google review
Great salted coffee - solid mango smoothly. The café allows you to go out to their beach location, so after you order go easy up and out to get a seat over the water.
Joseph R — Google review
Loved the ambience and the location, it’s in the Hidden beach, that makes it a best place to relax after the beach visit. The coffee was good, enjoyed the experience.
Anandhi S — Google review
This café presents beautifully at first glance — stylish, well-designed, and clearly the result of thoughtful planning. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and service failed to match the setting. The club sandwich, while attractively presented and priced at a premium by local standards, was let down by low-quality ingredients, lack of seasoning, and the use of basic white supermarket bread. When offering Western-style dishes at higher prices, customers reasonably expect a level of care and authenticity in preparation that simply wasn’t there. Service was a major disappointment. The waiting staff appeared distracted and disengaged throughout my visit. Basic details — such as providing napkins, a knife to cut the sandwich, or condiments — were overlooked until specifically requested. The staff, including the floor manager seemed more interested in returning to their phone than in attending to guests. It’s a pity, as the café’s concept and design show real promise. With better supervision, improved training, and a focus on quality ingredients and a strong management team it could easily live up to its potential. As it stands, however, the experience fell way way short of what the setting suggests.

Bridge
Chùa Cầu, also known as the Japanese Covered Bridge, is a significant landmark in Hoi An, Vietnam. Dating back to the 18th century, this wooden bridge was built by Japanese merchants to connect their quarter with the Chinese quarter. The bridge features intricate carvings and sculptures of two dogs and two monkeys, symbolizing prominent Japanese Emperors' birth years. Surrounded by ancient houses adorned with lanterns, Chùa Cầu holds cultural and historical significance.
The Japanese Bridge, located in Hoi An Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most fascinating cultural attractions in Vietnam. Built in the 17th century, this monument has witnessed many changes in the town. If you come to Hoi An, it is a must-visit. The Japanese Bridge is called Chua Cau Bridge in Vietnamese. It was built by Japanese merchants to connect with the Chinese neighborhood. It was built for communication and connections and has a very important meaning. The Japanese Bridge in Hoi An is considered a beautiful representation of the town’s long history. For centuries, this bridge has connected the past, present, and future. In 1719, Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu visited Hoi An and inscribed the name “Lai Vien Kieu” in three characters at the entrance of the bridge. This means “Lai Vien Kieu” in Vietnamese and “Bridge to Welcome Guests from Far Away” in English. Also, because this tower was mainly built by the Japanese, it was named the "Japanese Bridge" or "Japanese Covered Bridge." Although it is commonly called the "Japanese Bridge," it is a unique combination of Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese cultures in terms of building materials, design, patterns, and decorations. On February 17, 1990, this bridge was designated as a national historic and cultural heritage. There are a dog and a monkey at the entrance and exit of the bridge, respectively. These two statues symbolize the guardian deities of the bridge, as they symbolize protection and safety in Japanese culture. It is also said that these two statues mean that the construction began in the Year of the Monkey and was completed in the Year of the Dog. Various cafes and restaurants have been built on both sides of the street centered around the Japanese Bridge, utilizing old and quaint houses. The old cultural heritage of Hoi An (UNESCO World Heritage) and the appearance of the ancient city still remain along the street. There are many unique cafes and restaurants here. There are also many shops selling traditional specialties, handmade products, and souvenirs on the street. And there are various galleries of various genres gathered here. This street was also a place where trade between Vietnam and Japan was active in the 17th century. It is a place with many things to see, so I recommend you visit. Unlike the daytime, the nighttime scenery is also breathtakingly beautiful.
Danny H — Google review
The rich history of Hoi An is captured beautifully by this landmark bridge and the nearby Chinese temple, but the true charm of old Hoi An lies in the glorious street scene with shops, restaurants and coffee outlets galore, and as far as we could tell they’re all awesome. Each evening the locals put on events like the lantern parade on the river, and the spectacular Hoi An memories show which I personally cannot recommend highly enough.
Peter L — Google review
It's a nice bridge but don't get your expectations too high! You'll enjoy taking pictures there if it's not too crowded. I think this place is more interesting if you are into historical stuff, the origin of the bridge, architecture, etc. Other that that... It's a bridge!
Dimitri S — Google review
This iconic landmark sits in the heart of Hoi An’s Old Town and offers both charm and history. Built in the late 16th century by Japanese traders, it connected their settlement with the Chinese quarter across the river and symbolized peace between the communities. It’s beautifully decorated and famously guarded by statues of dogs and monkeys at either end — symbolic of the years it began and was completed. The area can get quite busy, especially around lunchtime, late afternoon, and into the evening when the lighting is perfect for photos. Many visitors gather on the riverbank to capture the bridge in all its charm. Despite the crowds, it’s a must-visit while exploring the Old Town.
John W — Google review
The Hoi An Covered Bridge is known a the tourist symbol of the Old Town. One of the highlights on Hoi An tourism with its quiet street scenery. The pagoda is designed with wood imbued with Japanese style with a graceful roof and the foundation is made of stone pillars.

If you’re visiting Hoi An, don’t miss this little gem! The whole town feels full of history and charm, and this shop fits right in. Khoi Khoi Design has so many beautiful handmade dresses — unique pieces for both adults and kids. The quality and design really stand out, and each piece feels one of a kind. The owner was so kind and patient, helping me find the perfect fit. I love that everything is locally made — such a meaningful souvenir to bring home. Definitely worth a visit if you have 2 days in Hoi An!

Hoi An ancient town, also known as Old Town, is a captivating destination spread across thirty hectares near the Thu Bon River. It thrived as a bustling trading port from the 16th to 18th centuries, connecting Europe, China, India, and Japan. This historical significance has resulted in a rich cultural blend unique to Vietnam. The town's origins date back to the Le Dynasty in the late 16th century and have since become a popular tourist spot.
Hoi An Ancient Town is one of the most charming and magical places I’ve ever visited. The streets are beautifully preserved with colorful lanterns, old houses, and a mix of cultures that make the atmosphere so unique. Walking through the town feels like stepping back in time, yet it is full of life with local markets, traditional food, and friendly people. At night, the lanterns light up the whole town, creating a scene that is absolutely breathtaking and unforgettable. Everything is well organized for visitors, but still keeps its authentic charm. The combination of history, culture, and beauty makes Hoi An not just a destination, but an experience filled with nostalgia, warmth, and joy

Unique atmosphere and vibrant colors especially at evenings. Recommend to stay after 6 pm to enjoy lanterns, boat trips and great dinner. Round trip by taxi is around 650k; don’t agree to stop at boat trip prior to arrival to Hoi An city ( overpriced , crowd and dirty at 450k boat trip for 2; I assume taxi drivers get commission for the guests they bring there 😜) instead you can get boat trip once you arrive the city. Recommend to have a diner / lunch at Morning Glory

Hoi An Old Town is absolutely beautiful and full of charm. The lantern-lit streets, yellow buildings, and riverside views make it such a peaceful and picturesque place to walk around. There are lots of small shops, cafés, and restaurants to explore, and the atmosphere at night is magical when the lanterns light up. It can get crowded during the day, but early mornings and evenings are perfect for a quiet stroll. Definitely a must-visit when in Vietnam.
Lydia C — Google review
A living museum of old-world charm, where time seems to slow down amidst lantern-lit streets and ochre-hued shophouses. The Japanese Covered Bridge stands gracefully as a symbol of harmony, while riverside cafés offer the perfect respite to watch boats drift by under the tropical sky. Every alley reveals something delightful — from tailor shops and temples to local coffee spots shaded by lush trees. The architecture, blending Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese influences, tells stories of centuries past. Whether you wander aimlessly or sit and soak in the atmosphere, Hoi An leaves an indelible impression — serene, colourful, and deeply soulful.

Hoi An Ancient Town is such a beautiful place, especially at night when all the lanterns light up, super magical! The town is really lively with so many tailor shops and cute coffee spots everywhere. They also have lots of linen dresses, super cute and affordable! Just make sure to negotiate a little before buying. Love the riverside view and the chill vibes. You can walk around, try local food, take nice photos, and just enjoy the atmosphere. Definitely one of my favorite places in Vietnam!
Nur S — Google review
Hoi An has always held a special place in my heart peaceful, romantic, and full of charm. The lantern lit streets, the gentle sound of oars on the Hoai River, and the aroma of cao lau, mi quang, and banh mi Phuong create a living painting of Vietnamese soul and culture. I truly love Hoi An every corner, every lantern seems to tell its own story. But now, seeing Hoi An submerged under deep floodwater, I can’t help but feel sad and heartbroken. This beloved ancient town is struggling through the storm, and I just hope Hoi An will soon dry up and shine again with smiles, lights, and familiar flavors filling its streets once more. Stay strong, Hoi An. TD ❤️

The talented artist, Hằng Dũng, offers personalized lanterns and large oil paintings for purchase. Visitors can also participate in lantern-making workshops during the lantern festival. The owners are friendly and provide expert guidance while allowing participants to choose the size, shape, fabric color, and design of their lanterns.
A must go visit for lantern making. Hang is really nice and has great English. Her staff are all Vietnamese and there English isn't great but for me this adds to the experience as they are super helpful. Free snacks and tea and coffee, and a free additional souvenir with every lantern. So at 120,000 per lantern this is a great price.

I joined the lantern-making class at Hằng Dũng during my visit to Hội An, and it turned out to be such a fun and memorable experience! From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed by a colorful space filled with beautiful lanterns hanging all around. The staff were incredibly attentive and guided me patiently through each step – from assembling the frame to carefully wrapping the fabric. Even if you’ve never tried anything like this before, they make it simple and enjoyable. What I really appreciated was the little touches: the class includes a small snack and bottled water, and the workshop is in an air-conditioned room, which makes the whole experience comfortable (especially in Hội An’s warm weather!). At the end, you get to bring home your handmade lantern – such a unique and meaningful souvenir compared to just buying one from a shop. If you’re in Hội An and looking for something cultural, creative, and relaxing to do, I’d highly recommend this class. It’s not just about making a lantern, but also about bringing home a piece of Hội An’s soul. 🌸

A must experience whilst in Hoi An. Mrs Hang is a lovely person that runs the lantern making school. It is best to what's app message her where she will send details of her prices, what it includes and times you can visit. You then message her just 30 mins before to confirm your arrival time, number of people and size of lantern yo wish to make. You can choose to either make the lantern frame, then cover it in fabric of your choice or paint onto a blank canvas. Or you can skip the frame making and decorate in fabric or paint your design. You can then add trims and a tassel to hide any rough edges! The price for a 20 or 30cm lantern to decorate or paint is 120k. This includes a well-made lantern frame, the fabric, trimmings, tassel, a drink, snacks whilst working, and a free souvenir to take away! Amazing price to gain a skill in creating your own handmade lantern. The lanterns also fold up for travelling! Mrs Hang is very patient and will help you throughout the process if you need it. I recommend anyone to do this, a great few hours spent. Thank you, Mrs Hang 😘

Tucked away in a narrow alley just off Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hoi An Coffee Hub is a charming spot adorned with mossy walls and coffee-themed decor. Guests also appreciate the warm welcome from the owner and staff, as well as unique offerings like coconut coffee prepared with fresh coconut milk.
Such a cozy nice coffee place. It's a hidden gem in Hoi An. The coffee place is a tranquil at the end of a calm alley in the middle of the always busy and loudly Hoi An ancient city. The owner is a great guy with very good English that will happily explain about the coffee making process and help you to decide incase you are new to Vietnamese coffee. I had the traditional Vietnamese black coffee and my wife had the coconut coffee - both were delicious. Price is competitive and the place has a beautiful atmosphere, with a lust garden and a a beautiful small koi pond. Even the toilet is charming. Best coffee I had in Hoi An and maybe in Vietnam :)

Wonderful service. A must visit

Lovely place with a languid peaceful atmosphere. We had the egg coffee and the hot coconut coffee. Both excellent. The egg coffee is a work of art unique to this cafe. It's carefully made with flambéed frothy sweetened egg topped with little pieces of crystallised orange jam. The robust coffee cuts through with just the right strength to complement the sweetness. The coconut coffee is made with frothed slightly sweetened coconut milk to give a delicious mild breakfast coffee. Cool garden and interior tucked away from the busy streets. Mellow music and free jasmine tea. Friendly welcome.

Excellent egg coffee. The egg yolk is baked with sugar - in a cup - and tastes like a fine layer of meringue. The coffee underneath is delicious. Their coconut coffee is awesome too. I also bought some Arabica beans that tasted great as an espresso trial.

The location of this coffee shop is what sets it apart and gives it the high ranking. It’s right in Old Town but very easy to miss because it’s tucked so far down a quiet alley. The staff are very attentive. We had an egg coffee and it was good but not amazing. They make theirs similar to a custard (think crème brûlée) and to me personally, that’s not the best. But, the drink was good and the atmosphere is shady and quiet, a perfect escape from the hustle of Old Town.

Each dish lived to its expectation. The setting was peaceful and lovely. The service is amazing as well as the good being delicious. We went here 2x in 1 day just because this place is worth every $. 10/10 recommended!!!!

Mom and I had lunch here yesterday. Not only is the food out of this world tasty, the staff are are so friendly and go out of there way to help. One staff member came down the stairs to offer Mom a hand to get up them or should I day both of the stairs. The ethos behind the restaurant is amazing. We will be back very soon, and will widley recommend it to other people.

Great, calm atmosphere. Feels up market while still being reasonably priced. The staff are so kind and are clearly being very well trained by streets international. The food is delicious. We have been twice since arriving in Hoi An two days ago!

A beautiful and delicious experience! Cannot fault the delicious food or the service. Added to that it’s for a great cause, this is a Hoi An must do. We were served by Anh Tu (he was wearing glasses, think we have his name correctly) and he was delightful. My kids also loved the flight of noodles dish as much as we did and are very keen to visit again soon!

Noodle House is an absolute must-visit in Hoi An! On our very first night it was just a short stroll from where we were staying, and days later we were still thinking about it. We didn’t know the story behind this place until we sat down, and it truly added to the experience. The whole team was so lovely and welcoming! They even took the time to explain each dish and the condiments when they served them—a small but thoughtful gesture you rarely get back home. We ordered the Fresh Local Seafood Noodles (so fresh, you can really taste the handmade noodles) and our toddler absolutely devoured them. The caramelised eggplant and tofu in the claypot was another standout—so simple, yet cooked to perfection. To finish, we were offered the crème flan… wow! Honestly one of the best desserts I’ve ever had—even though I’m not usually a dessert person. For only $3 AUD, it’s incredible value for that level of quality! Delicious food, amazing service, affordable prices—this place ticks every box. If you’re in Hoi An, make sure you don’t miss it

It’s so good that I forgot to take photos of other dishes, but here’s my favorite one, the flight of noodles! Definitely will come back and missing Hoi An already! Special thanks to Phuc for the great hospitality! P.S. buy the recipe book too! So if you miss the Vietnamese food, you can try cooking at your home.

Heaven and Earth Bicycle Tours Hoi An offers a unique way to explore the beautiful scenery of Hoi An. In addition to traditional bicycle tours, they also offer cyclo tours, providing a leisurely way to take in the sights without having to pedal. The Real Vietnam tour provides an insightful look into the countryside, with knowledgeable guides sharing interesting information about the area.
From the beginning super easy to book. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They are local to the area. The pace of the cycling is slow and steady good for families. If people want more challenging experience they need to do the mountain biking tour. You are introduced to local customs and art forms native to the area. The bikes are easy to use. The lunch they provide is HUGE but tasty. The local families that involved in the tour are very welcoming. Plus you see from the land and water. The bamboo boat lesson was very fun. You get to try it out for yourself. I would use this company again.

We booked a morning bicycle tour for 2 adults and 2 kids and we had an absolutely amazing time 😊 Enjoyed exploring more authentic and local parts near Hoi An. Our tour guides (Tuan) were super nice and very knowledgeable The ride was doable for my 8 years old. Loved to meet “sexy lady” at the basket boat and having lunch in a local house I will definitely recommend to any friends or family travelling to that area. Thank you very much!

Heaven and Earth Bicycle Tours in Hoi An offers more than just a ride—it’s a beautifully curated journey into the heart of Vietnamese culture. We chose the tour that includes a cooking class, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. It all begins with a stroll through a bustling local market—don’t miss Stand 55!—where colors, scents, and smiles welcome you into the rhythm of daily life. From there, a gentle bike ride brings you to the smallest island in the area, a peaceful oasis where the cooking class takes place. In this charming open-air setting, we learned how to prepare traditional Vietnamese dishes with local hosts who were warm, patient, and full of joy. Every ingredient had a story, and every dish was a celebration of simplicity and flavor. The day ends with a scenic ride back and a tranquil boat trip, letting you soak in the beauty of Hoi An from the water. Heaven and Earth doesn’t just show you Vietnam—it invites you to truly feel it, taste it, and pedal through it. A heartfelt, hands-on adventure we won’t soon forget.

We had a fantastic experience! We did both the countryside cycling tour and the cooking class the next day. Both were fantastic, and the guides were incredible. I would definitely recommend adding the local market visit before the cooking class. Thank you so much; we loved it!

Our guide Dang for our full day Adventure cycling tour was excellent. Very knowledgeable and spoke great English. If you really want to see how and where the locals live, this tour is for you! We were out for 8 hours and did not see another tourist. Many stops along the way to learn about local cultures and industries. We learnt a lot with Dang’s great knowledge. Also, the communication with the company from booking and leading up to our tour was great.

We had an exceptional experience with Heaven and Earth Bicycle Tours in Hoi An. Our guide was not only friendly and humorous but also spoke impeccable English, making the tour both enjoyable and informative. Among the various bike tours we undertook in Vietnam, this one stood out as the best. The tour commenced at 9 AM and concluded around 4 PM, encompassing a diverse range of activities. We visited a traditional house, experienced a ride in a basket boat, explored local temples, and interacted with skilled artisans. The itinerary was thoughtfully curated, offering a deep dive into the authentic Vietnamese countryside and culture. What truly impressed us was the value for money. Considering the extensive activities and personalized experience, the price was remarkably affordable. Additionally, the group sizes are kept small, ensuring a more intimate and engaging experience. For those seeking an immersive and genuine exploration of Vietnam’s rural charm, Heaven and Earth Bicycle Tours is a top recommendation.

Cham Island Diving is a fantastic destination for both diving enthusiasts and those looking to explore the underwater wonders of Vietnam. With English-speaking guides, they offer exceptional diving classes and guided snorkeling trips that cater to all skill levels. Visitors can unwind on stunning white-sand beaches while sipping fresh coconuts, creating a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. The experience aboard their traditional wooden boat is charming, with new equipment provided by a friendly crew dedicated to ensuring an enjoyable day out at sea.
These guys were great! The trip was most enjoyable amongst the once we researched and skipped many of the tourist areas and provided More time for swimming and island time. The instructors were all super friendly and multilingual….. child friendly too. No issues even with a 3 year old :)

My wife and I had an unforgettable experience with Cham Island Diving, and I can’t recommend them enough! The boat was large and spacious, perfect for relaxing during the roughly hour-long ride to the dive sites. We explored two incredible dive locations, both absolutely worth it. Though the water wasn’t very clear, my dive light helped me peer under rocks to discover vibrant underwater life. The team was incredibly accommodating, making the entire experience seamless. They arranged a car to pick us up at 7 AM from our hotel, M Hotel, and drop us right at the dock, with the return trip just as smooth. After diving, they parked the boat on Cham Island, where we enjoyed a delicious family-style meal included in the price. We relaxed in a secluded area with chairs and hammocks, soaking in the serene vibe. A highlight was watching monkeys playfully eat from leftover coconuts—a unique touch! At just $170 USD for both of us to dive, including the meal and island experience, it’s the best deal I’ve found for diving overseas. Cham Island Diving delivers an exceptional adventure at an unbeatable value!

We had an amazing time with Laura and the team on our snorkelling trip today! The taxi service from the hotel made the whole thing really easy and comfortable and the snorkelling was so much fun. We saw beautiful coral reefs and fish and spent a really good amount of time at each spot. We then had a lovely lunch and a few hours on the most beautiful beach! All the team was so friendly and fun and we highly recommend doing it!
Ella Z — Google review
Positive experience: Diving locations were really good. Beautiful coral and lots of different fish and octopuses. Staff was doing its best and the gear was proper. Speedboat was nice with 26 people on board and they were handing out snacks and water through out the morning. Negative experience: 24 people had to wait almost 30 minutes for a couple who slept in. Other boats left already. So the zero policy isn’t zero. This shouldn’t have to be a big issue. But there was a storm coming which I haven’t seen still. Therefore we stopped 2,5 hours earlier than planned. This time was cut from the beach time. The whole communication about this was really unclear. We came home at 13:38 instead of 16:00-16:30.

Excellent tour. Stopped at two reefs with a beach break in between and a tasty, filling lunch afterwards. Reefs both seemed to be very healthy with many fish, hard and soft coral, and a good variety of invertebrates. They take care of all of the reserve area paperwork, transfers to and from the hotel, and friendly and knowledgable guides and crew. Well worth it for a well spent day in Vietnam.

I went diving today for the first time abroad after completing my Open Water Diver certification – an unforgettable experience! My girlfriend is pregnant and therefore couldn’t join the dive, but she still wanted to come along. The team made this possible and even offered us a discount – really great service! Everything was perfectly organized: the dive instructors were professional yet very friendly, and the equipment was well-maintained and in excellent condition. I completed my 10th and 11th dives, and the instructors adapted perfectly to my level. We didn’t descend too quickly, which gave me a much safer and more comfortable feeling. At the first dive site there was especially a lot to see. The atmosphere on the boat was also wonderful – with only ten people it felt relaxed and not stressful at all. Big thanks to the dive school – it was an amazing experience that I can highly recommend!🙋

Museum
Hoi An Museum, also known as the Museum of History and Culture, is a small yet fascinating attraction located on the grounds of the Quan Yin Pagoda. The museum showcases 212 original artifacts and valuable documents that reflect Hoi An's urban and commercial development over 2,000 years. Divided into four rooms, the museum displays items related to history, culture, revolutionary tradition, and paintings about Hoi An.
Located at 10B Trần Hưng Đạo, in the heart of Hoi An’s ancient town, this museum is housed in a former 17th-century pagoda and adjacent temple. Established in 1989, it covers approximately 800 m² and conserves a timeline of artifacts spanning over 2,000 years—Pre‑Sa Huỳnh, Champa, and Đại Việt periods. • Pre‑Sa Huỳnh & Sa Huỳnh Artifacts: Features tools, jewelry, glassware, and pottery dating back to pre‑history, indicating early agriculture and trade with South India and China . • Champa Era: Displays include fine ceramic fragments, statues, and architectural remnants reflecting regional maritime culture. • Đại Việt Period to Post-War Era: Offers ceramics, old maps, photographs, and documents charting Hoi An’s Golden Age and its role as a trading port, plus insights into community resilience post‑1975 using reconstructions of local crafts and images. Additional rooms present photos and weapons from revolutionary periods, followed by an art gallery showcasing contemporary interpretations of Hoi An. • Time to Spend: Plan for 1 to 2 hours to fully appreciate the displays. • Facilities: Climate-controlled areas, multilingual labels, souvenir shop, and guided tours are available for a richer visit. • Opening Hours & Admission: Typically open 07:30–17:00 daily (some say closed weekends) with tickets around VND 30,000–120,000 depending on where you purchase your ticket.
Andy N — Google review
The ticket booth for the museum is not located within the museum itself; you have to travel a bit to a ticket booth near the ancient town to purchase a ticket. This ticket grants admission to five different attractions. One of the staff members, who spoke English, guided us through parts of the museum and ensured we saw all the exhibits. Although it's a small museum, we think it could benefit from expanding its collection to include more artifacts and historical items.
Elizabeth G — Google review
It's a good museum and the most historical artifacts from this area in one place. For the price ($1 as part of the Old Town ticket) it's a great value. Give yourself 30-60 minutes for the visit.
Noah L — Google review
No crowd when we went here. Actually it was included in the Hoi an ancient town tickets and we were wondering that only a few are going here. Maybe because we went here before lunch time. Nevertheless, you will find a few interesting things here. It might sound redundant if you went to War museum in Ho Chi Minh already. I think they should put more visuals and interesting things about Hoi an here.

Part of the many places to visit in Hoi An when you buy a ticket that gives you entry to five places of interest. This museum was very interesting. It was good to read about the local ancient history of the area and the many influences upon it right through to modern day. There is also a section on the vietnam war and how locals responded to the situation around them. Definitely worth a visit.

Hidden Beach in Hoi An, Vietnam offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of more popular beaches like An Bang and Cua Dai. Tucked away between these two well-known spots, Hidden Beach lives up to its name by being less frequented, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking tranquility. The beach is perfect for activities such as meditation, reading, and sunbathing while listening to the soothing sound of waves.
We highly recommend this beach for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Vietnam. You can enjoy delicious meals at the nearby restaurants and relax on a sunbed with a coconut in hand. It's accessible by bike, motorbike, or Grab. The beach and water are clean, and you'll find traditional coconut boats along the shore. If you look closely at the sand, you’ll spot tiny crabs digging their burrows. It’s a peaceful, charming spot to unwind.

Great beach tucked away between two more crowded ones. Got here early and had it to ourselves for a while. Easy to get a chair and umbrella if you order drinks through one of the restaurants. Sand was clean and the water was pretty clear. Had a great lunch of grilled scallops and steamed clams to top it all off.

Beautiful quiet beach, you don't have to pay for sunbeds. You can order something in a cafe and use a lounger. It's better than paying for a lounger separately and then ordering something extra. That's what they expect on the beach in Da Nang. And it's very inconvenient and expensive. So I recommend this beach because it's empty, beautiful, clean and neat

They charge 35,000vnd per person for entry. I guess it helps support the local crafts. They give you a wooden carving of your Chinese zodiac with your entry ticket. You can have a go at mat weaving. Basically two streets with a few shops with their woodworking displays which you can see similar at Hoi An and buy if you wish. A few shops have tables set up outside for you to try wood carving your name and a pattern like a boat, fish or flower on a wooden coupon to takeaway as a souvenir. May see some woodworking demonstrations outside their shop front. Toilets available.

Bánh Mì Phượng is a renowned Vietnamese street stall located in Hoi An, known for serving what many consider the best bánh mì in the world. The humble streetside stall, with limited space for dining in, attracts long lines of patrons eager to savor its bánh mì offerings.
We visited this place for all the hype on social media and the food didn’t disappoint us. Banh mi - a baguette with Pâté and other fillings. A staple in vietnam , the food introduced by french! The price is very reasonable compared to the ones you get at restaurants. There can be wait if you come during lunch and dinner hours. We were there around 3.50pm so got a table without much wait. The place is not that clean with bread crumbs found on floor because of the customers and the staff got no time to clean it with the place being super busy. Don’t except the place to super hygienic. If you are a foodie you must eat here or you can take away the banh mi too. But we had to eat here along with the amazing avocado shake they serve! Ordered grilled chicken with cheese and the grilled pork one. The Pâté is so tasty that I fell in love with the taste of it. Bread is crispy from outside and soft inside. Also ordered mango smoothie and avocado coconut smoothie. Must try avocado coconut smoothie here. Loved pork banh mi better than the chicken one. Chilli oil was yumm and we poured lot of chilli oil to our banh mi to make it spicier. Service was quick. This place serves the best banh mi. And much better than banh mi queen where they make mostly for foreigners’ taste buds (bland, non-spicy, no chilli oil unless you ask)
Rachitha K — Google review
The sandwiches they serve here are really good. I was skeptical at first but the ingredients they use are not of cheap quality processed meat but have whole chunks of meat as well as their homemade pate. I've ordered the sandwich with chicken and cheese and grilled pork with pate. Both were great and couldn't really tell which I preferred more (make sure to add their own chilli sauce). Avocado smoothie was perfect. The salt coffee was good too but a little bit too sweet for my taste. Overall pretty good value for the price paid. This place is clean and most times of the day full of customers.
Dominik W — Google review
Being a huge Banh Mi fan, I made it my mission to find the best one in Hoi An. The top contenders, of course, were Banh Mi Phuong and Madame Khanh (The Banh Mi Queen). We started with Banh Mi Phuong, it’s the one that Anthony Bourdain famously loved, so expectations were high! Both places have indoor seating, which is great since you can actually sit down and enjoy your sandwich comfortably. I ordered a pork and a chicken banh mi to compare fairly. Unfortunately, the chicken banh mi at Phuong’s was quite a letdown; the meat was dry, the filling wasn’t generous, and the pâté didn’t have much punch. The pork version was better and had more flavor, but the bread could’ve been fresher. Overall, it just didn’t live up to the hype. Next stop: Madame Khanh, and wow, what a difference! I ordered the exact same sandwiches, and this time I was blown away. Both were packed with ingredients, full of flavor, and the pâté… OMG 😲 unreal! The BBQ pork was my absolute favorite, but honestly, I’d order both again in a heartbeat. So yeah, for me, Banh Mi Phuong sadly lost this round. Maybe it’s not quite what it used to be back in Bourdain’s day. Hats off to The Queen 👑 she completely lives up to her title! 🥖

Located in the Old Town Hoi An. The restaurant is very popular and long queues, but it is worth it! The queues is endless, but the staff does an excellent job managing the orders. The baguette is fresh with the right balance of crunch and chewy. The sauce is delicious and well seasoned, family secret and the filling of meats and pork are amazing. The price is reasonable. The best Banh Mi.
Russ L — Google review
Best Banh mi I’ve had in Hoi An. It definitely lives up to all the hype and the price is amazing. The best part or what made them so amazing is the quality of the pate. You can tell it’s heavily seasoned and has been cooked twice which I haven’t seen in many Banh mi restaurants. It’s definitely what makes it taste so good. The bread is very light and crunchy it holds the sandwich together well. The ingredients are all very fresh and the turn over of ingredients is so quick. There are 5 chefs working to assemble the sandwiches at all times. There is an inside seated area if you want to get off the street or out of the heat/rain. The hardest part is dealing with the Instagram/tourists who aren’t sure how or where to order or wait for their food. I came back here 3 times and tried two everytime. One isnt enough try two at a time it’s a good amount to be full but not bloat yourself as one just makes you want another one.
Casey N — Google review
Ordered no.7 (omelette) but was a fried egg not an “omelette” (what I’d expect to be whipped egg yolk & white mixed up) and could’ve done w way more veg filling. Bread was fresh and crispy though so points for that. Ordered avo choc smoothie but got avo coconut instead (possible miscommunication but still yum! Very creamy and fresh). Overall not the best not the worst banh mi.

We enjoyed Madam Khanh. On arrival they were quick to welcome us into the shop. You can select to eat in or takeaway. We sat down Ns ordered the BBQ pork banh mi and two juices. All very fresh. The bread is warm and crunchy out of the oven, the meat and pate is full of flavour. It does have less vegies though than Banh Mi Sum. We enjoyed both Banh mi Sum and this place for different reasons and would return to both.

Best value for money so far. For such a low price with dine-in tables and chairs (proper size, not street-side kid-size) provided it's a value very tough to beat. Banh-mi from cafes are easily double the price here. Service is prompt, efficient, food is served in no time fresh and crunchy. 5 stars for the overall value.
Ken K — Google review
I've had my fair share of banh mi on this trip through Vietnam, and some were very good, but Madam Khanh really does wear the crown. The bread is incredibly fresh and crispy, and the flavors are out of this world. I ordered the #6 with pork, and the spicy sauce is what makes it truly special. It's got a real kick, but if spice isn't your thing, you can definitely ask for it mild. What's cool is that they make your sandwich right in front of you, so it's super fast! I also tried the mango smoothie, which was incredibly refreshing and delicious. If you're a banh mi fan or just looking for a tasty and quick bite, Madam Khanh is an absolute must-try.

Delicious banh mi! We dined in and the service was quick and attentive. They cut both Bahn mi in half for us so that we could share, which was really nice.

One of my favourite Banh Mi I’ve had so far in Vietnam, with a wide range of different meats and fillings, including chicken, and BBQ pork. Their handmade chilli sauce is so delicious and really adds to the overall flavour of the Banh Mi. The staff here are so lovely, and prices are very affordable. Must recomend to anyone staying Hoi An to try as it was so good we had to come back twice.

Long live the Queen. Tried both Banh mi Phuong and Madam Khanh and for me she is the clear winner for best in Hoi An. Every component was exceptional, perfectly crunchy baguette, mixed meat, egg and chili sauce balanced with light veg. Every bite better than the last… I loved it so much I immediately bought another for later.

This is the best bahn me we found in Hoi an. Baguette is always the freshest you can get. Sauce and fillings fresh and delicious, we had it two evenings straight and will come back for more. My vietnamese favourite!

The banh mi was delicious! I ordered the combo, the bbq and iced vietnamese coffee for take away. Total of 105,000 VDN. Great price, tasty. The sales folk were very nice also

Nestled in the heart of Hoi An, the Precious Heritage Art Gallery Museum is a captivating tribute to Vietnam's rich tapestry of ethnic cultures, curated by the talented French photographer Rehahn. This enchanting museum spans two floors; the first showcases 200 stunning photographs that highlight the beauty and resilience of Vietnamese women and their children from various ethnic minorities.
A Hidden Cultural Treasure We stumbled upon this small museum by chance, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. The project showcased here is a profound tribute to Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups, capturing their traditions, expressions, and spirit through deeply moving photography. Every portrait reflects the photographer’s refined eye and emotional connection—his taste for photography is present in every detail, turning images into powerful stories. The sincerity of the people, the beauty of their culture, and the touching stories behind each photo moved me to tears. His work is not only deeply respected by local communities, but also offers invaluable insight for foreigners. Through his art and vision, we gain meaningful knowledge about Vietnam’s diverse heritage—something no guidebook can offer. A true hidden gem that speaks to the heart.

Precious Heritage Museum is a hidden gem in Hoi An. The stunning portraits, traditional costumes, and stories of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups are beautifully presented and very moving. I especially enjoyed watching the video of Réhahn’s journey into remote mountain villages—taking time to build relationships so people felt comfortable before he photographed them. Admission is free, but the experience feels priceless. Unlike many museums, this one feels very personal, almost like walking through the photographer’s own journey across Vietnam. It’s inspiring, humbling, and unforgettable. An inspiring and memorable stop that I’d highly recommend.

My favorite activity during all of my 10 day stay in Hoi An was by far coming to this gem of a place, which I was so lucky to stumble upon. If you’re at all interested in the various ethnic groups and their villages throughout Vietnam this is a place that will provide rich clarity of their history, evolution and customs in an extraordinary way. Everything is presented through the eyes of a curious French photographer that stumbled upon some of the ethnic groups years ago during his early motorbike travels in Northern VN. He befriended some of the groups early on and ultimately reached out and met every single ethnic group in VN, some who are so remote and removed they rarely see anyone outside their tribe. He took pictures, learned the unique characteristics and customs for each group and in many cases had been gifted clothing that are now on display there. There is an incredible film that plays on loop that runs maybe 45 mins but some people seem to hang out there and continue loop after loop - like me :) because it’s just that interesting. He has books and prints of his photos for sale there. The photos are stunning and iconic. If you’re been fortunate enough to do the Ha Giang Loop, this museum is a must see. It’ll probably help to answer so many questions. And even if you haven’t, it’s so worthwhile, so rich. I believe it’s free to enter ( but please double check before you go!) 1000% recommend!

The most amazing Art Gallery & Museum of Vietnamese Ethnic People & Culture. A must visit if in Hoi An and not to be missed. Photos by one the the world's best Portrait Photographer's - Réhahn, are available to view and photo prints & books are available to purchase. Easy to spend an hour or more here reading the information & looking at photos and traditional costumes of Indigenous Ethnic groups in Vietnam. I must have spent ages here reading each of the background stories and looking at the related photos. Not to be missed if in Hoi An or Danang and surrounding areas!!

I didn't know I needed to visit this place until I did, and now I want everyone to experience it. The Precious Heritage Art Gallery completely drew me in. I promised myself I wouldn't stopped to read every plaque… but ended up reading them all, and admiring everything. It's a deeply enriching and beautiful, curated collection that tells powerful stories through traditional clothing and spectacular photography. An absolute must visit.
Denée H — Google review
beautiful museum, one of the best places during our trip! and meeting the artist himself who was there by chance was also great! recommend when visiting hoi an, you can spend quite a long time there reading about all the ethnic minorities and watching the film that’s constantly running
Eli H — Google review
Absolutely wonderful! The photos, film, the cultures, the story- so magical to see and read. Definitely go and enjoy! Delightful staff with energy for the art gallery…all credit to Rehahn for this great work and there’s more to come…thank you. A must see!

This place is a gem. I seriously recommend it if you're interested in Vietnamese people and their history and culture. I've been in Vietnam for many years, and it really caught my eye. Knowing about the different ethnic groups, along with something unique for each one of them, and following Réhanh work along the way was stunning. Seeing him connect with the people, knowing their history and environment, is inspiring. I'll definitely buy the book when I'll back in Saigon.

Quan Cong Temple, also known as Ong Pagoda, is a 17th-century Chinese pagoda located in the traditional district of Hoi An, Vietnam. This temple is dedicated to General Quan Cong and features intricate statues and artwork. The adjacent pagoda was founded in 1653 and holds great historical and cultural significance.
Built back in 1653, the Quan Cong Temple was made to honor the Chinese general Quan Cong, a famous military figure from the Three Kingdoms period. The temple sits at the corner of Tran Phu and Nguyen Hue streets, and locals usually call it 'the Pagoda of the Man' because it's physically connected to 'the Pagoda of the Lady' right behind it, which is dedicated to Quan Am. The temple was renovated a few times between 1753 and 1827 and had some more restorations in the 20th century. It’s still one of the best examples of Southern Chinese temple architecture in the city. As a bonus, it also has a small museum about Hoi An's history, which is a cool thing to check out.
Do C — Google review
This is a temple dedicated to the great chinese warrior, quan yu well known for his warrior skills and loyalty. He is often found in many homes as a deity to worship. Its a very calming place here away from the crowds. At the back is a lady Buddha statue or guan yin, a deity with the kindest of heart. Plenty of things to see and scrutinise here.
Ken N — Google review
This is one of the many Chinese temples in downtown Hoi An. The place is kept very clean, and you need to either get the Hoi An cultural ticket or offer a donation to enter.
Reza N — Google review
One beautiful temple you can stop by in Hoi An. You can get a ticket for 120kVND and visit 5 sites out of a selection of 22 in the area. It's worth it and gives you a purpose for walking around and it helps maintaining the historical sites.

Probably the most genuinely ancient temple in the city.

Nestled just 3 kilometers west of the enchanting Hoi An Ancient Town, Thanh Hà Terracotta Park is a delightful escape into the world of traditional Vietnamese pottery. Established in 2011 and sprawling over an impressive 6,000 square meters, this park showcases intricate terracotta models that depict iconic buildings and celebrate the rich heritage of pottery craftsmanship from Thanh Hà village.
Here is one of the most unique places to visit while you are in Hoi An. There are two main buildings, one as a museum and the other a coffee shop. There is also a courtyard where to see amazing clay work representing some of the iconic buildings in the world. You can expect to stay here between one to two hours.
Reza N — Google review
The museum has interesting pottery and the pottery miniatures of places from around the world was fun to see. I did not see some of the activities listed on the website, so that was a bit disappointing. A nice place to walk around for a bit and look at beautiful pottery while learning about the different pottery reguons of Vietnam.
Alicia G — Google review
This park is great for anyone curious about local culture, traditional crafts, and Vietnamese art. It’s larger than it looks at first glance, with plenty to explore, including historic pottery tools, old kilns, and creative clay sculptures that blend traditional and modern styles. One standout is a kiln that’s over 500 years old, still showcasing methods used for generations. There’s also a small pottery workshop where you can create your own clay piece for around 40,000 VND. The team there was friendly and explained the steps clearly, making it a fun and relaxed experience. Inside the main building, you’ll find short videos on the region’s ceramic heritage, plus a miniature exhibit of clay models based on famous sites. There’s even a café on-site if you want to unwind after exploring. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area. I even made a small vase, was quite impressed. If you're looking for a cool spot with unique architecture and fun stuff to do in Hoi An, you have to check out Thanh Ha Terracotta Park! It's almost 6,000 square meters and has a really creative design inspired by traditional kilns. Once you're there, you can not only see a bunch of miniature world wonders made of clay, but you can also try making your own pottery. It's an awesome place to get into pottery and have some seriously memorable experiences.

This was a very pretty museum, we had a lovely time visiting! We also had a coffee and the Vietnamese Milk Coffee I ordered was amazing, I was so surprised at how much I liked it. Also, big thank you to the staff who were very nice and helpful to me after I fell over and scraped my knee 💕 they were very nice about looking after our bags while Mum ran to help me and by bringing us stuff to clean my knee 💕

Had a great hour or so wandering around the Thanh Hà Terracotta Park. Be aware, you must pay for entrance to the Pottery Village before staff will even let you get near the Park. It was quiet and peaceful when I visited despite being the middle of the day.

Thuan Tinh Island offers a unique cooking class experience in Vietnam. The day begins with a visit to a local market in downtown Hoi An, followed by a boat ride to the island's organic vegetable village to gather fresh ingredients. Visitors then embark on a rowing boat journey through coconut groves before arriving at the cooking school. Participants praise the knowledgeable and entertaining instructors, as well as the opportunity to learn about Vietnamese ingredients and market culture.
We had such an amazing time with Nhi learning how to cook traditional Vietnamese cuisine. From the market tour, the boat ride and the actual cooking, the day was perfect. Nhi was a great guide with a wonderful personality and beautiful story. Couldn’t recommend this experience more.
Kelly O — Google review
A really fantastic experience! Such a wonderful family, funny, cheeky, fantastic English. Really enjoyed the market visit and of course the food! Delicious! Ride in the coconut boats was not really for us (not sure why Gangnam style needs to be blasted at that volume!) but understand the boats are a ‘must do thing’ in Hoi an so it ticked it off the list at least. That being said I would highly recommend this class, for beginners or those who cook regularly. We learnt a lot and we are self professed good cooks! Thank you Nhi and family!!
Stuart L — Google review
We loved this tour, one of the best things we’ve done in Vietnam! Nhi was incredible and really made the who thing. So after collection from our hotel we met Nhi at the market where we bought all of our ingredients fresh for the cooking. We then had our driver take us to some boats for a short detour which was fun. The cooking class itself was really good especially as it was only the 2 of us plus Nhi. We made pancakes , chicken noodle soup , fresh spring rolls and a beef noodle salad. All amazing! Cannot recommend enough .

I wish I could give Nhi 10 stars. We had such a great day on her tour, Nhi really is the star of the show and supported by her husband and cute daughter. We enjoyed every bit of the day, from the market to the coconut boats to her delicious food that we made. Nhi was so funny, friendly and a great teacher. We wish her and her family all the best in the future! Aimee & Thomas

We had a great time and learned so much. Our guide and teacher Ni was excellent and made the experience fun. We especially enjoyed the morning market experience. Our creations were some of the freshest and tastiest food of our trip. The 30 min basket boat experience through a palm marsh was un-needed, kinda of silly but allowed our teacher time to prep our freshly purchased market food for the class. The large covered but open kitchen space was ideal for our class.
David H — Google review
We absolutely loved our morning with Nhi. The trip to the market was very interesting and then the cooking class was informative and very delicious. Thank you Nhi and family!!
Dan F — Google review
Taste explosion today! Everything we wanted to find: more advanced knowledge gained during the market tour learning the names of unknown veg, workshop in the countryside, river ride on small boats, Recipes written in a cute handout booklet to take home. Hon was our guide and cooking teacher and he was great. He tailored the lesson so that each has challenge and children has a lot of help. I definitely feel confident to cook the four dishes at home 💪 You must go!
Camille B — Google review
Awesome cooking class! We were picked up from our hotel in the morning and the whole tour took up to about 5 hours in total. Trang, our friendly guide, did an amazing job as a Tour Guide as she explained every single thing that we were doing throughout the day. Also knowledgeable and was able to share more information and answer our questions. Tour started with a trip to the market to get fresh ingredients. For those who don't eat meat / pork etc, this is the time you could inform the guide of your dietary requirements. Like us, Trang had substituted pork at no cost as we don't eat pork. We then head to Than Tinh Village via boat. There, Trang transformed into her Chef uniform and started the cooking class. She was a really great teacher; explained everything clearly, step by step for all 4 dishes! Overall summary of itinerary for the cooking class: 8.30am: Pickup from hotel, headed to market to get fresh ingredients 9.20am: took a boat to Than Tinh Village 10.00am: arrived at the "mini jetty", changed to a smaller boat 10.05am: setup, introduction + cooking class begins! 12.30pm: demonstration of 3rd dish 2.00pm: we were done with cooking our 4th and final dish and started indulging! :) 2.30pm: safe and sound at the hotel Would really recommend this cooking class if you're in Hoi An! It's conducted in a small group, knowledgeable and friendly tour guide (Trang) who speaks good English, you get to learn to cook 4 Vietnamese dishes at a reasonable price. All in all it was a really good experience! P.s you will be cooking at eating the dish you prepared /cooked after every dish so to truly enjoy the whole experience of cooking and eating at the same time please remember to participate in the cooking class with a not so full stomach (unless if you have quite a huge stomach) or else you'll be too full to eat your own cooking. ;)

Vietnamese restaurant
Cơm Gà Bà Buội is a renowned family-owned eatery in Hoi An, serving authentic chicken rice since the 1950s. For VND 35,000, patrons can savor a bowl of clear soup alongside fragrant rice topped with generous portions of shredded village chicken, fresh herbs, black pepper, and chili jam. The restaurant's bright yellow exterior makes it easily recognizable and it's just a short walk from the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge.
There are many chicken rice places in Hoi An. But this one is the best one in the city. The soup is light and savory, sugarcane juice is delicious, the chicken rice is great!! Highly recommend!
Food 8 — Google review
Overall taste good! Chicken is local chicken which the meat is firm! We like it. Just order the set and enough for two persons.
LimKoppi — Google review
Although this was a famous restaurant known for their chicken rice, I was a little disappointed at how plain everything was. The locals recommended us to try, but I guess not everything would be as good as I thought. It was more of an experience. The rustic chairs, the old tables, and the view, somewhat nostalgic, but of course I would always go for the food and the quality of it. Maybe it wasn’t as good to me. One of my other pet peeves was the chopsticks were placed in the holder upside down, so make sure you really wipe down the chopsticks well ( who knows what’s at the bottom of that little holder). Other than that, the food was ok. Nothing impressive to say the least.
Tee W — Google review
The so call famous Vietnam Hoi An chicken rice, perhaps, the taste not suitable to me and I think the chicken rice not much delicious. The chicken meat tasted like overcooked. Overall, not having good food experience in this stall but could be well praised by the local.
LOO J — Google review
After reading the conflicting reviews, I decided to dine at this place for my own opinions. I didn’t appreciate the food. I really don’t think that it deserves the hype.Disappointing. Food was not good and expensive for what you get. The chicken was mainly bones and very hard to chew and the portion was small and paid 200k. Definitely would not recommend.
Prakash N — Google review
At lunch time, We visited the famous local spot, Cơm Gà Bà Buội, for lunch in the afternoon. The rice was really good and the food overall was delicious. However, I should mention, this place is always crowded! If you’re not comfortable eating in a busy, noisy environment where people might glance at you (especially as a foreigner out of curiosity), then maybe it’s not for you. But for me, it was worth it. The atmosphere felt very local, the food was authentic, and I enjoyed the experience despite the crowd. Sometimes good food comes with a little chaos!
Marcus — Google review
The food here is overrated. It can’t hold a candle to the Singapore Chicken Rice. Ordered the simple plate for 1 person. The rice was not that fragrant, the tumeric yellow color was interesting. There were a few small pieces of chicken liver, chicken shred which was so dry and tasteless. There was free carrots shred, a bowl of soup and some green vegetables. I enjoyed the coconut water as the weather was so hot outside. The best about this place is not the food but the AIR-Con.
Su Y — Google review
Simple chicken dishes, minimal processed food, high quality ingredients. If you prefer firm meat chicken, you will like it here, it’s local vietnamese chicken, the meat is quite firm fiy

The Tin Basket Boat Tour in Hoi An offers a unique experience of the city's waterways, showcasing traditional boats that have been a part of local livelihood for generations. Despite its name, the boats are not made of tin but are an iconic feature of the estuary location. Visitors can enjoy a cooling and soothing boat trip while taking in the sights along the river. The tour is highly recommended for its friendly guides, personal experiences, and reasonable prices that often include entrance fees.
We really liked the boat tour with Tin and his team. Good service which included water bottles and a coconut. They took time to show us the coconut forest. We are very thankful of amazing experience! Really recommend!

Amazing place and service, the boat rider was also very friendly and funny. The tour was about 35 min, we passed a river avenue of palm trees and even had the chance to do crap fishing (managed to catch 2, which were of course released back to the river). Overall 5 star experience. 100.000/person + 30.000 service fees/person.

Best basket boat tour - more interesting route and beautiful hosts rowing. Best pricing also. Do not believe the people that try and grab you before you arrive. Look for the actual sign.

Today we were on a walk in the coconut village of Hoi An and turned to Tin basket boat tour, they have the best prices for a tour! The walk on the water was about 45 minutes, we watched a show of dancing baskets and after the walk, the owner treated us to a fresh coconut, it was so cute 👍

The boat ride was nice, the view was good and peaceful. We also went crab fishing (No crabs were harmed)
James “ — Google review
There are many operators but Tin is the original and the best….many others charge up to $600k VND but Tin is only $130k VND and no pressure to tip. Includes water and a coconut, and the staff took us crab fishing too. They also go deep into the narrow canals where it’s peaceful and calm instead of the huge groups with blasting music. Thank you Tin!
Thomas B — Google review
Even though it’s a very touristy thing to do, we didn’t want to miss out on the fun of sitting in such a nutshell. It cost 130,000 VND per person, which is a very reasonable price for 45 minutes of entertainment. You ride through the iconic palms and see a lot of other boats, which is also kind of funny to watch. Our driver also took additional photos, without asking for money (we gave some tip at the end). At the end of the tour, we tried our hand at crab fishing for about 5-10 minutes and then released the animals back into the wild. All in all, it was better than expected and a fun tour.
