Every time I return, I discover new exhibits, fresh perspectives, and interactive experiences that make the hours fly by far too quickly. It’s one of those places where time is never enough, no matter how well you plan your visit. What stands out more and more is the museum’s strong focus on sustainability. The exhibits thoughtfully highlight how mobility is evolving and how Switzerland is leading the way in creating cleaner, smarter, and more responsible transport solutions. The hands-on displays make complex concepts easy to understand, offering an inspiring look at what the future of travel could and should be. It feels less like a museum and more like a living learning space where innovation and awareness meet. It’s also a wonderful place for families. There’s an impressive amount of interactive stations for kids—simulators, puzzles, experiments, and activities that keep them engaged while they learn. It’s truly designed for all ages. And of course, the beautiful Hans Erni Museum inside remains a highlight. His art brings elegance and depth to the experience, adding a cultural dimension that makes every visit complete. Highly recommended—every visit feels new.

Great facilities to visit and explore the world of transportation in Switzerland: trains, boats, cars, planes and rockets. Fabulous option for children and adults. For quiet visits, avoid the weekends or the school vacation periods. I highly recommend the building devoted to boats, as it is highly maintained. However, we recently found out staff is sometimes not present on exhibitions and it is difficult to get support or assistance in all areas of the museum.

Wonderful place..so much to see! The museum is huge with indoor and outdoor areas! I loved the section on space travel but it's not very large in comparison some of the other parts. Being able to walk into an old plane was fun and a cube you could enter to feel the effects on gravity as it rotates. The Planetarium was a highlight with several shows a day but you have to pay for these separately as they are not included in the entrance to the museum..I paid for one 45 min show and it was worth it just to see the stars and planets on such a large screen above you..you really felt like you were travelling in space..but I guess it also depends on the show you choose and could get expensive if you want to see several shows there.

This is one of my all time favorite museums in the world. It has amazing simulators of aircrafts/helicopters, f1 cars and even a crash test for awareness. I enjoyed every bit of it.

We had a wonderful experience visiting the Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke) in Lucerne. It was a beautiful evening, and the entire setting felt almost magical. The iconic wooden bridge, with its charming roof and historic paintings, reflected perfectly in the calm waters of the Reuss River—making it one of the most picturesque spots we’ve seen in Switzerland. What made the experience even more special was the atmosphere around the bridge. As we walked through, the gentle lighting and the flower decorations along the bridge added to the charm. Right nearby, the Old Town was buzzing with life. The streets were lively with cafés, restaurants, and little shops, making it a joy to stroll through. The blend of history, culture, and energy gave the whole area a very warm and welcoming vibe. Walking across the bridge and then meandering through the cobblestone streets of Old Town felt like stepping into a postcard. The combination of medieval architecture, colorful buildings, and the vibrant evening atmosphere made the entire experience unforgettable. If you are in Lucerne, visiting Chapel Bridge is absolutely a must-do, especially in the evening when the city lights and reflections on the river create such a breathtaking scene. Chapel Bridge lives up to the hype being the most iconic outdoor attraction in Lucerne. Pictures of the bridge from the river shore streets are more scenic than photos taken from the bridge itself. Given that fire of 1993 destroyed at least two thirds of the bridge, don’t expect too much from exposed paintings. Fortunately, Water Tower was spared and bridge was rebuilt and reopened in 8 months carefully reconstructed to preserve historic details.

As a tourist attraction, the Lion Monument is relatively small in scale, yet it draws a large number of visitors. A truly impressive monument, much bigger than I expected and really beautiful. The Lion of Lucerne is carved directly into the rock to honor the Swiss Guards who died during the French Revolution. The expression of the lion is incredibly realistic and moving. The surrounding park and pond make it a peaceful place to stop and reflect. Definitely worth a visit!

Beautiful historical landmark. Worthwhile understanding the history either by guided tour or by reading up in the internet to appreciate it more. The outer 'pig' sculpture is interesting by the unhappy master stone maison who was denied the extra payment he requested.

Visited the Lion Monument in Luzern and it really hits different when you see it in person. It’s quiet, calm, and has this emotional, respectful atmosphere to it. The carving is huge and so detailed, and the whole place feels very peaceful. It’s not something you rush through. You just kind of stand there for a bit and take it in. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in Luzern

Lion monument was made to honour mercenary soldiers of Switzerland who died during the French revolution. The monument is stunning with huge lion sculpture in a rock with high level detailing. The surroundings are very beautiful and this is an ideal place for photoshop. Don't miss out to see the reflection of lion monument in the small lake below it. This is a must visit place in Lucerne and an important part of Swiss history.

A beautiful carving in a cliff that has a very important dedication to fallen soldiers. It’s free to the public and an easy walk from the old town.

Very cool! There’s a lot to see and do, from museum to interactive journey through a big rock to an amazing little mirror maze! Something enjoyable for everyone, definitely! I would recommend choosing s day with good weather, you might be able to see the mountains from the tower they have!

Nice walk from the station (10 minutes). Intesting description of the geology of the area. It is outdoors but the mail area is covered. The labyrinth which is a mirror maze was the most popular part with the children. As there is only one entrance and exit safer to let them wonder. The room with information on chalets was interesting and kids enjoyed making and drawing chalets. The walk underground is just lit enough to keep it safe but dark enough to add sone mystery and make the light shows more effective. There is a cafe on the site with prices typical for the area. We are a impatient family and spent around 2 hours without a visit to the cafe.

My visit to the Gletschergarten Luzern was interesting, but it wasn’t quite what I expected, which is why I’m giving it four stars. The place definitely has charm, and there are several unique features worth seeing, but I found myself wishing there was a bit more historical context throughout the experience. Some areas felt like they could have used deeper explanations or clearer storytelling to help visitors truly understand the significance of what they were seeing. Adding more detailed history would make the visit much more enriching. That said, there were parts I genuinely enjoyed. The visual effects were impressive, and the added music created a magical, almost atmospheric mood that made the experience more immersive. It added a nice emotional layer that I wasn’t anticipating. The mirror labyrinth was also a highlight—fun, surprising, and definitely worth doing. However, we almost missed it because the layout isn’t the easiest to follow. Numbering the attractions or providing a clearer route would make the visit smoother and help ensure nothing gets overlooked. Overall, Gletschergarten is an enjoyable spot with interesting elements, but with a few improvements, it could be even better. Still, I’m glad I visited and would recommend it with the right expectations.

It is more than expected. Cave is big experience. Specially Cosmo Phone which repeats your voice in its own special voice in just few seconds. This cave let you walk to go to top with good sight seeing from where you can come via lift also. There is Wc and drinks etc shop is also inside. Mirror maze is also very good. Ticket is 22 Chf and free with Swiss pass. It is closed in evening so be careful to be in time. Film show every 20 minutes is must watch for authentic information. It is adjacent to Lion Monument.

Nice place to visit. Be sure to bring your visitor/tourist discount card from the hotel to get a discount on admission. There is a really cool tree house in here that you must climb up to get the awesome view of the city.

Nice place to understand glacier history and formation in Switzerland. The caves are fascinating with many practical models to understand glacier formation and movement. There is also an exciting mirror maze which is total fun for adults and kids. It also has a watch tower which you can climb and see a panoramic view of Lucerne city. Entry to Glacier Garden is free with Swiss Travel Pass.

Amazing museum! There is so much offered here. I went with my grandma and we both had a great time! Seeing inside of the house was super informative. The mirror maze/labyrinth was probably our favorite part! The views were also stunning!

I'm a history girl and I really loved getting some insight into a topic I knew nothing about before. Nice setup and very well made, definitely worth checking out! I was completely alone up in the big panorama, it made the atmosphere feel even heavier!

The building has coffee, shops, movies theatre, but is especially well known for the historical panorama on the upper floor. Very popular at the end of the 19th century, it is often described as the ancestor of the movies theatre. Definitely worth the visit. Make sure to read excellent display to understand the overall context.

Expensive, but they really try to milk the history and cultural significance of this painting and battle. The small museum in the level before the painting is well-designed, and has additional articles in QR codes.

A super unique experience that has some art and some history. You take a journey up to the first floor, where you watch a short documentary recounting the reason why the panorama was created and how they built it. Upstairs is an immersive experience of the actual panorama. I would allow for about 20 minutes for the entire experience. Get the Lucerne Museum, Swiss Pass that complements nicely with the Picasso Museum in the Swiss transportation museum, unless you want to pay Fr.12 per person. There’s a café at the bottom, but it’s quite expensive, five francs for a water.

Fantastic work of art encompassing human solidarity and care for others. If you come to Luzern you must see this. Really makes you think of the consequences of war from a different angle - the defeated army. The mixture of the panoramic painting, real 3D additions and other exhibits are amazing in their effect. Looking after this resource and making it available to different generations is such an important labour. Also my thanks in particular to Nadia at reception, such a welcoming and kind person, the ideal guardian and guide for such an important work. The building also houses a lot more services for the community and visitors such as a cafe and cinema.

Very informative, very well organized museum! Easy to reach by public transport (buses 6, 7 from the main train station) and then pretty walk 9 minutes. Great view of the lake. During our visit was a performance there of Wagner music.

Wonderful audio tour. Beautiful views and a very relaxing atmosphere. Only downside, it’s a little bit of a walk from the bus stop. Definitely worth the trip. No line and free entry the Swiss Rail Pass.

45 minutes sufficient to see this museum which was home to Richard Wagner, unless one stars listening to his music, for which facility exists. Serene atmosphere with a garden nearby. Visitors may note that there are 2 sign boards near the lane from main road pointing to Wagner Museum. One looks misleading, pointing to a different direction. If I am right Museum may align correctly the signboards

The Richard Wagner Museum in Lucerne can be reached from the main train station with several bus lines. From the bus stop it is a 10-minute walk to Wagner's house. You will be greeted in a friendly manner and your attention will be drawn to the audio guide. The museum itself consists of the ground floor and the first where you can see all the renovation work

We had a private tour of the Richard Wagner Museum in Lucerne, which was very personal and engaging. The only minor drawback was the absence of music, which would have enhanced the atmosphere even more.

This is just one of the towers along the old city walls. Highly enjoyable and I loved going up all the towers even though there wasn’t much inside them. At the top of them you get some amazing views. It’s free too!

A must walk on the historical defense walls surrounding the old town. Possibility to visit several towers along the way. Display of ancient clocks system and machines. Great view.

Great view of the city! We only ended up climbing two towers but the view was amazing and the air was crisp and it was a very cool historical landmark. On the way up to the wall there were a couple of cows on the hill.

If you want a bird view to the entire town, climb up to the tower! It’s beautiful from up there. But mid you, the stairs up there can be quite steep so be prepared for that. There’s a quiet area at the back where you can relax and read a book. There’s a cute cat in the complex. See if you can spot him.

A must-do historical visit in Lucerne! Plan to spend around 2 hours if you want to climb multiple towers and walk along the ramparts. Each tower is different, so be prepared for lots of stairs!

From the lower parts of the town of Lucerne, I saw the high walls which intrigued me. We ventured up there and started to climb the many steps towards the top of the watchtower and Clocktower. This gives you one of the most pictures views of the town. There are a lot of steps, so it’s not for the faint of heart or people who might struggle with climbing.

Great free activity / visit. You can go up inside the fortress towers. A bit dusty inside but a unique experience if you can manage steep uneven stairs.

One of the nicest concert halls in switzerland. Good acustics everywhere not just on the expensive seats. You have to be early to buy tickets.

One of the best concert hall acoustics for orchestras I've heard, in a beautiful setting at the lakeside in Lucerne. We came for the classical music festival and heard several concerts showcasing the world's top orchestras, conductors and solo musicians. Not a cheap hobby but a wonderful, once in a lifetime experience. Seat accessibility was not a strong point, but I suppose one must blame the French architect! The acoustic designer was from the US...

Very large event/concert center right next to the main train station and on the water. Wonderful views, easy to get to, and many things happening there on a regular basis (music, shows, etc.)

The Lucerne Culture and Congress Centre (KKL) is an architectural masterpiece! 🏛️ The modern design by Jean Nouvel is stunning, and its location right by Lake Lucerne makes it even more special. The concert hall has world-class acoustics—perfect for music lovers and events. The views from the terrace are incredible, especially at sunset. A must-visit landmark in Lucerne

This is a great concert hall. Great acoustics. Seating is well laid out and allows for great views. Very nice.

Top notch venue. Saw the Pepe Lienhard Big Band, with numerous guest vocalists. Great acoustics, good seating all around. If you attend an event here, be sure to enjoy the views from the outdoor balcony on the top floor.

Worth the stop off at the Lion monument. Popular spot with lots of locals and tourists. The food looked good...the dish of the day was American hotdogs. There was even a Mario Cart tournament. I would recommend.

Stopped by Alpineum for a brief respite from an afternoon of shopping in Old Town Lucerne. Way cool little place, inside and out! We sat outside because a front had passed through the area and the cool breeze was great! Service was good. Nice craft cocktail list. We had a unique Negroni blend, very good! Large water to rehydrate from the walk. All good…! Very nice place to stop!

A very beautiful cafe near the Lion Monument and the Glacier Garden of Lucerne (Gletschergarten Luzern). I had coffee and a pastry. There are seats both indoors and outdoors, jazz music was playing in the background.

We had a lovely lunch here one afternoon on our trip to Lucerne. We walked down to see the lion monument and this place is so close that if you sit outside you can see it from your table which was lovely. The day we went they had a vegan menu on. I often eat vegan but my husband doesn't, and he was very pleasantly surprised. The salad we had was amazing, so many colours and flavours. We were very impressed.

Fantastic cocktails! Super nice staff. We had the cocktails "Sama Mate" & "Sama Sour". My friend loved the sour version. Really good if you like sour... i had the mate. One of the best cocktails i ever had. The ginger punch is really good as well.

Easy 5 star review. Fantastic food, drinks, and service. I had the eggs benedict and the hot ginger punch. Bill was €40 (wow!) but the food was some of the best I've had anywhere. The only item available for lunch was the benedict, but that's what I would have ordered anyway. The menu changes every few hours, and also by day.

I was privileged to join a 3D embroidery workshop. If it is available again I would highly recommend it to anyone who was crafty. The lovely ladies taking it made a huge effort to include me as an English-only speaker. Fantastic fun. Inspirational.

I shopped at this Coop supermarket during my visit to Lucerne in July 2025. It has everything a visitor will need. It is located inside the main railway station which is convenient to pickup groceries after returning from site seeing and heading to your hotel/apartment.

Coop Supermarket in Luzern is a reliable and well-organised store that stands out for its wide variety of fresh foods. The fruit and vegetable section is consistently well stocked, with produce that looks fresh and inviting. Their bakery and deli counters offer a good selection of ready-to-eat meals, cheeses, and meats, making it convenient.

It's a good place to find reasonably priced food when you get off the train. It has all the regular items plus a selection of ready to eat food.

They have exactly what I needed to make. What I want, I'm gluten and dairy free, thank you for making my life easier and helping my meals amazing!

This is by far the worst Coop store I’ve visited in Switzerland. The checkout area is completely disorganized and poorly managed. Even worse, while restocking shelves, the staff physically push customers aside — this kind of contact is not only unacceptable but feels downright intrusive and disturbing. It borders on harassment, and it’s absolutely disgusting!

Located in a very easily accessible area, this place has everything. Also a point to note is the live cooking station. I had some delicious food for take away.

If you had ever enjoyed playing video games at any point in your life, highly recommend visiting this interactive museum. Since they limit each slot to 50 people for 2 hours for optimal experience, definitely book your tickets online before going. We came with our 2 kids and all of us had a blast! We love that all games did not require any coins to play - basically all you can play for 2 hours! Make sure to survey the 1st and 2nd floors before you get too entranced on a particular game. This place brought back so many wonderful memories and it was so amazing to experience older and newer games! They also have an area for you to try out board games too.

Fantastic museum and Board game cafe! Museum has a huge range of Pinball machines, Arcade machines, old and newer consoles and interesting artifacts. Board game cafe looks well stocked with mainly German language games and themed drinks and food.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. I was very pleasantly surprised. Incredible collection of games. Some of which were quite old. It was both fun and informative. My girlfriend begrudingly came along to humor me and I lost her at one point just to find her later playing mario bros on an 8-bit NES. Definitely worth a visit if youre even a little curious.

Like a dream for old gamer. Went on Sat with 2 kids 16 and 8 and a colleague in his 40s everyone had a blast. They also sell very decent red wine. I feel a risk i might become a regular.

Absolutely amazing customer care ( big big big shoutout to Mia who was so patient and kind while helping us and answering our questions) and phenomenal interiors on the store. We got a box of 8 ( pick and choose) some of them being the Arhuaco, Elvesia, Baumnuss Marzipan, Feige etc. Amazing in taste and something that you definitely want to indulge in time and again. Grabbed a hot chocolate as well on the way out and it was amazinnggggg!! Don’t be shy and give them a try!!

I am a tour guide and I had a very last-minute request for a chocolate tasting for a small group of travellers visiting Luzern on a busy Saturday. Max Chocolaterie offered us a great, small but insightful, journey into their story of chocolate-making and we sampled few delicious chocolates at their store in Luzern! Paolo and Mia accommodated my request with great flexibility and understanding and they were very helpful and accommodating! I will definitely go back to Max Chocolaterie as they also make great coffee and delivious hot chocolate to take away!!

Excellent experience at this store. The staff were friendly and the chocolate was fantastic. We got there after the drink window closed for the day so we went back the following day for more chocolate and drinks (hot chocolate and iced matcha latte). Everything was so rich and tasty, some of the best chocolate I’ve had! Plus the store has a great origin story. Highly recommend.

The quality of the chocolate is excellent, so if that’s what you’re wondering then no issues there. Our problem is specific to the Tasting Experience which is sold for $300 francs for 2 people, or roughly $360 dollars. This is the definition of a tourist trap. It is massively overpriced for what you receive. And this is coming from someone who has traveled the world staying at 5 star places and flying business class. I spend money on experiences regularly and this is one of the few times I’ve felt truly ripped off. You sit in a room within the main store, try 7 pieces of chocolate, and hear about how they started the company and how chocolate is made for roughly 30-40 minutes. It’s $50 worth of chocolate and $50 of employee time, yet you’re charged $300 for it. I was expecting each of us to be offered commemorative gifts and large boxes of chocolate for that price. Something, anything, to justify that up charge. It’s such a shame too, because if I’m the business owner I would be thinking of what I’m trying to achieve when someone shows enough interest in chocolate and my shop to want to do a tasting. It’s an opportunity to create a raving fan of your business who refers others, but you only do that by providing such an amazing experience and value that you earn it. Instead, this felt like an opportunity was taken to extract money from tourists and provide the least amount of value in return. A shame, because the lady giving the history lesson was charming and the chocolate is good, but there is no thought given to what is provided for the price.

Best specialty coffee in the area. Their V60 is excellent — smooth, balanced, and well-prepared every time.

I love chocolate but I wasn’t impressed with the chocolate I had here. I think they use very high quality ingredients and the shop and layout is definitely very nice and fancy but I think either you need to have a very good chocolate tasting palate to enjoy this chocolate or maybe it’s truly just not as good as the price suggests it would be. For 8 small chocolates (pictures attached) I think I paid an insane 25 or 30 Franks. I only enjoyed two of the chocolates that had caramel inside and some fig jam? On my trip I also bought milk, dark and hazelnut chocolate bars from Migros which I thought were much more fairly priced and tastes much better. Maybe it’s just my preference or taste is not as refined but I was not impressed and could not justify spending this much money on these chocolates. If you are not a chocolate connoisseur probably don’t get your chocolate from here.

I know where Not to buy records. Everything is highly overpriced. They sell twice or more expensive than most of the record stores. Even the "used" records, doesn't go below 9 fr, and they have really common things that I saw many times in used stores for 1 or 2 francs. I just wonder which kind of clients they have. For sure people who doesn't know about music market at all. In the center of Luzern I have buyed on a few stores over twenty records in mint condition with prices from 0.50cnts to 4 fr. So, it's really ridiculous to see similar used records that overpriced.

Fantastic vinyl stop while traveling in Switzerland. We are avid collectors and always seek out vinyl when traveling. Old Town did not disappoint! Great selection of used and new records...we will be back!

Old Town Record Store is a really great shop with an excellent selection of vinyl. However, Adi’s customer service is absolutely first class. I purchased a couple records while traveling around the country for my children’s school holiday. When I returned home, I discovered that one of the records was damaged. I contacted Adi, who immediately offered to exchange the record or allow me to choose another record next time I came in. I explained that I lived in Geneva so he offered to send a new copy by post free of charge. It arrived yesterday. I wish I could give six stars because my experience with Adi and Old Town Record Store was incredible.

What a great find this store is on the busy streets of Lucerne! Stopped in Old Town Record Store while passing through Lucerne. Great variety of records and CDs in many different styles. Found some nice LPs to add to my collection. Will definitely stop in again next time I’m in Lucerne.

Beautiful location right on the river, but the experience was mixed. The cheese fondue was delicious, and for four people I’d recommend ordering two fondues instead of four. Unfortunately, the service was poor and the Swiss raclette was disappointing — just a lot of cheese with hardly any sides. Overall, not worth the hype, but still nice for the fondue.

After spending time walking around Lucerne, we crossed the bridge and found this sweet restaurant on the other side. We were lured in by the pretty little lights and the smell of cheese fondue. We sat at the bar inside the restaurant on little seats covered with fur that faced the beautiful view. Three of us shared a pot of cheese fondue and it was just enough to leave us all stuffed. We got free refills on our bread and potatoes and our kind waiter Christoph brought us lots of pickles too. He was so joyful and really made our experience so special. As the night got colder, he brought us each over little hand warmer sacs to heat us up. Overall a wonderful experience, delicious with a beautiful view, and excellent staff and service.

We made a reservation for this place for 6:30pm so that we could try the special Lucerne vol-ai-vent which was basically a pot pie filled with meat and vegetables. We also had the famous Swiss veal and mushroom sauce with rosti. Everything was so good! They also provided fresh homemade bread that you can go cut up yourself. We sat outside under the awning with a good view of the river. I would highly recommend this place if you’re visiting Lucerne for a quick day trip. It was incredibly good.

Pretty good place to eat. We are American and ate here a few weeks ago when we were in Switzerland. Our waiter was super nice (Norman? Can’t remember his name) and helped us pick a good wine and advised us on the Fondue. Pretty place to eat outside in the summer along the lake/river!

This place has the setting nailed — a beautiful historic guild-hall right by the river, great terrace for sitting and watching the water go by. The food was good: traditional Swiss dishes with solid flavour. However, it felt slightly overpriced for the portion sizes and some dishes lacked wow-factor. So if you go, maybe pick a simple dish, enjoy the view, and treat it more as an experience than a bargain.

We sat by the water. Great customer service. Food was quick and excellent. Definitely try their local coke soda, very good. Don’t hesitate to eat here. Very good food.

The food is ok in combination with the view. I was expecting a lot more for the Fondue but I all I can say is a good one and at least we’ve tried it. The veal with mushroom seems overcooked. The service is great and it can be busy at times.

Lovely ace for cake, ice creams and cold drinks on a hot day. Table Service with seating inside and out. There is a counter inside where you can also buy various cakes and tarts. A star was taken away for very small portion size of their Cheese and Ham Toastie.

Please train your staff not to grab customers' bank cards and process them without permission - even if they do it right next to you. This is completely unacceptable. The ice cream itself was good and the cold chocolate was decent and rich. There was some confusion with our order - we got two raspberry scoops instead of raspberry and caramel, but that was probably a translation issue on our end. The cafe is large with plenty of space inside and they sell their own products. Would recommend getting takeout rather than dining in.

Nice place to get a bite. The restaurants are expensive here. Be prepared to pay $5.60 Swiss for a bottle of water. The Lorraine Quiche was good and so was the Luzerner Chugelipastetli. Meal for two was $50 without desert.

They have such a huge selection of hot and cold food as well as drinks. Price wise its very decent also as well. No wonder there seems to be alot of locals here.

A small bakery/coffee shop. Honestly, coffee in Switzerland just doesn’t hit the spot for me 🥲 (not trying to hate, just facts). I grabbed a croissant to go though, and the bread was actually pretty good.

The food was great ! The waiter was friendly and gave me a free box and bag to takeaway my leftovers. The carbonara pasta and the pizza had a big portion ! Worth the try It's a little pricey but I think its acceptable cuz of it's brand They had a huge variety of ice cream choices which were not available in my origin.

I tried beef tarta, veggies tarta, salmon tarta for the very first time and I love it. Should give it a try new food, Customer Service is friendly and nice. The restaurant in Lucerne is spacious and right at the city center, closed to Lucerne Train Station.

Very centrally located, food is extremely good, service is fast and friendly, and it's a pleasant place to just pop in, have a drink or two with some tapas, or even a coffee. It's one of my favourite hubs that I like frequenting.

This is a classic restaurant in Luzern, well known for its delicious ice cream! They also have excellent food and snacks. In good weather, you can sit outside and watch the passersby, enjoying the sights and sounds of beautiful Luzern. It's not in the old city area, but still a great location with lots of shade under the giant umbrellas. So lovely.

Really great place, the staff is patient and helpful. The food is great and yummy selection of wine is incredible. They follow Covid guidelines strictly with table arrangements, maximum seating as well as staff taking needed precautions with mask and face shields. I will come back for another meal next time I'm in Luzern.... And Prices are normal Swiss prices

Average experience at best. Whilst location is very good, and food ok, place was rather dirty (breadcrumbs allover floor and tables) and service was particularly bad. Ordered some sandwiches and caffee + kuchen. After having asked for menus and ended up picking them up myself, took an eternity to order, and at the end took an eternity to pay. Felt like we disturbed our waitress, so rather awkward...after ordering though, the food delivery was rather fast, and done by the cook himself... Mixed feelings about the place... Could be good, but unfortunately it's just average. Would look for something else while in the area...

My wife and daughters loved their food. It was a shame because my son and I ate earlier and only had french fries. The food and service was amazing and the restaurant has a great view of the Swiss Alps. The waitress was very hospitable.

absolute perfection. what a stellar lunch experience we enjoyed at this completely refreshing surprise! give me its location. you would expect this to be as tourist trap as they come but not so go upstairs and eat in the dining room or out on the terrace you're in for a wonderful experience. absolutely perfectly prepared dishes. some of the best calamari I've ever had. lovely service in this historic setting. and best of all, the price is a bargain for Swiss dining in much less a picturesque location.

On a day trip to Lucerne, we stopped by Restaurant Schwanen/Cafe De Ville for a coffee and pastry. The restaurant is second floor upstairs, the cafe is in the square outside the front door. Beautiful city, beautiful weather. Outside was crowded so we opted for the restaurant. Gorgeous inside, old school European hotel flair. Great views from windows on the second floor! The coffees and pastry (chocolate croissant) were good. Service was a bit hurried, likely because we were having coffee not eating lunch. Still, a nice experience. We’d go back!

A really nice spot for lunch in Luzern. We had some delicious meals here. Well sone and Danke. The colorful salad with terriyaki chicken was excellent!

It’s easy to miss this amazing spot as it’s on the first floor. Super spacious restaurant with an outdoor space which is perfect for sunset. I tried their avocado sandwich, fruit bowl and latte. Server was super nice.

The place was very crowded when I arrived. I had to wait 15 minutes . The breakfast was ok, but the wiew is really greate. From Fenster you can See the Luzern Lake.

Between the Reussbrucke and Spreuerburcke, there is a bit of tourist traffic nearby but nowhere near as heavily travelled as the Chapel, Rathaussteg and Seebrucke. The dam is interesting in that it is not your standard wall-across-the-water dam, but it has some angels to it.

Quintessential Lucerne outdoor attraction on par with Chapel Bridge, needle dam on Reuss River is a wooden structure designed to regulate water level of Lake Lucerne by manually adjusting wooden planks. Probably one of the few operational needle dams in the world. There is some magic in the flowing water that draws so many visitors to the place.

Pretty amazing how blue the water is. Quite a touristy area though, so expect crowds along the narrow walkways. Worth some photos but not the most comfortable place to hang out for long periods.

Visiting the Nadelwehr (Needle Dam) in Lucerne was an enjoyable experience. The flowing water and river views create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It’s a simple yet historic spot that reflects part of the city’s heritage and is worth a short stop while exploring Lucerne.

Amazing place. The natural feel and the . movement of the river is simply astounding. You can spend hours staring at the river and you won't get bored.

We decided to visit the museum because of the exhibition of Malgorzata, it was nice but not very impressive due to the size of the space. However, the set up of the experience (drawing) room was quite nice and fit to the concept of exhibition. Not so much child friendly. The lady from the reception was quite friendly, however, the whole experience with a young kid inside the museum was not too pleasant! The staff was interrupting the whole time, even though our little one was carrying her own chair and sitting away from the art pieces, and not even tried to touch once... The most annoying part was while we were searching for the numbers from the game they designed for the kids, the staff interrupted AGAIN for the kid touching the number sign from the game.

It's very small. You can visit it in 30 minutes. There's A nice cafe from which you can enjoy the city views.

Located right outside Luzern train station on the 4th floor, this was reserved as my last stop before heading back to Lausanne. I really wish I had more time to explore and that my phone wasn’t running out of battery so that I could snap more photos but this is definitely worth a trip down! And once more, with the Swiss Travel Pass, entry to this wonderful museum was free! The ladies at the counter were friendly and helpful and as informed by them, it was “Red” Day yesterday 20 June 2024, (I gathered it was because Switzerland was playing that night in the Euro Cup) the museum stayed open for an extra hour 7pm instead of 6pm. All in all, definitely worth a visit!

Loved this museum. The lady at the ticketing is just so adorable! I was in Lucerne for a day only, she guided me and gave me some tips of places to visit in Lucern, was so kind. Thank you again lovely lady! And the museum is amazing, loved the art exposed there. So rich and diverse.

There’s a wide range of exhibits of very varying ages, including some unusual 6000 year old wooden artifacts and a good armoury collection. Everything labelled (via an ipad) in English and German. It would have been nice to have an old fashioned narrative history of the city to provide some context (apologies if this was on the ipad and I missed it).

It’s fashionable now for museums to open up their depots to give visitors an idea of what they have in store behind the displays. That is how this looks: A depot. You get a tablet to scan the inventory. The collection is fantastically eclectic, from typewriters to Neolithic artefacts, from suits of armour to lingerie, from cutlery to a guillotine, from medieval paintings to modern carnival masks, from toys to a dentist’s chair. It’s good fun to browse but lacks the theme that a good curator would bring to an exhibition.

I was very pleasantly surprised by selection in this museum, with a few very unique pieces I have not seen anywhere else. They're a little tucked away, but at the back on the top floor there's a stunning selection of astonishingly well preserved Neolithic fabrics, rope and tools, which I have never seen in such close proximity before, if at all. There is an enormous range of items, otherwise. Some is the standard for small museum but there are some very interesting unique pieces such as heraldic shields and a extravagant sled. The museum provides a tablet, that can be used to scan items and recieve information on them - in English and hopefully a lot of other languages too! Overall, I was very impressed and would say it is definitely worth the entrance fee!!

Interesting presentation of local historical artifacts. Artifacts are not labeled, rather an iPad is provided to describe everything, which is a bit unwieldy.

Scanning system was frustrating to use and did not allow easy and fluid browsing. The collections felt more eclectic than themed. Few things stood out as particularly interesting, and many that did had such simple descriptions that i was not enthralled.

We spent a surprising amount of time here. The curating is a little eclectic, but the collection is actually really interesting if you can persist with the tablet scanner system. My one big gripe is that it was not clear which barcode went with which object-- there was a lot of trial and error to find the information you wanted (which probably contributed to our lengthy visit...). Some simple numbering would be a financially reasonable solution.

One of the most interesting museums I’ve visited in Switzerland! I loved the self-paced experience, it feels like rummaging through a treasure trove. The items on display range from mid 20th century to 4000BC. A wonderful range of artefacts that tell the story of Lucerne and Switzerland. The Neolithic net at the very top of the museum is a tiny wonder. The staff are very friendly and helpful too.

The terrace would have been wonderful, but we don’t smoke and we were seated between three other couples who chain smoked. The waiter didn’t follow our request to separate the cheese from the salad (allergies) so we just had to order an additional salad. While the food was good, the prices were three times higher than they should have been for the product.

If you're a lover of Italian cuisine, I would suggest this restaurant. Their anti pasta salad buffet is excellent. Pizzas are also really good. Gnocchi, tortellini, etc, are all scrumptious. I like the food here and enjoy the ambience too. It's a child friendly place as it has a play corner indoors as well as a park outdoors. Friendly service and a pleasant place.

If you have kids of any age, and are within a 30 minute drive, this is where you eat out. There is a dedicated play area where I was comfortable letting my 3 year old play but needed to monitor my 1 year old. There are also huge windows overlooking an outdoor playground, for when the weather is good.

Horrible experience There is an Indian server there with an Om tattoo on his neck who literally ripped us On top of the 8.5% service charge of CHF 7.5, this guy charged us another CHF 5. When asked, he said “this is for my service - I brought out the plates for you to eat” So basically he double charges us for service Horrible horrible experience and do not recommend anyone to go there. Restaurants double charging for just bringing out plates is insane. If management is reading this - you need to train the guy and make sure he isn’t ripping people off

I loved it. My little cousin has enjoyed a lot and the room looks really good. A quiet atmosphere.

I walk in and say hello, the staff says “one minute” instead of greeting us, amazing start. Unfortunately the other waitress who served us also didnt seem so motivated to be working. We had pizza and it was very average. So not going back as neither food or service was impressive.

The food was great, I enjoyed the prosciutto pizza to the last bite! Restaurant itself was nice with a welcoming atmosphere. The place even has a small play area for the young guests. All in all a great experience, which would have been perfect if the staff would have been a bit friendlier.

We stayed in Kriens and loved this place so much that we visited two days in a row. Tried the fried rice, wok noodles, spring rolls, dumplings, and crayfish rolls — all with fun and creative names on the menu — and everything was absolutely delicious. The fried rice, in particular, was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Please consider opening a branch in Korea, I’ll be first in line!

We had been searching for rice, as it had been a few days without it, and it felt like the end of the world for us LOL, The food and drink selection at Nooch was excellent. Mary Ann and Jenny provided great service. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good Asian restaurant.

There was a Foot ball Match screening going on...we stopped for a bit here like 30 minutes...u will mostly see locals chilling here, There were a few food trucks here and the food was good. It was safe as u will see kids skating and cycling until late at night...

Christmas market between October and January, a spot with several simple pop-up cafes otherwise. Nice views of the lake. Can get crowded, and bathroom facilities are not always pleasant, but overall it's a nice place to have a cold drink in summer or a hot one in winter.

In the Swiss city of Lucerne, Inseli-Park is a lovely park situated on the shores of Lake Lucerne. The park is a well-liked destination for both locals and visitors and provides breathtaking views of the lake and the mountains in the area. A playground, a swimming pool, a boat rental facility, as well as a number of eateries and cafes, are all located at Inseli-Park. We spent some leisure time here while travelling from Luxembourg to Lauterbrunnen via Luzern. We loved this place very much but we did not have enough time to look around and relax. This a very happening place. Very neat and clean.

Place is cool, but the prices feel like a ripoff. 4.5 for a single espresso and 14 for a panini is more expensive than the best specialised coffee places like Tacuba. The ratio of food portions served vs the amount of staff feels very low, maybe that inefficiency explains the prices.

The only problem is not having an outdoor toilet or parking lot. You have to re-enter the building if you have a toilet while loading. The interesting thing is that all IKEA employees are arrogant and high-minded and have a demanding attitude towards you. 👎👎👎👎

A tiny restaurant located close to the chapel bridge. Many people were opting for take away and the only person managing the outlet was delighted when we decided to sit there and eat. I was amazed at his ability to single handedly manage everything. The food was delicious and fresh. The portions were enormous and we were unable to finish all the food we ordered. The French fries were crispy. The falafel wrap had fresh veggies. The garlic mayo and chilli sauce were delightful. Value for money!

Food was decent and cheap. As a tourist you can try once. Service was pathetic. The waiter was very rude and has issues with Indians. Told me to go back to India. Had a bad experience due to the waiter. The owner should remove him. Atmosphere is basic like any small joint

Solid spot for some halal pizza and sharawma dining. Tried the kebab burger and the pizza and thought they were both solid. The joint is quite casual but close to the chapel bridge and station so location is convenient. Decent pricing as well considering it's Switzerland.

Good and quick lunch. Very filling, generous portion and price is cheap compared to other restaurants in the area. Don’t expect flavor bomb though. Service is quick. This is just grab a bite and go place.

Okayish kebabs and mediocre pizza but seeing it’s Switzerland and everything costs a arm and a leg, if you’re just in the mood to fill your stomach while sacrificing taste then this is the place to be.

Small and sad to see such beautiful animals in a confined space. Let them feel the sun on their faces and be kept in the beautiful countryside. You have so much in abundance there's no need to keep them on this scrappy bit of land !!!

This is the church of my grandfather. He was a minister there from the 40s to the mid 60s if I recall correctly. My brother, sister and myself were baptized there when I was about 10 years old. The church itself is a very simple and modest example. Normaly we are happy to come but lately shower hygiene quality went rapidly down. Black, pink mold, hair everywhere, shower walls not cleaned at all(that kind of dirt can not be made in one day..). very dissapointed. hope it will improve soon..

Considering that this is only a couple of years old it is a terrible design. There is no viewing area so you have to go in with your kids, even if you don't want to swim yourself (ticket prices are high, so this makes a big difference). Showers have unstable temperatures as well as being overcrowded (on Saturdays at least). Ticket machine has been removed (as of 2018) so you have to queue to buy any entry ticket. Staff at the ticket desk are consistently grumpy. Choose the pool in Emmen instead...

Great pools - 4 in all. Tend to get busy with schools and training/ keep-fit classes, so it is worth checking for the least busy times. Clean and serviceable.

Had a chance to visit Asian Take Away when i visited Lucerne. We ordered the vege meal and chicken meal. It was delicious and had the taste of home cooking. Warm service thank you!

Amazing food and great service. It is small and cozy. We enjoyed the food. It had beautiful decor. The food was so fresh and yummy. We got a plate of thali each, and it was a full meal.

Their take out is fast and tastes very authentic. Also much fresher and healthier compared to other similar take out options. Vegan and gluten-free choice available. Small menu but big serving that comes with plenty of sides usually including different vegetables, lentils, tofu,...all accompanied by either lamb, chicken or beef which also tastes amazing.

Amazing food and the person who cooked and served for us is so friendly. We almost went when he was about to close. He still made us good fresh food. There was his smile which made a positive environment. Completely satisfied. I would 100% recommend.

We felt cheated by the owner of this restaurant/take-away place. Firstly the menu was in local language only, so the owner explained it to us. He is from India, so we did have a small talk as well. While the menu portion is for 2 people, the owner came up with a recommendation that he can make it for 3 people and we agreed. He is the all rounder there - owner, chef, server, cleaner etc., so we tried to be kind with the waiting time. At the end, unfortunately, we got an expensive bill where he charged us 3 servings of 2 person menu, which means he gave us food of 6people! He also did not make the menu for us like we agreed to. The food was not worth of what we paid for. We were very disappointed for such an experience at an Indian restaurant.

The food was fairly tasty, but we were a bit disappointed by the amount of dishes available to choose from: only two curry dishes (with either chicken or lamb) and one vegetarian curry. The actual amount of chicken in the plate was quite small. The rest was rice, vegetables and some grains. Both the vegetables and the grains were prepared in a curry sauce. The dishes were not cheap either: for the two curry dishes we paid 58 CHF. To the restaurant: We had to buy to take away, but the place is not very inviting to sit and eat in the restaurant. If it would be considerably cheaper I might consider to come back, but for this price I prefer other asian restaurants in the area.

Tasty food but very expensive for a small takeaway with not so many choices. Price to quantity is not proportional. Very less quantity for the price charged. We ended up being billed for 5 main courses for a family of 2 adults and 2 young kids!!! Kids only shared a small amount of rice from our bowl and we were charged separately for kids menu!!! Curry provided for buffet was used with naan and we were billed for a separate naan menu!!! An absolute shocker to pay 13 chf for 2 naan bread!!! Bigger Indian restaurants in Swiss would charge 2 or 3chf for only naan as extra bread!!!

You can play ice skating here, also have the beginner with the holding thing. It’s a lot of fun with friends and family. There have the food and drink for sell.

Lovely place to ice skate! Price for one is very affordable and not limited by time~ Although, at the disco parties at Saturday evening, they put colorful lights and it was pretty, but it was very hard for me to skate with them since I couldn't see and I'm still learning. Later on they did turn them on but I already had to go.. 🤷‍♀️

Beautiful place for kids ,youths and even tall grown ups are not left .. that's if you can Ice skat. But there are skating toys for learners too. I love it ( didn't skate but was watching from the restaurant window while drinking coffee 😎)

Just been there to skate with my kids on a sat afternoon. They provide all the equipment you need including some sort of plastic dolfins for smaller kids supporting their fist steps on the ice. These you pay extra.

If you are walking from the Train Station in Lucerne it will take you about 10 minutes to reach this place. Very nice, colorful buildings, really worth a visit. There is also a Pilatus Tourism Office there if you have time to explore different destinations!

It’s a nice place in the Center of city. You will get a mount pilatus office in this area itself.

Good park for grill or swim with a good view of Luzern. However, beware of pickpocketing signs made it uncomfortable to be there. Instead of relaxing, you might have to constantly look at your valuables.

Absolutely love this public park in Luzern. Wheelchair accessible, has public water closet, a vast area to play sports such as frisbee or run around, and an elevated platform. There are various trees around to provide fresh air and contrast to the landscape. There is also a sandy/beach part of the park where you can go close to the water of Lake Lucerne. Then across the lake you can view the homes and buildings or the Swiss Alps — breathtaking view. A bonus is there are ducks to view, so it adds to the experience and augments the beauty of the park.

Public beach with electric grills, shower, toilets and small restaurant/shop. It gets crowdy on nice days and atmosphere is good. Perfect place to enter the lake with your SUP. Views are breathtaking!

In the center of the Swiss city of Lucerne stands the stunning and storied Apothekergarten. The garden was established by the monks of the nearby Franziskanerkloster in the sixteenth century, and its original purpose was to cultivate therapeutic herbs. The garden now supports a wide range of plants, including edible vegetables, flowers, and medicinal herbs. Both locals and visitors frequent the Apothekergarten. The garden is well-kept, lovely, and provides a tranquil, soothing environment. The garden is a fantastic location to discover medicinal herbs and their applications.

We took the scheduled boat from Gersau to Lucerne and back. We paid CHF 202.00 for two 1st class tickets. That's too much! The selection of drinks and snacks is very small and expensive. With a journey time of over 2 hours each way, I expect something proper to eat. I wouldn't do it again.

Pleasant hour spent on the Lake hood city views and Lakeshore villages at far end with hills above. Plenty of seating inside and out. Bar and restaurant. Departs from Quay 7 across the bridge from the ticket office.

Very good experience and fantastic service on the board. We took the cruise with train and the cable car. One of the best experience of seeing nature at its best. The view was awesome. As we went train went uphill we experienced different weather. Starting with sunny day at the bottom mountain to snow storm on the top of the mountain.

Although we weren’t able to enjoy our sunset dinner cruise due to an unexpected illness, I’m still giving five stars for the outstanding customer service. The team kindly provided a refund, even though they weren’t required to. We truly appreciate their generosity and look forward to experiencing this cruise on our next visit to Lucerne!

Nope, you still can’t just walk in then walk out of this store with a brand new Rolex haha (kidding aside if you are pining for a Rolex and can’t deal with the complexity of the acquiring process, seriously consider an Omega, the Swiss’s favorite watch or a Grand Seiko, a watch that enthusiasts who buy it fall in love with it over and over again everyday). Of course easy to say since I have 2 gorgeous Rolexes. I do also have an Omega and a Grand Seiko, both of which I seem to wear more than the Rolex nowadays. Anyway my star rating is based on the fact that most luxury Swiss watches here are no cheaper than what you’d probably pay in your home country (sorry not interested in Carl F. Bucherer nor B Swiss watches). That being said, I love being surrounded by the latest luxury watches that Bucherer carry as well as gawk in person the incredible engineering of watches like the absolutely stunning Jacob&Co Gotham City timepiece.

Stop by and grab a free GWP Rolex spoon. You have to buy something, anything to get it so a bought a Swiss Army knife on the 3rd or 4th floor. Great selection of watches!

I walked by this place and noticed nice-looking chocolates. When you walk inside, ask them to taste something if you are interested. I intended to get a small box of a collection I picked. I ended up going over board. It tastes really good, but it is really expensive. However, the lady who was helping me was super nice and explained every single option I picked. This alone made it a nice experience.

Amazing shop! It was absolutely packed and crowded when we visited on an evening. Lot of tourists trying to buy chocolates here. The service was great, staff was very nice and polite. We bought quite a lot of items and everything was so tasty and nice! I recommend this place for chocolates from Luzerne! Their thin bar chocolates of different flavours by weight that you can buy which the staff cuts into pieces and gives you is the best!

If you visit Lucerne it's of course a must see. It's a bridge built in 1365 and looks impressive regarding the length of about 200m. In my opinion not more than 8min worth of your time and a little over rated.

I've ordered the Smashed Burger and my girlfriend the Bao Bun with chicken as side dish we've shared one portion off fries with trufflemayo. Our kids just ordered fries. Drinks, 2 Panasch and 2 water. Total cost: 76.00 CHF! That's definitely more than enough (you Also need to pick-up your food yourself) but let's stay realistic, the location and view are incredible. Also the food was really good. The restaurant was almost empty (end of a rainy day) so the only one there was taking the order and prepared the food. But still this person was very friendly and did a good job. Next to the restaurant is a big playground for the kids, so after they were done eating, they played for almost an hour. Cheap, no. Food, quite good. View, fantastic.

Pricey but delicious burgers, fries with big portions. Service is alright, I was a bit lost at first, i wasn't sure if i was supposed to wait for staff to come to our table or go inside and order myself which is what i ended up doing. There wasn't any signs telling you the way it works at this restaurant but nevermind. I brought the food out myself but staff is kind. Lovely and relaxing seating area by the water, however it would've been nice to hear some music playing.

This year we visited twice – at the beginning and at the end of the season. At the beginning we were very satisfied: the food was delicious, the atmosphere cozy and nice. We ordered the Lido Salad. It came with strawberries and a tasty sauce. The service was good. We came again in August 2025. They had changed the layout, and it took a long time to find our order. It was inconvenient to get the food, we had to run around asking where to pick it up. The table we got was dirty, and since you need to collect the food yourself, nobody even offered to wipe it. After finishing, it was also unclear where to put the used cutlery. The whole place felt chaotic, with no clear signs or instructions. We ordered the same Lido Salad as before. Right on top there was a completely rotten blackberry with mold. How could you not notice what you were putting on the plate? There were only a few berries, obviously placed one by one by hand. How could you not see that some of them were rotten? We trusted and started eating — it was absolutely disgusting. A complete disappointment. The sauce was also tasteless, with an unpleasant aftertaste. The meat was full of cartilage, undercooked, and very unpleasant to eat. On top of that, you need to pay separately for the meat, which makes it even more disappointing. This completely ruined the good impression from the previous visit and killed any desire to come back.

The salad bar was a very welcome surprise. Very fresh with a small but nice variety of vegetables including quinoa and quite tasty dressings. After a few days of schnitzels and breads I was craving a meal full of veggies… and fries of course. Washed down with a cold can of presecco. All that and a waterfront table and I was a very happy girl. 😁

Swiss cuisine at its best. Great service and excellent meal! We didn't have a reservation but arriving shortly before 6pm on a Saturday we still managed to get a table for 2. If only the British could learn to treat Brussels sprouts with the same respect and love they are treated by the chefs here!

Came for dinner with a reservation. Was greeted with humor and a smile. Seated early without a fuss and served quickly with beverages. Many layers and levels of taste throughout the evening. The glacé d’viand served with the young beef was very nice. The polenta with the beef was a little undercooked, but the quark dessert made up for it being excellent as well.

We enjoyed friendly, fast and helpful service, available in the garden or indoors of this delightful restaurant, easily found a block away from the lake front. The food was tasty, well described on the menu and satisfying. The fine old hotel building had been expertly modernised and was super clean. Highlights were gazpacho, soft cheese and tomato starter, trout with polenta and celeriac puree, plenty of vegetarian options. Prices were fair, in comparison to some rather touristy places we had encountered, which should be avoided!

The place was really nice, in the heart of the city, wonderful view of the lake. The apartment was very spacious and prepared very well before our arrival. The check-in was smooth, as I got the keys conveniently from the box at the entrance. The instructions were very clear. Every thing was at walking distance so it was so convenient to move around in the city and go back for taking rest whenever needed. The host was very responsive on messages and very courteous. For the guidance of those who want to stay in future, couple of things to be mindful in advance: 1- The nearest parking is 400m away. 2- The lift is very narrow, 3 person can hardly fit in it, and if you have luggage then it might be a little inconvenient. We stayed in Uranis I and then one night in Saturn III. Both apartments were very good. You can event check their layout on website which is very rare for any property. Our stay was wonderful with the family and will definately like to return in future.

We found HITrental Zurich very comfortable and well equipped room with everything we needed. It’s a short stroll to the train station and town centre and river where all the sight seeing , eateries and pubs are. We would recommend it to others.

Very happy with our first experience in Switzerland, which started at Chapel Bridge Apartments HITrental. The location is perfect—within easy reach of major attractions, and surrounded by plenty of restaurants, bars, cafés, and supermarkets. The hotel itself was good as well, except for a cooking smell coming from downstairs, which made it difficult to open the bedroom window. The facilities are adequate, with everything needed to prepare simple meals. Overall, it was a 5-star experience—highly recommended!

I stayed with them Late May 2025. The room had a bedroom and living room for 2 adults and one kid. The kitchen was small but had everything including refrigerator, It was in the old town and we could walk everywhere and walked over from the train station. It was clean and safe . There was a laundry room on another floor on another floor but we were able to use it couple of times so wonderful. Switzerland is beautiful and expensive but we enjoyed it a lot

We 4 stayed in Mars IV B FOR 4 nights and booked Neptune 1 for 2 nights for our privacy additionally. Extremely Disappointed — Misleading Photos of the apartment booked. Suffered Extra cost to book another room We had a very bad experience with HitRental during our recent stay. The photos shown on their website for our booked room were completely different from what we actually received. The room we were given looked nothing like what was advertised — it lacked the private room for the couple and had 1 single room with 2 queen beds. To be fair, the apartment was neat and clean, and all basic cutlery and kitchen essentials were provided, which we do appreciate the location was so perfect and beautiful. We loved it To make matters worse, because of not having a private bedroom we had to book an additional room at HITrental itself and ended up paying around 340CHF extra for 2 nights, which was completely unfair. The support team shud hv changed the apartment after we complained abt their mistake. But no revert We trusted HitRental for accurate information and reliable support, but this experience has completely shaken our confidence in the HITrental properties.I strongly urge others to double-check the property directly before booking.

I stayed at this place while visiting Lucerne for a couple of days. It met my expectations. I received instructions how to self check-in well in advance. I arrived late evening and self check-in was smooth. The property admin was very responsive throughout the stay. For example, I realised that the room was on the 4th floor so I asked if they have a lift and I got a prompt response that there was a small lift. It was small and slow but it did the job. The room itself was clean and had every amenity in it as mentioned in the description. The room, bathroom, kitchen, linen, everything was clean. I was mainly out and about but wanted a well equiped kitchenette so this was perfect. It does not have a view and you need to pull the curtains for privacy but it did not bother me. The location is close to everything. They also provided a couple of universal adaptors for connecting your appliances. It was very hot for both days I stayed at the property and the pedestal fan struggled to keep the heat away. I kept the windows open and fan on to improve the comfort. Finally, the checkout was very easy.

Location of the place is good ...walkable to Luzern station ..even with luggage However the actual building is a complicated one. Entrance is confusing for first time travellers. Rooms are small , no air-conditioning only fan. The room was very stuffy for the month of June Rooms are quite pricey , lifts etc very small. Overall it won't give a feeling of hotel but the price is of a hotel. No concierge or any facilities of any sort. Ideal if ypu ate only with your parttner but not ideal for those with families. Food and restaurants nearby and not an issue.

The route offered breathtaking views of the Alps — truly like something out of a postcard. Riding through the beautiful Swiss countryside was already incredible, but what made it even more special were the interactive quiz games along the way. We were lucky enough discover Loop Tours Lucerne on our last day in Lucerne and we couldn’t be more grateful for the experience. From the very beginning, Roberto, the owner of the tour, welcomed us with such warmth and kindness that we immediately knew we were in good hands. Before we started, he explained in detail how the bikes worked, made sure we felt comfortable and safe at all times. You can tell everything is thoughtfully prepared and done with real care. The route itself was absolutely stunning. We rode through areas near the edge of Lake Lucerne, mostly off the beaten path, discovering hidden gems that not many know about. We got to enjoy breathtaking scenery, charming neighborhoods, lush fields, and even passed by a beautiful castle. At one point, we stopped at a beautiful spot by the lake to have some tea and a small traditional Swiss snack, all while admiring the incredible views of the mountains and the lake. It was truly magical. But what truly elevates this experience is Roberto. He doesn’t just guide the tour, he transforms it. The way he tells stories, shares curious facts, and expresses his love for Switzerland makes the ride so much richer and more meaningful. We could’ve spent hours just listening to him. He has a very special way of connecting with people that turns this into something personal and unforgettable. I honestly felt sad when the tour ended; we didn’t want it to be over. Without a doubt, this has been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in Switzerland and I’ve been several times. I will definitely do it again next time I visit, and I’ll be recommending it to every friend and family member heading to the country. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. This is the kind of activity that belongs in the top 5 things to do in Switzerland. Day 1 kicked off with a scenic ferry ride followed by a charming train journey to the summit. We wrapped up the day with a gondola ride back to Lucerne, snapping pictures at the iconic Chapel Bridge and indulging in delicious apple strudel from a local bakery. 🍏🍰 On Day 2, we enjoyed a half-day tour of Lucerne on a scenic cargo bike! 🚴‍♀️ We visited the Lion Monument, explored the charming old town, and savored the best cheese fondue pastry I’ve ever had! 🧀🥐 Roberto took us to the outskirts of the city to learn more about the local culture and history, leaving us with a deeper appreciation for Lucerne. We returned to our hotel feeling like we had truly experienced the best of Lucerne, all thanks to the most wonderful tour guide. A Serene Surprise in the Heart of Lucerne – Saphir Panorama Yacht Cruise While strolling through beautiful Lucerne, we stumbled upon the Saphir Panorama Yacht Cruise purely by chance. A long queue piqued our curiosity, so we joined in—and we’re so glad we did! For just 64 CHF for two people, this cruise turned out to be an absolute gem. The experience was peaceful and incredibly scenic. The yacht itself is spacious, allowing everyone to move around comfortably and take in the views from all angles. There’s even a clean onboard toilet, which was a thoughtful convenience. One of the highlights was a stop in the middle of the cruise that offered a breathtaking, picture-perfect view of the Swiss Alps. It was truly magical and gave us a moment to pause and soak in the natural beauty. I honestly can’t find the words to fully express how much I enjoyed this experience. If you’re in Lucerne, don’t miss it—it’s the perfect blend of tranquility and sightseeing.

What a great, scenic 1 hour round-trip cruising tour from a luxury yacht. A panoramic view of Lucern, it's bay and the scenic mountains Switzerland can provide. It departs from Pier 7 (Schweizerhofquai)

The boat leaves from Pier 7. We went to the pier and scanned a QR code that took us to a website where we made the payment. There was a long queue at the time of boarding and the staff were doing their best to make the boarding process as smooth as possible. The scenery was beautiful of course. One of the things we did not like was the behaviour of some of the guests onboard. A group of tourist from a certain nationality were very loud and jumping from one place on the deck to another trying to take photos. I also thought the price was a bit to the high side. The provided seats on the top deck were very uncomfortable. If you have some back pain, those seats won't help.

It was an awesome little one hour look-see. Beautiful views and beautiful waters in August. Well worth the $20+ and I'd refer it to everyone. They a have a 2 hour trip as well as others. Such beautiful surroundings and views from Luzern.

Nice little jaunt around the lake. Nothing super special, but we didn't take advantage of the audio or amenities on board which might have made a difference. In any case, very nice boat and a kind captain. The lake and surrounding mountains are beautiful.

The roundtrip is really nice. Takes about 30-40 min. And the view is amazing. There is a restaurant onboard which is a bit on the pricey side but thats everywhere in Switzerland.
