Lagoa Azul is a must-visit spot on Ilha Grande, offering the chance to swim in a natural aquarium surrounded by various fish and starfish. The island also boasts other beautiful beaches like Praia Vermelha, Aracatiba, and Freguesia do Medio. Visitors can take a schooner tour from Santa Luzia station to explore Lagoa Azul and other attractions with the option of diving into the clear waters.
Beautiful beach paradise heaven crystal clear water. Fishes turtles and many more sea life you can discover. I went from Angra dos Reis Pier Port by Escuna It was an amazing experience. Must visit beach 🏖️ located on Ilha Grande Island 🏝️

We stopped here on our way to Lopes Mendes Beach. The place is nice & we were able to see several kinds of fish. It's however a shame that so many boats come that close & there was a strong fuel smell.
Naesse T — Google review
A must visit. The best option is a tour from Rio.
Roger G — Google review
Very busy and not much better than many of the other areas nearby. You'll be dropped straight into the water, no beach area, a few rock you can climb.

Lopes Mendes Beach is a remote and undeveloped gem, offering a serene escape with its pristine white sand, almond trees, and stunning mountain views. Accessible via a private hike or with the guidance of a local expert, reaching this natural wonder is an enriching experience that allows for a deep connection with nature. Despite being recognized as one of the world's top beaches, it remains relatively secluded, providing ample space for visitors to find their own tranquil spot along the 1.
A paradise, beauty beyonds any words all around, thin clean bright sand dazzling us under a beautiful sky, definitively one of the most amazing beaches I have seen in years. There is a bit of hiking to get there,an around 20 minutes walk across a stunning forest, we saw colorful birds in it and eagles on the beach.
Sardanapolo — Google review
Soft soft white beach when you step on the sand its like stepping into fresh snow that crunch sound! We walked from Abraão beach through the forest. If you are a hiker I recommend it, its a 2hr hike. BUT I’m not a hiker so took us 3 hrs while it was beautiful and we saw monkeys and birds if i do it again I’d take a boat so i have more time on the beach
Meytha A — Google review
Very good beach if you are a surfer. There are large waves there. If you want to swim this isn't the place. There are surfing schools on the beach, stands with drinks. There is no taxi boat that you can take from there (unless you have arranged pick up in advance).
Victoria H — Google review
This place is SURREAL! We got to visit this beach early in the morning and it was a magical moment alone in the world! There is a small walk of around 15 minutes to get there, if you are lucky enough you will spot monkeys and birds !
Estefania N — Google review
One of the most beautiful beach if ever seen. The sand is really white like in the movies and the water is so clean and nice. Once you there you don’t want to leave I promise you! A must see when you visit Ihla Grande! I recommend to hike to the beach it’s quiet challenging but nice to climb up and down through the tropical forest. And as mentioned before, definitely worth it
Zoltán S — Google review
Very long sandy beach. Apparently once voted among the best beaches in the world but I don't see why, as it is not very special or photogenic. The life guards mark most of the beach unsafe to swim and only leave a small part open in front of their watch tower. But that part is so shallow that it's not possible to swim there and beyond that there are huge waves so again not swimmable. The best thing about the beach is that it is so big you can find a spot with no one around. The trail to get there from the drop off point is about 20 minutes and you can see some cute looking monkeys there if you're lucky.
Petr V — Google review
What a beach 🏝 a real paradise beach. The beach is very long so you can easily find a suite spot away from the crowds. There is little food and drinks for sale on the beach, so make sure you bring some before you leave. It is also a bit of a muddy hike trough the jungle before you get to the beach, so best to wear the right footwear
Joachim S — Google review
Absolutely incredible beach. The sand is fine. The ground is clean. The waves are huge! We hiked 3 hours from Vila de Abraão and it was absolutely challenging and worth it. A must see when on Ilha Grande and Brazil!

(Translated by Google) Incredible beach with a wonderful restaurant, but it is not registered on Google yet. The restaurant is called Cantinho do Otavio and the owner is called Mr. Silvano! He told us the story of why the restaurant is called "Cantinho do Otavio" and the reason for the name is because his father-in-law, who passed away, left the house to him and his daughter, so as a tribute he created the restaurant. With delicious home-cooked food and some fish and chicken options, he gives us the pleasure of being part of his life story, not to mention that his prices are much better and cheaper than Bar do Luiz and others on the island. A 10 with 5 stars!!! I wish all the success to Mr. Silvano and Cantinho do Otavio. Beaches
Praia Do Caxadaço is a picturesque beach cove with crystal-clear waters and a small sandy shoreline, surrounded by large climbing rocks that offer stunning panoramic views of the pristine rainforest and the glistening ocean. While it may feel like paradise due to its beautiful scenery and inviting waters, the beach tends to get crowded with tourists. Many visitors enjoy climbing the large rocks for an elevated perspective of the beach, but caution is advised for those considering jumping into the water from these heights.
Looks like paradise really. It's a small beach with big rocks around and amazing clear water. A lot of people jump from the big rock but just do that if you feel pretty confident about doing it! The view of the beach from the rock it's worth climbing there.
B B — Google review
Beautiful beach with some big rock formations that you can climb up to and get a good view overlooking both the crystalline water and intact rain forest! Only downside is that there’s a lot of people visiting at the same time so the beach gets kinda overcrowded.
Francisco S — Google review
Nothing relaxing about this beach unless your idea of paradise is a small strip of sand with tons of people and boat horns constantly going off because the tours seem to think this is a nice way to gather their people. The fact that this beach has a 4.8 rating at the time of posting this makes me seriously question whether people are being incentivized to leave 5 star reviews

Feiticeira is a small, secluded beach that can be accessed by boat or a hike with medium difficulty and takes about an hour and a half. The highlight of the journey is the Cachoeira de Feiticeira waterfall, standing at 15 meters high, where visitors can take a refreshing shower and swim in the pool. The trail also offers beautiful natural pools along the way. After enjoying the waterfall, visitors can continue to the nearby beach for more relaxation.
Beautiful waterfall. Very refreshing to dip into after making the hike and the views of the ocean are lovely too. Hike isn’t difficult either. Took us an hour maybe. 👍👍’s so definitely worth it! @nothin_but_views

(Translated by Google) Small beach but worth taking the trail and passing by the waterfall on the way. Medium difficulty and approximate duration 1 hour and a half to the beach. I also recommend going to the beach next door as there are no boats or shops. People with loud speakers and loud music are a bit annoying. The beach is often visited by tour boats offering short stays to enjoy the serene environment.
Beautiful beach. Instagram Hotspot though (lot of boats stopping here as part of tours) and the 2-3 stray dogs there will kill any soccer ball you're playing with. Absolutely gorgeous - although probably a little bit overhyped considering the amount of other gorgeous beaches in the area, so expect a beautiful beach and beautiful clean water, just perhaps not the number one beach on the planet. Officially nothing gets sold here but there are some informal vendors there.

Pouso Beach is a charming hidden gem nestled between lush hills and features a restaurant and a boat dock. It serves as an access point to Santo Antonio beach and the renowned Lopes Mendes beach, known for its stunning 3 km stretch of white sand, jungle surroundings, palm trees, and large boulders. Despite being popular, the expansive beach offers quiet spots away from the crowds.
Although it's mostly only used as a base to walk to Lopes Mendes beach, I thought it was very pretty. It was clean and quiet. It has a nice floating bar if you feel thirsty or peckish. But mind you, you'll need to get your feet wet to climb on the floating pier. Totally worth it!

This beach is a pitstop to the slopes Mendes beach, but it is still a a very nice beach. Too bad that a lot of boats stay there waiting for people.
Tiago D — Google review
Very nice beach. There is a restaurant and a taxi boat. A bit crowded.
Victoria H — Google review
Peaceful, beautiful place to relax. You can get there by a trail from Abraao or by boat. The bars offer pricey food and beverages since there's no electricity at this part of the island so bring your own when getting there!
B B — Google review
Nice little beach with a good choice of food and taxi services, but it is quite busy and you do get hounded a little bit by the Taxi people at first. Not an issue overall, but this beach is more of a stepping stone to get to Lopes and back to town.

The trails from here to Lopes Mendes and Palmas are easy and you can spot plenty of wildlife. Not too much going on, on the beach, with a few basic choices for food and drinks. A pretty stopover to your next destination. Can take boats

Tip: buy short trips until 4 hours of duration that starts early morning. These trips don't go to touristic restaurants: expensive and poor food.

Santo Antônio Beach is a small and tranquil gem with stunning green, crystal clear waters and a backdrop of lush Atlantic forest. Similar to its famous neighbor, Lopes Mendes, this beach boasts fine white sand and pristine water but stands out with its unique large boulders and rocks that add an exotic touch to the landscape. The beach offers breathtaking views of Jorge Grego Island off the coast of Ilha Grande.
I was told to get here it’s an easy hike from praia Pouso. I wouldn’t say that, but it wasn’t so bad. You need to get a taxi boat from Abraao (70R return ticket). Then you hike up and down a hill, it took us 45mins, but mainly because it had been raining and it was slippery and muddy so we were being slow and careful with our steps. Also it’s a hike in a jungle so a repelent is needed. There are mosquitos, bugs, wasps, and ants, we also saw a marmoset. Some steps are steep and big. But the reward, oh my god. You reach a beach with almost no one there and its so beautiful. Even on a cloudy rainy day we enjoyed it so much and played in the waves. Please, make sure you dont leave trash… since the beach is not looked after, it just stays there…. we saw so many plastic bags and other trash like toys laying in the sand…

The most beautiful of all of the Ilhe Grande beaches! Follow the sign from the main path to Lopes Mendes beach, down a slightly overgrown path for 15 minutes and you will be rewarded by an almost deserted cove with perfect swimming water.

(Translated by Google) Santo Antônio Beach is the most beautiful beach on Ilha Grande and is little known. The water is extremely clear, with white sand on one side and an impressive rock on the other. The same trail that leads to Lopes Mendes Beach also gives access to Santo Antônio, and it is definitely worth taking a detour to visit it. On the day my fiancée and I were there, there were no more than 10 people, with no loudspeakers, which made it perfect for those looking for peace and privacy. It is an ideal place for those looking for a calm and peaceful environment to relax and read.

Aventureiro Beach is often considered the true paradise of Ilha Grande, with its fine-sand beach nestled in a bay surrounded by forested hills. The calm and shallow waters make it an ideal spot for swimming and relaxation. The famous L-shaped palm tree hanging over the tranquil waters has made this beach an iconic representation of paradise worldwide. Nearby, the traditional fishing village of Modesa adds to the charm with its pristine local culture.

Beautiful beach no doubt and the palm tree is definitely a legendary photo opp. You’ll have to wait your turn though. Under the culinary guidance of renowned chef Gero Fasano, the restaurant specializes in exquisite seafood dishes that highlight seasonal ingredients.
Wonderful lunch - burrata and grilled vegetables were perfect, and the beef farfalle with parmesan cream excellent.

Great elegant and charming ambience, with stone floors and polished wooden furniture. Surrounding areas are beautiful and very walkable. The food unfortunately was not good, especially the cacio e pepe which is table stakes at an Italian restaurant. Spaghetti alle vongole was their best dish.

Service is incredibly slow, even when the place is not full. The food was delicious, and served to perfection. I would not order a glass of wine here, as you get so little you think it's a taste. Order a bottle otherwise you'll be as frustrated as we were with the amount you'll get for $100 or more, it's a joke.

HELL'S KITCHEN!!! I went to the restaurant with 5 friends on a Monday and the restaurant was almost empty. We had to wait 20 minutes before being seated for no reason at all. We just ordered some drinks and a couple of cakes. One of us was served immediately while the rest of us had to wait more than 20 minutes. When I asked for explanations they said that there was a line in the kitchen?!?!?! Bytheway, the Tiramisu tasted very bad! The bill was overpriced. Aweful!!!

(Translated by Google) Fasano's restaurant is probably one of the best gastronomic experiences in the area. It has an extensive menu with regional products, stellar service and an unbeatable location. They welcome you with a complete bread basket, with different "dips" to accompany delicious homemade breads. As a starter we ordered the vitél toné, tasty, well executed. As the main thing, the fishing of the day was spectacular, nothing less was expected since they have the sea just meters from the restaurant. The meat ravioli had an intense flavor, that umami profile that with the softness of the cheese sauce results in a somewhat relaxing dish due to the intense but succulent flavors. Mozzarella ravioli with pomodoro do not fail simply because this combination of tomato and cheese is still an infallible classic that is very difficult to spoil. The creme brulee was mild, not too sweet. The profiteroles were quite good, nothing out of this world, but with a fresh and delicate texture. The pastry sheet was bland, forgettable. All in all, it is a restaurant that meets what is expected from a derivative of a hotel of this category.

(Translated by Google) It's very beautiful here. Both above and below the water. Especially the below-water part is of a beauty that unfortunately doesn't last long. It's being destroyed by barbecue boats that throw trash into the water. Paper with mayonnaise, bones, cans, bags, plastic cups, straws, cigarette butts. They play funk music so loud that you can't even talk 100 meters away. In addition, there were about 80 jetskis competing, above the corals, above the fish that are the reason for the beauty of the place! We know that these machines ruin the peace above the water. But it's 10x worse below the water, it disrupts life there, right? I wanted to cry, I felt so sad. Is it not possible to enjoy the beauty without destroying it? Praia de Abrãaozinho is a beautiful beach with clear and calm waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming and relaxation. While it can get crowded in the afternoon, there is still plenty of space to unwind. Visitors can find a few restaurants and vendors nearby for refreshments. However, it's advisable to avoid weekends due to the influx of people. Additionally, transportation costs from the beach back to Abrao by taxi boat are relatively high.
A very nice beach overall with a few restaurants and vender near by should you need something to eat or drink. If you come early, the beach is actually not very busy (depending on season) but at about 1pm people will start to fill the beach, by 3pmish you'll have quite a few people (but still plenty of space to relax). The water is reasonably clear and calm. A great place to relax.

It was OK. The beach was nothing too special, I would recommend Praia Preta instead if you are looking for a nice beach near Abraão. The pros of going here instead would be the fact that there are some restaurants here, a little less people, and clear water. However, the hiking trail there made it not worth going. It is not taken care of properly. There is lots of trash that stinks, and instead of having regular railings there are barbed wires close to the trail in places where people could easily slip, making it incredibly dangerous. Would not recommend the trail to anyone because of the dangers, especially during the rainy season when the path is almost guaranteed to be muddy and therefore extra slippery.

Pico do Papagaio (Parrot's Peak) is an amazing view, but it's one hell of a trek. If you are quite fit, it is well worth the effort. Ignore the signs and tourist information insistance of the need for a guide. The path is easy to follow. Praia dos Meros is a stunning beach on Ilha Grande with crystal-clear green waters and coconut trees surrounded by lush vegetation. Some of the most beautiful places I've ever being! The water is so clear and there are plenty of corals near the beach what makes it the best place to snorkel. Try to be careful though and don't touch anything like some tourists do there. Totally worth the visit!

Very rude staff member at the bar who made us feel very unwelcome and unwanted. It's a nice location but the walk all the way there to then be belittled like that really made it not worth it. It's a shame really

This place is a tourist trap. Absolutely nothing to do, bar and restaurant are completely empty and if you go to abrao and come back after 10pm they will charge you a ridiculous amount for a maximum 5 minutes boat transfer (up to 150 BRL) per person

Incredibly expensive. Their menu is very unclear and despite asking for a meal for one person and not to share, as is common in Brazil, I paid the full price. I even pointed out to the waiter I wanted a meal for one. Apparently only some meals are shared, nowhere it says which and I was not informed even though I even pointed at the disclaimer for 1vs2 people. Not cool. Also not the best quality food, so double the disappointment.

The beach is amazing and the restaurant/bar looks nice, their home made beer is lovely, but my girlfriend and I GET INTOXICATED after eating the "PASTEU" with schrimps. Obviously the SCHRIMPS were NOT FRESH.

I wasnt on the hotel. I went to the restaurant for a prawn festival. It was desorganized and the lack of training and knowledge of staff and manager was clear. There were 2 lots of tickets with different prices for the same service and when questioningI was told it is an usual practice in Brazil. It wasn't advertised on the flyers and No one has given this information when buying the tickets. It was a mess. The worse money I had spent on the island. I don't reccomend the bar and restaurant.

My boyfriend and I hope to see the family again, thank you Mr. Neon Cap and his daughter! (Translated by Google) I recommend it! I went to this beach in January 2025 and it was a great surprise! It wasn't in my plans, I only found out I was going to stop there when I was already on the tour company's boat. In this case, I did the half-way tour and this beach was included in the itinerary. The beach is beautiful, with that clear, green sea typical of Ilha Grande. The only annoying thing — and it happens on several beaches on the island — is the amount of boats docked, both on the sand and in the sea, which ends up spoiling the view a bit. But nothing that takes away from the charm of the place. (Original) Recomendo!

Praia das Eguas is a small, tranquil beach with calm waters and no waves, making it perfect for a relaxing day by the sea. The beach is surrounded by trees and has limited facilities, so visitors are advised to bring their own chairs, food, and drinks. It's a somewhat hidden gem that requires descending about 40 stairs to reach the shore, which may not be wheelchair accessible. Lucky visitors might even spot turtles or fish in the clear waters.
Beautiful amazing clean nature. Kind of hidden beach. If is your luck you can see turtle 🐢 fish 🐠🐟 in the sea. The beach has about 40 stairs to go down to the beach so if with wheelchair just keep in mind. The beach has paid parking but is very limited so if weekend need to reach early to have a good parking. The parking is 3 reais for ever 2 hours. The beach has kiosks that serve various lunch snacks beers and other alcohol. The food was very good and with affordable prices. The beach is like a heaven clean and beautiful. Has plenty trees that gives shadows good for kids. If possible carry your chairs to sit or clothes for floor as the sand is amazing to sit too. We had opportunity to see the turtle and plenty fishes. There is a rock 🪨 to jump in the sea water is really adventurous. Highly recommend.

Bonfim Beach is a charming spot located in the heart of Angra dos Reis, just a short drive away from other attractions like Cais Turistico de Santa Luzia. The leisure area provides access to nearby beaches such as Anil Beach and Praia Das Gordas Public Beach. This golden-sand beach offers a tranquil atmosphere and beautiful sea views, making it an ideal destination for relaxation.
Lovely little beach for the kids to spend some time on. The area is very quite and clean. The only problem is that there are no public toilets around. The children love jumping off the jetty into the water below. The water is very clean being so close to the town. A worth while visit.

Praia da Bica is a small and tranquil beach located near the center of Abraao, making it easily accessible. It is often not crowded, offering visitors a peaceful atmosphere. Additionally, it serves as a stop along the trail to Abraaozinho. On Governador Island, Praia da Bica stands out as one of the best and most popular beaches.
This video was recorded in Peixe Frito - Bar e Cultura. After the crowded weekend this is the place where you must go to appreciate good music with the sea view.

Wooooow! Cool place and definitely worth visiting while on the road. It is a quick stop where you can learn about the nuclear energy as it is next to the Nuclear Power Plant. We loved it! The video which they are presenting was in Portuguese but had English subtitles. There is a free coffee and facilities so it is worth stopping even if you are not interested in nuclear and want to take a poo in a nice bathroom.

(Translated by Google) An excellent, almost private beach. Until recently, it was deserted and exclusive, with crystal clear, sheltered waters. Nowadays, schooners and tour operators have adopted it as a meeting point. You have to arrive early to secure a spot. After periods of rain, it becomes full of organic waste, such as branches and leaves.
