The Huntsman, located in Brockenhurst, has undergone a stylish transformation by Marstons and the Concorde Group. The interior boasts an industrial chic vibe with metal fixtures, reclaimed parquet floors, and plush velour booths. The trendy bedrooms feature window-shaped mirrors, bare-bulb light fittings, and bold patterned fabrics reminiscent of a chic city hotel. For added privacy, guests can opt for rooms in the converted stable block.
Our family lunch at The Huntsman was a great choice. Booking ahead meant we had a lovely, comfortable table in a relaxed and inviting space. The food was a highlight — clearly made with care, packed with flavour, and beautifully plated. The quality, portion size, and attentive service made it a fantastic value. From beginning to end, the experience was smooth and enjoyable. The staff were welcoming and made us feel at home. A fantastic New Forest venue — we’ll definitely visit again.

This was my second visit and it will definitely be my last. I ordered roast beef with no horseradish and a side of cauliflower cheese. The cauliflower cheese never arrived, and the beef was dumped on a bed of horseradish anyway. The beef & Yorkshire pudding were inedible, the potatoes were practically raw, the “vegetables” consisted of leeks and a single carrot, and the plate was swimming in a thin, watery gravy that resembled soup. A roast dinner should be comforting — this was an absolute disaster.

Fabulous 2 night stay at The Huntsman. Newly refurbished room, which was very cosy. Tasty breakfast. Great location, perfect for Forrest walks and even a trip to the Isle of White, which we did! Friendly and helpful staff, they kindly helped us with the trains and ferry as we were a little unsure. We'll be back.

We reserved a table for a family lunch at The Huntsman and were so glad we did. The seating was comfortable and well laid out, creating a really relaxed atmosphere. The kitchen clearly takes pride in what they do — the food was absolutely spot-on, full of flavour and beautifully presented. Great value for the quality, portion size, and service we received. From start to finish, everything ran smoothly, and the staff made us feel welcome and well looked after. A lovely spot for a meal in the New Forest — we’ll definitely be back!

Well what a lovely place. Staff friendly and welcoming. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Nicely decorated place. Was very busy. Reasonably priced. Had cocktails which were good. We had food, I ordered Crab burger which for me didn't work but did try. My partner had a burger which he said was good. This is situated in Brockenhurst on the main road between Lyndhurst and Lymington. Definitely would recommend and go again

We only had food and drinks here. What we had was tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. The darts and shuffleboard were a real hit with my sons and the pub was very dog friendly. The outside bar was also really convenient.

Came here with family whilst staying in Brockenhurst. The staff were very friendly from when we arrived. Got us water for the table without us having to ask. When food was coming out our server went past a couple of times and looked to make sure all had arrived. He noticed 2 were not with the others and was going to chase as the remaining dishes came. The service was quick smooth and we were not rushed at any point. Our server Joshua was great through the whole night. Highly recommend coming here. Will hopefully return before going back home. At busy times would recommend booking so as to avoid disappointment. At the end of our holiday we decided to come here for breakfast. Didn't disappoint. Would highly recommend coming for any meal time they are open. Staff all friendly and helped book when they website messed up.
B — Google review
Lovely atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff. Our roast dinners were tasty but served on cold plates which made food cold. Dish of horseradish sauce was cracked and contained a hair which was off-putting. Staff were apologetic and did offer us a discounted bill to compensate.

Nestled in the picturesque village of Minstead, The Trusty Servant Inn seamlessly blends 19th-century charm with a modern twist, featuring framed prints and rustic wooden tables. This delightful inn is perfectly situated for exploring the stunning New Forest National Park and is just a short drive from family-friendly attractions like Paultons Family Theme Park. Guests can unwind in the inviting garden or enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi throughout their stay.
We organised a birthday meal for 14 people last Saturday lunchtime at the Trusty Servant. Communication was great from the time of booking and on the actually day we could not fault it. The food was great, everyone enjoyed it. Above all the service level and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was absolutely brilliant. All the team were super helpful and accommodating. The pub is in a great location and there were ponies and pigs right outside on the village green. Would definitely recommend.

Visited 11th September 2025 for lunch and was not disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. Being a vegetarian, there was a good selection to choose from. Ordered the spring vegetable burger, (don't normally pick a veggie burger), very flavoursome, you could see the different vegetables rather than just mush that you tend to get in other places, followed by a very generous and gorgeous white chocolate cheesecake. Very reasonably priced for such delicious food. Will definitely be returning when next visiting the New Forest.

What a brilliant find this was! Refreshing to find a really country pub selling great honest food at a very reasonable price. The staff were great and made everybody feel at home even when it was maxed out on a bank holiday Sunday. Roast dinner was spot on 👌

We stayed for two nights for peppa pig world the food was absolutely amazing so much choice but on the pricey side.. also the drink prices over 3 pounds for a fruit shoot and 13 pounds for a large wine ?! The rooms were lovely with the best breakfast included , the location is so peaceful and quiet. The rooms were cleaned which was amazing for a short duration. The bed was super comfy too! I would return but will bring my own fruit shoots and wine haha Food pictures included

Fantastic pub! Delicious food – my fish was super tasty, and the desserts were out of this world. Lovely staff and very pet-friendly – we’ll definitely be back!

Nice place, but the worst fish finger sandwich ever! When we told staff they said oh sorry but that was that. We won't return sadly and if you're after a proper fish finger sandwich, don't order it here.

Located in a very pretty setting, it's a large hostelry. Dog friendly. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and priced slightly on the warm side of average. Too far to walk to from anywhere populated, so if you're thinking of getting tipsie, arrange for taxi or a good friend to ferry you there and back again.

Restaurant
The Drift Pub & Restaurant is a charming country pub and bar that offers hearty, locally sourced meals in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Situated near Beaulieu Inn, it is a favorite spot for families and their pets, featuring a kids' play area and gardens. The menu boasts an array of options made from local and seasonal produce, including light choices from the Kitchen Table and a delightful breakfast special.
We booked a table online the day before and were seated immediately on arrival. The waiting staff were very professional and friendly. The food was excellent and I asked if their ice cream was gluten-free at all (as its not marked as such on their menu) and they checked with the chef who confirmed the vanilla and chocolate ice creams were gluten-free, so I even managed to have desert today as well as a starter and mains. (I am coeliac). We ate on 28th December so at the moment they are still serving their Christmas menu. Can 100% recommend this NewForest pub, they may not have the most gluten-free options (and I would advise to check online or call them to discuss beforehand if you're anywhere on the fussy eater scale like I am) but they food they do have is seriously delicious and worth eating! They're dog friendly too and we took our lurcher with us.

Stopped here on the way back from Scouting Event at Ferny Croft (across the road). I have to say, I'm sorry I didn't know about this hidden gem before. The restraunt is beautiful but on a sunny bank holiday we sat in the garden. Lots of places to sit and the tables are well spaced out. Very different to the packed in feeling of most pub gardens. Very relaxed feeling. There is a lovely children's play area with smaller section for tots and a bouncy castle too. I think my 6 year old would have stayed all day given the choice. The menu is varied enough to cater to most people and the addition of the Barrel and Stone pizzas is fantastic. From an allergy view point, many items are available with gluten and vegan options and the rarity of gluten and dairy free. The kids meals are of a decent size and the starter soup of the day was huge. Food tasted great and was a reasonable price especially given the location. It dog (and wellies) friendly here too which is great when coming in from a forest walk. Staff were really polite and knowledgeable and the service was great. Free WiFi throughout The place is wheelchair accessible and has decent accessible toilets too but there are some gravel areas to the outside. Unfortunately the outdoor tables wouldn't be easily accessed by a wheelchair as the benches aren't removable. We didn't have the wheelchair with us so didnt pursue further and they may have a solution Looking forward to coming back soon to try sunday lunch.

Kind, generous and friendly people. We stopped last week while exploring the New Forest and seeing the local roaming horses, on the hottest day possible. We sat inside, and had a great meal and drink. The young lady behind the bar, made our day with a first anniversary surprise. Great service, polite, friendly, a great pub.

We booked a birthday lunch over the phone for 7 people 2 of whom were children and one 91 year old for her birthday. Booked Drift Inn for 2pm. We asked if the whole menu was available and we're assured it was. On arrival, the table was not ready, it was not busy, and there was only a limited Sunday menu. We gave one of the staff the birthday cake and we had balloons on the table brought in by us. The food was okay, and was able to accommodate dietary requirements. What let the lunch down was the customer service and general awareness of our needs. Once the mains were done no dessert menu or coffees were offered and the cake, well, we never bothered as there was no indication of, would you like us to bring out the cake. We even provided candles and matches. Very disappointing and we were never even asked if everything was okay. It felt like staff were just going through the motions. So, customer service not great and we paid a fair amount of money for that privilege.

Came here for dinner with my family a week and a half ago, ordered four meals and a sharing plate. When the food arrived there was no sharing plate. Apparently they hadn't put it on the order, when we asked why we had still been charged approximately what we expected, they told us they had added on a service charge. It does say this on the menu but it's in text so small that you could very easily miss it in a dimly lit pub. It's worth noting that for this service charge, we had to get up and walk over to somebody to order. We had to find someone to request cutlery after the food arrived since they had forgotten and we had to get up to order drinks at the bar. The food itself was not great, it was the sort of food I'd expect from Wetherspoons, only twice as expensive and half the size. It was way too expensive for what we actually received. The biggest issue, however, was following the meal when we ordered some coffees. It's worth mentioning that there was only one other table in the restaurant at this point in the evening. Somehow, after 30 minutes of waiting, the coffees hadn't arrived so we asked to cancel them and have a refund instead. We were told that the only way to get a refund is to fill out a form, give them all sorts of details (Name, address, bank card details, etc) and they would put those details into some system later to give us a refund. They said there was no possible way to simply refund the payment to the card, like every other shop/restaurant can. Anyway, this all took place a week and a half ago and there's still been no refund. When I chased it up, I was told that it takes them 5-7 days for them to initiate the refund AND THEN 5-7 days for the bank to actually send the money back. This place used to be quite nice about 5 years ago but now it just feels like I'm being scammed. They shouldn't need me to fill out an invasive form to receive a refund for some coffees I'd paid for 30 minutes earlier. Come here if you're somebody who doesn't care if you receive your order, if you don't care if you have any cutlery to eat it with, if you don't care about the quality if it actually does arrive, and if you're not bothered about getting a refund after your order fails to show up.

Went for sunday roast. Beef was good, pork was quite bad. Dry and stiff as a log. Potatoes were too salty and hard (probably been there for a long time). You feel a bit disgusted at the end of the meal and you can't pinpoint one specific culprit. Location is obviously cool, but you have no view of the outside, so what's the point...Overall food too pricey.
Riccardo R — Google review
After a lovely two hour walk locally, hoped to finish with a drink in the pub. Very quiet as was around midday. Waited 15 minutes at the bar during which time three separate members of staff told me they either didn’t serve drinks or that somebody else would serve me shortly. Gave up in the end. Much better pubs in the New Forest available than this one.
David H — Google review
Despite informing staff we were dining with a child with an egg allergy, checking the allergy information and double checking we were ordering a kid’s meal that was egg free, the kitchen staff ignored this critical information provided by the serving staff and served the burger on a different (brioche) bun, exposing my son to egg. Serving staff were young and inexperienced and didn’t understand the seriousness of the incident. No apology from the kitchen staff either. I’ll be making a complaint to trading standards/council when I return. Allergy information needs to be taken much more seriously.

The Old Station Tea Rooms, Holmsley, is a charming spot that offers a delightful experience for families and cyclists. Located along the Castlemans Corkscrew cycle route, this former railway station now serves as a pit stop for those exploring the area on two wheels. Families can enjoy a family-friendly menu while their energetic doggos can join in on the cycling adventure. The tearooms also feature an array of memorabilia and offer freshly cooked meals including vegetarian and vegan options.
Went for an early morning breakfast after a local walk. Pretty and quaint interior with lots of photos of the old station when it had trains. Breakfast was very good and freshly cooked and we didn't have to wait at all. Cake selection at the counter looked great especially the lemon meringue tart and the fruit tarts so will have to back soon to try those

Like other reviewers we enjoyed our visit. Very popular in summer with New Forest visitors and dog friendly. Very nice people, they are attentive and welcoming. Varied menu to suit all tastes with good vegetarian and vegan options, and of course excellent bacon sandwiches! Came back for another lunch and had the Station Master Welsh Rarebit. A real treat, the menu said a slice of ham hidden underneath and I guess you would expect the thin supermarket stuff but what I got was a thick hand cut wedge of juicy baked ham , just outstandingly delicious!

an old station of the former railway is now a wonderful tea room and pitstop in the New Forest. Excellent array of cakes and savoury .Staff friendly and welcoming with prompt service. Worth a visit if in the area. I would reserve for large tables so they know to expect.

Me and my wife went there for breakfast on a Sunday morning before we went for a local walk in the forest. The full English breakfast was high quality and reasonably priced for the lovely produce. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the station setting was awesome. We will definitely come back when we return to the New Forest.

Fantastic place for lunch. We've eaten here several times over the years as a family. Good quality food, at a reasonable price, served with a smile. The cakes and pastries are worth a visit alone, particularly the rather excellent Lemon Meringue pie. Decent coffee! Dog friendly as long as you're sitting outdoors, not quite sure if they're allowed inside. Ample parking, although sometimes it's very busy so can be hard to find a spot, ditto for getting a table, but you can make a reservation on their website.

Monty's Inn is a charming and acclaimed restaurant located in the well-heeled village of Beaulieu, offering luxury rooms with complimentary full breakfast. The inn is known for its delicious Sunday Roast Dinners and tempting options for the whole family. Guests can enjoy classic English favorites such as homemade scotch eggs, game pies, and British cheese ploughman's, all made with carefully sourced ingredients.
Very quiet on a weekday lunchtime. Very dog friendly in the bar and restaurant, we chose the comfortable bar. The dog biscuits went down very well with our furry friend. Flacks beers and Somerly cider were very nice. Haddock and chips was possibly the finest fish I've had, truly crispy beer batter and a lovely piece of fish. The full Monty burger was very good too.

Such a cosy place in this sweet town! We managed to order a few minutes before the kitchen was about to close and the portions were extremely generous! Fresh and tasty cod with an amazing tartare sauce highly recommended!

Good beer and an excellent wine menu make for a good start. The food was comforting and delicious; simple and wholesome but well executed. The staff were friendly and prompt. But be aware that their food service isn't all day - I think they only serve lunch until 1430 for instance and we only just arrived in time. The decor was light and had the ceiling been higher I might even have called it airy, but something about the place felt bleak, and I don't think it was just because we were the only people in there.
Alex H — Google review
It's been at least a couple of years since mum and I visited Monty's, which is part of Montague Hotel and Restaurant, Beaulieu. At that time there was a bar menu and we each had a sandwich and a pint, the place was lively and we enjoyed ourselves despite noisy children. Our return visit was awful. We walked into the bar area and no staff (the barman was changing a barrel but this wasn't relayed to us when I went to the restaurant side to find a member of staff). Lifeless and souless. The customers comprised a family with a noisy barking dog who thankfully left and a chap sat by the fire. I asked for a bar menu and the reply was "we don't have one but we have a restaurant menu". I scanned it and thought at nearly £30 per dish for a main course....no thank you. I went back to the bar area and mum spotted that there was 'soup of the day' being advertised which was being served with a toastie (mum would have the soup and I would have the toasty). I then ordered 2 halfs of Flack Manor's Romsey Gold. I set up a tab and the 2 halfs came to £7... you do the per-pint maths. Far too expensive, even by London prices and this is only 4% ABV. Even Molson Coors Blue Moon 5.4% is only £6.80 in establishments near to this place, and is of far superior quality. The few (and young) staff present needed more experience in working in a bar and being able to offer banter with customers and the lack of any atmosphere caused me to cancelled our food order, pay for our drinks and leave. It was the first time I have ever cancelled a food order in my life. I'm unsure who owns this place and whether it is part of Lord Montague's empire. If you're wanting an up-market meal then yes, this would be perfect, eating in the restaurant. But for what should be a lively bar with its own menu then please don't bother. You will be disappointed. This place has so much potential but is desperately lacking personality. Maybe it relies to much on its location, the seasonal tourists and the fact that there is no other bar in the village. Running a bar with hotel and restaurant staff doesn't work.
L T — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed dinner here. The staff were fantastic - friendly, helpful, just the right level of attentive. The food was great - huge fish and chips! Properly dog-friendly too - dog bed set up ready for her, along with complimentary treats on a plate for her. Love their 'a la bark' menu, too.

Disappointing experience — poor service and unwelcoming attitude We had high hopes for our lunch at The Monty, having booked well in advance for a relaxed family meal. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. Despite the early booking, we were offered a table right in front of the bathroom door, with no alternative suggested. We asked to sit outside instead, but the table there was unclean and covered in cigarette ashes. Still, it felt like the better option — even if it meant eating next to a busy road. We ordered promptly: wine, a shared starter, and mains for both children and adults (burgers and fish & chips). While the drinks and starter arrived fairly quickly, we then waited 45 minutes for the main courses, with no update or explanation. After asking twice — and only after mentioning we might leave — the food finally arrived. It was decent, but by then the tone of the meal had shifted. When I politely asked why the delay, the staff member responded with defensiveness and attitude. I was told the wait was “perfectly normal,” then that there was only one chef for two kitchens, and finally — quite unbelievably — that it was our fault for ordering a starter. I was also made to feel as if we were complaining to avoid paying, which was frankly inappropriate. We were told the drinks would be removed from the bill, but only the service charge was waived, with no clear explanation. The food was acceptable, but the poor service, lack of basic hospitality, and unpleasant attitude left a sour impression. We will not be returning.
Margaux — Google review
Inexplicably cold and tasteless Sunday roast in a sparsely decorated cavernous room devoid of character or atmosphere. Staff seemed to try but this is one to avoid, particularly at £30 for a main course. No doubt summer tourists fall prey to the surroundings but there is a poor offering considering what it could be with some effort and enthusiasm. Better alternatives can be found nearby.

Staff were having a bad day manged to mix all the orders up and forgot our drinks order for 3 people. Would not be going back in a hurry.

Fancied an onion soup in the UK for a while now, this one did not disappoint! We've had a soup and king prawns for starters, monkfish tail and lamb chops for mains and shared a Pavlova for dessert. The soup was exceptional, lamp chops were tender, monkfish came with a delicious sauce! It was a great dinner, lovely night and I do recommend this place, especially the soup and the monkfish with its fantastic sauce!

We paid in full in cash. Try charge us again through the room ! Asked for small 125ml wine. Accidentally gave a large. Just be careful make you sure you have recipes ready for reception ( not small square one they try con you with) apart from that food was ten out of 10 excellent and beautiful inside.

We had a lovely dinner for two despite having to make a last minute booking. The staff were wonderful and welcoming. I had a goats cheese starter which was really superb and my husband had swordfish steak which he's never eaten before and it was out of this world.

Service was very attentive and nothing wrong with the food, but it was nothing exceptional, apart from the French bread & butter😀 (that they charge extra for!). Great wine list though and some nice half bottles.

Had a wonderful spa break here with my mum for my 21st birthday and they gave us such a warm welcome and made me feel so special for my birthday. Staff attention to detail and attentiveness with hotel guests was amazing. The new spa facilities were also incredible. The best spa my mum and I have ever been to. We went on a Wednesday-Thursday and there was no one else using the facilities when we were there. Bliss! Spa staff were lovely too and treatments they gave were gorgeous. Thank you so much and we hope to be back again.

My friend and I came for an overnight spa break last weekend and from the moment we entered and until we left we were blown away with the whole experience. The hotel is lovely , the staff so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble, also the food was excellent! The spa was so relaxing and Claudia was so lovely with our questions , she along with Hollie gave us the best massages ever! A special shout out to Tom on reception, very professional, answered all our questions and queries and made everything effortless. We will be back!

Came back to New Forest for weekend. When I was younger and growing up In the New forest always passed here. We were staying at Hollands Wood campsite next door 5 - 10 minutes walk. This building has always appealed to me. My expectations were what I expected when went in and it was lovely. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Reasonably priced. Lovely looking out to Cricket pitch and always seeing the ponies. We had a lovely afternoon sat outside. Plenty of seating inside and outside. And really lovely views. We did want food and asked waitress for Menu but she forgot in space of 2 minutes and this only part let us down. Rest of afternoon was lovely. The hotel inside is beautifully decorated and worth visiting. They do High-tea which looked really nice. To sit and appreciate the New forest in a lovely setting was exactly what I needed and made me realise even more how much miss home. I would definitely recommend here and be going again..

We had the wedding of our dreams! Everything was absolutely perfect - the gorgeous venue, the delicious food, and most of all, the amazing team who made us and our guests feel so welcome. So many of our friends and family commented on how fantastic the service was. The staff really went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and because of that, we got to relax and truly enjoy every moment.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service throughout. The food was really nice, both at breakfast and dinner, with plenty of delicious options. I’d asked to be put in a higher room, and they made sure that happened, which I appreciated. The location is lovely and made the whole trip even better. They also accommodated my last-minute changes, like moving my spa treatment, without any fuss - which is great by the way. Highly recommend.

Took my parents to Balmer Lawn for Afternoon Tea here. It is the only time I have visited and quite happily say that we will be back. Afternoon Tea was lovely. We couldn't finish it all and we were able to take the leftover cakes home with us. Unfortunately there was no photos taken as we jumped into the food. Decor was lovely. Staff were extremely attentive and polite.

We visited for a spa day. The spa seems to have been done recently, it was lovely, clean and quiet. We also had access to their indoor and outdoor pool. The jacuzzi is small and can only comfortably hold two people and there was two people hogging it all day so we never got to use that. However it was a warm day so we spent most of our day laying by the outside pool. They have a QR code you can use to order drinks to the pool which was handy, however it didn’t seem like anyone was working on it at the start of the day as it took 45 minutes to get a cup of tea and a pint of Pepsi. Also, I ordered a pot of tea but they don’t allow china by pool so I only got a paper cup of tea - felt a bit of a rip off at £4 for a small paper cup of tea. They started getting better at being on top of the QR orders as the day went on. We also ordered a pizza take away but after ordering they told us we couldn’t get it by the pool, even though other staff said we could so some confusion there. Apart from this we had a lovely visit and would highly recommend on a sunny day

Nestled on an 8-acre estate, Burley Manor is a former royal manor offering a luxurious countryside retreat in Dorset and the New Forest. Guests can cozy up by the log fires and enjoy sightings of local deer while savoring high-end Mediterranean dining. The grand entrance hall welcomes visitors with a warm ambiance, perfect for relaxing in the lovely lounges or conservatory dining areas.
We visited Burley Manor for Sunday lunch and absolutely loved it! The prices were really reasonable for the quality, and the atmosphere was so cosy and welcoming. There was a large wedding and a big table dining at the same time, yet Alice, who looked after us, was absolutely fabulous. She was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout. The cheese soufflé was amazing, and both roasts were delicious. I had the pork and my mum had the lamb, and we couldn’t fault either. Perfect Sunday lunch spot, thank you for having us !!

Overall we had a great stay at Burley Manor!! The location is absolutely perfect to explore the New Forest whilst being in a relaxing and peaceful environment (especially with the deer so close). We were in a garden suite which was a little smaller/more tired than the website photo, but was still very nice, and lovely to have the access straight onto the lawn/pool area. The weather was great while we were there so the pool was amazing to use with nice loungers and deckchairs too! We ate at the restaurant for dinner which was really nice, and breakfast (I would recommend trying to eat not in the conservatory because the wasps were terrible). The service was all super friendly as well!

Spent a relaxing long weekend at Burley Manor. Beautiful surroundings in the picturesque village of Burley, great location with the sounds of the New Forest all around. The period property is well maintained, my room was on the top floor with stunning views over the deer park. The food and drinks were great quality and value. Booked in for breakfast at 7.30, very quiet at that time off day with a great selection of breakfast fare. The gardens are extensive with lots of places to relax. Pool is a gorgeous spot too but didn't brave the unheated pool. The staff were very attentive and professional, made my stay very pleasant. Looking forward to returning soon.

I recently attended a wedding at Burley Manor and had a truly lovely experience. The venue is absolutely stunning—set in beautiful surroundings that create the perfect backdrop for a special day. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere throughout the event was warm and relaxed. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Owen, who really stood out for his friendlies and attentiveness. Everything on the day itself ran smoothly, and you could tell a lot of care had gone into making it all feel seamless. A couple of small pointers: during the setup the day before, there didn’t seem to be any managerial presence, which didn’t feel entirely fair on the other staff left to coordinate things. Also, the bridal suite could benefit from a few more practical touches—like some proper hanging space for dresses and outfits. That said, these were minor issues in what was otherwise a beautiful and memorable event. Burley Manor is a fantastic setting for a wedding, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone planning a celebration in the area.

We stayed a night in October as part of a package including dinner, drink and breakfast. The staff were fantastic at every point and very accommodating. We were placed in a room on the 1st floor and it was very thoughtful to have a gift pack for our dog in the room, which shows how dog friendly the hotel is. The room was getting a little tired, with a blind that didn't go back up and some flaking paint, but much to be expected in an old hotel. Good teas and coffee were provided. The best part is of course the manicured gardens, with deer and snuffling pigs roaming the grounds. The three-course meal options for dinner were excellent, including plenty of veggie options. The warm brioche bread with garlic and onion butter was an easy 10/10, alongside the sage and butternut squash gnocchi. Sadly the starters were not very exciting and the same with the macaroni cheese. The gin and wine recommendations were spot on and we appreciated the Hotel Manager's suggestions. The night's sleep was decent, although if you are near the stairway, you do hear a fair bit of passing traffic. Despite there being a wedding party at the hotel, we couldn't hear anything. Breakfast was included and had a good selection - both hot and cold. It was great to be able to bring your dog with you (in the conservatory). Would recommend if you are in the New Forest as a couple seeking somewhere special to stay.

Lovely place to stay. Right next to a deer park, with lovely views across the countryside. Rooms are spacious, comfortable furniture and Cody bed. Staff are all friendly, courteous and helpful. Good selection of excellent food. Short walk from the Manor into Burley, where you'll find quirky shops selling witches potions and spells
Gerry B — Google review
As a period building it was beautiful, with grounds to match( except the outdoor pool which looked extremely neglected, even if it was towards the end of the year). My wife and I attended our nephews wedding, which in the main seemed to run smoothly to us. Sadly it felt a little understaffed, especially when there was only one young lady serving at the bar in the barn where the function was being held and many guests waiting to be served. The two rather fat rats we saw, did not set off a great impression either as they scurried around the back area searching scraps to eat, clearly hygiene and pest control could do with a review. The most unfortunate part of the whole day though was when one of the young gentlemen, who was worse for wear from his evening drinking was being asked to leave the premises by the manager due to his unacceptable behaviour. I personally felt the manager was well within his rights as the young man was presenting himself in a very aggressive manner. As a more mature member of the group and a teatotal chap my entire life, it felt very uncomfortable to be spoken to by the manager the way he did, his approach was quite standoffish and unprofessional. As I was attempting to assist him in guiding the young man away from the premises he felt it necessary to hang around very close by and pressure the situation with hurrying me along, he also felt it was important to remind me that he didn’t want the bride and grooms event to be ruined. A little thoughtless when I’d already told him the groom was my nephew. Eventually I removed myself from the problem as the young drunk was threatening me with violence and using rather unpleasant language, it was also at this point another sober guest, who was more acquainted to the young man took over. If I could offer any advise to this chap as to how he runs his hotel and interacts with guests, read the situation a little better, if someone is offering assistance in a tricky situation, take on board if they say they are stone cold sober, perhaps give your staff better training to know when to stop selling alcohol to guests who have clearly had to much instead of just hearing the pounds dropping in the till. Would I recommend Burley manor for a venue to hold an event? sadly, at this time, no. This is only based on my experience with the manager, who is fully responsible for the whole thing and the buck stops at him I’m afraid. I look forward to his feedback and apology, if he can recognise and take responsibility for his lack of skills in a matter which didn’t need to go the way it did.
Chris H — Google review
Super location in beautiful grounds with deer, stars, pigs and horses all roaming around. The service was excellent, the food seriously delicious and the rooms spacious with wonderful views of the grounds. The only issue was the bathroom and showers which weren't powerful. We are used to power showers of moderate intensity and these were weak. Opted for a bath but it took ages to fill as there wasnt any power through the taps either. No bubble bath provided. The reception did offer to help with the shower but we were only staying the one night. But the two double rooms we booked both had issues with the shower being weak. That's why we haven't given 5 stars but its such a beautiful place that we will be back. Lovely touches in the room too.

Lovely little farm , cafe and farm shop . Very knowledgeable staff member on the farm who was very passionate about the rescued animals . Told us all about them and let us pet the guinea pigs. Thank you , you made a 4 Yr olds day ! We ate breakfast in the cafe and it was absolutely delicious. Staff all lovely and patient . The farm shop well stocked with local produced items and a butcher serving us. All staff helpful and friendly.

We had such a wonderful experience at this farm shop! From the moment we arrived it felt so welcoming – really family-friendly and even dog-friendly, which made it easy for all of us to relax and enjoy ourselves. The breakfast was absolutely top quality, beautifully cooked and full of flavour – one of the best we’ve had in a long time. What really stood out though was the staff. They were genuinely lovely and took the time to make our visit extra special, even letting my daughter stroke one of the guinea pigs, which made her day. It’s clear they truly care about their visitors. There’s so much more here than just a farm shop – it’s a whole experience, with great food, friendly faces, and lots to see and do. We’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it to families, foodies, and anyone looking for a warm and enjoyable place to visit.

This is a great place with farm animals, shop, cafe and aviary so a good place for families. The cafe food was good quality and very fresh and great cakes and cream teas. The Veggie breakfast is also very good. Shop had plenty of things to help stock up whether you are a local or on holiday. Also the farm animals are great to watch

Absolutely perfect cream tea here today! Cakes were fabulous and the cheese scone savoury tea was out of this world. Georgie was very accommodating and made sure our elderly friend had a sausage and egg bap even though it was very near time to stopping hot food. The farm shop and animals are also lovely. A perfect sunny afternoon. Thankyou so much Georgie and the team we will definitely be returning.

Our Daughter had visited the week before we went and recommended this place to eat as one of us were vegan and it was an easy access for myself being on two walking sticks. Absolutely delicious food, nothing was too much trouble. The food was piping hot and there was so much of it. The chef didn’t mind checking that the food was vegan and cooked it separately as well. I had granary toast and a bowl of baked beans. The menu was varied and catered for everyone. The cakes were homemade and looked scrumptious, not little slices either. The Ladies who served us were kind and respectful. There was a basket of extra cushions and blankets should you need them. The cafe was dog friendly and there were healthy dog snacks you could purchase. I would recommend this venue highly and would go back in the summer to have the opportunity to eat outside. In the complex there was also a small petting farm, some shops there was literally something for everyone there. We have family friends who live close by and they visit often with their grandchildren. It’s a delightful friendly place worth a visit.

We grabbed breakfast and the food was delicious, fresh, tasty locally produced food and good portions. The coffee hit the spot too. The staff were super friendly and happy to chat, and we loved wandering around to see the animals. It’s just a really nice spot to relax, eat well, and enjoy the atmosphere. Nestled among the trees of New Forest, Cambium is a British restaurant at Careys Manor Hotel that draws inspiration from nature. The name reflects its connection to the local area and its commitment to showcasing seasonal ingredients. The head chef's innovative menu focuses on regional produce, some of which comes from their own kitchen garden. In addition to Cambium, the hotel offers two other dining options: Le Blaireau with French cuisine and Zen Garden serving authentic Thai dishes.
Best British cuisine I’ve tasted! Everything was excellent from the fresh ingredients, the flavours of the dishes, and the chateaubriand was definitely a show-stopping dish! Perfect sized portion for 2 diners. The service we received from the young lady and gentleman also made our night a great dining experience! All the food was well-priced for the quality and care put into every dish. Will definitely be returning here :)

Lovely choice from the continental buffet and the cereals was great. The coffee on the first morning was great but very strong and bitter the second day. The eggs benedict and eggs hemming way were amazing but the buffet hot breakfast was a bit tasteless unfortunately.
Lee — Google review
Wonderful attentive staff, 3 of the four courses were divine, was let down by the king prawn and crab cocktail, slicing a king prawn in half, and couldn't see or taste the crab meat. Beautiful setting but not a lot of atmosphere sadly. And be careful with the request for non alcoholic drink requests. That could have been tricky. Thanks for a wonderful evening 😊

Priced like a fancy restaurant. We had the tasting menu, all ok dishes but nothing with wow factor, tastes all melded into one with dishes tasting pretty much the same. The wine selection wasn't too bad though.

I was expecting better for a 2 rosette restaurant, having visited a number of others. Perhaps I set my expectations too high. The starter and main were a little above average, not amazing, expected more. On a positive note though the servers were brilliant and attentive. The espresso martini pannacotta dessert was a 10/10 also.

Nestled in the picturesque village of Brockenhurst, Thatched Cottage Hotel offers a charming stay in a 1627 thatched cottage and annexe. The hotel provides a mix of historic and contemporary rooms and suites, all equipped with modern amenities. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi, breakfast at the coffee shop/cafe, and access to a terrace and garden with bicycle rentals available.
If you want a quaint, cozy, thatched roof cottage experience this place is for you. The building itself looks so sweet and the room inside was heaven on a rainy day. I have a very sensitive nose and was concerned about the possibility of mustiness given the age of the property, but I have to say this is one of the most lovingly kept and cleanly historic properties I’ve ever stayed out. No mustiness or smell of damp and the bathroom was immaculate. The water pressure in the shower was unreal… the exact kind of shower you dream of after a long day of walking. The full English breakfast served in the tea room for breakfast was wonderful as well. Generous, hearty portion served with a great cup of tea. What more could you want? Edit to add: this place clearly is cared for by people that take pride in their work. It’s not flashy or glamorous but it is absolutely kept with love.

Our second stay here and it did not disappoint. Room was lovely and quirky reflecting the age and character of the cottage - loved waking up to the sound of birds just outside the window. Breakfast was wonderful, delicious eggs royal and my hubby enjoyed the cooked breakfast. Loved the small touches such as a jar of shortbread in the room with the tea tray which tasted amazing. Perfect location to stay over after our celebration meal at The Pig and the staff were lovely and friendly too. Thank you!

***Update to my review after hotel's reply*** The breakfast menu given included a few options, but for example, one item I saw in the main menu (browsing out of curiosity), was not in the guest's breakfast menu. The option to have examples like this would be good, if possible. In addition, nobody at all told us we could have as much as we want - communication is key. The standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the room was very poor. Please don't tell me you have professional cleaners, as when we arrived (around 1 pm), the room was ready. It had just been cleaned by a very nice lady, however her equipment seemed little more than that suitable for a small flat. I believe that with an 11 am check-out time (12 pm is standard) and a 3 pm check-out time, there would be room for improvement. Based on the fact there were several power cuts throughout the first day and night we were there, along with all the noise (as mentioned by other guests), we were just beyond drained due to lack of sleep. The bed also made us feel antsy. I have attached some photos to make the hotel understand reality, as it seems they do not wish to accept and improve on feedback, just use adjectives to show how they or their staff feel. Hospitality is a service/experience, not a competition to see how many compliments you get. At the rate charged, I do not expect issues like cleanliness to occur. All it seems the owner says on reviews is, "You should have mentioned it." - no, I disagree. This is hospitality 101, and at that price I expect better standards. ***Original review*** Great location by train station, nice base for exploring. Food good, nice breakfast, but selection limited when compared to full menu. Would be good to be able to choose a cheaper dish from the full menu if you wanted to. Building is very, very old, which is nice for aesthetics, but in reality there is noise everywhere - doors, talking, banging, creaking - impossible to sleep properly. Room was not clean at all - cobwebs, stains on furniture, fan full of dust. Again, as building is old, need to beware of low ceiling - in the middle of the night I got out of bed and cut my head on a beam. I'm sure there must be a better way of reducing these kinds of incidents. Staff are nice enough, that's all. I felt like they just wanted us in and out as quickly as possible.

Food looked good but got fed up with the service. Only wanted to buy a couple of fruit scones but one person serving who kept saying sorry and running around. The older person just didn’t seem to care about the queue. Lost business as the two young people behind me gave up before I did. Only 2 stars because the scones looked good.

Delicious pastries at lunch time today. Covid measures in place. Friendly staff and lovely pastries. I had the vegan Mexican bean pasty and my husband had the extra large pasty. quick friendly service. They were very apologetic that we couldn't use their toilet and directed me to the public toilets to use. Would highly recommend popping in for a bite or getting some to take away. The sweet bakes looked amazing but we were stuffed after our savouries. They're taking part in 'eat out to help out' scheme so it was an absolute bargain for the delights that we had!

£7.20 for an iced dinosaur biscuit (£2.60!!!), iced finger bun and cream slice… double the price of the average bakery. Not having any prices displayed trapped us otherwise I would not have purchased! I went back in to check I hadn’t been overcharged. Also not a fan of the owners responses to the negative reviews - says a lot :/

Great selection of cakes and pasties and lovely customer services. We only had cakes to takeaway. The bread and butter pudding was nice as well as the coffee meringue but the coffee and walnut cake we don’t believe wasn’t made made locally i.e production line made - it was very dry and very hard to swallow, so would not recommend the latter. Would recommend a visit but perhaps not the cakes that aren’t homemade!

We stopped off here as we were passing through. It’s a cozy looking pub and clean. The staff are really friendly and we were greeted straight away when arriving. The place was completely deserted when we arrived (around 14:30 on a Wednesday) and only a couple came in after us. We were seated and served straight away but be prepared for a wait for food as it’s cooked to order(I’ve seen others complain about the wait time but it’s expected). We had the Lamb Kofta from the specials board, this was quite tasty but it didn’t taste too much like lamb and the fries were rock solid. We also had the ‘Big N Bold’ burger. This was bland and needed some sort of sauce as the patty was dry. Oh and they are dog friendly. There’s adequate free parking and children are welcome.

We had a Sunday roast (pork belly and turkey roast) at the Bold Forester. The roast was large in portion size. The pork was tasty but the turkey lacked a bit of flavouring. Service was great and definitely loved the decor inside the restaurant side of the pub.
Kevin N — Google review
Unfortunately, hardly any veggie/vegan options which was very disappointing. We waited for 40 mins for our order in spite of the restaurant being empty, so thought initially they forgot our order. The fried cauliflower was sadly inedible as it had no flavour and the stem was too hard to bite through; the celeriac steak was ok, but the peppercorn sauce was way too salty. The steak pie looked better than it tasted. 🙁 Having said that, chunky chips were perfect and so was the mashed potatoes… I’d say they need to expand their menu to cater for plant-based diners. Cute & cosy pub, which we’ve been to before and thought it was great, so a little disappointing this time.

Lovely Sunday roast and great service as always they also cater and provide plenty of gluten free options.
Sophie E — Google review
First time here in about 10 years was really surprised with the updated menu decor and friendly staff. We both had confit of pork belly with savoy cabbage bacon mustard sauce and mash. Followed by vanilla cheese cake and sticky toffee pudding all fantastic will definitely be visiting again in the not to distant future next time.

Pop in as we were near by. Late afternoon mid week so not busy so service was good and the food was ad it should be fresh and hot.
Paul B — Google review
Nice location. Outside area was lovely with good provisions for pups. Good food menu but ordered sandwiches and to be blunt the bread was stale. Ended up picking apart. Rest of it was decent but please sort the bread out when I’m spending 16£ on a sandwich and chips.

Nestled within a charming stately home, Bartley Lodge Hotel offers a delightful blend of country-chic accommodations and modern amenities. Lovely hotel. Looks amazing. Room spacious and comfortable, nice and clean. Staff are polite and very helpful. Breakfast was cooked to perfection, ate in the restaurant both nights, food was delicious and well priced. Would definitely book to stay here again.
Sue H — Google review
We spent four nights at Bartley Lodge Hotel to celebrate my birthday weekend and had high hopes based on the hotel’s charming appearance and location. The building itself is gorgeous, with striking architecture and beautifully styled interiors that create a lovely first impression. The location is ideal too — close to stunning national parks and cozy pubs, making it a great base for families and dog owners alike. Our dinner at the hotel restaurant was, without a doubt, the highlight of our stay — absolutely delicious and easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience didn’t quite live up to that same standard. To start, we were told at check-in that bringing our dog would cost £60, which felt quite excessive. We had also forgotten our toothbrushes and toothpaste and tried to ask reception for some late in the evening. I waited for 26 minutes, but no staff ever appeared. Breakfast, while priced at nearly £17 per person, didn’t deliver on quality. The buffet often lacked basic condiments, and we found ourselves having to ask staff to refill things repeatedly. Trying to reach reception over the phone was difficult, and on one occasion when the water wasn’t working in our room, I had to go down in person — only to find no one around. The room itself was extremely warm, even with the fan running and the window open. When we chose to enjoy a drink outside in the garden, all the tables were dusty and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in some time. It also seemed like there weren’t enough staff available throughout the hotel. One final note — while it was nice that the hotel offered a welcome pack for our dog, some of the items, including the waste bags, were out of date. All in all, while the setting and dinner were memorable, the service and facilities really let the experience down. I would recommend visiting for a meal, but I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Bartley lodge Toilet waste paper bin full in public toilet on arrival off-putting Reception friendly and efficient So many lounges to choose from with comfortable seating Our room on ground floor number 40 well lit. Spacious, King size, very comfortable bed, one of the best hotel beds I've slept in. Heavy curtains keeps sun\early light out. Kettle, coffee, choice of teas, decaf and straight coffee. Old building no air con but two quiet fans supplied. Bathroom clean, fits with building style but not inadequate, over bath shower. Huge TV Goodness knows what the bad reviewers were seeing, but our experience was good. Evening meal was a fairly limited menu but local produce well cooked. Our server Sam was friendly and engaging but the service was desperately slow and hit and miss, ie. Kitchen forgot some veggies till meal was almost eaten. Some of the other servers were very slow and did not engage. a huge training need identified. But with some polish could be a great place to eat. The pool was open but we were told it was very cold so chose not to use. Disappointing

Stayed 2 nights for a wedding. Lovely venue for the most part, let down by tired decoration and furniture that was quite literally ‘on its last legs’. The staff here are exemplary and I have to give a special shout out to Sam who was working the bar who went above and beyond. He really is a credit to your team. Amber was also super happy and really made us feel welcome. Also noteworthy, I drive a car that is slightly lower than your average car with sports suspension, the access road leading to the hotel is extremely poor and could do with some immediate attention. My car really felt that poor access road. Overall not a bad stay, the staff really made it. Without them, I think I’d have been pretty annoyed at the price/quality difference.
CJ B — Google review
We booked a 2 night stay here and had an awful nights sleep on our first night as the bed was so hard it was like sleeping on the floor!! Moved to another room for our second night which had a more comfortable mattress however the bed was not in the greatest condition!!. We had dinner in the restaurant on our first night where the service was a little slow and the food was nice but very small portions and a little overpriced. Breakfast again was slow service for what was a simple cooked breakfast. Overall we found the hotel to be a little rundown and tatty for the price and won’t be staying again.
Suzie G — Google review
Only came for the evening but everyone was so welcoming. Had some drinks at the bar and the bartender, Sam could not have been more accommodating and really friendly and chatty. Easy on the eye too if I do say so. I will definitely be returning!
Bethany F — Google review
Wouldn’t recommend, definitely not 4 star, very run down hotel in need of work spent on it. Photos are from years ago so not up to date. Cleanliness not great, no small toiletries in bathroom such as hand soap. Lots of furniture items broken. Food not the best, expensive to stay and eat, despite quality not there. The breakfast was the worst full English I have had. We also had to change rooms as there was a massive dip in the mattress! We won’t stay here again, really disappointed my wife booked this for our wedding anniversary.

Guests can enjoy a family lunch in the dining room adjoining the conservatory, which provides a comfortable and well-appointed setting. Very charming hotel on the edge of the New Forest and walking distance to Brockenhurst High Street. Many lovely details, loved all the art on every wall. Feels clean and new. Enjoyed the free coffee as well. Highly recommended.

Where do I start. What a wonderful place to stay. Guy has done an outstanding job of redeveloping the building to a very high standard. We stayed 2 nights at The Cloud, with lovely breakfast served by Jess (sorry we kept you talking, but very easy to chat too). We spent the evenings in the lounge area which is very spacious. Its the little finishing touches that really made the stay feel special. Hoping to come back soon.

3 stunning days in the heart of the New Forrest. Horses and deer right opposite on the heath. Descent breakfast, great host. Lots of local amenities and pubs. What's not to like?
Graham H — Google review
We loved staying at this boutique hotel, literally on the edge of the New Forest. The rooms are spacious, super comfy beds and the decor very mod but welcoming. The breakfast was delicious - yogurt granola pots with fresh berries and memorable cinnamon rolls. There's a ton to do in the area with lots of walking either on the seaside or through the forest with wild ponies and donkeys. Lots of choice for dinner - pubs, restaurants in Brockenhurst.

Such a great place to stay in Brockenhurst, we will be back asap! Great breakfast, lovely staff and the owners were on hand for anything we needed. The location was beautiful, only a short walk to the village pubs and easy to drive to all parts of the New Forest.

**HIDDEN GEM** Located in the beautiful town of Brockenhurst, off the beaten track, looking straight out onto the New Forest. It’s just been renovated; we were their first guests. Nothing has been left to chance; it has been meticulously curated from the bathroom fittings to the artwork and line of wellies for all ages by the front door, ready for the guests to trample into the forest. The hotel has the luxurious, creative, yet homely feel of Soho House, without the price tag. There are no room keys or cards, everything is locked and unlocked with a secret pin code! So, there’s no fear you will lose your key, but do remember to keep your phone close to hand in case you need a reminder of your pin. Downstairs there is a stylish communal living area with books to read and games to play. You’ll also find a dining area with a gigantic communal banquet style table; a great place to chat to your fellow guests while enjoying your continental breakfast, served by the lovely Jess. You can also hire out the hotel exclusively, whether it’s for a large family celebration or a team building event. Check out their own events too - from wine tasting to foraging weekends. We have stayed in quite a few hotels in the New Forest now and this is definitely my new favourite - we will be back! We had a family room which had a king sized bed and a double sofa bed.

Rooms was amazing great decoration and facilities bathroom like 5 star hotel would have liked a fridge in the room and the breakfast although continental was disappointing but not really our thing but location and room was top notch.

Guests can indulge in beautifully designed country-chic rooms, enjoy a hearty hot breakfast, and unwind in the serene garden. Great weekend venue for a friends' get-together. Beautiful bedrooms & en-suites v high standard. Kitchen diner with massive table , well equipped. Good position just 5 min walk to centre of town but be aware it is on main through road so traffic can disturb. Really impressed by friendly & efficient communication with hosts . Would book through them again.

Amazing quality, great location, excellent communication from management. Road outside can be noisy as it's a main rout into Lyndhurst. But overall, this property is super - fully recommend.
Jonathan V — Google review
Spacious, luxurious house in the New Forest. Four large and very stylish double bedrooms and a fifth double smaller but still comfortable. Large very well equipped modern kitchen, lots of communal space and a great garden. Everything in the house felt brand new and well maintained. Spotlessly clean. It’s on a main road but there is no problem with road noise and directly opposite a good pub restaurant. We were a party of 14 for a weekend away to celebrate birthdays. The house was perfect; plenty of room for us all. Ample parking. Lots to do in the New Forest. Communication was excellent. Can’t fault the experience; strongly recommend Little Hayes. We will be back sometime!

Lovely and spacious house that everything we needed for our stay. Lovely big kitchen dining area for all the family. Loved our stay :) Also it was really good to have contact with someone throughout the stay to sort out any issues.

Fantastic place to stay for a large group of people. Even with kids, Top-notch decor and general feel of the house make it a very special stay. Kitchen is a great place for entertaining, and firepit (with logs provided!) is a welcome touch. Pubs and restaurants of Lyndhurst are literally a 3 minute walk away. Would definitely recommmend Little Hayes.
David M — Google review
Amazing luxury house a few minutes walk to the centre of Lyndhurst. I booked this house for 10 of us to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. Little Hayes delivered luxury on all levels - all rooms en-suite, beautifully appointed & every need provided for: kitchen well equipped to cater for the numbers, fire pit with logs & throws to cope with the English evenings etc. Book direct (New Forest homes) & get cheaper prices & extra add ones (early/late check out) for free.
Sophie C — Google review
We booked to stay at Little Hayes as an indie film crew, and it was absolutely perfect for our needs. While we didn't film on the premises, this charming property gave us the ideal environment to meet, rest, and celebrate some of our team's birthdays. It also has ample parking space for a few cars. The space is decorated with a lot of taste that filled every nook and cranny of the house. It oozed charm and character, with a warm atmosphere that instantly put us at ease. The unique and artistic touches in the interior design made this place stand out as a special find! One of the nicest things was its open space. As a large film crew, we needed room to congregate, unwind, and work. The spacious common areas were perfect for our gatherings, team meetings, and the birthday celebrations we had planned. The outdoor area also had a serene backdrop and we were able to enjoy the surroundings and fresh air. The fact that all the bedrooms were en suite was a big win for us. It meant that everyone had their own private space to relax and recharge. The sleeping arrangements were absolutely top-notch, with big comfortable beds that made for a restful sleep for all. The host was incredibly accommodating and responsive to our needs throughout our stay. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything required for a memorable and stress-free stay. The process of checking in and out was easy and smooth. We left with great memories, photos, and a strong desire to come back! Whether you're planning a film crew retreat or any other group event, this property is an absolute winner in every regard! Genuinely the best stay I've had at an AirBnb ever, in the world. Literally!

Just enjoyed a 2 night stay, let's get rid of all the bad points first, right that's done. This is a lovely well run B&B near the centre of Lyndhurst, an ideal base to explore the New forest. A warm welcome, nice comfortable, clean rooms equipped with tv,toiletries, tea making kit, towels etc. We had a nice room overlooking a brilliant garden which the weather unfortunately stopped us from enjoying. The host was friendly and there to answer any questions and give advice and information but was never in your face which was good. The breakfast area was clean and tidy, breakfast was cooked fresh with really decent quality bacon and sausage, definitely not cheap supermarket rubbish and there was ample fresh fruit, juices and yoghurt available. This venue was in a word superb and certainly well priced for the location, rooms and breakfast, I would certainly return and would recommend it to anyone.

Spotlessly clean in all areas, very comfy bed, lovely shower and everything you could need in the room which smelt lovely and was calm and quiet. Huge and very tasty breakfast of greek yoghurt and fruit followed by fantastic, high quality, perfectly cooked full English with loads of toast and fresh coffee. Hosts Maria and Fraser were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and stay again - faultless!
Rebecca P — Google review
We stayed back in March 2025 Had two rooms in the coach house. The rooms were immaculately clean, and beautifully decorated. The bed in my room was huge and super comfy. I usually struggle to sleep when away but, slept really peacefully the whole weekend. Location perfect, just under a five minute walk to the charming high st. The service was second to none, Fraser and Maria are just amazing hosts! Their breakfasts are incredible, absolutely delicious 😋 They truly have thought of everything, and nothing is too much trouble. My daughter was staying in the room opposite ours and suggested that the only thing missing from her room was a full length mirror. No sooner were our backs turned and as if by magic one had appeared, amazing!! We will absolutely be returning to this wonderful place 😍

We recently stayed at Highfield Coach House, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Fraser picked us up from the airport, which made our arrival smooth and stress-free. From that moment, we were treated with such warmth and care that truly set this hotel apart. One of the highlights of the stay was the delicious breakfast prepared by Fraser’s wife. The food was fresh, tasty, and clearly made with care, adding a lovely personal touch to the stay. The hotel itself was spotless, with well-maintained rooms and common areas. The attention to detail, cleanliness, and overall service were top-notch. If you’re looking for a hotel that offers exceptional customer service, a welcoming atmosphere, and a memorable, home-cooked breakfast, I highly recommend Highfield Coach House. I can't wait to return!

Wonderful stay. The rooms are clean, comfortable and finished to a high standard. Andrea is absolutely amazing and even dropped me off to my friend's wedding as I was struggling to get a taxi. Location is great not too far from the station which I walked to in about 15 minutes close to town so easy to go out for food and shop will definitely return.

What a fantastic B&B! The room was brand new for our stay and beautifully turned out with complimentary biscuits, hot drinks and bottled water as well as toiletries. Andrea was a fantastic host and made us feel very at home straight away with lots of recommendations about where to go in the day and local restaurants for dinner. The breakfast was beautiful with fresh fruit, toast and a high quality full English with great sausages 👌 We'll be back again!
Edward W — Google review
My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights 2 weeks ago. Could not fault it. So clean and very comfy bed, the shower was just lovely, every thing you needed in the room and more like little treats chocolate's. The breakfast at the sister hotel, it was great cooked fresh and cooked how we liked it, well done sausages and bacon, kept you going all day. The owner's are lovely people so friendly. When we checked out we said we would go there again, little did we know then, that we would be back 4 days later, Andrea didnt have the same room's we had before, but it didnt matter because the room's we had this time were just as good, I had the singal room and it was very cosy with a garden view, my daughter had a king with a garden view. Thank you for every thing. We will visit again. Jane and Christine.

From the moment I walked in, it was nothing but wonderful. The staff are exceptionally welcoming, helpful and just lovely people. Super accommodating. I felt like a royal! The food, was lovely and there was so much choice, the same with the drink selection. The room, beautiful and stocked up with various different yummy things to eat / drink. I cannot fault my stay here, in fact my stay was paid for via work but when I found out how much they paid, I was shocked it wasn’t more. Like I said, I felt like royalty. Just wonderful! Couldn’t recommend more!!!
