The Elderflower Restaurant in Lymington offers a refined modern British fine dining experience in a relaxed setting adorned with monochrome shades. This establishment presents a fusion of French and British cuisine, creating an exquisite menu for patrons to enjoy. With its elegant ambiance and delectable dishes, The Elderflower Restaurant is a must-visit destination for those seeking an exceptional culinary experience in the area.
Visited The Elderflower to try the 7 course (yes, 7 course) tasting menu, and I must say it was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Every dish was incredible, but not large enough to make you feel like a stuffed pig by the end. The wine was matched perfectly to each dish and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Easily one of the best restaurant meals I've ever tasted, just superb.
Tom C — Google review
I’m always impressed by the quality and creativity of the food here. The chef’s talent shines through in every dish, with flavours and presentation that are consistently imaginative and beautifully balanced. I’m a big fan of tasting menus, and this one easily holds its own against several Michelin star experiences I’ve had. Not knowing what’s coming next, and having each course introduced as it arrives, really adds to the sense of occasion. It’s also great to see a place investing in future talent—the energy and enthusiasm from the team is infectious. Our waiter was genuinely thrilled when we complimented the bread—he couldn't hold back that he’d made it himself that morning. Just a heads-up: tips are cash only, so it's worth bringing some along to avoid getting caught out. I can't wait to be back, if only I could fit in more than once a year.
J G — Google review
My wife and I ate at the Elderflower in Lymington and had the 3 course lunch menu. It was a delightful meal at a reasonable price. The freshly baked bread was such a lovely way to start, along with the bouquet garni butter which was very moreish. We had an oyster each, which we didn't regret! We've never had a better Oyster, and the flavour pairing of jalepeno and honey worked so well. We had the starters of duck salad and cuttlefish, which was pleasant. The main course was the highlight, the mixed grill of seafood was awesome, and the smoky charred flavour was addictive! The desserts were brilliant, especially since it was my first soufflé ever! So delicious. Thanks to Keane and the rest of the team at the Elderflower for a lovely lunch.
David G — Google review
I ordered a takeaway Mixed Fish Grill with potatoes for £25 from The Elderflower Restaurant In Lymington, expecting a decent portion and quality for the price. Although the restaurant staff were nice the food experience was a letdown. First of all, the portion size was shockingly small for a £25 meal — it felt more like a starter than a main course. To make matters worse, instead of the potatoes I ordered, I received plain noodles, which made no sense. For a dish that’s marketed as a premium option, this felt lazy and overpriced. I definitely won’t be ordering from here again. There are plenty of places that offer better quality and value for money. Very disappointing.
Agata K — Google review
A "10 minute wait" for takeaway fish & chips turned into a 35 minute wait, orders came out in waves and for the last 2 portions we were informed that they'd run out of chips and they were now coming fries (looked like the type ovened from a frozen bag). If I had known in advance I wouldve chosen a different venue for our lunch. The standard dining-in experience may have been given the AA 3 Rosettes, but the takeaway option sadly doesn't live up to that grading at all. Communication of expected delays in advance and knowing stock levels could be improved significantly. From what we saw whilst ordering, the quality of food being carried to tables inside looked great. A last tip if ordering the takeaway is to check your order by opening the box before leaving to confirm that you have salt and vinegar on, as they didn't add any to mine despite confirming it at the counter. Not worth £16.50, grab a sandwich from the store opposite, save yourself £10 to use on a flapjack, coffee and 30 minutes of your holiday.
Josh F — Google review
A wonderful full on experience. I chose the KF Fish wings as my starter. This chef must be mad to come up with the idea of fish wings KFC style. It’s so hard to eat without getting frustrated by a bone here or there; but it is soooo worth it. A totally tasty, barking mad, delicious starter. Being a Friday I followed by posh fish n chips. It’s just what to expect from an excellent restaurant. Spot on. To finish Rasberry soufflé. An amazing and incredible desert. It’s a must visit restaurant.
Paul C — Google review
This is fine dining restaurant, but we felt a little disappointed. The duck salad was tasty but didn't seem to have any meat and was what seemed to be duck skin scratchings. The seafood mixed grill was more stew like and the fish was a bit over cooked. The raspberry soufflé was the star dish and quite brilliant.
Richard R — Google review
We chose the four course tasting menu with accompanying wine flight. What a revelation! The whole evening was perfect in every way. Yes, it was expensive, but quality and inventiveness costs - and this evening had the best of both. Great venue for that special treat. I won’t post pictures as that would spoil the surprise of the tasting menu, but each course looked and tasted incredible.

Nestled on the picturesque Avon Beach, The Noisy Lobster is a delightful haven for seafood enthusiasts and casual diners alike. This family-run gem offers a relaxed atmosphere with stunning views of Mudeford Bay and the Isle of Wight, featuring both indoor seating and a dog-friendly terrace that invites you to soak in the coastal charm. With an emphasis on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, much of their menu showcases fresh catches from nearby fishermen in Mudeford and Lymington.
Very friendly, efficient and professional staff. Views were amazing! All entrees, mains and desserts were beautifully presented, cooked to perfection and delicious. Flavours were matched perfectly and their wine choice was spot on. They were very happy to cater for dietary requirements which was very much appreciated. You will not be disappointed with any of the dishes you choose. We would not hesitate to go back!

The food was very good and beautifully presented. The location of the restaurant is also excellent, with lovely views of the sea. We arrived around 5pm and asked to sit upstairs, but unfortunately we were told that section wasn’t open due to limited bookings. However, we did notice that there were still some guests seated on the upstairs balcony at that time. We ended up sitting outside downstairs, where you can still enjoy the sea view. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, though it would have been nicer to sit upstairs.
Sami M — Google review
Delicious food. Quite expensive but that said there are burgers and fish and chips for £20 odd which looking at location and quality of food is worth it. If you want something else a little more special then price goes up and wine costs all add up! But beautiful food lovely location and worth the money!
Shaun H — Google review
Really good food, there was a musician on in the front of the restaurant that we couldn't quite hear, but it was good in the background. Food was amazing, the only thing that let it down was the prawn cocktail that was a bit bland. But the Monkfish more than made up for it on flavour!
Lynn W — Google review
Great location, lovely looking restaurant. Staff were great. Had monkfish 1st visit which was amazing a bit pricey but your paying for the view aswell i think. Had the dressed crab the next day and which looked great, but i was really disappointed with it. It was dry and bland and quite a small crab, looked like most of the white meat was used elsewhere. This was well overpriced at over £30, I have had loads better off a local fish van for £8. This has put me off going back and will be trying other restaurants around the area.
Jacko D — Google review
We came here after a few friends had recommended it. A very good choice indeed. Our party of 5 included or 10 year old, my wife and her parents, so a wee age range. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food, which was absolutely superb. From the lobster, to the crab, to the steak that I had (I'm not a fan of seafood). All of it was cooked to perfection and served well presented. The staff were great, attentive and friendly without being overbearing. It was lovely watching their interactions with some customers who were clearly regular. The restaurant was clean, well laid out and the atmosphere felt right, which is a fairly subjective thing. There was some live music in the bar area, fortunately it wasn't too loud in the restaurant space as sleepless or can be quite distracting having to talk over someone trying to entertain you?
Carl B — Google review
Visited for lunch, food was absolutely gorgeous. Don't be fooled by the standard battered fish and chips on the menu, best I've ever eaten! Monfish main was beautiful, highly recommend. Octopus and prawn starters were delicious and the foccacia with seaweed butter is 100% worth ordering. Beautiful food with fantastic views.
Katie W — Google review
Fantastic food, stunning location, excellent service. Prices a bit on the high side but justified by the overall quality of the venue. Dog-friendly walk-in terrace on the ground floor no, paying carpark adjacent, gorgeous views of the Isle of Wight and Christchurch Bay on a sunny day.

Nestled in the heart of the New Forest, The Oak Inn in Bank near Lyndhurst is a charming country pub that embodies the essence of traditional British hospitality. Owned by a major brewery, this inviting establishment features on-site parking and serves up a delightful menu that combines classic dishes with modern flair, all crafted from locally sourced ingredients. Whether you're stopping by for lunch or dinner, you'll find something to satisfy your cravings.
We had dinner in this country pub which is really nice. It is settled in the heart of the new forest in a very quiet road. The car park has flat pebbles and they look great. The building is beautiful inside with low ceilings, full of character. We were attended politely and the food came quickly. The portions were good and we really enjoyed our dinner.

So happy we stumbled upon this lovely pub in the new forest. One of the better Sunday roasts we've had in a while! We had the new "sharing roast" between 3 of us and we were absolutely stuffed. You get a bit of every meat and all the regular trimmings plus some cauliflower cheese! Not to mention the service was amazing and the servers were just the kindest people 🤩
Craig L — Google review
We had a wonderful Sunday lunch at The Oak. The food was amazing and the service exceptional. Anita, who gave us a warm welcome, looked after us and made sure everything was in order. The food here is really good; great presentation and generous portions. The Fullers beer is served from the barrel so is fresh and in tip top condition. If you haven't visited The Oak put it on your to-do list because it's a gem.
David B — Google review
We visited the Oak Inn on Sunday 6th July 2025 for lunch. We were greeted by friendly bar staff and were placed in a lovely bay window table. All the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The roast chicken was very tasty and portions are not stingy here, we all got so full up. The atmosphere of the pub was great, and we can’t wait to come back in the colder months as it would be very cosy. Will definitely recommend. Thank you.

Best steak I have had in years! Great decor n service. Lovely to follow lane on for a wander in forest. Heard a woodpecker. Ponies passing us to take a drink at a brook. The free library in telephone box outside looks a tad sad so bring some unwanted but quality books to top it up ;-).
Marta E — Google review
I came here for the 1st time in a long time, we had 3 roast been dinners, I was so disappointed. And the serving staff I think might not be allowed to speak to customers as I never got anything from the young lady serving us. Food and service was awful, luckily they had good customers, as it helped with the atmosphere. I won’t be coming again. I will say location and building is amazing, just a shame about everything else. Food attached of the beef, I couldn’t cut because it was so tough.

Have often driven past and wondered what is was like. We cycled there as a group on a tour of the local pubs. Had a lovely Thai green curry and it was served with a pint of Clarksons Hawkstone lager! What a great combo The interior of the pub is spotless and had a welcome feel to it . The bar staff are very friendly and the service on the food was very good

We had a lovely meal with visiting Polish friends, we wanted a typical English experience. Chloe was superb from the moment we arrived, she was engaging and friendly. A real personal touch which made our visit very memorable. Thank you Chloe for your warm welcome. Thank you too for the delicious fish and chips and beer!

Verveine Fishmarket Restaurant is a relaxed and cordial eatery that offers imaginative, modern dishes with a focus on fresh fish. Chef David Wykes creates amazing creations based on the day's catch, providing a thoughtful and creative dining experience in an informal atmosphere. The restaurant also operates as a fishmonger shop during the day, offering wonderful fresh seafood for those looking to prepare a delicious meal at home.
A wonderful experience. The atmosphere was buzzing yet calm, and the food was really special. The staff were super attentive, and the owner, who is also the chef, was extremely passionate, which came across in the food. We opted for the 6 courses @ £85 pp and loved every single one. We decided against the wine package and ordered a bottle instead, which was lovely. Would definitely visit again.
Ti F — Google review
I have only given them a 5 star review simply because there wasn't any more stars available. We enjoyed everything from the moment we walked in. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the chefs coming round to serve was a nice touch. The food was exceptional. We went for the 6 course lunch. Though busy, we didn't feel rushed, and each table got the same level of high service. It's quite telling when all the overhead conversations are about the food. This is definitely a must visit/experience.

Omg. Spectacular. One of the best ever restaurants - maybe the best. Perfect wine pairings. 100%
Gurvinder G — Google review
Truly amazing! A special journey in textures, colours and flavours blended expertly to create a very memorable meal. I did opt for fish only 8 course menu and did not have the wine pairings although am sure they would compliment and add to the experience. Excellent!
Thomas — Google review
Superb fine dining lunch with more than a nod to Japanese cuisine. Absolutely delighted that we were able to get a table and to taste such delicious dishes. Everything was superb, thank you. P.S. Astonished to find out later that our accommodation host was responsible for the stunning Resin tables! Each one a piece of stunning artwork.
Diana L — Google review
I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Delicious innovative dishes in a lovely relaxed setting. My friend and I treated ourselves to the 8 course tasting menu which was actually more like 11 courses. The seafood is beautifully prepared and presented with many innovative touches. The flavours are unique and the ingredients are of the highest quality. I will definitely be back and look forward to trying the different seasonal fare. A highly creative team and the front of house staff are relaxed, welcoming and friendly. Fabulous experience. Cannot think of a better pick me up or treat to myself.
M G — Google review
First time I have ever been and I would highly recommend to any sea food lover. The food is fresh, you don't know what your going to get till it is served and the waitress or waiter tells you. They leave you to enjoy your food and don't keep asking if you need more drinks. They only have a few tables which allows the chef to be able to cook to a much higher standard, which you taste in the outstanding dishes he prepare for you. We are already planing our next visit.

Such a fabulous find. Staff, service, venue, food are all amazing. We went on first night of holiday and loved it so much we went back. Food is more than pub grub but prices are very much within normal budget. Lots of choice in beers and cocktail list. We loved it
Harkett F — Google review
Dropped in for lunch as had driven past many times and wanted to try it. A good road side setting though when busy I expect the car parking is not sufficient. Very attractive inside with seating in the bar and a separate restaurant. We chose to eat in the bar area. A nice selection of dishes on the menu available for lunch plus a couple of specials. The Beef lasagne was good as was my halloumi baguette; nicely presented food. The Koru IPA beer they produce was excellent, light and hoppy; we liked it so much took some away in cans with us. An excellent find and we will certainly return.
Elaine W — Google review
Made our first trip here on Saturday for dinner. The food, atmosphere and staff of the Monkey Brewhouse are fantastic. And the beer was pretty damn good too. We will definitely be coming back.
Miranda R — Google review
Great selection of beers from their own microbrewery. Lovely sounding menu (we didn't eat here). Good sized car park, nice beer patio. Friendly bar and brewery staff.
Tim W — Google review
Lovely place to visit as the food and beers were good value. Not such a good place to stay, as there's no double glazing so the room is cold and you are open to the sound of the drinkers beneath your window until well past 11. Still, the staff were friendly and helpful, giving a chance to sample the beer before buying, so would definitely stop for a meal next time I am passing.
R S — Google review
Dropped in for lunch and a pint and couldn't have been happier. Great food and good beer. Caters for gluten-free too. And a special mention for the urinals!
Colin J — Google review
Lovely friendly brewhouse/pub/food and live music venue. We popped in last Friday night and enjoyed good friendly service from all the staff and sat in the bear garden listening to the live music and enjoying very good quality burgers and fries. I would recommend the monkey brewhouse to anyone visiting Lymington, it's just on the edge of town as you come in from the North of town.

Nestled in the charming town of Lymington, Rivaaz Lymington stands out as a beacon for Indian cuisine enthusiasts. With its sleek and modern decor, this restaurant offers a delightful blend of classic favorites and lesser-known dishes that will tantalize your taste buds. The culinary prowess here is evident, especially with their renowned tandoor dishes that have earned them multiple accolades over the years.
We were looking for a nice restaurant and we found it. We had dinner on a Monday bank holiday and we had no problem having a table even though we didn't book in advance. After we sat down the restaurant was full so we were very lucky. The service was very good all the waitress knew what they were doing and it was awesome. The food it was very nice, we had their special dish of lamb and it was delicious. The menus are on the table so it is easy to order if you wish any other favourite dishes as the food is very nice and the portions are generous. The ambience is calm and cosy that makes you feel good. I just can recommend this restaurant if you are in Lymington.

What an amazing experience . Lovely decor , really friendly & attentive staff. It was our best Indian dining experience to date! We also got a cake for my other half's bday which was a nice surprise. Don't hesitate to come here! I had railway lamb which was delicious and tender and partner had a korma /madras hot. We also tried tandoori mixed started which was amazing!! We shall return when next in the area thanks guys! :) Kat & Luke (Fareham)

I ate here with my parents a few days ago and the first thing we noticed were the large number of awards on the walls for best restaurant. When we ordered these were more than vindicated and this is honestly the best curry I've ever had. My only regret is I don't live nearby so I can't regularly come back! The staff were friendly, service was very quick, and I can't say enough about how delicious all of the food was. I can't recommend enough!
Hiemdiael — Google review
Beautiful décor and food was lovely (a little less spicy I would say than some of the equivalent dishes in West London). They served all 13 of us with ease and speed. Very helpful with the booking a week beforehand (we understandably put down a deposit which was taken off the bill). Ohh and they accept Amex
David C — Google review
The food and service was superb. We went here during our visit to the New forest. I absolutely loved the Lamb Fire cracker and the spice was spot on! Nice and tender meat and plenty of it (not left short). My partner had the Chicken Dhansak and again she said it was great. Many Indian restaurants out there but I got to say this one was outstanding and I wish it was my local.
Shahed A — Google review
Very busy place and obviously popular with the locals. Food good but two of our King Prawn dishes were slightly over cooked, which is a pity. Great flavours and sensibly priced drinks. Main gripe? Cheap frozen deserts AVOID!! Come on Rivaaz, you're better than this.
K22 M — Google review
Certainly not cheap but this is one restaurant where you 100% get what you pay for — and then some. To start with, service was incredible. The guys who waited on me were attentive, had great suggestions on what to order and were quick to clear the dishes when done. Food was great. A lot of traditional Indian dishes while also offering some original fusion recipes. Overall this is restaurant that stands out among the rest and is worth the money if you’re looking for nice meal and night out.

Came for dinner as recommended by a friend who lives in Lymington. Very tasty and flavoursome food in a clean and beautifully decorated restaurant. Staff was pleasant and helpful despite being very busy! I had the railway lamb which was delicious. Generous chunks of tender lamb with a bit of spice. My friends had the Chicken tikka and a chicken korma which they loved. I would definitely visit again and also recommend. Pre booking advised as there was limited timing slots when I tried booking in a day advance.

Very comfortable rooms, well appointed, peaceful location. The en-suite bathroom was lovely but quite small. The staff are very friendly, polite and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious, home cooked and fresh, overall a quality experience more in line with a hotel than a pub. We would go again!

Came here today for the first time and wasn't disappointed. We were shown to our table and given a jug of iced water. Two of us ordered roast beef and a roast lamb. It was nice to be asked how we wanted our beef ie rare/medium/well done. Vegetables are in separate dishes not piled on the plate. Everything was cooked and presented very well. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. We didn't get our waitresses name but she was great. We were on table 9 at 12:45 if you want to give her a pay rise !!

What a great place! We were lucky enough to be staying two minutes walk away from this pub, we visited quite a few times throughout our holiday and this was definitely the best food! We took both of our dogs and the staff were really accommodating and always gave them treats on arrival! On the Sunday we visited the dogs were given some roast beef 😋.. the staff were always very friendly and helpful! We had various meals as shown in the photos, all were superb and delicious!! Visited for our anniversary meal and was greeted by lovely friendly staff, served great food, good outdoor garden and they even gave the kids some sweets at the end. Highly recommend it. Lovely place.

My sister and I had a wonderful stay here. The team were all lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. The room was homely and had all the necessities and lovely little touches. We had dinner and breakfast too all of which was delicious! Great access to some lovely walks and other nearby pubs Would definitely come back again

A lovely presented room awaited us for our weekend away, we stayed in "The Gallops" ( Dog friendly) Arrived late on Friday after exploring the local area. The pub was busy enough with what seemed to be regular customers. At the bar, there's a fully stocked bar, including draught Guiness which doesn't seem to be widely available in other pubs around the area. The Fish and Chips was brilliant, freshly cooked to order, other people in our party also had the pie, and The Duck, all lovely. Finally, the breakfasts, seemingly unlimited Tea's / coffees, cereals, locally sourced cold cured meats and cheeses ( always pleases) fruit, and then a choice Cooked breakfast, Omelette or Salmon / Scrambled eggs on Sourdough Toast. All options were sampled and all were delicious. All in all, the rooms are great, the hosts are great, staff is great, food is great and the pub itself is great. Would happily return.

We always make an effort to visit this pub whenever we’re in the New Forest and it never disappoints. We usually go in winter as it’s a perfectly cosy pub but we went this summer and discovered its brilliant outside space too. The owner who works front of house is always lovely and really accommodating of our dog and growing amount of children. And the food is absolutely stand out - always one of the best meals we have in the New Forest. Would thoroughly recommend to everyone visiting the area, we’ll be back again!

Had a lovely meal in the pretty garden of this gastropub. The scallops and pork belly starter was delicious and the monkfish scampi was light, crisp and tasty. Service was excellent with care and attention to us.

Gorgeous village pub. We were visiting from Devon and had a wonderful roast on bank holiday Sunday. We had four dogs with us and us and the dogs were all made to feel so welcome. Superb food, outstanding service and all round fabulous experience. Thank you 🙏

I first reviewed the Rose and Thistle under the old lovely owners - fabulous food and service. It was wonderful to hear that the community had managed to take over the running of the pub, and today was our first sunny trip to the RaT under the new community landlords. Very pleased to say it’s as good as it always was. Superb food and fantastic service. I had a bit of a meze with the cheese soufflé at the heart - was a fabulous soufflé and all the food was just divine. For those (like me) who rarely carry cash with them, just be aware that they don’t currently take tips on card - felt guilty not being able to tip the superb service. We will definitely be back. Congrats to the Rockborne community for bringing back the Rose and Thistle and making it marvellous!

Lovely, cosy pub, with friendly, welcoming staff nestled in a charming village. Oh, and the food was delicious too - exceeded expectations! We were able to enjoy a drink in the beer garden out the front too, marvelling at all the thatched roofs around. Highly recommend, and worth going out of your way to visit.

A great community pub that deserves support for the quality of its food and friendly atmosphere! They easily accommodated our party of a dozen as we ordered our food in advance. Definitely worth visiting and regularly if you're local.

...and despite this review, they still gave it a thumbs up ?....Ate here under the previous owners and their Rat burger was awesome, went back this week and couldn't be more disappointed, burger was overdone with no cheese, the staff offered to add the cheese and got the same burger back now cooked to a crisp with cheese that still hadn't melted. When I mentioned at the end they simply asked if I wanted the desert menu. Stupidly I paid at the bar not at the end. Wouldn't go back

what a lovely find I had the chicken with veg and potatoes my husband had the RAT burger both excellent. We enjoyed so much booked to go back on the Wednesday but the weather was due to change so booked inside it was a very warm night and they had the offer on from the government so very busy. Again excellent food ( sorry no pictures this time ) but a long wait for desert so we just asked to have it as take out which was not a problem . Very friendly and excellent following covid we felt very safe and dog friendly

Great, great place. I would thoroughly recommend. Very friendly, attentive service in a beautiful little pub. My favourite for 2020. Good food, all locally sourced. In the winter a wonderful open fire (well 2 open fires one on the restaurant and one in the bar/games area). Such a treat.

I was so pleased with this restaurant. Went in with low expectations, but they were smashed. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. There's a brilliant range on the menu with something for everyone, especially vegetarians. The restaurant was clean and well presented, especially considering that it had been a busy Father's Day, and we went in the early evening. Our food came really quickly and was very tasty as well as prepared to a good standard. The serving size was great, especially the fish and chips. The prices are good and there's plenty of parking.

August 2025 Early evening meal Not very busy on our arrival, but soon began to fill. Very good menu. We had very good service. The food main courses and desserts were very good and enjoyable. Very good early evening visit. Lunchtime menu includes a two for one deal. Good varied menu and a children's menu is also available. Very good staff Another visit to to restaurant, earlier visit I gave it THREE stars Today's visit seven months later than our previous visit. Very disappointing, Entered restaurant nobody available until a delay of a few minutes to take us to a table. Then a long delay for our drinks order. A few more minutes food order taken. Delay in the arrival of our meals. You may accept this service if the restaurant was extremely busy, this was not the case. If I was generous the restaurant was a quarter full. Not enough staff on duty. New rating only ONE star. This standard would be really disappointing for anybody staying at the Premier Inn.

Jody and the team are very friendly. I’m staying in the hotel here most weeks with work. Food is to a good quality and portion sizes are generous. Service is efficient and staff give a warm welcome. Good selection of draught Beers and Ciders. Menus change relatively frequently. It’s a clean space and live sports are available. Jody, Abby, Thea, Mikey and Dave are a credit to the team.

We were a booked table of three. We arrived at 18:21 for 18:30 table. Drinks service very good. Only main meals were ordered by 18:50. The meals took ages, although the Pub was not full. Then trying to get serverd for 3 puddings took a while. We eventually ordered 3 puddings at 20:00hrs. Two ice-cream Sundays and a Cholate Fudgecake. By 20:26 I went to cancel this order, but as I returned the two ice cream Sundays arrived. Unfortunately, they didn’t resemble the pne pictured in the Menu, so we asked to send them back and pay the bill. This was totally the reverse of our experience the week before!

Tragically "mid" the food didnt taste bad but jesus anything with batter was not burnt but well done. The dessert was alright, the wife has the gherkins out my burger and responded with "Worse gherkins ive ever had" i think she was being a bit dramatic but she is an avid pickle/gherkin fan.

The establishment also features a stylish restaurant serving hearty country dishes. Owned by former Dire Straits bassist John Ilsley since 1990, the pub has a traditional old side favored by locals and an upmarket restaurant run by renowned chef Mark Davidson.
Could not have wished for a better stay at the East End Arms, I was made to feel at home. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the accommodation was perfect with everything that I wanted. We have just completed a stay at the very lovely East End Arms. It is wonderful place to stay. We did have a couple of problems which were out of everyone's control but the joy of excellent customer service is how these things are handled. The staff were calm, attentive and absolutely went over and above to help us and to ensure we were happy and comfortable. In fact it was the best customer service I have encountered when things just haven't gone as they should. You should be very proud. Thank you

We were visiting this area from the south east and having spent the afternoon on the beach deciding to walk over a mile to go to the East End. We were in desperate need of something to eat, anything would have done, and arriving 15 minutes before the kitchen close we thought we could at least order some chip. But no! We were greeted by a very unfriendly bartender that only offered us her pearls of wisdom, by saying get a cab to Limington or walk an hour to the nearest pub. I’m glad we are more friendly where we live. Obviously living in the new forest doesn’t give you good customer service, or you take so much money you can turn away trade. We won’t be back!

Fantastic pub. Very tasty food. The best chips I've ever eaten Great atmosphere with very personable staff. Very large beer garden with an outside bar to purchase drinks and order food. Outside area has massive covered tented area, which is good for hot weather also has heating for colder days. They have live music events too The pub was very clean. We will be back Highly recommend this pub

Lovely roast this afternoon. The pub was busy, but they managed to give us a table 😀 food was perfect with plenty of well roasted potatoes. 100% worth the 90miles drive. Especially as the key is right outside for a wonderful walk afterwards

This is the second time to have lunch at the great pub. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu has a number of locally sourced produce and local beers including the excellent and very local Sea Wall; a pint or two of which is highly recommended. It was good to see a few vegetarian options on the menu sound with locally caught fish shed farmed produce. My only complaint is the lack of custard on the dessert menu and their running out of Yorkshire pudding for the lamb roast 🫣; minor points I know. The buffing itself is delightfully quaint and in close proximity to the coastal path.

Exceptional! The staff were lovely, beer was good and the food was one of the tastiest meals I’ve had in ages. Mackerel cooked perfectly, with a super tasty salsa and hot crispy fries. Way exceeded expectations for a pub. Will definitely return.

I would say this is my favourite pub for lunch in the New Forest. The food and service is great (special shout out to Libby!) and the garden is really pleasant - nicely sheltered, plenty of space between the tables, bar outside for ordering. Location is perfect for a walk or cycle from Lymington or Milford on Sea. Highly recommended.

The Gun Inn is always a fantastic spot for a drink in the sunshine. They've got a beautiful back garden, and it's the perfect end (or start) to lots of great walks to Lymington and beyond. This pub has one of the most beautiful beer gardens I've ever seen! It's absolutely worth a visit, and I always drink Landlord, but this particular pint was unusually tasty. New keg? Clean lines? Visited for a celebration. Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable, the wine choices were perfect. Our server took her time to walk us through the ordering process and checked in on us several times. We ordered the ultimate board and added a baked Camembert and partnered it with a ‘ballsy’ Rioja and smooth Riesling and it was all amazing. Wine flights were available to upgrade the experience. Would be great to see the brand expand to more towns as a great alternative for a night out. I highly recommend a visit here for good food good drink and an amazing atmosphere. What a place! 🧀 🍷 🤩 I couldn’t have asked for a better host than Holly. Quite a culinary experience with the taster flights and grand variety of wines, cheeses and charcuterie. What’s not to love? I’m usually a pub guy, but this place is an exception and really a unique gem 💎

Should have been a 4 star review but let down by taking 80 to get the food after arriving at the restaurant. However the food was amazing, such a delicious variety of cheeses and meats. We had a sharing board for 6 shared between 7 and there was plenty to go round. Asked for extra crackers and they were very accomodating for one of our party who needed gluten free. Wines were great too
Phil R — Google review
I wanted to leave a review of this place as it was an impromptu visit with my husband and we had a great experience at Renoufs. We booked a table very last minute and received a warm welcome as they were opening up. As we hadn't been to a Renoufs before, the waiter explained the menu to us and gave some recommendations based on our likes/dislikes. We chose the ultimate sharing board for 2 people and a flight of red wine each. We can honestly say that everything was perfection with the food/wine. We even stayed for puddling and a flight of port to share. Our bill came to £101 which we felt was good value for money based on the quality of the food and wine. We really liked the vibe of the place and would definitely return next time we are in the area or nearby another of Renoufs locations.
Shannon D — Google review
Lovely food and lovely atmosphere, only downside was table for 2 is way to small for platters and drinks together. Food was excellent with a great variety to choose from. Very knowledgeable staff on the wines. 1000 % will be going back again.
Sue W — Google review
We've been before and enjoyed everything about it. Great wine, platter for this etc. No major problems, except, we were running short of bread to complete our platter experience. Waitress sauntered up and asked "can I get you anything else?" I asked for two more small rounds of French stick, Oh you want another basket of bread (No, just two slices) Well, you're gonna have to buy another bread bowl !!!!!! I asked for about 10p worth of extra bread ..... Shocking service, shocking business acumen, shocking customer service and attention to detail. Overall bills £70+ Owner needs a kick up the backside or train staff in the balance of customer service and cleverness of good business. Too many businesses are closing ,many because of greed or the inability to recognise what are genuine paying customers.
Pete — Google review
We treated ourselves to an evening at Renoufs. As expected there is a great choice of cheese, wine and charcuterie. I particularly liked the fact you could choose a selection of wines to try. We also enjoyed a gin and tonic at the end of the evening - which was delicious. The food was displayed beautifully and was of an excellent standard. When it arrived I think we both thought that we might have to grab some chips on the way home, but it was surprisingly filling. The pork pie was much bigger than we anticipated and could have easily fed 4 people. There's a lovely atmosphere at Renoufs and the staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable but not pushy. We really enjoyed our evening and although it is a little on the pricey side, we would recommend Renoufs.
Anita L — Google review
Treated my Welsh boyfriend to a renoufs as it is a lovely southern treat, the food and drinks were as good as ever, so much choice for cheese, meats and wine that we couldn't just stick with 6 and had to get an extra cheese on our board! We were served by Michael and he had an extensive knowledge of everything on the board and made it a wonderful experience especially with the platinum Red flight considering the information he had to share! Service was fast and we didn't leave a single thing on our board! Cannot recommend highly enough, my favourite dining experiences have always been at renoufs across all venues! A luxury experience for very reasonable prices.

The Filly Inn, located in Brockenhurst, is a charming 16th-century country inn that has been lovingly restored. It offers a cosy and traditional pub atmosphere with a modern twist. The inn provides an idyllic hideaway for lovers of the outdoors, as it is set against the majestic backdrop of the New Forest and offers great sea views of The Solent.
A Truly Exceptional Weekend at The Filly Inn Our recent Friday to Sunday stay at The Filly Inn was nothing short of fantastic, and we departed feeling incredibly relaxed and well-cared for. From the moment we arrived, the entire team made us feel truly welcome, and their dedication to hospitality shone through in every detail. The rooms were wonderfully comfortable, offering a perfect haven after a day of exploring. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches – the luxurious products provided and the delightful fresh cookies awaiting us in our room were a lovely surprise and indicative of the Inn's attention to guest comfort. The food was, quite simply, incredible. We ended up dining at the Inn two nights in a row, a testament to the consistently delicious and expertly prepared dishes. Complementing the superb cuisine was an equally impressive wine selection, offering something for every palate. There was even live music on Sunday afternoon providing the perfect end to our weekend. While every member of the team contributed to our wonderful experience, we must extend a special mention to Martyn, Lauren, and Alex. Their professionalism, warmth, and genuine desire to ensure we had a perfect stay were evident throughout. Martyn, in particular, went above and beyond, making us feel genuinely valued guests. His exceptional service truly made our visit extra special and memorable. The Filly Inn offers a perfect blend of comfort, delicious food, and outstanding service. We wholeheartedly recommend it and can't wait to return.

On arrival the staff were very helpful and asked if we would prefer to sit inside or outside. We sat inside, which was nice as we had our dog with us and some places prefer you sit outside if you bring a dog. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. Nice spot on the main road between Brockenhurst and Lymington. Interior and garden are all very nicely done. Staff were all lovely and very good with our son’s nut allergy. Kids meals were lovely and decent portions. Overall adult portions are on the small side and prices on the high side. Steak pies were very tasty. A couple of us ordered steak which was very over priced for what turned up, a small thin steak (perhaps the one from the cheaper lunch menu) with fries etc for £30 felt poor value. Overall worth a visit just pick with care from the menu.

Great venue and friendly and helpful welcome. We both had the beer battered fish and chips. We are more used to twice baked chips in good pubs but not here. The fish was ok, not particularly large so 6 out of 10 on the food front. There was a minimal vegetarian options on the menu. We had toasties - absolutely loaded. And you can do half and half if you can’t make your decision! My grandson and I played connect 4 whilst waiting for our food - which didn’t take long anyway. They had quite a few games that you could play. No rush to eat and get out - they were lovely - it’s a little gem, oh yes it has an outside eating area too. SO SO pleased that it survived COVID. X

This weekend sees the cider festival. £5 grants you access to a set of pleasant food and country craft stalls and some old cider presses run by steam/diesel Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely little place, tasty cider and apple juice..will be back for more of the other product's...thanks

A lovely place to stop off after a long walk on one of the many walks through the new forest. Don’t be deceived by the size of the front of the building , as you walk through it opens up and you enter into a fabulous outdoor eating area. A great choice of cakes , sandwiches, coffee, teas and local produced cider. A small shop to the rear of the garden where you can buy cider and other locally produced goods . Highly recommend the toasted sandwiches and a glass of cider

The Beaulieu Chocolate Studio, established in 2006, offers a wide array of delectable chocolate treats. With over 30 varieties of filled chocolates, including popular flavors like chocolate fudge and caramel as well as more exotic options such as forest fruit truffles, there's something for every palate. In addition to their novelty chocolates shaped like cars, ponies, guitars and more, the studio also creates custom chocolates and allows visitors to build their own box of goodies.
Gorgeous local chocolate shop. Offers so many special gifts, whether it’s slabs of chocolate in so many varieties, small gifts, boxes of your own selected chocolates and ice cream. All locally made and the chocolate is made in the premises.

We had some delicious homemade rum & raisin ice cream 🍦 at Beaulieu Chocolate Studio. Just what we needed before the walk back to Bucklers Hard! Back again the next day too! Recommended.
Chris B — Google review
Their ice cream was recommended to us by a local couple. As Italians living in the UK we took it with a grain of salt. I must say we were surprised when we tried it - it lives up to Italian standards! Also the chocolate is amazing and they have lots of vegan chocolate options too

Beauli Chocolate Studio is a chocolate lover's paradise! Their chocolates are rich, smooth, and full of flavor. Whether you prefer classic dark chocolate or unique flavors like salted caramel, there's something for everyone. The staff is friendly and helpful, always offering great recommendations. Perfect for a sweet treat or a thoughtful gift. Highly recommend!

What a lovely little shop this is. Large variety of different types of chocolate products in all forms of types and shapes. All made locally. You can find some very unique flavour chocolate bars in there. I definitely recommend trying their own gelatos. Selection might not be extensive but boy, the flavour and the richness of it is outstanding.

The rum and raisin ice cream is the best I've ever had. The shop is super cute and quaint. Very happy friendly lady serving too. If you are this way then definitely go in and try the delicious delights here

The ice cream is divine and comes with a very cute and delicious chcolate on top! The Dubai chocolate bar is the best I've had. The marzipan fruits are so cute! The cappuccino chocolate buttons and salted caramel chcolate buttons were way way better than Hotel Chocolat. This place is heaven.

Surprised us in the best way! Ice cream lives up to Italian standards, chocolate is excellent, and there are many vegan options.

Pub
The Royal Oak is a charming partly-thatched pub located in the heart of the New Forest, popular among walkers and visitors seeking a bucolic experience. The pub offers a selection of real ales, cozy log fires, and a spacious garden where summer barbecues are held. Guests can immerse themselves in its traditional character with shepherd's hut accommodations available for overnight stays. The surrounding area provides plenty of lovely walks, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts.
Brilliant pub, lovely country views and vibes. Large outdoor seating area, plenty of space but gets busy. Every kind of ploughmans you could imagine. That's all they sell. Stroke of genius. Delicious ice cream. Wonderful on a sunny day. Food was delicious and fresh, service was fast. Local ales. Parking a little awkward and small for the size of the pub. Dog friendly outside. Walks nearby.
Raindrops — Google review
Called in to The Royal Oak at lunch time. Their menu seemed to specialise mostly in types of ploughman’s. We ordered 1 ham and cheese, saying we’d share it between us. When it came it was very large and delicious! Plenty for the two of us. It came with a large variety and a lot of ham, cheese and bread with cutlery and plates for two! Quick, polite service, large pub garden with well spaced apart tables. Well worth a visit. It’s now in my satnav for return visits!

Whether you're a hiker, a dog walker, or just someone looking for great food in a beautiful setting, this pub hits all the right notes. Tucked away in stunning New Forest, surrounded by natural beauty and just a stone’s throw from several idyllic walking trails, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a long ramble through the woods. The spacious interiors are warm and welcoming, with plenty of room to relax whether you’re dropping in for a quick pint or settling down for a long, leisurely lunch. The menu is packed with delicious dishes and comes in quick! What truly sets this place apart, is the attentive, friendly people working there. Outside, the dog-friendly front garden is a real treat too. 5 stars well deserved!

A pub has to be sure of it's menu when they have such a small selection. But The Royal Oak have it spot on. Ploughmans, with cheese, with gammon, with both, with quiche, with sausage roll or with pork pie. Really, really good, and a lovely setting with fantastic views.
John P — Google review
Love this pub. It always keeps a wide range of proper local beers/ales and cider. The food menu is ploughman’s, and the quality is top notch. It really is a local gem.
Simon B — Google review
Had lunch here on a glorious sunny day. Washed down with a pint of Sunshine. It can't get any better. We went for a walk later past Eyeworth pond and beyond. A perfect afternoon.
Malcolm C — Google review
Lovely pub in the New Forest. Great destination for lots of walkers and cyclists. Know for its ploughman's. I was very slightly disappointed in the cheddar one but the blue cheese was good. Service was good. We had to move inside because we were swarmed with bees! They are doing their best to deal with them. Watch out in August. All in all, very pleasant.
Katie H — Google review
Great ploughman's lunch, although quite a lot of salad leaves some of which could be replaced with a different item, such as a celery stick (just my personal opinion). Very enjoyable plate of food nonetheless. Beautiful setting, plenty of tables and staff friendly and attentive. Highly recommend and will most certainly return.

Nestled in the charming village of Beaulieu, Bellord & Brown is a delightful deli-café that celebrates local flavors and fresh produce. Sourcing ingredients from their own kitchen garden as well as trusted suppliers like Jason Bellord and James Brown, they emphasize quality by partnering with farms in Hampshire and Dorset, including Sopley Farm. Their popular fruit and vegetable subscription boxes are a testament to their commitment to fresh, seasonal offerings.
The most perfect place for breakfast. A very cool atmosphere, love the interior design, welcome and quality food. Great ingredients, cooked to perfection. We highly recommend the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on sourdough toast, and I was so chuffed to see I could make my own breakfast from the ingredients - so I had 2 poached eggs, avocado slices, mushroom and bacon on sourdough toast. The mushrooms in particular were the best I’ve ever tasted. Very happy and we will be back!

This is a great shop, coffee shop and bistro in Beaulieu. As soon as you enter you can find the bread and sweet cakes and other. Luckily we found several vegan options which we tried and we enjoyed very much. The counter is at the front and very easy to find. We was attended quickly and we sat on a table. They warmed our food and added salad and coleslaw with an extra cost of £2.50 each side. Everything is homemade and it tastes yummy. The ambience is quiet and peaceful and the decorations very rural. We liked very much the customer service and the food so we will come back and recommend this business.
Marta F — Google review
Absolutely perfect. Every dish was cooked to a high standard with top-quality ingredients. My wife chose the French toast and added scrambled eggs, sausage, and beans — she couldn’t have been happier! I went for the full works, and it truly set us up for the day. Hands down, the best breakfast spot around!

First time at this Deli/Cafe and what a treat ! I had the Breakfast burrito and it was huge, could quite easily done two people, but so tasty that I eat all of it !This was so different to the usual English Breakfast (they do this as well), I would definitely have this again. And with the edition of Badhand coffee you can’t go wrong, with the deli as well which was very well stocked and you can’t buy Badhand coffee in bags. There was also a very good selection of fresh baked bread and cakes, and quiche’s and savoury pastries. I usually go to the garden centre but will definitely be using this from now on !

What a gorgeous place! Full of divine local produce. We had lunch today - lamb kofta flat breads, absolutely divine. Such a nice chap running it who couldn’t have been more welcoming. As a fellow local business owner who also has a high regard for top quality local produce I can whole heartedly recommend. Great menu, delicious fresh juice and lovely coffee. Thanks guys!
The F — Google review
I’d give this place 10 stars if I could! The absolute best place for breakfast, brunch, coffee and interesting, delicious local produce. The service is always friendly and helpful and there are never any grumpy or disconcerting glances if my children (Or dog!) are a bit noisy or drop something etc and the staff are always happy to give recommendations for anything if you need it. As a parent to two children with food intolerances, I also really appreciate how well the food is labelled with allergens too. The price of some items is a little higher than you’ll find in supermarkets but in line with what you would expect to pay for good quality, local produce. We’ve had so many happy brunches, cakes and coffees here as a family and with friends and we look forward to the many more to follow!

What a find! They serve the best coffee that I’ve had in a while and the full English was delish. Will be back. 😃
