Beaches
Spiaggia Testa del Polpo, also known as Capocchia du purpu in Sardinian, is a hidden gem located on the island of Giardinelli, just a stone's throw from La Maddalena. This stunning beach features rocky coves and several compact sandy stretches that invite visitors to dive into its crystal-clear waters for swimming and snorkeling adventures.
Very nice beach!! The colors are spectacular The access by car is pretty hard but if you have a suv then it’s fine, you can go close to the beach. We left our car at the end of the road and just walked for around 15 min. We were in a cloudy day and it was amazing, i just try to imagine how is in a sunny day 🙈 This place is a must if you’re on the island!!

The best beach we have been to in Sardinia, really worth the visit, beware of parking spaces during peak season. Definitely a must.
On P — Google review
We recently had the pleasure of visiting Spiaggia Testa del Polpo, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We started our adventure by taking a ferry to the location and then embarked on a scenic walk to the beach. The views along the way were absolutely breathtaking, with stunning landscapes that left us in awe. Once we arrived at the beach, we were greeted by crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The vibrant marine life added an extra layer of magic to our experience in the water. The beach itself was a hidden gem, providing a peaceful atmosphere where we could relax and soak up the sun. One of the highlights of our visit was the sunset. Watching the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, was nothing short of spectacular. It was a perfect way to end a day filled with adventure. Overall, the hike to Spiaggia Testa del Polpo is one of the most beautiful walks we have ever done. The combination of stunning views, swimming, snorkeling, and a picturesque sunset made for a fantastic day. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to explore the natural beauty of the area!

The "Octopus" beach is known for its fine, light-colored sand, but in my opinion, it's a bit overrated. Arriving by sea, you can admire a cove with spectacular and unforgettable colors. Unfortunately, once on land, the beach turns out to be small, damp, and full of seaweed, as well as garbage. I recommend exploring the smaller coves to the right just before reaching the main beach. If you really want to see it, maybe just for a photo, I suggest leaving your car after the stadium and taking a pleasant 15-minute walk.
Marco D — Google review
Beautiful magic place, crystal clear water, like in carribean, but lots of people. Later also many boats are coming.
Monika H — Google review
One of our favourite beaches! Crystal clear waters and full of little coves and opportunities to enjoy the beach! Beware that the vehicular road to get there is full of pointy rocks and dangerous for car tyres…. We recommend parking 10 mins away and walking.
YX M — Google review
Beautiful beach, but very crowded. Finding a free spot in the sand for a towel can be difficult.
Alex — Google review
Amazing place to visit, weather was not the best at that time off our visit but still OK for snorkeling.

Public beach
Nestled on the southwestern side of La Maddalena, Spiaggia di Punta Tegge is a captivating beach that boasts a stunning landscape framed by granite cliffs. The golden sands and uniquely shaped rocks, sculpted by the gentle caress of wind and waves, create an inviting atmosphere for visitors. While it can get busy due to its accessibility by car or bus, there are ample spaces to find your own little slice of paradise amidst the crowds.
Spiaggia di Punta Tegge is a hidden gem near the port of La Maddalena, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. It’s a perfect spot to relax, especially if you’re looking for a last stop before heading back. The scenery is breathtaking, with clear waters and picturesque rocky surroundings. Although the bar was closed when I visited in October, it didn’t take away from the beauty of the location. A must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy nature and tranquility.
Malgosya W — Google review
I've seen most of the best calas and beaches around the whole of Sardinia and Maddalena, this corner of paradise is among my favourite ones. Incredible scenery and wonderful colours with all the shades of blue you want for the gram, gorgeous boulders to climb and to jump from, with plenty of space for everyone to lie down like a pomodoro drying in the sun. There is also free parking with enough space to park even in August AND a fantastic restaurant which had great service, delicious fresh seafood with tasty wine pairing AND (I know, it doesn't stop) an amazing sunset spot right behind where you can take your drinks and enjoy... What else would you wish for? Activities? You can rent kayaks and arrange diving... So it must be super remote? Not even, ten minutes drive from town. FAN-TASTICO!
Emilien D — Google review
Sardinia is not for the faint of heart. This rugged island demands more than just admiration—it requires respect, a willingness to slow down, and an openness to its untamed beauty. It’s a place that calls to those who seek the wild corners of the world, where the Mediterranean's blue bleeds into the sky, and time seems to bend under the heat of the sun. Among Sardinia's many treasures, there’s a slice of paradise called Spiaggia di Punta Tegge. Punta Tegge doesn’t shout its virtues from the rooftops. You won’t find it in the glossies, with tourists elbowing for the perfect Instagram shot. No, Punta Tegge is quieter, more introspective, the kind of beach that reveals itself slowly, like a secret shared between friends. The water here is the kind of crystalline blue that defies description, as if Poseidon himself had handpicked this spot to showcase what the Mediterranean should look like at its best. It’s the sort of clarity that makes you want to dive in headfirst, even if you’re the type who usually prefers dry land. Granite rocks, smoothed by centuries of wind and sea, frame the cove, giving it a raw, unpolished beauty. There’s a café here—Zi Anto—perched right by the water’s edge. Now, you might think a place like this, with a view that would make millionaires jealous, would be just another tourist trap. But you’d be wrong. Zi Anto is the real deal. The coffee is strong enough to put hair on your chest, and the seafood? Fresh doesn’t even begin to cover it. It’s the kind of place where you lose track of time, sipping an espresso or nursing a glass of cold Vermentino while watching the sun dip low in the sky. This beach isn’t just for sunbathing and postcard views, though. Punta Tegge is for the doers, the adventurers. Kayaks are lined up, begging to be taken out for a spin, to explore the coastline in a way that no car or footpath could ever allow. If you’re feeling particularly bold, snorkel gear is available too, letting you slip beneath the surface and enter another world entirely—a world where fish dart between rocks, and the only sound is the rhythm of your own breathing. But even if you don’t set out on an aquatic adventure, Punta Tegge has its rewards. It’s a place that invites you to slow down, to savor the simple pleasures—cool water on a hot day, the smell of salt and sea, the warmth of the sun on your skin. It’s a place to reconnect, with the world and with yourself. As the sun begins to set, casting a golden glow over the granite rocks, you’ll understand why this place is special. It’s not just another beach. It’s a sanctuary, a reminder of why we travel in the first place—to find places like this, where the world still feels wild and beautiful, and where, for a few precious moments, we can forget everything else and just be.

The main part of the beach is quite average. There is a restaurant there too. If you continue walking further out though, you might find a private spot and the scenery gets quite nice :) the photos show a part you reach after walking a bit!

Nice quiet beach close to La Maddalena town centre. It’s a 15/20 minutes walking. Distance from the town main square. There are a couple of restaurants on the little peninsula Tegge. Go there at sunset if you want to experience the sun going down on the water.

La Maddalena, the largest island in the Maddalena archipelago, is part of a group of seven granite islands located in the Strait of Bonifacio between Corsica and Sardinia. These islands are protected as a national park, preserving their stunning sandy coves and clear blue waters from excessive development. The archipelago's natural flora and fauna are carefully safeguarded within this geo-marine national park.

Spiaggia di Cala Spalmatore is a serene spot for swimming, snorkeling, and boating with its crystal-clear waters and picturesque cliffs. Accessible by boat or a scenic 30-45-minute walk from the nearby fortification, this secluded cove offers a tranquil escape. The area is part of the La Maddalena archipelago, featuring other stunning beaches and coves on islands like Spargi, Budelli, Razzoli, and Santa Maria.
I visited Spiaggia di Cala Spalmatore on a sunny and warm October weekday, and it was an amazing experience. The beach was peaceful with only a few people, making it perfect for relaxation. Parking was easy to find, which made the trip even more convenient. The crystal-clear waters and beautiful surroundings create an ideal spot to enjoy nature. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a serene beach escape.

This beach has nothing interesting outside of the view on yachts that anchor in the bay. It’s fairly small, located near the road, the water feels on the dirty side, there is not so much place and it’s not super picturesque. Overall I’d avoid this one
Alexey S — Google review
Nice beach, I think there are nicer one around the island but my partner was very fond of this one. If you are keen you can walk through the water to get to some quiet spots :) i stepped on a sea urchin so be careful!
Korina K — Google review
Wonderful place with many advantages. Great service offered there. Umbrellas and sunbeds are high quality and comfortable. Beach is located in a very quite place protected from wind. Anna Lisa offers so great support and possibility of earlier reservation. Strongly recommended
Ark M — Google review
Great little beach on La Maddalena. Rock formations surround this beach on three sides, making it naturally sheltered from the wind. On the very left there’s a tiny separated part, so if you’re lucky, you can fee like you are all alone there

Beaches
Cala Andreani is a stunning and secluded beach located on the southernmost peninsula of Caprera. Surrounded by pinewoods, this picturesque beach offers plenty of shade and a sloping shoreline that leads into the turquoise sea. The area is rich in marine life, with starfish and fish visible in the clear waters near the shore. Despite being well-known to locals, Cala Andreani remains relatively quiet, making it an ideal place to relax.
I am not going to give mother nature less than 5 stars but unfortunately today, 19 May 2025, the beach was covered in seaweed (algae)! It looked like there was some work being done to clean it up but we decided to go down the coast toward the fort and we found a beach without any seaweed.
Medgreenguy — Google review
The water at Cala Andreani Beach is a beautiful shade of blue. However, it can get quite crowded during the day. My experience was okay. The water is shallow, so there isn’t much adventure to be had. Overall, it’s a decent beach to visit.
VISHNU K — Google review
A beautiful sandy beach with natural shade, hidden from a large number of tourists. Part of the road to the beach is bad, with a lot of bumps, but it was worth coming. The beach is reached by a narrow path.
Đorđe G — Google review
The beach was quite underwhelming to me. It was quite dirty with dried seaweed and other stuff, there was not too much space and it is very popular so gets crowded. The water color was nice and had turquoise parts but was not as concentrated as in some other beaches. The water was also very shallow. The upside was that this side was not as windy as the other side. The road was not very comfortable as it had a lot of narrow places and it was difficult to pass by the cars coming the opposite direction - in some places the road had small cliffs also. Parking was available in the evening but I can imagine it gets very crowded at the peak of the day. Also the parking is semi legal with some spots marked for parking and other parts explicitly prohibited for parking. Overall I would not go back
Alexey S — Google review
Clean water and an amazing view. However the last few minutes of the road was a dirt road with a lot of bumps and the beach had dried sea weed on the sand.
Saleh H — Google review
Gorgeous beach and water, I recommend arriving no later than 9am in peak season
Giovanni — Google review
This beach has good reason to be called the Emerald Beach. It is a crystal clear water where you can see plenty of pretty fish without having to go through the waves and snorkel. Although it is a well-known beach to the locals, it was quite quiet place to relax. The temperature of the water may seem cold at first, but soon your body temperature will get adjusted to the point where you don't want to get out of the water. After swimming in sea, you can feel sticky that you want to take a shower, but it is different here. Water is so clean and beautiful.

Beach
Bassa Trinita Beach, located in the northern part of La Maddalena Island, is a popular destination in Sardinia known for its stunning white sand and crystal-clear waters. The beach features three coves and a nature trail showcasing native flora. While it can get busy during the summer months, the shallow waters extending 20 meters from the shore make it ideal for families with children. Visitors can explore rocks and islets perfect for snorkeling while enjoying impressive sunset views.
Super nice beach with a terraced bar that opens up during peak season. Parking space can be limited in June-August and can be more windy than other beaches.
On P — Google review
The beach is very picturesque but extremely crowded - probably the most crowded beach I’ve visited in Sardinia. It has several parts - some more regular U-shaped sandy parts but also people put their towels onto the rocks and everywhere possible. Some parts are more shallow and those parts look gorgeous - this is also where boats usually anchor. The more regular U-shaped parts get super crowded to the extent when I don’t feel comfortable anymore. Also, there is no legal parking so everyone just parks along the road where the parking is prohibited. This beach is definitely great to visit from the boat or a dinghy when you can just swim and not care about a place to sit. In summer season a regular visit would not be as appealing to me though
Alexey S — Google review
The most picturesque beach on La Maddalena - windy, but beautiful. While it was busy, it didn’t feel overcrowded. There’s a beach bar serving food. The water was rich with beautiful schools of fish.
Boryana G — Google review
Very nice beach with fine sand. It was my favorite of La Maddalena! During peak hour maybe 5-10 minutes walking are required because you need to park away.

Beautiful beach, pretty crowded during the high season -you need to walk a few minuts from the parking place.
Ana M — Google review
Beautiful beach. We arrived before 10 am, which was perfect since it wasn’t crowded yet and parking was easy along the road. It was quite windy, though, so the waves were fairly big.
Alex — Google review
One of Europe's most beautiful beaches. Parking is difficult in July and August. There is a kiosk. You walk across the dunes to the beach. From mainland Sardinia you will need the ferry to La Maddalena which is quick but not cheap. The clear water has rocks and islets which is great for snorkeling. The views are great. There is usually some wind so it's not too warm. Good atmosphere too, people know they are in a special place.

Public beach
Capocchia d'ù purpu, also known as Testa del Polpo, is a stunning beach located on the Giardinelli peninsula, connected to La Maddalena by an isthmus and opposite Caprera. The beach gets its name from a natural rock formation that resembles the head of an octopus. With fine sand and shallow, crystal-clear waters in shades of blue and green, it's a picturesque spot for sunbathing and swimming.
Great beaches around here. We went beginning of October and it was quite calm. We visited this beach twice, first on a windy day and the second time on a sunny and calm day. There are a few small hiking paths, the water is beautiful, and the area is filled with interesting looking rocks you can also hike on!
Roshan V — Google review
The beach isn’t very big and fills up quite quickly, we chose to sunbathe across the beach along the cliffs for a more peaceful experience. The road to the beach is in poor condition, some patches with asphalt but mostly gravel/bigger stones (no problem for cars with higher ride height or mountain bikes). Recommend to bring some snacks/food/water since there are no restaurants/food trucks close by. Beautiful turquoise water and semi-fine sand!
Julia — Google review
Its a beautiful place with easy access and parking. The only think is that de beach is very small and is not as beautiful as mothers.
Leonardo P — Google review
A hidden gem You can walk but recommend hire a moped and go slowly not a great track. Worth the bumpy ride Go here before the world discovers it . It's one of the most stunning places you will go
Tom M — Google review
The water is the most emerald in colour in the entire archipelago. A great enjoyment to swim with impressive rock formations all around you.
Julius P — Google review
beautiful place to moor. different hues of blue and green, stunning landscape. can be reached by car on a very bad road with many holes.
Yamila P — Google review
Beautiful, but many other and better places. Sand is stoney/rocky (more like gravel) and is not fine at all - not sure where all the people with the reviews who says it is fine sand has been or have experienced other places. Getting there is a pain in the a..! Road is completely off-road, with huge holes, big stones, etc. You can park almost next to the beach, but so do yourself a favor and drive all the way there, as walking there is a nightmare. When you have parked, you must find the sign with the beach, it is located next to a huge rock. You will have to go around the around, through the little path, which will take you 2-3 min. And then you reach the beach.
Niclas M — Google review
The ultimate beach! White sand, emerald water, amazing scenery. It is smallish, so be there early to get your spot. There is parking lot 200 meters from the beach,. The road is OK if you driver slowly and avoid few potholes.

Spiaggia di Cala Coticcio, also known as Sardinian Tahiti, is a stunning beach nestled in a deep cove surrounded by rugged cliffs. Accessible via a 1.5-hour hike from a designated parking area, this hidden gem offers swimming and sunbathing opportunities. It's important to note that access to the beach and the surrounding area now requires a special permit and must be done with a local guide to preserve its natural beauty.
🏝️Paradise beach , truly stunning (specially in low season when at some point we were just in 4). Once you arrive to the 1st beach, continue for a bit more cross the rocks on the left side; you will be rewarded with an even better little Cala only accessible otherwise by boat/swimming. 🅿️ We left the car parked on one side of the road , at the beginning walk. Easy to find following google maps. 👟The walk from the road is approx 1.65km / 35-40min. It is moderate hike with many up & down hills. It can feel tougher with the heat. Strongly recommend to bring comfortable shoes & enough water. ⛱️ If possible bring an umbrella to cover from the sun as there is not much shadow in the calas. Also it’s a good spot for 🤿 ♻️ As there is no trash in the beach /parking please bring back with you all of it to ensure we keep clean the natural park.

Could be our favorite beach in all of Sardinia! Very small but easily accessible by boat and swimming in, incredible photo opps!
Shaun A — Google review
One of Sardinia’s protected beach. Only 60 people allowed per day. No boats, no shortcuts—just one hour of rocky descent (and a bit of rope-aided scrambles). We went with an official guide on a group hike. It’s not a stroll in the park. It’s a hike that earns its reward. And when you finally jump into that crystal-clear Sardinian water, every drop feels like nature’s applause. Was it worth the climb, the sweat, the steep descent? Absolutely. Would I do it again? Also yes. Coticcio is a marvel. Some places aren’t just beautiful—they’re worth earning. The list of official guides can be found in the official park website, most of which can be contacted via WhatsApp. We went on the afternoon session, which means climbing back up with the sun not in front of our face, makes it easier.
Eggya C — Google review
Really beautiful beach, but a tough trip to get there. We were quite unprepared as there wasn't much information, so I'll share some here. The entire hike is in the sun, so bring enough water! We were sweating like crazy and there is a lot of climbing and descending. There are some tough spots where you will have to descend sitting, so make sure you have your hands free and aren't heavy loaded. You should wear sneakers of some sort, because there is someone checking if you do at the beginning of the trial. She won't allow you to do the trial if you wear flip flops, and with good reason. The beach consists of two beautiful little beaches divided by rocks and the water is delightful to swim in after the hike. As the lady said, the trial is recommended for experienced hikers, and they will take about 45 min to go to the beach and another 45 to return.

Spiaggia del Relitto is one of the favorite beaches on Caprera Island, known for its white sand and wide expanse, making it suitable for families. Accessible by boat or a slightly bumpy road, this beach offers crystal-clear waters and a beautiful location. It's recommended to arrive early to secure parking and avoid crowds. While lacking showers and with limited toilet facilities nearby, the beach provides ample space and easy access from the car park.
Absolutely beautiful, worthy of the long bike ride from La Maddalena

Best beach, easy to swim & absolutely beautiful. Stayed here until sunset.

Came in August. Too crowded. Drive here was stressful due to number of cards on a narrow stony track! In my opinion not especially pretty, unimpressive bland views here, sea not as crystal clear as beaches the many beaches I went to near Olbia. Dark brown rocks remind me of southern Menorca. In fact the whole of this island in summer would be much better with no cars allowed like other small islands in France and Bahamas.
Mary H — Google review
Beautiful little sand beach. Very wind. They have option to rent an umbrella and chairs. I didn’t used it. I used the natural shade from the trees around the bay. It worked very fine.
Tati S — Google review
accessibility by car is not the greatest, so cars with a lower clearance will definitely scrape, also there are much more people compared to other beaches in the archipelago

Difficult accès by car but hey, we are here for this amazing beach so much a nice view! This is so perfect! End of October, really nice weather and no one on the beach! Paradise 🥰

Gorgeous white sand beach, turquoise water, quiet (no loud music allowed) possibility to hire lounges and umbrellas if you want and a good cafe/bar with friendly staff on the way in.

Beach with dreamy clear water and fine sand. They even have brushes at the exit of the beach to clean off the sand of your feet. Possible to rent a sunshade and two sunbeds for 50€ on one side of the beach, but is not required. You can easily lay down with your own towel and sunshade on the other side of the beach. A small restaurant is located behind the beach. Beach itself is not too big and got crowded in the afternoon. Overall one of the most wonderful beaches I have seen in Europe

Cala Napoletana is a stunning beach located on the west coast of Caprera Island in Sardinia. It is renowned for its pristine white sand, crystal-clear waters, and lush Mediterranean vegetation. The beach features two small coves with floury white sand, perfect for sunbathing or playing matkot.
One of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. The 30-40 min hike is well worth it. There are no facilities once you get there but worth stopping at a little bar for a well deserved drink after the hike.
Wioletta R — Google review
A gorgeous beach which is a great reward of a 30 min easy/moderate difficulty hike which starts roughly at 41.23007° N, 9.47310° E. The hike takes 30 mins of good pace. You can park your car along the road semi legally there at the foothill of the Garibaldi museum. During the hike you would see amazing rocks and overall the hike (at least half of it) is very picturesque. Unfortunately there was some trash on the beach itself left by ungrateful people. Another huge downside was that the water was just teeming with jellyfish, the kind that burns when it touches your skin, so swimming was very unpleasant. It was the only beach I’ve been to in Sardinia where I saw jellyfish. The strip for swimming overall was narrow so probably not as interesting to swim unless you go far into the open sea. It was also pretty windy at the end of August. Overall the beach itself has its downsides but it’s a gem from the beauty perspective and is not super crowded like some other beaches - if you go there to meet the sunset there is a chance that you will be the only one or share the beach with only a couple of people. I definitely recommend visiting this beach despite the above mentioned downsides
Alexey S — Google review
Stunning beach. Went on mid September and it was not crowded. Shallow, calm, transparent waters. You arrive there through an easy 45-60 min hike, at a slow pace and stopping to admire the view.

Came here after being refused entry for not having a guide for Cotticio. Great substitute, water is clean and shallow. It is about a 45 minutes hike from Capybara path, simple hike with no gear or required footwear to access.

Wonderful hike to Cala Napoletana - amazing views, the trail is not bad at all, only you have to endure the hot weather (if you're doing it during hot summer days). Snacks and plenty of water and mandatory!
Ramona Z — Google review
Beautiful beach located on Caprera Island in the La Maddalena. The hike was easy - it took us 2 hours to finish full loop because we celebrated the birthday and we did photos at every step. The beach is small, white sand, turquoise water. There are 2 beaches here, one next to each other. You have to come early to enjoy the beauty of these beaches.
Sonata S — Google review
Beautiful view, but the water in the first cove you reach down from the trail is kind of murky. Go over the rocks to the second cove where it is more clear. Also jellyfish today, we saw at least 10 in the short time we were in the water.
Jennifer H — Google review
Cala Napoletana is a charming little beach that offers a stunning view, definitely worth discovering. Accessible only by boat or on foot, the journey to this beach is an adventure in itself. If you choose to hike, be prepared for a 35-40 minute trek from the nearest parking spot. The hike is particularly beautiful and interesting, with the path winding through picturesque landscapes and offering frequent encounters with wild goats. These friendly creatures add a unique touch to the experience, making the journey as memorable as the destination. Once you arrive, you'll be rewarded with the serene beauty of Cala Napoletana, a perfect spot to relax and soak in the natural surroundings. However, it's important to note that there are no amenities at the beach, so be sure to bring everything you need for your visit. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or an adventurous hike, Cala Napoletana has something special to offer.

Accessible via a 20-minute hike through macchia, the path to the beach provides sublime views of the sea. While there are no facilities or disabled access, it's a lovely and tranquil spot.
This is a wonderful place to go. The water is crystal clear and incredibly transparent.

I really would have loved to visit this beach. BUT: you have to book a guide and pay the absolutely ridiculous price of 25€ for it. Who needs a babysitter for a 15min walk to the beach, who also watches me hang out there? This is a no-go for me. If any of the Park authorities read this: if you want to preserve nature, you are heading in the totally wrong direction here. Basically, you are setting up a high paywall which is also highly inconvenient for everyone. No local is going to pay 25€ for a 15min hike and beach.
Kilian M — Google review
Need a guide, needlessly, I have been to a few beaches in Italy in nature reserves, but have never required a guide costing a minimum of €25 per person, which is provided by a fixed list of guides…seems like a well organised scam. Get a boat tour and avoid these costs.
Fred T — Google review
Don’t underestimate the walk down! It’s all rocks. The beach is OK but just as crowded as everywhere else. Lots of wasps for some reason.
Valeria T — Google review
We were passing by during a 2 hour hike. Very calm and relaxing place! You can’t get there by car, but you won’t need longer than 20min by foot.
Maximilian S — Google review
Lovely beach, but silly handling of access by the community: you need to call a number and book a guide for access, apparently due to environmental reasons. We went down without one and were sent back, but could at least have a quick dip in the water. All this while five speedboats were in the bay, flying drones and listening to music. But that‘s Italy...

The beach is relatively secluded, providing a tranquil setting for relaxation and enjoying the sunset. Additionally, it serves as the landing beach to access the General's House Museum further inland.
This a beautiful place with cristal clear water. October is a perfect time to see the island - warm but not hot. Calm and no crowd. You can find many parking places around and high trees to hide from the sun.

Cala Caprarese is a somewhat secluded beach that can be reached via a 45-minute trail. It features small coves and boulders to explore, making it an ideal spot for hiking enthusiasts. The beach is known for its unique and beautiful landscape, but it's important to note that it may not be suitable for families due to the presence of nude sunbathers. Additionally, visitors should be aware that jellyfish are currently present in the area.
Small cove the rocky coast. Accessible by boat, Even when the sea is windy, the Caprese cove is nice calm. Several tiny sandy beach strips, perfect swimming spot
Ints M — Google review
Don't go to Cala Caprarese. Save your time for better places. Even though so many people left nice reviews and beautiful photos, I'd not recommend this place for many reasons: 1. Accessibility. It is quite FAR. We needed to walk approximately 30 min from the car parking (next to the water reservoir and Cala Garibaldi) - literally ups and downs all the way. In the end you need to go down to the beach though big rocks and sharp plants. EVEN climbing. Not worth it to go with kids. Don't get me wrong. I like hiking and walking a lot but it was better to choose nicer place to spend time. 2. Cleanliness. IT IS DIRTY. On photos you could see the garbage that is there for many years. River which is next to the beach is full of plastic and smells bad. 3. Beach is a bit small but kind of WILD. So that if you prefer privacy, it will be a good place. 4. BEES are everywhere but on this beach there were too many. That's why after 10 min staying there we decided to leave feeling disappointed. Although I didn't like this beach there was a surprise. A couple of wild goats climbed the rocks. That's why I will give some points to this beach. Also rocks are nice.
Oleg M — Google review
It's a hike to get here, approx 30 minutes compl3tely exposed with no shade or other cover. The way back is completely uphill. Not many people were here which was a bonus. On the other hand, the beach was the least nice we've visited in Sardinia thus far. A noticeable about of trash on the beach.

The Monti d'Arena beach is situated in the northern part of the island and while its sand may not be as white as some other beaches, it remains a worthwhile attraction, particularly for families with young children. It boasts a spacious shoreline and gentle waters, rendering it suitable for all age groups.
Amazing beach. Fine rock sand, calm waters with almost no waves in July. It was an amazing azure blue once the sun really shined. If you snorkeling, stick along the rocks to the right of the beach (if you’re facing the water) and go as far as you want. If you can make it out to the rock in distance, it is well worth the swim.

Easy to get to, relatively large compared to the other beaches on the island. The beach itself is small rocks, but a bit into the water it’s white sand. We had a great time
Nasch — Google review
This beach is not extremely picturesque but it strikes a good balance of things. It’s very coarse sand so doesn’t stick to your body at all. It doesn’t get super crowded - there is still plenty of people but you can find a spot. Swimming is nice and the water is neither shallow nor super deep. The surrounding mountains and trees are beautiful. What is also nice is that there is some pretty big fish there so it’s interesting for snorkeling. Parking is semi legal along the road. Overall nothing in this beach is outstanding but overall as a balance of things it’s probably my favourite one in the area.

The water was lovely, the bar on the beach plays really loud music which disturbs the vibe of the place. There is no toilet and the bar insists you buy a water bottle for 1 euro to use the restroom. Easy to reach and free parking.

I guess we were one of the few people to experience this beach alone. It was very windy and the waves were quite big, so there was no one else there. Spiaggia di Punta Crucitta is a hidden gem that offers a stunning beach experience away from the crowds. The shallow waters of Cormorant Cove make it perfect for families with children, and the crystal-clear water gives the impression of a natural swimming pool. While the 30-40 minute hike to reach this paradise may require proper footwear and some snacks, visitors are rewarded with breathtaking views and pristine waters once they arrive.
Crystal clear water, and gorgeous view. Protected cove offers a cold but comfortable swim. Ok for a snorkel but not a lot of fish to see. About a 45 minute hike from the trailhead. Also, watch out for urchins!

We decided to visit this beach after spotting it on Google Maps. It was supposed to take around 30 minutes to reach, but it ended up taking us about an hour because we weren’t wearing hiking boots and didn’t have a stick to help with the rougher parts. Despite the challenge, it was absolutely worth it — if you have good physical fitness and healthy knees, you’ll love it! Recommendations: Wear proper hiking boots Bring a walking stick Pack food and plenty of water Be aware that parking is limited, so plan accordingly The beach itself is stunning and definitely worth the effort to get there!

A 30-40 min trek that’s worth every minute. Wear decent shoes and pack snacks. Beautiful views and water.

FANTASTIC! After a nice (rather easy) ~30 minute hike you will find this beutiful heaven on earth. Not many people there and it was protected from the rather strong western wind. There are some small rocks in the water so bathing shoes would have been nice, but not neccessary! Highly recommend a visit!

Scenic spot
Cala Coticcio, often referred to as Tahiti Beach, is a stunning gem nestled within the Maddalena Archipelago, which boasts over 60 islands and islets renowned for their breathtaking beaches and crystal-clear waters. Located on Caprera Island, this picturesque cove offers vibrant colors that will leave you in awe. To reach Cala Coticcio, adventurers must embark on a challenging yet rewarding 45-minute trek along a rocky path—definitely not flip-flop territory!
Beautiful bay with wonderful colors and clear water, absolutely amazing. The pathway to get to the beach is challenging because it is steep and with many rocks (flip flops not recommended, trekking/trail shoes are the best). It takes 45 minutes to reach the bay. You are not allowed to walk on your own, but you need to book a guide (€25 per person) that goes with you / a group. Cap and a lot of water also recommended because there are not facilities. Keep your eyes wide open to see wild goats!

Scam. Another italian way to make you pay for nothing. you can freely pollute with your boat, but you cannot freely walk. Let's be honest you are in the 'mafia' country and they speciallize in making you pay for nothing. Have you ever wondered that pasta is made from flour and that the ingredients of a tipical pasta dish are more than cheap and afterwards the italians charge you 10 times that cost.....? I'm tired of having to pay more than 20 euros for a dish that does have no fish neither meat. That's why I rent and apartment cook myself for ten times cheaper, and avoid scams like this beach. If the 'official guides' want to drive a 4x4 audi it won't be at my expense. Scams like that make the region poorer and for that reason everybody flies nord to Lombardia for work. Garibaldi would't be happy of this mess of a country.

It’s not possible to have a better experience. Luigi is clearly an extremely experienced captain and an excellent host, taking us to all the best spots (and even to areas inaccessible to others). Govinda is a man of all trades, between skippering the yacht, he was cooking a delicious lunch and acted as an incredibly knowledgable tour guide. Everyone we met on the boat was lovely and were repeat customers (which says a lot). The boat was not overcrowded and felt very intimate in comparison to many of the other tours we saw on our voyage. Could not recommend this trip enough, we did not want the day to end.

Small-minded and rude guards patrol the place. If you so much as step on the sandy shore, you're gonna get shouted at, and treated like a eco-criminal. Shameful! Tourists must be treated with politeness! The absurd thing is that there isn't even a place where you can leave your belongings, before entering the beach. So, basically, the council imposes restrictions, but doesn't balance that out with services that mitigate the inconvenience of said restictions. This is tourism managed by Italian politicians.
