Good food and service for dinner. Glad we were able to check it out after watching it on an old Anthony Bordain episode. Stands the test of time! Cozy and warm atmosphere inside although they also offer outdoor seating if available. One of our pasta dishes was a little too salty for my taste but the raw seafood and seafood in general was amazing, especially the calamari. Be sure to ask for the specials and what they may be out of before you decide what you want to order. We made reservations about 6 to 8 weeks ahead to ensure our reservation. Solid Venetian cuisine!

We did not have reservations here, but they quickly set a table for us outside. The service was excellent and the food outstanding! We had the specials, starting with the gnocchi with baby squid - it melted in your mouth. Our main dishes, the tuna stacked with eggplant and a local fish, both beautifully presented and equally delicious. We ended with some dessert wines and a grappa semifredo. It was strong but also very good. Highly recommend Al Covo for a fantastic dinner!

I made a reservation here in September and enjoyed my experience overall. I ordered a peach bellini, which I typically don't order, but it sounded really refreshing on a warm day. It came with fresh peaches in the glass which was a delicious touch. They brought over a small bite from the chef that was an egg salad sandwiched in between bread. It was good but not great. I ordered the rock crab that came with a small serving of sauce on the side and it was delicious. With that being said, there were quite a few shell pieces left in the crab meat. If there was only a couple, I wouldn't say anything, but there was a considerable amount. For the main course I ordered the octopus gnocchi. The gnocchi was tender, but the flavors didn't seem to go together very well. The service and atmosphere were decent. Overall, it was a good experience, but I'm not sure that I would return to try something else.

Just eaten at Al Covo. We had a fantastic meal. Delightful location not far from St Marks Square. A good choice of food, especially if you like fish. I opted for sole and my wife chose a beautiful pasta dish. A great choice of wine from the local regions. Topped off with a cheesecake to die for. The recommendations for Al Covo are well deserved

Lived up to the recommendations! The food is soo fresh and creative, I enjoyed all of it! I booked this a two weeks in advance and could only get a lunch time so book early! I had the beetroot ravioli - it was perfect summer lunch dish. It was fresh with the poppy seeds and light. I also got the hummus with local vegetables, also good, I was surprised the vegetables were still hot but good nonetheless

Fresh and delicious restaurant with good service. Everything was delicious! We ordered the delicious crudo appetizer and 3 different pasta dishes. Black ink, prawn, and mussels. They served us snails in garlic and parsley as an amuse bouche. It was tender, so clean tasting, and delicious. At the end, we had to order another mussels pasta. It was that good! I recommend to make reservations. There’s an 8Euro charge per person for sit down in the restaurant. That’s the only downside.

This restaurant honestly was one of the best we’ve ever visited - excellent, very traditional Venetian style food with an emphasis on locally sourced seafood - top ingredients beautifully presented with a touch of old fashioned decadence. The sommelier was outstanding and even offered to change a bottle of bubbly even though we had already drunk from it. Features in one of Anthony Bourdaine’s food shows - very rightly so. Absolutely loved it.

We booked a table for lunch a couple of months before our trip to Venice. The food here is amazing. Delicious and fresh. You can't go wrong with any of the items on the menu. Tuna tataki was wonderful as were all of our mains. It's a small place which is why it's booked out well in advance. If you like your seafood, then definitely come here. It's not cheap but it's worth it.

We were recommended Osteria alle Testiere by friends who visit often, and it was the highlight of our trip to Venice & Verona. The food was outstanding and the hospitality from Luca and his team was warm and welcoming. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch trying lots of local seafood (including oysters, clams, scallops, fish, pasta alongside exceptional veg) with excellent wine, followed by a tiramisu and coffee. Their menu changes daily based on the best ingredients available and so they say that because of this, all of their dishes are recommended - we’d have to agree! This is a gem of a restaurant. To ensure you don’t miss out, we’d highly recommend booking well in advance due to the small restaurant size.

Osteria alle Testiere has quickly become our favorite restaurant in Venice. For pescatarians like us, it's truly the best place you could visit in this magical city. The restaurant is small and cozy, so reservations are a must. You're greeted by a wonderful team that makes you feel so welcome. The quality of the food and the attention to detail in every dish is outstanding. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, with the menu based on the daily catch and vegetables from their own garden. The dessert selection is also superb and we'll definitely be back!

Absolute cracking restaurant. For me one of the best - if not THE BEST in Venice 2 Months later and we are here again ! As always a really great experience. Oyster from the lagoon- small but soooo good. Best spaghetti vongole that I had EVER. We will come back every time when we visit Venice. Reservation absolutely necessary

Very intimate and sophisticated restaurant, yet the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Every thing we had was well balanced with amazing distinct flavors. It's a great way to enjoy authentic venetian meals.

This restaurant is simple but exquisite. Had a recommendation from a friend and booked way ahead (literally 3 months ahead!) as we’d heard such good things and didn’t want to be disappointed for our one night in Venice. The restaurant is incredibly compact, probs max 10 tables, which gives a charming and attentive atmosphere, matched by the utterly wonderful staff. Many people tried to get a table by walking in, but were turned away, so we definitely felt very lucky indeed to have reserved in advance. As an apologetically English speaking tourist, it was lovely that the restaurant was full of a mix of both locals and international guests. The waiters were equally kind and attentive to all clientele (sometimes I feel like you can get a raw deal/ cold shoulder as a tourist…but not in this place). The atmosphere was very relaxed and incredibly pleasant. The menu is perfect: a good range, but not overwhelming, with a carefully selected range of fresh seafood and seasonal dishes. We had scallops (insane!), mussels, tuna ravioli, and turbot. Everything was exceptionally seasoned and well presented. The attention to detail in the sauces was particularly note worthy. We finished with a tiramisu (criminal not to) which we both agreed was the best we’d ever eaten. To be honest my only regret is that we couldn’t just order the whole menu: looking at other guests’ meals/tables it seemed that every dish would have been divine. The only tiny area for improvement might be a more extensive alcohol-free drinks list. The wine list was extensive but for non-drinkers there were just a couple of choices. That defo isn’t anything to cry about, though; bottom line is this restaurant is fabulous and provides a relaxed, authentically Italian experience. Make a reservation now, and tell your friends…(or maybe don’t, cos then it’ll get too busy…)

Super funny, friendly and entertaining waiters! Also very accommodating, helpful and knowledgeable about their craft! They made me a whole beautiful vegan pasta dish off the menu, that was superb! My non vegan companions were also very happy :) thanks for the delicious meal in a warm and homey space! You can tell they cook with love, passion and knowledge. It was a pleasure to watch the experts at their craft

BEST CICCETTI 👌 10/10. FRIENDLY. WELCOMING. Has seats and fresh made. FUN OWNERS.... with bathrooms too !!! SO MUCH BETTER than the "more famous" schiavi down the walk, with No bathroom, no seats and NO SMILES EVER. Come here instead !!!!!

At the side of the canal with a nice view and a small park just in front. My favorite stop for far for local food and great drinks. Good value for the money! For €10 you will have two o three small local bocadillos and a lovely well prepare aperol spritz Usually has a queue but deserve the time

Great little spot for a drink. Lots of locals come here as well as visitors/ tourists. This bar is located right across from a gondola repair shop. We came on a Sunday so it was closed but if you come during the week during the season there's always work being done on some gondolas and it's supposed to be a really neat thing to see.

Great spot to grab a drink and/or panini. The service was wonderful, very friendly and accommodating even though I don’t speak Italian! I was served a delicious “original” Spritz - not Aperol! The bartender recommend I try what she called the “original” (I forget if she gave it another name, sorry!). Very refreshing and a lovely view while enjoying your drink & quick bite. (Also they have a clean restroom for customers.)

Delicious cicchetti and an excellent Aperol Spritz. It’s often busy inside, but you can sit outside on the steps. When you take your food outside, they’ll warn you to watch out for seagulls – which really amused me. It’s not an empty warning; they truly lurk around, ready to snatch your meal if they get the chance. The food was excellent in taste and perfect for a light lunch or snack. As a bonus, there’s a lovely view of the boatyard. Highly recommended for a quick, tasty stop.

Very good. Simple, effective flavours, no fuss yet delicious. Not too pricey too, and mostly locals The tuna with caramelised onions in particular was well liked by the both of us So good we immediately went back to get the tuna again, and the salted cod Salted cod was mild and creamy

Delicious food!! Long line but it moves quite fast and the service is super friendly. It was quite hot inside so I recommend taking your food to the park across the canal.

We finally got to visit the iconic Harry’s Bar. It had a rough beginning as the maître d’ was rude and snooty. The food was remarkable. The service started out well but quickly faded. Harry’s is over-the-top expensive. $30US for a tiny, watery Bloody Mary. $25US for an itsy bitsy Bellini. We enjoyed our expertly prepared meals. But never again.

The iconic Harry's bar is a great little bar. We booked our reservation as we were a group of 8. I think it's a good idea to book ahead as it fills up quickly. Be mindful there is a dress code, no shorts for men. Nice Jeans are ok. Their famous Bellini is really good! And the food was delicious 😋. We enjoyed the veal chop and ravioli, it truly one of the best we've had! A little pricey but you have to enjoy it once. We were here on October 2025 and with drinks and the 10 euro cover charge it came to about 200 euro per couple. Staff is very friendly and helpful. A large selection of wines and cocktails. Enjoy! We did!

An institution in Venice. I came here for an Aperitivo and had the renowned Bellini (22 euros) and a coffee (5 euros). It is a rather small bar, so you may not be lucky to get seated. Also, there is a dress code in the evening - shorts are not allowed.

Harry’s Bar in Venice has a nice atmosphere and a classic charm, but overall, it’s nothing extraordinary. The food was okay — tasty but served in rather small portions, and the prices are definitely on the higher side for what you get. The staff, however, were very friendly and welcoming, and the overall vibe of the place was great. It’s worth visiting once for the experience, but I wouldn’t call it a must-try spot in Venice.

A true Venetian classic! Harry’s Bar is everything you hope it will be — elegant, timeless, and full of history. We stopped in for the full experience, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. The Bellini, of course, is a must — light, fresh, and perfectly crafted (there’s a reason it was invented here!). The service was impeccable — warm, professional, and attentive without being overbearing. You can feel the pride and tradition in every detail, from the polished wood bar to the crisp linens and classic Italian dishes. The atmosphere is intimate and sophisticated, with that old-world charm that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another era. It’s easy to imagine Hemingway himself sitting at the bar. Yes, it’s pricey — but worth every euro for the experience, the history, and the feeling of being part of something iconic. This is a restaurant that’s very traditional and upscale and holds a lot of history but you need to be aware that this does come with a price. We were warmly greeted and asked if we preferred upstairs or downstairs, we chose up as it seemed crowded downstairs. We were walked past the bar and the kitchen and were invited to walk up some spiral stairs while the hostess took a different speeder route where she then met us at the top. After being seated in a room full of New York images and natural light from outside we were given menus but before we could order we were asked if we wanted a Bellini. Due to its history it was obvious that’s the main go to. Ultimately we ordered 4 Bellini’s (they are really small) two club sandwiches and water for the table, this order cost €182 The Bellini’s are very good but expensive for the size €22 each. The sandwich was fine but nothing amazing. Ultimately however If you are interested in a bit of history then I would recommend if your budget stretches to it but I wouldn’t say it was a must do in the city and you can fine good Bellini’s and better food else where for a more affordable price.

Wine, Cicchetti, and Atmosphere to Savour - Right on the canal, this spot serves a great range of excellent-value wines by the glass. The cicchetti were a fantastic bonus for us (see photos): tuna with horseradish, lardo with honey and chocolate, smoked salmon with mascarpone. My late mother would have loved it here — sipping her wine, soaking up the atmosphere, and quietly working out the relationships of the folks around her. They are all clear about what is not on offer.

Whao, Whao, Whao! I’d seen this on “Somebody feed Phil” and was keen to try it whilst I was in Venice. Believe me - for lunch this is perfect. It’s a bit off the beaten track and if you go around lunch time be prepared to wait, but the wait’s so worth it. They serve cicchetti, little tapas like bites but don’t let any Venetian hear you call them tapas! They serve every mixture you can imagine. Lots of fish and cheeses involved. My personal favourite was the Gorgonzola and pear. Great for a lunch. We had 9 with water for about €17 I could have had a glass of wine for €1.50. Traditional Venetian fare that’s worth seeking out. If like like food you’ll love here.

An excellent choice for cicchetti! I came at lunchtime and had 8 cicchetti (including tuna with cacao, which was delicious) and a glass of wine. There are no seats to sit down, but there is plenty of space to stand and have your cicchetti and wine (or coffee, if you prefer). Very reasonably priced.

Delicious fish sandwiches, I fell in love🤤. There are very big choice of sandwiches - not only with fish. Prices are really good (1.6 eur for sandwich (24.09.25). Staff are pleasant and helpful, they know English. I'm glad that I found this place. Venice is outstanding!

The best cicchetti I had in Venice. Came here twice during my stay. Huge selection and well priced at 1.6€ each. Get the tuna and cocoa-an unexpected pairing that ended up being my favorite cicchetto I tried.

Cicchetti was good but this place gets crazy busy. Honestly crazy trying to order here. If you speak Italian you probably have a significantly easier time but if you are a tourist - this can interesting to navigate.

Love this restaurant. Booked for lunch, was seated outdoors in a quiet and breezy alley. Food was spectacular, seafood was so fresh. Loved their glasswares too! Highly recommend and do book in advance.

An excellent restaurant in Venice, recommended to me by a local. I’m glad I’d made a reservation to dine here. The food was delicious and the environment delightful. I had cuttlefish with polenta, a glass of wine and tiramisu for dessert. I also shared an antipasto - a selection of fish/seafood.

Awesome lunch spot with affordable wines by the glass to enjoy. Fried seafood platter was very delicious you can tell the quality of seafood used. Also highly recommend getting the crab pasta the flavours were on point!

Went on a recommendation from a friend. Very nice, tucked out of the way on a quiet alley. I had high expectations. Not sure about the Michelin rating, I expected a bit more attentive service only because of that, but I am spoiled in that sense. Food was very good. They sent reminders of my reservation several times. Interior was nicely done. This is a small restaurant, you would need a reservation.

One of the classic Trattorie in Venice, mentioned in many guides and highly recommended. Pictures of celebrities on the walls (Woody Allen, Lionel Messi and so on) but none of the pictures are from recently. Fun fact: „ Carampane“ used to be the prostitutes you could find around here when this part of town was the red light district. Have a good look at the logo of the Trattoria and you will notice the reference. They serve only sea food, daily dishes dependent on what’s available at the Mercato Rialto nearby. We had the mixed sea food salad for starters, then the fried mixed seafood and the monkfish (that was a daily dishes). The kids had spaghetti with tomato sauce at 18 EUR (!) per dish not much else for kids. Quality was ok, the monkfish was dry though and some of the fried fish had an odd soapy taste. Service was friendly but not warm. The Interieur is classy, clean and you feel the history of the place.

Came for dinner and it was delicious. We received a welcome fried ball that was delicious. We ordered the grilled octopus (very good), fried shrimp and calamari (the wasabi mayo was yum), and a pasta dish in crab sauce. The restaurant is cozy. Highly recommend.

Huge disappointment. Pretty presentation, but bland food, cold service, and when I dared say the swordfish in the pasta was dry, the manager (I think?) was just offended and told me it was made that morning and everyone likes it. The pasta itself was not particularly flavorful, nor was the sauce. The frito misto my husband ordered was fine but nothing incredible, and way overpriced for what it was at 35 €. Red wine by the glass selection was very low quality and served way too warm! Room temperature wine in August at this type of restaurant?? The glass of local Venitian white Tai was very nice, as was the foccacia. This place was recommended by Conde Nast Traveller, and has pictures of a few famous people on the walls, but seems to have become a tourist trap! We’ve had a great number of amazing meals in Venice with incredible service, but this was all the opposite.

I would give 10 stars if I could! 🌟 The atmosphere and the food were amazing. This place is popular for a reason, so having a reservation is recommended. We found it spontaneously and still managed to get a table inside. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, and the food took us to the heaven and back! It was by far the most delicious food we tried in Venice. The mixed starter was so good and then they topped it for me with a simple pasta with tomato sauce. I say simple, but it was absolutely delicious! If you can make something so simple taste so delicious, you definitely know what you are doing. 🍝 My husband has ravioli with fish and was also super impressed. Regards and big thank you to the whole crew there! You made our day. It’s worth it to come back to Venice just to eat at this place again. ❤️❤️❤️

La Palanca, Giudecca, sits by its namesake vaporetto stop with views across the canal. A daytime trattoria and evening cicchetti bar, it’s beloved by locals for its straightforward cooking and fair prices, though it’s had its share of international press. I settled under the wooden beams for a final fish lunch and trusted the barman’s choice: grilled tuna, crusted in toasted sesame and drizzled with balsamic. Nutty, savoury, sharp-sweet – simple, deftly timed, and perfectly judged. Light, unfussy Venetian cooking at its best, with views to match. 8.5/10.

Amazing place ! The view on Venice and the tables by the sea are really beautiful. Service is impeccable with smiling and funny waiters. And the food is really impressive: tasty and original, from the starters to the dolci ! Best sardine pasta i’ve had. Thank you for this experience !

There is something so special about La Palanca. Beyond the incredible food, it’s the genuine service and the ambiance, where tourists and locals rejoice, that makes it a true treasure. We’ve been in Venice for 3 days and after seeking more central (near San Marco) / mainstream options on all the “where to go lists” - it was La Palanca that stood out above the rest. They were also incredibly attentive to allergies / intolerances, which goes a long way. 10/10 would recommend for the friendly service, location, and fantastic food.

We came here as we heard that this was a great place to have lunch. It will require you to take the vaporetto from the main island over, but the trip is completely worth it as you can dine waterside with Venice in view. Of note, sometimes waves will breach the side of the walkway. The restaurant has set up wooden boards as well as elevated crates beneath some tables to prevent your shoes from getting wet. This is not a big issue, and in fact we had a good laugh when it happened to us. THE FOOD HERE IS STELLAR. Both my partner and I agree that this is likely the best dining establishment we ate during our 2-day stay in Venice. The seafood is extremely fresh, the staff was friendly, welcoming and attentive. This dining establishment focuses on food and customer service. We at no point felt rushed as we did on the main island. We started off with the fish platter which came with whipped salted cod, marinated sardines, raw tuna in olive oil, and anchovies. The whipped cod was in our opinion the best in the area. The Buffalo mozzarella with roasted eggplant was awesome. The squid ink pasta and grilled prawns were also well made and not overly salty like some other restaurants on the main island. This is a place that we will likely revisit if we are in the area again in the future.

We absolutely loved this place! Highly recommend the tapas - local ones with cod and tuna, they were amazing, the meat was melting. And the tiramisu is one of the best I've ever had! The service was great and they kindly explained everything we were getting. And one of my favorite parts - a lot of locals were coming here :) we took a boat from Venice to eat here as a local friend recommended it to us.

My loveliest place in Venice. The incredible view on the row embankment, waves are welcoming under your feet but staff will give you some footrest. The stuff is fully friendly and really funny, I should say that it’s the best customer service that I’ve seen in the Venice. The atmosphere is really calm and has “la vita è bella” vibes :))) It’s not the place only for tourists, I saw a lot of locals, workers in special clothes and a little foreigners. The food was awesome and really fresh. I’ve taken an antipasti plate with fresh tuna tartar and another small fishes (18€). It was really nice. And for the dessert I had the best tiramisu (6€) in my whole life! The cream was incredible. White dry wine is good smelled and nice for taste. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

We have been to the Osteria and I agree with most comments on the quality of service, atmosphere and taste of the dishes. Our experience although has not been of the most rewarding. I can accept the philosophy of the place, also can understand the imbalance of 100 different wines and the short menu, I am prepared to accept the price and surcharge for location and view. What I cannot condone is the portion control. The job of a restaurant is not to be confused with that of a dietician. Pictures to testify that a plate of pasta at €22 with a ragù of mussels - with no mussels as evident from the photo- is not more than 70g of dry weight. Equally a €26 sarde is made of 7 small ones. So I hope the chef and the team understand that customers are ready to accept some compromises but not the lack of consideration of the environment they operate in - in Italian I would call this Lesinare: the intent to reduce the provision for the sole purpose of pretending to be posh. I would hope this review is taken for what it is. Recognition of good intent, feedback for improvement on the execution.

Beautiful, rustic type restaurant. Sat outside along the canals and had the tasting/sharing plates - 9 small different dishes for 60 EUR. They were all very tasty, diverse and utilizing local ingredients well, but I don’t know that the cost was worth it 100% by virtue of the plates being so small. However, the staff service was impeccable. One of the waiters, a blond gentleman who was coming to me with the wine pairings for the tasting menu had so much information about each wine. You could also see how passionate he was in talking about the flavors, where they come from, unique things that make the wine standout. I find that so cool and really enjoyed his and the other waiters’ details. All in all, a good night. Worth checking out, if you’re up for a more expensive meal.

If you look for something different and a meal that surprises you in a positive way. A place with ambitious cooking and very stylish presentation. Try this nice small restaurant in beautiful Cannaregio. Great food and great wine pairing. We found the staff very friendly and welcoming. Offering detailed descriptions of both food and wine. The only critique: We really enjoyed our meal, but yes, portions are very delicate and maybe a bit small. So order several and share!

A mixed experience. This restaurant is tucked away on a lovely canal and clearly aims to offer a refined, slow-cooked take on traditional Italian cuisine. The setting is charming, and it seems to cater to a more “foodie” crowd, with an emphasis on quality ingredients and a fresh take on traditional italian. However, for us, the experience didn’t quite live up to expectations. While the service was professional, it really lacked any warmth, and the atmosphere felt more formal than inviting. The food was fresh and of good quality but didn’t quite deliver on flavour. For example I ordered the Vitelli Tonnato for my main dish and was surprised when it arrived as a plate of cold thinly sliced veal with dollops of anchovy sauce served on an entree size plate with nothing else .. for €26 it was a bit disappointing.. and underwhelming. At €120 for two appetisers, two small mains, and three glasses of wine, it was the most expensive meal we had in Venice—and not, in our view, the best value. While others may appreciate its more curated approach, it wasn’t quite the right fit for us.

Exceptional! We had the nine course tasting menu and some wine by the glass. All the food was very tasty and the service was enjoyable too. If you appreciate good food and do not insist on vitello tonnato hot with french fries, you will not be disappointed.

We stopped by for a quick lunch and we’re amazed by the quality and freshness of the food. The raw wild fish plate was a work of art and we also very much enjoyed fried sardines with fennel mayo and vitello tonnato. (It’s funny that some people complained that they serve it cold). We loved this restaurant. Excellent food in a charming but low-key setting, at a very reasonable price for the quality. We had two pasta dishes, both of which were versions of Venetian classics (one with beans, the other with anchovies), which were delicious. We needed a break from Italian food and came across this delightful restaurant. Had the shish touk with couscous and ravioli with eggplant. The food was delicious and excellently prepared. Shish touk was tender and flavorful and the couscous was lovely. Service was great.

There are times in your life where you might take a wrong turn or sit in the wrong seat, and it works out for the better… like, completely changes your day. This was one of those choices; we were supposed to go to Orient Express… another 10 minutes walk. After we sat here, got a beer and ordered food, we realized that we hadn’t made it to our intended destination. The food was a God send. A chilly, windy and rainy evening in Venice, and this place was just what we needed to get that enjoyment feeling back. Highly recommend!! And great for vegan!!

I loved this restaurant so much that my wife told me that I was not allowed to tell people that of all the places we’ve eaten in Italy over the last two weeks, this was my favorite.

Homemade style food. You get options of 2, 3 or 5 in the menu. We got mantu with chickpeas, beef stew, beef biryani, fried vegetables with yogurt, falafel, kufta, lemon chicken, chicken in cream, all tasty. Biryani seemed like it is leftover from yesterday. Mostly a good sample of Afghani cuisine. A worth try.

We visited Ristorante Local with high expectations, given its Michelin star status. While the experience wasn’t bad, it definitely didn’t deliver the “wow” factor we were hoping for. The food was decent, but not particularly memorable or surprising. Service was polite but didn’t feel especially warm or attentive—nothing stood out as special. The atmosphere was nice, but again, nothing that really elevated the evening. For a set menu close to €200 per person, we expected a more refined, curated, and emotional journey. It felt like something was missing—whether in terms of creativity, flavors, or service presence. At this level, the bar is high, and unfortunately, Local didn’t quite reach it.

The wine pairings were incredibly thoughtful and elevated every course. Alessandra was fantastic — warm, knowledgeable, and even recommended an extra pairing for our pre-dessert cheese selection, which ended up being one of our favorite moments. The entire experience lasted about three hours, but it never felt rushed or drawn out — just perfectly paced and immersive. We left absolutely glowing and couldn’t stop talking about it the rest of the day. A Michelin-star experience through and through.

The beet and shrimp dish was unforgettable, and the risotto – without a doubt – was one of the best I’ve ever had. Surprising tastes that you do not find very day even in other Michelin Star restaurants. I am surprised they only have one star. They definitely deserve a second one. Great atmosphere among all the customers who were sitting by the canal; it can't get better than that! Unfortunately, everything else was a bit of a disappointment. The food was below average, from the salad to the meat. Desserts were hit and miss since the tiramisu was excellent, but the panacotta wasn't. Service was insufficient, and I even had to walk inside to pay the bill. At least, everything was affordable.

This place was recommended by a friend who had been to Venice a month before. It did not disappoint. It may seem busy when you first show, but you should be able to get a table quickly. Most are there to enjoy the cicchetti and a drink. Great table along the canal in an interesting part of town. We had the gnocchi with ragu sauce to start and we inhaled it. Then the tomahawk as our main and it was seriously one of the best steaks I have ever had anywhere. Go here!!

We came to the restaurant without a reservation and waited around 20 mins (which was not an issue for us; we were able to get some drinks while we were waiting). The steak was really good, there's no denying in that. However, what I had an issue with, is that midway through my dessert, they handed us our check. this indicated that they wanted us to get out (since that's the universal way of restaurants stating that) and i was shocked. it was so disrespectful and seeing other people enjoy their meal whereas they essentially wanted us out of the restaurant, is rude. i decided to not finish my dessert (creme brûlée was okay but nothing special, i'd say it was a 3/5). overall, seeing how we were treated vs. how other customers were treated was eye opening, and i will never recommend this restaurant to anyone because of the attitude. steak was great but I went to other restaurants in Venice where I had incredible steak. most of the waitresses were nice to us but the guy who's responsible for getting you seated was rude and mean, and he was the one who brought our check.

Found this place through a local recommendation and decided to give it a try. I ordered the picanha without realizing the price was per 100g. The server insisted on a minimum of three portions, even though there were just two of us. To our surprise, the steak was served family-style, a massive 2kg platter of meat. At the end, I told our server “non male,” meaning “not bad,” and we left with full stomachs and just a bit of leftovers. Highly recommended!

Nice cafe with a lot of history. It’s had a lot of famous guests through its doors and has been in continuous operation since 1720’s. Our experience was a pleasant one, we decided to sit outside due to the good weather conditions and the live music that was playing and managed to get a view of St.Marks Square from our table. Thing to note is that you do have to pay a charge for siting outside while the music is playing of €7 per person. I feel this is a little steep as a small family that is seeking to attend could end up paying nearly €30 before they have even ordered anything. We ordered two cocktails at €24 and €25 each along with a cappuccino which cost €12 and the waiter brought complimentary crisps and water for the table. This added with the €14 music charge resulted in a total of €75. A little expensive for what we had but with the atmosphere and location the cost of the drinks can be expected. We were served quickly and after our order was taken it arrived about 10 minutes later. When we arrived there were only about 2-3 tables available so it was somewhat crowded. We ventured inside to where the small rooms were located to have a look around and view the little shop which sold snacks and merchandise. The decor of the interior is very impressive and has managed to keep its charm from its beginnings it seems. If you’re after a couple of drinks while in the Square I would recommend however if you’re not directly in the area there are other places that will offer a similar experience at half the price.

Yes the atmosphere is nice, yes the location is good and music amazing. But I still think that the prices are too high for that. Also it would be good to say in advance that during summer they have other kind of tiramisu and not the classic one. Generally it was good, but not worth 42€ for one drink and dessert. You can just sit nearby and still listen the same music for free.

A must when you go to Venice! It is a 7 euro cover charge per person for the music. But worth it for the vibes at least just one time ahha the Apple tart was the best pastry I’ve ever tried! And I just got some tea to go along with it. The music was nice and the cafe was beautiful. It was like 65 euros for 2 teas and a pastry so make sure you come knowing that this will be the most expensive cup of coffee or tea you’ll ever have. Haha

When in Venice, might as well sit at their square and enjoy the live music and drinks- their Prosecco was best. The evening musicians do have their varieties, and take requests where possible for discretionary 20 euros. Seeing they had clarinet, violin, piano and bass, I requested for Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin but sadly this was not possible. Still enjoyed listening to many of their music. Went back on our last day during daytime, did not disappoint.

Came here to experience one of the oldest coffeehouses in the world, operating since 1720. We sat inside, where there’s a cover charge of €7 per person. There’s a live orchestra playing outside, and although we could hear a little of the music from our seats inside, we couldn’t really see them perform. The drinks are on the steeper side — I ordered an €16 cold coffee cream (Frozen Florian) and was surprised to see it was about the size of my palm. Nevertheless, it’s worth visiting this café at least once in your life for the experience, though I probably wouldn’t come back a second time.

The place for superb fish dishes in Venice. Packed with local regulars and foodie tourists it is wonder that people can get a table here. But once in, the food is absolutely the star - just so good. Make reservations well in advance if you don’t want to be disappointed. All classic Venetian seafood dishes are served in large portions.

We had the mixed seafood platter that had sardines, cod, octopus, oyster, shrimp - all treated differently.. some poached or marinated in dressings, some turned into cutlets. All were flavor bombs and incredibly fresh. They really think through their food. We also tried the risotto with squid ink and it was perfectly cooked with so much finesse. Service is warm, prices are justified and it is a pleasure to dine at this quieter side of Venice! We will be back soon!

Better to have the reservation in advance. Even though we only have one hour to finish up the mixed seafood platters, nothing to complain about the Venice must-eat. Recommend just showing the menu to the tourists and asking us to use Google Translate to read. Because of the printout menu, we can order one more dish and save our 30 minutes of waiting.

We were recommended this restaurant as where the locals go. Had to wait for a little but as we did not make a reservation. It was crowded to wait inside as we came during dinner time. However the staffs were always checking on us so we did not feel abandoned or lost. One of the staff patiently helped us to explain and translate the menu. Sorry we did not get his name but he was especially helpful and attentive with his service. Overall it was a great experience and we enjoyed some local cuisines we had here, mainly the seafood dishes.

We loved our pizza from Antico Forno! The crust had a nice crunch and the selections of toppings were amazing. I enjoyed the sun -dried tomato, mushroom, eggplant and ricotta. You’ve got to try it! The restaurant is small but they will gladly give you to go plates and it was easy to eat leaning in a shady corner of beautiful Venice! Don’t miss Antico Forno Venezia!

I’m from New York City and they have one of the best pizza that I’ve ever had hands-down. They also have a lot of colorful, thick crusted slices on display and after 12 o’clock, it gets super packed because that’s how good it is. The beautiful lady who runs the shop has amazing energy and also gave me a slice of salami with my pizza. It’s in the heart of Venice and has wonderful lovely music playing. Beautiful ambience and I will definitely come back to this exact spot when I return

Easily our favorite pizza place in Venice. The dough is thick but airy, the toppings full of flavor — Diavola was perfect. On our second visit, we arrived just before closing, ordered one slice, then another, and they even gifted us half a slice — such lovely people. We paid around €11 the first time and €17 the second. If our hotel were closer, we’d probably have eaten there every day.

Was initially a little skeptical considering how thick the crust was, but wow - really good pizza. At €5.50/slice, prices aren’t exactly cheap compared to other pizzerias in Venice/Italy, but worth the price paid. The slices are also quite big. Very friendly staff who are happy to heat up your selection for dine in. There are only about 8 seats (bar stools) but I was lucky it wasn’t busy. Had the mushroom with ham and also the prosciutto. Both were quite delightful. If you’re looking for something quick and good, I’d recommend this pizzeria.

We visited Antico Forno in Venice and ordered one pizza to start with and wow, it was hands down the best pizza we’ve ever had in our lives! It was so good that we immediately ordered a second one, and visited the place three days in row afterwards! The lady who served us, Barbara, was absolutely wonderful, so friendly, full of jokes, and she had us laughing the whole time. Thank you for giving us such a fantastic experience! It’s good if you want to take away but eating here can make you feel weird if pigeons coming into the store makes you feel uncomfortable only in the area where customers are eating. The variety of pizzas here are good so you should try more than one flavor. It’s affordable. The staff warms up the slice for you. Very little place to stand to eat.

A Hidden Gem in Venice! Where to begin…this intimate restaurant (just 10 tables!) was the highlight of our trip to Venice. A reservation is a must, and absolutely worth it. The service was exceptional: warm, attentive, and detail-oriented. We shared the beef tartare, ricotta ravioli, and the catch of the day—each dish was delicious, with the fish being the standout. I struggle to understand why so many people keep giving this restaurant 5 stars, we expected much more for the price we paid. Seven raviolis for 22€, three strips of duck breast for 30€, 2 glasses of wine and a Tiramisu (which was very good) - we left hungrier than when we came. Food quality is there, but quantities are disappointing. Waiters kept asking us if we wanted more food or drinks, making us feel uncomfortable for saying no.

This restaurant was a true pleasure to dine in. It started with such a warm welcome and every course seemed like it was a gift from the chef to us. The pasta was so perfect that I was lost in all the delicate flavors in my mouth. The fish was cooked to perfection with all its flavors locked into one perfect fillet on a plate. Went there with my family. Made a reservation due to the online reviews we saw saying it was a ‘must have’ but i think the reviews made my expectations way too high. The menu has very few options (which i don’t consider a bad thing) but from the different combinations of flavors described on the menu I was expecting more of an explosion of flavors, and at least the entree and my main dish were quite bland. My family had the same impression as me from their dishes. The tiramisu we had for dessert was good (texture wise) but a little too strong (or too much) coffee. The final drink (digestive liquor, on the house) was the highlight , instead of the common limoncello they offered us a liquor made by their own production and made of artichokes, which impressively was quite tasty!

The service was splendid, but food-wise... perhaps I've not yet learned how to appreciate traditional Venetian food, since there were clearly lots of locals. Came for Lunch on a Sunday and no wait to sit outside (inside was pretty empty). Outside service could use another waiter as I could tell the two working there were very busy.

Da Romano is more than a restaurant: it’s a Burano institution. Four generations of the Barbaro family have run it since Romano turned his bottega into a trattoria around 1920. The walls are crowded with paintings, a legacy of the artists who dined here from the 1930s onwards. The food lives up to the history: a wood-grilled plate of sea bass, bream, monkfish and prawn (8.5/10); a briny-fresh frittura mista of Adriatic fish and vegetables (8/10); and the signature risotto al nero di seppie - deep, poised, umami-rich (8.5/10). Tiramisu was lighter, coffee-shy (7/10). Bussolai biscuits, meringue cake and a rare santonego grappa closed the meal - rooted in Burano, straight from the lagoon.

We took a water bus over to the island of Burano to eat at a local restaurant that has been in the family for 4 generations, since 1920. We heard about it from Anothony Bourdain, where he went nuts over their seafood risotto, which has been made the exact same way since they opened, passing the recipe down the family line. When they first opened they just served fishermen and lace makers, but now the island is popular with tourists. On the walls of the restaurant were many famous people who had eaten there, including Robert De Niro, Keith Richards, Charlie Chaplin, Sylvester Stallone, Jane Fonda, and a very long list of other famous people. The risotto was pretty good but my favorite part was the lemon cake with meringue, it was without a doubt one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. It might inspire me to make more meringues. The sea bass was good but expensive. If you’re staying in Venice a few days then you should get the multi day boat pass, it’s a lot easier and more economical.

Unexpectedly, I need to find a restaurant for lunch in Burano. Da Romano is notable on Google Map, so I decided to go. A gentle old man welcome my family. Most of servers are gentle old men, and it seems they have been here for a long time. Looks great and I can feel their history and philosophy. All foods are good. Especially, Risotto Romano is awesome 👍 (the gentle man explained one of fish cannot be caught at this season, so it is replaced. Risotto is minimum order 2 portion). Squid ink spaghetti and seafood linguine are so nice. Pomodoro spaghetti help to meet a balance of vegetable. House wines are also better than average. White wine is more impressive. If you visit Burano, Da Romano can be a good choice.

Phenomenal spot for dinner. Each plate is not only beautifully prepared but has a great taste to it. The wine pairings really accentuates each dish’s flavors and kudos to the staff for finding some good bottles to connect the food with. This dinner and the ambience inside is a great date night, dinner while visiting Venice as tourists or anything else in between. All will love it.

A restaurant with an impressive selection of wine. The food was good - above average. I had the poached egg with porcini and cheese foam which I adored. The egg was slightly under-done. The Russian salad with crab was good, if a little bit too smothered in mayonnaise, and the monk fish was a little overcooked.

I booked a table and mortgaged my credit card online. But when I walked into the restaurant, they repeatedly confirmed whether I had a reservation or not. When I sat down, no one greeted me and gave me the menu. Most of the dishes were not explained, especially desserts. I can't believe they brought me cookies from the supermarket and said "from their mom's kitchen?" A restaurant with no advantages.

We had a fabulous meal with great vibes. They were able to give me vegetarian meal Upon request. It was really good gnocchi with vegetables. We got tiramisu to finish it off. My son’s seafood dishes were top notch. And I even got a book mark upon leaving. We arrived at 9:30 and were able to be seated right away.

One of our fav meals in Venice! Found this place through Reddit and it was very much a local joint. Both the seafood tagliatelle and gnocchi dishes were great! I’d probably pass on the sea bream appetizer as it was good but not amazing (wish we ordered the octopus instead). Tiramisu was good as well! Amazing service, vibes, and quite affordable for Venice standards. Love the little bookmark souvenir they give too!

We had a very enjoyable meal at Osteria Alla Frasca! All the seafood was fresh and flavoursome and the pasta was divine! The osteria is in a quiet courtyard away from the chaos of the streets of Venice. This was also one of the best value meals we ate in Venice!

Fantastic little restaurant, the staff were excellent and very attentive, they all spoke English and explained everything brilliantly. The food was just amazing as was the wine. I always try to get the local delicacies and I was not disappointed. I cannot recommend this beautiful establishment highly enough, if you're in Venice you must go!

We stumbled across this little osteria on the way back to our apartment and decided to go back for dinner. Everything was delicious and the staff were great. The atmosphere was typically Italian.

We booked the ristorante and a ten course menu with pairing. Was nothing short of amazing! Very nice setting, super friendly staff, who explained us everything in detail and were super keen to answer any questions. Really appreciated that, especially because the restaurant was busy. Food was like poetry and the concept is great too. Makes you wonder how we can reduce food waste and live more sustainable. Highly recommend this experience!

I proposed to my girlfriend in the vineyard here and the staff were so amazing and gracious. We did the private boat with 10 course lunch. Absolutely stunning, beautiful wines and then a drink at the outdoor bistro afterwards. This is a special place and we’ll be back. Thank you

We came back after 6 years to celebrate, and we were amazed by what cheffe Pavan and chef Brutto have done to the menù. Their approach to cuisine is remarkable and they crafted amazing dishes leveraging invasive species and avoiding waste. Amazing. Highlight for us were the cappelletti, which tasted like Xiao lon bao and the blue crab, star of the show.

Wonderfully unique wines and amazing staff, this place is an absolute gem. From the amazing story to the sustainable and community driven aspects of the winery, I couldn't have more respect for for this amazing place and all the people who contribute. I feel absolutely privileged to even try their wines much less step foot on these grounds.

I truly enjoyed this experience. I booked to include the boat ride to the restaurant. The boat was late and no one could reach the restaurant so I thought communication could have been improved on that. I booked the chef's table as I thought I would get more interaction with the chefs, but there was almost no interaction. I was the only person sitting up there, as no one else booked that experience. I felt a little awkward but that is of no fault to the restaurant. I just wanted someone to talk to, as I went alone. I did get to see some of the behind scenes of plating the dishes, but that was the only perk of booking that particular experience. I honestly would've preferred to sit alone at my own table. This is a sustainable Michelin restaurant, so some of the dishes were... unique. Most of them were delicious but there were a few that were not my taste whatsoever. I thought the beverage pairing was pretty good. They mixed different drinks in there - not just wine - and also had a mocktail. I did have another tasting menu experience in Venice that was cheaper and better, but less courses. Overall it was an interesting experience and one I would recommend for a one-time try. I thought the price was reasonable enough for the number of courses and beverage pairings.

Incredible gastronomic experience on the island of Mazzorbo, just outside Venice. Not our first Michelin-starred restaurant, but definitely one of the most memorable. We went all in with the 10-course tasting menu and wine pairing and honestly, if I could give 6 out of 5, I would. From the moment we arrived through the garden, the tone was set. They grow their own vegetables, fish their own seafood, everything is local, seasonal, and treated with real creativity. The theme was fish, and it was beautifully carried throughout the entire menu. We started with refreshing cocktails, then dove into a series of plates that surprised and delighted us. It was technically 10 courses, but we were served more than that, without ever feeling overwhelmed. Each plate was small, perfectly portioned, and full of nuance. The first entrée was stunning, both in presentation and taste. It featured raw shellfish served in beautiful open shells, with vibrant touches of yellow, blue, and green that reminded us of Murano glass. It was like being served a piece of art. One of my personal favourites was a dish built around sweet peas so fresh, delicate, and beautifully executed. And a cucumber-based dessert that totally blew my mind: light, surprising, and incredibly flavourful. One of the most original desserts I’ve ever had. The sourdough bread and kefir butter deserve their own paragraph. That butter had the texture of frosting (minus the sugar), and it was so good I almost cried when they took it away. If I’d been braver, I would’ve asked for a doggy bag to bring the leftovers home. The wine pairings were just as thoughtful, ten drinks, but with great balance. At least three were non-alcoholic (kombuchas or other creative options), which added variety without overwhelming us. And yes, our 15-year-old was with us and tasted everything. He loved it all. We were seated right in front of the kitchen, which gave us a view of the calm precision of the team plating each dish. The timing of the whole evening was flawless, despite the fact that everyone arrived around the same time and not everyone had the same menu. I don’t know how they pulled it off, but it was seamless. Yes, it’s a pricey meal. But for us, this was the kind of evening you remember for years… absolutely worth it.

We found out about the restaurant after seeing Chef Pavan several times on Masterchef Italia. We went to the Osteria. We got the tasting menu and a wine pairing (we also added a Spaghettone al Granchio Blu). All of the dishes were delicious, with a wide range of flavours that were all perfectly balanced. The use of km0 ingredients, and ingredients that are often discarded, or are invasive species, makes for a special meal. The wines were all very good, two of them were their own production, and all exalted the dish they were accompanying. Looking forward to returning and trying the restaurant as well.

An unforgettable evening at Glam di Enrico Bartolini - a Michelin 2-star gem that truly lived up to the hype. From the first bite to the last, every dish was thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Not a single miss - and many absolute standouts. The service was warm, gracious, and attentive throughout. It was the most comfortable Michelin meal we've had. It felt like we can relax and be ourselves without the pretentious vibe and yet stay elegant! Compliment to the team and how welcoming they are to my daughter! My 7 year old daughter was treated like a princess with her own special pasta (which she said was the best pasta ever!) and dessert, and even got to meet the chef behind this extraordinary meal! One of the best Michelin meals we've ever had - refined, elegant, and full of delightful surprises. Already dreaming of coming back someday.

What a lovely little restaurant tucked away in Venice. After finding our way through a maze of streets, we stumbled across what can only be described as an escape from normalcy in a gorgeous setting. We were promptly greeted by an amazing host who told us we can choose from two different menus or we could simply do whatever we wanted and select dishes from either or both. What fun! We decided to do à la carte and have a little fun. While I swear our 4 course meal turned into something more like 17, we never wanted or lacked for food. At this volume, a couple of bites here and there may have been hit or miss but the reality is overall it was such a strong showing. They also provided a fantastic wine pairing, asking what part(s) of the world you wanted to enjoy! Additionally, they created a non-alcoholic pairing as well. You can’t beat the pairing that came in the most amazing hand blown glass with a kissy fish face. Ultimately it left us with a sense of happiness, fulfillment, and a little bit of relaxation on our vacation to Venice. Highly recommend.

We visited Ristorante Glam in Venice for lunch and chose the classic tasting menu — and we were genuinely impressed. The seafood dishes were particularly memorable, and the pasta was delicate yet full of character. Wine was perfectly matched — each glass enhanced the dish, and the sommelier’s recommendations were spot-on: professional, low-key, and confident. We came during the day, and the dining room was bright and filled with natural light. It created an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere — refined but never stiff. Service was outstanding — attentive without being intrusive, with a natural sense of pace. And most surprisingly — we left full and satisfied! That’s not something you expect from fine dining. The portions, though refined, were generous and thoughtfully structured across the menu. Yes, it’s expensive. But the quality, creativity, and overall experience fully justify the price. If you view cuisine as a form of art, this is absolutely one of the must-visit restaurants in Venice — whether for a special lunch or dinner. Prise for 2 persons

We had a magical evening enjoying the Glam Classico tasting menu. The palazzo is very beautiful. The dishes were outstanding and so lovely to look at. We appreciated the moments of whimsy. The service was terrific and we appreciated the sommelier’s selection of delicious local wines to go with the courses along the way at our request since we couldn’t drink 10 different pairings. We are so glad to have experienced this 2-star Michelin restaurants focus on the local produce, meat and seafood of Veneto. It was a love letter to the region.

Incredible food prepared most beautifully. Impeccable, non-intrusive service. Slightly loud room for six tables but manageable. From the first greeting to meeting the chef on the way out, it was wonderful. The produce from Erasmo was a beautiful centerpiece off the meal. I will go back when I am in Venice.

We centered our entire trip to Venice around dining at Glam, and it was meant to be the highlight of my wife’s 40th birthday. From the moment we arrived, we were overwhelmed by the elegance of the setting and the warmth of the service. Our evening began with cocktails in a room fit for royalty, accompanied by a beautifully curated selection of small bites to awaken the palate. We then moved to the restaurant for the main experience and my goodness, the artistry and flavors were simply extraordinary. Every course was a masterpiece, paired perfectly with a wonderful wine recommended by the sommelier. However, partway through the meal, my wife unexpectedly fell ill. The staff could not have been more compassionate or professional. They immediately offered her hot water with honey, a comfortable place to rest in the courtyard, and genuine concern for her wellbeing. When it became clear we needed to end the evening early, I approached the team to pay for our meal and, to my astonishment, they gently refused any payment. Their kindness left us truly speechless. My wife has a genetic heart condition which is usually well controlled, but on rare occasions she experiences atrial fibrillation unfortunately, it happened on this special night. The empathy and understanding shown by the team at Glam turned what could have been a difficult memory into one of gratitude and admiration. Yes, Glam absolutely deserves its two Michelin stars for its extraordinary cuisine and artistry but just as importantly, it is run by people with genuine heart. We will most certainly be back.

Had a Variation of Chef’s Cicchetti and Udon. Plates came out fast after a couple of forgettable bocconcino (amuse bouche). Loved the fresh shrimps but all else, mehhh. I go to Japan every year and food here just not up to standards.

Wonderful Japanese Italian fusion. Staff were friendly, welcoming and were attentive to our dietary needs. The menus makes all allergens very clear. The staff speak English well which helps. The room is smaller and fills quickly with lively conversation sometimes on the louder side however the atmosphere is friendly. There is extensive wines available, beers however non alcoholic drinks are limited. Coke was the only soft drink available. We were offered a tasty amuseboosh to get the meal started. Love the cross over of Japanese and Italian. The eel was really tasty, my partner loved the gyoza. I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

Food was very good. Japanese cuisine make sense for the abundance of fresh fish available in Venice, but the meal was well executed, and felt very special. Presentation was gorgeous and the flavors were homey and comforting, but refined. The chef’s menu came with about 18 dishes, most were a little bite, but also included more substantial plates. Everything was good, I ate all of it. For around €50 it was a great experience. Small, but interesting selection of sake. The staff was very kind and super knowledgeable about what they were putting on the table.

One of those Venetian restaurants that make you feel you are in New York. A proudly international Japanese tavern occupying an old traditional Osteria (the name comes from that old restaurant), they still maintain the old name at the entrance floor. Simple indoors environment and a small outdoor terrace. Friendly service. Chic and young clientele. Small menu. No tablecloths.

Worst experience in Venice. As good as the service was, we had hair in our food and i got the privilege to go home the next day with food poisoning. Food is also very overpriced for the quality, sitting arrangements are cramped and its hard to sit on the chairs fir mire than an hour.

Delicate Japanese cuisine with Venician taste of fresh seafoods. Every dish is nicely presented in a small bite. Very tasty! If you are super hungry, don’t come here! If you are looking for a light lunch or dinner, and change from Italian cuisine, try it! Good selections of wine too!

I ordered squid ink pasta. It was better than any squid ink pasta I had in Venice. 😋 The staff were friendly and kind! Tiramisu is a new sensation！

Ca’ d’Oro alla Vedova delivers authentic Venetian flavors with heart and tradition—perfect for anyone seeking a true taste of the city.

My friend Beth visited this restaurant recently and told me that she was extremely disappointed with the service. When the Seafood Dish came out to her table, it had no more than one prawn. There should've been at least half a dozen or more for the price she paid. There was nothing authentic about this Italian meal. The Spaghetti and the tomato sauce was bland and tasteless. It cost about €15, baguette bread was charged. Half a carif of wine was charged which came to the total of approximately €30 which is almost $60 in Australian dollars. No balsamic Vinegar was available on request. The price was ridiculously expensive, especially for the price of this dish that was supposed to have chilli 🌶 in it.

The prices are cheap and the food is mediocre. The owner however is quite rude and ruins the entire experience. Italian hospitality is now part of Italian culture, and this restaurant puts Italy to shame. I hope David learns that “good food” does not mean you can be bad towards the people that pay for your food.

Clearly past it's glory days, but still has an atmosphere and uniqueness that makes it worth a visit. A noticeable number of 'tourist tat' stalls amid the fresh fruit & veg and fish stalls. You can still imagine what it would have been like to visit and do your shop when it was thriving though. Great people watching!

A nice market in the heart of Venice. There are some amazing and unique fish on display, along with food stalls, fresh vegetables, souvenirs, and more. Prices are on the expensive side.

We always seek out the local markets and buy food for our dinner when we travel (we cook dinners in our AirBnB). Great seafood selection and the produce was bountiful! The reason for the 4 vs 5 stars is that there are several of the tourist t-shirt, trinket and souvenir stands as well. To be honest, Venice is full of these but we were so hoping to escape them a bit at the market.

If you’re visiting Venice, then besides the obvious sightseeing spots, you absolutely must visit the city’s most famous market. Here you can find everything — and see where local restaurateurs buy their fresh fish, seafood, vegetables, fruit, and much more. In our opinion, it’s an essential place to experience, and we highly recommend going early in the morning. The market is officially open until 3:00 p.m., but vendors start packing up shortly after noon.

We stayed in Venice for 3 nights, we visited the market twice. They have wonderful seafood selection, we brought some back and cooked in our beautiful Airbnb.

Very meat to go through. We bought lots of spices here, as tourists it made little sense to buy fresh fish, but, as someone who likes to try everything once, there was so many I wanted to try. Really neat to walk through

Absolutely delicious food. The waiters were friendly, charismatic and very helpful. The tuna was outstanding. Wish we were staying longer to try more things on the menu! House wine is delicious :)

Overall excellent experience! One of my girlfriends came here for dinner on a family vacation and raved about it. Me and my husband made a reservation while we were on the plane over to Italy for our honeymoon. Their house made bread was so satisfying to start. We got cocktails, red wine, the caprese appetizer (incredible in taste and presentation), the eggplant parm and the gnocchi. Everything was immaculate. We were so sad to be so stuffed to not be able to squeeze in dessert. The staff was so nice, very attentive and timed every course perfectly. Very much enjoyed our experience on our first night in Venice!

There are many restaurants in Venice but many are just reheating ready prepared meals, they don’t have kitchens. This one is different it’s the real deal. Went on a Monday night. It holds about 25 people so I’d book in advance. Staff were very helpful even advising me on the best wine to accompany my meal. Food - outstanding and beautifully presented. I had the liver and polenta main course (a local delicacy) and couldn’t fault it. If I came back to Venice this would be my first choice. If you want to go I’d advise booking on line as you’d be luck to get a “walk in” table.

This was the best meal that I had in Venice. The grilled octopus, risotto with prawns, and spaghetti with duck and orange sauce were incredible. The ambience was perfect as a couple but also great for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxed meal. The waiters were friendly, no negatives!

We had one of our best meals at Hostaria Castello. They made a vegetarian version of the gnocchi that was outstanding. The parmigiana was delicious and the tiramisu was the best we had on our trip. Service was great, our waiter was attentive and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. They serve their own home made bread. The caprese appetizer was a little disappointing - it's a tomato stuffed with burrata. It looked lovely but was overpriced for a tiny portion. Overall a fantastic choice and we loved our meal!

We took lunch at the Terrace, the service over there was very nice and work a calm view of the canal! Unlike the restaurant inside (as I saw and read from reviews)… The food was very tasty, we had carbonara, ravioli, pinsa, and pomodoro pasta. Only the pomodoro pasta was poor and no special flavor on it, a bit fake the sauce.

This place was a great find for a fantastic deal of €10 for a spritz and 3 chef’s special cicchetti (Venetian tapas of baguette slices with an array of savoury topping) with an incredible setting along the canal. The spritz’s were served with olives and homemade pretzels as well. 🫒 🥨 🍹 The service was lackluster, but the food quality, incredible atmosphere and value for money really brings this experience up and will be a favourite memory of mine in Venice. I’ll recommend it to anyone. No coperto on the bill.

We were looking for a place for a drink and sit before our train. This place was so much more. We had spritz and Cicchetti, amazing deal €10 drink and three Cicchetti. There were gorgeous. Other people were eating and the food looked amazing. Recommend if you are in the area. Well worth it

This place is like an oasis in the desert. It was late and we were looking for a nice place for dinner, and so glad to have stopped here! The elderly gentleman who greeted us was so warm and welcoming and made us feel right at home. He stopped frequently to check on us and made sure everything was okay. Although we only shared a burger (as we were too full), he wasn’t upset as some places would be, and even gave us sharing plates! We highly recommend - Italian burger, Aperol Spritz, Prosecco! This visit made us so impressed and hope to stay at the attached hotel some day!

Had Some lovely chichetti and an amazing carbonara after. Espresso was one of the best I had. Teracce at the canal grande is beautiful!

The waiter’s were a bit stressed, and were not quite attentive, however they were very nice and accommodating once their attention turned to us. The starters and sides were very good, everything with aubergine was great! I had the rabbit, which was slightly overcooked, but still good. The ossobucco was not great, but also not too bad. Especially if you have vegetarian/vegan people in your group. All in all decent experience!

A lovely restaurant in the middle of Venice main island. This restaurant was recommended by a my friend who lives there and he dine there often. This restaurant offers not traditional Italian cuisine and there are excellent alternatives choice in Venice. I stayed in Venice for one week this time. Even though I love seafood, I was getting tired of similar menus. The food was very tasty and maybe bigger portions for a restaurant in the island. Waiters are friendly and kind. Small problem for us was the reservation time. The restaurant has two shifts for evening reservations: at 19:30 or 21:30. Both times were not really standard dinning times for dinner in Italy. Fair prices.

La Zucca is a fantastic spot in Venice—especially if you’re vegetarian, but honestly everything on the menu is delicious. The vegetarian options are creative and flavorful (we loved the lasagna and pesto!), though the duck was also outstanding. Great wine, great food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere made for a perfect evening. The service was friendly and attentive, and we loved sitting right on the canal in such a beautiful location. The restaurant is small and traditional + very popular, with only a few tables, so it’s definitely required to make a reservation! It’s very popular for good reason. Highly recommend!

The service from the waiters was very unpleasant. We didn't ask for much, just had a question whether the bread was vegan, and the waitress was acting rude. Another thing that is very weird, they don't have an English menu (which is fine, but it seems that most of the costumers are tourists..). Instead, we were given a page with translations from Italian to English? Like kind of a dictionary? I think that it is an odd thing to do. When we asked the waitress to give out a recommendation and translate what's written, she did it very unwillingly. Whenever we tried to call the waiters they usually ignored us (and I saw it happening to other tables as well). The food was fine, I ordered pasta with gorgonzola, which could've been great if it was served hot. It was a bit cold but I didn't want to tell the waiters because of the attitude we were already given. The only reason we didn't leave was that we were in a hurry to go somewhere else and had to eat somewhere. The other dishes were good but not spectacular as expected.

This was one of our best eating experiences in Venice. The food is so fresh and delicious, all real and homemade, and lovely to see such a creative inventive menu. We came on a busy day and had to wait for quite a while before anyone came to take our order but it was well worth it. The waiters were sweet and kind, and very interesting to talk to. The zucchini lasagna was particularly soft and lucious, and the many vegetable side dishes were delightful and rich in flavor. Really fantastic for vegetarians!! We also had a desert each and both were amazing. We felt so nourished, both in the belly and in the heart by this lovely genuine place. It is a real gem and one we look forward to returning to many times.

Awesome cozy spot. Seems like it’s a locally known. I was sitting in the first room by the bar and the vibes were unmatched with the locals coming in and chatting. The food was good too, I had the pasta with scallops and shrimp and the chocolate cake

2we do NOT recommend this place. They charged us €15 or more than what we actually ordered. We had three pasta dishes and one drink each, but we received a bill totaling €72. Upon checking the receipt, we found a €22 fried dish that we never ordered or received. This meant we were overcharged by at least €15. We went back into the restaurant to ask about it, and they simply said it was a mistake and returned the €15. It was a shocking experience, and we will never go back to this place. Not recommended at all. Additionally, the first receipt showed a coperto (cover charge) for 4 people, while the second corrected receipt listed it for only 2 people. No explanation was given about this discrepancy, and we’re still left wondering what the correct amount was supposed to be. Photos, the original receipt, and the corrected one are attached.

First visited in November 2013 — ducking off Strada Nuova into Cannaregio, I found low-beamed comfort, terrazzo underfoot, a counter lined with prosecco and cicchetti. Revived in 2008 after a lull, it felt quietly overlooked by tourists, its name borrowed from Manzoni’s I Promessi Sposi (The Betrothed) — less literature, more shorthand for trust and constancy at the table. That night it was pappardelle with rabbit ragù and Treviso radicchio (9/10) and frittura mista with Rialto fish, crisp polenta, clean and outstanding (9.5/10). Returning in November 2024, the constancy was intact. Fritto misto remained light and deft (8/10); orecchiette with tomatoes and smoked scallops was smoky and succulent (8.5/10); sea bream fresh from the market, simple and delicious (8/10); spaghetti al nero di seppia packed Adriatic umami with pasta cooked to the second (8.5/10). Even the home-smoked pork ribs, needing a touch more basting, came with excellent potatoes (7/10). Eleven years apart, Ai Promessi Sposi still proves its name: constancy, quality, and Venetian understatement.

Hands down my favorite spot. Everything was delicious. All the waiters helped explain the food with great details. They took our reservation when I called around 1100. Tried going without a reservation the night before but it was too packed. 10/10 a must try!

You need to know, this is NOT a tourist place to eat and you NEED TO COME HERE! It's off the beaten path of where all the tourists will go, this place is definitely a LOCAL GEM! The service was wonderful. Our waitress definitely took care of us, (she was a sweetheart) informed us of the specials and made wonderful suggestions, that we went with because she knew the items were FRESH! We ordered the sea bass, pasta with shrimp and tomatoes, and pasta with cheese.. Delicious! We even ordered dessert! Tiramisu! I could have eaten two of those! It was so, so good! (Sorry, I did take a picture, but I don't know what happened!) We spent more, but what the heck! How often do we come to Venice! Highly recommended! You Must Go!!!!!

Super good pasta! We stopped here for a late lunch and was seated inside. Ordered the clam spaghetti and squid ink pasta and both were superb. Staff was super friendly despite being super busy. Loved that there was a clean (but tiny) bathroom for us to use as well. Great place to eat lunch!

Authentic delicious food. We visited for lunch on our last day in Venice and had to go back again for dinner! Small restaurant off the main areas . Open kitchen so you can see the chef preparing g the meals. We had the Pistacio Ravioli, lasagne and the beef ragu Parpadelle which was sensational. The soufflè dessert was one of the best ive ever had. Its just a shame we couldn't fit it in for the dinner visit as we were so full! Definitely recommend. Also the Aperol sprits was just the right ratio. House white wine also very nice and not expensive.

I really loved this restaurant! We ordered the duck ragu and the squid ink pasta (I’m sorry I don’t remember the actual names in Italian). The food arrived super quickly after ordering and the waitress was friendly despite it being busy. No reservations and it got quite crowded quickly, so come early if you want to be sure to have a table:)

Ordered the squid ink pasta and the seafood big plate. Squid and octopus and scampi were nicely grilled and tender though the mussels are quite tiny and would be a lot nicer if they were bigger. The fish could have been clean better so that it does not taste bitter. Squid ink pasta was very nice and delicious.

We honestly don’t understand the good reviews for this restaurant. The food was very average, overly salty, and lacked real flavor. Prices were extremely high, and we didn’t see any locals dining there. We suspect they may have changed owner or chef recently. Definitely not a place we would return to.

Short wait, but with no reservation I was seated within 5 minutes of arriving. Do not skip this restaurant! Go figure the best food I have had in Venice was a traditional Venetian restaurant. All the ingredients are sourced from Italy, and the dishes are all authentic. I had the squid ink ravioli, and the platter of Adriatic fish and shellfish. Both were truly heavenly! Service was friendly, professional and efficient. Oh and how could I almost forget, the Tiramisu!!! Homemade with love, the best I’ve ever had. 5 stars, 10/10, bravo, grazie mille!!!

We went here while in Venice for one night. We had an amazing wine tasting and food. The wines were delicious and the man that helped us was very knowledgeable and kind. Our server was lovely as well! This was the perfect cozy place to stay dry during the thunderstorm. We were so impressed with the wine that we shipped 6 bottles back to the US to share with our families. We had the super red flight and local red flight. We had the carbonara and cache de Pepe with a complementary dessert shot. We love places that are off the beaten path and we stopped by their wine shop around the corner to get a bottle to enjoy later at the hotel. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to travelers looking for good wine, food and service!

Really nice spot for wine and snacks. They have an extensive menu, but we only had some small bites. The service was very kind and attentive. If us in a side street, which was great because of feels ticked away from the crowds. They gave many tables both inside and outside. Wine selection is very good and the prices were reasonable given the location.

I had a wonderful wine tasting experience here. The gentleman who took my order was very knowledgeable and attentive. I ordered a delicious cheese and charcuterie dish and for the tasting I chose the "From White to Red" option. The place wasn't very busy when I went, as it was right when they opened. I hope they normally have more people in there as it was lovely. There were a few older Italian women making the cicchetti which was so cute. I knew then that the food here would be delicious. I highly recommend you stop here for a tasting and bite to eat!

Nice atmosphere but not extraordinary (as we expected). The food was definitely not worth the price (from a taste point of view). The one thing we both enjoyed and was really good (as taste & presentation), was the tiramisu (dessert). Furthermore the service was slow (although very kind and smiling). We kind of got tired of waiting for them getting the empty plates, etc. The bread selection (&olive oil) was very abundant though. We were getting new without ever asking for it. In sum we paid a bit less than 400 euros but had far better and tastier dinner at other places with 100- 200.

A wonderful dining experience at Restaurant Terrazza Danieli. My partner and I dined at this lovely restaurant during our week in Venice. We had a leisurely dinner which took about 2.5hrs from start to finish. Every staff member was extremely attentive and informative. The restaurant itself has spectacular views any time of day. But we preferred our evening setting with the lights of the city below. The food itself is exceptional. The red prawn appetizer was delectable. However the stars of the evening were the scallops and the pastas. Truly crave-able and delicious. We are usually light eaters but availed ourselves of all the restaurant had to offer. We will visit every time we are back in Venice.

Fabulous views over the Grand Canal. The service was good, they have an excellent sommelier. We intended to have the tasting menu but we didn't like the choices so chose from the a la carte. The food was beautifully presented but the desserts didn't taste as good as they looked. With a bottle of wine and one round of drinks our bill for 4 people was 785 euros. I recommend it for a special occasion.

The main appeal of La Danielle is its location — no doubt one of the best views of the Grand Canal in Venice. Unfortunately, the experience was far from enjoyable. The terrace has plants that attract wasps, and we ended up eating surrounded by them the entire time. It was so unpleasant that we skipped dessert and coffee just to leave earlier. As for the food, it was fine but nothing remarkable, especially considering the inflated prices (which can partly be expected in Venice, but still felt excessive for the quality). Overall, the view might justify the stop for some, but I can easily understand why others would prefer to spend the same amount elsewhere for a better meal and a more comfortable

The most exceptional and technically executed meal I have experienced in Venice. The Veal medallion had many layers of surprise to it. Phenomenal meal. A special thanks to Fab who took excellent care of me.

Highlight of our trip We were thoroughly impressed with our dinner experience last night. From the moment we arrived, everything exuded elegance—from the ambiance to the attentive staff. Each dish was delightfully presented, showcasing both creativity and precision, and the flavours were just as exquisite as the plating. We had the red prawn carpaccio with crème frâiche, caviar which was exceptional. Squid ink ravioli with scorpionfish as well as the chanterelle with goats cheese risotto. Although the outside terrace was closed due to the weather, the team went above and beyond to ensure our evening was nothing short of extraordinary. The service was warm, seamless, and genuinely thoughtful. It’s rare to find a place where every detail is so carefully considered. We’ll absolutely be returning.

Beware of the seagulls here! What should have been the most amazing final night in Venice was unfortunately a let down for us. After seeing seagulls swoop down on 2 others tables and take their bread, my partner was the unfortunate victim of one seagull defecating on him - this place needs a falcon or parasols - or both. The staff really let themselves down here. They never once asked us if we were OK or offered to clean or move our table, and when you're spend €550 on a meal for two, I expect better. A lovely american girl had a Tide pen in her purse which she generously offered and we were very grateful for. The location, views and food were beautiful, however this venue needs to take some tips from the nearby St Regis who have a falcon to keep the local seagull pests in check.

Well, after a fair few glasses of wine, I'm likely to wax lyrical about this restaurant, but by God they deserve it. After two weeks travelling through Italy, South to North, and some really "good" food, I feel like we truly discovered "great". Osteria Bancogiro was just wonderful. The setting next to the canal, the friendly and welcoming service, and the food...! We decided to have the grilled octopus as a starter. Southern Italy eat your heart out. It was amazing. Then the veal and the lamb. Utterly sublime. We couldn't have asked for a better first evening meal in Venice, with more welcoming and friendly staff. Go there if you can. You'll thank me!

It’s a little expensive, but it’s really worth it. I went with two other people and I had the lamb and it was good. My friend had the steak which I had a piece of, and it was delicious as well. The presentation of the food was well worth it too as each plate looked amazing. I would definitely come back here and I extremely recommend it.

The restaurant is right next to the canal. Stunning view during the sunset. We ordered several dishes, they were all good, especially the shrimp for starter and the fish for main. Tiramisu was the best one I had during this trip

Its decent, but to be honest extremely overpriced. You can find way better places at less posh places, but we know that when we come to this kind of tourist 'wannabe' restaurants its what you get. Wine was supposed to be really good, but was nothing special either. Dishes are a bit small. The black tagliatelle were too salty, and who ordered them had stomach ache afterwards. The carbonara was slightly undercooked (and I understand what al dente is), making the dish not as good unfortunately.

Cicchetti was alright, but they were better than the spots nearby. The big name cicchetti spots were all closed in the early afternoon so we came here and it was okay

If you are looking for the best place to get cicchetti in Venice this is it! They only do cicchetti and there is a reason: that's all you need! Our favorites were ones in the picture! The one with radicchio salad and spicy "new fish" is exceptional! Also make sure to get a Select Spritz as well!

This is the classic Venetian wine bar where you drink, laugh, meet nice people, enjoy amazing wines, and many other beverages with low cost, freshly made, delicious ingredients. I can’t remember what we ate though everything was tried at least once. Interior is clean and classic. Service is lively and friendly. Atmosphere is friendly and warm. It’s a must see and do.

There are no basic hygiene standards here. The man preparing the food kept tasting the mixture for the cichetti out of the tub, and his colleague tasted the mixture with her bare hands (!). We found two hairs in our food - not surprised about it now

Such a quaint and cozy corner in Venice. The sharing tapas was not only good food but also an experience. The cured meats and fish used were fresh and tasted so good. I really enjoyed everything that I tried. Highly recommend this place as a breakfast or brunch place.

Fantastic restaurant, in beautiful Venice, it seems that it's only visited by locals and very few tourists, as it's not on the main pathway from train station to St's Marc's square, but a bit further. Nice designed interior with many old artefacts and wishes from famous people, old furtniture. We've tried Spaghetti alle seppie nere, then Tagliatelle with seafood and Risotto di pesce (fish) and of course a delicious home made tiramisu (probably the best tiramisu, I've ever had) Staff was very helpful, although it was quite full during our visit, but all dishes came quite fast. Absolutely recommended

We loved Osteria da Alberto! It's a fantastic spot for delicious and fresh seafood dishes at very reasonable prices, especially for Venice. The interior was simple but very charming. It's rustic with lots of wood, with some tables near the window overlooking a small canal running alongside the osteria. Our server was incredibly friendly and clearly passionate about their house specialties. My husband wanted to try something uniquely Venetian, and the server recommended the bigoli in salsa di acciughe, which we both loved. I ordered my all-time favorite, spaghetti ai caparossoli (spaghetti with clams), and I was so impressed. The pasta was perfectly cooked, with a generous serving and plentiful clams. I still think about it once in a while. 😅 We can't wait to dine here again. Thank you for the excellent quality and service!

Quite busy restaurant. Cozy interior but a little weird decorations (Jack Daniel’s bottles are not Italian). Lady from service seems somewhat friendly but also a little stressed / annoyed. As she is alone, everything can take a bit longer. Menu limited, not a lot to choose from, but that can be a good sign, as they specialize in certain things. Risotto was good, fish was also OK, but nothing exceptional. After we finished our meal the staff was having lunch, so there was no one to bring us the check, we had to go up to the counter and wait for a while until they could spare some time. Would probably not return, even though everything was OK.

Fantastic food. Was recommended to come here by our Airbnb host and it did not disappoint. House red wine was excellent, they were very accommodating of our children with plain tomato pasta and pasta with butter. However our meals were amazing - the risotto al pesce was incredible. You have to order for two people but it was amazing, the squid was so tender. I had Angus beef steak and phil had liver and both meals were delicious. Fantastic atmosphere and service. I would say it was our favourite meal in Venice, but this was our first night in Venice!!! Hard to top! Great recommendation!!

We ordered Pasta Vongole and the original Venetian Bigoli in Salsa and it's one of the best pasta dishes we've tried so far in Italy. The place is very quaint and original, away from the hoard of tourists running throughout Venice. The seafood is fresh and the service is really pleasant. It's highly recommended.

Disappointing Experience – they treat tourist differently than locals. We made a reservation for 4 & arrived on time. Unfortunately, we were seated in an incredibly cramped corner—so tight that two of us couldn’t get out unless the other two stood up and the whole table was shifted. Not a great start. Service started off decently, but things took a turn when the wrong risotto arrived. We had ordered two of the nightly specials: the squid ink risotto and baked sea bass. What we got instead was a mixed seafood risotto. When we pointed this out, our server seemed visibly annoyed that we insisted on getting what we ordered. Her response? “It will take a while,” said with clear irritation. After that, the service completely fell off. She never came back to pour our wine or refill water, ignored our request for extra napkins, and didn’t check in on us at all. The shift in attitude was obvious and uncomfortable. What stood out even more was the difference in how locals were treated. The woman at the next table, who mentioned she was from Austin, whose server prioritized locals who arrived after her. The contrast in service was stark. As for the food? It was just okay. Nothing memorable, especially considering the poor service. Sadly, we won’t be returning and definitely won’t be recommending this place. Venice has far better to offer in both food and hospitality.

We spent a few hours in this cafe on the famous St Marks Square on a beautiful sunny afternoon. The highlight of this place is obviously the lively music and the views of the expansive square and the cathedral. The price is definitely on the higher side, but the experience was a good one.

One of the most expensive meals of our entire Euro trip — dropped €200 on just a few sandwiches and cappuccinos (yep, €18 per cappuccino 😳). But honestly… nothing beats the view. The cafe is right in the heart of Venice, in front of St. Mark’s Campanile. You’re paying for the experience, the atmosphere, and that iconic Venetian charm. Oh — and as a bonus? You even get serenaded by a very posh live band while you sip that overpriced cappuccino. Pure main character energy. No regrets.

Travelling all over the world, this is probably the most expensive Cafe ever. Coffee and ice-cream are good by Italian standard. It's just way over priced. Even with all the services included in the prices as indicated on the menu, the waiter still reconfirmed if additional tip was to be added at will.

Like plenty of others have said before me, this ended up being the most expensive coffee stop of our entire Venice trip. Sixty-two euros for two cappuccinos (yes, including tip), which is borderline outrageous, but would I do it again? Absolutely. Because here’s the thing, nothing beats the view or the atmosphere. The café is smack in the middle of Venice, right in front of St. Mark’s Campanile. You’re not paying for the coffee, you’re paying for the experience, the iconic setting, and that picture-perfect slice of Venetian life. We were super lucky with fabulous weather at the end of March and zero crowds. And to be fair, the staff were brilliant. We had 1-to-1 attention the entire time and our waiter guarded our bags from the pick pockets, which definitely helped soften the financial blow. Pricey? Without a doubt. Worth it? Absolutely.

The St Marco Square is so busy. I ordered the takeaway crossaint ham and gelato which are both delicious, basically fair for the price. The cafe also has classical decoration and live band, very traditional feeling of Venezia cafe.

Caffè Lavena was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in all my travels across multiple countries. The staff—especially one particular lady—was unbelievably rude. I had just bought a small cheesecake and a coffee to-go. Carrying several shopping bags, I sat down briefly to organize my things. Within seconds, she yelled at me: "Stand up and leave now, Sir!" in the most aggressive and disrespectful tone imaginable. I wasn’t trying to dine in—I simply needed a moment to manage my bags. As a paying customer and international visitor, I’ve never been treated with such hostility anywhere else. It’s no surprise this place has a 2.6 rating. Honestly, it’s a disgrace to hospitality. Avoid this place at all costs.

Stopped in for some quick ciicchetti appetizers and a glass of wine. Prices were high and glasses were tiny. Most tables were already reserved for people coming in later for dinner. They let us sit for 20 minutes and have a snack. Beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. Unfortunately, we had to leave quickly. And cash only.

Conflicted reviews on Google. High overall reviews but also had low marks reviews. Decided to give it a try anyway. First entree, pesce misto was good. Not overly salted or breaded, but that was it. The pasta dishes and octopus dish were all disappointing. It lacked flavor and aroma. Ended up going for pizzas as we didn't finish what ordered. This establishment also charges a sitting fee of 2.50 euros per person if dining in. I don't regret going there but it was honestly a waste of money.

Wonderful small charming resturant in the heart of Venice. This place is great if you want authentic Venetian food for a decent price. Service was good good and the atmosphere was relaxed and tells a story of the decades that the resturant has been operating. Fab little bar down a backstreet near the Rialto Had a few seafood cicchetti- the scallops were wonderful- plus at least a few spritzes and good red wine - the drinks were great value. Full meals were available in the restaurant at the back but we sat outside in the alleyway- a great vibe with locals and visitors alike. Raffaello behind the bar was lovely and friendly and good fun! Good ambient playlist too - enjoyable but not intrusive. Shame we only got there the once! Hopefully return someday.

Best panini I had in Venice. It was made to order and the meat, the cheese, the veg are fresh sandwiched with a hot tasty bread. It came surprisingly big in portion. With a glass of red wine to complement the meal, my dinner sitting next to the canal was perfect.

This was one of the best paninis I have ever had. I got the vegan panini (and I’m not strictly vegan or vegetarian) of roasted seitan, beetroot salad, caramelized onions, and artichoke. I ordered at the bar and was lucky to snag a table outside right along the canal. The panini was made fresh to order. The bread was perfectly toasted and so hot and fluffy. Sandwich was really flavorful. I was really impressed. I’m thinking of going back just for that sandwich alone with my few days here in Venice. I grabbed a spritz bianco for my drink for 3.5 euros. Really light on the alcohol, but decent for the price.

There is a notice outside that they don't do cicchetti. However, what they do serve are platters and big sandwiches with cheeses and cooked meats. My small cheese platter was actually a generous size and my glass of red wine was excellent.

So hard to find quality food that I feel it’s important to highlight the cafes and osterios that are trying to offer the good stuff. Just adding to the pile of good reviews because the HYPE. IS. REAL. When you walk in and have no idea what's going on and everyone is doing things you know you've stumbled across something truly local and unique. And does it deliver. Just absolutely anything you get here is just good. It's some black magic dust but it's true. The highlight was the cream puffs, which isn't overly sweet allowing all the subtle flavours to come through. Surprisingly the croissant sandwich I had to double back to notice it was baked with cheese. So much subtle flavour. Well worth weathering the storm to get to. Despite being a bit out of the way

The chantilly cream puff is amazing: light cream inside with soft but crisp outside. Personally, I didn’t like the sugar on top because it felt a bit too sweet. I also had the chocolate roll. It was definitely super rich with chocolate but I think a bit too sweet.

Perhaps there is a better pasticceria in Venice, but I haven't found it. This is a traditional pasticceria: you stand to drink your coffee and eat your pastry on the counter top. When I win the lottery, I'll go to Venice for a month, and work my way through the entire beautiful display, enjoying the theatre of it, and admiring the skills of the inestimable ladies serving.

But they don’t tell you that it will be stolen by a seagull as soon as you step outside. The seagulls are waiting on the roofs above. I’m so sorry to whoever this is. I wish someone was recording us when it happened to us. It happens so fast. We went in to buy another 3€ slice and enjoyed it inside. 3 slices were stolen by seagulls in the 15-20 minutes we were there. One nice local couple bought a replacement piece for a kid who had a slice stolen.

After walking in the city all day, we reached this small pizzeria to finally eat something at a reasonable price. The pizza was tasty, and the slice was big. However, there's no seating inside or outside. It is a place where you can take away your pizza and eat it on the way. Overall, I was satisfied so I would go back but not when I am tired of walking all day.

This was our very late night run. Lots of locals would stop here and recommended everything. The pizza was always crunchy and delicious. We visited 3 nights in a row and there was always a great local crowd.

What can I say....... Travelling through Rome, Florence and now Venice... Best Pizza upto now. Excellent takeaway Pizza, freshly made to order. Great value. The location in the square is excellent for atmosphere and Indulgence....

It was an amazing place near Piazza San Marco. The waiters were incredibly friendly, cheerful, and fun to chat with. We were lucky that they had cacio e pepe as a special that day — it was delicious and beautifully prepared right next to our table. For cocktails, we went with Hugo Spritz, and they were excellent as well. For dessert, I had the crema catalana while my girlfriend chose the tiramisu — both were absolutely delightful. The prices were also very reasonable, and everything was just perfect. On top of that, the complimentary limoncello shots were the cherry on top. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Venice — it’s totally worth going out of your way for. Absolutely superb!

Excellent, excellent pizza - simple, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The base was light and crisp, the toppings full of flavour. Nothing fancy, just great pizza done really well at a great price. I was late there when it was dark and the seagulls don't seem to attack then.

Great value for money! The pizza was very good and the pizzaiolo/cashier was incredibly nice. The wait time for the pizza was around 5 minutes. Not as touristy as other places in Venice. Absolutely worth a visit!

Delicious gelato! Best I've had in Venice so far! And they we're open after 9pm, which was surprisingly hard to find. I had the Brutto e Buono flavor (chocolate and hazelnut). The chocolate dip on the cone was warm and amazing. Definitely recommend!

I ordered classic gelato (no topping) in cup with dark chocolate and pistachio. I would say pistachio gelato is the best i’ve ever have so far. The taste of pistachio is strong but it would be 10 out of 10 if it has less sweet in it. I also went back to Milano and ordered pistachio again since it was sooooo good. The panacotta one is also good. Recommended!

A chain I would normally avoid when choosing somewhere, but. The 4.8 score vs 6k+ reviews I felt I should try it. It did not disappoint, I think it’s the nicest ice cream I ever had. Get something with chocolate.

Despite being in Venice for less than 2 days I had to go to here twice it was that good. Highly recommend the mango.

A chocolate lover’s paradise right in the heart of Venice. The shop smells incredible the moment you walk in, and everything looks like it’s been crafted with care — from the pralines to the spreads. We spent around €42 on assorted chocolates and a jar of “chocolate cream,” and it felt worth every euro. They also treat new customers to a free chocolate and give discounts for future visits, which is such a nice touch. Elegant, generous, and full of that Italian sweetness done right.

It doesn't matter if you miss the Doge's Palace, the Rialto Bridge, or Murano, but you simply cannot miss the Venchi ice cream shop. The best ice cream in Venice, perhaps in the whole world.

Oh wow ! Amazing food - cicchetti, risotto…. Honest prices. The staff are great andare quite accomodating if you do not speak Italian well. The first bite was amazing and continued to impress. I wish I could bring this store and its staff home with me

We stumbled across this cute little bar on a quiet side street. We knew we had to try it when we saw that the other guests were Italian. It was all fantastic. The service, the food, the price. Great place for cicchetti.

Really great experience at this quaint wine bar. I came solo for dinner and the servers were so kind and accommodating. The pasta was incredible - I ordered the tortellini with truffle sauce. So many locals came in and out while I was there so I knew it was an authentic & favorite spot!

A very authentic Venetian restaurant, really good food, great service at a good price. We had octopus pasta and sardines with prawns and polenta. Good atmosphere in the street, recommend this over the more touristy places in Venice.

Very very good comforting food, and lots of wines and spritzes. We tried an artichoke-liquor-spritz here, which was unlike anything we have ever had.

After a few days in Venice, I found myself somewhat bored with the seafood dishes. However, this seafood meal was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. The prices may be a bit steep, but the taste is absolutely worth it. The portions are small, but the flavor is incredibly good. I can’t help but wonder if they’ll be getting Michelin stars soon. The waitress was extremely friendly and professional. I’ll definitely be back if I’m ever back to Venice.

A very great experience! Very nice and cozy atmosphere, Luciano, the owner, makes so easy for you to choose the dishes after his fantastic explanation, very creative cuisine. Specializes in fish, but not forget about the pasta and the original desserts! Definitely, an osteria you should not miss when visiting Venezia!!

Great restaurant with delicious food and tasty wines on a small square.on the way from the ferry boat stop from Murano and the city highlights. The view and interior caught our curiosity and so we went in encountering a wealth of delicacies. Good place to taste local wines at reasonable cost and service is very friendly and welcoming.

We had a fantastic time at Ostaria Boccadoro. We posted up for 3.5 hours and the servers were so friendly and accommodating. We ordered the mussels to start which were amazing and we dipped 500 pieces of bread in the buttery sauce. Then we had the spider crab gnocchi and fish ravioli. Both were melt in your mouth delicious. Make sure to order the panna cotta for dessert - it was unbelievable!

High quality food, local padrone with small jokes, local families dining-in, sitting al fresco on a quiet piazza. Off the beaten Venice tracks but definitely well worth visiting!

We had lunch here on a Thursday afternoon and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. The food was delicious and the service was excellent and friendly. Highly recommend!
