I had a great meal here, wonderful little spot that only seats about 30-people. Reservations are a must but you’ll be glad you made the effort. That wine list is fantastic! It’s incredibly hard to settle on just one bottle.

The most amazing wine list. Had the tasting menu, food was great and clearly designed to complement the wines. Portions were small so you might consider topping up from the a la carte. Service was not particularly warm but that's fine. And you definitely need a reservation.

I found the food lovely but not stunning or worth the price and our overall dining experience was uncomfortable and insulting. food: We opted for the tasting menu which included three starters, two mains and a dessert. portions were quite small. Hake dish included minced hake, minced to same size as the apples and potatoes or was mixed with, but there were far more apples and potatoes than fish, we had a very difficult time finding any fish to be honest. the other fish dish was essentially a doughy fish poached meatball, which had a slight fish flavor, served in a delicious sauce, but the fish was but an essence. rabbit ravioli was very tasty but was but one single ravioli. the other items i don't recall. value: I ordered two glasses of wine, they had 3 reds only by the glass and I was told the first two were natural (and hence "funky") so only one red was a refined option. our check came to 162€ with two dinners and two glasses of wine. we were still a little hungry. service: I made our reservations 2 months prior and we were the first guests to arrive when they opened. despite that, we were seated on a plank of wood over a well on high chairs, facing a wall with our backs to the other guests and the outside dining area, with no room for our long legs. it was awkward and uncomfortable. when I asked to be moved to an empty table for two I was refused. I guess we weren't good enough for an actual table? they also wanted to serve my red Bourgogne wine in a tiny ISO glass and take away the red Bourgogne glass from the "table". what the heck!? as I write this, I'm actually a little angry and offended at the overall experience we had and cannot recommend this restaurant, nor would I return. We had a much more pleasant dining experience at La Lune for a fraction of the price.

Lovely meal, pleasant but unpretentious atmosphere, and a very reasonably priced set lunch menu. The dishes were all tasty (and very pretty), but perhaps a bit more style than substance.

Service was a bit snobby at first. This changed when the owner came in and gave a friendly hello to all the guest in the restaurant. Sommelier was nice! Food was really good. Had the lunch menu with a friend and it’s a 5/5 price/quality wise.

This is a must if you’re going to Beaune. Their pre-fixe dinner is criminally underpriced, and is fantastic—probably the best in Beaune. The real draw for us, though, is their exceptional wine list. This is a place where the same wine on their list would be available for 3-4x elsewhere. This is why it’s very difficult to secure a table. I suggest booking as early as possible. The drawback is that being in summer, we sat out back where other patrons were smoking heavily. It took away from enjoying the wine. Ideally the smoking area is separate enough so non-smokers are not affected.

We’re lucky to get the last minute reservation. After trying I could understand why it’s fully booked. The oyster was of high quality. The risotto was cooked till the right time. The dessert was a perfect ending! They also had a huge wine list. Totally recommend

Good steak. No vegetables. Wine at nine euros a glas ridiculously expensive given location. Nice desert. Total bill 135 euro for two.

Visited on a late day afternoon and they were extremely busy so I had to wait awhile for service, but what service I got was impeccable, the staff were very attentive and made sure everything was good. They served you some chips and snacks without you asking. The food was cooked to perfection, I had the veal and it was so tender and tasty.

It’s just 5* second visit and again superb. The menu is very simple. Many local dishes plus others, all cooked to perfection. The wine list featuring Leflaive Batard to a simple Pinot noir. If you’re in Beaune and you want incredible without over the top flashy, this is your place. Yes yes yes loved it see you for the third visit next time!!

This place is a home run. No pretension, just fantastic food and kind service. We ate: caprese salad, escargots, white asparagus with mustard, duck and mashed potatoes, beef tartare, steak and fries, profiteroles, lemon and raspberry sorbet, and a strawberry tart. Literally everything tasted great.

We dined at Le Bistro de L'Hôtel and opted for the tasting menu for two, primarily for the highly sought-after Bresse chicken, a dish that is hard to come by despite its premium price. Given the cost, I expected the restaurant to be classified as fine dining; however, the service did not meet the standards one would anticipate from such an establishment. While the food itself was delicious, the service fell short, lacking even the basic attentiveness one might find at a casual bistro. Here are a few specific points that contributed to our disappointing experience: Reservation and Seating: I made a reservation online over a month in advance, complete with a credit card deposit. On the day of our visit, I was the first to arrive, yet we were seated at a table directly in front of the staircases—far from an ideal spot. It was disheartening to see later arrivals being assigned more desirable seats by the windows, particularly when they were a party of two. Service and Communication: Each dish was served by a different waiter or waitress, and none of them took the time to introduce the dishes. This lack of communication left us unsure about what we were eating unless we referred to the tasting menu ourselves. For a restaurant of this caliber, I consider this to be a fundamental oversight. Bresse Chicken Service: When the Bresse chicken was served, the staff began cutting it beside our table without any notification. We had no idea the chicken being prepared was for us until we saw someone slicing it. Clear communication in this regard is crucial, especially in a fine dining setting. Wine Pricing: The wine prices were excessively marked up, reaching up to three times the normal retail price. While it's common for restaurants to mark up wine, a threefold increase is excessive and should be approached with caution if you plan to enjoy a bottle during your visit. Overall, our experience at Le Bistro de L'Hôtel was quite disappointing, and I cannot recommend it. The combination of excellent food and subpar service left much to be desired. For a restaurant that positions itself as fine dining, the service should be equally refined to match the quality of the food.

Fabulous meal! Amazing service and extremely voluminous wine menu. The waiters were always attentive. We came for the bresse chicken and it was definitely worth it. The patio was lovely.

Four of us at the hotel and on the second night decided to try their bistro. We are so glad we did. The service, quality of food and wine selection was amazingly top shelf. Of course we enjoyed the roast chicken for two which was out of this world. We also enjoyed fresh cod, veal kidneys, escargot and the best frites we have experienced yet. Wine selection is massive. The staff were very attentive the whole night and enhanced our experience. Highly recommend and worthy of the 5 star rating. They earned it. .

We made the booking by stopping by in person while only the pizza place attached next door was open. I thought for sure they would say “just call back later” but the guy at the pizza place walked out, around the corner and in to the closed restaurant to get the bookings register to take our reservation. We ordered the chefs tasting and a bottle of wine. They did a spin on the Bourgogne oeuf by serving it with a heap of truffles and the Bresse chicken was whole roasted and carved tableside, quite spectacular. The crepe Suzette was also flambeed tableside. Best combination of food and service we received over four days eating in Beaune. I would go back once on every visit.

The Bresse whole roast chicken was easily one of the best meals I have ever eaten. With plenty to share between two of us, the chicken was carved at the table and served in it's own juices. A totally unique flavour.

Ok. This is a must visit restaurant if you are into classic Burgundy cuisine. The food is fantastic and the wine list makes you drool just to peruse it. Dining here is not inexpensive but oh is it worth the splurge. The Bresse chicken for 2ppl is the single greatest chicken dish I have ever tasted. It is carved tableside with such mastery that it looks like you are watching a video played back in high speed. As appetizers we had White Asparagus and Snails; for entrees the Charolais Côte de Boeuf (for 2) and Poulet de Bresse (for 2). The beef was great but GET THE BRESSE. Really.

It's not often that a restaurant experience ticks every single box, but this one does. The menu and wine list lived up to every expectation. I credit the wonderful ambience to the staff, who manage to be efficient, sweet and courteous under pressure. I will go out of my way to visit again.

A beautiful wine cellar restaurant. Service was prompt. Not fast but measured. Jean, meets me and seats me and is always available to ensure a very nice time is had. Snails with garlic cream sauce, beef cheeks bourgoignon was fantastic. Cheese after. Lovely meal, excellent wine by the glass pairings. They wrote down the cheese to remember. Epoisse.

This place was phenomenal. The wine list is overwhelming, but the amazing staff will help you through it. The food is memorable and the cave atmosphere is just right. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. Make sure to get the cheese course!

Fine dining with heart—and some of the best service I’ve encountered in France this year. I walked in unannounced at noon on a Wednesday just to ask about a reservation. Before I could ask for the cellar which was recommended at another venue, they had booked me in that room. When I returned that evening, dressed differently and hours later, they remembered me and treated me like an old friend. From the kir royal aperitif I ordered on arrival to the amuse-bouche that kicked things off, the experience was thoughtful from start to finish. I ended up with perfectly cooked crunchy asparagus, tender chicken, and a cheese plate to close. Each course was paired patiently with wine suggestions that were spot-on. What really sets 21 Boulevard apart is the staff. They appeared at exactly the moments I needed them and never more. It was Michelin-level attention to detail and an uncanny spatial awareness—everyone was attuned, responsive, and deeply professional without being stiff. There’s clearly a strong work ethic and a real teamwork going on behind the scenes, yet the mood was calm. This is the kind of place you take people you want to impress. Absolutely recommend.

Lovely, classy restaurant with delicious food. There are separate dining areas (including the cute cave area and also a terrace, so be sure to decide prior if you want to sit particularly in one of these areas). There is a VERY extensive wine book, with most wines offered by the bottle, and a handful also by the glass. We went for the four-course menu - all delicious and good serving sizes. Would recommend.

We booked this restaurant at fairly short notice for a mid week dinner. The restaurant has a number of separate dinning areas. The one that were in had maybe seven tables and featured a vaulted ceiling. On the evening that we visited everyone in this section spoke English as a first language. The food featured classical Burgundy dishes such as escargot, Oeufs en meurette, Boeuf Bourguignon etc. The food was fine not amazing but nothing to complain about. We live part of the year in Burgundy and have done so for nearly 20 years. Maybe if you are new to the area or a first time visitor you would be more impressed. To us it felt a little like an upscale tourist restaurant. Total cost €250 for four course and one bottle of wine for two people.

Amazing experience with a birthday party of 7 people. We had a private area and very attentive staff which did not lack humor and charm. We were impressed with the quality of food and wine and would come back anytime.

Exceptional food, with an even better service. The escargot (snail) and the bourguignon are one of the best dishes I've had.

Slightly off the beaten path, so it is quiet and feels secluded. If you want crowds and cars, go 50 meters and turn the corner. The menu features regional specialties and custom creations. The wine list is spectacular, from local bargains to bank-busting superstar wines. I had resolved to skip dessert but the choices forced me to get a praline tart. No regrets. Service was that peculiar balance of being responsive while allowing privacy to the table. The courses were excellent (I had the roast chicken and I recommend it). We shall return when next in Beaune and will take a detour when in the area.

Cozy place near the central park of the city. I tried the beef Bourguignon and it did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly, but only the manager spoke a bit of english. The prices are a bit high but I think it was worth it. Very nice list of wines with some that are very pricey. I definitely recommend it.

Unfortunately we had unfriendly staff on our visit. The food was OK and a bit pricey for the region. The meat dishes were more exciting then the fish dishes. We found the menu to be local which was positive.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, but it’s the food that truly shines—creative, beautifully presented, and bursting with fresh, bold flavors. You can taste the passion in every bite. Amazing experience, wonderful staff and great food - totally worth it

We had lunch on a rainy day at this lovely restaurant which lighted our day. The Chef was attentive, we wrote we are pescetarians and he created a special menu for us. Every plate gets full attention to the smallest details and makes a celebration of visual look and taste. Service was very kind and polite. We will be back for sure on a sunny day.

We booked for lunch on a Sunday. What an amazing experience! A hidden gem in a small village. The food was exceptional. Each dish was packed full of flavour and presented with elegance and finesse. Anna and the staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. Our only criticism was perhaps the price of the tasting menu. We felt it was too low for such superb food and service! Thank you so much for such an amazing afternoon which we will not forget.

We have been to 4 Michelin star restaurants on our trip so far and this place has been our favorite dining experience so far. The wine and food pairings have been the best. They deserve a star. Not sure why they don't have a star, they definitely deserve one. It's difficult to find a restaurant that gets the wine and food right on every turn.

We celebrated my birthday wonderfully at this glorious restaurant. Everything was terrific. It’s a small, personalized and celebrated restaurant in the small village of Pommard. As a wine lover, I could have spent an hour drooling over the most extensive wine. Our hostess/sommelier/server, Anna, was remarkably friendly, professional and had an in-depth knowledge and insight into the encyclopaedic list. The many courses were beautifully presented, inventive and profoundly delicious. Not only was this clearly a three Michelin star experience, it was also a friendly and fun experience. We intend on returning when we’re next in France.

Wish I had a place like this in my neighborhood! We liked the more inventive "entrees" over "plats," a vegetable take on Pate en Croute and a puree of peas. French couples dining to our right ordered escargot.

Our Airbnb host recommended here, saying it’s one of the oldest and most loved restaurants/bars in town. We tried to get a table without a reservation on our first night but couldn’t. However thankfully, the waiter helped us book for the next day, so we came back. The food was fantastic, and the wine list was reasonably priced. My husband and I ordered 2 different courses to share everything and literally every dish was amazing. Service was excellent as well — especially the female staff with glasses, who was very helpful. If you want to experience traditional Bourgogne-style cuisine, this is the place to go.

Very good food, good price/quality for the menu. Very interesting wine menu. We complained to a waiter for the prices of water (8€) and the owner was extremely kind to come speak with us and try to make it up to us. Would totally recommend!

4.1* on google is an accurate rating - service was ok, seems filled with tourists. What I was shocked at was the lack of flavour from the beef tartare. Chose this place as a last resort as other restos were fully booked and it was close to our Airbnb.

We had a wonderful dinner with the children. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy. The church was right across the street, which made the setting even more special.

By a little side street lovely restaurant with a great terrace. We had a typical “Bourguignon” diner and loved it. The escargot in the garlic sauce was great and the beef bourguignon was fab. We have since then tried at least 3 other similar dishes. And that was the best !!!

Friendly staff and for a french standards very good english speaking. Food was good , we had the burger and the cheeks , the home made fries were weird but nice. They had a nice interior and offxourse a wine cellar. Dog friendly it was hot and he got water.

Tourist trap. Unfriendly and extremely expensive, even more than the center of Paris! The food was good, yes, but the person serving us did not bother to hide his annoyance. He made faces when we would request stuff and though I understand it was a hot day, the man was dripping in sweat which was quite unpleasant. We only ordered water and entreès, as the mains were unreasonably expensive. Definitely not worth the price

My first and fav meal in Beaune because of the ambience and the delicious food. Upon walking around the little alleys and streets, this place just stood out. It seemed to have the best little outdoor area in a sunny patch overlooking a church or museum that just made you want to dine there- next time I’d love to sit by the big open window, seemed like the best seat in the house. I had a nice beef bourguignon and couple types of vino and crème brûlée and epoissons for dessert, all which were great. Next time would like to try the razor clams. Only thing is that they don’t really acknowledge you when you’re standing around for a table for 10 min while they walk past you, but once you’re seated it’s fine.

The restaurant was recommended to us by friends. The rating on Google Maps is also inviting. The only restaurant in this Beaune suburb promises a high standard. Few places inside and outside require a reservation. The menu offers classic French cuisine. There is a choice of three three-course menus, which, depending on the price, enable an ever-increasing selection of dishes from the menu. We were very satisfied with the appetizer and dessert. The main course weakened significantly and fell off. Unfortunately, the service was also a bit rustic and not of the level that we had hoped for. On Friday I was out of the rabbit hole, which was communicated without sympathy. The cutlery was also rather "thrown down" than lovingly placed. There was no rose by the glass. All in all a maximum of 4 stars

Wonderful find in this lovely village just outside Beaune. Recommended by our host at Fleurs des Vignes and we were not disappointed. Great menu, great service and all freshly prepared. Nice change from the touristy central Beaune restaurants.

An eccentric restaurant densely populated by alabaster animals, the majority being cats. Despite the kitsch, the food was outstanding and moderately priced. We chose the €35 menu which gave us a choice from three dishes per course. All our selections were excellent. There was a large group of locals in the restaurant which gave the place a relaxed, fun atmosphere.

This place is special, from the time we arrived until we left the level of service , friendliness and high quality of food made our evening the best dining in France . We have been dining out for the last three weeks and Garum in my opinion is a hidden gem in Beaune! I’ll be back next year for sure !

We came here based on the Michelin guide recommendation. The food was fine but not exceptional or memorable. I’m not convinced it should be on the Michelin guide. But it wasn’t bad! Just not great. You can see in our pictures what we got. The best flavour were the fries and the cheese. The duck was good but I think could be improved. The wines were great. And I would recommend coming but don’t expect the best meal ever!

I thought the food was exceptionally good. I loved my main dish of slowed cooked beef with egg in an intense reduction. Fabulous wine list of course. Great service and beautiful interior. It looks like it has a lovely area to eat outside but it was pouring with rain the night I was there.

Beware that the beef tartar is made with a non-traditional sauce which I can best describe as being in the direction of soy sauce. The waiter described it as home-made using fermented beef, I believe. I didn't like it very much, though it was a fun touch that they would prepare it right at the table. One point that felt off: when ordering, we asked the waiter if ordering four starters would be too much for two people. The waiter encouraged us, saying it was fine to order this. I'm not sure if we were told that it's *allowed* to order it, or if it's *recommended* to order this much. In any case, we were surprised when the beef tartar came with a side of fries — since we had also ordered fries ourselves. We would have appreciated clear information from the waiter that we're ordering the same item twice. We were going to drive in the afternoon, and thus didn't have wine. I got the feeling that our visit would have been better if we had been able to sit and enjoy some champagne and wine on the large terrace. We were looking for a smaller bit, a salad perhaps, but didn't really find it on the menu. This place is better suited for a longer and bigger meal.

The experience was amazing. We dined outside, and the service was perfect. The atmosphere was laid back, classy, romantic vibe. The cuisine was perfect. The duck was delicious! The entire experience was one to remember.

Large health food and organic grocery store with a wider than usual selection of fresh produce and cheeses. Sometimes pricey but surprisingly sometimes not. We got good deals on melons, kefir and tortillas.

Great supermarket for better quality, if also more expensive, food stuffs. Really good range of fruit and veg, plus a proper in-store butcher. Think 'Whole Foods' but French.

Had the pleasure of meeting Marjorie herself while she was opening up her store; what a lovely woman to talk to. I didn’t know I was basically talking to a celebrity. :) She kindly offered to let us in a little early, we were in desperate need of good coffee, and when we came back a little later her son in law delivered. Best coffee in town by far, and of the best espressos I ever had. The store is a feast for the eyes.

Very understated from the outside, but enter and whole place just comes alive and you enter into a magical place. Love places like this!!! Have to tell you this is a spectacular and awe inspiring shop, with some magnificent equipment and cooking utensils. The back area is like an atrium with the most amazing view of an enclosed courtyard and a spiral staircase. Worth taking a look and a browse around. They even do cooking classes, but you have to book in advance, very popular. Oil, and the coffee is fantastic!!!

Just a quick question. Are the chefs French heritage or are they Americans? I didn’t want to leave a star rating yet but could not post my question without doing so. I haven’t been but I was looking for a French cooking school and just came across this site. Hoping to visit their store sometime this fall. It looks fabulous.

We spent an amazing day with the Cook’s Atelier family. We opted for the Saturday market tour and then a cooking class followed by a leisurely lunch. Surprised by the review where someone thought this was just an Ok class. We’ve done cooking classes in several countries and this was our favorite. Warm and friendly with a lot of great food and wine. It seems some don’t feel a class is challenging enough and my take is they have to make a group class approachable for all levels. If you want a highly skilled class then do a private lesson Rollie join a class that is billed as such (this one is very clearly advertised as a fun, leisurely day ended with a long leisurely lunch). I’m a pretty decent cook and felt I picked up plenty of useful tips I’ll use at home. They also have a great shop downstairs with a lot of fun items to take home.

The cooking class with Marjorie and Kendall was an incredible and unforgettable experience! Marjorie and Kendall were wonderful hosts of Beaune and truly made us feel welcome. We started the morning with a tour of the market and met some of Marjorie and Kendall's favorite local farmers and suppliers. After the cooking class, we enjoyed an amazing meal and conversation with other travelers, all with excellent service from the Cook's Atelier staff. Marjorie and Kendall even went as far as offering recommendations to us for restaurants, bakeries, and some of their other favorites in the area.

We enjoyed our experience at The Cook’s Atelier. However, it did fall short of our expectations. While nothing was out of order, it did not deliver the bang for buck we expected. We have done cooking classes in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Thailand and Singapore in recent years. At each and every course we walked away with recipes in hand. When asked if we would receive recipes for the dishes we prepared today, we were told we must purchase the cookbook. This cheapened the entire experience for me even though it was the most expensive class of this type ever taken. Additionally at rates like these, I did not expect to sit with an empty wine glass or to have to ask twice for more water for the table. It’s the little things that count when you are expecting attention to every detail. We have eaten at gourmet restaurants such as Gordon Ramsey’s “Maze” in London for less than we paid today and had the preparation of each dish thoroughly explained as well as the wine pairing selections. All in all, a nice experience, definitely not a negative one, but not as great as one would expect for the price of admission.

We were drawn in by the board outside boasting the 'best ice coffee' in Beaune, but they have nowhere to sit and enjoy it (which we weren't told until after we had ordered - we figured we could go upstairs to the 'attic'). We stood wandering about the shop trying to drink up and leave quickly because the owner was complaining loudly on the phone and in the store, seemingly because the air con unit had been installed a couple of inches off-centre. It was unprofessional and made us feel very uncomfortable. The shop is beautifully laid out, the cooking equipment is stunning (very expensive) and there was a generous wine selection, but it was hard for us to understand why their coffee was advertised - nowhere to sit, not particularly special and very pricy (€9 for two black coffees).
