Taiwanese restaurant
Misen is a renowned restaurant in Nagoya, known for its delectable Chinese cuisine. One of their popular dishes is the Misen noodle, which was recommended by hotel staff and praised for its deliciousness. The restaurant's Ra-ja-men, a soupless ramen dish, is also highly regarded for its tastiness despite being a bit spicy.
We are really excited to try out famous Misen noodle in Nagoya. This was highly recommended by our hotel staff and it was very delicious. Make sure to ask restaurant staff to reduce spice level if you don’t like spicy food. The soup and minced beef is quite spicy!
Yang Y — Google review
This restaurant is very famous in Nagoya. I had Ra-ja-men (it is a ramen without soup). It was very tasty. It was a bit spicy but I recommend to eat if you visit in Nagoya.
Naoooz — Google review
Staff, especially the young foreign girl staff member was lazy and inattentive. Food was below average. The wait was long because no one bothered to check so you had one person sitting at a table for four, and six different people having to share a large table. Just awful.
Nines N — Google review
They are SOOOOO SLOOWWWWW, if you go and there is a line be sure you brought a book or a movie to watch. The food is good though

I was told Taiwan Ramen was a Nagoya specialty, so decided to give it a try. I arrived around 6:30pm for dinner and was third in line, so the wait was about 10-15 minutes. They clean up tables very quickly and get the next person in line seated fast. I ordered a Taiwan ramen with egg and a gyoza. The ramen portion was small, so adding a side was definitely worth it. It’s also properly spicy, not like most Japanese versions of other spicy food. Overall it tasted like mapo tofu ramen without any tofu, which is a little disappointing as I love tofu but it was still a very tasty bowl in the end.

Ramen restaurant
Josui is a relaxed ramen shop in Nagoya, known for its traditional noodle soups served in their signature white bowls. Despite Nagoya's reputation for heavy, fried foods, Josui offers a departure from that with its light and healthy ramen. The shio ramen is particularly popular among ramen enthusiasts. While there may be a wait due to its popularity, the experience of watching the bustling kitchen adds to the fun atmosphere.
Fanstastic ramen, light and tasty. The noodle are hard! Al dente! Wow
Giulio T — Google review
had to wait quite some time in line but it was totally worth it. no english menu so plan accordingly. fun atmosphere where you can see everything going on in the kitchen. the noodles were perfect, the broth was rich and tasty. the pork soft and flavorful. the egg was nice and jammy. i would definitely recommend this place, and i would certainly come back.

I have gone to the same ramen shop in LA. The taste was very very nice, my kids love this ramen!! We can eat the good one!! You should stop by, when go to Nagoya!!
WeDnesday — Google review
Great ramen place. The soup of the salt ramen was really tasty and richer than the typical salt ramen. The sour salty dipping sauce of the tsukemen was well matched fort the noodles.
Ronel R — Google review
I come for the tantanmen. It's very well made and properly spicy, not ungodly hot like some places. It's not the best, but it's not horrible at all.
Shammah A — Google review
This place is known for its shio ramen but I personally don't care for that style. Instead I tried their shoyu ramen. The flavor was strong and the ingredients tasted fresh.
EriMin — Google review
Lukewarm ramen and hard pork. The soup is tasteless. Adding a very long time queuing to get there and it leave not much room for good impression.

Ramen restaurant
Shishimaru is a casual dining spot with counter seats that's famous for its unique "dipping" soups and spiny lobster soups. Visitors highly recommend the chicken broth ramen, which is described as exceptionally delicious. The place seems to be popular among locals, as one visitor mentioned being the only foreigner during their meals there. Despite having to wait for about an hour during dinner time, the overall experience was worth it.
Wow. What a wonderful experience. As a non-Japanese, I searched for a good Ramen place in Nagoya. This was an unexpected delight. Thank you. I had the spicy Ramen, and it suited me, I like it hot but not overly hot. I am Caucasian ;). The Ramen evolved through the meal and the noodles were outstanding. A cash only arrangement, with a vending machine style of ordering. What more Japanese can you get.
Nicholas V — Google review
Got the Wagyu Ramen and it was the best I've ever had. Did not expect it to be so creamy but it worked very well! Just enough green onion and grilled flavor to be noticable but not over powering. The slice of lemon added a great zest! The fact that this ramen is so good for such a simple price is stunning. They are definitely in it for the love of ramen! I will be back to try the Spicy Sesame and I can't wait!
Luke B — Google review
arrived at 10.45am on a Sunday during end of Summer season in Sep, queue took 40mins. was it worth the queue? this one definitely. both ramen i had was very unique, spicy cold broth ramen and chicken baitan ramen, never tasted ramen like that anywhere else. its good too! the broth is thick and creamy for the batan ramen, and the cold spicy ramen is cold. really enjoyed this. if there was no queue, i would come back again to try other flavours
Jason Y — Google review
Little ramen tavern with only 10 seats available and majority in front of the bar so you can see the transparent process of cooking and preparing. Given that queueing is inevitable, mind the rule of queuing and not to jump into the long queue while your group is not fully presented yet. Self-service of ordering and paying machine will be seen and introduced as soon as you entered the tavern. Not much services available as it’s self service but the staffs did come out to maintain order and ask those who didn’t follow the rules to leave the queue so i think 2 stars to show appreciation shall be fair. Chicken broth is creamy and brightened up by the seasoning of red papers and bit of shrimpy taste in the dashi. Wagyu broth is fairly thick and comes with thinner noodles, both worth trying!
Melissa L — Google review
One of the best Ramen in Nagoya that we have tried. Wr reached at about 5.30pm on a Friday and waited about 15 mins. Tried the chicken and pork Ramen. Frothy soup with unconventional sides to accompany the Ramen. Must try the seasoning if you love pepper, it adds more flavour to the already flavourful bowl. Highly recommended.
Eugene M — Google review
The noodle with the shrimp taste soup is a must-try and it is not expensive, just @1200yen. If you are allergic to shrimps, the chicken soup noodle is also excellent at 1000yen.
Simon Y — Google review
Found this place on Google and decided to make the trip since it was nearer to us. If you are there in a BIG group, do note that you will likely need to split up and everyone needs to be in the queue. I ordered the A5 Wagyu Beef Ramen, with special side dish, totally ¥2,100 and it’s totally worth it. The soup is very rich and creamy, definitely one for those who enjoy the thick and creamy soup based. Note that they accepted local cashless payment and cash. You will buy and pay via the vending machine before given a seat.
Sunny T — Google review
Was there in a rainy night, queuing up outside for about half an hour, but worth it! I didn’t order their famous creamy chicken soup ramen but went for the regular sauce ramen with a set which was really delicious. The mushroom sauce they put in the soup had a taste like white truffle, flavored the whole ramen amazingly and smoothened the soup prettily! Will definitely go again and have the chicken soup ramen next time.

Ramen restaurant
Ramen Kanade is a must-visit spot in Nagoya, especially for ramen enthusiasts. This small establishment has gained recognition as the top-ranking ramen place in Aichi according to certain ramen magazines. The delicious noodles, flavorful soup, bamboo sprouts, and cha shao make it a popular choice among locals and visitors alike. However, due to its limited seating capacity of only seven seats, there might be a wait for a table.
The toppings are usually delicious and do not interfere with the soup, and it is a good salt plum with an emphasis on noodles and soup.
Faiq N — Google review
Small ramen place (only 7 seats), but taste was really good. The shoyu chashumen serving was generous (free upsize). The staff were also respectful.
Ronel R — Google review
I really love this ramen place. I think it is my favourite one in Nagoya. If you are around, you should try it! Be warned though, it is popular, so you might have to wait to go inside
Jo D — Google review
Nice raman! Owner wore t shirt with slogan "No Raman No Life!" That's cute! Everything is tasty, the noodles, the soup, the bamboo sprouts, the cha shao. Please come and enjoy your raman moment.

(Translated by Google) Today I went to "Ramen Kanade", which I had been interested in for a while. It's a very popular restaurant, and when I visited around 1pm there was a line of about 7 people. The turnover was relatively fast and I was able to enter in about 30 minutes. I ordered the Shio Ramen for 800 yen by purchasing the ticket from the ticket machine first. What great value for money in these times! The Shio Ramen I got had a clear soup with one piece of pork and one piece of chicken char siu. When I took a sip of the soup it had a simple salty taste, but it had a very deep flavor with no impurities and was very delicious. The noodles were chewy and the ramen was very stable. I particularly liked the chicken char siu, which added a nice accent to the dish. The taste was pure, so it wasn't too heavy and I was able to enjoy it until the very end. Next time I'd like to try the large size or the Niboshi ramen. Thank you for the meal!

(Translated by Google) October 4, 2025, 11:30 AM It was raining, so there were about three people waiting in line outside. Since it was my first time at the restaurant, I ordered the 950 yen soy sauce ramen, which I'd been wanting to try. It doesn't come with an egg unless you order it as a topping. The broth was absolutely perfect. The soy sauce ramen's homemade noodles were medium-thick and chewy, and delicious. The salt ramen had different noodles, more like thin noodles. It also came with two slices of pork, each with a different flavor. It had a rich flavor that you wouldn't expect from pork, and one slice was surprisingly tender and delicious. I'd like to try the salt ramen next time. I think this is a restaurant worth returning to.

Noodle shop
Udon noodle restaurant
Ekikama Kishimen is a Nagoya specialty featuring flat and thin noodles made from water, flour, and salt. These noodles require less boiling time compared to regular udon. They can be enjoyed in hot soup with various toppings or served cold with a dipping sauce. There are numerous variations of this dish, including curry kishimen and miso-infused kishimen. The broth is highly recommended, especially when paired with condiments for added spiciness.
Looks simple but yummy. I ordered beef noodles and top up w spinach. It also comes w copious amount of grated radish. Makes it all the more delicious. The one I went is at nagoya station before the gantry. Just walk towards aonomi line and the shop is right outside the gantry. Can't miss it
Tz O — Google review
Good place to eat breakfast since they open from 7am and offer a set menu just for breakfast. I went to try out Kishimen and found that it wasn't really to my taste. The soup was quite tasty, but the noodles weren't so chewable.
Joy L — Google review
Kishimin here was slightly above average. Noodles and broth were fresh and delicious. Ingredients were fresh and appropriate in light of only 1850 yen for 2 persons' dinner. 3 stars
Hock T — Google review
Great spot for a quick meal. We had cold kishimen with tempura. The noodle here is very chewy, absolutely delicious. They are also very generous with the portion.
Aukkarapoan P — Google review
Had an early morning Meitetsu train and wanted to have another Mishima before I left, so this was the only option for me (the other two are inside JR gates). But i might have picked the wrong choice. Kariaage soaked in the soup spoiled everything: the kariaage was soggy (not the most pleasant texture), and the soup turned oily in less than 30 sec. It was still fragrant with rather clean and strong bonito flavor right after served. I almost regretted taking this breakfast (coz I delayed my train schedule for it). The noodles weren’t as wide and thin as other places, which is not a bad thing but not something I went for.
Shih C — Google review
Tasty broth that wasn’t too salty.good portions! Order from the machine then queue up for a table. Has English menu options.
Renita S — Google review
One of the specialty of Nagoya: Kishimen. The soup is really tasty, recommend to add the condiment on the table is you like some spiciness. The bowl is very value for money as well, 650 for the plain version and you can add 70yen for egg.

Delicious flat udon with egg drop soup, preparation time was quite fast, and we were seated in the restaurant quite fast although there were quite some other people

Ramen restaurant
Ramen dai Nagoya is a must-visit for ramen enthusiasts seeking an authentic experience. This no-frills eatery features counter seating and specializes in thick-noodle ramen, which is distinctively different from other varieties due to its rich, creamy broth made from simmered tonkotsu pork or chicken bones. A standout topping here is katsuobushi, the dried skipjack tuna that imparts a delightful smoky flavor to each bowl.
Came right on 11am opening time and was seated without wait. Very generous serving of ramen and vegetable topping that I could only manage to eat half. Very delicious and cheap for the price!
Judy B — Google review
It was a very hot day and the restaurant is very hot. However the ramen was very cheap and large. If you’re looking to fill yourself up most definitely come here for some cheap grubs. They have choices of free toppings, vegetables, garlic, extra salt or extra oil and you can choose all of the above. I had the “regular” size bowl and it was more than enough for 2 people.
Howard W — Google review
Famous local spot, good jiro style ramen, for foreigners like me that don't speak japanese, here are steps by steps 1. Get into the line 2. When it's almost your turn, go to the ticket machine and choose your size (just follow ppl in front of you) 3. Go back to your line 4. The master will ask what size, show him your ticket 5. Once you sit down, the master will ask what kind of toppings you want, if you want everything just say zen mashi Good luck and enjoy

!! Important !! The amount of food is way too much for girls. Taste was good, lots of meat, but it was too much, I could barely finish 10% of the food. I'm not a small eater, I usually eat 8-10 sushi for a meal, but this is toooooo much. It's a popular noodle shop.
Chen L — Google review
This ramen was certainly one of the best “Jiro” style ramen I had. It is less oily compared to the other similar ramens and its taste is well balanced. However I would make it clear that this is not a usual style of ramen, so if you are a visiting foreigner who never have tried Jiro style and expecting a normal Japanese ramen, this is not the place to be. If you know what it is and looking for this particular type? This is one of the best you could try!

Regular size is 750 yen. And it’s enough for a adult. 4 extra elements can be added free. Not too salty,a bit greasy ,100 percent delicious and feel so nice to eat lots of vegetables.
楊哲豪 — Google review
This bar sitting ramen stall is just insane. I was drawn here because I passed by several times while walking to my hotel and there is always a long queue awaiting outside. Hence, I've decided to investigate. Their basic bowl comes at only 800 yen and you have 4 toppings that you can add on for absolutely free. Pork fat, garlic, cabbage or sprouts are all free to add on. But let me warn you. The basic bowl is already super humongous! If you decide to add on everything, you will have a gigantic bowl up to 10inches table level where you will be confused where to stick your chopstick. Size aside, the ramen is really springy the broth really heavy and everything about it is so flavorful and delightful. But once again, beware of the size. I am not kidding.

Ramen restaurant
The ramen establishment, known as "日の出らーめん 名駅西口分店," offers delectable and substantial noodles that are highly regarded. It should be noted that relying on Google maps for directions may not be the best option, as local recommendations have proven to be far more reliable in terms of quality, despite receiving lower ratings on the digital platform. The noodles themselves are noteworthy for their thickness and a delicate egg layer.
Amazing thick noodles. Google maps in Japan is not realiable, all the places recommended by locals (and tested by myself) were just amazing, but below 4 in google maps. Japanese perfectionism! These noodles, with a slight egg layer were just amazing!!!
Giulio T — Google review
At the entrance, there was a sign that said, “First-time customers should choose either ‘Tsukemen’ or ‘Mazemen (?)’.” However, I chose ramen. Among the three types of ramen—seafood soy sauce, rich umami soy sauce, and rich salt—I ordered the rich umami soy sauce. It was described as “a popular basic ramen with a rich pork bone and seafood flavor.” The texture of the noodles is top-class around Nagoya Station. The soup is thick and rich, but delicious without any unpleasant smell or heaviness, and the generous amount of shredded white leek harmonized wonderfully. The thick slices of chashu were also tender and delicious.

Ramen restaurant
Ramen Ajisai is a cozy Japanese noodle shop in Nagoya, renowned as the city's top restaurant. The star of the menu is their special soy sauce ramen, featuring a delightful blend of signature soy sauce soup and house-made thin noodles. Toppings include chewy bamboo shoots and medium-rare chicken breast chashu that resembles smoked ham.
Ramen-Ajisai is one of the best noodle shops in Japan. It has been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand in Aichi and has received the Tabelog Top 100 Ramen Shop in Japan award for six consecutive years. Ramen-Ajisai was also selected as the best noodle shop in Aichi in 2017 and 2018 by Ramen Walker, a renowned ramen magazine in Japan. The long preparation time results in rich and impactful flavors of the noodles and soup. The homemade noodles are soft, chewy, and al dente, perfectly complementing the soups. Five types of blended soy sauce provide a crisp, sweet, yet deep and light flavor that pairs well with the rich and impactful taste of the free-range black Satsuma chicken soup, which contains a lot of umami, the fifth basic taste. Upon your first taste, you’ll be struck by the aroma of the mixed soy sauce and free-range chicken. As you continue to savor the dish, the exquisite acidity, richness, and sweetness will beautifully unfold in your mouth. Given the popularity of Ramen-Ajisai, customers often form long lines before the shop opens. If you prefer not to wait, it’s recommended to book a reservation through TableCheck.

I made a table check fast pass reservation at 3pm (I even took taxi to catch it because my flight was delayed). It took me 5 mins to get in and order a shoyu ramen. But that's where I started to experience the horrible service. There must be a miscommunication or mistake in how they sequence their orders - i was sitting Infront of the counter and I saw the assistant chef discarded my ticket, while the same shoyu ramen was served to someone else. 40 mins later, the assistant chef realized, and she asked the server who guided me in to check. He started to look into each ticket and check which one was my ticket then verify with me and the server apologized. The chef then made 4 other ramens for other customers which has been sequenced - okay I won't blame too much on that, that's the kind of inflexibility that japanese culture always has. It eventually took 45 mins for my ramen. It took me 15 mins to finish - it's one of the top shoyu ramen in Japan indeed, but might not worth the wait and travel as it's in a remote residential area. The most upset thing is that, I have never heard a word of apology from the assistant chef and the chef (it looks like they are the owners) or any expression from them. I am not sure whose fault it is, as a professional, I believe the senior and the owner should always take the accountability and step up in such situation, especially in a customer service industry. Don't even mention it's hospitality industry where professionals always try their best to recover when such happened as they really put customer experience as their top priority.

Either go early (before opening) or late (14:00~) as on between the queue literally takes at least 1 hour before you get in the shop. Shoyu base ramen noodles is the speciality of the place. The Noddles are home made. The taste of the soup is light so it is recommended to understand the delicate taste of Japan cuisine to plainly understand it. The master ensure his customers get the ramen taste as he want to present it. There are no pepper nor any other spices on the counter. Chashu is ok

Very good, close to perfect. Worth visit if around Nagoya. If you are from Tokyo, then no need to be here, at least half a dozen of similar style ramen taste there even better than this. Check out tabelog and ramendb for detail.

The only one thing want to mention is the long queue… I arrived around 11:50… When I sit down in the restaurant it’s 13:30… So if you really have time or no worry about waiting in the long queue. Then you can visit… During summer, it’s too hot and humid when you wait in the parking. But food is nice and you can listen Jazz music when you have ramen….

Very good shoyu ramen with chicken oil. Well balanced, toppings are first class too. Love the wanton, few types of charsiu (doesn't really need any additional seasoning because the soup really is the star) Easy to consume the entire soup. Saw neighbor having tsukemen, that could be the next item in subsequent times! Requires waiting so prepare to come early but it is well worth it!

Tsukemen Maruwa Haruta Honten is a renowned ramen restaurant in Nagoya, known for its variety of "no-soup" noodle dishes like "No-Soup Taiwan" and "No-Soup Shrimp Salt Taiwan". The signature dish, "No-Soup Taiwanese Soba", offers thick noodles with a flavorful sauce. In addition to the no-soup options, they also serve various types of ramen including dipping noodles.

It has a strong seafood flavor, as well as a rich animal flavor. The salt content was about the same as the normal version, and it was incredibly delicious. The only day you can get it is Thursday. Quantities are limited so get there early. (Translated by Google) This is a popular tsukemen restaurant. I was craving rich tsukemen, so I searched and this place came up, so I went. They have two types, light and rich, and both have a unique sour flavor. The light one is called Karoku tsukemen, and in addition to being sour, the noodles are thin, so it felt like a tsukemen version of cold Chinese noodles. The rich one is called Maruwa tsukemen, and it's not extremely rich, but is about the same as a regular seafood and pork bone tsukemen. They also have mazesoba, regular soy sauce ramen, and rich ramen. The mazesoba and soy sauce ramen are just average, nothing particularly noteworthy. The rich ramen is called Maruwa Chuka, and is reminiscent of Tenkaippin and Nokou Gundan, and is my personal favorite.

(Translated by Google) I arrived right when they opened on Friday. I lined up, but I was able to get in without any hassle. I ordered 500g of Maruwa Tsukemen! I was a bit worried that I'd ordered too much, but I managed to finish it all. 🤤 The soup has a well-balanced blend of animal-based ingredients, so it's not overpowered by a strong seafood flavor. But that's what makes it so good! The carefully balanced trinity of flavors keeps you coming back for more! The noodles disappeared in no time. If you run out of soup, you can order more for an additional fee, but 500g of noodles was all I needed. 😊 The noodles were smooth and chewy, and delicious even without any toppings. The aroma was also great! If I had to nitpick, I'd say the table condiments were just chili pepper, chili oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper. There aren't many options for changing the flavor, but since I ate the noodles nonstop, it wasn't really necessary. I wish they had rock salt to enhance the flavor of the noodles. 🤔 There are three parking lots with plenty of space, making it easy to use. 🚙 The staff are very friendly and cheerful, and I always feel great when I leave. That alone makes me want to come back. They also have limited-edition items, so I think this will become a regular spot!

Hanabi is a popular restaurant known for being the originator of Taiwan Mazesoba, a local Nagoya ramen specialty. With multiple locations in the greater Nagoya area and expansion into Japan and other Asian countries, it has gained widespread acclaim. Customers praise the signature bowl with 300g noodles at level 3 spiciness, noting that the spice level provides a satisfying kick. The self-service ordering system may pose a language barrier, but friendly staff are willing to assist.
Amazing mazesoba place! I got their signature bowl with 300g noodles at level 3 spiciness and it was perfect. The spice level definitely gave a good kick so go for lower if you don't eat spicy food often. Make sure to request for the vinegar to add to the ramen - it enhances the taste a tonne. You'll need to place your order at a self service machine that does not have an English menu

Izakaya restaurant
Tebasaki Mutsumi is a popular dish in Nagoya, Japan, known for its seasoned, deep-fried chicken wings that are made without batter. These wings are crispy, salty, and spicy and are often enjoyed with a cold beer at local izakayas. One famous spot to try Tebasaki is Furaibo, where the chicken wings are spiced the traditional way.
One of the best chicken wings I’ve ever had! It’s so juicy and flavourful, would definitely recommend it if you’re looking to have some snacks before or after dinner. It’s also a good place to chat with friends.

Friends. On our 2nd day of staying in Nagoya, I decided to try the local Tebasaki(Nagoya Fried Chicken Wings) and found this place through Google. It's hidden in a small alley so it's easy to miss. When we arrived, we were greeted by one of the staff members who told us to wait since the restaurant was fully occupied. After waiting a couple of minutes we were let in and sat by the counter bar. Highly recommended you book in advance if you can. The staff doesn't speak English but we managed to communicate with our limited Japanese, Google Translate and they have an English Menu so you can just pick what you want. We got a complimentary Mac & Cheese while we waited for our orders. I ordered 8 pieces of Tebasaki wings with Black sweet sauce which are cooked to order so it took 15-20min and the wait was well worth it. The chicken was tender, crispy, and savoury. It was that addicting to eat but recommend you order a drink or two as you get easily dry. Highly recommend and will definitely come back the next time I visit Nagoya.

Best tebasaki in Nagoya? Nagoya is famous for fried chicken wings and many people said this is possibly the best fried chicken wings here. I made a reservation but if you come at opening time (5pm), you can walk in and grab a seat. The space is quite cozy with counter seats. They have three flavours here: White (salt & pepper), Red (savoury & spicy) and Black (sweet soy sauce). No one could decide on a unanimous best flavour, so I ordered all to try. It comes in 3 (560Yen), 5 (890Yen) or 8 (1,360Yen) wings. For me, I liked the White and Red. The Black is a bit sweet for me. I will not say it’s the best wings but the wings are delicious. I would also recommend ordering a drink. They have many drink options, from alcoholic to soft drinks. By the way, there’s a compulsory pasta salad appetiser (250Yen) that you have to order.

Mad popular! I was so lucky to get in without a reservation. Was my first time having Tebasaki and the vibes were immaculate. Saw that Avril Lavigne signed the wall TWICE!! I myself gobbled down 10 wings while the couples were sharing and I'll definitely bring my friends back here to experience this again.

I visited this place today with my friend. Just bar (Izakaya) hopping , happened to end up here. I had more than a few drinks I do think they can do a lot better with the food. Just in my personal opinion the dish was salty BUT I loved the atmosphere and the service by the staff. I would definitely visit again to try out their menu.

I went without a reservation right at opening time, but even then they told me they could only accommodate me until 6:30 p.m. So if you want to try it, I definitely recommend making a reservation. And you absolutely should try it with a reservation. I tried all three types of Tebasaki and the Black and Red Bon Bons. They were all delicious, but my number one pick is definitely the Black Bon Bon — it was amazing. Also, Bon Bons are easier to eat compared to the wings. Of course, they go perfectly with a Sapporo. The staff were friendly and polite, and I would definitely love to come back and spend an evening here.

Tonkatsu restaurant
Miso Katsu Futaba is a delightful culinary gem nestled in Nagoya, where the love for Hatcho Miso shines through every dish. This restaurant has been serving up its signature miso cutlet for over 40 years, and it’s no wonder why locals and visitors alike flock here to indulge in this savory treat. The miso sauce is sweet and rich, perfectly complementing the crispy fried cutlet that arrives fresh from the kitchen.
(Translated by Google) It's located in Eska, the underground shopping mall at Nagoya Station, so it's very accessible. There's a menu outside, and I chose to visit because the rice bowls are reasonably priced. I ordered the miso bowl (950 yen including tax). It came with red miso soup and pickled radish. The bowl itself is a little small, and although you wouldn't know it at first glance, there are two layers of cutlet, making it quite a lot. This was great. The sauce is sweet, but I thought the seasoning itself was very easy to eat (although some people still might not like it, so it might be best to start with something like kushikatsu). The red miso soup isn't too sweet, so it's the perfect palate cleanser (personally, I prefer this miso cutlet with a stronger flavor). Also, as others have said, the rice was a little soggy. This bothered me a little. Still, I thought it was good value for money for a quick meal at the station and the portion size. I also ordered dote-ni (780 yen) as an extra. It's a classic dish containing daikon radish and beef, and the seasoning is very easy to eat and delicious. Both the miso katsu and dote-ni are seasoned in an easy-to-eat way that everyone will enjoy, so I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try some Nagoya specialties (when I've had it at other restaurants, the miso flavor is stronger and it's so rich that it's clearly a matter of personal preference). The rice bowls in particular are good value for money, so I recommend them. Thank you for the meal.

The batter was also light. And what about the miso sauce on top? This is just my personal opinion, but it wasn't as sweet and spicy as Yabatan's, but it was still rich enough. Well, I guess it's the right thing to eat since I've come to Nagoya. Other menu items include a wide range of sets geared towards tourists. The service is polite, friendly and reassuring. (Translated by Google) I went there hoping to eat miso katsu. The miso used for the katsu has remained unchanged for 40 years since the restaurant opened, and it was sweet and delicious. The miso sauce was generously applied, allowing me to enjoy the delicious flavor of the miso. The katsu was also fried to a crisp, and went perfectly with the miso! The soba noodles that came with it were just the right amount. If I had to say something, it would have been nice if there had been paper napkins or tissues on the table, as there was nothing to dry myself off except for the initial wet towel. Unagi restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Seafood restaurant
Atsuta Horaiken Main Restaurant is a must-visit for seafood enthusiasts, offering a delightful dining experience. Established in 1873, this restaurant's Nagoya location is its flagship branch and is immensely popular among locals. The restaurant's dry landscape layout creates a beautiful environment where guests are required to remove their shoes upon entry. The eel rice set meal, particularly the eel bones and eel rice for four, comes highly recommended.
Another Unforgettable Restaurant This is another must-visit restaurant for me whenever I come to Nagoya. I have to say, they serve the best unagi rice bowl I’ve ever had in my life. If you’re planning to eat here, I highly recommend getting in line and writing your name down for a reservation. I arrived at the restaurant around 10:40 AM on a Monday, even though it opens at 11:30 AM, and I finally got to eat at 1:10 PM. While waiting, you can visit a nearby temple to pass the time. Whatever you do, don’t miss out on the unagi rice bowl! And let me warn you—don’t hesitate to order the largest size, or you’ll regret it. When you’re here, you have to go all in! The hot, fluffy rice paired with perfectly grilled eel, coated in a secret sauce perfected over nearly 200 years, is simply unbeatable. The eel’s skin is thin and crispy, the aroma is incredible, and the taste is rich yet never overwhelming—there’s absolutely no fishy smell. I love this restaurant so much, and I think about it every time I visit Japan.

Other than the restaurant doesn’t take reservation and the wait time can be very long (in our case it was over 2 hours), this eel fish specialty restaurant is excellent. Highly recommended you leave you name to the restaurant and they will tell you around what time you should come back, then go to nearby izakaya (Japanese tavern) or a cafe to have a drink and some snacks before the proper meal. The eel fish is grilled to perfection, they teach you to eat it in 3 different, personal favorite is still eating the original way without any extra seasonings or soup. Highly recommended the grill eel fish liver, it is very tasty and the taste texture is surprisingly chewy instead of silky. Service wise, is friendly and efficient once you get into the restaurant. Atmosphere wise they have a tiny little Japanese garden which is quite pretty, the dinning hall are very traditional style meanwhile you get to seat on comfortable chairs and proper table instead of tatami.

I visited the main branch, which is very beautiful and has the feel of an old house with a lovely garden around it. I didn’t have to wait long—just 20 minutes (I arrived 5:20 PM). Hitsumabushi was quite delicious! The rice is delicious! The rice is mixed with a lot of sauce, which makes it very flavorful (while at other restaurants, the sauce is usually only on top of the rice) But the skin of grilled unagi isn't very crispy and doesn't have much of a charcoal aroma The soup poured over the rice is well done and served hot—pouring it over the rice is fantastic! (At other places, the soup is only warm and cools down quickly.) Normally, I don’t enjoy the soup poured over it, but at this restaurant, I really enjoyed it. I tried the Deep-fried eel bones as well. Eating them with salt was fantastic. They were delicious, super crispy, and didn’t soak up any oil. The staffs were lovely and can speak ENG.

Visited on Wed 9 April 2025 without reservation before restaurant opens for dinner. Food arrived pipping hot, skin crispy and inside was soft. Not overly sweet; rice portion was huge! Price a little high but it was worth it! Beautiful grounds.

Came at 1130am. A waiter was at the entrance to take down the name for queue and we were told to come back at 2pm for a table. Immediately brought in when we arrived at 2pm. The Unagi rice was so good and fragrant. Will definitely come back again

The restaurant maybe iconic by historical events but the current culinary skills and services are not good. Another tourist trap catering mainly for Asian expats. After waiting for about 90 minutes outside we were allowed by “big boss inside” and were greeted by “cold” acting unfriendly staff. There was kind of quiet and eery atmosphere as people silently awaited “famous” food. The food arrived after more than 25 minutes and was not same as advertised, the website food photos and actual food photos are so much different. There is almost no unagi in the bowl and the strips of seafood covering boiled rice have thickness of fried bacon. After having unagi in many places like Tokyo or San Francisco we were totally surprised by poor food quality and dissatisfied. On the top of that the menu is overpriced at least 5 times costing ¥5000+ while the better unagi dish at local market is about ¥1100. Overall we were totally disappointed and had a very bad experience. Lessons learned don’t ever believe web media food stories.

A well-known Nagoya fried chicken restaurant. Of course, the signature menu is fried chicken which the taste is unique but not that outstanding. Beside this menu, there are many other menu. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is quite tough and full with annoying fog. The price is okay but it would be more convincing if cheaper.

Udon noodle restaurant
Nadai Kishimen Sumiyoshi is a popular spot in Nagoya Station, known for its flat noodles similar to udon called kishimen. The restaurant offers a tachikui (eating while standing) experience and is always bustling with locals, students, and salarymen. The traditional kishimen can be enjoyed in various ways, such as hot or cold with different seasonings like salt, soy sauce, miso, or curry.
Great stop for a quick bite. Step 1: Purchase a ticket from the machine. Step 2: Line up until you get a spot at the standing counter. Seven people can eat at any one time. Step 3: Give your ticket to the chef and be served very, very yummy noodles with soup and your chosen toppings. I had the beef with egg! It was excellent, and I even finished every last drop of the soup, despite the 35-degree Celsius day. P.S. Very good air conditioning in this small restaurant.

Before boarding the train to Tokyo, I grabbed a quick bowl of beef kishimen at a small standing noodle bar located on the Shinkansen platform at Nagoya Station. Ordering was straightforward: buy a meal ticket from the vending machine outside, queue briefly, and hand it to the staff once you enter. In just a couple of minutes, a steaming bowl of kishimen was served. The broth was rich and flavourful, and the noodles had a soft, chewy texture that paired beautifully with the tender beef and egg. Although the space was compact, each diner had a designated spot to eat. Just be aware that some travellers bring their luggage inside, which can make the area feel a bit cramped.

Takeout Restaurant
Tempura restaurant
Tenmusu Senju is a bite-sized rice ball filled with deep-fried shrimp tempura and wrapped in nori. Originating from Mie Prefecture, it has become a specialty dish of Nagoya. Slightly smaller than the standard onigiri, Tenmusu offers a delicious crunch with its single shrimp tempura filling. It has remained popular as a take-out item and can be enjoyed on its own or as part of a bento box while on the go in Nagoya.
I stopped by here because I heard it was so delicious. There were about three tables to sit and eat, and there were a ton of products prepared to take away. But, of course, eating the meal while sitting there was the most delicious. The rice was slightly cooled, chewy and deliciously prepared, and the fried shrimp were savory and sturdy. The seaweed was also delicious.

A hidden gem in Osu area! It's a rice ball stuffed with deep-fried prawn, half wrapped in seaweed sheet. Very delicious - rice is cooked well, taste is well balanced. When we went there it is take out only day. So we took one package (5 pieces) and find a quiet spot in Osi to devour them... wish we got more, haha. The place itself is very small, only two table 4 seats each.

The onigiri were delicious but I feel like I paid a lot for the packaging, when I really don’t care about packaging. This would probably be a very nice gift to bring someone, or for a picnic. The ladies inside the ship were very kind and sweet. I wish there was more onigiri glove because I think it’s only fish tempura. Even though it was delicious, it’s not my favourite either…

The restaurant looks suspicious on the outside but when you open the doors, it actually looks quite fascinating. They have 2nd and 3rd floors with quite a plenty of seats which surprised me. The seats were spacious as well. Orders would be made through a tablet, some dishes don’t have pictures on the menu so it might be difficult for people who can’t read the Japanese. Tebasaki dishes taste good though the waiting time was quite long. Other signature dishes such as 焼なすと魚大根きのこ煮 tasted good as well. The customer service is overall good, they quickly guided the guests to the empty seats instead of letting the customers wait unnecessarily.
Diep N — Google review
We had visited this restaurant before in our previous trip years ago and so we thought of coming back here. Somehow I think the restaurant had undergone some renovations and now it's more modern and trendy looking with automatic doors too! It was Saturday and there was a queue as it was dinner time. So we joined the queue and it took about 25 mins before it's our turn to enter and to our table. Unfortunately, the tables on the ground floor were all occupied and so we had to go up to the 3rd storey. Walking the narrow and winding stairs was a challenge, especially for those with weak legs. And we reached the 3rd floor, wow, it was an open dinning concept (Japanese style) where diners had to take off their shoes and sat on the cushion on the ground. There were no chairs. While it's good to experience the unique Japanese traditional dinning experience, it caught us unexpectedly as we had our elderly over 85 years walking up the stairs and sat cross legged. And they now have a computer tablet for you to place your orders. For non-Japanese, it was quite tedious as most were in native language and even the English translations were very brief and did not explain the type of dishes. We could not use it and so we asked the staff to take down our orders. Having said that, service was very slow. We waited for a long time for the staff to come, taking the orders and serving our foods (probably they had to bring up from the ground floor kitchen). And all our dishes came at varying timing and imagined we finished one dish and had to wait for a good 15-20mins for the next one to come! But must comment that the deep fried chicken and wings, tempura were really nice and yummy! Very tasty and crispy. The squids and stir fried mushrooms were yummy too. Really good and great to have the beer to go along with them. Price wise, they have gone up and our meal was about 6000yen. A little pricy over the quantity. It's a good experience for us to try this kind of dinning style but the service really needed to buck up!

Ramen restaurant
Restaurant
Manchinken is a well-known Chinese restaurant that has gained popularity for its exceptional ramen dishes. The 'Egg Drop Ramen' is particularly famous, featuring a rich soup made from Nagoya Cochin chicken bone and pork broth, topped with a delicious egg that melts into the soup, creating a delightful flavor. The restaurant has been in business for over 50 years and is always bustling with customers eager to savor their renowned ramen.
We happened to stay in an AirBnB right across the road. Didn't know this place existed. Started seeing people line up to got our attention. Wife said they have gyoza, wings, and ramen. We had to go. Then found out this place was famous for a certain type of ramen, tamago toji ramen. It's a chicken soup that's mixed with eggs, like egg drop soup, but oh so much better. The broth is rich with egg, the egg floating around, small strands and pieces everywhere, waiting to cling to the thin noodles as you slurp them up. The thin noodles are important, getting tangled in the soup, ensuring each bite has thick eggy soup along with the noodles. Side notes the gyoza were delicious as well, 8 small, bite size morsels of goodness. The wings were served burn your fingers hot, spiced with a Chinese 5 spice flavor. Wish I could return again and again.

Not another ramen. Thats what i thought when i was brought here. But when lots of customers appeared eventhough it was just opening time, i know i was wrong. It is unlike other ramen. The egg soup taste was strong. Noodle was thin and easy to eat and lots of meat compared to other much more expensive ramen. Ten sin han, an egg rice dish with thick sauce was so unreal. Gyoja was so so though. Overall i would recommend this restaurant if you are feeling for different and delicious ramen and rice egg

It is a long-established store that has been in business for 54 years since the first owner started the business. It is a very popular store that customers are always waiting. I finally had time to spare, so I wrote my name on the waiting board and got in line. I was finally able to eat the "Egg Toji (topped with egg) Ramen" that I have been offering since 1968. As advertised, it was excellent!!! Even in Fukuoka Hakata, I have never seen such thin noodles. The beaten egg was firmly entwined with the noodles. The compatibility with the soup is also wonderful, and I ate it all at once with draft beer. Fried rice, dumplings, and mapo tofu are also popular. I will definitely order it next time.

Ramen Rikimaru is a popular ramen spot in Nakamura Ward, Nagoya City known for its mildly spicy Taiwanese ramen and rich miso ramen. The restaurant offers counter and table seating, with a bustling atmosphere during peak hours. Despite its reputation for long lines, a mid-afternoon visit revealed a less crowded scene. I went to the restaurant for dinner since it's always crowded during lunchtime and I gave up on trying to get in. After 6 pm, I was able to get in without waiting, but it quickly became full with customers waiting! It's a popular restaurant. First, I ordered beer and grilled dumplings. This combination is unbeatable! Then I ordered the "most popular" miso ramen on the menu. There were various toppings available, but I chose to go with the standard. I added grated garlic and ichimi togarashi (a type of chili pepper) from the table condiments. It didn't have a special impact, but it had a stable deliciousness that is a "standard" taste. In addition to miso, the ramen menu is abundant with salt, soy sauce, curry, and Taiwan flavors. There were also many side dishes such as fried rice, dumplings, and fried chicken, as well as set menus. It's a restaurant I would love to visit again when I have time.

Although I didn't know I could order it on its own for 600¥ so I ordered it with the ramen as the main and Chahan as the side 😂 . It was shown on the back of the menu.. the miso ramen was just as good. The service was great and the staff were friendly. Provided with actual individual wrapped cold towel instead of the usual packet wet wipes. I am going back there before I leave to order Chahan as the main 😂.

If I could give more stars just for atmosphere, I would. Food was delicious, and I definitely underestimated just how many toppings "all" would be! The spicy miso ramen is so full of flavour it would kill a Victorian child, which was amazing. The noodles are a bit on the thicker side, and nice and chewy! Everything had this "home cooked" kind of feel. The highlight for me though, apart from the great food and staff, was the atmosphere. The chef was loudly calling out to customers, the staff clearly liked working there, it made me feel nice and warm inside. That, and the spicy ramen.

Me and my partner walked around nagoya looking for some quality ramen. We got lost and found this place, only to find out its 100 metres from our hotel. The staff were terrific and have an English menu on request but even then the original menu can be translated via Google translate. The ramen tastes authentic and is cheap. The fried chicken is 5 big pieces and is juicy and packed of flavour. Around 2000 per person. Sharing two beers, fried chicken and dumplings with a bowl of ramen with all the toppings each. My partner did complain that the ramen was abit salty to her but I loved it! We sat at the bar for the entire meal and had no issues! Lovely staff that were willing to accommodate english speakers! Would happily come back and recommend.

Thankful that this is just beside the hotel I stayed in Nagoya and that they close late. Had 3 meals in different days and were great. Most diners were locals. My favorite is their egg fried rice paired with their karage. Their ramen and dumplings were also good.

It was a decent bowl of ramen but I've definitely had better. That being said it's still worth going and it was very cheap to eat there! I'm not into ichiran ramen but I'd say it's almost as good as ichiran.

Ramenya Shiosoba Shizuku is a small eatery offering delectable bowls of ramen in a minimalist setting. The quality and taste of their dishes are so remarkable that one may even question the affordability. The broth, noodles, and char siu are all exceptional. The soup boasts a clean flavor profile, devoid of any coarse undertones.
Nice soba place with great taste. The soup had a light taste, but the meat toppings were really good. The chicken slices were smoked and went well with the light soup and noodles. The mazesoba is also easily one of the best. There is a free up size option, and the meat is really good (I think it's cured). And the noodles really match the vinegar sauce.

(Translated by Google) I visited for lunch on a Saturday. There was a bit of a queue, but the food was served smoothly. It was mostly counter seating and there weren't many seats, but the turnover was fast. The noodles were medium-thick and had a nice texture, and the soup was delicious, but not indescribable. I had the Shio Ramen, which seemed to be their top recommendation. The soup was light, but not simple, with a rich umami flavor. If I lived nearby, it's a dish I'd want to eat regularly. Next time I'd like to try the Niboshi Chuka (dried sardine Chinese noodles). The queue (about 15-20 people) forms 30 minutes in advance, so we arrived an hour early to line up. When it comes to salt (shio) in Aichi Prefecture, this is the place to go. I've eaten at many ramen places, but so far I've never eaten at a more delicious place. The seafood-flavored soup is neither light nor heavy, and the flavor lingers in your mouth. It's an extremely well-made soup with a delicious broth that's not at all salty. The noodles are not thin like most salt ramen, but of normal thickness, but because the soup isn't too light, they cling to the noodles well. The pork slices were also very tasty and went well with rice. I usually don't finish the soup, but this one was so delicious that I did. A shio ramen connoisseur recommended it to me, and I'm so glad I did! When the bowl arrived, I was immediately captivated by its artistic appearance, lol. The clear, beautiful seafood-infused soup was completely free of impurities, delicate and light, yet flavorful with a strong dashi broth, creating an exquisite balance with the flat noodles. The bamboo shoots, soaked in the shio soup broth, were so delicious I wanted to add more. Asadaya is a charming restaurant known for its delicious and interesting Katsudon and chewy Udon. The cutlet curry Udon and miso cutlet set meal are highly recommended for their generous portions and flavorful taste. The warm udon noodles in the katsudon set are also a popular choice. Additionally, the shop offers hot and cold kishimen, both of which are described as chewy and delicious.

(Translated by Google) I stopped by when I was on a trip to Nagoya. The first restaurant I looked at was full, so I found it while looking for a restaurant and went in. In order to try Nagoya's specialty, I ordered the miso cutlet set meal. Both the cutlet and miso soup were large and filled me up. The cutlet was soft and topped with plenty of Nagoya's specialty miso. The family I ate with ordered kishimen, which was also chewy and delicious. The food was delivered within a short time after ordering. I ordered a bottle of beer to go with it, and the service was attentive, including serving it in an insulated can. Takeout is possible. "Chicken wings" 90 yen per piece I bought 5 pieces each of sauce and salt. There were 2 boxes. Unlike the previous restaurant I ate at, it didn't have any seasoning, and if you want salt, add spices. For the sauce, do it yourself: add the sauce and add sesame seeds. However, I think this is reasonable because you can adjust the amount. I thought it was cheap and a good deal at 90 yen.
