Sekai no Yamachan Honten, established in the heart of Nagoya in 1981 as a humble food stall, is credited with popularizing Tebasaki, or fried chicken wings, in the region. Over the years, it has expanded into a chain of specialized eateries across Japan. The restaurant offers a variety of Tebasaki flavors such as signature pepper-coated wings and those glazed with sweet black sauce.

The original shop in Nagoya is a must-try for food lovers, and the fun part is the eating style: hold the wing, twist to loosen the bones, and enjoy it all in one bite for the full flavor explosion 🤤🔥. APRIL 2023 Came here for late night snack and wait time was not that long. Tried the signature pepper coated fried chicken wings and it was salty and tasty, but I think I prefer the wings with the sweet black sauce glaze which was more meaty and juicy. Food and service was good.
Barry — Google review
Food is ok here but i don't find anything special about the signature chicken wings. Other dishes is good but i have had better. Long queue before we get the table but the service was ok even the restaurant is full.
Pun O — Google review
A well-known Nagoya fried chicken restaurant. Of course, the signature menu is fried chicken which the taste is unique but not that outstanding. Beside this menu, there are many other menu. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is quite tough and full with annoying fog. The price is okay but it would be more convincing if cheaper.
Prasittichai K — Google review
The very famous Nagoya Yamachan no chicken wings. The place has a very lively atmosphere. Service is good. Chicken wings quite tasty, crispy but slightly more salty. The spicy version was extremely salty somehow.
Chandrika — Google review
黒手羽先 is really delicious. 縞ホッケis a kind of roast fish, but the fish smell is quite strong. The restaurant give out free face masks with chicken wing pattens on it, really cute.
S K — Google review
Chicken wings...omg...so good !!! Overall it is a good place to eat, not too pricy, large choice of food with many local speciality. -1 star because we found chicken bones on the floor under the table.
Guillaume B — Google review
The price is fair. However, the veggie is not fresh at all. The chick rings are not salty if you choose pepper flavor.

Taiwanese restaurant
Misen is a renowned restaurant in Nagoya, known for its delectable Chinese cuisine. One of their popular dishes is the Misen noodle, which was recommended by hotel staff and praised for its deliciousness. The restaurant's Ra-ja-men, a soupless ramen dish, is also highly regarded for its tastiness despite being a bit spicy.
We are really excited to try out famous Misen noodle in Nagoya. This was highly recommended by our hotel staff and it was very delicious. Make sure to ask restaurant staff to reduce spice level if you don’t like spicy food. The soup and minced beef is quite spicy!
Yang Y — Google review
This restaurant is very famous in Nagoya. I had Ra-ja-men (it is a ramen without soup). It was very tasty. It was a bit spicy but I recommend to eat if you visit in Nagoya.
Naoooz — Google review
Staff, especially the young foreign girl staff member was lazy and inattentive. Food was below average. The wait was long because no one bothered to check so you had one person sitting at a table for four, and six different people having to share a large table. Just awful.

They are SOOOOO SLOOWWWWW, if you go and there is a line be sure you brought a book or a movie to watch. The food is good though

I was told Taiwan Ramen was a Nagoya specialty, so decided to give it a try. I arrived around 6:30pm for dinner and was third in line, so the wait was about 10-15 minutes. They clean up tables very quickly and get the next person in line seated fast. I ordered a Taiwan ramen with egg and a gyoza. The ramen portion was small, so adding a side was definitely worth it. It’s also properly spicy, not like most Japanese versions of other spicy food. Overall it tasted like mapo tofu ramen without any tofu, which is a little disappointing as I love tofu but it was still a very tasty bowl in the end.

Takeout Restaurant

Munagi Hitsumabushi is a casual dining spot in downtown Sakae, Nagoya, known for its variety of eel dishes and drinks like sake, beer, and cocktails. It's a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The signature dish, hitsumabushi, features crispy eel with a crunchy texture and juicy flavor complemented by a refreshing slightly sweet sauce. Adding freshly ground Japanese pepper enhances the aroma.
I have always wanted to try Nagoya's hitsumabushi. I got the medium size which had 1.5x the normal serving. It is interesting how the eel was fresh and tasty and how the taste can change depending on how you prefer to eat it (alone, with soup, with various toppings). This place was packed with locals the night we visited. If you can splurge a bit, then this is a must try!
Nicki C — Google review
I am not typically an eel fan, but this highly-recommended Nagoya restaurant won me over. Seating was easy, and I appreciated that menu prices were consistent for both locals and foreigners. The interior is beautifully designed with a predominantly wooden decor, creating a cozy atmosphere. I opted for the eel set meal, which pleasantly surprised me with its crispy texture and sweet, smoky sauce—no sliminess at all! While it's on the pricier side, it's definitely worth trying, especially if you're visiting Nagoya for the first time and want to experience one of the city's specialties.
Telle M — Google review
Nagoya is famous for its grilled eel and Munagi Hitsumabushi certainly lives up to that. This restaurant serves the best unagi I have tried. We tried both the hitsumabushi (a Nagoya specialty using special sauce) and the kouhaku-ju (salted). The eels were both crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Paired with rice, it was a perfect match. If you could only select one, I would go with the hitsumabushi. Freshly grated wasabi was also served with our dish. The restaurant is comfortable despite its small size. Tables are adequately spaced and the staff were friendly. English menu was available which made ordering a breeze. We would come back here again in our future visits to Nagoya.
Eu N — Google review
This was recommended to us by our hotel. As a big fan of unagi, I knew I had to try hitsumabushi whilst in Nagoya. The restaurant was cozy, clean, and had a variety of eel-based dishes to try. I got the hitsumabushi set and my mom opted for a lighter rice bowl. Both were EXCELLENT. The eel was fresh, with a beautiful char from the grill making the skin crispy. The broth served with my meal was delicious, even on its own. Portions are generous. You order via a tablet on the table and we couldn't find a way to change language to English. We used a translation app to help sort us out. We also didnt have a reservation but we did walk in at an odd time (5pm) so we were seated immediately without a wait.
케이지KageyCreates — Google review
came here on a weekday evening and were seated immediately. the inside has a lovely modern ambiance and i’m grateful that they close later than many other restaurants. we ordered the regular hitsumbashi set menu. we were given wasabi to grate ourselves which was a really nice touch — it tastes different than pre-prepared wasabi. the eel was grilled to a perfect crispness and the rice was fluffy and well-seasoned. the puffed rice was a highlight topping, and we ate the hitsumbashi the way recommended, in the 4 steps. broth was flavorful. this was one of our favorite meals from our entire trip, would highly recommend!
Grace Z — Google review
This is the best grilled fresh water eel / unagi / Hitsumabushi I have ever had hands down. Chef Morioka grilled the unagi to a beautiful crispy perfection. I can eat this all day everyday if I wasn’t full. I went for the half / half and my wife went for the unagi and boy it was so delicious, being able to grate my own wasabi was a lovely DIY touch. Fresh wasabi tastes so different from the commercial ones combined with horse radish. Highly recommend, and if I ever come back to Nagoya I would be eating it again for sure. As background, Nagoya is the Japan's largest producer of fresh water eel (unagi), which are typically grilled, slathered in a rich, dark sauce, and served over rice. Nagoya's take on the dish, known as hitsumabushi, is served in a traditional wooden bowl accompanied by a rice bowl, a plate of condiments and a pot of broth. One eats hitsumabushi by splitting the serving of eel into four portions. For the first portion, scoop the eel into the rice bowl and eat it straight in order to savor the flavor of the eel. The second portion, eat with condiments added. The third portion, season to taste as before, but this time, add broth to create a type of chazuke. The final portion can be eaten as you like.
Eug. N — Google review
Be prepared for a 2 hours wait. Restaurant is known for their unagi! Crispy, but the best we had eaten. We chose the lowest grade unagi and it still tasted just fine. 👍🏼 service crews explained to us in English how to order and how should we eat the unagi. I do enjoy the final step of enjoy the Hitsumabushi… put the condiments and seaweed in, then pour the broth over. Mix it and eat. Yummy. Oh, u gonna ask the service crew for the broth too. Giving 5 stars because most of the service crews were so good and helpful. But it’s just a little too crazy too be queuing 2 hours for it! You probably can consider the takeaway sets.

Izakaya restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Furaibo is a well-known restaurant in Nagoya that specializes in tebasaki, or chicken wings. The city is famous for its tebasaki, which are seasoned with a salty-sweet flavor and deep-fried to a crispy finish without batter. Furaibo offers this popular dish, which pairs perfectly with beer. The restaurant is packed with locals and visitors who come to enjoy their unique chicken wings.
Personally I prefer chicken wings here to Yamachan! All dishes we ordered was great.
Hgaff L — Google review
Food is just ok…the best thing I have is the steamed potato…the chicken win in ok..the fried chicken is far than average. The worst thing is that they served the cold dish but didn’t inform us we will be charged. Even though it is not expensive but it should not be the way they charge and serve.
Gina W — Google review
The restaurant looks suspicious on the outside but when you open the doors, it actually looks quite fascinating. They have 2nd and 3rd floors with quite a plenty of seats which surprised me. The seats were spacious as well. Orders would be made through a tablet, some dishes don’t have pictures on the menu so it might be difficult for people who can’t read the Japanese. Tebasaki dishes taste good though the waiting time was quite long. Other signature dishes such as 焼なすと魚大根きのこ煮 tasted good as well. The customer service is overall good, they quickly guided the guests to the empty seats instead of letting the customers wait unnecessarily.
Diep N — Google review
We had visited this restaurant before in our previous trip years ago and so we thought of coming back here. Somehow I think the restaurant had undergone some renovations and now it's more modern and trendy looking with automatic doors too! It was Saturday and there was a queue as it was dinner time. So we joined the queue and it took about 25 mins before it's our turn to enter and to our table. Unfortunately, the tables on the ground floor were all occupied and so we had to go up to the 3rd storey. Walking the narrow and winding stairs was a challenge, especially for those with weak legs. And we reached the 3rd floor, wow, it was an open dinning concept (Japanese style) where diners had to take off their shoes and sat on the cushion on the ground. There were no chairs. While it's good to experience the unique Japanese traditional dinning experience, it caught us unexpectedly as we had our elderly over 85 years walking up the stairs and sat cross legged. And they now have a computer tablet for you to place your orders. For non-Japanese, it was quite tedious as most were in native language and even the English translations were very brief and did not explain the type of dishes. We could not use it and so we asked the staff to take down our orders. Having said that, service was very slow. We waited for a long time for the staff to come, taking the orders and serving our foods (probably they had to bring up from the ground floor kitchen). And all our dishes came at varying timing and imagined we finished one dish and had to wait for a good 15-20mins for the next one to come! But must comment that the deep fried chicken and wings, tempura were really nice and yummy! Very tasty and crispy. The squids and stir fried mushrooms were yummy too. Really good and great to have the beer to go along with them. Price wise, they have gone up and our meal was about 6000yen. A little pricy over the quantity. It's a good experience for us to try this kind of dinning style but the service really needed to buck up!
Ed C — Google review
Affordable fried chicken sticks. Other food options on the menu were also reasonably priced and come with good taste.

Interesting Nagoya famous chicken wing restaurant. Perfect for meal and bear with family or friends.
Hklazzycat L — Google review
As tebasaki (chicken wings) is synonymous to nagoya just like takoyaki is to osaka, would recommend here for their children wings. It's not like any chicken wings you've tried. Place is packed to brim.

The World Beer Museum offers an awesome experience with its unlimited drink and eat option for a reasonable price. For around 3000, visitors can enjoy a wide collection of beers on tap, making it worth the cost.
My experience here was awesome. They have an unlimited drink and eat option available for just about 3000¥ . It's worth the price with the collection of various beers they have on the tap.

Stopped by since I was at Nagoya station. The flight set wasn’t bad and a good way to start your prepare for some drinking. The food was OK and the service was friendly. Wouldn’t go out of my way to go again but if in the area it is a nice lunch spot.
Bill G — Google review
Way expensive - we had a relatively simple meal for 3 and it cost me over 12600 yen - about twice what I'd like to pay for the relative enjoyment factor - fairly noisy/raucous, I was told the 5 small beer tasting flight was all German beers, but none rang my bells - HofBrau not being my favourite German brewery. They even charged for the popcorn they brought to our table without asking - so the Spanish model of rip-off - they put down the small plates, and if you eat it thinking it was included/free, you pay !?
Ultimobile — Google review
We did not have a reservation for dinner time, but we were able to get in. Pleasure However, it seemed that all the other guests had reservations except us. The location was good, but the price was in proportion.
Masahiro Y — Google review
Food was good. The guy that seated us was rude. There are “no” napkins to clean yourself but there is one on the bread 🤔🤔
Sally O — Google review
I was exited about the idea of trying plenty of good beers and may be learn something... But it is more a family restaurant type of establishment with all the generic beers you can find from overseas. Very disappointed, and the price is costly for the beers and foods served. I am disappointed, but the staff was kind, so I don’t put a 1 star here. Still I will not recommend this place. Food is not impressive by the way...
Mister H — Google review
Good place with a great selection of draft beers and hundreds of international bottles. It is not the cheapest option, but it worth it for the options. Sometimes the staff are not very patient or reasonable. It requires reservation on busy days. They limit the maximum stay time some days. Independently of the condonation.

Asian restaurant
The chicken and rice dish at Rice People, Nice People! Nagoya was enjoyable enough to evoke nostalgia, as it had been years since the last time chicken and rice were tasted. The herbal pork sausage provided an exceptional culinary experience, while the attentive waitress served with a cheerful demeanor. Overall, it proved to be a positive dining experience. The food itself was commendable and surpassed the Asian cuisine available on the 12th floor of another establishment. Additionally, this restaurant offered affordability without compromising on taste.
The food is not authentic Thai but it was good. My wife and I we enjoyed our meal: Pad Thai, fried shrimp and fried rice. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Ansari M — Google review
Pretty decent asian food but mostly Thai's. Khao man gai is pretty good and I like the tomyum soup, but there are many places with better Tomyum soup imo. Gave a 3 stars for the food because while the foods are pretty decent, the price is higher than what you get for the taste and portions.
Hardysan — Google review
Cute Asian fusion restaurant. Got a set meal of pickled vermicelli, spring roll and rice paper roll, hainanese chicken rice and Tom yum noodle soup. Dessert was mango yoghurt. The food wasn’t authentic but it was delicious and I liked it.
T T — Google review
I tried their pad thai and spring rolls. They didn’t have the tasty Southeast Asian flavors. The pad thai was too egg-y, not enough peanuts for adequate crunch and also not enough tamarind and fish sauce flavor in the sauce. Moreover, spring rolls are all about the filling and the sauce. These rolls were just fried rolled wrappers. The ambience was nice though. Service was fast as well. I would love to give their set meals a chance next time I visit.
Sarah R — Google review
To start... I will never return. If you are wanting Thai food... this is NOT the place! I repeat... do NOT eat here if you want Thai food. This isn't even good Japanese food. Think of this as a McDonald's equivalent of Thai something. I ordered Gapao. See the photo, but I have no idea what I was served. No traditional Thai flavors or spiciness. Rice is not Thai style. They don't even have spicy fish oil available. I imagine the waitresses are temp-hires. Ridiculous amounts of rules to follow to enter. I was told not to talk loudly if I don't wear a mask. Is talking loudly while eating a meal a thing? Even the name is low-key racist.
Connard ジ — Google review
Decent place to get hybrid of foreign and local dishes. The coconut soup tastes weird to me though

Food is awesome! I didn't like the interiors or the feel of the place. But definitely the food covers it all. Much better than the Asian cuisine on 12th floor.

Chicken restaurant
Torigin in Higashishincho, Nagoya offers a delightful experience of pure Nagoya Cochin cuisine. The shop is known for its lemon sour toast and abundant green onions that add a delicious flavor to the dishes. Visitors can savor various preparations of Nagoya Cochin, including yakitori, skewers, miso hotpot, and kamameshi. The warm welcome and helpful staff enhance the dining experience.
As soon as we entered, we was greeted with a very vibrant "Irasshaimase," and just the volume and tone made us feel like we had chosen the right place. When ordering, they went out of their way to help us understand the features of the dishes. Every dish we ordered reflected the chef's dedication, especially the kamameshi, which my picky kid ate three bowls of! The teppan chicken dish, loaded with green onions, also pleasantly surprised us, and even the side dishes that came with the meal were a feast for the taste buds. Not only does the restaurant offer high-quality, attentive service, but it also showcases the chef's confident craftsmanship, condensed the Japanese spirit into this small establishment. If you are in Nagoya, it is definitely worth a visit!

I think the staff's response is very pleasant and wonderful, but if you evaluate the taste strictly, it's not at an outstanding level. Salad Bowl Meieki is a charming salad shop nestled in a bustling area of Nagoya. This eatery follows the popular chop salad style, offering light and fiber-rich options for those exploring Japan. The salads are simply the best, featuring fresh ingredients and an extensive selection to choose from. The staff is welcoming and accommodating, ensuring a delightful dining experience. These delectable salads are both delicious and satisfying, striking the perfect balance between protein and fiber.
Wow! Just wow taste. If you are nearby and wanted to try some freshly prepared salad in front of you, do visit it. We ordered custom made salad and that tasted perfectly and tasty too. Definitely worth the money you spent here.

It was my first experience at a salad specialty store. What kind of salad is "chop salad"? I visited in curiosity. After entering the restaurant and passing between the seats, you first order while listening to the explanation of the menu at the end of the kitchen counter in the back. The salad will be cooked between your eyes as it is, and you will be seated after paying for it as soon as you receive it. Since it was my first time, I ordered chicken Caesar with orthodox dressing and toppings. I was surprised that you can even specify the size of the vegetables to chop. All the vegetables were evenly chopped, so I could easily eat them with a spoon and it was delicious. For the drink chose homemade lemonade. It was delicious with a strong acidity that permeated the body. It is a very beautiful restaurant, the customer service is pleasant, and it is highly recommended when you want a healthy meal.

Great tasting salad with a good variety of greens that are hard to find all in one place in Japan. My salad (Mack Daddy) was flavorful and well portioned between the protein, grains and greens (something I don’t think can be said for modern NYC salads). I had my salad chopped to a “medium” but it was chopped more on the “small” side. As a New York native I think this experience hews closer to how the NYC salad scene was roughly 10 years ago (a lot of New York establishments now chop the ingredients ahead of time instead of at the time of your order in the name of efficiency). Highly recommended.

Hitsumabushi Bincho Dainagoyabirujinguten is a must-try dish in Nagoya, known for its take on grilled unagi served over rice. The dish is traditionally presented in a wooden bowl with accompanying condiments and broth. It's recommended to split the eel into four portions when eating. This restaurant is popular among locals and tourists alike, offering delicious food, comfortable atmosphere, and excellent service.
Came here alone to enjoy an early dinner here. There is a queue ticket system and patrons are invited to wait nearby. Service was excellent despite the language barrier. They served the meal with an instruction placard in different languages to ensure an optimal dining experience. The eel was grilled to perfection with a nice tinge of charcoal smoky taste at the edges. The sauce was sweet, flavorful and not too salty. Loved the wine-pickled radish that came with the eel rice. The ambience was comfortable and quiet with a view and the wait staff was attentive. The price was also reasonable. Definitely worth coming again.

I visited the restaurant during lunchtime with a reservation with pocket concierge, which made the whole meal process easier. The unagi set meal (hana) was very good value and good quality. Eel Bones (see picture) was a little intimidating but turned out crispy and good. Highlights of the meal were grilled liver and hitsumabushi. The staff were friendly and welcoming, would visit again.

THE. BEST. UNAGI. EVER!! I always thought unagi was flaky and they usually have this freshwater fish smell. But not here. The unagi was grilled so perfectly that it had crunchy texture but still fatty and soft! The fried unagi bone was also fun to eat. This place is popular, so plan well. We came early so we didn't have to wait that long, but the queue piled up quickly. But even if you have to wait, you wouldn't regret it at all. The price IS a bit high, but trust me it's worth it.

Made a reservation through google maps and was able to eat without waiting:) I ordered Hitsumabushi and tried it first, just the fish. It was tasty but nothing really special. But the moment I followed the steps the restaurant recommended, it was eye boggling! Especially pouring the warm soup and eating rice and fish together was the best combination 😋

This compact restaurant offers an authentic experience of Hitsumabushi, a beloved local dish featuring grilled eel drizzled with a sweet sauce and served over fluffy white rice. At Shibafukuya, they take pride in sourcing the finest blue eel for their meals.
You’ve got two layers of dry charcoaled grilled eel on rice! The sauce is not too sweet, and you get to choose the quality of rice to eat with the eel. Perfect!! Best eel rice experience so far in Japan.

Eel restuarant located in the older part of downtown, located on a small side street. We walked to the restuarant from the nearest metro. Took about 10 to 15 mins. We made a reservation for a table a couple of weeks before. However we were given seating around the bar on ground floor, and not a table. Relatively small restuarant. I think they have upstairs seating. We ordered 2 eel sets. One white eel and one brown eel. Tried ordering the premium eel, but they were sold out. Very big portion. Extremely full after eating. Had a beer. Around JPY10k for the 2 of us. Spent around 1 hour here. Good quality eel

If you’re a fan of unagi, this place is a must-visit. From the moment the first bite melts in your mouth, you’ll understand why so many rave about it. The unagi is perfectly grilled—crispy on the outside, buttery soft on the inside, and glazed with a rich, savory-sweet tare sauce that lingers just right. Portions are generous, the rice is fluffy and fragrant, and the balance of flavors is spot-on. You can really taste the quality and care in every dish. I’d honestly travel again just for this—it’s that good. Service was attentive and warm, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Unagi restaurant
Unagi Unawa Izumi is a renowned eel restaurant located in Higashi Ward, Nagoya. The establishment offers a delectable eel rice bowl that has left many patrons satisfied with its crispy and delicious flavors. Despite being slightly pricey, the guaranteed taste and excellent service make it worth the visit. The menu at Unagi Unawa Izumi differs from its Tsurumai branch, offering unique dishes such as the charcoal-grilled and fragrant eel bowl with liver.
Very strong reputation: authentic eel dishes, well-grilled, often with a slightly crispy skin, yet tender inside. Unique menu items: e.g., charcoal-grilled eel bowls, with liver; combining traditional style hitsumabushi (eat it in stages) and unajū / unadon offerings. Atmosphere: the setting is traditional, warm, service generally praised. Good “value for taste” despite not being the cheapest. Pros: * Probably stronger traditional technique and flavor profile (especially grilled / charcoal methods) vs some places that might lean more towards “sauteed / more sauced” versions. * Menu diversity with premium offerings (like liver, different cuts) adds depth: gives more “eel experience” rather than just “eel rice bowl.” * Atmosphere and presentation are usually more polished at Unawa Izumi, giving more “special” dining feel. Cons: * Price / cost-effectiveness: Some of the places might offer a more forgiving price for what you get, possibly making them better for “everyday eel craving” rather than special occasion. * Accessibility / wait times: Because Unawa Izumi is more premium, you might face longer waits, less flexibility, possibly less seating, especially during busy times. * Variety of side/amenities: Some unagi restaurants may offer more sides, more “combo” options or “extra” items (tempura, sashimi) whereas Unawa might focus more tightly on eel dishes. Afterthoughts: * If you’re after eel quality and authentic grilled flavor, and don’t mind paying more, Unawa Izumi is likely among the best. * If cost, speed, lighter flavor, variable menu side-dishes matter more (e.g., you want more than just eel rice, or want a quick bite), some of the other unagi places may give better value. * Taste preferences matter: if you don’t like too much sauce, or you dislike bones, then check reviews carefully (some eel restaurants are better about boning out the eel; others less so).

The taste was good, but the unagi didn't seem to have as much meat as expected. This one was quite crispy with not much substance. Not sure if I just ate a really good unagi before near My. Fuji. Each person is also required to order a whole eel dish, which makes it so we can't try many different things.

It's a flavor I personally love. ●Golden Chicken Wings, Silver Chicken Wings The gold ones are seasoned with a spice called Ajime Kosho, a chili pepper from Nakatsugawa. The chili peppers brought out the umami of the meat, making the chicken wings super juicy. The silver ones are flavored with garlic soy sauce, giving them a nice garlic aroma that made the Kinshachi beer even more delicious. ●Legal Liver Sashimi Today's recommendation! While the name may seem a little shady at first glance, it's actually a mushroom similar to liver sashimi. It looks almost exactly like raw liver, and when you eat it, it has the same firm texture and rich flavor as raw liver. It's delicious when served with sesame oil. ●Dote Miso Taiwanese Motsunabe It's made in the kitchen in advance and finished at your seat, so you can enjoy it right away. The rich red miso is infused with the spicy Taiwanese flavor, a perfect match with the soft, jiggly offal. The ramen we had at the end was also delicious, with a soup made from the fat of the offal. The waiters were always smiling and the service was quick, making for a fun party. Thank you for the meal!

(Translated by Google) I visited a Nagoya-style izakaya with a friend. It's rumored to be more well-known among people from other prefectures than the locals. Apparently, K-pop idols and other celebrities often visit here secretly. The proof is in the photos hanging on the walls, which were impressive! So, apparently, fans visit for the chance to meet them and enjoy Nagoya cuisine... Unfortunately, there weren't any celebrities there today, but it was still incredibly busy! ●Golden Chicken Wings ●Silver Chicken Wings ●Legal Liver Sashimi ●Dote Miso Taiwanese Motsunabe ●Shime Ramen ◯Draft Beer ◯Kinshachi Beer The Golden and Silver Chicken Wings are reminiscent of the centenarians Kin-san and Gin-san. The Golden Chicken Wings are made with Nakatsugawa Ajime pepper, while the Silver Chicken Wings are made with garlic and salt sauce. Both are juicy and delicious! The Legal Liver Sashimi has an interesting name. While raw liver sashimi is prohibited, it's apparently a wild-caught mushroom called amitake, which has a similar texture. It's definitely legal! When served with sesame oil, it tastes just like liver sashimi, which is surprising! They also have Kinshachi Beer, brewed by an Inuyama craft beer company. If you're looking for a Nagoya specialty, I highly recommend it! Dote Miso Taiwan Motsunabe is a cross between dote miso motsunabe, Taiwanese minced meat, and other Nagoya specialties. Made with rich Hatcho miso, it has a rich flavor with a hint of spiciness that's addictive. Finish with ramen and you'll be totally full! Takeout Restaurant
Chicken restaurant
During my recent stay at the Kyoto Century Hotel, I had the chance to indulge in some delicious take-out from Yamachan, a renowned spot known for its delectable Teha-sen chicken wings. This particular branch is designed solely for grab-and-go orders, making it perfect for those on the move. While you won't get that freshly cooked experience here, the convenience of having your meal boxed up and ready to enjoy is a definite plus.
(Translated by Google) I bought chicken wings. It was cold so I reheated it in the oven. The chicken wings are more Yamachan than Furaibo. (Original) 手羽先買いました。冷えていたのでオーブンで温め直して頂きました。手羽先は風来坊よりも山ちゃん派です。

(Translated by Google) The same can be said for a certain chain store that is equally popular, but the taste of the chicken wings is not much different from other stores, so I think it's a good store to buy in a hurry. It's close to Meitetsu Bus Terminal, so it's perfect for buying souvenirs♪ There is also a Furaibo take-out specialty store inside the Meitetsu Department Store, so we recommend buying both kinds of chicken wings as souvenirs and comparing them! Personally, I think Furaibo is better because it has a deeper flavor. Also, there was a limited time offer called ``Yama-chan Potato'', so if you order it, it will be served freshly fried on the spot, so it's definitely better to eat it as soon as possible♪ (Original)

(Translated by Google) One of Nagoya's famous delicacies, this branch is only for take-out and not for dine-in use. The only products sold are the signature Teha-sen. Because the products have been boxed, they are not cooked to order. The advantage is that you can grab it and go when you are in a hurry, but it lacks the warm taste of freshly made food. It’s also good to eat cold. Compared with another famous restaurant, Feng Laifang, Sekai Xiaoshan’s is more heavily seasoned and has a strong pepper aroma. Those who love pepper flavor will probably find it quite tasty, and it’s perfect to enjoy with sparkling drinks.

On my first day in Nagoya, I stumbled upon the renowned Izakaya Toriya Nagoya・Joshin while searching for my hotel. Nestled conveniently behind it, this cozy spot beckoned with its quirky bird-suit mascot that seemed to be enjoying a drink of its own! With the chilly winter winds swirling outside, I knew it was the perfect place for a warm nightcap.
One of the best meals I've ever had in Japan in 6 years of living and 30 years of traveling extensively here. Amazing flavors, perfect atmosphere, and the kind of friendly welcome that feels straight from the heart. I can honestly say that I will visit Nagoya again just to eat here again.

This eatery is "keichan" speciality. Friendly atmosphere Cheap and tasty. Not as authentic as the ones you can eat around Gero but still a very place to enjoy Keichan. Keichan is a rustic dish of chicken cooked with garlic and cabbage on steel plate. The dish is originally from Gifu ken, Gero onsen speciality.

There don't seem to be any other specialty stores in Nagoya. The store staff is very friendly and there is no problem even if it is your first time. The taste was very delicious and had that taste. As it is claimed to be a secret flavor, it is a taste that you will get addicted to. The price is also good value, so I would like to buy it again.
