Youth hostel
Hostel Uppelink is a cozy family-owned hostel situated in the heart of Ghent, offering simple dorms and rooms with picturesque river views. Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi access, and the option to join free walking tours in English and Spanish. The hostel provides amenities such as free city maps, a common area with a stunning view, guest kitchen facilities, and laundry services.
Amazing Stay at Upperlink Hostel in Ghent! I had an incredible experience at Upperlink Hostel in Ghent. From start to finish, everything was perfect. The cleanliness of the hostel was exceptional, with every corner spotless and well-maintained. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, always going the extra mile to make sure guests were comfortable and happy. What really stood out to me were the thoughtful details throughout the hostel. From the cozy atmosphere to the well-designed spaces, it felt like a home away from home. The common areas were inviting, perfect for meeting other travelers or simply relaxing after a day of exploring the city. The location was also ideal, situated in a peaceful yet central part of Ghent, making it easy to access major attractions, shops, and restaurants. The rooms were comfortable and offered plenty of privacy, with cozy beds and ample space for personal belongings. The hostel also had great facilities, including a fully equipped kitchen, free Wi-Fi, and a lovely outdoor terrace to enjoy the fresh air. Overall, my stay at Upperlink Hostel was an unforgettable experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ghent. Whether you're a solo traveler or with friends, this hostel offers everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

Best hostel I’ve ever been to, the building is just amazing, is next to the most important bridge in the central area of Ghent, the views form the room are just amazing, it also has a kitchen and the bathroom has like around 12 showers so you’ll always find one. It also offers breakfast, drinks and coffee, at night it gets super cozy and you can’t just stop enjoying the views.

Location is amazing! People are sweet! Bathrooms and toilet are hygiene! If you are looking for hostel, go for it. Small locker is available within the room where you can store your valuables, but you have to bring your own padlock! They have big lockers at the entrance, if you want to check out and store your luggage for the day! 0.5€ per hour. There is a free city tour which starts just outside of the building at 10:30am which was a good one to know a bit about the history of ghent. Towels are chargeable, 3€! Breakfast options are just cornflakes, breads with spreads, coffee from the machine, 7.5€!
Balaji B — Google review
Wonderful location and architecture, authentic interior as well, central, fantastic view at the old town, nice dorms and bathrooms, good vibes, great staff and housekeeping! And one of the best kitchens I found in a hostel so far! The only small downside: They charge a little for luggage storage (in lockers)
Oscar T — Google review
Great service and great location! Highly recommended! The girl who was attending the breakfast in the morning, was so nice with us cooking for us extra eggs. Thank you for that! That kind of service talks about the great culture they have!
Miguel V — Google review
Fair price and great location to the city centre. Stayed there in Nov, not many tourists which is good. The common area is clean. The dorm is bigger than i expected, have enough room to unpack your luggage and store personal stuff.
Yu H — Google review
One of the best hostels I've stayed at. Well organized and thought out layout of amenities, plenty of bathrooms/showers, and the gender-neutral approach was a nice touch!

I've never seen any sullen face. The staff is excellent, always ready to help. Always clean, including the restrooms. The owner is very lucky to have such a wonderful team.

Welcome to KABA Hostel, a vibrant and funky accommodation located in the heart of Ghent. Run by experienced travelers Bart and Katrijn, this hostel offers simple dorms and private rooms with lockers and shared or private bathrooms. Guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast buffet and make use of the fully stocked kitchen facilities including an oven, microwave, and coffee machine. The hostel features beautiful paintings and drawings creating a cozy atmosphere for guests to relax in.
Very nice hostel near the heart of the city. The room was cosy and tidy, the receptionists were both incredibly kind and the hostel in general was lovely. Toilet and shower were clean and enough for one night stay. Only minor criticism: I would suggest the management to be more clear with the guests that talking very loudly at the phone in the corridor early morning it’s forbidden. I would recommend.
D. P — Google review
I visited Ghent for the first time with a friend from Bosnia and Herzegovina. We stayed at a very nice hostel with a beautiful garden in a quiet location. What makes this place truly special is Isaac, who works at the reception—he is incredibly friendly and welcoming to guests, it's truly remarkable.
Enno — Google review
Really nice experience in this hostel ! We rent a private room and it was perfect! Staff is friendly , rooms are clean, and the breakfast for €5 p person is awesome ! I strong recommend it!
Agustin O — Google review
Simple hostel just a short walk from the city center and public transportation. Basic dorm rooms, clean bathrooms, full service kitchen. Great stay at a great cost! The bathroom artwork was fun to see. Loved the “leave and take” shelf they have for travels that want to get rid of things they no longer need and pick up stuff others have left!
Lexie P — Google review
Had a lovely stay at Kaba Hostel, comfortable beds and small doom sizes (4'6 beds), a nice en-suite and a good continental breakfast for 5 euro, at an affordable price. The hostel is a bit away from the main historical centre of Gent, but in a quieter, student orientated area of town, with plenty of shops, bus and tram links. The hostel is certainly more of a chill out hostel, don't expect bar crawl meets, but was a good place unwind with a beer and read a book.Only downsides, are really that the hostel reception needs to be open during check in periods (especially Subday, when it closes at 6pm), as some guests arriving at 7 or 8pm couldn't get bedding or a room key. Also, that an electronic bell at reception to contact staff, would be better than a standard bell, which staff won't hear.
Eleanor H — Google review
the hostel is nice and it’s in a great location, but the doors are locked with keys and need to be relocked. that meant if one of the other girls left and didn’t lock our dorm door anyone can just walk in. it was left unlocked most of my stay despite a few of us talking to the others. the lockers were kinda broken and small squares, so I couldn’t keep much in there. it felt like a safety issue when i realized our door was unlocked late at night, at that point why pay extra for a womens dorm if a man could walk in while you slept. it would be in everyone’s best interest if they used magnetic door locks like most hostels do, or at least have it lock automatically when the door is closed.
Aloe N — Google review
Very good hostel. Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean. Couldn't be happier with a place.

Youth hostel
Nestled in the heart of Ghent's historic city center, Hostel De Draecke offers a laid-back atmosphere with both dormitory and private room options. Just a stone's throw away from Gravensteen Castle and the Graslei harbour, this modern hostel is perfect for groups, families, and solo travelers seeking a comfortable and peaceful place to stay.
Fantastic hostel! Were so helpful with me after I messed up my booking - had booked for the wrong month! - and let me stay for the days I was actually supposed to be there for no extra fee!! - only thing I had to do was change rooms once. Fantastic staff and so friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was also great, and had great luggage storage facilities. Would definitely recommend staying here!!
Alice — Google review
When I was staying there with friends I found a bag of chips near my mattress and the crumbs went all the way to my mattress! The green blanket had stains on it and the bunk beds were creeking every time u would sleep on it, and at night I was itching, the only good part about it was the bathroom. I recommend this place for its location furthermore I wouldn't show up a second time
Brieezzy E — Google review
I had a pleasant stay at Hostel De Draecke in mid-August, where I booked a 6-bed female dorm for 4 nights. The breakfast included in the stay was a great bonus! I also appreciated the fridge in the common area, which was handy for storing personal food. The common area itself is welcoming, with lockers, board games, and tour guides if you’re looking for something to do. The dorm had decently sized lockers, hangers, and duvets provided, which made things comfortable. That said, I’d like to raise a few points that could make the experience even better: 1.The hostel fridge had a strong smell, so it would be great if this could be addressed. 2.There was no trash can in the bathroom. Since the toilet and bathroom are separate, the only bin available was inside the toilet, which made disposal inconvenient. Adding bins in the room and bathroom would be very helpful. 3.The dorms don’t have air conditioning. While the weather was pleasantly cool in mid-August, the rooms could feel warm once the windows were closed, and in peak summer this could become uncomfortable—especially since keeping windows open means dealing with mosquitoes. 4.The location is excellent—right in front of a beautiful canal with trees and benches. However, this also means it can get a bit noisy at night, so bringing earplugs is a good idea. On the positive side, I met different dorm mates each night and everyone was kind and respectful, which made my stay even more enjoyable. Overall, I had a good experience here and would recommend Hostel De Draecke to other travelers! :)
Sachu S — Google review
Very disappointing experience. The room was dark, smelled bad, and the shower flooded the entire bathroom. The toilet had no ventilation. What I got looked nothing like the photos online. When I asked the receptionist for help, he was rude and sarcastic, saying "it’s not a 5-star hotel." I left within an hour and didn’t stay the night. Would not recommend.
Diana T — Google review
This hostel was excellent, the staff were very accommodating and welcoming and were able to meet all my needs. Accommodations were also nice and comfortable, but I will note its not a bad idea to install some air conditioning for the summer months as the rooms can get quite hot. Overall it was a fun experience :)
Ibinabo B — Google review
The only good thing I can say about this hostel is the location and the friendly staff. Otherwise it is way too expensive for what you get. Had a terrible sleep, matresses were super thin. Had to close the windows cause there were always guests chatting outside at night, and then the room got way too hot. And the scouts blasted their music at 7:45 although I am aware the hostel isn’t responsible for that but if I had known there would be so many children on our floor I would have stayed somewhere else honestly. All in all just way too expensive for what you get. I‘d rather have no free breakfast and a cheaper price in return
Callm3alex — Google review
Clean nice rooms, but the price was really too high. Could've gotten a hotel room for the same price 🥲
Rafayel G — Google review
Beds are just ok. Pillow is bad. Dorm rooms requiere you to leave key card inserted at door for electricity/AC to work . Dorms are expensive for the quality provided . Included breakfast is pretty diverse , it even includes boiled eggs .

Hostel
Treck Hostel is a unique and charming accommodation located in a former 19th-century brick factory, now part of Flanders' cultural heritage. The hostel offers cozy dorms and themed caravans with a casual bar featuring a terrace for socializing. It provides a warm atmosphere year-round, with communal spaces for entertainment and relaxation, including an outdoor area to enjoy the sun.
Absolutely fantastic place. Quirky accommodation yes, but that's not the best bit. The staff are super friendly, there's a really chilled vibe about the place. Nice range of casual activities going on in the social spaces. Great range of beers and drinks. Breakfast was really nice with unlimited coffee and food options. The location is also good. It's a 20 minute walk into the centre, all flat, so dead easy. We parked nearby at Parkbee and had a 10 mins walk with our wheelie suitcases. Again, super easy. I can't recommend this place highly enough. If you're considering it, get it booked. You won't be disappointed 😁
Graham W — Google review
What an interesting idea and absolutely awesome hotel. Friendly and welcoming staff, clean washrooms and accommodation. Superb decor, each camper is designed for a different theme. I really enjoyed my stay here. Would definitely recommend!
Sean M — Google review
Treck Hostel is a wonderful and beautiful place to stay at in Gent! The setting and concept of the camping site and caravan’s was really fun, it made me think of a theme park! My girlfriend and I stayed in the Mini Caravan for 3 nights. The beds were comfortable and we had cupboards to store our belongings in. However, it would get quite warm in the Mini Caravan at night so we opted to sleep with the door open for more air which solved the problem. Also, the top of the cupboard was really sticky for some reason, even my glasses and hair elastics would stick to it. Besides that, our stay was lovely and the staff helpful and welcoming. The hostel is 20 minutes away (walking) from the city centre which we found perfect!
Sophie — Google review
Came here on a short notice and after reception hours due to Dutch train strikes. We could still check in just fine and received a tour of the location despite it being like 00:00, absolutely fantastic service if you ask me. The place is unlike anything I've really ever seen before and I totally love the concept. Me and my friend booked 2 beds in a 12-bed room, but were given a small little private room with a 3-persons bunk bed. Fantastic upgrade. The place is clean, has immaculate vibes and I loved it, even though we spent less than 10 hours there. When I come to Gent again I will definitely go here to stay!
David B — Google review
What an awesome hostel! Super unique and relaxing! We stayed there for a few days when we came to visit Ghent it was great! Janna and Matilde are beautiful people and, together with their team, run a super unique, community consious, and cool hostel! The whole place is set up like you are somewhere in a different universe sleeping in campers or tents, but it's much more than that! Each sleeping area has a different unique theme , we stayed in the jungle room! Beds are super comfortable, clean sheets, free water, power for all your charging needs, plenty of bathrooms, and showers for everyone. Big common area where you can hang out, lounge, and play games. Good internet! Breakfast is perfect 👌 self serve buffer style Tea, coffee, juice, all the milk options, boiled eggs, the best bread , jam and cheese, chocolate and more! Really cool outside hangout area and coffee shop and bar with all the good stuff! 5 ⭐️'s on the espresso! Depending on the day they also have music and community events where there is an outside bad and a food vendor making things like pizza. Great location. So close to the center of the city, just a few minutes away. They have bicycles you can use! (Highly recommended if you want the full local experience) We even had our parents stay there for a couple of nights, their first hostel experience! They loved it! Suitable for anyone, even if you're only used to hotels, this is very comfortable, affordable and worth the experience! They also have a few common dorm rooms for the OG hostel experience as well as a kitchen for anyone to use. Highly recommended for anyone visiting this cool city! Can't wait to go back! ❤️❤️

The best spot ever! The vibes are here, the food is good and staff is amazing. Would recommend anyone to visit. If you’re from Ghent or a Tourist!
Elijah B — Google review
Great service The beds are metal so every bigger move makes them screech A bit farther from the city center but at least there's no extra noise from the outside
Matyáš V — Google review
I have just spent 4 nights in Treck hostel and felt very comfortable immediately thanks to the super friendly staff. I had the Mini caravan so I had a private bed and it was warm and cosy. The hostel is very clean and shower and toilet facilities were good. There is a recreation room with plenty to do and a great seating area outside. Breakfast was continental and very nice. A lovely selection. The bar is open until 10pm and after that it is quiet so you can sleep. I don't know what dorms are like but I slept well every night in my mini caravan which was perfect for one person and had lots of storage space. I would definitely choose Treck for my next trip to Ghent. The owner must be thrilled to have such warm and welcoming staff. Well done to all. I had a great time😁

Very great hostel! I had an amazing time with my friends. Most of the staff is very friendly and made our stay/breakfast amazing. Also the rooms are pretty big and sanitary. Enough space and privacy in the showers

My wife, sister-in-law and I stayed here in October 2014 and had a wonderful time. Ghent is a lovely city full of life and atmosphere. Hostel 47 is a great choice of place to stay. It was very comfortable, clean and well organized; close to the historical town centre, easy public transport. The host is extremely friendly and helpful. We intend to visit again when get another chance. Thanks for such a warm welcome!
Jonathan D — Google review
Lovely interior - a little bit modern, a little bit minimal, a little bit feeling of an old Flemish house. But, most importantly, the owner! Naturally friendly, nice to talk to. There is everything a nice hostel needs to have.
Liene S — Google review
This is the first time that i'm in a hostel. We booked a privet room for 2 people and it was not cheap, you could also stay at a cheap hotel for the money. The rooms, shared bathroom and toilets where clean. The shared kitchen was ok, but the egg boiler and toaster where dirty. Pros: relaxed atmosphere, cook your own food, have talk to other people and has a garden where you can BBQ. Cons: expensive, make you own bed, kitchen could be cleaner. Overall good experience and would do it again.
Marcel V — Google review
Amazing hostel! Modern interior, very clean, free kitchen to use anytime, awesome breakfast included, good location near the train station (Dampoort) and a very friendly staff make this hostel one of the best I've ever been in Europe. CERTAINLY RECOMMENDED!

This Hostel is very comfortable. Host is very friendly. He show some place in the neighborhood and provide maps. Breakfast is included. Options include: bread, egg, cheese, yogurt, cereal, milk, juice, tee, coffee. But there are many mosquitos in the room.
Allen G — Google review
I had a great stay here in my last days of Ghent. The place has a wide lobby, accessible kitchen even at late night, clean toilets and bathrooms every day and comfortable beds compared to a regular hostel. Korenmarkt (and any other places around the city center) is only a walking distance away. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful, there’s even a canal connecting to Leie (Lys) River right next to it. Prices were pretty reasonable (27€ per night but something could be arranged for longer stays). Lastly, the hosts were so friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The feeling of coziness was what made my experience here unique. Hostel 47 is the closest place to home if you’re on a budget and looking for a peaceful night here in Ghent.
Alim K — Google review
Great ambiance, very clean and so close to the city center. Heads up, bring cash to pay your room. There is no parking place inside the building area but you can park in the surrounding. Ticket price for 24h is €6 (better to do that) it wasn't easy to find a empty place but with luck you will make it. This hostel is by large the best option because is really near by the city center, so quiet and has this vibe from an old luxe house. Starcase is all made in wood but the rest of the hostel has a touch of modern hand. If you wanna go to Gent, give it a try in this hostel.

Youth hostel
Nestled in the heart of Gent's historic center, The Cover Hostel is a charming and cozy youth hotel located on the beautiful Vrijdagmarkt. It serves as an ideal base for exploring the city's rich historical culture and vibrant nightlife. While it may not be suitable for all groups due to shared kitchen facilities and dormitory-style accommodations, its central location makes it perfect for a night out with friends.
***** An Unexpected Experience While booking “The Cover” hostel which is located above a bar in the centre of Ghent we were expecting just another dime a dozen hostel or worse. Were we wrong. Upon arriving we were almost immediately greeted at the bar slash reception by a very charming young woman who, after arranging a few formalities, gave us the full tour of the hostel. What we saw was beyond what we expected. The bedrooms are luxurious, spotless and even though the room we were in can hold twelve people, we never had the feeling that we didn’t have any privacy. The impeccable bathroom, which is completely in marble holds plenty of showers, private toilets and other facilities. Seeing as this is an area where a lot of hostels stumble they defInitely scored points there. Finally, there’s a fully equipped kitchen including multiple induction stoves to cook on and tons of utensils to use. During our stay the hostel was fully booked but there was never a lack of space and/or materials to cook whatever we wanted whenever we wanted. After completing the tour and receiving our code making sure we could enter the hostel 24/7 we decided to get some drinks at the bar and call it a night. Being tired we mostly enjoyed the artwork and scenery displayed, which were all realised by local artists. If we wanted though, we could enjoy the variety of games including pool, kicker (fussball), boardgames and even soms light (legal) gambling. The next morning whilst enjoying the marketview in the sun (which is present all day), we drank our last coffee before leaving a statisfied costumer. 5/5 Will defenitely go again

Room was very cold at night, and duvets were not sufficient. Triple bunks are very awkward to get into if you are tall. Other than that the bar is very cool, with games and billiards. Great beer. Showers were very good. Very small bathrooms though. A few things they could fix, but has great potential.
Gareth M — Google review
It's at good location but beds are like too congested as it's 3 bunk and it's very annoying for person to get at top.. But plus point is it has bar and games to play.

Location was perfect, but it isn't as clean as it should be (especially the smell in this place). What we did like was the entrance after opening hours.

Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Reylof is a deluxe four-star hotel located in the heart of Ghent, Belgium. The hotel was recently refurbished and is housed in an 18th-century residence that once belonged to Baron Olivier de Reylof. It features stylish rooms, some with balconies, and a leafy courtyard situated between the main building and its original coach house.
Stunning, stunning, stunning. If you want to have an exceptional stay while in Ghent, Belgium, stay at Pillows. My husband booked this hotel from Canada (where we live) and we had no idea what to expect, other than we knew the pictures of the hotel looked nice. We were so pleasantly surprised when we got to the hotel. It’s lovely, very well appointed and so close to everything you want to see in this beautiful city. We were there July 16th and were only there for one night. We could have easily stayed several more nights to get the full effect of Ghent. Turns out it was a good thing we were only there one night because the day we arrived, huge sound stages were being erected all around the city for a 2 week long music festival that was set to begin the day after we left. If you’re going to visit Ghent, do it. You’ll love it. But if you’re not going to the music festival, don’t go the last two weeks of July. Thousands and thousands of people descend on the city and you can hardly move, let alone see the historic sites.

Very nice hotel. Modern, chic, quiet. Sauna and Spa is quite small. The pool is rather a ticking box exercise. Clean facilities and amazing cleaning team. Amazing welcome goodies for when you arrive. However - diff price rates per night - no thanks, will never visit again based on that alone. Never ever have been to a hotel that does that … and I personally do not like it.

We spent weekend on this amazing Hotel, location was great 10 minutes walk to the center. Room was clean and very spacious with balcony. Staff and services were amazing. Sauna and had an amazing facial spa with Helen. We dine at the restaurant LOF tasting menu were amazing. I wish they had some more of premium wine to choose from. Had an incredible lunch Olivier Bistro.

Ive stayed here for up to 2 weeks at a time multiple times for work over the past several years. The service, room, and amenities are always amazing. Its quiet yet in walking distance to the city center. The food options at the hotel restaurant and cafe are delicious, and they are always very helpful if there are any challenges. They also have a very nice spa. Highly recommend for any trip in Ghent

Great location. Really excellent customer service from both reception, breakfast crew, and bar area. Lovely outdoor garden. Unsurprisingly really nice pillows! ( and sheets) comfy bed. Try to get a room facing the garden if you can. Good breakfast spread. Located a few mins walk from town center. I’m going to try other Pillows locations after this experience!

Maybe 4*...but 5* service.. Special Tks to Mika on reception.. Zain in the restaurant and Nicholas.. The AM.. The staff are amazing.. No request is an issue and sorted with a smile.. Had to change rooms after check in as tv had a cracked screen.. Mika actually helped carry our bags to the upgraded room.. Great location.. Luxurious linens and rooms.. Lovely spa.. FYI.. Narrow stairs to get up to the sauna.. Many thanks to the Pillows team..

Excellent stay - lovely hotel, a stones throw from the main sites in Ghent. Friendly service, clean, modern and spacious rooms and great spa facilities! We didn’t have breakfast but did enjoy a delicious lunch at Olivier’s bistro before departure.

Thanks for the free room upgrade for the birthday and handwritten note + balloons! Lovely hotel with lots of character and charm. Tricky layout as the hotel seems to be long and thin but just maybe that adds to the charm! Location is OK. 5 mins walk from the city centre. Parking on-site is expensive so best to park in the public car park 'Parking Ramen' for 15 euro per day and only a few minutes walk. Rooms were decent and modern. Beds a little hard but the air conditioning and blackout curtains very good. Bath robes and slippers nice addition. The hotel pool and spa are nice but very small. I was happy the hotel provided umbrella loan for guest use at it rained a lot in Ghent when I was there!

The Ghent Marriott Hotel offers a sophisticated stay with picturesque river views and a delicious breakfast. The hotel boasts a gym, two bars, and a restaurant, including the iconic Midtown Grill serving USDA certified steaks in an elegant 1930s setting. Situated in the historic city of Ghent, known for its rich history and vibrant modern culture, the hotel perfectly blends classic Marriott features with its historical surroundings. Guests can enjoy views of the Lys River from many terraces and rooms.
My stay at the Ghent Marriott Hotel was truly exceptional. This beautifully located hotel combines comfort, style, and good service — all right in the centre of Ghent’s historic district. You’re just steps away from the canals, charming streets, and all the major sights, yet the hotel itself offers a calm, upscale atmosphere that's perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. One of the highlights for me was the gym — clean, well-equipped, and open 24/7, which was ideal for keeping up with my fitness routine during my trip. It had everything I needed for a proper workout, which isn’t always the case with hotel gyms in Belgium. The breakfast was another standout feature. The selection was excellent: a generous buffet with freshly baked pastries, quality cold cuts and cheeses, fruit, and really good coffee. The breakfast space was bright and welcoming, and service was attentive without being intrusive. My room was elegant and comfortable, with thoughtful details, a plush bed, and large windows offering beautiful views of the canal. The hotel also has a stylish bar and lounge area with a cosy atmosphere — perfect for a drink in the evening. All in all, the Ghent Marriott Hotel offers everything you could ask for in a city stay: fantastic location, modern facilities, a great gym, and top-notch breakfast. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ghent for business or leisure.

The Marriott is situated in a prime location, and the staff is incredibly daring and kind. As a titanium member, I was fortunate enough to be upgraded to a canal view room by Megan, who promptly apologized for the mix-up when I checked in. She went above and beyond to make up for the inconvenience, offering us various amenities and ensuring that my birthday trip was truly special. Juncal, the manager, was a pleasure to interact with during my check-in. The breakfast staff was equally warm and friendly, contributing to the overall positive experience. The hotel has undergone a remarkable renovation, resulting in a spacious and clean interior. While it retains a modern aesthetic, it deviates from the traditional Belgian style.

Interesting trivia: in the 19th century the building was a brasserie cum brothel. Looking at the building today nobody could even think that. Typical Marriott hotel. Location is great, all tourist spots are within walking distance. Take canal view rooms-its worth it! Only complaint that breakfast buffet is very plain, maybe some more exclusive options will be good
Amrita D — Google review
My experience at this Hotel was very good. The room was large and had enough space for my 2 year old to walk around. The service was really good. We drove from Germany and the Parking lot was the basement of the building and had an EV charging station as well. The Hotel Breakfast is adequate. Although the quality of food was good, there was options than I expected. The Location of the hotel for the price we paid was great and cannot complain about it. Toiletries and Amenities were provided in adequate supplies.
Sayantan D — Google review
Very disappointing experience at this Marriott. I booked a king-size bed for my wedding anniversary with my wife, but was given two small 140 cm beds instead. Staff tried to convince me they were “king-size,” which is simply untrue. For the price I paid, I could have chosen a much better hotel. I will never return here and this makes me reconsider Marriott as a whole.
Louis H — Google review
Great location. The room was spacious and the river view was breathtaking. Staff members were super lovely, they gave us a heartfelt welcome and took time to make our trip even more special. Ghent is beautiful and I’d love to come back again and stay at Marriott.

The location of this hotel is pretty unbeatable. The hotel itself is nice and our room was as expected and had decent space by European standards. The complimentary breakfast for platinum status was very good and if you go early enough there are mimosas.

Excellent location, nice room, and great service in this hotel. Came during the festival and they accommodated our request for a quiet room. We couldn’t hear the main stage at all. Also, this hotel has uniquely great air conditioning for a European hotel.

Hostel
Ecohostel Andromeda is a unique accommodation located on a canal barge just outside the center of Ghent. The hostel offers basic yet cozy quarters, including dormitories and double rooms. Guests can enjoy the experience of falling asleep to the gentle waves of Ghent's canals while being about a 15-minute walk from the old city. The eco-friendly hostel provides free WiFi and friendly staff who go above and beyond to make guests feel at home.
The staff were super friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to answer queries and make you feel at home. Breakfast is included too which is always super handy. Sleeping on a boat was a great experience, and with the two communal - 1 outside deck and the inside lounge area - it’s impossible to not make friends on this boat.
Maria P — Google review
That was a great stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I have to admit I didn't expect to stay on a barge this year and it was a great experience. I slept very well and the place was very quiet. Because you sleep on a barge, you can hear the birds in the morning. :) It is also quite easy to meet the other travelers. The only negative point is due to the fact the place is small. It is not a hostel where you can really cook. Otherwise, I recommend this place! :)
Ludo — Google review
The service of the staff was great and timely. The beds and were comfortable and clean, along with the rest of the hostel. The hostel is conveniently located less than a 15 min walk from the city center. Certainly one of the more unique hostels I have seen. Would absolutely stay again!
Ian L — Google review
One of the best best hostels I've stayed at. The vibe is great, the owner is super nice, the rooms are clean, and it's on a freaking boat. Unfortunately, there's no real kitchen, just a microwave, no laundry service and lots of spiders. But I still highly recommend staying here. Truly an amazing hostel.
Suzy K — Google review
Small, but very comfortable and cosy eco-friendly hostel with clean facilities, free breakfast-buffet (vegetarian), led by two very nice Belgians (and a dog, who wants you to throw him a stick whenever he sees you). As it is located on a boat, staying there gives you the very unique feeling of crossing the seven seas, while having all the opportunities of a beautiful ancient student-town (Gent) in reachable distance (City-centre around 20 min by foot), without you having to worry of getting sea-sick, as the channel is very calm. Hence my conclusion: I'll definitely come again and you should really, really go there too!
Chief B — Google review
The concept of the boat hostel was very interesting. The space is small but convivial and guests get to interact which makes the stay interesting. The location is not ideal. It is abit far from the action and the train station. The space was clean and for the reasonable price, I would revisit if I do return to Ghent.
Marcus G — Google review
Friendly personal. It really is a eco hostel with all the stuff that you need to feel happy. And the boat flair offers you a really nice experience. The rooms are pretty small but cosy and the beds are nice and comfortable. You can see that the people put much effort in the construction of this hostel. The corridor offers no heating thought but i think this is part of the concept. I enjoyed my stay there, althought some of the guests were a bit weird at the time i stayed there. xD
Philippe W — Google review
This is the coolest hostel I have stayed in, and an awesome city too! Free breakfast, maps available (do the lights walk, and the graffiti walk), honors system drinks fridge. I don't remember there being safes, but also didn't feel that I really needed one and nothing got stolen.

Gravensteen, also known as the Castle of the Counts, is a well-preserved 10th-century moated castle located in Ghent, Belgium. The castle houses an armory museum and offers panoramic views of the city. Visitors to Ghent can explore various famous sites such as the Belfry, Saint Bavos Cathedral (Sint-Baafskathedral), and the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb.
One of the most beautiful castles in Europe I have visited. A must-visit spot in Gent. Love the panoramic view, picturesque scenery. I bought the ticket with discount for student (8€) and free audio guide. I enjoyed the guide very much and took a lot of photos inside the castle.
Linh T — Google review
A great place to bring kids. It's about 13 euros (less if you're a resident or child) to enter, but it also includes an audio tour which was helpful and made the experience more enjoyable. Kids younger than 12 are free. The view of Ghent from the rooftop is lovely, and it is interesting to see the Mediaeval halls, torture chambers, toilets etc. the audio tour is 30-60 minutes depending on which version you choose (short vs long and comedic). A must-see if you visit Ghent!
Jay K — Google review
A must-visit in Ghent - the castle not only looks amazing from the outside, but is really fascinating on the inside too. You don’t need to book beforehand if you have a free and easy day in Ghent - show up, get a ticket with a slot in an hour’s time or so, then come back for your slot (we even did the river boat tour while waiting). There is a free audio tour and I highly recommend the “humour” one - it’s really funny, entertaining, yet shared a lot of interesting history about the castle. Its an excellently designed audio tour (probably the best I’ve done), and the castle itself was fantastic too. The view from the too of the Castle overlooking Ghent is great, too!
Ethan P — Google review
Quite busy on the weekend but totally worth it. Your tickets are valid 10 min before the official admission time. Take an audio guide, there is a comedic version that was a nice touch, even if a bit on the nose at times. It's also great for kids, as long as you keep them off the ramparts where there's no railing.
Erik — Google review
Absolutely incredible, so much amazing history. Includes audio guide in the entrance price. So sureal to just walk around and soak in the history. Quite a few narrow step stairways but worth the climb for a beautiful panoramic view.
Coral C — Google review
It was really amazing to be in a castle! They also give audio tours that you bring with you. Learned what it was like in the castle before. Really liked the souvenir I got too these 2 coins. Book in advance cause there are only certain times people can go in and last entrance is I think around 4pm.
Janelle C — Google review
Beautiful example of a period castle. While largely empty, the audio guide was quite informative and well produced. I recommend the hour-long 'comedy' audio guide tour, as it has a good number of stories to talk through the history and design of the castle. I went with my three boys (ages 12, 8 and 5). They all enjoyed the visit, though I didn't get an audio guide for the younger two.
Aaron O — Google review
Definitely book your ticket online, otherwise you risk a long wait in line. The audio guide, told in a playful, comedy style, makes the story both adventurous and thoroughly enjoyable, with colorful and witty touches throughout. The castle is beautifully maintained, and the visit is easy to follow, taking around an hour and a half. Comfortable shoes are a must for going up and down the stairs. From the terrace, you can take in — and capture — some truly gorgeous views of the city.

As a sports enthusiast, this is a place you must visit. There is a wide variety of games offered such as table football, darts, air hockey, and more. There are plenty of TV screens and a beautiful interior. We had the cheese croquette and shrimp croquette, which were standard products and not exceptional, but we were still satisfied. We will be back.

Place still in development after all these years. Seems hard to draw people to this place. I think its worth your while to see it. Area full in development. Building almost 8.000 new homes in this area. Love the small shops but lacks a bit the atmosphere while the buildings are stunning. They also house a good coffee place ... ;-)

Definitely modern vibe as for today's shopping district. It made me think of Amsterdam in a way this area is hip for sure. I like the surroundings and the vibes of building. It's clean and they have grocery store, pharmacy store, clothing stores and other stuffs. I just visited this location by accident as I wanted to visit Action store. Now I have more reason to visit like try out the coffee store or even relax at this area during the sunny day.

With its convenient location near the town hall, Saint Bavo Cathedral, and attractions like The Belfry tower and Gravensteen Castle, this hotel provides easy access to the city's landmarks.
We had a wonderful stay at NH Collection Ghent, Belgium! The rooms were comfortable and beautifully maintained, and the breakfast was absolutely amazing so many delicious options to start the day. The hotel’s location in the city centre was perfect, making it easy to walk to all the main attractions. I had a wonderful stay at NH Gent! The hotel is very beautiful and the service was consistently fast and efficient. On multiple occasions, we requested items like cutlery and slippers, and they were delivered quickly without any delay. I highly recommend staying here. One of the highlights of our experience was the receptionist, **Clarissa** – she was incredibly kind and caring towards our daughter. I’ve never seen such warm and genuine treatment before, and I truly thank her from the bottom of my heart. Thank you, NH Gent, for a great stay!

Excellent Stay with Minor Comfort Issue Great hotel with exceptional service from check-in to check-out. The room was clean, well-equipped, and everything—from the shower to the connectivity—worked perfectly. The only downside was the bed, which was too firm for a stomach sleeper like me. I had to improvise with extra blankets for comfort. The gym and sauna are a nice bonus, although the multi-resistance trainer was out of order—something I’ve noticed at many hotels. It might be time for hotel chains to reconsider that particular piece of equipment. Breakfast was excellent, and the location is unbeatable for exploring Ghent. Overall, highly recommended and definitely my go-to hotel in Ghent moving forward.

Lovely hotel with welcoming staff. The lobby is bright and inviting. Breakfast is fantastic - great selection with the addition of items that can be made on request (4 year old was a fan of the pancakes!). Room was large and clean, and felt fresh. The manager (we are assuming) was wonderful with our little one and super friendly, as were all of the waiting staff at breakfast and in bar the evening before. Perfectly located. Fully recommend.

Beautiful hotel lobby and bedrooms were very pleasant (massive bed, intuitive rain shower). Nice treat if you’re staying more than 2 nights to offer a complimentary beverage if you skip housekeeping. Excellent location easily walkable from many cafes, important sites, shopping, trams. Would come back.
Shanna E — Google review
Great hotel. Service from start to finish were perfect. Room was great except the bed was like a rock for a stomach sleeper. Had to pile up all the blankets and sleep on that. Shower, connectivity and everything else were great. Gym and sauna are nice but this one piece of equipment (multi resistance trainer) was broken like every other hotel I have seen it at. No idea who selects this for the hotel chains but needs to be replaced. Breakfast and location are perfect. Highly recommend and will be my go to hotel in Ghent moving forward.

The hotel is really well located near the center. The rooms are fine despite being a big old but they are clean. There is a nice swiming pool too. They have a parking but you need to book in advance at 30 eur per day. The breakfast was good with a wide selection to choose from. Coming to the downside, we had to wait until 15h for the room to be ready while the hotel wasn’t really full. Despite that we enjoyed our stay

“İş seyahati” I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The price–performance ratio is excellent, and the staff are genuinely attentive and helpful. Special thanks to Serda at the reception, who was truly wonderful. The breakfast is outstanding, and the available facilities are more than sufficient. The bathroom and cleaning products provided are of high quality, and I appreciated that the toilet is separate. The only minor downside is that the furniture feels a bit old, but overall this did not affect the comfort of my stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel is in a good location & short walking distance to most of the major attractions. Our room was warm, clean and adequate for our needs. The young guy behind the bar was great, as was the young lady that checked us out. Both friendly and willing to engage in conversation, not quite the same when we checked in.

On arrival we stated that the safe wasn’t working. We requested new batteries,as that all was needed, that was on Thursday when we arrived. Friday we requested again as nothing was done with maintenance as previously requested. We mentioned it again Friday afternoon, we left on Sunday with the safe still not being sorted. Bad management as 2 different people wrote it down on post notes but still nothing was done. On the Sunday there was a run around the town, all roads were cut off and getting in and out of the hotel was a nightmare, surely the staff and manage knew of this and a short note put up at reception would have been helpful. A great central hotel but staff need to be more diligent and helpful
Janet D — Google review
Pretty pleasant stay at this hotel. But the rooms could be better. The ladder to the top bunk bed was missing 2 screws, which made it very unstable. The bed lamps were also both defective, the small desk drawer had a broken latch, and there was some trash behind the curtains. The room was a bit cramped, and at night you could sometimes hear the noice of noisy people in the street. Service was good. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of options, and the location is ideal if you’re planning on going to museums.
Christophe Z — Google review
We spend a night with family in the Novotol, which is perfectly located for Gent Center. The staff is very caring and there is a positive vibe in the hotel. The big BUT is the parking. The parking is not suitable for cars over 4m!!! We maneuvered our close to 5m car with two people and entering and leaving both took us 15 minutes full of sweat and focus. This needs to be communicated in advance. Instead of paying 30 Eurofor this adventure we should have been paid.
Stefan P — Google review
This hotel is located right in the heart of Gent city centre. Though the location is great, the rooms are really not so great as per the brand should have. It had some average looking rooms with air conditioners not working at all. One bed side had a charging point but other doesn’t which is a bit inconvenient. They might not look or review your message request so try calling them directly for it. The good part is the bar thats in the hotel- it is an amazing bar with amazing service especially by Kaz. So thats a great plus point.
Parul G — Google review
Very frustrating experience. Room was mostly clean but had a run down feel. Gym was disappointing (no weights even). Breakfast was not good. And I had an encounter with a staff member where he was quite rude to me, after another (new) staff member made a mistake that cost me over 100€. I travel a lot and understand if someone doesn’t know the ropes yet, but to be yelled at for it is about the most unpleasant experience I’ve had in a long time! Will not be coming back here.

Nestled in the medieval center of Ghent, 1898 The Post is a chic boutique hotel housed in a former post office building. With less than 40 rooms, each uniquely named after postal elements, this designer hotel boasts late-19th-century architecture paired with vintage decor and high ceilings. The old-world charm is enhanced by antique furnishings scattered throughout the establishment. Guests can enjoy the period cocktail bar, The Cobbler, offering city views.
We spent about 2 weeks in 3 different countries for our summer holiday, and staying in this hotel was the absolute highlight of the trip! We stayed in the tower suite, and it was a complete dream come true. The view of the city from the room is unmatched, the romance of it all was just overwhelming. The staff was absolutely lovely and SO helpful.

The hotel was exceptional, and the location was even better. Everyone who worked there went above and beyond to help us, and their kindness really stood out. I would highly recommend staying here. I stayed in one of the smaller rooms since that’s all they had left—the hotel was pretty much sold out during our stay. There are two different types of rooms: some are on one floor, while others are split into two floors. If you prefer not to deal with stairs, I recommend looking into the options before booking. One of my favorite things was the vibe of the hotel itself. Walking through the hallways honestly felt like stepping into a Harry Potter scene—charming, unique, and full of character. Even with the smaller room, the experience was wonderful. The hotel is right in the heart of everything, and since it’s a small town, you can easily explore it all in one or two days. Any longer really isn’t necessary. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

This review is based on one night. Location: If you want to experience staying in a historical, magnificent place right in the heart of Gent, this is the right hotel. Room: We stayed in a dublex standart king room. The bed area was narrow. There is no view and balcony in the room. The toilet on the ground floor has no sink and I think it is not good for hygiene. The hygiene gel in the restroom isn't a solution either. It's not wise to go upstairs to the bathroom to wash your hands. Otherwise, the decor and ambiance are magnificent. The bathroom and sink are also beautiful in the upstairs. It's also a pleasure to see Guerlain products in the bathroom. Breakfast: The bar/restaurant area has such a unique and historical wibe. The variety and quality of products were perfect. The Honesty Bar: One of my fav spot at the hotel. Staff: Extremely polite and warm. Parking: If you travel with your car, parking area is just 350 m away and 30€ per night. Entrance is done by a code. Overall it was a unique experience and highly recommend.

The hotel is situated right in the middle of Gent, making it easy to walk anywhere in the beautiful city. The staff were super nice and accommodating, including the awesome bartenders at The Cobbler. Highly recommend staying here if you visit.

I have nothing but positive things to say about 1898 the Post. Great location in the center of Gent. Beautiful building. Elegant yet cozy rooms. Staff went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed my stay. Truly one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had.
Olivia A — Google review
This is one of the coolest hotels I've ever visited! From the dark and moody paint on the walls to the whimsical knickknacks, everything is beautifully styled. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Ghent. There is so much to see within a few minutes' walk of the hotel. The honesty bar is a nice touch. It felt good to sit in there, listen to the music, and sip on a small glass of jenever. As marvelous as it is aesthetically, this hotel can be a bit impractical. The main entrance is difficult to find, which makes checking in harder than it needs to be. The room itself was impractical, too. The bathroom sink and shower were up a flight of stairs, and the toilet was on the main floor. (Putting even a small sink in the toilet room would be a nice touch!) There's not a lot of usable space to set your things down. The nightstands are small, and the shower has no room for any toiletries that you might bring with you. Just one more shower hook would be nice, too! A lot of effort clearly went into designing the bathroom, but it doesn't appear that much thought was given to how it would be used. Despite the inconveniences, we had a great stay and would gladly come back. Just be advised that this hotel is not well suited for people with limited mobility. Simply getting a glass of water or brushing your teeth may require you to go to and down a flight of stairs. It that's not a big deal for you, then I would highly recommend this hotel. I look forward to heading back sometime!

Warning! Unless you book the more expendsive rooms you will end up with a bathroom on another floor! Very dangerous staircases, stone, without handrails! But the people on staff are lovely- the dark "harry potter" theme is a poorly done troupe that is just not there at all well done - after all its just dark paint people!- (honestly do not at all understand the 5 star reviews which mention this) ...walls are chipped a lot of places and our toilet room had some strange drip marks on the walls...over all it was ok but very grateful that it was off season as the noise level was just in range of acceptable ...just ok, not really impressed for almost 500. a night.

Hostel
Backstay Hostel Ghent is a charming accommodation nestled in a stunning Art Deco building that boasts a fascinating history, having once served as the editorial office for the Dagblad Vooruit newspaper. This hostel offers both mixed dorms and private rooms with shared bathrooms, making it an ideal choice for various travelers. Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast featuring delicious Belgian waffles and other tasty options, setting the tone for an exciting day of exploration in this historic city center.
Such a nice hostel, 10 min walk to the city center and great staff. This place has only been open 2 months but I highly recommend it. They have a nice bar and large restaurant seating area for breakfast. They offer standard continental but you can also make your own waffles and boiled eggs. Nice facilities for the kitchen if you choose to cook there. Great little bar inside the hostel. Super friendly staff with good recommendations and ready to help with anything. Extremely clean facilities and free use of washer and dryer! 15 bed dorm has beds 3 high which wasn't my preference but it still wasn't bad. Great place and good location, affordable and clean, overall a great place to stay In a gem of a town!

I really liked this hostel. The breakfast selection (free) was also much better than others I've had, which included waffles/toppings. The bathroom/shower area (3rd floor) was also clean and well maintained. No clogging, etc. Only negative is no lift, so if you're on the top floor like I was, you'll have to carry all your luggage up some long flights of stairs. Also, the fitted sheets are tiny and you will need to fold your mattress in half to get them to fit. Lots of work. And location is not the most central, so I ended up staying at a different hostel afterwards but regretted it because Backstay was much nicer, cleaner, more well maintained.

We stayed at the Backstay Hostel on its 3rd day of being opened this summer (2014). It is a great place to stay. The place itself is very nice and brand new! They have a cool "hangout" room where you can socialize, play games, play some music, and meet new people from all over. I made a couple of friends from England and Finland in the two nights I was there. The biggest attraction to the hostel was the accommodations and helpfulness of the hostel staff. We came into town not knowing where anything was at or having a place to stay and park and they worked things out so that we had a place to stay for the weekend. They spent plenty of time giving us good tips on places to visit and eat in the town. Over all it was a great experience and actually our most favorable hotel "experience" in our two week/four country tour of Europe! Prices were good too. Had a great time in a lovely city. Greetings from Texas!

After a long day of hitchhiking, or just about any other form of commuting, it's nice to be welcomed by a cosy atmosphere, friendly people and a clean, modern looking room. And that's exactly what the Backstay Hostel offers. It's close to the centre, serves good coffee when you want to be lazy for a while and has these nice watch-style room keys so you won't lock yourself out. Also there's lockers included in the rooms. Only negative point I can think of is that the shower area gets a bit damp, but that's not too relevant once you're done showering anyways.
Lodewijk P — Google review
Nice, some rooms still under construction. It has really good breakfasts, but the cinema room isn't open. There is a great all you can eat ribs cafe called little Amadeus just down the street. The hostel has a few boardgames and a lack luster kitchen.
Laurence J — Google review
Nice cozy hostel. I stayed in a 12-person dorm and the temperatures in the room did rise to about 24°C, which is a bit too hot. Air-conditioning would be a major improvement. Breakfast was great with Belgian waffles.
Robin B — Google review
Pros: the locations is great, the building has a cool historical story to it as it was a newspaper building for a long time. Also they serve a decent breakfast. Everyday at 4 there is a guy comes and gives free tour he's not hired by the hostel but hes the best. Do it! He really knows everything about Gent and loves it. Also he will give you recommendations on what to do and where to go out to drink or eat and have fun experiences. Cons: outweighs the pros. it's hot and muggy, they won't open the Windows cause they are historical protected items. And they don't even have fans in the rooms that sleeps 16 people. Also, you need to pull some serious Tarzan moves to get into the bed. And my friend got bed bugs bites when he stayed but none of the other 4 of us did.
Zaid A — Google review
I'm getting to old for this. Great interior, decent food on a top location in a beautiful building. A bit understaffed when we where there, so service suffered. Nonetheless, kind and helpful staff. The sanitation what's well maintained. Our bed seemed to have succumbed to previous use, so the bed springs where on the floor. My back did not care for this.

Atlas B&B is a charming bed and breakfast in the heart of Ghent. It offers comfortable beds and an excellent breakfast, making it an perfect place to stay while visiting the city. The location is ideal for walking around the historic center of Ghent, and the friendly staff are always happy to help.
Entering the B&B feels like entering in a geographer (yes, that's my job) 's dream. Everything in Atlas is thought to make you think of exploring new horizons... And it is the perfect place to start your visit of Ghent : the location is perfect, the host is lovely and the breakfast was an amazing way to start our day ! Thank you very much 💓

Location is great, host was lovely, building was interesting and well decorated, good price. Only downsides was not getting the room we booked, room was a bit dusty and bathroom cramped. Can’t really complain though because breakfast was great and the host was really nice to us even though we were late to check in. Thanks again, Francis :) check out the breakfast room!!

Stayed here a few months ago in August: bedbugs (!!!) were found, but owner was nowhere near the accommodation and we had to contact one of the people living on the top floor. Disgusting. Rooms were dusty and old fashioned. Moist smell.
Mohammed C — Google review
Watch out, this hotel has had bedbugs for more than a year now!!! The owner does not take responsibility and lets guests sleep in infected rooms! He will also not answer his phone when you call in the evening for an emergency. Renting out hotel rooms that have infested matrasses is gross and unethical
Aa B — Google review
All the rooms have the themes or a continent, and we had asia. The room was filled with decorations from there, collected by the owners. The whole place is decorated with things related to atlases, like globes and whatnot. WiFi is great. Owners are very accommodating. Place is a bit hard to reach, but that's not a big deal. It's proximity to the city centre makes up for that.
Coen V — Google review
All rooms are in Atlas style, we had "Africa", my brother and sister in law had "America" and "Antartica". All spacious and with a unique touch. Our hosts were very kind and the b&b is on a 10 minute walk from the medieval center of Gent.

A Hidden Gem in Ghent – Don’t Miss Simon Says! 🍺✨ If you’re visiting Ghent for the first time and looking for a place to enjoy a truly good Belgian beer without falling into a tourist trap – do yourself a favor and walk a little off the beaten path to Simon Says. Tucked away at the corner of a charming little street, this place is hands down one of the most atmospheric and cozy bars in the whole city. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm, friendly service and a vibe that makes you want to stay for hours. Whether you’re in the mood for a delicious Belgian beer, a sweet treat, or some quality olives or snacks, this place has something for everyone. It’s the kind of spot where locals and savvy travelers come to relax – far away from the overpriced chaos near the cathedral. Forget the central tourist-trap prices – Simon Says is a true hidden gem that actually cares about what it serves and how you feel. A perfect mix of flavor, friendliness, and authenticity. Highly recommended. Don’t miss it. 🍻💛

I stopped by for a coffee, just per chance. I ended up having some cake as well! Very good place, staff is great. Really wothwhile for a short detour from the city center. It's a good five minutes from the the big sites like the castle and the historical city center. Can get a bit crowded for some, but I found it very cosy.

You can find this comfortable cafe in just 5 min by walk from the touristic attractions of Ghent. The hot chocolate here was amazing (with whipped cream recommended;) ). The staff was really kind and friendly. Good for friends or solo (yes they have wifi and outlets...)

We visited Simon Says for a brunch and we liked it so much that we went again the next day. Everything we tried was top quality and taste. They use organic and local products which is very important. The service was excellent and cool just like the ambience despite full occupancy. It was relatively expensive but worth it. If we visit Ghent again we would definitely go back!

Great place for a short stay with beer, wine or coffee. We had a vegan flat white, cherry beer and a 0% IPA. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The area of the bar is perfectly located in the inner city where it is not too busy. If you need a quiet drink, I highly recommend this place. Definitely worth a visit when strolling around Ghent!

Great location. Pretty amazing room for family of four - clean, large, quiet. Friendly greeting and services if you need them. Located within very easy walking distance of the cathedral, belfry, boat trips, castle. Recommend Eat Love Pizza for a family meal. Yummy friendly and very close to hotel.

Exceptionally clean and welcoming hotel, very nice staff. Great location near the centre and easy to walk everywhere. Lovely to have a little coffee lounge to sit in, maybe a few more different books and magazines would be nice. Not so much choice for vegetarians for breakfast, but it was filling and very good coffee.

A very nice and centrally located Hotel. Stayed her for a long weekend and we really enjoyed staying here. Most of the things are walkable from the hotel. There's a parking garage nearby. We will definitely stay here again if we plan a new trip to Gent. Do not forget to visit "t Dreupelkot" if you are looking for an iconic place to have a drink. Highly recommended.

We stayed for two nights. The hotel is basically in the city center which made it easy and enjoyable to sightsee the city. There are a lot of shops around in case you need anything. The hotel offers free water, tea and coffee at the reception. It was a nice gesture which I appreciated. The room size and amenities were satisfactory although there was not a fridge in the room. The hotel encouraged me to skip room maintenance for a day to help saving environment by giving 5€ voucher which I spent at their small shop. The staff were kind, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was good for the price. All in all we enjoyed our stay and recommend it to everyone.

We loved the location of this hotel in Ghent, so close to the centre (clue is in the hotel name I guess!) but was so easy to find and the staff were so helpful offering us a map and booklet on Ghent. On our departure they gave us excellent directions of where to get the tram and which to get to the station. Would highly recommend. We didn't book breakfast as we feel the cost is not justified as we eat so little, and there are soooo many cafes around that do fantastic food and coffee and of course proper hot chocolate :-)

Ibis Gent Centrum St Baafs Kathedraal is a modern hotel with a relaxed atmosphere, providing complimentary Wi-Fi and an on-site cafe/bar. Situated across from Saint Bavos Cathedral, this classic hotel chain offers clean and trustworthy accommodations with a 24-hour front desk. The hotel provides private parking for guests driving in and welcomes furry companions.
I stayed with my family at this hotel on a tour to Belgian cities. The location is its better advantage. Very convenient, quiet, and very cozy. The friendly staff and kind customer service personnel are their cherry on top. Kind regards from us all on the exceptional hospitality.

Location is great. Youre in the center and literally across the cathedral. The rooms, they are ok but definitely not worth the price they sell the rooms for. The bathroom is small so if you're a tall or bigger person, the toilet space could be an issue. The beds are comfortable. They have USB ports which is nice and they give u a bottle of water.
Neena O — Google review
Stayed two days at Ghent Cathedral. Ibis is a reliable, budget hotel, but with 5 star locations! We were literally across the road from the cathedral. Hotel was fine, everything was clean and worked, we had a premium room. There was plenty of space and coffee and tea in the room but still very little storage space, typical Ibis… An extra empty shelf or drawer would be nice! The breakfast was prima, with fresh waffels! The bar was OK, but had rather a lot of competition from all the brasseries and terraces nearby. The staff were friendly and efficient. And, to repeat myself, there was no better location possible in Ghent, in my opinion!
Julie N — Google review
Located in the heart of Ghent. My room was basic, but nice, and very clean. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The staff was very gentle and ready to help. Good wifi. Would be great to have a larger TV.
Effie M — Google review
Great location! You walk right into the center of everything. However, noise was a pain. We heard the person above us drag their chair across the floor each day, and the person next to us in the shower. The TV has limited local channels.
A D — Google review
It is a good hotel but the most annoying thing is that there is nothing in the room. Even a mini fridge if you want to put some drinks! I would say you pay more for the location which is at the end you see a very small window looking to the cathedral.

We had a lovely stay at Ibis Gent St Baafs Kathedral. The location is very convenient, you can walk everywhere and take the tram easily. It’s adjacent to a nice shopping street, in the middle of historic buildings and is surrounded by various cafes and restaurants. Our room was small (perhaps because it was a corner room) but comfortable enough and was very quiet. I recommend this hotel without hesitation if you are visiting Gent.

Hotel Harmony is an upscale boutique hotel located in the historic Patershol district of Ghent, offering stunning views of the old town and River Leie. Housed in a beautifully restored 19th-century townhouse, it seamlessly blends original historic features with modern design. The hotel boasts a cozy bar, outdoor pool, terrace, and serves breakfast with river views.
🏩 One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at - harmonious indeed! 📍A very charming boutique hotel right by the river, unbeatable location The attention from the whole team was stellar from prior to the stay and during. Very professional and welcoming, much appreciated especially as a solo traveller. Stylishly decorated and elegant hotel with different buildings. My room 140 on then fourth ;) floor had amazing views of the river and main "towers" of Ghent. The view was simply stunning! 🛌🏻 The room itself was luxurious and modern - massive bed, two types of pillows for your comfort, modern lights, tea and coffee facilities, complimentary water, complimentary slippers, safe, big TV and more. The bathroom was also super modern not to mention the "massage" toilet. 🍳 Breakfast was delightful, again one of the best in terms of quality and variety. Cured meats and cheeses, salmon tzatziki, pancake maker, cereal, muesli, flapjack, loads of fruit and healthy options, nice juices and more. You can order a main made-to-order and the omelette was absolutely divine! Had such a harmonious stay in beautiful Ghent!

This is a great hotel! Lovely location on the canal but in the noisiest part of the centre. Walking distance to all the attractions and right by the hop on hop off water tram and near the regular tram stops. Even the Cosy Double room was spacious, with seating and a lovely big bed with choice of pillows. Breakfast is excellent, high quality very fresh food. Fruit infused water and pastries available every day. Good sustainability policies; they plant a tree if you agree to forgo housekeeping. Staff very helpful and friendly, you can buy a Gent City Card from Reception - recommended if you’re going to all the sites. I really recommend this hotel!

Absolutely LOVED my hotel. Just spent a week here and everything from my room (and its view of the canal), to the service, to the location was PERFECT. The hotel does not have a restaurant but it does serve a full breakfast with lots of options and there are dozens of restaurants close by (within a 5-minute walk).

I stayed at Hotel Harmony with my wife and daughter for one night. The hotel was lovely, the staff were friendly and helpful and the room (a family room with a mezzanine) was pretty special. The hotel is in a great location for exploring the city. Breakfast was reasonably good. I would recommend this hotel to people visiting Ghent.
David B — Google review
We stayed only one night and booked the luxury double room with a shower. It was a very pleasant experience from start to finish. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the hotel looks beautiful and clean. The breakfast was the best experience ever; too many delicious options to choose from and so fresh, good coffee, and, again, friendly staff. The room was fully equipped, including coffee and tea (extra pillows, ironing supplies, soap, shampoo, fridge for a mini bar etc.), and if you forgot something, you can contact reception for assistance. A separate toilet area in the bathroom was perfect. If I return to Ghent, I would definitely stay at this hotel again. General tip: use a parking garage just outside the old city center. It's only a short walk to the hotel and much cheaper.

This recreational park with a pretty pond has simple huts that are available for rent (from 41 euros per night) and is perfect for camping if you're looking for a quiet location in the heart of Ghent. The park also has a bus stop at the end of the road that will take you into town, and it's well looked after so you'll have no problems finding what you need while you're there.
Surprisingly large park area with calmer treelined corners as well as more popular central swimming pond area catering to older children and adults. Ideal for families with young children is the toddler pond nearby. Both ponds have large clean sandy beaches. The wooded area away from the pond has a second large children's playground. Nice extra: wooden little gnome houses are hidden here and there between the trees to entertain children during a relaxing stroll. Entire area also excellent for running and cycling. Cafeteria at swimming pond has a decent menu and food quality. Nice eating and lounge area. Clean toilets. Wheelchair accessible. Lounge music was nice and not too loud, making for a very relaxing experience. Large car parking comes cheap at only €3.5 for a day. Recommended for a day out!
Nick M — Google review
Great park around a man made lake/pond. Ideal for running/jogging, outdoor swimming, SUP or diving. Not so good for windsurfing as there are too many trees cutting off the wind. A bit too crowdy in summer. Has a shallow part specially created for people with small children.
Jose B — Google review
We stopped here for one night in June, just as the office was closing, I did mention this in an email, but luckily we go there just in time. Put our tents up no problem, where we al crashed out. Site seemed quite ok, for the money. Ghent was delightful in the morning, offering quite an array of things to do, from eating breakfast to touring some of the city.
Matt S — Google review
Stayed here 3 times now and enjoyed everyone. The plots are big and hedged off. Can get power if needed. It was €40 a night for 4 in a van and a tent. The shower facilities and great. Nice hot showers in a cubicle that actually has shelves and seats. Washing up was fine, not the hottest water. Well looked after area. Gated now so no one can just wander in with a vehicle. Free bus now at the end of the road into town. It is by a main road so there is a bit of road noise if tenting. Great place to camp for a trip into marvellous Ghent.
Richmouland — Google review
Good campsite with excellent public transportation link into Ghent. Showers are brilliant and hot. No push button in the shower. Toilets and shower block are clean. Pitches are a good size and flat. Rabbits running around as i speak. You will need a long lead of at least 30m. Its in a nice spot with lots of trees. Its Sunday and the surrounding areas are very busy with people enjoying there Sunday. I would have given 5 stars except its not that secure. I seen people just walk out through the trees separating the campsite from the road adjacent the tennis courts. Would definitely recommend this campsite if wanting to vist Ghent
Michael M — Google review
Being the sole camping site in Ghent you cannot complaint, but in this occasion you cannot complaint because of the quality/services . The staff is kind and helpful, the camping is very well look after, staff working all the time in gardening and cleaning. Very well organized. Plenty of showers and clean. A bust stop opposite to the camping entrance that will bring you to the town center, or you can use the cycle lane which is a better option IMO. The office will give you all the information you need. Highly recommended.
Vicente G — Google review
Good facilities and value. Buy a Gent pass from the tourist information centre in town. (20 cycle). For 30 euros you can use public transport for two days of your choice, (bus 83 direct from site) , and visit all the main attractions for free for 48 hours from the first visit you make. The hop on hop off water bus, weekends April to October, 90 minutes complete ride, normally 12 euros, is exceptionally good and a very good way to get a feel for the town.

Really nice campsite. We were there just before they closed for the winter. Easy trip on the bus into town. Friendly reception staff. Restaurant available in the season. Warm, clean bathrooms. Grass sites with some hard standing so you don't get stuck. Elec and water at each site. About 7 euros a night. Nice walks.Open 28/3 to 8/11.

This was my favorite hotel on our trip. Spacious rooms, close to public transit, and their breakfast was fantastic (I’m the kind of person who will trek across a city for a great breakfast but this one was delightful for any restaurant, not just measured against hotels).

We spent 3 nights at Hotel Carlton, in Ghent. Although an old building, like most in this city, we had an excellent stay. We were warmly greeted by the staff and offered a map and guide of the city. Our room was very spacious with a comfortable bed. There was a fridge, water, coffee/tea maker in our room. This hotel had an amazing breakfast. Each morning we had fresh, organic fruits (8-10 different types). Along with the beautiful pastries and cold cut/cheese, we ordered eggs with bacon, fried cherry tomatoes, potatoes and mini pancakes. €20 for a breakfast buffet AND hot foods from the menu. Highly recommend this boutique hotel in Ghent!

The location was PEFECT. We traveled by train, and it was such a short walk with all our luggage. Then it was also perfect for visiting the main attractions either with the tram or on foot. The breakfast was truly fantastic and so well presented and fresh. The room was so spacious it felt like we were in heaven.
Francois J — Google review
The hotel was very welcoming and the receptionist spent time to highlight on the map where the attractions were, which was most helpful. The room was light, airy and air conditioned. The decor was excellent and the room was very clean. The room had tea and coffee making facilities and a mini bar [extra charge for drinks from the mini bar]. Overall I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel especially if arrival or departure by train.
Nigel J — Google review
We loved our stay at hotel Carlton. They have a small parking garage or ample street parking. The location is close to the tram for the city or the train station (1.5 blocks) to go to other cities. The breakfast is well worth it and I would recommend a city card as you get to time the tram for free to the city center. The staff was friendly and room was clean. Great place to stay for several days. There are reastuarants and ice cream shops close too if you don't want to head to the city center.
Michele V — Google review
We only spent one night, but we had a pleasant stay. The room was really spacious and with even two televisions! We had a shower, a bath-tub and a super fancy (japanese style) toilet. In the room you could find thee, coffee and drinks. There was also a game and some tools for exercises. Our room had a little balcony, with nice views of Ghent. We did appreciate the use of keys instead of cards to enter the room. There is a parking for cars just next to the hotel, and the train station is 15 to 20 min walking. We reached the city center by walking in around 25 to 30 min. But there is also possibility to go with a tram, that stops close by to the hotel.

Clean, spacious & friendly staff. Tasty breakfast. Oh yeah during our stay 33 Celsius outside so the ac was life saving ;)

Patershol is a charming neighborhood in Ghent, known for its old-world houses and winding cobbled streets that exude a medieval atmosphere. The area is popular among university students and art enthusiasts who frequent the pint-size cafes and arty corners, especially during weekends. It's situated near significant landmarks like St. Nicholas church, St. Bavo Cathedral, and the vibrant Vlaanderenstraat with its cutting-edge design shops.
Patershol is a charming, historic neighborhood with narrow, cobblestone streets and old-world charm. It’s a great area to explore, with plenty of cozy restaurants, cafes, and unique shops. The medieval atmosphere makes it feel like you’re stepping back in time, yet it’s full of life and energy. Great spot for city picture.

Hostel
Located in the heart of Ghent's historic center, 13 O'Clock Hostel offers simple dorms and private rooms with kitchenettes. The hostel is a popular choice for travelers due to its proximity to attractions like the Sint-Baafskathedraal and the Gentse Belfort. Guests appreciate the clean rooms and well-equipped kitchenettes, although some mention that certain details could be improved.
A clean, cheap, affordable and secure hostel. Offers late check out, individual rooms with en suites and towels. Centrally located but not too noisy. The staff do police their no loud noise at night policy too which is encouraging.
Patrick G — Google review
Great value! With clean rooms and well equipped kitchen, the hostel is located at walking distance to most of Gent's attractions and city center. One elevator only, which is also used by the staff to service the rooms. If you're not fit to use the stairs, you might have to wait quite a bit!
Thifane A — Google review
central & clean & renovated look. Not exactly an hostel but rather an apartment type of place. There is no common area, only ensuite rooms. Big disadvantage is beds were poor quality & uncomfortable/squeaky. There is a construction site just next to it and you hear conversations. No breakfast possible at this place, but there are nice places in 50meters. Car parking available next to it for 18euros/ a day
Gök Ö — Google review
Double room, quite narrow, but enough. It has a kitchen with coffee machine and all you need to prepare something easy. Toilet is just ok, very simple. Only problem was that our bed was a bit broken, and the had repaired it with some wood slats from other. Price is not cheap for a hostel, but in that city...
Adrián S — Google review
For a hostel this place is pretty goid. It's not really what I expected. I requested double room and was booked into a room with a double bed NOT two singles pushed together. I have a kitchenette. It's basic but functional. I would recommend this place. It's fairly central although a fair distance from the station. That being said, transport in Ghent is very good.
David H — Google review
It looks just like the pictures. Altho when you walk in the room it does have a strange smell. The walls are incredibly thin, you can hear everything from next door. It doesn't really have a hostel vibe because there is no common areas so not some where you book if you want to meet others. Positives - good location. Walking distance to all major attractions. It was also clean, comfy bed. There is a little fridge and small cooking facilities and kettle but no tea.
Mya — Google review
Very nice hostel with a good location! Little apartment rooms with a kitchen part and private bathroom. There's some details that could be better, like hooks for towels in the bathroom and pots for the stove top but for the price paid it has all the comfort you could ask for! I recommend.
Louise J — Google review
The location of the hostel right in the city's historic centre is excellent. The staff was friendly and the room was big. They don't clean the room during the stay and it was overall a bit on the dirty side (e. g. dust, stains on doors, dead mosquitoes). There's no breakfast offered but there's cafés and a bakery ("Panos") nearby. The building is new but already showing signs of bad workmanship. I'd give 3.5 stars.

Erasmus Hotel Restaurant is a charming 16th-century townhouse located in the heart of Gent's historic center. The hotel offers low-key accommodations with an old-world vibe, featuring antique furnishings and a courtyard garden. Guests can enjoy a pleasant atmosphere and comfortable rooms, each uniquely decorated to complement the historic ambience. The hotel provides free breakfast with fresh fruits and friendly staff who are happy to recommend nearby restaurants.
Very nice hotel, in the ancient way :) People really gently, quiet and superbreakfast! Clean and comfortable. There is no elevator, only stairs. The bathroom needs to be improved, with a larger shower hose and the addition of curtains
Jesús M — Google review
We got a good price but there were a few elements of our stay that could have been improved. I wouldn't recommend for Americans - The shower was your classic older short European shower, which can be workable but this one was also missing enough paneling to prevent water from splashing out. The tiles were also painted white with some standard paint that was peeling and the caulking needed to be redone. Linens: Since the shower splashes, we asked for new towels since they were used to dry off the floor. They only gave us one towel back, which was tricky because by the time we realized it, the staff had gone, and we were stuck. - Bed was very stiff, and there were only 2 small pillows available with linens
Melissa H — Google review
Great traditional hotel. Not fancy or super modern but just a relaxing experience. Staff were wonderful and breakfast was great. Very quiet street but close to shopping and restaurants. Don't let the exterior fool you.
Robert W — Google review
Perfect location, just 3-min walk from the city center. It has an old-times vibe, even with it's room, furniture, all the antique stuff (clock and paintings) contributes to it. We really enjoyed our stay there, comfortable rooms, great breakfast and super sweet staff. However, if you are looking for a conventional hotel with 24/7 reception, open main doors, common lounge area, then it is not a place for you. But if you enjoy old-time vibe, especially this close to city center, then it's perfect.
Meenakshi — Google review
Unbeatable location for access to the main areas. Good accessibility for the trams. Bathroom could do with an update but the size of the bedroom was lovely and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good
Carmel C — Google review
Great old traditional hotel which is only about a four minute walk from the best parts of town. The room is huge and they clean it every day, which is becoming rare nowadays. Breakfast is great, with croissants, rolls, bread, cereal, juice, tea, coffee and custom made eggs (scrambled, etc,). Downsides are weak Internet at times and the fact the hotel is kind of old, but I found the staff and location to be fantastic. It’s not a modern hotel like back in the US, but an old, traditional hotel full of character and has great service.

Hotel The Lord in Ghent is a laid-back accommodation option with unfussy rooms, a bar, and a sauna. It's conveniently located near the train station, making it easily accessible for travelers. Guests have praised the cleanliness and organization of the hotel, as well as the accommodating owner who provided excellent service. The rooms are spacious and feature nice bathrooms with walk-in showers. Additionally, there is a common lounge area and a terrace with great views.
The rooms are really big, with a nice walk-in hot shower. You also get a quite big tv, with (In my room) a nice view of the beautiful train station. The host is very kind, and is always there to help if there are any problems. There was also a really nice terrace with a great view! For the price, this is definitely recommended!
Emiel V — Google review
Unfortunately I had a very bad night there. There was a lot of noise coming from next door, some kind of party until after 4am on a Monday night (!) (I assume from the next door building since inside the hotel corridors it was quiet). And it was so full of mosquitos even though I had the windows closed the whole time. Cannot recommend this place.
Lis C — Google review
The place is fine, does the job. Rooms have no air con and stuffy even in Spring, if one opens the windows the trains every fifteen minutes or so are indeed audible.
Son V — Google review
At first glance, the place looks nice compared to the surrounding buildings. The staff was friendly and helpful. As soon as we entered the room, however, it became clear it was a lot closer to the station than expected, as the tracks were visible from the window. The lack of airconditiong forces you to keep the small windows open, allowing the many nightly trains to join the chorus of mosquitoes. Needless to say, the night was rough and short. On the bright side of things, the room was clean and the bathroom was very decent. I would only recommend this place as a last resort.
Joas A — Google review
- Welcoming: Definitely warm welcoming to everyone and full support on new comers and visiters to the city. - Location: Big plus to be near to the train station. - Rooms: Greatly structured and have more than enough comfort for the host. - Overall view: Dedinitely everyone could go without any hesitation.

Stayed for a night, because I reached ghent late and couldn't check into my university accommodation...its very quaint and has this vintage feel to it, I absolutely loved it. Stairs are a bit steep, you may need help with your luggage. But the room was divine, and the breakfast the next day was delicious

We booked a room and confirmed by phone everything was in order. Then just before our booked date the room was cancelled due to 'overbooking' by Hotel The Lord. Due to the short notice period we had no change of booking anything else (all hotels were fully booked), so we had to completely change our travel plans.

Michaëla and Erik are marvelous people. They were very friendly and we could have long talks. Their house is fantastic and the room with Vietnamese decoration very comfortable. The homemade breakfast with different kind of Belgian cheeses, daily breads, fruit jams, fruits, cereals, thees was superb. We realy enjoyed our stay in Michaëla and Erik house. Definately we recommend their bed and breakfast.

The best place we've stayed in recent memory, or maybe ever. I never write online reviews, but this place deserves it! The host is warm, welcoming and gracious, the room and bed were wonderful, and we spent our mornings eating fresh breads with homemade jams at a large breakfast table full of other interesting people! The location is just far enough from the center to be peaceful, but still close enough for a quick walk almost anywhere, and the price for all this was very reasonable. If this is the kind of B&B experience you're looking for (and why wouldn't it be!?), stay here.
Shimsham S — Google review
The best B&B we have ever been! Michaela and her family are super attentive and sweet. A beautiful house, decorated in worldly style. The rooms are large and clean. We slept perfect, dark in the morning, not too hot. Soft beds, a place to sit, and attached shower. We loved the pool, we were lucky to have nice weather. Breakfast was abundant, good coffee! The city center is a 5 min walk, but quiet in the night. We even parked for free closed by. This is a top 10 location for the city of Gent for anybody visiting. We had a great time and are definitely coming back!
Shorty E — Google review
A handsome four-storey historic property, lovingly restored and filled with books, artifacts and other personal touches. We got a very warm welcome from Michaëla and Erik. The breakfast was sensational: the communal table piled high with high-quality breads, cheeses and other goodies, several of them homemade. The windows blocked out the noise from the street. Kiosko just over the road was fun for drinks and Michaëla has a list of great places to eat.
Marijn M — Google review
We spent a wonderful weekend at Michaëla‘s place and enjoyed our few days in Ghent very much. From the lavish homemade breakfast buffet with freshly baked goods, the quiet backyard with an a pool to the interior design of the house, our expectations were completely exceeted! Michaëla and her family kindly showed us around, recommended us restaurants and places to go in the city and were happy to chat about anything and everything. There is nothing left to wish for, it was top notch. We felt welcomed all the time and would be more than happy to come back. Best wishes, Jens, Franka and Clara

This is a b&b located in a historic town house, and it's beautiful. The rooms are large, with high ceilings, clean, airy, ours having a view of the swimming pool (which is kept warm all year round so you can take a dip in it whenever you like). Michaela is an excellent host, and a lovely person. When we come to Gent again, we will stay here again.

The accommodation in Big sleep was a complete surprise for me, as the townhouse has been renovated with an artistic sense of preserving old pieces of furniture and modern elements. I sincerely recommend staying at Bigsleep, as the city center is within walking distance, the hosts are extremely hospitable with a rich breakfast full of imagination and homemade jams :), and you won't believe it, they have a Zen pool in their backyard. A morning swim was the perfect entry to a new day full of dancing and singing at the Out of the Toolbox festival in Ghent, such a beautiful place of culture and grace. Grateful, Ljoba Jenče, Slovenia

(Translated by Google) Ghent is and remains a beautiful city, because of or despite the local festivities. Whether you're there during the Ghent Festivities or on a weekday, the city always has something special. That mix of old buildings, charming squares, water everywhere, and that relaxed, creative atmosphere – you'll immediately feel at ease. Even when it's busy, Ghent remains charming. And if you've never visited the city: definitely put it on your list. Enjoy getting lost in the alleyways, have a beer by the water, visit a museum, or simply people-watch on a terrace. Kouter is a lively square in the heart of Gent, known for its vibrant flower market that takes place daily and expands into a larger plant market on Sundays. This tradition dates back to the 18th century, earning Kouter the nickname "the garden of all Gentenaars.
