Mirador del Balcón, perched atop the towering sea cliffs known as the 'Dragon's Tail,' offers a breathtaking view of Gran Canaria. The viewpoint is easily accessible with a small car park and steps leading to the balcony. From this vantage point, visitors can admire the stunning coastal cliffs and enjoy front-row seats to spectacular sunsets.
Quite nice view on the rocks. The road further is closed, there is a small parking nearby, so there will be some spot for You for sure. It is good to see, but do not get only for this one from the other sode of the island.
Otishone — Google review
Well worth the drive, weren't fortunate with a perfect sunset but still lovely. Take care on the drive, particularly after dark in the way home. The roads are a challenge but enjoyable. As mentioned in many reviews it is windy so be careful of your possessions. Enjoy
Adam M — Google review
Great platform for an amazing view. It wasnt too crowded on midday and we were able to have the place to ourselves for a few minutes to take lots of pictures. Also enough parking spaces and the road up here is interesting. A must visit in Gran Canaria.
Spela K — Google review
Incredible views!! We went on a Sunday afternoon and luckily were only a few people so we fully enjoyed this lovely viewpoint. Would visit it again. There wasn’t so much parking space though, so I see how that could be a problem.
Flóra M — Google review
It's a place with a breathtaking view, I recommend coming here at sunset to combine the incredible view with the colors of the sunset. It's a relatively small space, and if there are a lot of people, you might have to wait a bit before taking a photo, but it's worth it! We were even lucky enough to see Teide in the background!
Greta M — Google review
This is one of the best Miradors in Gran Canaria. Even though the road leading here is a little long and the last miles are not that great it's 100% worth it! Make sure you visit on a weekday because at the top there's a very small parking lot (10-12 cars) tops and most time it will be full of rentals. But my god what a view! It's a heaver if you are into photography because it's so high above the sea! If you are lucky enough not to visit when it's foggy it's absolutely spectacular!
Mircea C — Google review
The view was spectacular! The parking space is quite limited but we visited during the week, so there was enough space for us to stop by. At first, it was foggy and nothing could be seen, but after a few minutes everything cleared up and the view was revealed
Diana D — Google review
Just spectacular! One of few places on the island with amazing views! Also if you drive there from Las Palmas make sure you take the windy mountain route with breathtaking ocean views all the way there

Tejeda, a picturesque village in Spain, is renowned for its stunning location and traditional white houses. Perched at an altitude of 1050 meters, it offers breathtaking views of Roque Nublo and Roque Bentayga. This charming village is often referred to as an "almond town" due to the abundance of almond trees that adorn the area, creating a mesmerizing sight during the blossoming season from February to March.

Pico de las Nieves, the highest peak in Gran Canaria at 1,949 meters above sea level, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the island and beyond. On clear days, visitors can even see neighboring islands like Tenerife and the imposing Mount Teide. The challenging hike to the summit attracts adventurers seeking to conquer this iconic peak. A drive leading close to the top provides a scenic journey with stunning viewpoints along the way.
Incredible peace of nature, recommend coming for the sunrise time. Just beautiful, silent and majestic with the sun coming up, morning temperature was +4 as of December 2024. Recommend getting warmer for the first 2-3 hours at the top, many hike ways
Lukas G — Google review
Highly recommend spot, in clear weather you can see the neighbour islands. The rock formations are extremely beautiful, the military area you should leave alone 🤣 of course drones are not welcome. Good shoes are needed if you leave the recommended path. Sunset over the clouds are also beautiful, however the spot is popular so you need plenty of time to find the limited parking.
Cloud R — Google review
Beautiful place. Easily accessible. Parking is 2 minutes from the summit. But you still need to be careful and watch your steps!

Pico de las Nieves offers breathtaking views from the highest point of Gran Canaria. It’s the perfect spot for hikers, nature lovers, or anyone seeking panoramic vistas of the island. On a clear day, you can see all the way to the coast and across the island’s rugged interior. The drive up is scenic, with winding roads and plenty of opportunities to stop for photos. Once at the top, the views are absolutely worth it. There’s a small observation area, and the surrounding landscape is stunning, with rocky peaks and lush greenery. It’s a great spot to take in the island’s natural beauty and escape the crowds. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy the outdoors and want to experience a different side of Gran Canaria.
Patrik K — Google review
Beautiful view. However, very crowded. If you can only visit one, I would recommend Roque Nublo.
Isabel C — Google review
Stunning top of Gran Canaria - if you hire a car be aware the drive up is very scary lots of hairpins and steep roads
James O — Google review
Pico de las Nieves is truly spectacular, the highest point in Gran Canaria and absolutely worth the trip. From the top, the views are breathtaking: rolling mountains, deep ravines, and, on clear days, even the silhouette of Mount Teide on the neighboring island of Tenerife. The scenery is dramatic and peaceful at the same time, with clouds sometimes drifting below your feet. It’s a great place to pause, take photos, and simply soak in the beauty of the island from above. Whether you drive up or include it as part of a hike, Pico de las Nieves is a must-see for anyone visiting Gran Canaria.

Roque Nublo, located in the municipality of Tejeda, is a remarkable 67-meter tall volcanic crag that stands at an elevation of 1,813 meters above sea level. It is considered one of the largest natural crags globally and was declared a national park in 1987. The area offers various trails for hiking, with options ranging from a short 1.
Magnificent walk through the forest hills to get to the top. Approximately 30 min walk filled with endless beautiful panoramic views. So glad we did it. Definitely recommend it.
Karol P — Google review
A wonderful place and fantastic views and panoramas. The road to the top is also amazing and enchanting with its beauty. The only big minus is the lack of parking spaces. This complicates the excursion and leads to stressful situations. If you want to park your car near the parking lot near the cliff, I recommend you arrive early in the morning.
Natalia U — Google review
We took a hike from the parking to the Roque Nublo (around 5 km hike). The route was quite good and well marked. Remember to reserve the time slot (it is free of a charge) as they are checking this before the entrance. There is also no parking anymore nearby the roque, so You need to take the bus ( it is driving couple of times per day) or a hike. We took the bus in our way back to the parking, it is 1 stop (around 10 minutes, costs 1,4€). We liked the place, You can go around the rock and seat nearby to rest or eat something, there is a little bit of shade as well.
Otishone — Google review
Nice place. Sadly, weren’t directly at the Roque Nublo, because we didn’t know you have to book your time frame in advance. BE AWARE OF THIS! I think it’s not well known yet. The parking palaces were closed on Sunday, so it was very difficult to find a place to park next to the road. You can do a nice walk in the surroundings as well, and you can see the Roque Nublo from there.
Annamária M — Google review
If you don't have a car, you can use the bus number 18 if you're are traveling from Playa de Ingles area. The buses don't run often and the route there with the bus is not the best. We had prebooked our trail time but arrived 1 hour and 30 minutes early, and thankfully they let us enter 1 hour earlier. There is absolutely nothing around there which I would have thought there would be a coffee shop or a Souvenir store but there is only a small van selling a few local things and that's it. So if you'll have to wait for your time time good luck with that 😆 The hike itself is not too hard. It's moderate level due to some steep climbing if you go all the way to the top. It took us about an hour to climb up (with a few stops for pictures) and 30 minutes to go down. Bring lots of water and if you're not in a rush you can sit down and enjoy the view with a few snacks. The climb is worth it, the views are amazing!! 😍😍 Overall, it's a once in a lifetime check point and even though i hated the bus journey it was worth it.
Monica I — Google review
Beautiful spot, BUT you need to visit official website in advance. Of course you can't access the spot if there's a risk of wildfire. So read instructions carefully and follow them. There're nice picnic area next to the spot (maybe 1 kilometre away)
Angela O — Google review
Beautiful scenery, and also recommended to visit the beautiful sunset from Roque Nublo. After the sun has gone down, and the sky is clear, and the moon not too bright, you can see the milky way! And the amount of stars is crazy. Most of the light pollution from the ground is blocked by the clouds, creating a truely unique sight. It is a bit chilly, make sure to bring warm clothes and nice foods
Pascal — Google review
They say you need a reservation for a specific time if you enter through the main Mirador de la Goleta entrance. I didn’t know that because I came in through the forest from the Aparcamiento Cruz de Juan Pérez parking lot — marked “SOLO VEHÍCULOS AUTORIZADOS” (authorized vehicles only). I parked on the roadside where there were dozens of cars, even though there were yellow lines. The hike up took me about 45 minutes, and coming down was around 25. The views are beautiful, and from there you can even see the nearby island of Tenerife. If you enjoy easy hikes, this one is really for everyone — it’s not difficult at all.

Mirador Astronómico de la Degollada de las Yeguas is a popular lookout point located in an expansive nature reserve on the western edge of the Macizo de Amurga in Gran Canaria. It offers sweeping views of the Fataga Gorge, showcasing volcanic traces and typical semi-desert flora such as balsamic spurge and Canary spurge. The area also features original flora including Canary Island palm trees and the rare Canary Island dragon tree.
This place was incredible. We drove there it was very scenic. This route is very popular for cyclists, so it made driving (on the wrong side of the road 😃) a little more daunting. However, I would imagine the cyclists feel the same way. The road surface conditions and safety barriers throughout the route were second to none.
Rachel T — Google review
If youre going to the centre of the island to visit Roque Nublo and the surrounding area from the south, Id definitely recommend this route that passes this mirador. There's plenty of space and parking lots to stop here and the view is amazing. The road after this miradors meanders down into the valley, its well worth the scenic drive (personally even more beautiful than GC-200 on the west).
Spela K — Google review
I stopped here on the way from Maspalomas to Pico de las Nieves. I love these curvy mountain roads, but I really hate holiday drivers who don’t use GPS and slow down everyone because they don’t know where they want to go. The view is nice, but you stop here just for a few minutes. Maybe grab a snack, take a photo, and continue your trip.
J. K — Google review
A viewpoint with a lot of view :). Nicely made with parking spots, benches . In my opinion its the nicest spot on that whole road.
Oliviu S — Google review
Great views a top the mountain road passage Plenty of parking spots and a generous viewing platform to take in the vista

Nestled in the heart of southern Gran Canaria, Mirador Astronómico de la Degollada de las Yeguas is a stunning viewpoint that blends dramatic landscapes with an exceptional spot for stargazing. Why It’s Worth the Stop: 🌄 Jaw-Dropping Views – The viewpoint overlooks a vast, arid canyon that stretches all the way toward the southern coast. It’s a surprising and sudden shift from the nearby lush palm groves and coastal resorts, giving you a sense of the island’s wild, volcanic heart. 🌌 Designed for Stargazing – This isn’t just a daytime stop. As the name suggests, the site is also set up for astronomy. It’s far from light pollution and includes signs and orientation markers to help visitors identify constellations and planets. Bring a telescope or binoculars for an even more immersive experience. 🚗 Easy Access – Located right along GC-60, it's a convenient stop whether you're heading from Maspalomas to the central mountains or doing a scenic loop. There’s a small parking area right next to the viewpoint, and no hiking is required. 🧘‍♀️ Peaceful Atmosphere – Despite being roadside, it’s a calm, quiet place. At sunset or early morning, you may find yourself completely alone with the landscape and the wind. 📷 Photographer’s Paradise – The combination of rugged cliffs, shifting light, and deep canyons makes for some fantastic photo opportunities—both day and night. Good to Know: There are no facilities on site (no toilets or shops), so bring water and anything you might need. Best visited at sunset or after dark for a full experience—especially if you're into astrophotography. Can get windy and cooler, especially after sundown, so bring a jacket.
Mirela O — Google review
It was a beautifull experience! I hope you feeling better now! Thank you!

Mirador Degollada de Becerra is a stunning viewpoint located between the municipalities of Vega de San Mateo and Tejeda in Gran Canaria. Positioned on the site of an ancient volcano, it offers breathtaking views of the Tejeda basin, with rugged rocks creating a striking contrast against the blue Canarian sky.
Alas, our visit was a bit hazy and misty so the views weren't epic but it was still good enough to take in the iconic stacks. There was a bit of work going on (Nov 24) to the car park edge, maybe a new path ? I'm not sure. There's also a great little shop here selling a bit of everything. The owners were nice honest people.

Definately worth the stop if sight seeing
Somewhere E — Google review
The area was under construction when we visited so the view was partly obstructed. The weather was exceptionally well and we could see both rock formations and also saw the Tenerife's peak sticking above the clouds

Nice viewpoint and convenient parking for a wonderful short hike (5km roundtrip) direction Corral de los Juncos with stunning views of the ravine and Roque Nublo surrounded by pine forest and mountain air.

Beautiful lookout with a view to Teide of Tenerife which is more than 100 km away
David K — Google review
It's probably the most beautiful viewpoint of the island during the sunset. The valley with its cliffs looks wild, and the majestic Mount Teide on the horizon pictures the landscape even more dramatic! Definitely worth every kilometre up and down the serpentine roads!

Las Canteras Beach is a stunning urban beach in Gran Canaria, boasting 3 kilometers of golden sand and a lively esplanade filled with top-notch restaurants and bars. One of its most distinctive features is La Barra, a natural volcanic rock formation that runs parallel to the coast, protecting the majority of the beach from tides and fostering marine life. The area is perfect for snorkeling enthusiasts interested in exploring the seabed and its diverse species.
I fell in love with this beach and the entire long promenade. Early in the morning, when there are no people yet, and in the afternoon, when everything is full of life. The cafes invite you to sit down and enjoy. And the ocean is just worth looking at...
Lina G — Google review
Playa de Las Canteras is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The wide, sandy beach with a gentle slope into the ocean is perfect for long walks along the shore. A natural reef protects against waves, making swimming safe. In the evening, the promenade comes alive, with charming cafés and the sound of the waves creating a unique atmosphere. ..
Tomasz S — Google review
Beautiful beach with golden sand, calm clear water, and a lively promenade full of cafes and shops. Perfect spot to swim, relax, or watch the sunset. Loved it!
Hicham A — Google review
Super nice beach. Quiet places. Many sport activities. Toilets and showers. Directly on boulevard, terraces, etc. In the evening nice atmosphere. Clean boulevard (dogs, step, bicycle not allowed)
Rob — Google review
The beach has nice lovely sand. The sun bed is 3 euros for all day. Umbrella is also 3 euros ( visited in Sept 2025). The beach has toilets, stairs that take you to the toilets and indoor showers. It also has outdoor showers. Both were clean. The shore is not abrupt and there are no stones. However, there were some algae. All in all worth the price and the visit, but there is no bar on the actual beach. Only bars, cafes, restaurants above the beach overlooking the ocean. The water is not transparent like in Greece. All in all nice ocean view, but not amazing.
Catalina — Google review
Beach and sea are clean and beautiful. Two sunbeds with umbrella cost about €9, but prices for Swiss visitors often jump by 50%. Unfortunately, little is invested in the facilities – compared to the Bagni on the Adriatic, clearly weaker.
Y L — Google review
Maybe one of the most iconic beaches on Gran Canaria! But definitely worth visiting! A few km long but very clean, sand is perfect, plenty of space to place your own beach towel, or you can rent a sunbed and umbrella! Amazing promenade, you could walk for hours and discover all amazing restaurants along the beach! Amazing views of the Ocean as well!

Bandama Caldera, located in Gran Canaria, is a remarkable natural wonder formed around 5,000 years ago by a powerful volcanic eruption. This circular crater spans about 1 kilometer in width and plunges over 200 meters deep. Visitors can embark on an off-the-beaten-path adventure by hiking along the rim to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and Las Palmas city.
Visiting the Caldera de Bandama is more than just a scenic walk—it's a journey to clear your mind and reconnect with nature. Whether you're an avid hiker or simply looking for a peaceful spot to reflect, Bandama will surprise and refresh you. A Peaceful Connection with Nature. !!!The trail around the Caldera de Bandama is quite rocky and can get slippery, especially when you're descending or climbing.!!!
Teodora F — Google review
A dramatic volcanic crater not far from Las Palmas. Caldera de Bandama is around 1 km wide and 200 metres deep. You can walk along the rim for panoramic views or take the steeper path down into the crater for a closer look at the terrain. The rim trail is the easier option, uneven in parts, but manageable with decent shoes. The descent into the crater is tougher and best avoided in midday heat. There’s a small viewing platform nearby (Mirador de Bandama), and you can drive right up to it. Good spot for photos and learning a bit of local geology.
Patrik K — Google review
Be sure to add this location to a list when planning a sightseeing of island's mountains. It's not a caldera, it is explosion site, which makes it even more exciting to see and photos does not convey the massiveness of the place.
Stanislav T — Google review
Fantastic views! There is a point where the volcano meets the green tundra that we loved; at the opposite part of the walking start.
Paco P — Google review
Great walk..Not easy all the way around but absolut well worth the effort. You get some great view point for taking pictures or just enjoy the view. And looking into the volcano crater is just fascinating. Don´t worry it´s about 2000 years ago since it last erupted.
Mette M — Google review
Very nice route for a trip, beautiful views and lots of spots where you can sit and enjoy the views!
Nina W — Google review
It is easy to get down and really tough to get all the way back up again. It starts off with a pathway but quickly it disappears. Be careful when it's raining as it can be slippery. As there is an old wine vineyard/distillery there it makes me think how they managed to get all the wine up haha. They do have a information board explaining the house there but not that part. There are so many pretty flowers, green trees and other interesting plants. If you can I'd recommend a trip down to see everything there. Do explore most of it! Unfortunately there are so many people carving names into the great tree there, such a shame to see.

Dunas de Maspalomas is a 998-acre arid coastal nature reserve featuring desert-like sand dunes. Classified as a Protected Natural Site in 1944, these golden sand mountains extend for almost six kilometers and can reach heights of almost 25 meters. Despite being a popular location, the area offers incredible scenery and tranquility. It's recommended to visit at sunrise for a quieter and peaceful experience due to its popularity among tourists.
Pretty easy access on foot, a bit of a struggle to find parking. Breathtaking views, especially at sunset. Walking barefoot is an amazing experience, and a MUST! Great ice cream near by. Good destination for a family trip or just by yourself.

The Maspalomas Dunes are definitely a must see when visiting Gran Canaria. The landscape is unique and gives you the feeling of being in a desert right next to the ocean. Sunset is probably the best time to visit, as the light and colors over the dunes are stunning, but it is also worth experiencing during the day. Walking across the dunes down to the beach is a great activity and allows you to enjoy both the views and the natural surroundings. It’s a good idea to bring water and comfortable shoes, as the sand can get hot and the walk can be longer than expected.

One of the most unique spots on the island. Suitable for all age groups. Breathtaking sunset views from the dune ridges. Sunset (in October) was between 6 and 7 Highly recommend taking a stroll down the beach to the light house. The sun sets right behind it with spectacular views

Amazing place... Other wolrly dunes , behind a long beach.. . There's a mix of naturist and clothed visitors, but nobody seems to care and it works well.. you could wonder for hours either clothed or not.. .. the dunes themselves are quite difficult to walk through, especially when it's hot, so make sure you take plenty of water...
Jamie T — Google review
Incredibly beautiful but beware if you go w a tour. We were given just 10-15 min and that's not even enough to go to the toilet as there is only one female cubicle for the public loo. There are no souvenir shops and many ppl are illegally running around the dunes, which is irritating. Go when its overcast otherwise this is too hot and only one cafe to sit down. No parking. There is literally nothing to buy or enjoy here other than to walk the three designated routes.
L J — Google review
A challenging walk throughout the warm sandy hills. Worth walking along the beach which can be much easier and approx 3miles stretch. However, be aware as will come across a nudist section which is right in the middle of the beach. During a windy time sand is everywhere and big waves 🌊 in presence.
H A — Google review
This is a beautiful protected area. It really did surprise me how large the area is. It was a shame to see the human ‘effect’ of tampering on some of the dunes with hand written names - it did take away from the experience. There are signs that suggest you shouldn’t walk along the dune tops to preserve the dunes, from the beachside however you can access the dunes and be respectable to the areas by walking alongside the dunes rather than over them.
Danielle A — Google review
A small desert on an island — such an amazing place! There are several beaches nearby and plenty of spots to eat or grab a quick snack, something for every taste. The sunsets and sunrises are absolutely beautiful. If you go on a sunny day, especially when the sun is high, make sure to wear something on your feet so the sand doesn’t burn, cover your head, and take some water with you!

Nestled beside Morro de la Agujereada, the highest peak on the island at 1956 meters above sea level, Pico de los Pozos viewpoint offers an awe-inspiring panorama that stretches across much of Gran Canaria and even includes a glimpse of neighboring Tenerife. This picturesque spot is surrounded by a lush pine forest, which was planted in the mid-20th century to help restore the island's flora and fauna amidst increasing development.
Well the view wasn't a view, as I was in a wet cloud. Arrived in my beach wear, it was a bit cold but that didn't stop me taking in the atmosphere. Man in a van selling hot choclate and bananas. Well worth the effort, great views on the journey there. Avoid fat vehicles as the road can be narrow. I did it in a Hyundai 110, it made it with some struggles, 180 degree bends up to the mountain. Good roads, but edgy!

Spectacular 360 degrees view of the amazing landscape. Good thing is that you can drive almost to the top and then walk a minute or two up to the viewing area. There was also a food van if you needed lunch or snacks. Very lusciously green terrain surprisingly different to the dry and brown south side of the island and is UNESCO bisohere reserve. Must see place if you decide to hire a car in Gran Canaria.
T M — Google review
You can drive all the way to the end, right up to the food truck. From there, just head up the stairs, and in about 30 seconds you’ll reach a spot with a 360-degree view of the entire island. The view is beautiful and totally worth it. If you’ve got a car and you’re crossing the island, take the mountain road and make a quick stop here — you won’t regret it.

We had an unforgettable experience at the Pico de los Pozos viewpoint! The breathtaking views truly feel like a connection between heaven and earth. You can sense a universal energy in the air that makes the whole place magical. Watching the sunset here is a must—it’s absolutely stunning! And if you're lucky enough to catch the full moon rising, it's an experience you'll never forget. This spot is perfect for anyone looking to connect with nature and enjoy some of the most incredible scenery Gran Canaria has to offer. 5 stars all the way!!!

A small lookout from which you can see Roque Nublo. Local vendors take quite a bit of space of the parking lot. You can climb a little bit higher on the rock on the left but the view isnt much better than what you can see from the parking lot. Still worth visiting for a couple of minutes if you're in the area, but I wouldnt say its anything really special.

Historical landmark
Roque Nublo, located in the Nublo Rural Park of Gran Canaria, is a remarkable natural monument with a distinct shape that rises over 260 feet above sea level. It offers breathtaking panoramic views and is the third-highest point on the island. Visitors can embark on a sunset hike to witness magical views from Pozo de las Nieves, El Roque Nublo, Roque Bentayga, and La Degollada de Becerra.
Definitely one of the most fascinating sights on Gran canaria! Note: a booking is required in advance (free on their website), also you can't park directly at the hiking area, a parking lot is a few km away. A bus transfer is organised to the start of the hike, which costs 1,4€ one way. The walk towards the rocks is rather short, yet quite uphill, so proper shoes are recommended. The entire hike takes around 1,5h both ways, if you take some time at the top.
Miha P — Google review
You need to prebook a free slot to visit (between hours of 9-17), but the spaces dont fill up that fast, we booked 2 days before for a Saturday visit and there was even more availability during the week, so you can still be flexible with the schedule. But you absolutely must coordinate with the bus schedule since it only drives about once an hour or less and there's no parking options at the trailhead (old parking lot is closed). You can enter the trail an hour before or half an hour after your time slot but the bus schedule doesnt really allow for any such flexibility. Id also suggest to go a bit earlier as the road to the area is very winding and lots of cars are afraid to drive faster than 20-30 km/h, which can definitely delay your arrival. We parked at Cruz de los Llanos which is the closest bus stop/parking. Bus ticket is 1.40€ each way, you can pay cash or card. We took the bus at 12:00, and the bus back at 14:00 and it was perfect timing. The hike to the top platform took us about 30 mins with short stops, I'd say it's easy to moderate difficulty. There's some shade on the trail when it pases through the forest but not much at the top, only around the rocks. The view at the top is amazing and it's not too busy due to the limited entry. I just wish the parking situation was better and less inconvenient (free shuttle with more frequency or parking closer to the trailhead would improve this), but the hike itself is definitely worth doing.
Spela K — Google review
Beautiful hike up in the mountains of Gran Canaria. Be aware that the parking is about 5km from entrance but there are buses every hour from one place to the other. Also, there is a free permit you need to get before you can enter the natural park. Overall great with amazing views of Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
Isabel C — Google review
Stunning. I am speachless. We were here in beautifull weather in may and i loved the hike and the views. Be aware that there is some entrance reservation until 16:00? ( i forgot the hour) You can not get to the park before. So either try to reserve online or plan later visit. Also we did not undestand the parking policy but looks like they are building a parking lot near the entrance. Bring water with you.
Michaela B — Google review
Love this place! We hiked from the official car park. It took us 2-3 hours with breaks. The hike is not for beginners or people who get out of breath fast. Its steep and rocky. But its a nice sporty activity.
Letti S — Google review
Reading negative views is a pure entertainment! I came on a bus 18 and no ticket is required before 10.00 or after 17.00 (check the website if it changes). So take a bus people and plan accordingly. The hike is 1,5 km changing the altitude of 200 m. Wear good shoes, dress accordingly. It can be very windy up there, as it’s the third highest peak in Gran Canaria. It takes about 1,5 hours if you enjoy the views on top. The guy who controls the entrance is polite and helpful, so be polite and helpful and you will receive the same. Just because you are on holiday it doesn’t mean it’s ok to be rude. Stop by the food truck and get coffee, sandwich or fresh squeezed orange juice. Then plan accordingly and hike around more or hop back on the bus. An excellent day spent.
EM — Google review
Fabulous hike... Outstanding views from the top of the world. There is no parking close by and if you're there between 9am and 5pm you need to make an online reservation (it is free and for conservation purposes). We parked at Llanos de la Pez, the whole hike there and back took 2.5 hours. Take water and sunscreen. This is physically demanding.
Lynsey P — Google review
Excellent quick hike experience with the nice view. ~1.5+ km from the top road. We are experienced not pro Norwegian hikers (100+ hikes including Besseggen, TrollTunga etc.). Trail is built up (not wild trail), sometimes washed out by the water but generally ok. We went in sandals with small kid and one small bottle of water and it was ok. It took time to get here by the car from the bottom (Mas Palomas) but you can combine it with Finca Canarias Aloe Vera experience on the way. Road is narrow and you should watch all the time right rear mirror to keep car as close to the road line as possible. Parking was the issue as existing one opposite the entrance was closed, the only close place was place with 3 spots on the last U turn behind the road line.

Caldera de Bandama in Gran Canaria is a stunning volcanic landscape that offers a glimpse into the Earth's ancient history. The lush crater, formed around the time of the Pico de Bandama volcano, boasts rich soil that was once used for farming by early settlers. Visitors can explore paths leading to the bottom of the caldera and hike around its rim, enjoying panoramic views of northeast Gran Canaria. The hike includes some steep sections and uneven terrain, so caution is advised.
Amazing hiking area was suggested to us by some locals. The view from the top is beautiful and when you walk down is really unique , a bit hot though so don't forget your watter bottle. In the crater there are some houses that show that a family used to live there. I recommend also to do the hike around the crater because it gives you the opportunity for more picturesque landscapes. Would do it again

The view from the top of the volcano is very spectacular and there's a feeling that ships are sailing in the sky, not in the ocean. Worth a ride place. But don't drink coffee in the local cafe, it's not very tasty. Otherwise place is cool even for those, who don't like mountains.

Scenic volcanic caldera with paths leading all the way down to the bottom, if you have the time (and energy). The paths near the top are properly stone paved (if a bit uneven), but as you get towards the viewing area half way down the side it becomes more of a dirt track. There also seemed to be hiking paths around the rim, but I didn't have time to fully explore the area. Maybe next time... Make sure to climb the neighbouring peak while you're there, which gives spectacular views across the east side of the island as well as down into the caldera.

The site was created to store harvests, providing protection from animals, storms, and theft. With its historical significance, it was declared a Cultural Interest Site in 1974.

Quite the uphill drive, but definitely worth it. The history of the place is well documented throughout the climb, and the views are stunning. The staff were really nice as well! The parking spots are very few (around 7).

The Cenobio de Valerón is a truly impressive archaeological site in Gran Canaria. Carved into the rock, these ancient grain storage caves offer a unique window into the lives of the island’s early inhabitants. The site is well preserved and set against a stunning natural backdrop. With the €5 entrance ticket, you also gain access to a nearby museum, definitely worth visiting! The museum is just a short drive away and includes a guided tour that provides an excellent overview of the island’s history and culture. The explanations were engaging and informative, helping to connect the dots between the various archaeological sites across Gran Canaria. During our visit, we even came across a small "robber fly", harmless as long as it’s left alone, but a fun reminder that we’re on an exotic island after all! Highly recommended for anyone interested in history, archaeology, or just looking to experience something different while exploring Gran Canaria.
Robean W — Google review
Drive to the location might be a bit challenging due to it being in a mountain. But once there, there’s some parking and a little hut to buy tickets and nicknacks. Few steps to reach the location. Location is a bit short and small, not much to do but good for pics. Not wheelchair friendly.

Absolutely breathtaking. For me it was a must see, and it was absolutely worth it. The views are stunning and the ruin is just beautiful. There's lots of information about the guanches and how they lived. Staff was also friendly and it wasn't busy at all. If you're tired of all the tourist trappy places on gran Canaria, I definitely recommend going here. You won't fill up an entire day here but it's 100% worth it to take a look.

Los Azulejos De Veneguera, also known as Rainbow Rocks, is a must-visit spot in Gran Canaria. The route to this geological wonder starts near a juice stand where you can grab a refreshing drink before heading out. While the cafeteria may have limited hours, there are tables and seating areas to enjoy your beverage with stunning views. The colorful rock formations make for an amazing photo opportunity from various angles.
Another great place to visit. There's a hiking trail to the top of the hill but it's better if you do it with a experience guide as it's not an official trail. Lovely views and you can clearly see the colours of the different types of rocks there. Free access. There is some parking around but sometimes you will have to park on the side of the road if busy. No toilets available.
Ivo M — Google review
You will be amazed by the different colors of soft rock. If you look carefully, you will find hiking trails in this area, but even a short climb is breathtaking. You may encounter yellow, orange, purple, and green rocks. The great thing is that there is also a bus service here in the mountains, so if you don't have a car, you can take the bus from the village of Playa de Mogan to the colored rocks.
W. V — Google review
You can park at the shop and walk backwards by the side of the road. There isnt that much traffic that you couldnt get a picture from any angle you wanted. There were some people climbing the rocks, but we saw no point in doing that. Much better to walk a bit further out for better view and appreciate this colorful and amazing rock formation.
Spela K — Google review
Los Azulejos de Veneguera is one of those unexpected roadside stops that’s worth your time. The rock formations are naturally coloured by minerals, creating vivid layers of green, blue, yellow, and pink. It looks almost artificia, like the cliffs were painted by hand—but it's all natural geology. You’ll find it along the GC-200 between Mogán and La Aldea. There’s a small parking area and a bar across the road where you can grab a drink or bite to eat. You don’t need to hike, just step out, take in the view, and snap a few photos. It’s not a major attraction with facilities or signage, but that’s part of the charm. A short, visual stop that breaks up the drive nicely and gives you a sense of the island’s volcanic diversity. If you’re already heading this way, definitely pull over.
Patrik K — Google review
Easy drive to get up there, it's worth the view! There is place for about 10 cars to park next to the road and it's not so busy.

A very beautiful natural phenomenon that you definitely should see when you're on Gran Canaria. The colours will pop out even more after soms rain but even without it's definitely worth your while. Tucked away along the GC-65 mountain road, Mirador El Guriete offers a peaceful and picturesque stop with sweeping views over the island's rugged interior. While less known than other viewpoints, it’s absolutely worth the detour. What Makes It Special: 🌄 Panoramic Mountain Views – From El Guriete, you get a wide-angle look at the dramatic canyons, terraced hillsides, and the village of Santa Lucía far below. It’s especially striking in the late afternoon light, when the contours of the landscape become more pronounced. 🛣️ Easy and Accessible – The viewpoint is located just off the main road, with a small parking area nearby. No hiking is needed – just park, step out, and enjoy the scenery. 🧘 Quiet and Undisturbed – Unlike more popular miradors, this one is often completely empty, offering a tranquil moment to pause and take in the grandeur of nature without crowds or noise. 📷 Great for Photography – Whether you're using a DSLR or just your phone, the depth of the valleys and play of light and shadow create memorable shots. Good to Know: There are no facilities (no toilets, no food stalls), so it’s a short-stop kind of place unless you’re there for photos or a quiet break. Windy conditions are common – bring a jacket if you’re stopping during cooler months or around sunset. A perfect addition to a day trip through Santa Lucía de Tirajana or en route to Pico de las Nieves.

Perched on a cliff in Gran Canaria, the Gloria Palace Royal Hotel & Spa offers breathtaking ocean views and a luxurious experience. The hotel features an impressive infinity pool with panoramic views of the beach and sea, as well as two outdoor pools for both adults and children. Families can enjoy various activities together, including a kids club, children's pool, playground, and even designated hours for kids to access the spa's warm pools.
The hotel is really nice. It’s clean. Staff is extremely kind and helpful. The hotel is located on a mountain. It has very nice infinity pool with salt water. The restaurant offers a wide variety of food-everyone will find something good for themselves . As I mentioned earlier, the hotel is on the mountain and to get to the beach, you need to walk approx. 7 minutes. If you are walking with your flip flops on, be careful on the public pavement as it is very slippery. The beach is one of the most beautiful on Gran Canaria. The only disadvantage I found with regards to the hotel, was the street noise at night, especially at weekends. If you sleep with AC on, you obviously won’t hear it, but if you sleep with windows open, then that might be some issue. Other than that, I highly recommend staying in Floria Palace Royal hotel.

It's a great hotel and had the best food I've ever had from an all inclusive hotel. Rooms are spacious and all have balconies. Staff were a mix of very very friendly and kind to not so friendly... just depends who you get. We travelled in June and there were no fights for sun loungers. The beach is a short walk away, there is a steep incline when you are walking back to hotel. We had a pushchair for our 8 month old and found this okay to navigate. If you have mobility issues I would not reccomend this hotel. Overall it's a great option by one of the best beaches on the island for families.

I've stayed at this hotel three times and can recommend it to anyone. The hotel deserves more than four stars. Everything is top-notch, it's very clean, which is very important to me. The food is delicious, fresh, and has a wide selection. There are no extra charges if you book all-inclusive. The people who work there are wonderful, very kind. I especially want to single out Manuel, who was the heart of the hotel. The manager is lovely, the cleaners are always smiling, and the rest of the wonderful people who create wonderful memories after staying at this hotel. It's the kind of hotel you enjoy returning to, which is a testament to the fact that I've been back three times, and I never do that. I highly recommend it to everyone.

We stayed at the Gloria Palace Royal Hotel & Spa in Amadores for ten nights as a couple. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, though there were some ups and downs. Room: Our room was large with plenty of storage space for clothes and belongings. The air conditioning worked well and could be controlled conveniently by the bedside. We were placed in block 4, second last room, which unfortunately meant the "sea view" we booked was very minimal. Cleanliness was generally fine, though we did notice hair in the bathtub (which we didn’t end up using). The hotel provided nice little perks like facial exfoliating pads and shower caps, though the toiletries were combined hair/body wash—worth bringing your own conditioner if you need it. The hairdryer wasn’t very powerful, and the TV wasn’t a smart TV, so options there were limited. One downside was that housekeeping entered daily even with the “Do Not Disturb” sign on, which wasn’t ideal. Food & Dining: The all-inclusive restaurant was lovely and welcoming. Food was clearly prepared to a high standard, with lots of variety each day. While much of it wasn’t really to our personal taste, we still found plenty to eat and never went hungry. Staff in the restaurant were friendly and attentive, which made meals a pleasant part of the stay. Facilities: The pools were lovely—refreshing against the hot weather. We especially enjoyed the rooftop pool as it had a more relaxed vibe. The on-site spa looked nice; we only used it on the last day to shower before leaving, though there were no private cubicles to change after showering which was a bit inconvenient. The gym looked well-equipped with both machines and kettlebells, and being partly outdoors gave it a good atmosphere. Entertainment & Atmosphere: We didn’t participate much in the entertainment but caught a glimpse of a music quiz. Unfortunately, one negative moment was when the entertainer played a controversial singer’s song and encouraged my husband to sing along. After he politely declined, the entertainer made a comment over the microphone suggesting if you didn’t like it you should “move upstairs,” which felt unprofessional and unnecessary. Location: The hotel is built into the mountainside, which makes for great views (depending on the room), but also means a bit of a trek to and from the beach. Thankfully, there’s a lift to the ground floor that makes the walk much easier. Overall: A good hotel with spacious rooms, great pools, quality food, and a decent location. The main drawbacks were the disappointing sea view, minor cleaning issues, intrusive housekeeping, and one poor interaction with entertainment staff. Still, it offers plenty of facilities and a relaxing atmosphere if you want to enjoy Amadores.

First of all be aware that the hotel will constantly try to get you to fill out reviews which we suspect is to stop poor reviews on social media. That said the hotel is in a great location, we found the staff generally ok, a couple of the chefs in the restaurant were rude though and threw the food onto your plate. The food is not of great quality and is basic catering standard for mass produced all inclusive hotels which seems to be it's main clients. Despite the restaurant serving dinner until 9.30pm, when we arrived at 8.45pm we felt unwelcome and rushed as the staff were closing up, no drinks were offered and they were trying to set our table up for breakfast. Outside there are far to many sunbeds around the main pool area, you are literally touch the guest next to you. There is a roof terrace pool area which is much more spacious and the hotel has a very good system were you cannot reserve sunbeds with towels. The room was kept very clean by the housekeeping staff. The air-conditioning in the room was not great, on lowest setting it was only slightly colder than outside. It is a lovely hotel, it's a shame a few things let it down.

The last time I was on the island, I saw this hotel from the boat and I said I will definitely visit it in the future. After a few years, I made that decision. We toured the hotel in February through a travel agency. It was for 4 adults and we requested 2 rooms. The hotel wasn't exactly cheap in our country, so I didn't know what to expect. We have now been here a week and I can safely say that the hotel is amazing. From the room (5th floor), there is a beautiful view of the whole Amadore beach. Since the Hotel is built in a cliff, you have to take into account that it is uphill. Otherwise I have nothing to complain about, probably the only weakness is regarding the cleaning, it is a bit weak, but on the other hand, whatever you mention, it is immediately solved. I can really recommend this hotel to everyone and I calmly rate it 5/5.

We stayed in Block 2 and had the all inclusive package. The room was so spacious, powerful hair dryer provided in the bathroom, small kitchen area with a sink, fridge and glasses/cutlery etc. Balcony was gorgeous with some stunning views of Amadores beach. The cleaners are amazing! They come everyday and the place does be spotless. Hotel supplies towels at 9am at reception each morning, so no need to bring towels! There are two pool areas, one parallel to reception which has a bar too, pool is a lot smaller and slightly colder but this area has the bali sun beds, and is a lot quieter with more space between beds. Theres also a little nudist area on top of the bar. The bottom pool is massive! There are always loads of sunbeds. You cant leave your towels on beds without staying with them until 9am, they will take towels off and bags and leave them at the spa area. This is great as it stops sun bed wars. There is a life guard on duty every day, no inflatables or balls allowed in pool. Patryk is the main entertainer by the pool everyday, and he is absolutely brilliant!! His energy daily will make your holiday. He does Aqua gym/aerobics daily, plays games such as cornhole, darts tournaments, guess the drawing, has sangria making and pina colada making once a week too. The drinks from the pool bar are very strong so brace yourself! Nothing is watered down here! We preferred to stick to vodka and mixer, rather than cocktails as lots of them are pre-made and we didn't really like them. The entertainment in the evening time isn't the best, but some nights it has been good. A lot of people leave the hotel and venture into Mogan to the bars. Its a 6 min taxi drive and costs €6-€8. The food on the buffet everyday is delicious. Theres so much choice, there's vegan and vegetarian options also. Theres loads of different meats, fish, sides. Theres something for everyone. There is a Spar just across from the hotel, and on the beach there are loads of restaurants and little shops also. The Hotel is on quite a steep hill, but there is a taxi rank at the beach if needed. We would definitely come back!!!

You'll be rewarded with an impressive view of the rock and a magnificent view of the valley and all the way to Mount Teide in Tenerife. However, you should allow enough time for the journey from the parking lot to the entrance. Unfortunately, our bus was cancelled completely, so we missed our booked time slot. Luckily, the gentleman at the entrance still let us in. We returned via the hiking trail to our parking lot at Cruz de los Llanos. You should also allow enough time for this, and above all, wear good hiking boots. (Original) Die Anreise zum Roque Nublo lohnt sich wirklich. A beautiful area in Gran Canaria. Lots of restaurants to choose from, many high end designer shops. This part has clearly been well invested in and attracts large amounts of tourists. The views around are incredible. The sunset is amazing it generally feels like a welcoming and safe area. Although I stayed 15 mins from here, the hotels look incredible and I’ll look forward to visiting one perhaps next time.

Museums
Casa de Colón, located in Las Palmas, is a former governor's house that has been transformed into a museum dedicated to the voyages of Christopher Columbus and ship life. The building itself is an architectural gem, featuring ornate decorations, latticework balconies, spacious courtyards, and intricately carved wooden ceilings that showcase the island's architecture. It is believed that Columbus resided here in 1492 while one of his ships was being repaired.
Very beautiful experience. Place is well organised and almost no wait. There is a shop at the exit. You can spend around 1 hour and enjoy. There is free bathrooms. Your free to wonder around. Lots of maps and restaurants from the 1500-1600. Lots of artillery weapons. Few model ships. Multiple paintings by Spanish artists although not a big fan. Definitely a wonderful place to pass by for tourists if your into history.
Saeed M — Google review
Casa de Colon is a small, nice museum in Las Palmas, in the old town called Vegueta. The building is very pretty, with patios, wooden balconies, and parrots. The museum has displays about the travels of Christopher Columbus. You can see models of his ships, old maps, and history from the Canary Islands and America. It costs about €4 to enter, and it’s free for kids. You only need about 1 hour to visit. It’s a good place to go if you’re walking around the city and want to learn a little bit of history in a beautiful setting.
Ramona C — Google review
Nice museum, it is the house of Columbus, nice exhibitions, definetely worth the price. If you are into history is a must-see, if not, you can spend 25-30 minutes wondering. Enjoy!
Dan R — Google review
Meh the upper floor and basement are both CLOSED (they do have a sign at entrance). Almost nothing original (all nice fascimiles of originals held at other museums). The few original items are some unremarkable paintings by unknown authors. Almost no languages on any of the displays other than Spanish. The good things is entry is only 4Euro, but even at that price not really worth it and wait until the whole museum is available. For me, not able to read Spanish and with 2/3 floors closed, this was a 10 minute visit. I recommend admiring the exterior for free and wander through this beautiful section of old town instead.
Jason Z — Google review
Very interesting building. One of the ‘must-see’ museums if you are interested in historical monuments. The ground floor is dedicated to history, maps, and illustrations of the Colon’s trips. The upper floor is mostly a gallery exhibition, which has nothing to do with Sir Colon, but worth looking at. Some of the paintings are quite breathtaking.

Both the crypt and the upper part are closed (29/10/25), most long panels and maps are only in spanish no english at all, videos dont have sounds nor subtitles. Churches & Cathedrals
The Catedral Metropolitana de Santa Ana de Canarias, also known as the Santa Ana Cathedral, is a stunning Gothic cathedral located in the heart of Vegueta. Construction of this Roman Catholic cathedral began in 1500 and lasted for approximately four centuries, resulting in a mix of architectural styles including Gothic, Renaissance, and Neoclassical. The interior houses numerous notable religious artworks and is open to visitors free of charge.
Impressive inside and out. The Catedral de Santa Ana is the standout landmark in the old town. The architecture is striking, especially the front façade and the vaulted interior. It’s calm, clean, and well preserved. You can also take the lift up to the bell tower for a small fee, worth it for the views over the rooftops of Vegueta and towards the port. There’s a small museum inside too, with religious art and artefacts. It’s not huge, but definitely worth visiting if you’re in Las Palmas and want a bit of history and a break from the beach.
Patrik K — Google review
We didn't know you had to pay to visit the interior part of the church. At first we were a bit skeptical, but then we gave it a go as it wasn't expensive (€6 for adults, €4 for students or residents and under 12 free) and we sure weren't disappointed. The interior part of the church is well maintained and it looks stunning! But the view from the tower was for sure worth the climb of the stairs. There is an elevator as well but we decided to take the stairs. The view from the top looks like from a movie set and you won't be disappointed. The money is worth it 👌 i wouldn't miss the chance to visit. There is a little exhibition/museum as well. You can just pop there and buy your tickets at the door.

Beautiful old Cathedral in As Palmas. Peaceful spot to explore and gather your thoughts. Can also access the roof via a lift and then climb the tower for even better views of the city and harbour. There is also an attached museum and at the time of our visit there was an additional exhibition. Would recommend.

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Santa Ana, also known as Catedral de Canarias, is a stunning architectural and historical landmark located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands. 🏛️It was the first church built in the Canary Islands, symbolizing the establishment of Christianity in the archipelago. • The cathedral was the only one in the Canaries until 1819, when another diocese was created in Tenerife. 🎨 The cathedral showcases a blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Neoclassical styles, reflecting its long construction period and multiple renovations. Inside, you’ll find columns shaped like palm trees, a nod to the island’s flora. Located in the Vegueta neighborhood, it’s surrounded by other historic sites like the Casa de Colón (Columbus House). Entrance for a small fee ( 6€ adults , 4€ students or residents and under 12 or disable free ). The interior part of the church is well maintained. The beautiful view from the tower was for sure worth the climb of the stairs🔝 There is an elevator as well but we decided to take the stairs ( only 163 stairs). We were accommodated right in front of the cathedral✅ Visited September 2025

So glad we visited this beautiful church it’s filled with so much rich history, and the area around it is absolutely gorgeous. There’s a small entry fee, but it’s worth it since you get to explore the grounds, walk through the museum, and even head up the tower for breathtaking views of the city. You can also light a candle with a donation, which makes the visit feel even more special. When you exit the church and take a left, there’s an amazing tapas restaurant I highly recommend. Not too far from there, you’ll also find Christopher Columbus’s house, where he once stayed. The walk itself is a treat the streets are lined with vibrant-colored buildings and lush plants throughout. Truly a must-see!

Parque de Santa Catalina is a historic and vibrant seafront park in Gran Canaria. The park features a children's playground, spacious esplanade with bars and cafes overlooking gardens, and hosts the renowned Elder Museum. This lively area is also home to big stores like El Corte Ingles.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a corner of the park decorated with mosaics featuring the flags of different countries—a lovely detail! However, the experience was slightly affected by the noticeable smell of urine in that area and the lack of cleanliness. Many pet owners seem to neglect cleaning up after their animals, which is quite disappointing. Aside from that, the park itself is nice and offers a good place to relax.

Doramas Park is a 47,800 square meter park located in Ciudad Jardin on the northwest side of Gran Canaria. It features fountains, waterfalls, and native plants such as dragons, figs, and palm trees. The park commemorates the events in 1481 when Doramas challenged the Spaniards to single combat.

Such a beautiful and tranquil park, it is a huge recommendation for a nice stroll through a very nice kept garden/park. They seems to take very good care of all the areas and there are many different trees, flower and plants. The park is beautiful in the day but in the night when the lights are turned out it becomes even magical. It's a nice place to rest a bit while being in the city of Las Palmas without really leaving the city.
Phillip H — Google review
No monitored or free to access public toilets or drinking fountains. The park is Security patrolled and kept relatively clean for the visitor numbers. Great park to let the kids run around except on weekends and especially Sundays when public service is very light. Sadly on our last visit we discovered humans had used the cave area for toilet and toilet paper waste. We also saw rats climbing in a few of the trees in the daytime. Water quality in fountains is an organic waste mess with little oxygen and almost zero for native species. We did see a painted head turtle (not native species) which was cute. There is lovely flora and fauna. Nice for a stop when out for a city hike or bike as it is full of shade and there is usually a nice breeze. Wind however can bring other smells of human and animal waste and these smells can be overwhelming. A little open air cafe is located in the lower part and this does have toilet facilities if open. This Parque Doramas is part of a larger system of parks and trails dotting up and along the hillside connecting the lower neighborhoods by the upper neighborhoods. At the moment bike connections up / down the hillsides limited to sidewalks along car streets. Walking / hiking trails are nicely placed away from the car noise no signage to find hiking / bike path information though. The Secret Garden Trail is found 200m to the left (South) when looking uphill after a short walk through the urban core past the giant Social Security office or above along the Paseo Chil street that runs North - South with large sidewalks and bicycle trail. Directly above brings you to a lovely viewing area beside the church at the top of the hill and further towards the North along Paseo Chil street from Park Doramas you can reach the Plaza Mesa y Lopez and connect to Playa Las Canteras (top ten beach in the world) midway along its 3 km + stretch of sand and volcanic rock cliffs. Definitely worth a stop to Park Doramas. If your hungry you can splurge and dine at the newly renovated 5 star Parque Santa Catalina Hotel directly under Park Doramas and sharing its Eastern border. Enjoy. Sounds of the city disappear for the most part here and you can catch quite a few bird sounds and lizards sightings if lucky. Saw a turtle sunning on the rocks in the pond by the waterfalls too :)

Most wonderful park in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to go for a walk, to relax, enjoy flowers, small animals, and nature in the city. They take care a lot, it is clean. There is a small "cafetería" and the hotel Santa Catalina is next to it, where I would recommend to go and see it, and you can drink something there too (it is expensive but a high quality one)

Playa del Confital is a clothing-optional beach located in the southeastern part of Gran Canaria, near Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It is known for its golden sand and is popular among nudists. The beach offers stunning views of Las Palmas and has waves suitable for surfing and bodyboarding. Situated at the end of the beautiful Las Canteras beach, Playa del Confital can be accessed on foot via a wooden walkway along the sea from La Isleta peninsula.
Very nice beach. Beautiful pedestrian path for long walks near the sea. Also, you can access by car till car park. For an alternative path, you can walk in the hills. Beautiful view once you get to the top. Through this neighborhood you can also access an abandoned military area.
Muge B — Google review
Sadly here at this beach the city fails to employ lifeguards, maintain and keep open public toilets, remove graffiti and generally attempt to police the behavior of the few crazies that roam regularly here. Otherwise it is lovely to look at and relax near until you begin to witness where the locals do their business when the toilets are locked! Nearest available and open public toilets 5km South on Las Canteras Beach. Wow what a waste of repairs. No parks service either. They make Roque Nublo pay to enter to control waste. Here is most likely their next for profit adventures and the creep of private beaches under guise of "natural". All they needed to do was repeat Las Canteras success. Instead they dump millions of taxpayers dollars towards improvements, maintain the failures that keep sane crowds away and prepare the space for private for profit takeover. Very sad and probably a parking lot pretend campsite soon too. What a waste of good space and nice improvement. Needs lifeguards and public toilets, showers like Las Canteras. Bonus would be clean drinking water fountains. The food truck at the entrance does not have toilets either. One of the drinkers patronizing the food truck is going to fall in the ocean next time they descend the cliffs to do their waste removal behind the palm tree on the cliff side. Pleasure yacht spotted at time of visit steering through what is supposed to be the protected marine reserves of these waters? Maybe they were studying or monitoring the great poop patch off the shore that forms from the waste pipes and run off that have still not been upgraded or controlled.

Good place to see and go for a walk. I wood not go here in sunny day though because of no shade.

If you are looking for a sand beach with all the city beaches' facilities this isn't it. This is a rather wild area with spectacular colour and views as the sun go down. Bring some good shoes and explore the seaside , settle in one of the many natural pools and enjoy.
Romain S — Google review
I highly encourage a walk to this wild cape if you want to momentarily escape the crowds. It takes only about half an hour from Las Canteras, but it feels like you have travelled much farther. The view onto Las Palmas is stunning.

Very beautiful place to have a walk, the water is very clear. Unfortunately, the WC next to the red cross was closed, probably because it's Sunday today. I saw many white popcorn-shaped objects on the beach. Would be appreciated if anyone could let me know what they are ;)

Sand is unpleasant. Rocky entrance to water. Dead crabs. Infrastructure is bad, only one toilet, no changing rooms, but there is an elevated wooden path. Nudist area is not separated at all from the main walk. Creepy heremit with barking dog lives in a runied hut.

El Bufadero de La Garita in Gran Canaria is a fascinating coastal spot located in the Telde municipality. It features basalt cliffs, volcanic tubes, and a natural pool that occasionally shoots water like a geyser due to tides and waves pushing through the rocks. The area offers a scenic walking path along the coast with opportunities to observe lizards and enjoy views of colorful local houses on the hillside.
Such a beautiful sight but it was extremely windy when we went so don’t wear a hat hahah. Highly recommend visiting.

The whale spout of water is very difficult to predict. Very neat when it happens. We were there for about an hour and it maybe occured 7 times on a large scale. Depends on the tides and time. Signage for the area is limited as is viewing of the area if you are mobility impaired etc as it does require crossing some dangerous spots if you want an up close look and listen. Area and walking path have been significantly upgraded and cleaned since the last time we came to make witness. Nearest public toilets that may be open are 30 min walk towards the beach of La Garrita to the North or the beach of Pozo to south.
Hello H — Google review
There's a large parking lot right next to it and the hole is easily reachable on the beach, you can get quite close to it. The water has an amazing shade of blue, its best to visit during the high tide. There's also a smaller hole right on the left of it with an even more dramatic effect. Also pay attention to the crabs on the rock, some are quite massive and a beautiful red color.

The auditorium features a symphonic hall with a breathtaking view of the ocean, providing an unforgettable experience for audiences attending world-class orchestra performances.

A striking building at the end of Las Canteras beach, the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium combines great acoustics with bold architecture. It’s worth visiting even if you’re not attending a concert, just for the view of the waves crashing behind the glass stage wall. Inside, the main hall is modern and comfortable, with strong sound quality. The programming includes classical music, jazz, and local events. Staff are professional and the venue is well run. The outside terrace is a good spot to sit, and the surrounding area has restaurants, the beach, and walking paths.

Cactualdea Park is Europe's largest cactus park, featuring over 1,000 species of cacti from around the world. This family-run attraction is a bit off the beaten track but well worth the visit. The park offers a desert-like paradise for wandering and taking Instagrammable pictures of various cacti. Visitors can enjoy exploring the hillside location with plenty of paths to discover the plants, as well as clean facilities, a souvenir shop, and even a wine cellar.
Amazing cactus park - perfect also to have kids admiri g the variety of plants and size they reach here. Another highlight are the animals you can feed while strolling through the parc. Also recommend a break at the cafe bar - delicious fresh juices and dish of the day, including hammock to chill.

10000% worth it. The park is absolutely stunning with beautiful cacti everywhere. The staff was also really friendly and it's a pretty big place. The only tip I could give this place is to maybe put the names of the plant species a bit closer and clearer to the plant they're supposed to show, since it was often quite hard to figure out which plant was Which. Other than that, definitely worth a visit!

We visited Cactualdea Park, a beautiful place filled with stunning cacti and so much positive energy. It was truly a unique and pleasant experience, surrounded by nature’s beauty. After our walk, we stopped at the restaurant where we were warmly welcomed by Mrs. Mariana. She is an extraordinary person who made us feel completely at home with her kindness and hospitality. Everything was perfect, and we left with wonderful memories. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a special and authentic experience! 🌵✨

I am so glad we stopped by here! Plenty of parking, easy to find and not busy at all at midday. It doesnt look like much when youre first entering and walking around the building part which looks like a lot of empty spaces and bars, but then you walk outside and theres a cacti jungle! Not the greatest variety but such a lush and abundant collection. The space is huge and you can walk around the place for a long time to see everything. There's also free roaming peacocks, chickens and a donkey. Remember to use sunscreen cause there is alot of walking in the sun. All in all, one of the prettiest and biggest cactus gardens we've been to.

Jardín de la Marquesa is a charming botanical garden situated northwest of town on the road to Banaderos. Owned by the Marquesa de Arucas, this lovely garden features exotic trees and plants, as well as peacocks roaming freely. Visitors can also find a bar and a villa for events within the premises. The garden offers a peaceful retreat with its ever-blooming flora and serene atmosphere, making it an ideal place for leisurely walks and contemplation.
The garden by itself was breathtaking but with the flock of peacocks it was out of this world. I can’t recommend this enough. The staff were lovely and kind. But be aware of the peacock droppings on the ground.
Paula J — Google review
Magnificent! The variety of flowers, trees, and cacti is truly impressive. The garden is beautifully maintained, and everywhere you look there’s something unique to see. Peacocks wander freely through the park, adding a charming and colorful touch to the experience. The historic house in the middle of the garden makes it feel even more special. It’s a peaceful place to stroll, admire exotic plants, and enjoy nature. Definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that there was no option to get food or drinks in the park. So make sure to bring your own

Really nice botanical garden, few minutes away from the city by car. The walking road is kind of bad, if you have proper shoes you can try it. There are plenty of parking spaces. The cost is rather small (6 Euro - Oct 25), but we have seen better maintained parks. I think the whole idea is to leave it a bit more wild. Lots of peacocks and roosters, they did not bother us. I think around 30-40 minutes are ideal to wander. You get a map after you pay the ticket. Clean toilet. Enjoy!

Agaete Piscina Natural is a series of calm saltwater pools nestled among rugged natural rock walls, shielding them from the crashing waves, making it a popular spot for windsurfing. These crystal clear pools are formed from volcanic rock and offer a tranquil place to swim and sunbathe. The stunning sunset views over the ocean make it an ideal way to end the day after enjoying a dip in these inviting pools.
Phenomenal. Most enjoyable season pools I've ever been in with the most stunning views. Beer tent sells refreshing lager or lager and lemon for 2 euros a cup. There are bathrooms, change rooms and cool tide pools for small and big kids to explore. Caution for when the tide is high for pools closest to the surf
Allison W — Google review
A beautiful natural swimming pool in Agaete, set against volcanic rocks with clear, calm water. It’s a perfect spot to swim, relax, and enjoy the stunning coastal scenery. The pool is well-maintained and offers a peaceful alternative to the more crowded beaches. There are no major facilities here, but it’s an ideal place to escape the hustle. The surrounding area is also perfect for a walk, and you’ll often find locals taking a dip. Not great for small children due to the rocky areas, but for adults or anyone wanting to enjoy a quieter, more natural swimming experience, it’s a hidden gem.
Patrik K — Google review
Such an interesting place to see how ocean carved some natural poles into the rocks. Also the view, with mountains in the background is just stunning. Unfortunately it was a little bit crowded. Don’t forget to bring some rubber sandals for feet protection, the soil is very rocky.
Radu H — Google review
The pool is beautiful, you can spend the whole day there when the weather is good. Also there is a canteen to buy beer, soft drinks, ice-cream... but when the weather is good for swimming in Agaete there are too many people 🫨🤯
Lenka S — Google review
The best public natural swimming pool on the entire island. We had a wonderful time here; it is safely constructed, yet you still feel like you are swimming in the Atlantic Ocean. There is also a small tunnel under the rocks that leads to another pool. As you swim peacefully, you will see all kinds of small colorful fish around you. There are also red crabs. It can be quite windy by the ocean, and the route there is well marked on Google Maps. You have to follow the road from the roundabout as directed, but the road is full of rocks and potholes. So drive carefully. Parking is easy, and the trip is definitely worth it!
W. V — Google review
Beautiful place to swim even when the sea is rough, you can safely swim here. You can also buy very good sandwiches at the local foodbar on the beach, the tuna and breaded chicken tasted amazing. The water is quite warm compared to the sea, because it is quite shallow. You can also find a lot of different marine life in the natural pools such as crabs, crayfish, fish, etc. Because its very windy there usually, make sure you can secure your stuff when you’re taking a swim. Otherwise everything will blow away 😂
Pascal — Google review
Such a beautiful experience. The pools are quite well-kept, but the most exciting thing about these pools is the stunning view that they offer. Worth visiting. Crab sighting is also fun!

Iglesia de San Matias, also known as Saint Mathews Church, is a remarkable architectural gem located in the well-preserved town center of Artenara. Built in 1870 on Plaza San Matias, this church stands out with its impressive dimensions and beautiful design. The interior is adorned with stunning wall paintings by the renowned Gran Canaria artist Jose Arencibia Gil. Despite its simple exterior, the church's interior reveals a captivating ambiance when illuminated.

Iglesia de San Matías (Saint Mathew´s Church) was erected A.D 1870 on the main square called Plaza San Matias. Pueblo Artenara is not a big city, but the church's dimensions are impressive. Beautiful architecture. Two high towers. Separate belfry tower and separate clock tower. It's a rarity due to the general cost of the church building in 1870. The Church owes its interior charm to the famous Gran Canaria artist painter señor José Arencibia Gil (1914-1968). In January 2015, inside the Church, beautiful and large windows stained-glass piqued my interest. I recommend a glimpse inside.

(Translated by Google) I have visited many churches, but this is the first time I have seen a wooden ceiling like this. Churches in the Netherlands and France sometimes have wooden plank ceilings, but this church's ceiling is lined with panels that give it a handmade feel. The panels on the doors and walls are made of wood and depict scenes from Bible stories, and the fact that they are roughly made is very nice and tasteful. Although the church is small, the pillars are well placed and it looks spacious. The exterior has a strong presence, as if a large church has been carefully built in a small town. There were many places nearby where you could park for free on the street. There is a coffee shop in front of the church where you can eat, but it seems to open in the afternoon.

Very nice, short hike (2 km). Short but impressive. I would start at the small house and pass along the main road. Like this the highlight literally will be high (we even didn't realise that we went so high up!). At the very beginning, there is a corner to sit on the left. Absolutely beautiful place to hike/walk in the mountains. Scenery is breath-taking and we hardly saw anyone. Gorgeous mountain pine forests and trails. The climb to the top where we went up is very steep but well worth it. We took a picnic with us and sat down on the pine needle floor to have our lunch and it was so peaceful and wonderful in the shade with the sun shining through the trees. One of the best places on Gran Canaria for wonderful scenery in my opinion. The drive to the area also has amazing views but some of the road bends were a bit scary so drive cautiously. When it is dry and there are pine needles on the forest floor the slopes descending can be slippery so certainly we found hiking poles useful.

Wonderful place with interesting plants and countryside views. I recommend to visit one of the restaurants in the port "Puerto de las Nieves". They will offer you a great selection of fresh fish. Agaete is a port town with beautiful modern architecture.

Breathtaking views when you drive up the road. You can walk through rocky paths to Charco azur waterfall.
