Really nice funky place to have brunch. We had a variety of food for brunch. Eggs Benedict without the bacon or salmon, so basically an Eggs Florentine. They replaced this with mushrooms and avocado. And it banged! Was very nice. We also had an Egg bagel, again without the meat and with mushrooms and avocado. Again it was really nice. Nutella waffle was a hit with our eldest boy, he loved it. French toast was a hit with the kids as it contained different types of fruits. The coffee was really nice and tasted soooo good that I have two Lattes. The homemade cookies were soooo good. The service was brilliant from the waitresses. Would probably go back again.

Their menu for brunch and lunch is AMAZING! Had only an iced latte with a cookie but wow cookie was so good! Really soft inside just melting in your mouth. Coffee was very good quality!!! Would definitely recommend

coffee is incredible. strong and bitter, flat white was perfect. the nutella pancakes were actually too good—i am talking perfect amount of fruit and the slightly melted nutella sauce was delicious. the pancakes themself were so soft and fluffy and tasted amazing.

Excellent tapas restaurant in Maspalomas that isn't a tourist trap. Very moderately priced given the high quality of food. We went a la carte but they also had a well priced 2 course Platos del dia. Come here for tapas that are unusual and off the beaten track.

Very nice foods in a tidy/clean setting. Price might be marginally high but overall it doesn’t stop us. Maintaining same great staff along with high standards for many years.

Good food and good vegan options. A cosy cafe in a small passage, which makes a comfortable mood. The pankake we has was wonderful with peanut sauce and pieces of banana. The toast I took was also delicious with bacon, cheese and vegetables.

This is such a wonderful place, set near the old town. The food is freshly made for you, so if your expecting a quick service, just worth noting you may have to wait, but it will definitely be worth the wait! The seating area is set outside, the staff are amazing, very friendly. They serve brunch until 12.30, the it's the lunch menu. It has a really good choice of vegetarian food. In terms of price, it works out at around 10 euro each which in my opinion is fair.

We stopped at a cafe during our trip from Las Palmas via Santa Luciá de Tirajana to Maspalomas. The ambiance of the surrounding area is downright magical so we had 1 x espresso, 1 x cappuccino and two cakes. The service was amazing if only because, with almost zero knowledge of Spanish, we tried to communicate as best we could and were rewarded with a kind and warm smile and understanding. I'm sorry to admit that the instant coffee and cappuccino powder tasted infinitely better than the brown liquids they prepared for us. And that's what I rate very low indeed. The cakes were considerably sweet and quite dense and heavy, but maybe that's how the locals really prepare them, so it's not for me to judge.

When you are hungry the sandwich they make is delicious. You can get coffee and some patisserie cookies. Replenish your water and enjoy a relaxed time on the terrace outside.

Ordered eggs Benedict and a club sandwich. Got the wrong sandwich, ordered with chicken but got bacon. Ordered iced coffee which was sweetened with some syrup even though we didn’t ask for it. The eggs Benedict had a lot of chips on the top? Didn’t like that, but it was otherwise fine

Very pleased with the service and food here. It’s very friendly for kids and the menu was versatile. Plenty of great smoothies and premium quality matcha tea. I ordered the chocolate banana pancakes. They were very nice and tasted freshly made. I highly recommend if you want a light healthy lunch in town.

I would recommend Santa Catalina Hotel with my eyes closed! You really can’t go wrong with this choice. The hotel itself is stunning, and several highlights truly stood out: the pool area is absolutely gorgeous. The food and drinks are exceptional, with every detail carefully crafted to delight. And the spa, simply breathtaking, offers a truly luxurious and serene escape. If I had to mention one downside, it would be our check-in experience. The staff member who assisted us wasn’t very welcoming, she didn’t offer us a drink while we waited, and compared to other guests being greeted warmly and professionally, her attitude felt a bit rude. Disappointing Experience I visited the hotel on August 5th, 2025, with my mother, hoping to enjoy a lunch meal at one of the cafe. I had stayed here many years ago and was excited to return, especially because the building and lobby are still incredibly beautiful. The food is still quite good but the service is very slow, we were waiting almost half of hour for a simple order. Unfortunately, the overall experience was far from what I expected from a 5-star hotel. While passing through the lobby, I witnessed two staff members—what seemed to be part of management (a man in a black suit with glasses and a woman in a purple dress)—arguing loudly with upset guests right in front of everyone. Their tone was aggressive and unprofessional, which left a very negative impression. I also spoke to other guests who mentioned that the service quality has declined in recent years, which many attribute to poor management. It’s a shame because the hotel has great potential, but it’s clearly not being lived up to under the current leadership. P.S. We were not able to fly out at the start of our holiday due to an issue with a passport. We notified Santa Catalina, a Royal Hideaway Hotel as soon as we realised. Asked if we could modify our booking and fly out at a later date once resolved. This request was declined. We asked if we could use the room for the last 3 days of our 7 night booking. Which we had paid upfront for on a full board basis. This request was also declined as we discovered they had resold the room. I asked for a partial refund to cover the cost of the full board uneaten food and again this request was declined. The reason for writing this review is to make other travellers aware before booking with this hotel chain. A great business doesn't avoid problems; it's about how you respond to them: - It took 50 dials of the hotel contact number to speak to anyone who could actually help, and in the end they didn’t. - There is no flexibly when the unexpected happens. - There is no customer care. You may have our money but you’ve lost a lifetime of business.

We came here from the cruise port for a “wellness day spa” pass for the day. We did not stay in a room but what a magnificent place - the decor, exterior, spa and outdoor pool. Staff is very accommodating Pool bar for lunch was very good. As we await a long international flight, this was so perfect.

Beautiful and nice hotel. staff are nice as well. We did not have problem communicating in English with them. There is also a parking at the hotel if you have a rental car. It is limited space but it should be fine depending on the season. We would love to go back there again.

Great specialty coffee - a fruity, light roast, and among my faves on the island. Brekky servings are generous. The salsa de kimchi definitely sets the fluffy scrambled eggs apart from the norm.

Finally a real coffee! Perfectly executed flat whites, cappuccinos and macchiatos. We also had the avocado toast that is a must eat - really tasty 😋 same for the cookies and banana bread which were fresh from the oven. The owner was super nice too and gave us great advice!

Super nice hotel with perfect location right next to Plaza de Santa Ana. Staff is amazing. Rooms are large and have all amenities you could want. My daughter was sick during our stay and staff did all they could to help. Parking is a bit steep at 15€ per day, but is understandable that prices are high considering the location. Breakfast is amazing with speciality coffee included. Will definitely stay again when in Las Palmas.

We booked one night in Suites 1478 on our latest trip to Gran Canaria. We had never actually stayed in Las Palmas before. This boutique hotel was stunning and in a great location. The service was absolutely fantastic and we will certainly be returning for what we hope will be a longer stay next time. A special mention for the breakfast which was delicious.

Tucked into old town, this place is a hidden gem. Our suite was on the top floor with a rooftop patio with interesting street views. The bed is cozy with windows on three sides. The mini kitchen has an espresso machine and tea kettle. Very comfy

The small hotel was conveniently situated in the Old Town. Staff were pleasant and breakfast was acceptable. There were only 4 tables in the light atrium breakfast area. The rest of the tables were situated in a rather dark area. The room was spacious but the downfall were the lumpy, narrow, flat and uncomfortable pillows!!!

What a lovely place to stay to explore the older parts of Las Palmas. Attentive staff, clean and large suites with a lovely rooftop lounge area with a view of the cathedral. The breakfast is unbelievable & an absolute must. A true find in the heart of Las Palmas.

Vesper is a great little café with the perfect view of the beach – a lovely place to start the day. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the food was spot on. I had the eggs benedict – absolutely delicious, and they crisped the bacon to perfection. I also had a cappuccino on the side, which was really good too. It was such a great breakfast, I went back a few days later and ordered the exact same thing. Says it all, really.

We were on a mission to find an excellent margarita and we found it at Vesper ! Absolutely the best cocktail bar in Las Palmas, with an excellent selection of drinks. Giusy and Adrian are the sweetest and welcomed us with big smiles even though we had just wandered off the beach. Definitely recommend a visit.

Gutted I didn't get a photo, but I had the best vegan burger I've ever had. Genuinely not a single thing I could fault. Also had one of the best piña coladas I've ever had. It's right by the beach and there were a lot of people eyeing it up so it must be popular. The staff were lovely and not fussed at all about letting us English folk practice our Spanish on them. Great options available for veggie, gluten free and dairy free peeps.

Dined here quite a few times mostly for breakfasts and a couple of times in the evening. It is the first place you encounter when entering Europa centre from the Roundabout. Enjoyed the breakfasts, morning staff here were polite & friendly apart from one waitress that became very annoyed if we could split the bill, said her maths weren't very good and use our calculator, aske how much the items we'd had were, said she had no idea. Yet service was excellent at all other times and more friendly. Food cooked freshly to order. Nice views to enjoy whilst dining. Only bad point was a horrid foul smell from toilets. Of an evening there is a very pushy lady stood outside trying to get you inside and gets a bit annoying. Staff in the evening were not as polite or helpful. Quite abrupt when asking to split a bill, appeared quite agitated by the suggestion. I don't think they understand that not all parties dining order or spend the same. Asked one waiter what time they opened in the morning as we had a trip booked and needed to be out early, he wasn't helpful at all and said he didn't know, or rather he didn't want to know and couldn't be bothered to find out. If he didn't know then who should we ask, he worked there.

Lively showbar with plenty of mixed entertainment. We seen a fab Drag Show whilst having a nice meal. Staff are friendly. It does get quite busy here so get in early or book your table. A late bar is quite nice at times too.

Nice bar for a drink or entertainment, only visited a couple of times on our holiday. Food was a bit bland, so didn’t eat here again after the first night. We saw the blonde singer & Beatles tribute, both very good. The lady greeting customers outside was friendly but a bit too pushy every single night we walked past to come in for food, even if we said no.

Very good fish & chips at this British restaurant. We enjoyed ABBA Tribute on Tuesday. Good service.

Terrible service. TERRIBLE. In my six months living in Gran Canaria, I’ve never experienced worse. From start to finish, the staff were rude and unwelcoming. We were a group of three young people and decided to wait for a free table since the place was full. The waitress came over, rudely informed us it was FULL, and tried to make us leave. I politely said we’d wait, but she kept insisting there was no space and mentioned the outside tables were only for two people. When we saw someone leaving, we sat down. I went to place the order while my friends stayed at the table to avoid crowding. Despite this, the waitress approached them, insisted that “you order inside,” and made one of them go in, even though I was already ordering. The order arrived quickly, but as soon as we finished, the waitress immediately cleared the table and rushed us to leave. She even told other customers passing by that seats were becoming free. After we left, no one even sat at our table—it stayed empty. The man at the counter didn’t provide a receipt until I specifically asked. The prices were also outrageous—€2.50 for a simple coffee with milk. At the end, I expressed my dissatisfaction, but the staff just looked irritated. Considering it's very close to the cruise ship terminal, the prices and choice were very fair. We all had a drink and snack, and this came in at about 10 euros each. The ambience was good and service quite fast. My only gripe would be that the sauces on the patatas bravas was not very spicy.

A lovely place with excellent food and an incredibly warm and friendly team. I highly recommend trying the variety of desserts- they are unbelievable good and freshly made. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but totally worth it.

1/2 I have to update my review after the last visit August 25. Things have changed and I never thought my favourite café could GET EVEN BETTER!!! I am of course talking about my new obsession VEGAN WAFFLES with fruit and agave syrup. Light and fluffy loaded with fresh fresh fruit. I had the delicious tofu scramble on toast and the spinach smoothie himself had a mango smoothie the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. I remember the look on his face with the first bite, the look you get when you are eating the freshest of ingredients. Then I ordered the vegan waffles to be honest I was thinking I wouldn't be able to finish it... Until I tasted them. It was almost a religious experience I insisted himself try them too and he totally agreed with me. I love this place and there's a couple of new staff members who just "fit in" like they've always been there. Unfortunately I don't remember their names but the service was excellent, friendly and not intrusive in any way. I have to admit my bias here, we've been visiting Calma Café for a few years now. I've travelled a bit and this is in the top 5 of my friendliest and professionally run establishment. Great staff, great ethos and great value for money. Friendly staff. The sandwiches were delicious and we tasted almost all the flavours they offered. It's a nice quick bite. At 1.1€ per sandwich it is a good deal. We had 13 for 2 people and 2 small kids as a light lunch.

Brilliant restaurant. You can order from about a dozen different pre-made sandwiches. But, you don't need to buy the whole sandwich. They sell them in quarters without the crust. Very fresh. Get a coffee and you'll be set. Tables outside, counter inside. I had a quarter of ham & cheese and another quarter of veggies plus a coffee con leche. We sat outside.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Gran Canarias. There aren’t many places here to eat proper Spanish food (I am from Málaga and live abroad). Christian makes you feel like family by the first coffee. The food is absolutely amazing and pictures don’t do justice. I came every day for breakfast, and bought lunch to take to the beach. The absolute MUST HAVE is the tortilla and Ensaladilla Rusa. The croquetas are to die for, homemade and not frozen stuffed they served in most places here. I ordered the surtido, which had 5 different types. They also have the menu of the day, (starters, main and dessert) for €13.50. Highly recommend.
