Church
Norwich Cathedral, a Romanesque church dating back to 1096, is a historic landmark dominating the skyline of Norwich. The cathedral boasts stunning stained glass windows and impressive double-height cloisters reminiscent of Hogwarts. Visitors can admire over 1,000 painted wood carvings on the ceilings and watch peregrine falcons nesting in the spire during summer. The cathedral close surrounding it creates a picturesque village-like atmosphere with cobbled lanes and beautiful gardens.
A very fine cathedral in beautiful and peaceful settings! During this visit we joined one of the free tours, which provided us with a wealth of fascinating background about its history. It's not often that you get to marvel at such a wonderful cathedral AND get a tour all for free. We would have liked to attend Evensong as well that day, but unfortunately it was during the summer break, so no choral Evensong. Perhaps next time.
Rolf W — Google review
A thoroughly pleasant and enjoyable tour around the Cathedral. I made a detour in my day to just go in but I'm glad I did. Lovely stained glass windows and a wonderful ambience sprinkled with a tonne of history. If I had had the time I would have stayed longer but c'est la vie. The Cathedral has been there for 900 years it's going to be there in another one. I would wholly recommend if you have longer than the half hour I did. Free entry but donations are accepted and there is a gift shop. The lady at the reception was very pleasant and friendly.
Mike ( — Google review
We visited late on a Tuesday afternoon and found the cathedral quiet and almost empty. Most visitors had departed, but the clergy and some laypersons were busying themselves to welcome parishioners for the 5:30 p.m. Evensong. By arriving late we missed the Cathedral’s free tours (the website shows the last one begins at 3:00 p.m.), so we picked up a welcome booklet instead and did our best to follow the suggested visit order. The nave is magnificent, and we marvelled at how well its strong Norman design had been integrated into the lovely fan vaulted ceiling. Two massive spiral-ribbed columns stand out. Because of the service preparations we were only able to peer into the lovely wooden choir, but we found our exploration of the impressive Presbytery and its four adjacent chapels to be fascinating. Given the time we could only do a cursory exploration of the ceiling’s treasure trove of carved medieval ceiling bosses, but we certainly plan to return to explore them more fully. Practical info: Norwich Cathedral has no entry fee, but a donation is much appreciated. An excellent list of tours, events, dates, and timings is available on the Cathedral’s website. Should one be visiting by car, note there is no parking in the Cathedral Close, but the website provides a recommendation of nearby pay parking options.
David R — Google review
This cathedral deservedly made Norwich a proper Christian city when Normans began construction in 1096. It boasts the 2nd largest extant spire of a British cathedral (this iteration standing since 1485). The cathedral doesn’t have a peal (unlike the storied nearby St Peter of Mancroft) for which only 4 stars are given. The church has received a modern hostry and refectory in the 2000s, where modern toilets can be found as well as a three-quarters decent contracted vendor for the café, the Bread Source. The wood and glass structure makes for a pleasant space and a good entrance, where entry is subject to a voluntary donation. The close is also lovely and home to several businesses, a college, and private residences.
Carl F — Google review
Beautiful place and really helpful staff! Staff arent pushy for donations which is great as many places are pushy. Free tours makes visiting very affordable. Would definitely reccommend for half a day/a full day out. We went at 11am on a Wednesday during the October half term and it wasn't busy at all. They had activities like colouring avaliable for children.

I've lived near Norwich all of my 41 years and never visited the cathedral until today and my god ( excuse the pun ) was it impressive.. how on earth did they build this cathedral in that fine detail all those years ago 😳.. our minds were absolutely blown how beautiful this place and grounds are.. very factual and stunningly kept. It's a true national treasure

Norwich Cathedral is a truly stunning landmark and a must-visit in the city. The architecture is breathtaking, with its soaring spire, beautiful cloisters, and intricate stonework that reflect centuries of history. The interior is equally impressive, offering a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere perfect for quiet reflection. The staff and volunteers are welcoming and knowledgeable, happy to share the cathedral’s rich history. Whether you’re interested in architecture, history, or simply seeking a serene place to visit, Norwich Cathedral is an unforgettable experience.

Absolutely gorgeous. When you step in the court yard you know Harry Potter has been here. Great location. The cathedral itself is stunning and you can spend hours there really.

Castles
Norwich Castle, located in Norfolk, England, is a historic Norman site that was built in 1067 at the request of William the Conqueror. The castle has a distinctive cube-shaped keep and has served various purposes over the centuries. It was converted into a museum in 1895 and now houses collections of archaeology, fine art, natural history, and teapots.
To anyone planning a visit, I would strongly advise booking your ticket for the newly refurbished Norwich Castle in advance. This helps you skip the main queue, though you should be prepared for a short wait even with an online ticket. It's well worth it! The newly refurbished Norwich Castle is an incredible place to visit. I was impressed by the exhibits, especially the art from the Second World War, and the beautiful views from the top of the building was beautiful and blown mind. My only concern was with the long queue. I have a card that indicates I have a disability and can't stand for long periods. When I explained this, the first person I asked said they couldn't help. Thankfully, a second person saw my distress and was kind enough to provide a seat for me while I waited. This made a huge difference. Thank you to that helpful staff member. I hope the castle considers better ways to assist people with disabilities in the future.

The whole experience is visitor friendly from young to old. Much appreciated the lifts to all floors including the battlements for the amazing views. The museum full of artefacts, clearly labelled again interactive for children to enjoy.
JENNIFER T — Google review
Newly reopened Norwich castle 2025. Well worth the visit, it's a combination of walking around a historical castle, museum exhibits and artefacts, fine art, natural history and a WW2 exhibit. There are screenplays/shows in the great hall which briefly go over the history of the castle, and there are good views out the windows and across the battlements. All items in exhibits are labelled and described, and there are display boards around the actual castle interior explaining parts of daily medieval life or the significance of certain design/areas of the castle. There are historical arms and armour on display if after pieces for artistic reference. The well is very very deep.
Andrew B — Google review
It was great to see the castle after the recent renovations. It's a fine building with some great exhibits and interactive elements for children. The views from the battlements are great, especially on a clear day. It's a bit pricey and there's no senior citizen discounts, otherwise it would be five stars
Richard M — Google review
What an amazing place right on our doorstep. I've lived in Norwich 10 years and never been to the castle and what a gem of a place this is. I can't say how much it's improved since it's renovation, but wow there's so much to see! From the basement to the battlement they have honestly outdone themselves. We didn't get a chance to see it all sadly as we had two toddlers, but what we did see was amazing and definitely worth the price of admission.
Matt — Google review
I brought my 1 year old daughter here today. We had a lovely couple of hours exploring and taking some lovely photos. My only criticism is that we couldn't get around the whole castle as the lifts were out of order. My daughter was on her trike, and I wasn't prepared to carry her up and down stairs. We explored the museum and what we could of the castle. Plenty of activities for children. Very friendly and informative staff :)

A very popular venue for a wedding ceremony and it's easy to see why! Norwich Castle, recently referbished is a gorgeous wedding ceremony venue. Slap bang in the centre of the city, it gives stunning views of the city, and the room is beatiful. Have a peek at the images to see what your wedding ceremony could look like!
Tim ( — Google review
It's more of a gallery than a castle! Like it looks like a castle, but inside, the ground floor feels like just a gallery bit very related to the castle. And then when you do go up, there isn't that much to see really. Yes, the keep, which is like and and a half room, and the big one is good, fair play, but still. Also the roof view is amazing, nothing to complain about that, actually. Really enjoyed it there.

Frank's Bar is a beloved institution in the heart of Norwich, offering a relaxed Mediterranean-inspired dining experience accompanied by a cool soundtrack. This all-day hangout is known for its decadent Sunday brunches featuring locally sourced ingredients, including vegan platters and lamb shawarma. The venue exudes a welcoming vibe with friendly service and quality food, serving traditional full English breakfasts on Sundays.
Trendy little cafe serving tasty food. The staff are always friendly. It’s a Perfect place to chill, read and catch up. I would highly recommend the franks platter (bread, olives and hummus) and a homemade cucumber and elderflower cordial.
Abigail H — Google review
Now that Franks has outside seating, both at the front and in the courtyard at the rear, it is a fab place to enjoy in the summer as well as the colder days. We had the spiced avocado with Chimichuro & feta on sourdough toast, some with poached egg, we also had asparagus with smoked salmon on sourdough, with iced coffee, americano and tea. All was great, the poached egg wasn't runny but was close, everything else was amazing. The service was fab, friendly and engaging without being intrusive.
Tony P — Google review
Was pleasantly surprised on entering. Absolutely beautiful interior, cosy, well decorated. The staff were helpful and polite and catered to a slight change in our order. Plenty of room to sit in the downstairs and upstairs rooms and the courtyard. The food a drink was very good quality for what we paid. Would definitely go there again on a date night with my husband.

Great little cafe with very nice food and great atmosphere. Well worth a visit for something different.

Lovely place for meeting friends. The interior designs and furniture together present a special atmosphere.
T H — Google review
This place is not too be missed! Don't be fooled by the limited space when you look through the window, there are plenty of spaces at the back. For the warmer weather there is a small courtyard too. The menu is intruguing and with good wines and beers available you will be spoilt for choice. It's open from 9am for brunch right the way through the evening.
Alistair Q — Google review
Great place for a late night drink, or a tasty brunch. I've spent many a late night here chatting with friends, but this time I went for breakfast. I can definitely recommend the Bloody Mary and egg and chorizo bagel. Friendly staff. Cheers!
Nick B — Google review
I started wondering why everybody was ever so nice in Frank’s bar. It sounded suspicious as it was literally everyone, not only the stuff but all the customers as well. It felt suspicious like “too good to be true”, for the first years. But now I got used to it! #bestpubintheuk #bestpeople #thankyou #thankyouFrank #longlifetofranksbar Thank you James and the team.

Flea & Street Markets
Norwich Market is a historic and spacious outdoor marketplace that has been a city institution for many years. It features diverse food, art, and craft vendors, making it one of the largest and longest-running open-air markets in the country. The market has recently experienced a street food reawakening, offering a variety of international cuisines such as empanadas, churros, New York-style sandwiches, fusion noodles, fish and chips, and bacon butties.
Our first time visiting and we were not disappointed! Unfortunately a lot of the stalls were closed due to horrendous weather over the weekend, but it didn’t dampen the experience. The majority of the indoor stalls were still trading, and we had a browse and purchased a few lovely items. Will definitely be returning in the summer for the full experience!
Emily K — Google review
Norwich Market is a vibrant and lively destination, full of local charm and energy. The bustling atmosphere, with its diverse range of street food and market stalls, offers an authentic taste of the city’s culture. From freshly prepared local delicacies to international flavors, there’s something for everyone. A must-visit spot for food lovers and those looking to experience the true spirit of Norwich!
Jack L — Google review
Beautiful town. Very nice and clean. Lovely architecture. Many attractive shops. The market has delicious street food.
Daniela H — Google review
Lovely market not every single shop is open but can get quick busy during lunch time, very reasonable pricing most of the shops, £4 can get you a massive sausage and egg roll in the morning and 70p for a cup of tea, we also tried some bubble tea and drinks here, quite nice as well, must go have a visit if you travelling to Norwich.
Snow — Google review
Lots of stalls, selling all from fresh Cromer Crabs, to working mens jeans lol, could happily spend a few hours looking around, and very central to other local shops, banks and sights of the city.
Cliff S — Google review
Norwich Market is a wonderful place to explore! It’s full of energy, colour, and friendly local vendors. You can find a bit of everything here from tasty street food and fresh produce to handmade crafts and unique gifts. The food stalls are especially impressive, offering dishes from around the world at great prices. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy local culture, grab a bite, and take in the lively atmosphere. A must-visit when in Norwich!
Manoj P — Google review
Well laid out on a tight grid to make the most of the space in this central square. It's well worth spending time meandering through the small stalls. Many of the stallholders are warm and friendly without pressuring you into parting with your cash.

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE! Delicious food, big variety of cocktails. We went for drinks and lunch, the customer service was excellent. The two waiters were very helpful, kind, funny, and created a warm environment. The cocktails were very tasty. The food was so delicious. We got a burger for each of us, the pork bellies and we definitely recommend the camembert with the focaccia! Prices pretty decent

We went there on a Sunday, 2 for £12 cocktails. Cocktails were great, well made and quick. Very nice quirky bar, nice music with a very relaxing atmosphere. We didn’t eat but the food menu looked super. We will definitely return
Jack C — Google review
Visited here for our anniversary on a Wednesday evening as we wanted to take advantage of the 50% off food offer on Wednesdays. There was an extensive huge alcohol menu, however soft drink menu was more limited (and I had to ask for a soft drinks menu to be given) and I was a bit disappointed to find they didn't do J2o's. We ordered 2 cokes, however they seemed a bit watered down. We would have liked to have tried the cherry bakewell mocktail, but I was put off by the fact it said it contains egg white (which can be dangerous) I had previously queried this on Facebook with them prior to visiting and was told that it DIDN'T contain egg white. When I sent them a screenshot of the menu and asked them to clarify, they never replied so I was left in limbo... I checked the menu again when I got there in case the drink had been changed to what was showing on the online menu, but it was exactly the same, several of the mocktails and cocktails contain egg white. Very confusing to be told it didn't contain it and it wasn't very nice to have my message ignored but never mind... Food wise we decided to order a selection of the sharing plates and everything was great taste wise. The chicken wings were amazing, we had the bacon jam ones and the jack daniels & coke ones and both of these were very good quality and had fantastic flavours! I would definitely recommend those! The popcorn chicken was also very good, it seemed like it was cooked in their own southern fried batter which made it better than the frozen type you get in some restaurants, however it wasn't very warm which was a bit of a let down unfortunately.... The crispy chilli beef was very nice but again not very warm. The potato bravas was lovely and not too spicy. The home made coleslaw was excellent, definitely one of the best ones I have had. Portion wise everything was great value for being half price, however I would say the crispy chilli beef, popcorn chicken and potato bravas would feel a bit overpriced at full price (between £7.50 - £8.50 each) The chicken wings and coleslaw I feel are worth the full price (£8.50 for the wings and £3.50 for the coleslaw) Full price the 6 food items would have been £44.50 but half price this was £22.25 which feels a lot more reasonable. Although we did enjoy the taste and flavours of the food, the biggest let down was the service. 3 of our food dishes arrived quite quickly after ordering (within 10 mins) but then we were left without any other dishes for another 10 minutes.... Nothing was said to us in this time, no apology or explanation... Finally after 10 minutes had passed from being given the first 3 dishes, 2 more of our dishes arrived. However, we were still missing another one, and we did not know if this had been forgotten or not. Loads of other people in the restaurant were being served their sharing plate dishes all together, whilst we were just left.... I was about to ask one of the waitresses where our other dish had got to when she came over to ask if we had got everything and was everything okay. I explained we were missing one of our chicken wings portions. She apologised and said she would look into it. These then came out approximately another 10 minutes later, so it seems that this was completely missed... With all the food coming out at random times with such big gaps in between this made the whole meal feel so disjointed and unfortunately effected our enjoyment... I would much rather they didn't rush to bring out those first 3 dishes so quickly, and instead waited until everything was ready so it could be brought out together. Based on our experience I feel that it would have been good business for them to have offered us another dish free of charge as an apology/goodwill gesture, but they didn't and this has left me feeling a bit disappointed. I would like to go back as I do think the food was very good, but I just hope the service next time would be a bit better.
Charlotte K — Google review
To be fair, we did come at opening time on a Friday, so aside from another couple, we were the only ones there. Decor looked interesting. But the cocktails were too sweet for us -- more juice than cocktail.
Tassia O — Google review
Just have to say a big LOL to the review before this about egg white in drinks. Ffs 🤦🏻‍♀️ egg white has been a staple in classic cocktails for years and years. Anyway this place is amazing! The food and service is top notch and Wednesday deal is 10/10.

If you're seeking a thrilling night out in Norwich, look no further than Boom Battle Bar. This vibrant venue is perfect for small groups of friends looking to enjoy an array of exciting activities like axe throwing, shuffleboard, electric darts, and crazy golf. With options such as beer pong and skee ball available too, there's never a dull moment! The atmosphere is lively and ideal for those over 18 after 7pm.
First time axe throwing and crazy golf here at Boom Battle Bar. Had an incredible time. Friendly and helpful staff. Shout out to Adam 2. The ambience and vibe here is amazing! So much fun! Safe and fun environment. Definitely recommend and will come again.
Jaison K — Google review
Being 100% honest for those who will spend £200+ too. Myself & my husband booked axe throwing, battleshots, connect pour & bottomless brunch. We then booked crazier golf whilst there but one of the holes wasn’t working correctly. The axe throwing was brilliant & you can have one alcoholic drink, so you can start the minute you arrive for it. Recommend booking first as website states, if you want to drink. Then we did connect pour, this was okay but it wasn’t what we expected, however, we got two pitchers of cider (other option was beer), so that was worth the money alone. We then did battleshots & you can chose 12 shots from the shot menu, including sambuca, baby Guinness etc. (just not jaeger bombs), that was a good game but hard to hear each other with the DJ, we had to keep leaning round. So may be best to book before the DJ starts as before that, they just had quieter music playing. The bottomless brunch was tasty, the chicken nuggets are really nice & the halloumi fries, the loaded curly fries were smothered in the smokey baconaise, so if you’re not a fan, ask for plain. They took a drink order every 15/20 mins, but they did sometimes take longer than 10 minutes to bring you a drink, so it wasn’t the best value for money but it was okay & may have been an off day. The cocktails were nice and had they have had a few more during the brunch, it would have been really good value for money. The themed one didn’t look how they were pictured but tasted good. Overall, Axe throwing was the highlight, however, the entire evening was good & staff worked hard.

We had a team development day spending 2 hours at the Boom Battle Bar- the staff were very friendly and did their best to ensure we had a fantastic time. The Axe throwing was great fun as was the shuttle board, darts and pool. Atmosphere in the place was great and although it was busy we were always able to find staff to help. We would highly recommend the venue :)

Wow! This spot is awesome! My work colleague and i arrived and we were immediately greeted by Grace, she made sure we knew exactly what was available and set us up with an evening of golf table tennis and fantastic cocktails. (She deserves a promotion!!) Overall 5 stars for service and hospitality. Would highly recommend Boom Battle Bar for anyone looking for some fun games to play whilst enjoying drinks and good company. Thanks Grace!

Had a great time and our host Marcey was excellent. Was very supportive as we were a little apprehensive to start. Definitely doing the Axe Throwing again :D
Hannah C — Google review
I chose this place because I really enjoy electronic darts and thought my friends might enjoy the axe throwing. The entire staff is either 8 and on their very first day at work or 7 squirrels wearing a skinsuit. Every single little question you might have is promptly followed up by a "I'll have to check that", by which the staffmember disappears in the back for an undisclosed amount of time. Is there some big bloke with a crystal ball that decides upon life or death when I just wanted to know if an axethrowing lane was free? When we were finally able to block a lane, and everyone paid, the staffmember told us to wait another 30minutes?? I then went to another staffmember (white shirt, glasses, looked absolutely lost without his tablet) that just told me "I have no idea why he would tell you that. We can start now", losing 10 minutes of our booked hour. I'm a patient lad, but this place really put it to the test.

Pub
The Murderers is a Norwich pub with a unique name and long history. It's known for its live sports, hearty drinks, and charmingly old-fashioned atmosphere.
Popped in after an afternoon Christmas shopping. This place was close and cute with a nice feeling. It offers home Cooked food early doors only. Gluten free and vegan is an option. They even do GF cocktails. We went as a couple would be great with friends.

A year or so ago I came to Norwich for the first time with my friends. After hearing our favourite podcasters talk about how much they loved the murderers, we of course had to have a look. I can happily say it’s a very lovely place. We spoke to a guy behind the bar about said podcast and he loved the fact he got so many fans coming in. Turns out this man was the famous Phil (the owner)!! He even showed us around and told us all about the history of the place, he was genuinely a great guy. We stayed for some food and then bought some merch!! A few months later, I ended up moving down to Norwich from Manchester because I loved Norwich so much. One day I found myself stuck in the centre with a dead phone battery and no money. I tried to look around the city for a place to charge my phone. As expected, most places said no. Losing hope, I walked up to the murderers. I asked one of the bartenders and he instantly said yes and put my phone on charge. As I stood there waiting nervously around a group of grown men watching football, the bartender asked if I wanted some water or anything. He made me feel very comfortable. I’ve never written a review for any place so you know this is truly meaningful. I fully recommend this pub.

I arranged my Dad's retirement party at The Murderers and we received excellent service. From making the initial query over the phone to the evening itself, nothing was too much trouble. We had the cafe bar area as a private space for our party and chose to have a hot and cold buffet. Requirements for vegetarian and halal food were accommodated. There is a wide selection of beers and ales available, and a great choices of other drinks, which pleased my Dad and his guests. The cafe bar area was a lovely space in which to hold a party. Highly recommend!

We only popped in for a drink, but the guy behind the bar (the son of the owner) was so interesting about how the pub got its name and some history of the area, we could have stayed all day. We were in Norwich to research my wife's family tree and it turned out one of her relatives lived directly opposite The Murderers (in what is now a 💅 nail bar on the ground floor). Lovely old pub, very welcoming, good range of non-alcoholic drinks too.
Geoff R — Google review
Great service with friendly helpful staff beer prices were ok compared to other pubs in the area. It has loads of history being around since 1841. There can be a wait for tables it seems to get very busy especially when serving food, they have big TVs in the back of the pub for those who want to watch sports. We had a great time, the beer was great, the atmosphere brilliant and we will be calling again next time we are in Norwich.

Absolutely faultless, food was top notch accompanied by a great selection on tap. Most friendly staff behind the bar and approachable even with my newly turned 18 year old friend. Cool atmosphere on a summer day, would recommend to anyone!

Excellent pub. As a fan of real ale I was delighted to see so many cask conditioned beers and the ones I tried were in really good condition. Decor is great and really ties in with the theme of the pub. Definitely my go to pub next time I'm in Norwich.

Cocktail bar
Hawthorn Bar is a trendy and relatively new addition to Norwich's bar scene, conveniently located near the train station and St Gregorys Centre for the Arts on St Benedicts Street. It has gained a reputation for serving some of the best cocktails in the area, offering a diverse selection of creative and original drinks in an inviting and laid-back atmosphere. The bar's elegant interior with a crystal chandelier adds to its sophisticated charm.
This is a cocktail bar upstairs of Makers House, open only on weekends and does a really unique menu of cocktails. The bar has around 7 tables and operates on table service, the dark and elegant British decor adds to the ambiance which is most suitable for intimate drinks for 2-3 people. We ordered 4 cocktails among the two of us, all were amazing. A cocktail is £12, expensive, but so worth it. Will be back for more!

Couple of cocktails in the afternoon 🍸🍹we managed just to beet the crowd and sat upstairs. The two girls were great hosts and once we had our drinks the place filled up quickly. Not normally a cocktail drinker but when on a city break it's nice to indulge. Loads of choices and wish I'd remembered the names, if your passing call in, they also do food and we're busy with that too.

Have had drinks here on a few occasions now. Staff definitely have no problem in creating a very reliably good dirty martini - not too common in East Anglia! Pleasant surroundings, pleasant staff, a little tapas menu.

What a lovely, busy little cocktail bar! Not your normal cocktails, so I felt a little giggly when I had 2 cocktails lol! We were first 2 in, the quickly filled up. Girls serving were polite & friendly.

Update March 2024... This place still lives up to the high standards we saw in 2018/19. Excellent cocktails, pricey, but PROPER, made with pride in what they do. Nice staff, and feels as fresh as when we first visited. Original Review from 2018: Wow, what a great place. Tucked away above another bar in a nice part of town. Probably the best cocktails in the city. Table service and brilliant staff. Very, very impressed. Expensive, but you get what you pay for here.

Terrific place for grown ups to quietly enjoy artisanal cocktails. Spicy 50, Wolfpack and Rajamaki Highball were all perfect. The decor and music are great and the staff highly competent, friendly and professional.

The food looked great, but after 25 minutes sat there with menus in hand we eventually walked away, not that we were in a rush, but I feel like more experienced servers would have at least given an apologetic look or offered us water.

The Lamb Inn, a classic pub from Stonegate Pubs, is a stylish and inviting establishment located in the heart of Norwich city center. It offers upscale pub grub including gourmet burgers and a kids' menu, making it an ideal spot for families. The pub boasts indoor and outdoor seating as well as a lively atmosphere that kids will love.
Nestled away in the middle of the city centre, is this gorgeous pub visually it is stunning, there’s a pink photo booth that’s a bit out of place but still funny to see peoples reactions, I remember coming years and years (perhaps 12) with family and remember the food being much better. We both had burgers and chips which were rather hard and lacking flavour (but still much better than any fast food place in the city)can’t fault the service, staff have great personality and were very friendly. The table we had opted to sit was a benched booth but the bench had arm rests and was massively challenging to get in without pushing the table (think we just chose a bad seat 😂) overall atmosphere great, food average, unlikely to return for food. But nice to return for a drink.

If you're looking for the perfect blend of great food, cold drinks, and an unbeatable atmosphere—this place delivers on all fronts. From the moment you walk in, the energy is electric. Massive screens everywhere make it the ultimate sports bar experience—every seat has a great view of the game. The menu is impressive for a pub—definitely more than your typical bar fare. The wings are next-level, the burgers are juicy and perfectly cooked, and the loaded fries? Unreal. You can tell they actually care about the food here, not just the drinks. Speaking of drinks—ice-cold beers on tap, solid cocktails, and a great selection of spirits. Prices are fair, and the staff is friendly, fast, and clearly know how to keep the vibe going, even on a packed game night. Whether you're catching a match with friends, grabbing a bite solo, or just looking for a lively place to unwind, this spot nails it. Definitely a new go-to!

It was busy when I arrived but managed to get a table, lots of seating outside too. Bar staff were very friendly, felt like a nice atmosphere to sit and relax with a drink. Had the chicken and bacon club baguette which was good value, arrived quickly and was very tasty. My only gripe would be it was £6 for a bottle of low alcohol Ghost Ship that a felt was a little pricey. Dog friendly and look forward to visiting again in the future.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Lamb Inn in Norwich. The food was excellent, especially the chicken wings they tasted just like the ones I had back home in Sri Lanka. Great all-round experience. Wide variety of exhibits. Juxtaposition of pieces was stimulating and an engaging feature was where soundscapes were paired with some of the items. This led to those sculptures being experienced in a fuller way. Staff were attentive and there was an opportunity to be guided around. Setting of the Centre is picturesque. Well worth a visit.

So much better than I thought it would be. A wonderful wide range of art and artifacts. The interactive displays were a nice touch. The current temporary exhibition was brilliant. Tickets by donation and we had a lovely coffee and cake in the cafe. It was nice wondering around the outside sculptures. No wait to enter and not too busy for a weekend day. My only trouble was parking. There were no spaces left and we had to park in a different car park at a different building, the ticket machine was also broke. Other than that, great day out.

Elm Hill is a historic cobblestone lane in Norwich, known for its quaint coffee, tea, and book shops housed in Tudor period buildings. The street dates back to the Tudor era and many of its buildings were reconstructed after a fire in 1507. Elm Hill is a major landmark with various shops, galleries, tea houses, and The Britons Arms restaurant.
Beautiful historic street lined on both sides with half timbered Tudor buildings. The charming architecture, cheerful colours and selection of independent shops, galleries and restaurants make this a delightful place to walk through. A historic gem of Norwich, and pleasantly quiet on the February morning I visited.

Pub
St Andrews Brew House is a charming pub in Norwich that offers a unique experience of watching beer being brewed on the premises. The micro-brewery on the first floor allows visitors to witness the brewing process while enjoying board games and a relaxing atmosphere. The ground floor features a bar and restaurant where guests can savor comforting meals and quality beers with friends. Housed in a beautiful Grade II-listed building, the interior boasts an industrial-style decor that complements the visible brewhouse.
I gazed longingly at @standrewsbrewhouse one Saturday in September when I was a guest at a wedding at St Andrews church across the road. Unfortunately the wedding reception wasn't in the brew house so on that occasion I was denied a pint. However, I resolved to visit upon my return to Norwich. And opportunity presented itself when a job I was doing in Great Yarmouth finished a little earlier than expected. I got myself a train ticket and headed over to St Andrews Brew House to sample their home brewed beers. Seeing that they had a NEIPA on offer I jumped at the chance and was rewarded by fresh apricot aromas and muted grass and pepper notes and ever such a tiny hint of bitterness at the end, reminiscent of blood orange. This was 'Pacifica' - a beer well worth drinking. However, if that wouldn't have been your bag, there were so many other options from the great and good of UK beer as well as plenty of other St Andrews options. As you can see, the decor is on point and there are plenty of cosy books and spaces for different sized groups to get together and chill out. I didn't get a decent photo but as with any good taproom the brewing equipment was on show and part of the experience. I must advise that if you have a train to catch not to tarry too long - I was saved by my train being delayed! #taproom #uktaproom #norfolkbeer #brewerytap #brewerytaproom #craftbeer #realale #ukbeer #ukcraftbeer

We had our wedding meal here and it was perfect. We hired the tank room and the locker room with the bar upstairs. Our guests ordered from the normal menu- everyone loved their food and all meals came hot which was great when cooking for just over 30 people. They were great accommodating different dietary requirements. Laura was fantastic and made sure everything went smoothly. The table was laid out beautifully and everyone had a great time. Could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding as it was perfect. Would recommend to anyone thinking of booking an event here.

Refunded but actual refund amount was less than the amount paid due to bank commission. Wish we were told before we order. We had our wedding reception at St Andrews Brewhouse and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, answering all our questions in the lead up to the day and exceeding our expectations on the day itself. The food was outstanding – the chicken supreme was honestly the best dish I’ve ever eaten. We’ve been coming here for nearly 10 years and the food has always been consistently amazing. The venue is perfect for a small wedding and worked out as fantastic value for money. I couldn’t recommend St Andrews Brewhouse highly enough.

We held our wedding reception in the upstairs of St Andrew’s Brewhouse and I couldn’t recommend them more! Lou and the team were so accommodating, no request felt like too much. All allergies were catered for too. The food was absolutely incredible and our guests are still telling us how great the chicken was 2 weeks later! We had the best time - thank you so much Lou & co!

Held a private birthday party upstairs at The Brew House for around 50 people. The room(s) up there are perfect for this size party - in fact we could have fitted a few more - with seating for everyone and plenty of room for some dancing. There's a separate bar upstairs so you don't need to keep traipsing downstairs to get your drinks and the two staff members running the bar were really engaged with our guests' needs and were absolutely fantastic. All the ratings I've given are based on the fact that this was a private event eg. the noise level has taken into account that we had a DJ playing music at our event.

Discover the rich industrial history of Norwich at The Museum of Norwich at the Bridewell. Housed in a 16th-century building, this two-floor museum offers a fascinating exploration of the city's past through exhibits, themed rooms, and hands-on activities. Learn about Norwich's evolution from an Anglo Saxon settlement to a thriving town in medieval England. The museum also provides insight into the significance of trade and agriculture in shaping the city's development.
Fascinating museum of local history covering a wide range of subjects, from Norwich's status as England's second city, up to more recent industrial history. The building itself is interesting, having been a prison in the past. Thoughtfully curated displays, immersive recreations of shops and street scenes from the past, and a host of historic artefacts make this a great way to spend a few hours learning about Norwich. With limited time to spend, we elected to visit this museum instead of the Castle and were not disappointed. Both have plenty to offer, but Bridewell's focus on the history of Norwich as a working city made it particularly interesting. We learned a lot about the confectionery and shoemaking industries that formerly employed many people in the city. The museum is well provided for, with a small gift shop and toilets onsite. Tickets at the time of our visit were £7.80 for adults, with discounts for concessions; good value considering the quality and range of exhibits. Advance booking is recommended during holidays.

I visited the Museum of Norwich in the last hour before closing and had no wait to get in. Tickets were reduced to just £2.50, which was a great deal! The museum itself was really interesting, with lots of interactive features that made the history of Norwich engaging and easy to explore. From local industries to everyday life in the past, there was plenty to see and do. The only downside was the gift shop—while they had Norwich-themed fridge magnets, there wasn’t anything specifically about the museum itself, which was a bit disappointing. Still, for the price and experience, I’d definitely recommend a visit!

An informative and interactive museum offering glimpse into the rich history of Norwich. Two levels of this museum are equipped with rooms that has its own thematic presentation. Visitors are taken from the Anglo-Saxon past, medieval period, until the post-industrialisation era, in each room. I personally enjoyed my visit to this museum.

This was a superb museum to visit, with artefacts looking back on Norwich's history as the second city of the UK in medieval times! Trade of items like coffee and tea is focused on, these old relics are shown as they would have been shipped. Coffee house section even allows to do fancy dress and a metal sheep depiction is taken in from an ancient pub, manufacturing machinery is brought in and a room is used for insight into how this was undertaken! I really enjoyed the market section with the items that would have been sold on the streets years ago and the classic store goods in their old form, carts are a superb addition. An old bar is incorporated and a mini train runs across the top, displays include a motorbike and pram as well. One area explores the household lives of people after World War 2 and exhibits the games that became popular, TV and childhood entertainment are both delved into too!

So much on offer here and such a beautiful building, they never disappoint us each year with their Christmas displays this year wrapping the whole building in a giant red gift bow which looks amazing. I very much like how they support local small creators and businesses I was blown away to see so many lovely local stalls on the 2nd floor for their Christmas market ,this was lovely to see so many handmade local gifts. Exceptional family run department store with a history dating back to 1770. Excellent range of high quality product lines under one roof, from fashion and furniture to books and toys. The food hall is a particular highlight, beautifully presented and with an outstanding range of quality products. A small café in the food hall and a larger restaurant upstairs offer a nice selection of refreshments and lunch options, with sandwiches and cooked lunches prepared to order. Busy in early afternoon but didn't have to wait too long - a nice change from London! The store, completed in 1823, is a really unusual building and an architectural treat. Nice to see that well behaved dogs are welcome everywhere inside except for the food and drinks areas.

Jarrolds Department Store in Norwich: A Delightful Shopping Experience From the moment I stepped through the doors of Jarrolds, I knew I was in for something truly special. This iconic department store exudes a sense of warmth and charm that is hard to find in today's retail landscape. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by an impressive array of high-quality merchandise, meticulously curated to cater to every taste and need. The staff, with their infectious smiles and unparalleled knowledge, are the true stars of the show. They go above and beyond to ensure that every customer feels welcomed and valued, making the shopping experience truly exceptional. One of the highlights of my visit was the delightful cream tea I indulged in at one of the store's charming cafes. The scones were perfectly baked, the clotted cream was decadent, and the atmosphere was simply delightful. It's the kind of experience that makes you want to linger and savor every moment. But Jarrolds offers much more than just exceptional retail and dining experiences. The furniture department is a true gem, showcasing a stunning selection of high-quality pieces that cater to every style and budget. And the fashion departments, both for women and men, boast an impressive array of fashionable and on-trend offerings, making it easy to find the perfect outfit. In fact, I could have easily spent an entire day exploring the wonders of Jarrolds, from the impressive fish restaurant to the countless nooks and crannies that hold hidden treasures. This department store is a true gem, a place where the art of shopping is elevated to an experience that is both enjoyable and unforgettable. If you find yourself in Norwich, do yourself a favor and visit Jarrolds. It's a testament to the power of exceptional customer service, high-quality merchandise, and a genuine commitment to creating a truly special shopping experience.

What a place, absolutely fantastic, Jarrolds has been at the centre of Norwich for many years, you can easily spend a few hours looking around and having lunch. I had a carvery for £13.95 a dessert for £4.70 and a coffee for £3.20. If you had the same in any pub it would have come to at least £30.00. Definitely visit, just don't take the wife or you will leave skint.

Lunch Experience at Jarrod’s Pantry Today, I had the pleasure of enjoying my favorite pie for lunch at Jarrod’s top-floor Pantry restaurant. At first, I was ready to leave as I wasn't in the mood for another carvery. However, I spotted the steak and kidney pie on the menu and couldn’t resist! I went back to the counter and chose a delightful meal of boiled and roasted potatoes with fresh vegetables, paired with a refreshing bottle of mango juice. The pie was generously filled with steak and kidney, and the potatoes and vegetables were cooked to perfection. It truly made for an enjoyable meal! In total, my lunch cost £17.30, which kept me satisfied for the rest of the day. Jarrod’s is a relatively large restaurant, quite popular with the older generations. The staff-to-customer ratio is nearly always spot on, ensuring excellent service. Plus, there are several car parks within walking distance, making it an ideal place to meet up with friends or, like I did today, enjoy a meal alone.

Big thanks to Jo working on woman's wear on Thursday this week. You helped me so much with my wedding outfit. You made me laugh, and you introduced me to shoes I thought I'd never try on! Thank you for suggesting other options, for collecting items from other departments for me and generally being very lovely. Fabulous experience, I will return.

A really unique place with very helpful staff. The food was amazing (be careful not to order too much!) Our food took a bit longer to arrive but they gave us a free drink to compensate. Would highly recommend.

Forget stiff tablecloths. Gonzo’s in Norwich is pure, unadulterated cool. It’s got that effortlessly funky, late-night energy—the kind of place where the music is as good as the food, and the atmosphere just works. Seriously, the vibe is a 10/10, If you go, you must order the BBQ Trays. This is low-and-slow done right. Think smoke-ring perfection, meat that surrenders with a whisper, and a sauce that actually tastes like it was made with love, not bottled in a factory. It’s generous, messy (in the best way), and totally satisfying. This isn't just a meal; it’s an experience in American smokehouse excellence. And finally, the mega service. Attentive, genuinely friendly, and clearly passionate about what they’re doing. Our drinks were always topped up, the recommendations were spot-on, and everything felt smooth, despite how busy they are. Gonzo's isn't just serving great BBQ; they're serving a great time. Killer food, next-level service, and a vibe that makes you want to stay all night. Get the tray. Stay for the party. Best birthday meal ever.

Fantastic food, atmosphere and service. Went here for an anniversary meal and our server was extremely pleasant and chatty. The food portions were plentiful and I would highly recommend them.

We’ve had many excellent meals at Gonzos but yesterday was the first time going with our 4 month old baby. The staff were so lovely - interacting with our little girl, turning the music down slightly for her and putting something on the projector for her to look at. There was room for our pram which we can sometimes struggle to find in other restaurants. The food was absolutely delicious as always - we would highly recommend the Maple & Bacon Fries 😍 we had a fab experience and will definitely return!

Really fun and interesting spot, so much old merch to look at while waiting for absolutely amazing burgers and poutine. We will be back. The rooftop terrace is a mission to climb to after a full meal though 😅 (Also, why is it called Gonzos Tea Room on Google and Two Room in person.. 🤭)

BrewDog Norwich is a no-nonsense chain bar that specializes in craft beers, including their famous Punk IPA. Located in the city center, it's a great spot to grab a bite and enjoy a wide range of beers from their 27 taps. The venue offers both meat and plant-based burgers as well as small plates. It's also dog-friendly, providing treats and water for furry friends. Visitors have praised the rustic decor and the delicious food options such as truffle fries.
Been looking forward to coming here for a long time. I'm an hour away from my nearest brewdog. Needless to say I'm not disappointed. My partner and I had the patriot burger, it was smashing and cooked fresh. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked stunning. The drinks were the best part and made this day extra special. I had a pint of wingman, black heart and wingman tropical. All exceptional on draft. But the tropical wingman was like drinking fruit juice so smooth and at 7.2% you can really enjoy a couple. If brewdog wants to come and move into one of the old banks in Felixstowe it would be very welcomed. We are already planning our next trip to Norwich and this will be on the list for drinks and food.

The atmosphere is always buzzing, the beer selection is second to none, and the food is outstanding. I'm a huge fan of their burgers, which are always juicy and flavourful...the best I've had in a long time and closest burger I've had that can compete with the states. But the real game-changer for me are the cauli wings. They are truly amazing... perfectly crunchy, saucy, and so delicious that they've become my go-to order. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable about the beers, making the whole experience top tier. Whether you're a craft beer connoisseur or just looking for great food and a good time, BrewDog is the one.

The staff in here were all really friendly, they seemed to have a good understanding of the beer on offer and made good suggestions. The food here was great, burgers are really good, wings and cauliflower tasted great. There are games here that you can borrow and play at your table which is nice, the atmosphere wasn’t super lively on a Friday night but the time spent here was pleasant. I’d recommend coming here, I will be returning when I am back in Norwich.

Drinks as always, good. Service too, knowledgeable server. Unfortunately the Grazing platter, “the feast” was poor. Fries cold, southern fried chicken overcooked and dry, see picture. And what on earth were those cucumbers???? Spicy burger however was bloody lush… Will we come again, absolutely for the beer, but will eat first….. 🤷🏻🤷🏻🤷🏻😜

With an impressive selection of over 30 real ales on tap, alongside a diverse array of imported beers and bottled options from around the globe, there's something to satisfy every palate.
Great real ale pub. Huge choice of ale. Staff are friendly, excellent pork pies, arguably the best pub in Norwich

This place has been recommended to me over a few decades. So, it was really good to visit at last, and it didn't disappoint. In an age of modern bars it's reassuring to walk into something that epitomises a traditional British boozer. It also helps that the wide range of beers are carefully looked after and presented.
Steve M — Google review
A place to be. Pints are impeccable and fresh (well priced too) brewed by the local brewery of the same name. Though enough guest beers and imported stuff. Cozy and beautiful this pub feels like home even when quite busy with friendly locals. Plenty of seating outside too.

In my opinion The Fat Cat is the best pub in Norwich. The beer is always in top condition. It’s like a permanent beer festival in there! Love it.
Marcus B — Google review
Fat Cat brewery's original pub, in a nice part of west Norwich, about 15 minutes walk from the city centre. 12 cask beers on hand pull (about half of which were Fat Cat's own beers), plus an interesting choice of independent craft keg beers. A good feel to the place. Some outside seating too. A "must visit". Also, only 5 minutes walk away is the Alexandra, which you should also try if time permits!
Richard R — Google review
This is a very atmospheric and welcoming pub. Lots and lots of beers to choose from. The staff are friendly. There's a nice cross section of ages of the customers, no poseurs or townies, no music, no gaming machines, just folk who enjoy a good pub and a beer. Very nice to sit in here with a pint and soak in the atmosphere. The only issue is that it's quite a distance from Norwich centre.

A traditional pub serving a great selection of real ale and ciders. A great place to enjoy chatting with friends and family with secluded areas. No machines or music to distract from good old conversation.

Grosvenor Fish Bar is a well-established fish and chip restaurant in Norwich, serving classic British dishes for over 90 years. Housed in a historic listed building from the 1700s, the restaurant has undergone a stylish refurbishment, blending contemporary elements with rustic designs. The menu offers traditional favorites like battered haddock with chips as well as daily specials such as Mexican spiced cod tacos.
Best fish and chips in Norwich. Located in the very city center this vintage place is a must. Very good service and the variety of delicious and large meals. Ee have tried burgers and the large portion of fish and chips were delicious. Definitely recommended

Had my first dine-in experience at Grosvenor Fish Bar and really enjoyed it. I ordered the whitebait which was absolutely delicious, while my partner had the mackerel and loved it too. One thing I did notice though they used to provide Tabasco, but now you have to buy the “Chillie Bang Bang,” which unfortunately wasn’t spicy at all. Still, the food itself, especially the whitebait, was spot on and worth coming back for. I would highly recommend anyone to come over to get their fish & chips, or probably try the whitebait you won’t be disappointed!
Coyotito D — Google review
Grosvenor Fish Bar, an assuming American style quirky chippie that serves clam burgers and fried green tomatoes so tried them. The clam burger reminds me of canned clams from the US but the patty also had other stuff which gives it a garlic bread taste. The fried green tomatoes were a bit too hard for my liking while the tomato slices were not juicy. The basement of this restaurant is a must visit.

Came here 2 and a half years ago and the flavour of the fish n chips was incredible. I decided it was the best fish n chip shop I’ve been to but unfortunately the last 2 times I’ve been all of the food has been extremely bland.

DISAPPOINTED! I used to come here years and years ago when it was ran by a different owner. That owner made this place the best Fish and Chips place on planet earth. Now it’s just NOT the same. Very disappointed ☹️ There used to be all kinds of free sauces, chilli powder salt, like you could tell they wanted everyone to have a good experience. Everything used to be perfect. Now it’s nothing but disappointment. I won’t be coming back here but I’ll be going to the chip shop in the market instead. Truly disappointed as this used to be my favourite place to have fish and chips. Also chilli con chips is terrible. Go to any other place and you’ll get amazing meaty chili con chips, here their default is veggie. So idk you could make it at home better than this. Please to better then maybe you’d get more people coming here. This place used to be impossible to get a seat it was that good. Now it’s just sad honestly sad. Really wished it was like how it was before💔
Angelina C — Google review
We're local pensioners and have often passed the shop, packed out with customers as rule. Out of our budget and has been for years, sadly. Except on very special occasions. Still, when our son and family popped up from London and wanted to spare me cooking, I suggested good old fish and chips and quite naturally chose the one that I had seen was very popular. It wasn't special though. The cod wasn't flaky and was more like frozen reformed, apart from the skin. No bones and soggy. The batter oozed cooking oil. So, together brought back memories of a pretty typical corner shop that rarely changed its oil and set the temperature high. The chips were plentiful but not left in long enough, or the oil hot enough. So not crispy on the outside. A lot of chip shards rather than full size chips. Good old fish and chips indeed. Shame. No comparison to the Sheffield fish and chips we had at Christmas. With the price of cod and chips so high, we'll wait until Sheffield at Christmas once more. Too expensive to try the other local chippies. Sad. We had to reheat them as the delivery guy had another order to pick up elsewhere before coming to us. I didn't know they did that. Might have been far better eaten in the shop. Not the chippies fault of course.
Pamela K — Google review
A delicious English fish and chips. The batter is crunchy and not so oily which paired well with the cod fish. Haddock taste is stronger and the meat is harder. A generous plate of chips can share 2 person. The fried tiger prawn is good too. Love the ingredients which are fresh catches. Recommend the mushy peas for the side. The basement seating place is cooler but it’s oily everywhere which make us uncomfortable.
Edo L — Google review
Grosvenor Fish Bar truly lives up to its reputation – it probably serves the best fish & chips in the city, or at the very least, it’s definitely one of the most highly rated spots for a reason. The fish is crispy, the chips perfectly cooked, and everything tastes incredibly fresh. Despite a long line of delivery drivers picking up orders, the service was impressively fast and efficient. The staff were friendly and kept everything moving smoothly, which made the wait feel minimal. I also tried the sea bass roll – a delicious surprise! Fresh, flavorful, and a nice change from the usual options. Prices are a bit higher than the market stalls nearby, but the quality more than justifies it. If you’re looking for a proper fish & chips experience in Norwich, this is the place to go.

Rooftop Gardens in Norwich is a unique rooftop restaurant and bar offering stunning 360-degree panoramic views of the city. It serves European and world cuisine, making it a popular lunch spot since its opening in October 2016. The venue also hosts special afternoon teas with a festive menu that includes sandwiches, scones, mince pies, and an assortment of cakes and patisserie. Additionally, Rooftop Gardens is an elegant setting for wedding receptions and other events.
I visited for drinks with 8 friends to celebrate a birthday. We sat outside & there was a jazz band playing which was lovely. The drinks were yummy & brought over to us fairly quickly, but my bowl of fries took at least 20-30 minutes (& it was a pretty small bowl for £4) 😥 We would have ordered main dishes here if the vegan options had been better, we found the menu online beforehand & noticed that cauliflower steak was the only vegan main so we decided to eat elsewhere. Before we left, we discovered a special menu specifically for that evening with more vegan options on but unfortunately we had a table booked elsewhere at this point. The view is stunning up on the roof. It's definitely a good place to go for a special occassion.

First the positives! The service was amazing my two servers were attentive and just good people. No fault to them at all. The crème brûlée itself. Good. And the Mock-tail. One of the best I’ve had! The negatives. Cutting to the chase. Within an hour of being here I found myself in the bathroom suffering, to what I’m going to assume was a bunch of semi uncooked rice within the duck chorizo dish. ( granted on me for eating it but thought maybe semi cooked for the style of dish. I don’t like making a big deal about things in person so I pointed it out after finishing a large amount and didn’t think much off it) However, didn’t help that I also caught a medium chunk of bone within the dish as well, which could have been a choke risk if I hadn’t noticed it. For the price of nearly £40, I expected/ hoped for better. Maybe an off night as general reviews here are great and I feel guilty even giving a bad review but felt like something should be said! Again. Service was amazing considering I was a solo eater I can’t fault them at all, the food has left me unwell and wishing I went else where though.

Went here to celebrate my friends birthday, booked it as a surprise and she was really pleased. The food was delicious and the cocktails were lovely. We had Sunday lunch and sad to say that four of our meals were cold. We told the waiter and he was amazing. They took the four meals away, brought four fresh meals to our table which were piping hot and couldn’t have apologised more. All the staff were fantastic. When they brought our bill they didn’t charge us for a bottle of wine. Customer service was fantastic and we’ll certainly go back again. 👏🏻👏🏻

Had dinner here with family and I was extremely disappointed. The seating in a booth was very old and torn in places. The service was very mediocre- waited long time for drinks. Asked for our water to be filled up and this came, after asking again, with the bill. The food was dreadful. We all had something different and it was all tasteless, extremely overpriced - £21 for pasta, broccoli and three pieces of halloumi. The whole chicken was dry and over cooked. It’s easy to say complain at the time but we couldn’t be bothered as all the food was poor. I am happy to pay the price for good food but honestly this was dreadful. We won’t be returning or recommending.
Jollypop 1 — Google review
Our waiter (Mira) was one of the most friendly people I have met in a long time. 1st class service. We decided to order some food in my personal opinion it could have been presented a lot better. It was poor, to say the least. With having a small menu, it should be perfect. The plate itself was far too big for the quantity of food. Whoever decided to season the chips went over board with the salt, I do like more salt than most, but that was ridiculous! The cocktail was perfect. I would go again, just for drinks. There is a small carpark on the ground £2. All evening.
D. M — Google review
First time at this restaurant. Booked for our anniversary. Only good thing about this place is the waiters. Couldn’t fault them. The outside area is very dated and needs some TLC. Should have realised this wasn’t going to go well when we were seated inside and there were stained on the seats. Had the starters which were ok, nothing special. I had the monkfish skewer, it was ok, could do with seasoning but the potatoes and tomatoes were good so this helped flavour the monkfish. My wife had the cod. It came luke warm and raw! Sent it back. I finished my meal, the second cob came back…. Even more raw than the first! The waiter was great and very apologetic. Wasn’t charged for the cod (obviously) and 20% off the bill. So that was at least something. We left to get a Tesco meal deal for my wife and on the way out, spoke to the manger and explained what had happened, the response ‘sorry about that’. If you want a special occasion with your significant offer, this is NOT the place. I have a 2 for the atmosphere only because it’s not a place for a romantic occasion. Again, great if you out with the lads or a party. Probably great to go out with the lads but definitely DO Not have the fish!

We had a really lovely time they catered well to the dietary needs of the group and the waiter was really lovely and friendly. They were all very attentive. The only disappointing thing is that two of the dishes said they come in a cob loaf but actually they came in a bowl with the bread on the side other than that it was a lovely time and nice meal

Gonna be realistic. 1. Service nice staff but asked to order at the bar and then after found out service charge is included? Never offered sauce asked and ran off the second I mentioned it before the other half could ask. 2. Ordered a steak burger, nothing steak about it, very nice burger but not really as advertised and 17 quid is not ‘cheap’ Fish and chips was very nice. Lots of nearby positive places to visit will likely not return following a long stint of not coming.

This pub is right next to a beautiful historic church, which is honestly what drew me in—I'm a big fan of places with a bit of history. They offer a great selection of Belgian beers and ales ranging from 4% to 9% (which, no, I didn't dive into this time!). The building itself has some gorgeous original features, but sadly, many of them are covered up. In particular, there's a wall in the beer garden that could have been a stunning highlight, rich in character. But instead it's hidden behind a rather unattractive shelter. A real missed opportunity for charm and atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. When we asked for two drinks in half pints, the staff member sharply replied, "We only offer half pints." It came across more as attitude than helpfulness. No need to be snippy about it.

Absolutely fantastic place and my nee favorite in Norwich. The food is scrumdiddlydumptious, beer and cider great and staff are fast, friendly and just what you need on your day out. I like that not only the food is amazing but it's also different to your standard English pub menu that tends to be same everywhere else. Perfect for meat, seafood and potato lovers and has veg options too. Dog friendly and as it has the baby changing board it's also baby friendly.

Front circle row D seat 💺 29. The peaky blinders show was good. And the view great. The seats have a nice amount of leg room for a theatre 🎭 and it was not too hot 🔥 inside when the show was almost sold out and the tempreture🌡was 30°c + outside. Michelin star pie!! Tuesday special! Last tuesday the city was all jammed up and I had to sort of abandon my car in the car park of the Black Horse. Patrons only, obviously and in desperate need of both a bit of dinner and a bit of natural respite, I stopped in. I was in a bit of a flap, rush hour traffic has a way of really aggravating me, and I was tired and hungry (hangry they call it) and the gigantic barman was incredibly patient and recommended a special that would go on to change my life. Pie & a pint. PIE and A PINT Lets start by saying that the atmosphere of the Black Horse could be described as 'a warm hubub' even at about half five of a Tuesday evening and there were quite a few tables taken already with people enjoying their dinner. Now, you may think that pie and a pint is pretty standard pub fayre, and you'd be right, it's probably one of the most familiar dishes on menus across Britain ad, as someone who spent decades of his life travelling with work, I have sampled more than my fair share (my PR will attest to this). So when the pie arrived, all golden pastry, steamy mash and silky liquor-like gravy, I KNEW I was in for something special. This, folks, is the best ever pub pie I've ever had, ever. And it's not even close. Now that may sound like a bold statement, so here's another. The beef and Stilton pie with its leeks, mash and incredible gravy could actually be the foundation of world peace. It meta in the mouth in such a way that you can't help but smile from ear to ear. It's like a song of comfort food at your favourite festival, it's a blanket and a warm bed listening to the raindrops drum against the window. It's simply sensational and, all words and comparisons aside, there is nothing that can truly attest to how good this pie is. I waited all week to post about it because you, dear reader, could well be making plans for tomorrow and please believe me when I say that if those plans are for a pie and a pint at the Black Horse on Earlham road in Norwich, then your mouth will love you for the rest of your life.

Good service with a smile, a little wait from order but we did have some varied dishes All meals good and my super salad with a piece of hake was delicious. ! The offer of student discount was much appreciated. Nice atmosphere for a wednesday lunchtime

The loveliest, friendliest pub with great food and drinks. We had burgers and the chicken souvlaki fries, and both were delicious and generous portions. I had a glass of vinho verde that was the perfect summer wine. Excellent choice for both food and drinks, and we were pleasantly surprised to get student discount for our son. We’ll definitely be back!

We got there on a Friday evening. The table was booked in advance online. We found seating too close together. I could touch my neighbour seating by just raising my arms to the side, which made me feel uncomfortable. It took a long while to ask if we were ready to order our food. Food took too long to prepare, approximately 50 minutes wait, then my food had to go back to the kitchen and be remade as it didn't come as ordered. Also, when I ordered the food, I requested an upgrade to sweet potato fries, and the waitress did tell me that might not be possible. I was expecting her to come and let me know before I received my meal, but that never happened. The atmosphere was okay but too hot and the music was not a relaxed volume to sit and enjoy our meal. The food was mediocre and not worth waiting nearly an hour for. I wouldn't return again due to the cost and level of service we received. The place needs air conditioning, taking out one set of table and chairs so it would be more comfortably spaced and more private.

Great pub with tasty food and helpful, efficient staff. The interior is pleasant, and there’s a large, lovely garden with plenty of space. A couple of covered tables mean you can sit outside even if it rains. Free parking is available, and the toilets are clean.

Nature & Parks
The Plantation Garden, also known as Norwich's Secret Garden, is a hidden gem located next to St. John's Cathedral in the Golden Triangle area of the city. This English garden features an Italianate terrace, formal flower beds, and a Gothic fountain dating back to 1857. It has been transformed from an old quarry into a tranquil oasis with intricate landscaping and historical features.
Beautiful, well kept, enchanting garden. The only thing worth noting is the steep pathway in and out, which may be a struggle for those with limited mobility. The garden has so much character and little bits of history. You can easily spend a day in the wonder of creation here. The plaques dotted about give some history and information about the garden, too.

Beautiful hidden gem in central Norwich! Stunning garden with plenty of colourful flowers. The fountain is the cherry on top, lovely sitting down and hearing the water fall. Plenty of seats around and you can happily sit on the grass. £2 entry by honesty box or contactless. We parked in the hotel car park next door (just use RingGo app). Will 100% head back again.

A calm and beautiful garden just outside the city centre. Lovely gardens with a short loop that you can walk. Chairs for seating or lovely spots on the grass to read a book or listen to the trees.

I remembered this garden as an oasis of calm where I could clear my mind or prepare on previous work-related trips to Norwich. The Plantation Garden retains all of my expected meditative qualities. A request for providing a £2 donation on entry is incredible value for money.

Norwich's hidden treasure - the Plantation Garden left me speechless! So tranquil and beautifully maintained, it feels like stepping into another world. Every corner reveals something new - charming pathways, lovely flowers, and fascinating historical elements. The perfect escape from city noise where you can truly connect with nature. Take your time to appreciate the small details and craftsmanship throughout the garden. A magical spot that locals and visitors alike shouldn't miss. Worth every minute spent wandering through this enchanting green haven!

Pub
The Ribs of Beef is a charming 18th-century pub located near Norwich's medieval Fye Bridge. It offers a selection of real ales and classic pub dishes, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The pub features a small outdoor terrace by the riverside, providing an ideal setting for enjoying drinks during the summer months. Additionally, it hosts live music on Sunday evenings and regular quiz nights for entertainment.
Fantastic spot next to the river. If you can bag a spot downstairs, it's beautiful, too. All our beers were superb, and the waiters were helpful and even gave table service downstairs which made it even more enjoyable. Atmosphere was ideal - jolly. I would definitely consider this spot for lunch/dinner. We did t eat but the pizzas served smelled and looked great.

Nice enough pub, good location. They don't allow anyone in fancy dress in, not sure why as its not exactly a fancy pub, we asked the manager why and he didnt seem to really know either. Mischief and beer hatch were happy for groups so if you're in larger group I'd suggest those instead!

First time at this great CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2024 public house located right on the River Wensum by Fye Bridge. We sat inside but there is a seating gallery with sun umbrellas outside directly over the River. The pub has a screen or two for sports but they were not showing anything during our time there. Friendly bar staff and we spoke about how a Stout can be a great drink for any season of the year not just winter! We had two pints and two half pints of the lovely Nutty Ambassador Hazlenut Milk Stout by The Little Critters Brewing Company. The beer is top class and a very reasonable able price indeed. The pub serves alcoholic drinks other than real ale however it is rightly in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide, with nine hand pumps on offer, and the staff will let you taste and chat about the ales if you are undecided what to have or maybe you are new to ale drinking, making it a welcoming place to have a try. We didn’t eat this time but pizzas and other meals are available. The Pub has an excellent location and it was really enjoyable to watch kayaks, rowing boats and paddle boarders going past. A very chilled, mellow vibe going on Thank you indeed to the Staff and we will return!

Pub
Located in Norwich, the Adam and Eve pub is a legendary public house set in a former monastery brewhouse with a seasonal garden. It is believed to be the oldest pub in Norwich, dating back to 1240. The bar retains many original features from its 750-year history, including a Saxon well underneath the lower bar floor. The pub was frequented by workmen building the cathedral and offers traditional pub food with good service.
It is the oldest pub In Norwich and one of the oldest in Great Britain. It’s only 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral. Very pretty and quaint small building with very cosy and comfortable spots to sit inside and plenty of tables outside. I couldn’t resist having a glass of Mosaic pale ale and I liked it very much. The place gives you a touch of history and good options of different enjoyable drinks.

Nobody was actually in the pub as it was a hot summer day but the seating on the patio was very busy with a few tables available. It does not do food. Busy due to the historical significance as on of the oldest pubs in the country dating to 1249ad

Strangers' Hall is a domestic history museum located in a 14th-century Tudor house in Norwich, Norfolk. The building consists of interconnected rooms filled with period furniture replicas and various antiquities. It was opened as a museum in 1900 and now showcases over 25,000 household objects and donated items, including toys, board games, textiles, costumes, and more.
Had a wonderful experience last night on the Christmas through the ages guided tour. Very informative but relaxed and fantastic to see the house at night too. Beautifully decorated in each room/ period of history. Then mince pie and mulled wine to finish. They even had gluten free ones for me. Thank you to the guide and staff. Really stating to feel like Christmas now. Will definitely look for other activities they do in the future and visit the house .

As a resident of Norfolk I am ashamed of myself for not visiting Strangers Hall sooner! I took part in an art workshop here this month. It is a fantastically interesting and beautiful building, steeped in history. The museum staff are so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. A wonderful establishment.

This is a fascinating building. We only saw a part of it because we wandered in when we saw it as we were passing by while on a weekend trip to Norwich and it turned out to be a day that it wasn't open to the public. The staff there were getting their things together to go home, nevertheless we were invited to come in and look around the main hall while they were locking up and had a bit of the history explained to us. We would certainly have come back for the full tour another day, but were going home the next morning. Based on what we saw I would certainly recommend this place, but suggest checking the opening hours first to make sure it is one of their public days.

Fascinating place- so nice that Mr. Bolingbroke preserved and then donated it in 1923. It has very limited hours, though, so plan around that. I didn't purchase the guidebook they sell and found there was plenty of information without it- signage, laminated sheets, notebooks, wooden paddles as well as staff. The video in one of the rooms is also informative and well worth watching. If the weather is fine, the garden is very nice, too.

Really interesting place. We arrived an hour before closing and the ticket price was only £2, but it's definitely worth the normal price. The staff were very friendly and clearly keen to help. I liked that the experience was a mix of reading about the history and just absorbing the feeling of being in the house. The garden is also very nice and affords a lovely view back on the Stranger's Hall.

The is one amazing museum. You can see the different architecture and building styles as you walk through. The furnishings and art work in every room really show you how they lived back then. You can spend hours wandering the hallways and different rooms. Keep in mind there are quite a few stairs and uneven surfaces. So if you have someone with mobility issues they may just have to sit in the peacefulness of the back garden.

The Strangers Hall is fascinating and very well presented. So many rooms decorated in keeping with its age. I spoke to the guides scattered throughout the building and they showed secrets and hidden gems that you wouldn't notice by just walking through. Well worth a visit. Have been meaning to write this review for an could of weeks now! Just wanted to say what a lovely experience was had by all recently at the Norwich playhouse watching the amazingly funny Sir Mr Jack Skipper! The theatre is relatively small, but perfect for these smaller comedy gigs! Pre-show drinks were great, well priced, although I’ll never get over drinking a pint of lager out of a plastic cup! Haha. Great crowd, everyone smiling! Staff were great, everything well organised! Can’t wait to come again!

We were visiting the area yesterday, as we were on holiday for a few days. Walking past the theatre i saw a young girl.. possibly student, being very rude to a Coach Driver who was dropping young children off at the theatre. Where I live, we appreciate Coaches bringing tourists and visitors into our towns and cities. Obviously Norwich (particularly the theatre) is ANTI Coaches. You should really teach your staff good manners and good customer service skills.

A fantastic venue, pity about the prejudice. Not sure why the management team are so hostile to disabled people who use CBPM. All it takes is a bit of understanding and a conversation. A reasonable adjustment is exactly that. Hope you're able to be reasonable sometime soon. 💚🙏🏻🌱

The Playhouse is a fantastic venue in a quieter part of town. A great selection of drinks including no fewer than three gluten-free beers, although the only food available is a selection of candy bars. The decor is quite kitschy with retro toys on the shelves and a fascinating Norwich display on the ceiling. The staff are friendly and polite in both the bar and the ticket office. I mustn’t mention to forget the shows that are booked here! All of which a very high standard, both comedy and theatre.

Ashley P — Google review
Sunday morning breakfast has a lot of competition in the norwich area, so when William Florence was suggested I was really pleased to try someplace new (for me). I hadn't been in since it had changed names and owners. The first thing that greets you is the friendly, warm and kind service. it's one of those places where I got a genuine feeling of affection from the staff. this isn't just professional- it's just what they do! We ordered two hot chocolates (I was with the kids) and a mocha with oats milk (this is a recent change for me- try it- you'll never go back to milk) hands down this was amongst the top 3 best hot chocolates I've tasted in norwich and the top 5 best mochas' I've had in the same vicinity. They were both well mixed without an ounce of powderyness, served in a homely mug, with a rich- luxuriant mouth coating viscosity that just makes you go "aaaah". it's just great to be in a place that gets the simple things right. With this success we ordered the foods. I ordered the full english, we also had eggs benedict with salmon, the pancakes with yogurt and fruit and the French toast with blackcurrant compote. All of which you can see pictures of below. My full English was well prepared and arrived first- the plate reassuringly hot- nicely cooked eggs and crispy bacon. I object to the thimble sized baked bean receptacle- why the cheapest ingredient have to be in the least quantity I'll never understand. The bread was an average sourdough that felt a bit lacking, as was the sausage. the clear winner on the plate was the black pudding. it was just the right amount of spice, and cooked to a crispyness that was delightful. The eggs benedict were on smallish pieces of bread- but the eggs were perfectly cooked. although a smaller looking portion is hit all the taste buttons. It does (I'm sure you'll agree) look a little lonely on the plate. the real disappointment was the French toast. The toast was a little soapy in texture and a touch too dark for my liking. it's lack of sweetness or even delicate saltiness (they could have taken it into either direction) was exacerbated by the splurge of compote that had been ejaculated across the serving. This watery sea of tartness not only looked off-putting but was also a really strong flavour (see the picture) if you order this tell them you want the compote on the side! however if you are really into your French toast, go to Amelias in town- then again their chef is French... moving on to the pancakes, this was a wonderful mix of wet, fruity and American type pancakes. we had a discussion on the table as to whether they were store bought or made in the kitchen. I didn't ask, and the table remained firmly divided as to the answer. The pancakes were the best value, in terms of quantity to cost ratio. Slightly too many for the plate (which is exactly how you want pancakes served) Williams and Florence have a simple pub decor wich is clean and wholesome. however sitting near on of the large windows meant that we heated up quite a bit during the meal. Mostly becuase of the UV light that was bounching off the the warm comfyn furniture. I wish they would have turned on the AC or opened a window- but other than this it was very pleasant and the service was a high high standard throughout the meal. Would I go back? I would- but perhaps not for breakfast. I'd definitely give the lunch menu a try and then have one of their luxurious Mochas.

2 nd disappointing visit for a new 'local' resident. 1. A Saturday afternoon, girl serving far too interested in her group of friends sitting/standing at the bar, drinking not being served. Did not feel she wanted my custom. 2. Sunday afternoon, noone behind bar, manager taking bill from table, no problem. When he tried to serve me the 'waitress' gave him the phone and he then apparently took a phone reservation, no apologies to me - waited a couple of minutes and left, no sign of the second person 'serving'. Went up the road and got immediate service at another pub. Lesson - sort you customer service.

The location is the best thing about W&F. Ideal for people watching and a sunny outside drink with friends. What has always been disappointing for me in the many years I've come here, is the food. Breakfasts are usually ok, but the main menu is expensive, average, and inconsistent in presentation and preparation. My Caesar salad was just smothered in mayo, no actual Caesar sauce. My husbands smashed burger was disappointing. If they were 'smashed' they must have been tiny to start with! And the bun was so soggy it fell apart. My friends grilled peach & tomato salad was gross - no flavour, and the texture was unpleasant. Overall, very poor food for the price. Please, please overhaul your menu and 'chefs'!
Edwina J — Google review
I’ve been to this pub before once or twice and never left a review so I am now after this evening’s visit - I’ll try to keep it brief but I won’t make any promises. My memory of this pub before tonight can be summed up as ‘nothing special’; it’s an alright pub with some okay food. Today was a bit more mediocre. The service was quite slow, but the waiters were all very nice. The food took over half an hour to arrive (understandable for a busy pub only a mile away from a university but is longer than you’d expect to wait for a small bowl of halloumi fries) and the quality was inconsistent. The burger I had was one of the most spectacular creations I have ever eaten, I can’t believe how delicious just the cheese was. The starters were alright, the mains my family ordered were good, the desserts were disappointing. This may have been an unfortunate mistake but the tiramisu we ordered tasted like the cream/mascarpone had gone off - maybe the tiramisu is usually good and this was a bad batch - so it was supplemented with a free brownie (I didn’t eat it because I was full at that point but my sister and dad said it was good). If you don’t like salted caramel ice cream, try it from this pub because it’s so good it will change your mind. The cranberry juice I ordered was pale and diluted which was disappointing. So, the food and service were average but the atmosphere is what discoloured my evening (NOTE: this was due to a different customer and I do not blame the pub for this at all). A very pretty pub on the inside and out and the music is quiet enough to recognise songs you like but engage in conversation, but there was a seemingly drunk American near our table who was talking so loudly I promise you would’ve heard him from the street. Sullied the atmosphere with his slurring discussions on real estate, being friends with his siblings, and something to do with feet. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this pub for a ‘Top 100 Pubs in Norwich’ list , but I wouldn’t dissuade anyone from going there. Didn’t use the facilities tonight but from memory the toilets are nice.

Last Pub Standing is a lively and vibrant pub located in Norwich, offering a relaxed environment with live music, outdoor seating, and a diverse menu featuring everything from tapas to burgers. Despite its name, it's not the last pub on the list but holds historical significance as the only pub that remained open during the decline caused by the 1904 Licensing Act and World War II. The pub features a fully covered garden with purpose-built seating and heaters for all-weather enjoyment.
Amazing burgers, not over done nor over filled. Very tasty & great service. Good mix of people and a nice atmosphere.

Have been in a few times over the last couple of months, mainly for music and a few beers. Large outdoor seating area where they held music/ bands. Ale selection is good, staff are friendly. Tried the food for the first time on Thursday, had burger and dirty fries. Service was quick and quality was very decent at a very reasonable price. All food was lovely and fresh. Noticed they also served several takeaways while we were there. Will definitely be taking advantage of this in the future when unable to get to the pub in person.

Lovely cocktails and great beer. And if you get a chance, definitely get the homemade pork scratchings -- they're to die for. Pretty quiet when we went on a Monday evening, but still a nice atmosphere, the staff were lovely. Could do with some board games though, maybe...

Lovely roast dinner! I had the vegan roast dinner and my partner had beef. The mushroom, courgette and spinach wellington was delicious, as were all the accompaniments. Followed by a very tasty berry crumble for dessert. Highly recommended!

The name hints at its resilience, standing the test of time in a city known for its many historic pubs.

Had a great Sunday roast here for £16 really tasty and good value. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and I have to give a special mention to the team member rocking the Suicidal Tendencies hat. Nice touch! Will definitely be back.

Straightforward reservation through the website. Nice interior and the garden area, plenty of room for everyone on the busy Saturday afternoon. Food is good value for the money and service is excellent, especially Sarah, who is so welcoming with her genuine smile! Garden area mostly shaded, we liked the music in the background but garden can get noisy with more people enjoying their time. Great atmosphere throughout, we'll definitely be back.
BSnufkin — Google review
This pub has decent food and drink with good service, but the main attraction for me was the Monday night jazz night. Outstanding musicians in a cozy atmosphere provides for a lovely night out, but I recommend showing up a bit early to get a good spot, as decent viewing space is limited. A very nice landlord and beautiful barmaids also add to the charm of the pub, which offers various themed nights throughout the week/month. If I am ever in Norwich again, I would like to pay this spot another visit.

Pull's Ferry is a historic site in Norwich that holds great significance in the city's history. It features a restored 15th-century watergate and a 17th-century ferry house located along the picturesque riverside walk of River Wensum. The ferry house, named after John Pull who operated the ferry in the 18th century, was once used as a crucial point for transporting building materials for Norwich Cathedral from Normandy.
Lovely spot to visit if you enjoy feeding birds. Take some proper duck food. They love it. Plain oats and sunflower seed hearts go down a treat too. All much better for them than bread and crisps! Swans are a common sight here, along with mallards. Egyptian geese are frequent visitors and greylags show up from time to time. If you're lucky you may spot moorhens or a grey heron.

It was stunning as I saw two ducks swimming together and beautiful swans. Perfect for water and duck lovers. My first time going and beautiful if you could look past the duck poop.

Quaint 15th century gateway giving access to the river Wensum. The wide archway and round tower give it a distinctive appearance. There's good access to a riverside walk to Cow Tower and beyond. The gatehouse is in private ownership so not open to visitors.

Fab experience, had birthday bottomless brunch - what a wonderful time, would highly recommend. Adam and Dan were so attentive and made sure drinks kept flowing the entire time. Yep, Pizza is like a Chicago Town but fine as it's a bar not a restaurant, the carbs helped with the many cocktails! Huge thank you to Adam and Dan for making my birthday celebration extra special.

Great club, staff are welcoming and kind and lively atmosphere. Feel super safe there however I have tried to get into contact with some form of management there regarding a matter I wish to discuss further, but no answer from the phone and no reply from emails (checked spam). If there is any other way I can try please let me know :) Thanks

Great night at Bar and Beyond good atmosphere and staff very friendly, from Jordan the happy chappy taking my money on the door who was very welcoming, Adam who served me and was very quick and professional to Connor the chatty young gent collecting glasses who was a superstar and cleaned up a broken glass my friend had dropped very efficiently. Great night highly recommend 👌

Do not go here. me and my friends have been kicked out on multiple occasions when going to the toilet. The bouncers stand and watch people come out the toilet to falsely accuse them of doing substances. This happens every-time we go the staff don't even enter the toilet just wait outside and remove random groups for this reasons so they can let more people in and make more money. You pay for entry for the whole night and after an hour get removed for anything they can accuse you of. Greedy owners. Rude bouncers. This club ruins nights out.

Really fun night out for groups of friends and colleagues. We drank, ate, bowled and sung. Karaoke has a huge collection of songs. I was worried they wouldn't have any of my genre but was pleasantly surprised. Food was decent and in abundance. Glad to see they're doing well as they deserve it.

having a party upstairs and I have booked bowling around 8 for 9:20 had no problems at the desk even though I am 13 booking it at 9:20 but lady goes through with it anyway I have just been pulled aside by the same lady saying we have had to cancel your booking because no kids are allowed down past 9:00 really poor customer service no sign up either but other than that horrible experience I’m having an alright time and the drinks seem well priced
Arlo L — Google review
We hired the upstairs karaoke room as a student society from the UEA and we had a fantastic night: the venue was the perfect size for the large group of us, the karaoke system was properly designed and included a wide range of songs- unlike what some other venues offer in Norwich, the student discounts that they offered were enjoyed by our members, and the bar kept our society hydrated and excited! Moreover, the staff on duty that night, Freya and Arthur, were incredible at their jobs and friendly too! Thank you The Bowling House! We had a great night🤘

I had my 40th birthday party there and I can't thank the staff enough. They were all so helpful even in the insane heat we had that day! Also the bar manager was so kind and helpful helping me pick cocktails out for my party and making a special Hello Kitty cocktail for me. I can't rate this place enough. Great venue, amazing staff and delicious food and drink! Thank you for making my 40th so special, and I'm glad you liked the cat ears 😹

Bowling House undoubtedly deserves a 5-star review. The staff, whose names I regrettably didn't ask for, were exceptional hosts throughout our visit. The Bowling House staff which we’ll call the “awesome duo” went above and beyond, mastering a trifecta of entertainment. From the enjoyable and laid-back bowling experience to the inviting atmosphere and brace yourself for this—the absolutely sensational food! My initial expectation was smaller portions so I stupidly ordered extra, but lo and behold, the generous platefuls left us asking for takeaway boxes 😂 The nachos were beyond description—simply cracking “chef's kiss” The burgers were expertly crafted and tasted far better than I’ve had for a while a real treat for this chonky boi’s taste buds (I know my burgers😄) Every part of our experience was impeccably handled, making our night an incredibly enjoyable one. You guys smashed it so heres an extra five stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ and a fancy extra sixth one 🌟 for the chap that knows how to make ahold cocktail!
Colin B — Google review
A fun experience and great food! I feel two things could help improve the experience further. 1. Bowling screens... if the current bowler's name and score could be made larger, those with sight impairment could see their name from the seating area. 2. The slope leading to the lanes (passing the bar) needs a touch more light.

If you're looking for a relaxing place to watch football while in Norwich, The Coachmakers Arms is the perfect choice - with its historic setting and comfortable atmosphere, it's a great place to catch some games. Plus, the range of beers on offer is excellent, making it the perfect place to spend a few hours after work.
Big open fire, small menu but all cooked freash to order. Good size portion well presented. Great selection of beer straight from the barrel and price is very good too. Big open fire comfortable atmosphere, welcoming staff and locals. The Old coach part is covered with seats for extra space. There is a couple of TV for those who must but thankfully no sound, so conversation is key. 😊 thanks will be back next time we vist to this little gem. New is not always better and this is one excellent example 👏 And I think there is another for hire part up stairs?? You would need to check.

Great traditional pub with gravity poured real ales in tip top condition. Bar area is good with an outdoor area which was popular (it's a sunny day). The price of the ale was fair and the service excellent. The pub is about a mile from Norwich railway station and there are nearby hotels, restaurants and other pubs.

A really great city pub. We went for lunch on a Wednesday. The pub was nice and busy, and warm on a cold day. The menu here is very reasonably priced, and the food is excellent - I wished that I'd had the ham, egg and chips which looked delicious. Great selection of well kept ale and friendly staff who checked that the food was ok and said goodbye as we left. We'll certainly go back. Well done.

The theatre produces new family-friendly shows that tour the UK and internationally. With a rich history spanning over 30 years, it provides an excellent introduction to the magic of theatre. Visitors can enjoy the enchanting performances in an intimate octagonal studio that accommodates around 50 people.
Fantastic imtimate performance venue. Tiered seating means a great view for all. Facilities clean. Staff very friendly & attentive. Not much leg room in seats. On site bar, reasonable prices. No on site parking. Nice area outside to relax during intervals. Was very hot in there.

A unique experience, my daughter is 6 and didn't laugh as much the younger children. She still loved the magical bird and enjoyed it coming close to her. We had our wedding here 12/11/2023. We were very happy to have visited this little theatre, we were made to feel very welcome and a part of the show. From the foyer staff to the puppeteers everyone made us feel welcome. The show, pinnochio, was mesmerising and how they managed to get so much expression in the puppets is beyond me, suffice to say if you're in Norwich, have kids (or not ) you should make a point of stopping here for an hour or so ( they also have light refreshments )

Lovely natural woodland area very close to my home. I enjoy walking my dog and meeting other dog walkers and photo enthusiasts taking pictures of wildlife. I like to go out early in the morning when it's nice and peaceful.

Our favourite park! Although we live in the countryside, we always visit Mousehold whenever we're in Norwich. It’s perfect for long walks with lots of alternative routes to explore. Even on busy days, you can find quiet spots where it never feels crowded. The only downside is that some people don’t pick up after their dogs, which can make parts of the walk a bit unpleasant. Otherwise, it’s a lovely place to spend time outdoors
PAW P — Google review
I really enjoyed my time walking through Mousehold Heath. The same can't be said for the rodents I chose to carry in each hand. Their incessant squeaking was only a mild distraction as I strolled through the tranquil and scenic woodland. I'd recommend this place to everyone but take my advice and leave your small, furry cheese-loving pets at home - this heath is clearly not meant to be taken literally!!

Love to bring my family here. Decent side woods, very picturesque. Few fields for the kids to run around in, loads of steep slopes to climb, Really good familys, dog walkers, and mountain bikes. Even when it's busy you rarely bump into many people along the walks so always a pleasant trip. Car parking is fine. Big one near the entrance but several road side areas too. Usually ice cream van about too as a bonus.

Great dog walking spot in Norwich. Lovely up and down woodland, with hidden tracks, places to explore and some excellent canvases for those into their photography. Superb bit of escapism to be done here. I like to visit and let the dog run free at least once a week. Highly recommended!
Ross B — Google review
Fantastic place to walk! Definitely take boots of sturdy footwear as it’s uneven terrain (depending how off the track you go) and can be muddy. It’s beautiful heathland with loads of surprises, ponds, wildlife, flora etc. it’s very easy to get a little lost as there are so many intriguing paths to follow and explore, but the good thing is if you do feel lost, head in one direction and you’ll find a roadway soon enough as it’s actually fairly centrally located within Norwich. Great for mindful walking, afternoon strolls or just relaxing in the open air. Car parking- there’s a small car park in front of Zak’s diner, or some more a little further down just off Gurney Road.

I can't remember the managers name but she was amazing - even when we wanted to order a cocktail off the menu ... she new exactly what it was and how to make it. It was a busy night but the atmosphere was relax - good music and can't wait to return.

Visited today, one of my favourite cocktails was no longer on the menu, The Wee Beastie, however the barman still made it as fortunately had the ingredients. Just a perfect drink, I would love the recipe, so I can make it at home.

Place had no ice cream to do my favourite cocktail which was the only reason I went to the bar. It was 4:30 on Saturday and place was pretty empty. Who forgets to order ice cream for their busiest day of the week. Disappointed. We left straight away after that

Nestled in the heart of Norwich, The Mischief is a vibrant pub that perfectly captures the essence of a lively night out. Known for its spirited atmosphere and budget-friendly drink options, this spot is particularly popular among students but also welcomes locals looking for a good time. With themed nights and an energetic crowd enjoying chart-topping hits from the jukebox, it’s no wonder The Mischief has become a staple for many.
Very friendly staff, the fact they serve Blue Moon and Neckoil really flicks my bean for this place 😍 Hygiene of the toilets is a bit of a put off, you can smell them pretty bad from that half of the pub, needs an overhaul but assume its been like that for decades. Always finish a visit to Norwich here 🙂

3 of us ordered a kraken (spiced rum) and coke. We were impressed with the price, but none of our drinks tasted like kraken and a cheaper alternative. Unfortunately we won't be back anytime soon.

This place is BRILLIANT! Everyone is friendly including bar staff who are more than welcoming . Guy with the Mohawk was more than helpful and met the bar manager who was very friendly. Would recommend to anyone 🙏

If there’s a better pub, I’ve yet to find it. Good people, great selection, great seating, great music, amazing crew, and an all-around good time. This place is a hidden gem I stumbled upon while in Norwich. The river and bridge give this pub the perfect backdrop in the perfect town. The 1/2 pints will sneak up on you if you aren’t keeping track, but luckily there’s loads of music and other fun to be had to keep you entertained and coming back for more. I loved my time there and can’t wait to return one day.

Haven't been in this pub for at least 10 years. Had a really good night. The staff were great. And they had good offers on drinks. Head was a bit fussy in the morning.

This contemporary gay bar and club seamlessly blends a classy pub atmosphere by day with an energetic nightlife experience, featuring DJs and lively karaoke events led by fabulous drag queens. The venue boasts a unique charm with its converted barn, known as U-NITE, which hosts unforgettable club nights alongside an impressive drinks menu filled with enticing special offers.
We stayed the weekend with 6 people over 2 rooms (3 in each). It was so nice, clean, and comfortable. The shower was nice and strong, and plenty of bits for breakfast - including local bread from Kett's Hill bakery next door. It was also very quiet, considering the pub next door and the adjacency to the city. The pub is also lovely, friendly clientele and Tom behind the bar (he also showed us the room) was so sweet and kind. The pub and hotel are perfectly located, with a short walk into town, the train station, and the football stadium. The parking was also conveniently located, and the lodging area was secure. The price was great for the weekend, we would definitely stay again!

A really great place to stay! While it is in a roundabout the rooms are extremely well insulated for noise. A very comprehensive continental breakfast was supplied as well and the manager of the facility was super helpful!

Super accommodation option. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Very clean and comfortable, with lots of little handy extras for breakfast. Thank you!
Joshua D — Google review
View is off a roundabout from the window, room looks better on the inside then how it looks on the outside. man who checked us in was helpful but was still minor cleaning issues in the room that wasn't clean such as cobwebs and dead spiders and stained at base of fridge and bathroom had some limescale, minor update to decor needed in room as walls need a paint and shelving needs new wood and new tile on floor as had a crack in one and bar stalls need updating as rusty on metal. you had a hairdryer and ironing board and iron and a good continental breakfast for the morning plus a coffee machine which was ideal aswell as a kettle for the normal coffee sachets. On last night staying there building work was being done in a room with hammering and drilling, not good for a paying guest and wasn't even notified of any work being done, phoned up to complain and got told they didn't realise the builder was still working on the room, and asked him to stop, he stopped drilling but was still banging, but when said we wasn't satisfied to pay the full price, no discount was offered. Step was high for bathroom not good if have access needs or elderly. Television was okay to watch but something was wrong with the screen as a line was going down the side of it.

I enjoyed my stay here, room was clean and bed was comfortable, continental breakfast supplied in the room, bread, jam, orange juice and cereals. I feel the Internet photos don't do this place justice, it's better in real life, parking was a bonus. The pub itself is like a Tardus inside and the garden is a hugh Oasis, it took my breath away, would be great for parties and functions. Also, the drinks in here were cheaper then any other pub we visited in Norwich. A few minutes down the road is a sweet shop and fish and chip shop, further along is another pub on the river and the train station is walking distance. Walking into the town centre took us 15 minutes, but it was an interesting and lovely walk. Thanks for recommending the perfume to me and Beatle juice you looked amazing
Caroline C — Google review
We stayed at the castle Norwich on a Saturday night. We checked in with the bar staff and were shown the room which was separate from the pub itself. It was a lovely setup with kitchen sofa table etc as well as the bed. The whole place was clean and tidy. The bathroom was also nice with a power shower. We were left fresh bread and cereal for the morning. Also a tassimo machine with coffee and the other tea making essentials including a pint of milk and a litre of orange juice. After we had been out in Norwich for the evening (only 15 min walk to centre) we came back and had drinks in the pub and sat in the lovely garden area with heaters. We didn't brave the karaoke but it sounded as though everyone was having fun. We had until 12 the next day to check out which was great for us for a slow starting Sunday. There was also plenty or parking outside. Great find and will definitely come back when we are in Norwich again.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay in the hotel/lodging linked to the pub. Location was great; only a 20 min walk to the main city centre. The walking route takes you past the canal and cathedral, which was a bonus. Room was spacious and had a nice kitchen area. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. Room was quiet. We had to take care of a few spiders in the room and the TV was sub par. The bed mattress was definitely at the end of its life cycle. Would stay here again.

Fun and LGBTQIA+ friendly pub. Came here for a celebration and on many other occasions, the staff are friendly, drinks are fairly priced and the atmosphere is nice. Also had lots of fun going to the drag shows here! Has a really nice outside area, an underrated spot for sure so would recommend stopping by. Haven't stayed at the hotel so idk about that

Arboretum is a unique bar styled as an early 20th-century doctor's surgery, offering tinctures and live music. The establishment is owned by a former Norwich University of the Arts student and features locally-sourced drinks and an all-British wine list in a setting reminiscent of an antique store. Additionally, there is a man cave with a vintage 1940s vibe where guests can enjoy vintage-themed cocktails tailored to their preferences without the need for a menu.
We came here as part of the guided weird history tour of Norwich and it was brilliant. Really different. No set menu for drinks. You tell them the sort of the thing you like and they make it. I had a mocktail and it was delicious. Loved the decor and everything in there was for Sale. Great hosts too. 😄

Mystical from outside as you cannot see anything and have to knock on a door to be let in. Such a unique atmosphere inside with everything for sale. Tables, chairs, all antiques. No cocktail menu all made based on your likes and preferences. It has been definitely one of cocktail and experience. Loved it. Ps. Little outdoor area too with old school outdoor toilet.

I recently visited this exquisite British cocktail bar, and it was a delightful experience! The ambiance took me back in time with its authentic Victorian decor and the classic charm of an old pub. The cocktails were nothing short of spectacular, each one crafted to perfection with a unique twist. The bartenders were knowledgeable and passionate, adding to the overall authentic feel of the place. It’s not just a bar, but a journey into a bygone era. Highly recommended for anyone looking to savor the true essence of a classic British cocktail experience!

Visited Arboretum for my brother’s birthday after having a great time there previously. He was genuinely excited to check it out after hearing me talk about it. This time, we were denied entry because we didn’t know the “password.” Rather than being told outright, we were given the runaround, which felt like a passive way to turn us away. If you don’t want to let someone in, have the decency to say it directly. Hiding behind gimmicks like secret codes just comes off as cowardly. It left a bad taste, and we won’t be going back.

Really nice place, a bit tucked away but absolutely love the atmosphere. Lots of outdoor seating so very ideal for groups of friends that want somewhere lively for a couple of drinks and to hang out for a few hours 👍 Drinks are a bit more expensive, at £5 for a pint of Heisenberg (breaking bad reference) but to be honest it's not that bad for today's economy Also, this is primarily for younger people (college and university students especially), overall a real cool bar. The cozy establishment has recently been refurbished, making it more inviting for patrons. With a seasonal patio available, guests can enjoy their meals outdoors when weather permits. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, providing great value for money. The staff members are all fantastic, with special mention to the attentive waitress named Krystal who provided helpful recommendations on what to order.
Absolutely fantastic Greene King pub in Drayton! Plenty of parking (remember to enter your reg at the tablet inside). Decor is lovely, my partner really rated it! Plenty of seating on a Saturday in the 6 weeks holidays. Food was spot on for the price and served very quickly! Prawns were full of flavour, sausage and mash was bang on and highly recommend the special cheesecake. Will 100% visit again!

Have visited this pub a few times now- never sure why it’s so quiet, it’s such a nice pub, lots of table and chairs, and roast dinner is best I can find in the area. Always has nice music playing, shame it doesn’t get busier. Good to find a pub which does peroni, £6.60 a pint which I guess is a little in high side but pretty much the norm now.

A Fantastic Experience Under New Management! I recently visited this Greene King pub and was genuinely impressed by the transformation under the new management. The venue itself is absolutely huge, with plenty of comfortable seating both inside and out — perfect for families, groups, or just a relaxing solo visit. What really stood out was the staff. Every team member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The new manager has clearly brought a fresh energy to the place — very approachable, hands-on, and genuinely committed to making sure everyone has a great experience. The atmosphere was lively but relaxed, and the food and drinks were spot-on — great quality and served promptly. You can really feel the difference in how the place is run now, and it’s become a spot I’ll definitely return to. Highly recommend if you're looking for a spacious pub with great service and a positive vibe. Well done team!

Visited here on the spur of the moment for lunch so didn't book, however we were greeted quickly and shown to our table. The lunch menu was £12.95 for 3 courses, which was really reasonable for the quality of food. Service was quite slow, although it was busy but the staff were very chatty and friendly with us. Food was really good and we all cleared our plates. It was a light lunch so portions were smaller than the dinner menu but it was perfect for a lunchtime. Parking was a bit tricky as it the pub shares its parking with the village hall and so you need to put your registration into a touchscreen inside the pub when you arrive to avoid gettingba ticket, but its very straightforward. Would definitely visit again.

The City of Norwich Aviation Museum, located at the northern end of Norwich International Airport, offers a fascinating collection of mostly jet fighters and bombers from the latter half of the 20th century. The museum showcases British-made aircraft such as the Hawker Siddeley Harrier, SEPECAT Jaguar, Avro Vulcan B.2, English Electric Lightning, Gloster Meteors, and Hawker Hunters.
Amazing visit! such a friendly welcoming team & great value for money all round. Not a very big place but we were there almost 4 hours, stopped for cuppa too. I went with my mum & two older kids and they were captivated on the plane tours we booked for a few quid extra. Totally recommend booking these! Mark, Kevin & Nick were really enthusiastic, engaging & entertaining. I went unaware I could climb into a Vulcan, very exciting!! Impressed my mum got up there too. The Nimrod stole the show for me, wow amazing piece of kit!! An education that we all enjoyed. Thanks to you all at Norwich aviation Museum 👍
Becky A — Google review
Fascinating place, you can tell the staff and volunteers take great pride in the building and the exhibits. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, lots of interesting historical information about aircraft through last century, lots of focus on the world wars. Can even get up close and personal with a variety of aircraft in the outside area.
Abigail W — Google review
Had a fabulous day out here. Lots to see, the exhibition rooms just keep on going and they have a fantastic selection of planes outside. We recommend booking onto a tour. it's a very small fee and we got to go into a Vulcan! And later we went into the Nimrod. Both guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. All staff were lovely in fact and theres a little cafe as well. Highly recommend a trip out here.

This museum is interesting and informative with a good selection of aircraft and a number of themed exhibit rooms to wander around. There are tours of some of the larger aircraft like the Nimrod and Vulcan, you can get right up close to all of the aircraft. We had a tour of the Nimrod, a first for me, the tour was really interesting covering the history of the aircraft and its various versions and modifications and a lot about is various missions. There is also a really nice comfortable wee cafe with a good selection of snacks and beverages. All of the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, there is plenty of parking, the toilets are fresh and clean. A really good place to visit if you are in the area.
Alan H — Google review
What a little gem. We stumbled across it while driving on the A47. Got there at 12 and we were the last ones to leave. On arrival we booked a Vulcan Bomber and Nimrod guided tour for myself, wife and daughter at a very reasonable £3.50 per adult and £2.50 for a child (per plane) the guides were very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. On site are picnic tables for packed lunches. Inside is a little cafe with pre-packed sandwiches and cakes along with hot and cold drinks (all reasonably priced). All in all if you are into aviation and war relics from the 1900s to 2000s this is the place to come. We cant wait to come back when we are in the area. Keep up the good work!
Adam J — Google review
Our visit was completely by chance, having spotted some of the museum’s aircraft as we drove by. If you are a military or civil aviation enthusiast, history or heritage buff, model builder, engineer, photographer, relative of someone who served during WW2 in in Royal Air Force 100 Group or US 8th Air Force, or just someone who loves a museum jam-packed with interesting stuff, then this is definitely the place for you. Dedicated volunteers clearly work hard to make the museum a success, and will take the time to explain things to you, or lead you on a tour of aircraft and cockpits onsite. There is so much to read and so much to examine here, inside and outdoors. Admission fee is reasonable and parking is free. Check out the website for the guided aircraft tours on offer, and for upcoming events. Expect to spend at least a couple of hours onsite.
David R — Google review
Fantastic informative friendly museum. Recommend the guided tours (if available) which were amazing! A great way to spend a few hours also has a cafe with indoor or outdoor seating.
Paul W — Google review
We visited the City of Norwich Aviation Museum and while we did enjoy parts of our visit, there were a few disappointments. We were really looking forward to exploring the planes, but didn’t realise access was only available via guided tours — something that wasn’t clearly explained at the entrance. On the plus side, they had some great quizzes and activities for the kids which kept them engaged. However, the museum itself feels quite dated, and overall it wasn’t quite what we expected. It was interesting for a one-off visit, but unfortunately we won’t be returning.

The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is a Roman Catholic place of worship located in Norwich, England. It was established as the official cathedral church for the Diocese of East Anglia in the 1970s and boasts an education and interpretation gallery, a shop, and a cafe for visitors to enjoy. The landmark's construction began in 1882 and lasted nearly 30 years, resulting in magnificent stained-glass windows and imposing stonework that make it quite a sight to behold.
If I'm honest, I wouldn't be the most religious person out there. My wife and I were passing by en route to the Plantation Garden (right next door) and thought we'd pop our heads in. And we're so glad that we did. The outside of the cathedral is quite formidable, but nothing prepares you for the inside... it totally blew us away. Truly magnificent. I think the Catholic cathedral gets a bit overlooked by the other cathedral in Norwich, but give it a viewing. Amazing 30 mins we spent there.

✨Blessed Encounter at St. John the Baptist Cathedral ⛪️🫶🏻🙏🏻✨ On 11/10/2025, we were blessed to tour the tower of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Norwich 🇬🇧 with my children and dear friend. It was more than a cathedral visit—it was a journey into a living testimony of faith, history, and God’s divine plan on Earth. Our guide, with great kindness and passion, shared the cathedral’s rich history and sacred meaning. We came to see that it is far more than stone and wood—it is a monument of devotion, sacrifice, and love for God. To think that between 1882–1910, without modern technology, faithful hands built such a masterpiece is nothing short of miraculous. Every arch, carving, and stained glass window lifts the soul heavenward, reflecting the glory of God. As we walked its halls and admired its sacred beauty, we felt God’s presence surround us—humbling, inspiring, and uplifting all at once. From the top of the tower, the view over Norwich was the perfect crown to this blessed experience. This cathedral is not just a place to see—it is a place to encounter God. Truly a gift, a glimpse of heaven here on earth. 🙏🏻✨ All glory and praise be to God Almighty! ✨🙏🏻

Hard to believe this amazing Gothic cathedral wasn't built hundreds of years ago? Wonderful, uplifting and very accessible for wheelchair users! There is a modern entrance to one side called the Narthex. This houses fully accessible parish rooms, excellent disabled toilet, cafe and repository. Please note, the cathedral is not dog friendly. I've asked them to amend a notice in the newsletter saying dogs aren't permitted in the cathedral to "no dogs permitted except Assistance Dogs" because this is breaking the law. Assistance dogs are essential and in the case of deaf recipients, it's the only way you can recognise a person is profoundly deaf because many profoundly deaf people can't wear a hearing aid or cochlear implant. People recognise that the recipient is deaf through the Hearing Dog, and modify communication accordingly. The displays about the history of the cathedral is so interesting and one thoroughly enjoyed reading them. Lovely well stocked affordable repository. Cafe is a little expensive compared to many other places around Norwich; a latte £3.80 and a dry date slice (ok, a disappointment) £3.30. £7.30 for the two! Shocked. Spoilt my visit somewhat. To contrast with that, in the Walsingham Slipper Chapel tea room, I paid £2.50 for a big delicious homemade scone and £1.75 for a cup of filter coffee. Big difference! £4.25! If you're on a low income it really does make a big difference. It's wonderful going to Mass here. A lovely aura of peace.
Marika R — Google review
This great church was built between 1884-1910 to the design of George Gilbert Scott Jnr (finished by his brother John Oldrid Scott after his death in 1897). It is widely admired and considered one of the most successful of the thousand of Victorian reinterpretations of the Gothic style, showing a scholarly knowledge of medieval architecture and an attention to detail that were it not for the sharper condition of it's stonework this could be mistaken for an authentic 13th century church. This may sound like a praise of pastiche, but it is more than that, for I genuinely believe no other post-Reformation church so successfully captures the spirit of the middle ages as this one does.

I often come to this cathedral as I love looking at the architecture here. I have done the tower tour which I had prebooked online and it was worth paying for! The tour guide was friendly and so knowledgeable which made the already amazing experience even better. Also, all of the staff I’ve come across in this cathedral have been wonderful, I have no complaints about any experience I’ve ever had here. When I was last here looking around we had a lovely member of staff come up to us and gave us so much information about how the church works and also how it was built and why things are the way they are which was really interesting!

Truly beautiful Gothic cathedral which acts as the base for the Catholic community in East Anglia. Absolutely worth visiting as a tourist, and coming to celebrate mass as a Catholic!

A magnificent edifice fitting for the worship of the King of kings. It will fill you with awe. It us an architectural wonder and is as awe-inspiring as it is solemn. Every visit leaves one spell bound. The view from a distance culminates in a modern entrance to the church hall which is simply beautiful. It is a place to reconnect with the divine and savour the sheer brilliance of the architecture and aesthetics of the structure. I can't have enough of this church.

This really impressive building is "only" just over 100 years old, so very young compared to other Norwich churches, still, the guides have plenty of information to share. It is possible to pay to go up to the balcony level and up the tower, where there are some great views of the city and beyond.

Live music venue
Entertainment
Nestled along the picturesque banks of the River Wensum, The Adrian Flux Waterfront stands as a vibrant hub for music lovers and nightlife enthusiasts alike. Originally established in 1990 by Norwich City Council, this dynamic venue is now operated by the Union of UEA Students and has become one of Norwich's premier destinations for live performances.
Absolutely great little venue with a lots of music history. When lucky enough to see a big name gig you will be enjoying great Norwich crowd. DJ Shadow Action Adventure pt2 was a bliss

Wouldn't recommend this venue to anyone with a disability. You get cattlepenned to the side/back of the stage. You can't see much of the stage due to the speakers and equipment being in the way, and the fact that you're behind the speakers means you can't hear the music very well at all. It's muffled and almost completely drowned out by the drums. You feel completely disconnected from everything that's going on. Shocking that so little thought is given to this in a music venue!! Definitely won't be seeing any more shows here. Really disappointing!

I’ve gone to some great gigs here and been dragged to a few stinkers - but that’s nothing to do with the venue. I like it here. The sound is great, the stage is wide, low and intimate, and the bar is decent. The massive posts (which are obviously there to hold the ceiling up) are a massive pain though, and unless you are quite near the front, a clear view of the stage can be tough to find when it’s rammed. Damn those posts!

Really great sound, atmosphere and variety of gigs. What more can you ask for? Already booked my return.

We attended Day Fever at this venue, it was amazing!!

Great venue for seeing live music, and having some drinks. God service and fair prices. Plenty of toilets now there's some on the far side too. But the new ones have no mirrors, or at least that's the case in the female ones... I imagine they are still to come?...

Great place for a Gig,it is a little outdated, but the music sounded great! Really enjoyable night out.

My fave venue in Norwich. You get to see the bands up close and there's always a good atmosphere. Nicely stocked bar and ots close enough to the station so that you don't have to leave early to catch the last train.
