South Beach Lowestoft is a stunning destination that captures the essence of coastal charm with its golden sands and breathtaking views along the Suffolk Coast Line. This picturesque beach has long been a favorite among locals and visitors alike, offering an inviting atmosphere perfect for relaxation during the summer months. The area is steeped in cultural significance, having inspired renowned composer Benjamin Britten in his early works.
Lovely beach, golden sand and bonus of amazing sculptures, Walking Men by Laurence Edwards. Sadly the sculptures are only there till the end of August. We stayed in the Best Western Hotel Hatfield, right on the beach front. Spacious terrace and food and drink excellent and very reasonable. Room good. Worth exploring the area, Kirkley Village with its quirky, artisan shops. Recommend Desmond a one of a kind cafe offering hot, cold drinks and food in a cool, laid back artsy vibe. Its not pretentious, just friendly and comfortable. Also The Chippy, best fish and chips and great service.

Amazing clean beach. Soft sand. No dogs allowed on beach between April the 1st till the end of Sep. Volley ball nets are situated on the beach. Beach huts for hire. Lovely bar and restaurant by the beach too. This beach will be having a free festival of light 21st June. Many artists performing.
Sandy H — Google review
A spacious sandy beach only a short walk from Lowestoft rail station. The promenade boasts a decent selection of stalls if you fancy an ice cream or some fish and chips. You'll find public toilets in the reopened pavilion and in a block just past the pier. Keep an eye out for cyclists and mobility scooters racing down the promenade.
Clifford ( — Google review
Loved it as a kid,but visited this month and was very disappointed. Absolutely nothing there for the family. The pier looks like 6 been superglued back together. Most shops were closed in kirksby Village. Only place I would recommend is Perry's Fish n chip shop on Suffolk Road.
Mark B — Google review
South beach Lowestoft was absolutely lovely. The sand is soft and golden. The sea is clean. It was close to lots of local amenities. There were lots of benches and bins along the promenade. If you were entering the beach from the top promenade then there are ramps suitable for wheelchairs instead of taking the steps down. There are toilets including disabled. Also several kiosks selling buckets and spades as well as refreshments. There are lots of beach huts for rent and some are disabled friendly.

Water & Amusement Parks
Pleasurewood Hills Family Theme Park, situated near Lowestoft town, offers a wide range of thrilling rides and attractions for visitors of all ages. From adrenaline-pumping thrill rides like Wipeout and Fireball to family-friendly options such as Tales of the Coast and Snake in the Grass, there's something for everyone. The park also features a kiddie zone and entertaining animal shows like the popular Sea Lion Show.
Great place! Yes it’s a bit run down in places but it’s great value for money and I’m sure updating it further would drive the prices up. No queues, lots to do, there’s some great rides and we went with children ages 4 through to 12 years old and they all had a great day. Even us adults had fun! Sea lion show and circus were great, It’s so nostalgic having gone every year as a child. Love seeing a lot of the rides from then are still here. Fun day out
Roisin D — Google review
Awesome park for the price.. Every member of staff was lovely. I ve been to so many amusement parks and I felt staff here - really kept it alive and going. Yes some rides are old and slow but they also have some amazing new ones.. There is something for everyone no mater how tall or small. Did bumper cars after a long time.. Spinning teacups.. A big shout out to the animal handler for the sea lions as well as birds of paradise. She was very passionate and kind . Just those two shows make up for the price of the ticket I think.. the animals and birds are in great shape and it shows how much they are loved. And we all loved it too.. Best ride : Shiver me timbers! Went twice on a number of the rides Parking :3£ for the whole day paid via Ringo app or the reception.
Sinatra F — Google review
A great day out, I haven't been since I was a child so to take my kids was quite special! Only downside was the log floom was closed early on in the day for maintenance and never reopened. The park itself is great, but it looks quite tired and would benefit from some updates! I remember as a child a lovely boat ride with a story, sadly those little mellow rides for small kids don't exist. So if you plan on taking your kids, I'd aim it for 9+ so they can ride everything. As it's quite limited for smaller, young children.
Kate P — Google review
We’ve been coming to Pleasurewood Hills for the past few years, and the kids always have a great time – they aren’t too bothered about the appearance. The prices are reasonable too. That said, the whole park is really in need of some TLC. The train ride was disappointing, with nothing much to see other than broken fences and “behind the scenes” areas. A lot of the rides feel quite old now, and the excitement is starting to fade. The castle, in particular, has so much potential but looks tired and run down. It feels like each year the park is getting a little worse, rather than better. The staff don’t seem especially happy, though to their credit they are still very enthusiastic and welcoming when running the rides. I really hope the park gets the love and attention it deserves – it could be amazing again with some investment and care..
Samantha L — Google review
Great theme park. Some nice rollercoasters, but plenty for younger kids. There was a birds of paradise show and a sea lion and seal display. Food was pretty good and plenty of toilets dotted around. Plenty of parking too.
Greg R — Google review
If it wasn't for the fact that I paid to get in, I could have been an urban explorer looking around an abandoned theme park. Sorry (not sorry) this place is now an absolute disgrace - fallen from a lovely local attraction to a theme park that has been allowed to fall apart. So sad to see; lots of investment 11 years ago when we first visited but neglected since due to false promises, it seems, by 'Looping Group', the French company that bought the park some years ago. This company seem to be wringing the last possible finance from the park before it is closed. Some of the rides today were closed 'for maintenence' (which is a concern in its own right), staff were lovely, but it's pretty clear they are fed up. Plus points: 1. The park was open. 2. The staff were friendly. Negative points: 1. The park was open. Please (pretty please, with a cherry on top) someone tell Laurent Bruloy (owner of Looping Group) that his takeover of this theme park and subsequent management is the worst thing that could have happened in its history. Urbex (joke) pictures attached; these were taken today (1st August 2025 - peak season) while the park should have been in full swing.. zoom in to see the filthy condition of pretty much everything. To the person at Pleasurewood Hills whose job it is to respond to reviews; don't bother (I've read the copy/paste 'sad' to receive 1/5 etc..) forward this review to senior management before it is, truly, too late for you all.
Liam F — Google review
We visited Pleasurewood Hills during half term (Halloween week) with my wife and children, and while the rides were exactly as others have said — a bit dated and uninspiring — the animal shows completely blew us away! The Sealion Show – Absolutely Incredible! We started the day at the Sealion show and honestly, I didn’t expect to be that impressed — but wow, I was speechless! These Sealions were jumping to hit targets, balancing balls, and interacting so cleverly with the trainers. The energy was electric! The trainers’ passion and bond with the animals really shone through — you can tell they love what they do and deeply care about these amazing creatures. It was the perfect start to our day! The Bird Show – Unexpectedly Brilliant! Next, my youngest wanted to see the bird show, and though I’m not usually a bird fan, I was completely won over. The presenters (the same team as the Sealions) were bursting with enthusiasm and knowledge. When one of them brought the owl around the audience so we could see it up close, my daughter’s face lit up — that moment made her entire day. We’ve seen bird shows across the UK, but none come close to this level of connection and care. Just fantastic! Creepy Cave – Hidden Gem of the Park! Later, we stumbled upon the Creepy Cave, and again I was amazed. We were greeted by Jack, who was so warm, friendly, and clearly passionate about what he does. His knowledge of the reptiles and insects was brilliant. From the frogs to the chance to hold a millipede, it was such an unexpected highlight! I was disappointed to hear it’s only open for Halloween week — it deserves to be a permanent attraction. Final Thoughts Forget the rides — the real magic at Pleasurewood Hills lies with the animals and the people who care for them. The Sealion trainers, the bird presenters, and Jack in the Creepy Cave all made our day truly special. If I could personally thank them, I absolutely would. This park should focus on what it does best — the animal experiences and shows — because they are outstanding!
Paul G — Google review
We went yesterday to this place and we loved it.No waiting time to go on the rides which was amazing was able to go on all the rides over and over again. Would recommend everyone to visit this. Great value of money and lots of toilets and lots of places to have a picnic with friends and family.

The East Anglia Transport Museum, situated in Carlton Colville near Lowestoft, Suffolk, is a one-of-a-kind open-air museum that offers visitors the opportunity to view and even ride on historic modes of street transportation from the past century. The museum features trams, trolleys, buses and other vehicles from different eras. It's an excellent destination for families seeking both educational and entertaining experiences.
The East Anglia transport museum gives a real step back in time with trams, trolley buses and period buildings with old cars and faux shops with products from past like Steam rollers, electric milk floats and some commercial vehicles. You can ride on their trams, two are in service daily and the vehicles are rotated every day. A trolley bus is in service and small train to go on. All the staff volunteers very helpful with knowledge of the place. They have two small cafes both reasonable price and toilets are clean and tidy. Well worth a visit 10/10
Gary — Google review
A lovely little place, full of charm and charisma. There were 2 trolley buses and 1 team to ride today, a first for me. There aren't too many exhibits, but what is there is accessible and oozes charm. The volunteers are a delight, and make the whole place feel very charismatic. An absolutely lovely step back to a more gentle time in history. Well worth a visit.
Peter S — Google review
We spent a wonderful day at the East Anglia Transport Museum. The collection is large and very well presented, and the whole site is designed so thoughtfully that it really feels like stepping back in time. Old shops, a post office, and other period buildings create a unique atmosphere of the past. The highlight for us was being able to ride the historic vehicles - a train, tram, trolleybus, and bus - it brought the whole experience to life and made it unforgettable for the children. You can easily spend a whole day here as a family, there is so much to see and do. It’s also clear the museum is developing and growing, with more locations opening soon, which makes us want to come back again. A truly remarkable place that combines history, education and fun. Highly recommended!

We had seen amazing photos on Facebook, so we decided to visit - just over 2hrs travel time from Southend-on-Sea.... we visit Crich Tramway Museum in Derbyshire so came to compare and revisit some nostalgic memories. We were not disappointed. The layout is compact, but the volume of rides, waiting time, and Museum exhibits means that there is a lot to see. We also had a ride into Lowestoft on the RT. Well worth the entry fee, go visit.
Roger N — Google review
We arrived before 11am and purchased ticket without hassle. It offered a year to revisit as if you are paying for gift aid. Kids below 5yrs old is free and we got on every transport for free. There also a stamp collection for kid to exchange a lollipop in the cafe. We tried electric bus and open roof bus, train and everything was amazing. We also had tea in the Cafe. For the price for those foods are amazingly good and friendly workers. We will revisit for sure. Thanks.
Serene D — Google review
We went along to the transport museum for a special event. We also had the luxury of being driven to the museum in a 1965 coach, which was a treat and great fun. . There was an open air concert. The band were very good All the buses, trams and railway were fun to go around on. The shop displays and car displays are very well done. It was a fun day.
Hazel H — Google review
Great morning seeing all the old vehicles and buses, not an all day thing. Took us about 2hrs to get round. The volunteers do a great job.

The Lowestoft Maritime Museum, located in Suffolk, England, is a charming and award-winning museum dedicated to showcasing the rich maritime history of the region. Despite its small size, the museum boasts an extensive collection of maritime artifacts including medals awarded to Royal Navy and RNLI personnel, marine art, ship models in various scales, tools from Lowestoft's shipyards, and fishing paraphernalia.
This was a interesting visit as I also saw paper cuttings and a painting of one of my family members so I am very proud they are having these on display , very friendly and warm welcome 🙂

Certain areas of the beach are favored by locals for these activities.
Beautiful beach, we enjoyed watching the jetskis. Dog friendly when we visited in April. Fish and chips were great in the pier
Sue H — Google review
This pier is just front end adjoining a very nice promenade with cafés and pubs etc. The town is a little run down looking but most of your normal shops are there.
Jeff B — Google review
A very small pier but there are plenty of slot machines to keep the children entertained. I've given an extra * because all the staff really spoil the young children (prizes etc)
Peter P — Google review
There is a pleasant bar on the pier serving good food, and the staff are friendly. The amusement arcade is worth a visit too. Unfortunately, the pier itself is inaccessible due to years if dereliction, and parts of it are in something of a ruinous condition. I like to think if the businesses at the shore end thrive the owners will get the rest of the pier restored and reopened.
Al — Google review
I absolutely love this venue, Still a recent take over the new owner have done nothing but move forward and improve the venue, Being able to walk out onto the pier is beautiful and so nice after many years of being closed. There was a night club there which I had the chance to visit but I've since learnt its closed that's not an issue though there is a couple of bars here to still enjoy a pint and some music. The arcade is clean and incredibly interactive and up to date. I definitely recommend a visit

The chips were the worst I've ever had. They had no colour , some were still hard in the middle. They were so bad I took them back.

Park
Nicholas Everitt Park, located on the scenic Oulton Broad, is a delightful green oasis that invites both locals and visitors to unwind. Originally part of a private estate owned by Nicholas Everitt in the late Victorian era, it was later gifted to the town by philanthropist Howard Hollingsworth after Everitt's passing in 1908. The park features an array of family-friendly attractions such as a boating lake, trampolines, and crazy golf—perfect for summer fun!
We stayed in Lowestoft over Christmas and Nicholas Everitt Park was two minutes from where we stayed I visited this park every morning after breakfast for my daily exercise and walked the whole perimeter including Oulton Broad. I absolutely loved this place and the best part of it was the Wildlife which consisted of Swans Gulls ducks Squirrels lots of Songbirds Crows and Cormorants which were amazing to watch. The park is clean and beautiful to walk around its full of trees and right on the waters edge a real lovely pleasant and scenic place to spend some time. We found a little shop close by that sells bags of food for the birds and swans for £1 so we bought a lot and went every day to feed the birds which was highly amusing as it caused a frenzy as a race for the food became a daily habit. There’s lots of friendly little Robins in the park too who love to be fed we took mealworms and they came right up to my feet. People were friendly and Oulton Broad was really chilled and a nice place to walk around there’s a lovely cafe there and I look forward to returning as the wildlife was everywhere which is wonderful to see as it was incredibly peaceful and restful. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Probably the prettiest place I've ever been, going in the week alot was still shut but it's a beautiful walk with so much to see, lovely views and even friendly squirrels who come over for food. Also a decent park for the children. Highly recommend if you like a peaceful walk, a light lunch or just a few hours exploring

This beautiful park is a must-visit when you're in Lowestoft. It's equipped with a bandstand for summer entertainment, a fantastic children's play area, and is conveniently located near Oulton Broad for watersports.

Day out at the power boat racing, free and fun. Away from the racing it’s just a nice place to wander and relax or fish. Food, ice creams and beer on sale and a small tackle shop. There is also a decent amount of pay parking which is a nice wooded area in its own right.

Wonderful park, dog friendly, a big space with places to eat, have a nice walk, run, cycle, or just sit, relax and enjoy the moment.

Nestled within the picturesque Nicholas Everitt Park, the Lowestoft Museum is a treasure trove of maritime history and local heritage. Housed in a charming flint-faced building dating back to the 17th century, this museum showcases an impressive array of exhibits that highlight Lowestoft's rich past as a fishing village and its significant contributions during World War II. Visitors can explore fascinating maritime artifacts, including medals awarded to Royal Navy personnel and RNLI members, alongside captivating marine art.

What a find. This museum is housed in an old house. Run by volunteers who were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We arrived by motorbikes and they very kindly looked after my husband's helmet whilst we looked around. The volunteer who greeted us was a young man who was so professional in the way he explained the museums layout and gave a brief history. The museum is housed over two floors and has many interesting and well presented exhibits. Very well laid out and informative. Definitely worth a visit and it's free. Will be coming back again in the future

Richardson's Family Entertainment Centre in Lowestoft is a fantastic hub for family fun, nestled in the vibrant Suffolk seaside town. This lively venue offers an array of activities that cater to all ages, including 14 ten-pin bowling lanes equipped with automatic bumpers for players of every skill level. Families can enjoy glow bowling and explore the exciting Richies Adventure Island soft play area while parents unwind at the Cityscape Bar or savor delicious meals at the Galley Diner & Restaurant.
Have visited on multiple occasions and can genuinely say it's one of the best bowling alleys we've been too. It's kept very clean, the staff are always very polite and friendly, they have a good selection of bowling balls and a well sized soft play for little ones. They also have several pool tables and other amusements which is all reasonably priced, and a small bar with a decent selection of drinks. I would highly recommend visiting and we will continue to do so (whenever we have the time!)
Sam B — Google review
Excellent bowling at reasonable rates. Bar prices very cheap with spirits from £2.50. Plenty to keep little man happy (aged 5). Ample car park. Only criticism is tv volume so loud could not talk whilst playing bowls or sitting in bar. Only party in bar for over an hour and a half, but bar staff stated management orders dictate full volume throughout centre whilst euros were on despite only them watching it. Visited 16.00hrs till 19.30hrs on a Saturday evening.

It was great fun, plenty of space, we had lunch too, basic but well cooked, ladies in restaurant area work hard probably need another staff member although didn't have to wait long, and table available in another restaurant towards the back. No one to clear tables or look at the toilets. The only issue is the parking, very limited, we had booked lanes but had to sit in car and Hope another family would leave soon

Nestled on Yarmouth Road, The Foxburrow Beefeater is a delightful pub-style chain that specializes in grilled meats and international favorites. Head Chef Pete suggests trying the Mixed Grill, particularly if you're craving juicy steaks during your visit to Great Yarmouth. For family-friendly options at home, the Smothered Chicken is a hit—featuring tender chicken breast topped with melted cheese, bacon, and BBQ sauce.
Had breakfast here after a night in the Premier inn (which was also perfect). The breakfast was spot on. Cooked fresh, plenty of choice and as much as you want!! I couldnt of cooked it better myself. Compliments to the chef. Good quality ingredients. Thanks 👍

With a superb choice of breakfast options from pastries to cereal, to toast and preservatives, fruit and yoghurts or why not order a cooked breafast, they have something to cater all appetites. Unlimited tea, coffee, juice, could you ask for more? The cooked breakfast was well cooked and you just order what you want 😉 A good way to start the day 🙌 😌

Lovely restaurant, lots of parking, clean, good service & amazing food! Steak highly recommended! They asked about allergies as soon as we arrived and provided the allergen menu. When ordering, we were asked who had the allergy to ensure food was cooked separately. Very impressed! Although, I would recommend adding more gluten free options to the menu as they were very limited.

First impressions are not great, walked in after booking a table for four over the phone, to a musty smell , the place appeared clean but unloved. Stood waiting at "wait here to be seated " point for what seemed like 10 mins but probably only 5 , ended up walking around trying to find someone and by now having second thoughts as the place was not busy so it can't be that good ?? , after getting fed up had a look on the computer myself (no locked screen ) tut tut !!! We took ourselves to a table and met a staff member on the way , we mentioned the computer said we were on table 27 ? And he replied , that's just randomly generated you can sit wherever you want to . We sat down ordered drinks browsed the food menu and ordered food expecting the usual pre cooked re-heated quality which usually comes with this sort of establishment, BUT........HOW WRONG WAS I ... the food that turned up was of fantastic quality and you could tell they took pride in what they were serving as it was also well presented , cannot fault in any way !!! Would return here without hesitation, if you can overcome the initial fear and inevitable misconceptions when you walk into this place then you won't regret persevering

Pub
Nestled just a stone's throw from the beach, The Spring Tide in Lowestoft is your go-to destination for a delightful dining experience. This family-friendly pub offers an extensive menu that caters to all tastes, whether you're in the mood for a light lunch or a hearty dinner. With two play areas for children and an inviting patio area perfect for al fresco dining, it’s an ideal spot regardless of the weather.
First time coming here since we moved to Lowestoft, and although it's a little pricey, the food and service were immaculate. I ordered the Beer Battered Fish and Chips, a pub classic, and it tasted fantastic. Not to mention, the portion sizes were very generous, too. We spent just over £50 for 2 starters and 2 mains and a couple of drinks each. It's definitely not the cheapest around, but the service and food more than make up for this. Overall, I'll definitely be back in the near future. Thank you for a very pleasant experience!
Nikki L — Google review
It was a lovely experience. We had young children and were sat near the play area, so could see the children outside from our table, meaning they could enjoy themselves, whilst me and my partner could enjoy some adult time to talk all things adult. The food was delicious and the children ate their meals in their entirety. The team were brilliant and our waitress was so welcoming, friendly and attentive. will definitely be returning.

Quick service from beginning to end. Food was typical pub grub. But enjoyed immensely I didn’t want chips and asked if I could have some salad. It was delicious not the typical leafy salad. Staff were very attentive. And the 40% discount was a bonus.

My wife and I booked a table for the Steak night. The booking process was completed online however I had forgotten to specify the dog friendly area so I gave the establishment a call. They adjusted my booking accordingly with no fuss at all. We arrived in time for our booking and the greeting was very friendly with the staff making a fuss of our dog, offering a bowl of water for him. We were given good time to look at the menu and ordered a drink before eating. Drinks arrived promptly and we placed our food order. The meals arrived to our table quite quickly and the staff offered us other condiments. The quality of the food was outstanding! The steaks were cooked to perfection and were top quality. We would have no hesitation recommending the Spring Tide to anyone visiting Lowestoft in the future.

We come here fairly regularly with our pup. We both love the chicken kebab meal, I did have the curry on curry night once and wasn’t overly impressed due to lack of sauce in the dish. In every visit we’ve made, the staff have been exceptional! Every single member of staff we have met has been smiley, friendly and welcoming. Thank you.

The food was delicious, the staff were polite, friendly and approachable, the restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed. I cannot fault anything. I always enjoy coming to Spring Tide Lowestoft. It was my mums first visit and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything was spot on! I especially love that you can take your dogs to dine with you. Thank you for a lovely time 😊

Food was lovely and hot as always but the service was poor due to one new blonde girl on orders taking an awful amount of time to get our food order taken, there was only 2 of us and we both kept looking at the workers hopefully to be served as we had to wait 30mins to order our food, when she finally got told to go and serve us by a older looking women who was lovely, the same girl from before went up to us and asked us if we have ordered our food and we responded with no, she walked away again to back to the counter to stare at it and go to our table just to give us awful service, no manners or customer service. After finishing our food we had put our plates at the end of the table to hopefully hint we want them picked up and to order dessert but that wasn’t the case we had to wait another 15mins for her to return to our table, after watching her walk in and out of the kitchen empty handed multiple times. Awful service, hopefully next time we get a nicer worker servicing us as we left very disappointed, hopefully the worker who served us learns how to give proper customer service to her customers.

East Coast Cinema, located on London Road South, offers a nostalgic movie experience with its old-fashioned setting and four screens showcasing the latest Hollywood releases. The cinema is situated near popular attractions such as Claremont Pier, South Pier Family Entertainment Centre, Richardson's Family Entertainment Centre, Waterlane Leisure Centre, and Merkur bingo hall. Visitors can enjoy a local atmosphere and reasonable prices while indulging in popcorn, sweets, and soft drinks at the lobby.
Our favourite Cinema. Some of the theatres are tiny but this genuinely adds to the charm. It doesn't detract from the viewing experience either, with lovely clear screens and fantastic audio. Great value too, usually around £6 a viewing. This place deserves all the support it can get.

Really lovely independent cinema. There’s parking quite close by which is a little expensive but nothing crazy. The cinema has very reasonable tickets and incredibly reasonable food and drink prices. The staff are friendly and the actual seats and cinema is amazing quality. I really recommend this!
Athiene M — Google review
This is such a wonderful, quirky little cinema, built around the 1920's I believe, which my husband and I have passed many a time on our holiday breaks, but now as we actually live nearby we decided to go here to see a film. Well we were in screen 4, which is all I believe this cinema has (4 screens), it had 28 seats and we were the only two in there. You can order tickets on line, they are reasonably priced and husband whose a tad over 60 got in cheaper, you then type in the sent code into a machine in the foyer to retrieve tickets. Seating is where you want to sit, not allocated and they also serve hot and cold drinks and snacks, reasonably priced in the foyer too. Will definately be coming here again, use it or lose it.

The East Coast Cinema was a lovely place to visit. The seats were lovely and comfortable. We went on a Sunday morning and got an early bird ticket for only £4.90, which was great value. The staff were polite, friendly, and very helpful.

To my family and I this is what going to the cinema is all about . A fantastic selection of films, outstanding customer service and value for money. A cosy cinema with just the right feel to it , this has everything the larger cinemas can never regain , with charm and that personal touch. Polite, considerate and professional staff. Having just enjoyed the Avatar 3D experience we look forward to our next family cinema outing soon .

My partner and I came to the cinema in the very early afternoon to see a film, and there was a minor mishap with the screen not having the film we were there to watch. The manager was the one my partner ended up speaking to, and he was very effective in how he addressed the situation. The manager got us into a different screen which had that film in its database and skipped the adverts for us so we could see the film quickly as we had been waiting for twenty minutes before my partner suggested enquiring as to why the film hadn't started as yet. The manager was so kind and very communicative all throughout the process and checked up on the screen to make sure the film was playing once all was said and done. He later thanked us for our patience, which was incredibly kind of him as we didn't feel anyone was at fault for the situation. Such a lovely timeless and always immaculately tidy place which I've been visiting since I was a child multiple times a day, and the manager is just incredible.

Perrys is a fantastic fish and chip shop located just off the main shopping area in Lowestoft, making it convenient for those spending time at the beach. The restaurant offers three sizes of meals with a variety of options including fish, chips, sides, bread & butter, and tea or coffee at reasonable prices. Visitors praise the friendly staff and highly recommend this spot for its amazing fish and chips. Customers are impressed by the freshness of the fish, crispy batter, and perfect chips.
Large Cod & large chips were delicious! Cod was perfectly cooked. Highly recommend this place.

Well what can I say, the food was fantastic, all cooked fresh to a very high standard. There was 7 of us so quite a big order but was cooked very quickly and all nice and hot ,. The children had fish and chips, a very generous portion, and we were even given a curry sauce on the house. The best chop shop I’ve ever been to 5 ⭐ will definitely be back . Top notch quality food.

Great fish and chip shop just off the main shopping area in Lowestoft and the right end of town for those on the beach. We were away for a couple of days and fancied fish and chips. Perry's came up as a very popular one so we drove there and were not disappointed. Everything was freshly cooked and hot. The service from the guys behind the counter was really welcoming, helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend here.

Very good. Surprisingly good you walk in and it's all a bit gloomy but the staff are quick and efficient, you can grab a pint in the pub next door while it cooks and when you come back, if you've spent enough you get a bottle of coke for free. Nice touch.

Excellent fish & chips. Had standard meal at lunchtime, £10.90, cod, chips, mushy peas and a hearty mug of tea. First class, fried to order. Can't beat a fish on the coast. Any fresher and it would still have been swimming. 5⭐

Me and my fiancé have had fish and chips from here a few times before, decided we fancied some this evening. We ordered at 5pm ish, the food was delivered to us about 30 mins later! The delivery driver was very friendly, and the food was hot, fresh and very tasty! We will continue to order from here.. Highly recommend!

This place begrudgingly let us sit on the entrance chairs to eat our £50+ order of food after refusing to let us sit at a table in their "restaurant" because the floor had been "mopped" (it looked filthy). When metal cutlery was asked for to replace the flimsy 2 inch wooden spoon they gave, again they said no, because it was all clean and packed up. Food was totally average and condiments like mayo were poor quality.

An intimate, small theatre with a historic building. They don't put on loads of shows but every one is immaculately rehearsed and very professional. Good value tickets and really high quality shows for an amateur theatre. Small bar, coffees and ice cream tubs.

The most easterly theatre in the UK. It is a refurbished Bethel (seaman's mission). The Lowestoft Players are amateurs with a professional character. On line booking available. My only gripe is I was unable to book the two seats I wanted without reserving the remaining single spare as well but purchasing a juvenile instead of adult ticket was not too much of a wrench and assisted the theatre funds. No immediate car parking but multi story or open air 5 minutes walk away.

Lowestoft Ness Point is the easternmost point in the United Kingdom, marked by a ground marker displaying distances to various places around the world. It offers a unique experience of being the first place to see the sun rise on summer solstice day. Despite its proximity to an industrial estate, it boasts a lovely atmosphere with about 60 people gathering to witness the sunrise. The area features a compass showing the easterly point and distances to different capitals as well as Sealand.
Most easterly point of Mainland Britain. Cool feature of distances to many western cities and countries on the circular dial install. Its a visit to say that you've been.
Jermaine N — Google review
Little landmark marking the most eastern point of the UK. Take some pictures and read all the blurb and then you can say you've done it. Some of the tiles seem to be missing, so it might be in need of a little maintenance. Advise taking the scenic route along the coast rather than through the industrial estate (even if the wind turbine is interesting to walk around).
Tom D — Google review
If you are interested in being at the most easterly point in England then this is the place to be! Tucked away behind the birds eye factory on an industrial estate, looks like at some point it was made quite fancy but now a bit run down.
Hamish C — Google review
It's disappointing due to vandalism Parts of the display were missing. Its a shame that a bit more of Ness Point has not been provided to make the public more aware of it's significance.
Willem H — Google review
I liked the slightly isolated feel of Ness Point. The park area nearby has been beautifully designed. The industrial area gave it real atmosphere and the dial with the equinoxes and distance to various places was interesting.
Sarah A — Google review
Not really an attraction, but it's the most easterly point if the UK and it's got a big circle telling you distances to different counties. Go there more to say you've been the the eastern point.
Scot W — Google review
Great promenade to walk along the beach in Lowestofte! This beach is one of the most accessible I have seen along East Coast, with multi tear beach hut options, multi car parks, wheelchair/mobile aid path up along the beach, smooth wide path miles along the ocean. Secret gem - will be back!
Jess H — Google review
Strangely at the back of an industrial estate and behind the Birds Eye factory but least it's easy to find. The area has a cobbled street effect so you know it's different to the industrial estate. The plaque had a piece missing around the edge when I was there. Still able to see other areas and distances. Worth a visit but if looking for other things to do....there is not a lot apart from looking out to sea or at factories behind you.... enough info to say you have been there and what the area is...so tick another part of the world completed

This festive season there’s a pop up real ice skating rink at Pirate Pete’s. My partner and I went the day after Boxing Day for a date without our baby. He had pre booked online and the tickets were £13.50 per adult. I personally think these are London/more commercial prices and for something like this £10.50 would be better. There isn’t a separate entrance so when you enter you directly are within the soft play reception. The ice rink itself is through a decorative tunnel and into the soccer room. There’s a lovely Xmas tree in the middle of the rink and I found the decorations really lovely. A note for improvement would be play Christmas songs not club music! The ice itself were chipped especially round the edges which caused beginners to be too scared to skate properly and staff began hacking away at it during the ice skating session which was a bit awkward. All in all something nice and different to do but definitely not for £13.50!

We love adventure Island we are regular goers and have had birthday party there. They provide great activities a few mornings a week, equipment is cleaned (hard to reach areas that no one can get to is dusty understandably) but everyday play areas are clean slides, ball pit balls, and the walkways are cleaned regularly. The cafe is brilliant reasonable price and done on site, cakes are delicious! Our party ran smoothly with a party person assigned to us who took the stress away from us. Great prices, fantastic team, clean. It is in a warehouse which can make it cold and they do try and make it warm but with running around with the kids you warm up quickly anyhow. We have also had opportunities to see a dentist there which was organised by the team, meet santa along side seasonal activities that are provided! A real assest to our community!

Have used this for a couple of years with my now 4 year old grand daughter. Can get a little crowded but never too busy for us not to use it. There is a cafe counter, prices reasonable, as a captive audience, but areas visible and tots area close by the seating, so controllable. No problems with hygiene noted but always careful to cleanse after a visit. Continuing to use
Shaun R — Google review
Visited today for the first time with my young family, we were super excited as it looked great online from the pictures. We arrived and were so disappointed by the hygiene the softplay equipment doesn't look like its been cleaned in years full of dust on all the slides and pirate ship flag near to where we were sitting. The steps of the softplay had lots of rips and tears and looked like it needed a major revamp. It was also so cold in there like they didnt have any heating on. Due to these issues I wouldn't recommend at all, we had to cut out trip short because of it. Won't be returning again in the future. It's such a shame as if the equipment would be in a good state of repair and the cleanliness was there it would be such a great softplay centre.

Wow......rudest staff I have ever had the misfortune to come across. My grandchildren have always enjoyed visiting this place (when it was called Pirate Petes) but honestly the staff are so rude and not much fun for the children Seriously thought all of the children were going to collapse with heat exhaustion as there aren't any fans anywhere and they don't have air con Such a shame as the actual play area is very good Had to give 1 star to leave a review!
