Had a quick drink here at the end of a day's travelling and sightseeing and it was perfect. Great for a summers evening - there were fairy lights, music, and good drinks. Lots of food options too, but we didn't eat.

I always love coming here. It’s always a great atmosphere and vibe, and I love the outdoor bar and grill! Really cool. Plenty of seating and outdoor facilities in the summer! Great selection of drinks and food too. Staff are really friendly and helpful and keep the place nice and clean and enjoyable for everyone. Will be coming back!

Funny place, nice staff, unfortunately you dont see the water. The restaurant upstairs a bit stuffy.

I loved this place. The old school music from the late 70s was excellent. The Ramones, The UK Subs, The Clash. The bar downstairs in the hull was a treat, and the Guinness was spot on. The young man who served us was friendly and chatty with good banter, an absolute joy. The seating area outside was huge, I was gutted there was no live music on the night we were there. I wish we had one of these moored on the River Tees back in Boro.

Charters (and East) have always been firm favourites but even more so after the exemplary service received by Louisa at Charters this weekend. We held a surprise 30th ‘gathering’ at Charters to celebrate my partner’s birthday and Louisa couldn’t have been any more accommodating (despite it also being the day of the Great Eastern Run!) From speedy response to my initial email contact, to helping me navigate the cake to the birthday boy on the day, Louisa’s professionalism and patience was ever present and greatly appreciated. Thank-you Louisa and team, you were just fabulous!

Aimee has been an amazing host to our table. She was very observant and never left us waiting without. She had a very cheerful approach and was always there to suggest options to us and give us guidance on the menu. A valid member of staff who meets all customers needs to a high level. This place lives up to its high rating! I tried to resist going to this place since, from the outside, it looks a lot like the touristy places we have in Miami. But the food blew me away, I had the Curry Goat Hash. Can you use the word sublime with a dish like that? Every component of this dish was done perfectly. Inside it has a upbeat vibe and nice eating outside too.

Our time at Turtle Bay (Peterborough) was amazing, from the service to the absolute best food to Keira gentleness, good attitude, well service, everything was perfect. We did enjoy the cocktails and jerk platters. Well definitely come again. Thank you Francois and Nathalie

First time here, celebrating a 45 year wedding anniversary just myself and hubby. Staff friendly and attentive; nothing too much trouble. Mel in particular was an absolute diamond. She made our night such fun and looked after us so very well. Thanks Mel, what a lovely young lady with a huge smile and full of life. I blame the 2 4 1 cocktails for making me forget to take photos of the scrumptious food on delivery! We had chicken wings to start followed by the Sharing Jerk platter both well recommended 👌

What a fantastic way to spend a lazy afternoon. I sat outside, in the sun and loved the tranquility of the view across the church square while I had a relaxing lunch. The fish tacos and jerk chicken with coconut rice were full of flavour and a great reminder of my trips to Trinidad. The servers were attentive and responsive which made the whole experience relaxing and enjoyable.

I visited while I Peterborough for work. The staff were friendly and helpful greeting me quickly and finding me a seat. The food was absolutely amazing I had salt fish and ackee rolls for starter and a goat curry for the main with a side order of garlic flatbread. Wonderful staff, wonderful food and a wonderful atmosphere what more can you ask for!

Jeff was amazing at fixing our drinks!! Gave us her own concoction every time and surprised us with a new flavour - will not forget and I recommend her to anyone that comes in, in the future. :)

I based this review on what I heard from the whole group. There is a large range of beers on tap. A good range of quality spirits also available. Orders for food are placed at the bar and paid for at that time. There is an afternoon menu which is smaller but cheaper and a main menu. My wife and I eat from the main menu. Service was good and most meals came out together. Which meant we had our starter and main meal come out at the same time. I found that strange? If we had been a couple I would ask for them to come out separately. We all agreed the food was hot fresh and well presented.

One of the best places for Thai food in the country. Service is always outstanding and the food is consistently fantastic. Pork belly, crispy prawns, stir-fried noodles, and basil rice are always highlights.

A lovely pub in Peterborough centre 5 mins walk from the station. The people running the pub were lovely, If you are into Ale then, you probably like Oakham Ales, they are hard to find on draft and this pub is well kept. I'll be back and I'd reccomend it!

Amazing Thai food!!! Set menu for four with portions that are seriously generous. Service is warm, friendly and attentive. Aziza was our host and the most awesome one imaginable. Food came quickly and far more than we could eat in one sitting. I would highly recommend this for families and friends who want a great experience in relaxing surroundings.

Heard alot about this place. I am very particular about foods especially eating out. Decided to try Brewery Tap with couple of friends. I like the cosy environment. I think it is important besides good food. I need to try other dishes before I can give a more accurate feedback.

Didn't know what to expect walking in, but I had a very pleasant evening to myself. Food was flavourful and well priced, good selection of popular and local beers, and the staff were lovely, in particular Diane who was very friendly, bubbly, and generally had a welcoming presence that was infectious. Highly recommend if you're passing through Peterborough and looking for a place to dine/ have a pint or two.

Had a family meal here, great service from Aziza we all thought she was a star! Warm, welcoming and positive. The food wasn't bad either.

Cracking micro pub in a very select area of the city without being 'snobby' in any way. Great selection of ale always available, however, where this little pub really scores in in the cider offering. 39 on offer on this visit.

Had a very enjoyable session yesterday lunchtime at the Frothblowers pub -it was their seventh birthday. Great beers, great atmosphere, an excellent host and complementary cupcakes. The celebrations were added to by several Friends of the AOFB meeting there too. (Ancient Order of Froth Blowers). This friendly pub has several largish tables which encourages people to chat together. They had several beers on tap and I enjoyed the ‘Gollop with Zest’ was just right for lunchtime.

Great selection of real ales, updated very regular. Nothing in there to distract you from having a conversation with people. Small cosy place, with friendly punters and great staff.

Wonderful selection of very well kept cask ale. A very wide selection of equally well kept real cider. With some fruit ones for those that way inclined. Quirky, friendly cosy atmosphere. You meet real people here. A choice of Turkish or Chinese food. What more do you want?

Super place, great beers, no music and friendly folk! Love it. Next visit, a year later - and nothing has changed ! Sunday, 4 p.m. and the place is heaving, standing room only, but no trouble to reach the bar, everyone is so friendly. The beer is great, the company convivial, the boss and his staff are so welcoming and helpful its like a time warp into an almost forgotten time of warm sociability and calm. I can't wait to visit again.

This wasn’t my first visit to Bella Italia as I love the food so much but I had to leave a review for Mark. The service from him was exceptional. He literally cannot do enough for you, he makes you laugh at any given chance. Mark is the definition of service with a smile. I will definitely be back. Thank you ☺️

The staff front of house here are a credit to Bella Italia and any restaurant across the UK could learn alot from them in Peterborough. Polite, engaging, efficient and helpful (they care!). Here for the weekend from Kent, and spent two evenings at Bella, so impressed with the first visit. Good food, good service. 10/10 Will return when back on business next month.

My husband and I love Bella Italia! Every time we go, we always have an excellent experience. The staff, food,and atmosphere are always on point. The team are always friendly, but Mark is an asset to the team, as he genuinely cares about everyone who walks through the doors and is so funny!

We had booked a table, and despite there being plenty of space, a waitress mumbled something about getting a table ready. She then walked off, serving other customers and left us standing in the doorway. After 5 or 6 minutes a different staff member approached to ask if we had booked. Finally we were seated, but it was quite some time before we were offered a drink. When the food was ordered, it was very slow to arrive. Fries were missing, and my 'make your own pasta dish' was missing the meatballs I asked for. It was also supposed to be finished with a bit of fresh chilli, but the were so many hot chillies in that it was inedible, I piled them up on the side of the plate. . I had to send it back. By the time a replacement arrived my two accompanying diners had already finished. We received an apology, but a free drink? A reduction in the bill? No, it was an expensive meal with very poor service and definitely not worthy of recommendation.

The atmosphere was wonderful however the food was a disappointment. I enjoy Bella Italia as a franchise and have been to many however this was the worst food. I got chicken Milanese and the chicken was overcooked and had been fried too long, it had been fried so long I couldn’t cut through it and after letting the waitress know she simply said ‘ oh sorry about that’ but made no effort to resolve the issue which was a shame. The spaghetti was lacking sauce however the fries were lovely as was the cocktails.

Thank you for seating our party of 20 for a special birthday. You offered us the private room which was perfect for our needs and it was nice having one big table so everybody could talk! Steak Thursday........Ordered the sirloin...probably the worst Steak I have ever had. Even the Steak knife was struggling to cut through any part of it.Thank God I ordered a fried egg on top,to at least give me some sustenance. Everything else coming out to surrounding diners didn't look much better either. Staff were apologetic, and I was offered a free drink, but I didn't bother, and I suspect that Greene King will not be bothered in the slightest by this review!

It was a great party last night. Really good atmosphere to have celebrations in there. Really recommend. Woodman team and DJ just made the party so wild and boogie boogie. We know where the next party will be again 🎂🍸🍾🎉🥳

My wife and I had our wedding here and I really have to say how amazing Carol and all the staff were, we were so looked after and as a result we had the best night of our lives. Carol and all the staff looked after us from the moment we decided to have our wedding there and really helped to relieve a lot of the stress of planning and decorating. We tried to book in advance, but were told we don't need a reservation. We had a family lunch here. The food was nice. We got everything we ordered, service was very laid back, so laid back that no one came to clear the plates after we finished eating.

Very nice, good quality, for me 2 of the most important things on a good breakfast is the coffee and the sausages, and they were spot on, all the food had great taste. Very enjoyable breakfast with a good coffee to wash it down with. Only slight niggle waiter asking how everything was (one just taken our 1st bite lol)

We called in this morning for brunch which was really lovely. Lucy, the lovely young lady who served our coffees was very friendly and smiley. I have to say my latte was perfection 💜

We have been to Argo Lounge on numerous occasions and never had a bad meal! The food is always cooked within a reasonable amount of time and whatever I’ve ordered has always tasted amazing. Our last experience was the best to date. We had just got legally married and decided to get some lunch in Argo Lounge. I was wearing a veil and the girl who was serving us asked if we’d just got married. I said yes and she offered us a complimentary drink. She then came back a while later and asked if she could take a Polaroid picture of us, we didn’t mind and said yes. 15 minutes later, she was back with a little card, signed by all the Argo Lounge team with our picture attached to the card. It had to be the sweetest little unexpected surprise and we were made to feel very special. Kudos to all the waiting staff in Argo Lounge. I have found them to be nothing short of exceptional. 5 stars all around, foods is great, customer service is great, as is the atmosphere. 👏🏼🫶🏼

Six of us went to Argo Lounge on a Monday night. It was pretty quiet so couldn't give the atmosphere a full score of five but it was really pleasant so, 4/5. Didn't realise that they have a deal on a Monday and spotted it on the menus so we took advantage. Combined with not being walked to a table even though we were asked to wait at the front, 4/5 for the service as the staff were all very nice and helpful. We all ordered something different yet everything came quickly, together, hot and treating delicious. These days it seems dinner places struggle to get any of those so to get all of them, it's a definite 5/5. All together is a 4/5 and we will certainly be going back and would recommend happily to others. Keep up the great work Argo Lounge!

Wheelchair friendly. Staff are Allergy aware. Gluten and Lactose Free is no problem and all Free From Food is prepared in a separate area. The Free From menu is excellent and adaptable. I had no problems as a wheelchair user and have food allergy’s . Lovely friendly staff. Food was nicely prepared and cooked to perfection. Price was as expected and not too expensive. I definitely recommend.

Excellent bar, cafe and restaurant in the centre of Peterborough. Part of the Lounges group which have an industrial decor and friendly staff. Excellent food plus vegan and gluten free menus. Good coffee and beer. Make sure you read what you get with the meal as you may want to add some extras. Good value for money.

The white swan is was amazing. Welcoming, friendly, excellent service and amazing food. The meal was the best we have had for a long time. Food was cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning. Thank you!

Lovely little find. Wife and i took drive out for a late lunch, after searching country pubs outside Peterborough. Lovely guy's who own it, couldn't do enough for you, excellent service. Great choice of different foods on offer, good quality. Very reasonable prices, big portions. We will definitely be revisiting. Bonus! Actually have a Zero beer on Tap (Heineken), so can have a pint as opposed to a bottle.

Great little treasure hidden away. Worth checking out, the immense menu doesn't detract from the quality of the food and the staff are friendly and helpful. Would go back again, the foot long mozzarella stick was my favourite part.

On trusted recommendation we chose this pub for our monthly date lunch... married too long to mention. So we have tried a lot of venues. Today was a gem. We hadn't booked but there is ample seating inside and out. The menu was internationally complete to suit any tastes. The service was prompt professional and welcoming. Not always the case for casual visitors we've found elsewhere. The food was a decent plate full and delicious. As a real ale drinker I was well catered for too. Overall a fabulous experience that will be repeated, which is the acid test!

The Blue Bell is the BEST pub around the vicinity. The food, service and atmosphere is splendid. It was a lunch stop for us on our way to Gatwick from Bourne and we didn’t have a booking but they seated us and were very accommodating. They found some Tabasco for me to go with their incomparable shoestring fries. We had the chicken BLT and the Cheesy Chilli Sausage sandwich. It was just the best. Love love love.

Finally the pub I’ve been looking for! Been here twice recently for a roast dinner and in my opinion the best around. Amazing service, staff couldn’t be any nicer or more efficient. Lovely wine in nice glasses, cozy and warming atmosphere. Looking forward to returning again and again.

Just had a breakfast with my daughter and it was delicious. Nicely cooked,big serving and a decent cup of tea. The bar staff were friendly as was the server. Quick visit before a football game, reserved a table and was lucky enough to get one with a view of the live game, food was excellent and drinks very reasonable, a lovely chap (Samsa) made baby Guinness free hand, no spoon needed, really good pub.

Been here a few times... But today was just awful... We ordered jacket potato one with cheese and beans and one cheese at £8.99 each with a drink.. No salad just a plate with a small potato and the smallest amount of cheese and beans that did not even cover the Pototoe. A lot of money for a very very poor meal!!!

I recently visited this pub and had a really great experience. I ordered a pizza along with a couple of pints, and everything was spot on. The pizza was absolutely delicious – fresh, full of flavour, and cooked perfectly. The staff were very kind and welcoming, which made the atmosphere even better. Overall, it was a fantastic visit, and I’ll definitely be coming back again.

Really wanted to like this place when we stopped here for lunch but the food we had just wasn't up to scratch. If you see my other reviews I'm a big fan of chicken wings and will usually always order them if I'm a menu. My wife also likes them so we decided to get the sharer portion of Korean wings. I'm not sure who the chef is here but these were not in any way shape or form Korean flavoured. If I remember correctly they were advertised as having Gochujang sauce. The wings themselves were completely bland,.had been cooked in the oven clearly without any seasoning so they looked pale (and even though they weren't) uncooked which was off putting. The sauce was more like a sweet and sour sauce from a bottle. Prob Encona. Not nice at all due to the texture. For comparison I took a picture of the wings as advertised Vs what we got (see pics) it's really not difficult to make appetising wings these days especially if you have an air fryer / deep fat fryer. The rest of the food we ordered (truffle tater tots and beef tortilla) was ok but nothing great to be honest. It seems like the pizza here might be the way to go as other diners had ordered those but who knows. It's a nice venue and staff were friendly but there are issues in the kitchen here for sure. Sadly don't recommend

I hate to use the expression 'hidden gem,' but this place is definitely one. It's shabby chic, which is used as a compliment. Great host, atmosphere, and choice of beers for the discerning. The music during the afternoon session was a perfect match. Menu looks great. Definitely going to be a regular haunt.

This was my go-to pub for food during my 9-day visit to Peterborough. Especially the 3 small dishes for UKP 15 turned out to be excellent value. I had them three times, exhausting around half of the options available. My favourite was the burrata with white beans salad, which I ordered on all three occasions. Lovely. The other two I changed with each order: small tacos with pulled pork and mushrooms, respectively, and all three available versions of tater tots (with pulled meat, Buffalo sauce and chicken - my favourite - and mozzarella and hard cheese). Always well-prepared, always delivered in good time. The best value food on offer if you're really hungry. The pub itself is a rustic traditional establishment, with nice seating inside and out. 4 cask ales available (most times), of which I often chose Adnams Ghost Ship. More beers and lagers are available on keg. Service was friendly and efficient. It's a popular pub with locals, but I always found a seat in the outside area, which looks out to the Guildhall and Cathedral Square. Really good option for superior pub food in Peterborough.

We cannot believe it took us so long to discover this place! Very tasty food, carnival like detour, great cocktails with fresh ingredients and friendly staff. What could be better? We had the cajun platter (ribs and chicken) and margaritas, and our vegan diner had a burger (also tasty). Will definitely be coming again.

Booked a table of six for a Saturday night. Food freshly prepared and delicious. Can't believe there wasn't more people in!

Restaurant review: Being a fan of Caribbean cuisine, I was very intrigued to see goat curry on the menu, so naturally that's what I ordered... and it was beautiful! Tender, fall-off-the bone meat, perfectly seasoned, nice level of spice, cooked to perfection rice. Extremely impressed! My better half had the chili con carne, this was more akin to a stew (in the best way). Tender chunks of steak, that familiar, homely con carne flavour, complimented with jalapenos and tortillas. Lovely. In summary: Fantastically cooked "soul" food, generous cocktails, a laid back atmosphere and a welcoming and personal service has cemented Mama Liz's restaurant as one of my personal top spots in the area. PS. The local craft ale was an added bonus 👍

As a family of four, we had a fantastic meal. Everything we ordered - tacos, chicken wings, jerk chicken, ribs, surf'n'turf - was delicious, well-presented, and of generous size. The service is speedy and polite. We will definitely be back.

Been here a few times for dinner with the family, my kids love going as there are toys for them to play and pictures to colour in, the little one always wants to go to see if thier drawing is still on the wall of lizards! the staff are always friendly espiecally one of the barmen called lethaniel, always polite and smiling We're looking forward to the next visit :)

We had such a nice experience at Las Iguanas tonight. Our both dishes was bursting with flavour. On top of that a fantastic service by Zuzanna, she made our meal even better with her friendly attitude and attentive service.

A family get together that was complimented by great service the team were very attentive when my daughter didn't like her meal (fussy eater). The ladies made great effort to support. This is a local pub that still hits on both beer and food fronts, thoroughly recommended.

Visited again for a family Sunday dinner. On this occasion the food wasn’t really very good and absolutely not worth the price. The choice of starters was very limited indeed and no other alternatives were available which was a surprise to be honest. Couldn’t even have any bread. The roast was on this occasion below average for pub food. It has previously been excellent. My reasons for this were the beef was extremely tough and looked like a rather cheap cut of silverside meat. I’m sure it wasn’t but it was simply not good. The roast potatoes were anaemic, the majority of the plateau dished vegetables were cold and when we asked for extra gravy this was also cold. A few of us were still hungry so opted for deserts which again were not their normal - really small portion, cheesecake appeared to be from a supermarket and was soggy. Drinks were all good and the atmosphere was nice and busy. Assume it was a one off less than expected experience, but just being honest.

Lovely traditional pub with an excellent range of draught beers. Established ale house since 1600's. Old styled interior. Plenty of parking and a great outdoor area. Service is very good. Decent food choice at reasonable prices. It really is everything that an English pub should be. Worth a visit.

We celebrated a 96th birthday here a couple of weeks ago and were made to feel very welcome by the staff - even with a very active toddler excitedly exploring in between courses. Lovely food and great service. A firm favourite for the family and the birthday girl thoroughly enjoyed herself.

Food tasted great but unfortunately I did find a bit of plastic in my food which was really disappointing. I thought at first it was a crustacean from the prawn but once i managed to fish it out my mouth (thankfully I didn't swallow it), I realised it was definitely plastic. It's a shame as the food was really nice especially for the price. When I mentioned the plastic it wasn't really acknowledged and I had to force an apology. Not really good enough really. But food was great. Can't knock that.

We stopped off on our travels and had a wonderful lunch. The staff were friendly and food delicious. Huge portions and great service. We sat in the bar afterwards enjoying the banter with the locals and bar staff. A perfect way to break up a long trip south on the A1.

Security took multiple photos of me without reason. Unpleasant experience. No reason provided. Not made to feel welcome at all, door staff were incredibly rude and unprofessional. Disgusting behaviour and attitude considering I had only arrived 5 minutes prior.

Decent place where you can spend time during weekday. Prices are decent and staffs are good. Service is also nice. If nearby you can drop by have a stopover.

Never had a good experience in this place! I find the staff to be exceptionally rude, door staff especially they treat you in a vile manner! Seem to turn people away for nothing, don't go very often but each time I've been its always the same. Door staff think because they have a badge that it gives them the right to speak to people terribly! I wont be returning I'd rather spend my money elsewhere!

Decent pub for them pub prices. As they say, cheap and cheerful. Took a snao of the Dj, and he was midway in a set, and the transitions from song to song hurt me. I couldn't catch a vibe (but to be fair, i went to listen to music, not dance). Give it a good 3

Visited for the first time in a number of years, was pleased to no longer be overwhelmed by the smell of Toilet Duck which had been my lingering memory of last my last visit. Bar staff were friendly and attentive. The seating has also been improved and the bar area is definitely looking much fresher without detracting from the bar’s character. Reasonable drinks menu, would be nice to see some craft beer introduced, but aware bars are restricted by their supplier. Will be sure to visit again.

My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary, the food was very nice,and good portions didn't have room for pudding, staff friendly, atmosphere good, the pub has been revamped since we last went (a few years ago) very nice

My wife and I came for steak night and I must say the food and service was perfect. I had the T-bone and the wife a fillet and it was as good as any steak house and we have visited a lot. The young lady that served us Evi was amazing and extremely attentive. Would highly recommend.

The staff were friendly, the food was ok for a Sunday lunch. Only 2 thin slices of beef though. We as a family like our gravy and sadly for us there was not enough. The staff were busy so we had to go to the kitchen to ask for some extra. Desert list was very limited with a choice of 3 things. Because of this some didn’t have desert but the deserts we had were very nice.

Very bad experience with this IPA. It was extremely cloudy—almost murky to the point of being unappetizing. When I asked the staff about it, they said it was “because of a barbell move,” which made no sense and didn’t explain the strange texture or poor taste. The flavor was flat and harsh, with a gritty mouthfeel that lingered unpleasantly. This didn’t taste like a proper NEIPA at all—more like something went wrong during brewing or handling. I’ve had many hazy IPAs before, but this one felt unbalanced and unrefined. Disappointing overall—would not recommend or try again.

Very special pub, wonderful atmosphere!

Recently become my favourite pub in Peterborough town centre, the bar staff are very friendly, happy to talk about their beers and always have advice for everyone’s taste. Atmosphere is welcoming for everyone with a crowd from many different backgrounds.

What a night!! Graham and the staff were excellent and took great care of my band, Lounge Lizards. We're really looking forward to coming back for another gig!! Lots of beer amd cider options and the drinks aren't expensive. 10/10 recommend!!!

Argyle on tour!! We got stuffed so I am searching out real ale pubs to drown my sorrows.....and the Ostrich was on the list. And its really good....vibrant....and quite quirky with little nooks and crannies.....including an outdoor area which looked great but I wasn't sure if it was outside!! I met some fellow Argyle fans and we spent a few hours drinking talking and playing pool. Good real ales....ever had a vegan one......oops and ugh. Super atmosphere everyone enjoying themselves and bar staff great...

Always reliable. Whether quiet or packed, with a band. A veritable oasis. Probably the only reason to visit Peterborough!

I brought a couple of touring punk bands to the Ostrich on a Monday night. What a great place! Our hosts were exceptionally nice and very accommodating. The place was packed and everyone was friendly and welcoming. We were offered first class vegan, Mexican food that we all enjoyed. I recommend The Ostrich Inn to everyone reading this.

We were at table 7 at 6 pm. 3/10/25. Just wanted to say the food was delicious meal. Best chips ever. Bread and butter pudding to die for. Ladies were stars. Please tell them the request to Elvis tribute for Lee's birthday was read out. Made his bi rthday. Believe it or not first time we've been in a pub /restaurant since before pandemic. We so enjoyed it will definitely be back.

Very good value for money. I had a steak which was cooked just as I ordered it. Carolyn had a veggie curry which she thoroughly enjoyed. We had a bottle of wine and the whole lot came to just over £52 including desserts. We ate there before going to see a show in the theatre and wasn't expecting much, but having been once, will definitely go again. A fight between two guys broke out while we were there, but that just added to the entertainment.

Four of us ate here on Sunday before the Cirque show The staff were so lovely. One had Sunday Roast Beef. Three had jackets with varied toppings. We all enjoyed the food. Desserts were disappointing but passable with soft drinks the bill was £63 which we thought was very good! It’s not posh but we would eat there again

Have been a sort of regular as this place is my local Pub. First time I asked for food from the menu - Lamb Shank Very impressed indeed, quality, flavor and size of the portion. The service, like always, outstanding! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Just had an amazing Sunday lunch for just under £15. What a bargain for beautifully crisp roasties, perfectly cooked beef,amazing cauliflower cheese with a giant Yorkshire pudding and the best roast carrots and parsnips I've had in ages, all topped with good gravy and proper hot horseradish. Definitely recommend a visit

Sunday lunch is out of this world. Chef should be congratulated. This is by far the best for miles around, and I’ve tried a few! I had the beef, so tender I barely needed a knife to cut it, plenty of it too. As mentioned before, I don’t know what chef does with the gravy but I could drink it alone. The Yorkshire, fluffy and unctuous. Everything fresh, colourful and bursting with flavour. The staff and customers are friendly and warm, the atmosphere gently buzzing. We are lucky to have this in the village. Thank you, thank you, thank you. See you again soon

When arriving through the door, a wave of memories came rushing back. This was one of the pubs I grew up in as a child because my father ran it about 14 years or so ago. The cask ale availability was good. The service we received was good as well. We then sat outside in the smokers hut and enjoyed the quietness of the area. Great pub as always.

Moved to the area last year and saw that they had started doing food again! My partner and I visited on Sunday for a well deserved Sunday Roast and we were not disappointed. We both opted for the roast beef which was cooked to perfection. The roasts were lovely, Yorkshires crisp and whilst I’m not sure what they put in the gravy, I can tell you it was divine. For me, the portion was perfect although I would have killed for another stuffing ball (because it was so tasty) whereas my partner would have preferred a larger portion because it was such a lovely meal he didn’t want it to end! We literally have nothing negative to say about this pub ever, it’s ran by lovely people, prices are decent, atmosphere is always top tier. Thankyou for another wonderful experience at our local

Visit to see a Friday night duo playing here. Most impressed by the atmosphere of this public house. Quiet for a Friday evening. Reasonable bar prices, not excessive to cover the free entertainment, which some pubs do! Shame, but too far away to become our local.

Such a gem. Everybody is unbelievably friendly. the staff are so accommodating it's fantastic. I pop in with my dog and it's always such a nice time if i didn't drive id happily sit there for hours. Thanks to Wayne and everyone who makes it so enjoyable and the ladies at the bar always work so hard yet always super friendly give time to everyone. I gotta say though not having football on absolutely sucks . Not even cup finals must lose out on so much business because of it

It's a lovely pub. Nice country feel to it. Real ale decent quality. I had Landlord dark and ghost ship. Both decent pints. Food, well that was not good at all. I had burger and chips as did my Dad. Came on a plank o f wood and chips in a metal basket. Why not a proper plate? Burger was burnt. My sister ordered halloumi fries. After taking the order and payment, member of staff came over to say they had no halloumi fries. Why not say that at time if ordering. My step mum had steak stew and dumplings. She hardly touched it. Meat bland. Dray (no sauce etc) and dumplings hard. Ok pub to go for drinks, but wouldn't go back for food

One of the few craft beer bars in town (all kegged beers here, which doesn't bother me), but inferior to the much friendlier Bumble Inn, which is only 5 minutes away. You can order 2/3's of pints, not real pints, of the stronger beers, which to me is a rip-off. Décor is basic, but okay, but the atmosphere just isn't there. Less friendly crowd, too. I visited only once, then found out about The Bumble Inn.

I hadn't warmed to this little bar on previous visits but last night it blew my socks off. From the friendly welcome at the bar to the great range of craft beers available. The barmaid knew her stuff and offered tasters readily. At last a craft beer bar that knows how to serve beer at the correct temperature. Still not sure about the diagonal beer boards, and some tasting notes would be a great addition. Will definitely be coming back

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Stoneworks bar in Peterborough and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. I was able to chat with the bartender and they were able to recommend the perfect drink for me based on my preferences. I was particularly impressed by the variety of craft drinks available. From craft beer to wine, spirits the Stoneworks has it all. And the fact that they strive to source the best from all over the globe is truly remarkable. I tried a few different drinks and I was blown away by the quality and taste. I can't wait to go back and try something new. The atmosphere of the bar was also fantastic. It had a cozy and inviting vibe. And did I mention shuffleboard? As the only bar in Peterborough with shuffleboard, this added an extra level of fun to my experience. I love playing shuffleboard and I was thrilled to find a bar that offered it!

Stunning quality craft beer, on tap and in can/bottle. We were there from Manchester, the staff were a joy to talk to and we will be back. They have shuffleboard! Go here! Shuffleboard is an amazing game! I've gone to craft beer bars all over Europe and here is special!

Lovely location, friendly staff the low(ish) score is purely down to the beer range, there's lot of choice but would have likes to have seen some of the 'better' UK breweries on the taps.

Finally! Exactly what Peterborough has been waiting for. The best selection of independently brewed craft beers from some of the UKs finest brewers. As well as 14 taps of ever-changing beer to chose from they offer some fantastic soft drinks, gins, whiskeys and red/white/rose wine. If you're looking for somewhere cool to converse with equally cool people over the best drinks in town - look no further. And just in case you can't get enough whilst you're in there or if you're short on time, there's a whole host of great cans and bottles available to take out too.

Probably one of the best pubs in Peterborough. Has a great selection of ales, craft beer, larger and ciders. Loads of TVs and a big screen to show sport. You could easily stay there for the whole day to watch all the football matches. And they usually have a live band on a Saturday night too. Only a five minute walk to London road.

Sam has been the a really delightful server the evening, a great asset to the team. We’ve had a lovely night with a big group of friends and I would recommend this pub to anyone visiting

Went to this pub years ago, wasn't very good back then. Decided to take another look when I saw a sign outside saying "6 real ales'. What a great pub it is now! Great range of beers and very cozy! Large seating area out the back. Will be going back when next in Peterborough.

States online it's dog-friendly, walked 3km to have some drinks with a friend and my dog, to be turned away stating no dogs allowed!? Such a shame as we had some drinks in the pub previous week (without the dog) and enjoyed ourselves. With publicans concerned about dwindling trade, it amazes me a pub like the Ploughman, that doesn't serve food, and was empty on our arrival, didn't allow us to come in with a well-behaved dog on a lead

This is a traditional independent pub, not a chain pub. We weren't in the bar a itself as we were at a family gathering in the function room,(smallish but nicely laid out)with a wraparound bar so we didnt need to walk to fetch drinks..very handy. The pub itself has a great selection of drinks from a wide selection of gins, to a selection of real ales. Live music most weekends,(rock music when we were there). Staff are friendly too. Def worth a visit if you're in the area, will be visting again.

A touch spit and sawdust but great place for the real ale drinker. Usually 5 to 8 real ales on hand pump which vary weekly. You can also watch all the top sporting events on any of the many screens in the main bar. Light snacks available but no bar menu. More a lads pub than a couples pub.

This Public House is one of the most respected and attended in Werrington. The Landlord is on the whole a most generous and charity minded man. The all girl staff have been chosen for there hard working attitude and nothing is too much for them. The Landlord is the same, nothing seems too much to ask. If a gentleman is in the way of a customers view he won't send him away, he will find him a table out of harms way.( I have witnessed such an occasion). The pub has a very good selection of Ales, all advertised adjacent to the bar, which has a one way system. The pub regularly has live music during the Summer Season. Two such bands I have heard are :- Third Stone from the Sun, see photographs.

We celebrated New year Eve at the Ploughman.The live band was amazing,food was great and it was plenty for everyone throughout the night. Different choices available as well. The owner was very friendly with us although we were there first time, really. We felt welcomed.

Argyle on tour!! We all met here before and after the match. Lively venue with good barstaff and great ales. It was packed before the game with Peterborough and Argyle fans enjoying the ore match atmosphere. XXXb was the ale for me...

An excellent local pub serving a very good and extensive range of real ales. Well worth a visit.

A beautifully restored building - it is now like a country house. Good service, helpful and attentive staff. Good menu, if a bit limited (five starters/five mains/five pudd + pizzas and a few classics. But fantastic to have game on the menu. I had pigeon starter and a pheasant main. Both were excellent. A good and well priced cheeseboard rounded off a great meal. My wife had a very nice side salad to start followed by the flat iron steak, with a very good selection of ice creams to finish. All round good food at a reasonable price, in a beautiful surrounding.

What can I say but wow, what amazing food. The pizza was amazing. The chicken was perfect. This is now the best pizza I have ever had, and we can't wait to go back again. The staff was fantastic with some of my daughter's requests and can't thank them enough. If you are passing or want to go out for some food, then BOOK HERE. See you all again soon.

We visited the Rose and crown as a family (20) and used the private room. We pre ordered. All the food came out 20mins after we sat down and was hot. They catered for my coeliac allergy which was a winner for me. Good selection of food and drink. The venue is decorated to a high standard. All the staff I spoke to we friendly and efficient. Have been to the restaurant twice recently, my Gluten Free roll was warm on the outside and still cold in the middle not heated through properly. The second time we went the group was offered small aperitifsI was told they don’t have anything to offer GF wise. I have emailed twice to the pub with no response. A lot of money has been spent on doing the place up & it looks nice but I think they need to spend some money/time getting the restaurant right

The pub has been renovated to an extremely high standard - it’s a very classy interior and nice decor. The service was a bit slow for Sunday Lunch and I had to go to the bar twice to seek service to take our orders for either food or drink. However, we had young children in our group and on the kids menu a simple bowl of pasta with some plain tomato pasta sauce was £8. Whilst some restaurants try to encourage families by offering either cheap kids meals or kids eat for free -we paid £24 for 3 small bowls of pasta which was basically shockingly poor value for money.

Great venue with an old school pub vibe to it. Drinks are cheap given today's rates and the staff are friendly. Locals are chatty and welcoming. We always come for band nights and it's always fantastic, dancing and singing with everyone involved and not too crammed with plenty of seating and space.

Bar man was a Mass Effect fan so very good. But band was very loud.

Picked up two Sunday roast as my mum had fallen and broken her hip, took a chance here as we don't normally like any or the carvery chains and have had a few disappointing Sunday roasts elsewhere, but this is one of the best Sundays dinners I have ever had from a restaurant, the roast beef was perfect and could really taste that it was homemade, even down to the butter they used in the mash.... Will definitely be visiting again at dome point. Thank you

Busy village pub which was rather crowded on our visit, so we were a bit squashed in. The atmosphere is somewhat spoiled - for us - by TV screens showing football (which no-one seemed to be watching). The real ales were excellent; the small, front snug has more atmosphere, but it was too full for us to find a seat there; good to see a pub busy though!

2 of us arrived at 7.50pm. Ordered 2 pints. Sat well away from others. Around 8.40pm we noticed other customers had left and that the woman who served us was leaving. The other person present was a man who was closing things down. I asked if he was wanting us to leave. He replied she's going home and I am not serving drinks with one hand. (In fairness his other hand was bandaged up.) He then replied so you will have to leave. No apology quite rude behaviour. Totally unsuited to be running a customer facing business. I won't be going in again and I am informing others of his attitude

A proper pub, friendly staff, and owner seems to know how to run it, and the atmosphere is great. Definitely will be visiting more often. It has a great choice of drinks to choose from.

Kevin Tayor's review lacks a little realism. The Blue Bell has always been the most friendly and welcoming pub in the area. If closing time was an hour ago, and nobody else was in the pub, then I might think that I shouldn't be expecting to be served. But maybe that's just me.

For me it's the best real ale pub in the Peterborough area. I think I counted 40 plus gins and a good selection of whiskey. I love it there. Not a food but but lots of crisps and sweets. A proper Genuine old Pub.

Popped in for drinks and ... Unexpectedly ... A bit of karaoke! Friendly clientele, amazing music, depending on who is singing 😜 and also, they offer free water to you on your way out to help sober you up if you've had one too many. Staff are friendly and courteous. Good Guinness on tap. Cannot comment on if they do food or how it tastes as we visited late at night and were only out for drinks.

Not a great place but ok to have a dance or karaoke depending on what they have on. Good staff and door staff. Pub is known for older people

I personally love this pub, which is situated on Geneva Street, in Peterborough. I was once regular-ish, in this no-frills, easy going pub, & have some fond memories. It has recently (late last year), been refurbished. The customers (apart from a select few) are great, & bar staff, friendly & polite. The landlord 'Agron', is also gr8, &, catches the eye of the ladies. They don't do craft, or guest beers, lagers or perrys (ciders), but have a good selection of well kept general, beers, ciders, & spirits. Well behaved children are welcome in the daytime, from 10am, up until 6pm, but for short periods (1 & 2hrs for example, unless your granted an extended period, upon asking). There is no dartboard or pool table. Not sure whether they do any weekend entertainment in their anymore. It opens at 11am until 12am, Sun's, 10am until 11pm / 12am on Mon's to Thur's, &, 10am, until 2am, Fri's, &, Sat's!!!

Little gem of a real pub, full of characters. Great welcome from the Landlord, even when we visit once a year on our annual trip. He always remembers us.

Not for me. Bit too rough and ready. To many people looking for trouble and fights. landlord tries to keep a lid on it but can't prevent what goes on. People smoking weed outside the door, doorman does nothing to move them on as he's scared of the big polish lads.

Geneva bar comes alive every fortnight when they have the SILVER SATURDAY party's. It's a mix of music and friendly atmosphere. Look for more information on Facebook silver saturday . Next one is on the 17th of November from 9-2am and everyone is welcomed. And it's free entry all night . So give it a try.

Food available through pop up vans. Contact the pub for when this is. Some lovely real ales available. Not open Monday ans Tuesday. Outside seating area.

Fantastic atmosphere always. Lots of great beers and brilliant selection of gins, vodkas and spirits. Wayne and Annie put on lots of fun community events such as BINGO, Karaoke and live music. Always a great night at the 'Top House' wouldn't go anywhere else. Community spirit and all are welcome 🙂 5 star service 😀

I only ever go when I visit family near by, but we always enjoy it, staff are friendly and the booze is cheap! (Compared to London)

Best pub in the local area. Great lager, beer, spirits and the new cocktail machine, everything you’d need. Brilliant entertainment regularly. Friendly staff and great atmosphere!! Superb place!
