Awadhi restaurant
Mughlai restaurant
Tunday Kababi is a renowned eatery in Lucknow, India, named after Haji Murad Ali, also known as "Tunday" due to his disability. The restaurant is famous for its iconic kebabs and has become a must-visit spot in the city. The legend of Tunday Kababi dates back to a beloved Nawab who initiated a grand competition during his time.
It was the first destination to taste Awadhi flavours in Lucknow. Recommended by my friends and relatives. Truly the place is awsome in terms of serving kebabs of different tastes. Staff were so energetic and active to handle a huge number of customers at the same time. They served kebabs with topmost quality and I do recommend this place if you visit Lucknow. You can try any type of kebabs. They are just brilliant.
Soumyananda S — Google review
Honestly, the place is overhyped. The famous tunday kababs were decent, but everything else — the boti kabab, parathas, and sides — were disappointing. If this is considered the benchmark for good food, then the bar is set way too low. There are far better places to enjoy authentic Awadhi flavors in Lucknow.
Danish I — Google review
In the heart of Aminabad lies a culinary legend that defines the very soul of Lucknow — Tunday Kababi. This iconic eatery is not just a restaurant but a living chapter of the city’s royal food heritage. The aroma of freshly grilled kebabs fills the air, evoking memories of the Nawabi era and its timeless charm. The signature Galouti Kebabs here are pure perfection — soft, succulent, and delicately spiced, they dissolve on the tongue like butter. Each bite carries the essence of centuries-old Awadhi cooking, a rare balance of flavour, aroma, and texture. The accompanying parathas and biryani too retain that authentic home-style touch that makes every dish special. Despite the crowd and constant buzz, service remains quick, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for such legendary taste. Tunday Kababi Aminabad is not just a place to eat — it’s a journey through Lucknow’s culture, tradition, and unmatched culinary artistry. A must-visit for anyone who wishes to experience the royal taste of Awadh.
Aditya S — Google review
Tunday Kababi in Lucknow truly lives up to its legendary reputation. The mutton galwati kebab is the star of the show—melt-in-the-mouth soft, bursting with delicate Awadhi spices, and perfectly paired with their warm, slightly sweet shirmal. Together, they create an unforgettable combination. The Awadhi biryani too is aromatic, rich, and subtly flavored, making it a delightful accompaniment. Last but not the least the Shahi Tukda was very delicious. Overall, a must-visit spot to experience the true flavors of lucknow.
UTTAM G — Google review
Galauti kabab was just excellent. 4 pcs kabab on Rs 170. other items were also good. Atomosphere was not good at Aminabad. Very few seating arrangement. Places are not clean enough.
Himadri C — Google review
The fame of Tunday Kababi rests almost entirely on the Galouti Kebab (sometimes spelled Galawati Kebab). The name Galouti literally means "melt in the mouth," and these kebabs live up to that description. • The Legend: The kebab was originally created for Nawab Wajid Ali Shah of Awadh, who had lost his teeth but not his love for kebabs. A chef named Haji Murad Ali, who had only one hand (earning him the nickname "Tunday"), won a competition by preparing a kebab so soft it required no chewing. • The Recipe: The kebab is made from incredibly finely minced meat, often buff or mutton, and is mixed with a closely guarded family secret blend of spices—rumored to be over 150 different types—and tenderizing agents like raw papaya. • How to Eat: It is traditionally served with Warqi Paratha (a flaky, layered bread) or Sheermal (a mildly sweet, saffron-infused flatbread). 📍 Key Locations: Aminabad vs. Chowk There are two main branches considered to be the most authentic, each offering a slightly different experience:
EatWithGad — Google review
Mutton Galauti Kabab was excellent, mouth melting. Best to eat with paratha, it increases the favour. Boti kabab was ok. Mutton Seek kabab was very nice. Awadhi mutton biryani was flavorful, light, an absolute delight.
Manabendra B — Google review
Famous Taste, But Very Crowded! The taste of Tunday Kababi is really good, especially the kebabs — soft, flavorful, and authentic. However, the place is usually very crowded, and the service can be a bit slow because of that. Still, it’s worth a visit if you want to try the original Lucknowi kebabs!

Non vegetarian restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Wahid Biryani, located in Aminabad, is renowned for its Lucknowi Biryani, which has captured the hearts of food enthusiasts. This eatery has been serving delectable biryani and kebabs since 1955, earning a stellar reputation over the years. The tender kebabs and flavorful biryani are highly praised by patrons. While some feel that the mutton biryani is satisfactory, others rave about the Tunday kabab.
one of the beat places in this part of Lucknow (Ashiyana & Airport side) for good non-veg food has seating available on most days, while it also deliver via food delivery apps and does take-away as well seating area is pretty basic, so delivery & take away are the preferred options

Please have a look This is the quality of shami kabab It's only daal and burnt paratha. I spent over 1200 for this. In my opinion please completed avoid I'm born in lucknow and know what a real shami kabab looks like.

My sis ordered kabab pratha and biryani from here . Nothing was upto the mark kebabs WERE FULL OF DAAL .Birayni was just ok and the parathas we ordered had 2 burnt parathas, used to love this place i guess no more.

Wahid Biryani holds a significant place in Lucknow's food heritage. It's a place that many locals and visitors turn to for a classic Lucknowi biryani experience. While it has its strong proponents who swear by its unique taste and affordability, it also receives criticism regarding consistency and occasional hygiene concerns.
Sabir C — Google review
😞🚫 Disappointing Experience at Wahid Biryani Ashiyana 🍗🌯 My personal experience with Wahid Biryani Ashiyana left me utterly disappointed. I ordered a chicken roll, and to my dismay, it was not only overpriced but also completely tasteless. The roll was cold, lacking any flavor, and I ended up throwing it away. It cost me 100 rs, and the lack of effort in even heating the parantha before serving was disheartening. 😔❄️💔 I strongly recommend trying out Balle Balle or Biryani House in Khazana market instead. They offer better prices, excellent taste, and superior quality. Don't waste your time and money at Wahid Biryani Ashiyana when there are much better options available. 🏪🍛👌

Sorry, it’s overrated, and not worth it. Not Good as Tunday Kababi 😋

North Indian restaurant
Dastarkhwan Tulsi Theatre, with multiple locations in Lucknow, is renowned for its authentic Awadhi cuisine. The restaurant's Boti Kebabs, made from marinated chunks of mutton cooked over an open charcoal fire and accompanied by Mughlai Parathas, are a major draw for customers. The establishment offers an inviting ambiance perfect for intimate candlelight dinners, with traditional decor and dim lighting adding to the experience.
Went for lunch. We easily got the seats. The restaurant opens from 11:00 AM upto 10:00 as per there menu card. The seats and tables were clean. The plates and spoons were clean. You will get the food within 10 minutes of ordering. Just order what you can eat as they do not pack the leftovers. We ordered Half Butter chicken, Full Mutton Galawati Kebabs, Half Tandoori Chicken and Rumali rotis. The food was hot and mildly spicy. The tandoori chicken tasted good with lemon and onions. The butter chicken had juicy chicken and a buttery gravy with mild spices. The star of the lunch were the Galawati kababs and Mutton Biriyani. The kebab was of melt in mouth quality and Mutton Biriyani had fragrant rice and juice Biriyani.
Abhraneel S — Google review
I had mutton biryani and mutton galawati kebab. The biryani was aromatic, subtle and rich in flavor. It was only warm and not hot, maybe because we went around 4pm. The mutton pieces were mostly soft but some were hard. Apart from these two factors it was an amazing biryani. The galawati kebab as always melted in the mouth and was amazing.

Highly recommended ,It was a nice experience for dine in .I had gone there with my friend on 10th Sept 2025 for having lunch . We had 2 plate half Mutton biryani , 1 half plate Galawti kebab, 1 half plate mutton Rogan Josh. Mutton biryani pieces were Nice , Taste of Galawti kebab(mutton) was awesome .Succulent and Juicy pieces of Mutton in Rogan Josh was Excellent
Aditya K — Google review
By far the best non-vegetarian food in Lucknow! Dastarkhwan brings together all the traditional flavours you’d normally chase through the narrow lanes of old Lucknow — but here, you can enjoy them in the comfort of a restaurant bring served by attentive staff. Their galawati kebabs are melt-in-the-mouth perfection, and the mutton dishes are rich, flavorful, and beautifully cooked. I especially love their mutton biryani — aromatic, satisfying, and true to the Awadhi tradition. Because the food is quite rich, it’s best to order mindfully (or share) so you can enjoy every bite without feeling too full. The place is clean, comfortable, and always buzzing with locals — a sign of how good it really is. If you’re in Lucknow and love Mughlai or Awadhi cuisine, this is one restaurant you absolutely shouldn’t miss!
Ritu T — Google review
Only fake names there’s no flavours in food at all like old times very oily food and also no quality in food like roadside food…biryani taste like oil only and in chicken masala no flavour only spice khade masala flavour no salt nothing and ambiance and service is also not good and unhygienic
Divisha R — Google review
Had gone to the legendary Tulsi street Dastarkhawan@Lucknow to get some items packed. I was surprised to see the place jam packed even in afternoon, though earlier afternoons were rather quiet. While the guy was packing our stuff, I somehow couldn't control the ambience and the meaty atmosphere and ordered childhood favourite half Boneless Mutton Boti Kabab with Ulte Tawe Ka paratha! Nowadays in Lucknow, Bori kabab is available everywhere but in childhood Mutton Bori kabab and Masala tawa chicken was Tulsi speciality only!! After eating I felt- "Heaven Can Definitely Wait"!!!
Manish M — Google review
Easy to reach by car. Parking is roadside and can be an issue. Neat and clean with ACs. Very good service. This is the best restaurant as per my experience. Biryani was good though it's below the Tunday kababi. Kali mirch chicken was very good though it doesn't taste of kali mirch.Masala chicken is good. Shami kebab and boti kebab are good. Galawti kebab are good but behind the Tunday kebabi. The only non veg restaurant in Lucknow which I can try again and again.

Sakhawat Restaurant, located near the historic Oudh Gymkhana Club in Lucknow, is renowned for its delectable Shami Kebabs. These kebabs are crispy on the outside and tender inside, made from finely ground meat, lentils, and a blend of herbs and spices. The restaurant is known for serving authentic dishes at budget-friendly prices and offers a variety of mouthwatering kebabs and biryanis.
The service and atmosphere is a bit old type , nothing of a fancy aura . Food is too good. For now mutton shami kebab is the best and sometimes it sells out @ 8PM. Khatti fish you will get on Friday only .

Sakhawat Restaurant, located near Oudh Gymkhana Club in Kaiserbagh, Lucknow, is a hidden gem that every foodie must explore. Tucked away in a narrow lane, it may be a bit tricky to find—but trust me, it’s worth the effort. Taking an e-rickshaw or cab is a good idea. This no-frills eatery offers authentic Awadhi flavours, and the shammi kebab with paratha or roomali roti is simply mind-blowing. The boti kebab and mutton chops are also must-tries for meat lovers. Seating is basic and hygiene may not suit everyone, but if you’re here for the taste, this place will not disappoint. A true culinary experience of Lucknow, perfect for those chasing real flavours over fancy settings.

Tried Shami Kebabs and they were so delicate and rich in flavour with a hint of sweetness , tasted absolutely delicious with mughlai paratha. But the seating space is really constricted so dine in could be problematic as its really packed all the time .
Dewansh V — Google review
Sakhawat restaurant is a well known restaurant recognised as a Heritage restaurant in Lucknow, they claimed themselves a heritage restaurant. I went there with a lot of expectations after seeing so many videos on YouTube and blogs on social media platforms, but literally this place disappointed me a lot. First of all it was opened late I went around 2 pm but the restaurant opened after 3 pm and the main dish which wanted to taste Kakori kebab was not ready. They told me to try their Friday only speciality Desi Chicken Biryani, for me it was not worth it. Very subtle taste with no flavours at all after that I tried their Shami Kebabs which were also just Okay okay type not good not bad. When I completed my meal they told me that Kakori kebabs are now ready so I tried that also and to my surprise that was the most disappointing dish of the day. There was no flavour and a very weird taste I don't know what the issue was but very tasteless preparation. Lalla Biryani at chowk have much better Biryani and Shami kebabs then this Heritage restaurant. It was totally waste of money and time for me.

Idrees Biryani, located in Old Lucknow, is a must-visit for biryani enthusiasts. This unassuming eatery is renowned for its rich mutton biryani with tender slow-cooked mutton. While mutton biryani is their specialty, the chicken biryani is equally delightful. The restaurant offers authentic Awadhi biryani at reasonable prices, making it a top destination for biryani lovers in Lucknow.
Hidden Gem of Lucknow – A Must-Try! Don’t judge this place by its appearance — Idrees Biryani is the perfect example of “never underestimate a book by its cover.” The place may look modest, but the biryani is absolutely mouth-watering and unforgettable. The rice portion might be on the lighter side, but they more than make up for it with 5 to 6 perfectly cooked, flavorful pieces of meat. The aroma, the spices, the tenderness — everything is just spot on! Truly one of the best biryanis I’ve ever had. It does get very crowded, so if you’re not comfortable in busy places, I’d suggest getting a parcel and enjoying it at home. One thing to note: their biryani gets sold out fast, so plan your visit early. Also, they’re not available on Zomato or Swiggy, which is a sad— they really should be listed! Highly recommended to anyone visiting Lucknow. You simply can’t miss this. I’m truly impressed!
Monty W — Google review
It is a over hyped place. At first, the behaviour of staffs was very rude and really bad towards their customers. They don't have a proper dining space then also would shout to sit first and then have the biryani plate. Zero hygiene maintenance and cleanliness measures. Half plate mutton biryani costed Rs .200 which was totally waste. You will get coloured rice in a dirty plate just washed with water, with 2 pieces of mutton, having zero taste at all. Would not recommend anyone to go.
ARJUN — Google review
The biryani on its own tastes really good. However, when you combine it with the price to portion ratio and ambience, the overall experience is average. It is one of the filthiest places I’ve ever eaten at
Sunil P — Google review
Idrees Biryani in Lucknow is a name that truly represents the soul of Awadhi cuisine. Hidden in the busy lanes of Raja Bazar near Chowk, this small eatery serves one of the most authentic and flavorful biryanis you’ll find in the city. The aroma hits you the moment you step near the counter — it’s rich, royal, and full of tradition. The biryani here isn’t overloaded with spices or oil. Instead, it’s slow-cooked in the classic *dum* style, letting the mutton and rice absorb the yakhni (mutton broth) perfectly. Each grain of rice is separate, soft, and flavorful, while the mutton pieces are tender, juicy, and melt in your mouth. The balance of flavor is what makes Idrees so special — it’s not fiery or heavy, but gentle, fragrant, and deeply satisfying. If you’re expecting the masala-heavy or spicy biryani style from Hyderabad or Kolkata, you might find Idrees milder. But that’s exactly what makes it unique — it’s the *Lucknowi way*, elegant and balanced. The taste feels royal, yet comforting like home food. The ambience, however, is quite basic. It’s a small, old-style setup with limited seating, often crowded during lunch and dinner hours. Cleanliness could be better, and you might have to wait a bit, especially on weekends. Most locals prefer taking away their food instead of dining in. But once you taste the biryani, all that fades away — it’s the kind of flavor that makes you forget the surroundings. The staff are quick and straightforward; service is fast once your turn comes. Prices are very reasonable — around ₹150–₹200 for a generous serving — making it one of the best-value food spots in Lucknow. In short, Idrees Biryani is not about luxury — it’s about *legacy*. It’s one of those places every biryani lover should experience at least once to understand what real Awadhi biryani tastes like. The recipe has been passed down for generations, and you can feel that old Lucknow charm in every bite. If taste matters more to you than ambience, Idrees Biryani will not disappoint. It’s flavorful, traditional, and truly represents the culinary heritage of Lucknow. Go early to avoid the rush, take your food away, and enjoy it hot — that’s when it’s at its best. A legendary biryani spot that proves simplicity and tradition can still win hearts. Highly recommended for anyone who loves authentic Lucknowi food! 🍛❤️
AKASH K — Google review
Mutton biryani was wow. But hygiene and atmosphere has gone for a toss. Plus the wait in a cramped up room for 1.5 hrs was overwhelming.
Subha K — Google review
Idrees Biryani in Lucknow is one of those places that you just cannot miss if you are a true biryani lover. I had their mutton biryani and it was out of the world. The aroma, the flavour, and how tender the mutton was — it all just came together so beautifully. You can tell it is made with a lot of love and tradition. The uncle who manages the place is incredibly polite and kind. He even offered us an extra piece after realising we were visiting from outside Lucknow and had come specially to taste his biryani. That said, the place is extremely congested and always packed with people. Finding a seat inside is tough and the surroundings are not very clean. It is definitely more suited for takeaway. But since I was in Lucknow, I had to have it there, even if that meant standing outside on the street and enjoying it. And honestly, it was totally worth it. The mutton biryani is exceptional but I feel it may not suit everyone's taste especially if you are not used to the rich and traditional Awadhi flavours. Still, if you are in Lucknow, you must try it at least once. Just go early because it sells out fast.
Sandeep K — Google review
Not Recommended. Biryani is good in taste but nothing exceptional. The area nearby is very conjusted and dirty. The inside seating area in just one table with two benches. The hygiene is very badly maintained. This is certainly not a family place to dine. You may get it packed and eat elsewhere or better try at some other place. Not happy with the place and not going again. With being so popular now, they need to work on the cleanliness and hygiene more.

Raheem's Kulcha-Nahari, located in the narrow lanes of Lucknow, is a historic establishment dating back to 1890. It is renowned for serving what many consider to be the finest Nihari in the city. The dish features tender marinated meat cooked overnight and served with freshly baked tandoori kulchas. This hearty and satisfying meal has become a legendary culinary experience in Lucknow, especially during Ramzaan.
The Kulcha-Nahari was outstanding. The kulcha on its own tasted heavenly. It was flaky on the outside and soft on the inside, can beat any bread in the world. On its best day it’s in the leagues of croissant and sfogliatella

Raheem's Kulcha-Nahari in Lucknow is a legendary eatery known for its rich and flavorful Mughlai cuisine. Located in the bustling lanes of Chowk, this place has been serving authentic Nahari with soft, flaky kulchas for decades. This Nahari is popular for its Mughlai flavors, but the taste may not appeal to everyone. The nahari is mildly spiced and lacks the depth of flavors found in Delhi’s nihari, which is richer and more robust. The kulcha are awesome, it is very soft. Compared to Delhi’s nihari, especially from places like Karim’s or Kallu Nihari, Raheem’s version is lighter and less intense in spice and aroma. The ambiance is basic, and service is quick, but if you prefer a more flavorful and aromatic nihari, Delhi’s offerings might be a better choice.

Best kulcha Nihari in Lucknow , Nihari is slightly pricier though . Service is very good , pretty quick . Taste is amazing but there is visibly large layer of oil floating on the Nihari .. The owner over there is sweet and very welcoming..
Dr S — Google review
Raheem's had one of the best nihari I have had - subtly flavored, tender meat and went great with the kulcha. The pasinda kebab was melt-in-the-mouth and flavorful. The setting and amenities are basic but the food more than makes up for it

Review: Raheem’s Kulcha – Spicy Flavors but Lacking in Hygiene Located right next to Mubeen’s, Raheem’s Kulcha is another well-known spot for Mughlai food in Lucknow. Spread across three rooms, the place has a decent setup, but the hygiene leaves a lot to be desired. Too many flies and poor maintenance make it a bit unappetizing. On the food front, the spice levels are strong, and the gravy is well-seasoned, offering deep, bold flavors. The kulcha is flaky and crispy, which pairs well with the dish. However, the meat wasn’t as tender as expected, making the experience less enjoyable. Verdict? While the flavors are good, the lack of cleanliness is a major letdown. Given the many other great options in Lucknow, this one is an easy pass. Not worth the compromise! 🍛❌

This is the original Raheem hotel located near the Tunday kebabi at chowk Lucknow. They serve Great Kulcha Nihari Paaya and Biryani.

In the bustling streets of chowk this place is a must try. Raheem Kulcha Nihari is an absolute legend at their work. A great tasting nihari paired with flaky kulcha is a great start to your day. The only let down is the hygiene of this place.

If you find yourself in Lucknow, a visit to Tunday Kababi is an absolute must! This iconic eatery is renowned for its delectable offerings, particularly the legendary Tunday Galawati Kebab. These mouthwatering morsels are so tender they practically melt in your mouth, making them a highlight of any meal. The menu also features a variety of other kebabs like chicken seekh and tangdi, alongside flavorful biryanis that are light yet satisfying.
It's a small branch of the famous Tunday Kababi in Lucknow. The food is good. Primary attraction is the galawati kabab. The wait staff is very respectful and polite.

I liked the kabab paratha of tundey. The taste is authentic even it’s paratha is very soft. I couldn’t find these types of softest parathe. People should try the food of this outlet.

In My opinion, this is the best tunday in Lucknow Including Aminabad Tunday (only for tourist) Must have mutton kebab chicken roasted and chicken masala.
Faisal H — Google review
Only kebab was good but don't try anything else, Aminabad's tunday is much better, I have ordered chicken masala and It didn't even taste like I am eating non veg it's just a dhaba style chicken and has no aroma, on the other hand on Aminabad's tunday the chicken masala was amazing. Go on your own risk, this place made me believe that even in Lucknow I can have disaponting chicken.

A very good place...we visited lucknow for the first time and everyone suggested us to try this and it was worth the trial. Biryani was light and tasty ,mutton super soft . We tried mutton biryani ,chicken afghani and tunday galawati kebab . Tunday galawati kebab was super soft ..or call it mutton masala ...melts in mouth . They suggested us chicken afghani which again was super soft. Note: we went to the one in gomati nagar and they only accept cash .no cards and gpay

One of the must visit food place in Lucknow. Their black buffalo kebab is the authentic one. Kebab (balck buffalo/chicken/ mutton) with mughlai paratha/ special mughlai paratha is the best combination. I had tried chicken seekh kebab, Chicken tangdi kebab, mutton gravy and chicken biriyani. It's a crowded place. Sometimes you need to wait for a table. Service is okay (may be because of of crowd). Market in front of Tunday Kababi is also crowded. You have to park the vehicle far away from the restaurant. Since 1905 this restaurant serves the foodies with its amazing taste.

The founder of kebab in Lucknow. This place is famous for it's kebab and briyani. Lucknow briyani is also awesome and this place serve one of the best food. Many famous person have visited this place. And to find a seat in this place you have to wait atleast 30 minutes. Pocket friendly and pure food. Tourist will find few of the famous food shop around this place.

To be particular I am talking about the Gomtinagar branch of Tunday Kebabi, which is near Patrakarpuram. I am going to be honest, this was the worst experience with any restaurant I have ever had. I initially planned to dine in, but owing to the terrible ambiance and bas hygiene of the place, I decided to take away. Their items are too overpriced compared to any other Tunday outlet, in fact just the double. So the restaurant packed the food I ordered. And guess what, they packed only half of the items. And the kebabs were completely inedible, they had a strange sour smell and tasted like salt balls dipped in cheap oil. Actually they had given me me spoilt kebabs!!!! I took one bite and within 10 mins I am constantly rushing to the washroom. End-note: Please visit any other restaurant but not this place. I normally avoid giving bad ratings to anyone, but what they did is actually criminal. So far the worst experience I have had anywhere.

Ustaad Non-Veg Point is a must-visit in Lucknow for authentic Lucknowi flavors. The chicken biryani is highly recommended, reminiscent of the kind served at weddings but without the overpowering sweet essence. Their fried chicken stands out and doesn't even need additional condiments. Visitors rave about their Galawat Kabab, Boti Kabab mutton chaap, and unique chutney.
Didn't dine at this restaurant, ordered through delivery instead... This restaurant is so underrated, never had such amazing chicken biryani at any other restaurant - tastes just like biryani served at weddings, the only difference is they don't add the overpowering sweet essence (meetha itr) Very impressive indeed! 👍🏼 Their fried chicken is also lip-smackingly good, doesn't even require green chutney or lemon 👌🏼 Definitely a must try whenever visiting lucknow for authentic lucknowi flavours.

If you're on the hunt for authentic Mughlai cuisine, 'The Mughal's Dastarkhawan' in Lucknow is a must-visit destination. This renowned restaurant offers a delightful dining experience steeped in Awadhi and Mughlai traditions. The highlight of the menu includes their famous galouti kebabs, which are best enjoyed with Ulte Tawe ka Paratha. Additionally, dishes like chicken masala and chicken barra exemplify the rich flavors that define this culinary style.
Was dead hungry when we reached this place. Placed our order and it came within minutes❤️ hot and delicious food. Can never get over the taste. Even my diet conscious husband had a full plate of mutton biriyani. The biriyani was flavourful yet light, the mutton pieces were soft, properly cooked. The chicken malai tikka kebab was too delicious. If we ever visit Lucknow again,we are going to visit this place for sure ❤️

Great authentic mughlai food in Lucknow. I went there in late afternoon with friends and we were very hungry. We ordered masala papad and sweet lime soda to begin with, and both were great. We then ordered dal makhni, mutton bound, and other condiments like roti and rice for the main course. Everything was very good, especially the dal makhni. I have never had such dal.makhni in my life. This place is very conveniently located and has off-street parking. Highly recommended.

Visited Dastarkhwan, Lucknow, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience! I tried their Mutton Korma, Rumali Roti, and Mutton Galauti Kabab, and each dish was nothing short of heavenly. The rich aroma, perfect blend of spices, and tenderness of the meat made every bite memorable. The authentic Lucknowi flavors truly stood out it’s the kind of food that speaks for itself. I’ve also tried similar dishes at Tundey Kababi, and while both places are iconic in their own ways, Dastarkhwan offers a unique taste and experience that’s equally worth trying. The food here is so good that if I could, I’d give it 10 out of 5 stars! The service was prompt and courteous, and the atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends. A must-visit spot for anyone who wants to experience the true essence of Lucknow’s legendary cuisine.

We went during the day and the food is just excellent with good seating area and Awadhi decorations. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food was good. Best Paneer I have had in a restaurant. Paratha was yummy, we kept ordering 😅 Kudos to the waiter as well for being on one foot and kept an eye at our table, in case we needed something.

The Mughal's Dastarkhwan is renowned for its rich food and Mughal cuisine. Dastarkhwan is a Persian word that means an expanded table for dining where many can be served together. The food was amazing. We took 2 Lucknow Mutton Biryanis, (which came along with Raita), 5 Paratha Mughlai, their special Chicken Masala (half), 2 plates of Galowti Kabab (commonly known also as Tunday Kabab), 1 all Kabab Platter and 5 Shahi Tukra. It cost us something around INR 5000/- It is highly recommended if you are in Lucknow.

I had ordered Butter chicken, Roghan Josh , Galawati Kebabs, lime soda and Pineapple raita for lunch. Butter chicken was fine had a smoky flavor to it, which generally isn't smoked. Roghan Josh was poorest. No good quality of meat no roghan or aroma of the spices. Serving size was fine for two. The rotis are over priced. Even the roghan Josh is overpriced. Not at all real mughlai taste. The Galawati kebabs were too aroma less, in fact bland and it's seems they don't even use meat for kebabs. Too pricey for average quality of food.
Amina A — Google review
It’s a posh place to experience in comparison, what you otherwise would have at the legendary restaurant (Tunday Kababi, Idrees, Raheems etc) in Lucknow. The food is at par with the legendary Lucknow eateries/restaurants. Little heavy on the pocket though, if you compare with legendary restaurants.
Udayam S — Google review
Finding a restaurant that serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food with equal passion is rare, but this place manages to strike that perfect balance. Located conveniently in the heart of the city, the restaurant welcomes you with a warm ambience—tasteful interiors, comfortable seating, and soft lighting that set the mood for a memorable dining experience. The vegetarian menu is a real treat for anyone who loves authentic flavors. From starters like crispy paneer tikka and hara bhara kebab to the rich, creamy dal makhani, every dish is thoughtfully prepared. The highlight for me was the veg biryani, which was aromatic, perfectly spiced, and served with refreshing raita. Even simple dishes like butter naan and palak paneer carried a freshness that made them stand out. Vegetarians will appreciate that the dishes are not just side options but are given the same love and attention as the non-veg ones. Moving to the non-vegetarian side, the menu shines even brighter. The chicken kebabs are juicy and marinated to perfection, with a smoky flavor that lingers. The mutton curry is another star—tender pieces of meat in a thick, flavorful gravy that pairs beautifully with both naan and rice. For seafood lovers, the prawn masala is an absolute must-try, offering just the right balance of spice and tang. The non-veg biryani deserves a special mention—fragrant, well-layered, and packed with flavors that stay with you long after the meal. Service is another strong point here. The staff is polite, attentive, and always ready with recommendations based on your taste. Food arrives on time, and the presentation makes the dishes look as good as they taste. Prices are reasonable considering the quality, portion sizes, and overall dining experience. For dessert, don’t miss the gulab jamun with ice cream or the sizzling brownie—they are the perfect sweet endings to an indulgent meal. Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. It’s not just about food, but about the experience of enjoying carefully crafted dishes in a pleasant setting. Whether you’re dining with family, friends, or colleagues, this place guarantees satisfaction for every palate.

This barbeque Nation of river side mall is far better than lulu mall's barbeque Nation. The perfect tip of spiciness level of grill items. Fish chilli is amazing and mutton is mouth watering. There is no denying that the quality of food has suffered a lot after the company’s public listing. We have been coming here for a long time and off-late, the quality of food has been pathetic. However, it is the pathetic customer experience which was the highlight during our last visit. Despite making an advanced reservation, which was confirmed through Zomato and by Barbeque Nation, some manager called Santosh (?) refused to accept that the reservation is confirmed. According to him, they called me and I did not pick up, on the day of the reservation, so they assumed that the booking is cancelled. What does that have to do with a confirmed reservation? I have received a confirmation message twice from BBQ Nation and Zomato, and nowhere it said I will receive a call, so why do I need to pick calls from you? So stupid! The manager said that my family will have to leave at a particular time. I challenged him to give it to me in writing. After this, he walked away. Later, I saw him harassing other customers too with the same rubbish logic. Shame on BBQ Nation for treating customers like this. Do you even understand the meaning of the word hospitality? The poor quality of the food was only made worse by the behaviour of the staff. We have made a decision, as a family, to stop visiting BBQ Nation now. I miss the old BBQ Nation where you were always made to feel welcome and the food was top shelf. Thankfully, there are now other options in the city that still value customer service and serve good quality food. We will happily take our business there. So long BBQ Nation!

BBQ - a place that was once a BBQ paradise ('BBQ ka jamana tha') has become a bit underwhelming for me now. Maybe it's just me getting older, but the excitement has worn off. The staff is super humble and courteous, which is a big plus! The food is good, and the variety is decent, but it's not like there's something new to look forward to. It's a bit too crowded for my taste, but it's still a great spot to visit once with family and friends. One visit might be enough to try out all they have to offer.

I recently visited Barbeque Riverside and had a great experience overall! The location is excellent, and the food quality was top-notch. The ambiance was lovely, making for a wonderful time. However, I did notice a few areas for improvement: - The space could be a bit larger compared to other Barbeque locations. - Drinks are billed separately, and the prices are a bit steep. I was surprised to find that a Coolberg cost ₹250, whereas I expected it to be around ₹100, similar to other Barbeque places. If the pricing for drinks could be adjusted, it would be perfect! Otherwise, I have no major complaints.

The most horrible food we ever had. Completely devoid of courtesy and mannerism that otherwise you would expect from the staff to the feedback about horrible quality of food that was served to us. Chicken was undercooked or of substandard quality not fit for human consumption. We expected far better in a city like Lucknow that too from a city’s oldest restaurant. As a mark of respect for other guests not to be misguided I have to produce a copy of paid bill to clarify the feedback is honest and true.

The cutlery and plates were quite old and did not seem very well maintained. This needs to be improved.

Nothing has changed since the last time I visited them almost 4 yrs back. Still the same bland food. I ordered their chef’s special Rara chicken and honestly there’s nothing special about it. There are certainly better restaurants out there to try out so do not feel tempted about this one because of some instagram reel. I ordered a rara chicken (they serve portion size), 1 garlic naan, 1 sheermal and 1 Lemon soda. The total amount costed me ~Rs 2400 which is bonkers for such small portion of food

I’m taking you to one of Lucknow’s hidden gems—Alamgir Hotel! This place has been serving up some of the finest Awadhi food for over 50 years. If you’re a fan of rich flavors and authentic dishes, you’ve gotta check this spot out! First up, let’s talk about their specialty: Mutton Bun Gosht. Seriously, this dish is a must-try! It’s unique, it’s flavorful, and it’s a true representation of Lucknow’s culinary heritage. You won’t find anything like it anywhere else! Now, if you’re looking for something that’ll make your taste buds dance, you have to try the Khade Masale Ka Mutton Keema. This is my personal favorite! Visited this restaurant for dinner with my friend. We are delhiites and love our mughlai cuisine. Went to alamgir with lot of expectations. Reached around 8 pm on a weekday and the restaurant was practically empty. You need to get down at the chowk and its inside the gali opposite Tundey kabab. Nice and comfortable family and non family seating with aircon. We ordered mutton nihari, bheja, liver along with kulcha. Bheja was great. Biryani along with salan was also ordered was great too. Liver was hard and chewy. Nihari fell below expectations. Kulcha was a thick layer of maida paratha. We are used to our hot khameeri rotis in delhi and completely hated the kulcha of lucknow. Their nihari was different than served in delhi and did not like that as well.. possibly its an acquired taste.. all in all a good experience to try lucknowi foods under 1 roof

Kareem's Gomtinagar Lucknow is a beloved destination for food enthusiasts, offering an inviting atmosphere paired with genuine service. This restaurant specializes in Mughlai cuisine, showcasing a variety of mouthwatering non-vegetarian dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. Renowned for its rich biryani and creamy korma, Kareem's captures the essence of North Indian flavors while staying true to authentic Mughlai traditions.
The biryani was absolutely fantastic. The aroma was amazing, and the taste was even better, with perfectly cooked rice and tender, flavorful meat. Every bite was a delightful experience, and it's clear a lot of care went into making it. This is a biryani that truly deserves admiration.

This place is located in the main road very easy to find. Their shining billboard and the name "Kareem's" will definitely draw some attention. Parking will not be issue they have good space in form of service road. The ambiance is good and vibrant. Very colourful and striking at first impression. The staff is attentive and quick to take orders. The food is served hot and not much delay. Coming to the taste they definitely need some improvement. It's definitely not among the best restaurant of Lucknow taste wise. The food taste is just average though the quantity is good. The prices are on higher side so the taste improvement is much needed. Shahi Tukda is a delicacy and famous in Lucknow is big let down. They definitely don't know how to prepare it. Rest of the food items were average.

I had ordered mutton nihari last day from zomato from this shop but they didn't gave me any nihari only few left off mutton pieces and full of gravy and charged more then 700 , what the hell u guys are doing worst experience I'll not recommend anyone to visit this shop , they are fraudsters

Amazingly amazing food. The roasted chicken is out of the world. And they have a chicken dish (chicken achari tikka) is one of the best chicken I had in my life. If you visit Lucknow, then must plan a trip to this restaurant.

I recently tried Kareem’s in Gomti Nagar. The Paya Shorba was excellent – light, flavorful and cooked perfectly, definitely the highlight of my meal. The Paya Nihari Special was rich and tasty, though I felt it could be a bit more consistent in tenderness. Kebabs and starters were delicious as always, full of authentic taste. Service was decent and ambiance is fine, though could be improved a little. Overall, a great place for Mughlai food in Lucknow – I’d recommend it for anyone craving good paya dishes and kebabs.
Mr.Bharadvaja — Google review
During my trip to Lucknow for business, I ordered some food from Kareems. The biryani was Fabulous and the Chicken roll was crunchy and succulent. The quality of the product is top notch. And food is very affordable given the quality. Will definitely order again.

The ambience is pretty great and they're very welcoming. Ambience, cleanliness, and washroom is well maintained. The food tasted amazing. Ordered chicken soup, mutton biryani, parathe with kebab. Everybody is courteous
Payal P — Google review
Food is worst, as per my experience this does not seem to be original Kareem's. Mutton Kebab, Paratha and Mutton Karachi Gravy(this might not be the correct name of the item) were below average and the sahi tukda was worst. All the items were over priced.

Mashi Biryani World is a casual eatery in Lucknow known for its special biryanis. The restaurant has a yellow-and-brown color scheme and is popular among students for its affordable yet delicious biryani options. Located in the Chowk locality, Mashi Biryani World offers the best Hyderabadi biryani in the northern state of India.
The best Hyderabadi Biryani in the town. The most delicious biryani one can have in the northern belt. Small outlet with limited seating at the cross road which follows the busiest chikan kurti market. Hyderabadi biriyani, curries, kebab and paratha are all amazing. Must try - Hyderabadi Mutton/Chicken Biryani, Galouti Kebabs
Sai R — Google review
I doubt their google map ratings here. They provide 10% off on the order for the google map ratings. Cleanliness is very bad here, food is average and service is ok as well. 1) We had vegetarian biryani here, the rice were very sticky, and biryani was not as the people mentioned here in ratings. Dastarkhan has better biryani than this restaurant. 2) They use the same utensils for vegetarian and non vegetarian biryani. Hygiene is very bad here. 3) Sitting place is very unclean, hand wash unclean and the washroom was very bad.
Sandeep S — Google review
This place is much talked about for the quality of the Biryani they serve. It is a small restaurant on the junction of a very busy road. We went for dinner around 10 PM and the roads were empty so we did not find any issue with the parking . But during day time when it's quite busy parking will be an issue. The ambiance is moreover like a mess with less seating arrangements. The place definitely looks congested. The place has limited options and it's biryani which is their main usp. They don't have starters except for Galawati Kabab. The place is very pocket friendly and the quantity they serve is quite good at this price. The biryani is just awesome and was piping hot. One of the best biryani can be tasted here in Lucknow. The dessert double ka meetha is also good and one can try this. It's a good place to take out . Dining can be challenging here if crowded . Note : the Mashi Biryani in Gomti Nagar is a total waste and should not be confused with this outlet.

I have gone for Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani which was tasty and spicy🔥.I loved the taste and would recommend people who love little spicy biryani.
Ramiza A — Google review
Recently visited Mashi Biryani Chowk outlet after hearing a lot of buzz about their Hyderabadi biryani. For starters, ordered Chicken Galawati Kebab with paratha and I was pleasantly surprised that chicken kebabs were so tender, flavorful & well spiced. The paratha was so thin & flaky, a good one. Next, tried their Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani, requesting it to be mildly spicy. While the spice level was still on the higher side but damm good in taste. It was served with salan & raita and the portion size was more than enough. It was a great switch from the usual Awadhi biryani to this one. Overall the visit was satisfying and worth it.
Satya A — Google review
Must visit if you are in Lucknow and want to have best taste in affordable price range. Everything was perfect... quality, quantity, service Improvement area - Instead of rice they should add more pieces of chicken (😔 should be 3 or 4 in single rather than 2 ) Dining area could have been more spacious with few more waiters considering the crowd at peak hours which will eventually result into less waiting time. Service was amazing

Awadhi restaurant

Kebab shop
Lalla Biryani is a celebrated spot in Lucknow known for its well-tenderized meat and perfectly spiced rice. The mutton biryani is loved by many for its amazing taste. Despite lacking in ambience, the restaurant makes up for it with its flavorful biryani. Situated in the heart of Old Lucknow, the shop draws crowds eager to savor this authentic and unique Lucknawi dish.
This place serves one of the best Awadhi Biryanis you can find in Lucknow. The place is located in a congested, busy area and the shop is quite small yet crowded after 4 when it opens for business. The biryani is laced with ghee and there is not one ounce of rice which would be dry. They only serve mutton and it is tender and tastes delicious ! You may also try the kebabs as well.
Kaustubh G — Google review
Located in a crowded street had two shops adjacent both belongs to same owner the newer one has better seating facility Had mutton biryani and mutton korma the biryani was served with onion salad and chutney and raita the raita was very thick biryani rice was lacking flavours but the mutton was juicy and tender.
Semanto S — Google review
Let's get the main thing out of the way: the biryani tastes amazing. This is exactly what Lucknow/Awadhi style biryani is supposed to taste like. The mutton korma was pretty mouthwatering too - must try. Not the most hygienic place though. There's a separate airconditioned seating just two shops ahead of the main restaurant which is still better.
Angad C — Google review
I went there around 5pm. It was tye day shravan ended. Gawd the crowd. I almost fainted waiting for food for 2 hrs. Mutton Biryani was good but cudnt lay hands on anything else. What failed was to manage how to attend to orders and whom to serve. 2 hours waiting pateintly to be served and then being pushed to the back becos some vvip need to be served at the seated location was the turning point where i lost my patience. Will.i go again yes on a day where its not crowded. Not worth 2 hrs wait.

The best biryani in the whole world is here!! Not kidding. I have been to several Islamic countries including Iran, Lebanon, UAE, Egypt etc. etc. But trust me, nowhere we get biryani like Lalla biryani. Also, Verma Uncle (the owner) is a gem of a person. Very hardworking and humble. 5 stars are less for Lalla Biryani. I love it sooooo much!! ❤❤❤❤❤

This place is just few meters away from the Toll. Very good place to have food and coffee. We had breakfast once while travelling. The food was good and served hot but the waiting time was more. The atmosphere was very pleasant when the breeze hits your face. Special mention to the toilets, they had a clean toilet which was very useful since we were travelling from Chennai. I would recommend this place to my friends and family.

When it comes to indulging in the culinary delights of Lucknow, one cannot overlook the exquisite offerings at Mashi Biryani World. Nestled in the Lalbagh area, this gem serves up a mouthwatering Hyderabadi Mutton Dum Biryani that captivates your senses even before you take a bite, thanks to its intoxicating aroma.
Ordered chicken hyderabadi biryani and honestly Loved it Only cons is that atmosphere is not much good inside as when we visited, there was smell of fenyl on the dining area
Ayush S — Google review
I was really disappointed with my visit, especially because they don't offer Lucknow Biryani, which I was expecting. The ambiance was also a letdown—felt almost non-existent, and we had mosquitoes flying around while we were eating. I ordered the Hyderabadi Biryani, but it didn’t come close to what I’ve had in Hyderabad. Having tried biryani in Hyderabad before, I can confidently say this was not even in the same league. However, I will give credit where it’s due—the service was good. One thing to note: don’t rely solely on reviews. The restaurant offers a 10% discount for people who leave reviews on Maps, which may skew opinions. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place for Biryani lovers.

If you’re a biryani lover, Mashi is a place you shouldn’t miss! Known for its delicious and flavorful biryani, this restaurant truly lives up to its reputation. The aroma of freshly cooked spices and perfectly cooked rice makes every bite a delight. The ambience is warm and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal, whether you’re dining with family or on a date. It’s also couple-friendly, offering a cozy and comfortable setting for a relaxed dining experience. Service is prompt, and the staff is courteous, adding to the overall pleasant experience. If you’re looking for a place that serves authentic and tasty biryani in a nice setting, Mashi is definitely worth a visit!

I had the half portion of Hyderabadi Chicken biryani which was quite satisfying and tasty . The quantity was good for one but the seating and ambience was not as expected . The seating was upstairs which had lack of space and i would personally not recommend anyone planning to take your family to the restaurant. Altogether the taste was good but the seating and space was just not sufficient. Would rather prefer ordering online or using take away option and have it at home .

It offers a diverse menu featuring international cuisines and is renowned for its themed dining experience. The restaurant's vibrant decor and wide buffet spread make it a unique destination for food enthusiasts. Guests praise the attentive staff, with special mention of their accommodating service during religious fasts.
I recently visited , and it was a great experience! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The paneer tikka was especially delicious, with the perfect balance of spice and smokiness. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the ambience was warm and welcoming. Overall, a wonderful place for anyone who enjoys authentic Indian cuisine. Highly recommended!
PRAKASH N — Google review
I recently visited Kava at Fairfield Marriott for a family dinner with a party of 14, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Firstly, the air conditioning was not working, making the dining area uncomfortably warm. This issue set a negative tone for the evening. The service was incredibly slow. Despite the restaurant not being overly busy, we faced long wait times for our orders and any assistance we needed. The live counters, usually a highlight, were also operating at a sluggish pace, adding to our frustration. The menu was another major letdown. It lacked variety and the advertised South Indian counters were completely unavailable, which was a significant disappointment for many in our group. The main course options that were available were mediocre at best. Additionally, the staff appeared undertrained and unprepared to handle the needs of the guests. They struggled to provide prompt service and accurate information about the menu items. Overall, our experience at Kava did not meet the standards we expected from a Marriott establishment. I hope the management takes immediate steps to address these issues to improve the experience for future guests.

I'd been here on a business trip with colleagues. We were staying at Fairfield and after the long day, decided to have dinner at Kava and retire. The spread was decent and the taste was what I'd expect from a place like this. However, I did expect a little more of the local cuisine and not the Gujarati special which was on during our stay. Definitely worth a try. Need to try again to make a more concrete opinion.

It sucks when you’re recognised as an old patron, and then when you specifically ask for breast pieces, to be given an ass piece of chicken in the biryani. The rice was flavourful, yes, but it’s the botis that make the biryani. I’m glad they weren’t having mutton biryani in stock, for I am sure that they’d have given me a tail piece in it.
