Las Canteras Beach is a stunning urban beach in Gran Canaria, boasting 3 kilometers of golden sand and a lively esplanade filled with top-notch restaurants and bars. One of its most distinctive features is La Barra, a natural volcanic rock formation that runs parallel to the coast, protecting the majority of the beach from tides and fostering marine life. The area is perfect for snorkeling enthusiasts interested in exploring the seabed and its diverse species.
I fell in love with this beach and the entire long promenade. Early in the morning, when there are no people yet, and in the afternoon, when everything is full of life. The cafes invite you to sit down and enjoy. And the ocean is just worth looking at...
Lina G — Google review
Playa de Las Canteras is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The wide, sandy beach with a gentle slope into the ocean is perfect for long walks along the shore. A natural reef protects against waves, making swimming safe. In the evening, the promenade comes alive, with charming cafés and the sound of the waves creating a unique atmosphere. ..
Tomasz S — Google review
Beautiful beach with golden sand, calm clear water, and a lively promenade full of cafes and shops. Perfect spot to swim, relax, or watch the sunset. Loved it!
Hicham A — Google review
Super nice beach. Quiet places. Many sport activities. Toilets and showers. Directly on boulevard, terraces, etc. In the evening nice atmosphere. Clean boulevard (dogs, step, bicycle not allowed)
Rob — Google review
The beach has nice lovely sand. The sun bed is 3 euros for all day. Umbrella is also 3 euros ( visited in Sept 2025). The beach has toilets, stairs that take you to the toilets and indoor showers. It also has outdoor showers. Both were clean. The shore is not abrupt and there are no stones. However, there were some algae. All in all worth the price and the visit, but there is no bar on the actual beach. Only bars, cafes, restaurants above the beach overlooking the ocean. The water is not transparent like in Greece. All in all nice ocean view, but not amazing.
Catalina — Google review
Beach and sea are clean and beautiful. Two sunbeds with umbrella cost about €9, but prices for Swiss visitors often jump by 50%. Unfortunately, little is invested in the facilities – compared to the Bagni on the Adriatic, clearly weaker.
Y L — Google review
Maybe one of the most iconic beaches on Gran Canaria! But definitely worth visiting! A few km long but very clean, sand is perfect, plenty of space to place your own beach towel, or you can rent a sunbed and umbrella! Amazing promenade, you could walk for hours and discover all amazing restaurants along the beach! Amazing views of the Ocean as well!
Ioan M — Google review
A great place for a walk, a relaxing day at the beach with the whole family, and a delicious dinner with an incredible sunset view.

Playa de Amadores is a spacious cove with a stunning white-sand beach, offering visitors a range of amenities including restaurants, shops, and accommodations built into the cliffs. Despite being man-made, this horseshoe-shaped beach boasts soft sand and tranquil, crystal-clear waters that make it an ideal spot for families. The calm sea makes it perfect for paddling and swimming.
In my opinion, the most beautiful beach in Gran Canaria. Yes, it’s artificial, but this place is just breathtaking…. The water is a beautiful azure colour and the sand is golden. The waves aren’t very big although the water gets deep after a few metres. There are shops and restaurants here, as well as toilets, parking, and a bus stop. You can reach this beach from everywhere on the island by bus. If you’re staying in Puerto Rico, there is a promenade with stunning views that takes just 15 minutes to walk. This beach is a must-see in Gran Canaria. ❤️
Noemi — Google review
Lovely beach , gets very busy , plenty of sunbeds and parasols to hire and plenty of space to pitch up with your own. Very secluded bay with clear water , but does get seaweed float in later in the day 🤷🏼‍♂️ , a complete parade of restaurants and shops behind the beach and plenty of free parking . A big inflatable area with slides and jumps in the sea is available at an extra price !
JASON B — Google review
Walked from Terrazamar and SunSuites to Playa de Amadores, along the promenade between Puerto Deportivo de Puerto Rico and Amadores and all in all the walk took roughly 1 hour from our apartment to Amadores, views were spectacular of Mount Teide in Tenerife, got such a clear view of it, Amadores itself was nice, very crowded, walked to it on Tuesday October 7th 2025 and at roughly 1:30pm place was packed. Nice Beach, Nice Walk. Recommended to all
Josh M — Google review
Very nice beach, two sun beds and an umbrella for €15. The water is clear and the sand isn't a problem because it comes off as soon as you dry off. Unfortunately, we noticed that it tends to get dirty in the afternoon, probably caused by the waves, but in the morning it's very clean.
Greta M — Google review
Very beautiful beach! Soft sandy beach and the water clear in turquoise colour. A huge contrast to the “Rentnerverein” at Playa de Inglés 🤣😅
Selcan Ö — Google review
Absolutely stunning beach good selection of resturants but problem is all sell same food , lovely water but is cloudy and not to good for snorkling.
Andy P — Google review
The worst beach I have ever visited. Very crowded, water is very dirty, shower costs 2€ (crazy) and the toilet 0,70€. Two sunbeds + umbrellas - 15€ (which is not very bad). You cannot survive more than 1h on this place at least end of July!!! Keep away 🙏. As evidence please refer to the photos I posted. As all in one - waste of money and time for nothing. 🤨
Georgi K — Google review
One of the best if not the best beach in Gran Canaria. We’ve loved it here so much we travelled almost daily from Maspalomas. Lovely turquoise water and sand that doesn’t stick on you, plenty of restaurants from where you can see your beach setup and public toilets and showers. Can get very busy, so better come slightly early especially for the free parking. Will come back here one day surely! ⛱️

Playa Anfi del Mar is a picturesque beach with calm waters and palm-fringed shores. Visitors can relax under umbrellas, rent loungers, and even pedal boats for a fun day on the water. The area is close to charming coastal towns like Arguineguin, Puerto Rico, and Puerto de Mogan, each offering its own unique atmosphere. From sleepy fishing villages to lively seaside spots, there's something for every traveler.
A hidden gem in Gran Canaria. Anfi, the marina and the beach transport you to the Caribbean. Lovely golden sand, great vibe and lovely beach front with shops and places to eat. Fantastic area to scuba dive and explore the sea. You may see the odd crab! A good place to stay and explore the other coves and ports along the south coast.

Playa Anfi del Mar – Beautiful & Relaxing A stunning beach with soft white sand and calm turquoise water, perfect for swimming and relaxing. The area is very clean, well-maintained, and family-friendly, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and facilities nearby. Ideal for a full day at the beach—highly recommended!
Dr.med. A — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches in Gran Canaria, along with Amadores. White sand and palm trees, sunbeds and umbrellas cost €15 for the whole day, and restaurants, shops, and convenient parking are all within walking distance. The road leading to the beach is pedestrianized, and there are both free and paid parking spaces on the main road. The beach is clean and well-maintained. In addition to a wide selection of restaurants, bars, and shops, there's also a large supermarket with everything you need for a day at the beach or for a complete grocery shopping experience—really well-stocked. The restrooms just a few meters from the beach cost €1, while those near the shops in the arcade and the supermarket are free. The water is crystal clear and spotless.
Luca G — Google review
This beach is breathtaking. It replicates a Caribbean beach, with Cuban palm trees and white sand imported from the Caribbean. The water is so clear and beautiful 😍 an absolute must see in Gran Canaria. Since this beach is owned by a hotel, access is right next to the hotel and the car park is at the resort. We took the bus from Puerto Rico (2 mins) as there is a bus stop right outside of the beach/hotel; there are buses to the whole of the island so I would definitely recommend this. And of course access is free. This place is like a village: there’s a little park, river, shops, etc. When I posted pictures about this place, multiple people asked me where this was as they could not believe such beaches can be found in Europe..
Noemi — Google review
🌟 Beautiful and family-friendly beach! Anfi del Mar is a stunning artificial beach with soft white sand (imported from the Sahara) and crystal-clear, calm water—perfect for swimming and relaxing. The beach is clean, well-maintained, and has plenty of facilities nearby: restaurants, shops, and sunbed rentals. Great for families with kids. Parking can be tricky, but totally worth it!
Mirela O — Google review
Playa Anfi del Mar was a very pleasant surprise for us. The water is crystal clear with an incredible turquoise hue, thanks to the white sand. Since the beach is located in an artificial bay, there are no waves, and the water temperature is ideal even in the colder months. We were able to swim comfortably in February without any issues. The beach was lively, filled with people enjoying the beautiful surroundings. It’s an excellent choice for families with children, as the gentle slope makes it a safe and enjoyable spot. However, it’s important to note that it can get quite crowded. Overall, it’s one of the most stunning beaches on the island!
Cosmin B — Google review
Gorgeous beach/ sea. Some water sports nearby. We walked from Arguineguin along the costal path. There is a great vibe with shops and bars/ restaurants. Photos are nearby..Sunbeds are 15€

Playa de Sardina del Norte is a charming sandy beach nestled between rugged cliffs on the northwestern coast of Gran Canaria. This picturesque spot boasts golden sands and faces south, ensuring plenty of sunshine throughout the year, much like the nearby Agaete Valley. Known for its vibrant marine life, it’s a haven for diving enthusiasts who can explore an underwater world teeming with octopuses, lobsters, seahorses, and angel fish.
Beautiful public sandy beach/ cove with a great view. The water is very clear and easy to access. There are stones in the water which are home to ocean life, making it a great spot for snorkeling as well. The water was not too rough in this area, quite peaceful. The beach is small, but it wasn't overcrowded. There are showers and lifeguards as well.
CJ — Google review
:) Exactly what modern Public Infrastructure updates to Public Spaces should do. The amazing renovation of this beach area is almost complete. Has public toilets now, showers and even a space dedicated for Scuba Divers and snorkelers to change in and out of their gear. Traffic is now controlled by a gate entry system allowing for more pedestrian friendly space. Clean, renovated and especially family friendly with proper bonus of being handicapped accessible. Good job. Highly recommended for a visit. If you are in good shape we recommend to hike along the many sidewalks and narrow streets surrounding the area. We have already made trips to this area twice in the last few weeks. It can be very windy at the beach making it very difficult to place and hold an umbrella.
Hello H — Google review
We really enjoyed this small cozy place. The beach is small but also not so crowded (maybe in weekends it’s something else). Showers, toilets, plenty of parking places nearby, one supermarket and some cozy restaurants. Definitely one of the places i would like to visit on my trip to Gran Canaria.
Enjoyfamilytravels — Google review
Small local sand beach. Wavy sea. Magnificent sunsets (with Teide silhouette faraway). Local red crabs are a nice bonus.
Žilvinas P — Google review
I really loved this beach- it's small, fairly sheltered and the water was teeming with fish so take your snorkel! We visited in February and there was plenty of free parking. The restaurant on the seafront is well worth a visit!
Abi T — Google review
Nice calm, mix of locals and tourists. Good for swimming and snorkeling. The occasional strong gust of wind.
Nada E — Google review
A good beach, water was calm and plenty of space. But weirdly the toilets and changing areas were all locked in the middle of the day. There was also filming going on opposite the beach on the pier for some film with John Travolta in. Was interesting.
Jake C — Google review
Beautiful little dark sand beach in a quiet cove, with colourful houses built into the cliffs surrounding it. We were there in January and it was pretty quiet, but still hot in the sun. The water was a bit chilly at first, but fine once you got used to it, and very clear. The only real downside was that it was a bit windy, which kept blowing the fine sand over us. There's free parking a couple of minutes' walk up the hill, and a nice little restaurant overlooking the beach.

Playa de Güigüí, also known as Playa Guigui, is a secluded and remote beach located on the west coast of Gran Canaria. Accessible only by boat or a strenuous hike, this hidden gem offers pristine black sands and crystal blue waters. Visitors can choose to embark on a three-hour round trip walk from Tasartico or take on the challenge of starting at La Aldea de San Nicolas for breathtaking views along the way.
Beautiful nature hike with a reward of a nice wild sandy beach at the end. All the people we met were nice. Beach is sandy with calm ocean and perfect mild steep walk to get to the deeper water. No rocks in the water. The hike took us cca 2,5h one way with some breaks and observing the nature. The hike goes through a mountain so you have to ascend and then descend it to get to the beach. Cca 500m in elevation. And of course you have to do it both ways :) Bring water, some food, shoes and enjoy the raw nature :)))
Pavol L — Google review
Gorgeous nature and an amazing beach. But be prepared. This is a real hike, 5 kilometers over a mountain and down again through a valley and landing at the beach. It is absolutely worth it but come prepared. 2 liters of water each person, leave water in the car, bring food to make the most of your stay at the beach. I saw a couple make the hike, stay 40 mins and leave again because they weren’t prepared.
Manuel M — Google review
Beautiful hike to the Beach. Wear proper shoes because its a 2 hour walk to the Beach and 2 hours back to the car. It's not really hard, but you need a basic level of fitness. Elevation around 500 m
Michel L — Google review
If you are planning to go to this beach you need to read this! First of all you should know that it’s an 11.5 km hiking in total. With an ascent of around 900m. This hiking is kinda hard if you are not used to this. 10% shadow on the trail! You need hiking shoes/boots! And be aware that there ia NO WATER! It s very hot and i would recommend at least 2l of water! Im not trying to change your mind but the beach is not THAT nice… i’ve seen nicer. If you are a business seeker, try going with a boat and sell water and drinks😉😉 Be aware that lots of people go UP 1.7km and when they see the rest of it ( which is going down and coming back up later ) to the beach they turn around! So… again. Dont forget water!
Dentist Ț — Google review
Nice sunset 🌅 It is not easy hike so bare in mind, you need to camp there if you want to go for sunset or go back in the dark (flashlight is must then)
Nikoleta M — Google review
The start point of the hike to this beach is easy enough to find by car. And it is a hike. make no mistake. Just for reference, I will hike 6 miles in 1h30 through fields and woodland etc. This is 3 miles each way and it took me 1h20 each way. The trail is easy to follow but it is rocky, gravelly and steep. I was concerned about the decent due to how slippery it was but in the end, it was ok. Good shoes are a must. Getting to the peak of the ascent I met someone coming back. I had barely enough breath to hold a conversation. I am 52 so cut me some slack :). The hardest part is the last 20 metres to the beach! But it's all relative and overall a simple enough hike. just taxing. The beach was decent. Just a nice sandy beach. For me, it was the getting there. The sea looked rough but I felt comfortable swimming . There is little in the way of current so despite the waves, if you float about, you will not drift very far. The hike back is easier. Overall, a good experience.
Ian C — Google review
A beautiful, secluded beach without crowds of tourists. As a full-day trip with some hiking, it's great — just keep in mind that there's very little shade on the beach, and it's also hard to find any along the way. Otherwise, it's a stunning, remote piece of nature.
Tomáš R — Google review
Tough hike! We are two men in our late 30s and fairly fit. We hiked here in early October on a day with some cloud. We were breathing hard and sweating a lot on the ascent: we took 1h30m each way with just a short stop at the pass. I would strongly advise against the hike on a hot cloudless day in high summer. But for us in October it was lovely. Hard work and a very nice beach as a reward where we stayed for 4hrs with all the food and water we brought.

If you're travelling in Gran Canaria and your lookong for a nice day trip out, or holiday location, this is a hidden gem, so much to see and do. Whether it's walks and exploring, dining out, street markets or just bathing on a beach. This is somewhere to consider. Very clean and tidy, and well laid out.

Fabulous resort with small sheltered beach and a marina. Numerous bars and cafes clustered around the harbour and in the town. There is a very large street market on Friday, when it gets very busy. Good bus service to Playa del Cura and Peurto Rico and beyond from the bus station which is a short walk from the harbour. Plenty of shops in the town centre, and in a new looking shopping plaza on the far side of the bus station. Tge resort has a more traditional look and feel compared to others on the island, with mostly more traditional archtecture. Many streets around the harbour gave lovely climbing flowers covering the buildings. Well worth a visit.

Playa de Maspalomas is a stunning beach located in the Canary Islands, known for its picturesque sand dunes and expansive golden shore. Stretching over 3km, it is the second longest beach on the island, offering plenty of space for sunbathing and leisurely walks through the dunes. The area features lifeguard towers and snack bars, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors.
Being on Maspalomas beach at sunset is a truly magical experience in Gran Canaria. The combination of the sound of the waves with the golden hues of the sunset creates a romantic and unforgettable moment. I recommend starting your visit 1.5 hours before sunset at the Maspalomas Dunes, so you can experience both the golden sands and a beautiful beach sunset. At the end of your walk, you'll reach the old lighthouse, creating a magical and romantic atmosphere that might transport you to another era.
Ahmad — Google review
Wide, sandy, and dramatic, Playa de Maspalomas stands out thanks to the dunes and open sea views. It stretches a long way, so you can always find space, whether you want to sunbathe, walk, or just sit and watch the waves. The dunes are the highlight, worth walking through at least once. Some areas are more lively and busy, especially near the lighthouse and beach bars. Other parts are quieter or naturist-friendly. There’s a mix of families, couples, and solo visitors. Facilities are decent: toilets, loungers, lifeguards, and places to eat within walking distance. Just bring water and sun protection, it gets hot with little shade.
Patrik K — Google review
Love this beech its amazing to watch the people walking along with no cares at all, lots of vending places to get refreshments too. Lovely vibe too the waves are huge too so be careful if you like to swim in the sea as its a very strong current too. All in all its beautiful and you have dunes too but we never got that far but looked amazing too. Nice walk along the prom too and plenty of shops along the way.

Dunas de Maspalomas is a 998-acre arid coastal nature reserve featuring desert-like sand dunes. Classified as a Protected Natural Site in 1944, these golden sand mountains extend for almost six kilometers and can reach heights of almost 25 meters. Despite being a popular location, the area offers incredible scenery and tranquility. It's recommended to visit at sunrise for a quieter and peaceful experience due to its popularity among tourists.
Pretty easy access on foot, a bit of a struggle to find parking. Breathtaking views, especially at sunset. Walking barefoot is an amazing experience, and a MUST! Great ice cream near by. Good destination for a family trip or just by yourself.

The Maspalomas Dunes are definitely a must see when visiting Gran Canaria. The landscape is unique and gives you the feeling of being in a desert right next to the ocean. Sunset is probably the best time to visit, as the light and colors over the dunes are stunning, but it is also worth experiencing during the day. Walking across the dunes down to the beach is a great activity and allows you to enjoy both the views and the natural surroundings. It’s a good idea to bring water and comfortable shoes, as the sand can get hot and the walk can be longer than expected.

One of the most unique spots on the island. Suitable for all age groups. Breathtaking sunset views from the dune ridges. Sunset (in October) was between 6 and 7 Highly recommend taking a stroll down the beach to the light house. The sun sets right behind it with spectacular views

Amazing place... Other wolrly dunes , behind a long beach.. . There's a mix of naturist and clothed visitors, but nobody seems to care and it works well.. you could wonder for hours either clothed or not.. .. the dunes themselves are quite difficult to walk through, especially when it's hot, so make sure you take plenty of water...
Jamie T — Google review
Incredibly beautiful but beware if you go w a tour. We were given just 10-15 min and that's not even enough to go to the toilet as there is only one female cubicle for the public loo. There are no souvenir shops and many ppl are illegally running around the dunes, which is irritating. Go when its overcast otherwise this is too hot and only one cafe to sit down. No parking. There is literally nothing to buy or enjoy here other than to walk the three designated routes.
L J — Google review
A challenging walk throughout the warm sandy hills. Worth walking along the beach which can be much easier and approx 3miles stretch. However, be aware as will come across a nudist section which is right in the middle of the beach. During a windy time sand is everywhere and big waves 🌊 in presence.
H A — Google review
This is a beautiful protected area. It really did surprise me how large the area is. It was a shame to see the human ‘effect’ of tampering on some of the dunes with hand written names - it did take away from the experience. There are signs that suggest you shouldn’t walk along the dune tops to preserve the dunes, from the beachside however you can access the dunes and be respectable to the areas by walking alongside the dunes rather than over them.
Danielle A — Google review
A small desert on an island — such an amazing place! There are several beaches nearby and plenty of spots to eat or grab a quick snack, something for every taste. The sunsets and sunrises are absolutely beautiful. If you go on a sunny day, especially when the sun is high, make sure to wear something on your feet so the sand doesn’t burn, cover your head, and take some water with you!

Nestled on the southwest coast of Gran Canaria, Playa de Puerto Rico is a vibrant and sheltered cove that has become a beloved destination for families and sun-seekers alike. With its soft sandy beach and inviting waters, it’s no wonder this spot boasts the title of one of the island's sunniest locations. While it has seen significant development since its inception in the 1970s—characterized by towering apartment blocks resembling an amphitheater—the charm remains intact.
Perfect holiday location. Sand, sea, sunshine and sangria 😎 Great hotels and food. Lovely walks along the promenade and sandy beach. Boat trips along the coast. Puerto Rico is a major tourist resort located on the southwest coast of the Spanish island of Gran Canaria. Known for its sunny climate and golden, family-friendly beaches with imported Saharan sand, the resort offers water sports, a marina, and lively nightlife. It's a popular destination for families and couples seeking sun, beaches, and entertainment, with options for water sports, shopping, dining, and excursions to nearby areas like the picturesque town of Mogán.
John M — Google review
Clean, calm, and family-friendly. Playa de Puerto Rico is a well-kept beach with soft sand and gentle waves, good for swimming, even with kids. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available, but also space to sit on your own towel if you prefer. Shops, toilets, and cafés are all close by, so it’s easy to spend a whole day here without hassle. Gets busy in the afternoon, but the atmosphere stays relaxed. Great choice if you want a beach that’s easy to access and has everything nearby.
Patrik K — Google review
This beach is nothing special. Overcrowded and murky water. It’s better to walk 15 minutes to Amadores beach by the promenade where the water is azure. Or a 2 minute bus ride to anfi del mar where the water is like the caribbean. I suppose this beach looks nice in the morning, but for a beach day, there are much better options in the area.

Sandy beach in the busy resort of Puerto Rico. Short walk from town centre. Marina is adjacent to the beach. Bar/restaurant on quayside has novelty swim up bar. Sheltered for swimming.
Stuart M — Google review
Plenty of sun loungers to hire, beautiful warm sea & plenty of restaurants on the promenade where you take 1 step onto the sand.
Philip D — Google review
The best beach in Gran Canria. Sunbed is 7 euros for the day, 10 with an umbrella for shade. ALWAYS SUNNY, I have never ever been here and it hasn't been glorious sunshine, whether that's in January or June it's always sunny!! There's great centres nearby, lovely beach restaurants and great views. Topless bathing is allowed, although naturism is allowed, its never really seen here, so for an all over tan, I'd suggest just in front of the dunes in maspalomas beach between playa de ingles and maspalomas, it's about a 15 minute walk from playa de ingles end and 20 from maspalomas end. Peurto Rico harbour to the right as you're looking at the sea, has many excursions available and the actual port you can see Ray-fish, turtles etc in the crystal clear water. Back to Peurto Rico beach though, for a lovely paddling or swimming area, to get a great tan and to have a great choice of food and the option for a sun-lounger, then you won't be disappointed with Peurto Rico.

Playa de Meloneras is a tranquil and family-friendly beach located in Gran Canaria's southwestern corner, near Maspalomas' sand dunes. This 500-meter stretch of soft golden sands offers plenty of space for visitors to relax and enjoy the warm, calm waters. Following a recent makeover, the area now features luxurious hotels, high-end designer shops, and a variety of seafront restaurants.
A beautiful beach just west of the Faro de Maspolomas along the boardwalk. The beach is a bit rocky, but on windy days, it does not get hit as hard as the beach area near Faro de Maspolomas. Also, there are several restaurants just off the beach.
David C — Google review
I lived on the beach and slept in a sleeping bag for a couple months in 1976 when there was no development there. Directly behind the beach was a tomato farm. A couple hundred metres or so back there was an adobe hut where a guy sold beer, wine, rum and coke. There was a small restaurant on the edge of the beach that was open in the afternoons. I washed dishes there for 300 pesetas a day, a sandwich and a half bottle of wine. I guess my review is a little dated.
Ter C — Google review
Nice quiet beach with a solid number of restaurants and ice cream. All that you need is here. Only downside are stones - the beach is mix of stones and sand. Pretty ok during high tide but tricky during low tide. But TBH we ended up on this one each time we wanted to go to a beach on the south of the island - calm winds, sunset over the ocean + not crowded at all in february :)
Pavol L — Google review
Nice little beach near various resorts. When I visited during May, most shops and restaurants were closed. It seems like off season. The beach and surrounding area is fine to visit briefly but I wouldn’t go out of your way.
Steven G — Google review
Our hotel was near this beach and I really wanted to like it more! It was very quiet. We wanted to get dinner near the beach but most places were deserted so we opted to walk to the boulevard of Playa de Maspalomas most night. Because it's in a bit of a bay area it does get less wind than Playa de Maspalomas. It might be more lively in early August/July! I do think it has a lot of potential.
Jannina — Google review
Lovely beach and surrounding area. Beach itself is great and all the restaurants and bars are much higher quality than further along the beach heading towards Playa de Ingles. Boardwalk above the beach stretches past this beach as well so lovely to stroll along. Hotels along here also higher quality. Definitely my favourite beach and area along this stretch.

Vegueta, a historic district in Gran Canaria, is home to a museum that showcases a permanent collection dedicated to the island's aboriginal population, the Canarii. The museum's extensive collection includes various materials from Gran Canaria and other Canary Islands, such as ceramic containers, terracotta figurines like the Idol of Tara, and over 200 pintaderas.
Historic old town. Stunning cathedral. Friendly people. Nice little coffee shops nearby. Decent number of car parks within 10 mins walk of centre.

Vegueta is a beautiful and atmospheric part of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. As the island’s historic district, it offers a glimpse into the past with its charming narrow streets, traditional Canarian architecture, and peaceful ambiance. The main square is lovely and inviting, perfect for a relaxing stroll or a coffee at one of the nearby cafés. The impressive Cathedral dominates the area with its stunning façade and peaceful interior. Wandering through the small cobblestone streets feels like stepping back in time, every corner has its own story. If you're visiting Gran Canaria, Vegueta is definitely worth a visit!

Very beautiful place with lovely spanish buildings. Very suitable for tourists. Around the area there is a cathedral, many cafes, and an avinida (shopping road). Definitely recommend to go to Christopher colombus house located at calle colon. Has very beautiful history, maps, ship models and the house itself is wonderful.

My favourite part of Las Palmas is this: the Old Town. I love it. The architecture, the streets, the greenery, the restaurants & the shops are amazing 🤩 I could now get enough of it and after multiple visits, you can still find hidden gems and be surprised at every corner.

Vegueta is the oldest part of the city, founded in 1478. The district is characterised by its well-preserved colonial architecture, with buildings dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries. Many buildings feature vibrant colours and traditional Canarian wooden balconiesIt is also home to several important landmarks, including the Catedral de Santa Ana, Casa de Colón, and Plaza del Pilar Nuevo.

Vegueta, the historic heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is a must-visit for history lovers and culture seekers. With its cobbled streets, colonial-era buildings, and lively atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to wander and soak in the island’s past. One of its highlights is Casa de Colón, a stunning mansion linked to Christopher Columbus. The Santa Ana Cathedral and its picturesque plaza are also nearby. As you explore, you’ll notice beautiful wooden balconies, cozy cafés, and vibrant tapas bars. For a taste of local life, check out Mercado de Vegueta for fresh produce and Canarian treats. If you’re there on a Thursday, don’t miss Tapas Night, when bars serve delicious small plates with local wine or beer. Vegueta blends history, culture, and great food, making it one of Gran Canaria’s most charming spots.

Playa de las Nieves is a hidden gem located in the serene village of Agaete, on the northwest coast of Gran Canaria. This picturesque beach, adorned with smooth stones and crystal-clear waters, invites visitors to unwind and soak up the sun while listening to the gentle waves lapping at the shore. Surrounded by stunning cliffs and golden sands, it offers a perfect escape from everyday hustle and bustle. The charming fishing village nearby features delightful blue and white houses that add to its allure.
Iconic place in the north west of the Gran Canaria. The small village has charm, in the harbour you can find allot of restaurants with nice views!
Costin O — Google review
Playa de las Nieves is a popular beach located right by the harbor. It's clean and well-maintained. The surrounding village is nice, with plenty of restaurants and stunning views that add to the experience. However, the beach itself is quite rocky, with black sand that makes it less ideal for laying out and sunbathing comfortably. If you're looking for a picturesque spot to enjoy the scenery or grab a meal nearby, it's worth a visit. But for those seeking a classic sandy beach day, this might not be the perfect choice.
Rosi P — Google review
On the plus side, there is an interesting view of the coast, but you won't find soft sand here and there's a ferry line and terminal right in front of you, so there won't be any top-top views.

Well worth a Visit to the Port, Fish Restaurants a beach ok for sunbathing. Not to busy during the week. Weekends its packed, with locals & you will struggle to find a place to eat as they are all full. We went to the Spar Supermarket in the end, to get some food.

We went there in July 2023 to visit the famous Agaete. It was quite windy on that day which is usually not a case. A small pebble beach is a nice spot to have a short break during a walk in Agaete. Visitors can explore the Cage of Lories to see colorful birds from around the world and the House of Butterflies, which boasts being the largest in Europe.
Wonderfull place to visit. There are mostly smaller animals here to see, but at least as wonderfull is the flora, gorgeous flowers, plants and trees. They have exciting and interesting shows and you can spend at least five to six hours here in bewonderment! Step away one day from the beach and you won’t regret it!
Ray A — Google review
We visited today, had prebooked the bus with the tickets, we went from Puerto rico & public bus takes over an hour because of all the stops, obviously cheaper, but the coach we went on only took about 35- 40 mins, dropped off at aqua park first. It is quite a leg stretch to cover all the park, but so worth it, I would say if you like birds then time it to see the exotic bird display first, then stay there for birds of prey straight after, we didn't (even though we had a photo of the times) it just didn't register, because it is a fair trek up to the top of the park, the birds of prey fly right out to the mountains & fly around in the cloud, such a wonderful back drop for it. The dolphins were absolutely wonderful, all looked well cared for as do all the animals. There is a lovely little aquarium as well as birds of all sorts, butterfly house, orchid house, reptiles of all sorts, snakes, lizards, crocodile, caiman, there are armadillos. Like anywhere else this is not a cheap option for a drink or snack or cooked food, but it is what it is, you can take water or drink with you, but when it is so hot it gets warm fairly quick. You can have photos taken with the different birds, & the dolphins(€25 for 1 photo,€35 for 2) not sure on the price of the birds. Definitely recommend it for a day out for all ages.

The staff was super professional. We didn't wait in a queue anywhere. Plenty of toilets, a place to eat and the shows they organize are worth watching. Go in the morning and plan for a full day there. There are so many animals we have never seen before and everything was clean and well taken care of.

Such a hidden gem! 🐬💙 We planned a quick visit and ended up spending almost the whole day — so much to see and do! The dolphin show was amazing, the park was super clean, and it’s so easy to find your way around. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! 🌿✨

We had an amazing time at Palmitos Park! The animal shows and animations were truly fantastic – engaging, well-organized, and perfect for both kids and adults. We spent a wonderful and valuable day together as a family, surrounded by nature and incredible animals. You can feel the love and care put into the place. The only thing that could be improved is the quality of the photos taken during the experience – it would be great to have clearer, higher-resolution memories from such a beautiful day. Still, 100% recommend it – we’ll definitely come back!
LB — Google review
Absolutely brilliant to see animals that actually look happy in a zoo all the pens are a reasonable size and its great that you can walk through and interact with some of the animals and even feed some e.g exotic birds. The live shows were well coordinated and informative definitely recommend

Had a great time. Obviously the dolphins were a must see, lots of fun and very well choreographed. And the free flying bird display was very good, never got on with the idea of birds being cooped up in cages but here thay get to fly free three times a day. Seeing a flock of macaws flying around the mountain side was a beautiful experience.lots of other things to see and do and animals generally look well cared for.like all zoos food and drink over priced but can't be cheap place to run so let them off that and set in great location.
Paul R — Google review
Next level especially the dolphin show just WOW! Beautiful scenery, cactus garden and interactive shows/enclosures. We fed the Emus for €2 but I would avoid with children because they were quite sharp on the hands but hilarious experience. The birds were lovely, photo opportunity’s and little stands around to grab a snack/drink. Easy bus to get there and taxi rank with lots of taxis outside to get home easier if the bus doesn’t arrive.

Sioux City Park San AUGUSTIN is a unique attraction on the island of Gran Canaria, offering visitors an immersive experience in an American Wild West town. As soon as you step into the park, you'll feel like you've been transported back in time with cowboy shows, bank robberies, and encounters with outlaws. The park features classic buildings reminiscent of those seen in Western movies and offers activities such as horseback riding and dressing up like cowboys or Indians.
A great day out at Sioux City Park. The complimentary pick up service worked really well and was on time. The park and the sets were great, quite an authentic feel given they are sets. It did evoke childhood memories of spaghetti westerns on the TV on rainy days in the UK. The entry was reasonably priced for a family of 4 when (£86). The shows were fantastic, funny and you could tell the actors were working hard. The animals were a real treat to see and as part of the show. The food was good and reasonable priced given there are no competitors. Highly recommend.
JK — Google review
The sets are very realistic. And the park may be exciting for kids, but as adults who just like western stuff - it was a bit lacking. There's a few shows a day which are funny (and they do them in a sort of Spanglish so that most the audience can follow!), but there's not much to do in between besides grab a beer in the crowded saloon. (Unless you are the actors who also run all the other services of the park - Hats off to the great staff for sure!) Would be cool if the park offered some kind of scavenger hunt (on paper or in an app - it could be done in several languages) and teach some history of the buildings and all. A shooting gallery style game would also be pretty cool. Or some line dance lessons. Something a bit more interactive or that could be done on your own time, between shows. Facilities were good - plenty of free parking, reasonably priced food/beverages (though not always enough tables to enjoy them from!)
Jenna C — Google review
A fantastic place at a great price. Upon entering the town, you feel like you've stepped back in time. It's great that you can enter the buildings to feel the atmosphere of the place. Plus, all the shows are fun and full of laughs. The saloon serves good food in a fantastic atmosphere. Thank you so much for a great time, and I highly recommend others to visit this place—it's worth it.

We've just toured the whole of Gran Canaria and Sioux City was one of our favourite days out. The immersive Wild West set, show quality and professionalism of the staff was top notch. It's great for both adults and kids.
Ricky M — Google review
We had a great day at Sioux City. There is a free bus from various locations which was a great bonus. There are shows on throughout the day which are spaced very well. They give you enough time to look around the town, (Which was originally built for the Spaghetti Western - Take a Hard Ride- staring Lee Van Cleef) in between shows. The performers were excellent, and we really appreciated their hard work. Food and drink very reasonably priced. Especially considering that there is nowhere else to go for a bite.
Michael H — Google review
Not great, not terrible. It's an experience. Kind of old humor in my opinion. The animals are awesome, tho, and also the acting lady. She's such a badass. The goats seemed a bit poorly fed. They left the impression that they are only fed with the corn that people buy for €1. It's a lovely experience to feed the animals, but I don't think that is enough food for them. Food is also below average. Don't get your expectations too high.
Adriana D — Google review
Simply lovely😀 It was perfect. Staff was really friendly, the location is beautiful and the prices are good. The show was really funny and gives you an excellent look into the wild west. Big thanks for the Stuff.

This was an unexpected highlight of our holiday. We'd heard about it but were not to sure what to expect The shows were very good with comedy worked into the routines. The set felt very realistic to be honest and did give a propper Wild West feel to them expecially in the surrounding landscape The staff were all lovely and good at their jobs which really made it for us Before we went were were a bit worried it could be too child orentated however this is a place for all ages, we are in our late 20's and loved it, it has as much for adults as it does children My partner loved the animals as well. The baby goats were a particular highlight They also have a coach wich will take you there and back from near by areas completely free of charge

Only x2 & free (at the moment )public toilets! Which are located in parking lots about 500m off the beach and poorly signed - including signs facing down the wrong walk path. A big beach with a huge capacity and nothing for real public toilets to be found. What's worse a couple of glorified outhouses that self flush and are dirty and poorly maintained with no hand wash or paper. Disgusting when you think how many people normally flock here. Cafeterias are not a public service. Why it took us so long to bother coming here - little to no repairs or infrastructure upgrades that are useful or actually beneficial to public health. Today (this review date) as the weather changes (winds, drizzle, sun, winds drizzle, sun repeat) has scared away most of the normal local crowd and covid did the rest to tourism. We are here at a friends invite to meet them so the kids can play. Free Parking currently available (as the transit in the South sucks especially for family groups or if you live or are staying somewhere in the South as it only runs North South along main highway really). Tranist is expensive for any family to travel on regularly and the free parking at the moment (normally about €2 / hr) is a bonus. Free parking in most spots as covid has killed tourism so spaces available. Local friends had chosen this spot out of a nostalgia for days past. Days past due is about the best way to describe here. Aging infrastructure mixed with spot fixes and at least new foot washers and showers. Is it so difficult to install and manage good public toilets? There were x2 toilets for about 3km of beach. That should indicate you'll need at least triple the amount of toilets for people. 2 stars given as the area was clean at the time (bits of cigarettes and bottle caps) lifeguards were on patrol, and it wasn't stupid crowded as it normally is. Granted a clean beach should be easy as barely anyone was at the beach. As for the poor to no toilets, poor state of infrastructure of most signs, paint, walkways etc there is no excuse. Millions in dollars and thousands of people a day used to flow into these spaces. The toilets issues is a gigantic public health issue on these islands and not just here at this beach but every public park, space, natural area and public beach or hidden beach. Building toilets and keeping them in repair and clean needs to be addressed. Maspalomas as a whole is a giant toilet of a beaches pretending to be "natural" with the natural being poop in the water. With no proper infrastructure for the amount of beach and normal traffic its a sad joke. These beaches rarely ever remove the pay as you go beach chairs either and these pay as you go also dont come with a toilet. Lucky for this north streach of the long San Augustin / Maspalomas beaches streach the poo water current normally flows south towards Maspalomas beach so at least the water is a little cleaner. Granted the island governments never post water quality test results anywhere easy to find. For every good small repair or small addition of a an outdoor foot washer or shower they didnt add a single toilet or focus on fixing the real public health issues pre or post covid. No excuse for this except greed - what did they do with all the money that used to flow from tourism? Toilets with staff that clean, monitor and repair them such as on Playa Las Canteras in Las Palmas City to the North is possible and should have been done long ago. Here and are needed on each beach including lifeguards. Not a difficult task as peolle screaming for jobs and the governement is supposed to be investing in public health and the future. Could easily combine the existing broken infrastructure of lifeguard and medical to include toilets & disability access. Could even grab portable tempotlos if woied about the environment and make it a decontamination exercise and sell off of old gear for new tech or just tryout new tech. Wah la quality of life up, jobs up, training up, and rating stars up. Do better government and demand better people.

Nice sheltered beach and wide expanse of sand to find a space. Quieter than Playa de Ingles and Maspalomas. Nice boardwalk above the beach to stroll along.

Lago Taurito Water Park is a family-friendly destination with various swimming pools and attractions for kids. While smaller than Aqualand, it offers reasonable prices and activities suitable for young children. The park will be closed temporarily for improvements from 01/11/23 to 12/12/23.
We visited Lago Taurito waterpark in Gran Canaria, and it was a fantastic experience for the whole family. The park has lots of water slides and attractions, perfect for children of all ages from babies to older kids. Our children really enjoyed their time there. We felt very safe during our visit, as the park follows excellent safety procedures. The swimming pools are also large and there are plenty of them to enjoy. We went with family and had a wonderful time together. One important tip: make sure to reapply sunscreen often throughout the day, as the sun is quite strong. And you can buy the ticket at the same day, was easy and fast. The food was okay and the prices were reasonable. Overall, it’s a great place for a fun-filled family day with lots of water activities!

Brilliant little park. Fab for a day out. You can leave have lunch out and comeback. 3 adults and 1 child cost us 69€. Locker 5€ deposit for a day. 3€ cost umbrella for a day. Great when your kids are bored from hotel swimming pool and sea. I hate big water parks with long waits for a ride. This is just 10-15 min. Wait.
Reni B — Google review
The tickets were €12 per person — everything was fine, not too crowded and no long queues. It’s a small park, but definitely worth the price. A nice place to spend a few fun hours!

We stayed here for 2 days and it was just the right amount of time to stay. Positive points: - the all inclusive is great as you do not have to go looking for restaurants everywhere. - there are lot of other small stores around to get what you need - service is very good - beach is close by - other activities (paid) are available - the rooms are very clean and good Negative points: - the slides CAN cause injuries!! Beware!! - in the evenings and night it's VERY loud because of the dance event held for children where there is a host screaming into the microphone and loud music - limited vegetarian options available in the buffet Overall we had a lot of fun here. We recommend 2-3 days maximum stay.
Review M — Google review
Really enjoyed this waterpark – barely any queues and a solid mix of rides for all ages. The atmosphere was lively with music playing throughout, and there were plenty of fast food options around which made grabbing a bite easy. Only downside was that a few slides had noticeable panel joins, which were a bit rough on the back. Probably nothing a swim top wouldn’t fix though.

We had a great day out here whilst on holiday we've seen this water park a few times after going past on a boat trip. It cost us €12 each and under 10s €5 and it was the best money we spent. There's lots to do, we didnt have to queue for anything, loads of sunbeds to choose from which you dont have to pay for you only have to pay if you want a cushion for the lounger which were €3 and an umbrella €4. The cafe was very reasonable 5 of us ate there and all had a drink for less than €50. You can also leave and re-enter if needed. Compared to the other water park on the island this one is well worth the money we spent 5 hours there and the kids were not bored and could've easily stayed longer. We did purchase tickets on the website the day before there were no English option but I just used Google translate to see what info was needed to book and managed ok.

Outdoor Activities
Anfi Tauro Golf is a stunning 18-hole course located just outside Puerto Rico, offering picturesque views of volcanic mountains and lakes. The course is known for its well-maintained grounds and challenging layout. Francisco de Bethencourt, the manager, has extensive experience in the golf industry and has been involved in various golf clubs across different islands.
Read about this golf course on google! Was staying in the Gloria Palace Amadores which is 5 minutes away by taxi. Called in on Wednesday and booked a round at the twilight rate for 3 pm the next day. Turned up next day and paid 124 euros. For that you can play the full 18 holes more if you like, a set of top of the range Taylormade clubs aprox value 1,500 euros and hire of a buggy! The course was in terrific condition and the view from the fourth tee in particular was stunning! It’s an Arizona type course with dry shrub areas and gulleys so unless your a single figure player bring at least 10 balls! The fourth, the index 1 hole and the 14 th were the standout holes for me! My wife was with me and we had booked the restaurant at what is a timeshare hotel. No problem dining at 6 pm even though I’d booked for 7/30 pm. The restaurant like the course was not busy and we had a lovely chateaubriand steak served and sliced at the table by Mohamed! Nice touch was the little gas heater to either keep your remaining steak warm or cook it to suit. A fantastic day, the highlight of my holiday. Only two things, there was no one at the buggy, club stand so had to wait but went back to the pro shop and a radio call sorted that. The other is the driving range and par three course can’t be reached by buggy, their rules, if you have a hire car no problem. Went back the next day and really enjoyed both. My first but not my last visit to Anfi Touro golf. Enjoy!
Shaun M — Google review
Absolutely stunning. My husband and his friend spent a morning at Anfi Tauro Golf and it was everything you’d want from a top-tier golf experience: a flawless course, welcoming staff, and that unbeatable Canarian climate that makes you want to stay out all day. From the very first hole, you’re immersed in a landscape that feels almost surreal — peaceful, silent, surrounded by nature and warm tones of the rocky hills. No rush, no stress — just pure focus and pleasure. The course is immaculately maintained, every detail carefully curated. The staff? Friendly, helpful, and professional. You immediately feel like you're in good hands, even if it’s your first time playing here. It’s one of those places where you lose track of time — not because you're rushing through holes, but because you're genuinely lost in the experience. A must for anyone who plays, or just wants to treat themselves to a peaceful, luxurious golf morning. We’ll be back for sure.
Melania R — Google review
Anfi Tauro is a fabulous route. Played off yellows today. Some were as far back as white tees. It's a great challenge and has plenty of risk and reward holes. All the par 5s are reachable in 2 with a good drive. Lots of holes where the water can make a meaningful difference depending on hole locations. The 6th is a lovely par 3 playing back to sea. It's one of the highest points on the course. Massive green, so it's not hard to hit with a long iron. Beware of 3 putting as it's got some deceptive breaks.
Nick D — Google review
Fantastic golf course spectacular scenery, greens had recently been spiked but that didn’t spoil the round highly recommend

Absolutely loved Anfi Tauro Golf ,,, fantastic course, really stunning yet fair and enjoyable,, a good strong course in great condition,, a great welcome and service from both the pro shop and caddie master , they couldn’t be more helpful ,, course was quiet as low season so it was a magical evening spent,, you need a buggy though but then the course wouldn’t be what it is without the elevation changes,, highly recommend

Haven't played it yet but it looked amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful
Martin P — Google review
Beautiful course! Quite challenging (for me!) but lovely course! As with other courses we played in Gran Canaria, in excellent condition! Only thing I would say is that buggy should be included in the price as course would be very difficult to walk.
Jan — Google review
Great course and facilities, greens where so quick and true and the par 3,s from the white tees are a true test at over 200 yards.only down side is the driving range is around a 15 min walk from the reception. Couldn't take the buggie which I found strange as the 1st tee is right by the range.Didnt get to play par 3 course but it looked as good as the main course.Hotel area was really nice and so was the food.Club hire is only 40 euros but I think I'd take my own next time as they couldn't match flex or brand I had at the time. Will be playing it again when out next year,August a good time to play if you don't mind the heat as it is there quiet period but do also do maintenance

Really great experience! the staff is friendly and the playing fjeld is no less than amazing! Local experienced players are very friendly. will be going Again today for the second time on our weeks vaication! Visited with two teenagers. I played in shorts and T-shirt because of the heat - worked out ok, but was very visible in the red vest. If you dont want to stand out to much in the coloured vest, rent a uniform for 5€.

This review is from the perspective of a tourist visiting with their airsoft daft 13 year old and only having access to the hire equipment. Lots of pros, but a few cons that spoiled the experience a little. Pros : friendly staff, fantastic selection of equipment to buy, superb playing arena, great facilities for those just wanting to watch, good face and eye protection equipment provided, friendly local players Cons : as a tourist it felt like being cannon fodder to the locals who are able to bring their own equipment. You’re given a bright coloured vest (see photos) and stand out like a sore thumb. Locals in camoflage gear (see photos) have tiny coloured ribbons on their arm which from a distance make it very hard to work out which team they’re on. Some also have comms gear. When shooting you’re supposed to show yourself, but we were hit numerous times by a “sniper” who certainly did not show themselves when shooting. So as a tourist it doesn’t feel like a fair fight, and we’re charged more for the privilege (the same doesn’t happen in our country and all guests charged equally). We went twice during our two week holiday and on the whole enjoyed the experience. Unsure if we’ll go back next year unless they sort out the issue I (and others) have with the bright coloured vests.

Pretty fun but more of a paintball like experience then airsoft. Because of masks you cant really aim. @owners put high mount red dots on guns or something, you could even rent red dots. Would go again.

Went here with my son (12) while on holidays in Taurito. Neither of us had played airsoft before. From the very beginning, staff were friendly, helpful and welcomed questions. We played for 2.5 hours and were bucketing sweat but would have stayed longer if we could. Staff even went above and beyond to make sure we got the right bus back. Other users, mostly Spanish speakers were also encouraging and helpful. Can't recommend highly enough.

Very entertaining amd unique place on the island. It is easy to access, next to the highway. Great fun, even for youngsters, since the protection equipment is provided there. It was my first visit today and definitely not the last one. Just to mention that today (probably all weekdays), it was open from 15:00h.

Ramin T — Google review
So much fun!! 20€ for a number of balls that i dont remember but lasted all afternoon (4~730pm). The uniforms were clean and big sized (too big for me). Guns a bit heavy for kids or small sized people, but not horrible. If your party isn't big, there are usually other players around you can play together (against each other or mixed up). Service was nice, installations new and clean, lots of toilets and also 2 showers (per gender, id assume). There is plenty of parking and a karting right next door. The battlefield is really nice, tons of hideouts including huts, tunnels, holes... Only negative is that it's hard to play with the mask (which is there for security reasons) because you can't really wear glasses underneath and also they get blurry after some time).

Puerto de Mogán Lookout offers stunning panoramic views of the picturesque fishing harbor, marina, and old village of Playa de Mogan in Gran Canaria. The recently refurbished viewpoint is accessed via a short but slightly challenging hiking trail with 262 steps. Despite the uneven steps, the walk is shaded and manageable for most visitors. The lookout provides a peaceful escape from the bustling town below and is particularly recommended during sunset for a majestic view.
Puerto de Mogán is an absolutely charming place to visit! Often referred to as the “Venice of the Canaries,” this picturesque town boasts a serene canal lined with quaint pubs and cafes, offering a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view. The beach is another highlight — it’s clean, family-friendly, and ideal for swimming, with calm waters that aren’t too deep. Perfect for both kids and adults. The area is filled with shops offering a variety of goods, from souvenirs to local crafts, and the people here are incredibly welcoming and friendly, adding to the warm atmosphere of the town. Whether you’re looking to unwind by the water, explore the shops, or simply soak up the unique charm of the canals, Puerto de Mogán is a must-visit destination. Highly recommended!

Easy to access, views are absolutely worth the short climb. The neighborhood is also really beautiful, with an arsty building in the middle of the climb. In the lookout there are plenty of space to sit down and relax, it's also clear that the area is well maintained.

Def worth a climb to the top. We took champagne as was celebrating a bday and sat up there for a while taking in the views. Peaceful and pretty. Amazing houses are on the way up, really interesting.

You have to walk up quite a few stairs in a not so touristic area to reach this view point. I wish there were a few more signs. The view was nice.

Make sure to stretch the knees as you'll have quite a few steps uphill to reach the Mirador de playa de Mogan. I felt like going through a maze and actually managed to get lost on some of stairs that all look the same. Once you get to the top you have a nice view over the old town and obviously the beach. However don't waste too much time at the top as all the fun is down there!

Great place to take a view of the Mogan beach, Puerto de Mogan and surrounding area! About 20 min walk from the port, in the iconic old and narrow streets of the old town! Something to avoid though in the middle of the day when the sun is very powerful! But definitely worth to take the walk to this point, as the view is jaw dropping!

Playa de las Alcaraveneras, a centrally located city beach in Gran Canaria, is well-known for sunbathing and engaging in various sand sports and recreational activities. It is situated near Playa de las Canteras but sees fewer visitors. While nearby surfers and snorkelers gravitate towards the waves and reefs, this spot appeals more to sailing and canoeing enthusiasts.

3 stars is being polite. Garbage strewn, poorly maintained infrastructure, with the worst part being well made repairs sitting beside areas completely not addressed. It just demonstrates the city happy with patch jobs instead of a proper repair and rethink. Washrooms are at least available however they are not inviting. Water quality is always horrible with visible notes of boats poo discharge in places when the tide is flat. 3 stars as they do make an effort, especially to include sports venues. More work is needed to find housing options for the many many rough campers and sleepers that frequent here. More and better washroom and shower / locker facilities needed. Public water fountains and emplaced shaded areas both for the general public and the handicapped and elderly should be here. Access to beach areas and facilities is severely limited to those with times two working legs. Full time 24hr lifeguards, washrooms presence should be here including at 3 points start middle and end of the beach area. This would be jobs for citizens and help for those attracted to the area for rough sleeping to access common basic facilities late at night. Consideration should be given to have dignified city tents & an alternative sight and transport for rough sleepers. Not the tractor and water cannon to wash the sidewalks each evening to drive people away at the earliest hours. Do better Las Palmas - point to note - do better Las Palmas including enforcement of illegal parking and street paint etc. Perhaps if you employed people to do these jobs you would have the money, safety and balanced enforcement in the city. Don't forget Engineering - patch jobs are better then no jobs but seriously was it too difficult to have the same construction crew that remade the bike path not continue to work on painting and washrooms construction etc?

10000% worth it. The park is absolutely stunning with beautiful cacti everywhere. The staff was also really friendly and it's a pretty big place. The only tip I could give this place is to maybe put the names of the plant species a bit closer and clearer to the plant they're supposed to show, since it was often quite hard to figure out which plant was Which. Other than that, definitely worth a visit!

I am so glad we stopped by here! Plenty of parking, easy to find and not busy at all at midday. It doesnt look like much when youre first entering and walking around the building part which looks like a lot of empty spaces and bars, but then you walk outside and theres a cacti jungle! Not the greatest variety but such a lush and abundant collection. The space is huge and you can walk around the place for a long time to see everything. There's also free roaming peacocks, chickens and a donkey. Remember to use sunscreen cause there is alot of walking in the sun. All in all, one of the prettiest and biggest cactus gardens we've been to.

Geologic Formations
Los Azulejos De Veneguera, also known as Rainbow Rocks, is a must-visit spot in Gran Canaria. The route to this geological wonder starts near a juice stand where you can grab a refreshing drink before heading out. While the cafeteria may have limited hours, there are tables and seating areas to enjoy your beverage with stunning views. The colorful rock formations make for an amazing photo opportunity from various angles.
Another great place to visit. There's a hiking trail to the top of the hill but it's better if you do it with a experience guide as it's not an official trail. Lovely views and you can clearly see the colours of the different types of rocks there. Free access. There is some parking around but sometimes you will have to park on the side of the road if busy. No toilets available.
Ivo M — Google review
You will be amazed by the different colors of soft rock. If you look carefully, you will find hiking trails in this area, but even a short climb is breathtaking. You may encounter yellow, orange, purple, and green rocks. The great thing is that there is also a bus service here in the mountains, so if you don't have a car, you can take the bus from the village of Playa de Mogan to the colored rocks.
W. V — Google review
You can park at the shop and walk backwards by the side of the road. There isnt that much traffic that you couldnt get a picture from any angle you wanted. There were some people climbing the rocks, but we saw no point in doing that. Much better to walk a bit further out for better view and appreciate this colorful and amazing rock formation.
Spela K — Google review
Los Azulejos de Veneguera is one of those unexpected roadside stops that’s worth your time. The rock formations are naturally coloured by minerals, creating vivid layers of green, blue, yellow, and pink. It looks almost artificia, like the cliffs were painted by hand—but it's all natural geology. You’ll find it along the GC-200 between Mogán and La Aldea. There’s a small parking area and a bar across the road where you can grab a drink or bite to eat. You don’t need to hike, just step out, take in the view, and snap a few photos. It’s not a major attraction with facilities or signage, but that’s part of the charm. A short, visual stop that breaks up the drive nicely and gives you a sense of the island’s volcanic diversity. If you’re already heading this way, definitely pull over.
Patrik K — Google review
Easy drive to get up there, it's worth the view! There is place for about 10 cars to park next to the road and it's not so busy.

Definitely worth a looksee.. We arrived late afternoon and the lighting was probably too bright... But it is really interesting to see the different colours.
Lynsey P — Google review
A very beautiful natural phenomenon that you definitely should see when you're on Gran Canaria. The colours will pop out even more after soms rain but even without it's definitely worth your while. A tip for people that can get car sick: It's a long and winding road, so please keep that in mind when you're going by car.

It's a place with a breathtaking view, I recommend coming here at sunset to combine the incredible view with the colors of the sunset. It's a relatively small space, and if there are a lot of people, you might have to wait a bit before taking a photo, but it's worth it! We were even lucky enough to see Teide in the background!

This is one of the best Miradors in Gran Canaria. Even though the road leading here is a little long and the last miles are not that great it's 100% worth it! Make sure you visit on a weekday because at the top there's a very small parking lot (10-12 cars) tops and most time it will be full of rentals. But my god what a view! Outdoor Activities
El Hombre beach, although lacking public facilities such as toilets, drinking fountains, and shade, is a lovely and clean location with limited wheelchair accessibility. It offers only one shower and lifeguards are not consistently present. The beach provides great surfing opportunities for those who possess the necessary ability, mobility, skill, and equipment. Furthermore, the entire area boasts a beautiful walkway. The beach features stunning dark sand that is incredibly soft to the touch.
The beach is equiped with a shower at the entrance. There is sand, which is clean, fine and dark. Waves and currents were pretty atrong when we were there. Waves were used by surfers, but shallow parts can be used also for jumping and splashing in the waves, just be carefull about those currents. Place is also well suited for taking pictures with romantic background.

Beautiful beach with dark and very soft sand! Quite dangerous for swimming but good for some surfing and perfect to relax, some yoga and take some photos. The water temperature is very pleasant

A beach of the rare kind. Volcano sand, soft and different from other parts of Europe. Sertainly worth a visit. Good place if having small children. Off course; the ocean is a dangerous place to encounter if not able to swim 😉. Sometimes the conditions for surfing is nice. Have a lovely time and take good care 💚

Mirador El Mulato is a stunning vantage point with spectacular views down the valley towards the sea and up the mountains. The road leading to it passes by a picturesque windmill in the village of El Molino de Viento and winds through beautiful serpentine routes, featuring challenging steep inclines and narrow sections. The viewpoint offers a dreamy panorama through Barranco, overlooking the mountain village of Mogan and extending all the way to the coast.
What a stunning location with beautiful views down the valley with the sea in the distance and up the mountains. Plenty of parking. Perfect stop for a rest along the winding road as its near the top. Ideal if you have your picnic and chairs to relax and soak in the sun and scenery

Great viewpoint! Came here at night to capture an incredible night sky! Couldn't believe how much you could see. The roads from Mogán were a bit sketchy although very well maintained

Nice place to see the stars. You can go there in case you stay in Puerte de Mogan. Best at clear sky and new moon.

Lee H — Google review
Beautiful view. But to come there...terrible. it takes a lot of time to do the road bends and there are places where are no crash barriers, we saw aloso wooden crash barriers. The road is small, not easy to pass oncoming cars. You sometimes can't see who is coming, you need to honk. We went from mogan to this point in one hour, we wanted to go to roque nublo.(heard also if you park your car there, you have to do a 30 min walk to come to the rock) We were at mirador and ask people how far it was, they said from there still 1 hour to drive with a lot of road bends, so we decide to go back. But if you like to drive this kind of ways, just do it. Don't forget something to drink it is really warm up there. Enjoy the view.

Playa del Cura is a small, rustic beach located near restaurants and hotels. It offers a low-key atmosphere and is a great spot to relax. The area around Playa del Cura is known for its beautiful views and fantastic apartments available for rent. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with easy access to the beach, Playa del Cura could be the perfect destination for you.
A cosy resort that doesn't feel crowded. Several pools and situated practically on the beach. The rooms are clean and up to date. Friendly and helpful staff. Food as expected at a family resort. Situated 30 minutes from the airport, 5 minutes from Puerto Rico and 15 minutes from Mogan. To Las Palmas it takes about an hour depending on what type of transport you choose.
Christian S — Google review
Little beach, black sand sunbeds no toilets or anywhere to buy water or a drink. Go along to Tauro o r Amadores and this beach should get some services in place.
Maria M — Google review
Beautiful little resort. Much smaller and intimate than the likes of Puerto Rico or Las Palomas, there is a small commercial centre with 4 or 5 restaurants, a couple of bars and a convenience store. There is a coarse sand beach good for bathing. Excellent bus service to Playa de Mogan in one direction (around 15 -20 mins) and Puerto Rico (10 mins) and beyond in the other if you fancy somewhere busier for the night. Amadores beach is walkable in about 15 minutes around the coast via Playa de Tauro. Town centre is flat buy many of the hotels and apartments are perched on steep hillsides like many resorts on the island. Recommended for a more chilled out holiday.
Stuart M — Google review
More quiet and calm. Not so touristic therefore not really shops or toilets or beach facilities available.

Small village with a few restaurants and one SPAR- shoppingmall. The sea nearby a few hotels. Other hotels locate more uphill. Nice & peaceful place. With the local bus, you may visit the nearby villages as Amadores, Puerto rico or Puerto de Mogan.

The Angry Birds Activity Park in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria is a thrilling amusement park inspired by the popular mobile game. It offers a playful experience with zip lines, climbing walls, bouncy castles, and a laser maze. The park caters to families and adventure seekers alike, providing an adrenaline-fueled escape with activities like miniature golf, interactive football wall, scooter ramp, and foam parties for the whole family to enjoy.
Really pleasantly surprised by this place. Went there with a 7 & 11 year old. Easily spent 5 hours ther, with loads to keep them both happy. They loved the splash pad, foam party, ball shooters & the go-carts were brilliant (even for me!) Reasonably priced food & drink options ☕🧃🍔 All in all, a really fun day out for all!
Matthew J — Google review
A lovely attraction. My kids aged 6 and 8 really enjoyed it and we stayed all day. They enjoyed the foam party… twice! They especially loved the splash water area, the bikes, zip lines and the parkour area. My 6-year-old made some friends and was playing with them independently. The mini golf course was quite difficult & tired/ worn in places. I was surprised by the cost and quality in the restaurant because food in these kind of places is usually expensive and rubbish. I had a lovely goats’ cheese salad and my son said it’s the best pizza that he’s ever had! The staff were all lovely and friendly. Fun activities going on for the kids throughout the day. I would just say although kids were very happy, it may be boring for the adults unless you are getting involved with your kids. Bring a book. 🙃 We drove there in our hire car. We parked on the road. Make sure to use the meters to pay for parking for the day. Located in a lovely area. We spent a few hours on the beach afterwards.
Laura W — Google review
We had a great day here, despite me thinking it wasn't going to be worth the money. We spent around 4 or 5 hours here. Lots to do for the kids including go carts, scooters, trampolining, climbing frames, water zone , foam party, treasure hunt, air bag drop, and more. There is a mini golf course too, but it could do with a revamp. Still, it's all included in the price. The food on site was ok. The staff were very good and focused on the kids fun. There's a shop on site too selling merchandise.
Michael H — Google review
We had a fantastic time at the Angry Birds Activity Park in Gran Canaria. The park wasn’t crowded at all, which made the experience even better. It’s not huge, but it’s packed with activities: a Sutu ball wall, climbing areas, bag jump, parkour space, scooter ramp, pedal cars, and mini golf. The compact size was a big plus. I could let my 5 and 8-year olds explore the area freely without worrying, which was such a relief after chasing them around in other parks for the past month. They LOVED the foam party, and the afternoon treasure hunt was a big highlight. When the heat kicked in, the splash zone was perfect for cooling off. The bar was decent, with fair prices and even some healthier options like a goat cheese salad, not just fried food. We ended up staying for six hours, and the €50-something we paid for entry was absolutely worth it. Highly recommended for families with active kids.
Pia-Johanna N — Google review
This review starts with my 4-year-old’s thoughts — his favourite part was the mini golf! He also said the foam party was the other best thing — and to be fair, it did look great fun with all the bubbles and music for the kids. Adult review: He didn’t go on the climbing frame as he doesn’t like heights, but it looked like good fun — lots of kids were really enjoying it. You do have to pay extra for the 10D cinema (€2 for about 3–4 minutes). It was okay, but honestly, I think it should be included in the main price. The mini golf was only 9 holes and not the best quality, but still enjoyable for little ones. The splash park was fine for what it was, and the other facilities were what you’d expect — football/basketball court, climbing frame (no harness, just free climbing). I gave it a go myself, got to the top, and it actually felt quite high, so I climbed back down! There were a few other bits that kids absolutely loved, so overall, it was a great day for him. From an adult’s perspective — it’s definitely a place made for kids, and you’ll see the usual mums and dads looking a bit exhausted just trying to make it through the day, haha!
Mark S — Google review
Kids absolutely loved this place! It’s small as far as theme parks go, but it’s great if you want to entertain the kids for a few hours. I would say definitely for younger kids, under 10. If you’re looking for entertainment for teens this probably isn’t the best place. Food on site was really nice & fairly priced. We had a nice day out 😎
Filip C — Google review
BEST AMUSEMENT PARK EVER!!! For my high energy, sport inclined son this place is perfect. Lots of physical activity that is also developing skills, the biking cart track, the scooter ramp, the gymnastics course, the mini. golf, we could do each of these activities individually for hours and we can come here and jump from activity to activity as long as his attention span allows and come back later. The staff is stellar. Every single person had not only a huge smile, and positive attitude, but took great care of us at every attraction. Special call out to Samba, Tamara, and Jaiza. and how could I forget the foam party. Took me back to my 20's and it was beautiful to see the next generation preparing for their future club days. oooch oooch oooch ooch🎶

Anfi Del Mar is situated in a tranquil area between Puerto Rico and Arguineguin, offering easy access to the black sand beach and the Anfi marina. Nearby attractions include the charming old fishing village of Arguineguin, where visitors can savor fresh seafood at local restaurants or take a tourist ferry to explore other ports. The hotel provides luxurious air-conditioned accommodations with stunning pool views and private balconies.
We are Anfi Vacation Club members, so we stay for a week every spring or summer. The design of the resort is sympathetic to the surrounding landscape, giving it a beautifully natural feel. There are 4 distinct complexes in the resort, each with a slightly different character. All are accessible to guests. We have small children and the mini-club is very well staffed with fun activities throughout the day and every day - including the disco party at 7pm by the sea front every night (30 mins of dancing an fun for kids with one of the 2 Anfi mascots). The staff are all friendly and helpful. We love coming for our annual visit.

This is a really beautiful park with a large pond, toilet facilities, a music cafe bar, children's play area, and an amphitheatre. There is parking nearby and holiday world is just across the street. Great for doing any sort of cardio running training while on holiday. Used to be very dark down one side but they have now added lights on sensors which is a massive help
Joanne F — Google review
Nice park with green lawn, relatively clean installations. The pond has birds fishes and toads, there is a cafeteria to take a drink or grab some food, quite nice. They may need to get more oxygen into the pond though, as the green algae starting to grow a bit too much, won't happen as much if there is sufficient water turnaround, meaning more fresh oxygen in the water. But it's still clean enough and quite nice. They're a picnic area and they're are public toilets too (I didn't enter those, so no comment about their state)
Martin S — Google review
Good green zone. Playground is very old and some places lost a rubber base, which cover a concrete. I saw a moment when boy fall down on his back and probably have broken a coccyx. Getting stars off because of security reasons.

Barranco de Las Vacas, also known as Barranco de Barafonso, is a stunning trail that begins at the Temisas bus stop and takes you through the Camino Real to explore its wonders. The trail ends in Aguimes, where you can relax and enjoy a refreshing drink. Just a short drive from Aguimes lies the Las Vacas ravine, home to unique rock formations called Tobas de Colores, formed by historical volcanic activity.
Bit hard to find the entrance (twss). The short hike to the location (10 min) is nice and doable. The canyon itself was great with nice places to take cute pics. Not wheelchair friendly.
Saile J — Google review
Very short (100 m) picturesque gorge. Not sure if it was worth the 45 min scooter ride (each way... 🤔
Peter T — Google review
Interesting gorge, probably about 100 metres long, with wonderful rock formations. To get here, park on the side of the road at the top of the hill, and walk down to the valley. On the right-hand side of the road, climb over the traffic barrier, carefully descend down to the man-made archway. Walk through the archway, and you'll be in the gorge.
Paul H — Google review
The place itself is beautiful. BUT what cannot be photographed are the annoying groups of insta-posers and the constant very bad smell of ... you know what ... years ago it must have been a more pleasant experience.
David K — Google review
Barranco de las Vacas is a unique natural rock formation that’s absolutely worth seeing. Despite some graffiti on the bridge above, it’s not yet overly touristy — there are no shops, cafés, or even official parking available. Some cars park on a small patch of empty land just before the site, while others leave their car along the roadside further up the hill. To get there, you’ll need to climb over the guardrail and walk down a short path into the ravine. Once you're down and start walking through the narrow canyon, you’ll find yourself in a stunning and photogenic location — perfect for taking beautiful pictures. A hidden gem and definitely worth a visit if you're nearby!
Kristof V — Google review
Beautiful spot to check out when you’re in the neighborhood. Parking can be done a little up the road. The shortest path to the entry is on the stone bridge. A clear path (quite steep) is visible. The whole thing is not that big, so if it’s busy you’re mainly waiting for a turn to sit on the rock for pictures.
Robin K — Google review
Amazing rock formations, definately try go out of peak hours however the photography is best at 12pm. It is very small and makes for a quick visit you could probably spend 30- 40 mins there before getting moving on. We bussed from las palmas to Aguimes and made the mistake of walking from there in the swealtering heat (4km walk from town ) great views but definately dont reccomend doing that. Rent a car and make it a quick stop for the day theres alot of otger things to see on the island.

Roque Nublo, located in the municipality of Tejeda, is a remarkable 67-meter tall volcanic crag that stands at an elevation of 1,813 meters above sea level. It is considered one of the largest natural crags globally and was declared a national park in 1987. The area offers various trails for hiking, with options ranging from a short 1.
Magnificent walk through the forest hills to get to the top. Approximately 30 min walk filled with endless beautiful panoramic views. So glad we did it. Definitely recommend it.
Karol P — Google review
A wonderful place and fantastic views and panoramas. The road to the top is also amazing and enchanting with its beauty. The only big minus is the lack of parking spaces. This complicates the excursion and leads to stressful situations. If you want to park your car near the parking lot near the cliff, I recommend you arrive early in the morning.
Natalia U — Google review
We took a hike from the parking to the Roque Nublo (around 5 km hike). The route was quite good and well marked. Remember to reserve the time slot (it is free of a charge) as they are checking this before the entrance. There is also no parking anymore nearby the roque, so You need to take the bus ( it is driving couple of times per day) or a hike. We took the bus in our way back to the parking, it is 1 stop (around 10 minutes, costs 1,4€). We liked the place, You can go around the rock and seat nearby to rest or eat something, there is a little bit of shade as well.
Otishone — Google review
Nice place. Sadly, weren’t directly at the Roque Nublo, because we didn’t know you have to book your time frame in advance. BE AWARE OF THIS! I think it’s not well known yet. The parking palaces were closed on Sunday, so it was very difficult to find a place to park next to the road. You can do a nice walk in the surroundings as well, and you can see the Roque Nublo from there.
Annamária M — Google review
If you don't have a car, you can use the bus number 18 if you're are traveling from Playa de Ingles area. The buses don't run often and the route there with the bus is not the best. We had prebooked our trail time but arrived 1 hour and 30 minutes early, and thankfully they let us enter 1 hour earlier. There is absolutely nothing around there which I would have thought there would be a coffee shop or a Souvenir store but there is only a small van selling a few local things and that's it. So if you'll have to wait for your time time good luck with that 😆 The hike itself is not too hard. It's moderate level due to some steep climbing if you go all the way to the top. It took us about an hour to climb up (with a few stops for pictures) and 30 minutes to go down. Bring lots of water and if you're not in a rush you can sit down and enjoy the view with a few snacks. The climb is worth it, the views are amazing!! 😍😍 Overall, it's a once in a lifetime check point and even though i hated the bus journey it was worth it.
Monica I — Google review
Beautiful spot, BUT you need to visit official website in advance. Of course you can't access the spot if there's a risk of wildfire. So read instructions carefully and follow them. There're nice picnic area next to the spot (maybe 1 kilometre away)
Angela O — Google review
Beautiful scenery, and also recommended to visit the beautiful sunset from Roque Nublo. After the sun has gone down, and the sky is clear, and the moon not too bright, you can see the milky way! And the amount of stars is crazy. Most of the light pollution from the ground is blocked by the clouds, creating a truely unique sight. It is a bit chilly, make sure to bring warm clothes and nice foods
Pascal — Google review
They say you need a reservation for a specific time if you enter through the main Mirador de la Goleta entrance. I didn’t know that because I came in through the forest from the Aparcamiento Cruz de Juan Pérez parking lot — marked “SOLO VEHÍCULOS AUTORIZADOS” (authorized vehicles only). I parked on the roadside where there were dozens of cars, even though there were yellow lines. The hike up took me about 45 minutes, and coming down was around 25. The views are beautiful, and from there you can even see the nearby island of Tenerife. If you enjoy easy hikes, this one is really for everyone — it’s not difficult at all.

Nice beach. Nice chairs to sit. We did have clouds in Las Palmas, while there was a lot of sun here. Parking is possible. Swimming is nice and the slope slow. You can walk forever in the sea (compared to the Dutch beaches).

Nice beach with restaurants and shops. Not realy for fans of white sand and quiet beach. Quite windy and dark sand makes it not as great for kids but great waves makes it realy fun 😁
Rafal O — Google review
Nice beach in San Agustin right on the promenade. Not many choices for sand beaches on Gran Canaria. Sand is dark with a fine powder that the wind will carry when it gets windy. Parasols and loungers for rent. Rate was 9,50 Euro in February 2025, which is really fair compared to, for example, Mallorca. Attendant will put up sand barrier on windy days to help with blowing sand. Water is clear with sandy bottom. Surf school sometimes here for beginners. Very convenient to the resort we stayed (Corallium Beach).
Matt B — Google review
Very windy, water quality wasn't the best. Lots of steep steps to access from the North approach that are not in the best shape. A few funky swear smells along the walkway and again from time to time when on the beach. Nice outdoor shower area at the end of the wooden walkway however it is not very private feeling as the cafe just across seats people like the showers are a theatre. No visible signage indicating where to find public toilets nearby which may explain the so e of the smells.

Nice beach, reasonably quiet early mornings in October. Some larger waves to west side of beach where there are 1 or 2 surfers. Not crowded, free parking directly behind beach with shade for cars from trees.
Mark W — Google review
Would definitely come back here better side of Maspalomas!!!!

Good beach. I like catching waves :)

It has hot and black sand with calm tepid water and small waves. It's natural to have women practicing topless so that's an if that's an issue for you don't go there.

Nature preserve
Caldera de Los Marteles is a nature park located in a volcanic landscape, offering numerous hiking trails and breathtaking panoramic views. The caldera itself was formed less than 1 million years ago by a volcanic eruption that resulted in an 80-meter deep and 550-meter wide cauldron. At the bottom of the caldera, visitors can observe geometrically landscaped fields once used for agriculture and livestock farming.
Whether you're interested in geology, photography, or simply enjoying the tranquility of nature, Caldera de Los Marteles offers a peaceful retreat with breathtaking landscapes.

Just stopped because the beautiful panaroma caught my attention Stunning view, fresh air, on the other side of the road you can see Las Palmas in the distance. It was very peaceful and quiet.
Zoltan R — Google review
Recommended. Nice parking spot with view and a hiking trail intersecting with it. Don't expect facilities like toilets, although there was a stand set up selling drinks and regional foods.
Yoran H — Google review
What we see happened almost a million years ago when lava came into contact with underground water. I think that traveling around islands with volcanic monuments is an adventure worth continuing throughout your life.

If there is for, wait 15 minutes, Go down to the caldera it is a short way but the flora is worth to Go there

Find this spot randomly. The view was stunning, watching the clouds passing in the valley where everything was blooming was fascinating

Open air museum
Cueva de Cuatro Puertas is an extensive cave complex created by early Canarians, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the sea. The site features a series of interconnected caves on a hill, forming a fascinating cave town. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking vistas, including a beautiful view of Gran Canaria airport where planes land and depart. Despite its remarkable history and unique flora, this hidden gem sees relatively few tourists, providing an opportunity for a peaceful exploration.
Amazing sight. A little walk up from where cars are parked but definitely worth it. It is such a lovely sight.
Flóra M — Google review
Unique piece of canarian history. Worth a visit. The gate may seem closed but you can just push it open. Ways are sometimes a bit hidden but if you figure it out there is a lot to explore and learn. Parking was easy as not many people were there.
Ash K — Google review
we were told by a local person that there were some big caves and they can be visited, the local said that this is a holy place for the local people, it is easy to get to and make sure you wear sturdy shoes because you have to climb some rocks, but it is easy to do
Wesley W — Google review
Theres a couple of parking spaces at the end of the road and then you walk a couple of minutes uphill to reach the entrace. The place is fenced and marked as an archeological site with some information posts. Cuatro puertas is reached withing two minutes, but only requires a couple of minutes to visit. There's a circular route to also reach some other caves but we didnt have time to visit them.
Spela K — Google review
When we been there was only couple of people. Nice area. When you get there you can enjoy nice view
BrigLeeFebz — Google review
It was fantastic standing in the caves and seeing all of them it really was, and the wonderful view and breeze was just a bonus for us. You do have to park at the bottom and walk up a long road which is on a hill with loose rocks and down some rocks, so make sure you wear the right footwear for the trek (but it's worth it). We would 100% recommend. 24th September 2023
Sharon H — Google review
There is a lot more here than meets the eye at first. A very cool archaeological site with both ancient cave homes and ceremonial sites on display. So close to the airport, it's definitely an easy one to either start or end your trip with.
Geoffrey O — Google review
This is one of my favourite sites on this island. I just don’t understand why there are very few tourists. I was basically alone during my visit. Such an incredible place with an interesting story. It is really worth to visit if you have a car. You can park the car at the roadside a few hundred meters down. It is an easy walk, and I love its unique flora, especially different types of cactuses, grown in this region. Don’t be surprised if you see some birds living near the caves.

Playa El Veril is a picturesque beach known for its natural beauty and tranquil ambiance. It stands out with its wild, rocky surroundings, providing a more secluded and less crowded alternative to the larger Playa del Ingles. A coastal walk starting from San Agustin to El Veril offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, passing through notable spots like Punta de Maspalomas and the iconic Maspalomas beach.
Nice beach not so crowded like in Maspalomas. Some times beautiful models posing on a stones
Zydrius — Google review
This beach is much quieter than the English beach area, but consequently not as many facilities apart from a toilet at the north end. We found on our visit that there was far more seaweed being washed in at this section, which also brought with it the seaweed smell - which inevitably got the kids saying it smells!
Andrew C — Google review
A Lovely beach which is more secluded than the main beach and only a short walk away which is worth it. There is a place to wash your feet. The sand is golden, clean and soft. The cove offers a calmer place to swim in the sea. WCs are within 3-5 minutes walking distance.
TS I — Google review
Beautiful beach in a middle of paradise. Maspalomas areas are very popular ,and you will spot many tourists walking along huge promenade which are miles long ! There is plenty pubs ,bars ,restaurants and hotels in area so not a chance to end up hungry or thirsty out there. Water sports are present as well ,so if you are bored ...jump on jet ski and release mayhem on water :P If not fancy extreme sports , just go for a walk and admire blooming flowers which are everywhere in area :)

Barranco de las Vacas, also known as Barranco de Barafonso, is a picturesque ravine in Gran Canaria that has gained popularity on social media. Accessible via a moderate hike from Temisas, this Instagram-famous spot resembles the American desert landscape, reminiscent of Antelope Canyon in Arizona.
Barranco de las Vacas offers a unique experience—this is a canyon carved into the volcanic rock of Gran Canaria. The color of the rocks is similar to that of the Siq in Petra, Jordan. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth the effort, especially for photography. The entrance is not well-marked, so Google Maps or Waze may direct you elsewhere. As a reference point, look for a bridge—the access path is right underneath it. The descent is of medium difficulty and manageable for both adults and children. Since this is an unmarked tourist attraction, it's a good idea to ask other visitors for directions before venturing in, as there are no clear signs. Overall, a hidden gem for nature lovers!"
Cosmin B — Google review
Beautiful cave to visit but its little bit difficult to find a way if you go by car. There is no parking area. If you go by foot you can easily find the spot.
Anu C — Google review
Once you get there it is quite nice. There is no real parking spot so people have to park in the side of the road, it is quite dangerous and the locals also seems anoyed about all the people on the road, also reflected in the Grafitti "Tourist Go Home" The actual location is beautiful. But one could vist that people would clean up after themselves as it is quite messy in some places.
Ronnie P — Google review
This place is quite beautiful and spectacular but it’s hard to reach. Not only do you have to walk along the highway to reach the “steps” which take you down towards the canyon, but the actual descent is quite dangerous as there is a slippery kind of sole. You need proper shoes for this or you might get seriously hurt. I would say that we waisted close to an hour trying to find the way to get to the canyon, since there are no signs anywhere for it and we relied solely on instructions from google reviews. Be careful when including this into your itinerary. I would honestly say that there are better places to see on the island which are also easier to reach and find.
Irina — Google review
Quite easy access from the main road. If you're lucky there's a narrow parking lot next to the path (you have to walk through the metal barriers) but it only fits three cars, otherwise you'll have to park a little bit up the hill and walk down along the road. The canyon itself isn't very long but can be quite beautiful in a good light. Be careful of falling rocks, especially after the rainfalls.
Łukasz W — Google review
If you fear high places, don't go there. Otherwise, it's a beautiful place, but it's not very big. I would say the cave tunnel is about 200 meters long. There is no real parking place, but if you drive past the area, there is a spot about 150 meters up the mountain where you can park around 6-7 cars on the right side. Coordinates are here (27.9123490, -15.4761274)
Filip J — Google review
Worth a visit specially first thing in the morning. The lighting may not be as brilliant when the sun actually hits the walls. Anyway, it’s relatively easy to get to specially if other people around and you can ask for direction! There’s a review here where he exactly pointed out where you should park and where you should start walking. That was really helpful!
Richard Q — Google review
Amazing place!!! Be aware that you need to spot a place on the left where you can park your car. It fits let’s say 4 cars but it’s not an official parking place so you need to slow down to search for it. Otherwise you have any close place to park. Then you need to walk a bit on the road and go down on a path that will lead you to a short tunnel. After this, you can see the canyons which are amazing. Be aware that there are lizards everywhere there.

Llanos de La Pez is a picturesque outdoor recreation area nestled in the mountains of Gran Canaria. It features hiking trails, picnic spots, and campsites surrounded by tall pine groves. The S-51 trail offers a beautiful circular route through Tejeda and San Bartolome de Tirajana municipalities, passing through the Riscos de Tirajana Natural Monument.
We walked route S-51 from here, which is about 10 km and forms a loop. The views along the way were stunning, and you can even included a climb to the top of Roque Nublo (30 min extra one way) A big advantage of starting from this trail is the parking, unlike the crowded parking situation at Roque Nublo itself. The trail is classified as medium, which feels accurate, as there are some decent altitude gains. Overall, a great hike with rewarding scenery!
Bas K — Google review

Beautiful area for walking. Find the right path in May and it is a riot of lovely wild flowers
Rowena M — Google review
We went here, not for a picknick or bbq, which seems like a great place for that! But we went for the short but very steep (unmarked) trail, from Llanos de la Pez to Pico de los Pozos. A trail 1300 meters horizontal, almost 300 meter vertical. Quite the workout, but worth the views! Make sure you don’t stay too long enjoying the sunset because going down the trail after sunset is another challenge.
Paul — Google review
Sound a wonderful peaceful pine forest in the mountains. You can park here and there are tables under the trees to have a meal. Clean toilets nearby. We travelled here early morning and hardly anyone around apart from a family having breakfast. Also great place to hike from to go further up into the mountains to have lunch. We hiked up from here for a couple of hours and didn’t see anyone. Absolutely beautiful part of the country and so different from the beach resorts of Gran Canaria. You can’t be disappointed with some time here.

Lovely walkway along the edge of Maspalomas Sands.
Timbovilla 7 — Google review
Went down to where the main tourist area is, there is a large number of places to eat and drink, most with seating areas overlooking the beach and Southern Atlantic. The selection of food goes from Macdonalds, Chinese food, traditional Spanish/Canarian food to Seafood, there are also the standard touristy souvenir shops in amongst the restaurants. The normal downside of places like this are the persistent street sellers, who will keep approaching you even when told no before.
Andy — Google review
Went down to look at the Southern Atlantic and have lunch. Plenty of places to choose from most with views over the beach and shoreline. One problem is the number of hawkers trying to sell you something and they keep coming back, a shake of the head usually works.
