Bill's Exeter Restaurant offers a diverse dining experience with separate menus for breakfast, afternoon tea, lunch, and dinner. The bottomless brunch is a standout feature, allowing guests to enjoy unlimited food and drinks for a set price. Located conveniently on Gandy Street, the restaurant is easily accessible and can be booked online. While some patrons have expressed concerns about an automatic service charge added to the bill, the overall dining experience is accommodating for various dietary restrictions including vegan, gluten intolerance, and dairy intolerance.
This is a lovely restaurant right in the centre of Exeter, we came for breakfast and didn’t have to book a table as there was plenty of seating inside. Service was very friendly and the food came quickly. The pancakes were absolutely delicious, we also ordered a smoothie which tasted nice but was more of a juice. Other than this, it was a lovely experience and would definitely recommend when in Exeter.

Really nice eatery in town. Staff are very friendly and professional. Well worth a visit. Had lunch again today and the food was really amazing. Cedric, was looking after us and he was great.

Got the bottomless pancakes. They were great, could do with a little more flavours though. Overall great experience, got served by Shaz and she was great. Super helpful with any questions we had and recommended good food items

Great breakfast, grabbed it with a friend, left very pleased with quality of food. Monika served us and did a fantastic job, always tending to us and making sure we are happy. Service alone is a reason i would come back!

I can really recommend it. There is a very seldom combination of very tasty delicious food and extra-polite service. We had burgers, mushroom (instead of duck) curry and the Rib & Ranch plate. Great meal- great evening.

Turtle Bay Exeter is a Caribbean restaurant and bar that offers a lively atmosphere and authentic Caribbean cuisine. The bottomless brunch is a highlight, featuring an array of cocktails including Island Iced Tea and Bahama Mama, as well as an extensive selection of Caribbean rum and Red Stripe Jamaican beer. The restaurant also serves dishes like The Big Kingston Grill Down and Vegan Yard Bird.
We got through 13 delicious cocktails, service was brilliant. They made a mistake and sent our drinks to the wrong table, was rectified straight away and had an apology. Food was also lovely, amazing bottomless brunch.

It was my first time in Exeter and I was beyond excited to be surrounded by such kind, fun, and friendly people. My parents and I absolutely loved our waitress, Alisha she made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. The staff, the food, the whole experience was amazing. I can’t wait to come back in the future! ☺️

Food was really lovely! First time dining in. Enjoyed the food! I would advice to book in advance to save you some seats as it can get busy. Hannah was the one who looked after us. She made sure that we got our orders (food and drinks), doubled checked everything. Plus she is pretty. :)
Chi J — Google review
I'm a big fan of Turtle Bay because there are lots of gluten free options for food (as long as you check on the website, they aren't listed as gluten free on the physical menu) and the staff are always super friendly. Plus delicious two for one cocktails, always a pleasant experience. Have been here a few times and it definitely won't be my last.

Service was super quick and efficient besides how busy it was. We had the same server throughout, which was really nice. Food was delicious! Our waiter Alisha I believe her name was, she was absolutely amazing and really kind! I will definitely be visiting again!

Sam L was fantastic server, brilliant energy, friendly and helpful. The food was fabulous, my daughter loves her seafood soul bowl. All in all we will be back.

Just popped in for a bit of lunch with my son, and was served by Char. The atmosphere was great and all of the team were very friendly, and hardworking. I was a little disappointed that they were out of curry goat, so I had to go for the chicken stew, and I am glad I did. It was really tender and full of flavour. Char was great. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Next time I am in the area, I will be back.

Char gave us the most amazing service, smiley, attentive and so helpful. Being in the industry myself I know how difficult it can be but char made everything a beautiful experience, amazing food and drinks to die for! Cant wait to come back

Cosy Club in Exeter offers an eclectic dining experience with a menu featuring tapas, sandwiches, burgers, and mains. Housed in an old hospital chapel, the space is filled with quirky decor such as oil paintings, taxidermy, and surgical lighting inspired by an operating table. The restaurant boasts a mix of reclaimed furniture and Victorian lampshades alongside original 1960s Concorde hangar lights.
Ordered some takeaway drinks from here. Very quick service and reasonable prices. Located just up from Exeter Law Courts in a listed building that used to be the old hospital. The layout is very interesting with a lot of history on the walls. Even some of the lighting over the bar area is old hospital lighting which is very nice to see recycled and used. Staff are very attentive and welcoming.

Me and my friend visited Exeter for a couple of days. My friend has a pepper allergy and unfortunately twice in a row something went wrong with her meals at our hotel. So on our last evening we decided to go elsewhere. That evening we stepped into ‘The Cosy club’ on 1 Southernhays gardens, hoping three times is indeed a charm. And boy was it! We booked a table for two online which was very easy to do. We were warmly welcomed by Jack, he let us know he read about our allergies and was going to make sure everything went right. Well he sure did! Due to his diligence (and that of the head chef who also went above and beyond) we finally experienced a lovely scrumptious meal without the worry of needing medical assistance :-) He really made our last evening in Exeter an exceptional one. So if you are in Exeter and want a fantastic evening with a lovely meal in a charming atmosphere with friendly staff who understand their profession, please visit ‘The Cosy Club’ in Exeter. You will not regret it! Sharon

Cosy Club, Exeter. Once a hospital, now a restaurant, which is a bit like turning your old school into a cocktail bar. You sit there with a burger and chips where somebody once had their appendix out. The ceilings are high enough to lose a kite in, and every inch of the place is covered in furniture that looks like it was donated by aunts you don’t like. It’s a curated mess, but it sort of works. The staff are absurdly good. Smiling, attentive, as if they’ve mistaken you for someone important. They’ll even let your dog into the lounge, which is a surprise. You look around, half expecting someone to say “No dogs, no smoking, no fun” but instead they bring you water for the mutt and act like it’s the most natural thing in the world. The food is solid in that chain-restaurant way. I went for a burger on our visit. The burger is rib meat, which means flavour, fat, and an excuse for charging you more. They suggest adding Brie and bacon, which isn’t advice so much as an invoice. The fries arrive in a tin that looks generous until you poke around and realise it’s half-air. But the burger stays together, tastes decent, and doesn’t drown you in condiments. But. The meat’s from Cornwall, which is nice, but we’re in Devon. Cows here also have ribs. And the price is the sort of number that makes you start thinking about whether you should have cooked pasta at home. However, you sit there, full of meat and fries, the dog snoring under the table, and you think — this isn’t bad. It’s not great, it won’t change your life, but it’s not bad. Food delivered in a jumble-sale cathedral that used to hand out death certificates. Perfectly fine.

I really liked cosy club, food was amazing I had a three course graduation meal, from starter till dessert I didn't choose as I asked my server to choose for me. It was lovely and I'd reccomend that place again. The only thing I thought could be better was a Lil more conversation with my server, she did her job well but she could have done something to make me feel more welcomed. Nonetheless I'll go there again because it's lovely.
Vedaant M — Google review
OMG the food was so good. I had the prawn starter and it was so good - I didn't know if it would be worth the money but it was actually the perfect amount ready for the main which was also delicious. Oooh and the truffle and parmesan fries perfecccttt. The GF options were nicely varied and labeled well, the server even brought the plates out separately so he didn't accidentally contaminate them. The staff were all smiley and lovely and the decor was a really cool little vibe. A really cute little gem. Also everything was nice and clean - I know it sounds weird but if even the toilets are really up to date with cleanliness you can rely on the rest being well looked after to right?
Phoebe M — Google review
Went here with other and asked for their thoughts on food as well. When we got to the restaurant there is a sign asking you to wait to be seated. We waited in clear sight of the bar and no one came for a number of minutes. When someone did come they made no attempt to engage with us or even so hello. Had to go to them. The staff at the tables seem to the forget us for the food order. When we we asked to order they did apologies. The restaurant is nicely decorated but the number of empty tables and lack of vibrancy came over strongly. By the time we left at about 9pm there was hardly another sole. Food was fine but nothing special. Had a smash burger. It was fine but not special. With onion rings over £20. I went for the salad with it which was £4.50 separately and about three mouth fulls. None of the people who had chips finished them because the were not good. Another person had sea bass and described it as fine only. Another annoyance of mine is putting a service charge on the bill as standard considering we were a table of only 5. Considering the basic costs were on the higher side for only adequate food it suggests the owners are in it for profit first and quality second.
Richard W — Google review
Vibrant atmosphere with a full menu at moderate price. Close to the central Premier Inn and with a full bar and seating area. Good attention to dietary requirements though there could be more vegan options. The chestnut mushroom main was good though quite a lot of sauce.
Richard A — Google review
Wasn't very cosy as the name might suggest - the design of the place fulfilled the cosy vibes but the fact it was cold didn't. Considering it wasn't very busy I felt the staff where quite slow in taking our orders be it for drinks or food. The food itself was decent but anyone ordering the butchers brunch would be saddened to find out the pork chop was a pork slither 😅. Also a vegetarian in our group ordered the American pancakes without the bacon and said they tasted like bacon as if the chefs had put bacon on the top then realised afterwards it shouldn't have any...

With locations in Exeter and Torquay, this diner-style buffet is great value for money and perfect for those nursing Sunday hangovers.
Once in a while this is the perfect brunch spot! They’ve got a full english breakfast and waffles/pancake bar. Loads of topping options however limited food selection. For the price we loved it and would definitely come back another time. Recommend going on the weekdays for more table availability and cheaper price per person.

This spot is a perfect choice for anyone craving a hearty English breakfast buffet. From a generous selection of classic sides to an array of freshly baked breads, waffles, and a variety of flavorful sauces, everything is thoughtfully prepared to satisfy every taste. The warm, inviting atmosphere makes it easy to relax and enjoy a leisurely morning, while the attentive service ensures a delightful experience. A wonderful place to indulge in a classic breakfast feast that feels both comforting and special.

We went there today on the recommend. And weren't disappointed. Greeted by a really helpful front of house who explained everything and then it was time to tuck in. The waffle was fantastic with a fabulous choice of toppings and unlimited ice cream, the breakfast was great. Freshly topped up on the hot plate by a friendly chef, each table had a toaster so you could have as much, whenever you wanted. Coffee and tea and juices were on hand to get a and when and the atmosphere was great. Thoroughly recommend
Joanna A — Google review
Not very often is there a restaurant that gets 5 stars across the board, but this place deserves it. Staff were super friendly and showed us how it all works seeing as it was our first time there. There was a good amount of options too, you had the full English breakfast which you could help yourself too, which included options like eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, beans...all the things you'd traditionally find. They had a DIY toast section where you pick your bread and toast it back at the table. They had a waffle & pancake station which is operated by a member of staff, once it's cooked you can add whatever toppings you want, from sauces, to crumbs and also Mr Whippy ice cream! There isn't loads of tables so aim to get there before the mad rush at lunchtime and the early opening hours. Quality of the food was banging, have as much as you want, go up as many times as you want. Bangin'. *apologies for the half eaten waffle, forgot to take a photo!

Perfect Location. Unlimited full English, pancakes, ice cream !!!👌👌☕️☕️☕️Great atmosphere and the staff are first class.

First time visiting so glad we did! It was busy when we arrived but we were seated quickly there was a lovely selection of cooked breakfast items which you served yourself from. The bacon and sausages were good quality. The only downside i can find is that sadly we didn't leave room for the waffles and icecream they looked and smelt amazing! Will 100% definitely be back! Highly recommend!

Love going to Brody's when we visit Exeter. We always visit at the start of the day. Staff are really friendly and super helpful. Breakfast is fresh and cooked well. Restaurant is clean - very surprising high end looking and very clean bathroom. My favourite is the fried bread - quite uncommon on a breakfast now and the vegetables sausages - I don't eat bacon or sausages so am please their alternative is not that awful fake meat, husband loves the black pudding and the mushrooms and hash browns are the best we've had. Great value at £12.95 for all you can eat food and £3.95 for unlimited drinks - a bargain considering 1 coffee will cost over £3 somewhere else. Only dropped a star as it cost £2 more Friday through Sunday - profiteering in my opinion. However, still great value and highly recommend - have not had a bad visit here and gives us the energy needed to spend the day shopping in Exeter.

Great place to have breakfast at any time of the day. The full English is hearty and well prepared, even down to the crispy bacon. Waffles and pancakes with as much or as little toppings as you like, including ice cream!! Delicious 😋 and definitely place to return to. Live the toasters on the tables, and yes, there is marmalade and honey 🍯. Love this place, and the service with a smile sets you up for a delicious time and indulgence.

Bella Italia in Exeter is brilliant. Have been there about 4 times in the last 12 weeks. Me and my wife travel down a good hour to go there for the food and the customers service. (Iain ) has been there every time we have been there and has delivered brilliant customer service all the time. This man should definitely be in line for a pay rise 🙏🏻Always happy and cheerful and just bring a good positive vibe to the place. The food is out of the world. We have had a different meal each time we have gone in. The standard never dropped. Always on point with the taste and flavours. Speedy service. Probably maximum of 10mins away. This can change when the place is busy like normal

We’re not easy customers and we are well travelled so we tend to judge… But! By not being easy I mean we have dietary requirements (no garlic or onions), we are particular about food (they offer free-range meat - wow, love that so much!) and sometimes we require extra ketchup;). We also came in with a (well-behaved and tired) dog but everything was a breeze!!! Loved the generous space, we were in on Monday so hardly anyone upstairs! It’s refreshing that the tables are not cramped, we do love our space when enjoying our food. And boy was the food to enjoy! One of the best burgers I’ve had, with soft and tasty bun (they get underestimated often) and exceptionally soft meat, very tasty! Loved that sofisticated sauce (no onions;). Chips were generous but I’d say average, but no harm done here:). I really appreciated the well-balanced approach from the staff - very sensitive, no pushy at all, gave us our space, only just making sure we were ok. When we needed anything, they were extra attentive and all with a smile. I did feel well taken care for from food and service to the environment. I wish more of my eating-outs were so gratifying.

Very centrally located, a short distance from Exeter Central Station and the high street. There were already a number of tables occupied even before 9am which was lovely to see. The seating area is upstairs so re accessibility, would recommend calling them to check before going (there was a long bar and 4 high stools downstairs too). Staff were great at explaining what could and couldn’t be modified to coeliac-safe and it was so reassuring that we went back again the following day. Food menu for kids also available.

Very good food and service. I got the salmon, egg and avocado, very fresh. Will not give it 5/5 due to atmosphere as it is cute but nothing extraordinary. 👍

I can’t say enough great things about the staff at BTP, everyone was very helpful and kind. My niece has tree nut allergies and they were all so careful to let us know which menu items she should avoid. The food was amazing! It was my first English breakfast and I am now hooked! The beans and bacon were the highlight. If you go here I hope you have the pleasure of meeting Emily, she really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and even made us a list of where we should try to go while visiting Exeter! 10/10, go here you will not be disappointed

Lovey brunch this morning. First time trying the Sweetcorn Hash and OMG it's to die for. New favourite breakfast I reckon! Thanks Emily for the lovely service too. A fellow enthusiastic appreciator of my meal, she understood the assignment and delivered main character energy 👌🎉 love this place, highly recommend

Ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you something. We go out to cafés and restaurants every day. We sit down, we order, we eat, and we leave. Most of the time, it’s fine — good food, decent service, nothing more, nothing less. But every so often, someone comes along who changes that routine. Someone who takes what could have been an ordinary meal and turns it into something you actually remember. For me, on this day, that someone was Meg. From the very first moment, Meg didn’t just serve. She welcomed. She paid attention. She carried herself with a kindness that felt real — not rehearsed, not mechanical, but heartfelt. Every interaction, every check-in, every word she spoke was filled with the kind of care that makes you feel not like a customer, but like a guest of honor. And that matters. Because it’s easy to overlook the impact of service. But think about it: food will fill your stomach, but people — people like Meg — they lift your spirit. They create moments. They leave you walking out the door with more than just a receipt in your pocket. You leave with the memory of how you were treated, how you felt. And that’s what lasts. Boston Tea Party has good food, yes. A welcoming space, yes. But Meg — Meg is the reason today stood apart. She turned coffee and a meal into something far greater: an experience worth remembering, worth talking about, worth celebrating. So here’s my word to Boston Tea Party: recognize her, appreciate her, because she is the heart that makes the whole place beat brighter. And here’s my word to anyone reading this: if you’re lucky enough to be served by Meg, know this — you’re in for something special.

Mango's cafe & bar is a charming and pet-friendly spot located on the historic quayside of Exeter. Since its establishment in 2016, it has been known for its delightful brunch options such as Eggs Benedict, Chorizo Shakshuka, Smashed Avocado, and Cinnamon Toast. The cafe takes pride in offering a cozy atmosphere where patrons can enjoy picturesque views while savoring their meals.
A beautiful breakfast café with stunning views over The Quay — the perfect place to start your morning. The food is absolutely delicious, but the real star of the show is their scone, which is simply unmissable. Served with their signature cottage cream, it's one of the best scones we've ever tasted rich, fluffy, and uniquely delightful. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. Highly recommended to come early if you want to enjoy the limited outdoor seating and catch the serene waterfront views at their best!

Always an amazing time visiting Mangos ❤️ Service and food is always top notch, dog friendly and plenty of delicious cakes to choose from and coffee is exceptional 😍 Staff are the most friendliest bunch and always work to make our experience enjoyable! Last visit we had the veggie breakfast and eggs on toast with bacon, highly recommend!! 🍳🍰☕️ All day menu including lunch items, always catered to the time of year and fabulous drinks available especially for the summer time ☀️

Been meaning to try out this spot for a while now. Great location by the quay and service was exceptional. We walked in and managed to snag a spot outside in the sun which was perfect. Food was standard and quick. Portions could have been bigger especially for the price. Still tasty and made for a good brunch. Would recommend if you want the full experience by the quay!

Fun Saturday brunch at Mango’s. We booked an outside table and enjoyed the Farmers breakfast and Mexican Eggs Benedikt. Delicious food which arrived quickly with very friendly service. Great view of the Quay in the sun.

A bit hidden away on the side of the quay but definitely a nice place for a light brunch or lunch. The smoothies are great, especially the mango one!

I tried Cappuccino and 3 types of brownies and an apple flapjack, all of which were very tasty. The location is very nice and peaceful. Would definitely recommend for a calm cup of coffee and a sweet treat!

We stumbled across Mango’s when travelling through Exeter, we received a warm welcome and were originally going to sit outside with the dogs, the waitress kindly offered us a table inside as it was potentially due to rain. The food was delicious, the service was faultless and every waitress/waiter on shift that day was attentive and always happy to help. Thanks for such a lovely brunch, we will recommend and definitely return!

Underground Exeter is the vibrant new hotspot that brings a slice of California's party spirit to the heart of the city. Known for its lively Bottomless Party Brunch, guests can indulge in 90 minutes of unlimited Prosecco and cocktails alongside a delicious brunch spread, all while soaking up an energetic atmosphere. The restaurant boasts a beautifully designed interior that enhances your dining experience.
I recently organised a bottomless brunch for my wife's birthday and the guys at underground couldn't have been more accommodating. The manager Josh helped massively to decorate the place and even picked up a cake for me when I was unable to get it to the venue. We were served drinks throughout with excellent table service and the food was very good also. We all had a great time.

Beautiful and well-designed layout restaurant. The price is reasonable as I think the quality of the ingredients are good. And you should be aware that nothing cheap in Exeter (in general). The staff (with the beard) is so welcoming friendly and attentive. He help made the better atmosphere to our lunch time. Only one negative point is that the food is too salty (especially Avocado Royal). I hope that this was only a mistake. Maybe I may go back and try another dish.

Really nicely designed space and a perfect place to go either day or night. Staff were super friendly and attentive. We did have to wait about 45 mins for our food, although we were a party of 5. The food was completely worth the wait and only a bit on the pricey side. I had the Cali Flatbread and it was amazing. The large portions are definitely big enough but not overly filling.

I love it here. The interior is aesthetically appealing but the food. Oh my god. The mac and cheese bites are to die for. It is on the pricey side but it’s one of the best food places in Exeter in my opinion. The veggie burger was just as nice. And my partner loved her chicken wings ❤️‍🔥

Very disappointed with breakfast. Pancakes were raw and resembled a thick slice of bread. As for the cooked breakfast, this came out luke warm, I will let the picture of the eggs do the talking. The manager took the drinks off of the bill.

Exe Restaurant is a delightful culinary gem nestled in the heart of Devon and Cornwall, where the focus is on locally sourced ingredients that showcase the best flavors of the West. The menu features seasonal delights such as Dartmoor smoked venison, slow-roasted Devon pork belly, and baked Brixham hake, all crafted from fresh produce obtained from nearby farmers' markets. Really good food with a good amount of local fare on offer. The service was brilliant. The wines on offer were all good (we tried most of them). The atmosphere would be 5 stars but as it was a midweek night it wasn't quite as busy as it should have been. Though with the promise of live music we'll be back for cocktails another night.

Boom Battle Bar Exeter is a unique venue that offers a combination of dining, drinking, and interactive entertainment. The restaurant serves Mediterranean small plates designed for sharing, while the bar features a selection of wines, beers, and expertly crafted cocktails alongside their own spirits. It's an ideal spot for casual meals or drinks. Additionally, the activity bar provides an opportunity to unleash your competitive spirit with games like shuffleboard and axe throwing in a safe environment.
I've visited Boom Battle Bar a few times now, I've enjoyed the virtual darts and the crazy golf course. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food is really good! The atmosphere is my favourite part of the venue though, neon lights and coloured spotlights all over, plus a very cool party button in the loos. On this visit we did have an ulterior motive, scouting the venue out for a photoshoot location! We got some fabulous test snaps and will be in touch re hiring the place.

Eat On The Green is a popular spot, especially on busy days like Sundays. While outdoor seating would be ideal, the cozy indoor space with ample room between tables and a wheelchair-friendly corner by the window was just as delightful. The Ulster breakfast, though not cheap, was worth every penny with its high-quality hogs pudding and perfectly made potato cake. The homemade lemonade and gluten-free full English were also highly recommended.
Found this place by chance and I'm glad we did. It was lovely to sit outside and have the beautiful scenery around. Food was amazing and so was the staff. Food came out quick and tasted very good. My parents were happy to find somewhere that had omelettes and my little one enjoyed his sandwich and chips very much. Definitely worth going here for lunch. You won't be disappointed.

Second time visiting this lovely little place looking over the catheridal green. The first time I tried the breakfast and the second time we had lunch and both occasions, the food was well presented, good portion sizes, and very tasty. I have to say the hot chocolate is one of the best ones I've ever had. It has seating outside and inside with an upstairs too. Staff are friendly. Would recommend visiting

We enjoyed the location next to the Cathedral and the food- especially the plentiful gluten free options and iced tea. Sit by the light pole if you want shade outside and there are no more umbrella tables. The chips/fries were excellent! My husband enjoyed the chicken sandwich. We were amused that you can add alcohol to the smoothies.

Met up with friends, enjoyed a lovely cream tea with fresh scones and delicious carrot cake. Confusion over whether we could have cake without a main course although it was 3pm, but it turned out that because we had booked for cream teas and requested a cake alternative option we were able to have it. Very generous portions. It was very busy but service was good once order was sorted.

Went for a post graduation meal for 7 of us, having previously enjoyed nice meals there. Great service in what I imagine was a busy week for them. Great tapas and even better cocktails. Came here for mothers day lunch- the food was incredible and the waiter was lovely and attentive. We also got given free Prosecco which sadly only my mum could drink as I’ve recently quit drinking, but it was a really nice touch and super generous! I loved how the restaurant was decorated. There was also a super talented live duo, who sang a lot of songs that I know, so that was really enjoyable. Overall, perfect experience, I had a lot of fun- thankyou so much!

Great music, very good atmosphere. It was a lovely evening thank you. Update - 16 July 2023 Fantastic table service, free olives and nuts due to delay on food delivery. Staff were super attentive and apologetic for lack of usual food standards. They also discounted the bill due to the wait and some cold food. We had a free bottle of prosecco and the staff member took great care of us and was constantly liaising with the kitchen. My food was lovely as I had a salad with goats cheese, delicious. The tea was lovely and it was served in lovely cream and brown teapots.

Can't believe it took me so long to finally try out this place. The food is amazing, cocktails even better, and the atmosphere is perfect. The actual terrace overlooked the cathedral and the guildhall shopping centre. The prices (while high) are fully justified, in my opinion. The only problem I had is that the waiting staff did not clean our table quickly enough. It kept clogging up with empty plates and glasses. Cannot wait to visit again!
Eyeleron — Google review
Complete absence of service! We were celebrating our daughters graduation and were utterly disappointed.Firstly there were only two beers available on tap, so we had to order bottles. It took an hour for our drinks for a party of 6, an hour for our starters and another for our mains. During this time I had to find the waitress and ask for more drinks. They sat on the bar while she was talking to her friends, so we got our drinks off the tray on the bar ourselves. Our starters came and we were given a dirty plate! When we ordered our mains, I was told there were no fish and chips, then no green Thai curry which left a choice of pasta or a salad! I did NOT want a burger. I got a salad and the rest of our party ordered burgers. When the burgers arrived after chasing the order, the patties were all completely burned and hard as a rock. Definitely go somewhere else. Has a lively atmosphere and could be a great place! Staff were absolutely off with the fairies!🤬We refused to pay for our food, but paid for our drinks.

Artigiano Espresso & Wine Bar is a versatile spot located on the High Street, offering a unique blend of coffee and alcoholic beverages. This concept, common in European countries, has recently gained popularity in the UK. With sister venues in London and Exeter, Artigiano offers a cheerful atmosphere from morning to night. Early visitors can enjoy specialty coffee, healthy smoothies, and brunches while night owls can indulge in cocktails, champagne, and craft beers accompanied by live music.
A Perfect English Breakfast in the Heart of the City I recently visited this lovely spot in the city center and was impressed. The English breakfast was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked sausages, crispy bacon, creamy scrambled eggs, and warm baked beans served with fresh bread. Came here for the first time for coffee. We ordered the matcha and 10 minutes later the staff came out to say they were out of it. Disappointing however we got to order another drink instead which was still yummy nonetheless. The seating outside is very nice and overall good location. Would come back again hopefully they are restocked next time!

Came in and tried to use the app on the table, which didn't work. Ordered at the bar. I ordered a white americano with cold milk and a sparkling water. When it came to four pound something I asked if they'd got the sparkling water on that, to which I got an eye roll and a "no". So, I asked for a sparkling water. When the white americano came with oat milk, we took it back to the bar and asked for skimmed, got another eye roll. Place is fine, bit noisy, but there are a lot of tables and people chatting as well as music playing so to be expected. There was no need for the attitude of the servers though. I should point out it was from males, the female server swapped the milk (that we didn't ask for in the first place) no problem. I don't usually leave negative reviews, I would rather just not review at all if I don't think a place is great, as I appreciate that sometimes places have a bad day and wouldn't want to tarnish a business with a low score for an off day. However, I really don't like rudeness, so maybe this place should just consider a little staff re-training.

Had the coconut frappe made and brought over to the table by Sophie. Very friendly, recommended the drink for me and was 100% perfect! Thanks Sophie and thanks Artigiano’s for making the lunch time catch up with the boys a great experience. Definitely recommend.

Staff were polite, but overall the place just felt lacking. One of our drinks was forgotten, and the smoothie I ordered tasted sour to the point I couldn’t finish it. They did warm up my cake when asked, which was nice of them, but it was still bland and stale. Not long after leaving I felt unwell and could still taste that sour drink. The tea was nicely made, though the portion was very small. For the high prices, the experience really wasn’t worth it, and we definitely won’t be returning.
Rowen N — Google review
We were basically ignored when we went in - was ages before the person behind the counter deigned to speak to us. When our coffees arrived the cups were sticky and the teaspoon didn’t look like it had been washed. Coffee itself was fine.
Claire R — Google review
The place is right in the middle of city centre with optional outdoor sitting arrangements. The food was not very impressive but alright. Too much suger and cinnamon in the tea. As usual and like every other place, the suger should be provided separately rather than already put in. Over all it is a alright place.

This popular patisserie is well-known for its delicious pastries and cakes, with classic sugar paste-covered tiered cakes being a particular favorite. The shop also specializes in more contemporary cupcake towers, as well as their infamous croque-en-bouche - a tower of sticky profiteroles. For those looking for a single cake, Patisserie Valerie has several lovely options to choose from.
Me and my partner had afternoon tea here for her birthday and it was really nice! The coffee was really great, and the afternoon tea was surprisingly filling! Everything was interesting, the scones were warm, the sandwich fillings were tasty and the sweet treats were nice! The afternoon tea came with unlimited drinks, it's reasonably priced for what you get. I bought an afternoon tea voucher from red letter days, which worked out cheaper.

Had a Tea for 2, crammed onto a tiny table we could barely move, so close to the other tables you're basically sat with them. The food was dry and stale, the scones were rock hard and cold and it felt like it had been left on the side since this morning. I wouldn't recommend.

I bought a gift voucher for an afternoon tea for my mum for Christmas. She used it today with her friend in the Exeter branch. She was highly delighted and couldn't praise the food and service enough . Thank you. A very happy customer ( mum) and made my day to see her so pleased with my gift 🥰

I’m outraged and so disappointed with the customer service from Patisserie Valerie, we purchased our mums 50th birthday cake from them and it arrived damaged and had evidently been tampered with in transit. The cake was in a completely unfit state to present to my mum on her birthday. I immediately emailed customer service, providing videos and photos of the state of the cake and suggested a refund would be acceptable, given we had no choice but to dispose of the cake as it had been opened by someone prior to me receiving it and toppings touched/removed, i’m gobsmacked that they thought it acceptable to give me a £20 voucher towards another cake! I am £45 out of pocket and have been embarrassingly left with no birthday cake to give to our mum on her special birthday. It feels incredibly unjust that as a customer I have been treated this way!

Visited today. As soon as walked in we were acknowledge and led to a table right next to the only other person in the place!!! Why do people do that?! I asked for the sofa kind of seats which we were given. They are very battered chairs but were comfy! The cafe has no life or soul to it, very dreary! I ordered a tea and an almond croissant. The tea was very weak looking but did actually have a bit of flavour but the croissant was dry, had a weird after taste and a tiny bit of Almond paste! Tescos have better ones and that’s saying something!!! I did eat it as needed some sugar but I will not be returning as it really was an expensive and quite horrible experience.

Ordered a £52 cake for my mother’s birthday and didn’t ever arrive. Poor customer service trying to offer a voucher for the value first before refund. We were so excited to order from here but won’t in future and certainly won’t recommend.

Puerto Lounge is a vibrant and art-decorated space located in the heart of Exeter's beautiful Quayside. It offers a variety of British fare, including options for kids and vegans, all while providing stunning bay views. Whether you're looking for a long lazy lunch or a cocktail-fueled evening, this spot has you covered with its great selection of cocktails and range of small and bigger plates.
The food was so delicious! It was really busy today, but the service was on point. We had the chicken harissa flatbread, and buttermilk chicken. Presentation and taste was a 10/10! If I could hug the chef I would!! 😍 Really liked using the app as it saves time and is easy to pay upfront without having to go to the bar etc. We’ll be back for sure ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had tapas and the food was amazing, nice atmosphere sitting outside and friendly staff. Just be cautious of the large amount of pigeons like that to fly around you. Will definitely be returning, recommend to anyone looking at going.

Drinks came out quickly, latte is creamy and tasty lovely blend There’s a kids breakfast bar with lots of cereal to chose from Wife is lost in the book swap shelf and a couple of board games The stylish atmosphere is amazing Staff is friendly There’s dog treats!!! It’s a large place with a river view and outside sitting with large umbrellas And the food is absolutely stunning!

Me and my friends spent about six hours there and they made us feel so welcome the whole time. Between the four us we had about 20 cocktails and they were amazing. The food was absolutely delicious, they had such a good menu for our gluten allergenic friend and we all really enjoyed the food especially the tapas. We had Finley, Caitlin and Tilly serving us and we couldn’t ask for better service. They are absolutely incredible and a massive asset to the business. We 100% recommend going there as you won’t find anywhere better.

Faultless experience which has been repeated EVERY visit! Exceptional service which went above and beyond, impressing all of our party and ensuring that all of our needs were surpassed! Having lived in Exeter all my life I have happily visited the Puerto Lounge with friends and family on numerous occasions, I mean, what's not to love? The close proximity to the river, the quayside, the varied menu at very reasonable prices and always space available both inside and out with friendly, helpful staff seemingly abundant. However, this week, I was actually speechless about how well our party were looked after. Working at a local community hospital, it's useful to know that there are places where our staff and residents can go safely with the knowledge that the staff care. I asked at short notice for a cake and candle for one of our guests as it was his birthday; Vicky, who I believe is the manager, immediately confirmed that they would provide a suitable dessert and that although they didn't have any candles, they would nip over the local shop to buy them. The dessert was provided, ice cream as well as cake with a singing member of the team and a candle lighting the way! We were so impressed and this superb effort made our gentleman's day! All of the team at the Puerto Lounge are friendly, welcoming and keen to help every visitor have a great experience and it's no wonder when they are led by someone as caring and exceptional at customer service as Vicky! Thank you! It meant a lot to us all xx

We cycled in from Topsham for Tapas (and a pint). Excellent value and a good selection to choose from. Being able to sit outside was a bonus and it was a good atmosphere. The icing on the cake, is that the staff here are exceptional. We have visited a few times and they are always pleasant and helpful. Attentive, without being in your face and really do care about your visit (not always the case with the larger chain establishments) They are a credit to the company. Thank you. We will be back again soon :-)

Very cool place. I recommend the place on the street with a view of the river. Quiet, nice to talk. A little upset that the staff is slow to clean up after the guests who left, and then the seagulls take the remains on the plates.

We all had a brilliant time having the bottomless brunch here for my birthday. The food and drinks were amazing but the highlight here was the incredible staff. They went above and beyond to look after each and every one of us. Thank you so much Vedant, Jack, Morgana and Hettie. You made my special birthday one to remember. I would highly recommend coming here. Thanks guys 🥰

This was a great bar for drinking, with a modern and bright atmosphere! This is brought out by the lighting with the decor including mock greenery, counter is stylish in its own right anyway. Seating is nice outside and we shared out a shots stick, a tad on the expensive side though.

Decent bar/ restaurant in the city centre. Food is always a bit mid but affordable for a nice evening. Photobooth is fun but the space is cramped and lighting/ music is very overwhelming. Staff are a bit clueless but try their best!

Stag do Josh, Last weekend, me and a group of friends headed to Revolution Exeter. and honestly, it was one of the best nights we’ve had in ages! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was buzzing. The music was on point—great mix of old-school classics and current hits that kept us dancing all night. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, even though it was a busy evening. They made sure our table was ready, drinks were flowing, and everyone felt looked after. Speaking of drinks—top tier. The cocktail menu is packed with creative options the beer options are highly recommend. The place had the perfect vibe for a group night out: fun, lively, and with enough space to dance but also chill out and chat. We stayed way later than planned because we were just having that good of a time. Massive shoutout to the team at Revolution Exeter for making our night so memorable. We’ll definitely be back soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My wife and I had a rare weekend to ourselves so we headed out for a night on the town and to rekindle our youth. We had a great time at Revs (it’s a chain you can trust) and the night flew by. The food was good and the drinks were a great price. They tasted great going down, although less enjoyable coming back up at the hotel later, but that didn’t spoil the night. Would definitely recommend

The inviting atmosphere, adorned with contemporary decor and lush greenery, makes it a perfect spot to unwind while enjoying delicious vegan waffles or a perfectly brewed coffee.
This is the most amazing place in Exeter for food and drinks. We stumbled on this place and I’m so glad we did. The food was amazing and so delicious. All plant based and the menu has such an amazing choice of dishes. We had the smoky beans on ciabatta and the ‘eggs’ Benedict. We also ordered several baked goods after. The staff are super friendly, the decor and vibe are epic and they allow dogs too. Thanks for such a great time. We can’t wait to come back

This place is truly a hidden gem near the city center. The place is beautiful the atmosphere is charming, the service is excellent, and the food left me speechless. It has quickly become my favorite spot in Exeter!! . 💯
Andrea P — Google review
I’m giving an overall 5 stars because of their willingness to accommodate me, who needs a low-carb option. There are sandwiches, and other dishes with grains and/or bread, but some of the side dishes were good for me. I asked for the scrambled tofu, the poached “egg” and the aubergine “bacon” with some mixed leaves, and they made me a plate with this medley. I also complained that my green tea was too weak (it really was, and I did allow it to steep) and they replaced the pot with one with more leaves (better, but still on the weak side - I’m a regular green tea drinker, so I know green tea). The scrambled tofu was good, though a bit skimpy for the price; the aubergine “bacon” was very tasty, but they don’t need to call it “bacon” - I really think if you are vegan then you need to get over having fake food. It’s grilled aubergine slices, period! The “award winning” “egg” was a bit weird. It is made of tofu, and they do a pretty good job of making it look like an egg, but why? Again, if you are vegan, stop trying to imitate foods you don’t eat. You can never replicate them, and if you really want to eat an egg, just eat one. It didn’t taste like an egg and the texture just isn’t like an egg. The service is on the slow side - one chef making up all the dishes, with a lot of care (as we watched from table 1). The atmosphere is OK. I generally would prefer vegetarian food, but that is hard to find these days. For a vegan place, this was fine.

We always visit when in Exeter, we’re not local but this is one of our favourite vegan spots for brunch. Seasonal menus are varied and you really are spoilt for choice. Great drink selection too. You can really tell how much effort goes into the food and we just love the feel of the place. Thanks team 🫶🏻

A friend recommended this place many years ago and I'm glad they did. The food and drinks on offer are epic! Honestly the waffles are next level taste sensations! Just writing this is making me want some right now. The hardest part about eating there is choosing savoury or sweet waffles. To be fair I'm always happy with either, knowing my appetite I could do both easily. I really love how they create their own recipes, their in house creations and how they experiment and trial all sorts of amazing flavours and ideas. They are also gelling the community with their arcade location, craft fairs, music nights, sketchbook workshops and much more. They have friendly staff and the café is in such a unique and beautiful place. The team are really accommodating, careful and flexible with my vegan, gluten free and no chilli restrictions. If you have any other restriction or questions just give them a shout. I look forward to my next visit!

I have been recently treating myself with cappuccino here, and as much as their coffee i think i really like the cosy nature of this tiny nice place. also i think i appreciate their playlist a lot :) because whenever i visit i definetely hear one of Stranglers, Simple Minds, Dandy Livingstone or Talking Heads... feels safe and peaceful. If they're seeing this, i'd love to follow their playlist (if available).

Nice bar and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing was we visited on a Saturday afternoon and they only had one craft beer on. We enquired why that was and we were told they had other beers just nobody had had chance to put them on yet. It wasnt that busy at the time so it was odd that the selection was so limited, considering how busy it was likely to get a few hours later.

First time I have been here. Very impressed with how all the staff appeared to be adhering to COVID-19 guidelines, clearing and cleaning tables after each one was vacated. It was very busy and prices were also reduced due to the government eat out scheme. I didn’t have to wait to long for my meal once ordered. Staff were polite and friendly and coping well with the influx of customers. Will definitely come again, especially when the football is on, plenty of screens to watch from. Well done all round, Ty. Popped in for a brew and some breakfast. It looked amazing but I was a little disappointed as the pancakes were cold. Place has a great vibe and I'm sure it's usually pretty good in there. I did go back later in the day and they had ran out of tea which was disappointing as there is a shop next door
Mike L — Google review
Lovely cafe with cute student vibes and a petit menu. The smoothie bowls are amazing and reasonably priced , very filling. The coffee is a 8/10, the iced mocha had a lot of chocolate unmixed at the bottom. There is student discount which makes the food and drinks a very good price. I would love to rate them higher as I come here often, but they often run out of ingredients and have a limited selection and on occasion forget my order when it has been busy. I do recommend this cafe to experience it for sure as it is wholesome. They do have plug sockets so it’s a great place to study too!

Honestly amazing. The owner (Howard) is a good looking young man but has appalling fashion sense. If I could give one star for fashion I would. We only ventured out into Exeter as we were on our way back from Cornwall and my girlfriend and I loved the vibe, coffee and food. Amazing gluten free options and the staff were so friendly. Will definitely come here again!

The coffee was good! Service was slow and inefficient. The food was badly cooked and the dishes had small portions. The potato hash was semi-cooked, the avocado was hard, and the meal took a long time to arrive. Would not recommend, unless you got a coffee to go.
Matthew H — Google review
Visited 05/03/2023 12pm-ish: Came in with another person who had been there 5 months ago and enjoyed their time, unfortunately it had changed for the worse. Service was quick but the portions were small (considering price), no napkins, no offer of condiments, drinks were especially too much e.g. £3 plain hot chocolate in child-size mug. Staff (maybe due to kitchen overheating?) were impolite by opening the main door on a windy cold March morning after customers had closed it (several times) and did not apologetically inform anyone about why - customers began leaving and putting on coats - can be easily resolved by a backdoor or fan system. Did not meet expectations from recommendation. Hope to see improvement as it is mostly staff based issues.

Ordered waffle at 12pm, half an hour later I was told that they don’t have enough waffle. Ended up getting mix of pancake and waffle. Waited for 45 minutes and portion was tiny! I expected more than only four raspberries when it said waffle with fresh fruit. Waffle was clearly a store bought Belgium sugar waffle. Overall, disappointing for the long wait. What’s worst, the cafe was full of a very very strong oily cooking smell, feels like eating in a KFC kitchen. However coffee was great and my friend’s sandwich was okay, just a bit overpriced for a £9 sandwich.
CNam Y — Google review
I had high hopes for this place as it is so close to my home. I haven’t eaten there, the food does look and smell good but the two coffees I’ve ordered have been disappointing. My first visit I ordered an iced latte and it was fine but expensive and I’ve had better iced coffee drinks at fast food places. Yesterday I ordered an Americano and honestly, it was awful. The espresso shot was quickly and carelessly pulled while the water added was much too hot, I could barely hold the to go cup without burning my fingers on the walk home. It tasted burnt and muddy, again not the kind of coffee you expect from a cafe. I understand why it’s always crowded, it’s very Instagramable and attracts students but if you’re going for the coffee, there are much better places around Exeter. I’ve also not been impressed with the two different servers I’ve had, they weren’t very friendly and the overall vibe of the place seemed pretentious.

Café Rouge is a french bistro with a retro 50s setting. It feels like you're in the heart of France, and the food is really good. The burgers are particularly delicious, and the prices are reasonable. You can also get wine here at sensible prices.
Our second time visiting here. Always a lovely relaxing visit. Love the decor here- nicely laid out and never feel rushed. Always seem to be able to get a table when I've visited without the wait. Staff are always attentive and friendly. Served by Klara on our last visit and nothing seemed too much trouble- excellent service.

Nice place, the staff were friendly and apologetic for the problems with the menu and music not working. As with many chain restaurants the menu is pretty dull for vegetarians and offered very little choice, the staff kindly offered us another option we could take. A point to note is that you have to specifically ask to not have your chips seasoned if you don't like an excess of salt!
Z U — Google review
atmosphere is warm at best, but is crowded and small, always bumping into people, lights are dazzling and cool but it's still dark. food was decent, portions not so big.
Tony C — Google review
A lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere. It really does have a French ambience. The food was delicious, French onion soup, followed by Moules. The only negative for me was the price of the wine. I dare say that that the quality was good, but was beyond my lunchtime treat budget. The beer was nice though.
Simon B — Google review
While the food was nice, it took 45 minutes to make 5 sandwiches and for what came, I’d say it was overpriced. Wouldn’t return with all the options available in Exeter.

Whilst exceptionally busy this lunch time with only two staff members on, and there being a wait for service; they worked their socks off and still maintained really good service and both very warm and friendly in their approach to customers. Well done for clearly a pressurised lunch service with only two staff. Well done to the two people working today. Food and drinks were equally as delicious having the afternoon tea and an additional cappuccino and got chocolate between us. Yum!

Had a Groupon deal for our meal, staff were very friendly and explained what was part of the offer. I wore hoop earrings and somehow managed to loose it. Went back to the restaurant thinking I definitely had it there. And after explaining where I sat before they helped me find it. Great place, I would definitely go again

All I can say is first impressions the place looked lovely. But, the service was shocking! It was a busy Saturday lunch time I get it, but after receiving our drinks, we waited 30mins and no one took our order! We saw more and more people being seated at tables, and getting served. It was like we were invisible. If they were struggling to cope with the customers they already had, then they should have stopped taking more orders. Clearly needed extra staff, as they looked very under pressure, which obviously affected their service they provided, or didn't provide in our case! Will not be visiting again.

First time in The Cocktail Club, doesn’t look much from the outside but great atmosphere once you’re in. We went on a Saturday afternoon for happy hour, lovely and quiet, can see it getting very busy in the evenings. Bartenders Alex and Jack were great, mentioned that if there were cocktails not on the menu they would make them but also offered suggestions if we liked a particular spirit or flavour. Will definitely be back!

Came here late last night with a couple of mates, found it loud at first, but eventually everyone got into the groove and started dancing. Guy in the hat and wearing glasses served all of us in one go and told us about the student offer which made prices a lot more reasonable. Long Islands were good, mojitos were better!

Overall the experience was good. To start….. We book a table and came in at 6pm for a few cocktails after watching the Women’s World Cup at Sandy Park. We are all women age 40+ The table was ready for us, our server was excellent and attentive. We joined in with the dancing and embraced the atmosphere and music. We had around 2 cocktails each. We settled our bill with our server. Went to leave to catch our train home. As we were leaving a very aggressive female security person stop us from leaving staying we hadn’t paid our bill. She was extremely rude aggressive. We were all extremely upset angry. Finally after getting our server over to confirm we had paid we were able to leave Sad ending to a enjoyable experience

I visited recently for a couple of drinks with some friends and the atmosphere of the bar was electric! The bar staff were amazing but Harriet in particular really made my night. She was lovely to talk to, provided perfect service that left me with a huge smile and had such a warming personality that ensured I would definitely be back! Overall this place is amazing to visit and I would highly recommend for anybody looking for a new regular bar to visit!

I come here on Friday nights after work and it is my favourite place to let my hair down! The menu is fantastic, with all the classics done perfectly and some creative twists that make it worth coming back for. The staff are super friendly and clearly know their stuff and theyre more than happy to recommend something new if you’re stuck for choice. Yes, on the weekend night it’s busy and loud, and that’s exactly what makes it so much fun!! It’s the perfect place to kick off a night out or celebrate with friends. If you love good drinks, good vibes, and a place that’s always full of life, you’ll love this place as much as me!

My experience at the cocktail club was exquisite, walked in and didn’t know what to order. Then a helpful bartender named Will suggested east state hold up and it was in fact a really good drink. Porsha also was really nice recommending all different types of shot. Overall my experience at this venue was amazing. Would suggest checking out and would recommend to others.

My friend and I went to the Cocktail Club and were very impressed by the quick and efficient service of the staff. Harriet and Liv were very friendly and approachable which made our experience one to remember! The drinks were very nice, we will be back to try some more soon.
