Mexican restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled in Tulsa's Kendall-Whittier district, Calaveras Mexican Grill offers a blend of Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican dishes. The restaurant boasts a salsa bar with an array of options, from fire-roasted to guacamole salsa. The pork verde, California quesadilla, and pozole verde are standout menu items that keep patrons returning for more. Since its establishment in 2014, the eatery has garnered popularity through word of mouth alone.
My friend and I stopped for a quick lunch at this delicious spot. They have a salsa bar with a variety of chunky and creamy salsas and multiple levels of heat. I ordered the Enchiladas and she ordered two tacos. Both were so delicious. I definitely recommend trying this location

This place was hyped up way too much in my opinion. I specifically came here from a tik tok video and I was disappointed. The corn tortillas on my tacos were super dry. I got one chicken and one asada two taco plate with rice and beans. The Asada & chicken was cold and dry with no flavor or Salt at all. I used the salt shaker but not good enough no salt in the beans either. The salsas were too hot with not a good flavor either. My husband got the Carnitas plate and surprisingly the carnitas itself was good and salty but he didn’t touch the rice and beans. The rice was dry and kind of hard. The food was edible but didn’t match the hype. Will not be returning unless it’s just for Carnitas itself because my husband did like those.

Ok, let me start with TikTok telling us about Birria Ramen, so we HAD to try it when next in Tulsa! We drove in for our daughter's pom competition and naturally had to eat something. This spot is right off of historic Rt 66, so as a car nut, the environment is already perfect! Then we were greeted immediately and offered a seat and a menu. The Mrs ordered Birria ramen, the daughter ordered red tacos (birria), my little cousin/ the daughter's beautician had enchiladas on flour tortillas, and I had hands down the best Torta I've ever eaten! To make it even better, you can choose spicy level from 1-4. I went level 3, which was right on for my spicy tolerance (somewhere around habenero heat). As if that's not enough you may pick your salsa from the salsa bar to enjoy with your chips(one paper boat of chips per entre ordered) I had the pineapple mango habenero salsa which was amazing, with a perfect balance of sweet heat! I am looking forward to our next trip to T-town so that I can explore the menu more!!!

Went to Calaveras Mexican Grill for lunch today at 1 PM, our order was taken by Brenda at the counter. We got our salsas, onions and escabeche (delicious!) at the salsa bar — nice selections. We picked a booth and waited for food to be delivered. I ordered 3 red tacos and they were excellent (especially dipped in consommé) and lemonade. My bride had two ground beef tacos and horchata. We loved that they fried their own corn tortillas!! And for those that care, the men’s restroom was very clean and no trash lying around.
Donald H — Google review
Had the street tacos. They were very good. The service is fast and friendly and the food is flavorful.

The first time there, will be back for more. Good food, excellent service!! Very clean place. I really like that they have salsa bar, awesome flavors by the way.

This place checks off everything I look for in a restaurant: Good food Smiling faces Good prices For a family of 6 we all ate for only $50. And everyone got to eat. The food taste freshly made with love! The lady’s was all kind! There is plenty of seating inside and out. I definitely recommend eating here! The only complaint I had is that in the back it was a little warm but she did give me a heads up. The set is family friendly and local owned, in my experience those places always have the best food. Update: such an awesome place, here's some more pictures Great little locally owned restaurant; I've been here a handful of times now and it never disappoints. The salsa bar alone is worth the trip. Great sauces on the meals and very flavorful proteins. Try the vampire tacos! Another update: quality is slipping, this trip wasn't very good :(

Birthday party plans. It was hard getting ahold of them, but this place is amazing! They were so friendly and helpful, the service was excellent and the food was really good. Thank you so much for all you did for us.

Randomly hit a u turn and wound up having a philly cheese steak taco that changed my life. My phone is dying so I'll edit it later but this is a great place and I regret nothing! More pics and review edit coming soon. Staff is amazing, informative and kind.

Great little restaurant with very friendly and attentive staff. The food was top-notch and different from other Mexican restaurants. We'll definitely be back.

In other reviews I have explained in extraordinary detail the difference between a “smothered” and a “wet” burrito. Your memory has been imprinted with the inerasable, graphic image of a wet burrito. You will never be fooled again. You know where the best wet burrito in Tulsa is served. I promised, next up was smothered. Not just “smothered”, but “Double Smothered” All y’all, get in the car. The service here was great and the prices are decent. The salsa was bland so I asked for hotter salsa. It wasn’t really any hotter at all it just tasted like lime. I ordered tacos and they were also incredibly bland, besides the taste of grease. There was just way too much grease on just about everything which made everything just taste off.
Kayla H — Google review
Great pork tacos! I can only eat 2, at most, because they are huge! Queso, salsa, bean dip and guacamole are all delicious. Definitely try this place.
Angela S — Google review
Food is fantastic. Service is good. This place gets packed during lunch and dinner. Baños are in the golf shop through a side door. Tacos are outstanding. Fajitas are amazing. Enchiladas are some of the best! Edit: had the chicken bacon ranch quesadilla with the jalapeño ranch. Not my first time having the quesadilla, but first having it with this dip. YUMMY!!
Jeremy O — Google review
The food was bland server was not customer-oriented at all asked to see the menu had my hand out she tossed it on the table and was very inattentive as a whole.

Mexican restaurant
Restaurant
El Rio Verde Restaurant is a beloved spot in Tulsa, known for its cozy atmosphere and authentic Mexican cuisine. The menu offers classic dishes made with fresh ingredients, including the famous green chili pork stew. The restaurant's casual interior features colorful tables, and the owners have been running the place for 20 years. Visitors rave about the flavorful wet burrito and efficient service. Located in North Tulsa, this hidden gem is perfect for anyone craving a satisfying and delicious Mexican meal.
First impressions aren’t great. Old rundown building with gravel parking lot. But when we pull up and there’s 25 to 30 cars outside, you know it’s gotta be good. Once you walk in you can tell it’s a quaint old diner that’s been converted into a Mexican restaurant but still has the swivel barstools at the front counter. The menu is simple, one page front and back, but as I learned, it’s very authentic. On this trip, I tried the signature wet burrito with shredded beef as it comes highly recommended and a classic Mexican taco with Al Pastor. Both are out of this world. It left me wanting more as I couldn’t get enough of this authentic Mexican food and this little restaurant. It’s off the beaten path, but definitely worth the side trip to this little quaint restaurant for out of this world Mexican.
Andrew F — Google review
While passing through Tulsa, OK today, I finally stopped in to try El Rio Verde Mexican Restaurant after hearing several mentions of their famous “Wet Burrito.” Just a few blocks from The Outsiders Museum—one of my favorite little Tulsa stops—this spot is the definition of a “hole in the wall.” Honestly, it’s the kind of place some folks might pass right by without a second glance. But let me tell you—it was busy, and that burrito had been on my mind all morning. I was greeted quickly and told to sit wherever I liked. The place is small—maybe 16 tables—but it had a steady flow of customers. Chips, salsa, and a menu landed on the table right away, and I ordered up some queso and their well-known Wet Burrito with Al Pastor. The queso arrived first and was solid, then just a few minutes later came the main event: that big, cheesy, saucy burrito that’s earned this place its local reputation. It was loaded with flavorful Al Pastor and topped with melted cheese, salsa, a scoop of sour cream, and guacamole. Definitely a hearty meal. Overall? It was good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but certainly worth a try—especially if you're in the mood for something bold and satisfying. I’d stop in again when the craving hits. Fantastic place for authentic Mexican food their carnitas flautas were crispy, hot, and perfect. The next winner is their refried beans and cotija cheese… yum! Seriously though the crispy chips and salsa made me happy wiggle! My husband had the torta Ahogada with carnitas and it was so delicious. Our server was so very attentive and nice. The place was clean and quite busy. Definitely excited to keep coming back and eating our way through the menu.

I have been wanting to eat here for years, so finally got the chance to do that recently. I was in the mood for tacos, so I ordered two crispy tacos. I really wanted ground beef, but they only have shredded beef or steak, so I went with shredded. I also ordered a shrimp taco and two tostadas - one with pork and one without meat. I also got guacamole and queso and two Mexican cokes. My order cost me $31 - which is really reasonable! Unfortunately, when I tried my food, it wasn’t very good. That’s probably my fault since I ordered to-go. There chips and guacamole were were good. Everything else wasn’t that great. I will try again by eating at the restaurant.
Sarah D — Google review
Amazing authentic Mexican food the burrito was incredible; fantastic service accommodated my dietary requirements. Will definitely visit again.
Lizabeth R — Google review
Never judge a book by its cover! I was skeptical because of the outside of this place but man the food is to die for! I crave their wet burritos and vampiros! I’m serious the cabeza on the vampiro is tender and never misses, the best vampiros ever!
Bethanie W — Google review
Overall I loved their food and service! The Enchiladas are a must when you visit here. The hostess was wonderful and very helpful when ordering. She also suggested a few things in the menu which was very helpful being hat it was my first time here. The atmosphere was great and loved the decorations which made the ambiance great.
C.S — Google review
Stopped here on my way driving across country for lunch and was one of the best meals of my trip! Easy access right off the highway and although its in a desolate looking neighborhood, the area seemed safe. Plenty of parking in the side lot. Lots of friendly locals coming and going and was surprised at the quality of the super authentic Mexican food from this little spot. Very retro vibe inside with counter and table service. The girl behind the counter couldn't have been nicer and they had my order ready to go in 15 minutes. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and they were some of the best I have ever eaten. The red sauce was amazing. Was spicy but not hot, just the slow burn where you need to go back for more. Corn tortillas were super fresh. If I lived close by, would be in every week. Between the atmosphere, service, good prices and quality of food, you can't do much better.

Absolutely love this place! New to Tulsa and was happy to find that the hatch green chile fajitas are some of the best fajitas I’ve ever had! Amazing frozen margaritas, free chips/salsa, and everything here is so fresh.

Lunchtime for a party of 12, and the staff handle it flawlessly. Make sure to order the spicy salsa to go with your chips as it’s packed full of flavor. I had a smothered chicken burrito, one of the better ones that I have ever had. I would put the rice and beans up against anyone.
Steve F — Google review
In from out of town. Service was very good. Food was very average and lackluster.
Phil F — Google review
Mexicali Border Cafe is a fun little psudo-"Mexican" food joint. I visited on a Saturday evening. There was no wait time & plenty of seating. Free parking in their lot, with lot Security, so that was NICE! Service was 4 out of 5, so not stellar but I have no specific complaint. The kitchen sent orders out quickly. The food arrived warm-ish & tasty. It was not at all authentic compared to what you might encounter in Mexico, but it was solid when compared to most Mex-Tex chains that seem popular these days. Atmosphere & decor was cute. My one Complement to management is that --in my opinion-- they managed to find the perfect level of sound for their background music. Just loud enough so you could tell what you were listening to if you focused, but low enough that it did not interfere with conversation. Perfect! Overall, yeah, I'd go back.
Ed H — Google review
Dinner at Mexicali Border Cafe in Downtown Tulsa, OK was just okay. We had a large party and we were able to get seated quickly with dinner reservations. Mexicali Border has a large menu. I ended up choosing the Ultimate Enchiladas, which came with one fajita steak enchilada and one chicken fajita enchilada filled with sautéed pico de gallo and portabella mushrooms. One was topped with queso mixed cheese , cilantro, and ranchera sauce. It was served with rice and Borracha beans. The enchiladas had a good taste but the texture was off. The ambiance was casual with dimly lit lighting. The staff was attentive. Overall, this is a great spot for large groups with a variety of dishes to choose from at a decent price. The dish I ordered could have been shared.
Wendy L — Google review
The food was standard fare, nothing overly special but still good. The service and atmosphere were on point. It's a great place to hang out and eat lunch with your friends. I'll visit again.
Hope L — Google review
Went for lunch with a group. I don't have any complaints, as with the other times I've been here in the past. I like their salsa, ask for the extra hot version. Their lunch plates are around 8 to 12 bucks and it was enough for two meals for me. Their steak is delish, I got the lunch fajita taco. Service was prompt and friendly. Update 2/1/23: Even better than last time! We were seated promptly, the server was fantastic and friendly. The lunch plates are still large portions and prices don't seem to have increased. Their chicken fajita wrap is my favorite.
Jessica E — Google review
I had the city tacos and they were really good. Staff was friendly and provided good service. I didn't like the salsa at all ( way too chunky for me) however my mom said she loved it so there's that. The chips themselves were pretty good. Pretty good atmosphere.... Just no booths. Overall good... Just a little pricey

Mexican restaurant
El Rancho Grande Mexican Food is a long-standing cantina that has been serving traditional Mexican dishes, frozen margaritas, and imported beers since 1953. Located along Route 66, it holds the distinction of being one of the first Mexican restaurants on this historic road.
Started off with chile con queso to go with our chips, as well as the PB&J Jalapeños. Cheese was good, but the stuffed jalapeños were unique. Stuffed with peanut butter and deep fried, then served with house made pepper jelly. I’ve never seen anything like them before. Hubs got the El Rancho Grande dinner, which was like a sampler and I got the camarones al mojo de ajo. Mine was great- not too crazy with the garlic. Would recommend this place!

On the Main Street of America, Yes - my favorite street, the US Route 66 is El Rancho Grande! The lighting and decorations were almost perfect! Very nice servers and people especially so during the lunch hours. Food wise, I felt like the have somewhat tone down the flavors that I am used to and love. This is more like Tex-Mex to me!

I asked for a green salsa. The waitress was new and didn’t advise me that there would be a charge. Which would have been acceptable should I had the option. She went to speak to her manager, Alicia which walked over with an attitude saying she will see what she can do. At this point I’m think they might new their $2 to pay there bills. I told the waitress to let it go and charge it. Alicia walks over and says NEXT TIME you know. Wow a manager talking down to a paying customer. What a great first and last experience. But not only does it stop there I called the next day to speak with John the manager and Alicia answers and HANGS UP on me. Let me also say that the food was horrible.
Vanessa U — Google review
I've seen reviews and been hearing about this Mexican restaurant. I decided to try today with a friend for lunch and I was a little disappointed to find out there's no options when it comes to the salsa. The service was good the restaurant seemed clean the atmosphere was okay but the food was disappointing I went ahead and gave it three stars because they're not shy of giving you food there's plenty of it it's just not what I thought. Warning! A guacamole salad is not a guacamole salad it's a plate of lettuce with a small scoop of avocado or guacamole on the side with a little tomato on the other. This hurt them in my review but they need more choices of sauces and I'm not sure what this red sauce was in the little cup but it tasted like it was mostly ketchup. I just was not impressed and I got caught up in all the hype about this restaurant and it lead to a further larger disappointment
Mauiboy D — Google review
I usually don't give all 5 stars but tonight I am!! Had a mini reunion in the cantina, probably 20 of us and had a great time! The waitresses were amazing, food was perfect, couldn't ask for more.

The restaurant is also praised for its attentive service and fantastic food, making it a must-visit spot for anyone looking for an exceptional Mexican dining experience in Tulsa.
Had lunch here on black Friday. My wife, mother in law and 3 small kids. Service was great. The hostess was new but did a good job ;) The food was pretty solid! Loved the queso. We all tore that up. We all got separate items. The chimichanga, my weapon of choice, was shredded beef (server recommended, great recommendation). The rice was one of the better rice dishes at a Mexican restaurant that I have had. The beans were ok. Overall, great experience! Will be back

Came here as a first time dining area, and I will have to say that everything was good. The salsa the queso was great along with my Pollo con queso. The rice was a little blend could’ve used some more flavor The Horchata was good as well if you like more cinnamon in it then it’s probably not for you. But I loved the taste

Came today with a friend and have to say it was great food was excellent. Price was great service was excellent. The waiter wasn't to pushy I like how he didn't keep interrupting us it was only to fill out glasses. Service was quick as well I definitely will be coming back again 10 out of 10.

I can’t even say enough about the staff and hospital here! They did an amazing job making our Zumba crew feel welcomed tonight. Giving us necklaces, bracelets upon bracelets and then t-shirts. Then they topped it off with a live DJ tonight. Definitely a place you want to visit!!!! The atmosphere and vibe was what we all needed for Cinco De Mayo. Great service and my carne asada was delicious!!! Definitely going back to try other menu items. The margaritas were awesome!!!!

Bad review is for my food. I ordered a steak quesadilla and queso. I would love to say I enjoyed my meal but I didn’t. I received the sour cream and guac in same container as vegetables. I received a small spoon full of sour cream which was my first disappointment when I opened my containers. My apologies for the bad pic, I was looking around for my sour cream :( The quesadilla has this burnt Smokey taste, not enjoyable at all. I flipped it and I can see why. As you can see in picture it’s greasy ( I know cheese has oil, but not a great look) and burnt. Now I don’t mind a little crispy, I actually prefer it. But this literally tastes like ash. like maybe not cooked in clean pan or burnt the oil. The queso and rice is good. So I did enjoy that for 25 bucks! If the owner would like to replace my meal, I will absolutely give you another chance and write an updated review. I hope this was just a one off, as I see your establishment can do better

The best fajitas I have had in years the pork, chicken, and steak just melted in the mouth. Made to order Guacamole was THE best, exactly how it should be. Pico was insanely fresh. Service was great, will be back.

We had an amazing time on Cinco De Mayo . The Dj was fantastic and the servers were on top of their game. We had a table of 8 and all were attended to with care and boy did we have fun! I was surprised at what a good place bravos is. I would go again!I

Tex-Mex restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Tulsa, Ricardo's Mexican Restaurant has been a beloved dining destination since its establishment in 1975 by Richard Hunt. This charming eatery is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and an extensive menu featuring mouthwatering burritos, nachos, and combo platters. One standout dish that keeps patrons coming back is the chile relleno—a delightful creation of Anaheim pepper stuffed with cheddar cheese, fried to perfection, and generously topped with rich chile con queso.
They have the best queso in the world! Chips are fresh and crispy. Tastes different than regular tortilla chips and better. We are from Cali and there’s no Tex mex there. We love Ricardo’s!! High recommend enchiladas. We got a special margarita half frozen half ice with mango and strawberry. Best margarita I’ve had.

We had planned to go out and share a meal with our friends, and one of them enthusiastically suggested Ricardo's. The way he said it, you’d think I should’ve known all about it. But here’s the kicker: despite living in the area for years, this was the first I’d ever heard of the place. Never seen it, never been there, and honestly, I was shocked—usually, I know all the local spots. Intrigued by this mystery restaurant, I happily swapped out my original choice to give Ricardo's a try. When we arrived, the sign outside proclaimed it had been open since 1975. How had I missed this for so long? Stepping inside, I liked the warm reception and old-school decor. Our group wasn’t quite complete yet, but the staff was gracious and even accommodated one of our friends who had difficulty walking. Instead of keeping the reserved table downstairs, they cleared a table on the main floor for us without making us wait longer. A great start to the evening. Once seated, I asked my friends what they’d recommend. The consensus? The chile relleno was a must-try. As I perused the menu, I spotted the combo plate option, which included two items and started with a scoop of guacamole. Perfect—I ordered the chile relleno along with a crispy taco. While we waited, I took a quick detour to check out the bathrooms. Here’s where things took a turn: the decor, while charming in the dining area, was starting to show its age, especially in the bathrooms. And the carpeted floors? Let’s just say it’s a design choice I strongly disagree with for a restaurant—hygiene, aesthetics, and overall vibe all take a hit. The carpets were dark and dampened the atmosphere, which momentarily dimmed my enthusiasm. The bathrooms themselves were clean but clearly overdue for a remodel. When the food arrived, it was unmistakably Tex-Mex in style. The chile relleno was decent—flavorful, but I personally wasn’t a fan of the cheese sauce smothered on top. I think the dish would’ve shined more without it. The taco, unfortunately, was pretty basic: a flour tortilla with ground beef and melted cheese. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t memorable either. The menu as a whole could use a fresh update—still Tex-Mex, but with some modern, vibrant twists to breathe new life into the classics. That said, I recognize that this restaurant has been thriving since 1975. Clearly, they’re doing something right to keep loyal customers coming back, and I respect that. On the bright side, the atmosphere was lively, and our waiter was attentive and friendly. The prices were slightly below average for the area, which was a pleasant surprise. Most importantly, everyone in our group enjoyed their food and had a good time—and that’s what really matters at the end of the day. As for me? I’ll say Ricardo's has its charm and has earned its long-standing reputation, but personally, I didn’t fall in love with the food. Still, if you’re a fan of nostalgic Tex-Mex and a welcoming vibe, it’s worth a visit. Who knows? You might just find your new go-to spot.

Came here for my friends birthday. Everything was delicious. I ordered the mini burritolata and it was perfect sized for the appetite. My friends ordered the #4 chili Relleno, chicken Enchiladas, cheese Enchiladas and cheese Quesadilla and kids chicken. They all loved there's as well. They have a thick cheese queso at this location. Atmosphere was okay. Couldn't hear any music so the background noise is other table conversations or dishes in the backroom. Service was okay. Took about 8 minutes to be greeted and another 5 to get a drink. Server did do good pre bus.

I've ate better Mexican food but it was good. The service was pretty good as well. It's only the 2nd time we've been here and this visit was way better than the first visit.

Nice place, clean and definitely a step above chains. Fast and friendly service, too. Big portions, but salsa is a bit too mild for my taste. But all-in-all a very good place with reasonable prices. I’ll be back next time I come through Tulsa.

Tres Amigos | Méxican Grill & Cantina is a vibrant and popular spot in Tulsa, offering a diverse menu of Mexican cuisine and cocktails. The festive decor and spacious patio make it a contemporary gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Guests rave about the scrumptious burritos, flavorful enchiladas, and succulent Shrimp Fajitas that showcase the addictive flavors of Mexican cuisine.
There with a friend. I ordered crispy beef taco, tamale, rice and beans. Was very good. My friend ordered stuffed avocado with shrimp and chicken, rice and beans. Wasn't a stuffed avocado. The onion, peppers, chicken, shrimp were on top of the avocado. She said it still tasted good.

Good, solid Oklahoma Mexican [OKIEMEX] food served in a cavernous, nicely decorated restaurant. Hot food and delivered fast. This restaurant can handle large crowds. It is much roomier than you would expect looking at it from the parking lot. Starts with large bowls of flavorful hot and mild salsa and my favorite thin, crispy chips. Lunch - An enchilada stuffed with chicken, rolled tighter than a Cuban cigar, side by side with a large traditional relleno, both covered with excellent queso, add a beef taco and the standard beans and rice and you have a pick three combo meal. Very good and outstanding queso! My wife went with the (as per the receipt) “Ensalada Azteca Chicken.” She rated it as “Excellent!” Seasoned chicken with onions, tomatoes and peppers, topped with black beans and enough avocado slices to last through the whole meal all adorned with a sprinkle of cheese. Good Lunch. Good Service! If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my reviews in my collection "Jalapeno Highway" by Spike S. on Yelp. I've probably been there.

Had a random weekday date night with the husband. Our salsa and chips were tasty. The salsa had garlic in it and was better than the spaghetti/marinara salsa sauces from other places. I ordered the chicken Flautas Mya as my dinner and he ordered Cinco de Mayo Enchiladas. The food came out warm and delicious. Service was good, but he was busy with bar and six additional tables. The husband's first drink was flat - second one was better. Love the fact this place is very close to home. Will return and try something new. I hear the stuffed avocados are amazing!

Father's Day and most of Tulsa was out of power..not Tres Amigos! I ordered the Burrito Patron with both steak and chicken! It was excellent! The perfect balance of queso and Pico. My Fiancé had the Volcano Rock Dinner? Whatever it's called it looked like a huge bowl of amazing flavor! Chicken,Shrimp,Chorizo, And ribs! With handmade tortillas! The chips and salsa were mid, and they charge for a refill. The classic Pitcher margarita( blackberry flavored ). The flavor was great.

We stopped in for supper and started off with the chorizo queso, which we all liked. I had a combination with a burrito and enchilada and it was good. Mrs. Flip Out tried their stuffed avocados with chicken and enjoyed it. Surprising us, Little Flip Out deviated from the usual taco request and tried a burrito. Littlest Flip Out enjoyed everything we shared.

Challengers of Oklahoma came in to eat at Tres Amigos tonight. They weren't ready for us, took the orders to be ready, few orders weren't right but substituted. My dish was perfect, other's wasn't. Not bad priced either on certain dishes, $10-$20 Area.

For Tulsa, this is some great Mexican food. The salsa is good, the medium salsa was better, and the habenero salsa was heavenly. At least, I think i saw god with the habenero salsa. They have a robot assistant name Roberto! The carne or beef fajitas are quite delicious. I didn't eat the dessert but the tres leches cake looked awesome! Good morning! I left my gray cabbie hat at the table where my friends and 1 teen was sitting last evening. Please reach out to me. Thank you. Good evening! Thank you for reaching back and locating my cabbie hat. My friend will stop by and retrieve it for me. I've landed in my home state.

Cancun International Restaurant is a simple, cash-only eatery in Tulsa that offers traditional Mexican dishes like beef tongue and chorizo. Known for its polite and professional customer service, Cancun stands out for being one of the few restaurants in the area to serve chivo (goat). The restaurant's salsas are highly praised for their unmatched flavor and freshness, providing a perfect start to any meal.
I drove by Cancun the other day, and I told myself, man …. You have not been here for awhile! Cancun used to be the talk among all my coworkers. I was fresh, it was new and most of all, it was uniquely flavorful! Tulsa have changed a lot, I am like a Rip van Winkle and so has Cancun. We all need to change or make adjustments to the changes with time. What so impressive here at dinner tonight, was that people eat here they are comfortable! They are comfortable with the people at their own table, they are comfortable with the service people and they are comfortable with their fella Cancun ‘s customers. Excellent fish fried, fresh crispy and hot!

Some of the best authentic Mexican food around. I've been coming here for over 20 years, and it is always scrumptious! The owner, Clelia, is always cheerful and happy to greet us. Excellent service and excellent food. I recommend the Super Burrito -with marinated chicken and an horchata. You won't be disappointed! Go check it out while you still can!

Food was good, but beware of the chips. We were unexpectedly charged a $1.50 per tiny basket of chips. The chips were okay, but not worth a $1.50 per tiny basket. Not a single word was said about the cost per basket as they were bringing them out. That alone, would lead me to never come back again.

UPDATED REVIEW “The Best salsa in Tulsa!” I love all of the food, but I probably eat more taco salads here than anything on the menu. They are fresh, filling, delicious. Take your pick, chicken or beef, you can’t go wrong. Ask for the salsa picante. It is fantastic. I could drink a bowl of it with a straw. The owner is a super friendly lady. She takes pride in her clean little restaurant. It shows. The service is attentive. The authentic food is one of my favorites. The restaurant has been recognized as one of the best in Tulsa by local newspapers and magazines. Check the walls next time you are there. Located just a few blocks north of Route 66. PREVIOUS REVIEW A very good Mexican restaurant, with a history of recognition for its food and service. Cancun International’s salsas (hot and mild) are unrivaled by any Mexican restaurant in Tulsa. It is consistent in flavor and freshness, visit after visit and always delivers a perfect start to a meal. I had the best wet Chili Colorado Burrito in Tulsa and my wife had the #2 combo: enchilada, tamale and a taco. The tamale was shredded beef. The enchilada and taco were packed with ground beef. Everything was well seasoned. The refried beans really stood out. They were perfectly creamy smooth and flavorful. I could have eaten a bowl of them. The food is delicious! The proof of this claim is documented. I was amazed as I looked at all the recognition this restaurant has received. The walls are covered with newspaper and local magazine articles attesting to the quality of the food and service over its past 25 plus years of operation. Local diners have chosen Cancun as their favorite, year after year. If I lived in a nearby neighborhood, I would be eating here, way too often. The folks working in here were very nice. The restaurant is spotless. Every time I have been to Cancun the owner has been busy cleaning. Excellent, friendly service as always! An inconspicuous little restaurant that fills your plate with some of the best Mexican food in Oklahoma. Eat Mexican Food Here!

My partner and I came here for the first time this Saturday and it was DELICIOUS. My torta de asada came fast with fresh avocado and the asada had so much flavor on its own. Have they closed? I was there Thursday afternoon around 12:30. They were closed. I called today around 11:30 and again at 6:15. No one answered the phone either time. I know she had been considering closing the restaurant in June and July. She told me it would be a monthly decision. If she has closed, my last Wet Chicken burrito was a week ago yesterday.

I was little disappointed with my experience today. The queso blanco was very runny, lacked flavor, and small for the price 2/10. The salsa was good but also very runny 7/10. I got the tacos which were pretty delicious and filling 10/10. My boyfriend got the torta which he devoured in 2 seconds 10/10. The rice and beans were typical nothing special about them 7/10. Overall I feel like you can find a cheaper and better restaurant. This place is overpriced for the quality.

Quick lunch at neighborhood spot.. used to be another place and inside interior is still in places being changed. I got enchilada lunch (chez and beef) with rice beans. Ground beef was seasoned good cheese enchilada was bland. Rice beans nothing to scream about. Partner got fiesta lunch; shrimp chicken beef over rice with veggies and cheese. Pretty much can't go wrong with that combo and he liked it. Booth was kinda wonky.. not sure if renovation or what. Decent meal not too pricey.

Enjoyed dinner at this location. Service was good. I did have several staff members walk past me at the stand waiting to be sat. They didn’t acknowledge me and that is always something that bothers me. Service at the table was good and attentive. In ordered the queso chimichangas and it was tasty. Not much crispy to it though and when something is deep fried I want that crisp. These were a bit more like flour tortillas. The extra hot salsa was amazing so if you like spice , ask for it.

Enjoyed ourselves with friends some lunch. A little bit more atmosphere could brighten up this place. Maybe some music or maybe more color. The decor is a bit outdated that could be what brings some life to the atmosphere. Other than that, the personnel is awesome. Specially our waiter was great and very attentive. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Gracias Amigos!!!

I ordered via Grubhub. The carnitas lunch and the small aquachile. First of all, it was a ton of food. A huge bag of chips with two large individual cups of salsa. Carnitas, rice & beans in one container, toppings in another. The carnitas were perfect. Well seasoned, well done as they should be, and tender. The rice could do without peas, but it was well seasoned, as were the beans. The tortillas were excellent. The star of the show was the aquachile. Oh my goodness. Perfect amount of spice, the shrimp were firm. It was limey, and a touch of sweet with the mango. Tons of avocado on top. Absolutely excellent. 100% in the top five meals I've had in Tulsa. I prefer carts with authentic, well seasoned, carne asada street tacos . Haven't had anything mind-blowing here. But this aquachile. 5 stars. And half the time carnitas aren't crispy on the outside like they should be or they're soooooo fatty. Some fat is good, obviously, but this was 👌🏽🩷 very pleased with this choice!

This is one of the worst experiences I've had here, I came with 4 friends, at 9:15 we didn't get our food until 9:50, one order was wrong. And the others were almost inedible. The food is very much overpriced for the amount you receive even with inflation, it's obsurd. One of my friends legitimately had to spit out his food. I would not recommend to anyone

My review of senor tequilla: i went in, wasnt very busy. Got satted immediately, and they seemed to kinda rush me, so i picked the Jarritos, but they only had one flavor, the fruit punch. I then ordered my food, the senor tequila fajita, which was a mix of chicken, peppers, shrimp, and beef, with corn tortillas and guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo. They brought me out salsa and tortilla chips immediately, both the salsa and the tortilla chips tasted store bought. They then brought me my entree and it looked good at first, and i paired all my toppings into a tortilla and it tasted really good. I then tried the meat individually and the chicken and beef were very dry, but the shrimp was good. The sour cream and the guacamole tasted store bought too. I then ordered dessert, which was a caramel flan, which again, tasted store bought, and they charged $7 for it which was insane to me. Looking into the decorations made me realize it was a very Amercanized version of a traditional mexican restraunt, and wasnt all too authentic. I also tried to order a aqua frescas (no thats not a misspelling thats what it said on the menu) and theyre menus were old too, so they were discontinued. I will say it wasnt horrible but it wasnt great, so im going to give it 3 stars.

Came here for my little girls birthday dinner. She has loved Senior T's and come to one of their locations since she was 1 year old (she is 14 now). I'm disappointed to say the least. Food was good. My love got taquetos and said they were okay. Good but not special. My birthday girl and I split the trip option fajitas. We got seafood and chicken but no beef so that was disappointing. Service was the biggest let down on this holiday (Halloween at 3pmish). We got seated right away and asked what drings we wanted. About 5 minutes later our drinks came. We got menus and asked right away if we new what we wNted. We did not, we just sat down, so we gave our drinks (Shirley temple, dt Pepsi, tea). About 10 minutes later she comes back with our drinks. Then takes our order. I asked her for chips and Salasa because none were brought yet and cup of queso. I also asked for one of their extra hot salsas. About 10 minutes later she drops our chips and salsa and queso and I have tk ask for thr hot one again. It doesn't come out until the meal. Meal comes about 15 minutes later. A really long time for 2 meals. I asked the server what they do for birthdays and she offered sopapillas so that was cool. (the other location that shut down would come out singing and make her wear a hat. So that was sad). Serve left while we ate and never came back until about 15 minutes later and we needed boxes. She dropped off the birthday dish and left in hurry. Love this chain but extremely disappointed in this performance, especially for a holiday and a birthday. You could have stepped it up more. We felt the server had 0 interest in smiling or talking.

I am am so sad. After 25 years, Senor Tequila officially closed on Sunday, April 27, 2025. I loved their food. They were the only Mexican restaurant that I've been to that didn't put cilantro in their salsa... which was a good thing! (I'm one of those people that fresh cilantro tastes like soap to me.) Their queso was also always on point! Fresh, warm chips every time. Every meal I had there was always good and everyone that worked there was always so nice. I really wish I could have their salsa and queso recipes. Senor Tequila, you will be missed.

0 STARS Bad service, Bad management and Horrible food. No seasoning . Ordered a California Burrito off the menu . With no red sauce on my burrito. It clearly states under Burritos “all platters served with rice and beans “ THEY DID NOT GIVE ME the rice and beans . When I nicely asked my waitress about the mistake, in return came the Manager. To my surprise because as stated in the Menu it clearly states “all platters served with rice and beans “ . The manager came to start yelling at me saying the burrito has everything inside of it and does not need a side of rice and beans . When i stated I expect rice and beans with my order because it comes as a Platter and is stated clearly in the menu and I showed him as well, with the Senor Tequilas Menu. The manager still refused to serve me and response of, “well i don’t care what the menu says, the burrito has everything inside and that is all”. I was even nice enough to not send back my Burrito with the Red sauce that i Told them to remove.

Average food and drinks. Exactly what you would expect from a Mexican place in Tulsa. Not bad but not anything to make you go, “wow that was good!” Service was very slow. Not a terrible experience, but not one that would make me want to come back.

The Fajitas we marginal, but slightly better than the average local Tex-Mex restaurants. The chips and salsa were good. It's a thiner tomato sauce, with a bit of a kick but good flavor. The saving grace are the beer prices. They're not giving the beer away, but I had a couple 18oz scooners of Pacifico for ($4.5)ea. We sat in the bar area, where there is plenty of space, big TVs and service is prompt. We were there for Game 7 of the World Series and I would definitely go back to watch another sporting event.

Upon entering, my wife and I stood at the front for nearly 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Several servers, the bartender and someone who seemed to be the manager walked past us without saying a word. They weren’t seemingly very busy. We were finally seated in the bar area & received water and chips (no salsa) We sat there for 20 MINUTES and nobody came to take our order. I finally got up and approached who I thought was the manager and told him that we had been sitting for a long time and no one had introduced themselves as our server, or tried to take our order. This manager was very rude, acted irritated that I even had anything to say, and walked to table and picked up chips and said, “Well who brought this then? He is very busy.” Never apologized for the wait or the poor guest service. As a restaurant manager myself, I would never speak to a guest or treat them the way this gentleman treated my wife and I. We got up and walked out and will not be returning. I was completely dumbfounded that this was the service we received, and from a manager. I know everyone is dealing with staff shortage, but that is no excuse. We were ready to order when we sat down and should have been given the chance when water was dropped. I have been in the past and never had an issue. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and instead were met with unacceptable service and behavior. He made it seem like it was our fault for even walking in the door. This manager needs to be educated on guest service.

Great service. Both enchilada sauces strong, though a sprinkle of cheese on top of the enchiladas would be appreciated. Chicken tender enough. Beans a big C-. If they up their bean game (to be fresh;suspect canned now), and have less dry rice, I’d like to go back. They were great on the main dishes but the sides were way sub par. Nice people tho!

This is our favorite restaurant in town. We've probably been coming here once a week most weeks for 5-6 years. This place never lets me down: *They have great chips and salsa - always fresh. *The food is consistently delicious, and they have quite a few vegetarian options. *The drinks are strong and generously sized. The skinny margarita is pretty dang good! * The live music on the weekends is fun, and you can usually get a spot on the patio those nights. But most of all, the staff is awesome. We always know we will get excellent service. The owner is sometimes helping serve guests and keeps the standard of service high, but the staff is also just genuinely attentive and considerate. We love this place!

Tacos Don Francisco is a cozy, no-frills counter-serve restaurant that offers a wide variety of delicious tacos and other Mexican classics until late at night. The place is known for its generous portions and affordable prices, making it a favorite among hungry patrons. The interior of Tacos Don Francisco is small but vibrant, with fun colors, bright red booths, old-timey pictures on the walls, and hanging plants adding to the lively atmosphere.
A small, but well ran and great taco shack. This Tulsa gem doesn’t receive the recognition it deserves. $2 street tacos and sweet service every time I have eaten here.

Someone suggested this for lunch and I looked it up on google. 1700 reviews and still 4.6 stars is great. My experience was 5 stars and now I know why. This was a great lunch with very good food. Corn flautas are the best I have had in Oklahoma. Rice and beans were good. The care taken to present the food was excellent and shows their attention to detail. I will come back and eat again and I suggest you try it out too. 🌮 🌯

Had to go back to Tacos Don Francisco after seeing a video online and try the new location. It did not dissapoint! We tried several of the tacos like the tacos de lengua, asada and tripa and the falor was great! We also ordered the wet burrito with the cheese sauce and that was so good. The chips and salsa and the queso might just be my favorite! Must try! 9.2/10.

This place was the cutest and homiest shop I’ve been too in a while. The food was pretty amazing and I ate all of it which always something new. I had their pork tamales and chicken flautas. 🤤🤤I also bought 2 of their plants which they had to help to donate to children with Cancer ❤️ . Overall the experience was amazing and 10/10 would recommend and will be going back.

Order the Don, steak, with everything. So dang good. I will definitely be back and I'll bring my hubby next time. Rice was a little dry but still 5 stars. Tacos were the main attraction. Sooooo good!

Went to Don Francisco’s for a late lunch and surprised at how many folks were eating there, we thought it must be delicious! Even though they were busy, the service was fast and so friendly! The food was fresh and very delicious! The meat in all of the dishes wasn’t greasy, they tasted fresh, and like each dish was made from good quality meats. My favorite was the gorditas de pastor, but I honestly would recommend anything! You can’t go wrong eating at Don Francisco’s!

We walked in and ordered our food at the front. Staff was attentive and friendly. We ordered the street tacos and they were excellent. Rice and beans hot and fresh as were the limes cilantro and salsa. Food was served hot fresh off the grill. I would strongly recommend this place.

I'm writing this review as a guy who lives in Michigan but comes down to visit friends once or twice a year and I hit this place up at least three or four times every trip. I'll be honest by saying I really only get the burrito that comes smothered in queso with chips but that's not to say the rest of the food isn't amazing, but this burrito is just too good not to order. Plus the horchata is also great and I make sure to get one at least once per trip. Also it's affordable which is nice as well.

Fast food restaurant
Taco Bueno is a delightful fast-casual Mexican restaurant chain that has been serving up delicious meals since 1967. Located in Catoosa, Oklahoma, this eatery specializes in a mouthwatering selection of tacos, burritos, Muchacos, and quesadillas. One of the highlights of dining at Taco Bueno is their self-serve salsa bar, where you can customize your meal with an array of flavorful salsas to suit your taste.
Absolutely disgusting…. And I don’t just mean the food…. Though I couldn’t even finish my meal because it wasn’t even a bit warm and taste disgusting and don’t let me forget to mention soggy… the atmosphere was muggy, musty, and moldy… The people who work here CANNOT be proud to work here…. And whoever owns this place should have there business license revoked… I sat and watched other people pigging out while sitting around black mold and walls that are caving in due to water damage… They either don’t care or live just as horrible… There was gum and boogers stuck underneath the table we were going to sit at…. WOW… JUST WOW……

I am very disappointed to say that the drive thru employee was very rude. I would also like to add that i ordered a large cheese dip and it didn’t come with any chips and when i entered to ask about it the employee said that it would be a different price and that I would have needed to ask for them. Even though they threw in 5 containers of salsa that I didn’t have to ask for or want
Alex C — Google review
This is the worst place I've ever been to eat at. For the last 4 times I went, always through the drive-thru, my order was wrong and I was overcharged. The last two times I went I tried to talk to the man at the window, but always got no response. I thought maybe he was hard of hearing. The last time I went he didn't respond to me I tried to call the business, but every time the phone was picked up it would go to a busy tone. I decided to go inside the store to talk to the manager. When the manager came up, it was the same man at the drive-thru. He refused to even let me tell him my story. He told me he deserved respect. Respect is earned. He didn't care what I had to say. I tried to call the corporate office. The same thing happened with the phone. You can not contact anyone at Taco Bueno. Not even the corporate office. I filed a complaint online. I was told someone would get back with me. It's been over a week and nobody has contacted me online or by phone, which i requested. I used to love Taco Bueno. That was 45 years ago. Now, they have no customer service, and the food has gone downhill, and the building are running down. I will never go back to any Taco Bueno restaurant again. It probably won't matter because I have a feeling they will be out of business soon. So sad 😞

For starters the guy behind the counter acted as if we were disrupting him to take our order Secondly when my asked for a ranch dressing for her salad he rudely snapped at her " it comes with one " Salad had a soggy shell and Bueno burger buns was dry and hard We are truck drivers and drove out of the way and walked from whee I could park down the street only to get food I wouldn't feed my pets WE WILL NOT BE COMING BACK TO THIS LOCATION
Gary R — Google review
The service sucks through the drive-through. The little boy told me today who did not get my order right to start with which I had to repeat three times then I pull around to get my order and pay and he takes my money very rudely no thank you and was upset when I told him the order was wrong. I had ordered a bowl of chili and he wanted to give me chili sauce then he told me that was only common sense. Oh my God I went through the roof at that point I drove off from the window, and I am going to make sure that the headquarters gets to know what kind of people that are working that window I’ve never had a problem There before the food is good, but no young kid is gonna talk to me like that people need to teach their kids how to treat older people any customer this boy is not ready to be working. He has a lot to learn. I will not go back as long as he’s working there!
Debra T — Google review
They left off 3 items from my order. Try to call for 2 hours and the line is always busy. Guess they keep the phone off the hook so they don't have to talk to anyone. Update: it was the catoosa taco Bueno. Was in the drive thru on 8/21 at 5:34 pm. Two party burritos and a chicken potato burrito was missing from the order
Matthew C — Google review
Honestly we should have turned around and left when we walked in, I smelled moldy air conditioner as soon as we opened the door. The counter service was about what I've come to expect from Bueno the last couple years. Every table was dirty so we picked the best one and cleaned it with napkins and hand sanitizer. The food was just not the Bueno I grew up loving. I dont generally do bad reviews but, someone has to or the owners wont know what to fix. I will say the kid filling the ice sat down his buckets and took my to go order as we were leaving. He didnt say anything I could really hear, just mumbled a few things put in my order, picked up his bucket and went back to what he was doing. No total no nothing. I put my card in the machine spat out a ticket and I left as well.
Jenksk9 — Google review
They put a paper on the drive thru window that says no add on to your order which would be fine if I hadn't already requested something 2 times to then make it to the window after waiting in the boiling sun to hear they won't add 2 tacos to my order. What a joke!

Fiesta Cozumel Cantina & Grill is a popular spot known for its sizzling fajita platter, featuring generous portions of grilled beef, shredded chicken, shrimp, onions, bell peppers and tomatoes served with warm tortillas. While the restaurant may struggle with accommodating large groups due to its small size, the staff makes every effort to ensure a pleasant experience. Customers praise the fresh and delicious food, particularly recommending the Chile Rellenos dish.
I would 100% recommend the pollo queso es gas. The drinks were very well made being house margaritas on the rocks. They had a kick and that’s hardly easy to say for an entry drink. The food and flavor was amazing. I highly recommend you pull up here. Owner was friendly and nice it’s very refreshing.

Clean dining. The chips and salsa were pretty good. Some of the best restaurant salsa I’ve had in a while. I had the lunch special chimichanga with rice and beans as well as a tamale on the side. The cheese sauce was tasty.

Saw this place advertising on Fox23 for lunch on a budget. I took them up on it the same day. I ordered the taco plate with 2 tacos, beans, and rice. Complimentary chips and salsa are provided and bottomless. For a beverage I had the Negro Modello. I have 4 stats on the food since I asked for 'Mexican' hot. There really is no salsa heat and the salsa was on the plain side. I want to like this place because it is convenient to get too and we love authentic Mexican foods
Andy B — Google review
It was a good lunch! But, overall it is just an average Mexican restaurant. The table salsa was fresh with a good taste from the cilantro, garlic and onions. The hotter salsa is about the same, except a little chunkier and more heat. Enchiladas Suizas were packed with chicken and covered in a very tasty queso. They came with a small bowl of very good rancho beans Pollo con Queso was also a good. It was seasoned grilled chicken covered in queso. With a chili toreado on the side rounded out the meal. There were only two ladies working at the time and they were having to hustle to take care of the customers, bus tables and manage the cash register at the front. The food came out quickly, after it was ordered though. They have a good variety and fairly priced lunch specials. If you are in the area, give it a try. If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my reviews in my collection "Jalapeno Highway" on Yelp. I've probably been there.

New Years day around 4:30 p.m.. This was my first time there and my last. There was only two other people there eating when we arrived. The menu was badly worn and dirty. Some prices had been taped over with new prices and other prices were not. The sign out front advertises daily specials. I asked what the specials were. They didn't have any specials. We ordered two meals from the menu that were priced $8.75 each. The rice was not warm, the refried beans were bland. When checking out the waitress rung up our meals at $9.75 each. I told her the menu was priced $8.75. She said there was an increase in prices and not all of the menus had been changed yet plus not all of the new menus have arrived. I told her she should have told me there was a price difference when I ordered, that I ordered according to how much money I had on me. I had planed on leaving a $3.00 tip (30%). One way or the other I had planned on spending all I had on me. Since she insisted on the $9.75 I told her go ahead charge what you want we'll see what it comes out to. It cost her a tip by not informing me of the price increase when I ordered or using menus that had all the prices changed. So be wear when ordering. They have handicap parking, push/pull entry doors, its a small restaurant with a bar.

Señor Fajitas is a casual dining spot with delicious and filling Mexican fare. The flautas feature fried tortillas with a flaky texture, while the nachos are packed with flavor. The friendly staff ensures that your drink never runs dry, providing attentive service from the moment you walk in. Despite not being a fancy establishment, the restaurant maintains cleanliness and offers generous portions. Visitors praise the caring owner and recommend Señor Fajitas for a satisfying lunch stop.
Great food! Friendly and welcoming staff. A no frills Mexican restaurant that puts everything into their dishes and not the trappings. Very clean, plenty of seating, easy parking. The staff knew their regular patrons' names. The drinks were always full, chip baskets were full, chips were fresh, salsa was plentiful, and even had a hotter salsa. There's something for everyone on the menu. To be honest, there were too many great choices. Next time, I'm in the Tulsa area. I will be going out of my way to eat there again. The prices were on point. Well worth the stop to eat.

I went with the Acapulco; two cheese enchiladas, one taco, one tamale, guacamole, beans and rice. The good; The tamale was covered with a Texas style chili sauce. It tasted like, well, like Texas chili. The tamale although small was very good! The beans were good also! The average; That would be the guacamole, the cheese enchiladas, and the rice. Cheese enchiladas have no chance of ever being a respected food. It is not the restaurant’s fault. It is just that cheese enchiladas are the most boring food to be found on a plate of Mexican food. It is like a cake donut without and frosting. Why do the make those things. The not so good; The taco. Specifically, the greasy ground beef in the taco. It also had an unusual texture. I suspect that the beef was blended with refried beans. It tasted different than taco filling I have experienced. My wife’s plate of food was similar. A plate of food without any redeeming attributes to draw you back to the restaurant. The service was very good! It is OK food. It just didn’t work for me.

It was very delicious. The staff was very friendly. Every time I needed a refill on drinks they made sure I had one. As soon as we walked in we were tended to. I couldn’t believe the portions. As far as cleanliness goes, I am very happy. It’s not the most fancy place but I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quick stop for lunch.

Tacos were bland, had to add caso and salt and pepper to mine just to give it flavor. Told them no tomato since I'm allergic and my sour cream was set on top of lettuce and it looks as though the cook pulled off the tomatoes and laid down the sour cream which still had tomatoes in it. This is why I stick to what I know I can have.

We recently decided to try Molcajetes based on reviews and fairly close proximity to our home. We loved the festive atmosphere and the food was really good. Food: we shared the Molcajetes platter which consisted of Tilapia, beef, chicken, chorizo, cactus and cheese. While the chicken was delicious, the tilapia was a bit tough and the beef was a bit bland. The chorizo was just right and the butterflied shrimp was delicious. The salsa was delicious and the chips were fresh and crunchy. Service: the service was great, especially given that they were totally packed for Mother's Day. Summary: given that we were there at peak busy time, we are going to try it again at an off time to balance our assessment. Overall, I highly recommend giving it a try!

I wasn't impressed at all just an average Mexican restaurant with a few nags. Salsa is good but served in shot glass size container. My drink had 3 or 4 ice cubes in it; my kids had no ice at all. Service wasn't that great and the taste just wasn't there. The queso dip was nothing special. We had the Consome De Borrego and Hawaiian fajitas. They both we're just ok. The Consome De Borrego was lot of meat, but pretty tasteless. It was a very forgettable experience one of the reasons I leave reviews like this is so I don't make the mistake of coming here again.

The owner Savino tried to make our server pay for our drinks. The chips were cold and the back of the restaurant was dark and dusty. The food was alright and our server tried her best. Overall not a great experience. Edit: That doesn't change the semi-poor quality of the whole experience and the fact you tried to make her pay. The main thing was a miscommunication to the semi-english speaking server, we didn't realize we ordered a regular margarita with house tequila plus a shot, we wanted a top shelf Don Julio margarita. So when it came out we thought the margarita didn't have alcohol and the shot was to add alcohol to the margarita. There was a miscommunication that you tried to make her pay for.

Tortilleria De Puebla is a must-visit in Tulsa for those craving authentic Mexican flavors. The restaurant is known for its freshly made tortillas, which are lightly fried before being served with a variety of fillings such as beef with American barbecue sauce. Despite the noisy tortilla-making machine, the food here is top-notch and worth every penny. Visitors rave about the soft and fluffy texture of the tortillas, as well as the explosive taste of their Menudo soup.
Great Mexican food! The chips are super fresh and the salsa is actually very spicy. I got the 4 enchilada combo for $10, for the price you pay it’s a ton of food. 1000% recommend. You have to try this.

Without a doubt, the best Mexican restaurant in Tulsa. No frills, no problems, just good ingredients (I mean, look at that radish, pepper and lime), cooked well (for a long time), nice people and incredible tacos. The #1, no doubt, no question.

Clean dining and friendly service on my first visit. The salsa is awesome. I orderd the Cocteles de Cameron and four small street tacos (two carne asada and two carnitas) and I had to take three of the street tacos home for a later meal. I would definitely come back and try more items.

I went to buy some barbacoa. They ran out, understandable since I went there a little after noon. I decided to get some asada they were out, ask for a different meat they were out. Finally got pastor tacos, while waiting what do I see but a cockroach crawling down the wall. I quietly told the cashier. And she got someone I assumed was going kill it and no...they got someone else a tiny lady that just did a little dance and went back to work. The roach crawled to mixers that were for drinks. And then near their prep station and very closely to the food I ordered. And to top things off the cashiers were nowhere to be found to give me my order. Never going back there and strongly advise other to stay away. I will be reporting this place to the health inspectors and OSHA truly disgusting

Tortillas and chips are made fresh every day. I bought tortillas, chips, sope, Barbacoa Tacos, flautas and tamales. Tamales were a bit dry and portions for all dishes were very small. We spent an average of 12 per person. Place is really busy on the weekends. Chips here are so good.

Sunny tuesday afternoon, i remember they tore down the building and rebuilt it. The interior design is beautiful. Its a quaint and cosey atmosphere. The painting, and decoration are very estetic of latin/hispanic culture. Food and service always great. Been eating there past 14years. Good hot and mild salsa delivered with the chips; an enjoyable start to the meal. We went with a regular, chicken quesadilla and an Enchilada Combo. The large quesadilla, was served with guacamole, and sour cream on the side. I added a couple of chilies toreados, then stuffed all the ingredients between the tortilla. It needed all that plus salsa and salt to evolve into a good tasty quesadilla. The enchiladas (chicken, beef, and cheese) typical except for the sauce, which was a variation of flavor we had never had. A couple of no chew’ems were in the beef. The beans and rice…. mediocre. Everything was very fresh, attractive on the plate, good portions at a fare price. The food did not resonate with my Mexican food expectations as I had hoped for, but it’s OK. Try it! Large Menu, Beer, Service Adequate If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my reviews in my collection "Jalapeno Highway" by Spike S. on Yelp. The food was really good! The salsa was authentic and had a great flavor to it and spice. I loved the queso and highly recommend it. I ordered Al Pastor and Asada street tacos. They were good, but I think could’ve used a little more seasoning. My only complaint is that the service wasn’t really good. The waitress was nice but not attentive. She talked to a guy the entire time while at the counter and also eating during that period as well. I had to get her attention several times for more chips, salsa or refills. The old food and plates were piled up on carts near the bathroom and had a smell to it. Customers don’t want to see and smell dirty dishes while eating or using the facility. I don’t like reviewing or knocking staff but this place would be 5 ⭐️ otherwise to me. Don’t worry I still tipped well, but you have to pay attention to your customers.

They were also so easy to work with, which made the whole process stress-free. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the food! Great place, my wife got the Super Burrito and I got the Chili Verde Chimichanga. Both were excellent, they serve two different salads, one is nice and spicy the other mild both were great. We will definitely be going there again.

5 Stars all around! The food is absolutely fantastic, highly recommend the Mexican City Tacos. Not only does the food taste authentic and homemade but the time they spend on the presentation really shows here as well! Not to mention the service here is way above average! They take the time to not only make sure you're always taken care of but to actually conversate with you as well If you're looking for some really good authentic Mexican food at a really good price this is it!

Unknowingly walked in right before they closed and still received outstanding service. Literally everyone working there was super friendly and our server was absolutely wonderful. Had the tostada and it was incredible. Also, when you go, be sure to get some of their awesome salsa to go (pt or qrt, I recommend the hot salsa). Will definitely be back soon!

The food tasted as good as it looks!! A cold blustery February day demanded a good hot plate of Chili Verde. This was our second visit to El Fogon. This little family owned Mexican restaurant continues to excel in food quality and service! A couple of years ago, we ate here a straight up 12 noon. The place was packed. What was noticeable then was that El Fogon is staffed sufficiently to crank out their tasty food for the big lunch time crowd. We had the Carne Asada and the Green Chili Burrito. Both excellent! Today’s visit was the Chili Verdi and an Enchilada & Chile Relleno Combo plate from their dinner menu. The Chile Verde was a large plate of filling, warming, delicious authentic chopped pork stew in a fire-roasted green tomatillo sauce. The huge combo plate was one ground beef stuffed enchilada topped with white sauce and one poblano pepper filled with cheese & topped with tomato ranchera sauce. Both meals came with rice and beans. Very flavorful, nothing bland on these plates! The salsas here are very good too. The red tomato based salsa has a little bite to it from the peppers, with garlic, chili powder and cilantro. The other sauce is a roasted pepper/tomatillo. Enjoyed them both. The service here is very good. The restaurant’s motto is “Everyone is Your Server.” They are true to their motto. Regardless of which waitress passes your table they will check on you! If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my reviews in my collection "Jalapeno Highway" on Yelp. I've probably been there.

Too the wife and kid here for lunch. Fresh chips and amazing salsa. I got the street tacos each with a different meat (Carnitas, Asada) and every tasted super fresh. Wife got the Taco Salad and had to take home half it was so big. My kiddo is very picky and had tacos with just meat and cheese and said it was the best he ever had. My only complaint is being so close to other people while eating. My wife gets anxiety and we would have preferred a booth where we weren't so close to two other tables essentially touching elbows. Other than that everything was fantastic. Will definitely return.

The shrimp burrito I had was delicious. And, the waitress was great. Checked on us & kept our drinks filled. On a recent visit, I had a chicken enchilada & chili relleno. It was delicious.

The service at El FOGON was top notch. You can tell their customers came back because they were treated so well :) Our meals were great, but I personally was a little disappointed in the chips and salasa... my wife loved everything, maybe my taste buds were off for a day, will try again because the service was impeccable :)

Restaurant
Dos Bandidos, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, offers a diverse menu featuring appetizers, tacos, traditional dishes, bowls, fajitas, enchiladas, quesadillas, burritos and more. Many of their offerings are gluten-free and come from family recipes. The restaurant has received praise for its red tacos and flavorful sauces like green salsa and habanero sauce. Customers have also enjoyed the birria red tacos and margaritas at this vibrant spot in the Rose District.
What. An. Experience. 🙌 We walked in thinking we were just there for a Bloody Mary… but we were so not ready for the full-on flavor explosion and good vibes that followed! Let’s start with that drink — it came with a taco (yes, a taco with your drink!), and we went for the shredded beef. Juicy, flavorful, and honestly could be its own menu headliner. And don’t even get me started on the cinnamon roll… warm, gooey, drizzled with Nutella — absolute lip-smacking perfection. Dessert for breakfast? Always yes. Peggy was an absolute gem — fun, friendly, and gave us top-tier service like we were regulars. The artwork all around added so much personality — the whole place just oozes cool. We’re already planning our return trip. Tulsa, what are you waiting for! If you haven’t been yet, go treat yourself! You’ll thank me later.
Danni — Google review
Bloody Mary was salty and delicious. Cup of queso is perfect size for 2 and creamy. Salsa is fresh. Seemed understaffed, but probably because of it being post-holiday season. Would 100% come back, the menu has so many good things to try and the happy hour seems great.
Jordan F — Google review
Wish they still had a location in Tulsa but I understand why they moved. Had the seafood nachos, street tacos and margarita flight. Great authentic food and the best margaritas around. Downtown used to have live music and great atmosphere. BA is friendly and clean with good options. Would definitely recommend the margarita flight.

Got the Al Pastor combo and it was so good! Will definitely be back. Our server was also super nice and gave good suggestions for us to try!
Kristine V — Google review
I had the lunch enchiladas, one shredded beef and one chicken with rice and beans. There was a bonus grilled half jalapeño added to my plate. It was all very good, I’d definitely get it again. My son had the real crunchy tacos, two shredded beef and one chicken. He preferred the beef and thought the chicken lacked flavor. That was not the case for my enchiladas. Salsa was flavorful, but not very hot. We asked for a hotter one, which was brought to us. It added the kick we wanted, the chips were crispy and perfect for dipping. On a side note, our waitress was working alone and did an amazing job. Zaltana (waitress) handled every table well, even making drinks for several tables. At the time we were there, eight tables were occupied with at least three people per table. One table had seven. Big shout out to Zaltana for handling everything so smoothly and efficiently…with a smile!

I want to start off by saying the server was great and did her job well I understand she doesn’t make the food. However I feel like the kitchen needs quality control or something. I ordered the vegan burritos with cheese. And I got a 70% onion burrito which was pretty disappointing. (Pictured was not even all the onions since I ate some too) I expected for it to have plenty rice, beans, and the meat substitute. But I got plenty of onions and no guac as it should’ve came with. I asked for guac from my server and got it right away but just disappointed when I want to support restaurants who offer vegan/ vegetarian options and what I get is not worth the price. Do also want to mention my dad did like his meal and the chips and salsa are pretty good!

We will definitely be coming back and trying more even though there was a couple disappointing things about eating here. Our server was very kind and the decor inside is cool, I'm sure it's a very fun place at night. My wife got hard shell Shredded beef tacos and I got ribeye and shrimp fajitas. The fajitas were very flavorful but for 22$ you're getting 5 shrimp and about 9 pieces of steak, it was very flavorful but I'd appreciate more meat for the price. My wife's tacos were flavorful but a little dry and one of the 3 tacos only had meat on one side, so half a taco was just shell and cheese. The chips and salsa are delicious, and while there were some disappointing factors we enjoyed our meal. Very excited to come back and try new things and hopefully edit my review to a 5 :) EDIT: came back and it's easy 5 stars for us now. The vampire birria tacos are an explosion of flavor, you almost don't even need the consume that's how good it is. I thought my wife's tacos were okay but she absolutely loved them. Will be a new favorite spot for a while
Tristen N — Google review
This place is a great addition to the Rose District. Good food, great drinks, wonderful staff - all in all a fantastic place to have dinner on a weekend night. I had the birria red tacos and they were quite good. The consome was delicious and the tacos themselves were tasty. The street corn was okay, and unfortunately the rice left a lot to be desired, but it was a good meal overall. The margaritas are absolutely worth showing up for. I had a frozen watermelon margaritas, and it was fantastic. My wife and I have had the margarita flight before, and we thoroughly enjoyed it, so if you are a marg fan, this is a great place to go. Overall, the food is good, but not mind-blowing. The atmosphere is fine, with chairs that could be a fair bit more comfortable, and the staff is excellent. Definitely a recommendation if you find yourself in the Rose District.

Mexican restaurant
El Sombrero Mexican Grill & Cantina is a delightful spot that promises an authentic Mexican dining experience. Upon entering, guests are warmly welcomed by friendly staff, setting the tone for a pleasant meal. The menu features delicious offerings like fresh guacamole and smooth flan, complemented by complimentary salsa served with crispy tortilla chips. Diners rave about the quick service and flavorful dishes, including tasty fajitas and sweet tea without lemon—just how they like it!
This is our first visit and I have to say it's delicious. We've lived in BA for almost a year and we are always saying we need to stop in. So glad we did today!!!
Crystal H — Google review
I ordered the fajitas and my wife ordered the shrimp enchiladas. To say the food was bland is an understatement. I could see the onions and peppers but they tasted like nothing. The rice and beans tasted like nothing. Not even bad, just nothing. The waitress was nice and the food didn't take that long to get, but we went at 330 in the afternoon. For the price I would recommend going another couple blocks south to speedie's or mambo's. We won't be back to this place.
Adam H — Google review
Great prices, friendly staff and pretty good fajitas. The queso was a bit runny and the guacamole was not the best, but I will definitely be going back!
Austin F — Google review
Saw the place on groupon so decided to try it out. Food was decent, but nothing special. The regular salsa was fairly bland, but they will bring you a spicier salsa if you ask for it. The burrito I got was huge, but was a bit bland as well. Someone else with me got the shrimp which was probably the best thing at the table(and I'm not a huge shrimp fan). And someone else got the fajitas which also where a bit just underwhelming. Not awful for the price with the Groupon though I suppose. If you go, I would recommend trying somthing with the shrimp for sure.

We where greeted at the door. Angel is awesome..we felt very welcomed. Food was great will be back..

This place gets two stars instead of one because the drinks were delicious! The food is lacking flavor, very bland. I almost used half of the salt shaker just to get some seasoning and flavor on the refried beans. It was fast seating and no wait time during lunch rush. The service was friendly and fast.
Deborah S — Google review
This is a great Mexican Food Restaurant! It's food was wonderful and was a great customer service oriented experience for my wife and I. After taking our order we received it at our booth promptly! Did I mention they have awesome chips and sauce? Well, they're great! We'll definitely be back often!
David M — Google review
I decided to give this place a try. I was greeted immediately by a smiling friendly lady. I always order sweet tea NO lemon. A lot of places add lemon. The waitress brought my chips and salsa within 1.5 minutes of sitting down. My tea “without “ lemon was brought shortly after. My lunch order was hot and delicious and brought to me very quickly. The place was half full but wait staff was attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. The food had a very good flavor. My first time here, but I will be back!
