Beach
Playa Hermigua is a serene and unspoiled shoreline where the rugged blue waves of the Atlantic Ocean meet the rocky coast. Despite strong currents, it offers a peaceful setting with picturesque views of mountains, a charming hamlet, and plantations. The beach provides stunning views from the western mountains but may appear run-down near the shoreline. It's an ideal place to experience the powerful ocean in relative solitude.
A beautiful view, sea and nature.
Pavla Š — Google review
Very quiet beach with little facilities. I went swimming with my brother and the waves were a little strong. Not the best place to swim, but a wonderful experience if you're a good swimmer. Seems to be a nice spot for surfers too.
Varpu V — Google review
If you are traveling with Van you won’t find any bathrooms here. Also, the sound of the ocean is a bit too strong was really hard to fall asleep. Better go to La Caleta — quieter and 10 times nicer
Elena E — Google review
It’s pretty rundown and not great for recreation.

Stunning views from the mountains to the west, but looks run down and depressing when you get to the shoreline.

Scenic spot
Mirador de Abrante is a popular tourist attraction in La Gomera, known for its breathtaking panoramic views and unique glass-floored walkway. Perched on the edge of a cliff overlooking Agulo village, this viewing platform offers visitors the sensation of floating in the air as they gaze out over the stunning island landscape. The restaurant at Mirador de Abrante serves a variety of local tapas, international cuisine, and Canarian dishes, all while providing fantastic views.
A place with beautiful views of the ocean and the neighbouring island of Tenerife. In good visibility you can see almost 60km away. The glass bridge of the viewpoint, which is a tourist attraction, or rather the glazing is unfortunately not maintained and so the view is better outside this area. The viewpoint is accessible daily from 10:00 to 16:00. Outside these times the barrier from the crossroads on the access road is closed.
Lukas C — Google review
This iconic glass cantilever lookout is high above the picturesque village of Agulo. You can experience the stunning views and the beautiful panorama all around and across the ocean to the island of Tenerife, where the peak of El Teide volcano is clearly seen.
Radka T — Google review
An interesting place with a beautiful view of Agulo, the ocean, and Teide. We had wonderful weather. Surrounded by red sands. There’s parking and a restroom, but no bar.
Julia Z — Google review
Awesome view over the N-E part of the island! The entrance and the parking are free of charge. If you arrive here, go for a little walk right next on the red little hills.
Stephan B — Google review
Mirador de Abrante, is free to enter, 620 meters above sea level with a seven-meter-long glass walkway with breathtaking views of the north side of La Gomera and mount teide
Fun S — Google review
This is very difficult to get to without a car. However, if you can get there, it's well worth the experience. We went on an incredibly windy day and we could feel structure being slammed into by the wind. It does give fabulous views of tge Town of Agulo below.

So cool. A little scary if you are afraid of heights but so beautiful

Impressive viewpoint - but the true magic is the crazy romantic Martian landscape surrounding it! By all means do not miss out on taking an hour or two to explore it. Unforgettable, one of the most special terrains on La Gomera!

Really beautiful gardens with lovely views! Ideal with young children. It's a pity the restaurant only opens at 1:30 pm

It’s ok, we were told is free but is not, they have some history there that is nice to read and see but I will not be disappointed if I would have skip it. You walk a bit around a garden also and they provide with audio guide that’s quite nice and it has a nice view

Super interesting especially if you want to learn about the culture and this beautiful island. Cost 15€ per person including a nice little tapas to try afterwards. The shop is interesting as it has alot of handmade things and has the syrup which you will hear about on the tour 😊👏

This is a great spot. Cafe with good vibes. Local produce. Great restaurant. And small farm / museum. Highly recommended

This is a real experience to do in La Gomera! It has a beautiful garden full of fruits that grow in the island and gives, through the audio guide, the history of the faune in La Gomera. The personnel is very kind and the restaurant as well is very well (nice dishes with local ingredients, a bit pricey for the location but not for the quality) In summary a must do if you are in the island

Historical landmark
Pescante de Hermigua is a historical site in La Gomera, showcasing the island's past with its davits used for loading and unloading boats. The area offers stunning views, but swimming can be dangerous due to rough seas and high tides. Despite the risks, efforts are being made by locals to reopen and secure the area. Visitors are advised to admire the impressive remnants of the industrial engineering work while exercising caution around the natural pool due to strong waves.
Very beautiful vew on the ocean, and pleasant place for a swim.
Maciej C — Google review
Waw, this place has a strong Genius loci. It's nice walk ( just a few minutes), not possible to go there by car because of the possible rocks falling down. We have visited this place when there were huge waves and it was spectacular.
Helena H — Google review
I’ve been swimming here several times with great pleasure. It’s a fantastic experience. But this video illustrates that the tidal bath (Pecante de Hermigua) can be very dangerous - yes even deadly - too. Only five minutes before this video people were still swimming in the pool! So you can dangerously be caught by surprised. Chat GPT advised me that high tide would be the safest time to go into the pool, but to my humble opinion I think it should be low tide, as then the sea level doesn’t reach the pool. Please have yourself well informed by locals and be careful and warned at all times.
Gus M — Google review
Swimming was perfect today but I can imagine that it is very dangerous here with a full moon tide. Lots of signage and a red flag to advise you not to swim, so you go in at your own risk. However this is an interesting historical site and a beautiful place to chill.
Jill L — Google review
Unique location easily recognisable from a wonderful TV series Foundation. But what is even more interesting is the history of this place. We came later across very interesting old photos of this location and that got us even more interested to dig deeper into its past
Maciej S — Google review
Spectacular swimming pool filled by sea water. Quite a walk and slippery rocks make it an adventure of sorts. Only go in when locals go. Dangerous rocks in the open side.
Xavier L — Google review
The views are amazing from Pescante de Hermigua. I can definitely suggest to do a walk up to the place. However, I would not advise to go swimming for unexperienced people, as the sea can get pretty rough and the waves reach into the natural pool.
Adriana S — Google review
A beautiful place. If you want to swim here, you should check the tides. During high tide it is very dangerous to swim in the pool. I myself got some scrapes and bruises because I underestimated the waves. Fortunately, I was not pulled over the edge of the pool into the open sea. Later I heard in the village that people have already died there this year. There is an initiative by the people of Hermigua to reopen the place and make it more secure. It would be wonderful if this could be done one day. (The video is not from the day I was swimming there)

National park
Reventón Oscuro is a stunning section of Route 18 that winds through Garajonay National Park, offering breathtaking views of the island of La Gomera. The 16 km circular trail takes hikers through an ancient laurel forest adorned with moss-covered trees that glow in the fog. While challenging, the hike offers diverse paths and beautiful vistas, making it a must-do for nature enthusiasts.
Nice hike parallel to the road, the forest is amazing and there are some great viewpoints!

You can join route 18 which will lead you to the mountain village of El Cedro. It is about 2 ml to the village through a laurel forest. Not difficult route. Ultimately, your reward for your effort will be a fantastic meal at Restaurant Camping La Vista. I recommend. I was there in January 2017.

When exploring La Gomera, a trip to Garajonay National Park is an absolute essential. This breathtaking destination boasts the world's best-preserved laurel forest, where you can wander through enchanting paths lined with streams and marvel at the intricate interweaving of trunks and branches. Although some trails may be closed due to safety precautions during high temperatures, the park's stunning vistas make it worth a visit.

Plaza Victoriano Darias Montesinos, located in Valle Alto, is steeped in rich history and cultural significance. This area was once home to the church and convent of Santo Domingo, which served as a vital spiritual hub for the community. In contrast, Valle Bajo saw the establishment of the church dedicated to Lady of the Incarnation around 1650. These pivotal constructions not only marked a shift from Guanche settlement to colonial enclave but also showcased a fascinating fusion of indigenous traditions with European influences.

Outdoor Activities
Playa de la Caleta is a small stony beach with a picturesque rocky coastline. The weather can be unpredictable, and the road leading to the beach is long, narrow, and in poor condition. While swimming may not be advisable due to rough seas, it's a lovely spot for picnics with waterfront tables and sunbrellas. The beach offers basic amenities like toilets, showers, and changing rooms. However, caution is advised as heavy waves make swimming unsafe for most of the year.
It's a nice beach with a friendly cat who seems to enjoy visitors. The cat was begging for food, and I noticed his food someone had left for him had gotten all wet from the rain. If you happen to see him, please change his food if its wet. The food is next to the toilet
Thomas M — Google review
Great beach! Perfect for a stop with a van. You have showers, toilets, barbecue area and cute cats running around
Elena E — Google review
This is a very rocky beach with a difficult path to get there. Rocky roads and sometimes there was not enough space for two cars. There is enough parking and tables for picnics. Not recommended to swim or to go with kids. Wheelchair access or parking is not available. We just spent 20 minutes and left. There are better places to visit on the island. Not recommended overall.
Fraus L — Google review
Nice beach but not suitable for swimming. You can do a walk (ruta del azucar) that starts not far from there. Has parking.
Tom D — Google review
Very nice beach, amazing scenery. When we were there, the weather was very bad, so I can’t say anything about swimming. However, one thing to be aware of is that the road there is very long, narrow and in bad shape (There are many places with steep drops and no guard rail, sharp rocks have fallen onto the asphalt). If you are uncomfortable driving on bad, narrow, roads, you should avoid this place.
Martin B — Google review
Beautiful place. Toilets! Not safe for swimming most of the year. Local feastdays explain the picnic seats and shade. Sadly cafe no longer in use.

Absolut beautiful little pirate bay. The sea is too rough to swim (at least when i was there), but it is a lovely place to spend a day. There are sunbrellas and patches if sand, several tables with seating. And the route to the beach is spectacular in its own right.

Roques Pedro y Petra, also known as the Roques de Pedro and Petra, are a natural wonder located just a short 20-minute drive inland from the picturesque village of Hermigua. According to local legend, these rocks were formed from volcanic activity and are said to be two lovers turned to stone and separated by lightning. While they can be seen from various points, getting up close for a good photo may be challenging due to steep and narrow access.

(Translated by Google) Small museum of objects and way of life in La Gomera in the last century. We loved dealing with the responsible girl, very nice and pleasant. She offered us the option of watching some videos of the Gomero whistle, something very curious for the peninsular people, the extraction of palm syrup, how they do it and some customs that we did not know. The exhibition of objects and materials is very curious, all with their explanations of what it was and what it was used for. It is clean and has wheelchair access.

Scenic spot
The Mirador del Rejo offers a captivating panorama, making it an ideal stopping point. However, it is also worth noting that the lack of visibility can create an eerie atmosphere. This scenic spot provides a unique and intriguing experience with its stunning views.
Oddly chilling when there is literally no visibility.
