The Western North Carolina Air Museum, situated less than three miles from downtown Hendersonville, is a must-visit for aviation enthusiasts. It proudly displays an impressive collection of historic airplanes, along with models, photographs of pilots and aircraft, engines, and flight manuals. Housed in two airport hangars, the museum is staffed by passionate volunteer pilots who are eager to share their stories and answer visitors' questions.
I can't say enough about this place! There were so many full-size airplanes, small-scale/RC airplanes, airplane memorabilia, and information packed into this building/hangar! The gentleman that was running the place was so knowledgeable about literally everything!! They do not charge an admittance fee. They do everything and stay open solely on donations and gift shop purchases. Please make sure to donate or purchase items from the gift shop to help keep the place going!! You will not be disappointed at all!
Alana K — Google review
This was a great museum to visit and the volunteers/docents were excellent and so thoughtful. They were especially kind to our kids. It’s great for kids too! Our littles had so much fun exploring the planes.
Susanna O — Google review
This was such a cool place. My son is obsessed with airplanes and this absolutely hit the spot! There are two planes to actually SIT IN! Admission is free but they take donations. We will definitely be back!
Alissa G — Google review
Excellent hidden gem! Close.to town and interstate! Worth every moment of small detour. Run to this place do not walk. Such great aviation and history gems. Very unassuming building is a treasure chest for the eye and ear... so much packed into this space.. a must do for a couple hour journey back in time!
Frank L — Google review
Cute place off the beaten path hidden in a neighborhood. Admission is free, but donations are welcome as that is what keeps the museum open. The gentleman who first greeted us was very funny, helpful, and informative. I could see and hear another man getting a thorough tour and explanation. All aircraft with the exception of one has flown and could fly again. Very cool. This is the first air museum I have been in where I have seen oil trays with sentiments coming out of the aircraft. It makes it quite real feeling. If you’re in the area, I would recommend a stop here.
S L — Google review
A hidden gem of a place! Perfect for plane fans both young and old. Free to enter but donations are accepted. It is run by incredibly kind and knowledgeable volunteers. We brought our plane-obsessed 2 year old and he was so excited to sit in an airplane. It backs up to the Hendersonville Airport and we were able to watch a small plane take off while we were there.
Kaitlyn A — Google review
This is a free museum with lots of planes and information. Some of the planes are originals and some are reproductions. They are not open every day, so be sure to check the schedule.
Ellen C — Google review
Been visiting them for years! Took my children when they were little, they really loved seeing all the old the planes. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I just went back through for the first time in awhile. I love the displays and the information on aviation available. A must visit!

Great place! Super nice staff and great pinball machines. Spent about 6 hours playing and still couldn’t get enough. If I’m ever going to be around this area again, I’ll gonna stop by.

What a cool place! Stopped over 4th of July weekend on the way to Asheville and could spend tons of time here. Great staff, super cool location. $13/ all day play with snacks, beer, soda and seltzers for purchase $5-7
Erin R — Google review
What an awesome place! I visited as part of a work conference but this place is well worth the $15 admission for unlimited play! The nostalgia factor alone was fantastic! Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, too!
Sylvia R — Google review
This place is awesome! My 11 yo grandson and I had a blast. There is a wide range of machines across the years. I loved playing the old 70's era machines. My grandson tried put almost all of them. I especially liked that with the wrist band we could come and go all day if we wanted. Will definitely be back.
Laurie 2 — Google review
Such a great place to visit. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the pinball games!!!…what fun. Many old machines that took us back to our childhood Friday nights out. Be sure to visit.
Peggy B — Google review
Love this place! We always bring friends and family when they visit us in Hendo. So many games to choose from and the staff is awesome!
Angela — Google review
Great selection of games that are hard to find anywhere else. They serve beer too. Really great selection of Williams games. They do maintain their games better than most average free to play arcades, but I was expecting a little more quality considering they are a pinball museum. The Who's Tommy machine had it's play field angled at almost 0 degrees for example. Why?
M V — Google review
Super fun afternoon! Played some really great pinball and even some old school arcade games. Qbert was just as fun as I remembered. Super clean and super friendly staff. They have drinks available including beer. Absolutely worth the price of admission!

Elijah Mountain Gem Mine And Crystal Store is a beloved spot located just a short distance from downtown Hendersonville. Visitors of all ages can experience the thrill of gem mining, immersing themselves in the role of prospectors from the 1800s. The mine offers both outdoor and indoor water flumes where you can sift and pan for various gemstones such as rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and amethysts.
We had a great time even though it was pouring down rain. I believe we interacted with the owner she was amazing and was really helpful. We found some huge rubies in our bucket. We got the Honker tub and it was worth it we have some huge rubies we can make into jewelry. My son also bought some of the hand made knives and I got a coin for my father’s collection. I was upset I didn’t get to play with goats because it was pouring, but the chickens and a peacock came right up and stayed next to us on our bench which was awesome! A great time for all. We got to interact with some wonderful families as well. The store was well stocked and they had a huge clearance going on right now as well.
Rebecca B — Google review
The absolute perfect place to take your kids! What kid doesn't love rocks? But gem mining aside, there are chickens and goats, as well as play area in the back. Oh, and dinosaurs. There was a delicious Mexican food truck, and we saw them open the bar though we didn't have anything to drink. Spent almost 3 hours here and enjoyed every minute! Also really enjoyed looking through the gift shop.
Megan G — Google review
My little boy loves gem mining and this is our favorite place in the Carolinas. We always find lots of beautiful gems plus my son loves the play area and watching the chickens and other birds.
Quietta J — Google review
We had a great day at this gem mine! The kids loved using the sifting pans to find gems. They also loved the playground and feeding the goats. The owner was very helpful and knowledgeable. We bought some beautiful geodes in the gem store. A very nice experience.... Don't miss it if you are in the area!
Cynthia M — Google review
The 3 small bags on the right are what I paid $119 The large bag bags on the left are I paid $100 for at Pisgah gem mine. +3 huge clusters, And three geodes which I paid a lot less for.l plus 3 more bags of gems. Sometimes the trip matters when you have more invested employees that are willing to teach and show people instead of just taking their money …I went to Mount Elijah thinking it would be a good experience as per trip advisor and left and drove 20 minutes up the road don’t waste your money on Mt Elijah… it’s a tourist trap. As an avid gem collector, you can buy everything in their gift shop online for cheaper… The two young men working at Pisagh gem and mine were very interested and eager in teaching young children and anybody about The gems that they were finding …. And that made all the difference in the world. Compared to Mt Elijah, where they were only worried about your credit card… They took time with my granddaughter… taught her about gems , wrapped her finds that she wanted and cracked her geodes for her …. Kudos to great customer service and to the 2 young men working there today!!! We willl be back at Pisagh in the future
Natalie T — Google review
This was the best gem mining experience we've had! Best buckets we've mined anywhere. Four of us came home with Ziploc bags filled to the brim with large gemstones. Filled one Ziploc with tiny stones too. The goats were sweet and enjoyed the being fed. The exotic birds were cool to see. We chose to use the indoor flum and a chicken visited us, the kids thought that was just the greatest thing. Staff was extremely helpful and polite. Prices were really good. You can definitely make a 2-3 hour visit at this place if you take your time mining and enjoying the outdoor areas afterwards. We will absolutely be going back!
Stacie W — Google review
If you love gems or fossils or minerals and panning then don't come here you will spend alot of money and be absolutely happy my wallet would disagree but the kids and the wife thoroughly enjoyed it great place to stop for the family they also have some animals like goats and chickens still disappointed i couldn't buy the jackalope mount definitely stop by here and have some fun
Lewis K — Google review
First, my child loves dinasours and gems. So, they got it all here. Next, the experience is Priceless! When we got a geode on our bucket, (they cracked if for free) my child looked like she won the lottery! If you have a child that loves rocks, don’t go anywhere else! Don’t even buy the nat geo gems.. Just go here! We came here 30mins before closing and we had fun! If we were here longer, i might have spent more than $100 willingly lol. Aside from the gem experience. The store has a lot of things to buy!!!! We will definitely be coming back!

The Mineral & Lapidary Museum in Henderson County, North Carolina, is a fascinating destination for those interested in the earth's treasures. Established to educate and inspire visitors about the diversity of the underground world, this museum showcases a wide array of exhibits featuring polished gemstones, raw mineral specimens, dinosaur displays, and meteorite collections.
I LOVED seeing all the gems, fossils, arrow heads, etc! I am going to come back when I don't have a 5 year old trying to show me everything so that I can look at each artifact and read the cards and spend time enjoying everything! We bought a couple of geodes, gemstones, and a grab bag! I highly recommend the little grab bags for $1!! I wish I had gotten more. I use gemstones in craft projects, and there were some good ones that I can't wait to use! Make sure to buy some goodies from the gift shop or leave a donation. There is not a fee to get in. The only way they stay open is from purchases and donations.
Alana K — Google review
Such a great place to learn more about rocks and minerals. Knowledgeable staff
Tabatha L — Google review
Such a cool little museum. Beautiful rocks, fossils and Gemstones. You can purchase a Geode and have it cracked while your there. We enjoyed it.
Momma K — Google review
The Mineral & Lapidary Museum of Henderson County is located in Downtown Hendersonville. Admission is free but they accept donations. Paid parking is available on the street. The museum is located in the basement so stairs are required to access the museum. The museum is on the smaller side but I was quite impressed with the collection and variety. The fluorescent exhibit is near the entrance, so make sure you check that out as it is a great educational demonstration. There are gems and minerals from the area and the world. There is a gift shop as well. It is a great place to visit and explore.
Rebecca M — Google review
Hidden away and small but very interesting and the volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable. Entrance is free, but you can buy a geode and have it cracked on site. $20-$49.. supports the place.
Martyn B — Google review
The geode cracking is so cool and the museum has one of the best and cleanest mineral displays in Western North Carolina
Sean P — Google review
Wonderful place to visit! Took our daughter here and learned so much from the people working. They made it a memorable experience for us! Would highly recommend
Ruth A — Google review
I would highly suggest anyone visit this museum if they have any interest at all in rocks and minerals or fossils! This has been my go-to stop for a rock and mineral shopping haul for two years since I finally discovered its existence (long overdue)! The volunteers are always so friendly and helpful. They are knowledgeable and passionate about the exhibits and they are very kind about helping you with any purchases you make while at the museum. There are so many things to see here although the museum is small so please don’t be discouraged by the appearance of the room when you first enter! Take in everything! Each piece is incredible in its own right and they really take pride in everything they display. Also… you cannot beat the prices here. I LOVE buying way too many rocks and minerals for my own good because I know I’m getting an absolute steal. So take the trip, take a chance, whatever you need to do, it’s worth it to go into this museum!!!

A must see if you have a little one! We went during a time where they just reopened for play and they were reaching out to help those affected by Hurricane Helene which was beautiful to see. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful there. Our daughter had SO much fun, we probably could have stayed hours. The Publix supermarket was a huge hit! Came from Montreal and had a great time, will visit again when I’m in the neighbourhood.
Melissa B — Google review
10/10 The hands on Publix grocery store with the deli counter was awesome! The Lego build-a-car and racetrack was cool too. My kids were entertained for several hours. We actually left for lunch and came back for more.
Oscar R — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of activities within this space. It is a perfect place for kids to explore and imagine. I would say it is appropriate for any child ages 2-10 but is entertaining for all ages. My son and I especially loved building and racing Lego cars and he is 10. The hurricane simulator was also a big hit!
Angie R — Google review
Our two girls loved their time at this museum, which should tell you everything you need to know. There are a lot of different exhibits, each of which fosters imagination and excitement in kids. I was impressed at how much they've packed into a relatively small space, and with how organized everything was. The owners and management here truly care and it shows.
Jonah B — Google review
Fantastic interactive play n learn space for kids. I remember seeing this space being featured on Blippi episode. Went here during a weekday afternoon so there wasn’t a big crowd here.
Greg K — Google review
It's a small place but there is so much to do! Both kids loved it! We spent 2 hours here. It's a pretty cool place to explore!
Kassandra S — Google review
So much to experience! Our kids are 5, 8 and 10 and we spent a solid 2 hours chasing them around and watching them try out everything today. A lot of the exhibits were meant for younger children but my 10 year old still enjoyed the craft room and theater room. Great time!
Michelle O — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised with how great of a job this Children's Museum does. Our kids loved it. We spend two hours there and we could have spent many more. Lots to do and big enough that it never feels particularly crowded in any one spot. All toys and displays are clean and high quality. We really enjoyed it and will be back!

The Apple Valley Model Railroad Club, located in Western North Carolina, is a popular tourist spot housed within the historic Hendersonville Railroad Depot from 1902. The club's HO layout spans 22 feet by 100 feet and showcases a picturesque western North Carolina mountain setting. Visitors can explore a Southern Railway caboose and various railroad artifacts while children can enjoy an interactive exhibit featuring Thomas the Tank Engine.
Our visit to the Apple Valley Railroad Club was fantastic! The train exhibition was impressive with various scenes. My son loved the interactive fair/carnival area, operating the trains, and spotting familiar buildings in the replica of downtown Hendersonville. The attention to detail made our visit memorable and enjoyable. The employees are nice and helpful.
Mariz L — Google review
Pros and cons, I'll start with the pros. The trains are fantastic, the layout is visually appealing. Multiple rooms with trains winding in and out of the mountains and towns, it's fun to watch the children's faces light up watching them. Roughly half of the staff are warm, friendly, and seem to genuinely enjoy sharing their knowledge. Now, for the cons. The other half of the staff are crass, cold, and seem to not have the temperament to be around children or intellectually disabled people. We have been coming here for many many years and donate at the little box every single time, however, we took a break for about two years because we had a bad experience and my autistic son forgets nothing, ever. So we decided to try again today, and while I saw some fresh new faces as well as some of the original faces we know and love, some of the others were unfortunately still there, still rude, still insensitive, so this might just be a destination we have to cross off our list. It's sad because like most autistic children, my son loves trains
Shelly C — Google review
What a great find. These guys did an excellent job. 5 rooms of model trains representing key features of the area. If you are here on Wed or Sat, you need to visit. And it's free!

Awesome, Bob was so kind he walked us through the facility and explained the layout, modeling of the near by towns from Asheville through to Saluda and beyond. Spectacular place and a real gem!! Helpful folks were able to help me with research questions, but they’re super fun and we’re so welcoming to everyone who came in. Admission is free but I would encourage anyone who visits to leave a donation to make sure they continue to keep this great place going for many more people to enjoy. For train lovers this is a must-see.

No matter what your age, you have to stop in and see all the trains at the old depot in Hendersonville. Downtown Hendersonville - Main Street Program is a historic area listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The street is adorned with planter boxes filled with seasonal flowers and benches, creating a charming atmosphere. Visitors can explore a variety of shopping options, specialty stores, galleries, museums, an aquarium, and numerous dining establishments. One of the highlights is the annual Apple Festival during Labor Day weekend, attracting over 250,000 people with its abundance of artists, food vendors, and apple-themed delights.
I am so glad we stopped to see your downtown. The bears are adorable and a great addition to your city. The only thing I would say as a suggestion is not to charge for parking. We travel all over America and many large cities give you at least 2 hours of free parking.

The Apple Festival is always held during the Labor Day weekend (Friday through Monday), which falls right in the peak of apple harvest season. Over 250,000 people attending this was a huge event. So many artists, food, and apple vendors. Loved the parade! I'm always excited when I find good food and sweets. We went Saturday - Monday and tried different foods Saturday we tried the hamburger with fresh cut fries loaded with onions, beef, cheese from Pop's ...yum! Sunday we found the Paris Festival booth we finished the night with some amazing apple bread pudding, apple beignets, and a funnel cake 😋 On Monday, we finished the festival with The Mother Shuckers corn 🌽 booth food was excellent 👌 the corn on the cob was amazing and the chicken skewers 😌 and iced tea

My family did a Fall Foliage Road trip and spent a day visiting downtown Hendersonville. We stayed at the fantastic Featherstone Lodge in Hendersonville, and downtown was a short drive away. Walking around Main Street was a wonderful experience. I loved the shops. We went into several shops and they all offered such lovely and different things. The shops were excellent when it came to having Covid precautions in place. There was a tea and spice shop which carried a spice I having been searching for, and which also serves a large variety of teas. I got a chai. At one of the restaurants we had a fried catfish sandwich that had a vinegar based coleslaw on it, along with pickles. It was amazingly delicious. Everyone in the shops were so helpful and friendly. We did but a few things. I really enjoyed strolling around downtown Hendersonville.

Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards is a family-owned winery located in North Carolina's Henderson County, boasting the distinction of being the first commercial vineyards in the area. With a history spanning over nine generations, this picturesque vineyard offers visitors the chance to sample from its selection of fourteen grape varieties at their Tasting Room. Guests can savor their wines while taking in breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyard from both indoor and outdoor seating areas.
Our first time visiting we stopped in before our New Years Eve party and this place did not disappoint. The wines are absolutely delicious, both the whites and the reds. The V was by far our favorite! The staff was friendly and engaging. They have a variety of cheeses, meats and crackers at very reasonable prices along with free plates, napkins and knives. It was to cold but there is an amazing outside seating area. We recommend it as a must do for your winery tours!
Douglas A — Google review
Great winery, great atmosphere outside close to the vineyards, very friendly staff. They had a food truck or bring your own. Sat and listened to some nice music. Much nicer place than some of the other big wineries close by
Janet S — Google review
The services and atmosphere was top notch. The lady that helped us was very fun and helpful in learning how each wine was made. You will not go wrong with ordering the flights because I enjoyed every single one of them.
Gloria — Google review
Nice experience sipping wine out on their patio on a weekend. There was even some nice live music being played by "3 Shades of Gray" It was PACKED with people, so it was hard to get service... They told us to sit at a table for table service, but then nobody was coming outside, so I ended up going in and ordering directly, and that did the trick. The wines were decent (we liked the Queen red blend), though a little more pricey and not quite as good as the ones we had at Biltmore. Worth a visit, if it's not too crowded!
Matthew G — Google review
Had the dry white sampler, super delicious wines and very cute little spot. We stopped on a Thursday just after opening but I would bet this place is super lively and fun on a weekend evening.

We ordered food from the food truck and it was very good and we ate our food and no one ever came back to take our order. We watched people all around us be taken care of. We sat for about 30 minutes and decided to leave. I’m sure the wine was tasty but never got a chance to try it I guess they forgot about us. Venue was nice and they had live music but disappointed no one took our order.

Small and intimate vineyard with lovely vineyard views. Delicious wines and harmonic music for a mid-summer afternoon.

My search for the dry red wine ended here. The atmosphere was incredible and the wines were amazing. When I pictured good red wines this is what I pictured. Plus the bottle prices were pretty reasonable. Definitely need to stop here if you're out on the weekend looking for wineries. This is a must stop on your list for sure

History Museums
Step back in time and immerse yourself in the rich history of Henderson County at the Henderson County Heritage Museum. Housed within the historic courthouse, this museum offers a captivating journey through the area's past. With six rooms filled with exhibits, visitors can explore artifacts and displays that depict significant events such as the Civil War, the arrival of the railroad, and various 20th-century wars.
We took a guided tour of this museum, which was surprisingly large. Lots of cool history here, and some fascinating exhibits (the train diorama is next-level). Check it out; it's free!

Really nice displays that are educational and will give you a lot of background on the history of the area.
Joe B — Google review
The Henderson County Heritage Museum is located inside the Historic Henderson County Courthouse in downtown Hendersonville, NC. The building was constructed in 1904 and is a classic revival style. Admission to the museum is free, but they do collect donations. I only explored the first level of the building, but there may be more exhibits on the upper floors. More signage would be helpful. The museum covers local history and military history. They have artifacts and uniforms of all the wars. One room is dedicated to the area's railroad history. The model trains were not working when I was there, though. There is a memorial to "Big Jim", the world's largest pig. Back in 1941, the pig weighed 2415 pounds and was four feet 8 inches tall and ten feet 8 inches long. If you are in Downtown Hendersonville, this museum is worth a visit. There is a small gift shop as well.
Rebecca M — Google review
First off, it is handicap accessible. And it was free to view. It had an interactive telegraph station and lots of military displays. Did you know there have been and still are lots of summer camps in the area?
Anne T — Google review
It has a wonderful walk throughout self guided tour, staff is friendly volunteers who are proud of their towns history and military service. Price is free and even has a wonderful little gift shop

Helpful folks aided me in my research, helped me identify a lead that led to a big breakthrough I was looking for for months. Great displays, good collection of books in gift shop, and knowledgeable folks.

Henderson County Historic Court Museum is THE place to explore local history, artifacts, southern architecture, and more. Some interesting notes: 🍎 Hendersonville, (AKA: Hendo) NC is a top producer of apples in the USA 🐖 The area's largest pig weighed in at over 2400 pounds 📖 Documents (US Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc) are viewable on display outside the museum and general admission is free (donations acceptable).

Golden dome! The kids chant every time we drive past, nice museum, small kids might want to bring a step stool as all the displays are too tall. Lots of local history and they host great events downtown. Thanks y’all.

Aquarium & Shark Lab by Team ECCO in Hendersonville, North Carolina, is a unique inland aquarium that offers an educational and family-friendly experience. With over 275 marine creatures including fish, invertebrates, reptiles, and salamanders, visitors can observe the fascinating life cycle and behavior of sharks and rays in a 2,000-gallon tank monitored by interns.
We stopped by on a Saturday, and the adults and kids had a great time. They feed the animals at 1:30, so plan to be there during that time. All the staff members were very kind and answered all our questions. This place is more than just an aquarium - check out their website for all their offerings.

This lab is Amazing!! The staff are very nice, helpful and engaging. We visited to see the famous pregnant stingray Charlotte & she was really cute. It’s amazing to witness her journey. We enjoyed the other displays; the axolotl salamander, baby box turtles, bearded dragon & tortoise. We are already planning our next visit!

Let me start by saying that I truly appreciate having a place in Hendersonville where both adults and children can learn about reptiles, amphibians, fish, and other aquatic creatures. The concept is wonderful, and I want to see a facility like this succeed. That being said, the negligence and lack of knowledge regarding the health of some of the animals is heartbreaking. During my visit, I observed a clownfish and an urchin in wall tanks whose conditions made their survival unlikely without immediate intervention. I sincerely hope they have since been removed and treated appropriately. It is clear that some of the staff members genuinely care for the animals entrusted to them and are doing the best they can. Unfortunately, it also appears that the owner(s) are unwilling to invest in the proper equipment, resources, and training necessary to ensure the animals’ well-being. I hope that moving forward changes can be made to better prioritize the health and safety of the animals, because this facility has the potential to be an incredible educational space for the community.

Absolutely wonderful experience for my kids! We got to see one of the staff hand-feed sharks. There are dozens of fish and reptiles to learn about. The owner was friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back!
Clare C — Google review
While small, this aquarium had a neat collection of fish and other animals. We happened to visit during feeding time, which was enjoyable to watch. The staff was very knowledgeable. It seemed a little expensive to come in, but I get that keeping this stuff up costs something, so I'll cut some slack.

I will admit that I was a bit skeptical about this place at first. But like they say, "don't judge a book by its cover." This place was absolutely phenomenal. The staff are all very very educated and well versed on the animals there in the aquarium. The owner is also very educated, friendly and very involved with continuing education for herself and her staff. This truly is a hidden gem!!!
Kristina T — Google review
This place is so fun. The staff is friendly, passionate, helpful and knowledgeable. The whole family loved our visit. They have a few sharks which were awesome. They have many reptiles and fish. Each exhibit gave information about the animals and their natural habitat. The owner is passionate about conservation and education. We were so glad they were still open during this uncertain time.

In addition to their quality beers, the brewery hosts various events such as Mountain Music Jams, singer-songwriter nights, open mic nights, trivia nights, and NFL Football on Sundays.
One of the most fun breweries I’ve been to in a long time. The brews were delicious and the vibe was on. Definitely a must if you’re in the Hendersonville area. Cheers🍻!

On our recent visit to Hendersonville, we stopped by this brewery to enjoy some Octoberfest-style music and beers. The beer selection was excellent, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. There was plenty of seating both inside and outside. The staff were friendly, walking around and chatting with patrons, which made the experience even better. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

What a cool space in Hendersonville. Great vibe. No hate. ❤️ And fantastic beers, especially the Hop Pig and Ancestral Recall we took to go. And thank you to the daytime bartender for outstanding service and some insight on the town. I highly recommend!

This is by far the best beer I have had since I have been in North Carolina. We make it a point to try a few breweries in every place we visit. We have been all over North Carolina and this beer is worth the four hour drive from our house. We went home with cans of every beer we tried. Give this place a try you will not regret it!!

Had a nice stop & sip afternoon here. Trolley stop for Pub tours. Nice selection of beer & met one of the brewers. Everyone was so friendly. Posted beers tasted on untapped & will say a couple of really good beers her - no bad beers & selection of food & other drinks for the non-beer persons with you. Going back to Hendersonville, one day soon & want to go again.

Such good beer! Had a DIPA and loved every sip. Great venue and absolutely loved the selection of board games and getting competitive at code names. Left and went to dinner and came back later and man how the venue changed into a live rock concert! Seems to offer whatever atmosphere you're looking for

Cute little brewery right off the main street. Nice variety of beers on tap, lots of indoor and outdoor seating. And if someone in your group isn't a beer person they did have lots of other options. I did a flight then had one beer. Flight is a tasting of any 3 drafts. Hubby had a stout and said it was very good. Not a lot of parking but we found a spot about 2 blocks away & it was an easy walk. Unfortunately the kitchen isn't open on Sundays so we didn't get to try that, but we did get takeout from a nearby local place that the bartender suggested. We will defiantly be back here next time we are in the area.

Postero is a casually elegant bi-level restaurant in Hendersonville, offering New American cuisine and craft cocktails. The restaurant features worldwide flavors prepared by experienced industry professionals who chose Hendersonville for its pace and quality of life. With options like Curried Sweet Potato Bisque, Baby Kale Caesar Salad, and Baby Bok Choy with miso and butter, the menu caters to vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets.
Sarah was our server. Super sweet. Delicious food. My parents raved about this place, but it was my first time. Holy smokes. I like that the menu changes frequently. We got the chips and whipped Gorgonzola dip, cured pork fig dip with pickled veg (wouldn’t order again), crab & corn app, mac & cheese, steak, shrimp pasta dish and the apple dessert. They had non alcoholic wine and beer, which as a pregnant lady, I get excited to see on the menu. 10/10 will return. The green goddess salad was simple but good too btw.

Consistently fabulous! We have been multiple times and we are so grateful to have such a wonderful restaurant in Hendersonville. The food is always super fresh, very creatively prepared and we loved our server Becca because she's so attentive-- and has the knowledge to can explain the preparation of any dish. (Tip: The cherry crostini appetizer is addictive). We love the lively atmosphere and open kitchen. We truly appreciate the owners-- a calm, chef husband and wife who are a joy to watch. ( How do they always seem so unflappable?!) Thanks again for a great offering of dishes, appetizers and desserts.

Postero offers a refined dining experience in Hendersonville, with a focus on quality ingredients and elevated presentations. While the menu is quite limited and expensive, the dishes they do offer are crafted with care. We started with the tuna carpaccio, which was beautifully presented but unfortunately missed the mark. The sauce was overpowering-so dominant that it masked the delicate flavor of the tuna entirely. A more restrained touch would have let the star ingredient shine. The small BLT salad was a nice follow-up: crisp, fresh, and balanced with smoky bacon and a flavorful dressing. For the main course, we had the chicken large plate, which was the highlight of the meal. The chicken was perfectly cooked-juicy inside with a great sear-and the accompaniments were thoughtful and satisfying, making it a hearty and well-rounded dish. Service was okay, but not particularly memorable. Postero still delivers a strong dining experience overall. If you're looking for a creative, high-quality meal in Hendersonville and don't mind a limited and highly expensive menu, it's definitely worth checking out.
Mike W — Google review
We started with the Brussels sprouts and they were phenomenal. Crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, they set the tone for the rest of the meal. We also ordered the mosaic plate which was a creative twist on a traditional hummus plate. Instead of hummus it had an eggplant base that was smooth and delicious, a great change of pace. For mains, I had the chicken and my wife had the ribeye. The chicken had a nice crispy texture that I really enjoyed, even though it leaned a little dry. The risotto served alongside it was absolutely immaculate, creamy and rich, the kind of dish you remember long after the meal. The ribeye had good flavor, though a little fatty, and it came with fries and a salad which made it a complete plate. We finished with the tiramisu and it was the perfect ending. Light, decadent, and beautifully balanced, it was so good that both of us agreed it elevated the entire experience. The food overall was creative and flavorful, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere made the evening enjoyable from start to finish. With dishes like these, especially the risotto, Brussels sprouts, and tiramisu, this place earns five stars without question.

During our vacation in Hendersonville, me and my wife decided to go out to eat at Postero one evening. Our reservation was at 7:45 and with the restaurant closing at 8:30, we were nervous the staff would be quick to serve us and try to rush us through our dinner service. We were seated upstairs and had a beautiful view of the kitchen and the outside street. Our server, Mrs Shannon, was extremely professional, explaining the menu clearly and efficiently while bringing out drinks and food in a timely manner. She described to us how she had worked there for over 10 years! Wow! What dedication! For our starter, we ordered the Chips and Dip. The house made BBQ potato chips paired well with the Gorgonzola Mousse, something I was originally hesitant to try. For main dishes, I ordered the Steak Frites while my wife ordered the Chicken. I asked for my steak to be cooked Medium-Rare and it was excellently prepared and tasted amazing. My wife’s chicken had amazing depth of flavor and was not dried out at all. Our personal favorite from these dishes were the Frites that came with my steak, they were well seasoned, crispy, and had the perfect temperature. For dessert we decided upon the Appalachian Tiramisu and the Dark Chocolate Pot De Crème. Both were exquisite and well prepared. Overall with a tip we spent around 170$ but the entire dinner, from service to flavors was phenomenal leaving nothing to be desired. If you are ever in Hendersonville and want an excellent evening dinner service, look no further than Postero.

Postero – A Must-Try in Hendersonville! 🥗🍤 We stopped in for lunch and were blown away. I had the salad with chicken — unbelievably good and officially in my Top 2 of all time! Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly done. My wife ordered the shrimp scampi and called it “unreal” — I snuck a shrimp and totally agree! Flavor explosion. Postero nails it on taste, presentation, and atmosphere. We’ll absolutely be back next time we’re in town! 5 stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ #Postero #HendersonvilleEats #FoodieFavorites #LunchGoals

Enjoyed a great evening and meal at Postero. State of with the chips and dip. Chips are crisp and flavorful and the dip was light and creamy. I had the grilled pork cup with sweet potato mash and griddled broccolini. It was all cooked and seasoned perfectly. Finished the meal with the maple pecan tart with vanilla bourbon ice cream! The only thing that would have made it beget is if it were bigger! It was the perfect size for a dessert, I just could have ate a lot more of it! And the service was great too.

The eatery offers a mix of eclectic and traditional dishes with something for everyone on their brunch, afternoon, and dinner menus. From salads to worldwide appetizers, sandwiches to a variety of dinner plates like Thai Curry Beef & Scallops and Steak Frite.
I'm actually surprised this place isn't rated higher. Our experience was phenomenal from start to finish. The staff was exceptionally friendly. It was quite busy on the weekend so for sure recommend a reservation. My favorite items were their croquettes with ham and pimento cheese. Omgness so good. My husband is from New England so very picky about his seafood. He had their mussels and was pleasantly surprised with their flavor and quality. Definitely get one of their cocktails that highlights their house made ginger beer. The Dark N Stormy was a treat. Also...their creme brulee. Yes, please!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Shine tonight (a Friday night). We were a party of 7, and we sat at a high-top near the kitchen. The food was delicious, service was excellent (thanks to Jarret), and the atmosphere was vibrant but not too loud. Everyone enjoyed their food. We had the Shrimp & Grits, Sweet Potato Ravioli, Blackened Grouper Sandwich, and the burger. We would all order them again. I'd highly recommend!

We ate on their patio. We had very prompt service. Shine was recommended by a local shop owner. I got a grouper sandwich with slaw on the side. It hit the spot. Hubby got the Bahn Mi sandwich and a side salad. He enjoyed his sandwich. The inside of the restaurant look cozy and inviting.

We tried Shine in Hendersonville for the first time as a family—my boyfriend, our toddler, and I—and unfortunately, we won’t be returning. We had driven in from out of town, about an hour away, hoping for a great meal and experience, but left disappointed. Our experience started off decently. Our waitress seemed very knowledgeable about the menu, which she had memorized. But as the meal went on, her attitude changed noticeably. My boyfriend waited an unreasonably long time for a refill while she stood behind our table chatting with other staff. He had only eaten half of his sandwich and needed a drink to finish it, but instead of checking on that or offering a refill, she asked if he wanted a to-go box. When he responded that he’d like a refill, she brought it back and slammed it down on the table with clear attitude, and was short with him the rest of the meal. Her name was Naomi. As for the food: my boyfriend said his French dip sandwich was just okay, but the fries were great. I had the heirloom tomato salad—which was amazing in flavor but too small for the price—and the oysters Rockefeller. The oysters were clean but disappointingly small, and the portion (6 oysters for about $20) felt underwhelming. My son had a grilled cheese with fries and fruit, which he enjoyed. However, the restaurant only serves drinks in glass mason jars with no lids, even for toddlers, which made things a bit tricky. We also tried two desserts: the banana pudding (a featured special) and the crème brûlée. The banana pudding was a huge portion but had almost no sweetness. My son (who loves banana pudding) wouldn’t eat more than two bites, and his dad didn’t care for it either. The crème brûlée was decent, but the style was off. It was very deep with minimal brûléed sugar on top—more like a pot of custard than the classic dessert we were expecting. The custard was fine, but the caramelized sugar is the star, and there just wasn’t enough of it. Our total came to around $120 for two adults and a toddler, and we ordered from the more affordable end of the menu. For that price, we expected something a lot more memorable—in a good way. While there were a few positives, the service and portion sizes just didn’t justify the cost. We were really hoping to love it, especially after making the trip—but sadly, we won’t be back.

Stopped here for dinner after visiting Hendersonville for their apple festival. We loved this place! The server was so nice, delicious cocktails (not pictured), and great food! From start to finish, everything was phenomenal. Angel was my server, and he did a fantastic job recommending dishes to try as well as wine and beer pairings. Unfortunately they were out of Bulgagi, so I tried the Steak Frite instead. Quite frankly this was one of the best steak dishes I've ever had. And the French wine paired lovely. I had to twist my own arm just a bit to try dessert. But the creme brule was so creamy and tasty. You've got to try this place!
Chris H — Google review
My wife and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. The overall atmosphere was great and the service was great as well. The food however was lacking flavor. We got the pretzels as an appetizer and they were really good, the beer cheese was hot and tasted great. My wife and I both ordered the ribeye, and there was no seasoning at all to the steaks. And we are not people who typically go for heavy seasoning but some sea salt and pepper would have added a lot to the steaks. The cuts were really good cuts and they were cooked perfectly, the flavor was just bland. With the steaks they serve mashed potatoes and a vegetable, these were pretty good, but definitely could have used a bit more seasoning or even some salt (there was none on any of the tables) My wife also ordered a Mai Tai and it was so heavily poured she couldn’t even drink it. I tasted it to see if she was over reacting and it did taste like straight rum. The biggest surprise though was when received our bill, a “non-cash” charge was added. This just isn’t the sort of thing you would expect to see from a higher end establishment, but rather a Chinese take out restaurant. While I did not catch our servers name, she was great, very attentive and even got the manager to remove the glass of rum from our bill even though we had not asked for this to be removed.

While known for its breakfast and brunch options, Arabella also offers a selection of sandwiches and salads for lunch until 3 p.m. Their latte menu is particularly noteworthy, making it a popular choice for locals seeking coffee or a delicious meal.
Cool atmosphere and service was good. The home fries are amazing! I would’ve loved the breakfast sandwich I got, but they need to let people know they put Italian seasoning and that’s all I could taste. Overall this place was really good.

We enjoyed our breakfast. The atmosphere is lively. Our server was very nice, but service was very slow. Make sure that you have enough time to wait. The food was tasty, but it would have been better if it was hot. We ordered an omelette, the recession which had eggs, grits and toast. I added a side of bacon. We also ordered the French toast which had good flavor. The vanilla latte and snickers lattes were good. The regular coffee was very average.

Neat place with a welcoming atmosphere and very friendly service. The food was good — you can tell they put care into their menu. Great location in downtown! We were able to sit at the bar without a wait. Excellent service! The chai was delicious!! Hubby had a grits bowl and I had the Farm Fresh omelet. They were both outstanding! Hubby said his was “deceptively filling” - a good portion. What a great spot!

Brunch/lunch kind of place. I got a simple breakfast of eggs once over easy, biscuit and grits. Hubby got Huevos Rancheros. The tea selection had all natural ingredients with unique combinations of spices. It’s a popular place, so expect a little wait. Ours was only 5 minutes.

Great place for brunch — even the lunch and breakfast menus have a wide variety of options! I noticed a nice mix of Hispanic and American dishes, which gave the menu a unique and flavorful twist. The plates are very generous; portions are big, so come hungry. The food isn’t oily at all, which I really appreciated. The service was warm and welcoming — no complaints at all. The atmosphere is decent, but sitting on the patio is a whole experience. I really enjoyed sipping coffee while people-watching; it was so relaxing for me. I was only able to take one picture because I was so hungry and the food was so good, I completely forgot to take more! Highly recommend this spot.

Lovely garden that is well maintained. There were some damages due to Helene but it still looked pretty good. Lots of volunteers were there to cleanup and maintain. We went during winter so not much was flowering but it was still very nice. The plants are all marked well. Nature trail was nice too. Good size parking lot. No fee to enter but donations are welcome.

I wish I could give more stars! I will definitely be coming back with the rest of my family! There was so much to see, and we didn't allot enough time for this stop, so definitely coming back when we have more time to stay. The people working there are very nice and helpful. The bathrooms were clean. The gift shop had a good assortment of items to purchase. There were potted plants for sale, I bought a milkweed for my butterfly garden. We were there when the fairy garden was set up, and it was absolutely amazing. I got so many ideas on what to do for our own fairy garden when we get our pond done. The flowers were stunning, pretty much all the plants were labeled. It was just beautiful!

She came away with a bunch of ideas for future plantings. Definitely check this place out!

Bullington Gardens is an amazing place to visit. I tried to get there before the rain then held off as the showers and storms started earlier but after the rain stopped I decided to make a stop and am so glad I did. It is a peaceful place to walk through and admire the beauty. There is no admission fee but they accept donations. I didn't see anywhere to leave a donation there but found a link on their website. I knew some areas would be closed because of Helene but forgot which ones while I was there so I am sure I missed some areas as I didn't want to go in those areas so that just means a return visit. I loved the different sections and all the different types of plants and flowers. Nature offers its magic and lets you forget about everything else. I highly recommend visiting this gem in Hendersonville.

This place is great for kids and adults who love to imagine and believe. The trails are all very well shaded so it is a cooler walk than the actual temperature. The bathroom is a well maintained porta potty with hand sanitizer available. The identification of plants and trees on the path were great. The Nature Trail (Not the Fariy Trail) is a steep decline and incline but leads you to a beautifully clean and clear creek. There is also a small gift shop that sells; tee shirts, fairy wings, small garden markers, plants, snacks and more. Everything I there was reasonably priced. It is free to visit, however donations are very much appreciated to help to maintain. Walking through here you can tell it is a labor of love. Really well done and a great way to spend a morning or afternoon.

Historic Johnson Farm is a well-preserved 19th-century tobacco farm situated on 15 acres of land. Located in Hendersonville, North Carolina, this historic site was gifted to the community by Vernon and Leander Johnson and is now owned by Henderson County Public Schools. The farmhouse, built between 1876-1880, is considered the oldest standing brick home in Henderson County.
Lovely and well kept farm. Nice staff. I loved learning about the family that left the farm to the school system. My 3-year-old daughter loved the goats and mules. We didn't make the 10:30 tour so we didn't get to go inside the farmhouse so we will return another day.

Mandy gave us a tour of the house and another smaller building on the property. She was very nice and we learned a lot about the history of the farm and the house! The ladies in the other building were weaving and nice to show us what they were working on which was cool

My husband and I had the opportunity to tour the Historic Johnson Farm. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed all of the stories that she had to tell us about the house and it's inhabitants. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas. I would definitely recommend a visit 😁

I was there for a Hospice appreciation picnic that they presented for their volunteers. I found the atmosphere of historic Johnson farm to be just that, a relaxing and enjoyable step back in time and space. The buildings and furnishings are preserved in their original motive, and you get the feeling of actually walking back in time in a very pleasant way, and yet not off the beaten path from beautiful Downtown, Hendersonville. .

My daughter took me to the Historic Johnson Farm Candlelight Christmas. What a gift! Having grown up in Henderson County, I was instantly took back to my childhood and reminded so much of the years gone by. The authentic way in which the house has been preserved makes it such a wonderful treat to see. The tour guides shared such heartfelt stories, it was apparent that they were invested in the farm and its rich history. The Christmas decorations made an inviting and charming atmosphere. I appreciate the fact that we have such a place here in our county to enjoy. I look forward to returning again to other events that the farm hosts. A job well done by all who contributed.

Lovely place to visit in Henderson County. Free unless touring the house. The tour is $10 for adults and $8 for kids over 5. The tour itself is quite extensive for the price. Thank you for the experience ☺️

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our day at Johnson Farm. We learned how to make lye soap, spin wool, shear sheep, weave cotton, make dump cake, and make hand thrown pottery. We watched a blacksmith at work, learned the history of the house, learned about the one-room school house, and watched some lively clogging teams. There was face painting, corn hole, ring toss, corn husk doll making, hay rides and much more! This a wondetful leaning experience for the kids! Oh, and good food too!

Met my husband there in 1949, married in 1954, widowed in 2019 and have supported their renovation efforts since. So blessed to have known Aunt Sallie, Vernon, Leander and Etta. Even have the recipe for her delicious chocolate pie and crust.

It offers a casual setting and serves a variety of dishes including wood-fired pizzas, pit-cooked BBQ, panini, and burgers. The restaurant has garnered positive reviews for its diverse menu and relaxed atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy a continental breakfast at the nearby Mountain Inn & Suites Flat Rock before heading out to explore the area.
Yum! I'm in Flat Rock for the state beekeepers conference. We decided to give this place a try. Man what a good choice! I had the BBQ pizza and it was awesome. Melissa was our waitress and she was excellent and very patient. 😎 We will be back. And if you're in town you should stop in. You won't be sorry.

Food was just ok. I got the pulled pork platter with sweet potato fries and Mac and cheese. I also got a rib for an appetizer to give it a try. I think it was the winner of the whole meal. The meat was so tender it fell right off the bone and the flavor was perfectly smoky. I had it with the spicy bbq sauce. The pulled pork was ok. I might not have enjoyed it as much as I would have if I were hungrier. This place was right next to the hotel I stayed at (walking distance) so it was convenient for a quick meal. The staff was super friendly.

I am going to leave as honest review as I can, and it's based on personal experience and preferences. The Brisket plate came with a small to medium size serving of brisket slices neatly arranged with two small bowls containing my sides and cornbread (cake). The Brisket was very tender, not very moist but you had a choice of 4 sauces, I found the Bold Sauce to be my favorite with just a hint of heat on the backside. Sides: The potato salad was fantastic! Absolutely loved this non mustard mix (and I do love mustard too). Mac & cheese was a flavorless soup, elbow noodles in a cream type sauce that had no discernable flavor (salt & pepper to the rescue). Cornbread (cake) is an absolutely non southern style and sweet as yellow cake. Good but should be offered as dessert. Service was good, very nice waitress and good relaxing atmosphere. Would I go back? Absolutely, want to get more of that potato salad!

My wife and I ate here today while returning home from a trip to Asheville. It looked really crowded when we arrived about 2:00. I had a difficult time finding a place to park. I checked with the hostess and was surprised she could seat us right then. Our waitress took our order right away we were eating within 10 minutes of arrival. I ordered the pull pork sandwich with sweet potatoe fries. They were pretty good, although no where near the best I've ever eaten. My wife ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs with potatoe salad and corn. I tasted the ribs and agreed with her they were ok, but certainly not the best we've ever had. Maybe just a little over cooked. There was only 1 rest room and both male and females were lined up to get in. We both passed on that! Overall the food was ok, although a little over priced. The service was very good and the atmosphere was ok.

My boyfriend and I stopped here after doing some fall activities with our two fur babies. We called ahead and made sure they had dog friendly patio. They did. When we got there we noticed it was a little crowded (great sign right!!!) so we asked if we could sit at this little table away from everyone. We know not everyone is dog people and we didn’t wanna bother anyone. They were so accommodating and let us sit there away from everyone. The server was absolutely amazing! She was soooooo sweeet! (Will update when I find the receipt with her name) but the fooooood was soooooo good. I got the pulled chicken plate with fries and Mac and cheese! Let me start off and say this was the BEST Mac and cheese I have EVER HAD! They also give you a piece of cornbread and well and that corn bread was sooooooo good! The entire meal and experience was hands down the best. It was the first time we have been there but IT WILL NOT BE THE LAST!! We live 2 hours away but every time we come up that way to do mountain activities we WILL stop there! If you’re in the area you must stop here!!! 10/10 recommend! 💙

Young lady behind the bar is an asset to the business. Friendly and excellent company. My apologies, I kept calling her Deborah, but if the business would, please provide this review with her name. She deserves to be recognized. Again, excellent atmosphere, food and service.

The food is always great here. Some items are overpriced in my opinion (8.99 for a side salad). They have outdoor seating and dogs are welcome. Our favorites are the bbq, cornbread and pizzas (wood fired). Its a great stop for when you aren't sure what you are in the mood for because they have a little of everything. They have a nice variety of salads as well.

We recently stayed in Flat Rock, NC, for a family reunion. Several family members selected Flat Rock Wood Room for lunch between activities on a Thursday afternoon. We chose to eat on their porch. Our server was the same person that seated us when we arrived. She did an excellent job during our entire dining experience. She was quick and accurate in both taking and delivering our food selections. My daughter is a vegetarian, and she ordered the Veggie Panino (Fior di latte mozzarella, roasted onion, roasted green pepper, roasted egg plant, Roma tomato, and arugula) with a side of chips. My wife ordered the Fork and Knife Sandwich (Pulled smoked pork piled on house made cornbread and topped with shredded cheddar cheese and competition BBQ glaze) with a side of baked beans. I ordered the Brisket French Dip Sandwich (Horsey sauce and provolone cheese) with a side of Collard Greens. Many of us added barbecue sauces to our food from the many selections available on the table. Everyone in the group was happy with the flavors of choices we made. If our Saturday evening dinner was not also barbecue, we would have returned again on Saturday to have lunch at Flat Rock Wood Room.

Italian restaurant
Nestled in downtown Hendersonville, NC, Mezzaluna Brick Oven and Tap House offers a sleek and contemporary dining experience. The inviting atmosphere resembles a rustic Italian trattoria with the aroma of freshly baked brick oven pizzas filling the air. While their specialty is pizza and cold beer, they also feature a variety of Italian flavors on their menu.
Good food and good portions. I had the chopped salad and Alfredo and it was delicious (but I did add some salt and pepper). The staff is great. The atmosphere is a bit loud inside (good for kids that make noise but bad for those who are hard of hearing). There is also outdoor seating where you can sit under an umbrella and watch folks cruise Main. (My food was almost gone before I remembered to take a pic...it was good!)

I think I've said this before, this is a restaurant for tourists. The menu needs upgrading to match their pricing. Huge disappointment and definitely don't go hungry. Pictured are two $20 plates. While the lasagna came with a very small salad it measured approximately 3" x 3.25" x (almost 2") compare this with other local places and you feel like your wallets been raped. Don't get me wrong the place isn' t all bad. Nice atmosphere and great beer selection. For a $20 plate, maybe some kind of garnish was in order. Sadly I will never set foot in this place again.
James R — Google review
Excellent service from Courtney! Really enjoyed the mussels. Surprisingly, the pasta was kind of bland. Could not taste any garlic, very little parmesan added on top. I coaxed a little flavor by adding some salt. The restaurant is very cozy, with a variety of seating arrangements, including outside. We will be back, at least for the mussels
David E — Google review
The staff is very welcoming and warm, they receive us (a big group) and made us feel very good. I got the vegetables pizza but honestly the lasagna was way better, you can’t go wrong with that!
Esteban B — Google review
“It’s all about the cheese.” My reply when my friend asked me what makes this place so great. I started with the Caprese, and it was just wonderful. In particular, the mozzarella had actual texture and flavor. Too often I am subjected to amassed “dairy”; globular masses that lack distinction, texture, flavor, or taste; either they make the cheese themselves or source it locally because this is among the best mozzarella I have ever had at a restaurant, including Manhattan. The basil? This time of year? Not a hint of licorice for those of you who have had the experience of late harvests that you won’t even touch because it will ruin the dish. Same for the tomatoes, sliced thin, because they are so fresh and good they don’t need to be layered on to make up for the other ingredients; they are a flavor, not a filler. Manicotti for the main course, and again, the cheese. What caught my eye is the use of goat cheese in the filling, wow, spot on, not at all overwhelming, present, and brings out the essence of the remainder of the “stuffing”, c'est délicieux. The tomato sauce was just that, a compliment, not an overwhelming marinara. The tiramisu goes hand in hand with the entirety of the dining experience; each ingredient speaks for itself while acknowledging the others that bring it to your palate in all of their individual distinction and glory. Well done, thank you, I look forward to dining with you all again.
James G — Google review
So… I’m struggling with this one a bit. I want to give them more stars, but I just can’t. Here’s the story. Party of 7 and we were promptly seated. The service and atmosphere were good. The food was hit or miss all around. Really good mashed potatoes and house made fettuccine. The spaghetti and meatballs left a lot to be desired. The meatballs were very average and sauce was very watery. The bruschetta would have been great if they used a better quality mozzarella. The one they use is the stuff you’d find in a supermarket wrapped in the plastic. Dry and tasteless. The pizza was okay. The Ahi Tuna portion was way too small for the price. Also mains came out… server asked is there anything else? And well yea, the apps we ordered. They did apologize, but apps ended up coming out as we were finishing our mains. Also an Italian restaurant that charges $5 for rolls is a first. Overall underwhelming experience. Probably won’t be back.

-0 where to start? We came in a group of 4 celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday. We were standing in the host stand for 10 minutes to get acknowledged. Finally the host came over and sat us with menus. We were ready to order and no service for 20 minutes until we flagged down Heather acting manager on duty. She took our drink order and came back stating the cherry cider wasn’t available. Then we ordered appetizers the peepers and crab cakes. Finally she came back stating that the peppers were sold out and the crab cakes were soggy. We ordered the mozzarella moons. We ordered a calzone and chicken parmesan that was good. I ordered the coconut shrimp and risotto. The risotto was so hard I had tooth pain. The coconut was burnt. The fettuccine my friend ordered was had no taste. This was informed to Heather and she took it back and the kitchen had closed so I stayed without a meal. The staff had closed down and lights off. I asked Heather to at least to save the day to get a tiramisu for my husband and she declined. We have been customers for 11 years. This is unacceptable. I need the owner Courtney to contact me.

With an 80-year family tradition, Burntshirt Vineyards crafts unique high-quality wines available at their Hendersonville winery and Chimney Rock tasting room.
Great night out! We stopped at Burntshirt Vineyards and had a wonderful respite from our trip as well as a great time! We chose it for the outdoor seating, live music and wine flights- oh and they serve amazing food too! Beautiful scenery, indoor and outdoor seating, very laid back- guests were dressed in an array of clothing types- from sundresses to shorts and sweaters. Our waitress was a wealth of solid information about the wines and food. We chose their signature burger and fish and chips. Perfectly done. The table over got the roasted beet salad and I was tempted to ask if I could try one! Great choice and gamble. They also have a gift shop and a craft shed.

We wandered in on a Sunday afternoon on a holiday weekend. We got there just after opening. We first went into the tasting room to look around and Leslie gave me a sample of the Estate White wine. The interior was spacious, well decorated but not cluttered. The outdoor seating areas are lovely with nice views. We went over to the restaurant and we were greeted immediately and Angelique was kind enough to show us around when we inquired and then seated us at a comfortable table. My partner ordered the Reuben sandwich and I got the smash burger. Our meal was served hot and piping and promptly. Both were tasty. Angelique brought me samples of different wines. They were all good and I left with a bottle of the Estate White. We had a comfortable and relaxed dining experience and watched quite a number of people who came in. Many folks seemed to be local customers who appreciate a lightly upscale but casual environment. All seemed to be enjoying the wine. I was amused by the tea towel rack. There were some cute and funny ones. I like tea towels for myself and gifts to others because they don't take much space and they travel well. I will go back, and I'm saving the Estate White for my book club in two weeks!

We recently visited Burntshirt Vineyards for lunch while in town celebrating my birthday. The winery itself is very cute, and we enjoyed the live music, which added a nice touch to the atmosphere. I did the red wine tasting—while the selection wasn’t really my style, I did particularly enjoy the Petit Verdot. For food, I ordered the Caesar salad, but unfortunately, the dressing tasted more like mayo than a classic Caesar, which I wasn’t a fan of. Others in my party ordered the fish sandwich, which they didn’t care for, and the fish and chips, which they said were just okay. Overall, while the setting was nice, the food and wine didn’t quite meet our expectations.

Wonderful place, attentive staff. Food was amazing and the wines were quite good. We had Gigi as our server- such a pleasant, helpful, professional person. She is a gift! Had Brussels sprouts, goat cheese fritters, Cajun pasta, and pumpkin maple cheesecake- all of which were super! Would highly recommend!!!

Weather perfect to sit outside. Gigi waited on us, and was personable, professional and fun (loved the Halloween nails!). We split the beets appetizer and each got a sandwich....and each took home half the beets and half our sandwiches, which comes with fries. Lots of food for the price, good service, good wine and good atmosphere. Have lived here 10+ yrs, and first time here, BUT won't be the last. Updated to add 📸 of my leftover half BLT.

Came here for my brother's 80th birthday party. We had an amazing experience. We were a party of about 25 people. We received excellent service from all of the staff. Servers were very attentive. There are several several small parties besides hours and I noticed they got excellent service as well. Had charcuterie, hot pasta, lots of things to choose from on the menu for the entree, chocolate eclairs and cannolis for dessert. Everything was excellent, presentation was excellent, ambiance was excellent. And of course the wine was excellent. We travel 6 hours to get here I don't know if we will be able to get back, but if we were ever in the area we would certainly go back.

Our visit to Burntshirt Vineyards was exceptional! The Tasting Room offered a warm, welcoming atmosphere and an impressive selection of wines. The vineyards tour was both informative and scenic, surrounded by stunning mountain views. We were lucky to have Dominic, the vintner, give us an in-depth educational tour. A special shoutout to Jennifer, our server at the restaurant, who made our experience unforgettable with her friendly service and great recommendations. Both the wine & food were great! I especially enjoyed Bat Cave & the white bean chicken chili and brussel sprouts. I had such a great time, I'm bring 19 friends back on 11/16 for lunch and tour!

Cool vibe, great food — but the wait was rough. Loved the old pharmacy theme and the decor was on point. Food was solid, and once Lily showed up (she had just started her shift), service was friendly and smooth. But before that? We waited 20+ minutes with zero acknowledgment — no greeting, no update, nothing. Almost left. If they fix the front-of-house flow, this place could be a gem.
TeckJunky — Google review
Food was pretty good. Everything is an added cost on a burger or sandwiches. The BLT was very skimpy on bacon and nothing special. The small burger was the perfect size and was yum. The sweet potato fries were $4 extra for the smallest portion I've ever seen. It looked like someone ate most of them already and left a few stragglers on the plate. They were delicious though. The fresh squeezed lemonade was refreshing and we watched her squeeze the lemons. It was a bit pricey with no refills...but that is to be expected. Service was okay. Not overly friendly or attentive. The interior is decorated as an old pharmacy/soda fountain as that's what it was. It is a historic building and was fun seeing all the antiques. The tables could have been cleaner, however. Probably would not go back but it was nice once.

Mike’s on Main is the perfect spot for some comfort food! The atmosphere is very kitschy and fun — you feel like you’re back in the 1950s. The service is wonderful as well. We will not be back! The first time we went there a few years ago the food was great. We went there again this past Saturday around 3:00 and it was terrible. The server took a few minutes to get to us but she took our order, delivered our order, filled my husband's tea and never came back. I had nothing to drink anymore because half the staff including our server was too busy eating. We waited about 10 minutes before someone came to finally prebus our table but didn't ask if I needed a refill. I was so upset at this point and just wanted to leave. We paid $50 for 2 sandwiches (which had half the meat), 1 added on fries, 1 tea, 1 soda and tater tots. On top of that the business wants to charge us their 3.25% credit card fees for terrible service and food. The servers were smacking on their food approaching tables which is so gross. I will never go back there again and we will not go to any place that charge us their fees. It should be included in the prices just like they always have. Very disappointing.

Farmers Markets
The Curb Market in Hendersonville, North Carolina has been a local tradition since 1924. What started as a small gathering of farmers selling their surplus produce has now grown into a bustling market offering an array of fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, crafts, and homemade goods. Open on select days from April to December and during January to March, the market is popular among both locals and visitors for its ever-changing offerings.
The fresh veggies are delicious. Great selections of apples, fresh carrots and greens. Saturday is a big day at curb market. Check out all the beautiful hand made items.

Spanning ten acres, this charming park features over a mile of scenic walking trails that meander alongside the tranquil lake. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls on well-maintained paths adorned with fitness stations and benches perfect for resting while soaking in the vibrant spring blooms.
Nice little park, has a large pond with a well maintained walking path around it. Parking lots at both ends of the park.

Great, short, mostly flat park hike for a quick pause of the hustle and bustle. There are plenty of benches and spots to chill and relax. Friendly park goers keep up with this moderate size community park that features a central pond and creeks flowing through it. There's an exercise course and on the high trail you get of view of the area founder's home and historical marker

Nice walking trail or fitness run plus fitness equipment area in the shade. Goes around the lake. Very few Rhododendrons seen, only 2 blooming (end of May). Catch and release for fishing here.
Tami S — Google review
Lovely Park made into a beautiful place to visit by volunteers and the town of Laurel Park. It's a great nature experience for kids, there is a catch and release option for children accompanied by an adult. There are wooded trails and beautiful plantings, and a grill with a picnic table. There is a natural workout area, and bubbling Brooks throughout. A very easy walk for anyone to enjoy.
Carol B — Google review
This was one of those tranquil places where you just stroll around, leisurely walking the trail. People are picnicking and fishing. I had my husky with me and we chilled out under some shady tree next to the water and watched the fish. The flowers are starting to bloom all over the area and was beautiful to see. It's somewhat of a hidden gem. It's tucked in the neighborhood. They are so lucky. They had a nice parking lot, and very dog friendly. Love that they have stations for bags and garbage. Would love to go back again

What a lovely little park, nestled in between apartment complexes and condominiums. Everything is exploding in color as spring has arrived. There are fish in the lake, Canadian geese and mallards. There are benches everywhere, wooden bridges, stones, and meandering gravel paths. This is an easy walk for anyone to enjoy. .7 miles round-trip. Wide paths and easy access, plenty of parking.

What an amazing little park. Great walking trails around a tiny pond, very well manicured and just serene.

Coffee shop
Black Bear Coffee Co has been a beloved spot on Main Street in Hendersonville since 1993. The cozy coffee shop offers a charming atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating, making it popular among locals and travelers seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of Downtown Hendersonville. In addition to a wide array of coffee beverages and teas, the shop features locally made baked goods, fresh salads, soups, sandwiches, breakfast options, and more.
Stopped by Black Bear Coffee Co on a recent trip to Hendersonville, amazing coffee and pastries! Highly recommend the peanut butter chocolate bar and the coffee is phenomenal. The staff were all super friendly and personable, even though they were so busy my first trip there. It was so good I had to come back before we left for more coffee and snacks for the road 😂
Kelly P — Google review
I have been to Black Bear three times over my recent visit to Hendersonville. Each visit has been very pleasant. Clearly the staff have a connection with locals which I appreciat. I had single origin Counter Culture from nicaragua--a solid coffee in the light range. While it was piping hot at 7, it had lost some of its warmth when I came in at 8:30. The dark chocolate/raspberry scone was excellent with both flavors spread generously through the scone. The scone had a crisp texture which I prefer to the softer, doughier forms. My wife enjoyed a pumpkin muffin from the texture standpoint but could have used a tad more cinnamon. I had a chocolate croissant the previous day and the chocolate to croissant ratio was much more than i had typically found at many other coffee shops.
Ley B — Google review
Grabbed some coffees, a chai and a muffin to go whilst visiting the Hands On! Children’s Museum next door. Thankfully you can take drinks in, and this place was a treat to combine with our visit! Great drinks, tasty snacks, a cool vibe. Clearly a popular place with lots of regulars, locals, families, people on laptops, catching up and enjoying a broad selection of snacks and food choices, and specialist drinks. A nice place to come to drink in or get something to go.

I’ve been coming here for years — it’s always awesome. Even when it’s busy, the line moves quick and the vibe stays relaxed. During Helene, they stepped up and offered the community a place to gather, which says a lot about who they are. Just a great spot all around. I always look forward to my trips there.

Stopped in for a cappuccino and an avocado toast. Great coffee, tasty food, and a cozy spot to relax for a bit.

My wife and I stopped by this place for a little brunch while passing through the area. And we were so happy we did. The Avocado Toast was amazing. Everything had such a homemade/hometown feel and taste. Forget the "fast food coffee" place, you gotta check out Black Bear for the real deal Western North Carolina experience.
Dale D — Google review
A must stop in Hendersonville, they are open more so than other places, their Drinks are Jedi level and amazing pastries and cookies to complement the hot drinks.
Neil V — Google review
I Specifically asked for coconut milk in my latte cause I have a severe allergy to milk. Watched the girl pour regular milk into my drink and try to serve it to me as a latte with coconut milk. I notified her of it and she made me another one and acted like it was made with coconut milk and I got sick!! If you are out of a milk alternative notify the customer don’t use something else and serve it to them not knowing!!!! If someone orders a milk alternative is it not necessarily a preference, you can seriously hurt someone. In my case, I was that someone! My entire day was ruined because I decided to get a latte from this place. I don’t recommend going here if you have any allergies.

Jackson Park, situated near the southeast city limits of Hendersonville, North Carolina, offers a wide range of facilities and activities suitable for all age groups. The park hosts various events throughout the year including the Cross Country Jamboree, Farm City Day, Movies in the Park, and an annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Last week 12/16/24 FYI disc golf is not open due to damages. I stopped to take a walk before it was dark. It’s been so hard here with all the hurricane devastation. Shown are some of the pics I have taken. Amazing tennis courts & even some with the back walls too! Beautiful biking or a nice long walk. They had to buy all new equipment because of Helene, which was not cheap and if you look at the pics you can see how much wear they have already on them. These machines range from 85k to 165k. I believe a homeless person was in the wooded area, however not sure if they were gonna come back. Been here a bunch of times. Greenway back and forth is about 6 miles.

Great local park for kids of all ages. Lots of climbing obstacles, slides and swings and the rubber padding has extra cushion! Only downfall was the traffic that speeds in the parking lot. Speed bumps would be a great addition.

My go-to Park for dog walking. I love this family-friendly Park that is large enough to usually find an out-of-the-way spot from others to spend outdoor time with my dog. I appreciate relaxing, looking at nature and also the flowers at the Cooperative Extension.

Bakery
McFarlan Bake Shop, established in 1930, is a beloved destination for locals and tourists alike. The historic bakery offers an array of freshly baked pastries, danishes, and doughnuts made from scratch. Its vintage decor and old-fashioned staff exude a charming history-meets-nostalgia vibe. Visitors rave about the amazing baked goods, including decorated cookies that have been a highlight for many since childhood.
If you love bakeries, this one should be at the top of your list! McFarlan had the BEST cinnamon rolls ever, and I've tried quite a few. The fact the shop is still open 94 years after its opening states everything you need to know. I'll pay a few pictures of their decorated cookies and cakes, along with my purchase. You can't go wrong with this place!
Nspanic — Google review
We have now gotten two custom cakes from this bakery for each of my daughter’s birthdays. One Frozen themed party and one outer space (“two the moon”) themed party. Both times they absolutely nailed the looks we were going for. We keep coming back because the cakes are also DELICIOUS. 10/10, no question we will be back for our next event!
Meghan S — Google review
I really liked the chocolate chewy cookie, but the rest was just okay. The price was ok on most items compared to other bakeries so that was good. A couple staff were friendly but the one taking my order seemed like she really didn't want to get my order. Overall it wasn't a bad experience but I won't make the long drive to go back.

We asked this bakery to make a gender reveal cake for us and they exceed our expectations! Not only was the cake beautiful and exactly what we asked for, but it was honestly one of the most delicious cakes I’ve eaten! They also worked with us on our tight deadline and got it to us within a week. We received so many compliments on the cake as well and many people asking where it was from. Would highly recommend McFarlan Bake Shop, thanks for helping make our gender reveal so special! 💗

What's good at McFarlan Bake Shop? Everything! The cinnamon rolls are to die for, and their donuts are equally amazing. We had some happy kiddos (and adults!) after visiting here. Check it out!

It is rare to find a ‘real’ bakery these days. You know, the kind where their products are made from scratch and are so delicious. Well, this is one of those places. What a great surprise to discover this spot while visiting Hendersonville, NC. The cinnamon rolls are the best I’ve ever tasted. Their cookies are fresh, tasty, and addictive. Don’t miss this place when you visit the area.

Just amazing! We found McFarlan on a trip to the Asheville area and instantly knew we needed to have their donuts at our wedding. Some of the best apple fritters, cinnamon rolls, and traditional donuts we’ve ever had. The cake they made for our wedding was literally the best cake we’ve ever had! We were blown away. Their team was always friendly, professional, and so easy to work with. We will be back!

I have grown up on Mcfarlans and always loved them. You can’t go wrong with anything there! I wanted to comment on the decorators they have there now. We had a great time at **Grandad's Apples Farm**! Picking apples with the family was a fun experience, with plenty of varieties available and friendly staff to assist us. Afterward, we enjoyed the **Glacier**, an apple slushy topped with ice cream. It was refreshingly sweet and creamy—perfect for cooling down. Overall, Grandad's Apples Farm is a fantastic spot for families and anyone looking to enjoy a day outdoors. I highly recommend it for the apple-picking and the delicious Glacier treat!

Great experience! Loved the fried apple pie, apple cider donuts, and hot apple cider!! We had a lot of fun walking through the corn maze and picking out a pumpkin in the pumpkin field! Also loved that the play area for kids was free with so many great photos opportunities. General entry and parking were also free. Great fall activity!

Pick this place out of all the other orchards in the Hendersonville area and it did not disappoint. Everything was reasonably priced. Highly recommend the fried apple pie and the Apple turnover and the Apple donuts and really anything. Other thing they got that has Apple in it. Everything was really good. Corn maze was only $5. It was difficult. We didn't have a map which made it interesting but we made our way out. Their jams and jellies were really reasonably priced. I would like to see them. Have pepper jellies in the bigger jars those are hard to find but overall I give it really two thumbs up. We had a great time. There's plenty of stuff to do for kids and adults as well

Grandads Apples has delicious apples, but is also an amazing place to visit and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery while sitting in oversized rocking chairs. Very friendly staff and ongoing events. Great place to take children, as they have a large play area. Pumpkins everywhere in the fall and a large field of pumpkins add a touch of nostalgia to your visit. Enjoy!
Brenda Z — Google review
First visit to Grandad’s Apples. There were many different varieties of apples to choose from. Then containers were full. The main entrance has a gift shop and bakery. The bakery has various apple pastries to choose from and an apple cider slushy. The view of the orchard from the back of the main building is beautiful. There is a pumpkin patch to choose a pumpkin of your choice. It also has a playground and picnic area. I will go back to this location again.
B L — Google review
This is definitely our new go-to orchard (and we have gone to a lot of them). There is a really great selection of apples and they even have a tasting spot with peeled apples so you can taste them before you buy. The kid's area is next level! It's a large fenced area with Port a potties just outside it. There js a sandbox with little excavators, basketball game, large playground, large bear and gorilla statues to climb on, spiderweb climber, tunnel, and pumpkins all over. You can sit at the picnic tables in the kid area and enjoy the view for hours. There is u-pick (call for availability) a corn maze, and apples canon. Plenty of parking and their bakery has all the seasonal stuff you could want!
Katherine B — Google review
Our favorite place to purchase apples and apple pie. We had a bakery and make pies that people would order months in advance for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We buy a Grandad's Apple Pie every time we go because they are so good that it's not worth the extra effort to make one of our own. Plus their price is fantastic for the quality of the pie. Our entire family loves this place. Be warned that lines on the weekends can get long but it's worth the wait.

Restaurant
HenDough Chicken & Donuts is a cozy, casual spot that specializes in beloved comfort foods like fried chicken and donuts. The restaurant has become a local favorite and is highly recommended for visitors. Situated in a restored home, HenDough offers a tempting menu featuring an array of options such as egg in a basket, Nashville Hot Chicken Biscuit, cinnamon sugar twists, pimento cheese biscuit, donut breakfast sandwich, and donut bread pudding.
Excellent crispy breading on the chicken and the biscuit had a nice shell but soft inside. Only negative is that with the egg on the sandwich it's impossible to eat as a sandwich(obviously not a real complaint but don't plan to eat this one handed). Quality food at a reasonable price. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area
Matt A — Google review
Wow — what an amazing breakfast! The apple butter chicken biscuit was INSANELY good — such a creative, cozy autumn twist on a classic breakfast favorite. The hashbrowns were perfectly crispy, the ranch was on point, and those Nashville hot chicken pickles? Absolute perfection. We couldn’t resist grabbing a dozen donuts to go — the apple one was especially delicious (though honestly, they’re all amazing!). A special shoutout to the guy at the register — friendly, funny, and full of that wicked sense of humor that instantly made us feel right at home. We’ll definitely be back — this spot is a total gem!

We stopped by for an early lunch. We had the Nashville Hot chicken biscuit sandwich (which was spicy) and the Apple Cheddar chicken biscuit sandwich). Along with a turtle cheesecake donut (very rich) and a blueberry lemon donut. Fast service, outdoor seating (so dog friendly) and reasonable prices. I try to support local businesses as often as possible on vacation

Oh my goodness I fell in love with this place instantly. Donuts are HEAVENLY, specialty lattes are FIRE (I got Caramel Apple Butter latte and wow), and the fried chicken is so flavorful. I wish I lived closer so I could come back regularly.

I got a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and a Boston crème. The biscuit was soft with a garlic buttery taste, cooked to perfection! The donut was rather dense, however the crème in the middle was delicious, and very soft pillowy breading. I wanted more, but could only eat 1! Highly recommend!!
Brittany F — Google review
Absolutely phenomenal breakfast! We got the chicken biscuit and egg and cheese biscuit along with a chocolate frosted donut and a caramel espresso donut. This place makes me sad I don’t live here!

I very rarely leave reviews because I think a person's experience with a restaurant or business, ect. is subjective. What I may love, you may not so I just keep my opinions to myself. But HenDough....wow!! I LOVE this restaurant!! I got the Nashville Hot Chicken biscuit (with no pickles because I hate pickles 🤮) with a side of smoked gouda macaroni and cheese. It was unbelievable!! The chicken was perfect but that macaroni was out of this world!! I haven't stopped thinking about HenDough since that day. I wish there was one in Boiling Springs SC so I could eat there everyday! The owner was absolutely awesome and seemed like such a good guy. We did get some doughnuts too and they were phenomenal!! Its my new favorite restaurant ❤️

This place is amazing! You order at the counter and can take it to go or seat yourself. There's seating upstairs, too. They give you a buzzer to grab your food when it's ready. They have coffee and a coke fountain machine. The donuts are amazing and fresh. We took a few with us when we were done. The biscuits with sausage gravy was like mom makes! We also enjoyed a delicious chicken biscuit. Service was courteous and fast. Next time we’re here for vacation we will definitely coming back.

I really liked the experience here. Nice clean welcome area with bathrooms, helpful staff. A lily pond, lots of pretty flowers and shrubbery along the trail. Play area for kids. I would just prefer a little more shade, but that is personal preference.
Laura R — Google review
This has to be the cleanest, most well maintained, manicured, park I've ever visited! And it's HUGE! It seems like you could walk forever on the paved pathways... I already found MY favorite spot though, it's a bench overlooking the creek... I can sit and relax with to the sounds of the water as it babbles along over & around the rocks, soothing my frayed nerves. That would be a perfect spot to have a small picnic for one or two, sandwiches & chips or a fast food bag of food! They have an area in the center which has these information posters, showing the different types of plants, birds and such you may see there... I wouldn't be surprised to see deer grazing in the meadow or an occasional bear wandering through! (I saw a HUGE bear paw print in the mud in Jackson Park once, and it's right behind the courthouse downtown!) My dog loves it as well, but BE SURE TO BRING YOUR OWN DOGGIE BAGS, as this is the ONLY park I've ever seen in Hendersonville that doesn't have them. Or if they do I never found them! I subtracted a star for that reason. In this area, parks are more for dogs then for people it seems, which is why they all have the little doggie bag dispensers along with trash cans to put them in. I always see far more DOGS than KIDS in parks here, like 20 to 1! And this park has all the "clean up after your dog" signs, but NO poop bags to do it with, so I feel like there are probably lots of little surprises left by dogs whose owners expected there to be bags but there aren't any, so watch your step! 😮💩🤬 I really feel like they should have signs that read, "Please clean up after your kids" as well!! 🤔🤨 There are covered picnic tables, and pavilions you can rent for parties and such. There are benches along the paved paths to stop for a rest on if you need to. Duck ponds, tiny babbling brooks and a lot of unique plants &v wildflowers growing around and IN the water Overall it is a very nice park. If they add the doggie bag dispensers (or if I find them there!) then I will change my rating from 4 to 5 stars, because it will truly be a 5 Star Park then! So please, give us the 🐕‍🦺💩baggies! 😂 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Great location for an afternoon walk on any pleasant day. Park is well-maintained, grounds are properly groomed, and the facilities are attended as they should be. Great play area for the kids (our grandkid's favorite in all of Hendersonville). Long walking trails and just enough "wild and scenic" to admire the foliage, creekside walk, and mature tree canopy. Easy to forget it was once a public golf course. Bring your dog. He'll meet plenty of friends 🤗.
Ken P — Google review
Such a fun park with plenty to do! We mostly stayed on the playground portion with our two year old. There were structures for toddlers and big kids alike and plenty of slides and places to climb. We went in the late afternoon on a weekday and while the parking lot was relatively full, it did not feel very busy.
Kaitlyn A — Google review
I'm so glad they changed this place from a golf course to a park. I think its a much better way to spend your time. There are 2 playgrounds, a covered pavilion, bathrooms, and a small room to rent. There are many trails that are crushed rock or paved that meander throughout the park. There are many benches and other places to stop and enjoy nature.

Southern Streams CoffeeHouse is a charming spot just a short distance from downtown. The large gravel lot and mountain vacation vibe make for a delightful setting. Guests can choose between indoor and outdoor seating, including a spacious sunny deck. While the coffee, tea, and specialty drinks are fantastic, the real highlight is the Cinnamon Roll Scroll - a delightful combination of scone and cinnamon roll that shouldn't be missed when warmed up.
Love to work and meet friends there, it does get a little challenging with the parking as it is such a popular place, especially in the mornings...but there are solutions to that. Lori the owner is lovely, friendly, and very welcoming. The service is great and the food is prepared fresh every day! It was my girlfriend's idea to come here she's a sweetheart, This was our first time here. Places cute on the outside You notice that there's outside seating right away which I love upon walking in it's comfy and cozy, the place has great atmosphere, staff was friendly the decor is rustic and clean place felt well kept organized. A girlfriend ordered the breakfast burrito I ordered the avocado toast we split both of them. The breakfast burrito portion size one person could definitely eat it, it comes with a salsa which tasted good the texture of the outside of the burrito was crispy, it was delicious. Breakfast burrito was a win for sure. This is my first time having avocado toast comes on two big pieces of rustic sourdough bread slices of boiled eggs and pickled onions Let me tell you this is by far the best breakfast I've had in a long time that avocado toast was absolutely amazing I destroyed it, It hit the spot. I had the triples fall latte add wonderful flavors everything mixed together really well tasted delicious My girlfriend got the affogatto shots And it comes with Wit's custard vanilla she also got a matcha frap All the coffee we got was absolutely delicious and the which custard with the shots of espresso game changer yeah really I can't recommend this place enough it's amazing we'll definitely be back It's cozy it's awesome. Timber Axe Throwing in Hendersonville offers a fun and popular activity where you can enjoy the thrill of throwing axes in a setup similar to darts and bowling. The venue provides a great atmosphere for group gatherings, family outings, or nights out. With friendly staff and coaches, visitors can learn how to throw axes while enjoying the outdoor patio area with options for ciders and beers. It's an ideal place for quality family time or some friendly competition among friends.
We had a great company retirement party at Timber! The staff were informative, fun and the place was just great! A great place to get out some aggression on a wooden wall! Will definitely be back!

No wait to start our experience at ax throwing lane. Several sizes of axes and stars are available at a small fee. A couple of games outdoor like corn hole, checkers, connect 4 also. Great service! Would come back if we had chance to.

Came for a work team-building event and was super scared to even show up. Ended up having the best time! Environemd was super clean and inviting! Staff was knowledgeable and made us newbies feel at home! The glow and throw is only in October and I filed a formal complaint 🤣. We genuinely had the best time and I will most definitely be coming back!

My wife and I went to Timber Axe Throwing for the first time. We had a blast! Definitely the best date night we’ve had in a while. The duder who helped us when we got there was the nicest kid. He was respectful and attentive. Taught us some techniques, made sure we had beverages, and even took some photos for us when we were finished. Highly recommend this joint! We will be back!

We were brought here for the first time for a birthday night out. We had SO MUCH FUN! The owners were amazingly sweet and helpful (even showed us how to throw right lol). I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to enjoy a fun-filled night with a great vibe!!! We will definitely be going back 😁

We had such a fun time! We got to bring in our own dinner and they had lots of canned beverages for purchase. Definitely will be going back!

Great venue. We went at open on a Saturday and we had the place to ourselves for over an hour. After throwing we went out to the patio and threw some corn hole while we finished our drinks. I prefer cider over beer and they had many options for ciders. Bartenders and axe throwing coaches were awesome! Will definitely be returning when we want something fun to do.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited Timber Axe Throwing and had an absolute blast! From the moment we walked in, Hope, the owner, was incredibly friendly and engaging. She took the time to show us the proper way to throw an axe and shared some great tips to improve our technique. Hope checked in with us periodically, making sure we were having a great time and offering additional pointers. For a small charge, you can also try throwing stars, which added an extra layer of fun to our visit. Hope was kind enough to let us use the throwing stars for the last 5 minutes of our booking, which was a fantastic bonus! The venue also features a bar with a variety of beverages, including local brews, which was perfect for relaxing between throws. Outside, there are cornhole and table games, providing even more entertainment options. All participants need to sign a waiver, and I recommend wearing close-toed shoes for safety. Whether you're looking to escape a hot summer day or a cold winter day, Timber Axe Throwing is a fantastic choice for some indoor fun. Hope made our experience truly memorable, and we can't wait to come back! Highly recommended! I give them a solid 5 out of 5 throwing stars ;)

The Historic Railroad Depot in Hendersonville has a rich history, with the Southern Railway reaching the town in 1879. Although passenger service ended in 1968, the depot continued to serve freight trains until 2002. Today, it houses an impressive collection of model trains and is part of the local train club. Visitors can explore this fascinating attraction for free on certain days of the week. The depot is a popular spot for train enthusiasts and families alike.
Great place to take the boys for a fun time at no cost, unless you want to leave a donation. There's no hard -sell to make a donation either. It's never mentioned - there's just boxes sitting around that say "donations" on it. Lots and lots of trains in all the rooms, with each train belonging to an individual who is there, remotely running their train, to the thrill of the kids (and adults) watching. After going through all the rooms of trains there's an outdoor garden train setup, and when you leave the building and head next door, it's a caboose! Everybody climbed aboard and a gentleman told the kiddos all about it. All in all, everyone had a great time at no cost! 😁
Vivian O — Google review
Great place for fans of model RR. Wonderful layout across several rooms. A Thomas display that the young ones can operate. A real caboose you can walk through. Free admission. Only open two days a week, 1-3 pm.
Loretta D — Google review
This place is awesome if you love trains and especially model trains. You could spend hours looking at all the model trains and how much work that has went into building these and making them run. It is part of the local train club. They are only open 2 days out of the week, but it is free to park and free to go inside. The only downside I saw,, was my wife went in there and not one person said a word to you, and was looking at you like you did not belong. I understand they do not work there, they are part of the club, but I feel they should have engaged with the public at the very least to see if you had any questions. It was a good time overall.

A great trail for running, biking and walking. Nicely landscaped in places, very natural in others. Several access points and offshoots.
Patrick S — Google review
I love this trail to ride my bike on but it needs better marking because the trail has many side trails and you can find yourself off the main trail and list. I did lol. The bike stations contain air pumps that are broken and useless. This is reason for 4 stars
Paul B — Google review
Beautiful but quite literally the least peaceful trail I have ever been on. Me and my mother and little dog were constantly having to move out of the actual trail because there were like three or four lawn maintenance workers were constantly using up the trail space and passing back and forth. I understand maintenance has to be done but you would think they would be more respectful of trailgoers and they totally weren't. This also stirred up all the mosquitos and gnats in the area because they kept passing back and forth. It was an incredibly uncomfortable experience.

I walk here two or three times a week. Level trail with lots of entry points to provide a variety of walk options. Blooming season is just starting.

The skate park here is well built. The only thing I see as an issue is the stairs, they need to be marked because if you're coming from the drop in side you can't see them at all until you're about 3ft away (at 6'2") The place could definitely be pressure washed.

In addition to their delectable ice cream, McConnell Farms also sells fresh produce such as berries, fruits, tomatoes, and corn.

The best apples I have found in NC. Crisp, juicy, and great flavor. Many varieties. The farmer also told me he uses organic methods of farming so that is another major plus. I hear the ice cream is great too so I will have to go back to try it!
Travis S — Google review
Unusual experience. First, the place is hard to find. It's small and up a narrow farm road, tiny signage, and not sure it can be seen from the 2-lane highway. It's small. This place specializes in many flavors of homemade ice cream and fresh produce, such as berries, fruits, tomatoes, and corn. The ice cream is good, and loaded with content (fruits, nuts, etc.). Ice cream is sold by the cup or quart. Service by a young lady of few words. Give it a try. Don't expect "big city" experience.

Homemade ice cream is fabulous! The chocolate mint ice cream was basically chocolate with junior mints and it was 10/10!

There are hardly enough words to describe the deliciousness of the ice cream. Amazing, astonishing, creative, creamiest ever, flavor intense, just divine in every way. this is a five star rating for a ten star ice cream. The ice cream is good but they are never open even when it says they are open there is nobody there. I have made the trip now 3 to 4 times and no one is there.

I’ve been purchasing from this farm for the summer and most recently figs and strawberries. After spending over $30 the last time for strawberries and figs, and for them once again to have been 50% bad or moldy, I decided to write to them. The response I got was very short and definitely missing the point. “I am sorry you were not satisfied with your purchase of the strawberries. If you will send your mailing address I will send you a check for your $12.00 strawberry purchase. In the future perhaps another vendor at the NATM may be able to better meet your expectations.” Not being satisfied isn’t the point. Money wasted on food I cannot use is the problem. As of today I’ve yet to receive a response or a refund. The woman who works at the table is consistently rude and rushes you also. The photos are from 4 hours after purchasing. The figs have all been at least 50% rotten. But you can’t sit there and check them out before purchase due to being rushed along. I normally don’t write reviews like this, I’ve been very forgiving because mistakes happen. But the response from them regarding this situation felt very passive.

William H. King Memorial Park is a serene and peaceful destination located near downtown, offering a variety of trails for walking your dog or enjoying a leisurely stroll with your furry friend. It provides a tranquil setting for picnics, watching passersby, and even hosting large gatherings. The park is well-loved by locals due to its easy accessibility, but some areas may have litter concerns that could benefit from community cleanup efforts.
Another part of the Greenway that you and your furry friends can stroll thru, sit and watch passerbys, have a picnic, or bring the kids to play. Well traveled by the locals because it is so easily accessed. Parts have a lot of trash, which is sad. It would nice if we could get together and do a cleanup day!
Sandy G — Google review
Good place to walk your dog. Especially if you have a dog that does not like bikers or runners. It's hit and miss sometimes you run into a jogger and sometimes a biker but it's not like the other parks around nearby where that's all you see and all you have to deal with is the bikers and the runners. It's annoying to me because my dog is a rescue dog and she does not like people running up behind her. I don't like it either that's why I carry a pepper spray with me because I don't like people running up behind me. What is it with people that think that they can go to a park and run behind someone and not even announce that they are coming up upon you? Same thing with bikers they have bells on bikes or you can install them or you could just yell hey I'm coming through. But nobody does it and it's annoying as hell. That's all I have to say about that. But this park is cool it's about 8 miles from my daughter's house where my brand new grandbaby is and I can't wait to see him again because I live in Ohio. So if you want a nice park with lots of trails and a peaceful atmosphere this is the place to go. There's another park across the way that I would not recommend because there's just way too many joggers and way too many bikers. I went there once and it was the most annoying time to be with my dog in the park when it should be enjoyable and relaxing.

The restaurant's colorful decor, art, and whimsical vibe create a comfortable yet elevated dining experience. Chef Jesse Roque's dedication to providing guests with not only delicious food but also a memorable dining experience is evident in every aspect of the restaurant, from the cocktails to the menu and service.
We were excited to find a restaurant with tapas options! We loved the devils on horseback (fried bacon wrapped dates), the duck wontons & the chicken curry deviled eggs (my favorite). We also enjoyed the ribeye cheeseburger (not pictured) and the shrimp & grits. The atmosphere is very eclectic & colorful, and the waitress was attentive & very helpful with menu suggestions. Recommend!

We were traveling in the NC mountains and stopped at Never Blue for dinner. Street parking was tough but there was a side street lot easy to access. We were seated quickly. The meal was delicious. My son is super picky and he loved the chicken tenders and fries. We sat in the transformed open area with lots of pillows on the mesh chairs for comfort. The waitress was sweet and knowledgeable. I forgot to mention. There is plenty of humor here too! A sign, on the open air portion of the building identified that bugs live outside and they can't control them. Funny! Also, the restroom sign was for the "whatever". Not men or women :) They have a lot of humor!

Epic lunch! Comfortable atmosphere, spectacular food and stellar service from Madison. We tried 6 items from the tapas menu and it was all devine. The portions are huge for tapas and we left there stuffed. The passion fruit margarita was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. I can't rave enough about this place!

Visited here for the first time today for lunch after hiking and it was delicious! Loved that they had so many vegan and dairy free options, and that they were clearly marked! My husband and I got two tapas and a dessert each and everything was so flavorful and fantastic! Pictured is the vegan chocolate cheesecake with sorbet and the brownie. Will be back!

We love this place for special occasions and bringing friends and family from out of town. The quirky atmosphere is fun and inviting. We also love sharing and trying a bunch of different menu items. For our birthday celebration we tried it all! Calamari- excellent, tenderloin quesadilla- a favorite, the burger- fantastic, pork tostada- tender great flavor, fried grouper- crisp and light, Cesar salad- anchovies in the dressing makes all the difference. Our only critic is of the desserts. The big chocolate cake was delicious all by itself, we would have preferred regular vanilla ice cream instead of the orange. The pineapple crisp was, in our opinion, too sweet and a bit soupy. Overall the experience was great and we look forward to future dining experiences.
M. G — Google review
This place has outdoor, indoor, and semi outdoor seating. The tables are covered with a paper sheet over a tablecloth which is good for quick turnover except for the fact that the tablecloth is very dirty. I got the Shrimp and Grits which were very bland for S&G, I added salt but it did not help much. I can say that my trip was made better by Ms. Kayla, who was my waitress. She was very thought and attentive to me.
David B — Google review
The ambiance is very nice and "on trend" so there tends to be a wait for dinner. The food we sampled was okay, the mashed potatoes, devils on horseback, and brussel sprouts tapas received my highest rankings. The Quality of Service left something to be desired in terms of accuracy, attentiveness, and efficiency, but it was likely bc there was a dinner rush concurrently. Our waitress' personality, however, was sweet-natured. I would probably go back for wine and tapas on the patio... just my two cents.

We chose Brandy’s on Main for my birthday dinner while visiting the area, and I was excited after reading so many great reviews. Unfortunately, I felt the experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. The wine I wanted was discontinued, which was disappointing—especially since it was still listed on the menu. I’d much rather see it crossed off than wait all that time only to be told it’s unavailable. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, but the service was on the slow side. I started with the French Onion soup, which looked nice but lacked flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the steak medium rare, but it came out medium well. The taste was fine, but nothing memorable, and my guest’s steak was also overcooked. For dessert, we tried the pistachio ice cream. I usually love anything pistachio, but this was overly sweet, and after one bite I left it. Overall, our experience was just okay. With all the great reviews, I was hoping for more, but for me, it fell a bit short.

Second post: My husband took me to Brandy’s for my birthday last week. (Restaurant didn’t know of my “special occasion “ my husband didn’t want mention it. That’s fine. Anyway, it was deliciously perfect. Staff wonderful. We had Ben! The only thought and observation that where we were seated you can see right into kitchen. The door behind/by bar area. Not a pleasant sight to look at as relaxing and eating. We were surprised about that. Ruins the ambience of the beautiful restaurant. First post: Atmosphere very nice. Paintings on the walls, the owner painted. Beautiful. Staff very knowledgeable. Bread and desserts made in house. Yum. We had two appetizers. Shrimp cocktail and lobster Bacall. Delicious. Best ever! My husband had the Old Blue Eyes and I had the Michael Jordan for our dinner choices. Delicious and tender. The only thing I wanted my filet medallions medium well. They were more well but still tender. We will go back! Want to try other entrees for sure. Sorry, didn’t have my phone with me for photos.

Went to Brandy's On Main in downtown Hendersonville to celebrate my birthday, and what a delight it was! Our server told us this was a scratch kitchen. Everything is made from scratch daily. The meal started with several slices of their warm, homemade bread that has 13 spices in it. Oh, what a taste sensation! My partner ordered a cup of Shrimp and Salmon Chowder - very tasty. I ordered the Lobster Bisque, best I've had outside of New Orleans! We then decided to split "Sleepless in Seattle" - fresh Maine Lobster, shrimp, with Portabella Mushrooms, and Cavatappi pasta in a Brandy Fontina Cheese cream sauce. The seafood and pasta were perfectly cooked and served in a beautifully rendered sauce. We closed our meal with a Creme Bruleé with Berries that was served with chilled spoons and then a Champagne toast - a wonderful end to a truly delightful meal. Great way to celebrate a birthday!

My fiancé and I had our 5 year anniversary dinner here as a tribute to our first ever date at Brandy’s 5 years ago. I requested the same table we sat at then. They were able to accommodate! they had some extras on the table I wasn’t expecting, chocolates, a sign that said “Happy Anniversary” we even received champagne for a toast on the house! Our server was fantastic! The food has always been perfect! We love coming here and plan to make a tradition of it! -D&J

Where to begin? We went as a group of fifteen. Restaurant is noisy. Normally, I like piano music but there it was too loud bc of poor acoustics and with background noise of other dinners etc. our experience would have been better without it. I started w a martini...$10, not bad, but when the bill came there was an additional surcharge of $4 for "up"...literally an upcharge for a martini without ice. That's ridulous. My filet tasted good at the restaurant, but not good four hours later when I was awakened with heartburn which I never have and a quesey feeling. Prilosec helped. The bubbles and squeak (mash potato side) tasted good to me, but clearly was heated in a microwave before being served; understandable for the size of our group, but I would prefer the food be served as prepared instead of all at the same time requiring a heat up in a microwave. Side salad was excellent. My wife ordered the steak w lobster. Her steak/lobster was dry. She wouldn't eat the potato side. Cremebrulee was good but very small. She got through the night but had shivers and nausea the next day. Total bill w mandatory 20% gratuity was over $170. Service was good so I didn't mind the 20%. Needless to say, we were disappointed and will never go back.

We recently moved to the area and were excited to have access to places like the Hendersonville Theatre. We attended "Something Rotten." The production was fantastic up until the point when they decided to mock Christianity and shove LGBTQ down our throats. I saw this production on Broadway and loved it. None of this was necessary. I'm disappointed that this theatre has an agenda and doesn't focus on good theater. I will not return again.

Unlike other orchards that catered to families with kids, this store/warehouse setup provides a quieter atmosphere with fewer crowds. It boasts the widest range of options available in the area, including their mouthwatering fried pies. A discovery worth revisiting annually for its superior quality and expansive selection.
Absolutely loved our experience at Freeman Orchards. The variety of apples they have are amazing. The owners were there and were lovely in telling us about the apples and other fun facts. We will be going back.

We paid twice as much for apples up the road and had to pick them ourselves. Every apple variety had descriptive signs around it. The staff could answer every question. We even got some awesome tomatoes. If you’re looking for superior apples, the best prices, and knowledgeable staff, Freeman Orchards is your place.

This is the place to get apples if you are not looking for playgrounds or corn mazes. It was the perfect experience...lots of varieties, they were all looking very good for showing up at the end of the season. Lastly they will let you try before you buy...fantastic!!!! We tried some we had never had before and ended up leaving with a mixed bushel. Definitely worth the drive from Chattanooga. Now the wifey has plenty to do making apple butter and other apple goodies! This is our new yearly destination for apples!

We absolutely love this place. The staff here are super friendly and I believe I got the opportunity to speak with the owner as well. All around great people and delicious apples. They have a type called Roxbury Robust (I might have mispronounced) but it’s a must try! I simply can’t wait to come back.

Is a nice place. You can see many varieties of apples. The people are nice

Best orchard in the area. Discovered them last year and now this will be our yearly orchard trip. Great selection, fresh, tasty. Staff/family are very friendly and helpful. Not too crowded as this is a store/warehouse with no other attractions. We definitely enjoyed many years of family trips to another orchard several miles away because we had young kids who enjoyed picking apples and playing on their various builds for kids, but now that it is just the two of us, this quieter setup with smaller crowds fits the bill. Definitely the best and largest variety in the area...and the fried pies are pretty awesome too!

Great wines and welcoming staff. The views here are just beautiful. Can’t wait to be out on the patio looking over the vineyard and seeing the mountain ranges this summer! The grounds are well taken care of and there’s a charming cozy feeling walking into the main cabin building. Visiting in the winter a wood fire and well decorated interior really made everyone feel right at home. There were options for food and meads/brews for those who didn’t want wine. Our group had a fantastic time and will return!

I came here for wine tasting this past week. Lovely location with a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere, and beautiful views of the rolling hills all around the winery. There is both inside and outside seating. The outside seating includes lounge chairs and tables with chairs. The inside has picnic tables, and plastic tables and a register at one end where they have the wine bottles from which they pour. There is no centralized feeling to the place such as a tasting counter, which I heard other people express disappoint in. There is a nice viewpoint outside that people use for weddings. I really appreciate that they have vegetarian gluten-free pizza (along with the usual regular pizza choices) available. Not the best, but still nice to have something filling on the menu. They also have nuts and chocolate-covered raisins, as well as chocolate truffles available for $3 a piece. I had a wine flight and was disappointed by the fact that they don't have any sort of guided selection of wines. They hand you a paper and tell you to choose 5 wines and one mead like you would choose toppings for a deli sandwich. So, no input or discussion on their wines. The next disappointment was that they served the tastings in shot glasses. Nothing like wine served in shot glasses to break the fun wine experience you were going for. It felt more like going to a college students' house where they were missing the proper stemware. I was hoping the wine itself would make up the other disappointments. However, I didn't taste anything good enough to buy. Sadly, their reds are acidic and unbalanced and their whites are not worth getting as a full glass. There was no smoothness to their Cabernet or Malbec that you expect in good wine. In all, I'd say skip the wine tasting. Order a single glass so at least you can drink it in a proper wine glass and enjoy the gorgeous views. Don't expect to be wowed by their wines.

Absolutely love the spectacular views, staff is so friendly & helpful in choosing a wine, food is available -we purchased a cheese plate. My husband & I played some card games and really enjoyed the afternoon. 🙂 Point Lookout is pet friendly - on a leash- we don't have a pet-and they even have a cute book exchange stand- I forgot to take a picture.

We were Harvest Host guests last week. We so enjoyed our stay and look forward to stopping by again sometime. The wines were so tasty and the views were spectacular.

We had the pleasure of meeting Christie and her son Lee while visiting Point Lookout. The wine was great, but this dynamic team never stopped. They made sure every guest was checked on multiple times, picked up litter, delivered food, bussed tables and even helped a fellow that became dizzy and fell from the heat (your building is in desperate need of fans). We came, as your slogan says for the wine, enjoyed the view and were amazed by these two lovely, knowledgeable people. They didn’t rush us, they answered our questions and were attentive to our every need. We sure hope they are there when we come back through in September. We have entertained the idea of having our daughter’s wedding there in the spring, but we would only commit to that if assured these two phenomenal folks would manage it and supervise the event. You can’t possibly pay enough for the character and work ethic they poured into their jobs that night. You could hire two more like them and get rid of the rest of the staff that held up the register or stood propped against the front two tables. -Kathy and Todd from Florida

I recently visited Point Lookout Vineyards while celebrating my birthday in Hendersonville, and it was such a wonderful experience. I especially enjoyed the Petit Verdot and Cabernet—both were excellent. The views are absolutely amazing, and I loved that the vineyard is pet-friendly so I could bring my dog along while traveling. It’s such a great spot to relax, sip wine, and take in the peaceful mountain scenery. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area!

Beautiful view, even if it was in the winter. Cold inside this time of year, so dress warm. They do have heaters and a fireplace, but still cool. There weren't many people when we first got there but did get plenty busy after being there a little while. Worth the drive and can't wait to see it again in the spring or next fall.

Was a very beautiful hike to to the top, once at the top you get hit by the amazing view. Feels amazing to see the horizon or the cows just minding their own business munching away and walking. Awesome place for a picnic with family and friends.
Juan M — Google review
Incredible views! We found the back access to the trail, as advised, since Helene road repairs are apparently extensive (10/25). For being a short person, the stone/boulder and tree trunk steps were a bit awkward for me to navigate, but it helped having someone to pull me up. I think they may have been installed by soneone well over 6 ft tall. Porta potties at the trailhead were a mess, but necessary for a lot of people, greatly appreciated. When we got yo the top of the bald, a truck was hauling the pirta potties away from up there. Do, indeed, believe reports of vow pues and watch your step... be careful to not drop your water bottle *from my own experience. Coulpd even see the smouldering stump and mulch dump that has been burning for weeks. After spending about an hour at the top when a (drunk) stranger insisted on telling us all the names If each mountain - which was nice to know, but took longer than we hoped - we took the gravel path back down, which was also interesting. It's nice to have a place nice to hike near us, even if challenging for short legs. Plenty of parking on the road, we'll marked for spacing.
Cat M — Google review
Super pretty area with cows at the top of the hike. Be aware seeing the cows is not a guarantee, but they’re often there! While the hike is relatively short, be aware that getting there is almost all uphill and then what goes up must come down to get back to the car. The cows were worth it though!! 🐮
Rebecca D — Google review
I highly recommend this trail if you love cows and want to see them on the pasture at the top of the mountain. It is a one mile hike easy-to moderate hike from parking to the top of the mountain/pasture. This trail is also pet friendly. Some parts of it are a little rocky, uphill, and flat. Has some cow dung so watch out. The last 1-2 miles drive to the trail head is narrow (if you are coming from Lake Lure/Chimney Rock/Gerton) and a gravel road. If you feel like you don't know where you are going, you are actually on the right road. The reward is the beautiful cows grazing at the top of the mountain if you are lucky
Trix M — Google review
Was hoping we would see the cows on this hike and we were not disappointed! Breathtaking views. So happy we chose to hike this trail on this lovely Saturday. Perfect distance and not too strenuous. Will be returning in fall!
Hannah K — Google review
Spectacular accessible hike. Go early and avoid the traffic. Gorgeous canopied hike mainly uphill and then fully exposed to impeccable near panoramic views.
Emily F — Google review
We hiked a short distance on a cool fall day. It was a relatively moderate hiking trail. We will plan a longer excursion next time!
Rosemary S — Google review
Went on a cold, windy day New years weekend, and it was busy. There is still a good amount of street parking for about 30 cars. I would suggest starting the loop to the right first. It's a moderate hike going mostly uphill but well maintained besides the usual mud and ice during the winter season. The view is beautiful of the local mountain ridges, no cows when we went, but look out for the cowpies. Overall, I'd say check it out if you're looking for a short, easy hike with a view.

🤯🤯🤯&🤯 Stone Ashe Vineyards was recommended to my wife and I by Larry the owner of Asheville Wine Market. We bought a few bottles from him & told him the wineries we were visiting during our stay at 1900 Inn on Montford. 1900 Inn 5Stars ⭐️ on Google / 4Star Hotel / Bed & Breakfast. Have stayed here on 3 different occasions. Enough said 😁 We went to Stone Ashe on Thursday & were taken back by Absolutely breathtaking views and ambience of Stone Ashe. The place looks Brand New. NO one under **21 explains that. Extremely Happy with this Policy 😁 We tried everything they had & let me 1st say we couldn’t believe what we were experiencing. Coming from Richmond Virginia and having had the pleasure of experiencing most if not all the Winery's in Charlottesville VA. 2023 Wine 🍷 Region of the Year. Stone Ashe is on par with the Best Charlottesville has or exceeds them. We came back on Friday to just make sure this place was the real deal!?! We walked out with a case of 8 different wines. We had told another couple that were staying at 1900 Inn Thursday night about our experience and that we were planning on going back Friday. They actually canceled there Friday plans and went as well. We saw them Friday night and they told us they were also highly impressed and had bought a case of different wines also. If you are in the area and want to experience something Truly Special then Stone Ashe Vineyards is a must. Truly Exceptional Wines 🍷, Family Owned, 100% Estate Grown & Bottled. Over the Top Service & Impeccable Cleanliness!!!! We are looking forward to coming back next year. ❤️

On a recent trip to Hendersonville for my birthday, we stopped by Stone Ashe Vineyard for a wine tasting, and it was such a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and helped me choose the perfect glass of red to try. We also enjoyed some homemade chocolates that were absolutely to die for. I really appreciated that the vineyard is pet-friendly, so I could bring my dog along while traveling. It’s the perfect stop to enjoy beautiful views, delicious wine, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely visit again on my next trip!

Stone Ashe is one of the most peaceful vineyards I have ever visited! My husband and I had both of our parents join us here on a visit to have them get to know each other better, and we very much appreciated the fact that it was 21+ so that we were able to enjoy a quiet and peaceful atmosphere! The view is stunning, the ambiance is A+, the wine is delicious, and the staff is beyond professional and friendly! Will definitely be visiting again!

Stone Ashe is simply the best place to enjoy wine in western NC!! Truly appreciate the adult only atmosphere where you can relax and savor a great glass or bottle of wine. When Amy and me found Stone Ashe by accident, after Covid, I was not a wine drinker. Now, I love my Stone Ashe wines 😉 The staff is first rate, hospitable, and ready to discuss their wines & the process to make a great bottle of wine. Always our #1 go to & looking forward to more visits. 🤩🤩

Not only the most beautiful vineyard but my brother proposed here and the staff were SO accommodating and sweet!! They made my brother’s proposal so special and allowed me to move things around to make it perfect! They were so inviting and I couldn’t be more thankful! I would definitely recommend! And the wine is amazing! They went out of their way to help me and make the moment special and I am so appreciative!

I cannot recommend Stone Ashe more!!! Their gorgeous venue is a perfect place for your adult hideaway!! The Wines are amazing, the staff if so friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you have a perfect visit! Worth a stop every time you visit Asheville!!

Wow! What a beautiful vineyard to celebrate important events or to just catch up with friends. I went this past weekend to catch up with out-of-town family, and couldn't have been happier. The adult-centered, child-free environment added to the peaceful and sophisticated atmosphere. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable; every need was met with professionalism and grace. The tour of the winery and fermentation process was informative and Lisa was very knowledgeable and personable. Though we love our children, it was a pleasant break to be in an adult-only venue. I highly recommend this little slice of heaven to any wine-lover.
Miranda B — Google review
My wife and I have been coming to Stone Ashe Vineyard frequently since 2021. We love it. The wines are French right and left bank style and excellent! Their wines are amazing and views are stunning! Their wines are estate grown and produced on site. They use biodynamic principles that use no pesticides, herbicides, or unnecessary additives. Their wine is clean and the best in WNC and beyond. They have received numerous awards. Besides all that, their customer service is friendly and excellent. The servers are knowledgeable about the wines and make excellent recommendations. It shows that they enjoy their work. Lastly, we do appreciate that Stone Ashe is one of two local vineyards that are for 21 and older customers only. It’s nice to relax and socialize in an adults only venue. If you enjoy fine wine, excellent customer service, and a beautiful view in an adults only venue, I highly recommend Stone Ashe Vineyard!

It's well maintained and free admission state park. The entrance has the most famous bear for every elementary kid - smoky the bear. There are retired helicopter and tractor plow exhibits on-site with audio instruction. The talking tree trail is one of the easiest loop with 0.5 mile around 30 minutes for kids to go thru, and audio introduction for black birth, white oak, yellow poplar, white birch, hickory trees. Kids certainly will learn a lot at the end of the trail.
Qiyi Y — Google review
My two year old and I walked the Talking Tree trail... however I was disappointed in the trail as the majority of it was lined with poison ivy. It's extremely difficult to walk with an excited and energetic toddler when the plants all along the trail are harmful. I really wanted to love this park but the trails are not toddler friendly with the poison ivy everywhere we looked. I understand that it is a state forest and poison ivy is an aggressive native plant... but. Be aware that it is there. It's a good easy walk for adults, but not for very young children that like exploring (again because of poison ivy). I will say that the parking area and picnic areas are very well maintained.
Beth G — Google review
Wow! Total gem of a place!! We took our 2 year old and he LOVED it! We did the Talking Tree Trail - super cute! There are buttons you press to tell you about the marked tree on the path (see photo). Very fun! The trail was easy to walk (well marked, well maintained, clear step ups for inclines) and they really thought about the kids that would be walking - they estimated 30 minutes and it was 30 minutes at our toddlers pace. Loved how kiddo freely that was. Good clean bathrooms, lots of picnic tables, and it rained all day beforehand and yet it was not muddy or wet - so happy we stopped!!

Enjoyed a somewhat hidden gem of a forest/park, with something for everyone .. easy hikes, strenuous mountain trails, great views, talking trees and -- my favorite: a firetower, along with a recording of old Firetower Lookouts talking about fires! Very cool .. and my trailhound Rigby enjoyed it all ..

I had yesterday off and Tim and I visited Holmes Educational State Forest - a place we have wanted to check out for a while. Definitely a place we will take our grandsons! My pictures are of the Talking Tree Trail, the many brooks throughout this fun place and a beaver dam built on Crab Creek. One trail featured forest fire fighting equipment and another is the Soil and Water Trail which is near and dear to our family since Tim's dad worked for the Soil and Water Conservation Service.

Older and dated educational Forest. Great place to take young kids. Short well paved trails. Talking forest has recordings for young kids about nature.

Wildflowers galore! I felt like I was walking in a fairy forest. I went shortly after a rain shower and the plants were glistening. There are small water falls to see too. Another new discovery for me. There is one longer hike a several shorter trails to walk. Lots of interpretive signs too. The Talking Tree trail has these educational stops where you can listen to a "talking tree" to learn fun facts about the forest. Dogs on leach are welcome. I imagine lots of schools come here for field trips. I'll be returning for sure!

I thought the winery was very nice. Great decor, nice place to sit outside, and great service. The wines to me were just ok. I only drink red wines and all except 1 were very sweet. Was hoping for a more full bodied dry red wine and I couldn't find that here. Would have been 5 stars if they did.

Loved this tour. The llamas and alpacas were all very sweet and gentle. Issac and Allie the husband and wife team were knowledgeable and grew up raising llamas so they knew their stuff. They gave you snacks to feed the animals. The information part of the llama tour was very interesting.then we had an an obstacle course where we were each able to choose a llama or alpaca and walk it through the course. Very fun and then we went to the stream and the llamas went in to cool down. All in all it was a great price for great tour. I highly recommend anyone who wants to pet and get to know these creatures should come to this farm. They also had an apple orchard trek in the cooler months, which would be something I would want to do at another time.
Tiva L — Google review
We did a llama trek, walking the llamas through the apple orchard, and had the most wonderful time. The llamas are sweet as can be and so soft to snuggle. The staff is lovely and kind. Our kids are already begging to go back!
Heather — Google review
Their Grand-opening was on a Friday from 4-7pm. (July 2025). FABULOUS. They had lost building and all the farm equipment, but no human or llama lives were lost in Hurricane Helene (Sept 2024). These are show llamas, so they are trained NOT to spit. On their normal operating hours, you need to make an appointment for their obstacle course (1hr $25pp), guiding a llama (1 1/2 hr trail $80) and other events "birthdays", etc. This was one of our BEST days out in Hendersonville. Highly recommend.

A great experience for animal lovers of all ages!

Really cool experience, I definitely recommend. Will for sure be an experience that my wife and I remember from our North Carolina trip. You DO get to pick the llama you walk with out of the llamas that the staff have staged and ready for the walk on that day. So, get there like 5-10 minutes before your session starts so that you get first pick of the llamas. My wife and I had Sassy and Missy. Both were very easy to walk with and neither of them ever came close to biting and/or nibbling on fingers or clothing or anything. They just wanted the leaves and grass on the ground. Very sweet critters. I would assume it is required anyways but, if not, definitely buy tickets ahead of time. Our group had 6 people buy tickets so when we showed up, they had 6 llamas all ready to go on the walk.

We always have the best time at this family-run orchard! My husband, son, and I felt so welcomed by Mike, the owner, and his wonderful family. This year we picked delicious Winecrisp apples, admired the beautiful flowers, and enjoyed plenty of fun photo ops around the orchard. I got to sample their hard cider, while my husband and son loved the apple cider donuts and refreshing apple slushy. Visiting here has become a special fall family tradition for us, and we look forward to it every year. Highly recommend! 🍎🍂

What you might not know... is that this is part of larger multi-generational story! I mean it's right there on their website, but I used to visit Hunsader farms as a kid in Bradenton, FL, and had no idea that Jeter Mtn Farm was started by their kids! Small world! And fortunately, they've carried along the commitment to quality and tasty farm-style fixins! This place is like Dollywood with apples (and hard cider)! We've been visiting yearly and this is now a family tradition for us. We love this farm (and I suspect they have a great family too!).

Loved this place so much! Came to visit the last weekend for U-pick. Still many apples on trees. The apples are the most juicy apples I have ever had! It is set up very well so even though it is super busy it isn’t overwhelming. Loved the wagon ride out to the orchard, beautiful scenery. HIGHLY recommended potato soup, it’s the best potato soup I’ve ever had. Also the bathrooms are very clean and private.

Loved Jeter Farms. Spent the day with family, apple picking. It is one of the best orchards I've visited. Lots of parking. Kind Staff 👨‍🌾👩‍🌾 The apples are delicious and the grounds are very well kept. Reasonable prices to fill a basket and ride the tractor / wagon. Kids loved the indoor play area. Loved their apple pie ice cream. Yum! The market is so adorable and huge and well stocked. There is a coffee bar, apple cider bar and bakery area. Bbq and more! Something for everyone. Bathrooms were also very clean and plentiful. A beautiful and comfortable outing for all. Thank you Jeters Farms 🚜 🍎🍏🌳

Jeter Mountain Farm is the perfect fall getaway! The orchard is absolutely breathtaking. Surrounded by rolling hills and stunning mountain views. Picking apples here is such a fun experience for all ages, and the variety of apples is perfect. The cider (especially the cider float) is fantastic!! The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the whole place has such a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere. Between the wagon rides, the market, and the live music, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. I can’t wait to come back next season! 🍎🍂

Jeter Mountain Farm was a great time! The (free) tractor pulled wagon rides out to the orchards was a lot of fun! The music was very good and the atmosphere was 👌 . Delicious apple cider. Great store. The apples we picked made a delicious applesauce that we canned. We will definitely visit again!

This was our first visit to Jeter Farms and we were impressed! The offerings are wonderful with U-pick apples, Market, Bakery, Creamery, Barbecue, and Playground. We enjoyed the live music while sipping on cider flights and enjoying warm doughnuts from their bakery. The Market is beautifully done - from candles and saices to their cider and apple pies. Our favorite of the day was their Seasonal Brandy Cider - a must try! We're already looking forward to their Christmas events!

What a wonderful place! We visited last Saturday and arrived 30 minutes after it opened and parking was already filling up. Thankfully they have plenty of space to park. We tried the cider flight and it was delicious, ended up buying 6 cans of hard cider for home. The kids playground is great, covered and indoors. My son played there for 2.5 hours which is amazing considering kids nowadays are glued to their tablets. He loved being able to pick his own flowers and fruit. They also have a restaurant and gift shop, the Mac and cheese was excellent. Definitely a great family friend place to visit and enjoy the outdoors.

A must visit for any craft beer enthusiast. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great variety of beers. Taps are slightly higher priced than usual, but there are some really good deals in the cooler. A weekly go to for me.

Excellent selection of bottles and taps. I love their tap selection that it’s very different from everyone else in town and you get to try beers from all over the country. Always find new bottles and cans to try.

Great place to find good quality options that other bottle shops don’t have. Barkeep and staff are super friendly and attentive. Small local crowd with plenty of seating. Well worth swinging by for a pint. Cheers !!

What a gem in Henderson County! The Blue Door Bottleshop has a great selection of beer, ciders, and wine from across the nation. I really enjoy how the store is laid out by regions. You can also come here and enjoy a draft drink!

Great staff, selection and overall experience! They have an awesome selection of both on tap and bottled/can beers, wines, ciders, meads and more! They also have games and tvs if you want some entertainment. We got a few beers I've been wanting to try for fair prices.

It doesn't seem like a secret since it's talked about, but man is this place a gem. From the great pro shop to the expanding trail network, this is a place I keep coming back to over and again. I can't sing enough praise for them staying late to get my bike back up and working when my tubeless tape and valves failed. They had the parts and the willingness (staying late) to make sure I could ride the next day. A+

UPDATE: I honestly did not realize this place charged a fee. I lived in a country for a number of years that had bigger parks like this and they are free. But I understand why they need to charge here, as they own the property, care, etc. But I will not be paying a fee to ride, glad I accidentally tried it out! ☺️ Really impressed with this place, trails well cared for and most in good shape.

Jack Brown was punctual and listened to what my goals were out of my 2 hour lesson. We worked on confidence going into berms and coming out with speed. We were able to session some berms since I had an early start. Jack listened to my concerns and observed my riding and was able to give me confidence and feedback on what I needed to do to get better. I also worked on drop technique, body movement and was just a genuine pleasure to talk to on our climbs back up. I highly recommend taking a lesson from Jack Brown as he makes you feel comfortable and his riding skill is superb. Great listener and communicator.

Well groomed and the dirt was super tacky. Perfect day at the park! We also had a small issue with our brakes on a new bike and the staff was more than willing to jump in and fix it for us! We will be back soon.

Great park with variety of trails with different skill levels. Nice shop and jump park beside the parking lot.

I had a great coaching session with Walker Shaw. First, he took the time to look over my bike and gave me some really helpful suggestions on setup and adjustments, which made me feel more confident before we even hit the trail. He then assessed my riding to get a clear sense of where I’m at, which was reassuring because it showed he wanted to meet me at my level. From there, he walked me through the fundamentals of cornering, jumps, and drops. What I really appreciated was how clearly he explained everything—he broke each skill down into simple, easy-to-follow steps that made sense right away. I left the session with practical techniques I can keep practicing and a much better understanding of how to progress. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I’d recommend his coaching to anyone looking to improve their skills and confidence on the bike.

Pretty sick lil bike park for NC. I came here for my first time from previously riding the Rocky Mountains. I ended up going on a day that wasn't too busy due to light rain, so the big jump line was closed, however the rest of the trails were mostly open and were still a blast to ride. They have put in a ton of sweat equity to this place and I can appreciate the amount of effort in designing and crafting such a fun place to shred. The pedal up on an Enduro bike(160/170) isn't too bad, but I could have even taken a less aggressive and more nimble trail bike (130/140) and still would have had fun, even a hardcore hardtail could suffice for 65%-70% of the trails. They have e-bikes to rent, but honestly, even though that would have maybe netted me a few more laps, an e-bike is not necessary. An analog bike is much more fun and snappy on the descents. The trails skill levels range from super beginner and cater all the way to the tastes of advanced-expert riders. There is literally something for everyone, even the kids, but they would probably still need a bike with pedals. I definitely plan to go back sometime. Hopefully with better weather so the jump line will be open.

This place is amazing. I am not a jumper but the flow trails were so much fun and so well maintained. Old school riding up the hill all day so got in an excellent workout and then rewarded with a downhill thrill. Later in the day I went up the Copper Rd then hopped on the trails, that way I did not have to go the whole way up the hill I.e. you can access the trails lower from the road.
