Birdseye is predictably unpredictable… the food generally tastes great but you order will be wrong every time. It’s like a mystery but when you have food allergies it’s probably not worth the risk… my family love this place so we eat there often and rarely if ever eat what we ordered how we order it! Too bad too the restaurant has potential to be truly great but the disconnect is the service! In closing todays experience was a burnt bbq skewer broken of in my drunken noodles and we got shorted on rice every damn time we eat there and today was no different, we end up having to make our own rice because no one wants to go back to complain! Probably the last time we will eat here at my insistence! I’m just done!

Absolutely outstanding - best Thai food we’ve had outside of Thailand. Noodles had that elusive awesome wok hay flavor (I know that’s a Chinese concept but not sure how to describe the Thai equivalent). Our server was super friendly and efficient- food came out lightning fast. We ordered the fried eggplant, the basil stir fry with beef, and the Chow Fun with tofu. Only wish we had more people in our party so we could try more things.

Food was really good! We ordered the salmon with broccoli, marinated olives and a delicious salad. The fish was seasoned so well and it tasted very fresh! Salad was very crisp and had a good flavor. We had a beautiful view of the ocean while we were eating our meal! Our server was very nice and was able to assist with our food sensitivity to dairy. So, the chef was able to delete butter and used oil instead to prepare our meal. They were very accommodating; which we appreciated very much!

Had the veg curry noodles which was something different. And delicious it was! Lovely atmosphere.

I wish I had photos of the food here (it’s always so good I forget to take them). I love the ambiance, decor, service, and food here. This is also a great take out spot too! Recs: pad see ew noodles (beef or chicken), pho, any cocktail (can’t go wrong), and mango sticky rice (if it’s in season). I also love that they have Thai iced tea with coconut milk -super creamy and yummy. Also this place is great for you if you’re gluten free (rice noodles are in all noodle dishes or you can swap for them), vegetarian, and/or vegan. If you’re like me and love meat, they have plenty of that too.

Food was great! Staff was very accommodating for our parties needs and size. Loved the fact that the meats were organic. Definitely a change from Thai options that we have back home. Also we loved the location! Wish we knew they had parking out back. Definitely a place we will go back to the next time we are in town!

Pretty nice. Been here twice. They clearly have some good talent in the kitchen. Food was not perfect, yet was fast flavorful and interesting. Pictures is the Tom Yum shrimp. Come here often still. Upping review to 5 stars. This is probably the best place in town.

Lamb tikka masala was tender and sweet (would recommend) but the butter chicken was too dry. My wife also said the naan was delicious (thin and crispy).

I’ve had the pleasure of eating here twice and I can’t wait to go back again. The staff are super friendly and the food is high quality. Definitely a new favorite spot to eat! I’m vegetarian so I appreciate they have a nice selection of vegetarian items. The chai tea is delicious and alone worth going back for more.

It's ridiculous how much I loved this food when I ordered delivery this past year. I just finally had a chance to sit down with my kiddo and have the restaurant experience. This food tastes even better served fresh! Omg, I'm so happy with how delicious it is😍😍😍

Me and my family love this spot. Probably our favorite takeout/delivery spot. However, it’s even better when you dine-in. The food is good. The prices are good and their chicken is unusually good for an Indian restaurant. I really like their korma whether it’s veggie or chicken. I also really like their sizzling chicken dishes but you have to dine there in person for those.

Food is decent, 3 stars. Serviceperson is friendly, 1 plus star. Parking is at the back and always plenty available, I didn't see it and drove around, so you don't have to ^_^ Goat meat is the best one, the chopped red and green peppers are fresh, crisp, and soaked with the meat juice, very enjoyable. Goat meat is tender and savory. Other dishes are light and true to the original Indian and Nepalese flavors. Garlic naan is decent too. Momo is authentic, but if you have tried Xiao Long Bao or Ding Tai Feng, you can skip this.

Asian fusion comfort food at its best! Incredible food and very friendly service. Our server was super nice and unleashed an avalanche of insanely delicious orange chicken onto our plate. The chicken was juicy with a tempura-like breading that was light and crispy. Mental portion size! The shrimp lo mein was equally amazing with that smokey wok flavor and melt-in your-mouth eggplant. So dang good! 100% will be back to explore the menu!

Got a late lunch at Chiko and it was stellar! We ordered the orange chicken, the Korean fried chicken, and the bulgogi rice cakes. The orange chicken was so flavorful and the meat was so tender—my favorite dish by far. It really feels like Asian comfort food, with great portion sizes for the price The workers were also all so great!! The chefs came out personally with the dishes and explained them to us, such a great way to help us fully enjoy our experience. And they offered us a dessert on the house which truly took our lunch here to the next level We came here for the food but would come again next time for both the food AND the great service :’)

Beware of random 5% service charge added at the VERY END of your order. I had already added a tip, as I always do. Then when I saw my receipt, I realized it was over the “total” quoted as I completed my order. This will be the last time I ever give my business to this company. There is no “menu” and no employee taking the order. When you enter, you are instructed to choose a table then use your smartphone to scan a barcode to access an online menu. Then you enter your order, yourself, on your phone. According to the employees and a small blurb that finally appears, AFTER you hit “Pay”, the “Management” claim the 5% service fee they are randomly charging is to “offset” wage increases and benefits”. I am extremely disappointed to write that this is now their modus operandi, in addition to menu items increasing in price between 20-35% (the sides like Kimchi and cucumbers were $3 a couple of years ago and are now $4.50 each or $4.25 if you order all 5. The taste of the food is alright, however, the interior air is extremely toxic with the smoke from the stir fry . From the expression on the face of the employees, when I expressed my exception to this unexpected “service charge”, I was not the first to complain. The place is very loud, too. They play music louder than necessary, IMO. Although the flavors are acceptable, don’t expect your meal to be healthful. The poor brussel sprouts were fried, until they were black and oily, when you bite into them. Bear in mind that any food that is “blackened” has carcinogenic chemicals, as a result of the blackening. A pity because if they had been steamed and then the spicy sauce added, afterwards, it could have been a relatively healthful dish. The salmon was ok. Large enough to share. If I’d known that there were Brussel sprouts in the dish, I wouldn’t have ordered them separately. Nevertheless, for this price point, I’ll dine elsewhere.

By far the best Asian food in the area. The shrimp porridge is so flavorful and yummy. The appetizer assortment is divine. It’s not a place to sit around and linger but the food is delicious. A must try if you’re in Encinitas.

This food is amazing! Consistently delicious, with a wide variety of good flavors. I love the fusion of flavors, awesome style! There are always new creations coming out of the kitchen, too! Whoever is making the dessert, kudos to you!

This place rocks! We had the orange chicken, garden noodles, and pork potstickers. The ingredients are quality and the portions are generous. Great experience.

I LOVED the staff at Chiko! All so kind, knowledgeable and personable! The food was really great too - I had no idea how Chinese and Korean flavors could elevate each other in such interesting ways! The cucumber-ginger lemonade is a must!

So was pleasantly surprised with HapiFish I will say I have been to quite a few sushi places across California and a few out of state as well and I will say hands down this is the best sushi I have had the pleasure of eating, the quality is amazing and a good variety of rolls and the flavors were phenomenal between the "El Jefe" roll or "The Last Samurai", I can't recommend this place enough and I will definitely be coming back.

Fish tacos were bland and not worth the $8. Had the El Jefe roll and it was tasty with the spicy tuna. Probably won't be back as nothing stood out and too many places to try to go back for what I would call an average place.

Amazing! If I lived here, I'd eat here at least once or twice a week. Very unique beers, the match ipa was one of my favorite, chased by the house saki. Food is great, rolls are a little on the pricier side, but you get quality and great service. Great for date nights.

Great casual sushi spot. Perfect to hang out with friends or bring the family. Our server Pete was extraordinarily friendly and had great knowledge of the menu. And HapiFish is significantly less expensive than most other sushi bars without sacrificing any quality. Been here before and will definitely come back.

We had a good time. The waiter was great. Don't remember his name but he is Filipino and from Philadelphia. If you see a waiter of the description, ask for him to serve you. The sushi and lobster wrap was good and pricing was right for the area. Enjoy!

Customer service is such a big deal in the restaurant business so I pay attention to my servers. The young girl that waited on us was so sweet and such a big help. It's hard to find great servers now a days in Southern California! Food was great, fried cheesecake was even better!

Karelly was our server and she was excellent. She asked us if it was our first time there, it was. Then she explained the Monk Bowl to us and how to order it. She took her time and answered every question we had and made it easy for us to understand. The food was really really good! The portions are huge, I do mean huge. You will be taking some home with you. The two sauces on the table were very tasty. One of them was sweet n spicy and the other was soy sauce plus their extra flair to it. We also had the pork and shrimp pot stickers. These were excellent as well as everything else. The soy type sauce used with the pot stickers was very yummy. I forgot to take before pictures but here's what it looked like after we dug in. Words alone cannot describe how much we enjoyed this place. We will be back. Bobbi Jo and Jeff

I had an incredible experience at East Village! The Monk Bowl is absolutely delicious—packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. Every bite was a treat, and the presentation was on point. What truly made the experience memorable, though, was my server, Will. He was not only friendly but also incredibly helpful in explaining the menu and guiding us through some of their best options. His recommendations were spot on, and his attentive service made the meal even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back for more! Highly recommend this place!

We love this place! Been coming here on vacations for the last decade. Always a good highlight of the entire trip. Never found a restaurant like it. Lots of great memories here. So sad to see it closing soon. GO TRY IT! Big love.

Carlos was our waiter, and the busser I can't remember his name were very professional and kind, and after we were seated and ordered Carlos had our food to us in less than 5 minutes on a busy Saturday night. The service was phenomenal. The food was out-of-this-world delicious. If you want quick yummy healthy food with a slight spice you'll love East Village Asian Diner.

Great place! it was super busy so we had a bit of a wait. The service was good and the food came out as quick as you'd expect. The menu was really unique and fun. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because the food was a bit underwhelming. It was good! It just missed big flavor, a fulness, and a good mouthfeel. Next time I'd get two eggs on the Mongolian Monk Stone Pot.

Our server Taylor made our night so nice. He is very kind and patient. He knows the menu very well and has great recommendations! I got the hot pot bowl with tofu and it had veggies, brown rice, a beautiful runny egg and it tastes like a little piece of heaven! My friend had the power beef noodles with veggies. She loved it too! The coconut shrimp was delicious! Loved the dipping sauce too. My most favorite is their Kimchi! I could eat my weight in kimchi. They make it so tasty and it's not spicy. I like it spicy too but their style is flavorful and easy to eat. So great! Also...I'm a big water drinker. Taylor kept that cup filled! Thanks Taylor! Another delicious item is the strawberry mochi. So creamy and soft. It was the perfect end to our meal. I will for sure be back!

When I’m feeling hungry and want some Chinese food, this is always my first stop. The portions, in my opinion, are huge for the price and I’m ways impressed with the flavors. Their service is also lovely, really receptive to what I want to get, offer suggestions, and make sure I always have what I need.

If you’re searching for the best Chinese food in San Diego, look no further than Chin’s Szechuan in Encinitas. This place truly lives up to its title of "Best Chinese Cuisine" by San Diego Magazine! Every dish we tried was full of bold flavor and perfectly cooked. The Cream Cheese Wontons were golden and crispy with a creamy, flavorful filling, I always order these. The Pot Stickers had that perfect pan-fried crunch and juicy inside. The Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings were lightly battered, seasoned just right, and incredibly addictive. My personal favorites were the Spicy Honey & Sesame Chicken, House Lo Mein, and Fried Rice with the egg on top. The staff told us the Pao Hu Pork and Kung Pao Chicken were customer favorites, and they were totally right! The restaurant itself has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere - perfect for date nights, family dinners, or casual nights out. Portions are huge (we had leftovers for days!), and service was quick and friendly. Chin’s has six locations across North County and San Diego, so it’s always nearby when the craving hits. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Get the spicy black pepper beef !!! Came here and was in the Encinitas area wanted to see what Chins was all about. Me and my buddy's came here and shared our food. We got the black pepper beef, imperial shrimp plate with scallops, orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, imperial noodle soup, crispy chicken dumplings and white rice. My favorite was the spicy black pepper beef. So yummy. 2nd was the orange chicken, 3rd was the walnut shrimp. Lots of seating inside, restaurant was clean and well taken care of. Our server helped us with the menu. Everything was great can't wait to come back !

We ordered a large company lunch takeout from Chin's Szechwan for over 50 employees, and they absolutely nailed it! Everything was neatly packed, well-organized, and arrived fresh, hot, and right on time. Coordinating an order of that size isn't easy, but they handled it flawlessly. The standout dishes were the broccoli beef lunch and the Szechwan garlic chicken lunch -- both were incredibly flavorful and cooked to perfection. The broccoli beef had that perfect balance of tender meat and crisp broccoli in a rich, savory sauce. The Szechwan garlic chicken was bold, garlicky, and had just the right amount of kick without overwhelming the dish. We also appreciated the variety included in the lunch boxes -- rice, sides (cucumber salad, egg roll, and a cream cheese wonton), and generous portions that left everyone satisfied. Several employees commented that it was the best takeout we've had for a team lunch, and I completely agree. Highly recommend for both small and large group catering. Will definitely be coming back to for our next team event!

Okkk listen now, everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The sweet & sour chicken, egg drop soup, and crispy wontons were so delicious, and the portions were generous. Chinese food cravings hit the spot & highly recommend!

I got the Honey Walnut Shrimp from Chin’s Szechwan in Encinitas, and it was amazing! I ordered it to-go, and even after bringing it home, the shrimp was still crispy and perfectly coated in that delicious honey glaze. The walnuts were fresh and caramelized just right — sweet, crunchy, and so good with the shrimp. You can really tell they care about quality and texture here. Definitely one of the best versions of this dish I’ve had anywhere. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

Today, I decided to treat myself to a late lunch, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The restaurant was pleasantly uncrowded, allowing for quick and attentive service. I indulged in two delightful combinations: a tender salmon teriyaki bursting with savory flavors and a crunchy roll that stole the show's perfect balance of textures. To warm me up on this rainy day, I also enjoyed a steaming bowl of miso soup, which was comforting and delicious. Overall, it was a fantastic lunch experience that satisfied and contented me.

We checked out the lunch specials and found several great options at reasonable prices. The menu also has many interesting roll options with pictures, which I really appreciated. The sushi chefs are out in the open and you can watch them but there are no seats at the sushi bar which I found a little odd but they have probably have a reason. Service was quick and efficient—the staff wasn't overly friendly but they were very on top of things, even when it got busy. A solid option; I'll be back.

Adding to place to our list of favorite sushi places, and they have several locations. We came here in a group of 7 and had a wait time of 20 mins. I personally think that it's not too bad at that time because it was a full house. When we sat down our server was kind enough to let us know that the kitchen was backlogged and might take more than 15 mins for our orders to come out. She took our orders as soon as we were ready. Their menu has a large selection to choose from and it might be overwhelming because of all the good food items you would want to order. We ended up getting several rolls to share and they came out much faster than we expected. My personal favorite and I highly recommend the Chirashi Sushi, I loved their North Coast Signature Roll and I enjoyed the Soft Shell Crab Hand Roll. Also, we were told that a part of the proceeds from the sales of the North Coast Signature Roll goes to a good cause. That's a great motivation for me to get it - and it was also really good. On top all the good things I shared here, what was really the best part was the freshness of the ingredients, how clean it was, and how generous the portions are. The rolls and the sushi were big and had more meat that rice/extenders. We will definitely come back here again!

My family and I love this place! The absolute best sushi in the tri-city area, probably even wider out than that. I have yet to run into something on the menu that I do not like. My favorite is the Super Mario roll, it comes with diced habanero and I add masago. The garlic edamame is awesome and the sauce at the end is great too. The drinks are good, beer options are nice, and the sake is amazing! The staff are always super friendly and very quick with service. Always nice music playing and the atmosphere has a nice vibe. It is a little darker which seems it is meant to help keep it cool. Bring a sweater, it gets chilly. Parking is scarce out front, but there’s parking to the side and in the rear. If it’sa weekend and you’re getting dinner, make a reservation!! It gets packed and it is totally worth the wait. We once waited 90 minutes for a reservation and my over stimulated kids didn’t mind the wait because the fare is so awesome. Do not hesitate to go for lunch or dinner!

Unless you’re dining in, online pick-up or delivery has yet to be correct. I’ve ordered twice online and either I was missing an item or they put the wrong order in my bag. Also, from the looks of other reviews on here, seems like online orders/delivery is a known issue at this location. However, I can say when dining in the customer service is great and of course what I ordered was correct.

Great sashimi and sushi. Definitely worth a visit. They have tuna belly and it was great. Sea urchin, vegetarian options, noodles and many more choices for everyone. You'll want a reservation as the wait can be long. Service varies depending on how busy they are.

Even though I ordered take out, I've eaten here before. People in the KNOW of Sushi eat here. If you are in the mood for a no nonsense sushi plate THIS place sums it up. It is a little weird how the door is where some people pay.ales it hard to stand inside the place without being in the 'way' and if you stand outside some people who just don't have manners just ho and 'hover' right over the people trying to pay. I wish there was a small entry way to avoid this but it doesn't adversely affect my opinions of the place being great.

I love the presentation the owner and staff were fantastic. And some of the best flavorful Thai food you will have in San Diego. Thai Society has been here for twelve years in Encinitas and is a staple of this town.

We had papaya salad, pad thai and crispy pork belly. All of them were amazing!! We finished everything. Pad thai and papaya salad go so well together too. The restaurant was also very cute, I love the decoration on the wall. The service was amazing too. Will definitely revisit.

Had an amazing business lunch today. We sat outside in the front patio and enjoyed a Thai Salad and two orders of Chicken fried rice. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of delicious flavors.Thai Salad was fresh and bursting with flavor. Service was excellent and attentive to all our needs. If you love Thai food this is the place for you.

Shocked that this place doesn’t have all 5 star reviews. It is by far the best Thai spot in north county SD! All their curries are amazing (Tends to be on the spicy side) and we also love getting their drunken noodles. A must-try!

We stopped in for an early dinner. It's a small restaurant with limited seating. Many people do takeout instead. We ordered 2 dinners and Spring Rolls as an appetizer. The spring rolls were good, but sticky and not wrapped tightly. They do give you plenty of sauces for the rolls. Kudos for that! I ordered the Wok Basil with chicken. It was delicious. The vegetables were crisp, the sauce was just the right temperature (spice wise). I usually get brown rice but got white this time. The rice was perfect. My wife is much more sensitive to certain tastes than I am and she couldn't eat her dinner because it was too salty. They tried to tone it down for her but we're not successful. At the end, the waitress suggested we order the low-sodium version of the dish next time. Wish we'd known that ahead of time.

Pad Thai was so original event better than in Bangkok. The dessert “Fried Banana Ice cream” was also refreshing.

Rolls somewhat dry and bland, just felt like eating rice with other flavors an after thought. Also little annoying things like barely filling my ponzu ramekin, dried out old ginger, and the eel roll being rice outside eel inside with not enough eel sauce. The woman serving us was loud and not polite. Also they charge a $2.95 credit card surcharge and I didn’t see that policy listed anywhere. I do not feel the meal we received was a decent value for $90, and will not come back here.

This is hands-down, the best sushi I've had outside of Japan. I've only been here twice in the past two years, but loved every moment of it. The folks there take good care of the fish they prepare as well as their guests.

THE BEST. No need to consider any other establishment. I don’t eat sushi anywhere else. After having lived in Japan for years, my sushi expectations are beyond high and Blue Fin satiates my fiercest of cravings. Chef Daisuke is a happy, sweet, skilled sushi master. Cheers him a beer when you’re there. They get quite busy so not a bad idea to make a reservation.

In a more traditional and quaint setting, this chef serves sushi that is nicely arranged and fresh tasting. Service was polite but slow, even though less than a quarter of the tables were occupied. If you’re looking for a more traditional sushi experience then you’ll find it here. The Japanese scallops, the ankimo, and the aji were memorable. Recommended.

Put in a take out order at 5 pm. It’s 650 and it’s not done yet. I was initially told 45 minutes but when I arrived, I was told anothe 30. When I got here a 2nd time, they haven’t started working on my order. I understand a busy Sunday but what will be over 2 hours for take out seems unacceptable. They offered me a beer but I rather get my food on time. Food is good and I have been here a bunch of times Sorry but 1 star and I am not coming back

Came here on the recommendation of a friend, and I'm glad we took the advice. This place is excellent. The fish is high quality, fresh, and of a wide variety not found at most sushi bars. The menu isn't full of crazy novelty rolls. The focus is on the fish. They way it should be, imo. The staff were all friendly, and we had an excellent conversation with the owner. We will definitely be back.

The best sushi in town goes without saying. Anyone who has been to Kaito Sushi knows this but the friendly service you didn’t think that. My psychological state would go through such a drastic improvement after visiting, and may have been the delicious sushi, which is the best in town and the eighth. Sapporo’s That I drank, but either way, I left with the most upbeat feelings And biggest smile After eating the delicious sushi, and interacting with the Incredibles staff. Highly recommend!

This has been our favorite sushi place since forever. We tried other places but we always come back here! The fish is fresh and delicious. The place always feels cozy and the staff is very nice. Don't miss the appetizers that are great, the Japanese fried chicken is amazing! After that you have a lot of choices, sashimi, rools, special mention to the eels one, my favorite. Dinning in or taking out- don't hesitate you won't regret it.

Bentonville box was bad, salad was covered in dressing so much it was like a soup salad. Only one guy was serving, taking orders and cashing people out. Salmon was so small and over smothered in teriyaki sauce. Edemames were not cooked enough and again the garlic dressing was overwhelming, you could only eat half since the rest were submerged in juice. First and last time coming here.

My new favorite sushi place in North County. A must visit. We called ahead in the morning and left a voice mail for reservations. Received a call back by a very friendly person and they had room for us at the sushi bar. If you go here sit at the sushi bar and make sure you call ahead they were busy. We absolutely loved the environment, staff, service, and of course the fresh sushi. We ordered omakase (sushi chef's choice) and everything, I mean everything was amazing!! Go here you will not be disappointed. Pro tip, they do run out of sushi (goes to show how busy they are) so for the most variety you may want to go earlier rather than later.

My friend and I were in the area, wanted to grab a quick lunch, saw this place tucked in the corner of the strip mall and thought to try. Atmosphere was OK, nothing special, bar in the front, seating in the middle and sushi bar at the end. Alejandro was our server. He was nice, friendly and attentive. We ordered a couple Sapporo and Sushi. We had Uni, Tuna Belly, Salmon, Smelt Eggs, Eel and Yellowtail Nigiri plus a Lunch special Roll Combo A + B. I couldn't put my finger on it, but the sushi was neither bad or good, just was sorta of blah tasting. Maybe blah like the presentation too. Atmosphere: OK. Food: OK. Service: very good.

Their roll of the month caught my attention when looking up a quick happy hour spot to eat not far from the ocean. El Chappo was as fitting a name as is the name of the restaurant. Big bold Mexican flavors topped with the decadent togarishi made this roll exquisitely satisfying and very filling! Although their roll of the month is not on happy hour, this particular roll was well worth 2 or 3 happy hour items just by itself. This place has a chill lounge atmosphere, exceptional service, and clean fresh delicious food! I definitely recommend it! I plan to return soon and definitely order from the happy hour menu!

Most of the sushi places I tried in Encinitas were fine, but definitely did not fulfill my craving. Whenever people want to get sushi in encinitas, this is the only place I recommend. The dishes are priced very fairly and their monday special of half off the chronic is amazing! The roll sizes are decent too. The highlight is definitely the appetizers though. I ordered most of them to try out and was surprised since they do small amazing differences in appetizers that are staples in most chain sushi restraunts. The shumai definitelt takes the cake. The sauce is so delicious. The service is always fast and friendly, even during the lunch or dinner rush. There is also tons of parking and is easy to access.

We ordered on door dash fish just seemed old. It smelled super fishy and low quality and we got stomach aches. Soooo much rice on each roll probably good for kids to fill them up but not good quality don’t recommend, won’t eat there again. It won’t kill you but not good

Good place for a nice meal. Very busy and loud. (I guess we showed up during happy hour or something). Food very nice presented and super tasty. Try "Ring of fire" if you like it spicy. Fried squid as a starter is a hit. Gyoza was okey, could have a bit more crunch to it. Over all, really good place. Service is really good, even when it's loyd and very busy. One strange thing though, TV over the sushi bar showing basket ball... feels a little bit off...and makes it even more "busy"/stressful.

Warm and friendly staff, very welcoming and my server was great about checking in with me without hovering. The location is clean and roomy for a strip mall restaurant. The only complaint I have is the sushi quality is not the best. Maybe the fancy rolls are better [per the other reviews I read], but I ordered a protein roll that listed the different types of fish it would include and I found that my favorite sashimi [Himachi] was barely represented in the roll.. which was overwhelmed with the other two fishes... this is not how a protein roll should be made...it should be equally balanced with each fish in the roll for balance. But that wasn't even the worst part... the flavor gave away the fact that the fish is NOT fresh. Thank Goodness for the ample amount of wasabi I was provided... no worries about illness, but I doubt I'll return to this location any time soon.

The food here is really good. I have had a lot of Tai food and this is one of the best tasting dishes I have had in awhile. I will be returning here soon.

It is actually ok. We did order 2 appetizers, not so great for 10 dollar each. ( plane chicken wings and greasy Thai wontons). On the other hand, the Pad Thai was good. Although, little or no protein in it. Would I come back? I wouldn’t.

Been going here since pre-covid and so glad it is still in business to this day. The best Thai place around. I have been trying various Thai places around North County to try and expand my options, and end up disappointed because they simply don't compare to here. Their basil noodles, spring/egg rolls, curries, are amazing. Their "pad see you" is unmatched—truly I have not had one anywhere close to as flavorful as here. Same with how they cook their tofu—it isn't deep fried prior to the dish so it absorbs all the flavor of the sauce and isn't sponge-y. I never order tofu except for here. The Thai tea is spectacular, I sometimes go just to get some. The only thing not too special is the boba. I like how soft it is, but its less tasty than other boba I've had. The boba is just extra though, not a staple to the restaurant, so its forgivable in my opinion. If you prefer less chewy boba though this may be the thing for you. I have brought many friends to this place to introduce them and they have been blown away. Some have come back here all the way from downtown because they enjoyed so much.

My "Pad See You" was very good, the lunch portion included soup and an egg roll. The service was prompt and pleasant. Upon arrival on a cold January day the front door was propped open. As a result the seating area in the restaurant was cold. The interior atmosphere is blah. The noise level was reasonable, it permitted easy conversation.

Excellent Tom Kha, full of veggies and Very tasty. Excellent service. They have Boba as well. A year later and I can say that the (Thai) Green Salad here is off the charts!!! Healthy, beautiful greens and plenty of goodness! The cost and quality are the absolute BEST in town. I love this place.

I have been here a few times. The food is very good and quite authentic. They have lots of special drinks as well. I recommend any of their curries.

Food was made incorrectly twice, and the girl who brought it to the table rolled her eyes and walked away and did not come back. When I brought the food to the front and asked for a refund because I had to go to an appointment and didn't have time to wait again for them to make it. They took ten minutes and said they could not return it to my card until a manager was there. Asked if I could call back to remind them....it must be really hard to get good help because the cooks were ready to help but the rest of the staff could have cared less! Food is usually good but not worth the bad experience!

I've frequented this place about 2-3 times per year since 1998 and have always had a good experience. We ordered food to go 2 nights ago only to get home and find a giant mosquito type bug in our ginger broccoli beef dish. My son discovered it becayse the antennas were moving!! We called and asked for a supervisor. They did apologize and are sending 2 $10 gift cards. I'm hoping they will examine the food more carefully as they're putting it into the to-go containers!

Food was good. Step up from Panda Express but step down from sister restaurant PF Chang's. Kids really liked the orange chicken. The lettuce wraps were OK. sweet and sour soup was also OK. Overall a good experience.

This place is the bomb! Never eat at panda express EVER again!!!!! Robert is the Man! Good food, fresh ingredients! The food is good and the service is great! Jamie can burn! Using their new punchh online ordering system is much easier now. You can even specify what time you want to pick it up later that day. They have a small but good Gluten free menu but the Pei Wei Spicy chicken is not that smooch unless you order it extra spicy. Get sauce on the side of you don't like your meal swimming in sauce, then add just how much you want. Is highly recommend subscribing to their promotions. $5 bowl Mondays, and coupons and weekly deals are worth it.

Definitely not the same as it used to be. When I went there, they were severely understaffed, with only one person working the register and delivering food. The place wasn't necessarily dirty but it certainly wasn't clean. I got the chicken coconut curry when I went there which was good but they barely gave me any chicken and literally filled half the plate with basil leaves. All in all, I left dissapointed and hungry and I probably not return for awhile.

The staff was very efficient and the restaurant was very clean. I like the new menu. I ordered the build your own Bento box, every item was freshly made. I really enjoyed it. I look forward to returning again.

Growing up in Encinitas, this place was the best sushi in town, bar none. A few years ago though, they had some kind of management shakeup, changed the name to Sushi Do, and lowered the quality of every ingredient (the crab was replaced with krab, the fish lost its flavor, etc.). They lost almost all of their business and changed the name back to Sakura Bana in an attempt to win back their audience, but they never brought their quality back up. Nowadays there are better places to go in Encinitas. I hope that Sakura Bana will come back to their former standards.

Consistent food. Great happy hour prices! Very very nice crew. Sad to say, after 30 years they are closed for good. We just went by and there is a big out of business sign. :( :( :(

Don't recommend this place. The fish is not very fresh, and the tuna was disgustingly mushy. Ok if you're just very hungry, but not if you're looking for quality Japanese food.

Maybe it's because I came during happy hour, but the sushi here was terrible. Could have sworn the seafood had gone bad. Good luck?

Sushi House is the best!!! The fish is so fresh!! They get it in almost every day. The chefs are creative and fun, the prices are reasonable. Sit at the bar to have a fun time watching the chefs make the dishes or get a table with great service and a full menu. My mom wouldn't eat sushi but she loved going in there with me and watching Jon make our food. Extremely clean too. My Japanese mother in law would fly in from Hawaii and want to go see Jon at the Sushi House. She was very picky about her sushi so that tells you something.

The quality of the fish has always been suspect. I usually like the atmosphere so I get salmon and yellowtail (fish that is consistent). Tonight the service was bad. It was pretty empty on a Friday night and it still felt like we were being ignored. We got red snapper and it was so bad we couldn’t eat it. I told the waiter it was suspect and he just said that it was fresh and that they had just opened it yesterday. :/ no credit back.

Everything is wonderful. Chef John is talented and funny, and everything I've ever eaten there is the best I've had anywhere. The Queen's Special is our favorite roll, hands down. We've been to a lot of sushi places all over, but this is the one we keep going back to. Also, if folks could continue to pressure him for a karaoke night I'd appreciate it. He has a voice that needs to be heard!

Above all other rolls, try the Queens Roll. It is sublime. The wait staff are great and we love Peter (raspy voice). Sushi is of good quality but not the best in San Diego. Still, it's a good value and a fun atmosphere. They've always got a special running, just ask.

They will forget about you. They will ignore you. It will take an hour to get a roll. They forget to refill your drink. And when you present an issue like us not getting our rolls they do nothing. They don't even apologize by saying "We made a mistake" they just say "Sorry we were busy" when the store literally isn't even half full. The sushi chef was talking with guests and taking selfies before helping us. I get it that talking at the bar is fun, but you can't talk to other when its the 20 minuet mark for waiting on our food. Don't go.

Love this - The group at Sushi House are always very friendly and nice. Give us anything we want. When we have had a problem, they fixed it immediately and gave us extra Saki! It's a fun atomosphere and their Sushi always looks very fresh and good.

If you enjoy interacting with your chef ask for John, he is great. Just let him know what type of fish you like and let him do his thing. Great food excellent service and John will not charge an arm and leg for his off menu specials.

We come here for lunch and enjoy the ability to customize what we order . Staff is friendly . Food is fresh.

Nice spot for casual lunch or dinner. When you walk in they usually have you see yourself. The eggrolls were good and a bit different than eggrolls from different cultures. I really like the mint and lettuce to wrap them up…crunchy! I ordered the vegetable pho with chicken added. From what I understand, beef and chicken pho both have MSG added. Plus, I’d like to get my veggies in. The service was good. However, we did have to keep asking for things such as sauces and extra napkins which were not given up front. Granted, they do get busy after we arrive. We bring the crowds! 😂 The sauces are all currently in single used containers and none are just out on the table. We ordered two bowls of pho and had to ask for extra plate of the veggies. They only gave us one very little bean sprouts and we like a lot of veggies in pho!

wow food was soooo delicious and I need to visit more often. today I ordered the vermicelli with chicken, and the chicken wings, and the flavors of all their dishes are truly delicious and amazing. PhoEver has always been my absolute favorite go to place for great Vietnamese food. everything I’ve ordered has been the best! You need to try anything on the menu and love it! Enjoy

Love the lime cured filet which is like ceviche but with fillet mignon and the spiciness flavor is excellent. The chicken is crispy and tender at the same time. First time trying the savory crepes and adding the different sauces dips makes it yummy. We were full by the time we reached the main meal and bo bo hue is nice to have if you want something hot and spicy. Cajun shrimp is recommended if you like Cajun of anything. Not to be missed.

I recently visited this adorable and chill restaurant, and it totally stole my heart! Our server, Bea, was absolutely amazing—so attentive and funny, she really made the experience special. I kicked things off with some Roasted Coconut tea and then tried the Spicy Ginger Tea, which was just incredible! For my meal, I went with the Somtom Authentic Clay Mantar, which is my all-time favorite Thai salad—it’s so refreshing! I also had the Spicy Basil Fried Rice; they stir-fry jasmine rice with garlic, bell peppers, carrots, onions, chili, and fresh basil, and I opted for the mock chicken to top it off. It was bursting with flavor and so tasty! To finish off my lunch on a sweet note, I enjoyed some Fried Banana drizzled with agave syrup and paired it with Thai coffee. Overall, I had a lovely time and left feeling super happy and satisfied! 🍽️🌟

Wow!! Incredible food and fantastic service. We had the tuna flower cups, eggplant with mock duck, pumpkin curry with steamed tofu, and mango sticky rice. Absolutely delicious! My husband is not vegan or vegetarian but said this was the best Thai food he has ever had and we eat at Thai restaurants all the time. We will definitely be going back!

We went for dinner just before they would have closed their kitchen. The fresh veggie rolls were delicious. This is a good place for vegetarians to visit in Encinitas.

We are vegetarian with NO 5 pungent vegetables (Buddha vegetarian). They can accommodate all this for us and varies selection to choose from. Easy street parking in historical Encinitas village. Very nice environment.

Great food, great owner. Everything is plant based and equally enjoyed by meat lovers. Only thing to be careful about is spice level. Base(0) spice is enough for me for most dishes. I prefer between 4 to 6 spice levels in most other restaurants. Love the food, atmosphere and service.

I walked by this gem in downtown encinitas for years and never thought to try it until this summer. It is unassuming on the outside but once you enter, you no longer hear the sound of traffic or people. The interior is beautiful and serene. The food is delicious and priced fairly. We ordered the pad thai and panang curry with thai tea. Everything tasted amazing. The service was friendly and fast.

Unpretentious and authentic Filipino food. The owner teaches the staff how to cook recipes not just for the restaurant, but so they can use them in their personal life. Angel took incredible care of us and shared cooking techniques for the dishes we ordered, to illustrate what makes their food so much, in my opinion, superior. The pork adobo and sautéed green beans were comforting and satisfying. This place should be voted best Filipino restaurant San Diego!

Food was too salty. Had to ask for lemon to cut the saltiness, water down the soup. I did suggest to the owner to change it. But idk if he'll listen.

Family owned and run authentic food. I went here when they opened years ago and I was super impressed. I recently started working in the area again and I am glad to see they are still going strong. I needed a caterer that served genuine Filipino fare for my Manila, Philippines high school reunion to be held in San with only a week’s Diego notice. Archie from Carin de Ria came to my rescue. Not only did he recommend a menu that could feed 140 people (a feat onto itself!), the menu included a variety of delicious food, and he managed to keep in all within my budget with delivery! Food arrived hot and right on time! Worldwide experts in Filipino cuisine (that’s to say all Reunion attendees were all raised on rice!) all agreed all of it was OUTSTANDING. Archie and Mary at Carin de Ria now have fans who live all all over the world! ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND CARIN DE RIA!

My favorite restaurant hands down. This place has an amazing atmosphere; the owner Archie is extremely friendly, hospitable, and accommodating of the customers and the different workers throughout the years have also been very lovely people. Aside from the absolute love and dedication put into this place, the food is exceptional and comforting. I have overheard customers who visit from LA just to come here, and I truly understand why. This is a gem to Encinitas and North County in general. The chicken BBQ is unmatched. It is soft, tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The pancit (glass noodles) is also a favorite. I personally love the kare kare because I am a peanut butter lover. The lumpia are exceptional (its lumpia, how can they not be?) and the chicharon (pork rinds) are also really good. The adobo is pretty good too, but I especially love the caldereta beef stew. The coconut vegetable curry is also a hit for my family. I definitely would recommend garlic rice! The sizzling dishes are also a fun treat. If you are with a group it is the best because you can get the family feast and sample several! The only thing I am not too crazy about** is the pipian and the chicken in the pancit—they simply don't have the right texture or taste to me and, if that is the only thing you end up trying by chance, you would truly not know how amazing the food is based on those. (**unless you enjoy plain grilled chicken, in which case knock yourself out!) So if you are going to get chicken, I'd say get the BBQ because it is prepared and cooked right. I have gone here at my best and my worst and always leave happy and well fed. I highly recommend this place—it will always hold a special place in my heart.

Encinitas has a lot of your typical places to eat, but we happened to come across this boutique Philippino food spot on a side street off of PCH/101. It features an open storefront, indoor & outdoor seating & a homecooked feel. We had a very tasty chicken soup which they served in a bowl large enough to share (they gave us smaller bowls for that) and we even had leftovers. We also had chicken adobo & a large platter of pancit (noodles) w chicken. Everything was delicious, quick & excellent service. You have to try this one! Oh, we also shared 3 scoops of locally made ice cream.

A lovely, casual spot that is being slept on! The grilled chicken was juicy, the sizzling lechon was the perfect balance of meat/fat, and the lumpia are crispy and meaty. The pork bun made an excellent breakfast the next day before we left. Service was quick and kind. Don't forget to always opt for garlic rice!

Sago was amazing! The vibes were beautiful like stepping into a lush jungle oasis. The food was delicious (the chicken caviar was my absolute fav!) and the drinks were the best!! Definitely recommend this restaurant for a romantic date night or a fun evening out with the girls!

This is THE vibe in Encinitas! The lush jungle-theme aesthetic is perfection on the main street. I came when they first opened last year, and I thought the flavors were even better and portions more filling this time! They also revamped the new front bar area so it's more open for bar seating and lounging. Absolute favs are the soft shell crab (2 meaty pieces with rice and curry), lobster baos, and divine fried chicken and caviar. We loved everything we ordered plus the presentation was beautiful too. This will be your favorite spot for an upscale date night or girl's night out, with drinks, live DJ, and solid Asian-fusion menu!

Absolutely loved SAGO! The moody, coastal-chic vibes set the perfect tone for the night — stylish but still relaxed. The DJ was so good and added the perfect energy! The food? Amazing. Every dish was packed with flavor, but my top favorites were definitely the noodles and the wagyu steak skewers — YUM! Whether you’re planning a date night or a girls’ night out, SAGO totally delivers. Will 100% be coming back.

We came in to try the brunch menu and I was blown away! The French toast was probably the best I have ever had hands down. We also had the lobster bao buns (with Cavier) and they were AMAZING! The other entree that was super yummy was the pork Benedict! Everything was delicious!!! The vibe here is also so fun! They had a dj & the entire seating is open concept with outside air! We loved our experience and server here!

We love a night out at SAGO! We’ve been a couple of times now and we love that they have live music and vibrant & flavorful dishes! It’s perfect for a date night or night out with the girls! Highly recommend for both locals or visitors! Their craft cocktails are so good too!

I visited Sago in 2024 for the first time and had such a wonderful experience - food, vibes, service - everything was amazing! When I was planning to head back this month, I was sad to see the menu had totally changed, but I had faith it'd be amazing because everything I had last year was 10/10 across the board. I was NOT disappointed... The cocktails were delicious and everyone at our table was so impressed by how delicious everything was. Major kudos to the chef! Some of our favorites were the lobster bao buns, friend chicken and caviar, and tuna tartare!
