Parks
Blue Hole Regional Park is a popular destination in Wimberley, TX, known for its lush surroundings and refreshing swimming area. The park features rope swings, a basketball court, and scenic trails for visitors to enjoy. With its spring-fed turquoise waters and cool temperature year-round, it's a surprising paradise nestled in Central Texas. The park's natural beauty makes it a beloved spot for locals and tourists alike seeking refuge from the summer heat.
J ust spent a half day at Blue Hole and honestly, it was super chill. The water’s insanely clear and cold—in a refreshing way—and those rope swings? So much fun. It’s got that classic Texas Hill Country vibe, with huge trees and that laid-back energy. Not too crowded either, which made it even better for just laying out or floating around. The hiking trails were peaceful and easy to follow. Perfect spot to unplug, cool off, and just enjoy some nature without feeling too remote. Definitely coming back. The swimming area was really well maintained and the grassy lawn gave off major picnic-and-nap energy. It had a good mix of families, friend groups, and solo folks just doing their own thing. You do need a reservation to swim during the season, but it’s 100% worth it. The walk from parking to the water is short and scenic. Everything just felt really easy and peaceful. If you’re looking for a low-key nature day with some Texas charm, this is the move.

A truly beautiful place with incredible nature. Unfortunately, we visited right after a period of flooding and heavy rain. The water was not its usual blue color but rather green, and swimming was not allowed at the time. Hopefully, next time we will get to experience its full beauty. That said, we still enjoyed the peacefulness and solitude of nature, especially since there were very few people around even though it was the weekend
Elena L — Google review
Blue Hole is absolutely beautiful! Nature is so serene. The water feels amazing, especially on a hot summer day. The water is so clean and refreshing. The way the trees line the water allows for a lot of shade while in water. Such a nice place to visit!
Mel J — Google review
An absolute must do! I walked from town taking the nature trail which added some beautiful views of the creek lined with cypress trees! When getting to the park, Heidi was so incredibly welcoming, informative and was a great introduction to the magic that the blue hole provides! There are multiple trails to enjoy but be sure to stop by the blue hole and take a swim if in season!
Ava C — Google review
Best swimming hole I’ve ever been to. Had such a good time even though I sadly messed up and only got the half day pass rather than buying both for the full day, still such a good time. The water is the perfect temperature, cold at first but stays cold even when you get used to it. Everyone was nice and there was so much room to hang. Deff won’t forget the Canopy next time we come.
DoButter X — Google review
The water is crystal clear, refreshing, and perfect for swimming. The surrounding nature is well maintained, with plenty of shaded areas to relax. Everything is very well organized – from booking to entry, it all went smoothly. I especially loved the calm, peaceful atmosphere, far away from any hustle and bustle. A must-visit if you’re in the area!
Alexander S — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous place!! The water is beautiful and cold (really cold since it’s spring fed). The little yard they have is well kept and has umbrellas for some shade in the warm months. No alcohol or smoking allowed, no pets either. There is some shallower parts, but most of it is pretty deep. They have life jackets available, free of charge. They also have a some other items available for sale like towels, floaties, water proof phone cases, shirts and hats, a vending machine with drinks. Also, you have to have a reservation before you get in!! You pay online! There are some rope swings as well and ladders at multiple points to assist you getting out. I rank this place 10/10! Will definitely visit again and again!

Restaurant
The Leaning Pear is a popular Wimberley restaurant known for its locally sourced, seasonal American menu served in a modern, eco-conscious indoor-outdoor setting. The treehouse design adds to the charm of this establishment, which is frequented by both locals and visitors.
Loved The Leaning Pear! The staff was so welcoming and kind from the moment we walked in- we felt right at home (thanks Morgan). The food was amazing, and ice tea was the best I’ve had. We enjoyed our lunch so much we came back for dinner! Highly recommend for great food, service and atmosphere.
Danielle G — Google review
We stopped by this weekend for some early dinner and drinks with friends. Nice place but a bit rowdy outside with lots of unsupervised kids running around. Servers were nice and seemed to be hustling so they were likely understaffed as service was a bit slow. To drink, the girls had the pink frozen gin drinks and I had the mangonada. Both were pretty delicious but the mangonadas take awhile to to be served so be prepared. I was originally going to get a craft beer but the selection was pretty limited. To eat, we shared the pretzels and the sprouts. The pretzels were decent but the sprouts stood out for me, which is a bit surprising based on my normal preferences. To eat, we shared a 1/2 rueben, 1/2 pimento cheese (its cool they let you do 1/2s), and a small house salad. The salad was fantastic with the pecans and vinaigrette and of the two sandwiches, I'd lean to the pimento cheese.

Portion was much larger than i expected! Personally i would have preferred more seasoning in the meatloaf but that's just me. The lemon blueberry pana cotta literally made me cry bc of how incredible it was. Such a breath taking experience is rare in food. I can see myself making the hour plus journey to Wimberly just for the panna cotta, if i ever have a bad day. Servers were kind and friendly and helpful. Im very full and very happy and i feel my soul is cleansed. ✨️
Queef J — Google review
Very busy for brunch. The wait time wasn’t that bad and they text once your table is ready. Indoor and outdoor seating a nice perk. The online menu is live and you can see things that are available in real time. We were able to get the last 2 sausage sandwiches. Very tasty! Very nice wait staff.
Candace D — Google review
The staff is well trained and very helpful and responsive. The decor is fresh and hip without being obnoxious. The menu really isn't over priced which I find refreshing these days. I had the migas, it was warm not hot but the taste was so good.
Mark S — Google review
The server didn’t come up to us for at least 15 minutes and then my sandwich came out like this. The outside is pretty and I enjoyed that, but the care put into the food was nonexistent. I wouldn’t serve dinner at home like this let alone pay $17 for this sandwich at a highly rated restaurant.
Meredith W — Google review
My friend and I made it promptly as the restaurant was opening for brunch, so crowding and a long wait wasn't a factor. Our waitress was great and answered our questions clearly. Nice atmosphere. Convenient parking. I'm hoping to visit another time to explore other aspects of the menu.
Annaka M — Google review
I had high expectations because of the reviews I have seen so far. We went for Sunday brunch and I ordered the meatloaf with hash potatoes. My friend she got the chicken and waffles and for appetizer we had the kimchi hush puppies. We enjoyed the hush puppies it was delicious. I didn’t really care for the meatloaf. honestly 2/3 of the plate are potatoes and barely got any meatloaf and it was very salty I had to ask for ketchup to drown the saltiness. My friend’s waffle was ok but the chicken tenders were burnt and only had two teeny tenders. It was an ok meal for me it could have been better if I got 2/3 of meatloaf and less of the potatoes but it was the other way around so it was disappointing. I normally give higher rating but this one didn’t earn it in my opinion. I would give the kimchi hush puppies a kudos.

Market

Art center
Wimberley Market Days is a bustling outdoor market located in the Texas Hill Country, boasting an impressive 490 booths spread across 20 acres. With over 200 volunteers, it's the second-largest flea market in Texas. Visitors can browse through a diverse range of items, from vintage furniture to homemade jams and quirky trinkets. The market operates on the first Saturday of each month from March to December and offers free admission with themed events featuring local bands and special vendors.
This is such an awesome and cool place. We will definitely be back!!!!
Apollo J — Google review
It's nice for a day out, the traffic and parking ($10) can be a nightmare. I wish the market was more than one day a month, it would drive the amount of people down and goods sold wouldn't have to be so expensive on some stalls.
Damien — Google review
Really cool market. Lots of antiques and fun shops. 3 separate food/concession areas. Lots of well marked parking, most for a $5 donation. All of the lots were full when we went ( it was opening day) so we parked at the nearby junior high and followed a footpath to the market. Bring cash as some vendors do not take cards or apps. They do have some onsite bathrooms and some portable bathrooms. Dogs seem welcome. In most cases it seems handicap accessible but there may be a few tricky areas.
Kristin G — Google review
Hundreds of booths/shops selling all sorts of local items, antiques, clothes, pottery, artwork, plain junk, and of course imported goods. Something for everybody. Prices are generally high but most sellers will negotiate.
R B — Google review
1st Saturday!!!!! Totally worth it and so fun to go and look at all the treasures! Over 500 booths and lots of everything!!! So fun and entertaining! Like walking around a museum! Has everything! I got a brisket sandwich at the door that was really good!
Razorhornet — Google review
Fun but very crowded parking situation, but worth it! Lots of people, food is hit and miss but even the misses are good. Limited selection of beer and some places run out of food because there is just a lot of people. I enjoyed walking around and buying some things. Worth the walk to enjoy this experience.
Victor H — Google review
I was happy to find out that it is now dog friendly... I got some spice mixes, dog treats, a funny sign for my cousin and a beautiful piece of cedar for a table top. My dog?!? He got loads of pets and love. If you come, be sure to wear comfortable shoes and take note of the number for assistance with hauling your purchases to the vehicle!

Handicapped Friendly. Family Friendly. So Fun! I’ve only been there once so I was SO EXCITED! Wimberley definitely didn’t disappoint! It’s like a cute little village & all the villagers are having a yard sale 😂🙌🏽 My Grandma uses a wheelchair so I was happy to see some of the little shops had ramps! The bathroom is a tight fit so beware of that. Also it can get very rocky & hilly very quick so beware of that. My Grandmas wheelchair has a seatbelt so we were fine with off roading every now and then 😂 We didn’t eat there except the kettle corn which was delicious. And the vendors are all so sweet! You can definitely find cute vintage stuff here for those who love thrift shopping. There are a lot of great deals but there are also some super pricey stuff so keep in mind that just because it’s set up like a flea market, doesn’t necessarily mean everyone will be dirt cheap with their prices (Which is what I was looking forward to lol) But we did find really great deals tho! We found a beautiful barley used Jean Jacket with Tassels for only $20! & some Himalayan crystal Candel holders for only $5 each 😍. So it really depends on the vendor of course. I loved this place so much I wish it was open every weekend 😭 Def coming back with more people!

Nature preserve
Wimberley Zipline Adventures offers an exhilarating experience for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. Visitors can enjoy guided nature walks followed by soaring through the skies on ten different zip lines, ranging from 150 to 900 feet long and up to 100 feet high, providing panoramic views of Central Texas' hills, meadows, canyons, and creeks. This activity is suitable for all ages, making it a great option for families or groups.
We had a great time! TJ, Elliot and Grant were awesome. They were very professional and friendly. They even helped with recommendations for dining and places to take our dogs that we are traveling with. Making a reservation online was a breeze. Google maps did lead us astray when we were trying to find the place. I would check it out on a map before you head out. We called them to let them know and they were very kind and helped us with directions. Highly recommend! Make sure you tip your guides. 😁
Sarah L — Google review
We had an absolute blast! Took my oldest daughter on a surprise girls trip. James, Elliot and Lafe (spell?) We amazing. Kept us laughing and engaged the entire time. Provided plenty of water throughout the tour. The VIEWS....unparalleled anywhere. Will 10/10 be back!
Elizabeth H — Google review
HIGHLY RECOMMEND We had a great time on the tour. Definitely recommend booking in advance on their website; we did not, but they graciously fit us in. Closed toe shoes are required. The guides are knowledgeable and engaging with a constant emphasis on safety. Every employee we interacted with was personable and had a positive attitude. Safety rules were explained in depth, with a little tongue-in-cheek humor, at the start of the tour and addressed throughout to ensure we all had a safe tour. You start at the welcome center and are fitted for your harness and helmet. You then get “bussed” to the top of the hill from the welcome center. The tour does require some uphill walking that can be performed at your own pace. The ten zip lines differ in length and speed, providing an exciting day with some incredible views of the Wimberly area. The tour ends back at the welcome center where it started.
Joe H — Google review
Gio, Elliott and Dusty were our guides. They were absolutely fantastic. We got a very thorough operation and safety demonstration at the beginning. I had never done this before, so I really appreciated the attention to detail and the "bunny slope" exercise at the beginning to get us all familiar with the equipment. I felt very well prepared for our first real zipline. The course itself is incredibly beautiful. Every single person on staff was great to interact with. We really could not have had a better time. Highly recommend. I hope we get a chance to come back soon.
John V — Google review
We had such an amazing time!! With ten zip lines all different lengths this was an excellent experience! Bree and Angelica were both great with my anxiety and gave great instructions. My kids did awesome of course. Many jokes along the way of the hike! They made sure we had plenty of water hydration areas and rest when needed. I highly recommend this place. Everyone was great professional and amazing. Wish I could give it. More ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Adrenalin rushes all morning! This was so much fun! What a lovely crew! My originally reluctant husband can't stop talking about it and I'm sure he'll be by here with a Google review. Our instructors, Elliott, Gio and Dusty, were so helpful and funny and relaxed and made me feel safe. There was even a practice line before we got into the scary Jeep to head up the hill. In addition to the fun zip lines, we got a good workout climbing over rocks. Wish I had started my Fitbit. It would have been very confused with all the heart thumping and steps! Back on land, TJ sold us t-shirts and was a mine of information on things to do in the area next. So that's one more thing crossed off this 73-year-old's bucket list. Now who will take me up in a glider?
Catherine V — Google review
So much fun, I brought my daughter back for her first ziplining experience. The guides, Austin, Angelica, and Grant were so kind and silly they made it all a fun experience for her. There are three short "hikes" to get up to the top but between each line there are chairs, shade, and bottled water. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to try ziplining or ready for a beautiful day in Texas Hill Country!
Nicole M — Google review

A cemetery dating back to 1883 for the local people. I was unable to go inside the grounds but according to the marker burials included two Texas Rangers, a sheriff, ranchers, teachers, blacksmiths and store owners.

Fantastic little climb to a great view! Roughly 214 steps to the top! Will get your heart pumping for sure! Decent amount of parking at the bottom and well maintained steps and railings.

Climbing the steps up Old Baldy is a short but rewarding hike! It’s a bit steep, but once you reach the top, the 360° panoramic view of the Texas Hill Country is absolutely worth it. Perfect spot for sunrise or sunset. Parking is limited, but the trail is well-maintained and quick. A must-see if you’re visiting Wimberley!
Sheamus — Google review
If you are looking for an easy hike to a pretty view, this is great. If you're looking to go for a hike in hill country, this is a non-event. It's a set of stone stairs up to a flat top. A good spot for a picnic, or to watch cavorting butterflies, but not much more than that.
Christie K — Google review
No parking lot, limited parking on la toya cir. Stairs to the top has a number of landings to rest if needed. Most of the stairs have railings but not all. The stair rise and run varies throughout the climb. Approx 115ft rise in elevation. Panoramic view at the top.

Bodies of Water
Cypress Falls Swimming Hole in Wimberley, Texas is a popular spot for summer activities like canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Located at the largest part of Cypress Creek, this natural spring-fed swimming hole offers cool waters year-round thanks to its source from Jacobs Well. Visitors can enjoy refreshments at nearby cafes and access the falls through Cypress Falls Lodge.
Great place for family fun! Took my family (wife, 5 kiddos and mother) here for an afternoon dip on a hot summer day and it did not disappoint. It's rare to find economical fun these days for a family of our size but we found it here. I had no idea what to expect when we showed up, but it was like $10 for each to enter, and the tube / paddle board rentals were the same for the day. They also have a bar and kitchen which came in handy for both the adults and kids 😂. The water was great, enjoyed jumping off the rock and the kids had a blast on the paddle boards. If visiting Wimberley I would definitely add Cypress Falls to the itinerary.
Eddie B — Google review
Overall cute visit! Water was murkier than pictured and a little bit stinky. Started to get more crowded throughout the day. Needed more seating options. We found 2 chairs, but they were falling apart with some sharp edges. Stand up paddle boards were available for rent, but the grip was tearing off the tops. With a little TLC and glue, the place could be fixed up super cute! Enjoyed lounging in some tubes for just $10!
Hanna H — Google review
It's such a cute spot! We got here at 920am, and there was no line or wait to enter. It got busy around 11 am. I will definitely be coming back to this amazing spot. We rented a paddle board and had so much fun. Drinks and food are available for purchase but you can also bring food from home. No grills though.
Veronica P — Google review
Great swimming hole for families. Mainly shallow and calm. Tube rentals on site. They have a restaurant and bar. If you stay at Cypress Falls Lodge entry is free. They have restrooms and picnic tables.
Roamer222 — Google review
On August 7, 2025, the water and air quality were exceptional. The conditions were ideal, and the experience was expansive and not expensive, which I appreciate. To optimize your visit, it is recommended to consider a weekday visit, arriving as it opens, it tends to get busy around 1pm. Please note that veterans are eligible for complimentary admission. Food and beverage options are available at the on-site kitchen and bar, respectively.

Not super big but a nice little area to stop and get outside for a bit. Some cool trees. Right next to a very cute downtown area.

Super trails for hiking and biking. Beautiful all around. The blue hole swimming area is here but is seasonal swimming. As the weather changes so do the trails they can be extremely dry or have some water flow. There was ample parking and they host super fun family events like trick or treat trails etc.

Had an excellent experience at Cypress Creek Park. Trails were smooth if a little rugged. Great for children, dogs, and adults. This is not a mobility friendly park so arrangements or extra care will need to used when traversing the park.

Beautiful view and room is really nice but would will not stay here again. Pool not keep clean and grounds not keep. No housekeeping so if you stay more than 1 night bring your own coffie. Owner never leaves so no privacy. Ac unit controls 2 rooms. And does not keep room cool. This could be such a wonderful place with better managment.

Community Pizza & Beer Garden is a rustic-chic hotspot for pizza enthusiasts, offering specialty pizzas and a wide selection of craft brews on tap. The restaurant transforms into a musical haven with live performances, creating an engaging experience for diners. Located near Wimberley TX, it's popular among fun-loving couples, families, and solo travelers. The dog-friendly outdoor area and open seating arrangement perfectly complement the draft beer, pizza, and famous artichoke dip.
The overall experience was wonderful!Food came out hot and prompt. Was delicious. The only comment I have for potential improvement would be the Shrimp Scampi, there was not enough sauce for the noodles, it very much tasted simply like noodles and shrimp no butter or lemon etc. The pizzas were absolutely phenomenal. Some of the best pizza I have savored. The salads are fresh and delicious. The Calamari was yummy and hot. Overall this was a great place and I would recommend!

Beautiful place to eat. You can choose outside with beautiful natural flowers and scenery. You may choose picnic table seating, comfortable outdoor chairs. Or you can head inside for a nice few seats that you still feel comfortable and inviting. Service was great! We tried the recommendations of our server. I apologize I have forgotten her name. It seems as all the staff would be knowledgeable and eager to help with recommendations and wonderful service. The food was delicious

As per the locals, it's the best pizza in town. The taste is good. Waiting time to get a table was 35 minutes for us and another 40 minutes to get the food. Service and atmosphere were good.
Zahed H — Google review
Wow. We LOVED this place! We went here for lunch on a Saturday. We had a group of 15, but don't have to wait more than 20 minutes to get seated all together. Our waiter Anthony was the best! We all had cocktails, and I have to say their house margarita is as good as some top shelf margaritas I've had at some Mexican restaurants! As an app we had some different salads and their blistered shisito peppers. The peppers are served with a spicy ranch sauce that is BOMB. Definitely order these! We all had pizza, and the margherita, the Italian meats, and the Illuminati were our favorites! The Illuminati was sweet and spicy, then has a tangy kick from the gorgonzola. Solid pizza choice 👌. The pizza is wood fired and so yummy! Definitely pop in here if you're hungry for pizza while in Wimberly!

Community Pizza’s “Italian Stallion” rides in hot! Loved it! & the Wagyu steak with frites? Luxuriously marbled, seared like a secret, and flanked by fries that are dangerously snackable. On vacation & loved the whole community.
Bart K — Google review
Firstly the food was great, the pizza had the perfect amount of crunch amd chew, the center was a bit floppy. The rosemary fries were great, no complaints there. Now to the negitives, It did take us a very long time to get our drinks from the bar, also the line to the bar being right next to our table made eating very uncomfortable. Every few minutes I had to ask someone not to put their butt right in my face while I was eating.

Haven't been here since the reopening. Great atmosphere and decor, however the food missed the mark. It was Halloween and we had made reservations ahead of time in anticipation of a long wait. We got 2 appetizers and 2 pizzas. Not the quality or great taste prior to the remodel. The kids cheese pizza had an off taste and the dough was under cooked and soggy. Pretty hard to mess up a cheese pizza. Dough mouth feel came across as sour. The appetizers were small and price point didnt justify the serving size or quality. Off night for the kitchen? Perhaps. We will give them another try i guess, not good enough to be motivated to do it. I will update review when and if we do.

Nestled in the heart of Wimberley, Texas, Creekhouse Kitchen & Bar offers a classic Texan dining experience with a view of Cypress Creek. This newer addition to Wimberley's restaurant scene provides a laid-back atmosphere for locals and visitors alike to enjoy soul-satisfying food, craft cocktails, and brewed beers. The lively decor and local vibes make it an ideal spot for hanging out with friends or celebrating special occasions.
This riverside gem is an absolute must visit! I've seen all the great reviews, and they are absolutely spot on. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by a fantastic atmosphere, complete with plenty of shade which is perfect for a sunny day. We started with the fresh queso, and it was unbelievably good creamy, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Then came the star of the show: the cheeseburger. It was thick, juicy, cooked to perfection, and one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. To top it all off, their mimosas are absolutely delicious, the perfect complement to a leisurely meal by the water. The live music added such a wonderful vibe to the whole experience, making it truly memorable. The service was excellent, attentive without being overbearing. This is the ideal spot for a relaxing meal with friends or family, offering great food, refreshing drinks, and a fantastic ambiance. We will definitely be back!

First visit. We were in Wimberley for the last of the swimming for this year and I found Creekhoyse Kitchen on Google Maps based on reviews and distance. It turned out to be a very lively place with great live music and above all excellent service and great food. I was keen on getting the beautifully described pork chop which comes with garlic mashed potatoes - and I truly hate the taste of garlic. So, rather than selecting something else I asked if I could get this dish without garlic and the restaurant manager came over no less than three times to make sure I can get this dish in s way that's good for me. That's the kind of dedication to the customer service that will bring me over when we're in the neighborhood again! They also added fries, just in case I didn't find the rice they substituted for the mashed potatoes not perfect. Wow! And the food was really good, too!
Robert Z — Google review
The atmosphere here is amazing. Such a nice view. Food and drinks are good. Service is decent although my wife and mother got passed over and ignored twice at the bar. Some of the servers look like they're in high school. They were out of shrimp and grits and two other items which was a shame. All of our selections came out fresh. The only issue was the ribeye sandwich was a bit chewy but still very tasty. I would definitely recommend this place for later in the year. Not sure if I'd dine on the patio during summer. All in all, worth the stop!
Joshua L — Google review
Came in for lunch and the place was buzzing—not an empty table in sight—but service was still really great, we didn’t wait long for anything. Our server was a total gem: kind, menu-savvy, and rocking the kind of smile that makes you instantly feel welcome. Major shoutout to the GM, Josh, who somehow managed to stop by every table (including ours!) to check in. That kind of hands-on leadership is rare and made the whole vibe feel personal. He also recommend the Wimberly Way cocktail and he was spot on because that was so yummy! Now the food—wow. The Charred Shishito Peppers & Okra were smoky, tangy, and absolutely addictive (yes, I begged for extra sauce). My WTX salmon Power Bowl with shrimp on the side was fresh, colorful, and almost too pretty to eat… almost. And the truffle fries? I know you see those- Don’t even think about leaving without them—crispy, cheesy, truffle-y heaven in a basket.
Felicia H — Google review
Exceptional customer service. The staff accommodated all of our food allergies. However, they were not willing to change up the burger to make it vegetarian (with the fried green tomatoes). The atmosphere was great, everyone in the staff was helpful.

Cute place. Variety of seating options. Grilled chicken sandwich was good size with delicious french fries. The wedge salad was just a salad with little blue cheese crumbles. Not really a wedge. Marg was tasty in rock glass TX style.

The vibe, the food, and the service are all great at Creekhouse. Grass Fed Smash Burger as is good as a grass fed beef burger can get. Pickled Roasted Beet appetizer is a sleeper. It was delicious. The service is awesome. The staff was very friendly. Ben was our server. He was great. Also just an extremely cool build out and beautiful spot on the creek. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Perfect, beautiful creekside hangout for food and drinks! Our friend group spent the weekend in Wimberly and we spent the afternoon at Creekside. We had several of their specialty drinks and appetizers. The Blue Hole Mule was my favorite drink, and the fried green tomatoes were top notch! We hung out by the creek for several hours and the weather was amazing sitting under the cypress trees in July! Highly recommend.

Nestled in the charming town of Wimberley, The Wimberley Players is a local playhouse that offers a rotating schedule of captivating plays and musicals throughout the week. Despite being a small theater, it exudes an intimate atmosphere that draws in quality actors from various areas, ensuring top-notch performances. The dedication of volunteers and staff shines through in well-designed sets and outstanding direction. While some productions may have occasional hiccups, standout performances make for an enjoyable experience overall.
I'm visiting from tennessee, and this was an enjoyable activity during my stay in TX. 1.5 hours was a little much for the 1st act without a break, however. The acting was wonderful, and I hope many people support this local business.

Great theater and performances! I love going here!
Mary R — Google review
Went to watch "Then there were none" with some friends. Most of the cast was a bit clumsy, flubbing lines and switching accents but it was still enjoyable. I will say that the actor who played the general was absolutely amazing. I was shocked at the quality of his performance in contrast to the rest and honestly shed a couple tears during his monologue. I couldn't believe when it said he only recently picked up acting after becoming interested due to a family member, he is honestly a natural and impressive talent!

We saw the Sunday matinee performance of Tin Woman and were so very impressed! The actors rivaled Broadway performers - all of the actors were excellent in their roles and obviously comfortable in their characters. The sets were very well designed and the direction was outstanding! I love the intimate feel of this small theater, which truly makes you feel a part of the production. Kudos to the entire cast and crew - you all did an awesome job!

We saw Sense and Sensibility. Very cleverly done. Thoroughly enjoyed the play. We watched the movie the following night. Wish I had done so beforehand as there were a few moments when it was a bit hard to figure out what was going on as the actors played multiple roles. But overall it was a winner!

Visitors have enjoyed the experience, although some were surprised to find non-local wines available. Despite this, the friendly staff and knowledgeable service made for an enjoyable tasting session. Guests particularly raved about the Baileys wine and sweet varieties on offer.
I took a few visitors from out of town here on a couple of different occasions. It's a perfect place to show people how friendly wimberley is! Very fun experience, too. Great wine, had to buy a few bottles and gifts every time I went.

We had a nice experience at this wine shop. While in town we stopped by for a wine tasting. Their website stated that their wines come from Texas but there were several wines that weren’t actually local (to my understanding) which we didn’t expect. The tasting itself felt a little rushed but the woman pouring for us was very nice and Knowledgeable. The desert “Baileys” wine was amazing and we bought a bottle as well as another bottle of a sweet wine which was also very good. Not sure if the price went up or if taxes are just larger in Texas but we paid 16.00. It might have been nice if there was a small discount for buying bottles after the tasting which we have experienced with other tastings but I know a business needs to make money to survive.

Sugar Shack is a good bakery with a couple of areas needing improvement. The cupcakes are filled and sometimes topped with excellent creams, but for some reason they're left in a freezer cabinet. The drys out the cupcakes and makes the cake dense and the frosting solid. Cupcakes shouldn't fight. However, the kolaches are wonderfully Texan in nature providing a nice savory kiobasa sausage with crispy breaded texture that's somehow still soft on the inside. And more, the staff is lovely and terribly welcoming. It's worth a visit, but skip the solid cake products if they're out of the freezer.

7/23 My boyfriend bought me a beautiful white cake with strawberry filling and cream cheese frosting for an early birthday (7/27) celebration. Great family friendly brewery. Very large with plenty of indoor or outdoor beer garden seating. I ordered a flight, to try all their beers. Their craft beer isn’t the best I’ve had in Texas. But I highly recommend to donate and contribute this place and keep the event continue for the community. You can see front my photos. But they are only small part of the event. It is worth to travel from Austin to this place. Wish I can visit next year. It is one of the most favor place in our family vacation thid year.

Anyone who loves Christmas should visit the Emilyann Theatre's walk through trail outside of the theatre. It's located in Wimberley, TX. I, along with another car, thought this was supposed to be a drive or walk through trail according to what I saw on a site online. The other car saw they couldn't drive through though and left. We decided we would walk a little of it. The volunteers were very friendly. They do take donations and offer free hot chocolate and marshmallows for roasting. Lots to see as the town's shops puts this together for others' enjoyment. Be aware that the parking is in gravel, the trails have hills and uneven ground. It may not be for those in wheelchairs or unstable.

Old Baldy Park is a relatively simple city park in Wimberley, Texas, established in 2015 through community efforts to preserve the land from development. The park features a well-maintained stairway leading to the top of Old Baldy, offering stunning sunrise views and an accessible hike with approximately 260 steps ascending about 100 feet. A great place to catch the sunset or wrap up your day. It’s perfect for a quick hike with a tall staircase that really gets your heart rate up, great cardio and a satisfying challenge. Once you reach the top, you’re rewarded with an incredible 360-degree view of the surrounding area. It’s a beautiful spot to take photos, enjoy the breeze and take in the scenery. Whether you’re looking for a bit of exercise, a peaceful place to reflect or just want to watch the sky change colors, this place is absolutely worth a visit

Old Baldy Park, is a quick but rewarding climb;about 218 steps to one of the best views in Wimberley. Took me under 15 minutes, great workout, and the view at the top is breathtaking. I loved it so much I did it three times!”

Located close to residential neighborhood. Number of stairs provide a good workout, with ability to pause during the ascent. Top is mostly rock with a great view at dawn.

Absolutely loved visiting Old Baldy Park! The view from the top is breathtaking and totally worth the climb. The trail is short but steep — a great little workout. You can see the beautiful Texas Hill Country all around. The area is clean, peaceful, and perfect for nature lovers or anyone wanting a quiet escape. A must-visit spot in Wimberley! 🌄💚

Beautiful,.climb up 227 steps, that lead you to a panoramic view of the surrounding area. The winding drive to entrance is an adventure in itself. You’ll see deer and just a variety of small houses and cottages along the street leading to old baldy, but once you get there, the parking is small but not bad if you go early. The climb is great not bad…id say beginner hikers can do it,there’s a handrail after the first flight until you get to the top.

Fun quickly walk up. Check sunrise time on weather app. First blush of color was around 6:45 and full sunrise was 7:16.

Beautiful, the walk up the stairs is worth it! Lovely view! It’s also known as Prayer Mountain and I can see why.

Restaurant
Chill's On The Creek, previously known as Inoz, is a laid-back American bar and grill nestled in a picturesque creekside setting. With a spacious deck area and live music, it offers a serene spot to unwind Wimberley style. The restaurant boasts picnic tables and stunning creek views, making it perfect for nature lovers. Its relaxed atmosphere makes it ideal for large groups to gather and enjoy delicious American dishes in an outdoor space that feels like a neighbor's backyard BBQ.
Food: Mahi Tacos with Cajun vinaigrette coleslaw. Fried shrimp with hush puppies. Tacos were good. Fish was cooked well, addition of rice to the taco was interesting. Coleslaw was light of the vinegar punch, but light and refreshing. Shrimp was breaded nicely, not overdone. Hush puppies were of the standard fare. Service: We were seated quickly and given menus. Server was attentive without hovering. Food came out quicker than expected. Atmosphere: We sat inside. There was outdoor seating available, but we were looking to cool off after the zipline tour. Standard high top, only two other tables were occupied so it was nice and quiet. Nothing detracting but nothing of note either.
Joe H — Google review
We’re visiting and everything was great except our main food took an hour to arrive. The area is nice with different levels of outdoor seating. Dogs are allowed. Our waitress was great. She brought out our appetizer, pickle fries, quickly. It was pretty good. Then we waited an hour for our beef pepper steak, crawfish etouffee, and fried shrimp to come. All of their food was delicious. They have heaters and turned it on for us after we requested it.
Emy A — Google review
My main complaint were all the dang flies flying around sitting INSIDE while trying to enjoy what we could during our experience. The location is in a neat spot at least. We attempted to eat here Friday night at around 7 and were told there was an hr wait so we got on a waitlist but also looked elsewhere to eat. We got a text 1.5 hrs later that our table was ready but we had already eaten and back to our AirBnB by that time. When we got there Sat at around 5, there was no wait. The food we ordered were just ok. Out of everything we ate, the boudin balls were the best tasting. I ordered the Cajun pig sandwich, again, just ok. It may have been how I read the description, but I did not expect raw chopped onions in the sandwich. Had they been sautéed or grilled, I’d kept them on. That’s just my preference though. Also ordered 2 cookies towards the end (and before we asked for the check cuz it said it needed time to bake), and to say I’m disappointed is an understatement. For almost a $3 cookie, I’d expect something a whole lot bigger rather than something that fits the size of my palm. Waited even longer because we were told one of the cookies broke and had to bake another. I even told our server to box it up anyways cuz in the end it was gonna get eaten regardless. Now, if it had fell to the floor then I understand the wait. This restaurant wouldn’t be my top choices to pick or recommend when visiting Wimberley.
Lyndsey M — Google review
We had a party of 6 and we were seated on the patio. Initially, things were going well. After placing our order I was reading the dessert menu and noticed that they had a chocolate chunk cookie. The description says that it takes a little time because they're prepared fresh, so place your order early. When the server brought our drinks i placed the order for the cookie. While she was clearing the plates i asked about the cookie. She said that she would check on it. When she returned with the check, which INCLUDED AN 18% GRATUITY, she said it's not ready yet because their oven is "running slow". She said it would only be about 15 minutes. 45 MINUTES AFTER PAYING THE CHECK some semi-management looking guy comes to the table and apologized. He assured us that the cookie was only about 15 minutes away. He said our cookies would be free because of the wait as he was walking away, leaving us all confused because we had already paid for it. Needless to say, I was angry. It was hot, our drinks were empty and no longer being refilled. Finally AN HOUR AND A HALF AFTER PAYING THE CHECK the man came to the table and said something like "this is the best cookie in the world!" He promptly dropped the box on the table and ran away. I thought maybe there was more than one because he said or cookies (plural) were on the house after we had already paid. When i opened the box and saw this $4 cookie, I literally had the urge to throw the box at the back of his head. This is the cookie that we my party of 6 paid $4 and had to sit on the hot patio for an hour and a half with no drink refills because we had already paid. Don't go. The service was terrible. It was bad enough to run my afternoon. Just don't go.
Monica U — Google review
The place didn't seem very busy on the Saturday that we went but we still had a 20-minute wait before we were sat. Our table ended up being a high table in the bar area and all of the chairs were very wobbly and uneven due to the tile floor. I did notice two or three other open tables when we got inside so I was wondering why the wait was so long? The server was great and friendly but the wait for the food seemed a little bit longer than we typically wait at other restaurants. The potato skins were very dry and the hamburger might have been the saltiest burger I've ever eaten. Maybe not "salty", but just lots of seasoning or seasoned salt or something? Man, all the bread in the world would not get that burger back to normal levels. My buddy's burger was the same way. Overall, the place seemed pretty decent with inside and outside seating but the inside seating was very limited unless there was some other room that I didn't see. There's a small playground and overall the place might look nicer at night because I did notice string lights hanging from the trees. The bathroom was also very nicely decorated. For the four of us, all ordering hamburgers or potato skins, the bill ended up being over $100 with tip which I thought was excessive. Probably won't visit this place again but glad we can check it off the list.

We went for breakfast on a Tuesday and we were the only table at 8am. The avocado toast was delicious and the perfect portion. Our server was friendly and cheerful, but maybe a little distracted with opening chores. We sat on the deck and watched some deer across the creek. I really love the atmosphere of Chill

New favorite spot in Wimberly. Great food along Cypress Creek. Play area for the kiddos. Beautiful scenery while enjoying a fantastic meal. Started with the fried portobello mushroom. I had the Mahi Mahi covered in crawfish etouffee, followed by bread pudding. Family members loved their meals. We will definitely be back!
Michelle A — Google review
Ill start by saying the outdoor atmosphere was great. The patio seating is nice and they have a great play area for kids. Our server was very nice and checked on us often. Unfortunately, the food was not worth it. My husband and I both ordered tacos. It did take longer than a standard wait for the food, but the menu made everything sound so good and homemade, we thought it would be worth it. No. My Buffalo tacos (2 of them) that were a little more than 16 dollars consisted of a flour tortilla (not warm at all) topped with preshedded lettuce (the kind you get in a bag at Heb) 2 cherry tomatos sliced in half, 1 chicken tender that may have been drizzled with mild buffalo sauce but was still very dry, and a square of half melted cheese. The side of ranch tasted like it had been watered down with milk, and the coleslaw had zero flavor. My husband's tacos were the same. My daughter ordered French fries and they were the best tasting item on our table. A 62 dollar bill for 2 sweet teas, 2 kids meals, and 2 entres that consisted of a total of 4 tacos (that were awful) and some coleslaw. Not worth it at all. We wont be back, which is sad because we did really enjoy the atmosphere.

The knowledgeable and entertaining guides ensure a wonderful experience, with well-maintained horses like Gonzo and Joker to accompany riders on the stunning property. The ranch ride includes a break with snacks at the top of the trail, making it an ideal way to explore the beautiful Texas Hill Country on horseback.
One of the best rides I have ever been on. Megan is a wonderful guide. She was professional, knowledgeable, and incredible talented with a camera. I think the best part (other than riding through various trails and splashing around the water with the horses) was that it felt like we were riding with a friend who genuinely wanted to have a good time with us.

The best trail ride my wife and I had been on. Great horses, time was taken to ride in the corral to be sure we were confident with the horse. Trails had elevation changes and wonderful overlooks over the Texas hill country. Thanks for the experience!

Had a great time! Definitely worth it. Beautiful country, well behaved horses. Knowledgeable Wrangler that had well planned out trip. My two sons have never ridden horses, me only a few times. There's some twists and turns and narrow trails, but the horses know exactly what they're doing. It was an amazing experience.

What a fabulous ride at the ranch! I arrived early and met my guide Meagan. She is such a nice, down to earth person. She’s so knowledgeable in the land, and her ability to teach novice rider like me are absolutely amazing. My ride Jess is such a sweetheart. She made me look like I know what I’m doing with horses! The scenery at the ranch is breathtaking. We went up and down those rolling hills, down to the creek to let the horses play in the water. I felt I was riding with a friend in a peaceful, sunny afternoon while having an informative conversation. Get ready Gary & Meagan, I will return someday. 😁

I cannot express how much I enjoyed this experience. Thank you Meagan and Gary.

A really great time with my son and I, and Gary as the guide. we took the 2 hr ride with a break for a drink and a snack in the middle. The horses were really incredible with at least Louis and Monty raised on competitive polocrosse. I've ridden English most of my life (but rather rusty) and these horses were very responsive to leg, seat and gentle hands. Very athletic and agile. The trail was truly beautiful with great views through a gorgeously crafted landscape. I'll definitely be going back for more. Thank you Gary!

Hidden Gem Worth Visiting! I visited this Pioneer Town on a Monday morning, and it truly is a hidden gem. The place is well-maintained and has a charming, old-world feel. Do note that the visiting hours are limited in December, so plan accordingly. The museum is packed with fascinating items that showcase history and heritage. If you're anywhere near San Marcos, do yourself a favor and make the trip to **Roughhouse Brewery** - a true Texas treasure tucked away in the beautiful Hill Country. Locally owned and run by the passionate and welcoming duo, Davy and Alex, this brewery is more than just a place to grab a drink- it's a full-on experience. Davy pours his heart and soul into the creation of his beer. You can tell with every refreshing sip. The sandwiches are thoughtfully made, flavor-packed that pair perfectly with their brews. It’s the kind of food that feels just rustic enough to match the vibe, but still gourmet enough to impress a serious foodie. Speaking of vibes - Roughhouse nails it. The setting is stunning, with a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere that makes you want to kick back and stay awhile - it's pure Texas charm. You’ll feel like you're hanging out at a friend’s ranch (a friend who happens to be a genius at beer and sandwiches). Roughhouse stands out not just for their top-tier beer and delicious food, but for the heart and authenticity that Davy and Alex bring to every part of the experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 would recommend. This place is a *must-visit* for anyone who loves good beer, good food, and even better people.

Lovely microbrewery just far enough off the main road to feel like a little retreat. A nice selection of beer types, which included a saison, granting it instant bonus points. Very nice folks too. They took the time to explain their cave-aged beers, which is a feature unique to their location. Branding and march is on point too. Most seating is outdoors with plenty of shaded spots and an outdoor stage. I'm already planning my next trip to Roughhouse. It stands apart from the microbrewery pack and well worth the drive.

Public golf course
Double J Ranch Golf Club is a hidden gem that has been making visible progress under new ownership. Despite previous negative reviews, the recent improvements are evident, with new golf carts and a clubhouse. The course itself is challenging and enjoyable, especially considering the efforts to maintain it in good shape despite weather conditions. The staff provides excellent hospitality, making for a great overall experience. While there are ongoing improvements such as construction on cart paths, the friendly atmosphere and dedication to enhancing the course make it worth visiting again.
Played Sunday 02/16/2025. it's been about 3 years since we played out there. Glad to see the course taking shape again. Fairways and greens were excellent. Tough conditions due to wind but what a great layout. Some holes test even the best ball strikers and some let you just go all out. Can't wait to go back out here again. Great staff also called to see how round went after can't think of any course that has ever done that before.

I have been golfing at woodcreek my entire life. Probably 25 years and me and my brother play very often and love it. After recently re opening they have raised their rate to 90$ on the weekend. I’m sorry but woodcreek will never be a 90$ round course. You can drive 30 min and play Vaaler or The Bandit for that money. It’s a shame because I was excited about them laying new sod on the greens and tee boxes but I don’t see how that makes it a 90$ course. I’m sure I can’t be the only one who feels this way.
Jesse M — Google review
Fun track, very fun seeing so many deer on the course in the middle of the day. Very great and friendly staff, tight, challenging fairways, but the greens leave much to be desired. Many areas with no grass and bumpy putts. Should not be a $85 weekend tee time, $60 at most. Overall, amazing staff, if you don’t care about green quality, great course to play
Charlie F — Google review
The group of 4 that I play with regularly live in different parts of the hill country and we play at several different courses. I always push for Woodcreek/Double J because it’s where I learned to play and I enjoy it. During our round today I was told by the group this will probably be the last time I convince them to come here due to the 20% fee increase, state of the cart paths, lack of driving range, and lack of pro shop/grill. After our round we noticed that Double J’s Monday to Thursday rates are more expensive than several other courses in the area as well.
Davis H — Google review
Played this course 5/18/25. The fairways were nice and green. There were a few brown spots but that is going to be on most courses that you play. Some greens were a little bumpy do to grass transitioning but not bad overall. This course is a really good layout. All the staff was supper nice and friendly. Can't wait to see the new bar-pro shop. Planning another golf outing here as we speek. Great job guy's!
Gaylon S — Google review
PROS If you want a course that requires some accuracy in your play, Double J offers some variety among holes to do that. CONS 1) Absurdly expensive for what it is. $59 for 18 and $54 for 9 (why even bother with a different price?) Drive 25 minutes further and you can play Vaaler which is a beautifully maintained, championship course for just $30 more. Head up to Marble Falls and play Hidden Falls public course for $30 LESS on a course thats better kept, nicer folks, great greens and fairways (no traps on this course) full driving and chipping range and putting greens. And both these courses will challenge your game. 2) Fairways are in marginal shape 3) Traps are hard as a rock and full of rocks and grass 4) No driving or chipping ranges just a very small putting green 5) VERY slow play. The above mentioned courses can battle slow play as well at times but at least the price and the care of each course makes it worth it. 6) Currently at Double J you can only play the back 9 holes - no price break and even slower Summary: The price just isn't worth it and I see from other reviews, most agree. Yes they're under construction and making improvements but not enough for these prices. Would love to see this place do well but just too many other better places to play with all else considered.
The S — Google review
I did have a good time with my foursome last week at Double J. The course had some pretty big issues. They are in the process of redoing the cart paths. It was a mess. Now if I was in the fairway all day, I would not of had any issues until I got to the greens. Seemingly most greens had spots (big) that were diseased or just dead. The layout is good and we had fun, but it was not worth $60. I would have been really upset had we played on the weekend with those rates. Will look again once the cart paths are done.
Chris B — Google review
was one of my favorite courses id play weekly - but they continuously bump prices every few month & now it’s sitting at $90 bucks for a wknd round…. way too much for this course. probably wont be playing here anymore unfortunately

Many of the displayed artworks are created by nationally renowned artists residing in Wimberley. The gallery represents over 50 local and regional artists with a wide range of artistic media at various price points.
A very beautiful art gallery in the town square area of Wimberley. We stopped on our way to Austin and the whole town is beautiful and have these pretty art galleries. This gallery had a great collection by some of the local artists spread across different rooms inside the gallery. The place is run by an old couple whose warmth and smile lit up the gallery even more. The collection here has a wide variety of paintings in terms of use of base materials, price and size. Overall a great place if you are looking to buy those pieces to make your home look even more beautiful.

A true Texas gem! Art on 12 is the perfect little local art gallery! The curated manner in how the works are displayed makes it feel like you are in a big city art gallery, but the personal touches and friendly staff remind you that you are in a Texas art gallery! Art can be intimidating to a lot of people and this lovely spot makes it accessible and appreciable! We have now bought several pieces here and will continue to visit regularly!
John — Google review
Wimberley Texas is all about art and art on 12 will not disappoint. There seems to be about 20 to 30 in-house artists producing medium to higher quality art. When you get out of the big cities and into the countryside you begin to see representational art such as paintings of rural Landscapes and the like. If you like plain air painting you'll see a lot of work in this style, old buildings, old cars, windmills, Longhorn cattle and the like.

The long-established Wimberley tradition, the Broken Arrow Rock Shop and Gallery, has been thriving for over six decades. This renowned establishment offers an extensive selection of collectibles, gifts, beads, jewelry, as well as rocks and minerals from various parts of the globe. The shop's impressive array of gemstones is truly captivating; each gem comes with informative descriptions regarding its properties and uses. The store's arrangement is both aesthetically pleasing and well-organized.
Fantastic shop in Wimberley square. My partner loves stones and we stopped for her, but even I had a great time browsing through the collection. They have a huge variety of unique, beautiful stones, decorations, and ornaments. The staff was vey helpful as well. We would have loved to spend more time but unfortunately, we only got here a little before closing.

This is my wife's absolute favorite shop in Wimberly. We never make a trip there without stopping in. The lady that own this shop are so friendly and knowledgeable. Them and their pup make you feel welcome. If you're looking for a unique stone or trinket stop in.

I’ve been going here since I was a little girl— back when it was along the creek! The selection never disappoints. It’s an awe inspiring collection of fossils, crystals, beads and even native Texan finds! I used to come here with my allowance to buy the raw geodes to hammer open with my Dad. Now I buy them already split 😜 I’ve since brought my family back here and brought my boyfriend who is new to crystals. He purchased half a dozen of them— the selection is just that colorful and magical! The current owner knows EVERYTHING you could possibly want to know about healing properties, history, where the rocks are from and more. She is like an open book— willing to share all of her knowledge! I highly recommend to anyone visiting Wimberley or to anyone who is a collector ✨

My mother has visited Wimberley for many years, coming home with unique finds every time. One item in particular was a beautiful blue moon hand painted on a vintage window that we have loved over the years and still hangs in our art studio. It wasn't until I visited The Tree House that I realized just about every item my parents brought back were from this magical place! Boho vibe with gift ideas for ANY occasion, this shop is a MUST for anyone visiting Wimberley. Every time I visit, the store has a whole new look and feel. The staff are beyond helpful and there's something for every budget which is always a plus. Cannot wait to go back and see what new arrivals have come in! (Looks like I'll need a bigger house)

Jacob’s Well Natural Area is worth a trip! Short hike to the Well but wear sturdy shoes. I took a free outdoor yoga class (last one) but hoping they’ll offer again next summer. There’s quite a bit to explore on the property!

⚠️ Research ahead of time if they are allowing swimming. This would be a phenomenal place if the water was higher. The water level has been low due to a 3 year long drought according to one of the park rangers. Unfortunately that means no swimming and a dry creek bed. The park had nice hiking trails and really interesting master gardeners' demo gardens to check out. The park rangers were kind and informative. I would have given a 5-star rating if we could have experienced swimming there, but this is absolutely no fault to the park itself. Cypress Falls Swimming Hole is nearby if you need to take a dip but it is only open Thursday-Sunday Visited on May 12, 2025 Reviewed on May 13, 2025

We were so sad that the water levels were such that no swimming was allowed, but still a beautiful place to visit. I definitely recommend hydrating well beforehand and taking some water with you as it doesn't take long on the trails to get overheated. If you're going to visit, know that no family pets are allowed on the trails or at the well. Even though you can't swim there's still some fun stuff for the family to do. They have a natural human sun dial, a meditation walk, an area for kids to build and use their imagination with various pipes etc, and then plenty of beautiful sites to see and take photos. I hope to visit again when water levels are restored one day and take the family swimming at Jacob's Well!
Eddie B — Google review
The creek around the well is dry at this point. Swimming is strictly prohibited. In addition to signs, the workers approached us with a verbal warning on the way to the well and then literally ran in fear that we would be swimming. I say the pictures on the web are highly exaggerated. The well itself is no more than 6 feet wide and maybe 8 feet long at the most. The sides are clearly overgrown with eel. Idk. It’s interesting if you are in the area but it’s not worth a special trip to it. Also, it is apparently in a chain of underwater caverns that are over a mile long.
Anastasia P — Google review
Beautiful park. Do plan ahead and buy tickets to swim if you want to swim. Information is on the brochure posted. The garden and labyrinth were highlights also. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Great park for hiking. With the drought water is too low to swim. But if you're looking for an easy nature hike, this is a good park

Beautiful area. I was quite surprised how big everything seemed. Pictures don't do this place justice. It's definitely worth the trip. It was only a 1.5 hour trip from Austin with traffic. Beautiful scenery along the way. Wish I had more time to explore. The little picnic area is nice but the views aren't so great with the fence and all.
Todd S — Google review
The drive through Devils Backbone was beautiful and scenic as described. When you arrive to the picnic/rest area spot, you'll come across a serene and sombering chain-linked fence made up of handmade items from hundreds if not thousands of loved ones memorializing the life once lived. It's a beautiful reminder of those lossed and for those of us still here to continue living our best every day.

Devil’s Backbone is a beautiful scenic spot nestled in the hills near Canyon Lake, Wimberley, and San Marcos. It’s a peaceful overlook with benches, shaded areas, and spots for barbecue—perfect for a casual picnic or just a relaxing break during a drive. There’s a unique memorial fence where people leave personal items and crosses, giving the place a quiet, reflective vibe. I usually go in the evening or at night—it’s a great place to unwind, think, or just hang out with friends, play some music, and talk. Definitely one of my favorite chill spots around San Marcos.
Aiyubur R — Google review
What a beautiful place to stop and take in what Texas is really all about. Texas hill country for miles and miles. The memorials are just a small part of the beautiful scenery.
Lynsey B — Google review
3.5 This is man made shrine on the side of the road. There are a few picnic tables near so you can sit and enjoy the somewhat obstructed view. There is a lot of road noise so it's not exactly peace and quiet.
LaRonda G — Google review
Stopped here to checkout the view. I found the fencing very interesting. Don't know why the things were there but I'm sure they were sentimental to the people that put them there. Not much for parking it's just to drive through rest area and it's for both directions. The parking is on the drive-thru area. But if you're just stopping for a quick walk around and to stretch your legs it's perfect and the view is amazing.

Nestled just a stone's throw from Main Street in downtown Fredericksburg, Limestone Terrace Vineyard offers an enchanting escape for wine lovers. This charming vineyard specializes in crafting bold Mediterranean-style wines exclusively from Texas-grown grapes sourced from the picturesque Hill Country and High Plains. Guests can enjoy a unique tasting experience in a shared room with Buli Wines of Tuscany, where the fusion of Tuscan elegance and Texan spirit creates an unforgettable ambiance.
Super area outside to sit, relax, listen to music. The view on the vineyard is beautiful. In terms of wine, I especially liked the Dolcetto. It's a red wine slightly sweet but an amazing spice taste for me Especially cardamom, nutmeg and cinnamon.

My husband and I stopped here for a glass of wine with our baby. We were looking forward to getting out of the house and our baby likes to get out too. There were two ladies at the bar serving the wine who weren't very welcoming. It seemed like they were annoyed we brought our baby. They told us we should check beforehand with wineries if babies are welcome. We even sat outside with no one else around so he wouldn't bother them in case he got fussy. Wine was ok. Nothing special. 12/16/2024 Update after seeing response. This was not meant for another winery. This review was based on our experience from a month or 2 ago.

My family and I originally were planning on going to another winery in the area but it happened to be closed and got referred to this one. Darryl, one of the workers at the winery, was so nice and very knowledge about the wineries! It is a beautiful view as well. Definitely worth the drive from Austin!
Andrea Z — Google review
Loved the way they had this set up. It was really nice. It's a young estate but everything they did during our visit was top notch. We didn't feel like customers or tourists, we felt like we were just enjoying an afternoon on the deck at the vineyard overlooking the vines. Would've liked it if they talked about the wine or had more info about the wine. Some little snacks and some water or crackers to cleanse your pallet between tastings would be nice although you can bring your own water. Great service, very friendly. The wines were tasty and enjoyable.
