Wine bar
Rails A Cafe at the Depot is a top dining spot in Kerrville, offering classic American dishes and a selection of fine wines. Housed in a restored 1915 train depot, the restaurant provides a casual atmosphere with an option to dine on the patio. Known for its beautiful design and association with one of Kerrville's iconic landmarks, this award-winning eatery stands out as one of the best restaurants in the city.
My husband and I are new to the Kerrville area and we recently decided on lunch at the Rails A Cafe at the Depot. Before I get to the food aspect of our visit, I must mention that my husband enjoys history and the restaurant has a book that they shared with him to peruse. That was a very nice gesture from the staff; now on to the meal. He enjoyed the All Natural North American Bison Burger and I order the Wild Mushroom Quesadillas. Both were very delicious. Our server, Izaiah, was attentive, cordial, and a delight to meet. And although the desserts looked scrumptious, we were full from our meals so we did not indulge. Thank you all at the Rails for a wonderful experience!

Rails Café at the Depot – Kerrville, TX Tucked inside a beautifully restored historic train depot, Rails Café serves up more than just a meal—it delivers charm, comfort, and seriously good eats. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with vintage touches that make it feel like a step back in time. The menu leans into classic American dishes with a fresh, flavorful twist. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty lunch or a laid-back dinner, you’ll find something that hits the spot. But here’s the golden rule: don’t skip dessert. Their homemade pies and cakes are the real stars—rich, indulgent, and unforgettable. One bite and you’ll be plotting your return visit. Must-try: The crème brûlée or one of their seasonal pies—seriously worth every bite. Pros: Charming historic setting Friendly, attentive staff Fresh, flavorful food Legendary desserts Cons: Can get busy, especially on weekends (call ahead!) Verdict: Rails Café isn’t just a great place to eat—it’s a Kerrville gem. Come for the comfort food, stay for the dessert, and leave already planning your next visit. Rosa Carrillo

We came for brunch before we left back home and this place was amazing. Our waitress was really friendly and awesome I forgot her name but it started with a “K”. We had dessert and she was even nice enough to pack another piece and pack it on ice and made it all the way home! Definitely worth every penny and everything is made in house!

spectacular, didn’t disappoint. second time back for me and sat outside. Weather was nice and cool, kinda windy but didn’t bother us at all. I got the panini, had mozzarella on the side, tasted delicious! Boyfriend had bison burger, devoured. The waiter/waitress were very pleasant and attentive. Dessert is definitely worth trying, so many delicious flavors to choose from. We got one to go and can’t wait to try it at home. We’ll be back soon!

***Updated Review*** I’ve had the pleasure of coming back to this café a few times now, and every visit has been just as delightful as the first. Kali, Cass, and Eric consistently go above and beyond to make the experience thoughtful, warm, and enjoyable. It’s the little touches that make such a big difference, like the time they dried the outdoor tables and chairs after a rain shower and even brought out cushions so my dog and I could sit comfortably outside. That level of care is rare, and it truly makes you feel welcome. Chewbacca (my dog) is just as smitten with this place as I am! He devoured the Lassie Meal (chicken and rice) from their dog menu, and when they surprised him with a fresh-baked dessert made in-house for pups, his tail could not stop wagging. It’s safe to say he’s now a loyal customer too. For myself, every dish I’ve tried has been a hit. The shrimp Caesar wrap is one of my favorites—the combination of black beans, queso fresco, and that creamy chipotle sauce creates a burst of flavor that feels fresh, unique, and deeply satisfying (and as a California native, I know good wraps when I taste them!). On another visit, I ordered the creamy penne chicken with bacon on Kali’s recommendation, and I’m so glad I listened. The Alfredo sauce was hands-down the best I’ve ever had, rich, smooth, perfectly seasoned and the asparagus wasn’t just an afterthought, it was tender and plentiful, adding the perfect balance. And of course, the desserts are unforgettable. The lemon berry cake was moist, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. But the real showstopper was the decadent chocolate cake drizzled with caramel sauce, it was the kind of dessert you want to savor slowly, but it disappears too quickly because it’s just that good. This café has truly become a special place for me, not just for the consistently delicious food, but for the people who make it such a joyful and memorable experience. Kali, Cass, and Eric bring so much heart to what they do, and it shows in every visit. ***Original Review*** My partner and I had the most fun, uplifting, and truly unique experience at this café, thanks to our incredible server, Kali. From the moment she greeted us, her beautiful spirit and vibrant energy made the atmosphere feel warm and welcoming. She didn’t just take our order, she brought the menu to life! The way she described the food and desserts was filled with so much passion and confidence that we could genuinely hear the leadership and love she puts into what she does. On her recommendation, I had the B.L.A.T. sandwich with turkey and mozzarella—absolutely delicious! My partner went with the shrimp Caesar wrap, which was equally amazing. And when Kali started describing the award-winning Puns Colada cake… there was no way I could resist. I’m so glad I didn’t, it was everything she promised and more! We’ll definitely be coming back, not just for the delicious food, but to experience Kali’s amazing energy again. She turned a casual café visit into something really memorable. Thank you Kali we will see you again!

This place has been on my radar for about 6 months now. So today, I took the short drive from Bandera and had lunch here. I have to be honest, this place was amazing on all fronts! The vibe and the atmosphere are absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed my meal on the outdoor patio, and it was quite lovely. My server, Kali was so sweet, so nice, and super professional. She explained the daily specials, answered a few questions I had about the menu, and did the PERFECT job of being attentive to my table, without "hovering". Kali was awesome! I had the Osso Buco and it was delicious! Then.... and then, lol I had the Pina Colada cake for dessert. Real talk, the cake was one of the best desserts I've had in my ENTIRE life. I already know, that Rails A Cafe will be a regular dining experience for me. Simply amazing!

I absolutely love coming here! The weather is perfect in October and the staff is super friendly and attentive. We had a lovely waiter named Ryan who was very nice to us and made sure we were taken well care of. Food amazing 🤩 as always. Highly recommend the Alfredo linguine.
Lauren F — Google review
My family went for dinner for the first time recently. We made a reservation, and I'm glad we did, as the tables were filling up fast. There are limited inside tables, but there is also a pretty patio for outside dining. The menu is fairly extensive, and everything sounded wonderful; it was hard to choose. The food did not disappoint - it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly done. The staff was friendly. My only complaint was the waitress came off a bit condescending and judgmental, which made us all feel a bit uncomfortable. She told us how we should order or food or what we would or would not want. Instead of it sounding helpful, she acted like we should know their menu and how things worked. With that said, she was attentive with the table, and we didn't have to wait for things. We will definitely go back, as it didn't completely ruin the experience, but I'm hopeful we get another server in the future.

Nestled in the heart of Kerrville, Francisco's Restaurant is a delightful culinary gem that beautifully marries history with flavor. This charming venue, adorned with vibrant artwork and offering sidewalk seating under lush green umbrellas, buzzes with life during lunchtime as diners savor an array of dishes. From hearty turkey sandwiches to fresh garden salads and traditional Mexican delights like chalupas compuestas and pozole verde, there's something for everyone.
I love this place!! Sat outside and had lunch! 13.95 for salad and a half of sandwich with fresh pumpernickel bread and a slice of watermelon! Beautiful old building and flowers outside with garden tables!
Melodie G — Google review
Had dinner with my son and daughter in law last night at Francisco’s. Beautiful building inside and out. Nice atmosphere. Great service. The food was great. We had Cilantro Lime Grilled Chicken, Chicken Alfredo and Fried Shrimp. Good size parking lot across the street with crosswalks next to the Guadalupe River and along the street.
Susan R — Google review
Francisco’s is a cute restaurant that serves mostly Mexican food. We ordered the fish tacos, the special of the chalupa with chicken (forgot the name), a couple of kids meals which were all tasty. We did think the tortilla soup was much better than the chicken posole. The Mexican martini was ok too, but very strong, lacked Olive juice and I didn’t don’t get the shaker with leftover drink to refill my glass. This is something I’ve always received as part of my Mexican martini order. The regular margarita was good. Flan for dessert was good too and had a nice orange vanilla flavor. As for the restaurant it was nice, clean and had a simple layout with paintings on the wall. The service was the best part of our experience. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful and made sure we were taken care of. Overall food was ok, the layout was really good, the place was clean and the service was great. Great location too!

Excellent cuisine and menu. Wait staff is highly professional. Acapulco and San Miguel come to mind as sophisticated but not stuffy. Bar and wine choices are good for lunch, happy hour and evening dining.

I had the Enchilads Verde and a House Margarita w/ a Tajin rim. Sat outside with our pups. Everything was fantastic.
Das T — Google review
We went to the Korean BBQ place next door but they were closed and we were hungry. We had the specials as we were told that is what Francisco's was known for instead of ordering off menu... We started with chips and salsa..the chips were a bit burned and the salsa tasted like can tomatoes with a dash of cilantro. We had the Chalupa Veracruz (a chalupa with spicy chilled chicken salad on top) and the Fish Tacos (fried tilapia with cabbage and yogurt dressing). The chalupa sounded much better than what was served...it was literally just a scoop of chicken salad on a hard tostada and it was not very flavorful. The fish was dry and over fried, the cabbage and yogurt sauce did little to add to the flavor. Both were served with tortilla soup that was very greasy (you could see the grease beading up on the side of the cup) and tasted like can mix veggies with soggy chips . Our bill was almost $60, which was quite a bit for the portion size and lack of flavor. On a positive note, our server Cory was amazing and anticipated what we would want before we even asked! He brought jalepenos and extra plates and salsa without us saying anything! He was absolutely the best part of the meal and deserves 5 stars just for him!
Susie B — Google review
Very quaint place. Quiet and cool vibe. Visited by many locals. The menu is not large, but it has quality choices. The grilled shrimp was excellent.
Alex R — Google review
Really good food and a nice, quiet place to sit and have some really good quality food. I had the fish taco with the pozoles Verdes. At first glance, I was certain I was gonna need seconds. The portions just looked too small and seemed like they were just going to leave me wanting more. Big mistake. I ate everything and it was really one of the best meals I ever had. Everything was fresh, or at least seemed to be and when I was done, I couldn't eat another bite. Wait staff is very friendly and they even have tables outside for those who enjoy people watching. I will definitely be back and can't wait to do so!

Pint & Plow Brewing Company is not just a bar, but also a restaurant that attracts customers from near and far. It's known for its beautiful ambiance, delicious food, and top-notch customer service. The establishment offers a variety of vegan options, including a roasted beet sandwich and flavorful salads. Additionally, it boasts an impressive selection of locally sourced snacks, sandwiches, salads, and pizzas.
Delicious brews and eats, tucked in just off the main drag of town. The scotch all and american IPA were very good. The green salad was healthy and nourishing. The pizza was thin, crispy and tasting. Choices for kids, adults for both meals and snacking alike. We really enjoyed the indoor/outdoor feel. The atmosphere was inviting. Service was always smiling and helpful. We would like to come back and enjoy some of their live music in the future. The attached coffee shop was a huge bonus for our group of weary travelers.

Friendly staff. My wife and I split the street tacos and chips with salsa. They were very good, and there was plenty for both of us. As usual, the beer was great. One of our favorite stops when we're in Kerrville.

Home town Kerrville at its BEST! You can’t beat their Rueben. Numerous choices of craft beer, sandwiches and salads. Top it off with an oatmeal cookie. Enjoy LIVE ENTERTAINMENT on Friday nights. It’s a great spot to sit outside or indoors if you so desire.

Got off the interstate for lunch and was surprised to find this amazing brewery. I thought it was new but was surprised to find out it's been open 13 years, you would never know it because the owners obviously take pride in keeping it brand new. Food, beer and service are all top notch.

My wife and I were in San Antonio for a conference, so we drove out to Kerrville to meet my niece and her baby for lunch. We met at Pint & Plow for lunch and we were quite pleased with the food, drink, atmosphere, staff, and service. My wife had the chicken Caesar salad (note, the small is more than enough for a human) and I had the Rueben sandwich. The food was delicious and there is a good selection of craft beers. They also serve Mexican Coke, they must know a guy. There is also a good size coffee bar that I did not have the opportunity to indulge in, too bad for me. Overall, this was a very good experience.
Brian M — Google review
The walk to Pint & Plow from the river trail is about 7 min. We enjoyed their pizza the first time we came. For this visit, we had the reuben, a small deconstructed falafel salad, and the hyphen burger. Despite being busy, we managed to have our food in 10 min. The fries were wonderfully seasoned and crunchy. The corned beef in the reuben was perfect. The tahini in the salad dressing could have been a little more apparent but we still enjoyed it. Also, the side salad was a great value for $6. The restaurant was clean and we loved the feeling being outside yet indoors. Friendly servers & staff. There's a complimentary water station and tables outside had water bowls for dogs. Overall, we loved our visit. Can't wait to go back!

I absolutely love this place!! The food was amazing! The beer was amazing! The atmosphere was amazing! The flight is definitely a must have to try them all! I love that they balance trendy with history. The fact sheet about all the historic preservation they’ve done is awesome. We where constantly checked on and I can’t think of a cooler place to stop!

We're beer snobs, flat out. That said, I was blown away as they were all good/great. I generally hate porters and dislike most Octoberfest.... these were very good. ....but the Belgian, 👌 wow, that level of execution is rare.

Latin American restaurant
Mamacita's Restaurant is a part of a small chain that offers Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine in a lively, family-friendly setting. The restaurant stands out for its consistent and modern take on authentic Mexican dishes. The vibrant atmosphere, adorned with colorful decor and art, adds to the dining experience. Patrons rave about the delicious homemade-style meals such as Enchiladas and Fajitas. The menu features timeless Mexican flavors like Tacos Al Carbon and Shrimp Quesadilla.
We had a great late lunch here the other day. On pulling in I thought we were in the wrong parking lot as it feels like a hotel parking lot. The entryway is spacious and beautifully decorated. The interior is modeled after a small town with false front “buildings” and a twinkling ceiling. We were pleasantly greeted by the hostess and immediately given chips and salsas. I really like this practice and I don’t see it much anymore. Our waitress didn’t give us any time to look over the menu before coming over to take our order but she was certainly efficient albeit not overly friendly. The food was very good, I had the soup and salad special and it was very good and was more than I could eat. Both the tortilla soup and the chicken Caesar salad were loaded with chicken. My husband enjoyed his enchilada meal as well. The desserts looked amazing but I had no room left! Next time I’m up for carrot cake! The bathroom was clean and well stocked. The prices were reasonable, but skip the margarita, it’s watery. Something fun is that they make their tortillas out in the open and it’s fun to see.

The biggest Mexican restaurant I”ve ever been to, with a coffee shop ! I was pleasantly surprised. Very cool place. They put alot of work into the massive building. Inside is beautiful.A little stream out front and all lit up. The decor is very cool. The chandelier at the entrance is beautiful . The menu has a lot of options. The service was fast and friendly. The chips and dip were some of the best around. The green sauce is like no other. I had the chimichanga with the child con carne sauce . The portions were large I had a togo box. Great wine selection & a separate bar area you can eat in. I was just in town for a couple day but will definitely find my way back here when I’m in town. We met the manager on the way out the door, he was sure to pose for as he said “the best pic yet “He was a great sport !

Food was ok, nothing great. My wife got the cheese enchiladas and I got the burritos. The charro beans had way too much Cilantro in them and was very overpowering. The rice was a little dry but tasted good. The meat in the burritos was ground so fine that it was like mush and was not seasoned well. The enchiladas weren’t bad. The chips and salsa were very good and on point. The service was excellent. Very attentive and kept drinks refilled. Food came out pretty quick as well. Sweet tea was not very sweet. A little overpriced for what we got.
Clever C — Google review
This is an amazing restaurant. I had heard it was a very good place to eat Mexican food and wow it was all delicious. I live out of town, but it was worth the hour drive one way. The chips were very fresh, and the salsa was some of the very best I had ever had. I know this is true because a week later I am wishing I had a bowl of the green salsa. The portions are large, and the waitresses are friendly and make sure you dont need anything. This is a wonderful restaurant and one of the best ones I've been to in the past year. I'll be back!

Everything about Mamacita's is on point!! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a friendly staff member who quickly sat us down. The atmosphere was wonderful, it's definitely a must see- from the beautiful chandler to the starry night sky ceiling! Kim was our waitress and I must say, the nicest and sweetest person! There are so many different choices on the menu that its hard to choose from🤗 and our plates were delicious with loads of flavor! Prices were decent and fair, especially for a plate full amazing food! I will always recommend Mamacita's, it's truly the best restaurant in town!
TC G — Google review
This is my first time trying Mexican food, and it serves as a great first time tryout! Taco was great with melted cheese, and the corn chip with sour cream is really good, too! However, there is a strange flavor in rice which I don’t really like, but all in all, is a great restaurant to give it a try! We like the inner decoration of this restaurant especially, just like a small but luxurious palace!
劉堯馨 — Google review
Once the finest restaurant in Kerrvile, sadly, Mamacita's has gone downhill. We waited 25 minutes after our reservation for a table. The claw machine still advertises pigs yet contains only balls, at $1 per chance. Once finally seated on a hot Texas day, water was served only by request. Ice tea refills came only after request, and then slowly, and the wrong type (sweet/unsweet) as often as not. Those who were having beer or cocktails were never offered another. The server never inquired how the food was nor how we enjoyed the meal. The food itself was good, but nothing that amazing. The carnitas plate seemed to be mostly onions, but the pork that did exist underneath was tasty and well cooked. The salsas are good and plentiful. The tacos are large. So the food is brighter than the table service. When the check came (after much delay) the pre-set tip options are ludicrously high. Fortunately, the option to leave a custom tip does exist. I would go again in hopes tonight was an abberarion. Hopefully, they will at least restore the pigs to the claw machine.

This is a beautiful restaurant. We could tell the ingredients were fresh. I ordered the poblano. It had a lot of ground beef in it. I really couldn't taste the poblano, but it was decent. My friend ordered the flautas and it was delicious. The sopapilla were more like a bunuelo. Excellent crunchy taste with cinnamon, powdered sugar and honey. There's plenty of parking and the service was excellent. I'd stop by again.

Grape Juice in Kerrville is a unique spot that offers a blend of art and local spins on American cuisine. The establishment features an array of craft beers, a wine shop, and a laid-back atmosphere. The decor exudes a relaxed vibe with brown curtains dividing the lounge area and twinkling lights adorning the back patio.
Stopped by for a quick drink and was very impressed! The bartenders were awesome and great at recommending something I would love. Sadly, I didn't get a chance to try the food, but from what I saw, it looked great! It was a nice place to chill and get away from the heat. Definitely recommend!

I've been visiting Kerrville a couple times a year for a while now, and I try to visit a new restraunt each time. Grape Juice has had the most impressive food in Kerrville thus far. If you would like an upscale meal in a nice and more casual environment, this is the place. Whoever makes the menu here is doing everything right. Everything is delicious, but the brussel sprouts are a must try. Thank you Mel for the excellent evening! I was very impressed.

If I lived closer to the area, then I definitely could see this as my top chill spot. The food is great, but it's the atmosphere that will keep you coming back again and again. The service is top-notch, and they have plenty of options for those wishing to partake in some adult beverages.

Home away from home! I love everything about Grapejuice from the people, to their connection to the community, and especially their food. It's more than a place to have a meal or have drinks; I think it's a prime example of a network of people that not only want to be good at what they do, but do good too. Always order the special -- it's like a golden ticket.

Love this restaurant! The staff are friendly, the food is amazing, the vibes are great. Can’t say enough good things about this place. The pulled pork nachos and Brussel sprouts are 10/10. Excellent spot for catching up with friends, date night, or when you just want to eat something really good.

Protein choices were great and unusual; a lot of venison, antelope and boar choices. Unfortunately, the tortilla chips that came with the venison cheese dip were very stale. The grits - shrimp and sirloin - were yummy. Everyone was very friendly. The music was a little loud to be ale to carry on a conversation.

This was first ever visit to Grape Juice. I popped in for a quick lunch at 11:00 am and it was not bust at all. I sat at the bar where I ordered the lunch special, Shrimp & Grits. I often order Shrimp & Grits at various restaurants and I must say, this place does it very well. The shrimp was good size and the taste and texture was perfect. The service was also outstanding. I look forward to coming back to Grape Juice in the near future.

My daughter and I shared the avocado fries, beef tacos, and the chicken tortilla soup. The food was so warm and comforting. We loved that everything was fresh and prepared right when you order. It's a place that's hidden and easy to miss, but DON'T! It is one of out favorite places to eat!

Almost a perfect meal. The Avocado fries is a delicious monstrosity of things you would never dream would work together but they are incredible. The bacon wrapped pork loin in the delicious glaze with the cream corn flan is Amazing. So I was so excited to see creme Brule on the menu (one of my absolute favorite deserts). I'm sad to say even though it was pretty. It fell flat. It was watery, lumpy, even some ingredients not mixed very well and last the top was over done to the extent it was burnt. However I believe the meal and appetizer overall made it so I was only a little sad. I will definitely come again.

Avocado fries are so Amazing we bought them 2 days in a row. Bacon wrapped pork chop with the southern comfort Demi glaze is fantastic! Park tostadas, green enchiladas, crepes, and baked chicken are all excellent choices! Desserts = best bread pudding and cream brûlée I’ve had in a long time! But that chocolate mousse was absolutely delicious! Great family atmosphere here, too.

No Star!! An unpleasant experience! My turkey avocado sandwich was served on burnt toast that had been scraped. I literally had “burnt crumb dust”. There was one, deli slice, piece of turkey only on half of the sandwich. Should have taken a picture of the half without any turkey. One truly sad sandwich! 😔

Everything here is apparently made from scratch so the wait was a little longer than usual, but it was totally worth it. I ate the fried steak and enjoyed every bite of it!!It was seasoned delightfully and the meat itself was quite moist. 10/10 would recommend

I been wanting to try this place for awhile and the results were okay. When we first walked in for their dinner special, the waitress was eating so she stopped to seat us. I felt bad about that. Then the glasses we received for our drinks looked a little dirty. The waitress placed the wrong order for my son. The food took awhile to come out when there was one other family. My oldest son's burger was salty but tolerable as he put it. My wife and mine chicken fried steak lacked salt (irony?). And my daughter's chicken alfredo was more oily then Iam used to. I would give them a another chance when I am in town, so I can try their lunch specials.

Magnificent! Delicacies with French and Mexican flavors!! Thanks to the owner and chef Patricia who is French and her husband from Mexico. We had crepes with shrimp and freshly made basil sauce, Tortilla soup, Creme Broule and Chocolate madness for deserts all paired with Glass of Pino Grigio and Irish coffee for desert, owners receipe! It a must stop if you are in Kerville, Tx. Monika and Greg from Houston

Great place to eat and experience some history. We had the Avocado Fries, Tortilla Soup and the Pulled Pork Tostadas. The bartender and the Cook were a delight to talk to. Definitely going back every chance we get!

Lovely place. Beautiful view. Texas comfort food. Nice selection of Texas favorites such as chicken fried steak, burgers, salads, cobbler, cake, and pie. Also, warm dinner rolls! Nice selection of sides, so get something other than fries!

Party of 4 on a Friday at noon. About half full of customers. Excellent menu selection with reasonable prices. Service was great from the start with a solid knowledge of food allergens since one of our party has dietary issues. BLT with okra and Reuben with onion rings were highlights. Some of the best rings we've had in a long time. Noise level was low so having a conversation was not difficult. The view to the river added to the experience. Parking can be a bit tricky when the restaurant is crowded.

We found Billy Gene's when in Mountain Town, TX for a wedding. This place is AMAZING!!! This resteraunt consistently had a full parking lot and was located right on the river, with a dog friendly patio so we had to check it out. Ask for Timothy B, he was our server! Tim was friendly, attentive and very helpful in our efforts to pick selections from a well stocked menu! We LOVED this place and will absolutely plan to return the next time we are near Kerrville. Highly recommend the chicken fried steak, onion rings, strawberry cake, and Texan Salad!! We loved this place so much we ate lunch and ordered additional entrees to go to enjoy later at our hotel!

I had been here once before, and enjoyed the food. My friend had never been to Kerrville, and we planned to celebrate his birthday by visiting the Empty Cross. We stopped at Billy Gene's for lunch. The food was great. I ordered a steak with a side salad and a baked potato. My friend had the meatloaf special with 3 sides. We also split an order of onion rings, which were excellent.

We just ate here for lunch. Two adults and a child. The sever, I believe his name was Tim, was amazing. We had the Tuesday lunch special - battered Shrimp. They were big and delicious. For the lunch specials, they do come with set sides. If you want to change them it is a $1 charge. Instead of coleslaw, we got a side salad. I had the chicken, with bacon, cheese, and salsa. The chicken was a bit dry and hard to cook but was still yummy. The kids had a grilled cheese and changed the fries to mashed potatoes for a $1 upcharge. Her meal did come with a bottle of apple juice but we forgot it on the table. It was crowded, but we didn't feel rushed to get out. I believe it was the manager, but she came by and checked to make sure we had everything we needed.

Wonderful restaurant with friendly staff and great food. Had the fried mushrooms, chicken fried steak and sides. Watching humming birds, cool breeze and the Guadalupe river flowing ..... Perfect way to spend a meal
Kevin J — Google review
I originally ordered takeout but when I arrived to pick it up and noticed that they allowed dogs to be with you on the patio, I was delighted! We took our food to the patio to enjoy. What a gem here! The water view was amazing but watching the hummingbirds come to the various feeders had us in awe. Food was delicious and service was extremely friendly. Highly recommend and I wouldn’t hesitate one bit to return again soon. Check out our video on our experience on our channel on YouTube (Hammocks to Coasters).

I’ve never been so excited to write a review. Tim gave us the best service we’ve had at a restaurant in atleast 10 years. Possibly the best service I’ve ever had. Didn’t have to ask for a thing. Food was great. Views were spectacular. I’m already recommending this place to all my friends and family.

Since its establishment in 1989, it has gained a stellar reputation among locals and tourists. The restaurant prides itself on providing top-notch meals in an inviting environment. Visitors can enjoy delicious dishes like fried catfish while taking in the picturesque river scenery.
So much food! But it was all good and quite quickly served. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. It's not very fancy. Everything's deep fried. We shared a desert, more than enough!
Dew D — Google review
Not what I was expecting. We had the Mahi and rice it lacked taste. The shrimp was pretty good. My biggest complaint was service. The waiter was not very friendly and even the cashier was apathetic. Maybe this place is all about their catfish but I wouldn't return based off their service alone. I expected more from a restaurant by the river.
Wes G — Google review
Good restaurant, with a terrific view of the river! My favorite part of my meal was the loaded baked potato. I really appreciated the amount of toppings that come with it. The catfish was just okay- over breaded and underseasoned in my opinion. Still happy to have stopped by!
Morghan T — Google review
We stopped in for lunch at The Lakehouse and wow—what a fantastic experience! We started with the sampler appetizer (fried mushrooms, onion rings, and cheese sticks). Every bite was cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Absolutely delicious! The portions were generous, so we took half to go because there was no way we were leaving a bite behind. For the main course, I ordered the baked catfish with rice, coleslaw, and beans. The fish was baked perfectly—tender, flaky, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Such a perfect combination! My husband had the fried catfish and said it was outstanding—truly the treat of the Hill Country. Our server was welcoming, attentive, and spot on with everything. Great service, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere—we can’t wait to come back!

The fried mushrooms were the best we've ever had, and the ranch dressing was awesome. The chicken fried steak was amazing.
Jeff R — Google review
Catfish here looks like they take a filet and cut it in half and then looks like a potato chip fried way to crisp. Mushrooms could be cleaned more. Chicken fried chicken and steak are good. Overall, I would still eat there, maybe not catfish. They were closed Monday Sept. 22nd for repair, however they didn’t mention it on their website and we drove there for a birthday. Other people were driving in also. So didn’t eat there.

I've eaten at Lakehouse one time so far. I had the 4 catfish plate with fries, hush puppies and a salad. Excellent food and excellent service. I'll be back and I recommend this restaurant. I highly recommend the fried shrimp. Delicious.

I have eaten at this restaurant a handful of times and the food is always delicious. Today we went and had the catfish and let me tell you it was fresh, hot and delicious! My sides were pinto beans and coleslaw. Both were fantastic! Our waitress was over the top friendly and kept coming back to check on us. I love this place and even though I have to drive an hour to get there from San Antonio, I will continue to do so.

Acapulco is more than a restaurant to me. It is… everything. The very second my fiancée and I walked through the door, we felt like we had come home. Joey, our waiter, was prompt and attentive the moment we entered. He was cheerfully professional and friendly. The atmosphere was amazing, from the delightful decor to the warm lighting and subtle music that made the whole place feel like a comforting embrace. Every detail—from the vibrant colors to the carefully chosen art on the walls—felt intentional and inviting. And then there was the food. Absolutely phenomenal. Every bite of our meal was rich with flavor and clearly made with care. The chips were warm and crispy, the salsa fresh and zesty, and our entrées arrived perfectly cooked and generously portioned. We love you, Acapulco. We love you, Joey! ❤️🌯 🇲🇽 🤠

I had the beef quesadillas with guacamole and sour cream which were pretty good except for the hair I found in the sour cream. I asked for fresh guacamole and sour cream so I could finish the rest of my quesadilla. Then I found a piece of avocado skin in the guacamole. Waitress was horrified but apologetic. Manager knocked off $5 for a bad experience which ruined my dinner date with my wife and seriously FAILED to mitigate our horror and convince us to give them another try. Attentive and concerned management, hair nets for kitchen staff and a separated bar for noise reduction may have caused me to reconsider a return.

My son and I came in and found a nice spot to sit down. I was genuinely impressed by how fast and friendly the service was, which made us feel so welcome. The food was simply incredible! I decided to try two beef enchiladas with three eggs on top, and wow, it was such a delightful surprise—definitely my new favorite!

Anna was able to sit me quickly and the place was nice and clean. Very open and welcoming. Authentic salsa. Chips were good. Very thick and crunchy. The serving size was big. I had asked her which gave more steak, the fajitas or the brisket. She said fajitas. It didn't disappoint. Plenty of meat... Plenty of everything. I really enjoyed myself.

Bella Sera of Kerrville, Inc. was founded by an owner who trained under a renowned pizza chef for nine years, bringing the delicious pizza he mastered to town. The restaurant offers customized meals made from the finest ingredients, with options ranging from classic margherita pizza to ribeye cacciatore and cannelloni. While it is known for its tasty pizzas, Bella Sera also provides a variety of eclectic dishes.
Food tasted homemade. Calamari was fresh and Shrimp Florentine was delicious. The cheesy bread/rolls we had at the beginning were also very tasty. The flavor of the fragoli soup was good but I wish that it had a little more pasta.

The staff was phenomenal. The service was prompt. The staff was helpful, very friendly, and respectful, which makes us so glad to be back in Texas! The food was somewhat ordinary, and not a lot of strong flavors were almost kind of bland but enjoyable. we would eat here again.
David H — Google review
I would visit Kerrville again just to eat here. My wife ordered the Italian trio, I ordered the cheese ravioli and the Bella Sera stromboli. For the appetizer we ordered the fried ravioli and the mozzarella caprese which was perfect because it was cold and fresh. To drink my wife had a glass of sweet red wine and I had a few Italian beers. 10 out of 10, everything we ordered was amazing. When food is cooked with love it nourishes your body and your soul. This was one of those occasions and I could feel it. Thank you so much for giving us somewhere to relax, eat, and recharge.

Well executed, straight-forward, classic New York Style pizza... We ordered a large cheese pizza for pick-up. The order was ready on time, the restaurant immaculate, and the team member upfront friendly. The dough was baked perfectly allowing for that classic NY style fold. The mozzarella was salty and the sauce sweet. I do prefer a bit of spice in my sauce, but Bella's was a nice change. Recommend... cheers!

I had an amazing experience at this Italian restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious — everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. From the pasta to the dessert, you can tell they really care about quality. Our waitress, Mayra, was outstanding — friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. She made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Italian food and great service!

Angela was a great waitress. She was very helpful making recommendations to compliment our meal. We had rib-eye steak and seafood pasta. We love the clam sauce. We also enjoyed wine and Tiramisu. We didn't care for the mimosa that had a sour orange flavor. Angela's friendliness redeemed any negative comment.

Nestled along the picturesque banks of the Guadalupe River, Thai Ocha offers a delightful escape into traditional Thai cuisine. With its warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with a cozy stone fireplace and a charming riverside patio, this eatery is perfect for those looking to savor authentic dishes in a relaxed setting. The menu boasts an array of flavorful options like stir-fries, curries, and soups crafted from fresh vegetables and aromatic herbs.
I had a difficult time finding a place that serves gluten-free food. However, they said they could do it and they definitely over delivered on that. Ordered the gluten-free pad Thai chicken and the flavor was amazing. Also, I did not get sick and I am celiac. So they were able to cook it right and keep it gluten-free. The service was excellent, and the pricing was just right. Although I don’t know when I will be back in this area, it is definitely the number one recommendation for restaurant I would give.
James C — Google review
While house sitting for family, we had a taste for Thai. Thai Ocha was a delicious find! We opted for take away, and ordered cashew chicken, sesame chicken and pork egg rolls. The chicken dishes were seasoned to perfection, and the requested spice levels were spot on. I don't usually have much to say about an egg roll, but Ocha's was delicious. Fried perfectly with hints of ginger and lemon grass, the struggle not to eat the whole order was real. The pick-up was easy, and the team friendly. Though we didn't dine in, I feel confident saying the dining area looked quaint, and the view of the river lovely. I highly recommend... cheers!

Favorite Dish: Chicken with Peanut Sauce. Make sure to order the heat/spicy level you want otherwise it’s will be mild by default. I also like the curry dishes here… all of them! It can get busy here especially at lunch but generally I’ve had good customer service experiences and no problems with the kitchen.

Yummy peanut sauce! The cashew chicken was tasty - not overly breaded and an excellent darker sauce. Nothing was very spicy. Hot tea arrived with an entire pot. The homemade coconut ice cream for dessert was light - order with sticky rice and toasted cashews for extra yumminess. Only drawback is dated atmosphere. Outdoor patio area looked nice with a water view.

This place has amazing food! I am definitely an avid Chinese foodie (I have had a lot of different Chinese food from different cities), and hands down one of the best places I have had Chinese food from! Decided to give this place a try for lunch and was pleasantly surprised with the prices on the lunch specials and the fact that you get soup and egg roll/rangoon of your choice. The two dishes that I tried were the Cashew chicken and kung pao chicken. Both dishes had fresh ingredients, prepared well and had a good taste. I did find a big problem with both dishes and that is there was no difference between them, except for red chilies and peanuts in the Kung pao. If you order two different dishes, then they should be different in ingredients, and not just by the name! Egg rolls were a little greasy, although overall good for frozen. The wonton soup was very good, however the fried rice was pretty bland and tasted like it is frozen (heat and eat), from a foodservice company. This place in my opinion gets high reviews because old people and Bubba don't know the differences! Overall considering the other choices in Kerrville for "Chinese" food, this would be the best one in my opinion, until Panda Express 🐼 opens in the near future hooray!

We had a lovely time for lunch dining at the sushi bar. The service was excellent, and everyone was very accommodating. The atmosphere was very pleasant and it was not too noisy. The food was phenomenal, the sushi was very fresh and it’s always fun to see it prepared right before your eyes. We particularly enjoyed the Wagyu sliders and the Ama Ebi. The restroom was clean and well stocked. They also have a nice tradition of handing out thin mints with the check, such touches are very nice and deserve recognition. Considering the food we ordered and the quality we were pleased with the price, the value is there. Do visit this spot if you’re a sushi hound!

While the food was delicious & out waiter was on point, there must have been a very well-known regular customer sitting in the booth behind us. The entire time we tried to eat multiple wait staff came over to that booth & shared their life stories. 30+minutes of this. My husband & I couldn't even talk to each other because of all the laughing & loud voices. I'll not be coming back here if I can't enjoy a meal.

Went here for the first time today and horrible. You would expect the otoro to be fresh and not grey for the price they’re charging. The waitress had to come back to my table twice to get my order because the first time she got it completely wrong. The price for the wagyu nigiri is way out of pocket and unheard of. The wasabi had a grey tinge to it. Overall bad experience not worth the price and def never coming back.

Save Inn Restaurant is a popular spot among locals, serving delicious breakfast options every day of the week. Their steak and eggs dish features a six-ounce ribeye steak with eggs prepared in your preferred style, accompanied by hash browns or grits and toast or a biscuit. The restaurant also offers delectable eggs Benedict, consisting of poached eggs and ham on an English muffin. Visitors praise the fluffy pancakes that stay warm throughout the meal and commend the prompt service from friendly servers.
Great food. Excellent prices. Debbie was so polite and attentive. Hours are from 7 to 2 daily. Breakfast is served all day.

Overall this was a mixed experience. Omlette was filled nicely, but too much oil on the grill for ensuring there was not a chance for sticking. The cheese on the Omlette (not inside) was a torn up slice of American cheese. Salsa and Pico were great, and made fresh in house. The hash browns were appropriately crispy as I ordered and the Biscuit! Oh my, my, my. Next time (there will be a next time) will be biscuits and gravy. I already made sure that I could get extra, on the plate of biscuits and gravy. My table was freshly and completely cleaned. No crumbs, no oil, it was great. A relaxed country diner vibe. Friendly staff, quick service, fair price. More than worth checking out a second time.

Amazing and locally owned. Service is always perfect and great. Food is hot and delicious. High quality and reasonably priced. The fried okra is sooooo good. I go in about once or twice a month and Kristin is typically our waitress. She is so sweet and I have never ever had a negative experience with her taking care of us. Of course, all staff at Save Inn are amazing, but we have had Kristin more times than not and she feels more like a gal pal than a server. Love this atmosphere that makes it so much more family style.

Decent hearty breakfast, but nothing exceptional. I had the veggie omelette, and the veggies were tasty but not abundant. And the cheese was melted in two squares on top. Our server was excellent, though

This is my favorite place to bring my grandkids for breakfast and lunch. The staff treats me and the kids like their own family. My grandkids are picky eaters, but never at your place. Thank you for going out of your way to make us all feel at home.❤️

Back to Save Inn again, 6/20/25, and again just the best place for Breakfast and lunch, for that matter, in this region. I had the "Sinker" omelet which has everything in it and a nice piece of wonderfully plain American cheese on top of it. Some complain that it has no cheese inside the omelet. Frankly, that would cover the taste of the meats and veggies contained therein. It is a great omelet; makes me drool thinking about it, lol. The hash browns were perfectly cooked and hot, as was the toast accompanying it all. The two waitresses are fast, friendly and right there with the coffee, great coffee, when needed. My meal was served by the owner for a nice touch. Nice gentleman. Maybe I am just being nostalgic, but this place warms my heart because I am a USAF retiree and many veterans and their families frequent this place. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it is not the prettiest place, but it is all I need. Thanks Save Inn, don't change a thing.

Rita's Famous Tacos came highly recommended by a friend during a weekend trip. It surpassed expectations with its excellent food and friendly, helpful staff. The restaurant offers a wide variety of breakfast tacos made with hand-rolled tortillas, expertly prepared by an elderly lady in the back. This place is worth making a stop for if you're in the area.
I have lived in Kerrville for 20 years and I love this place. It is perfect. Order corn tortillas. Bean and egg combo is always a winner. Their bacon is the best. (I usually get the Mexican Rita.)
Marcus G — Google review
Very good and large portions! I have been trying to find the best tacos in Kerrville and the one that some people said wasn't good, turned out to be the best one to me! Great quality, taste, portions and preparation. Authentic except for one type of taco and that's the carne guisada. It was more like a brisket taco and had no guisada (gravy). The Picadillo, beef fajita, bean and cheese and potato egg and cheese are my favorites 😋 My review is based upon multiple visits and after trying Mary's a few times as a comparison because of the local stories. Final opinions are that Rita's has the most authentic tacos overall, taste the best and has far better service than many restaurants of any type in town! Prices are on point for the generous portions and much better quality than any other tacos I have tried, from Ingram to Comfort and that's many. I'm hungry just by doing this review!

Awesome tacos!! Flavor from the first bite to the last. The salsa is great to add to any meal here. The food is made from fresh ingredients, so very tasty. Check them out , you will be glad you did.

I ordered the Tommy Boy breakfast taco with brisket, bacon, eggs and cheese. The flavor was amazing! The tortillas were homemade and my tacos were fresh and hot. Literally the best breakfast taco I’ve ever had! So good! This is our new breakfast spot when we are visiting Kerrville!

Had to shelter there during another storm after the flooding. Decided to have breakfast. Chorizo and potato tacos with green sauce were fantastic. Coffee was fresh and hot. Great place to sit and watch the rain. Parking is on the street, so you may need to walk a bit, but it's worth it.
Rob J — Google review
This will be our go to for breakfast when we come to Kerrville! The Tommy Boy tacos with brisket and bacon was great. We also had the Hill Boy and the BBB Taco, all amazingly good. Fresh tortillas make the tacos even better. Give them a try when you’re looking for great breakfast tacos!
Bob N — Google review
I was recommended this place by a friend when we went on a weekend trip. It did not disappoint! Even though there are other restaurants that we wanted to try and we came back on our second day because it was all good. The staff was friendly and helpful and tables are clean. they offer a large selection of all kinds of breakfast tacos. The tortillas are hand-rolled you can see an old lady in the back rolling them with a rolling pin. If your in the area, it's worth a stop!
Hungry S — Google review
Disappointing experience. Order was picked up 30 minutes before closing. My tacos sat getting cold while the worker was oblivious to everything except their closing tasks. Served a guy that came in after me before me. Food: I don't understand. Ordered a Ty with no beans; I got a Ty with no beans with a bunch of huge crunchy red & green bell peppers... No, bell peppers are not supposed to be in this taco. My other taco: Chop Shop had a whole bunch of jalapenos! No, jalapenos are not supposed to be in this taco. They were chopped nicely and the name is "chop shop," maybe the cook has a different recipe than what's on the menu. If you have food sensitivities or restrictions, you may want to verify the contents of your taco when you order. Hubby says the brisket was flavorless, but the fajitas were really good. Mine were tasty, but they just weren't what I ordered.

Yes, yes, and yes. Chicken salad sammie on six-grain bread...all the necessary stuff (like cranberries and walnuts) and things you (and I) didn’t know we needed. Like fresh spinach and red onion. Toasted bread. Then there’s the side dish (to the sammie!) of brussel sprouts. Well sautéed and honey drizzled over them... My, my, my... Berrylicious smoothie was also rocking. Will be back.

The food was great can't complain but the owner need to be a little more helpful with the menu and at least be professional and kind to the new customers I felt rushed by her like she didn't want me there they were about to close and I wanted to just ask about the menu and didn't know what to get it was my first time well anyways other than that the food was delicious.

DEAD O — Google review
I’m sad this place has gone so down hill. I have gone here half of my life. I kept debating whether to go here this morning, because last time wasn’t a good experience but I decided to. I should have listened to my instincts originally but I swear they have the best barbacoa in town. Once again this place was a miss and I won’t be coming back😔 Unfortunately the tacos are even smaller than they have ever been. They’ve always had skinny tacos but they are really REALLY skimping people now. I ordered a barbacoa taco and a bacon egg & cheese taco. Both tortillas were burnt in some spots to where it over powered the flavors of the tacos. It over powered the barbacoa and there was MAYBE A half a piece of bacon in my bacon egg & cheese taco. All I could taste was burnt tortilla, egg and cheese. No bacon flavor. NOT EVEN A CRUNCH FROM THE BACON. 😔 They have an egg surcharge, which hey, that’s fine when egg prices are up. If you gotta raise the prices a little to make ends meet, I get it. But if two tacos that I spent $9.45 on put together are the size of other competitors 1 taco and your prices are higher…. I think it might be time to close the doors or do some hard thinking. Which really makes me sad because this place was always a small town treasure. My mother loved this place before she past away. It’s a no for me. I’ll be going to Mary’s from now on.

Nestled in the bustling heart of Downtown, Jimmy John's is a go-to counter-serve chain renowned for its mouthwatering sub and club sandwiches, complemented by their signature potato chips. With an emphasis on quality, they use all-natural meats and bake their bread fresh daily, making it an ideal spot for a quick yet satisfying lunch or dinner. One enthusiastic customer shared how during her pregnancy cravings hit hard, and nothing else could satisfy her like a sandwich from Jimmy John's.
So to start out you need to know, I’m pregnant right now so I have been feeling absolutely nauseous just at the smell of certain foods and anyone who’s been pregnant knows the cravings are no joke. Today I couldn’t seem to stomach anything except for a sandwich, as soon as I thought of Jimmy John’s that’s all I wanted. I don’t make the rules haha. Well, I wasn’t feeling up to going anywhere and money is kinda tight right now…so I shouldn’t have even thought it was an option to spend 20$ on a sandwich be delivered to me. But…impulsively I had it delivered. I just felt really bad because I couldn’t tip more than I did, and I felt really bad. So I called and explained the situation just because the guilt for not tipping more because I literally could not and I know everyone could use a good tip right now in this economy…I had to apologize in advance. Well when the food arrived, the sweet girl (I can’t remember her name😭) told me they didn’t charge me for the food. Which brought me to tears…It was the nicest thing that’s ever happened to me. And specially to the manager I spoke with….I can’t remember your name either…but thank you. Genuinely. You are truly a good person. God bless yall.

Thank you!

I mean... it's a sammich. Hard to mess up, and they rarely do. That said, the employees here either stare at customers like they have no idea what they're looking at, or studiously look away like they had no idea what the teacher was talking about and are praying they're not called on next. It's weird.

It's really fast and delicious . Jimmy John's is one of my favorite sandwich shops. I like the #17, the ultimate porker , I add cheese and peppers . I get a whole pickle quartered some jalapeño chips and a fresh unsweetened tea. The ice is very chewable. The best ice in town. My son is a picky eater, so I get him a slim 1, ham and cheese, and French bread. The bread is delicious. The restaurant is clean and the workers are cool and quick.

Their menu features fan favorites like the Stuffed Crazy Crust Pepperoni pizza and the Crazy Puffs paired with their iconic Crazy Sauce—both of which are hot, fresh, and incredibly satisfying.

First time going here. Ordered extra cheese on pizza, Italian sausage on all pizza, and pepperoni on 1/2. They put pepperoni on all the pizza and there definitely not extra cheese. They re-made it correctly this time however there was hardly any cheese on the pizza and the Italian sausage was almost as black as the crust. The people you have working there are more interested in talking and joking around with each other in the kitchen than paying attention to the customer and their needs. Absolutely 100% will NEVER step foot in what they call a pizza parlor.
Shannon R — Google review
Today was one of the worse experience we have ever had. My son is autistic and the lady told him he was slow and needed to hurry up getting the food from the hot box as she was still putting it in. I called and spoke with the manager and he was VERY respectful and upset how his employer talked to him. It's not ok to be rude to someone you never know what they r dealing with.

Love this location. The staff is always friendly, nice and helpful. Pizzas are fresh. Location is good, close to the river and right off of main street. They usually are busy and sometimes it takes a little longer but it's okay with me as it's kerrvilles only location. Thos location does have benches to eat at inside as well as a little bar type. They also have paper plates if you need them, just ask for them.
Charlene H — Google review
Just isn't the same, got workers that play loud music, don't seem like they want to be working there, and are just messing around. Been coming here since I was a kid and the wait times have increased like crazy, ordered on the app, as I usually do, and said my order was to be ready between 0745 and 0755, got here at 0800 and still not ready, and as I'm writing this review one of the cashiers starts mouthing off and calling the customers lazy and cussing outloud in front of multiple others. Plus the workers in the back begin being loud and joking when they are 4 order behind. Unbelievable how some people have no shame or pride in their work anymore.
Angel B — Google review
I usually pickup alot of doordash and sometimes favor pizza orders from Little Cesar. The staff is usually friendly and the orders are out promptly.
Camille F — Google review
For the price, it's the best pizza you can get. Good, quick, and cheap.
Derek M — Google review
I’m giving them 4 stars because i want them to stay in the somewhat barren Kerrville pizza landscape. (I’m heavily biased; I grew up literally over a New York City pizza parlor.) The service is spotty and the wait is sometimes 10 minutes and other times 35. But the deep deep dish pizza is awesome, except when part of it is served upside down. (See photo.) Given the options, I value Little Caesar’s and hope they can make a few small tweaks here and there to improve service. [UPDATE 9/2/2021: consistency and timeliness has gotten a lot better since I last wrote. I’m glad they are still around, especially after Covid, because their pizza in terms of fast food pizza is the best around in my opinion.]

Oh my goodness, what an unexpected gem to find while on vacation in Kerrville. The atmosphere was stunning, the service was exceptional, and the food... there aren't enough incredible words to describe the poetry of all the flavors. From the moment we walked in we knew this was someplace special. Our server, Belle, was friendly, helpful, and fun, but best of all meeting Chef Luis and hearing his heart, passion, and dream made it extra special. We celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary there while visiting the Hill Country and will be back next time we're in town. Well done to the entire team for an incredible experience.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday here. Casey Jones was our server and couldn’t have been more perfect. In fact, everything about this place is exceptional. We started with the delicious grilled Brussels Sprouts and a nice red wine. Then had the smoked pimento burger and the fish tacos. Both were beautifully plated and delicious. To finish things off we ordered the Apple empanadas and they served my husband their bread pudding for his birthday. We will be back. Again and again.

First of all the service was exceptional, right away we were greeted with a hello and welcome. The server was super knowledgeable as he walked us through the taps and brews on hand. We loved the atmosphere and the samples made it easy to choose which brews needed to come home with us! We will definitely be back! Thank you for such a great experience!! 👍🏻

Double bottle release day! Glad I got some (2022). 2025, Still a great place to hang out and meet 'locals' + the beers produced here are worth stopping by!

Nice little craft brewery. They had smiles on their faces and a live band

Not sure why this place has some of the good reviews it does. We visited Saturday afternoon, and the server was very unfriendly and acted like we were really inconveniencing him. But he was very friendly to the few other people that he apparently knew at the bar. We were very nice and we left. My husband told him thank you very much and the guy totally ignored him and didn’t say anything. Definitely will never try this place again and do not recommend it. The server reminded me of a sullen brat

Trailhead Beer Garden is a perfect spot to unwind after hiking the Kerrville River Trail, conveniently located at the trail's end. The garden offers live music on weekends, providing a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy some well-deserved rest. While it may be slightly challenging to locate, ample parking is available. The airy main building features abundant natural light and a central wood-burning stove for chilly evenings.
The food is actually from Vecinos, a food trailer, and is quite good. Trailhead Beer Garden, to my surprise, is on the campus of Schriner University. The beer is from various breweries, with a good selection from stouts to pilsners. The service was great. They have lots of outside seating and corn hole. I don't know their entertainment schedule, but we are here on a Friday night, and they have entertainment. Great place to relax with a good brew or wine.

Although it’s a bit hard to find — and I know my way around Kerrville a bit; and Schreiner students will certainly know it better — it’s well worth the effort. Parking is plentiful. The main building itself is very airy, with light on three sides and a wood-burning stove in the middle, like for those cold nights in February that we had. I had a delicious 16oz kombucha for $7, which I still thought was a bit steep. The only food is small bags of chips for now, so make sure you eat beforehand. Out front are tables and cornhole games. To the side are picnic tables and a music venue. Beyond the building is a sand volleyball court. It was fairly quiet when I visited today, Sunday, but I could see how this place would definitely rock. What a fantastic addition to the Kerrville scene.

Awesome spot for local beer and good music. Also a great place to play some pickleball

The food truck was incredible!! The beer list and non-alcoholic beer was a good variety. The whole place is super cute, with corn hole and a pickle ball court. Lots of outdoor seating and bistro lighting.

Was staying in town overnight and stopped by after learning the breweries nearby close at 9 pm on Saturday night. 😮 I got there an hour before their closing time of 11 pm. I didn't know it's on a college campus, and that made navigation a little tricky, but no biggie. It's a rustic place with a nice outdoor seating area and some indoor seating, too. Good selection of Texas beers. I got one from a Kerrville brewery, Pint and Plow, that unfortunately was closed already. It was a saison and very enjoyable. Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to visit them in the future. I recommend this place to hang out and sip on some brews. You'll have no trouble finding a beer that suits you. Very good--and interesting, not mainstream-- music on the sound system, too.

GREAT little spot to pass a quiet afternoon with a cold beer or two. No food BUT theres usually a food truck out in the lot dishing up great burgers! The building is early 1900s and mostly original. Wood floors, open windows, no screens, na A/C but pleasant even when 90+ outside! Proof that people survived millenia without A/C. Slow down, pull up a chair, and enjoy a cold beer in a grear setting!

We had our high school reunion here! Absolutely beautiful atmosphere, big open space, and plenty of games and to do. Non-alcoholic options and extensive drink menu! Such a cool place to relax in nature and socialize!

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is a popular American restaurant chain known for its cozy atmosphere and delicious comfort food at great prices. What sets it apart is the on-site general store where visitors can shop for various items. The menu offers a wide range of breakfast options, including the classic Sunrise Sampler with eggs, grits, bacon, sausage, ham, fried apples, and hashbrown casserole. Customers have praised the friendly service and tasty new dishes on the menu.
Tried something new today. It's the Shepherd's Pie with a cheesy crust. Big chunks of meat. A scoop of mashed potatoes in the middle. Plenty of food. I couldn't finish it since I also tried the onion petals, but it would still be very filling. The dipping sauce for the onion petals was very good with a little heat.

First of all, the hostess was not friendly so already off to a bad start. Our waitress was really sweet and attentive to what we needed so the food wait was where the issue was. To be completely transparent- we are a group of 7 (we are a traveling sports team so we go out to eat often and we have never had a service this unusual) They started bringing food out at 7:40pm and brought out the last plate at 8:10. Keep in mind we are a school sports team so we don’t get anything expensive, around 15 bucks worth of food each so the 30 minute difference was crazy. The, I’m guessing manager, was very apologetic about the situation and even covered two plates in the end so that was nice. Side note- this “country style cooking restaurant” was completely out of mashed potatoes 😥 Taste wise, everything was great when it eventually came out.

Great place to stop in and get a good meal. It is set up like all cracker barrels. We were seated quickly. Our orders were taken and the food came out pretty fast. The food did not disappoint. It was delicious. The establishment was clean. Lots of curiosities to browse after the meal.

Horrific!! This is a true story of my experience at Cracker Barrel in Kerrville on 9/ 1/2025. It's a bit of a long read but worth it. It's really no wonder why this franchise is doing so badly if this location is a representation of the other locations. We were a party of 5, we were seated next to the kitchen even though the restaurant was nearly empty. We placed our order, 3 fried chicken plates, 1 burger, 1 chix sandwich. Appetizers came out, all is good. 20-25 minutes later we were told they don't sell chicken on Mondays. What? So we reluctantly placed a new order, we asked that they not fire the burger or chix sandwich so everyone's order came out together. 15 minutes later, no lie, we were told they had no chicken soup, this was the alternate order for 2 of us who had ordered the fried chicken. Flabbergasted, we asked for a house salad. 15 minutes later, no lie, the salads, chix sandwich and 4th plate were brought out. No burger, the waiter disappeared, we did not eat because we all wanted to eat together as we requested. 15 minutes later, no lie, the waiter came out and informed us they had dropped the burger on the floor. No lie AND.. would we like them to fire a new burger. So almost 2 hours into the visit, noone has eaten, 4 meals still uneaten on the table, no chicken, no soup, burger on the floor, I asked for the check, we were going across the street to Sonic. The waiter literally ran away from the table and never returned again... 15 minutes later, no lie, the manager came to our table and pretended not to know anything about our ordeal but already had all the answers to why our experience was so poor. While all of this was going on we noticed several sets of customers who had been seated, got up and left at some point in thier visit, we suspect because of the lack of items available on the menu just like what we experienced. They didn't charge us for anything, blamed the experience on the following.. covid, lack of staff. Holiday, and the waiter . The manager threw the waiter under the bus 100%, she blamed him for everything. Now that's poor leadership, a real leader takes full responsibility and never sacrifices a team member. Absolutely disgusting, no wonder why this location has so many problems. We visited the memorial before coming here, we went to the Holy Cross, and down to the Guadalupe to pay our respects. We wanted to visit local businesses and spend money to help in our own small way. This Cracker Barrel establishment is a disgrace to the community, this was the first time we have ever visited a Cracker Barrel, if this is the first impression that tourists have of Kerrville its a shame, a damn shame. I honestly don't think we will ever visit a Cracker Barrel again. This was probably the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. Curious to see how they respond to this.
Gregg J — Google review
The front door will take you through the store first but then you can be seated in the restaurant. This led to distracted kids which is okay. It took a while to get food ordered and then it felt like a long time to get served. The campfire latte i ordered had some tasty foam on top and then tasted like a regual coffee until i got to the bottom where there was a ton of mocha syrup not mixed it and really killed the vibe. The drink was decoratively covered in super sticky marshmallow like goo which got all over the cramped table. The food mostly came out ok but what was a real disappointment was the loaded baked potato. Our son with some challeneges was served this potato. The waiter apologized that it didnt have any toppings on it but provided them on the side. So meal time was spent helping him make the potato, which sounds like a minor thing but really stops us from just taking a break and enjoying a break from the road while we rest, recoup, and eat.
Michael L — Google review
Walking in and noticed it wasn't very busy, so not sure why we waited for several minutes before anyone showed to greet us or show us to our seats. Once seated our server arrived quickly and took our drink order, returning quickly with our drinks. So I ordered the country boy breakfast, and the Cole slaw and pinto beans for the sides. The server then returns and tells me those sides aren't available. As I question why, she turns and walks away. Returns with the same dirty menu and with I'm assuming a manager (Stephanie), who informs me that the sides aren't part of the sides with that meal. I open the menu and the manager (?) explains the sides are different with the breakfast menu, so I ask for that menu. The manager returns with the menu, so I tell her whatever two sides are fine. She leaves, no apology, no anything, the then the server returns after another 10 minutes or so asking if I've decided on the sides. I tell her I already told the manager whichever two are fine, and the server walks away without saying anything. The manager then returns and says she wants to make sure I get the sides I want, to which I reply I already ordered the ones I wanted which you said weren't available, so any two sides are fine. After another response in kind from the manager, I tell her just cancel the order, we will go elsewhere. Worst experience ever! I would rate zero if allowed

This was hands down the best romantic dining experience in TX . The view was absolutely stunning and made for the perfect atmosphere. The service was excellent—attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome. I was so sad to hear the restaurant had to close due to flooding, but I cannot wait for it to reopen. It’s truly one of a kind and worth the wait!

Overall everything was amazing except the risotto. Not a fan of it, it was really bland but the whiskey cake made me forget all about it. Views are super nice definitely very romantic. Took awhile for the food to arrive but worth the wait. Only thing I wish is that they would have a full bar instead of just the beer and wine. I did think it was weird they asked if we were celebrating anything and I said 3 year anniversary but we didn't get anything for it, so why ask?
Julie M — Google review
A hidden place in Texas. Quite a beautiful spot. The server had mentioned that there is a college /University campus across from the Restaurant. To describe this place or the town that the restaurant is located at … very nice 👍 . 😊 this place is surrounded by a beautiful water view. However, I did noticed that there are a lot of churches.. I counted 12 churches ( might have missed many more) No offense to churches, I thought they were pretty 🤩 neat to look at.. I also heard that it was a place of Bible school? 🏫 Other than that, it was quite a nice day to stop to rest for a bit and try out their food 🥘 yes, 🙌 it was good. 😊

Trevor is an amazing waiter, very personable & professional! The filet mignon was cooked to absolute perfection, talk about melt in your mouth!! The calamari was crispy, not chewy at all!! The crab cakes were so-so. Lots of crab meat but not much flavor seasoning-wise. Everything else was very tasty 😋 The sunset view with the river was the icing on the cake!
Saphira Z — Google review
This restaurant was extremely nice with an amazing view. The service was fantastic, and the food was terrific. I had the Mozzarella Burrata, and the antelope. Both were great and I'd highly recommend either.
Sean H — Google review
Jill and I have been to this restaurant twice over 1 year, and we really enjoy it for the excellent service and the beautiful view over the Guadalupe river, especially at sunset (see photo). While I wish this place had a full bar, the wine selection is solid, and the wine and food prices are both very reasonable. The ahi tuna tostadas were flavorful with a piquant wasabi or horseradish cream--not sure the cream is necessary, however. I had the mint/yogurt rack of lamb that was perfectly seasoned and cooked--nicely done. Jill had the antelope that was served like chicken fried steak, which I found too gloppy and strangely bland. Nonetheless, I recommend this restaurant, especially for couples or families wanting a classy but reasonably priced place to dine.

Cowboy Steak House is a must-visit dining spot with an incredible atmosphere and top-notch service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience, making it one of the best service encounters. The cozy and dated decor adds to the charm, complemented by original artwork on display.
The staff was wonderful and made sure we were taken care of constantly. It was the best service we have experienced. Great atmosphere. Their wine list has something for everyone. We had the steamed clams in butter garlic sauce and bacon wrapped scallops for our appetizer. Both were delicious. I had the porterhouse. It was cooked perfectly. My better half had the bison steak. It was delicious as well. Don’t forget to try their deserts as well. For this Iowa couple it was a wonderful experience. We will return the next time we are in the area. We greatly recommend to anyone who wants a great dinner out.

I would have given a five but my steak was so spicy my husband had to eat it. Having said that I want to say how wonderful the staff and owner was. They were delightful. The salad was amazing as was the potato skins. Although I would not consider those appetizers. They are a meal into themselves. Soooo good. The Texas toast was delicious as well. One funny thing that I really enjoyed was the orange slice on the plate. The best orange I have had in a long time. I had some of my husbands steak and it was tender and juicy. We will definitely be back. We were too full to have dessert but it all looked good.

Just incredible! Stopped in for dinner tonight on business and we absolutely made the right decision. It was a 10 minute wait, so we went to the bar and waited, which was an awesome environment, and then we ordered the quail legs and scallops as an appetizer. Both items were small in size but were DELICIOUS! We even ordered another quail legs. I had the ribeye which was cooked perfectly with a baked potato and pecan pie for desert. The staff was incredible and it was a great first experience. I highly recommend.

While staying between Kerrville and Fredericksburg, I saw a great review for Rio Ranch Cafe’s Chicken Fried Steak and decided to try it for breakfast with eggs. The steak lived up to the hype, with excellent breading and tasty gravy. I didn’t sample other menu items, as this was my first—and likely last—visit, being from Seattle. I’d recommend it if you’re closer to Kerrville than Fredericksburg.

This place is a rare treat of the Hill country. They have quite a variety of food categories to include breakfast staples, Mexican, Seafood, sandwiches and more. My family got a little bit of everything so I was able to partake of more things than my El Patron sandwich with Mango Aoioli slaw which was phenomenal. This sandwich was loaded with fixings on the side and they are quite generous with the amount. I challenge anyone to fit them all in the sandwich but good to eat them on the side as well that way the bread doesn't get soggy. The fact they bring it out like that tells me they pay close attention to detail in their cuisine. My parents enjoyed this place so much they dined there three days in a row while visiting. They are really THAT good!

We finally got the chance to experience Bill's Bar-B-Que. Since 1982...the longevity alone let us know it had to be good. And we really enjoyed what we ordered. I had a 1-meat plate (brisket, potato salad, beans) and my husband ordered the brisket sandwich with chips. Service was excellent with people who really made us feel welcome. If you come hungry, you will leave full. Find a spot to park. You won't regret it! The staff was friendly and helpful. They even give out samples! Bonus!!!

I've had BBQ from all over the States. I have a rule if the building looks old and worn down the the food is good. (This has never failed me at any place I eat). I had the 3 meat plate and got ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. The brisket was done perfectly moist and savory. Ribs were literally falling off the bone as you picked them up from the plate. The pulled pork was unbelievably savory. None of which had an overpowering bark, but we're perfect balance between meat and seasoning added. The home made BBQ sause was not to sweet not to spicy but a perfect balance to go between pork and beef. Their buttermilk pie was exceptional. Service was perfect. Love that when you walk in, it is cafeteria style serving. If you stop in Kerrville, know that you will get some damn good BBQ from this family owned establishment.

Great food, great environment, and lovely service! Every employee had a smile on their face and that makes a difference. Even though they were short-staffed, we never had to ask them for anything, they were ON IT. They regularly topped off our coffee, keeping it hot. Also, we didn't get any, but they had a lemon pie in the fridge with the tallest meringue I had ever seen. It looked like something out of a dream! We got the blueberry pancakes (which were made with fresh blueberries), French toast, and huevos rancheros. Delicious. There were no leftovers!

Rustic, historic Cafe on the original HEB location. Looks a little bland, but the food and service was very good. We will come back. We had the fish special with homemade banana pudding.

This is a favorite on our visits to Kerrville... great food, exceptional service, good atmosphere, and great music selection! Had the BLT and the bacon was cooked to perfection, nice and crispy. Let me tell you about the tomatoes...get something with them on/in it...enough said.

Down home cooking, friendly people and laid back atmosphere. Love hearing the national anthem playing through the speakers first thing in the morning. The grits are perfect 😋

We decided we were going to eat local while in town. We popped into this place for breakfast. We were immediately welcomed. You could tell this place was the place where all the locals went as you saw a bunch of regulars shuffle in. I did not want to over do it, so I ordered one blueberry pancake and some sausage. The blueberries were large and bursting with flavor. They did have sugar free syrup as I do not like to eat that much sugar for breakfast. The sausage was small patties, but had a good flavor. I really enjoyed this little spot. The food and service were top notch.

Great little hometown diner. Bacon & eggs, biscuits & gravy, omelets, breakfast burritos. Fast, efficient, friendly service. Food served quickly and to order. Good portions. Decor fitting a Texas Hill Country diner in the original HEB grocery store. A Texas landmark.

Time machine ambiance. Good Omelettes. They make their breakfast salsa in house. Walls have retro marketing from yesteryear. Prices are same or less than big chain restaurants.

Chili's Grill & Bar is a fantastic family-friendly dining destination that serves up a delightful mix of classic Tex-Mex and American cuisine, all within a charming Southwestern-style ambiance. Guests rave about the quick service and attentive staff, with standout servers like Chris and Danya making memorable impressions. Whether you're indulging in sizzling chicken fajitas or crispy fried mozzarella sticks with Nashville Hot sauce, the food arrives hot and fresh, ensuring satisfaction every time.
Had some delicious Chicken fajitas, and Nashville Hot sauce fried mozzarella sticks as an Appetizer. Chris, (bald one, he told us to say that) our Server was one of, if not the best server I have ever had in my travels around USA. Lightning quick, funny, and never let our drinks run out. Give this man a bonus or something 😁. First time at this location and will be returning. Thank y'all!
Justin H — Google review
This Chili’s has a great location with a scenic over look of the river off their back patio. Danya was an excellent server, very attentive and friendly. She had everything we needed on the table within just a few minutes even though the restaurant was at its busiest… three cheers for Danya!

Food is great. But. Today I ordered the Casadilla explosion salad to my work truck in the field via door dash. I called in to explain in detail how allergic I am to avocado and please prepare salad far away from any avocado. The salad does not come with avocado. And I upgraded to salmon for protein. I received a Salman salad with guacamole (which it doesn't even come with) and no Casadilla. I called in and the manager told me to bring it in for proof as alot of people complain to get free food. Also im working in the field for the floods and cannot come in hence the door dash.... so I get no lunch today. And I paid 36 dollars for this special lunch. I was put on hold for 23 minutes and no one came back on the line. I am asking chili's to refund the order I was unable to eat.

seating was quick & service was excellent our bartender was outstanding and did an excellent job making our drinks too perfection. atmosphere was quieter but still full of energy and the food was served relatively fast and hot. While the food itself is nothing to write home about it is more than adequate for a small town Chill's! Keep up the great work!

I had a delightful experience at La Four's Restaurant, a family-owned Cajun eatery. After trying out two other establishments, I was thrilled to discover this gem. The welcoming ambiance immediately caught my attention, and the attentive waitress promptly took our drink orders. Engaging in conversation with her, I sought guidance on the menu options before finalizing my choices. To start off, I opted for the delectable fried alligator as an appetizer.
Overall a nice experience and we will be back. Party of 5 on a weekday. No wait with the seating about half full. Drink orders were taken right away. Five different main dishes were delivered in less than 10 minutes from ordering. Catfish, Fried Shrimp, Shrimp/Grits, Crawfish Enchilada, Alligator was excellent. Fries were standard and the beans were standard with nothing noteworthy about them, but they tasted OK. Hush puppies are nice and have a slight spicy kick to them. Service was friendly, but nobody came to check on our drinks the entire time we were there until after we were done eating when another server had come to pick up our plates. We also had to ask for the bill instead of someone coming to check on us. A little more attention by the serving staff would be helpful. Like several places in the Boerne area, you pay at the register on your way out.

Ordered from LaFour's Seafood via DoorDash, and it was a 5-star experience! The shrimp and grits were creamy and flavorful, with perfectly cooked shrimp. The catfish po' boy sandwich had crispy, tender catfish with a perfect toasted roll. The crab jalapeno appetizer was a perfect balance of spicy and sweet, and the kids' catfish meal was delicious and well-portioned. Everything arrived fresh and hot, even through delivery. Highly recommend LaFour's for a satisfying seafood meal at home! We can't wait to dine in next.

First time eating here since they moved from Kerrville to Boerne. The Red Beans and Sausage were awesome. Perfect spice. The hush puppies are a must.

Crab cakes had no crab only mushy oatmeal texture. Presentation was pretty but no taste. Seafood platter small portions filets beans and fries looked canned and frozen. Good fried shrimp. Gumbo tasted like bean soup with 4 baby shrimp. Family mural nice but blank gray walls sad need of decor. High price for quality and amount of food. Sorry family was hoping for better.

This place was most awesome. The food came quickly and was delicious. The waiter checked on us twice, the waitress checked on us twice and we weren't her table, one manager checked on us twice and the other once. I felt like royalty! This establishment in Kerrville is a must-visit location. The employees are exceptionally amicable and helpful when it comes to suggesting menu options. In general, the service provided here is outstanding. During my lunch visit, I opted for the Galbi short ribs, which were skillfully prepared and bursting with flavor. Additionally, I ordered the fried dumplings that were perfectly cooked and had an appealing crispiness.
This place is a must try when in Kerrville. The staff is very friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. Overall the service was great. I had the Galbi short ribs for lunch and they were well prepared and packed with flavor. I also ordered the fried dumplings and the were crispy and cooked perfectly. I haven’t found a good place for Korean food since I moved to the Hill Country so I’m super glad I gave them a try. I will definitely be back in the future. They are located in the renovated downtown historic district and they have outdoor seating on the sidewalk. Go have lunch or dinner and then enjoy a stroll around the beautiful downtown historic buildings.

Love the stone bowl! Delicious meat with just the right ratio of tasty veggies and rice. This dish is my favorite; it’s served super hot and everything is freshl! We like the cucumber salad, fresh kimchi and also the korean pancake. Service was so friendly, kind and helpful with menu questions. We will be back! Note: Check days/hours!!! The lady who took our order/served us was SO nice & explained what exactly the BiBimBap (Stone Bowl) was (we've never had Korean food before) she was very attentive to us the whole time as well! now onto the food: I ordered BiBimBap with spicy chicken (pictured) & it was DELICIOUS. if you've ever eaten Hot Cheetos the spiciness was about the same as that. it came with shredded carrots, mushrooms, spinach, squash, & zucchini, all in a large, sizzling bowl of rice. I can see why it's a favorite for everyone! & you can choose the meat you'd like: beef, chicken, shrimp, or pork. my husband got beef in his & got it with a fried egg on top, which oozed out onto the hot rice. he loved it! I highly recommend this restaurant 🙂 we'll definitely be back!

Absolutely the best burgers. They are GIANT! Fries and onion rings are crispy and tasty. Our waitress was so sweet and kind enough to stand and talk with us for a bit. Its clean, I enjoy sitting on the dock. The view is the best as well.

Totally lame experience. Second visit ever…last week was visit 1, it was pretty good so I took my friend who was visiting to sit on the deck. Service was pretty bad, no greeting, had to look for an employee for a while to tell us to seat ourselves or not…all tables on deck were dirty. Finally our server came who wasn’t very knowledgeable of the food or drinks. I ordered shrimp cocktail and gumbo. My friend a burger with well done fries and a Paloma. Paloma was terrible, pretty hard to mess that up. No well done fries. My gumbo looked like gravy with 2 shrimp plunked in it. I questioned if she brought me gumbo or etouffee and she said it was gumbo…see photos…she couldn’t even pronounce etouffe so I don’t think she knows the difference. Had to ask for silverware, napkins and ketchup. The ketchup was a giant bottle of cocktail sauce…not ketchup. Totally lame experience and waste of time and money. The deck was nice, which is why we went…everything else 👎

I’ve visited this restaurant several times over the years, and the service has consistently been friendly and quick. Honestly, I keep coming back for the frog legs, they’re always worth it. The rest of the menu has been hit or miss for me, but nothing that’s kept me from returning. As you walk in, the bar area tends to be a local hangout, which gives the place a laid-back, small-town vibe right from the start. The view from the back deck is also a nice bonus, a great way to relax and take a break from the road.

Great place to enjoy a nice night out by the water. The food was ok, but the drinks and the service were great. Hopefully next time, we’ll try some of their other dishes and see how that turns out.

I'm back in the area, but not yet home from my 11 day road trip. I stopped in Kerrville for some fish and gumbo. It was delicious! I ate at the bar, but they also have many tables and servers. Zoey, the bartender, and the regulars made me feel at home! I had the combo seafood platter with fried onion rings, fried fish, fried oysters and fried shrimp. It came with a side salad. I also had a bowl of gumbo, and an iced tea.
David L — Google review
Very welcoming vibe that fits perfectly with the Hill Country setting. The seafood is fresh and the portions are generous without trying too hard. What really stood out was the service, attentive, friendly, and genuinely focused on making sure everything was just right. It’s the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy good food.
Luis M — Google review
Service wasn’t in any hurry. Lots of standing together on phones. Waitress was good considering she had a lot of tables (Australian) Finally got drinks Mix drink sat at bar for about ten min before bringing to table and was out of whip cream for it and pretty much said take it or leave it. Food was ok you could tell there wasn’t an ocean very close. Didn’t have that fresh food vibe for sure.

Francesca at The Boat sets the standard for bar service. From the moment I sat down, she was incredibly attentive, taking the time to learn everyone's names and making the whole bar feel welcoming and special. She never let my drink go empty, and she did the same for everyone around me—consistent, professional, and genuinely friendly. What stood out most was how she balanced efficiency with warmth, reading the room and offering thoughtful suggestions without ever being pushy. If you're looking for a bartender who can make every guest feel noticed while keeping things running smoothly, ask for Francesca. She's the kind of staff that makes you want to stay longer and come back soon. Five stars.

Had the worst experience at this IHOP, the service was terrible, and the food was terrible. The pancakes were burnt waited there an hour and 18 minutes to get served burnt food. The waitress was terrible, didn't care was there for that long, and still served me. Burnt food, we'll never visit this. IHOP again. The waitress was also complaining about the tips that she received throughout the day talking about it with other employees. Can't believe this IHOP is run this way.

Our server was very good, she apologized for our food taking 45 minutes. We could hear workers arguing and blaming. We did notice a few orders being returned wrong, the staff and cooks need to communicate better and not get orders wrong. We use to line IHOP but after today will go elsewhere. We know, good help is very, very hard to find these days. Such a shame when you have a couple really good employees that gave to carry the others.

Yesterday my daughter and I went into Ihop like we do almost every weekend for the past 2 years. We love Ihop. Especially Caitlin shes the best!! 5 out of 5 stars for Caitlin. However yesterday another employee I believe her name was Rhonda? Decided it was a good idea to state "damn kid just shut up" as my kid was laughing in the restaurant. Its crazy that she had the audacity to let this come out of her mouth as if she doesn't come into work smelling like liquor half of the time. Came in for breakfast. Grab the “machacado/egg” really really good. It came in clutch with the green salsa they give you on the squeeze bottle. Real SPICY 🌶️ salsa not like other watered down salsas from other restaurants. My 4 year old daughter grab the all American pancakes with scramble eggs and bacon. Really really goood. I got "New Combo", 2 tacos de chicharron en salsa verde and 2 beef fajita tacos. The beans and rice were not anywhere near what I would expect from a place us considers itself authentic. I've had better frozen enchiladas than this and the chicharron tacos were not good either. The only thing that was amazing was the fajita tacos. The pricing on their online menu is outdated, it was way higher than what I expected. I wouldn't waste my time if you're a foodie with even just average expectations.

This is the best little breakfast spot! They have great lunch, too, and the buffet is always a great option for both. I've been eating here as long as I've been coming to Kerrville. Don't miss out!

Nice restaurant that serves a decent breakfast buffet ($14.99). You get your regular buffet staples such as scrambled eggs (2 types), bacon, sausage patties, ham slices, toast, biscuits, and pancakes. Gravy is the white kind that comes in powdered form. They have a decent selection of fruit. Highlights are the glazed strawberries, cantalope, and honey dew. All cut into bite sized portions. Menudo is very good. Very tender and cut into bite sized pieces. This place caters to the older crowd (bite sized portions), so if you want something full of flavour or grease go somewhere else if you can find such a place. For myself it is fine. A tip: do not get the chocolate milk. It is 2% milk with syrup mixed in. The one I got wasn't even mixed well. Service was excellent, they were prompt and attentive. The place is popular no doubt, when I went there it was a capacity with many people going in and out of the place. You would not go wrong here going for breakfast.

I give you overall a 1 star review. I enjoy the food, the device is good, and the overall atmosphere is what one should expect from a dinner style restaurant. Three over a 1 star is due to you charging me to use my credit card to eat at your establishment. You are making your customers pay for your business expenses. There is A cost of doing business. Today the cost is my business. I'm not paying for your tax write off.

A local eatery but well worth a visit if you're in Kerrville. They have a daily breakfast buffet that switches to lunch buffet at around 10:30. Great salad bar for both. Menu items all good, too. The Branding Iron restaurant in Kerrville, Texas offers a Western-inspired dining experience with a menu featuring steaks, burgers, and a salad bar. The restaurant is known for its frequent lunch buffet and excellent service. Guests can enjoy dishes like biscuits with country sausage gravy for breakfast or indulge in the Prime Rib buffet on Friday evenings, which includes an extensive salad bar and other complementary items like fish, potatoes, and vegetables.
If you’re in the Kerrville area, then you have to eat at the Branding Iron restaurant inside the Y O Ranch Hotel. Friend of mine asked me if I’ve eaten there. We haven’t, so we drove there from Comfort. Walked in and felt like we were in a Colorado resort. The atmosphere was so beautiful, huge Christmas tree, shoulder mounts of large game, and the woodwork is amazing. Buffet style menu. Missed breakfast, so we ate the buffet. Got the salad with my favorite fresh beets on top, chicken fried steak, mash potatoes, and black eyed peas. Food was delicious and the service was great. Our waiter Ezekiel, filled our glasses continually, without asking. I suggest that you try this place out. Give it 5 stars.

Service was excellent, including friendly staff. I enjoyed the smokey tenderness of the 12oz prime rib queen cut with two sides, Cesar salad and sautéed spinach, no potatoes as I limit my carbs. Small complaint, deserts which should be served room temperature like double chocolate and cheese cakes served refrigerator cold. Other cuts of steak are in the $20.00 and up range, but fair price considering price of beef today. I will return.

(Wednesday pasta buffet) The pasta buffet is made up of prepackaged foods, ingredients that could be fresh, instead are canned, and the items that are prepared, cooked, and served are below cheap fast food quality. Salad bar was a terrible mix of wilted mixed greens lettuce, low quality toppings, and a very limited choice of dressings that had no indication of what they were. (not helpful) Dessert choices are a mixture of canned pudding, dressed up, and other partially or fully prepackaged items that they thaw and dress up as well. Speaking to the ambience/ atmosphere of the restaurant and the entire property: "The Addams family at it's best!" Dark, dead animals and decor that is extremely outdated. (Chip and Joanna Gaines need to consult for a makeover!) My final thoughts are that I almost thought I was eating at a hospital cafeteria, based on the lack of originality, blandness, and the repetitive use of certain sauces on multiple foods, pasta, or other. (Gordon Ramsay Help!) Definitely not worth the money!

China Town Chinese Restaurant is a beloved establishment nestled in a strip mall, where culinary delights from both Japanese and Chinese cuisines await. This spot not only excels in traditional Chinese dishes but also boasts an impressive sushi bar. Diners rave about the spicy Kung Pao Shrimp, which packs a flavorful punch that pairs wonderfully with refreshing beverages like Juice Medley or Japanese soda to balance the heat.

We ordered Crab Rangoons, Chicken Lo Mein and Sesame Beef with fried rice, it was all cooked perfectly and had great flavor! We will definitely be going back to dine in so a follow up review will be in the works☺️

We stopped here for lunch. The atmosphere is nice. Our waitress was beyond nice and friendly. We got the special pho that they had on the black board as you walk in. I tried the grilled lemongrass chicken vermicelli. The chicken was really salty. Which I did not like. They give you wontons and sweet and sour sauce as soon as you sit down. That was cool. My husband said the soup was okay. Overall would maybe come back and try something else. We paid I think $36 for our lunch. Ohh we also got 2 spring rolls. They were good.

Friday night 9 pm not 1 patron in the restaurant, Why? Odd, but I have been a customer for 20 years. I noticed mostly Chinese employees which was new to me instead of the locals. Well the menu was all new and rather nice and like a book. I opened it saw the prices for evening going from $15-$18 which is average in 2025. I told the waiter I knew what I wanted and it was General Tso's and with fried rice, then he asked what kind of soup, I said "hot and sour" out of their 3 choices. Chose water, then asked if he could add vegetables to it. Soup comes, then meal, and it even had a flower in it for nice presentation, but no vegetables but just the average few strings of carrot and a few snap peas and about 8 pieces of chicken the size of a quarter. I was ok until he brought me the bill.....$27! I was floored, being no extra vegetables, no appetizers, a water and a not much of a dinner size of a plate! I looked over the receipt and there it was 3.99 for RICE(which usually goes with the G Tso's) 3.99 for the NOT added vegetables and when I asked the waiter about it he shrugged his shoulders and walked off!! Then as I asked the one that rings the bill up at the register as I spoke about it, he shrugged his shoulders too and never fixed it!! So rude and it was really coming to mind....no wonder no one is in here! This isn't going to fly in our small town, thinking people are stupid with no care to amend or blend with the customers and what might be right or wrong...this is not a gourmet dining place (basic cafeteria tables and flare) and come to think of it, I wasn't even given one of their SMALL egg rolls with the meal. Never going back and spreading the word for all to know of this treatment. BTW China King, since you're reading this....The Soaring Dragon Smokes you!!! Shame to you and how you are running things. Ordered take out tonight based off a $5 coupon we had received from our campgrounds flyer. We ordered 2 egg rolls, Chicken with garlic sauce, and pork fried rice. The place looked clean and what interactions we had were friendly. The wait time was extremely quick. Upon presentation of the coupon the cashier seemed unsure what to do with it. She went and got a manager who said they were no longer honoring those as they were expired and under new ownership. (We literally just received the coupon this week). The food was honestly just okay. Nothing to write home about. The egg rolls were extremely disappointing as they just had zero flavor, and oddly very small, especially for the price per each. We ordered the chicken with garlic sauce EXTRA spicy as it’s supposed to have spice to it (even menu indicates a spicy dish). It had decent flavor but literally zero spice. The pork fried rice was good. I would order that again.

Took my wife there for lunch yesterday, showed up at 12:05, ordered quickly at 12:10. Waited for our food and finally were served at 12:40. 15 minutes to enjoy half our food, and rush my wife back to work. Sorry, I won't be coming back. Why don't decent restaurants understand that people have an hour for lunch.

I went in to pick up an order from inside and the bald, heavyset man was very rude to me wouldn’t let the waitress help me pick up my order because he was busy. I asked her if that was the order I needed, and she went to hand it to me and he told her to put it down and that he would take care of it in a minute. Very, very rude.

I had the early bird special, Seasame Chicken, with the chicken soup and rangoon. Everything was very fresh, hot and good, and served in timely manner! Our server was the perfect balance of attention and letting us eat. Ha I had already had a couple bites before I remembered to take this picture of my seasame chicken.

Broken Stone Pizza Co is a popular pizzeria in Kerrville, offering a wide range of pizza options including vegetarian choices. The restaurant is known for its generous portion sizes, ensuring that customers are satisfied with their meal. Visitors have praised the authentic taste of the pizzas, highlighting the fresh toppings and slow-proofed dough that adds to the flavor. The establishment's use of an Italian 700 pizza oven sets it apart from chain pizzerias, providing a genuine and delicious experience for pizza enthusiasts.
This was a great place to stop for dinner. Playing Christian music was a nice change of pace in this home feeling town. The service was really good and friendly. The pizza was very tasty and I would have given 5 stars but the bottom of the pizza was a little more burnt than the pizza should have been. Probably just a one off and I would definitely try them again.
Jason L — Google review
This little pizzeria was excellent! They were short staffed upon our visit, so we had no waitress but the experience was not effected by that. We ordered two medium pizzas, Pepperoni rolls and mozzarella sticks for our family of 5 and we all left full. The cheese pizza was a little too "exotic" for our youngest. The sauce went on top of the pizza which was a first for us. The carnivore (meat pizza) was delicious!
Haley V — Google review
New to Kerrville 11/19 best pizza so far. Sauce a little too garlicky for me, but sweet not acidic. The pizza cost more than last year before thanks to inflation, but this is REAL pizza. If you only ate chain pizzas you haven't had real pizza. Real pizza is not cooked on a chain convyerbelt 500° "oven" but in an Italian 700° pizza oven with fresh toppings and cheeses Not from a bag, and the hand made dough is slow proofed a full day or two for flavor. I'm saying it's worth the price. Large works special as shown.

OMG!!! So good. Have you ever said that’s the best …. I’ve ever had on my life? This was it. In Kerrville, Texas. The margherita pizza and the pepperoni rolls. Their sauce is so garlicky and tangy. Loved it. We will definitely be back.

Stopped in while visiting in Kerrville. What a fantastic pizza place! Who would have thought of putting Cactus on a pizza? It's delicious! Thanks Jeremy, for making customer service a priority!

Broken Stone is one of my favorite pizza places in Central Texas. Their sauce and dough are very authentic compared to New York pizzas I remember growing up in New York. Their crust had the big bubbles and always has a crisp bottom. The toppings are always fresh and seem to be carefully chosen for high quality. My family and friends always make a stop here on our trips to the area. I didn’t rate the atmosphere since we always get our food for take out or delivery.

El Sombrero De Jalisco is a delightful spot that truly shines when it comes to breakfast. Their breakfast tacos and various plates are perfect for kickstarting your day, but the culinary adventure doesn’t stop there! This vibrant eatery offers an array of authentic Mexican dishes throughout the day, including their tantalizing filete a la diabla, which features seafood in a spicy sauce that’s simply irresistible.
A friend recommended El Sombrero De Jalisco so I went this morning. I was greeted with a smile and was told I could sit anywhere I liked. Within the minute a waitress came over and asked if I wanted some coffee and handed me a menu. I told her this was my first time there and she said take your time. A few minutes later, she returned, and I decided to order the migas plate. It wasn’t very busy and my plate arrived within six minutes. The food was very good and for a change the refried beans were flavorful. The red and green salsa was also very good. The waitress, Coraima, was very kind with a smile and attentive. I will definitely go back again.

We showed up unannounced with 36 people. The manager jumped in to take care of us himself. He worked tirelessly crazy, keeping drinks and food coming. The food was great and enjoyed our time with friends celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

Came in for dinner , hostess guided us to a dirty table cleared the dishes and then didn't even wipe the table down. So we left so we don't even know how the food was and if you don't care about the tables then were not counting on the food being good or service. Cleanliness is important

My first time here. A good friend was coming into town and said to meet him at the Mexican restaurant by HEB. I thought we were just meeting there but when I got there he was inside. The place is bigger than I thought. HEB is my place of food shopping so I pass by there a lot. I also noticed that it always has a full parking lot. I didn't know but my friend is a frequent flyer at this restaurant. He said that he has never had a bad meal there. I had the cheese enchiladas and so did he. They were pretty darn good. Tasted home cooked. Very fresh. I had the small frozen margarita and that sucker went down easy and quick. That's one thing about Mexicans, they know how to cook; and drink. They actually give u a real cocktail!

Mediocre at best. Worst Tex-Mex in Kerrville. Taco, chile relleno and beef enchilada were the worst representatives of their type in town. I have no idea how they won a reader’s choice award. I can easily name 4 other Mexican food restaurants I would rather eat at in town.

I found this place with Google maps. Drove here, they said find your seat, I did. The table was clean of everything. No salt or pepper shakers. No hot sauce. I saw thechilaquiles . It looked more like Nachos than chilaquiles. It stated on the menu that it had red sauce on it. There was no red sauce. The waitress talked over me as I was talking about how bad this was. Anyways a 2 star was all it was worth

Nestled in the heart of Kerrville, the Inn of the Hills Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience that complements its charming hotel atmosphere. While I didn't indulge much in their culinary offerings during my stay, I appreciated their willingness to accommodate my needs with hot water for tea—a perfect remedy for jetlag. The hotel's landscaping is beautifully designed, featuring serene pools and tranquil waterfalls that create a peaceful ambiance ideal for relaxation. The staff at Inn of the Hills are incredibly helpful and friendly, enhancing your overall experience.
Lovely place, food is great. Ask a staff for calendar of what buffet is serving and price. Kid and toddler friendly. Free buffet for under age 6. Easier on Mama and toddler eat since food is ready and variety choice for Toddler. Love the history pictures. Staff are very helpful.

Stayed at the hotel, didnt really eat in the restaurant, but they were kind enough to get me hot water for my jello that i make like tea. (It helps with jetlag and settling my stomache.) I loved walking around the hotel and the quantness they developed within their landscaping. Their pools and waterfalls were so peaceful. I want to build a pool back home like theirs! (Loved it)

We went there for Easter brunch. The buffet was underwhelming and not worth the price. There were just a few sides. They ran out of shrimp within 15 minutes of us arriving. They ran out of dessert by the time we finished our meal. My mother was looking forward to carrot cake. We had to stop at Walmart and pick dessert up on the way home.

We used to take our friends to the Alpine Lodge Restaurant for Sunday brunch when we had a special event. The decor was charming with the German/Swiss cuckoo clocks, the dessert tables had beautifully-displayed and made-from-scratch deliciousness, the made-to-order omelettes were a treat and service was fantastic. Service is still fantastic, but what happened?!?! The entire buffet is a fraction of what they had, obviously doesn't have the same level of chef preparation, and the special ambiance is gone. Unfortunately, the price stayed the same. We took our friend from a nursing home out for what we thought would be a special treat. We were so, so disappointed. Her prime rib was chewy and the desserts were dry. Sad to see the end of an era. We won't be going back.

Sake is a hidden gem in Kerrville, Texas, offering an upscale sushi experience that stands out from typical sushi spots. This beautifully designed restaurant serves a delightful fusion of Japanese and Chinese cuisine with a local twist. Start your meal with warm edamame or refreshing seafood summer rolls before diving into their creative sushi rolls. The service here is commendable—quick and courteous—even during busy weekends when the place fills up.

I actually chose this place to take a couple of friends for dinner based on the ratings I saw on hereto begin with, but sadly, we didn't have the same experience. We got seated and for drinks right away, but the waitress didn't come back forever. We had planned to order an appetizer and just enjoy a visit, but by the time she came back, we were super hungry and running low on time, so we all just ordered dinner. Two of our three dinners came out fairly early. That wasn't a good thing - my fried rice was lukewarm and completely dried out, so it made me thinking it had not been freshly prepared and had probably been sitting out for some time before being served to me. The third person in our group ordered a simple bento box, but it showed up 20 minutes after the rest of us got our food. Of course, we shared ours with her while we waited, so she wasn't really hungry anymore once it arrived. It took forever again to just get the waitress to acknowledge we were finished, bring us boxes, and handle our check. Maybe it was just an off night, but I won't be going back to find out.

What a great sushi/home cooking place in Kerrville TX of all places. The menu is large, which scares me most times, but here was fine. A good sake, wine and beer selection as well. Excellent service - delicious food! Service was speedy and polite! We were here the Saturday AFTER turkey 🦃 day so it wasn’t crowded, no wait. The menu items were abundant and priced reasonably - portions did not fall short. Plaza parking was ample. I have only one complaint, the menu pages were sticky, stuck together, and had food on them. A good wipe down is in order - easy fix! Thanks for the wonderful meal! We’ll be back the next time we travel through Texas!

i used to work here back in 2017 and this place sucks now!!! the service was not good for the prices they charge. it used to be fine dining and nice brunch but now i would be better off at IHOP. i ordered the apple jacks pancakes and they gave me regular old pancakes so i asked them to remove it. My classic breakfast plate was so disappointing. For $19 i got bad eggs, soggy bacon and stale potatoes. when i told the waitress she just removed it and then still charged me for everything, even though i ate nothing!!!! i told i was disappointed and she offered no solutions. I will never be back and never reccomend this place which is so sad cause it used to be very nice and good food.

My spouse and I stayed close to Kerrville-Scheiner Park when we decided to cycle down to Brewdawgz for a late lunch. We both enjoyed a beer from their extensive selection of both draft and bottled brews. We ordered chips, queso, and salsa, but unfortunately, the queso was made with Velveeta cheese and the salsa wasn't anything special. However, the burger and onion rings were exceptional, as was my wife's shrimp and salad.
Very friendly staff! I got the brewdawg burger and it was as classic as it gets. Super satisfying

We have driven by here so many times but never stopped. Recently read a review that the onion rings are the best. That statement is completely true. Hubby had a Plain Jane burger as he likes it-cheese, ketchup, and mustard. I had the cod fish tacos with the house salad with ranch dressing. Both were excellent. Service was great. Definitely coming back.

We received a recommendation to try Brewdawgz from our San Anonio neighbor. The food was excellent - great burgers and the sample chicken gumbo was delightful. Staff was on top of things and friendly. After driving the hour home to San Antonio I discovered I had left my purse at the restaurant. Bebe, the manager, met me in San Antonio after she finished work and delivered my purse to me. That is outstanding customer service. Thank you!

Just order the first burger on the menu and sit back. Get ready for greatness. Fries were just ok, kind of greasy and flimsy. Onion rings were off the chain. Excellent. [update 08/24/2021] Went back tonight. GREAT burgers and excellent, professional and cheery service. The Brew Burger is HUGE! And, for a well-done burger, it was surprisingly juicy. The fries have gotten better — lots better. And the onion rings, while a bit greasy, were excellent. You could bite into one and not have the whole onion come out, you know?
Howard F — Google review
The food was pretty good, however service was very slow. It seemed like there was only one server on a Friday during lunch time, it took around 30 minutes for our first order to come out and the appetizer we ordered well beforehand came out with the rest of the food we had ordered later on. It took around an extra 15 minutes on top of that for the rest of the food to get there, we had no refills on drinks as well as one of the drinks being wrong and brought a while after everyone at the table got theirs. We showed up around 11:40-11:50 and left around 1pm, nobody told us anything about the wait times and had we known we probably would've left. We probably should have left considering there was a huge brown roach on the back of our paper towels, but with the expense of the food we figured it would be better to just eat and leave. Otherwise our server was very nice she just seemed very rushed and spread thin for a busier time of day, just wish it could've been better. Overall not a great experience and probably won't eat here again.

My husband & I moved to Kerrville, April 2025. As of August, we've been here 3 times. Twice I had the Shrimp Po Boy sandwich which is so much better than one I had in Galveston. Third time, invited another couple and I tried the Fish Tacos with shrimp. They raved about their onion rings and free bowl of chicken gumbo on Sundays. Every bite in the basket is so good, this place should be on Triple D. IYKYK. This place is Clean, servers are attentive and nice, didn't wait long for food and not so noisy that conversation with others at table was pleasant.

Signature burger was very dry. The "avacado" on the burger was maybe a tiny teaspoon...barely visible and certainly couldn't taste it. Onions, lettuce, tomato...all skimpy, too ($17 burger). Service inattantive even before it got busy. Beware, jukebox is loud. On a positive note, onion rings were very good. Save your money. Not worth the pricey food and distracted svc.

Denny's is a popular casual dining chain known for serving classic American comfort food, with a focus on all-day breakfast options. The menu features a variety of hearty dishes such as the Lumberjack Slam, All-American Slam, and Fit Slam, as well as gluten-free options like the Double Berry Banana Pancake Breakfast and Salted Caramel & Banana Cream Pancake Breakfast.
We were seated within moments of entering the building which didn't surprise me as it was 1000am on a Monday morning. The waitress was at our table every few minutes to check on us, give us drink refills, and to ask how everything was. She was attentive but not obnoxious. The restaurant was clean and organized well. I think this place could use a remodel though. It looks old. Not dingy or falling apart but it could be brought into 2017. I had to wait a few minutes at the register to pay my bill because they got busy all of a sudden. The maître D seated several folks as I stood there waiting but he did make eye contact with me and apologized for the wait. All in all i would say we had an enjoyable experience.

I think the staff must be having a lot of difficulties of some type here. The atmosphere was bad, two of the female staff had 'words' with each other more than once while we were there right in the dining area in front of all the customers. Our waitress was blunt and unwelcoming, and the food was the worst I have experienced in a Denny's. Eggs undercooked, pancakes cold, hash brown literally sitting in a pool of oil. I am giving 2 stars because I feel that times are hard for staff in restaurants right now, but really they deserve only one star for the food and service on this visit especially as there were so few customers to attend to at that time.
Ensy M — Google review
I had a most unfortunate and extraordinary encounter with a loud, abrasive older female waitress at the Denny's today. When we entered the restaurant that is my wife and i, we waited several minutes to be seated. The waitress again who was an older gray-haired lady heavyset escorted us. I asked her politely for a table. She said, and I quote, I already knew that. My wife and I both felt, it was as if she was saying you're too old and fat to fit in a booth.. regardless, we sat down and waited to be served. After about 5:00 or more minutes of waiting and that waitress watching us. We finally got up to leave. On the way out she asked us why are you leaving and I told her we won't waited on and the comment that she made made us feel like we were old and fat. She started raising her voice and saying that's not what I meant that's not what I meant. Unfortunately it was and I left the restaurant. HOWEVER, that was not the end. She actually came running out of the restaurant and confronted me near my car and started screaming saying that's not what you meant to say and I was rude and actually came towards the car. I consider this a highly threatening action. I had to say stop don't come any closer to my vehicle. She continued to do so until I told her again to stop. she was still ranting on the way back into the restaurant. In my 70 years of life, I have never seen such an action by a waitress. I considered her behavior as threatening. And was close to calling the police. This woman needs to be fired. The behavior is totally unacceptable.

Restaurant was very clean and staff was very friendly; however, they do not have a lot of food as they are not receiving scheduled or complete shipments. Also, although staff present were great, it appeared there were only two waitress and two cooks. Food was prepared well, was tasty, fresh and hot; it was hard to get waitresses attention with amount of people coming for lunch.

In a world full of bad servers and careless cooks this restaurant is a breath of fresh air. Happy, smiling waitress that is actually glad to serve. Food was quick and well prepared. I'm not much on "chain" restaurants but this one feels more like a small local diner!

Very unprofessional. As we park we see 2 people enter the restaurant thinking they were customers but were actually employees, meaning no one was in the restaurant at all. We walk in and our greeted very unprofessional and as if we are walking into a party, not a restaurant. The employees were acting as if they were in their own house, very loud and disrespectful. I could not even stand to wait there another minute so we got our food to go. Very over priced. Felt really uncomfortable with the cook going in and out asking us if our food was to go multiple times. How high were these employees? Really? I will never come here again. Would not recommend bringing kids here or family. Very dirty as well. Get it together dennys, have some respect for people.

Haven't been in awhile. Tasty chick fried steak with everything served deliciously hot with ample portions. Salad was fresh, cold and loaded with veggies - only wished for red onion. Service was great w/ a to go cup extra drink refill as a bonus.

Food was ok, but the service was horrible. We should have left when we had to wait for anyone to acknowledge us, that was a sign. I think we were there almost an hour before our food came out. Meanwhile our drinks watered down. We overheard other waitresses complaining about their tips not being enough. Well I hate to say this but if you don't take care of the customer you're not getting a tip! Our waitress didn't even give us our ticket she took off to go buy cigarettes. To top it off the cash register was down so we had to wait in line to pay. Luckily my husband went next door to get cash and didn't have to stay in line. Anyways we paid our bill and sadly we only had enough for our bill. Yup no tip! Did I mention that we've walked out of this place 2 years ago for the same reason. They're will not be a 3rd time. They need new management and employees with better attitudes!

Carmine's Italian offers a charming ambiance with Italian music playing in the background, creating the perfect setting for a delightful dining experience. The menu features classic pasta dishes, refreshing salads, and fresh pizza pies, including specialty pizzas with unique toppings. A highlight is their giant 28-inch pizzas, renowned for their generous portions and option to add eggplant as a topping. Visitors praise the amazing food and friendly service at Carmine's, making them feel like part of the family.
Awesome place to sit and eat and enjoy!!! The outside temp was 107, ish... Carmine's was cool... Their food and service were AWESOME!! Gaint Pizza X 2 was a tremendous HIT with all the Scouts!!!! Look forward to our next visit.

Not really Italian food place if Italian food isn't offeredfor lunch. We had this tostada with chicken salad on it. It was weird. As for positives, their chips were good and the waitress was friendly.
Mark W — Google review
Took the family there and the food was not something that would make us want to return. The tomato sauce was bland. The oil and garlic spaghetti was really bad. The garlic was raw and did not taste fresh, but like those pre peeled. The cheese pizza was not too bad. Son gave it at 6 out of 10. From the other reviews, it seems like it used to be better.

We took a day trip to Kerrville to come see the Cross and decided to stop at Carmines afterwards. We heard various things about the food, especially the pizza 🍕 so we were curious. I will say off the bat there are some unusual things about it. They serve no wines or liquors, they do have ☕, but no espresso or cappuccinos. I am from New York and these are normally givens at an Italian spot. Also atmosphere wise it was very empty which caught us off guard for a Saturday. Yes, the pizza is as big as they say for an individual slice. Huge and these will fill you up fast. Quality wise the pepperoni, cheese and Marguerite slices were good, but the supreme was dry, uninspired, and over cooked. My wife had the chicken Parm. Hers was overcooked, though it looked good initially. She liked the spaghetti, 🍝 I found it plain with little flavor. Our waiter was quite nice and helpful. We made sure to leave him a good tip. We are not sure we would go back personally, but I am glad we did try it.

Carmine's is a must stop if you are in Kerrville or the surrounding Texas Hill Country. We did the build your own pizza, it was cooked well and had a good amount of toppings. The sauce was excellent, slow cooked in-house, made from scratch, not out of a can. Won't give you heartburn!!! This is a family owned restaurant, their ingredients are sourced from other small businesses and distributors who keep quality in mind. I was happy to support this local business. The owners donated hundreds of meals to first responders and volunteers during the Guadalupe River flooding. They are a true assest to the community.

4/013/22 - we come here quite a bit and feel like part of the family. The food is amazing and I have introduced my family to this great place. If you want great food, amazing service (thank you Reba) and wonderful owners this is the place for you. Had a great Capreze salad, pizza and rolls. Always delicious!! We found this gem by accident and so glad we did. We were the only ones in her on 1/17/19 but it started filling up before we left. The food was amazing. We did pizza which had a great flavor. You can tell they use good italian tomatoes it tasted like my grandfather use to make it. The garlic knots were good as well. My husband had the lasagna and loved it. Between the service and the great music it was an amazing evening. We definitely will be back.

Deep dish margherita pizza was fresh and tasty. My son enjoyed his lasagna. Said it was soft and flavorful. Service was wonderful. Place is very clean.

Before I arrived I took a look at the menu and decided to order a 16” pizza with cheese and another 16” pizza with pepperoni. The cashier told me that the total was $64.00 dollars!! I asked how is it possible that it is $64.00 dlls and she said that the google menu is a scam. The menu is their actual menu. It’s a ridiculous excuse.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, look no further than El Sol de Mexico! This charming eatery serves up an array of homemade dishes that burst with flavor. Diners rave about the enchiladas and the thick, crispy chips paired with zesty salsa. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, enhanced by lively music that sets the perfect backdrop for your meal.
We got the super nachos and the taco salad. Both were absolutely delicious! The atmosphere and the music were very pleasant, and the service was phenomenal. The owner came out to check on us more than once and he even gave us a tamale to try that his wife had just made! If we didn't live 6 hours away, we would be back weekly for sure. This place is a gem.
Shelby S — Google review
This was our first time coming to El Sol and it was an absolute disappointment!! I wanted to try it because of all the good reviews and tasty looking photos but it's a down right joke! Inside is very small and cramped, we had to change tables because the chairs were up against the wall and we couldn't scoot back. Our server was very soft spoken so it was hard to hear him and the chips he gave us were burnt and way too crunchy. I couldn't believe he thought that was acceptable to give us. I wanted to order the taco salad but was afraid the shell would be burnt so my husband and I both ordered the number 13's, which were the street tacos- with beef. The meal came with beans that were soaked in some weird oil and mostly fat- the most horrible beans I've EVER tasted! There is a total of 4 street tacos and I could only eat two because the meat was too hard to chew and everything had no flavor whatsoever. My husband wanted some shredded cheese with his meal and he was given two teaspoons of cheese and they charged us almost $3 for it- RIDICULOUS!! Our meal was way too expensive for not being able to eat it and with everything having zero flavor. We will never come in to this establishment ever again because honestly, there are tons of other Mexican restaurants with authentic food and flavor.
TC G — Google review
Found this gem by mistake. Best mistake ever made. All food prepared freshly. Home made type thick chips. Chili relleno was huge and wife's plate had a puffy taco, tamale, and enchilada. Best tamale ever. This place will blow anywhere else out of the water. Was even given a free Guacamole and management felt took to long to deliver our food. This is a must go back to place.

Had high hopes for this place. Took forever to get food and food was bland. Very simple flavor if any flavor at all.
Larry R — Google review
I had a great time at El Sol de Mexico! The food was amazing homemade, full of flavor, and cooked just right. The enchiladas were my favorite, and the chips and salsa were really good too. Our server was a young woman who was super busy with many tables, but she still gave us great service. She was fun, kind, and a little quirky, which made us smile. Even though she was slammed, she always checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. I’ll definitely come back. Great food and even better service made this a fun experience !
Wanda T — Google review
Came here to try it after hearing how good it was. We were one of two tables. Horrible server- asked for our drinks, tried asking us to purchase margaritas. Walked away without even asking what our daughter wanted to drink. Had to ask for refills on our tea 3 times because the staff were on their phones and watching tv. Had to go ask man at bar for refills. 2 meals, 2 teas 1 water and a queso over $80. Food was not anything we would come back for again. Tortillas falling apart- never seen that happen before. My husband went to pay at 8:40 and they told him they already batched the credit cards so he had to have cash- isn’t it a common courtesy to let your customers know that you are closing down the system EARLY and let them know they need to pay early or have cash???? MIND YOU THEY CLOSED AT 9! Guess what- NO CASH. So glad we had a checkbook. So not worth it!!! I can see paying that for great service and food, but it was awful! Will not be back unfortunately and DO NOT RECOMMEND

You go here for the atmosphere, not the food. Driving from Alabama to Kerrville for 2024 Eclipse. We were really looking forward to some tasty Mexican food. This was not the place to find some. Bland and everything tasted the same. Cheese without wny flavor. Sorry to be this way, just the truth. West of San Antonio, how can you not offer spicy Mexican ? Wife only took three bites and gave up. $42 for this not including tip. We are here for a week, so have a few times to try other places. Maybe Thai tomorrow.

If you're on the hunt for authentic Mexican cuisine, look no further than Taqueria Los Altos De Jalisco. I had the pleasure of dining here twice in just three days, and it was an experience worth repeating! The highlight for me was their Sky Bowl—though it's officially listed as "Cielo..." on the menu. This delightful dish features a medley of grilled shrimp, steak bites, and chicken breast served over a generous helping of queso cheese dip.
We ate here twice in 3 days. The second time was because the food was so great the first time, we had to go back to get it again. I had the Sky Bowl both times. It's not called "sky bowl" on menu; it's called "Cielo......." (I can't remember its name on the menu and can't find it online.) It consists of grilled shrimp, grilled steak bite size pieces, and grilled chicken breast bite size pieces in a bowl with their queso cheese dip on it. It comes with a side of pico de gallo, warm tortilla shells (corn or flour) wrapped in foil, and torilla chips with salsa. This dish is absolutely phenomenal! I highly recommend this place and this dish. The second time I also had a side of rice and refried beans which were fantastic as well.

I've tried this restaurant about 5 times and all 5 times I've been disappointed. My main complaint is that we are in South Central Texas and I don't know of any other Mexican restaurant who microwaves the tortillas. It's disrespectful to the culture. The tortilla is the most important beginning of an authentic Mexican dinner. They also microwave the corn tortillas as well. They don't discriminate. I very seldom give bad reviews. In fact I think this is my second time I've had to leave a bad review. This review is well deserved. If they changed the tortillas I would change my review.
Wayne H — Google review
The atmosphere was average. It wasn't bad. The food was good, although I overheard someone look at their beans and slowly state, "Those are a strange color." Mine were good as was the taco. I recommend this place.
Spiphy W — Google review
Ordered 1 menudo, 2 barbacoa tacos, a burger, and quesadilla. The menudo was not good. The hominy was not cooked long enough and the tripe was not cooked long enough. The broth of the menudo had little flavor. I wanted a Barbacoa burrito that they would not sell me. You should make the customer what they want. The burger and quesadilla was a 4.

If you like unseasoned food and rude management, this is the place for you. Spent $30 on one meal and the meat had no seasoning, the chips were so hard and stale we couldn’t even eat them. We asked for extra tortillas and got 4 total and on top of that they were hard around the edges. I called the owner and I was nice as my dad owns restaurants. The owner was unbelievably rude and not helpful at all. Her exact words were “well the chips were fresh, so I’m not sure what you want me to do about it” DONT GO HERE

Wahoo's Seafood Co. stands out in Kerrville for its delightful blend of a formal dining atmosphere and exceptional service, all while serving up mouthwatering seafood dishes. Diners rave about the Red Fish Jubilee Salad, which tantalizes the taste buds with its sweet and spicy flavors—perfect for a light summer meal. The restaurant is also known for its decadent Red Fish Pontchartrain topped with lump crab and shrimp, making it an unforgettable choice for special occasions like birthdays.
Wonderful gumbo, seafood pasta, and key lime pie. Staff were amazing and it was the biggest meal I've had in a while. Everything is obviously cooked fresh so amazing flavor, but don't come here for a quick meal it took me about 70 minutes total I was in town for a few weeks for work and every time I'd ask the locals where to eat, everybody would tell me that there's only two places to get a good meal. The first is at the HEB and the second is at wahoos. This place came recommended to me easily 30 times, and I finally gave it a shot. Absolutely delicious. Best meal I've had the whole time I was in Kerrville

Wahoo exceeded my expectations, and those swamp fries definitely bring the heat. I travel to Kerrville frequently for business, but this was the first visit. The staff was great and the food was amazing. Only wish they had some better desert options. It's definitely a must visit for those in the area looking for good eats.

Had the new special tonight! Red fish jubilee salad. Words can not express the amazing flavors that set my taste buds dancing! Such a delishous dish. Hope it makes it on the menu. Will totally be back for it again. Great for a light summer dinner. Sweet with a bit of spice! Delishous! Our service was impeccable! Friendly and prompt. Love this place! I grew up in galveston. I know good seafood. And this is it! Gaidos of the hill country! Sorry about the picture. It was so good, I ate it all!

WOW! Just WOW! This was some of the best food, and best service I've had in a long time!!! The fried green tomatoes and the crab cakes were the best I have EVER had! I am from out of town and travel the world for food, and this place is something so special! And to top it off, Gia was the absolute best! So authentic, friendly, beautiful, and obviously loves her job! Thank you for the best lunch experience! <3 Shelley

We went here for my dad's birthday and it did not disappoint!!! I had the red fish pontchartrain and it was honestly a 10/10. The wine sauce was so decadent and there was lump crab and shrimp on top. We had crab-cakes for an appetizer and goodness those were amazing too. We wanted seafood next to where my dad lives so we tried this place out on a whim, not expecting anything special but WOW the staff and food was unbelievable. I have been nonstop talking about this place for almost a week. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This place is amazing! It was recommended by a friend, and it did not disappoint at all. I had the Don, and my wife had the chicken alfredo. Both dishes were amazing. The appetizer was the swamp fries, and they were delicious. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys great food. A must stop and taste place.
