The Palace of Culture in Iasi is a 365-room complex that was constructed between 1906 and 1925 to accommodate government offices. Today, it houses four museums, including the Museum of History of Moldavia. The palace is a significant cultural landmark in Iasi and is surrounded by other historical sites such as the 'Three Hierarchs' Church, National Theatre, Library University 'Foundation of King Ferdinand', 'Al. Cuza', and Royal Church of St. Nicholas.
The Palace of Culture in Iași is an outstanding architectural masterpiece. Beautifully restored, both the building and the surrounding park have been meticulously renovated, preserving their historic charm. For me, it’s a truly amazing and inspiring place.
Blaga A — Google review
It is impresive, if you have the time you need to see it from the inside. To be honeste i think you can visit all 4 museums in 45 minutes, but the tower it was at a specific time when we visited (13:45) so if you want to rush, keep that in mind
Marius G — Google review
Its a palace with art gallery and museum. The building is not very old maybe from 19th century but still architectural important. You need at least 2 hours.Iasi was an important city for Romanian kingdom.I also want to thank to Romanian goverment that the price of tickets is not expensive.Romania is not famous maybe you dont hear about them often but Romanian culture is deep and rich.Everytime when i visit the country i feel at home♥️💛💙
Tigran G — Google review
One of the symbols of Iași, the Palace of Culture has a rich history involving many leaders of Moldavia, but also royalty. It was recently renovated, keeping parts of the old architecture and interior design, but it looks brand new. I recommend coming here both during day and night because the scenery is different. If you want to visit, there are 4 museums inside with different tickets (any ticket will let you see the most famous rooms) and a different ticket for the Clock Tower. I also recommend visiting the garden behind the Palace - it has a fountain with a beautiful view, many restaurants and Palas Mall. There is a parking lot in front of the Palace for 5lei/hour or you can park for the same price inside the Mall.
Ana-Maria A — Google review
What an amazing place! You'll have 4 different museums under one roof. Pro tip: if you want to visit all of them, you should buy the all inclusive ticket. It's the most expensive one (mine cost like 90leu). I bought another one on top of that but that was just a waste of money as I already purchased the entire experience.
Nick G — Google review
The Palace of Culture in Iaşi is one of the most impressive buildings in the city—and indeed, in all of Romania—offering a truly mesmerizing visual spectacle. With its stunning Neo-Gothic architecture, this magnificent structure captivates not only with its grand exterior but also with the rich cultural and artistic experience it offers through its museums. With its spacious square, elegant towers, and intricately detailed facades, the Palace of Culture is a must-see masterpiece for anyone visiting Iaşi.
Cihan E — Google review
Tickets are a bit expensive, but it's a nice place to visit as it's a good opportunity to to learn/remember about some romanian traditions and others. There were plenty of staff members in each room and those in the gallery were constantly stressed that someone-kids especially could touch one of pictures. Wouldn't be easier to hang them out on a level they can't be reached rather than 50 cm from the floor level?

Nestled in the heart of Iasi, Copou Park is a historic public garden that has been enchanting visitors since its inauguration on November 8, 1834. Spanning approximately 10 hectares, this park is not only home to Romania's oldest monument—a striking obelisk—but also boasts a magnificent tree that has stood for over five centuries. Once a favored retreat for the city's elite during the late 17th century, it continues to be a vibrant hub of culture and leisure today.
We visited the park on a day an Arts & Crafts fair was going on and what a treat! The grounds are green and luscious and the flower beds colorful. Parking is around the exterior of the park and paid toilets are available. There are a few food and snacks vendors scattered through the park. We loved it specially on a hot day when escaping the heat under the shade of the trees is a necessity.

Quite underwhelming to be honest, maybe my expectations were set way to high but I was expecting something much more impressive from a place so old and with such great history attached to it. There are plenty of great spots here but it is also quite dirty, badly maintained in some areas and there are way too many crows that. Overall, it's a lackluster experience.
Klaus W — Google review
Copou Park is one of the most delightful spots in Iași, with its wide green spaces, well-maintained landscaping, and spacious walking paths. It features the Lions’ Obelisk, the nearly 500 years old linden tree that inspired Mihai Eminescu’s poetry, a museum dedicated to the poet, and busts of famous writers and poets. It is an ideal place for those who want to spend time in nature and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere for walking.
Cihan E — Google review
Copou Park is a park that maintains a strong connection to Romania's poets, particularly as a symbol associated with poets like Mihai Eminescu. It's a place where you can visit the famous Linden tree (Tei) that Eminescu frequented. Within this park, numerous statues pay homage to our celebrated poets, and you can sit on benches inscribed with their famous poems. It's a serene space that invites reflection on the rich literary heritage of the country.
Stef A — Google review
Beautiful and full of people the park attracts young and old alike. The symbol of the city the tree of Mihai Eminescu stands tall through the centuries before the poet's statue. It is greatly appreciated by small children which play happily on the green grass. I really enjoyed the nice stroll with dear friends and I would have given a 5 star rating if the park was a little cleaner. I recommend you to visit if you are looking for a piece of history and tranquility.

The oldest public garden in Iași and one of the oldest in Romania. Great place for taking a relaxing stroll. Beautiful during every season.

Will always be the attraction point for romantic reminisin or any other activity. Same old enchanting greenery with the 100 year old "Teiul lui Eminescu" still standing strong/though prompted! Symbol of the locals ' wit, hospitality and good nature.

The Vasile Alecsandri National Theater, also known as Teatrul National Vasile Alecsandri, is a cultural gem in Iasi. The theater's construction began in the late 1800s and was designed by renowned architects who also worked on theaters in Vienna, Prague, Berlin, and Budapest. The interior of the theater boasts stunning Rococo and Baroque style decorations that are a sight to behold.
The building makes its presence felt in a magical and inspiring way. Not only from its architecture but also from the baggage of history it holds on its back. As for the plays and concerts that I've experienced here, they are all impecable and very professional. The actors are amazing and I totally recommend to anyone to experience anything in this place.
Andrei O — Google review
Returning to the Vasile Alecsandri Theatre in Iași after twenty years was a deeply nostalgic and unexpectedly moving experience. I have long held fond memories of this institution, and I’m pleased to say the recent visit exceeded my expectations in every way. The performance of 8 Women by Robert Thomas was a pleasure to witness—elegantly staged, emotionally engaging, and executed with clear precision. The professionalism of the cast stood out immediately. Each actress delivered a compelling, distinct performance while maintaining a seamless ensemble dynamic. The depth and nuance they brought to their roles enriched the mystery and heightened the emotional resonance of the story. Equally noteworthy was the scenography. The visual design complemented the narrative beautifully—carefully considered and aesthetically impactful without being overbearing. It contributed to an atmosphere that was immersive and evocative. The renovation of the theatre itself deserves special mention. The historic charm has been preserved, but modern enhancements have clearly improved comfort and acoustics. It is a fitting home for such high-caliber work. I left the theatre inspired, reflective, and dreaming. Sincere thanks to everyone involved in bringing this production to life. It’s reassuring to see that the cultural heart of Iași continues to beat strongly. Highly recommended.

I have had the opportunity to enjoy a magnificent show, Les pêcheurs de perles, in a venue which pictures can't really depict. The performance and orchestra really manage to get you in the story. You should absolutely buy tickets and see any show here, really! One tip I'd have is do NOT buy tickets on the left balcony, rows 19, 20 and 21 on seats 1-2. Same thing for the right balcony. You'll be sitting behind the big light projectors and these will block your view of the show. We were lucky, though, it was possible to move to better seats during the break.
John F — Google review
Magnificent place! I had a chance to enjoy two musicals in Romanian National Opera Iasi. Although the plays were in Romanian and French, I still received a great sense of satisfaction and pleasure. All inner space and ornaments are decorated in real gold. When there is a break between parts of the play, there is a chance to take pictures with vintage dresses and costumes. Prices are acceptable for all kind of budgets. Even if you are short of time or money, you can still visit and explore this beautiful place for just 5 lei during any day (only of rehearsals are not taken place). If you are a history, architecture or theatre lover, I 100% recommend to visit and enjoy the beauty of Romanian National Opera Iasi!

Golia Monastery, located in Iasi, is a 17th-century architectural marvel with a rich history. Initially constructed by Ioan Golia in the 15th century, it was later rebuilt and completed in 1660. The monastery features a church dedicated to the Ascension of Christ and is surrounded by defensive walls and towers. The church boasts ornate frescoes while the monastery itself reflects a stark yet impressive architectural style from the 1600s.

In my humble opinion, this is the most beautiful church in Iaşi. Built in the 17th century, it was minutiously restored in 2015. External ornaments and little towers are simply breathtaking. It is surrounded by old defensive walls that starkly contrast with the neighboring architecture and occasional trams passing by.

The most imposing church/monastery in the city it stands here since the 17th century when it was erected by Vasile Lupu and his son, Lords of Moldova The construction is a mix of byzantine and baroque elements, it has a large yard, the whole ensemble being further surrounded by a thick, high wall with a 30 meter tower at the entrance. The painting inside is breathtaking in color and detail The monastery was revamped a few years ago and is very well taken care of, so you will enjoy this place to the fullest

We visited the Cathedral in Iași as a group on one Saturday. The church is an impressive and majestic building with beautiful painted windows. It was very crowded, as many visitors came to venerate the relics of Saint Parascheva (Saint Petka). The courtyard is spacious and beautifully landscaped, adding to the overall serene and spiritual atmosphere.
Damjena O — Google review
Sant Paraskeva (Sveta Petka) Paraskeva of the Balkans[a] was an ascetic female saint of the 11th century. She was born in Epivates, near present-day Istanbul, and had visions of the Virgin Mary. After living in Chalcedon and Heraclea Pontica, she settled in a convent in the desert near the Jordan River. An angel told her to return to her homeland, and two years later she died at the age of 27. The cult of Saint Paraskeva began to spread in the 14th century from Bulgaria into the Danubian Principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia. There was confusion over her identity and attributes because her Greek name Παρασκευή "Paraskeuḗ, Paraskevi" means "Friday," and translations in other languages, such as Romanian and Serbian, were "Saint Friday". Her cult continues to be celebrated in many Orthodox countries, and her feast day is commemorated on October 14 in the Eastern Orthodox Church Catedrala Mitropolitană „Sfânta Cuvioasă Parascheva”, Iasi 14. Union Square, situated in the heart of Iasi, Romania, is a historic and vibrant gathering place that has been central to the city's identity since the 15th century. The square is home to the impressive neoclassical Union Palace, which houses the City Hall. It holds great significance for Romanians as it was where the unification of Walachia and Moldavia took place in 1859.
If you go here during the weekend or a holiday, I'm sure it will be pretty crowded as it is near the heart of the city. During Christmas it's gorgeous, because they hang lights and put a big, Christmas tree, full of decorations. I truthy recommend

Nestled in the heart of Iasi, Romania, Mănăstirea Sfinții Trei Ierarhi stands as a stunning testament to 17th-century architecture and artistry. This remarkable monastery, commissioned by Vasile Lupu, is not only a royal burial site but also an architectural gem that captivates visitors with its elaborate stonework. The exterior boasts over 30 intricate patterns that beautifully blend Western and Eastern influences, making it a unique sight among religious structures in Romania.
Very beautiful church. The atmosphere is very peaceful. The decoration is mind blowing. It’s a very important historical monument. The tomb of the great Dimitrius Cantemir is there. It’s a very nice and spiritual place. Highly recommended to visit and spend some time there.
Ziya T — Google review
A sacred place, yet its holiness feels cheapened by the way money is handled. Placing a donation box right next to the relics is simply disgraceful, as if after praying, you’re expected to “pay your respects” literally. Faith shouldn’t feel like a transaction. Such a gesture turns devotion into discomfort, and that’s a shame for a place meant to inspire reverence, not revenue.
Mariana D — Google review
Erected in the middle of the 17th century by Vasile Lupu, Trei Ierarhi Monastery (Monastery of the Three Hierarchs) is one of the main Iasi's attractions. Considered to be an architectural masterpiece, it is listed on UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The church is famous for its amazing stonework decoration that covers the walls from the bottom to the top. There are more than 30 different patterns used - both Western and Eastern are harmoniously combined together.
Dinko S — Google review
I heard of this church since I was a kid and saw plenty of pictures of it but nothing could prepare me for the face to face experience: it is absolutely exquisite! The level of intricate detail and the variation in the decorative elements are wild. Pity that even here you can see some of the communist architecture 😓 The inside is less glorious by comparison to the outside, the painting seems dusty. However, this is the burial place of Vasile Lupu, the ktetor, and his family as well as two other princes of Moldova: Dimitri Cantemir, one of the greatest polymaths of the 18th century and Alexandru Ioan Cuza who united Moldova and Wallachia
Klaus W — Google review
Heaven on earth, if you want to wonder at the attention and precision or the stonework, just imagine how it was in the beginning. The materian is 1 side. However, the spiritual is everything at Trei Ierarhi. A monastery directly built to host the holy relics of St. Parascheva, as the special worship place shows, now holds the holy relics of St Basil of Caesarea. When in need of recharging the theology side of theory, he's good to pray to... The monastery was always a spiritual patch to a wounded soul, and i am yet to feed my knowledge with the museum and they typography. A sight worthy of a lot needs to be seen to be understood

The Union Museum - Princiary Residence is a captivating historical museum located in Ias, Romania, housed within a stunning neoclassical building that dates back to the 19th century. Established in 1959 to commemorate the centenary of the unification of Wallachia and Moldavia, this site holds immense significance as it was where this pivotal moment in Romanian history was declared in 1859.
Lovely little memorial house holding a great significance for Romanians as this is the dwelling place of Alexandru Ioan Cuza, the prince who managed to unite Moldova and Wallachia. Foreigners will definitely find this place interesting if only for the wonderful furniture and interior decorations that will send you back to the 1860s. There is info in English for you to check and the museum is part of the seven museums for which you can get a ticket from the Palace of Culture for a discount

The museum has a great significance for Romanian people. Firstly, as the house of the Union where Cuza lived. Secondly, during first World War Iași hosted the country rulers and many refugees, this house being inhabited by the Royal family. The museum shows how the Cuza family lived here and the musum ladies are very nice.

Cetățuia Monastery, a Romanian Orthodox monastery dating back to the 17th century, has a rich history as both a religious site and a fortification. Originally built to protect the prince of Moldova, it features striking architecture with creamy white walls and black onion domes set within expansive grounds. The monastery also houses a museum of medieval art and is believed to have remnants of a Turkish bath within its structure.
A place worth visiting for both locals and tourists. Provides a good view of the surroundings after a pleasant hilly drive. During summer the walled buildings are decorated with bloomed flowers. Good place to do some stargazing too in the evening!

I was there in the evening, nearly no other tourists so it was really relaxed, not a must-see but if you have enough time it's definitely worth a visit

The hike to the monastery is great. There are vineyards all around and you can buy monastery wine which is very lively. The complex is impressive as it served as summer residence for rulers. There were also few other historical events here like Aurel Vlaicu's flight. The church is superb.

"What makes Cetatuia unique is that it has maintained the whole ensemble of monastic architecture. The royal palace is a fortified building from the 17th century. The steeple tower and the massive walls are proof that the monastery was also conceived as a refuge in case of the need for a real fortress."

The stone church and its frescoes reflect centuries of Orthodox tradition. It’s less crowded than other monasteries, which makes the visit feel more intimate and reflective. Great historic building from 1897 and extended in the 1930s. The institution is older, from 1860, with earlier roots. There are a couple of halls to visit: Hall of Lost Steps (main corridor) with 1960s wall murals depicting myths, legends, and historic roots of Romania; Tafrali cafe and souvenir shop (under the main stairs); Aula Magna Mihai Eminescu Auditorium; Old Library and Carmen Sylva Auditorium belonging to sister university Gh. Nestled in the heart of the city, the Great Synagogue stands as a remarkable testament to history, being the oldest synagogue in Romania, dating back to the 17th century. When it was constructed, there were restrictions on religious structures outside of the Christian Orthodox faith regarding their height compared to the Metropolitan Cathedral. To adhere to this regulation, it is thought that builders cleverly designed this sacred space partially underground. This unique architectural choice adds an intriguing layer to its historical significance and charm.

This Catholic Cathedral is very different from the many Orthodox Churches around it. It stands out not only for its round shape, but also the design and minimalist illustrations. The Mihai Eminescu University Library in Iasi, Romania is a renowned center of knowledge and culture. Established in 1841, it houses an extensive collection of over 2 million volumes including books, maps, and manuscripts. The library provides a wide range of resources for research such as modern electronic materials and databases alongside traditional print collections. Situated at the foot of Copou Hill, the building boasts an impressive triangular design with Doric columns and a striking cupola.
We had a wonderful time on the guided tour. The building itself is impressive, with a stunning design. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, sharing interesting facts about the library and answering questions. Do note that you need to book the guided tour in advance from the library's website, which is worth it as the tour is free. It also includes access to a spot with a great view of the city. It’s a well-spent hour for anyone interested in learning more about the library and its history. Highly recommend!

The Mihai Eminescu museum, located in Iasi's Copou Park, is a municipal museum showcasing Romanian literature from Iasi. It holds great cultural significance and its well-preserved interiors make for an enjoyable visit. With its rich historical value, this museum is worth exploring by people of all ages. Additionally, it offers insights into the life of Mihai Eminescu and the history of theater in Romania on its upper floor.
Quite interesting, I saw a picture of Eminescu, he looked somewhat different than we usually portray him.

You can purchase two tickets here, each for the two floors containing exhibitions or you can simply purchase one ticket for the one that interests you most. I suggest foreigners avoid this place altogether, the curation is not the best and the price is high for what is about a 10 minute stay if you are actually interested in the poet. Most of the good reviews seem to come from Romanians who don't want to say anything bad about a place dedicated to their national poet.

(Translated by Google) I can't believe he moved from a palace, literally, to this mess of a place, where it's full of pigeon coops and stinks. There is never paper or soap in the toilet, but I keep going there for my 3-year-old daughter, for the reading/toddler play area in the children's section. I gave 3 stars because the ladies are nice and my daughter likes it, even though I'm terrified when she asks for the toilet. It was like a museum when it was in the Palace of Culture, you left your coat at the cloakroom like at the opera, and everything there was to be visited like a museum. Superb! I'm glad I had this experience as a teenager, but it was great to be able to take my girls to visit as well. I prefer Ateneu, in Tătărași, it is very clean and modern, but the library is a bit small.

Bojdeuca Ion Creangă museum in Iasi, Romania is the first memorial house in the country, providing visitors with a glimpse into how rural communities lived during the 19th century. The house has only three rooms but is filled with original documents and photos from that era. Experienced guides give an engaging presentation of the place. However, weekends tend to be crowded making it challenging to get good photos. Across the road from the museum, there is free parking available for visitors.
Was 5min late after closure, but still nice.

The Iasi Metropolitan Museum is a must-visit, especially for the breathtaking Baptiserium that has been recently restored. The underground museum houses a huge collection of church artifacts, icons, and old books. It's an exceptional experience for anyone interested in art, religion, or history. Visitors can explore cool catacombs leading to the baptistery. Although there were some issues with water leaking and the quality of restoration, it's still worth a visit.
Exceptional in every way, a huge collection of church artefacts, icons and old books, if you are even mildly interested in topics like art, religion or History this place will be a delight There are some cool catacombs leading to a baptistery, a construction that blew me away And an important detail: IT'S FREE to enter 😍 Photos not allowed though

Worth visiting if only for the Baptiserium, which is absolutely breathtaking. You can see it has been recently restored, although the quality might have been a bit better, especially since this is an underground museum(they seemed to have some water leaking). Other than that, the experience has been great, I especially enjoyed having the entire place to myself and exploring it on my own.

The Banu Church, a restored 19th-century stone church dedicated to All Saints Sunday, showcases impressive murals and sculptures. This urban architectural gem, originally built in 1705 and reconstructed in 1799, seamlessly combines elements of Baroque and Classicism. With its recent renovation in Russian style both on the exterior and interior murals, it stands out as one of the most beautiful churches in the city.
Built at the beginning of the 19th century in Russian style it has been recently revamped both on the outside and the inside murals. It stands as one of the prettiest churches in the city although it feels a bit cramped between the Communist building blocks surrounding it

Historical place
Frumoasa Monastery, located in Iasi, has a rich history dating back to the 16th century. It was originally founded by Hetman Melentie Balica and later rebuilt from the ground up between 1836 and 1839 by Father Superior Ioasaf Voinescu. The architecture of the monastery follows a classicist style with a blend of local traditionalism, creating an impressive and aesthetically pleasing structure.
The architecture of the Frumoasa Monastery belongs to the classicist trend. The name is The Holy Arhaghels Michael and Gabriel. This edifice combines, in favour of aesthetics, the simplicity and sobriety of classicism with local traditionalism. The monuments, walls, and places of Frumoasa bear the distant echo of some veridical events that perpetuated for four centuries. The architecture and construction of the church are very impressive.

(Translated by Google) When you go to a church, you should not be interested in whether it is big or small, whether it is beautiful or less beautiful, the important thing is to feel, through it, the connection with divinity. When you enter this church it is as if it is something else, as if you feel the atmosphere of tranquility specific to a monastery isolated in the mountains. At the same time, congratulations to the parish priest who takes into account the fact that the church is in the yard of a hospital and they put chairs inside, so that those who are "weakened" by illness can also attend the service. Additionally, recent improvements to the new terminal have enhanced facilities such as parking for drop off and pick up, as well as electric car charging stations.
I just got stunned today looking a bit around after I brought a friend to a flight. This airport is cleaner than Luton Airport by many times over. It felt great to see good things in Romania. In the future I would love to go further than security pass and take a flight as well.

We recently discovered the new café La Ciambella at Iași Airport, but unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. No freshes, no pastries (brioches)... Just alkohol, the ocean of alkohol... The smoking room has very poor ventilation, and after just five minutes in the café, it felt like we were inside a smoke chamber. It’s been nearly a year since the grand opening of Terminal 4 at Iași International Airport, yet there are still no proper shops, no food court, and very limited amenities. No plugs for laptops or phone chargers..;( Hopefully, this summer presents a great opportunity to improve the situation and attract more tourists to the city. Looking forward to seeing some upgrades soon!

The airport is very small, outdated, and probably was not designed for such a flow of people. Okay, it was under construction now and will probably be more spacious soon. The waiting room, until you pass the control area, is not equipped with chairs. It's just a cafe inside, but it has few tables and is overpriced. It has self-service machines with drinks, coffee and snacks, but only accepts cash and cannot be paid by card. The waiting room, after you pass the control area, is equally small, and although it is equipped with more seats, they are not enough for the passengers of 2 flights anyway. Sockets are available to charge phones. They also have 1 store like Dutty Free, a cafe that doesn't cope and you might have to wait in line for a long time. There is also a queue at the Self Service machine (only one) - it accepts both cash and card payments, but it works so slow. The toilets are small, and someone takes care to keep them tidy. Right at the Airport there is a bus station that also runs at night to the city center.

Casa Dosoftei is a historical gem dating back to the 17th century, once home to Moldavian Prince Dimitrie Cantemir. Now transformed into a museum, it meticulously preserves the region's literary and cultural heritage. The beautifully restored interiors house a remarkable collection of artifacts, offering visitors a captivating glimpse into the past. Situated in an architecturally rich district of Iasi, this museum is not only informative but also offers a serene atmosphere and welcoming staff.
Although it is marked as closed, the museum has been open for a year and a half now after one year of renovation. Although small it is quite impressive for its collection of books dating back to the 16th century they are some of the most representative books for Romanian culture. The entry fee is adequate for what you get especially because the lady guide there will fill you in with a lot of details and will make what is a small museum seem like a History lesson (I doubt she speaks English or anything but Romanian, though). Sadly, taking pictures is not allowed in the price of the ticket, you have to pay extra a rather prohibitive amount.

Add to this the warm and welcoming staff, always ready to provide information, and this museum becomes a truly fascinating and enjoyable experience.

It's unbelivable! Very nice museum. Looks awesome!

A nice museum! The Casa Dosoftei, also known as the "House with the Arcades", is most likely incorrectly named after the canonized metropolitan Dosoftei. It is probably an 18th century merchant's house and thus not the location where the first liturgy was printed in the Romanian language. However, that does not detract from the quality of the Museum of Old Moldavian Literature located here!

A splendid place. Unfortunately, there is no way to get in. No display if the place is open/closed, no working hours. Just a locked dor. Very sad.

Saint Peter and Paul Monastery is a captivating religious site in Iasi that, despite undergoing renovations during my visit, remains open to the public. The atmosphere was vibrant, with a liturgical service drawing a large crowd on a weekday—so much so that some worshippers had to stay outside due to limited space inside. The community surrounding this beautiful church is truly impressive, and the respectful staff are eager to share its rich history with visitors.
Under renovation at the time of my visit it was still open and included the liturgical service. From what I've gathered the community around it is quite impressive, the church was full on a weekday with some people staying outside as the church couldn't fit all of them

A beautiful church under renovation at this moment, but you can visit it. The respectful civil persons of the church can tell you about it's history. God bless them.

First church I've been to that as soon as I entered the ladies that were cleaning the church and were very loudly arguing among themselves started yelling at me that I can't take pictures. The church rules posted inside said nothing about not being able to take pictures, it's in their best interest to have people know about this church, it did however say that you have to keep quiet, so when I pointed that out to them they all started yelling at me!!!

Historical landmark
Casa Joseph Zoller 1912 is a well-preserved neoclassical building with decorative elements on its facade, reflecting the style of the early 20th century. The French neoclassical influence is evident in its exterior design and cream-colored architecture. Visitors are captivated by its impressive structure, stunning views, and splendid courtyard, making it an unforgettable experience. This beautiful monument offers a wonderful blend of history and aesthetics, attracting visitors who appreciate its historical significance and picturesque setting.
"Casa Joseph Zoller" amazed me from the start: with its impressive architecture, stunning view and its splendid yard it gives you that WOW feeling of an unforgettable kind of experience! Feeling lucky that I had the chance to see such a memorable house with such a wonderful view and history!

The Joseph Zoller House is a hidden architectural gem in Iași. Walking past it, I was captivated by its elegant facade and intricate details. A must-see for history lovers!"
Andrei M — Google review
As far as I noticed, the specific neoclassical exterior is very well preserved in the decorative elements on the facade. This is specific to the period in which it had been built, the start of the XX century. The inspiration of the French neoclassical style can be noticed from its outside design, from the white-cream color to its exquisite architecture.

Ss. Theodore Church, located on a street leading towards Bolta Rece and Vila Sonet, is now concealed behind the massive blocks on Independence Blvd. The church was constructed between 1750-1761, replacing an older wooden structure built before 1665 by Solomon Barladeanul, which was destroyed in the fire of 1735. Currently renovated, this beautiful and ancient church stands as a testament to its rich history.
(Translated by Google) This church located on a street that goes up towards Bolta Rece and towards Vila Sonet, is today hidden behind the massive blocks on Bd. Independence. The church was built between 1750-1761, on the base of an older wooden one. which had been built before 1665, by the great vornic Solomon Bârladeanul, a house that had been burned in the fire of 1735. Saint Theodori represents the well-preserved prototype of a whole series of city churches, which combine decorative elements specific to "Constantinopolitan Baroque" and Russian-inspired classicism. Only in cowards. the series is illustrated by the Old Metropolis, the Curelari and Talpalari churches, etc. The new fashion remained, however, at the level of external ornamentation, the Moldovan church preserving certain canons that did not allow significant changes regarding the structural type of ecclesiastical edifices, which are maintained along the lines of Orthodox traditions. All the decorative elements from the church of Sfinții Teodori (joined panels. Doric and Corinthian capitals), combined in a harmonious unity, inscribe this edifice among the most interesting monuments of the 18th century. The iconostasis of the church has icons from three different eras. Remarkable are the royal icons and the patron icon, of Saints Teodori, painted in 1665. coming from the old church, of Solomon Bârladeanul. Iconostasul bisericii are icoane din trei epoci diferite. Remarcabile sunt icoanele împărăteşti şi icoana de hram, a Sfinţilor Teodori, pictate la 1665. provenind de la vechea biserică, a lui Solomon Bârlădeanul.
