Came here the other day for a quick bite to eat on the top floor cafeteria of de Bijenkorf. I ordered from the Wok section and got a spicy chicken yellow curry with rice. It cost €18 and was a very large portion. I wish they had provided the option for a take-away or doggy bag as I ended up leaving over half of the meal. The curry was delicious and I was curious about the other sections e.g. Grill and Bar as the food and drinks coming from those booths looked incredible too! I had a Heineken with my meal but the beer was quite warm. Overall a very nice experience, I just wish they had the option to take your leftovers with you! Such a waste of food.

I often visit The Beehive, De Bijenkorf warehouse in the heart of Amsterdam, Dam Square. This is one of the oldest warehouses of The Netherlands. Shop in shop concept and houses high end brands such as Prada, Villeroy and Boch, Hermes, Louis Vuitton and many more.

High end department store in Amsterdam and the food court offers mostly freshly prepared dishes. More attention should be paid to keeping the chairs and tables clean though.

De Bijenkorf on Dam Square is more than a high‑end department store - it’s a 5‑floor feast of modern design, fashion and culture with a café, art gallery and even small concerts. I stopped by in early September when the weather was comfy with plenty of sun and the city felt quieter, making it the perfect time to shop while cycling through Amsterdam.

I never received such a bad gift packaging as it was done at bijenkorf.

Restaurant the Kitchen is on the 5th floor, it has a good selection of: coffee/ drinks; Asian food; Italian food; burger & fries; salads; fresh made juices; desserts.

This grand and majestic building, with its striking brick façade and stone decorations, is listed as a national monument (rijksmonument) and is considered part of the Netherlands’ cultural and historical heritage. Once serving as the city’s main post office, it has now been transformed into a modern shopping mall, hosting some of international brands. However, some of the ground floor shops are closed, and overall it lacks the lively atmosphere of a major shopping center.

Historic shopping hall steps from the palace, but right now it is dominated by construction noise and barriers. 🚧 I’d wait until renovations wrap before planning a visit.

A very beautiful building with impressive architecture, though there are only a few shops inside. There is a souvenir store that offers some nice items, but it is on the pricier side. The restrooms are paid, and many of the shop spaces are currently empty, which makes the interior feel a bit quiet. However, the display showcasing the city’s history in chronological order is quite interesting and worth a look.

Magna Plaza stopped me in my tracks, an architectural showpiece right behind the Royal Palace. The Neo-Gothic and Neo-Renaissance mix is stunning, with striped stonework, soaring spires, and endless details to take in from the street. It almost feels like a cathedral until you spot the banners and storefronts. Even without going inside, it was worth lingering over just to admire the craftsmanship. One of the most striking facades I saw in Amsterdam.

Amazing from an architectural point of view, quite the dissapointment when it come to shopping. There are barely any shops, no wonder its fairly empty.

We were impressed by the beautiful building but had hoped that there were more stores (apparel). If you have to use their washrooms, it will cost you 1.50 euros 😟

Magna Plaza is a decent shopping center with a range of stores. It's not too big, but offers a good variety of shops and places to grab a bite. The atmosphere is relaxed, but the mall could use more modern touches and better maintenance. It's a fine place for shopping, but not the most exciting mall in Amsterdam.

Very good, high-quality fish. I tried the salmon sandwich option for €12.50, which was cheap for Amsterdam prices. I recommend it !

You can get oysters shucked and served right here at the stand, and they are absolutely amazing — fresh, delicious, and at a great price! Definitely worth stopping by.

We first went to this place in Nov 2023, we visited twice and had so fresh fish and shrimps, as well as the mixed seafood. We tried the sandwiches with raw fish but not that into it, but it’s a nice try as this is a traditional local food. And this time (April 2024) I brought my parents and visited again. We had more dishes and enjoyed the tasty seafoods here, especially the grilled shrimps

I found this place while walking around the market and I decided to stop here for lunch. I had the shrimp sandwich menu and it was super tasty and a great portion size.

Haring is really recommended for try with onion. Kibbeling meat is quite few, not performing well as Haring.

Stumbled upon this shop along the Albert Cuyp Market and was very wonderfully surprised. The kibbling was soft and fluffy, not overly oily. The herring was nice with the pickled onions. Really enjoyed it.

One of the greatest places in the Albert market. The team there are SO nice and really know what the They know what they are selling and customize the goods for the customer and all with a smile. The stand is clean, the fish and seafood are fresh and without bad smell or aftertaste. We ate on a plate of ice oysters from different parts of the world, sea urchin, red tuna and salmon sashimi. A delicious and good experience! Recommend warmly and with love! A place not to be missed when arriving at the market

Goatfarm Ridammerhoeve is a delightful place to visit! Set in the Amsterdamse Bos, it’s perfect for families and animal lovers. You can feed and pet the goats, enjoy delicious homemade cheese and ice cream, and relax at the cozy café with fresh organic food. The staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is peaceful and fun for all ages. A must-visit gem in Amstelveen!

Very good place to bring kids, there many animals in the farm like horses, goat, pigs. You can see them up close and also can feed the goats also lots of chickens. Kids also have slides and swings also a maze near by the farm . You can very well spend a day here with kids with lots of activities

Very nice farm in a beautiful location, lots of things to do for kids, and relaxing place for the parents. You can buy a bottle of milk and kids can feed baby goats. Their cafe is also very well stocked, and there are plenty of seating options outside.

Lovely, family friendly place. Lots of farm animals - goats, cows, chickens, and even a few horses. Everything is free, except for the feeding bottles, which costs 1.5 euro per bottle. You can pay by card. They have a restaurant and a shop inside, the prices are completely reasonable.

Good place for children or just for a stop on your hike. You can pet and feed the goats. The small restaurant has a lot of delicious options.

As a tourist, I can say that the place is beautiful and safe for children. The animals are very well cared for and are wonderful. Unfortunately, today I was disrespected by the employee responsible for preparing hot beverages during the afternoon shift. When I arrived at the cashier to place my order and make the payment, everything went smoothly, but the employee in charge of making my cappuccino did not prepare my order. After waiting for some time and seeing many people being served, I called her once and waited a bit longer. She then asked if I was the one who had placed the order, and I confirmed. She approached me and complained: “When you were in line, I asked if you wanted something to drink and you said no.” I was so surprised that I apologized. She prepared my coffee and asked if I wanted a tray. I thanked her and said no. She then grabbed the tray and slammed it down. I understand that the place was very busy today, but I honestly did not understand what she asked while I was in line, and as a customer, I have the right to change my mind and place the drink order at the cashier. In the end, my family and I left disappointed with the service at the café.

Nice street to walk. We only stopped in a couple shops because most of these brands are unaffordable to us but it was a nice street to tour.

Ah, Pieter Cornelisz Hooftstraat—Amsterdam’s glittering runway of wealth, where luxury boutiques line up like peacocks preening for attention. Sadly, I forgot to dress the part of “successful jet-setter” and therefore didn’t dare waltz into the temples of high fashion for my holiday shopping haul. I didn’t want to be that tourist who lowers the property value simply by stepping inside. The street itself? Surprisingly quiet. I was expecting something with a bit more pulse, perhaps a symphony of clinking glasses and credit cards swiping in unison. Instead, I got people delicately sipping wine at al fresco cafés, a few folks perfecting the art of pedestrian window shopping, and parking spaces brimming with cars that cost more than my apartment. The shops didn’t seem especially busy—either the rich have gone elsewhere to splurge, or they send their assistants instead. Not many tourists, either. Which I suppose is the point. This isn’t your average Amsterdam street for stroopwafels and souvenir clogs. No, here the air itself smells like haute couture and exclusivity—just inhaling feels like a minor luxury purchase. Would I recommend it? Absolutely, but only if your credit card limit is in the stratosphere—or if you, like me, enjoy the sport of people-watching while silently wondering how many zeros are sitting in everyone else’s bank account.

Nice scenery around it and most of the brand’s shops are in one street- recommended for luxury shopping.

Amsterdams antique street. Many stores specialize in certain type of antique, nice place to look for unique souvenirs. Also features tons of art galleries.

As always very friendly approach. Excellent products. It is good to know they have opened again. Highly recommended, however not what I would call cheap. The outstanding products are worth the expenses.

To be fair, most of the KNSM island is interesting just architecturally speaking. The IJ side of the island is pretty boring, except for the water views, good for dog walking or running. With the exception of the quay crane B&B, which is kind of funny. When coming up to the end of the Surinamekade, one has a great view of the IJ, and also one can admire the circular affordable housing complex Venetiëhof, part of the Emerald Empire, designed by Jo Coenen. When exiting through the Venetiehof (enter the garden, go straight to the other side), one is confronted by a work of art, kind of like a spindle, or a compass. Go straight and keep left to follow the Levantkade barbeque park at the water side, which is what I did anyway, walk straight on and enter the house boat permanent parking, where one can find many old house boats turned into B&Bs, a dock swimming area, plus one or two nice restaurants. I tried Break Amsterdam (formerly known as Kleine Kaart), and the grilled trout was amazing. Good walking!

If you love art and crafts. You need to visit this island. Lots of art and culture related shops and workshops.

The KNSM island is a peninsula in the IJ. It is part of the Eastern Docklands in Amsterdam East. The KNSM Island is a man-made island in the Eastern Docklands of Amsterdam. It is named for the Koninklijke Nederlandsche Stoomboot-Maatschappij (KNSM), the Royal Dutch Steamboat Shipping company which used to have its headquarters and its docks on the island. It is now a large residential area containing modern architecture with a mostly well-off population.

Good place to spent quick afternoon with family n kids. Enough place to shop and eat. The supermarket has option for quick grabs too although no place to warm food. Toilets are paid with small area for kids to play. One minute walk from busstation

The parking at this mall on Sundays is a complete disaster. It’s extremely congested with barely any spots left, and navigating through the lot feels like a high-stakes obstacle course. The chances of a collision are uncomfortably high due to the tight spaces and chaotic traffic flow. There’s no traffic guidance or staff presence, which only adds to the mess. If you value your time—and your car—either use the nearby QPark parking for a safer experience or, better yet, don’t visit the mall at all on weekends.

So many shops , i find something new each time . Has supermarket , places to buy meds , clothes , cosmetics , perfume and many more ...restaurants are here too everything is clean and has a catchy design

Very nice lovely shopping centre. I could visit alot of shops I havent visited in a long time because they moved away from near me in Amsterdam. Also a lot of shops I have never seen like a japanese shop. There also os a play area. And I saw benches with outlets to charge your phone. Today (Friday) also happened to be market day. Great shopping experience if you get there don't forget to pop in to the Indonesian restaurant next to Macdonald's and I love the cooked mackerel amazing value and there are lots of selections for 15 Euro you can pick up a meal and that is value for money

Great shop, they've got everyday household items, clothes, make-up, food, two cafes, toilets (€ 0,40 cent), stuff for bikes, beds, you name it. They'll help you out and prices are good, good quality too. Recommend it! It's a chain all over the Netherlands but this is a big shop of theirs.

I want to give a huge shoutout to Johan! He was incredibly helpful, patient, and went above and beyond to assist me when I truly needed it. I can’t thank him enough; he really saved me, and I genuinely believe he deserves Employee of the Month for the way he handled my situation. Before connecting with Johan, I had spoken with another employee who was unfortunately very rude and unwilling to help. When I asked if she could check something for me, she simply said “no” and left it at that. It was very discouraging. Thankfully, I tried again and got Johan....what a complete difference! He not only helped but did so with kindness and professionalism. I’m super appreciative of everything he did for me.

Our first experience in Hema was a great one. Accidently bumped into one outlet at the den Hague but it was closed then. Straight away went to the toy section, they had many wooden type toys that attract our son - and wife as well. The cafe serves excellent apple pie evoke the coffee is not too bad. Some food come in a set. The American cookies at €1 are also great to have.

This iced coffee with chocolate is a must try if you are going in Hema.

An asian sales lady is very helpful and supportive in men section. Bought some blouses and pants which is affordable price and worth for money. Good shopping experience in this shop.

A great store at one of the most important locations in Amsterdam. A lot of options for men and women. Most of the clothes were for winter wear. The staff was very helpful.

It's a great shopping brand on the high Street. We also have this brand in Paris so when I seen them in Amsterdam I couldn't resists to go and have a good look. I must say this store is very well organized and very clearly decorated. They have all ladies gents and kids sections in different floors. Couldn't bother to go and check ladies and kids but went directly to the men's section. They have so many different items in here which we don't have in Paris store and price wise they are same as Paris. I rated this store 5/5 just because of their floors planning and organizations.

Really liked the unique theme of an old Church turned into a brewery with a bar inside and beach seating outside. Wide range of fresh beers to try here. Zoonegloed was one of my favorites.

Atmosphere wise, the coolest bar/brewery in Amstelveen. Its located within an old church, the interior structure is still completely intact, the location makes the bar feel lively and spacious. One downside to this place is that the beer that they brew and sell, is not particularly that good. It ain't bad but it's definitely below average, better just stick to their standard pilsner because all the other beers we tried were not worth it.

Really nice atmosphere outside and cheerful colours, reminding you summer. The bad thing is that it is so close to a big traffic road. But you almost forget it there.Further, the interior of the place is amazing. The best one of this kind (from the ones that I visited until now). The service was good and everybody was kind and with a smile. The menu is huge. So you have a big variety of drinks to choose of. Totally recommend it!! I also liked the way that they offer the bill( check the fotos)

Incredible range of beers and spirits brewing and distilling right in front of you! I personally loved the Shipa Citra beer, which has a pronounced citrus flavour and a soft, bitter finish. Also tried their rum which was tasty - looking forward to returning and enjoying more off the menu. Food was very tasty, staff were slow to serve but very friendly - no dogs inside as they have an open kitchen. Great place, definitely recommend.

The unique place is nearby Amsterdam. The brewery serves a wide range of their tasty craft beer. Do not forget to pick up some in the beer shop.

What a horrible experience. First of all it was 3:30 and the shop was closed ! Then we went to few shops around the corner and suddenly it was open…the minute we enter the guy who is working was looking in disgust at us 😕. Then I asked him while trying to get closer to show him the product that I was looking for ( the picture was on my mother phone ) which is : Berberine. He didn’t even looked and was looking at a magazine. I said please have a look. He said: “ you didn’t have the picture yet! ( with an attitude of disgust ). He had a glimpsed and then said we don’t have it and walked away!!! That all happened in seconds. Then he went to help another couple and while walked them to the back of the store. He was yelling : “ you know this is not a pharmacy ! You can’t find this here ! Bye ! “ I said : “ what is with the attitude !!??? Why being sassy !! “ He said : “ will I know that you don’t know and this is not the place for you…..” His attitude was very much childlike and so disrespectful in so many level, why ? He disrespectful the two couple who he was escorting and second I was going my way out, why the yelling the sissy attitude !?!?? I am just a customer who wants a produced. I lift the store yelling my self ( hated that ) telling him : “ you are so rude !!!!! “ I love holland and Barrett but after this experience I don’t know if I will visit again ! P.s: that was 13the of November 2024

A great Friday market of mostly books, prints and art. It is also surrounded by book stores.

This is such a great gem of Amsterdam! The used books are cool, the stalls have other things too like old prints and maps. All of the vendors are very nice and are all very interesting to talk with. I enjoy coming here every time I’m in Amsterdam and looking through all of the cool stuff for sale. If you’re in Amsterdam when this is happening I would highly recommend coming to check it out! The prices have all been very reasonable every time I have gone. I am always able to find a nice gift for my family, my friends, or a gift for myself (sometimes all three), when I come to the market here.

Cool little book market. Lots of books in Dutch and English, and some are available in French or German. Some antiquarian books, but most are paperbacks or more recent hardbacks. They're one very cool stall specializing in sci Fi. A few of the stalls specialize in prints and maps.

Lovely market close to 4 other bookshops you can visit while you are already there. You will find books, prints, postcards, journals and much more. Some of it is quite cheap while other things are sometimes a bit more expensive. It’s every Friday and def worth to visit when in Amsterdam

The old lady at the counter is very incompetent and rude so I do not recommend this store all. I asked if I can get a bag for my shopping and she said no need, because I can cary them. When I insisted she said it will cost me 10cents but only cash, no card. As I had no cash she did not provide me with a bag even though I spent 120€ in the shop.

Not a great place to visit. Wouldn't recommend . The one old lady who bills in first floor of the store is quite rude and unapproachable. She seems to be unhappy that customers are buying. It's been 3 times I visited and purchased birthday gifts, and everytime the lady shows up with frowned face. And when asked to gift wrap, I just can't explain how Shabby she just wraps the paper. Last but not the least, the way she throwed the payment receipt on face . Pretty sure will not revisit the store.

The elderly lady in the store behind the counter is totally unfriendly, very impatient and looks as if she is very unhappy, which makes the shopping experience very unpleasant especially for kids. I hope the store manager will give some feedback to the lady, after all, this is a toy store, should be a happy place for kids to shop and check out.

Really big and spacious toys shop. You can get all kind of toys like figures, wooden toys, dolls, board games, outdoor games etc. The shop is on two floors. The price is a little bit higher than that quoted on online platforms, for some of the items which I bought. However, the difference was marginal

I came here at the advice of the tour guide from Captain Dave’s canal tours (which I also recommend) and I’m so glad I did. We came around 9:30am and the market, though crowded, was tolerably so. You can find anything from clothes, jewelry, belts, special nuts from Morocco, delicious cheese, freshly fried fish, bags, beautiful flowers and arrangements and fresh produce. I had possibly the best strawberries I’ve ever eaten here. They were perfectly ripe, glistening and sweet. My mom and I bought 6 belts at 7-10 euros a belt! The vendor also sized them for us at the stand. We got fried fish which from Bond Fish that was so delicious we went back for another small plate. We walked away with truffle cheese and we don’t even consume cheese regularly. There is a Moroccan nut stand with lively vendors that we got flax seed covered almonds from which were somehow incredible. It tastes better than it sounds trust me. I left the market feeling so alive and full, both physically and metaphorically.
