Science museum
Museums
Cité de l'Espace is a futuristic theme park and museum in Toulouse that offers an interactive experience for space enthusiasts of all ages. Visitors can explore exhibits, watch IMAX films, and gaze at the giant Ariane space rocket. The museum also features a playground called the Little Astronaut for kids to enjoy while adults tour the Mir Space station. This space-themed attraction provides an educational and entertaining experience for families, making it a must-visit site in Toulouse.
The exhibition and museum dedicated to space and science is truly a remarkable experience. It features an array of captivating attractions, thrilling rides, and engaging shows that cater to visitors of all ages, making it an ideal destination for families. Nestled within a thoughtfully designed science park, the entire experience is both convenient and immersive. What stands out is the careful attention given to explaining the wonders of the universe. Each display and interactive element invites curiosity and exploration, making complex concepts accessible and fascinating. I was particularly enchanted by the rover exhibition, which offered a hands-on glimpse into Mars exploration, and the breathtaking moon takeoff and landing simulation, which transported me to the very edge of the cosmos. Overall, this exhibition comes highly recommended for anyone eager to expand their knowledge and ignite their imagination!

Great place. I saw a lot of comments that everything is in French only, well, that's not true, apart from some spectacles, everything is available in French, English and Spanish. However, they could provide some subtitles for the French only parts. I spent there 1 full day, it's enough to see the most important parts and walk through the whole object. If you want to really have full experience and see everything thoroughly, 2 days are recommended. Great place for kids, adults and anyone who loves space exploration. My favorite spectacle was the imax space images. Overall, highly recommended.
Pawel B — Google review
There are lots of shows which are really informative and educational. We loved the Mars Rover one, but the only thing was everything was explained in French so we had to use live translation. The planetarium shows has audio guides in english. Other than above this is a great place to visit for both kids and adults who love space.
Ramyabharathi D — Google review
This is Europe’s largest space and astronomy-themed park, opened in 1997 in Toulouse — a major hub of the European aerospace industry (home to EADS Astrium, Airbus, etc.). This science and education complex features full-scale replicas of the Ariane 5 rocket, Mir space station, and various satellites, as well as interactive exhibits, planetariums, a 3D IMAX theater, and space simulators. Designed for both children and adults, the park offers hands-on experiences and educational workshops that explore the past, present, and future of space exploration. Visitors are recommended to spend at least half a day, with 1-day and 2-day tickets available. On-site accommodation is also available.
Seokjin H — Google review
Great time. We went on a Tuesday in September so it was very quiet and we got to do all we wanted in a day. Highly recommend the Lunexplorer and the Mars robot exhibition
P M — Google review
If you’re in Toulouse and even remotely curious about space, the Cité de l’Espace is a must-visit — especially with kids. I went with my daughter, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences we’ve had together. The IMAX Deep sky show was fantastic. Gazing at the stars in the Planetarium made us feel like we were travelling through the galaxy. The highlight is the Lune Explorer where you get to experience being an astronaut on a mission to Moon. You can literally feel the 2G force!
Yash V — Google review
It's a must see if you are in the area. I would recommend setting a few hours aside if you visit - especially if you want to check out some of the shows on offer. Planetarium and take off simulations are great - the latter does have quite a bit of a wait time however. Translation headphones are available for planetarium - English and Spanish. There's also a restaurant and food trucks, the only thing missing was a coffee truck for some pick me up. Overall spent around 5h and haven't seen everything.
Jakub J — Google review
Love it! Very good place to visit. Full of astronomy, stars, planets, and fun things. Tons of activities to do and see. You would need the whole full day for this. Highly recommended.

Art museum
Museums
The Musée des Augustins, located in Toulouse, is a fine art museum housed in an old Augustinian monastery. Since 1793, it has been home to numerous works of art, including Romanesque sculptures and paintings from the 17th and 19th centuries. Notable pieces include 'Christ between Two Thieves' by Rubens and 'The Descent from the Cross' by local artist Nicolas Tournier.
The museum is located in an old convent and it's a very beautiful gothic architectural gem. The collection is also beautiful with paintings and sculptures from the middle ages, a small collection but worth seeing The cafe in the ethrium middle of the building is also a plus. The museum is free and there was no waiting time.
Demetra P — Google review
Modern Art exhibition with focus on farming people. I liked the place and the surrounding park. It’s located on the riverside opposite of the city center of Toulouse and both the area and the exhibition are worth a visit.
Petra K — Google review
One of the places my son and I have enjoyed very much. He even took a power nap there and I take the opportunity to tank one more time to the very kind lady at the entrance of the light room, for letting him sleep on her chair. This is an old convent transformed in a museum with a beautiful patio garden with heavenly smelling roses and other beautiful plants that give these place a short of calmness and tranquility that you could only find in a church environment. On the other hand all the sculptures and artworks around compliment the settlement very well and the way the artwork is exposed, displayed is just fab. Loved it! 🙏
Gabriela I — Google review
Unfortunately, the museum is on renovation until 2025..., but the garden and a small exhibition are open. Also, there is a small caffe still working. So, I recommend visiting!
Larisa M — Google review
I paid 6 euro just to see one floor. The museum is two floors but the second one was closed!! The museum itself is nice but i don't think it was worth the money. There was a temporary exhibition when i went there so i have managed to see more than what i was supposed to. But still didn't satisfy me.
M D — Google review
Truly a wonderful museum of Toulouse. Museum entry free 12 Euro per adult and school or college concession available in the entry free. Some world class oil painting and collection of old historical items in one place. Must watch place in Toulouse. Highly Recommended.
Suman G — Google review
A fine museum. Although, unfortunately the paintings gallery is undergoing renovations currently, there is still plenty to see. The buildings and the cloisters and garden are themselves magnificent and house some great sculptures and many of Toulouse's artefacts from many of the other old and former religious buildings of the city. The serried ranks of gargoyles that line one side of the cloisters are marvellous as are the medieval sculpture and carvings. Within the church lies the reliquary of St Augustine along with some fine religious painting by such luminaries as Van Dyck and Rubens to name just two. I look forward to returning to see the painting gallery following its renovation due in 2019.

Basilique Saint-Sernin de Toulouse, a medieval basilica located in Toulouse, France, is renowned for housing relics of 128 saints and a thorn believed to be from the Crown of Thorns. This UNESCO-listed site is one of the largest Romanesque churches in Europe. The church's crypt contains an extensive collection of relics donated by Charlemagne to the abbey on this site in the 800s.
The Basilique Saint-Sernin is an unmissable monument in Toulouse. It’s a stunning and well-preserved example of Romanesque architecture, known for its impressive size and beautiful details. Built in the 11th and 12th centuries, it was an important stop for pilgrims on the Way of St. James. Visiting this basilica is a must for anyone interested in history, art, or architecture—it truly captures the spirit of the city.
Sofia C — Google review
It is a nice and clean church, both the exterior and interior are beautiful, it was a pleasure to visit this church during a day trip to Toulouse and a walk around the city center. When we entered the church, young girls and boys were singing religious songs and a good spiritual atmosphere was created. The church was relatively quiet and had the necessary peace. I personally felt very good and I hope you will also have a good experience visiting this church.
Javad A — Google review
The basilica is one of the largest Romanesque-style churches in Europe and a major landmark of Toulouse. Construction began around 1080 and continued through the 13th century. The building reflects a pure Romanesque design with later Gothic additions, combining red brick with pale stone. Its most iconic feature is the 64-meter octagonal bell tower, a defining element of the city’s skyline.
Seokjin H — Google review
This is a truly mind blowing cathedral. It is the largest remaining Romanesque church in the world. Its soaring barrel voltage ceiling gives a sense of space and majesty. There are wonderful statues and some incredible fresco paintings which have survived hundreds of years. I must see when in this city.
G M — Google review
Beautiful architecture. We were lucky that there was a wedding ceremony when we entered so we got to hear the organ play live which was amazing. The entrance is free. Highly recommend a visit.
Cristina H — Google review
A more grandiose cathedral, visible from many parts of the city because of the distinctive tower. The access was limited when we visited because there was a service on.

Toulouse is a city with a rich musical heritage, offering a diverse range of music experiences. The Théâtre du Capitole stands as an iconic landmark in the city, housing both the town hall and the opera house behind its pink neoclassical facade. The venue hosts classical music performances and operas, making it a must-visit for music enthusiasts.
A great place in Toulouse center (Place du Capitole) that offers ballet and opera shows of great quality. Tickets need to be purchased in advance, most of the shows are sold out quickly.
Emilia P — Google review
This is a wonderful and endment Theatre. It has a modern foyer and has been beautifully painted inside. I was fortunate enough to see the Capitole Oper ballet company in a tribute to Maurice Ravel. They were accompanied by the opera Orchestra and it was a wonderful show. Then to be sea of the theater means that the sound is wonderful. I was in the back of a side loge quite high, but if I still could see this stage without an issue. I got an H euro ticket by lining up one hour prior to the performance, which is when returns are re-sold.
G M — Google review
Really amazing experience to watch ballet
Tulio L — Google review
The performances are AMAZING, staff are lovely and super helpful. The super high up seats at Paradise have indeed reduced visibility but it's acceptable (I didn't even realized they were at first), at the front-er seats the quality is perfect. I was very impressed with the mise en scène of Nabucco by Verdi and Norma by Bellini. This theater's interpretation of Orphée aux Enfers also has a nice touch of humour and a unique variation in the final part of Act 1. The ballet performances are nice. I'd keep updating in the future cause you just have to come back here! (I painted a scene in their Norma 2025 out of my impression)
Minh N — Google review
Stunning theatre. Today's performance of Rusalka was epic. The building has excellent acoustics and if all the performances are as good as this, I'd be there every week if I lived here.

Great experience! Very emotional show after years of not going to the Opera. The Ballet team of the Capitole are great and the different directors have added their true spirit to Chopin and Mozart. All the staff from top to bottom showed amazing manners and etiquette. We felt great at all times! Keep it up 👍🏻👍🏻

Fresh food market
The Victor Hugo Market in Toulouse is a historic covered market with 88 stalls offering premium fish, meats, cheeses, and other foodstuffs. It's a foodie paradise featuring specialty vendors like Maison Garcia for sausages and foie gras, Chez Betty for cheese, and Busquets for artisan chocolates. The upper floor hosts five restaurants while the market's watering holes like Electro Bar and Bar des Amis offer drinks to accompany your purchases.
Victor Hugo Market, located in downtown Toulouse, offers a comprehensive selection of French and European food products, including popular beers and wines. I tried various cheeses, salamis, and fresh oysters, complemented by a selection of red and white wines. Ample seating is available on the second floor to accommodate groups of all sizes. I will totally visit the market during my next trip to Toulouse.
Nguyen N — Google review
Great selection of meat, cheese, seafood, fruits and vegetables. Local produce mainly and imported food. Lovely restaurants on second floor service local specialties. Try the oysters!
Yvonne S — Google review
Victor Hugo Market is easy to find and very pleasant to explore. The outdoor area is lined with fresh fruits and vegetables — I even spotted some porcini mushrooms (planned to buy them later, but they were sold out by the time I came back 😂). Inside, you’ll find all the classic European market goodies — cheeses, meats, olives, and more. I was amazed by a beautiful little cake for €4 — couldn’t resist buying it, and the vendor even gave me a lovely box for it. At the far end, there’s a fresh seafood section with oysters, salmon, and all kinds of seafood. I chose a dozen oysters for €18 plus €2 for opening — €20 in total. Slightly salty, incredibly fresh, and so delicious that all twelve disappeared in just a few minutes!
Albert X — Google review
Typical french market , long established. So many choices of stalls for products sourced locally. Very friendly and helpful shop keepers. The place is crowded with locals. The choice of French fromage , wines and patisserie is mouth watering. I keep coming back to the place.
Rajesh N — Google review
Amazing market that is clean and have a wide selection of quality food and produce. There is a big car park upstairs and the parking lots are much wider than the normal ones in the city
Ken A — Google review
This is the largest and most renowned covered market in Toulouse, celebrated for its fresh produce, regional delicacies, and upstairs restaurants that make it a culinary hotspot. Named after the famous French writer Victor Hugo, the current building was completed in 1959, though a market has operated on this site since the late 19th century. It's a central gathering place for locals and visitors alike, offering everything from meats, cheeses, and seafood to wine and pastries.
Seokjin H — Google review
The Victor Hugo Market in Toulouse is an absolute feast for the senses, offering a vibrant and authentic taste of French gastronomy. From the moment you step in, you're enveloped in a bustling atmosphere filled with incredible sights and aromas. The market truly excels in its fresh produce section, with stalls brimming with an impressive array of colorful fruits and vegetables. It's clear that quality and freshness are paramount, making it a fantastic spot to pick up ingredients for a home-cooked meal or simply enjoy the vibrant display. Inside the main market hall, the offerings become even more enticing. The cheese stalls are a highlight, showcasing an incredible selection of local and regional cheeses. The sheer variety, from soft and creamy to aged and pungent, is a cheese lover's dream, beautifully presented and often adorned with little red flowers, adding to their charm. The knowledgeable vendors are often happy to offer advice and samples. For meat and charcuterie enthusiasts, the market does not disappoint. You'll find an extensive range of sausages, terrines, and other cured meats, alongside fresh cuts, all impeccably displayed and promising high quality. Beyond the raw ingredients, the market also boasts prepared foods that are perfect for a quick bite or a gourmet picnic. The selection of empanadas (both chicken and spinach) and chicken croquettes looked incredibly tempting, offering a delicious and convenient option for lunch. Whether you're a serious foody, a curious traveler, or just looking for high-quality local produce, Marché Victor Hugo is a must-visit in Toulouse. It's not just a market; it's a culinary experience that captures the essence of French food culture.

Interesting architecture, but very expensive produce. I cant imagine this is where the people of Toulouse come for their shopping. I did look like you might have a nice drink with some oysters though. I could imagine the restaurants are worth a stop

This place is a must! As a solo female traveler I felt very welcome at this woman owned establishment! Cannot say enough good things about this bar other than it rivals the top spots in the world’s best bars! You must try the olive martini and anything else the bar team recommends. The Couvent des Jacobins is a remarkable Dominican edifice in Toulouse, known for its Gothic architecture and as the final resting place of Saint Thomas Aquinas. The Eglise des Jacobins boasts ornate stained-glass windows, while the Cloitre des Jacobins features graceful russet-brick columns surrounding a green courtyard.
This is one of the more beautiful sites that we visited in Bath - the stained glass windows are lovely! It was free to visit the church itself with only a 5 Euro charge each to visit the adjacent cloister. Both are recommended and can be toured in about an hour.

The Convent of the Jacobins in Toulouse is a beautiful and peaceful place. The interior is striking, with its elegant brick columns and calm atmosphere. Although the exterior is currently under renovation, it’s still well worth a visit. Built in the 13th century by the Dominican Order, it holds great historical and spiritual significance, especially as the resting place of Saint Thomas Aquinas.
Sofia C — Google review
This is an incredibly beautiful building. It’s worth taking a couple of hours just to enjoy the building aside from anything on display. The exhibitions are incredible and the acoustic for music amazing. The gardens are just so gorgeous. Make sure you allow enough time to visit.
Jacqueline K — Google review
Along with the cathedral, this is a must see in Toulouse. It is five euros for adults to enter, but it is absolutely worth it. With the restoration work that is going on the exterior. The entrance is via the refractory. In here, several of the lunettes have been removed from the walls and are being restored on the ground. The church chapter house and other areas are absolutely fascinating. There are many audiovisual guides which explain some of the amazing architecture and history. It would be very easy to spend an hour to two hours, marveling at this beautiful building.

The Convent of the Jacobins in Toulouse is simply breathtaking .The brick walls feel warm and grounded, while inside, the soaring palm-shaped vault seems to lift your spirit upward. Being there makes me feel both humbled and inspired — a quiet reminder of beauty, history, and serenity all in one space.
Yash V — Google review
Its beautiful, and interesting to visit inside .. The ticket is reduced if you have a student ID then its 3€
Gauri K — Google review
The couvent amazed me with its main church: a row of giant columns supports the vault and divides the space into two parts. Otherwise, the monastery has a traditional structure with an internal garden with arcades.

The convent is one of the most significant examples of Southern French Gothic architecture and the historical heart of the Jacobins (Dominican Order), founded in Toulouse in the early 13th century. Construction began in 1229 and was completed in the 14th century. The convent played a central role in scholarly, preaching, and missionary activities across medieval Europe. It houses the relics of Saint Thomas Aquinas, the Dominican theologian and philosopher, whose remains were transferred here in the 14th century. The name "Jacobins" comes from the common French nickname for the Dominicans during that time. The church’s interior is renowned for its palm tree–shaped vaulted ceiling, where ribbed vaults fan out from slender columns. ※ Included in the Toulouse Pass Tourisme.

French restaurant
Le Genty Magre is a celebrated restaurant in Toulouse, known for its innovative take on traditional French dishes. The owner and chef, Romain Brard, has gained recognition for his hearty and meat-rich cassoulet that has impressed both locals and culinary experts. The restaurant's philosophy revolves around serving a rich and substantial cassoulet featuring pork rind, snouts, and ears from the esteemed Maison Garcia, topped with the famous Toulouse sausage.
Phenomenal cassoulet, well worth the award it won before with a great wine pairing menu along with our foie gras ravioli appetisers. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff and a great owner/chef who chatted with us after the meal. Highly recommended!
Dominic G — Google review
Annoying rule of one main each at least If not for the cassoulet, it would be a 3 star. The pigeon and the duck were not technically well executed at all. Duck was tough and not crispy, Paris-brest was average too Cassoulet is delicious though. Duck leg was crispy, Toulouse sausage was chunky and the sauce was thick as well

Friendly atmosphere, good choice of local wines, their well-known cassoulet. Desserts could have been better, they were too sugary with little taste

Superb food in a relaxed and friendly restaurant. I had the set 3 course for €49 euros, fois gras ravioli with caramelised potatoes was a sublime starter, so much flavour! Then the star of the show, the award winning Cassoulet, rich and creamy without being too heavy. Then dessert, a wonderfully light waffle with chantilly cream, chocolate sauce and pistachio. The wonderfully helpful staff gave great advice on choosing the accompanying 2 glasses of wine and finally an espresso to finish. Cost was ~€65 pre tip.

This was one of the best French meals I have had in France. Everything I ate was excellent. I highly recommend making a reservation and coming to this restaurant. The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You cannot go wrong by booking a dinner here I 100% recommend that you come here for dinner.

I had Cassoulet the first time and I have to say it was work to eat it all, but lovely. The service is so kind, welcoming and warm you feel like you are visiting friends for dinner. Food and wine are all really just great. Better book a table online in advance. We spent 150€ for two with starter and dessert to share and a really good bootle of wine.

One of the finer meals I've had in France and it was worth every cent. I am impressed with how efficient and the friendliness of this establishment with only three people. The chef, an assistant, and the waitress who also works as the greeter. Never a pause but never feeling rushed when asking for recommendations. It is an all hands on deck operation. Short menu and in this case excellent execution. My second time having a Rossini and this place made it better. I like how they modified it for the better. I appreciate how the principal taste wasn't salt and butter. I could have drank the jus, which was fortified with cured pork. They opted to serve it with crusty bread over a crouton and it ate better. Who wants a soggy greasy crouton? The dish was balanced with full on umomi without feeling heavy. Nice sear on the filet and the foie was exquisite. I would have opted for shallots over red onions but oh so minor a preference. I went with the Galliac wine recommendation and it did go well with the beef. A tannic young wine (which I usually don't like), but leave it to France to make anything taste good. The dessert wasn't the star but no complaints with the babba rum cake. I like the fresh fruit addition which seeped into the rum. This place seems to specialize in cassoulet (not my favorite). However, if I were to try it again it would be here with duck confit. Only ten tables so I strongly recommend making a reservation. On this evening no further availability. It is easily done with a link on their website with a credit card hold. Ladies, don't wear heels unless you are a ballerina with excellent insurance. The semi-spiral staircase to the bathroom is steep with small steps.

Modern art museum
Les Abattoirs is a contemporary art museum located in Toulouse, housed in a former 19th-century industrial building that was once a slaughterhouse. The museum's collection boasts over 2,000 artworks including paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photos and installations by renowned artists such as Saura, Tapies, Fontana, Rauschenberg and Duchamp.
This space is incredible, first of all: turning a slaughterhouse into a museum may not be “new” but putting an exhibition in rural life (old and modern, European and African, very conceptual and very tangible) in it was a way to acknowledge the place and celebrate its rebirth. The EROS temporary exhibition upstairs is pretty amazing, I expected something slightly kinky (to be honest: something we have all already seen a million times) but this was very fine and sophisticated eroticism through allegory. Really loved it, entirely worth a visit!

Les Abattoirs is a large and impressive contemporary art museum located in Toulouse. The museum is housed in a former slaughterhouse building, which adds an interesting historical layer to the visit. The transformation of this industrial space into a vibrant cultural center reflects Toulouse’s commitment to preserving its heritage while embracing modern creativity. Inside, the galleries are spacious and thoughtfully curated, with clear signage that helps visitors navigate the diverse exhibitions. The collection features a wide range of contemporary artworks, including paintings, sculptures, and installations by both French and international artists. For lovers of modern art, Les Abattoirs is truly a must-visit, offering an engaging and enriching experience in a unique setting.

This converter building is a superb space for display contemporary art. There was an extensive installation of the work of Mickalene Thomas. Some of this was quite challenging, but a brilliant exhibition for which people were lining up to enter. There are several levels and to see some of the permanent collection you need to go upstairs. Downstairs, you will see an amazing curtain from the Theatre designed by Picasso. There are three lockers into which you can store your bags. A wonderful experience.

Les Abattoirs—literally meaning "The Slaughterhouses"—is Toulouse’s major museum of modern and contemporary art. The building was constructed in the 1820s as the city’s main slaughterhouse and was later transformed into a museum, which officially opened in 2000. The museum focuses on 20th- and 21st-century art, with a collection of around 4,000 works, including paintings, sculptures, photography, video art, and installations. It operates mainly through rotating temporary exhibitions, so the content regularly changes. ※ Included in the Toulouse Pass Tourisme.

The museum itself is very open and easy to navigate. I simply didn't like the current installation at all. There's one theater curtain that was a dual work by Picasso and a contemporary whose name I've already forgotten. There were interactive and video art pieces that are not my preferred style but perhaps other will find their meaning.

It’s worth to visit. A lot of space in the building so you can see everything. But they could have put some words in English along with the French. And don’t try to go to the restaurant! They told me it was all booked this Sunday even if I was just a single person. I found it strange that you can book a table in such a restaurant that is close to the museum.

Such an unexpected delight! Was walking past the place on our way to see the river and saw a few people coming out and decided to explore it. So glad we did! The impressionist paintings were amazing as was the architectural aspects of the structure itself. Very much worth your time.

I want to give this restaurant the highest score as they are just so good at what they're doing. Food was overall very very good with some exceptional dishes in the total meal. The fish specifically was just incredible. Probably best I've had. Service is impeccable they are very good at what they do. It was shown specifically on us because we had many requests and allergy notes that were all noted and taken care of gracefully during the meal, before and after. We thank the team of the restaurant very much for being so welcoming, understanding and caring even though our many requests. We've had a wonderful time and would totally like to recommend the restaurant if you are thinking about it, definitely try it out!

My first meal in Toulouse and I picked this 1 Michelin star restaurant to try. Thankfully I booked it quite last minute as it was a last minute trip and I managed to get a table. The location is on a quiet street near the university but I managed to find it. Managed to arrived a little early and was able to enter the restaurant to get to my seat. The staff there not many were able to speak English so there was one who could speak quite good English and he was the main server to my table for the night. Since I wanted to do a degustation menu for dinner, there were 2 types of menus available. I decided to go ahead with the surprise menu as I wanted to surprise myself and see what the chef would come up with. Throughout the meal, I didn't have the menu and only knew what was in the dish when it was served. Most of the dishes were seafood based which I liked, and some of the dishes were surprising as I have never tried the combination of ingredients before. It was quite refreshing and unique to me that these combination could complement so well and great job to the chef. A truly good meal and nothing to fault about, its 1 star Michelin and yet it doesn't burn a hole in the pocket. Before I left at the door I actually met the chef and got a handshake. A nice way to end the meal and kudos to the entire team!

We had a wonderful evening in September 2025! The food was, of course, excellent, but the service was the best I’ve ever experienced. From the very start, we felt cared for and treated with genuine respect. Everyone had a twinkle in their eye, offered information and answers in a warm and friendly way, and showed great understanding of our limited French — though everyone spoke excellent English. Even three weeks later, I still think back on the experience with gratitude. Monsieur Sarran even came to the tables at the end of the evening, and we were grateful for the opportunity to thank him. What a delightful experience. Thank you!

Amazing experience! I thought it was over rated being it’s a celebrity chef owned restaurant but in fact, it’s reasonably priced for lunch at 75€ for amuse bouche, aperitif, entree, plat, desserts, coffee and inclusive of wine pairing. Drinks are almost never inclusive of lunch menus in haute-cuisine establishments, so this was a good deal. Plates are elevated, even if they do the twist on your favorite bacon and eggs for brunch, as we came for lunch..It was still a pleasant foodie experience. The flavor construction of the dishes are excellent! The location is good, quiet street at the back of the university area and going to Compans-Cafarelli. The car parkings available right in front by the street. Decoration is tasteful and elegant but not stuffy and pretentious. Service is impeccable, servers are professional but not stuck-up or snobbish. The hostess/host were friendly and smiling. Even Michel Sarran himself came to visit every table and I complimented him on giving such a good dining experience. He was nice. Well deserved of a Michelin star. I keep coming back!

Disclaimer: the 4 stars are related to the expectations we have from a Star restaurant and do not have an absolute value. The food, the wine and the service are great. Compared to other restaurants of the same category we missed something. The menu is definitely creative and interesting, but next to some absolutely outstanding courses we also got a couple of dissonant notes in particular regarding the dessert. The wine advices from the sommelier for each plate were absolutely outstanding ( worth 5 stars ).

We visited this restaurant in 2021 and we had a really nice time so decided to go back again but what a terrible disappointment. Each dish was incredibly bland, pretty tasteless and definitely not worth the money. I had a ravioli which was ok but its was drenched in what could only be called vegetable water, it was not seasoned and was very ordinary. They grow their own veg? well the product produced is not great, good ingredients are key to the food tasting excellent . The tomato salad was equally non eventful, the two desserts the blueberry biscuit and peach Breton were bad, my sorbet tasted of water with a hint of blueberry. I finding it harder to trust Michelin guided restaurants as the actual cooking is not living up to the reputation.

Since its conversion in 1974, it has become a pivotal cultural spot in the city, recognized as a historic monument since 1987.
I will go to visit the NEXT EXPOSITION of photos. I have been to ask some information about the library 📚 of the Galerie du Château d'eau. So let's spread the word GO to visit. A very nice 👍 place. About the place: A good place for photography lovers. The exhibition is quite small and takes less than an hour for a visit even if you pay for 2 exhibitions. Hope to see more contents and the storyline behind. Reduced price is 2.5€ for 2 exhibits. About the neighborhood: you will see this tower right after crossing Pont Neuf. I wouldn’t say that I feel the most secure or safe in this neighborhood but it indeed is quite colorful and cute. Better to come before it gets dark.

Compact and atmospheric photography gallery set in an historic water tower at the end of the Pont Neuf. Entrance fee only 4 Euros

Interesting building itself. Entrance per adult was 5 euros. There are 2 galleries, the first is in the main building and where you pay, the second is separate and to the left of the main building. The contents of the exhibition changes and so difficult to access....however what I viewed at my time was low grade and I feel that anyone could find enough photos of similar quality from their own personal album's. The staff were lovely in the main building. Personally I preferred the medical museum across the road which is free and way more interesting. If it's only art you seek...then it's ok and as i say dependant on the artist showing a time.

Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, a 2-runway airport and Airbus test site, offers public transport connections to the city, surrounding region, and Andorra. It is highly regarded by travelers for its efficiency and friendliness of staff. The check-in process is smooth, security procedures are swift yet thorough, and the facilities are modern and clean. While some mention a lack of international flights to certain destinations like Asia, many appreciate the well-managed security queues and helpful staff.
This is the airport of the fourth largest city in France, but it is very spacious, clean and especially the staff here are very professional. In addition, the services are wonderful, you should experience it.

Awful airport. Overall it wouldn’t be bad the security is outdated, unacceptable and unorganized. 4 people hand off their bags at the same que and the staff mixes up the order of the boxes. When checking boxes they couldn’t identify which box belonged to whom. Maybe open 2 ques and then they wouldn’t get confused what belogs to whom. Electronics need to be taken out completely without anyting below. Very strict and specific with the liquid rules, but they don’t explain what can go in which bag. You need to prep 3 bags: makeup, liquids and medication. They don’t consider makeup liquid, but don’t accept cream format medication as medication. After reorganizing 3 times they spilled all of my items to the “dirty” scanning box from the bags without notifying me. Then in the end they wanted to throw out some items that didn’t fit based on their packing into the ziploc. Suprisingly, I could fit all items in the bag. The staff was rude. The gates are far from the stores and restaurants with few seating options. The info boards only show expected departure times, not the delayed. Most of the moving sideways are just decor as they don’t work. Doesn’t look/feel clean.

I have never in my life encountered such a rude airline staff member. It was at the Ryanair desk of Toulouse, France. At around 5 pm on Nov 3, we were trying to finish the visa check and print our boarding pass on B12 desk. When I was speaking to her in a normal tone, she suddenly raised her voice and shouted, “I can’t hear you!” My boyfriend then spoke louder to make sure she could hear clearly, but she still kept a hostile face and attitude. During the visa check, she was completely unprofessional. We are UK students holding eVisas, and each of us has to apply for a separate share code. The codes are unique for each person, but the valid until date is based on our visa expiry date. She looked at our share codes and insisted that because the valid dates were the same, our visas must be fake! She refused to print our boarding passes. We were furious — we explained patiently that as we both have student visas expiring on the same date and applied for our share codes on the same day, of course the valid dates would match. If she had any doubts, she should have contacted her supervisor or the UK authorities instead of making such an ignorant accusation. I can tolerate her rudeness — I’m an educated person with manners and a happy life — but I cannot tolerate her unprofessionalism and stupidity. Because of her, we almost missed our flight. Absolutely unacceptable.
QY X — Google review
The least worst European airport I’ve been to so far. I think the lower ratings might be attributed to the fact that Toulouse is a base for AirBus, so perhaps expectations are higher. But compared to its peers, this airport knocks it out of the park! Clean, efficient and well signposted.
Claire N — Google review
I’m very disappointed by my experience in this airport. Overall it’s very dated and dirty but that’s not my biggest problem. The security agents did not want to hand check my film camera rolls which are extremely sensitive to X-Rays. I’ve traveled around the world and this has never been a problem except in Toulouse we’re the agent assured me it was safe up to 1,600 ISO. It is NOT. The rule is 800 and that’s what I had. I’m extremely disappointed by this as I’ve now likely ruined weeks of work. I won’t travel through this airport again.
Mathieu T — Google review
Please note: This airport has a very unusual definition of liquids that are prohibited on aircrafts. This includes hard cheese, among other things! My recommendation: Pack such foods in opaque packaging so that they do not whet the appetite of security staff. My general recommendation on how to get your souvenirs on board comes as follows. Please note: This recommendation refers to a flat package of cream or cheese, but not to a bottle of wine or spirit which is much more voluminous and thus harder to hide. 1. Understand the security check process: The first step is to scan your luggage. If anything is detected, your luggage will be inspected by hand and with swab tape for truly dangerous substances, as well as by visual inspection. However, detailed information about what to look for is not usually communicated to security at the hand check. This in combination with time pressure under which security operates as they are supposed to get things done in due time is your opportunity. 2. Since something was detected on the scan, security at the manual inspection must also find something. So lay out some bait. Something of little value that you might want to get rid of anyway. For example, unnecessary sunscreen. The bait should not be obvious, but also not too difficult to find. 3. Your gift must be well hidden, for example in a ‘secret compartment’ like the ones found in many cycling or hiking backpacks. It should also be packed in opaque packaging. Because what security can't see won't raise their suspicions. To prevent security from feeling that it is ‘soft’ and therefore containing a slightly higher liquid content, the packaging of your gift should be firm.

Only recommendation is “please make reservation” if you want to sit inside the restaurant and enjoy the painting at the ceiling.

A beautiful restaurant on Capitol Square with a fantastic atmosphere. They have gluten-free bread and a menu with all the allergens marked, but virtually all starters and several main courses can be adapted. The waiter confirmed each dish with the chef. I had the ceviche, simply removing the croutons, stuffed eggs and the Angus steak with a different sauce prepared by the chef. Everything was delicious. They even have several gluten-free desserts. I didn't suffer any reaction at all. Highly recommended.

Out of this world experience. The service, frescos, and atmosphere take you away to another time. I told the server my great great grandfather Jean Catherine Bibent started this restaurant in the late 1800s and it was a dream of mine to visit. He made sure I had the most spectacular experience - from a bright wine that paired well with the coconut ceviche to the signature deviled eggs. Proud to see how well the team and new owners have maintained this establishment and know he would be as well. Merci!

why didn't you let us sit by the window when we asked? they were totally unoccupied. we were curtly told a cold "No." by your young waitress. your wait staff urgently need more training in how to address your diners, especially the young ones who look like they're still studying. food ok, wine selection good. lentils for lunch menu mains were bit basic. your best dish wasn't even made by you but from Xavier fromagerie - his cheeses are godsent divine. tops.

Unique, beautiful and delicious place in dowtown Toulouse. The place itself is captivating, a mid-19 th century restaurant will be enough to have a delicious experience. Food was good as well, it was a great experience, beautiful served and good quality, not remarkabky unique dishes though but not a tourist trap. The place is small though, so it can get a bit noisy as it gets full. Also, the toilets are clean but small and nothing to do with the spactacular dinning room. Service was friendly, but again, as more people arrived it got slow and impersonal.

Good food and atmosphere You will need a booking to get a seat inside the iconic restaurant. We sat outside, but all is still good

Good food set in a beautiful building with a good ambiance. We enjoyed our starters, the scallops were delicious, although I had entrecôte main which was unfortunately tough. In addition we ordered wine and probably wanted a further drink or coffees however after initial service we were left alone so another missed opportunity in terms of additional revenue. All in all a pleasant evening and I would go back but perhaps not chose the steak!

Amazing atmosphere, it feels like you're at a dinner party with the King of France. Menu in french only. The snails🐌 were delicious . Polite and friendly staff. Leek, in my opinion, cannot be a separate dish. It was the first course of menu of the day, but it was awful.

Pierre-Baudis Japanese Garden, nestled in the heart of Toulouse, offers a serene escape with its meticulously designed landscape. This tranquil oasis celebrates the bond between Toulouse and Kyoto, featuring traditional elements like a tea pavilion, stone lanterns, and a koi pond. Visitors can wander along winding paths, admiring carefully pruned plants and finding moments of zen amidst the urban bustle.
I absolutely loved the Pierre-Baudis Japanese Garden. It’s a beautiful space of silence and contemplation—a true little portal to Japan right in the city. A well-deserved visit for anyone looking to relax and soak in peaceful surroundings. I really enjoyed it!

Beautiful gardens. Sometimes quite busy but fun to watch everyone posing on the bridge. Other times very quiet and tranquil.

A wonderful gem in Toulouse. The Japanese garden is done wonderfully and has a little Japanese house which explains the design of the garden. There’s a little bridge with fish in the pond. There’s also a raked zen garden. A tranquil place.

The garden itself is really peaceful and well-kept, with a nice layout that makes it easy to wander around and enjoy the scenery. It didn’t feel too crowded despite being a weekend. Overall, a really pleasant spot to relax for a bit if you’re in the area.

This is a traditional Japanese garden located within Jardin Compans-Caffarelli. Modeled after the gardens of Kyoto, it was created in 1990 and named in honor of Pierre Baudis, the city’s mayor at the time. The garden faithfully recreates key elements of Japanese landscaping, including a red arched bridge, bonsai trees, a sand garden, bamboo groves, stone lanterns, and a koi pond. It offers a serene, exotic retreat within the urban landscape, inviting visitors to enjoy a moment of peace and harmony in the heart of the city.

really enjoyed this little garden only small area is actually Japanese. There is a small pond with Koi fish and turtle which is interesting to see. there's a Japanese building on the on the pond which provides shade and some minimal seating. Be careful as some paths are made out of stone and uneven so better in mind if you're going with elderly however most of them are flat.

Grand Café Le Florida is a lavishly decorated 19th-century venue located near Place du Capitol in Toulouse. It's one of the most popular bars in town, offering French classics, ice creams, and crepes. The bar provides an excellent location for people-watching and enjoying a quick drink while taking in the gorgeous view of the Capitole building. With its vibrant and quirky atmosphere, retro-chic decor, and 'Oh la la!'
Grand Cafe Le Florida is a gem right in the Capitole square! ✨ Lovely spot with fantastic service and surprisingly good value for money. Sitting outside was just perfect for soaking in the Toulouse atmosphere. We enjoyed a great breakfast and I bet lunch would be just as wonderful. Don't let the prime location fool you - it's definitely worth it for the quality and service! 👍

Worst food I’ve ever had in Europe. McDonald’s tastes like a michelline star restaurant compared to the food here. I know these guys have high profit margins because everything is ridiculously expensive but seems like it costs them 2 dollars to make. I ordered a sandwich for 10 euros and when it arrived the bread was soggy and disintegrating from the watered down sauce. I could barely pick it up and I wish I didn’t because it tasted disgusting. I’ll give props to the waiters because they all speak perfect English, but at this point the food is so bad it doesn’t even matter. Never coming here again.

Open late food till 1 pm and drinks till 2 pm when we were there in March. Unoaked Chardonnay was surprisingly good at 5 euro a glass. Sancerre at 8 euro good but not really worth extra. Lively and fun with some good decor features.
Pip C — Google review
The setting is nice, right in front of Capitole, very touristy place. The kitchen stays open until way after 11 pm, which is certainly a plus if you feel hungry that late at night. The offer of dishes and drinks is spot on, they have meat, fish, and seafood, and also they have many of my favourite cocktails, made with REAL FRUIT, not syrups. I loathe paying over 10 euro for a cocktail, only to find out it's made with syrups, instead of real fruit. My colleague and I ate grilled octopus 🐙, we didn't feel it was grilled then at 11 pm, but it was tasty nevertheless and the pre-cooking situation is understandable, as it was considerably late. It was my first time having a meal on those arcades, and I enjoyed it.

A lovely restaurant on Capitol Square with some gluten-free options. However, you should be careful as allergens aren't properly marked on the menu. I ordered the Nicoise salad, which was supposedly suitable, but it came with croutons. They quickly prepared another one for me, but make sure the server notifies the kitchen and confirms that the dishes are safe.

We really enjoyed our visit to Grand Café Le Florida, where we hosted our wedding lunch after our city hall ceremony. The staff were attentive, friendly, and very efficient when it came to serving our large group of guests. The food and drink were both excellent, and the presentation of our wedding cake was very fun (it tasted delicious too). The decorations were beautiful and their skilled pianist, Tom, really made the day special. In the run up to the day Floriane was absolutely amazing. She helped us ensure that all dietary/allergy needs were accommodated, was attentive to details to make sure that our guests had the best experience, and she organized the beautiful decorations. A huge thank you to the team at Grand Café Le Florida for a truly wonderful day!
Victoria L — Google review
This restaurant delivered an extremely disappointing experience, marked by both service incompetence and managerial disrespect. The issues began with drinks served lacking alcohol and staff who were so unfamiliar with the wine inventory that they couldn't take a proper order. When these failures were escalated, the manager was openly dismissive and disrespectful, directly refusing to check or correct the mistakes and indicating they were happy to simply cancel our orders and have us leave. This staggering lack of accountability and professionalism is unacceptable. Customers seeking a pleasant experience are strongly advised to consider going elsewhere.

Sights & Landmarks
Pont Neuf is a historic stone road bridge in Toulouse, completed in 1632, spanning the Garonne river with its seven arches and stretching 722 feet. It's a popular spot for wedding photos due to its romantic setting with the Garonne flowing beneath and the historical architecture providing a picturesque backdrop. The bridge took nearly 90 years to complete, replacing two older bridges that linked the banks of the river.
This is the oldest standing bridge in Toulouse, despite its name meaning "New Bridge." Spanning the Garonne River with seven arches of varying sizes, it was constructed between 1544 and 1632, making it a major engineering feat of its time. The bridge incorporated innovative features such as holes between arches designed to reduce pressure during floods by allowing water to pass through. Also notable is le petit nain rouge (the small red dwarf statue) hidden along the bridge.

Best place in Toulouse city to vist. Must vist tourist place in ntoulosue during sunset 🌇 Hey everyone, planning a trip to Toulouse and looking for the perfect sunset spot? You're in luck, because this city is stunning when the sun goes down! I'd highly recommend checking out the Pont Neuf bridge, especially if you can get there before the golden hour. From there, you get some amazing views of the Garonne river. The buildings of Toulouse, with their brick facades, will glow beautifully in the fading light. Another awesome choice would be the Jardin des Plantes; it's a peaceful place to watch the sunset. You can even grab some takeout food and have a little picnic there! So, make sure to bring your camera and enjoy the show; you won't regret it!

All are so beautiful as sky, environment, river, buildings, road, walking street, cycling path, and so on. The bridge and environment around here are so nice. As you can see in pics without making up the image at all. Yeah, this city is so beautiful as the taken pics. People are friendly and helpful with tourists as my experiences. You will love it. Also, I really love transportation in the city, it is so convenient and easy. The 5 stars are from my impressions and immense love in this city. It has no opinion of my desires in revisiting this city once more time. Lol

The wine selection was simple but high quality. I can't say how pleased I am to finally have the opportunity to eat here since moving to Toulouse during lockdown. Go here, eat, be happy!

Found the restaurant based on various review sites and decided to book it. Not possible online, called and left a message. Was contacted back promptly with an offer of a table a little after I originally requested, which I think is because they weren't seating until 8pm. Wow. What an experience. I did my first university degree in hotel and catering in the 90s and worked for 7 years in restaurants, the highest rated up to two Michelin stars. I think this is right up there in food quality, and is quite possibly the best presentation I have ever seen. Amazing job, can't thank them enough and was not stupidly expensive for haute cuisine. I would say that it is for foodies, and be sure you are in the mood for a food focused experience. If you don't speak French you will need Google translate open. I do speak reasonable French and still needed to look up some words and yet even then still trust the chef, as I was not quite sure of all the detail when ordering, but am seriously, seriously glad we went.

Excellent surprise. We went there for lunch. The set three-course menu was very cheap for the quality. We were offered a sparkling wine as apéritif. The dishes were original, somewhat sophisticated, well presented and really good. This includes the dessert which was very original and wouldn’t be quite able to describe. Highly recommended.
Fabrice B — Google review
Very good semi-gastronomic restaurant for a moderate price. The personel is competent, there is a good wine choice, the dishes are succulent. Dont let the "starter - dish - dessert" standard menu fool you: they are quite copious. The atmosphere is romantic, although it can get quite noisy if many tables are booked. You won't get the 'gastronomic etiquette', but presentation and tastes are at the rendezvous. Would recommend to anyone.

MJ A — Google review
The food was decent, but I expected something more refined and creative from a Michelin one-star restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was truly disappointing. The woman serving our table seemed visibly annoyed—sighing, not smiling, and showing no warmth or professionalism. The restaurant is also extremely inflexible when it comes to dietary restrictions. My wife has a seafood allergy, and their only solution was to remove the seafood from her dish without offering any substitute. Since they serve a surprise tasting menu, you don’t get to see what you’re eating beforehand—and they make no effort to accommodate special requests or allergies. That’s unacceptable at this level of dining. To make matters worse, when I asked for a small box to take home the chocolates we didn’t eat, they told me they had nothing available, claiming their customers “don’t take food home.” I suppose that means I’m not considered a real customer? The chocolates were served on a small, cheap wooden tray, which clearly wasn’t meant for reuse. So I took it with me. To my surprise, about five minutes later, the same server came looking for me on the street to demand the return of the tray—without offering any way for me to take the chocolates home. Shame on them for such poor service and lack of hospitality. This is not the experience one expects from a Michelin-starred restaurant.

This is the worst hotel in Toulouse!! The rooms are old and shabby. Service at 0 level. The air conditioner in the room did not work in the terrible heat. I was not even warned about it. The number was not changed. It's just horrible!!!! Spoiled rest. I categorically do not advise!!!

We had a nice diner here, but nothing exceptional. We went through the 4 courses menu, and we were not disappointed as the food was good, but pretty boring. There was nothing exceptional in anything we ate. It was well cooked and you could feel the technique was here, but that's it. The service was nice, but not up to standard for such a place, e.g., hard to get the attention of the wine guy and get a glass. It made me feel like a regular hotel restaurant, quite bland in the end, with no soul. The place is nice for sure, but the overall experience is overpriced in my humble opinion.
Julien ( — Google review
An exceptional experience in terms of the cooking and organisation of the dishes. Lots of taste sensations - the lobster cassoulet, basil ice cream, and hay-smoked aubergine to give just a few examples! More conventional things done really well too (delicious ceviche)! Wine pairings were clever and unconventional in places. Generous sizes too (for this sort of restaurant) Only very minor negatives - not sure about the bread; our place in the dining room felt a little bit hidden from the action.

If you have money to burn and you’re a foodie, a Michelin star resto will never disappoint. Such as this one. But I’ve been to many Michelin rated restos and the food over all was not mind blowing. The location is great, it’s right next to Place du Capitole, the interior is so modern Contemporary chic, the service is okay could be better, the plating is great and taste is exceptionally good but like I said for a foodie, not mind blowing. A dinner would cost about 100€ per person. By the way, my photos were from exactly 2 years ago, when I first visited the restaurant.

Overall a very nice meal, my wife and I got a voucher for le.jardin de l'opéra. We decided to go for the testing menu and the pairing wine and dish. On the negative side: -Booked for 20.00 and the restaurant wasn't open yet, we had to wait a couple of minutes so some open the door despite the confirmation email. - the lady that greeted us was tense and we didn't feel particularly welcome. But she seems to relax after a will. - didn't wait for my wife to come back from the lady's room before bringing the course. Not accessible at that level. Had to ask to wait, by chance she arrived just in time. - had to ask for a break, the course was coming out very fast. - The testing menu didn't include cheese but still they are trying to sell it to you for 20 euros per person and that a choice of only 3 cheeses. Inacceptable at that level especially with a testing menu. - mistake on the bill, didn't take into consideration the voucher we got as a present. Once again not acceptable at that level. There were only 4 tables in the restaurant all night for 6 waiting staff, can't say that they were overworked. For the positive side: -The menu was fantastic, the win picked for every course was perfect, especially for the chocolate dessert. The sweet breads are unbelievable. Congratulations to the sommelier. - the younger waiting staff was very good, much more relaxed. I would like to point out that I am from a catering background, 20 years in Michelin star restaurants. I can say that I give a fair opinion. Would go back.

Lovely little French restaurant with classic dishes that are beautifully prepared. As a single dinner, I was seated at the bar. The busy waitstaff were attentive and my meal was delicious. A full meal and 2 glasses of wine were reasonably priced for under 65€. So happy I went!

We went to this gorgeous little restaurant in the evening! We are very impressed , firstly the quality of food and the taste is simply outstanding. The main course was brought hot which in my opinion is essential. The veal meat was cooked to perfection. The starter terrine de canard was also delicious . We had ice cold champagne and we loved the cheese at the end and the millefeuille. The service was warm and attentive. This restaurant is impeccable with report quality and price. We want to come here for sure !

I booked a table for one online and missed the quite small print that says all tables for one will sit at the bar. That was my mistake, but I would suggest that when you put in the number of people for the reservation if it is ONE it should flag up a message to say you will not have a table you’ll be sat at a bar.. Let me be clear I solo travel a lot and there are many places where I choose to sit at the counter to eat and these are counters where the stools have backs and are comfortable. There is a ledge to put your feet and you have a table setting already set up that was not the case here. . There were three backless stools on what was basically a service bar so you are sat with your back to the room and a view of a sink and staff making drinks no open Kitchen no heart of the business it felt very unfriendly.. I have corresponded with the restaurant about my frustrations and they’ve made it clear that sitting at the bar has no less value than sitting at the table but I concede that I didn’t have a choice and I know that my experience was less with the view that I had compared to the view that others had in the room, they were part of the room and I was not . That made me feel unwelcome and it’s already not easy walking into a restaurant in a foreign country and asking for a table of one or a reservation for one. The staff were all friendly and smiling and busy the food was really good and great value for the quality. I had seafood ravioli followed by slow cooked lamb which I didn’t eat all of because I was just frustrated so I left. I recommend this restaurant if you are a table of two or more, but if it’s just you, I wouldn’t bother or maybe you book a table for two and sadly you’re eating partner does not turn up .

If you are looking for a place in the center of Toulouse with delicious local cuisine, great service, yet affordable price, you cannot miss this restaurant. I had the 3-course lunch; every dish is rich and unique in flavor and big in portion. Every bite is enjoyable. I don't speak French at all, and the menu on the blackboard is in French, but the staff explained to me in English with patience and smile. I just wish I could stay in Toulouse for a few more days so that I could try other options on the menu.

Outstanding Bistro style restaurant that we visited twice for the great value lunch. 28 euros for 3 courses or 24 euros for two was an excellent price for food of this quality. Some excellent fish and meat with simple but creative accompaniments. The pave of veal was perfectly cooked, as was the daurade. The Tarte Tatin was one of the best we've had. We also enjoyed some delicious wines that were selected by the staff based on our preferences. Would return every time if we came back to Toulouse.

Deli
Nestled in a historic Capitoul residence near the grand 15th-century fireplace, La Cendrée offers a warm and inviting atmosphere just steps from Place Esquirol. This charming restaurant specializes in traditional French cuisine with an Occitan twist, featuring regional specialties from the southwest, including dishes cooked over an open fire. Among its highlights is the renowned cassoulet made with premium meats sourced from Laborie.
When you walk in, you feel like you're entering a boutique grocery. Tons of selections for non-alcoholic beers and spirits by the way. The restaurant itself is very charming and a really well thought out atmosphere. Focal point of the room is definitely the functional fireplace where certain menu items are cooked upon. The food itself is just fantastic though, I went for the cassoulet (which was my first time with that dish) and left very satisfied in what I had. I highly recommend getting this, I can't think of any way I'd improve that dish. Delicious duck, sausage, beans, onion, and more perfectly cooked and presented. Topping on the cake was that everything was fairly priced, and I came away feeling happy with my experience and not light in my wallet. I would say you should estimate about €25 to €35 per person for an entree and around €10 for an appetizer or dessert. Highly recommend!

Nice little place behind their storefront. Great service and seating near their live cooking fire, very cozy. Duck breast cooked on fire had a nice crust, but was a little chewy. The cassoulet was ok, but instead of a duck leg it came with skinless thigh that was tough, but the pork sausage was good. Wines by the glass were excellent and low price.

Made a booking at short notice and they were able to accomodate :-) on arrival, the place looks like a mordern gift shop, but go through to the very spacious rear section and there is an open fire restaurant typical of the region. The food was very good and a decent price. The place just needs to make its mind up about what it is.

Aligot Bar Aligot et Cassoulet Artisanal is a delightful culinary destination that celebrates the rich flavors of Toulouse. Here, you can indulge in the iconic cassoulet, a slow-cooked stew brimming with duck confit, haricot beans, and savory sausages. This hearty dish is not just filling but also embodies the essence of local cuisine, often paired with grated cheese and a glass of robust red wine from nearby vineyards.
First time in Toulouse and we chanced upon this restaurant on Christmas Eve. We went ahead with their signature Duck Aligot and Duck Cassoulet and oh boy they are to die for. The ducks were cooked to perfection and the meat just fell off the bones. I probably wouldnt have ducks anywhere other than the south of France. The Aligot was so creamy and smooth that it just slides down the throat. The cheese flavour complements it so well. This certainly sets our benchmark for Aligot. The Cassoulet was also a standout dish. It is very very flavourful. Everything was singing in my mouth and every bite was just simply amazing. Personally, I would recommend Duck Cassoulet over the Aligot simply because you can get the taste fatigue from it. Having said that, both dishes are equally great and if you have the luxury to try both, DO IT! Prices are fair and you will not walk out feeling half full. Staff were very friendly too and they do speak English.

The food was tasty and didn’t take too long. The service was friendly. They’re pretty busy during meal times so you might want to reserve your table.

Aligot is perfect. My friend and I had good time here. We ate special aligot and sausage Toulousain. For desert we were very surprised by the taste of pistachio cake and macarons violet - both are very flavourful.
Maja — Google review
Charming cafe with Cassoulet and Aligot. I chose the Aligot with a side salad and glass of wine. The food was delivered in time and absolutely amazing. They also offer an extensive dessert menu and that also did not disappoint. This is the type of cafe you hope you are lucky enough to find when you travel, and I did. Anthony Bourdain would approve.

The couple who served us today, they were really kind and helpful. Food was simple but tasteful. Everyone should give a try. We got some desserts to go, also delicious.

We had a nice spanish speaker waitress she was very funny and so focuse on providing great laugh which we loved. She recommended great wine. We accidentle ordered 2 sausage and duck and she spoke up with the manager and got it resolved 🥰 i recommend 100%

We asked for the small cassoulet. 13,5€ It was good to try the typical plate, the dosis is enough for one normal portion. I requested to change tables and they didn’t allow (there were many empty tables…) The food take about 30min to arrive :/ The owner is very nice
Inês L — Google review
I was told when I'm in this as called "pink city" to try a specific dish known as Cassoulet. While I was walking around in Toulouse I popped into the Aligot bar. The owner of this lovely restaurant was very kind and helpful. He recommended me what red wine is a must to drink with delicious cassoulet. It has not only great taste but you get the best price in the city: €11 for a small and €16 for bigger. Enjoy. Don't miss out.

The Basilica of Our Lady of the Daurade, located in Toulouse, has a rich history dating back to a Roman temple. It is home to an 1807 replica of the 15th-century Black Madonna. Situated by the Garonne River, it offers a serene atmosphere and houses the Black Madonna adorned in exquisite garments designed by renowned fashion designers.
Please like and follow. Right on the street stand this gigantic basilique. The entrance from the street makes you wonder if it is worth going in. Don't be fooled. Go through the fees, steps, and doors, and then you will be stunt by the beauty of the basilica. The pictures will explain why I like it. I would highlight the treasure if this gem, it is the black Madonna (Notre Dame). Simply wow. Must visit place.

The Basilique Notre-Dame de la Daurade is a beautiful religious site in Toulouse with a rich history. Originally built in the early Middle Ages, the basilica has undergone several transformations over the centuries, blending Romanesque and Gothic architectural elements. The interior is peaceful and elegantly decorated, making it a wonderful place for reflection and admiration. Its golden statue of the Virgin Mary is a notable highlight, symbolizing the deep spiritual heritage of the city. A must-visit for anyone interested in history and sacred architecture.

We went on a quick visit on Saturday. They were having a service to welcome the new bishop so we sit to listen. The sun was going down so the light inside was beautiful and the windows were projecting rainbows on the walls. The ceiling is just impressive. I really recommend to go pay a visit if you are around. You can easily see why is cold the gold basilica.

This is a beautiful church, such just near the river. You walk into the side entrance and see the rose of the long side nave but when you walk into the middle aisle of the church, it opens up to a huge and spacious area. There’s some wonderful sculptures and beautiful paintings. The ceiling decoration is delicate and lovely. Well worth a visit.

This is a Roman Catholic basilica renowned for its venerated Vierge Noire (Black Madonna), considered the protector of the city. The name "Daurade" comes from the French word for "gilded" or "golden," referencing the original church's golden mosaics. The first church was built in the 5th century in Byzantine style, but after its collapse in the 18th century, it was rebuilt, and by the 19th century, it took on its current Neoclassical appearance. The church was officially granted basilica status in 1879 by Pope Pius IX. From the front of the basilica, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Pont Neuf and the Garonne riverbank.

Impressive basilica with 19th century artworks, these being monumental and sumptuous. A black madonna can be seen too. In a bustling city this place offers the traveller a place of calm and contemplation.

In awe of god and the virgin This was initially the temple of Apollo and converted to Basilique (or church in English) in approximately 410. The entrance is a black door by the side of the road.

Jardin des Plantes is a renowned public park and 18th-century botanic garden in Toulouse. It's a popular free attraction offering visitors the chance to enjoy its lush green spaces, captivating water ponds, and medicinal plant collection. The park spans seven hectares and is located near the Canal de Midi, featuring an array of species including Japanese cypresses. Visitors can stroll through pathways adorned with statues and relax by a charming waterfall.
The path led me through lush greenery, past sparkling fountains, and over charming bridges. Each step offered a new and delightful view, making it a truly memorable walk.

A beautiful park for a relaxing walk. There is a café and a big playground, suitable for kids of all ages. Also some museums are nearby.
Christina P — Google review
What a magical garden😍 Beautiful sculptures, cute animals around (chicken, geese, unique ducks, rats) wonderful waterfall coming out of a rock in between the trees. Cute coffee place at the entry, which was open despite the museum being shut. The mixture of the autumn colour definitely made the experience even better. Make sure to exit through the bridge above the roundabout - I personally thought it was a cool experience to walk above a busy road full of cars on top of this cute bridge with plants with beautiful flowers on the each side of it 🙌🏼

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Parc Jardin des Plantes in Toulouse, and it was nothing short of enchanting. This hidden gem in the heart of the city is a haven for nature enthusiasts and anyone seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted by a lush oasis of greenery. The meticulously maintained gardens are a testament to the dedication and passion of the park's caretakers. Each section of the park offers a different botanical experience, from vibrant flower displays to tranquil ponds with graceful swans. One of the highlights for me was the impressive collection of plant species from around the world. Walking through the various themed gardens, I felt like I had embarked on a global botanical journey. The diversity of flora on display is awe-inspiring and provides a valuable educational experience for visitors of all ages. The park's layout is designed with relaxation in mind. Numerous benches and shaded areas invite you to sit, unwind, and soak in the natural beauty. It's an ideal spot for a picnic, reading a book, or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll. Lovely gardens with space to walk, sit, kids play area or visit one of the café stands. There will be a queue most weekends at the food stands and they're a bit pricey but kind of what you expect I guess
