Came here for the famous “Baurú” and couldn’t be more disappointed.
Let me preface, if a ‘Rusti,’ tavern like ambience, huge portions of so-so food and decent service are what you are aiming for, this is the place for you.
The ambience is sort of old style, very tavern/mom and pop’s restaurant with cloth table service covered by a paper sheet. They definitely aren’t worried about creating an ambience, it seems they expect their name to make up for the lack of any ambience.
The service… I would have given 10 but I absolutely can’t stand when the waitstaff lies to make you purchase more food.
We were a group of four and as we entered we saw people leaving with to-go leftover boxes, and the table behind us with a HUGE dish. I asked the wait staff, there are 3 sizes: 1/4, 1/2 and Full dish. The server explained 1/4 is dor one, 1/2 for two and full dish for 4.
Unless you are a sumo fighter, or on a fattening diet I can’t imagine anyone walking in and eating 1/4 by themselves. 1/4 is good for 2 or even 3 if Light eater, 1/2 is good for 4 and a full dish for 6-8. This made me really mad, not only we paid a lot of money for it but a ton of food just went to waste. NOT COOL.
The food… it’s anything but we’ll seasoned.
It felt more like canned vegetables and cheese (for the vegetarian) and grilled meat and cheese with again, what felt like canned tomatoes for the traditional dish. It lacked flavor, that fresh taste or Italian food… a true disappointment.

Very traditional place with a traditional recipy of "bauru" meet, old Italian way to prepare a beef meet with ham and cheese and souce as on the picture. The place which is full of people which coming back every day for lunch. You can meet the owner at the cash machine, he will thank you for visiting his place. Love this customer service! As aperitiser you will be served with a French bread and olive oil ( gratis). Very recommended!
