The sunset view here is just magical — golden sky, gentle breeze, and the sound of waves make it a perfect place to unwind after a busy day. There are plenty of food stalls nearby serving delicious local snacks like kallummakkaya, ice orathi, and bajji. The walkway is clean, and you can also enjoy a calm evening stroll with friends or family. A must-visit place if you’re in Calicut! ❤️

Visited on rainy afternoon during monsoon season recently, in June. The beach waves were stunning and weather was bang on! The water can be scary for some and hence it’s better to be cautious before taking kids along. We had a lovely time though we couldn’t stay for too long as the beach had dirt on the borders else, no complaints

Our visit was on a rainy and windy afternoon so we could not spend much time. However we have been to the beach at different times and spend time. We enjoy the gigantic waves and the cool breeze. It is a beautiful beach and keep it clean as some areas were not. Sunsets and sunrise are amazing 🤩

Must-Visit Spot in Kozhikode! Visited Kozhikode Beach recently — it’s a wonderful experience! The morning is peaceful and calm with very few crowds, perfect for a relaxing walk. In the evening, it gets quite crowded, but the lively atmosphere adds to the charm. The beach is moderately maintained and suitable for everyone — families, friends, or solo visitors. Loved the newly installed shops, which are clean and hygienic. A great spot to enjoy the sea breeze and local vibes! 🌊✨

I visited Kozhikode Beach early in the morning around 6 a.m. The place was full of life...many people were out for exercise, walking, sitting, and relaxing. Near the park area, some were practicing martial arts, others were playing football, and quite a few were just enjoying watching the activities. The atmosphere is vibrant and it’s a good spot to spend time. However, the beach is not at all hygienic. It is quite polluted, lacks proper walking paths, and is poorly maintained. With better cleanliness and care, Kozhikode Beach could truly become an excellent attraction for locals and visitors alike.

It is one among the most beautiful, peaceful, and cleanest beaches in Kerala, while you are in the city you must visit the beach in the evening, you can enjoy a wide variety of Kozhikode's flavour and enjoy the waves. It is maintained well by the corporation and vibe at the beach is mesmerising. Also the local food available in the small shops around the beach is also flavourful.

Sarovaram Biopark is a peaceful spot right in the middle of the city, perfect for a quick escape into nature. It’s a great place for a morning walk, especially since it’s not too crowded if you go early. The entrance fee is very cheap compared to the refreshing experience you get. The walking trail loops around a beautiful lake, with lots of native tropical trees and birds to see along the way. The walk by the stream is especially nice and relaxing. The park is scenic and well-maintained, with lush greenery and a calm atmosphere. There’s a walkway perfect for morning jogs or evening strolls, with benches to sit and enjoy the view. It’s popular with couples, especially in the afternoon, but it’s also a nice spot for families. However, there are a few things to keep in mind if you’re visiting with kids. There’s a play area for children, but it’s not well-maintained. Also, there are no proper feeding rooms or good restrooms, which might be inconvenient for families. It’s best to carry your own water and snacks, as there aren’t many options available inside the park.

Very good mini forest like place but poorly maintained, from what all we can see now, the place had all the great facilities at the opening time which now had run down due to poor maintenance. The forest area has been littered very badly. Parks, auditorium, amenity centre, all are now closed. The small river in front is polluted too. Neglecting all these odds, we can have a good walk through the forest over the stone paved way which is quite mind pleasing. Entry fees is 20.

When you enter the middle of the park-The air is fresh, the surroundings are well maintained, and the entry fee is just ₹20—very affordable. There is an area that allows children's play area with few amnesties and entry is limited only for children with parents. **However, the park is not very family-friendly. Many couples occupy nearly every area, often engaging in public displays of affection, which can make it uncomfortable for families or solo visitors looking to relax or walk around peacefully.** **Another major issue is the water body in front of the park, which is filled with waste and emits a strong, unpleasant smell. It’s a shame because it affects the overall experience. This area definitely needs better maintenance to preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the space."**

Its a perfect place to catch up with nature. Beautiful places and small forests makes that place very cool and serene. There are small huts in between the park is safe from the rain. There is a very beautiful amphitheater. In total this park gives a very experience with nature. Most underrated place in the middle of the city of literature. We can read, write, meditate and do whatever you want to keep your mind calm. Its a must go place!

Sarovaram Park has a lot of natural beauty and potential, but unfortunately, it is not well-maintained. Many areas seem neglected, and it’s not recommended for kids due to broken structures, lack of safety, and poor cleanliness. 📝 Verdict: Calm place for a short visit, but overall needs urgent maintenance and is not suitable for children.

Sarovaram Biopark in Kozhikode is a refreshing urban oasis nestled alongside Canoly Canal, covering around 200 acres of conserved wetlands and mangrove forests . As one of India’s 27 identified wetlands, it plays a vital role in protecting biodiversity—harboring seven mangrove species, 29 associated plant species, and around 34 varieties of birds . My visit left me impressed by how seamlessly environmental conservation meets leisurely appeal. Scenic walkways and well-manicured trails wind through bamboo groves and wetlands, ideal for early morning jogs or peaceful evening strolls (). Aboard a pedal boat, I glided through calm waters, with kingfishers, herons, and egrets occasionally flashing by—a delight for bird watchers (). The park is more than natural beauty—it features thoughtfully designed attractions such as a butterfly garden, otter park, children’s play area, open-air amphitheatre, musical fountain, and even an aquarium . These enrich the experience, making the park well-suited for all age groups from families to college groups. However, maintenance could improve—some wooden bridges and signage appear weathered, and minimal litter was seen along the canal edge . A recent ₹2.19 crore renovation is underway, aiming to restore bridges, play zones, gym areas, and the open-air theater . In all, Sarovaram is a serene escape in Kozhikode—a harmonious blend of ecological importance and family-friendly leisure. Ideal for nature lovers, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a calm retreat within the city.

It's a quiet place within the city. It would have been better if they could open the park to the public by 7 am, instead of 9. If you reach early, the guards will not let you sit on the benches outside the park while you wait. I don't understand why Calicut District Tourism Promotion Council is not looking into such an important aspect...

Regional Science and Planetarium is a science park with many exhibits as dinosaur display, Planetarium and playgrounds, located near Kozhikode stand, Kerala. It's offers an existing mix of astronomy, interactive exhibits and science explorations. There has a 3 D show of lunar missions. It is an immersive experience allows you to explore the mysterious of universe, yourself captivating world of science and space. A good and clean aquarium where you can marvel at the divers marine life. Also a well stocked library and the Planetarium where every corner offers a new discovery. A good destination for science lovers, students and families. Washroom facilities including handicap toilet available. Spacious parking space and a good cafeteria inside the premise.

The experience was fun and educational, and the 3d film is suitable mostly for kids as its an animated film, but the planetarium show was a very immersive experience for both adults and children. There are 5 sections u can visit with the astronomy section being the newest addition. Personally loved the science and magic mirror sections, especially for kids but they could keep it more maintained as some of the exhibits in the science section were not working, same with some of the exhibits in the open park area. Overall it was a fun experience and would rate it 8.5/10. Best to visit during summer as during rainy season it can get muddy and messy.

Regionel Science is an excellence science centre at Kozhikkode District in Kerala. Those who have not seen the planetarium in Jafarkhan Colony, Kozhikode, must definitely visit it. Those who have seen it go back again and again every year. It is so attractive there. You can see many scientific truths, scientific principles and scientific ideas worth learning there. From high school level and above, officials and ordinary people, there is plenty to enjoy, relax and see and understand things that will cool the mind. There are many facilities to play in the park there. There is a 3D show here, a 10-minute 3D show. We can enjoy many interesting and funny things in 3D with our eyes closed. Similarly, in the planetarium, many celestial views are described there for twenty minutes in a way that is worth learning. Planets, stars, the solar system and many other things are explained to us clearly there. We can enjoy a good celestial view while sitting in an easy chair in an AC room. If you pay Rs. 90 per person for a ticket, you can enjoy all the above happily.

Regional Science Center and Planetarium in the City of Kozhikode consists of many valuable knowledge for general public. The Planetarium show, 3D Show etc are really enjoyable and we get valuable insights into the Science field in simple terms. A Rocket model of ISRO is installed in front of the entrance, as depicted in the picture attatched. Planetarium show was really good, spanning around 40 minutes. 3D show was more of a little bit cartoonish but great.

I Visited This With My Family & It Was A Pleasent Experience. Haven't Seen Much Birds On The Way, But Had A Lovely Atmosphere With Mangrove Forest In Real. During My Time Of Visit ( August ) There Was Heavy Rain & Infact Down Pour So It Was A Great Experience With Rain & Breeze. Actually It's A 1Hour But Due To Heavy Wind We Halted Near Mangrove & Ended The Trip With Almost 2 Hours. You Will Go Under Railway Bridge & Watching Out Vande Bharat Express Plying Over The Bridge Was Lovely View 😻😻😻😻 The Price Is also & Staffs Are Damn Good, And With Go Ready To Click Pics With Mangrove Trees 👏👏👏 Must Visit With Your Family / Friends.

Visited Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary last week. It’s a peaceful and scenic place surrounded by backwaters and mangroves, offering a calm escape from the city. Although we didn’t spot many birds since the migration season starts around November (as the locals mentioned), it was still a relaxing experience walking around and enjoying the natural beauty. Would love to visit again during the migration months to see the sanctuary in its full glory. A good spot for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone who enjoys quiet surroundings.

I visited the bird sanctuary with my family, and it was a refreshing experience. The place is naturally very beautiful, with calm surroundings and plenty of greenery that makes it perfect for spending peaceful time close to nature. We didn’t get to see many birds during our visit, only a few here and there, which was a bit disappointing. I think the number of birds depends on the season and the time of day you visit. One of the best parts of our trip was the boat ride through the mangroves. The ride itself was very relaxing and scenic. The boatman was extremely friendly and knowledgeable – he explained about the mangroves, different plants, and the natural surroundings. Overall, it’s a lovely place to connect with nature, take photographs, and enjoy a calm outing with family or friends. If you’re visiting mainly for bird watching, you may or may not get to see many birds, but the beauty of the sanctuary and the boat ride through the mangroves are definitely worth it.

One if the most beautiful boating places in Kozhikode. The migratory birds normally arrives from November and stays till March. The mangrove forest is lush green and the boating gives such a refreshing exoerience. Rs 1000/- is the rates per hour for boating and a boat can carry maximum 10 persons. Apart from boating, there is nothing else, still they charge 20/- Rupees, even if you don"t want to do boating. So if you are not planning for boating, do not buy entry tickets.

It was a nice experience boating with your family. The boatman was very friendly and told us the history of the mangroves and explained about the different types of mangrove trees.

Absolutely loved visiting the Malabar Botanical Garden.. The serene atmosphere, lush greenery, and variety of plant species made for a wonderful experience. The children's park is also good.. The staff is very kind and helpful.. A must visit for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility... Highly recommended.. The only disadvantage is the road to garden, the road is really pathetic..

I really loved ❤️ this Malabar Botanical Garden. A nature lover 🌴🌳will really like this place. This place also includes an Institute of Plant Science🔬 so a curious learner can also find so many things to learn. Recently, I attended a workshop 👩‍🔬 here on Plant Molecular Systematic 🧬 from 18-22 Aug 2025, which was very much informative. There are various researches going on in the field of Taxonomy, Biotechnology and other fields. Other than these activities this place is so beautiful 😍, organised and well maintained. There are so many nurseries and gardens 🏞️ of various plants. You should must visit this place if you ever go to the Kozhikode or Calicut in Kerala. Located in the outsirts of the city, this huge garden spanning an area of over 40 acres provides a very naturally refreshing time. The garden is neatly kept and is a very calm place. Entry fee is Rs. 50 for adults. Small cafeteria, seats, water, and washrooms available inside. Never gets tired walking through the garden as the places remains naturally cool under the tree branch roofs. A nice place to relax with family away from the hustles and bustles of the city.

There are resting places and washrooms within. The road to the place isn't quite welcoming, which is the only challenge anyone could possibly face. Beautiful calm and silent place must visit early morning or evening time

The place is located near to Vengali. It is a beautiful spot away from the rush of city and is a perfect spot for spending some quality time with family and friends. It is also one of the least explored areas in Kozhikode, so there is no much crowd here. Even though the park gives a peaceful atmosphere it is not well maintained. There is a floating bridge which benches. The river have mangrove islands. No boat service was there. It is a good spot to click pics 📷.

Vengalam boat jetty is located just about 1 km away from the Kozhikode-elathur road, under the railway bridge. The place us located in a calm and quiet place away from the city. In fact it is a bit too eery here. The park itself is not that well maintained. The jetty built into the backwaters is a good place for photos. Late evening will be the best time to visit. The breeze we get here is so refreshing.

Such a beautiful place at Kozhikode in Elathur This is like a secret place because nobody knows about it much. Therefore there is a very few amount of people visiting here. But the place is wonderful and the floating bridge will give you such nice experience. The place will give you such nice view of the river and privacy is the important thing here If you visit here for once then you will definitely come back

Jetty Road river bed is one of the calm and quiet place with full of natural beauty surrounding. Now some environmental development is under process.As a part of that,recently a road path has been constructed to the Navy boating house.This road path can be used for the morning and evening jogging.and this is such a place where you can encompasses body,mind and soul. Jetty park,Vengali is a park in Kozhikode District. Jetty park,Vengali is situated nearby to Calicut Boat Club,Vengali, and close to Navachetana Library. You can reach there by taking a left turn at vengali in Kannur - Kozhikode NH. It is a peaceful and beautiful place. You can sit and enjoy the evenings and kids can play in the small park arranged there. The park is lacking proper maintenance and cleaning. The space is offering free entry. And there is a floating bridge in to the river. Good place for relaxing in the evening and for boating and kayaking.

Its a small children park named after Vagbhadananda Swami situated just opposite to the main entrance of Government Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital, Karaparamba, Kozhikode. Mananchira tank is a man-made large fresh water rectangular tank located in the middle of the city. The pond gets its name from Manan or Mana Vikraman, the coronation name of the Zamorin Rulers. This is a pretty large area that once housed a fort but has now been converted into a lawn and park  alongside a tank, whose water is a major source of drinking. The pond itself is surrounded by green lawns fenced with laterite sculpted walls and has colonial design inspired lamp posts and there is a musical fountain here as well. The meticulously landscaped lawns in the park have traditional Kerala style buildings all around that gives this place an old world  charm. There is a public library close to the square with an impressive collection of books across various disciplines. This is where you can catch up with locals who can let you in on some interesting trivia on Calicut as well.

Beautiful place

The pond is situated adjacent to Ansari Park for children. It is a well-maintained pond that has been recently renovated. There are steps leading to the pond, all made of Laterite stone (vettu kallu). According to history, the pond was initially built by the Samoothiri for bathing purposes. Later, it was used as a drinking water source by Tipu Sultan, and it continues to serve this purpose today. Interestingly, it is said that stones from this pond were used to build two palaces on either side of it. The name originates from the ruler Mahadevan Samoothiri, as 'Mana-vedan Chira' (pond), which later evolved into 'Mana-an-Chira'.

There isn't much to do here. Onky 1.8 km forest walk. Going near the river is not allowed. Entry fee is 40 per head. I visited on april 17th and it was really hot. Im puttung 3 star because whoever visiting here comes because they watched some reel should knkw the reality.

Really nice road until the forest with incredible butterfly diversity. The forest itself was a bit underwhelming because of the weather getting cloudy by the time we got there. Staff were friendly and accommodating. No restaurants immediately nearby. Although water and basic refreshments are available.

Palce to walk through the forest. There is no other activities there. people who like the beuty of nature definitely love this spot.almost 1.8 km to walk inside the forest.there is entry fee .

Pamban Bridge was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve had. This famous sea bridge connects Rameswaram to mainland India. It is not only a great piece of engineering but also a beautiful place to enjoy nature. When the train moved slowly across the bridge, I could see the wide blue sea on both sides. It was a wonderful sight. The fresh sea breeze touched my face, and I could hear the soft sound of the waves. Sometimes, I could also see small fishing boats moving in the water below. Everything felt calm and peaceful. The best time to enjoy the view is during sunrise or sunset. The sky and sea change colors, and it looks like a painting. It is a great spot for photography, relaxing, and spending quiet time. If you're lucky, you might see the bridge open to let a ship pass. That is a special moment to witness. I would highly recommend visiting Pamban Bridge to anyone who loves nature, travel, and peaceful places. It’s an experience that stays with you for a long time.

(30-1-2021) It's a 131-hectare forest located 7 km from Kuttiyadi, within the Kuttiyadi range of the Kozhikode forest division. The area is known for its biodiversity, including various bird species like hornbills and gray jungle fowl, and a rich variety of plants. The Chavaramuzhi River

The Janaki forest is for one who want a forest walk experience. A peaceful place to walk and view the gaint trees, nearby there is a river entry to which is restricted. But one can enjoy the scenery there. There is entry fees at the entrance, no specific parking place. At the end of the forest there is temple, one can visit there also. Guards will be there inside the forest. Toilet facility is available . At the opposite of the park there is small tea stall and resort also.

Not much to see. A 1 km walk way through woods and a river nearby. Good calm places for couples. One can enjoy greenery but not much more.

A very calm place. You cannot park vehicle nearbye, so need to walk along the narrow road shoulders to reach here. Its completely green now and the land will get flooded during heavy rainfall.

Its a wonderful place for evening times. A total of 57 species of birds, belonging to 16 families were recorded from the area . Among them 17 species are migrants. Highest number of birds was recorded in the month of January and the lowest was observed June. Little Egret, Little Cormorant, Purple Moorhen, Purple Heron, Black-crowned Night-Heron, Indian Pond-Heron, Little Grebe, Lesser Whistling-Duck, River Tern, Whiskered Tern, Garganey etc. were the most abundant resident and migrant species found in the Mavoor wetlands. Its a Nice place for time pass and photography.

Good place for spending evening leisure times. Hub for a lot of immigrant birds, lots of fishing spots with great verity of fishes.

It's a beautiful place to go. I occasionally go here in the evening. Not so crowded. Totally worth it.

A place for spare Leisure time. Lot of status are here. Bamboo trees make greens every were. Visiters benches are here. We get good air and calm. This park is situated heart of the city. #ansariparkkozikode

Most of the children rides are damaged.. No waste bin.. But its a nice place to rest and bring kids. Opening only after 2pm.. Why its not open at morning?

Ansari park is best park to visit if you have some time to spend in here. If you visit mittai theruvu or nearby places, you can visit here also.... i loved the park... its not worth coming here all alone.... but we will feel better, the place is cool and comfy.. Joy comes from places you least expect it. It's usually the simple things, like going through Ansari Park when the blossoms are blooming..... You can go to nearby SM Street and have a nice shopping time too Anyway Parks and protected public lands are proven to improve water quality, protect groundwater, prevent flooding, improve the quality of the air we breathe, provide vegetative buffers to development, produce habitat for wildlife, and provide a place for children and families to connect with nature and recreate outdoors

Best place to spend time with friends & family in the heart of Calicut city which is very clean, tidy & well maintained. The park is a bit crowded during the peak hours of weekends. Have street vendors inside and outside the park. Have a beautiful pond which is very clean. There’s no parking area for park,so finding a parking spot in the peak hours is a task.
