Kawasan Ekowisata Gunung Api Purba Nglanggeran is a captivating destination located in the Yogyakarta Special Region of Indonesia. The primeval volcano, which ceased its activity millions of years ago, offers visitors the opportunity to embark on an hour-long climb to its peak, where they can witness breathtaking sunrise views and admire the surrounding natural beauty.
Around 70million yeras old ancient volcano. Perfect spot for camping, short hiking, sightseeing the land of jogjakarta from top of the view. Fascinating history. UNESCO heritage.

What a nice place for basic hikers. Its only 700 mdpl. I suggested you to come here for practice before hiking to the highest level.
Katsummi M — Google review
Amazing hike! Heavy because of the heat, although doable for fit people. You can buy water in the little shop near the entrance! The entrance fee is 30k for foreigners. The path is very well maintained with signs, ladders with are bolted to the rocks, paths. Just be careful and you'll manage it and don't go up when it's raining or about to rain. Also super friendly people working there who explained us everything. There are multiple viewpoints and rest stops on the way to the top so even a half climb is worth it. Take 1,5h to reach the top (gunung Api) and 300m elevation. You come back down a completely different path, around 30min. So one way up and one way down because there are some narrow passages. We took a grab here (+- 1 hour) from yogya and took a different grab back. It can be tricky to find a grab back but we managed to get one within 15min. All in all, a really well spent afternoon.
Jorne W — Google review
Wonderful mountain and view, especially its sunset. The track is moderate with high cliff on the left and right. There are two narrow tracks that is dark although at midday. At the top, we can see Merapi and Merbabu mountains if the weather is clear. Also, we can find some hand-made wooden tracks.
WahanaGo — Google review
Great place for a light walk and hike! Located near Yogyakarta city, easy to park and pay for entrance on the spot, and you're free to hike on your own pace! The hiking path is moderately steep, some parts are consisting of narrow path between giant rock walls and metal stairs, providing a fun challenge, even for kids and parents. The summit area is an open space with a great view! There are also several open spots to enjoy the view, especially when you are not planning to go all the way to the top.
Theodorus P — Google review
They put signs, so it's easy to climb up to the mountain. I got the 4G signals at the peak (telkomsel) 😀.
Eunike D — Google review
Be sure to be in good fitness for the hike up, and careful not to wear any loose fitting hats as the winds blow strong at the top. And the company of monkeys patroling the top are quite aggressive, so be wary of that.Otherwise, great view and cool winds.

Bus station
Terminal Giwangan is easily accessible by public transportation from Yogyakarta. You can take a bus to the terminal and then transfer to another bus heading to Wonosari, getting off at the Grogol intersection. From there, you can opt for an Ojek (taxibike) to reach your destination.
One of the major bus terminals in the Central Java area, as a transit to the west, to the city of Magelang and Cilacap, or north and east direction, to the city of Solo, Semarang, even to Madiun and Surabaya. The existence of a conventional taxi is still there, so it must be a bit far out of the area to order an online taxi. Cleanliness of the terminal is poorly maintained.
Cak A — Google review
The first time I go to this place, I think it's not good. I think it's so small. The second time I visit here to go back, yayaya I must go around this bus station to find the bus that I want. Information service is less here, so for traveller like me maybe it will be the last time I visit that. Not recommended. In this bus station available trans jogja, so it make you easier to explore jogja of course with cheaper fee.
Prita A — Google review
Central bus station of Jogja. Despite this bus station is big, it seems this place is lack of good management. The station is very dirty, many palces do not have enough lights an no clear signage. I personally dificult to find the proper exit after my bus drop me off in this station. Considering Jogja is one of Indonesia's international tourism destinations, this bus stop does not reflect the image. Note: Umbularjo Bus Station (former central bus station of Jogja) at that time many ways better this Giwangan station.
Ardi S — Google review
This is the biggest and busiest bus station in Yogyakarta. Has a large area, but it's poorly maintained. there are some spots that are dirty and not cleaned, as well as lack of lighting in some areas. There are many food inside the station.
Abee S — Google review
Are there no cleaning service? The waiting room is very dirty. And there is no ATM if you need some cash.
Ahmad F — Google review
Worst bus station ,sultan you have to check this
Sweet T — Google review
I don't know much about this terminal, this terminal one of most busy terminal ever in Yogyakarta. Almost every bus will be transit to this terminal.
Wica G — Google review
Cleanliness of this bus station is just bottom notch. Tips from me for foreigner, don't trust anyone (expect bus crew and official ticket agent)... Because there are many fake ticket agents).. Especially if you want to go to Bali or Nusa Tenggara..

Nestled in the picturesque region of Gunungkidul, Goa Pindul is a captivating destination located in Bejiharjo Village, Karangmojo District. This enchanting cave is renowned for its stunning stalactites and stalagmites, making it a must-visit for nature lovers. One of the most popular activities here is tubing—an exhilarating experience where visitors float through the underground river on rubber tires or inflatable rings.
majestic piece of nature. great tour-guide explains many things we haven't tought would want to know about. got the chance to visit in not very peak season of tourism, so the visit were great, no crowd, and very safe adventure into the cave. great place, great experience, would very much recomend this place.
Indro T — Google review
If you are looking for a day full of fun activities with your family and enjoy nature, this is the right place to go. You can experience a one hour off-road tour with jeep in the surrounding, visit the Goa and at last do a river tour with big buoys. The whole program last about 4 hours and not much empty time, except from time to time having some rest with drinks and snacks. Also a high thumb to the staff there who are really helping and professional.

(Translated by Google) I was here yesterday 21 September 2024, if you want to come here I suggest making a reservation first with the most trusted admin because there are lots of brokers during the trip and different prices can be more expensive than the original price. I made a reservation yesterday with Kang Santo 2 weeks before coming here, you have to pay 30%, I came here yesterday to try the Pindul Cave tour, htm, it's only 40 thousand, there are also other tour packages, but I really only intend to take the Pindul Cave tour. I came here with a group of around 15 people and 2 small children aged 1.5 years and 3 years, I got 2 tour guides besides the small children. The trip to Pindul Cave was on foot, it was really hot, sorry, the soles of my feet felt like they were blistered, walking on the ground was really hot, especially without wearing footwear, so next time I come here, it's better to wear sandals so my feet don't pop, wow. It's really fun playing with the water here, enjoying the natural atmosphere of the cave, here you can also learn about the history because it is explained by the tour guide. The journey is deeper into the darkness, for those who bring small children, you must bring a flashlight so that the children are not afraid. Here you can also swim after exploring the cave and you can also jump from the cliff (safe). Next time come here and try Oyo rafting too hihi!!! (Original) aku kemarin kesini 21 Sept 2024, klo mau kesini aku saranin reservasi dulu di admin yg paling terpercaya karena bnyk calo saat perjalanan dan harga beda bisa lebih mahal dibanding harga yg asli. aku kemarin reservasi dgn kang santo h-2 minggu sebelum kesini wajib dp 30% yaa, aku kemarin kesini nyobain wisata goa pindul htm nya cuma 40ribu, ada juga paket wisata yg lainnya kok, cuma aku emang niat ambil wisata goa pindul aja. aku kesini bersama rombongan sekitar 15 orang dan 2 anak kecil umur 1,5thn dan 3thn, dpt tour guide 2 disamping anak kecil². trip menuju goa pindul nya jalan kaki biyuhhh panas nya minta ampun telapak kaki rasanya melepuh, jalan diatas tanah yg sangat panas bgtt apalagi ga pakai alas kaki, jadi pengalaman sih lain kali klo kesini mending pakai sendal biar ga meloncot tuh kaki wkwk. seruu bgtt sih mainan air disini menikmati suasana gua yg masih alami, disini juga bisa mempelajari sejarahnya karena memang dijelaskan sama tour guide nya. perjalanan nya lebih masuk kedalam lebih gelap, buat yg bawa anak kecil wajib bawa senter yaa biar anaknya ngga takut. disini juga bisa renang setelah menelusuri gua dan bisa juga terjun dari tebing (aman). next kesini cobain rafting oyo nya juga hihi!!!

(Translated by Google) Late review ya : I actually went to Goa Pindul a long time ago in November 2019 with a group of friends from the Sukabumi City Agriculture Service. Well, just today, Sunday, June 8, 2025, I remembered that I had visited and toured Goa Pindul Yogyakarta. A natural cave with limestone stalactite rocks, including a simple and not too long cave, inside there is a water flow that can be utilized by visitors using used truck/bus tires to explore the cave. These tires are rented to visitors.,, I just forgot how much the rental price used to be. I myself did not go into the cave...due to my unfit body...I only took photo spots outside the cave. However, I still keep the photos of my friends in the cave until now. Outside the cave there are also food and drink stalls/stalls, there is a prayer room and a shop selling various knick-knacks, t-shirts, hats, etc. that are written with Goa Pindul Cheap and good t-shirts and hats, friends.

(Translated by Google) In my opinion, watching the sunrise here is better and more comfortable because it's still quiet, not as scary as Mangunan haha Access here is also good, the place is via the village road, when you want to get to the location, it's only 100m to the parking lot, the road is still rocky. HTM 3 thousand for cleaning management, 2k parking, there is a toilet too, but there is no prayer room yet, still working on it, said the boss who is guarding it I suggest you bring food and drink because no one is selling it😂 don't forget to throw the rubbish away or take it home Dr Stonepark looks like his umbrella stone I happened to get there at half past 6 because my friend couldn't read GMAP 😂 Dr Klaten at 4 or less It's true that slowly, after going up and down, it's already blocked because of the fog and there are lots of trees on either side, so it's still evening. Feels like an adrenaline test 🤣 maybe if you go via Mangunan it's not like that because usually there are lots of people and there are still lots of people's houses, I went via Imogiri hh (Original) Menurut ku liat sunrise disini lebih bagus nyaman karna masih sepi gak serame Mangunan haha Akses ke sini juga bagustempat nya nglewati jalan desa, pas mau menuju lokasi paling hanya 100m menuju parkiran jalan masih tanah batu HTM 3rb buat pengelolaan kebersihan, parkir 2k,ada toilet nya juga ,tp blm ada mushola, masih diusahakan kata bpk nya yg jaga Aku saranin bawa makan minum karna gk ada yg jual😂 sampah nya jgn lupa dibuang pada tempat nya atau dibawa pulang Dr stonepark kelihatan watu payung nya Kebetulan sampe sana jm setengah 6 karna teman saya gk bisa bca gmap 😂 Dr Klaten jm 4kurang Emang pelan2pas sdh jln naik turun an udh di bntul soalnya kabut dan kanan kirinya kan banyak pohon-pohon jd msh petang Serasa uji adrenalin 🤣 mungkin kalo lewat Mangunan enggak begitu karna biasanya banyak barengan nya dan msh banyak rumah penduduk, saya lewat Imogiri hh

As one of the people who learned about rocks in college, I really like visiting this location. The big rocks were shown up in the surface with beautiful color gradation and shapes. The local government successfully created this outcrop to be one of the tourism destination closed to Yogyakarta. It took me around 50 minutes driving here using a motorcycle. In the big rock, they also modified it so we could go to the top of the outcrop. They created a stair that let us go to the top of the outcrop. Not only the stairs, but we would find the top part is filled with many places to take pictures as well as the supported equipment, such as the love signs as background, tea pot as accessories and many others. You could go here with friends or family. Recommended place to visit.

Embung Nglanggeran is a man-made lake located on the slope of the ancient volcano Gunung Api Purba. It’s not only used for irrigation, but also a great place to enjoy nature and fresh air. The panoramic view of the lush green valley and serene lake that can be seen from the top of the hill is truly breathtaking. The trek to the hilltop is a bit challenging, but it is worth it for the stunning scenery that awaits. Whether it's for a quick day trip or an extended stay, Embung Nglanggeran is a must-visit destination for those seeking relaxation and natural beauty.

This reservoir is located just south of the ancient Nglanggeran mountain. From this location you get a better view of the mountain range. There are a few traditional food stalls (warung) but most were closed during the Ramadhan. A number of strategically located gazebos for resting and photo spots are provided for the visitors. Best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon, it gets really hot during mid-day.

Nice view. I recommend you guys to visited this place for sunset. I been there during the day. It was no much people and very hot. Just 5 persons including me. I'm really enjoyed the view of Gunung Api Purba Nglangeran from here. The entrance only 12.000 / person including parking fee. There's toilet, local Warung and good parking area.

Drini Park is a vibrant destination that welcomes visitors every day, with varying hours depending on the day of the week. On weekdays, it opens from 9 AM to 6 PM, while on weekends and public holidays, you can enjoy its offerings starting at 8 AM. This park is particularly popular during long holidays when families flock to experience its attractions like the skyride or simply capture stunning photos against the backdrop of Drini Beach—renowned as one of Central Java's most picturesque beaches.
The beautiful scenery of Drini is absolutely awesome! I also had so much fun on some rides. The facilities are great, and the staff are very kind and friendly. I truly recommend Drini Park as your next breathtaking destination! :)

A few weeks ago, my family and I visited Drini Park in Yogyakarta, and I’d like to share my experience. The park has a very cool and refreshing atmosphere, making it feel like you’re out of town. There are various fun attractions such as the rainbow slide, swimming pool, flying carpet, and many more. The park also offers plenty of photo spots, and interestingly, one of the photo areas overlooks the beautiful view of Drini Beach below! One downside is that the food sold at the park is quite expensive, and if you visit during the dry season, the weather can feel extremely hot. Despite these minor drawbacks, Drini Park is a delightful place to unwind and enjoy the scenic view of Drini Beach from above. I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys taking photos, and I suggest visiting with your family for the best experience. I give Drini Park a 4 out of 5 stars for its beautiful scenery, refreshing atmosphere, and the variety of attractions and photo spots it offers.

I had the chance to visit Drini Park, a popular tourist spot in Yogyakarta, during the class promotion holiday. The place was quite crowded, as many people came to take photos, try out the rides, or just spend time with their families. Despite the crowd, the overall atmosphere felt fun and lively. I personally enjoyed the wide open space and the beautiful photo spots scattered throughout the park. The area was clean, and the facilities were well-managed, especially the toilets, swimming pool, and food stalls, which offered a good variety of snacks and drinks. What stood out to me the most was how family-friendly the place felt. There were lots of kids playing, families relaxing, and friends laughing together. Everything felt well-organized, and I appreciated that the staff were available and helpful when needed. Based on my experience, I would recommend Drini Park to anyone looking for a relaxing, fun, and affordable day out in Jogja — especially for families or school groups looking to enjoy the holiday together.

No wonder, if this is never empty of visitors, especially when the long holiday arrive.. The visitors play in the skyride, go around the attractions there or just take a pictures with the beach as the backdrop. Thats Drini Park with view Drini Beach. The most beautiful view beach in Central Java.. Hurry up take you time for fun💃💃

Drini Park is a tourist attraction in Gunung Kidul. It features numerous amusement rides, a haunted house, and more. The park is spacious and offers beautiful views, overlooking Drini Beach. It also features a restaurant and souvenir shops, friendly service, and a clean environment. I highly recommend it for both out-of-town and local tourists.

Lembah Oya Kedungjati, located near Stone Park Gunungkidul, offers stunning views of the Oya River Valley against a backdrop of expansive forests and hills. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking sunrises, with clear weather providing bonus views of Mount Api Purba Nglanggeran and Mount Lawu. The journey to the valley involves navigating steep and narrow roads with limited parking, but the pristine and uncrowded surroundings make it worth the effort.
Please be careful when following your google maps since I was misguided and had to take the rocky path. Better take the turn on the left once you get to Imogiri 2 junior high school. I came on Monday so there were not many people visiting, fortunately. I rent the Kano and just had to pay 10k per person with no limitation of use since there was no one qeueing. The only fee for entrance is 3k for parking service. The place is worth the journey!

Goa Tanding is a popular tourist destination located in Gunungkidul, known for its remarkable rock formations. This cave offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy raft rides on an underground river, adding excitement to their visit. Apart from its proximity to Goa Pindul, Goa Tanding stands out for its unique features such as minimal lighting and captivating stalagmites and stalactites. Visitors can explore this dark cave with the help of boatmen equipped with headlamps.
A Mesmerizing Underground Adventure Exploring Goa Tanding was an absolutely amazing experience! This underground cave offers a stunning natural beauty that is both mysterious and breathtaking. The journey through the cave was smooth and well-organized, making it a fantastic adventure for nature lovers. The highlight of the visit was the knowledgeable and friendly guide, who provided detailed explanations about the cave’s formations, history, and unique ecosystem. Their insights made the exploration even more fascinating and engaging. Drifting through the underground river while admiring the stalactites and stalagmites created an unforgettable experience. The serene atmosphere, combined with the cave’s natural wonders, made this an adventure worth taking. If you're visiting Yogyakarta, Goa Tanding is a must-see destination for an extraordinary underground journey!

We had such a great time at Goa Tanding! Beforehand we had already texted with the hosts to get some extra information to which they responded kindly and quickly and when we got there we were welcomed at the entrance and they already recognized us The tour through the cave was very nice, we had a great guide who explained to us everything about it. Beautiful picturesque place. At the end of the boat ride we got to jump from a rock higher up and swam in the cave Overall amazing experience, definitely recommend!
Lieke V — Google review
Absolutely fascinating underground river. Although enshrouded in darkness, a flashlight will suffice in helping you see the beauties of the cave. Your guide will shed light on all the secrets of the cave as you row.
Hanzo R — Google review
It's an impressive cave by volume and statistics. But the Pindal one is more beautiful as there are more things to see of the magic of nature. The tanding is impressive, we had the luck to be only with two boats, which is manageable in terms of acoustics.

Beautiful place. We were lucky enough to have a private tour (just the two of us). The darkness in the cave and being surrounded by the water creates this primeval atmosphere.

Underground rafting, not very far and there is only one way in and out of the cave, you have to go back the way you came.. They also provide offroad jeep trip around the area
