Schlossgarten is a picturesque garden surrounding Karlsruhe Palace, offering a serene escape for visitors. The park features a tranquil lake, winding paths, and open grassy areas perfect for picnics. Visitors can leisurely stroll around the castle, take in the scenic views, and observe locals playing boccia balls. A charming wooden train adds to the park's allure.
Beautiful park with a wide range of natural botanical features. I found many seating areas with shade. When you come, be sure to walk the tile road that leads out from the palace in a straight line. Very peaceful and relaxing place. There is an operational train you can ride throughout the park for €2.90 & electric scooters for rent.

Lovely location, excellent projection mapping festival. Chill vibes, decent drinks and lots of space
Robert B — Google review
Although the interior of the botanical garden is still under renovation, you can take a relaxing walk through the park. Use Google Lens to learn new things about the plant species that populate the botanical garden.

The most beautiful park I've ever visited in Germany. Simply magnificent. Huge and peaceful, no noise, ideal for spending time with children and family.
Hasan S — Google review
What an enormous park, and so beautiful. We could use a few more benches to sit on and relax a bit, especially when it's hot, as it was the case. But, appart from that, it's such a lovely park: you see green everywhere, people laying on the grass or by the lake enjoying the sun, and it's just by the city centre. It's like a haven of nature and calmness where you don't hear traffic sounds and you can relax and go for a nice walk 😍 The botanical gardens are also worth a visit, they are so pretty and the flowers are really well chosen and extremely beautiful!
André M — Google review
Beautiful park! Worth visiting during the day and at night and during summer and winter. You can see the Schloss (palace) turned Museum in the background. During Xmas period (Dec - Jan), there is a Xmas market with an open ice skating ring set on one end of the park.
Ronald H — Google review
We had a great time today. Simply flaneuring through the park and people watching 😅 You can sit down at the lake and enjoy the sun. Then walk around the castle, enjoy the view and watch the people play boccia balls. The garden is really chill and relaxing. A little wooden powered train also makes its rounds here - isn't that cute? I am sure we've only seen parts. Maybe you could go with the opening hours of the museum's and the castle itself in mind. Then you can go inside and see some more interesting stuff 😄

Nature & Parks
Günther-Klotz-Anlage is an expansive and well-maintained park spanning 18 hectares. The park features walking paths, sports facilities, play equipment, and a lake with rowboats. It's a great destination for families with kids as there are numerous areas with slides and ample space to play games. There are also opportunities to observe wildlife such as birds, ducks, and beavers at the various lakes throughout the park.
Huge and well maintained park. Either by walking or riding a bicycle there is a lot to explore! Wonderful to take kids, since there are areas with slides, and possibilities to play games are huge. Also nice to make a picnic, lay down and read a book, or just enjoy nature. There are some lakes with birds and ducks and also families of beavers! Really nice to observe them! Parking places for car are around the park, but the best way is to go by bike.
Maria M — Google review
I walk through this park every morning. Great place. very zen. you can find duck geese and herons swimming in the lake without being afraid of your presence. Lots of rabbits. People can be seen playing around in the evening. they have a boating service too I think. great place for a jog, walk or just spend some quiet time reading your favourite book. You can reach the spot easily by taking the 1:oberreut tram to europahalle station.

Beautiful park/green space in the south of karlsruhe. Amazing to enjoy sunsets at and have some drinks or food. There’s some options to play sports like basketball and paved ways for jogging.

Whether during "Das (Vor-) Fest" or not this is is a really nice place to spend time outdoors! Amidst nature, a pond, by the riverside etc... Great place for pick-nicking, to relax, to go for walkies with the dog or to bring your kids!

Nestled near the stunning Karlsruhe Palace, Nymphengarten is a delightful little park that beckons visitors with its enchanting ambiance and tranquil vibes. This charming green space is perfect for unwinding, whether you're basking in the warmth of sunny days or enjoying the crispness of cooler weather. One of its standout features is the captivating "Nymphengruppe" statue by Hermann Volz, which adds a touch of historical significance to your visit.
It's a nice park to chill in both warm and cold days.
Hassan B — Google review
A small, charming park known for its picturesque setting and serene atmosphere, making it a favored spot for relaxation and leisure. Situated near the Karlsruhe Palace, the park is easily accessible and forms part of the larger green spaces that enhance the city's landscape. Historically, the Nymphengarten is named after the "Nymphengruppe" statue by Hermann Volz, which is a key feature within the park. This connection to the statue reinforces the park's association with classical beauty and mythology. The Nymphengarten offers well-maintained paths, lush greenery, and a tranquil environment. It serves as a peaceful retreat within the bustling city, providing a place for locals and visitors to enjoy leisurely walks, picnics, and the natural beauty of the area. The park's proximity to cultural landmarks, such as the Karlsruhe Palace, adds to its appeal, making it a noteworthy spot in the city's array of public spaces.

Nestled between the historic Gottesauer Schloss and the bustling Durlacher Allee, Otto-Dullenkopf Park is a delightful green oasis in Karlsruhe. Formerly known as Ostauepark, it was renamed in 2012 to honor the city's former mayor. This expansive park offers ample open spaces perfect for various activities, including sports and leisurely strolls. The integrated fun park makes it an ideal spot for skateboarding enthusiasts, especially kids eager to hone their skills.
Very beautiful place and relaxing and peaceful 🌄💕
Ahmed Y — Google review
Nowhere as good as larger parks in the city (Günther-Klotz-Anlage, Schlosspark, Fasanengarten). Just some grass (no trees) and an extremely small playground. Maybe worth a visit for the skate area if you're into skateboarding.
Ilias C — Google review
It's just an open space with no particular aspects, but it's nice to have open space in the Oststadt. The Musikhochschule is in the middle, and there is a decent pizza and pasta restaurant.

Europabad is a modern and family-friendly indoor-outdoor water park located in the Karlsruhe region. It offers a variety of attractions for visitors of all ages, including slides, saunas, and a lazy river. The park features one of southern Germany's longest water slides at 170 meters and includes a dedicated 1600 square meter kids pool. Additionally, there are up to 10 slides with different levels of difficulty, both indoors and outdoors.
Spotlessly clean and diverse set of sauna and pool options - nice cafe. Really well done. We hope to be back.
Scott P — Google review
My friends and I enjoyed the time here. We tried all the slides. No spoilers for the red slide 😂. I couldn’t to it 😅. We had fun but didn’t expect to pay 15 euros for 2 hours.
Vanick K — Google review
Spent 4 hours here with my boys while visiting from New Zealand. Seems very expensive and the slides didn’t open till 12pm and I did not find this info anywhere easily so meant we were there for 2 hours with no slides. Wrist band system for locker and food etc is great.
Hannah H — Google review
Nice slides. The children love this pool! Although I found it pretty noisy and the food choices are not great. It’s a good deal nonetheless.
Helene W — Google review
It’s amazing here, there are many things to do such as sliding cool and fun slides or relax in the sauna and thermal baths. The sauna entry costs extra but it’s very much worth it for the amount of options and saunas you get. The pool and slides are perfect for people of any age and the restaurant is nice.
Elora — Google review
I was there with my family last year and we came again 2025. It's a great and entertaining place. Kids enjoyed it very much. Also it is a good place for adults. Regarding prices, for the whole family, 4 hours of stay is 50 euros. There is a restaurant on the upper level, not so cheap, but food is fairly tasty. If you come during the weekend you can expect a crowded place, so I recommend coming during weekdays. It is lot less people and you dont need to wait for slides. I recommend this place if you are near Baden-Baden or Karlsrue.
Viktor S — Google review
Large and well-maintained water park with a great variety of slides, pools, and spa areas. The facilities are clean, and the atmosphere is relaxed. The sauna and wellness section is also very good. It can get a bit crowded on weekends, but overall it’s one of the best water parks in the region.

Nestled in the heart of Karlsruhe, the Zoological Gardens Karlsruhe, also known as Zoologischer Stadtgarten, offers a delightful blend of nature and wildlife. This enchanting destination features lush park landscapes adorned with vibrant flower beds, serene boating lakes, and sprawling green spaces that create a tranquil oasis for visitors. As you stroll through this urban paradise—just a short ten-minute walk from the city center—you'll encounter an array of fascinating animals including polar bears, seals, sea lions, and elephants.
The most positive impressions. I really liked that there was an opportunity to see some monkeys very close and it really impressed me. I can also say that there are many benches where you can sit, which is a plus. All the plants are very well-groomed. All the animals also look very beautiful and are well looked after.
Di — Google review
We visited the zoo on a weekday so it wasn't too crowded. The nature is beautiful, lots of plants and flowers, especially now in spring when the flowers are blooming. Perfect fun for children, lots of animal species, well-maintained play parks for children. The zoo is really big and you need a whole day if you want to visit everything, so it's great for a full-day trip with the family. We really liked it and will definitely come again. We loved the Gondola ride on the lake. We had a really nice experience and memories. Admission for children under 6 is free, a day ticket for adults costs €15 if you buy it at the box office. It's cheaper if you buy the ticket online because then you pay €14.
Laelly — Google review
Located right in front of the main train station, this is a relatively small zoo that packs a big punch. Sure, there aren't lions or tigers, but the polar bears, elephants, hippos, chimps and many other charismatic animals make up for it tenfold. And while some of the exhibits could be on the older side, there are brilliant modern facilities, like the wonderful tropical house, that make a big difference!
Alan D — Google review
Staff were friendly and nice. Beautiful gardens and promenades. Nice displays of flowers. Amazing birds and animal varieties. The full leaning seats were so ergonomic and comfortable! The view from the hill is fantastic and you’re able to see in all directions for miles. Tranquil areas that were peaceful as well as like paintings with the fall colours. Disappointed that the polar bears were not out and wonder if there are any. The water for the bears wasn’t clear or clean. Lots of trash in it lead us to believe there may not be any bear or bears. One of the nicest and best zoos I have been to. Thank you from Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Mary-Lynne S — Google review
A great zoo, with lots of animals – elephants, giraffes, parrots, seals, owls, penguins... Also a central location, easy to reach after getting off the train. Quite a good place to have a stroll with your friends. Be aware of the weather because in good weather you can see more animals.
Kürşat K — Google review
It's ok, nothing more, nothing less. Sure, it's nice with kids, but the enclosures are way too small. The polar bear has no ice, the cheetahs no privacy, but they do have room for countless food stalls and giant grass fields. The enclosures are way too small. We shouldn't be funding this.
Berend — Google review
An unforgettable family-friendly experience!" Karlsruhe Zoo is one of the best places to spend a day for both adults and children. From the moment you enter, there’s so much to see and do. One of the absolute highlights is the polar bears — they are active, playful, and their spacious enclosure makes it fascinating to watch their behavior up close. It’s truly a sight that stays with you long after your visit. Another standout feature is the rose garden. Walking through the beautifully maintained gardens is a peaceful and colorful experience, perfect for taking photos or just enjoying a quiet moment surrounded by flowers. It adds a lovely contrast to the excitement of the animal exhibits. For families with young children, the petting area is fantastic. Kids get the chance to interact safely with friendly animals, which is always a big hit. The children’s play area is equally impressive — spacious, well-designed, and full of activities that keep children entertained while parents can relax nearby. The zoo itself is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. Informative signs and thoughtfully designed enclosures make it both educational and fun. Whether you’re coming to admire the animals, enjoy the gardens, or let the kids run around and play, Karlsruhe Zoo offers a complete and memorable experience. I highly recommend it for a family outing or a day spent exploring nature and wildlife.
Sumit P — Google review
Visited the Karlsruhe zoo with friends and their kids which was an amazing find. The place is very nice, interesting, well maintained with lots of activities for kids of every age as well as adults. The exibits are well curated and the animals seem to be very well taken cared for. The ticket is 15€ per person which may sound a bit pricey but you have a tons of things to do. Overall this was a great find that I highly suggest to everyone, especially parents. If you don’t know what to do about your kid and feel a bit drained, take them to the zoo to roam around!

It is a great place! If you walk around Sclossgarten, I definitely recommend it. There are three glasshouses connected to each other. Maybe if they write a bit more about species, that makes more informative, but still I like it 😊

Beautiful area..unfortunately, no that many benches and no public toilets .. all the animals are very close … be sure not to wear your white shoes! Otherwise, it’s gonna be black 😄

Overall a very nice place. An excellent place for running and cycling. Fewer options for resting which could be a factor if you are walking with kids. (It's open for public, no tickets were required)

The Oberwald and Zoo Tiergehe are simply a joy for young and old! Whether by foot or with bikes, single, families, couples, for walkies with dogs... It's a very beautiful forest with several very large animals' places (Gehege) by "Zoo Karlsruhe". Most of the animals are from Asia, however there are also "Rocky Mountain Snow goats" the ones you can see in the wild for instance at Yellowstone N.P. (when you're lucky). There's also a very nice pick-nick area and a playground for children. Entry is all free, naturally. ❤️

(Translated by Google) Absolutely recommended for me as a critical allotment visitor and apparently so good that I'm writing a review for the first time. The ambience is suitably Mediterranean and junk shop. I feel like I'm on vacation here! The innkeeper is countering the pandemic with a sophisticated hygiene concept: he is not open. The only criticism of an otherwise perfect allotment garden experience is the lack of interior borders, which are, however, made up for by the exterior borders that are in full bloom.

(Translated by Google) Jardin 67 is not a garden, it is a revelation. While one generally imagines tranquility and small-mindedness in a place like this in the returned Biedermeier age, here one finds the opposite - a source full of inspiration and sublimity, which is fed in particular by the substance of the operator. This is not about the question of what can be created here, no, the individual itself takes shape and swings with an inexhaustible resonance through the outdoor borders, the swimming area and, since yesterday - a growing greenhouse!

(Translated by Google) A well-kept outdoor border is the calling card of the ambitious allotment gardener. Despite the prophecies of doom, a self-confident man in his late thirties with a penchant for 90s retro stripes makes a daring statement: The allotment garden has never been stuffy, is not and, above all, never will be. My conclusion: An allotment community that has such an up-and-coming member in its ranks does not have to worry about a rosy future. Keep it up. Weiter so.
