State park
Nature & Parks
Beavers Bend State Park - Hochatown Area is a sprawling 3,000-acre park offering a myriad of outdoor activities. From hiking along the various trails to camping under the starry night sky, there's something for everyone. The park features primitive and RV campsites, an 18-hole golf course, and a lodge for those seeking comfortable accommodations. Visitors can also rent cabins for a cozy stay amidst nature. The picturesque lake provides opportunities for fishing, boating, and skiing.
Love this park! The whole area is inviting and the activities are wide ranging. We have been here twice now and enjoyed it each time. We have now tried the off road trails, it was a lot of fun. Views were awesome and we found some great spots that were well worth the drive to get to. I used AllTrails to find some local trails, and honestly we just adventured off the path here and there. So there are more trails than listed. Some rocks and steep hills for your adrenaline side.

Been coming here for years. Always liked staying in the cabins at the state park because they are rustic. This time was terrible! I wore fuzzy socks for inside the cabin and had to throw them away! They were black. Didn’t look like anyone had cleaned those floors in years. Didn’t bring any kids this trip or I would have had to go buy some bleach and mop the floors. I had bleach wipes for the tables and counters and tried to ignore the filthy cabin as much as possible. Of course when you step outside in the park it’s as beautiful as ever but just do not recommend the cabins any longer. Drove to the lodge and it had been remodeled two years ago. Told the worker there how bad the cabin was and she just said she knew. Sad 😢

We had a blast here. Watching those fly fishing looked like a video frame from Brad Pitt fly fishing. The water is very 🥶 cold. It's so beautiful. We also went to the beach and then kayaking. We had a blast! So so beautiful.
Donn M — Google review
We had an RV For in the fern loop. The spot was huge, had nice views of the river and was across from the bathrooms. There was a bit of traffic as others have said sure to these being the bathrooms for all the campers. The playground was close and functional. Starlink worked here despite significant tree cover and if you're charging a Tesla keep in mind you need a special 30amp 120v adapter for your mobile charger.
Jonathan L — Google review
Fun trails and lots of trees. Great paths of all types. Low day pass fee per vehicle for 24 hours and for any state park in Oklahoma.
Stacy B — Google review
Beautiful state park. They have primitive camp sites, regular tent sites and RV hook ups. The lake is absolutely gorgeous and peaceful!! Don’t want to miss it!
Brittany L — Google review
This is one of the absolute best state parks I've ever been to and not just in Oklahoma!!! This place is HUGE with TONS to do!!! Gorgeous views everywhere you look! The lake is incredible, perfect temp, and so clear!! The river, well it's stunning, a little chilly but perfect on these HOT summer days!!! All the camp areas are kept immaculate, along with the bathrooms and showers!!! No reason not to find the perfect spot to camp with all they have to choose!!!1st time there with a 7hr drive and definitely will be going back!!!

Zoo
Hochatown Rescue Center & Petting Zoo offers a unique experience for animal lovers. Visitors can interact with a variety of animals, including rabbits, donkeys, pigs, goats, horses, raccoons, and skunks. The center also serves as a wildlife rehabilitation facility. Guests have the opportunity to feed the animals and receive guidance from staff during their visit. While the zoo may not be large in size, it provides an intimate setting for animal encounters.
We had such a great time. The animals were super friendly and a bunch of them came right up to us. Most of them seem pretty happy and at peace there. Everyone that was working there was really friendly to us and you could tell they cared about the animals. Love that it’s a place for some wild animals to rehabilitate before being sent back to their natural habitat. I’d love if there was a website or some way I could donate as we don’t live in the area and wouldn’t be able to come back on a regular basis. Thank yall for what you do for these animals!
Katherine G — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Such a fun and heartwarming experience! The animals here are incredibly friendly — you can feel how well they’re cared for the moment you walk in. I even formed a quick little bond with one of the birds, which absolutely made my day! 💕 The staff was knowledgeable, welcoming, and loved sharing stories about the animals. You can tell they truly care about what they do. If you’re anywhere near Hochatown, this place is a must-visit. It’s fun, educational, and full of heart. ❤️🐦
Alicia S — Google review
We had such a great time here at this Hochatown gem! They had a lot to offer and the owner and her staff were great! You can tell they really care about the animals. They know each of them by name, which is hard I’m sure because there are so many animals! They even offer pony rides!! My son absolutely loved going here and we will definitely be coming back! I highly recommend coming here if you are ever in or around Broken Bow!
Brian H — Google review
A really wide variety of animals. Very impressive. From petting a kangaroo to a camel to deer fawns it was good for the kids and the adults. Only complaint would be the strong urea (pee) smell in the baby barn but that's it. Very passionate staff wanting to share and educate about all the animals. Reasonable admission and it went to a good cause! Wonderful employees!
Matthew V — Google review
First time ever in this wonderful Town! My kids loved the petting zoo!! Owner and staff members were very friendly!! Will definitely come back! My kiddos enjoyed every second of it!! Can't wait to visit again!!
Lori R — Google review
SOOOO much fun...no matter what age you are! The animals were so calm and it was so neat to be able to touch and handle so many of them. Staff were very nice and informative! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for something to do. Very reasonable prices as well!
Heath T — Google review
I loved seeing all the animals. However I felt the living conditions of some of the animals was less than ideal. And the cup of food I bought for $5 appeared to be more like bird seed than animal feed. Some of the staff members were very knowledgeable and helpful. I am hoping that all those animals truly are being cared for to the best extent possible.
Shirley W — Google review
This was so much fun! We loved on all the deer and the birds were so much fun. They would talk back. Think we played with the birds more than anything and we loved the deer! Really is a good place to get some animal love and great energy!

Our tour guides were amazing. Very informative and helpful/kind. This was a first time zip lining for my oldest and me. We have truly fallen in love after this experience and are so glad we did this. We will be back! Thank you!!
Makayla T — Google review
What a wonderful experience for the 9 of us! T and Hannah were absolutely incredible. Both fun and funny while keeping us safe. We had 1 newbie that was sooo scared but they made her feel so safe and distracted her from the heights. We also had veteran zipliners who said the last run over the lake was the most beautiful they had ever seen! We will go back. We loved it and are talking about making it an annual memory maker.🤩😎
Solid R — Google review
What an experience! We’ve been wanting to Zip Line for years but just never bit the bullet. We decided to give it a try with Rugaru Adventures for our first time. Maddie & Quincy, our guides are awesome! They were professional, knowledgeable, funny and put us at ease. The runs were great with the last one going over the lake which was so very cool! Highly recommend & would definitely recommend them and do it again!
Lisa M — Google review
We had 9 ladies in our group and we had the best time ever! Kyler and Mattie were awesome guides! They interacted with our silly group and we had so much fun!!
Karen G — Google review
Lindsey and T were amazing on our 12pm tour today! This is the most fun we’ve had on our trip so far. Even if you’re a little afraid of heights, give this a chance!! Fun for all ages. If you’re an asthma girly like me, do bring your inhaler just for the last hike up to the lake portion. Such a great experience!
Victoria B — Google review
My family and I had a great experience. Austin and Austin were interactive and friendly. Beginner friendly hiking, especially for someone out of shape like myself! Thankfully it was cloudy when we went. They offer water at most/every station, so no need to bring a bottle.

Located in Broken Bow, OK, Beavers Bend Safari Park spans 90 acres and is home to a diverse array of animals including Bison, Zebra, Ostrich, Kudu, and Deer. The park offers a scenic drive-through experience amidst natural terrain with lush trees and flowing streams. Visitors can enjoy feeding the animals at designated stations throughout the park. Additionally, the on-site gift shop offers a variety of souvenirs.
This was a wonderful experience! The facilities were super clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was wonderful to see so many majestic animals and we even saw a baby that had only recently been born! It was still trying to get up to standing. If you are wondering which exhibit to go to the rescue center on the main road or this one— choose those one. The animals are in a much better environment here. We also visited the walk thru part of the Safari exhibit. It is still partly under construction but I can tell when it is completed it will be fantastic. I would most definitely recommend this place!
Shirley W — Google review
This place was so clean and magical. The animals were amazing to look at and feed. If you do the drive and feed buy at least 4 cups of food. So you wont run out. I will definitely be back! Thank you for such a great experience.
Truth L — Google review
Highly recommend the Ultimate Safari Adventure. Christian and Miranda were wonderful! Very knowledgeable. They made the kangaroo, tortoise and rhino up close and personal experience very special. They have great stories about all of the animals and were so helpful and answered all of our questions. It was worth the money. We never felt rushed and they give you a ton of food to feed the kangaroos, and Ronnie the rhino! The food for the walk around feedings is also included in the ultimate package. The drive thru and walk around was great and feeding all the animals was quite the experience! All the animals are well cared for and we enjoyed every moment of our time there.
Robin P — Google review
We took the kids in March 2025 and they had a blast. Yes prices may seem a little pricey but we did notice how well the property is set up and designed with more attractions being built. The walk through area was still in the process of being built but everyone had fun with what was available to walk through. Everyone had fun feeding the animals out at the feeding stations and in the walk through area
Paul P — Google review
OMG, what a great place for the family. You can do a walk around and feed exotic animals. We did the Ultimate Package and was taken to feed a white rhino! Ronnie was really huge, and he was hungry. We petted and fed kangaroos. They have very soft melts and eat so gently. There were tortoises 🐢 you can feed. So great to see the children enjoying themselves plus learning about the animals. Just an awe inspiring time.
Kathee W — Google review
We had the BEST time at the safari park! The hyenas were super cool to see up close, Ronnie the rhino was a favorite, and I was shocked at how soft the kangaroos were! The otters were absolutely adorable too. The park was super clean, the animals are clearly well taken care of, and the staff was so friendly. We had people in our group from ages 11 to 65 and every single one of us had a great time. Also don’t skip the coffee shop! I got the iced vanilla latte and it was so good. Highly recommend this place and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Broken Bow!
Tabatha H — Google review
Beavers Bend Safari Park was amazing. The staff is highly skilled, knowledgeable and the animals are well cared for. The facility was also very impressive. I am glad to see this area have such a top notch attraction. I recommend doing the ultimate package for everything the park has to offer, and pet Rhonie!

Hochatime is a popular store in Hochatown that offers a wide range of merchandise capturing the local vibe. Visitors can find t-shirts, hats, stickers, and more with creative designs reflecting the spirit of Hochatown. The store is known for its high-quality items and unique selection of gifts, including camping necessities. Customers appreciate the friendly owners and often return to explore new designs. The store also offers cute books for kids and even sells firewood by the piece.
Probably one of the best gift shops in town. A wide selection of great looking gifts on nice items. These aren’t the cheap, crunchy, tee shirts and lame stickers. These are all very well designed. The stickers are all $2 as well, which is a steal for collector nerds like myself! I wish every gift shop took a page from these folks book. One of the unique things about this gift shop aside from the creativity and quality was that they had a pretty wide selection of camping necessities.

Super cute store. Perfectly curated. Great stickers, shirts, hats, etc. Really, really cute books for kids. Firewood for sale by the piece ($0.75/piece, nice wood). Definitely a great stop, highly recommend. Wish I'd taken more pictures!

Fun layout inside with the bus, good selection of kids size t-shirts and adults, plus lots of souvenirs.

We were watching Discover Oklahoma a few weeks back. Hochatime was featured in a story, so I put it on my list to do. I was able to visit today. It is a very cool place to explore. The store has t-shirts, camping gear and other things you may need. They are currently only allowing 6 people in at a time....so you may have to wait a minute. It is worth it! You can also pan for treasure in the water fall. You can even ride a T-Rex! Put this on you list of places to see!

Definitely a fun trip around the woods in a train! Deer everywhere and got a historical lesson about alot of the land around here! Very fun and the kids will love it! They also have horse trail rides and a gift shop and eatery. Definately a fun trip!

conductor Joe was so funny, the stories he shared was also really awesome too. We saw lots of deer & a few squirrels. Lots of laughs. We missed the souvenir shop, not sure the time they closed though.
Justin J — Google review
The Beavers Bend Train Depot offers a delightful little adventure. We found the train clean and well-maintained. The ride was smooth, and the views were lovely, especially through the wooded areas and some deer sitings. It's not a long ride, but it's just right for a fun diversion. It's accessible for all ages and a good way to see some of the less-trekked parts of the park. Definitely a good addition to your Beavers Bend itinerary.
Vinish A — Google review
We had such a great time. It was our first time riding a horse. We had 4 kids under 9 and they did great on their own and horses are very well trained. Also took a ride on the train and the kids loved it. Everyone there were very welcoming and helpful. We are definitely coming back.
Yacel E — Google review
Great place for kids. However, buddy horses look tired and the train conductor made a not very good joke about the kids winning ticket getting a cotton candy. No game, no cotton candy and kids didn't understand the joke. Also, it was our second time riding the train and yet to see any animals beside squirrels. 🫠😂 either, it is more of a tradition and small kids still enjoy.
Christine Z — Google review
It was so wonderful. The horse trail was a very beautiful and lengthy and worth the cost! Highly recommend for anyone whom is visiting, the ranch workers are also so nice and friendly.
Marilou V — Google review
We were the first ones to arrive Sunday morning for the train ride. We wanted to beat the crowd and we did just that. We arrived around 8:45 and didn’t board until about 9:15 because they have to check the trails before starting for the day and remove any fallen tree branches or debris. We stopped by the gift shop and got ice cream and snacks afterwards Loco Joe was a great tour guide, it was interesting to know some of the facts he mentioned during the ride about the area.
Nancy L — Google review
We enjoyed the train ride. Daytime ride is geared towards kids, but also fun for adults. The train conductor was a hoot with his stories and anecdotes. It was a bit dreary of day when we went. If it is raining, the train won't run, so call ahead.

Great family visit location. Amazing activity to do with family. Cost $10 pp and 8 for kids children can ride with adults. So much fun.
Aretha T — Google review
My youngest wasn’t tall enough to ride by himself but I totally understand from a safety perspective. Staff was kind enough, but we were disappointed the Bigfoot VR and 360 weren’t working/available. Overall a good time, though. Just wish it wasn’t cash only.

Went there only to find out even though my nephew was of the right height he was not of a valid age and was denied. Then my grandmother had a arch support in her shoe which had a piece that came up her leg and they considered it a brace even though it was not and told us she could not ride either. This track is a joke and you shouldn't waste your time coming here. Absolute garbage place don't waste your time for a under par track go to hatchatown amus ments instead.

What a great family friendly place! Very Very reasonably priced! Our grandkids and adults kids had a blast!! Absolutely a MUST!! Friendly staff!! We went 2 days in a row!! Go see these people and support this small business!!!

Love it!!! My kid with autism was very excited but as soon as he noticed it was our turn he got so anxious. The way ALL the personnel reacted and helped my husband (I was with our other kid) was great! They were so kind. I’m truly grateful. But, overall the experience was great. My other son lived it and we will definitely go back.
Silma R — Google review
Rude staff, poor experience — would not recommend. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was shockingly bad. The “cash only” policy is barely posted, and the woman at the counter was rude when we tried to pay. Staff spoke hatefully to our kids—one child was singled out for being “too small” to ride alone (despite being nearly the same size as the others), and another was snapped at when asking for help buckling in. Despite strict rules about safe driving, no one enforced them, and older kids were allowed to ram into our girls’ karts repeatedly. To top it off, a lost phone situation was handled with more suspicion and attitude than basic human decency. In a tourist town, you’d expect better. We’ll never go back—and we’ll be telling others to avoid it, too.
Morgan G — Google review
This place was a lot of fun. Decent sized track and karts were fast. Not fast enough to need to use brakes around turns, but still a lot of fun. We got there right after a party of 17, so we had to wait a while for our turn. There was also snow cones, gyroscopes, and a VR rollercoaster nearby. This establishment is cash only, so be warned.

Restaurant
Stevens Gap Restaurant in Broken Bow is a beloved family-owned eatery known for its unpretentious, classic American comfort food. For over 20 years, this hidden gem near Broken Bow Lake has been serving up mouthwatering dishes like fried catfish, chicken fried steak, and hearty breakfasts. The relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to unwind after a day of outdoor activities.
This is one of our staples for breakfast when we come to Hochatown. The pancakes are enormous and delicious. The eggs, bacon and breakfast potatoes are always cooked perfectly. There can be a wait because the restaurant is small but it’s definitely worth the wait! A must try!
Winston H — Google review
This Steven's Gap cafe is a decent option for breakfast in Broken Bow, especially for early risers. Opening at 7:30 am, they fill a need when there aren't many Broken Bow restaurants open that early. The food was tasty, a plus when you're looking for a good breakfast spot in Broken Bow. While the food was enjoyable and the location convenient, our service was unfortunately lacking. The waitress was quite rude, which dampened the overall experience. If you need an early Broken Bow breakfast and aren't too concerned about top-notch service, it's worth a try.
April W — Google review
My husband and I decided to try here for breakfast on our honeymoon. We are from Texas and was our 1st time out here. The food was great! Got a veggie omelet with bacon and biscuit and gravy with the BEST I've ever had diced potatoes! The omelet had so much bacon in it and the veggies with cheese inside was amazing! The waitress was incredibly sweet

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 100% recommend! The food was amazing — delicious, filling, and fast! Even with a full house, our meals came out in no time. The server was incredible — friendly, attentive, and handled everything like a pro. Cozy vibe, great music, and just an all-around fantastic experience. We’ll definitely be back! 💯✨

Delicious! The “Breakfast Cubes” are one of my favorite things on the menu seasoned to perfection. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, but they were pretty burnt on the bottom, which was disappointing. That said, I tried a bite of my mom’s pancake, and it totally made up for it tasted just like cake, super sweet and satisfying. The place seemed clean inside and out, and the service was okay overall. Not perfect, but still a solid breakfast spot I’d come back to.

Stopped there about 3 wks ago so I cant remember our waitresses name unfortunately but what caught pur eye was LEO vehicles in the parking lot. We say that and knew we had to stop in because if local first responders are eating there it must be good. As firefighters and ems down in south Texas we know we dont just eat anything so we roll with this rule and it didnt disappoint. We both just the chicken fried steak but different sides and our 3 yr old got a corn dog and fries as his usual. Let me back up and rave on this amazing and patience waitress. She initially was going to sit us in a booth up front but our son didnt want that he wanted the back corner booth. We told him no we were sat here that area may be closed and she said its not come on with me. There was more decor back there and he needed the full view to ask that toddler question "what's that" lol. She talked to him and was animated about it in her tone so he eased right up and actually was calm and playful and ate his food fully. Being a southern woman my momma would make chicken fried steak pretty much weekly and it was like hers. Definitely didnt have a built up empty perimeter of breading, the steak was through the whole thing. We offered to pay for the LEO meals and she said its covered. The management there dont charge their officers with is a dying courtesy in the time we live in now. If I had any room I would of got a slice of the lemon blueberry cake they had, they had several tastey looking desserts honestly. After we left and walked outside one of the sweet PD guys gave colton a sticker badge he opted to hold on to vs putting the sticker on him. He's begging to collect them like we collect patches. All and all it was a spectacular home-cooked meal and if we ever get back that way we will stop there again. Thank you guys and I pray your business continues to prosper and you can open more with the same great food and people at this location. Best wishes and thanks yall

Just no… Some workers were nice, but most were apathetic. After waiting over 30 minutes for a table, we’re told it will take 45 minutes for our food. Most of it wasn’t edible. There was fresh vomit in the parking lot, that made it smell dreadful and a nasty pantiliner on the front patio right next to the waiting bench. 🤢 The windowsill next to our table was covered in at least 40 dead flies/bugs… Needs some serious improvements.

The Beavers Bend Wildlife Museum is a must-visit for animal and nature enthusiasts. It offers an in-depth exploration of local wildlife and their ecology, providing insight into their lives and interactions with the environment. The museum boasts an extensive collection of wildlife taxidermy, including impressive dioramas and interactive exhibits. Visitors can observe a taxidermist at work preserving animals' bodies.
The taxidermy was cool, but getting to meet the taxidermist and hear his 1st hand account on some of the exhibits was awesome. A cool view into his workshop from the museum, plus they left out different furs to feel which, again, pretty damn cool. The scavenger hunt is a nice twist to a museum and helps you find things you may have otherwise missed. The audio tour is informative as well. Definitely recommend a stop.

Absolutely awesome experience. It was something different to do. It wasn’t busy and the owner was awesome and very friendly. The taxidermy throughout the museum is absolutely gorgeous. It also has such a cool gift shop do crystals. Great experience all together

I would give this place 10 stars if I could! We actually came several years ago and since we were in town decided to go again. Did not disappoint and it was just as cool the second time! The taxidermy is beautifully done and displayed, and the museum is clean and cozy. The kids had a ton of fun completing the scavenger hunt. I also love all the rocks and minerals they have for sale, very well-priced and so cool! We were able to talk with both Shane and B.J. and enjoyed it so much. They are amazing people and so interesting and fun to talk to! If you are in the area this place is a must-see!!

A fun little "off the beaten path" adventure. Stopped in with friends and did the whole museum tour. Had a lot of fun and found good deals on crystals and minerals in the shop! Staff were polite and helpful. I think it's a fun experience for anyone in the area.

Awesome little place. The taxidermy is on point and such and amazing artists. Talked to the owner and he is from a small town close my by home town and had a great chat with him. Looking for a cicada he had in one of his displays

One of the best rock shops we've been to. They have taxidermy and a museum, too, but the rocks are amazing.
Ben A — Google review
We had a fantastic time! I’ve driven past this place countless times over the years while visiting family in the area, but today I finally decided to stop in — and I’m so glad I did! We started by browsing the gift shop and then decided to take the self-guided tour. Let me tell you, we had no idea what we were in for! For just $8 per person, we were given a handheld MP3 player and set loose in the museum. It was incredibly easy to navigate, and the audio guide was packed with fascinating information — everything from local stories and animal facts to detailed insights into taxidermy and more. One of the most fun parts was following the scavenger hunt-style checklist to spot every creature in the displays. We spent way too much time trying to find a well-hidden locust in the final exhibit — and loved every second of it. The gift shop also has many cool things from rocks, hides, Shirts, Custom knives and so much more! Highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area!

The rental process is straightforward, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Absolutely beautiful! Lots of fun! Highly recommend. Huge lake, easy to get lost. I would recommend dropping a pin 📍 before heading out on jet skis/boat. Took us a good 20-30 min to navigate back.

Beavers Bend Marina is hands-down the cleanest marina I’ve ever visited — not a spider in sight! The Ship’s Store is spotless, well-organized, and stocked with so many great finds. I was impressed to see high-quality brands like Turtlebox speakers, Goodr and Blenders sunglasses, Columbia sun shirts, plus dog life jackets so even our pup could join in on the fun. They even serve Hunt Brothers Pizza right on the water, which was perfect after a day in the sun. Their luxury boat rentals are top-notch — comfortable, well-maintained, and perfect for a day out on the lake. This place truly has everything you need for a great day on the water.

Very easy rental process! Our family rented a 10 passenger boat with a tube. It was a great time! We booked the last time slot and the lake wasn’t busy at all! Kids had fun with the tube, and the rest of us just relaxed! Several staff members helped us and all of them were helpful, knowledgeable, professional and polite. If we come back to Broken Bow for vacation we will be renting again for sure! We had some friends rent from here a few weeks ago and had the same experience!
Taylor J — Google review
Rented a pontoon boat for three hours. The online rental process was easy to do. All of the required documentation was eventually done online as our rental time came near. The marina staff were all very nice and helpful. Our boat was very nice. Highly recommend renting a tube if your boat does not come with it. We rented a knee board but never used it. Bring your own food and drinks, but the do have a Hunt Brothers pizza on the marina which you can order and take on the boat with you. The lake is huge so you do not run near many other boaters or jet skis (we rented on a Tuesday...). Highly recommend renting a boat from the Beavers Bend Marina!
Mark M — Google review
Been here several times throughout the last 10 years or so and each times it’s been consistently good experiences. Easy online booking system. Easy registering. Parking can be a bit of looking around or parking down the road but eventually you’ll find something. There is space to come drop off your stuff (coolers etc) and then find parking. They will run through how to operate the boats, how to use the tubes and boards and how to get in and out of the marina. There’s a small shop for last minute items and a pizza shop for a snack. The lake is absolutely beautiful and it’s a must if you are in the area!
Willie R — Google review
It was our first time as a family to rent a pontoon. It was quick, easy, & affordable. We will definitely be going back. The lake view is beautiful! (Fyi remember your paths, there is a map on your boat, but we still got lost having too much fun. Just remember the bridge with the bright orange buoys and you will get back to the dock.)

The Broken Tiki is a local agency in Broken Bow that offers top-notch tour packages suitable for visitors of all ages. The Upper Mountain Fork River, which winds through the Ouachita Mountains and is known for floating and fishing smallmouth bass, provides plenty of recreational opportunities. Additionally, the area features the scenic Broken Bow Lake, created by damming the Mountain Fork River. Visitors can enjoy boat tours on the lake, even in rainy weather when it becomes even more beautiful.
If you’re looking for a good time on the water this boat tour is perfect! Our family of 5 reserved a tour midday and followed all the instructions. We arrived early to enjoy some of the Duck Bar fun, purchased snacks, drinks and the kids played and played music while we waited for our bus shuttle to pick us up. Every staff member we met was so kind and hospitable. The shuttle driver was awesome! And played music and made the shuttle feel like a fun family party bus. We arrived to the launching area where we met the boat and go on. The tour was beautiful! The captain was great! He gave us facts and history. Played music and interacted with everyone. Even let the kids steer for fun. We could enjoy our drinks and snacks on the boat and took lots of pictures. Definitely a great memorable experience. Recommend for sure

We were able to get squeezed in on the last boat tour of a busy day. What fun! The Tiki bus ride with Music that got us in the mood for a memorable time,, our bus driver had a big smile that screamed you are going to enjoy the short trip I take you on. Every one there at the Broken Tiki seemed focused on our fun. Our boat guide gave us lots of great info on the area and also made this little tour a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this fun tour!
Barbara Y — Google review
The Broken Tiki was a nice little adventure. My husband and I decided to take their Sunset Cruise. In order to go to the boat for the cruise you have to go to "The Broken Tiki" park your car, and get your tickets, and board the Tiki Bus, and it will take you up to the lake for the boat ride and adventure around the lake. Our bus driver and captain of the boat were both very nice, and in fact both are school teachers 😀 You have the option of giving them a tip in there jars, or you can go through their CashApp. It was so beautiful on the lake! Also the little Tiki has a store in there where you can purchase drinks and snacks and there's also a restroom. There's plenty of space to park your vehicle. I definitely recommend this place. I don't recommend wheelchairs only because you have to get on the boat after a brief steep walk down the hill and then you have to get back up the hill. It was quit the journey. So be careful.

Louder music for the front passengers would be nice. Both George and the bus driver were great. They did not throw me off the boat so they automatically get 5!!!! It is your basic cruise around the lake tour. Not much description other that spill ways but for 35 bucks each I was happy. Great entertainment prior to tour and loved the stripper pole on the bus. We couldn’t get anyone to use the pole but the opportunity was there!!! Don’t forget the alcohol has to be bought from them!! The prices were reasonable!

We came to Broken Bow for a little trip. Rented a cabin, and happened upon this great little spot. We came here two days in a row, and it wasn’t very crowded, so it was a great place for families. There’s also a Kayak, Paddle Board, and tube rental located in the same area.

We had such a wonderful weekend at Coyote Camping Site in Broken Bow! The campground was clean, quiet, and well taken care of, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The sites were spacious and easy to set up on, and we loved how close it was to the lake and local attractions while still feeling peaceful and tucked away. It was the ideal mix of convenience and nature. We’ll definitely be recommending this place to friends and can’t wait to come back again!

Love this point. Reserve it everything I come. Only one shade tree on the point and the bathrooms/showers are a good distance away. There are a lot of day use people that invade the spots you reserve. But beautiful and good fishing, swimming, kayacking, they rent them out here and there's a park fir little ones as well. Really the best spot on the lake.

It's one of our favorite destinations. Park has a great staff that maintains some wonderful campsites. Regular ranger patrols thru the camps makes for a safe feeling. While the campground used to be free, it now requires payment for camping, parking, and various activities such as boat rentals. The site offers a peaceful retreat away from modern distractions like television and internet access.
This is a great park! Beautiful setting, nice large sites. Nice showers and restrooms. Sites are concrete with fire pit, picnic table, charcoal grill. Highly recommend, especially for larger 50 amp RVs.
Debra T — Google review
Decent campsite right in the park, I didn't like how close it was to a busy road but depending on the site it isn’t too bad. My biggest issue was that there was a TON of trash left in our fire pit from the previous occupants including plastic and even a broken wine glass. It was obvious our site was not cleaned.
Jamie M — Google review
ABSOLUTELY love this area. The campsite is super peaceful unless you just happen to get unlucky and have neighbors that have kids that are wild as banshees. There were a few people that had kids that needed manors, but it wasn't something the park could control. It's usually a parent issue. The only thing this park needs is a dog park area. Not every dog will poop on a leash and want to go sniff other spots and do that in private and peace. We are a 2 service dog household and dog parks, and giving our guys a piece of freedom to do their business is a priority. Would I recommend Beavers Bend State Park? 100% I would. I dock 1 star for no dog park.

The area offers a peaceful and secluded environment, making it an excellent spot for families or couples looking for a relaxing getaway.
This is probably the best camping area in the entire state park!!! Plenty of shade at every campsite!!! The views of Broken Bow Lake are stunning from everywhere!! Quick skip down hill to the amazing water with the coolest quartz and shale everywhere!!!! And the Outhouse is kept so clean, no smell, and well stocked!!!! Definitely my favorite area

So peaceful!! I really loved this campsite! It had everything you’d wish for camping by a lake in the forest. I took several images of the campgrounds (check it out). The outhouse was clean and a short walk from the grounds. Each ground had a fire pit, grill, lamp pole, and tent site. Not all sites are directly approachable by car, but it’s close to park next to the tent site. Lovely spot with amazing views.
Sari — Google review
Campsite 4 was very nice. The lowest and perhaps the most accessible in the Bluejay circle as the others require transversing a steap drive. Also, in shade for much of the afternoon and plenty of proper space from the light pole for the compost toilet just a quick walk away. Lastly, I believe all the gravel tent spots were 13’ x 13’ and this one could easily accommodate our larger tent size, but other folks in our group had to pitch outside of the gravel tent area due to that smaller footprint..

Absolutely beautiful camping spot! We stayed at B11 tent camping and loved it. We were right above the water and a short walk down to swim and fish. It was quiet and secluded. Camp sites were well spaced apart. This was a 7hr drive for us, but we’ll definitely be making the trip back.

Camping farm
Quail Circle RVCamping is a small rustic campground with 12 reverse-in sites, each equipped with electric (30A) and water hookups, steel BBQ grills, and concrete picnic tables. The gravel pads offer around 10-20' of space between them. While the area provides a secluded feel and great forest views, some visitors hope for improvements such as better roads and upgraded facilities.
Rustic camping! Water and electric.. Not fancy but the shade is great and the forest view is nice.
RJ P — Google review
Not a bad little RV campground but could use some improvement. In Quail Circle there are a total of 12 sites, each of which are reverse-in (no pull-thru available) and each is just barely long enough for tandem-axle pull-behind campers. The sites are gravel pads with around 10-20' between them. Each has electric (30A) and water hookups and contain a steel BBQ grill and concrete picnic table. Most sites had either a steel fire ring or make-shift stone fire pits but many were nearly unrecognizable. The area is heavily wooded with pine trees so expect some sap and pine needles on your vehicle. The main loop around the campground is paved but the pavement is in poor condition and there is a rather tight turn at one end which could be difficult for larger/longer trailers and class-A motorhomes. There were bathrooms at the entrance of this campground but they were locked when we visited. There is no RV dump station in this campground but there is one just across the street in the Turkey campground. ATT did not have any cell phone reception during our stay here but our Verizon phones did get occasional 3G service (no LTE). While not visible from the campground, there is lake access (with boat ramp) a short distance away (2-min drive, 10-min walk).
Stretch D — Google review
It was a nice spot. My only 2 complaints were no sewer hookup and the pad at spot 3 was almost impossible to get level. The left side was about 9 inches higher than the right side which necessitated several of the leveling pads to get even left to right. The front was on a downslope and even with the leg fully extended, a concrete block and several leveling pads, we still slept with the camper leaning forward. This also made it very shaky. Otherwise, it was nice. We wound up going across the street to Turkey and finding an empty site to dump our tanks a couple times during the stay.
Brian D — Google review
It can be difficult to make the turn at the back of the campground loop if you're pulling a trailer. I had a truck camper pulling a 21' boat. About 50' total length.
Debbie B — Google review
Bad road, looming trees on tight curves you can see were struck multiple times, no sewer and no dump station, tiny spots that are horribly uneven, broken table. Not any flat area to hang outside so we used Christmas lights way out and used a solo stove for fire since fire ring was impossible to use on a washed out area. First time I haven't taken a picture of a site cause it was that bad
Tim — Google review
A great area. This camping spot is small. I think there are only 12 spots here. I hope they do a little remodel soon. The roads need work and other parts of the park have brand new bathrooms. This could do with the same treatment.
Nick L — Google review
Has all the amenities I need for tent camping and my boyfriend loves the secluded feel to this particular rv park! We loved it and plan on staying at this site from now on!
Brittany H — Google review
Older camp sites but manageable. 20 and 30 amp with water. Sites are about 20 yes apart, however, this circle was tight for a 34 ft. bumper pool. I had to back down 1/4 of the circle into my site. If I had a different site in the curve, probably would not have made it. Bathrooms were open and had hot water for showers. Much better than across the street at Turkey circle. Turkey has sewer hook ups but bad camp site. All fire pits are in the inner circle, no privacy.

Such a great location, so conveniently close to town but far enough away you still have tons of privacy. The deck and hot tub were our favorite spots! We loved it so much we booked another weekend before we even left! 10/10 would highly recommend!

This place was perfect for our girls trip! It's spacious, in the perfect location, and very private. We all thought the beds were really comfortable and loved that the seating areas had plenty of space for all of us to spread out. The decor was cute and unique, we will definitely be back!

Had the best time here with 7 girlfriends for my bachelorette party this past weekend! I wish we could have stayed longer, the place was amazing. Every detail was very thought out from the layout of the property to all of the finishing touches & finer details. I really enjoyed the hot tub and TV area under the covered patio - it was all we could really do outside since it rained the whole time we were there. All the rooms were stocked with what we needed. Beds were very comfy and had plenty of pillows and extra blankets. Each bathroom had a nice blow dryer, makeup towels, nice soaps & loved the soaker tub and rain-shower in the master. Kitchen had plates, silverware, glasses, coffee pods, pots and pans, & a nice fridge. Living area had a pretty Christmas tree, super nice couch, and smart TV. We found out when we were cleaning up that there were indoor and outdoor games in one of the cabinets! Also had an indoor/outdoor fireplace that you could turn on with a button. Can't wait to come back and stay longer!!!!!

Had a great time staying at the Dapper Deer! We came with a group of 3 couples and had more than enough space to spread out and relax both inside and out. The throw blankets were an awesome touch for lounging on the couch and we loved hanging in the hottub. The cabin was close to everything in town and to the lake. Will definitely come back!

We loved our stay at The Dapper Deer! 10 stars out of 10! Highly recommend! There are so many things to do near by in town and the house was perfect to rest and relax in for us! We could easily seat everyone to lounge around indoors and out! And the beds were so comfy! We are looking forward to our next trip to The Dapper Deer!

Tucked away along the picturesque shores of Broken Bow Lake, Llama Lodge is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable getaway. This charming cabin boasts three spacious bedrooms and a fully equipped game room featuring a pool table, classic arcade games like Pac-Man, and plenty of board games for endless entertainment. Guests can unwind in the inviting hot tub on the covered patio or gather around the cozy fire pit under the stars. With ample acreage surrounding it, privacy is guaranteed—no neighbors to disturb your peace!
We decided to book a cabin this year for our friendsgiving trip, and we are so glad we did. We originally booked a different cabin, but due to water issues, we were upgraded into the Llama Lodge. The llama lodge is a fantastic cabin. When we arrived, the cabin was extremely clean, and the property was inviting. The amenities of this cabin are amazing as well! From the game room, to the hot tub, to the kitchen (which has pretty much everything you'll need to prepare food, except the food itself). The directv was a nice touch, and the wifi worked well!! It was the most peaceful place I've been in years. It's also very accommodating to people with pets/children as well. Our only complaint was the smallest bed had an odor of urine from a previous guest. HIGHLY RECOMMEND LLAMA LODGE!!

Wow! Can I give it more than 5 stars? This place is amazing! Three bedrooms plus a fully stocked game room with a pool table, a Pac-man machine, board games and more. There’s a hot tub on the covered patio, a fire pit, and acreage, so no neighbors. It’s a short drive to the lake one direction or Hochatown the other.

Little River National Wildlife Area, while not a state park, is definitely worth a visit for nature enthusiasts. Encompassing 15,000 acres of forest and wetlands, this refuge offers various recreational activities. Birdwatchers will be delighted to spot the elusive Swainson's Warbler nesting in the area.
Impossible to find as all maps and the website lead you to the headquarters. Finally located this place and after a 20+ minute drive off highway 259, we can't find a single marked trail. We lucked upon the incredibly short, but picturesque boardwalk. It was maybe 50 ft long. Then we attempted to make our way out of the maze. It would be nice if there were some signs directing you, a map somewhere, anything to make this worth it. We really wanted to walk a trail, ANY TRAIL, with our kids, but this place didn't have anything other than the boardwalk marked. Wish we had spent our 2+ hrs at the state park instead.

Originally built as a retreat for Adolf Hitler, this remarkable structure now serves as a fascinating site for visitors eager to explore its dramatic architecture and learn about its past. The journey to Eagle's Nest involves an exhilarating bus ride up steep mountain roads, culminating in an awe-inspiring view that stretches across valleys and peaks.
Worth the drive, which was pretty uneventful.

State park
Nature & Parks
Beavers Bend State Park is a scenic park nestled in the midst of tall pine forests. It boasts of a large lake, numerous trails, and camping sites for visitors to enjoy. The park also features a nature center where visitors can learn about local flora and fauna. Fishing enthusiasts can indulge in trout fishing while those looking for accommodation can opt for residential properties within the park. A museum showcasing wood crafting techniques adds to the charm of this well-developed state park which requires a $10 pass for entry.
Went for a long weekend in October and it was so lovely. I parked my RV at the Cypress campground which was clean and accommodating. The whole state park has so many activities and is very family friendly. I hiked, stargazed, and relaxed. Must see! Plan ahead because it’s a very popular spot!

Our group had a great time!! We used Tree Frog Kayak and Canoe Rentals and they were awesome and super accommodating! This was everyone in our groups first time to kayak so it took us longer and they waited. The girl that checked us in was super helpful and funny! The scenery in Broken Bow is beautiful, and the locals are super welcoming, polite, and kind.

An absolute gem of a state park! Beavers Bend State Park is unlike any other park I’ve experienced in Texas or nearby. Nestled in the beautiful Ouachita Mountains of southeastern Oklahoma, the park is surrounded by rolling hills, lush greenery, and some of the freshest air you can breathe. The drive from Dallas itself was a treat, with scenic country roads leading into the heart of nature. Once inside the park, there’s so much to explore and enjoy: A great swimming beach and plenty of picnic areas. Spacious RV spots and camping areas perfect for relaxing and soaking in the views. The Beavers Bend Dam overlook, which gives an incredible panoramic view of the lake. The Broken Bow overlook on top of the mountain — absolutely breathtaking, with the lake framed by distant hills and forests. There’s also a nature center and a small museum with fascinating artifacts and history about Oklahoma, which adds a nice educational touch to the adventure. Whether you’re here for hiking, boating, fishing, camping, or simply a peaceful retreat into nature, Beavers Bend has it all. Highly recommended for families, couples, and anyone who wants a refreshing escape into the outdoors!

What a fantastic trip to Beavers Bend State Park! The kayaking and paddle boating were absolutely amazing, and we also loved hitting the hiking trails. The scenic views on both the Cedar Bluff Trail and Friends Trail were breathtaking and well worth the trek. We also made sure to visit both the dam and the spillway, which are two different but equally impressive sights. This park is definitely worth a two-day visit to see all it has to offer!

First time coming here and we are definitely coming back! There is so much stuff to do! We stayed at a cabin and it was very relaxing listening to the birds and insects at night. Great way to escape! Word of advice, we could not get service while we are at the park so make sure to download your maps so you can still find your way around.
Veronica G — Google review
This is a beautiful park with lots of hiking opportunities. There are a lot to do for everyone. It's dogfriendly and a great park for children all ages. The only thing I found a little difficult was following the hiking trails. You won't get lost but we once lost the trail and the other time we endet up on three different trails in one hike without even trying. It was partly hard to find the markers for the trails. We weren't the only ones, we run into others who had the same problems.
Nancy J — Google review
Beavers Bend is such a beautiful spot! It's large, the roads allow access to plenty of it, and there's lots of places to stop fish. There are foot bridges to allow for fishing on the sides of all the driving bridges with plenty of space to park at either side. It's well-maintained with grassy spots to stop and explore and there are plentiful clean, permanent restrooms scattered throughout the whole park. Even on one of the busiest weekends, there was plenty of room and courteous people. I will say, the warning siren of rising water from the powerhouse will startle you, so be prepared to move up-hill or back away from your fishing spot if you are downstream of it (it's at the very south end of the park so 95%+ is unaffected). Stop by and visit this gem; you'll be glad you did! Rainbow and brown trout are plentiful in the river and the usual fare abound in the lake! Amenities are on point and laid out very well while maintaining the natural beauty you're there to see and immerse yourself in!

Loved the park. Our campsite had a very secluded feeling. It was very quiet and peaceful there. The hiking trail we took was very nice and well maintained. Will definitely be going back.
