The Guwahati Planetarium, situated in the lively city of Guwahati, Assam, is a unique astronomical museum housed in a distinctive building with red sloping walls and a large white dome. Since its establishment in 1994, the planetarium has been dedicated to educating the public about celestial phenomena and the marvels of the universe through captivating shows and exhibitions.
Show was awesome 😎 specially 3D vision just for 50 rs space station. Good Ambience. Picture quality is satisfactory. Ticket prices reasonable. Should have option for refreshment. No food allowed even water. They must arrange for vehicle parking Overall good experience.
Arun S — Google review
it's alright, but could be so much better. compared to others, the show and virtual reality sets are not worth that much praise, but it wasn't a bad experience, either. the astronomy gallery was very well built and the ideas were amazing, but the maintenance is bad, leading to a lot of the displays being non-functional. most don't even enter the astronomy gallery since it's not easily visible and nobody points it out. two other plus points are 1. the air conditioning is used and is in good condition, and 2. there's a real (albeit small) meteorite on display. by the way, if you're planning on going,, keep in mind that they only allow you to get tickets 10 minutes before a show starts. so for example, for a 4 pm show, you could only get tickets from 3:50 pm onwards
Anaika K — Google review
Very basic as planetarium. Plenty room for improvements. Need to work on the renovation, cleanliness and more variety. Ticket price is reasonable

I have visited there in a government workshop. Very good place and stuffs also.

As of oct 8th,Evening english show in the small planetarium was about seasons of sky giving enough information about the galaxies and Imaginary zodiac signs that are visible according to seasons and the geographical location of the planet.Nice place to forget yourself and feel the mysterious world to remember how small our life of 50 to 100 years which is not enough to travel earth itself and how many lives you have to be reborn to cross the solar system and then Andromeda galaxy and unfathomable universe beyond that... Alas a wonder to Imagine..
Purushotham S — Google review
The overall experience is good. The details is shared over the photo about ticket and capacity. Also timings start from 11 AM to 4PM

Guwahati Planetarium is a fantastic destination for anyone interested in learning more about the universe. Whether you're an avid stargazer or just looking for an educational outing with family or friends, this planetarium offers a unique experience that is both entertaining and enlightening. A visit here is sure to spark curiosity about the wonders of space!Located conveniently within the city, the planetarium is easily accessible by public transport or private vehicles. However, it’s advisable to check the show timings in advance, as they can vary, especially during weekends and holidays.

Botanical garden
Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, located in Guwahati, India, is a renowned destination for wildlife enthusiasts and families. Established in 1957, this expansive sanctuary houses a diverse range of exotic animals and serves as a crucial conservation site for endangered species such as the Indian rhinoceros and white tiger. Visitors can also explore the botanical garden's extensive collection of indigenous and exotic plants that enhance the lush landscape.
One of the best zoo I have ever visited. The zoo was quite huge and has large variety of animal and species. Really loved it. It will take approximately 3-4 hours to see the entire zoo by walk. This zoo will definitely give you real wildlife vibe in the mid of forest.
Hriday P — Google review
Assam State Zoo is a nice place to visit with family and kids. It has a good variety of animals, birds, and reptiles, and the botanical garden adds to the greenery. The place is spacious and gives a natural vibe, but maintenance could be improved in some areas. Food and drinking water options are limited inside . Overall, a good spot for a day outing in Guwahati.
Experience T — Google review
Visited this zoo during with high expectations and I was disappointed to see it in a bad condition. I went with high expectations because this zoo is located in a big city and I thought that it would be filled with various unique animals but I was disappointed to see only a few deers, hog deers, snakes and some other common animals. Many cages were empty with no animals inside. The price of the ticket is ₹33 for adults and you can book it online as well. I have visited Patna zoo which I think was much better than this place. Some construction work was also going on inside the zoo, maybe after the construction is complete this place will become great but for now I think It's best to avoid this place if you are a tourist roaming around Guwahati.
Himanshu K — Google review
Assam State zoo🦒 cum botanical 🪴 garden provides a calm environment for variety of animal🦏 , reptiles🪱 and plants🌱. I could witnessed all the animals closely. There is a provision for well maintained children's park🍄 inclusive vehicle service. It was a nice experience visiting the zoo but it has less space.

Visited the Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden recently, but the experience was quite underwhelming. The zoo is smaller than expected, and many enclosures were empty, which was disappointing. Some parts were under construction, making it difficult to explore properly. We could only see a few common animals. The place has potential but needs better maintenance, more animals, and proper management to attract visitors again.
Ritesh K — Google review
Ticket Fare: Rs. 33/- for adults. Online ticket is also available. Same price in both offline and online. Bio toilets available inside this place. I think 2 to 3 hours needed to cover the entire area. Almost every cells were fulfilled. Really very worthy place. A good place for spending weekend. Remains closed on Friday.
Suman P — Google review
FRIDAY CLOSED The ZOO in Assam was great, but nowadays it seems to be diminishing its valued day by day. On my recent visit to the zoo, I was unable to find any structured system except the bottle returning scheme. The e-carts are very irregular and the roads are very disturbing. The cages were broken and rusted, morever most of the animals were not available. I hope the govt of Assam will take necessary steps to "make the Zoo great again" Positive views can be seen as most of the parts were under construction.

Umananda Temple, situated on Peacock Island in the Brahmaputra River, is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Built in 1694 AD, it holds great historical significance and is considered one of the most important temples in Assam. Accessible by boat, this serene location attracts visitors from far and wide. The temple hosts the famous Shiva Chaturdasi festival annually, drawing a large number of devotees.
Umananda Temple is located in a small island so you need to have a short ferry ride to go there. Caution: There are 2 or 3 ferry operators and one charges 200 Rupees for the ticket. However, you have to find a government one that costs only 40 Rupees at the time of writing. It is an interesting Shiva temple with Hanuman. Some stair steps should be climbed to visit it. Thus, those in wheelchair and have mobility problems might find it challenging to go there. There are people selling fruits and items for worship. There is also small food place for eating. This is a peaceful area, which is good for meditation.

Umananda Temple is a peaceful and beautiful place located on Peacock Island in the middle of the Brahmaputra River. You can reach it by ferry from the Guwahati ghat. The ride is short and scenic. The temple offers calm vibes, great river views, and a lovely spiritual atmosphere.
Ritesh K — Google review
Umananda Temple — often called the Peacock Island Temple — is one of the most famous and sacred temples in Assam, located right in the middle of the mighty Brahmaputra River in Guwahati. Here’s a complete overview 👇 --- 🛕 Umananda Temple — Overview Location: Peacock Island, in the middle of the Brahmaputra River, Guwahati, Assam Deity: Lord Shiva (Umananda means “the one who is blissful to Uma,” i.e., Goddess Parvati) Built by: King Gadadhar Singha (Ahom Dynasty) in the 17th century Architecture Style: Traditional Assamese stone architecture with exquisite engravings of Hindu deities and motifs --- 🌿 Mythological Significance According to legends, Lord Shiva resided here in the form of Bhayananda. It’s believed that Goddess Parvati (Uma) loved this place, hence the name Umananda. Mythology says that when Shiva reduced Kamadeva (the god of love) to ashes here with his third eye, the hill was named Bhasmakala or Bhasmachal (hill of ashes). --- 🏝️ About Peacock Island The smallest inhabited river island in the world. Named “Peacock Island” by the British because of its shape — resembling a peacock’s outspread feathers when seen from above. Offers a 360° view of the Brahmaputra River and the Guwahati cityscape. --- 🕉️ What to See The main Shiva temple, with a sanctum dedicated to Umananda (Shiva). Intricate carvings of Ganesha, Vishnu, and Surya on the temple walls. Hanuman idols and smaller shrines around the island. A few friendly Golden Langurs, a rare primate species, inhabit the island. The peaceful ambiance and river breeze make it a beautiful spot for prayer and meditation. --- 🚤 How to Reach Nearest City: Guwahati Ferry Point: Uzan Bazaar Ghat or Kachari Ghat Distance: ~1.5 km from the main city center Boat Ride: 10–15 minutes ferry across the Brahmaputra Government ferries and private boats operate daily. Tickets: ₹20–₹50 (one way, depending on type). --- 🕰️ Temple Timings Open: 5:30 AM – 6:00 PM Best Time: Morning and evening (sunrise/sunset views are spectacular) Major Festival: Maha Shivaratri (thousands of devotees visit) Amavasya (New Moon Days) and Mondays are considered auspicious. --- 🌤️ Best Time to Visit October to April: Pleasant weather, clearer river views. Avoid: Monsoon (June–September) — high river levels may disrupt ferry services. --- 📸 Highlights Temple with ancient stone carvings Beautiful river island setting Easy access from Guwahati city Peaceful atmosphere for devotees and tourists alike.
Ashutosh S — Google review
Umananda Temple is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located on Peacock Island (Umananda Island) in the Brahmaputra River, near Guwahati, Assam, India. It’s a unique and scenic pilgrimage site with historical and spiritual significance. "Umananda" means "bliss of Uma" (Uma = Goddess Parvati, consort of Shiva) About Peacock Island: Considered the smallest inhabited riverine island in the world. Lush greenery and a peaceful ambience attract both pilgrims and tourists. The island is also known for its population of Golden Langurs, a rare and sacred species. Religious Significance: Local belief: Lord Shiva resided here in meditation and burned Kamadeva (the god of desire) to ashes when he disturbed his penance. Celebrated especially during Shivratri, when large crowds gather. PROS: 1. Scenic Journey & Unique Setting: The boat/ferry ride across the Brahmaputra is often mentioned as the highlight: the river views, the gentle breeze, the sense of leaving the city behind. Being on a small river‑island (Peacock Island) gives a peaceful, secluded feel. Many visitors like the lush greenery and quiet once you’re on the island. 2. Spiritual / Cultural Value: As an old temple founded in the 17th century by Ahom King Gadadhar Singha, it has historical plus religious appeal. The architecture, rock carvings, and small shrines are appreciated. 3. Accessibility & Time Requirement: It doesn’t take very long — a few hours is enough to visit: ferry + temple + walk around the island. The temple is open daily from early morning to evening. 4. Free Entry / Low Cost (if using Govt Ferry): The temple itself has free entry. Government ferries are cheap (≈ ₹ 40 for return) compared to private options. 5. Nature & Wildlife: Presence of Golden Langurs (rare monkeys) on Peacock Island adds to its charm. Many visitors, especially kids, love it. CONS: 1. Crowds & Queues, Especially During Festivals or Peak Times: The ferry sometimes gets very crowded; queue management is weak. Long waits for darshan (entering the sanctum) during busy times. 2. Private Ferries are Expensive / Overpriced: While government ferry is cheap, private operators often charge much more. Some visitors report paying far higher than the fair rate. Sometimes boats run late, or the schedule is not well communicated. Especially if river levels are high or during monsoon. 3. Infrastructure Issues: Ghat / ferry terminals sometime poorly maintained. Stairs to the temple are steep/uneven/slippery. Lack of sufficient amenities: public toilets, drinking water, shade, etc. On the island facilities are minimal. 4. Weather / Season Dependence: Monsoon can make ferry service irregular or unsafe. Heat/humidity & mosquitoes in the later parts of day or evening. OVERALL ASSESSMENT: Umananda Temple gives a good mix of spirituality, nature, and scenic beauty, without requiring a huge investment of time. It’s especially good if: • You enjoy temples & cultural history. • You like being close to nature (river, trees, wildlife). • You have half a day or so to spare in Guwahati. • You go at a non‑peak time (morning, not festivals). For people with mobility issues, or those expecting luxury, it’s less ideal because of stairs, basic facilities, and sometimes crowded paths / boats. TIPS TO MAKE THE VISIT BETTER: • Take the government ferry early in the morning to avoid the crowds and heat. • Wear good footwear (stairs + slippery), carry water, insect repellent. • Check the ferry schedule ahead (especially in monsoon or when river levels fluctuate). • Plan for 2‑3 hours: boat ride (there & back), temple visit, walking around island. • Avoid festival days if you want a peaceful experience or else go in the festive hours if you want to see the place in its full festive vibe. • Carry some snacks if possible, but also be ready that food & water might be overpriced on the island.

Visiting Umananda Temple was truly a mesmerizing experience, especially during sunset. The view of the sun going down over the Brahmaputra, with its beautiful shades reflecting on the river, creates an unforgettable scene. The temple itself is located on a small island, adding to its charm you can reach it easily by a short and peaceful ferry ride. A perfect spot for both spiritual peace and natural beauty!

The Assam State Museum in Guwahati houses a diverse collection of historical artifacts including sculptures, coins, and books that offer insight into the local heritage. It is a must-visit attraction for those interested in exploring the rich cultural history of Assam.
Awesome place preserving historical sculptures and all. The Assam State Museum, located near Dighalipukhuri in Guwahati, is a cultural treasure trove that beautifully showcases the rich heritage of Assam and Northeast India. I visited recently and was captivated by its extensive collection of artifacts, spanning prehistoric times to the modern era. The museum, established in 1940 by the Kamarupa Anusandhan Samiti and taken over by the Assam Government in 1953, features well-organized galleries, including Epigraphy, Sculptures, Numismatics, and Anthropology. Standouts include the 10th-century stone Nataraja statue, Ahom and Mughal coins, and reconstructed tribal huts that vividly depict Assam’s diverse traditions. The library, with its rare manuscripts and journals, is a hidden gem for history buffs. The museum is clean, well-maintained, and centrally located, just a 10-minute walk from Guwahati Railway Station. However, the extra photography fee (INR 10) feels unnecessary, and more detailed signage for exhibits would enhance the experience. A must-visit for anyone eager to explore Assam’s vibrant history and culture!
Biswajit S — Google review
Visited the Assam State Museum recently. The entry ticket is quite affordable at just ₹33, but it can only be purchased online — no cash option available. There's an additional ₹33 charge if you want to take photos. Unfortunately, most of the museum is currently under renovation. We were only able to visit 2 or 3 sections. The areas that were open had some really impressive and well-maintained ancient collections, which gave a glimpse into Assam’s rich heritage. However, the overall experience was limited due to the ongoing work. Would recommend visiting after renovations are completed for a fuller experience.

It is one of the State of the art Museum of Assam. History of Assam is represented here. Life of normal people is also represented very well by showcasing sculptures, Old houses, Musical instruments, eatables items, clothes, etc. The Museum is well managed, thanks to the workers here.

It is amazing experience to visit Assam State Museum, though the museum is small but it is enriched with some very rare artefacts. It is just opposite of Dighalipukuri lake. It was established in 1940 and later took over by Assam Government in the year 1953. Some very rare sculptures are kept in this museum. You must visit the boat section where a large wooden boat is kept and secured properly. You can see the ahom king's dress, various Assamese textiles are displayed too. I saw a very rare durga idol whose photo is attached in this post. I found it very different than other durga idols seen in other place. It will take approx 2-3 hours to see all the artefacts in the museum. The museum remains open 06 days from 10:00am – 5:00pm during summers and from 10:00am – 4:30pm during winters except on Mondays; 2nd and 4th Saturday and Government Holidays.

Perched atop Nilachal hill in Guwahati, Assam, India, the Maa Kamakhya Temple is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage site dating back to the 7th century. It is dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya and is considered one of the most sacred places of pilgrimage in India. The temple is part of the 51 Shakti Peethas and holds great significance for both Hindus and Tantric worshipers.
Visiting Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati was a deeply spiritual and unforgettable experience. The temple, situated atop Nilachal Hill, offers a serene atmosphere with a breathtaking view of the Brahmaputra River. The energy and divine presence here are truly powerful, and one can instantly feel a sense of peace and devotion. The architecture is ancient and mesmerizing, with intricate carvings that reflect Assam’s rich heritage. The temple is well-managed, and despite the crowds, the darshan was smooth and organized. Local priests and volunteers were very helpful in guiding devotees. My experience of offering prayers and witnessing the rituals felt very pure and soulful. The surroundings are clean, with facilities available for devotees, and shops nearby for prasad and essentials. Kamakhya Temple is not just a place of worship but a sacred journey—one that connects you deeply with the divine mother. A must-visit for anyone traveling to Guwahati. Entry fees 500 waiting time is 4hrs aprx. Without entry fees cant visit the main sanctum sanctorum however one can have a sneak peak darshan from distance.

Maa Kamakhya Temple is a powerful and spiritually enriching place. It sits on Nilachal Hill and offers a beautiful view of Guwahati city. The atmosphere feels truly divine, and the temple architecture is unique. However, the crowd can be heavy, especially during mornings and festivals, so it's better to visit early. You can reach the temple by cab or shared auto from the main city. Despite the rush, the experience feels peaceful and memorable.

The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya, an incarnation of Maa Shakti, and is famous for its unique spiritual energy and the Ambubachi Mela held annually. The architecture is stunning, blending ancient and Assamese styles, and the view from the hilltop is breathtaking. It’s a deeply spiritual place where faith and devotion come alive. The temple can get crowded, especially during festivals, but the experience is truly divine and unforgettable.

Visiting Maa Kamakhya Temple was a truly divine and unforgettable experience. The temple, perched atop the Nilachal Hill, offers not only a deeply spiritual atmosphere but also breathtaking views of Guwahati city and the Brahmaputra River. The energy around the temple is powerful and peaceful at the same time — you can genuinely feel the divine presence of Maa Kamakhya. The priests and temple staff are helpful and guide you through the rituals with devotion. Despite being a popular pilgrimage site, the surroundings are clean, organized, and well-managed. Whether you go for spiritual reasons or cultural exploration, this temple will leave you with a sense of peace and positivity. ⭐ 5/5 — A must-visit for anyone coming to Guwahati. Jai Maa Kamakhya!

It is especially significant in Shaktism, a tradition of Hinduism that focuses on the worship of the goddess Shakti or Devi. 🛕 KEY HIGHLIGHTS: 🔱 Presiding deity: The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya, a form of Shakti (the divine feminine power). Uniquely, there is no idol of the goddess. Instead, the sanctum houses a yoni-shaped (female genitalia) stone kept moist by a natural spring. This symbolizes the creative power of the feminine. 🩸 Ambubachi Mela: Held annually in June, this is the most famous festival at the temple. It celebrates the menstruation of Goddess Kamakhya, symbolizing fertility and the power of creation. During this time, the temple remains closed for three days, and devotees believe that the goddess undergoes her annual menstrual cycle. 📜 Mythological Significance: According to legend, Sati, the consort of Lord Shiva, immolated herself in protest of her father Daksha’s insult to Shiva. In grief, Shiva carried her body and roamed the universe. To save the world, Vishnu cut her body into 51 pieces, which fell across the Indian subcontinent. These are known as the "Shakti Peethas". The Kamakhya Temple marks the spot where her womb and vagina are believed to have fallen. 🚫 NEGATIVE ASPECTS: 1. Extreme Crowds & Long Wait Times: On normal days, expect to wait 2–4 hours to enter the sanctum. During festivals like Ambubachi Mela, wait times can stretch to 10+ hours. No organized or modern queue system; pushing and discomfort are common. Elderly, children, and those with health issues may struggle. 2. Lack of Cleanliness: Sanitation is a major issue around the temple and in queue areas. Trash, food waste, and animal waste (due to sacrificial practices) can be seen near temple grounds. Toilets are often poorly maintained and even hard to find. 3. Animal Sacrifices: Animal sacrifices (mainly buffaloes) still occur as part of religious rituals. For many tourists—especially foreigners or those unfamiliar with such traditions—this can be disturbing or even traumatizing. The practice is controversial - I personally detest this tradition. 4. Aggressive Touts & Fake Priests: You’ll likely encounter aggressive "guides", priests, or vendors offering rituals or shortcuts for money. Some may pressure you into paying unnecessary fees - simply feels like a way they misuse the 'bhakti' of the tourists. 5. Poor Tourist Infrastructure: Very little information is available in English or other foreign languages. Lack of official signage, audio guides, or interpretive material makes it hard to understand the temple's significance unless you’ve researched beforehand. Accessibility for people with disabilities is practically nonexistent. 6. Over-commercialization: Religious atmosphere is sometimes lost in the chaotic market around the temple. Souvenir shops, food stalls, and donation requests can feel overwhelming or exploitative. 7. Security and Safety Issues: Pickpocketing has been reported in crowded areas. There’s minimal visible security, especially in handling large crowds. No proper emergency medical support within temple premises. POSITIVE ASPECTS: 1. 🏯 Architecture & Setting: The temple’s architecture is distinctive, with a bulbous dome and beautifully carved stone sculptures. Located on Nilachal Hill, it offers breathtaking views of Guwahati and the Brahmaputra River. The surrounding area has a mystical aura, dotted with smaller shrines and natural scenery. 2. 🛍️ Nearby Attractions & Experience: Guwahati city itself has other attractions like: • Umananda Temple • Assam State Museum • Kaziranga National Park • Can shop for local Assamese handicrafts and silk products. 🧳TIPS FOR TOURISTS: • Carry water, snacks, and hand sanitizer—basic amenities are limited. • Avoid touts or aggressive “guides” near the temple. • If you're sensitive to intense religious rituals, research beforehand or consult a local guide.

Maa Kamakhya Temple is one of the most revered and ancient Hindu temples in India, dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya (a form of Goddess Shakti). It is located atop the Nilachal Hill in Guwahati, Assam, overlooking the Brahmaputra River. Here’s a quick overview: 🛕 About the Temple Deity: Goddess Kamakhya (the Yoni or womb of Shakti) Significance: It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, where the yoni (female reproductive organ) of Goddess Sati is believed to have fallen when Lord Shiva carried her body. Architecture: The temple features Nagara-style architecture with a beehive-shaped dome and sculpted panels depicting gods and goddesses. Main Festival: Ambubachi Mela (June) — celebrated to mark the annual menstruation of Goddess Kamakhya, symbolizing fertility and the power of creation. Durga Puja and Manasha Puja are also celebrated grandly. 🌄 Temple Complex The Kamakhya complex consists of ten individual temples, each dedicated to different forms of the Goddess — Tara, Bhubaneshwari, Bagala, Chinnamasta, Tripura Sundari, and others. 🙏 Rituals and Beliefs The temple does not have an idol; instead, devotees worship a natural rock fissure in the shape of a yoni, which is continuously watered by an underground spring.

It is very sacred temple and one must do darshan once in lifetime. You must reach early and take the VIP ticket at 500 rs to reduce the waiting time. You can take the copper vessel with you to get the divine jal or water as prasad from the temple and keep it at your mandir or temple at home to remove and prevent further negative energy from home.

This important cultural destination is in need of tender loving care to restore its original beauty! Wonderful collection of wall murals throughout the park's perimeter wall. Directional signage at the entrance would make an important difference in visiting. All the fountains are in need of maintenance, and the stagnant needs to be removed. The museum has incredible displays provide great insight into Assam's history and diversity.

Beautiful places. We visited music section building only. Nearest place for good veg food is Shreekrishna resturant. Opposite to the museum is a bakery (don't eat samosa or drink tea it's crappy) and a momos shop (Darjeeling Momos). This momos shop is the best. Overall, satisfactory trip after Umananda. Opens till 7:45 PM and alcharges are 50 Rs per person.

Accoland is a large water amusement park located in Guwahati, offering a wide range of rides and attractions suitable for all ages. It is the first water amusement park in the North-East region and provides a day full of fun and excitement. The park features various thrilling slides and rides, including the adrenaline-pumping 'Tornado' and the relaxing 'Lazy River.'

Sure! Here's a well-written review for the water park based on your points: --- Water Park Review I recently visited the water park and had a truly enjoyable experience. The park offers a sufficient number of rides for all age groups, from thrilling slides to relaxing pools, ensuring everyone has something to enjoy. There are also plenty of playful elements like wave pools etc. Overall, it was a nice experience filled with fun, excitement, and refreshing moments. Highly recommended for a weekend getaway or a family outing.

Accoland is good place to enjoy with family and friends. Kids love this place. There is variety of ride for children. I recommend visit atleast 11 am before if you enjoy all ride. Right now entry ticket price is only ₹ 595 only (festival season maybe).

Been there last week after almost 7-8years. Had a amazing time.. Accoland offers a great variety of attractions including water parks, thrilling water slides (which were just wow) to unique features like the Magic Mirror House and 5D Virtual Travel that make the experience even more exciting. It's a perfect spot for a family outing, there's something for everyone to enjoy. While outside food isn’t allowed, there are restaurants inside that serve decent meals at reasonable prices, so that wasn’t a big issue. Entry tickets are priced at ₹840 for adults and ₹740 for children below 4ft 4inch, which felt a bit on the higher side. But overall, the fun and memories made it worth it. Highly recommended if you're looking for a day of fun, splash, and adventure near Guwahati!

Behaviour of staffUgh, this waterpark was a total letdown. The slides were okay, I guess, but the staff's attitude was genuinely awful. Seriously, I felt like I was inconveniencing them just by existing. Every interaction, from the locker rental guy to the lifeguard yelling at a kid (unnecessarily, I might add), was met with this bored, condescending glare. Zero enthusiasm, zero helpfulness, and frankly, just plain rude when we asked a simple question about where the lazy river started. They acted like they hated their jobs and wanted everyone to know it. If you want a fun day out, go somewhere where the employees don't treat the guests like they're a nuisance. Sort out your customer service, waterpark! The staff killed the vibe completely."
Madathil S — Google review
I had so much fun — the rides were exciting, the atmosphere was great, and it was a perfect day out with friends/family. The only downside was that the shower and changing area were overcrowded, which made things a bit inconvenient. Other than that, it was an awesome experience. Definitely worth a visit!

Accoland is a nice place to enjoy with family and friends. Lot of rides and around 4-5 different pools with so many slides etc. Anyone from 3-60 can easily enjoy there. But make sure not to take Large luggage with you as the locker provided would accommodate about the size of a school bag/laptop bag. Food is costly and feels like waste of money. If travelling by personal vehicle then it's fine orelse cabs and Auto charges way too much.

Nestled atop Chitrasal Hill in Guwahati, Assam, the Navagraha Temple stands as a revered pilgrimage destination dedicated to the nine celestial bodies of Hindu astrology. This ancient temple not only serves as a spiritual haven for devotees seeking astrological balance but also offers breathtaking views of the surrounding cityscape.
Perched atop the serene Chitrachal Hill in Guwahati, the beautiful Navagraha Temple isn’t just another ancient shrine — it’s the kind of place where time slows down, your phone signal weakens, and you finally hear the stars whispering. Or maybe that’s just the wind whistling through the banyan trees. Either way, it's magical. Built in the 18th century by the then Ahom King Rajeswar Singha, this temple is dedicated to the nine celestial influencers — the Navagrahas — who, according to the Hindu astrology, play cosmic chess with our destinies. From the fiery Mars (Mangala) to the mystical Rahu and Ketu, each "graha" has its own seat inside, represented by nine Shivalingas, each covered with a colored cloth to denote its corresponding planet. No flashy LED lights or loudspeakers — just stone, silence, and spirituality. Fascinating Bits That Are Truly Out of This World: - The temple is also called "The Temple of Nine Planets" (obviously!) and was once a center for astronomical and astrological studies, housing scholars who observed the stars long before Google Sky. - Though dedicated to the Navagrahas, the main deity is Lord Shiva, linking the temple to both cosmic science and spiritual strength. - The original dome was partially damaged by an earthquake in the late 19th century but was later restored by local devotees and the Assam government. - From its hilltop perch, the temple offers a panoramic view of the Guwahati city and the mighty Brahmaputra River — ideal for those deep, Instagram-worthy "soul searching" shots. Cosmic Reflection: A visit to the Navagraha Temple is like stepping into the quiet heart of the universe — with just the right blend of mythology, astrology, and mysticism. Whether you’re appeasing Saturn or simply climbing the hill for that peace of mind your therapist suggested, you’ll leave a tad lighter (and not just from the climb). Final Verdict: Less tourist trap, more soul map. A divine spot where earth meets the stars — and your horoscope finally makes sense.
Rajdeep D — Google review
If you truly want to experience Guwahati, this place is it. Located on top of a hill, this Temple gives you a panoramic view of the city on one side and the Brahmaputra river on the other. North Guwahati is clearly visible from here as well. The road up is steep but nothing too bad like all those years ago when it was a challenge to get to this Temple. One thing to note: be careful of the monkeys!
Nayan D — Google review
I recently visited Navagraha Temple, located on top of Navagraha Hill in Guwahati, and it was a truly peaceful and divine experience. The temple is dedicated to the nine celestial planets (Navagrahas), and each one is represented by a Shiva Linga. The spiritual energy here is very calming, and the chants and atmosphere make it a special place to visit. The view from the top is absolutely beautiful — you get a clear view of the city and the Brahmaputra River, especially during sunrise or sunset. The walk or drive uphill is smooth, and there’s a calm vibe all around. I also saw many people offering puja to reduce the negative effects of certain planets in their horoscopes. There’s no entry fee, and you can buy flowers, diyas, and offerings just outside the temple. It’s well-maintained and clean. I’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone visiting Guwahati — whether for spiritual reasons or just for the scenic beauty. 🛕✨🙏

The Navagraha Temple, meaning “Temple of the Nine Celestial Bodies”, is one of the most important and ancient temples in Assam. It is dedicated to the Navagrahas (Nine Planets in Hindu mythology) and plays a major role in astrological and spiritual traditions. Built in the 18th century by Ahom King Rajeswar Singha, the temple is not just a religious site but also an important center of ancient astronomical study. --- Religious & Astrological Significance: The temple houses nine Shivalingas, each symbolizing one of the Navagrahas (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu). Each Linga is covered with a colored cloth representing the corresponding planet. The Sun God (Surya) is considered the presiding deity of the temple. Devotees come here to neutralize malefic effects of certain planets in their horoscope through rituals and offerings. --- Architecture & Atmosphere: The temple is built in traditional Ahom-style architecture using brick and stone. It has a red domed roof typical of Assamese temples, with a central sanctum housing the Navagraha deities. Though damaged in the 1897 earthquake, parts of the original structure remain, and the temple continues to exude an ancient, sacred aura. The view from the hilltop location is mesmerizing, offering a peaceful panorama of the Brahmaputra River and the cityscape of Guwahati. --- Spiritual Experience: The temple is often filled with the chanting of mantras and rituals by priests performing Navagraha puja. Many astrologers and pandits sit outside the temple, offering horoscope readings and remedies. A serene, spiritual energy fills the atmosphere, especially in the early morning hours. --- It's a popular pilgrimage site for those seeking astrological remedies or blessings from the planetary deities. The temple is particularly crowded on Sundays and during eclipses, believed to be astrologically powerful times. Both locals and tourists visit for religious, cultural, and even educational purposes. --- Rich in spiritual and astrological significance Panoramic view from the hill Calm and peaceful surroundings Historical and cultural importance The stairs up the hill might be tiring for some elderly visitors. Surrounding infrastructure could be better maintained. Can be crowded during peak times and religious festivals. Best time to visit: Early morning or around sunset Carry water and wear comfortable shoes for the climb. If interested in astrology, consult a temple priest or pandit for a personalized puja or planetary remedy. Don’t miss the panoramic view of the city from the temple. The Navagraha Temple is more than just a place of worship — it's a blend of mythology, astrology, history, and peace. Whether you are a believer, a spiritual seeker, or a traveler interested in cultural heritage, this temple is a must-visit destination in Guwahati.

Navagraha Mandir Guwahati Assam Located on Navagraha Pahar or Chitrachal Pahar in Guwahati. A very old temple and most probably was renovated/rebuilt by Raja Rajeswar Singha. It was damaged due to earthquake in 1837. The inscriptions show the nine planets holding the Sun. Daily puja is carried out. People perform Yagna here. Navagraha Mandir is around 3.1 km from Guwahati Rail Station. A beautiful view of the Guwahati City and Bhrahmaputra river can be observed from there. ****

The temple is dark inside, with only one open duct for ventilation, seems a place meant more for meditation and prayer in silence Build on top of mountain where people reach would have been limited, in ancient times. Can have a scenic view of city and Brahmputra river And STAY CAREFUL WITH MONKEY

The Navagraha Temple is dedicated to the nine celestial bodies (Navagrahas) in Hindu astrology. It's a unique and important pilgrimage site. The best time to visit the Navagraha Temple is during the winter months, from October to March. The nine Shiva Lingas, each representing a planet and adorned with specific colored cloths, offer a visually distinct and meaningful representation of the Navagrahas.Perched atop the Chitrasal Hill, the temple offers a peaceful and calming spiritual atmosphere. The climb up the hill adds to the sense of pilgrimage. From the temple premises, you are treated to beautiful panoramic views of Guwahati city and the majestic Brahmaputra River. This makes for a picturesque backdrop, especially during sunrise and sunset, when the sky can be quite mesmerizing. The lush greenery around the temple adds to its charm and provides a sense of tranquility away from the city's hustle and bustle. While you should be cautious, the presence of playful monkeys can add a lively touch to the surroundings, entertaining visitors. The blend of ancient traditions, the spiritual energy, and the natural beauty creates an unforgettable experience. The scent of incense and the sounds of chanting contribute to a truly immersive spiritual environment. The Navagraha Temple in Guwahati may not boast the intricate sculptures of some grander temples, but its beauty lies in its unique astrological significance, its serene hilltop setting offering breathtaking views, and its historical simplicity that evokes a deep sense of peace and spiritual connection. It's a place where history, astronomy, and devotion intertwine beautifully.

Deepor Beel, it's a haven for migratory birds, offering breathtaking views and a chance to connect with nature. However, its growing popularity as a picnic spot & nearby shops are polluting the area by throwing garbage, threatening the delicate ecosystem. Basistha Temple, situated in the serene surroundings of Beltola, Guwahati, is an ancient Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Believed to have been founded by the legendary sage Vashistha, it is one of the oldest temples in Assam and a popular spiritual retreat. The temple complex exudes tranquility and offers a picturesque forest setting ideal for meditation and worship.
The Basistha Temple in Guwahati, which I recently visited, was a stunning fusion of spirituality, history, and nature. It is thought to have been constructed in the 18th century by Rajeswar Singha, the monarch of Ahom, and is devoted to Lord Shiva. The location has significant mythological significance and is said to have been the meditation place of the Rishi Vashishtha. The temple, which is surrounded by hills, streams, and lush foliage, is a peaceful tourist destination in Guwahati in addition to being a place of worship. Devotees and tourists will find the temple convenient as it opens early (about 5 AM) and stays open until nightfall. Early morning visits are more tranquil because there are fewer visitors and the sound of running water is present. For tourists interested in heritage, spirituality, and the beauty of nature, Guwahati is unquestionably worth a visit. Anyone visiting Assam should make time to visit this place.

The Basistha Temple in Guwahati has received mixed reviews regarding recent improvements. While the approach and entrance are generally considered clean and well-maintained, with a reduction in touts, the condition of the stream and surrounding areas has been criticized for litter and reduced water flow. Monkeys are also noted as a common presence and potential nuisance. Positive aspects: Improved cleanliness and order: Reviews highlight a cleaner entrance and a more organized parking situation (though it's now paid). Friendly staff: The priests are generally described as friendly and not demanding money. Spiritual atmosphere: The temple's location and surroundings are praised for their serene and tranquil atmosphere, making it a good place for meditation and spiritual reflection. Historical and cultural significance: The temple's history as the ashram of the sage Basistha and its location amidst natural beauty add to its appeal. Natural beauty: The presence of a river, hills, and greenery around the temple is a major draw for visitors. Areas needing improvement: Water quality: Some reviewers have noted a reduction in the stream's flow and a decline in the water's cleanliness, making it unappealing for drinking directly. Cleanliness of surrounding areas: Litter and waste are mentioned as concerns in areas near the temple and stream. Monkey nuisance: Monkeys are a common sight and can be a nuisance to visitors. Development and maintenance: Some reviews suggest that the temple and its surroundings could be better developed and maintained to enhance the visitor experience. Accessibility: One review notes the lack of a wheelchair-accessible entrance. Overall: The Basistha Temple offers a peaceful and spiritually enriching experience, particularly for those seeking a connection with nature and history. However, improvements are needed in areas like cleanliness, water management, and monkey control to enhance the overall visitor experience and maintain the temple's sanctity.

I don’t like to give stars for the holy places. But to consider the ambience, shops and services around the place I prefer to give reviews that someday it would be upgraded by the government. The mandir is no doubt espy having spiritual vibes, it was the place of Sage Vashisht, one of the pioneer sages. But the surroundings are poorly maintained. No dustbins, the commercial area in front of temple is giving poor look to this place, parking and unhygienic habits of locals and tourists. Cleanliness is the big issue. There has to be some strict rules to maintain the holiness and gravity of this historical place.

Basistha Temple is a beautiful and peaceful place surrounded by hills, streams, and a waterfall. The atmosphere is calm and spiritual, making it a great spot for both nature lovers and devotees. The sound of flowing water and the lush greenery add to the charm. ⚠️However, I noticed plastic bottles and wrappers being thrown near the waterfall area. This spoils the natural beauty and harms the animals living nearby. I really hope visitors become more responsible and dispose of their waste properly. A little care from everyone can keep this place as clean and pure as it deserves to be. I have attached this pic for reference. 🌿 Tip: Visit early in the morning for a peaceful experience, carry your own water, and take your trash back with you. Let’s keep this treasure clean!

Basistha Temple – Where Mythology and Nature Embrace Serenity Located at the scenic foothills of the Garbhanga forest in Guwahati, Basistha Temple is a hidden gem steeped in mythology, tranquility, and natural beauty. Dedicated to Sage Vashistha, the ashram-style temple stands beside the sparkling Basistha River, believed to be one of three mythological streams originating from the hills. The temple's serene surroundings, ancient stone carvings, and spiritual aura make it a peaceful retreat for both devotees and tourists. As legend holds, this was the meditation site of Sage Vashistha, making it a sacred place for seekers of wisdom and calm. A short trek leads to a majestic waterfall, enhancing the temple's natural charm. Unlike bustling urban shrines, Basistha offers a blend of spiritual depth and ecological richness, perfect for meditation, quiet reflection, or a nature-filled escape. A visit here feels like stepping into a living story of ancient India, embraced by forests and faith.

Guwahati War Memorial, located near Nehru Park and the Ropeway, is a serene and well-maintained site dedicated to honoring the martyrs of Guwahati's historical past. Established by the Rajya Sainik Board, it pays tribute to all those who sacrificed their lives. The memorial features a statue of the renowned warrior Lachit Borphukan and his army, along with modern war equipment on display.

It showcases the Vijayanta Tank, a fighter jet, missiles, and a portrayal of the Great Battle of Saraighat. There is also a small museum at the end. There’s no entry fee although you can voluntarily donate.
Rahul D — Google review
The memorial was inaugurated on August 15, 2016, by then‑CM Sarbananda Sonowal, marking Assam’s first state-level war memorial . It's dedicated to Assam’s war heroes—from the legendary 1671 Battle of Saraighat to modern conflicts like Kargil, the 1971 naval attack on Karachi, and the 1962 Sino‑Indian War . Positioned right beside the historic Dighalipukhuri pond and opposite the High Court, the memorial features lush gardens and peaceful pathways . Eye-catching elements include a Vijayanta tank, a MiG‑27ML fighter jet (TS‑522), and a P‑20 naval missile, displayed on raised platforms . The centerpiece is a tall central pillar inscribed with names of Assam’s fallen soldiers, accompanied by plaques and 3D reliefs illustrating key battles . A life-size “Amar Jawan” statue, reverse-saluting soldier sculpture, and reproductions of Saraighat-era Ahom warship and Lachit Barphukan’s statue further enhance its gravity . No Entry Fee: Free access, though donations are welcome to help maintain the site . How to reach: Located at Fatick Chandra Rd, Latasil (near Kamakhya Railway Junction, ~3 km); accessible via auto, bus, or walk . Best time: Weekdays, mornings (around 10 AM) or evenings. The Guwahati War Memorial is a poignant and educational tribute to Assam’s defense heroes. It skillfully combines historical storytelling with military displays and a meditative landscape. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a family looking for a quiet outing, or someone seeking a moment of reflection, this memorial offers something meaningful.

This place is great for hangouts and war informations, kids and war material lovers would find this place perfect for spending time. Another good thing is that you don't need any ticket for this place, but you might contribute for the construction of this place and the guards/officers might ask you for some contribution in the donation box, but they will definitely not for you for it...

Excellent use of space amidst the busy area! Its a pleasant place to vist and know more about the Indian military. The good thing is that one can read about various battles, dating back to the pre-independence era. Rather than spending hours in a mall, sometimes its better to visit such places which inspires citizens of his civic duties.

The War Memorial is located beside Dighlipukhuri,Guwahati. It is located opposite the Assam Museum. Statues of the great warrior Lachit Borphukan and his army are the main attraction. People can learn about Assam's brief history, culture, Indian army equipment and Indian history there. The war memorial is dedicated to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. It serves as a powerful tribute to their bravery and selflessness. The place is well maintained and furnished. Museums and artefacts provide a lot of valuable information. I would recommend everyone to visit this place while traveling to Guwahati. This memorial is closed on Tuesdays.

ALFRESCO GRAND offers a scenic evening river cruise on the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati, providing breathtaking views of the sunset and sunrise. Guests can enjoy live music, cultural activities like folk dance and music, and an island party. The experience includes welcome drinks and snacks, with the option to purchase from a well-stocked bar. The buffet dinner is available at an extra cost. The cruise also features a roof deck for panoramic views of the river banks.
BEAUTIFUL experience. We booked mid-level seats but were fortunately upgraded to the top level. It took a while for everyone to board but when we finally embarked, it was at a beautiful time. Just before sunset. So when we were in the water, we experienced some beautiful views. The staff was especially helpful and dedicated to satisfying the patrons. Shortly after we left the shore, we started hearing old hindi music playing from the speakers. We thought nothing of it, and to our surprise, it was LIVE. A singer was singing so well that we assumed naturally it was the recorded original playing. The top level of the cruise was filled with people who wanted to take pictures, but each person was so kind and respectful. Truly reflecting the nature of people in Guwahati. Tourists, locals, oldies, young chaps, all were on board. It was an extremely amazing experience, have a look at the pics & videos !

Visited on a hot September evening for the sunset cruise. Reached at 4:40 for the 5 pm. We had booked the upper deck where you are guided to a table (750 A, 600 C pp). It was not crowded and super full which meant we could move around and take pictures. The music also ( from the lower deck ) was mellow and nice. The cruise in itself is pleasant and goes for about 55 mins and feels very relaxing and nice. The Umananda temple island , the Brahmaputra river views were superb as skies shine in their own colours on the vast canvas. The pricing seems for the cruise seems ok but would have been nice to throw in a starter or a non alcoholic drink. The boarding point / ghat needs maintenance . Staff is nice and polite , definitely a good experience as a tourist

It was a wonderful experience,we chose the upper deck during sunset time. View was awesome . Food was good ,cold coffee was little less cold and thick... Experience is must if ur visiting guwahati. U can also visit middle deck where u can enjoy live music, little and tiny water droplets from the roof.. There u can also hit the dance floor on music. I skipped the food options,I jst choose the cruise ride as u have the options to order whatever u like .
Gaurav L — Google review
I saw this from reddit in a lot of posts and decided to give it a try - too much hype for the experience or their expectations were too low. The cruise is just okay - the music that was played and sang were disrupting the mood altogether. Just going in the river with some loud music - they serve beer and alcohol so that’s a plus. Maybe the family groups enjoyed quite a bit it seemed. Brahmaputra was beautiful but the experience was not as great.
Sarath K — Google review
This is one of the best activities in Guwahati. However due to high demand, you need to book in advance by phone to secure the booking. You can then make the payment once you reach to their office prior to boarding the cruise.
Afsan K — Google review
We did the sunset cruise. As foreigners, we found it impossible to purchase tickets online. Our driver facilitated the purchase for us. There is a ticket counter, so assuming it is possible to drive by and purchase tickets there in advance. It was a pleasant enough trip down the Brahmaputra. The boat was clean and we had assigned seating on the middle deck. The upper deck is really where you want to be if the weather is nice (in our case, it was threatening rain, so the middle deck was fine). Our sunset cruise had live music and dancing (with a disco ball) which the locals seemed to really enjoy. We were lucky to be seated on the bar end of the deck away from the speakers. The bar had a nice selection of alcoholic drinks and the menu had a nice selection of food for ordering. That said, we did not eat anything.

Sights & Landmarks
Located in the Silpukhuri area of Guwahati, Assam, the Guwahati War Cemetery is a burial ground situated 2.5 km away from Guwahati Railway Station. It is considered one of the significant historical sites in Assam and is highly recommended for visitors to explore. Initially established during World War II as a final resting place for military hospital patients, it later became a repository for additional graves managed by the Army Graves Service.
I visited this place on the second day of exploring Guwahati. The place wasn't hard to find, I reached Silpukhuri by bus and had to walk only a few steps to get there. It is situated in one of the prime locations of the city. One of the most notable things I would say was well to do maintenance that has been done in this place. The place is quiet and peaceful. One can spend time here in the summers as the wind brushes off your face which feels nice and cool. There were lots of flowers there which were pretty to look at. Moreover while walking I was able to see the names of the soldiers who lost their lives in the Second world war and was able to sense the historical significance linked to this place. Therefore it was a nice experience to remember. ~12th May, 2023

This is a well maintained cemetery relating to be the Second World War (1939-1945). Here lies buried around 500 personals from the army and airforce who lost their lives during the war. A visit to this cemetery makes one realize the negative effects of a war which leads to the loss of life.

Resting place of World WarII brave soldiers. This place have historical significance but least known. Take a walk along the graves of those brave hearts who sacrificed their life for the country. With soldiers as young as 22 years being martyred here you will feel weak at heart. The place is well groomed with lush green grasses and beautiful flowers. It's very peaceful and calm. One can spend a hot summer day here in the shades of the huge trees around.

The Cemetery was started during the Second World War for burials from the several military hospitals posted in the area. Later, other graves were brought in by the Army Graves Service. There are now 486 Commonwealth servicemen of the Second World War buried or commemorated in this cemetery. Of these, 25 burials are unidentified. The cemetery also contains 24 Chinese war graves, and two non-war graves. The place is quite peaceful and beautiful.

June 2025: It’s located on the riverbank — not very large, but well-maintained and with a certain charm. The tall trees around the area had a large number of crows perched on them, which made the place feel a bit eerie — they were very loud. I visited on a hot, bright morning, and unfortunately, one of the birds left an unpleasant surprise on my hair. Still, the place has its own character and is worth a short visit if you're in the area. There’s also a house-like structure on the premises with photo frames detailing the history of the place, along with some information about old engines. It has a first floor as well. The view of the Brahmaputra River is quite nice Even though the water was not clear due to rain. Ticket: Rs. 100 It has washroom for visitors. Only Starbucks for snacks or beverages.

A British-era bungalow on a hillock that used to be the 17th century military office of the Ahom rulers has been converted into a heritage centre depicting life along the Brahmaputra River. Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu on October 3 inaugurated the Mahabahu Brahmaputra River Heritage Centre on Guwahati’s Barphukanar Tila, meaning Barphukan’s Hillock. A Scottish-type wooden bungalow standing since 1850 was renovated and converted into the heritage centre. Barpukhan was a post equivalent to Governor General created by Ahom king Pratap Simha or Susengpha (1603-1641). The hillock by the Brahmaputra, mentioned in ancient scriptures as Mandrachal, was from where Ahom General Lachit Barpukhan launched the Battle of Saraighat in March 1671 to inflict the most crushing defeat on the Mughals. Saraighat is regarded as the “greatest naval battle ever fought in a river”. Captain Archibald Bogle, posted as the Assistant Commissioner and Collector of Kamrup district in the 1850s, had the bungalow built. Post-Independence, it continued to be the Deputy Commissioner’s Bungalow until 2011. “Standing as a grand tribute to the majestic river and capturing its significance to the region, the Brahmaputra River Heritage Centre has been set up in a nearly 150-year-old bungalow after an elaborate restoration,” Mr. Naidu said. He called for a national campaign for rejuvenating Indian rivers and the inclusion of lessons on water conservation in the school curricula. Appreciating the Brahmaputra Heritage centre, the Vice-President said other cultural places too should create green and healthy spaces for people. The centre has on display the history of the Battle of Saraighat, the heritage of Assamese war boats, an amphitheatre, an exhibition space, a cafeteria and two viewing decks. The other attractions include a collection of traditional fishing equipment, photographs and artefacts related to the history of Guwahati and river transport, installations depicting the textile designs, ethnic motifs and indigenous musical instruments of communities inhabiting the banks of the Brahmaputra.

It is a beautiful place on the bank of river Brahmaputra. The park is nicely maintained with varieties of plants. The old DC Bunglow is preserved as heritage building where the ancient Assam historical monuments are kept for visitor's access. The scenic beauty of Sun set across the Saraighat bridge is amazing. One can enjoy the quet moment here with fresh air. Visitors enjoys the place.

Entry fee is 100 or 20 if you are going to starbucks (need to show the bill). The old bungalow renovated into a museum is awesome and is worth a watch. What is even better is the sunset from the decks. Though on the day we went there was a huge group doing some choreography dance with loud music which breaks the serenity of the place. Recommended to visit around sunset

Waste of money, just because Guwahati people have less options for entertainment etc you can't charge or give anything and say it's the best. 750₹/adult and 600₹/child is over pricy for just only 1hour of boat/cruise ride.. No entertainment except just few songs being played on middle deck... At the end of cruise few good songs are played where people dance, but it's too late.. Have good food/drinks options...

I had heard bad reviews about the Brahmaputra cruise that the river was dirty and stinky. Mh experience was reverse of that. We chose the Al Fresco for our new year eve cruise.we started from the shore in a ferry at around 8:00pm. After around 500 metres, they transferred us to a ship which had three floors. Reserved seats were on the top Deck. We were served tea and some snacks. At this point, I despised their ways a little because they served snacks on a paper napkins. Plus the upper deck was pretty cold that evening. After about 40 mins we were approaching an island with tiny lights. It looked promising. Just as the boat drew closer to the dock, all lights turned on in full bollywood grandeur. What a sight! We eagerly climbed down the boat and on to the island. Beautifully decorated with lamps and red carpets, tea light, dj consoles and bonfire, it was heaven on sand. They served snacks and drinks on counters while live music and dj played. Dinner was served on the boat . It was a lovely evening.

My Peaceful Visit to the Science Museum –A Short Review Visit Timing: I visited the museum on a weekday from 11:00 to 11:30 AM. The atmosphere was peaceful and uncrowded, ideal for a relaxed experience. Entry & Parking: The ticket counter is now shifted to the left side of the entrance gate, which is easy to access. Since I arrived early, I parked my car outside the museum and didn’t inquire about on-campus parking. They provided parking in a designated lot on previous visits, though I didn’t explore it this time. Exhibits & Facilities: The exhibits were in excellent condition, and clear, helpful notes beside each item made them great for learners and enthusiasts alike. A thoughtful initiative was the addition of comfortable sofas between exhibits, making the experience more relaxing and visitor-friendly. Photo Booth: On the first floor, a photo-taking centre with fun, preloaded backgrounds, such as Marvel characters. I only checked out the Marvel ones, but other exciting backgrounds may be worth exploring. Food Options: We had food from the in-house restaurant. The food was decent, but it's the only on-campus option. If you're looking for more variety, you must go off-campus. The nearest options are along GS Road or at the start of Jayanagar Chariali, which is a bit of a distance away. Final Thoughts: My visit to the museum was calm and educational. The well-maintained environment, thoughtful seating, and engaging features like the photo booth made it a pleasant experience. I recommend it to families, students, or anyone curious about science. Just plan ahead for food if you’re a picky eater!

Went there after a decade, used to came at this place in my school days as an educational trip, GOT NOSTALGIA, well the fun that I used to have isn't there now, lots of things has changed, also some gadgets aren't working, PARKS are under construction. THE ONLY GOOD THING WERE THE 3D SHOW, RABBITS & AQUATIC LIFE. ALSO DINOSAUR PARK was fine, but a lot of mosquitoes.

Nice place, had an amazing experience. The Regional Science Centre, popularly known as the Science Museum, in Khanapara, Guwahati, is a fantastic destination for science enthusiasts and families alike. Located at Jawahar Nagar, this museum, established in 1994 under the National Council of Science Museums, offers an engaging, hands-on approach to learning about science and technology. During my recent visit, I was impressed by the vibrant science park and interactive indoor exhibits like the Magic Tap, Fun Mirror, and Cliff Lift, which make complex concepts accessible and fun for all ages. The 3D cinema projection, a first in Northeast India, was a highlight, with its thrilling visuals and immersive experience, especially when paired with 3D glasses. The Digital Planetarium, showcasing space dynamics and celestial bodies, was equally mesmerizing, offering a virtual stargazing adventure. The prehistoric park and large aquarium added a unique touch, though some exhibits, like the coal mine, felt slightly dated, and maintenance could be improved (e.g., fixing non-functional instruments like the body index machine). The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, enhancing the educational value. Entry fees are reasonable (INR 25 for individuals, INR 10–15 for school groups), and the museum is open from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, except on Holi and Diwali. Accessibility is easy via taxis or buses from Guwahati Railway Station (11 km) or the airport (32 km). The cafeteria offers decent snacks, but food options are limited, so plan accordingly. Overall, this museum is a must-visit for its blend of education and entertainment, perfect for students and curious minds!

Dreamland Amusement Park is a charming and delightful destination featuring water slides, go-karts, food vendors, and even a snow park. While the park offers limited non-water rides, it's perfect for spending a fun-filled 6-7 hours on holidays. Admission fees are reasonable at 500 for adults and 300 for kids. Visitors can enjoy the water activities, although some have expressed concerns about water cleanliness.
Awesome experience. Great location . Food was yummy too . Full on entertainment. Total dhamal . Snow house was just too good .

It's like the lite version of Accoland ... Rides were ok ... But water park was very small in size and less water rides ...most of them were accessible only by wearing swim suits which we have to rent from there... However if you stay nearby khanapara .. and want an affordable amusement park experience .. then you can visit
Shibir A — Google review
Most of the rides are not maintained and except the water, nothia is like amusement. Not even there's a single 3D effect in 5D show. Disgusting and pathetic.
Nabajyoti G — Google review
The experience was too bad. There was some shooting going on which we were not informed about while getting the tickets and hence we could not enjoy the pool area. When I complained in their given number, they sent a lady who said that it was okay to access the pool and the awkwardness of 30-35 people sitting above and watching while 3-4 of you are alone on the pool and the cameras coming all the sides should not be an issue. And then the worst part was when I wanted to access the long slides after the shooting was over, a staff said I had to rent a swimsuit and on trying to rent one, they said payment could be made through CASH ONLY. I had cards and UPI only, how the hell was I supposed to get cash!! I could not access that as a result. 1-2 staff down the pool area who interacted were absolutely disgusting. Not worth visiting I would strongly suggest.
Rajarshi D — Google review
Its average. The rides are old and not too exciting. The place is in hills and it is exhausting to move between spots. The staff is friendly and rude to some degree. You can enjoy if you go with your friends but have to try hard to be excited.

Average, lack of rides, poor maintenance. Don't keep much expectations, specially the ice park was a disappointment. Jackets and boots for ice park were very dirty you'd not want to touch it at all👎👎👎, washroom and changing room was good 👍👍👍

This amusement park is horrible. If you don't want to waste your money then keep away from this park. I've visited this park yesterday. The water is dirty. I've doubt if they ever change the water. The slides are limitted and you'll end up within one and half hour to cover the whole park. In snow park there is no snow only frost like ice. Costumes are dirty and bad smells comes out. If you want to really enjoy water park then accoland Guwahati is better option.

Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Perched atop the Sarania hills in Guwahati, the Jagannath Temple, also known as Sri Sri Rukmini Krishna Temple, is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Krishna and named after his wife, Rukmini. Belonging to the ISKCON society founded by Sri Bhakti Vedanta Swami Prabhupada, this temple is renowned for its spiritual significance and captivating architecture.
ISKCON is indeed a great place to spend some quiet time in meditation in utter peace and tranquility. Located at jayanagar Rd it gives a vantage view of the bustling city below. One can enter the main hall and sit and pray or just think for a moment about existence and the meaning of life....no answers can be guaranteed but the inner silence is enough to give one some solace, There is a vegetarian lunch every day for which one has to buy coupons and enjoy a lovely tasty repast in the dining hall nearby. Sometimes if you are lucky one can hear and participate in bhajans ...in fact on Janmasthami day the ISKCON disciples take out the bhajan parties in different parts of the city to sing the praises of Lord Krishna. A must visit place for all visitors to spend an hour or two......

The Guwahati Rope Way is a newly added attraction that offers a thrilling and enjoyable ride spanning approximately 1.8 km from the bank of Guwahati city to North Guwahati bank. It provides breathtaking panoramic views of the city, Brahmaputra River, Umananda Island, and the surrounding landscapes. Whether you're a local or visitor, this experience is highly recommended for its unique and memorable perspective of the area. The ropeway ride is especially stunning during sunset.
I recently had the pleasure of riding the Guwahati Rope Way, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The rope way offers breathtaking views of the majestic River Brahmaputra, and I was left awestruck by the sheer beauty of it all. The ride itself was smooth and comfortable, with modern and well-maintained cable cars. The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring that everyone had a safe and enjoyable experience. But the real star of the show was the stunning view of the Brahmaputra River. The rope way takes you high above the river, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. I was mesmerized by the sight of the river snaking its way through the city, with the lush green hills of the Eastern Himalayas providing a stunning backdrop. Whether you're a local or a tourist, the Guwahati Rope Way is a must-visit attraction. It's a great way to experience the natural beauty of Guwahati and take in the sights and sounds of the city. *Rating:* 5/5 stars *Pros:* Breathtaking views of the Brahmaputra River, smooth and comfortable ride, friendly and helpful staff *Cons:* None! *Recommendation:* Don't miss the Guwahati Rope Way! It's a unique and unforgettable experience that will leave you with lifelong memories. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the stunning views!"

"Guwahati city's ropeway ride is amazing! The view of the Brahmaputra River is awesome. The ropeway is connected to a mountain where Lord Umananda's temple is located. The view of the temple from the ropeway is very beautiful. There's also a beautifully designed park near the ropeway entry point, making it an excellent spot for families, children, school students, and college students. I highly recommend this place, especially for couples who frequently fight, to experience peace and stunning views."🤗❤️
Mr.Rekib R — Google review
The Guwahati Ropeway experience was okay, but the ticketing process needs improvement. We reached the counter around 12:20 PM, but the staff stopped issuing tickets saying the cars were full and they were going on a lunch break. We had to wait until 1:20 PM, which was quite frustrating. Also, on weekends they don’t allow two-way tickets, so we had to pay ₹100 each way per person, instead of the ₹150 two-way option — costing ₹50 more per person. The ride itself is enjoyable and takes about 10 minutes one way. The ticket queue time varies a lot depending on the crowd. There are sitting arrangements near the ticket counter, which is a plus. Overall, a decent experience but could be much better with proper management and clear communication.
Vijayendra K — Google review
The Guwahati Ropeway offers a breathtaking view of the mighty Brahmaputra River and the cityscape. The ride is smooth, safe, and well-maintained, making it a great experience for families and tourists. Ticket prices are reasonable, and the staff is helpful and polite. The ropeway connects guwahati to north Guwahati. It does not provide connectivity between guwahati and umananda temple. The one way ticket per person is Rs.100/-. The rush is normal. The staff is well behaved. The site is beautiful and well managed. It has all the amenities like washrooms and drinking water. The brahmputra river looks beautiful from above. One should visit atleast once for the view.

A Must-Do for the Views, But Be Prepared for the Heat! The Guwahati Ropeway offers an absolutely breathtaking experience with truly amazing views of the Brahmaputra River and the surrounding landscape. As you ascend, the panorama unfolds beautifully, making for some fantastic photo opportunities and a memorable perspective of Guwahati. It's a definite must-do for anyone looking to see the city from above. The staff are incredibly cooperative and helpful, ensuring a smooth boarding and disembarking process. Their pleasant demeanor adds to the overall positive experience. However, there's a significant drawback: the heat inside the ropeway cars is extremely intense, with virtually no ventilation. On a sunny day, it can feel like an oven, which unfortunately detracts from fully enjoying the journey. This is a clear area where the infrastructure could use a major improvement. Better ventilation, perhaps even some air conditioning, would elevate the experience significantly. Despite the heat, the unparalleled views make the Guwahati Ropeway worth a visit. Just be sure to go on a cooler day if possible, or be prepared for a very warm ride! With a bit of investment in passenger comfort, this attraction could easily be five-star.

I visited this place with my friend. It is on a small hill, but no stairs. You can go by walking, cycle, or car easily. Morning time (6:30 AM to 8 AM) is free, best for walking or doing exercise. After 8 AM, you need to buy a ₹50 ticket. Good things: The view is amazing from east side. We saw sunrise – very peaceful and nice 🌞 It is quiet and not crowded. You can take photos outside. One small museum is there. Inside museum, you cannot take photos and cannot wear shoes. Good for couples also, very calm place. Bad things: No drinking water available. So carry your own water bottle. No problems happened, everything was fine. Evening time also good. You can see full Guwahati and Brahmaputra river from top. Final words: If you want peace, good view, and nature – Gandhi Mandap is the best place in Guwahati. Go in morning or evening for best experience. 😊💯

Dr Bhupen Hazarika is the most well-known personality of Assam. Besides being a singer he was a music composer and film maker also. As a social activist he was prominent one in his days. He was awarded Dada Saheb Falke Award along with President`s Award for film making and National Award for music composition. He sang the highest number of Assamese song in films till date. His `samadhi` is situated at Jalukbari near Guwahati. The place was calm and quiet even few days ago. Now roads from Goyalpara and other places make it bit noisy. But the samadhi garden is really nice. The monument built in his memory is a good example of sculpture. The statue of Dr Hazarika is also a great work. The ambiance of this place makes the visitors to remember the great singer. Camera photography is not allowed inside the park, though there is no objection in use of mobile phone camera. The greenery of the park is praiseworthy. But the `Anant Jyoti` is not visible though it was promised earlier.

Was trying since the day the place had been established but for several circumstances I couldn't made it but this time I went there and totally loved the vibe as I don't have to describe about Dr. Bhupen Hazarika but from being apart from my knowledge about his journey after my visit I felt how immensely incredible jewel he was. And the vibe of the place is so called good but the vibe of the museum is actually very nice.

Visiting Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Kshetra was a poignant experience. The tranquil surroundings and beautiful tributes honored his remarkable legacy. His music has been a significant part of my life, and being at the samadhi evoked a deep sense of gratitude and respect. It was a moment of reflection and connection, reminding me of the power of art to transcend boundaries and touch hearts. Thank you❤

Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Khetra is the final resting place of the legendary "Sudhakantha" Dr. Bhupen Hazarika who was a playback singer, lyricist, poet, musician, filmmaker and balladeer who is widely admired not only in native Assam but across the country. He passed away on the 5th of November, 2011. It is located in Jalukbari, Guwahati, just beside the Gauhati University. It is a memorial site that celebrates his life and works. There's a museum in his remembrance, which we couldn't enter as it was closed that day, Speakers all around the place play his melodies all the time. There's no ticket system, you just need to sign on a register during your entry. Beautifully maintained. Definitely worth a visit✨

Park
Dighalipukhuri Park in Guwahati is a captivating sightseeing spot with a serene lake that offers boating facilities. The park's lake has historical significance as it was once a naval harbor connected to the Brahmaputra. Visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty of the park, relax under the trees, and engage in recreational activities. With separate areas for children to play and various swings, it's an ideal place for families to unwind.
Dighalipukhuri has always been more than just a scenic spot; it’s a piece of history, a peaceful escape nestled in the heart of Guwahati. The serene waters and the shade from the towering trees surrounding it offer a sanctuary from the bustle of city life. But now, as plans for a bridge loom overhead, every X-marked tree speaks of an impending loss. The place I once loved will soon live only in my memories, as this natural haven is reshaped and sacrificed for urban progress.

Dighalipukhuri is a historic, man-made rectangular pond about half a mile long, surrounded by a landscaped park covering roughly 17–18 bigha . Legend attributes its creation to King Bhagadatta for his daughter’s svayamvara. It later served as an Ahom-era naval dockyard . ⏱️ Access & Entry Opening hours: Typically 8:30 AM–5:30 PM. Some sources suggest extended hours till 8 PM . Entry fee: Around ₹10–20 per adult; children often enter free . 🚣 Activities & Amenities Boating: Paddle boats available (~₹40–50 per person), ideal for romantic rides or quiet reflection . Children’s play area: A fun zone with swings, slides, seesaws—great for family outings . Walking & jogging: Tree-lined paths invite morning walks, yoga, and exercise . Street food & café: Eateries and stalls near the park serve local snacks and light meals . Dighalipukhuri Park is a gentle gem within Guwahati’s cityscape—rich in history, greenery, and communal value. It’s affordable, inviting, and family-friendly with a calm ambiance perfect for couples, fitness enthusiasts, and solo visitors alike. While cleanliness and development plans warrant attention, its cultural and environmental significance make it a must-visit.

Deepor Beel Wildlife Sanctuary is a significant riverine wetland in the Brahmaputra Valley, located around 10 km southwest of Guwahati, Assam. It serves as a crucial storm-water storage basin for the city and is home to diverse flora and fauna.
It’s a wonderful rejuvenation place. If you want some peace and to sit alone and plan something you can always do it here. Apart from that yes you would get some local small 🐠 fish
Emmanuel B — Google review
Deepor beel is nice relaxing place especially for nature enthusiasts. I visited this place for the first time on 21 Nov 2024.. Place provide astounding lake view with plenty of birds around. How ever I was able to capture only few birds like, Asian stork, Pied myna, White patches wagtail, citrine wagtail, Swamphen, Kingfisher, Egret, heron and few more.. This place also provide decent food points in case if you want to munch, Also a public toilet which is not great. This place requires cleaning and few watch points and well maintained toilets so that it will attract more visitors. If Govt works on this project then this can also be turned into a great bird sanctuary. because the small islands on this lake should not be touched by humans so that migratory birds can make their nest we can watch them from far away distance.. Just my thoughts.. However, This is a great place for small picnics for family and friends. Can easily kill 3 to 4 hours enjoying a great view on the lap of greenery.

Breakfast restaurant
If you're wandering through Guwahati, make sure to stop by JB's on GS Road in Pan Bazar, a delightful haven for those who adore Indian sweets and snacks. This charming eatery boasts an impressive array of traditional treats like Rasgulla, Jalebi, and Sandesh, all crafted with top-notch ingredients to ensure authentic flavors that will tantalize your taste buds.
JB's, one of the oldest vegetarian eateries of Guwahati, holds decades of glory. From its sweets, to its once unique savoury dishes, it has now embraced itself into a full-fledged restaurant serving various Indian dishes. What has not gone down in its years of journey, is the quality they offer to its customers. It was one of the finest sweet shops when it opened its first branch in Christian Basti, and hands down, it still holds its chair very firmly. A must visit for a variety of sweets, namkeens, breakfast options and also to catch up over brunch.
Ananya D — Google review
The food was horrible and their service is even more horrible. The way they treat the customers is just hopeless. Abhijit the manager has no manners, he enjoys his pan masala while talking to customers. Not at all recommended.
Dewesh M — Google review
I occasionally visit JBs for a quick munching and here’s my honest review: Ambiance: 2/5 The decor is plain and boring, with poor lighting. The vibe is extremely dull. Food: 3/5 I usually get the pasta and chhole bhature. The quality has gone down – the pasta was so thick with full of maida and cornflour, and the bhaturas were extremely rubbery. Staff: 1/5 The staff is extremely rude and lacks work ethics. They seem annoyed when called, and one even sprayed collin on my face while clearing our table. Horrible attitude. Reservations: No need to reserve, just walk in and order. Prices: ₹500-700 for two people.

Parikshit M — Google review
I was really disappointed with my experience at Jb’s. The service was slow, and the staff seemed disorganized and inattentive. It took an unusually long time for our orders to be taken and even longer for the food to arrive. Additionally, the staff was unhelpful when we had questions about the menu. The food itself was decent, but the poor service really overshadowed the meal. I hope the restaurant can improve in these areas, as I was expecting a much better experience based on Name.

The vibe at Jb's is warm and welcoming, perfect for both casual meals and special dinners. Their tagliatelle pasta is creamy perfection, and the portion size is just right. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and the staff treat you like family. Hands down, the best veg spot in town.❤️❤️

Doul Govinda Mandir is a riverfront temple that is dedicated to Lord Krishna. It exudes a peaceful ambiance and hosts the vibrant spring festival known as Holi. This stunning and tranquil temple, located in Assam, showcases a beautiful and serene dedication to Govinda Ji. The temple features a Shaligrama pratima of Lord Krishna and offers prashada in the form of sprouts or kheer.
It is a nice modern temple in North Guwahati region. There is a big marble floored hall, at the end of which there is Krishna temple. It is a small beautiful black vigrah. There is a separate large hall to lit diyas. A Ganesh temple is also there at the entrance of premises. The temple is very neat and clean.

It is very clean and diya lighting room is also amazing and i think other large temples should construct a house like that too. Anyway it was very good to visit that place. Must be careful with the monkeys. They won’t harm much but they are dangerous

Doul Gobinda Temple is located at the north bank of the mighty river Brahmaputra. It is a place of historic importance. The temple and shrines, copper plates and rock inscription are scattered to suggest a glorious heritage in and around north Guwahati. The holy Doul Govinda Mandir is perfectly placed at the beautiful foot hills of Chandrabharati hill at Rajaduar, a place of the east of North Guwahati and this natural ambience heightens the sanctity of this place of worship. Situated in a serene area of North Guwahati is the magnificent and beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple houses a beautiful idol of the Lord. The temple is fully equipped with all facilities for the devotees, like washrooms, drinking water, and a fabulous garden in front of the temple. Prasads to the devotees are provided in the temple and include the heavenly dessert, kheer. The cleanliness inside the temple is worth praising. One may find practically everything needed for the prayer service at a number of stalls outside the temple. All around, the atmosphere is really pleasant. If in Guwahati, a must-visit.

Extremely Beautiful Temple. There are monkeys and if you are resistant to animals or have a family that's non animal friendly then you might rethink. The monkeys aren't in anyway obstructive. Outlet mall
Dona Planet Multiplex and Mall is a modern retail and entertainment destination in Guwahati, offering a wide range of branded fashion stores, dining options, and entertainment facilities. It's known for its contemporary design and diverse shopping outlets, making it a popular choice for leisurely shopping sprees. The mall also features PVR cinemas with excellent sound quality, providing an enjoyable movie-watching experience.
Dona Planet, located on GS Road, Guwahati, is a well-known multiplex and shopping mall that offers a mix of entertainment, shopping, and dining options. Though not as large as some of the newer malls in the city, it remains a convenient destination for moviegoers and shoppers looking for a quick retail experience. The movie theater inside Dona Planet provides a decent cinema experience with comfortable seating and good sound quality. It primarily screens the latest Bollywood, Hollywood, and regional films. While it may not match the grandeur of larger multiplex chains like PVR or Cinepolis, it offers a cozy and enjoyable movie experience. The mall area features a variety of retail stores, including fashion outlets, electronic stores, and small brand showrooms. It may not have the extensive range of high-end brands found in bigger malls, but it serves as a quick shopping stop for essentials. The food options inside the mall are limited, with a few cafes and snack joints rather than a large food court. Dona Planet has a well-maintained interior with a clean and organized layout. However, parking space is limited, which can be a hassle during peak hours. The location on GS Road is a major advantage, making it easily accessible from different parts of the city. Dona Planet Multiplex & Mall is a good option for a casual movie outing or quick shopping but may not be ideal for those looking for a full-fledged mall experience with extensive brand selections and dining options. It’s a decent entertainment spot but could benefit from better parking and a wider variety of stores.

It's an ideal place to escape the heat and enjoy various activities like sledging, mountain climbing, and exploring igloos.
Honestly the best experience, despite the space being a little packed. They provided us with jackets, and boots for free! The rest could be purchased if you didn't bring your own. Except for being a little pricey, everything there was interesting and very chilly☃️. There were ice skating rinks, a little christmas cottage, snowman, polar bears, snow slides, reindeer and many more. Definitely recommend for a family trip!

Frozen Planet in Guwahati offers a unique and fun-filled winter experience right in the heart of the plains. Designed to give visitors a taste of icy adventures, this attraction is perfect for families, kids, and anyone looking to enjoy some frosty fun without having to travel to the mountains. From ice skating on the smooth rink to sliding down icy slopes, there’s plenty to keep both kids and adults entertained. The igloos add a cool touch to the experience, creating a mini winter wonderland vibe that feels straight out of the Arctic. One of the main highlights is the artificial mountain climb — a fun challenge that adds an adventurous edge to the visit. The temperature-controlled environment gives a real sense of winter chill, making it a must-visit spot especially during warmer months when you’re craving something different. It’s clean, well-maintained, and safety precautions are in place, which is reassuring for families. Whether you’re looking to skate, play, or just enjoy the unique snowy setting, Frozen Planet is definitely worth checking out. Great place to chill yourself out( literally) Good to go in a group, enjoy the slides and skating, click pictures and take a temporary break from Guwahati heat. Note- For enjoying longer please carry gloves and good socks.
Abhay S — Google review
The place is undoubtedly a unique spot with temperatures dropping to -5°C even during the scorching summer. However, the ticket pricing could be more reasonable if fixed between ₹300–500 as it's difficult for a normal person to spend more than 10 minutes in such biting cold. The gloves priced at ₹70 are made of wool, which isn't suitable for handling the ice as they absorb moisture quickly. Within a minute, your hands might start to feel numb due to poor circulation. Providing rubber or snow proof gloves on a rental basis would be a much better option. On the positive side, the hoodie and boots are included in the ticket price, which is a nice touch 👍

Absolutely Horrible Experience – Zero Safety, No Medical Assistance! I had the worst experience at Frozen Planet in Guwahati today, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The place is extremely unsafe, with no proper safety measures, no emergency services, and shockingly poor management. My best friend’s mother slipped on the hard, slippery ice inside and suffered a serious wrist injury—a dislocation and fracture. What’s worse? When she fell, only one staff member from their management came to help, and even she slipped! Just imagine the lack of safety precautions in place. There were no instructions given on how to walk inside, no handrails, no proper guidance—nothing. After we somehow managed to get her outside, she lost consciousness due to the sudden temperature change. Only then did someone casually mention that visitors are supposed to wait in a “pressure neutral” area after exiting the frozen zone—something we were never informed about beforehand! This crucial information was completely missing from their guidelines. We immediately called for medical help, only to find out that there was no medical unit available on-site. No first aid, no emergency response team—absolutely nothing! How can such a place operate without basic medical assistance? We barely stayed for 30 minutes, and it was the most horrifying experience. The management is careless, the facilities are poorly maintained, and visitor safety is clearly not a priority here. If you value your well-being, I highly recommend staying away from this place. Never going back again!

Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is a vast expanse that serves as a natural habitat for one-horned rhinos and various bird species. The sanctuary offers the unique experience of elephant rides, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of the surroundings. Despite being affected by flooding at times, it remains an affordable destination for wildlife enthusiasts. Visitors have reported sightings of rhinos, buffalos, monitor lizards, and sivet cats during their excursions.
Concentration of Rhinos is more in pobitora as compared to kaziranga n manas. Best place for bird 🐦 watchers too... We also saw monsters lizard. Beautiful sanctuary... Near to Guwahati

Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is a truly delightful destination for nature lovers. Famous for its one-horned rhinoceroses, it also offers sightings of wild boars, buffaloes, deer, and a vibrant variety of birds. It's a serene, lush retreat that's perfect for anyone who enjoys wildlife and the tranquility of nature. Beyond the rhinos, the sanctuary is teeming with diverse wildlife, including wild boars, Asiatic buffaloes, barking deer, and leopards, though the latter are more elusive. Pobitora is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, home to over 200 species of resident and migratory birds. During the winter months, flocks of migratory birds from Central Asia descend upon its wetlands, creating a spectacular sight for visitors. The sanctuary is surrounded by picturesque villages and lush greenery, offering a tranquil escape from the hustle of city life. Jeep safaris and elephant rides are popular ways to explore the park, and guided tours provide deeper insights into the flora, fauna, and conservation efforts in the area. Whether you're a wildlife photographer, a bird lover, or simply someone seeking peace amidst nature, Pobitora offers a refreshing and memorable experience.

The Science Museum in Guwahati is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the interactive exhibits and the wealth of knowledge on display. The museum is incredibly well-organized, making it easy to explore and learn about various scientific concepts in a fun and engaging way. The hands-on activities are perfect for both kids and adults, making it a fantastic destination for families. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to answer questions and provide insights. The planetarium show was a highlight of my visit, offering a mesmerizing journey through the cosmos. The museum also does a great job of blending traditional science with modern technology, ensuring that there's something for everyone. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the admission fee is very reasonable for the value you receive. Whether you're a science enthusiast or just looking for an educational outing, the Science Museum in Guwahati is a must-visit. I left feeling inspired and eager to return. Highly recommend!

The Science Museum is being redeveloped and is very good to visit now especially for children. Some instruments are not working but they are working on it and some parts of the Museum and park are being expanded and developed.
