Really fascinated by the mesmering view of dhaka's nawab's palace (pretty pink palace🕌🤩) and its history; facing the river infront. However, I will request the authority to maintain cleanliness, put air conditioner/more fans and lights as it was really hot inside. Also, I will not recommend to visit this on public holidays. It was crowdy today, not sure about week days. English writings should be provided as well along with bangla.

This palace, which is full of memories of the Nawab family, is currently being run as a museum. "Ahsan Manzil" is a rich repository of Bengal's glorious history and Nawabi heritage. In the middle of the 18th century, the landlord Sheikh Inayet Ullah built a palace called Rang Mahal on the present site of Ahsan Manzil. Later, his son Sheikh Matiullah sold Rang Mahal to French merchants. In 1830, Khwaja Alimullah, father of Nawab Abdul Ghani, bought it. In 1859, Nawab Abdul Ghani started building a palace there. It took 13 long years to build the palace. He named it ‘Ahsan Manzil’ after his beloved son Khwaja Ahsanullah. Once upon a time, the highest dome in Dhaka was the beautiful dome on the roof of the Ahsan Manzil Palace. The veranda and floor of this two-storey building are made of marble. Inside the palace there is a dining room, library, water tank, court hall and billiard room. And on the second floor of the palace there are guest rooms, a drawing room, a dance hall, a library and some other living rooms. There are car verandas on the north and south sides of the palace, one story high. On the south side, an open staircase goes down from the veranda of the second floor to the front garden. Just in front of the palace is a beautiful flower garden and a green field. Ahsan Manzil is considered to be the first brick and stone architectural monument in the city of Dhaka. And the first electric light was lit in this building by the Nawabs of that time. The architectural style of Ahsan Manzil attracted the West equally, there is evidence that Lord Curzon actually stayed in this building when he was in Dhaka. This palace was a major political center of Bengal from the mid-19th century for about 100 years. In 1906, a meeting held here decided to establish the Muslim League. There are two beautiful arches on the east and west ends, which are the most beautiful. There are two parts inside Ahsan Manzil. There is a sitting room and a library in the east part. There is a dance hall and other residential rooms in the west part. There is a courtroom and a dining room on the ground floor. The two-story palace building, built on a 1-meter-high altar, measures 125.4 meters and 28.75 meters. The height from floor to ceiling on the ground floor is 5 meters and 5.8 meters on the second floor. There are car balconies on the north and south sides of the palace, which are the same height as one floor. A large open staircase leads down from the second-story balcony through the front garden to the riverbank. In front of the staircase was a fountain in the garden, which does not exist today. There are wide balconies with semicircular arches on the north and south sides of both floors of the palace. The floors of the balconies and rooms are decorated with marble. To build the dome of Ahsan Manzil, first the four corners of the square room on the ground floor were filled with bricks and given a round shape. Above this, a similar round room built on the second floor was made octagonal near the roof by squinching the upper part. This octagonal room became the barrel of the dome on the roof. Finally, the pointed heads of the octagonal arms are gradually tilted towards the center and the dome in the shape of a lotus has been created. The height of the dome top from the ground is 27.13 meters. In 1992, the tourist attraction was renovated and converted into a museum (Ahsan Manzil Museum)।

The Liberation War Museum in Dhaka, Bangladesh was established in 1996. It commemorates the heroic struggle of the Bengali people for their democratic and national rights. If anyone are interested in Bangladesh, this is the right place to know about it. The cleanliness is appreciated although the guard system in the museum is not very helpful. Introducing guide system in the museum would be an wonderful addition. But a little more details would make it more appropriate.

To be honest, there’s not much to see here. Most of the displays are about Bangladesh only — you won’t find ancient items or monuments from other countries. Some sections look more like replicas than originals. Also, a small heads-up: in the statue section, there are some Hindu sculptures that show nudity. It might feel awkward if you’re with your parents or kids. If you’re just passing by and want to take a short walk inside, that’s fine. But it’s not really worth planning a whole trip for.

We all enjoyed the visit very much — especially my children, who were excited to explore the different galleries and exhibits. The museum is rich in history, culture, and heritage, making it a great place for families to learn together. ✅ Recommendation: It would be very helpful if the authority arranged drinking water facilities 🚰 on each floor or at key corners for visitors’ convenience. ⚠️ Objection: While exploring the section on our Liberation War, I was disappointed to see that there was no information displayed about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation. Omitting such an important figure feels like an attempt to change history, which is not fair. A national museum should reflect the true and complete history of Bangladesh without political influence.

A very beautiful place to visit with family, friends, and lovers. There is a beautiful lake in the middle of the park. You can go boating in the lake. There are wooden bridges on all sides of the lake for a beautiful walk. Security is also quite good. Sometimes squirrels can be seen in the park.

Ramna Park is located in Moulana Bhasani Rd, Dhaka-1217, Bangladesh. The only park is peacefully walkable around Dhaka city. In the morning and afternoon, the city dwellers come for a little rest. In the evening the yellow light shades from lighting under the bridge on the lake gives such a romantic soothing vibes. There is an artificial lake inside.

One of the most unique mosques I have ever seen. Ground floor is shut down and people perform their prayer in 1st floor. In a congested area like old Dhaka this mosque is spacious and beautiful. But I think government and locals should be very aware to save the heritage and look over the place regularly.

A historical place and Muslim prayer mosque. The most amazing thing that I experience is the weather difference. Outside it was very hot but inside the mosque I wasn't even feeling hot at all. Maybe it happened because the mosque is built with clay like material. I enjoyed playing and staying their for an hour or so.

I liked everything, except for one thing, which I did not like at all—and that is not the fault of the Shaheed Minar, but our own. There was a huge amount of garbage in front of the Shaheed Minar, and people had climbed onto it with their shoes on. I believe there should be a few people stationed there to warn others not to step onto it with shoes. It is our responsibility to protect the glorious places of Bangladesh. The National Botanical Garden at Mirpur in Dhaka, located right next to the Bangladesh National Zoo, covers a wide area filled with a variety of beautiful trees. There are several sections in this garden, including an orchid garden, a cactus garden, an artificial waterfall, a children's park, and several beautiful lakes, among others. I visited the garden on a mild rainy day, which allowed me to enjoy the lush greenery of the trees. While walking, we suddenly encountered cute, small squirrels and enjoyed the occasional chirping of various birds. This is an excellent place for meditation, healing, peaceful walks, and similar activities. There are paid restroom facilities available. I have a request for all future visitors: please do not throw waste, especially plastic, into the lakes or around the garden. Additionally, please keep noise levels down to avoid scaring the birds and animals.

Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan area in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar of capital Dhaka is 215 acres. In addition to the main building, there are open green spaces, beautiful reservoirs and offices of parliamentarians. In 1961, the construction of the 9th floor building started. This building was inaugurated on January 28, 1982 after going through many ups and downs of history. The spectacular building was designed by famous American architect Louis I Kahn. The Sangsad Bhawan area is divided into three parts namely Main Building, South Plaza and Presidential Plaza. There is an aesthetic reservoir called Crescent Lake at the back of Parliament.

Honestly I’m disappointed with the service and false advertisement. In general most items are not available from the menu, and whatever is available doesn’t seem fresh. We took the potato sticks but it was mostly undercooked, not flavourful and cooked way beforehand. The popcorn was stale. The drinks were fine considering it was fresh from the tap. They took a long time to serve so why can’t they just cook up a fresh batch? Also they have a sign for a bKash cash back offer but when I tried to pay they straight up refused, when I complained about it there was visible confusion between the staff members. Almost made me feel like it was intentional. Also we had the cappuccino and mocha from the other counter. The taste does not justify 270+tk, the coffee almost smelt burned for some reason. The movie experience was great though, great audio, great screen. One complaint though. Not all seats have a dedicated cup holder. What if someone came alone and they don’t get the cup holder seat? Was the cup holders broken or it’s just how it is… Overall they need more communication between staff members and they need to improve on their quality. I have been to this place multiple times to see the dramas by open space theatre. I never knew how entertaining live dramas were until I sat down for my first one. It was a wonderful experience. Apart from dramas, I have been to multiple exhibitions here as well. In a nutshell, there is always something amazing going on around here. So keep an eye out for this place if you're looking for fun activities.

Since I was in school, I have been here. Now, years later, I'm visiting my nephew who is enrolled in school. I barely noticed any alterations. It might be far more exciting, in my opinion, as a science museum. Numerous projects have been disabled. I get serious questions from kids about why those don't function. Anyhow, the garden was calm and well-kept. I find calm in the little green space, and kids have a great time there. They set up a satellite show with a telescope on Friday and Saturday. It takes place in the evening. We intend to attend that show there next time.

We took our 8-year-old daughter, and she was absolutely thrilled! There are so many fun and interactive science exhibits that kept her engaged and curious the whole time. The place is well-organized and great for children to learn while having fun. Ticket prices are quite affordable: Tk. 20 for the exhibition galleries, Tk. 40 for the 4D movie show, Tk. 20 for the VR show, and Tk. 10 for the sky observation (available only after evening). You should be prepared to spend around 3 to 4 hours to explore everything at a comfortable pace. Overall, it’s a fun family outing where kids can learn while having a blast. We spent a good couple of hours, and she’s already asking when we can go back!

Each Sunday Catholics gather there for Sunday mass and thousands devotee join there. Portuguese Augustinian missionaries introduced Christianity in Dhaka. In 1628, they established a church, called the ‘Church of the Assumption’, in Narinda, southern part of the Dhaka city. The second church of Dhaka was built in 1677 at Tejgaon. The inscription on the pinnacle of the Church shows a date in Arabic numerals 1677, built by the Augustinian Fathers but many believe it was built in the 16th century. The Holy Rosary Church premises houses one of the two Catholic cemeteries in Dhaka. Today, the original Holy Rosary Church is set behind the large modern frontage and contains the remaining well preserved and cared for Armenian tombstones.

In 1714, 1940 and the last renovation was in 2000.The difference between the width of walls and the parts of the roof suggest that the eastern part of the Church was built later.
