Museum de Fundatie is a visual arts museum located in Zwolle, housed in a neoclassical palace with a modern rooftop extension. The museum features an international art collection and offers panoramic views from its rooftop terrace. Visitors can also explore the historic city center of Zwolle, climb the Sassenpoort for stunning views, and visit Kasteel Het Nijenhuis with its beautiful gardens and sculptures.
Building is special, but inside just normal museum. Nice special exhibition during our visit.

During a recent visit to Zwolle, we had the chance to explore Museum de Fundatie, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience. The first thing that struck us was the building itself—it’s truly a work of art. The combination of the historic neoclassical base with the ultra-modern “cloud” structure on top is fascinating. It’s not just a museum; it’s an architectural masterpiece that demands your attention even before you step inside. Once inside, the museum didn’t disappoint. The collection is diverse, featuring everything from classic to contemporary art, and every piece seemed to tell a story. We were particularly drawn to some of the modern installations, which felt both thought-provoking and playful. The way the exhibits were curated made it easy to move between different styles and eras while still feeling cohesive. One of our favorite moments was enjoying the view from the “cloud” section at the top. The large windows offer stunning panoramic views of Zwolle, adding an extra layer of magic to the visit. It’s the kind of place where you could easily spend hours just soaking it all in. Museum de Fundatie is not just about the art—it’s the entire experience. The combination of innovative design, compelling exhibitions, and the serene ambiance makes it a must-visit destination. We left feeling inspired and eager to return one day. If you’re in Zwolle, this is a place you simply cannot miss.

Very nice local museum situated in the center of the inner city/ring. Excellent permanent collection and rotating collections. A museum card makes this and many other museums very affordable.
Matt G — Google review
Lovely museum with great collection of portraits and landscapes from the Dutch Golden Age till modern days. They host regular temporary exhibitions of modern art that nicely compliment permanent collection. The museum is friendly to people with disabilities. The staff is doing fantastic job for arranging expositions and highlighting info about artists. Reserve 1.5 -2 hours for visiting. Do not forget to climb at the top floor. There is nice view over Zwolle and cosy cafe.
Andrii P — Google review
So I had a very nice time first time in Zwolle and I visited also Museum de Fundatie. What I liked the most was the expo at the top and the audio-video projection inside the Dome, very relaxing and recharging.
Cristian P — Google review
Very nice museum with lovely staff. I love that you don't need a euro for the lockers because i so rarely carry cash and don't have to worry about where to put my winter coat! bathrooms on every floor is also great (and the soap smells good). Just wish the museum shop carried more items based on the exhibition :) thanks!
Viktoria M — Google review
What an awesome experience. I can definitely recommend this Art Museum. There is a lot to see and if you keep walking up the stairs there is a little cafe where you can grab a coffee and relax. The town of Zwolle is also really nice so definitely a nice day trip no matter where in the Netherlands you are from
Cameron W — Google review
Really nice museum for a quick and inspiring visit. I’d strongly recommend that you start from the 4th floor taking the elevator at the lobby and then make your way down from the “Leiko Ikemura” expositions to the “ex- change proto” and finally to “Guillaume”. I spent about an hour here and read almost all room descriptions. There are also guided tours, I believe those should be booked in advanced. The day that I went it was not crowded, but that was a bit unusual. If you have the Museumkaart you can access for free. Unfortunately the day that I was there the cafe was closed.

Sassenpoort, a 15th-century gatehouse in Zwolle, is a must-see landmark offering historic exhibits on all floors and panoramic views from its rooftop terrace. The city center of Zwolle boasts narrow streets, charming buildings, and picturesque canals to explore. Additionally, visitors can marvel at the Grote Kerk, a large church dating back to the 15th century.
A very interesting place. An interesting brief history of the city in pictures, the decoration of the rooms. You can even shoot a bow there! Also listen to the bell. Unfortunately there is no way out. But at the top there is a window with a beautiful view of the city. If you put your phone away, you can take beautiful pictures. The ticket is only about 5 euros.

What a beautiful place. It feels like being in a fairytale while walking through the old city center.
Anli N — Google review
Beautiful building with a ton of history. The guide, Dick, was wonderful and was able to answer all questions about the building, the town, and its history with passion and enthusiasm. There were great activities for kids to learn about the town history. The views were amazing. This is well worth the 5€ and you will not be disappointed!
Allison T — Google review
I absolutely recommend visiting the Sassenpoort — no hesitation. You’ll learn not only about Zwolle, but also hidden stories and fascinating Dutch history that only the passionate staff can tell you. The guides are former caretakers of the place, and their storytelling is full of life, humor, and detail you won’t find anywhere else. Our visit lasted about 2.5 hours — we ended up talking a lot, and it was truly worth it. I won’t spoil anything… I’ll leave the mystery for you to discover. Highly recommended if you want a real, human experience of Dutch history.

Grote Kerk, also known as Sint-Michaelskerk, is a 600-year-old church in Zwolle that showcases the city's rich history. The church presents intriguing contradictions, such as religious artifacts alongside ornate gates symbolizing a break from Catholic rituals. Managed by Academiehuis, it hosts various cultural activities and offers a space for events. Serving as both a place of worship and a museum, the interior exhibits an impressive collection of religious objects.
This old church has been transformed into a multifunctional space with a bar, a reading area, and even art exhibitions. Despite these changes, it has beautifully preserved its original elegance and charm.
Chiara C — Google review
This church serves as both a place of worship and a museum. Although I'm not particularly interested in religion, I found myself drawn to the collection of religious objects, which is quite fascinating. While the exterior of the building isn't particularly spectacular, the exhibits inside are beautiful, diverse, and meticulously maintained. It's definitely a tourist attraction worth visiting if you happen to be passing through the city of Zwolle.
Catalin H — Google review
Absolutely INCREDIBLE place, now housing an incredibly worth it experience that takes you yo the very top of the church, this place is incredible, completely secular and free (except for the experience) and has a lovely little café with comfy couches and a kids area! Always new expos and events! The people that work there are all volunteers and they are all sweet and kind and love the place so they can tell you anything about it!
Lucian P — Google review
Old church with beautiful seiling. Inside there is small shop with food, cafe and place hand made souvenirs. There are also books you can read. Now there is a movie about Zwolle and Saint's Michael Church.
Aga T — Google review
Interesting church, very well restored (though not quite entirely finished). Offers a small coffee bar, a selection of second hand books to browse or buy and other options for leisure or entertainment (view from the tower/small art exhibit).
Ellen R — Google review
The Great Church or St. Michael's Church of Zwolle located in the city centre had at one time the tallest tower in all of Netherlands. There is renovation ongoing (Feb 2022) to the internal elements of the structure. There are music recitals inside which can be enjoyed gratis, also a book store where books can be purchased. Update (Feb 2023) - Renovations completed and looks great now.
Saji — Google review
The church is impressive, with all its details (choir, pulpit, Schnitger organ). Worth a visit! Gerard ter Borch, the famous painter was buried in the church (tombstone still present). This time I was also able to visit the consistory.

Name of this Beautiful big church (Grote Kerk) is Sint Michaëlskerk, or St. Michael’s. It is run by the Academiehuis. Great acoustics for concerts, wide open spaces for exhibitions.

Dino Land Zwolle is an exciting theme park perfect for families with kids in Zwolle. Situated conveniently near the train station, it offers a thrilling journey back to the time of dinosaurs. The park features over 100 lifelike dinosaur replicas and various activities suitable for children aged 2-14, all with a dinosaur theme.
Such a fun day! Yes, it's more aimed at fun than learning. But isn't that the best way to learn? They've incorporated the theme well and with kids ages 3 to 12 or so, you'll have a day filled with fun and even learn a thing or two. Heck, you'll enjoy yourself too if you join in the games.
Tess L — Google review
I'm a dinosaur enthusiast, so we decided to visit “Dinoland Zwolle” during our vacation in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't good, but the park offered plenty of shelter. Unfortunately, these parks are always designed exclusively for children and as an adult dinosaur fan you don't have many activities. Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun! The best was “Dinozine” - worth a visit even if you don't speak a word of Dutch! I found what I was looking for in the souvenir store and have just realized that I was charged €3 too much. The price tag had also been removed from the item that was incorrectly charged. I'm not implying any malicious intent, but it annoyed me afterwards.
J. F — Google review
We drove past this place and had seen commercials for it. Turns out to be a big playing area for children with some Dino's sprinkled in. The staff was very friendly, there were a lot of activities (for kids) and the restaurant was above expectation. Would go here for a kids party for sure, but for a on-route visit, once was enough
Tom G — Google review
It's fun place for kids, lot of activities, lot of realistic dinosaur, with body movement it feels they are alive. I would definitely recommend this place for a family outing, your kids will love it for sure.
Rahul S — Google review
I loved it. Well, my child loved it, and therefore I did. The park is not too big, but has many excellent play areas with interesting climbing options. Dinosaurwise, it's not as informative as I would like, but that's not a reason not to go. Price is ok, could be lower for the smaller children though. Food is not too great though, bit fastfoody for my taste. Prices are a bit too high for me too. But you are allowed to bring some snacks from home. Not a bad idea to do so.
Max J — Google review
everything was really great, dinosaurs were moving and making sounds I really recommend!
Oliwia O — Google review
It's an excellent place for getting into all things Dinosaurs. Went for a day of dino fun with my four-year-old. There are many activities, from sculpting your dino to mini golf with dinos on the course. And then there are the playground areas, from a giant slide to a bunch of climbing and slide combos.
Mitchel M — Google review
Waowwwwwwww!!!!!! What a place. A must must visit. We drove all the way from Amsterdam but it was worth the travel. An amazing experience for full family. Everything there was so apt and entertaining for the whole family. I loved the laser game. Our team won ... :) .

The Bonami Computer Museum is a fascinating place for tech enthusiasts and gamers alike. It houses a wide array of older computers that visitors can actually use, along with a separate arcade room featuring playable consoles. Despite its name, it's more like a collection house than a traditional museum, showcasing items from as far back as the 1950s, including typewriters, punch cards, floppy disks, and even pong games.
We would like to recommend this great place to you today if you're interested in computer games, arcade games, and their history. Here, in a large hall, you can trace the history of gaming from analog computers to high-end consoles, ending up in an arcade hall where you can play everything from Pinball to Guitar Hero. For a very good price, you can have fun here for hours. There's a lot to discover and try out, with both classics and modern games all in one place. It was our second time there, and we had fun again.
Jess A — Google review
Amazing place! Be noted more or less all displays has dutch text only, so if you want to read about the thousands of computers/games/etc you may need to have Google translate ready 😉
Søren J — Google review
Not just game computers, but a comprehensive history from the first mass produced mechanical calculators. Lots of places where you (or the kids!) Can try the fame computers. Also a fine selection of arcade machines and pinball machines. Easy to spend several hours. Recommended.
Bert R — Google review
Unique and Amazing museum. Deserves more visitors. Very calm and the atmosphere was great. Employees were kind as heaven. Huge arcade and games to play. Interesting info about historical devices, allowed to touch a lot. 5 stars, second time here and my opinion has NOT changed. I wish the best for these people.
Reza V — Google review
It's an interesting place for sure - a lot of older computers, many of them you can use. There's also a separate arcade room with playable consoles. It's a good place to geek out. However, be aware that half-day tickets costs 16eur no matter when you come. We came late, not knowing the rule, and had only 1.5 hours and still had to pay the same price as people who came there earlier and had hours more to enjoy the spot. It has two time slots, 10am-5pm and 6pm-10pm (I think, I don't recall exactly).
Agne S — Google review
Best museum I’ve ever been to. It’s HUGE and has all our favorite gaming systems and handhelds as well as a lot of important PCs from the 80s and 90s like the Sinclair’s, MSX and even Silicone Graphics computers. They even have a playable Virtual Boy! Only a few negatives, I wish they had the Sega Rally arcade machine and the original Lethal Enforcers arcade instead of the sequel they have.
Mark M — Google review
Came here worried it wouldn’t be fun for my Danish, non-Dutch son.. IT WAS AWESOME!! The history of technology was very well documented, in a fun interactive way, the staff was super welcoming and accommodating; great info from the start. The whole vibe is cozy; some people living their dream exhibiting their hobby and collections, which is great! The passion and dedication breathes trough the whole venue. I’m not even a gamer myself, my son is, but I could spend days going back to gaming/computer history and trying out all the different games. The cafeteria is great too, great options for drinks/snacks and free board games to play. Admission might seem a little expensive at first but when you realise the history, option to play games from every decade, the arcade hall, the boardgames to just pick up and play in the cafeteria, it’s so worth it!! I counted on spending an hour or maybe 2 here; a whole day is more realistic.
Mala J — Google review
Probably one of the largest and best computer museums in the Netherlands. It takes you on a journey through computing history, from the early days to modern gaming. Most of the exhibits are touchable and some are plugged in to play with. A plus is the included arcade with many cabinets. Make sure that reserve enough time for your visit.

ANNO Stadsmuseum Zwolle offers a captivating journey through the history of Hanzestad Zwolle. Visitors can immerse themselves in the stories of renowned Zwollenaren, explore archaeological excavations, and marvel at unique heritage displays. The museum showcases beautiful old photos and paintings, while also providing interactive experiences such as bingo games and craft activities. With friendly staff on hand to assist, ANNO Stadsmuseum Zwolle is an engaging destination for all ages.
Very different from the old museum (burnt down), but probably more appealing for younger people. The original furniture got lost in the fire, but the environment was restored well. Digital guides available (walking around with a tablet and scanning the QR-codes in the room). Easy way to learn about the history of Zwolle - and the building.
Guus L — Google review
I would say that the whole experience in the museum would have been better with an explanation and some added sound attributes (which were there but not available. As for the garden it was nice but somewhat unused. By the way in restaurant part, some woke people have taken over asking if I wanted oat 'milk' in my latte macchiato which is impossible as there isn't such a thing it's made up. So they asked what I wanted instead (yes you heard it right! "Instead") I said well 'normal' milk! They replied oh so you mean Cow milk, well at least that's still named normal... I know you have sheep and goat milk and others perhaps but yes worldwide cow milk is it.
Will T — Google review
Very disappointed with the new version of the Zwolle city museum. Very few original objects. A film, information panels with illustrations and lots of touchscreens : I can watch and read them at home, or anywhere online. Actually, the Wikipedia page about Zwolle is much more informative…. Many fancy gadgets that will be broken soon, and too little content. There is only one touchscreen per room, so if there’s anybody else in the room, you have to wait. There is no description written next to the (copies of) objects, only via the touchscreens. The dates are often not specified. There is not a single map of the city. The museum is focused on a few persons who are supposed to tell about an important topic in the history of Zwolle. Unfortunately, these people are unknown to non-Dutch, and to many Dutchmen outside Zwolle too. I couldn’t find any through-line. The Drostenhuis has been beautifully restored in baroque style, but you can only visit the ground floor. The Hanse exhibition is just an introduction. The touchscreen is supposed to be multilingual, but the English, German and Zwollse dialect texts are all missing. The explanations in Dutch do not explain well what sense the objects make. How come the coats of arms of Zwolle, Hasselt and Kampen are present on the same object, while they were rival cities ? No answer… The booklet about the Hanse time is strange. It ignores the catholic monasteries, city walls and gates, and event the pest hospital, though they are significant artifacts from Zwolle’s Hanse past, much more than the demolished buildings listed in this booklet. Museumkaart is not valid.

(Translated by Google) Very interesting and informative introductory video about the past of the Hanseatic city of Zwolle. I would have liked to watch it longer... but then it was over. This piece of museum is still under construction. We found what there was to see below very interesting... Upstairs did not really appeal to us. Unfortunately there were no activities for children when we were there on a Saturday morning.

(Translated by Google) Nice, small, city museum. It was quiet, even though we were there on a Saturday. Some are free and some are paid, and you can visit them for free with your museum card. The paid part is beautiful, high ceilings, velvet wall coverings and large wooden fitted wardrobes. Add to that the beautiful fireplace mantels and the creaking wooden floors and you imagine yourself in old, rich times. The collection is nice, but could be bigger: Anno says so himself, the museum is under construction. The nice thing is that it is also visible, the space for restoration and research is fully visible through a large window. Because we were there on the weekend, no one was working. The collection is not indicated with signs but via a large touchscreen. Modern and convenient but also distant and complicated, we hardly used this at all. We were there for an hour and a half. (Original) Leuk, klein, stadsmuseum.
B. V — Google review
(Translated by Google) Anno are the stories of Zwolle from the earliest history to the present. In the information film you get an impression of the history told by contemporary Zwolle residents. You will encounter these red lines throughout the museum and are illustrated with text, images, audio, art and utensils. The collection shows its strength in depth rather than excess and that works. Every important event is mentioned, beautiful or not beautiful. All together shaped the city as it is today. The extremely friendly staff will help you not to miss anything. The museum annual card is not yet valid. The museum has submitted the application. The coffee in the museum cafe tastes excellent. Thank you for the fantastic boat cruise yesterday in Zwolle! Two of us onboard were not Dutch, and our Captain/Guide was kind enough to translate all the information into English. It was not expected but really appreciated.
Maria B — Google review
The boat was good, and it performed very well. The price for 1 hour was also good 20€. We didn’t do any reservation, just showed up and they still manage to get us a boat. PS: Don’t try to cross the small pass on in the canal island. The boat will get stuck.

This is a great place to hire a boat with electric engine, with a great view of Zwolle being on the water. I highly recommend this trip to others. Zwolle is amazing, seeing it this way is even better, especially to see the amazing architecture. Great price and service!

Pinksterweekend, we had a Great time on a boat that we hired from botenverhuur- Schoone. Spent a few hours on the gracht in Zwolle. Nice way to see Zwolle from a different angle. The boat was easy to handle, the kids enjoyed it, the adults were relaxed. Booked via the website, and well looked after when we arrived. Thanks to Nico, José and the rest of the team. Makes you want to come back and do it again.

It is an incredibly beautiful estate to walk around. Especially on the beautiful, warm autumn day we were there. Very varied sculptures that you can walk around, touch, experience and sometimes with sound. The indoor exhibition was also very worthwhile. I'm looking forward to going back again! Djambo Kids Play is a fantastic indoor playground in Zwolle, offering a perfect retreat for kids up to 12 years old, especially on rainy days. The play center features age-appropriate play areas where children can climb, clamber, slide, and run around to their heart's content. From riding in cars to climbing on a volcano and enjoying the sports field, there are plenty of activities to keep them entertained for hours.
Clean, organized place to spend an afternoon with your (grand-)children.
Jasper V — Google review
The entrance is littered with cigarette butts. The entrance hall is dirty. Inside is reasonably clean, though the air is still, too warm, and a potpourri of aftershave, body-spray, and a strong scent of sweat. This reek could be alleviated if there were windows, but unfortunately the building has none. All lighting is artificial. Perhaps a mechanical air-exchange system could be installed or turned on?. I am waiting for the kids to be through and several flies keep landing on me. I am swatting away flies…. The French fries were dry. The hamburger was also small, dry and tasteless. The kids fun box made the kids happy. It looks a bit short on supply though. The nuggets were reportedly satisfactory. I dunno, I prefer going to a free park And playing outside with the kids. Admission is €10 so shouldn’t it be special? Kids had fun though.
Matt G — Google review
Massive play center with age appropriate play areas. Okay, adults have to play, but if your kids are happy to run off for a few hours and have fun, it's worth it. The tables have recently been updated. Lots of places to store shoes and coats etc. Nice seating areas for adults as well as magazines. Small detail, but made me happy, they also serve decaf coffee! Healthy snacks are also available. Clean too. Great place to bring your kids!

Visited Djambo Kids Play / Ballorig Zwolle on 1st August 2025 at 3.30pm. It was moderately busy, with plenty of kids enjoying themselves and a lively atmosphere. The climbing areas were the highlight. Challenging and stimulating, they kept the children entertained and active. It’s definitely a great place to tire the kids out. There was also plenty of seating for parents and families, which made it easy to relax while keeping an eye on the little ones. The cleanliness could be improved. Balls from the pit were scattered across the floor, creating potential trip and slip hazards. Tables and the general space would benefit from more frequent cleaning to feel more hygienic. I didn’t spot any hand sanitisers either, which would be a welcome addition. The coffee was not great, though the selection of snacks seemed fine. Prices for food felt a little high for what was offered. A nice selection of halal food is available, which makes the place feel very inclusive. Overall, it’s a fun place for kids with good play equipment and enough space for families, but a little more attention to hygiene and food quality would make the experience even better.
Nauman K — Google review
Nice place and a good spot to spend time with the kids. 10.50€ is an ok price for 2 parents and a toddler but also not a bargain. The food is rather fastfood than a healthy kids menue. Very loud speaker announcements all the time... a bit disturbing - In total it’s alright - but nothing I’d seek to visit every week

What an experience! It was super exciting and fun to do the escape "the mission". We have done another escape room. "The courthouse". This was very fun as well! Kudos for the actors!

A 'great escape' room! We played the mission 'The mission'. The actress was great. We loved that it wasn't about finding combinations for locks. Instead, solving puzzles had practical effects in the room, which made it super fun. Also, we had a 'great time', about 20 min left. ;)
Merijn B — Google review
We played “The Courtroom” and it was great. Staff was friendly and accommodating. In the beginning you are introduced to the room together with another group/team, but later on you have to escape with just your own group. The effects were great and puzzles were very doable. Recommend!
Musa S — Google review
Amazing experience; The escape room was sufficiently difficult, the staff allowed outside-of-the-box type solutions to challenges involving the staff. When my partner became overwhelmed, they took them out of the room and ensured they felt safe. Staff was incredibly friendly and enthoustiastic. Would absolutely recommend to everyone! Note that this was my first and thus far only escape room experience, so my review does not consider any comparison to other companies offering escape rooms.

Played two of the rooms at the Great escape (the prison cell and the experiment) both rooms were both really well thought out. Actors are a nice addition. Staff is friendly and helpful. During one of our escapes one mechanism had failed (can always happen) but fortunately we could complete the escape in the duplicate room, which was a good solution to the problem. Probably one of the best escape room locations in the Netherlands.

Monkey Town Zwolle is a vibrant play paradise where kids can spend the entire day enjoying various activities such as ball pools, trampolines, and climbing frames. Parents can relax with a book or games while their children are entertained. Although there are no live monkeys on the premises, colorful paintings of monkeys adorn the walls. The space offers ample room for kids to play and explore. While some visitors found it noisy, others appreciated the lower noise levels compared to similar venues.

This place is not bad for parents. Noise levels are somewhat lower than in other 'children's paradises'. The sandwich I had was ok (tuna spread was nothing special). There is a lot of space and the kids loved it.

Took the wains here on a wee holiday. Only 2 of them broke their legs and one got in a wee Brawl. Disappointed there were no live monkeys on the premises. However, there were no short of dead ones. They were hung up like discarded napkins. Blowing in the wind due yo the massive hole in the wall. Got a bit of whooping cough while eating the fried baboon (with chips). It was delightfully awful. Natedog signing out.

Ethanie M — Google review
Did not see a single monkey (not one) except for large colorfull paintings on the walls, and it's not so much a town and reminded me more of a large warehouse dressed with colored dampening pads. This is below my expectations, and I felt robbed of the dream of being chased down a empty dirty town chased by angry screaming monkeys together with my soon to be 3 year old son, our first dangerous adventures together. My son on the other hand loved it. He climbed around, interacted with kids of all ages and the only screaming today was him when I told him we had to leave. I guess I'll be coming back but for the love of God consider my monkey town concept and set up a "real monkey town" concept in parallel. I don't need royalties or anything. Kind regards Jonas

Sculpture
Nestled in the vibrant Grote Markt of Zwolle, the Glazen Engel, or Glass Angel, is a breathtaking sculpture crafted by artist Herman Lamers. This remarkable piece represents Archangel Michael, the city's patron saint. Standing at an impressive four meters tall and composed of approximately 350 layers of glass—each one centimeter thick—the statue exudes a captivating ethereal quality. Completed in December 2009 and unveiled on June 18, 2010, after a performance at St.
Really cool statue made using shards of glass stacked together. The statue was created by Herman Lamers, and it is on that spot since 2010.
Lucas K — Google review
(Translated by Google) The "Glazen Engel" (Glass Angel) is an impressive sculpture by Dutch artist Herman Lamers, located in Zwolle right in front of the Great Church (Grote Kerk) in the heart of the city. The sculpture was erected in 2013 and is made of transparent glass, giving it a unique, almost ethereal appearance. At around four meters high, it stands on a pedestal and dominates the public square in front of the church. The transparency of the material plays an important role in the effect of the sculpture. Depending on the incidence of light and weather conditions, the “Glazen Engel” changes its appearance. In sunlight it shimmers and appears almost weightless, while on gray days it exudes a rather dark, mysterious atmosphere. The choice of glass as a material symbolizes the fleeting and spiritual, which is directly related to the religious meaning of the angel. Thematically, the sculpture refers to the angel as a protective figure, which in many religions is considered a mediator between the heavenly and the earthly. Placed in front of the Grote Kerk, the sculpture also enters into dialogue with the sacred space of the church building and refers to the spiritual dimension of the place. Lamers' angel seems to reinforce this meaning without appearing intrusive or massive. The “Glazen Engel” quickly became a landmark of Zwolle and a popular photo opportunity. Its modern aesthetics and the special play with light and transparency create an exciting contrast to the historical architecture of the surrounding area...

Swimming pool
Aquatic center
The Optisport | Zwembad De Vrolijkheid boasts an impressive and environmentally friendly indoor pool facility, complete with a thrilling slide and a compact climbing hall integrated within the pool area. Its well-designed layout enhances the swimming experience, providing both enjoyment and functionality. The pool is maintained to high standards of cleanliness, ensuring a hygienic environment for all visitors. However, it is worth noting that the absence of showers may be somewhat disappointing for some patrons.
Nice sustainable indoor pool, including slide and small climbing hall in the pool. Good layout and nice to swim in

Clean and safe. The two times I’ve been here it was very crowded, but with very well behaved, socialized Dutch people. It’s really the only place to swim until the outdoor pools open in the summer. I don’t suppose it is subsidized by the State as it’s very expensive. No rubberized water features for the kids to climb. The slide is slow and lame. The jet whirl stream thing is short and the current is weak. Fries and ice cream are nice. Water is not too harsh with chemicals.

Was really enjoyable, Pool was clean and warm. Service for food etc might be a little faster, but nothing much wrong.

Great pool. 4 different types for all ages. In the vacation there are usually extra activities and attractions. Exceptionally clean

The facilities are good. But the swimming lessons and ABC diploma is a scam. They hold back the children to stretch out taking your money. They really don't care about the child's development. Yet at the same time, when another child could not complete the tasks of the A Diploma, she was given the diploma anyway. What is the point then?

We love goung to this particular swimming pool. The water is warm, outside of the water it is warm, staff is friendly and very perceptive. The only minus that I see are the dirty tables in tge cafeteria
Sanea L — Google review

(Translated by Google) Not quite the night out we had in mind. Unfortunately, no alcohol is served, but this probably saved us some loss. Most people there don't seem to come for fun. Many places are held up forever and usually 1 person has claimed multiple hives. Also multiple spots on the roulette wheel. Which I don't really see the point of. (Just guess at multiple spots on the wheel?) Ultimately you end up sitting at a slot machine, but that wasn't quite the night out I had in mind. Everything else is neat and the staff is friendly, but we won't go here again next time we want a night out.

(Translated by Google) The odds of winning here are very slim. You're better off going to Holland Casino or playing online, where you won't be playing against a machine that only pays out when it's "full."

(Translated by Google) Friendly service, you get snacks and free (non-alcoholic) drinks. But there isn't much choice on where to bet your money. We did have a nice evening.

Vereniging Openluchtbad Zwolle, also known as Het Openluchtbad Zwolle, is a historic outdoor pool located in the Wipstrik district of Zwolle. This seasonal attraction dates back to the 1930s and is considered a local monument. The facility features two large 50-meter pools, one for lap swimming and another for recreational use, along with two smaller shallow pools and a spacious sunbathing lawn.
Best swimming pool ever. Fresh and cold. Very clean environment. A membership is required. Members must perform some hours of work on a regular basis. There has always been surprisingly well behaved group of people enjoying the pool and the grounds. Very social and friendly. Children and adults behaving well. Refreshing.

It,s so good swimming pool and clean also long and wide .you will enjoy in swimming with your family or friends if you visit it.
Yousef A — Google review
The only one in Zwolle. You need a membership to come in. And great to just swim and for kids to play in another bath.

(Translated by Google) 🐬Everyone knows their place in the pool and in the lane. The Speedos in lanes 3 and 4 and the slow ones in lanes 1 and 6. This way you don't bother each other and you can train wonderfully!🐳 (Original) 🐬Iedereen kent zijn plek in het bad en in de baan.
