Apenheul is a seasonal park located in Apeldoorn, the 12th largest city in the Netherlands. The city has modern residential areas and business districts, with its history and attractions concentrated in the original core. A visit to Apenheul offers an opportunity to see over 200 free-roaming primates, explore a treetop trail, and experience a nocturnal monkey house.
Very cute monkeys, beautiful and demanding place. The tour is about 3-4 hours, the parking ticket is 1,07 €/ 20 minutes. There are restaurants and toilets inside. And you can walk amoung the monkeys. Just watch out, some of them are thieves. 😄😄
Zsófia F — Google review
Amazing experience. If you have a stroller, they will get on the stroller. They provide free anti-primate bags to put your stuff in. You get to be so close to the animals! There are activities throughout the park to keep kids entertained and engaged. As well as fun facts and other educational things along the way.
Ashlee C — Google review
Apenheul is a beautiful park with great visibility of the monkeys and superb, friendly staff. The landscaping is lovely, and the whole place feels clean and well-kept. The only downside: the paper maps often end up soggy in the water, which makes things messy — a digital app or clearer route signs would be a big improvement. Avoid going in the summer break — it’s just too crowded and very loud. For children who get easily overstimulated, a weekday in low season is a much better choice. The food is below average, even though there are plenty of food squares to choose from. The park also has several playgrounds that are both challenging and fun for younger kids, which is a real plus for families. The walk through the park is long but very scenic if you enjoy nature. Parking looks like it could be chaotic on busy days, but thanks to the staff’s excellent handling and clear protocols, there’s really no room for chaos — they keep everything moving smoothly. One tip: don’t bring small items in your pockets (sunglasses, phones, etc.). Consider adding a small travel lock to your bag, otherwise you’ll be required to carry one of the free Apenheul monkey-proof bags. They’re big enough, but when packed too heavy, they can become a real strain on your shoulders. All in all, a beautifully maintained park with wonderful staff and a unique experience — best enjoyed outside peak season.
S L — Google review
Apenheul is an absolutely amazing place — it’s worth visiting Apeldoorn just for this park! The entire experience was fantastic. Even on a very hot day, the park feels pleasant and refreshing thanks to the tall trees and natural shade everywhere. You can walk among various monkey species freely, and it’s incredible how close you can get to them while still respecting their space. The animals seem very well cared for, which really adds to the experience. One small downside: the video shown during the gorilla feeding session was only in Dutch with German subtitles. It would have been more inclusive if English subtitles were also available. The live presentation was also in Dutch, but considering that most visitors are from the Netherlands and many are children, it’s understandable. If you’re anywhere nearby, I highly recommend visiting. A truly unique and enjoyable experience!
Meryem G — Google review
We visited Apenheul and absolutely loved it. The monkeys are adorable 😍🐒 and you can see many of them up close as they move freely around the park. There are also other animals, like capybaras. The whole park is very well equipped, with plenty of rest areas and even sunscreen dispensers available throughout. Everything is clean, well maintained, and organized. The staff is friendly, very attentive to both visitors and the animals, always ready to help. The gorilla presentation was a real highlight. It’s definitely a great place for families with children, but we’re a couple in our twenties and we had a fantastic time too 😊😊

Apenheul – Where the Monkeys Are Better Behaved Than Some Visitors Apenheul was pure magic. The park (and the nearby public park) is spotless, beautifully kept, and just a short walk from a spacious parking area. The real highlight? Dozens of monkey species roaming free, completely at ease – it’s like stepping into their world instead of peering at them from behind glass. At the entrance, you get a free monkey-proof bag to protect your belongings from curious little hands. You can skip it if you’ve already made your own “thief-proof” setup (think carabiners locking your zippers) – but trust me, the monkeys will test your security system. Friendly staff are everywhere, making sure both monkeys and humans stay safe – a small miracle considering there are still the occasional unsupervised kids and the inevitable wheeled trailers people insist on dragging along. The feeding sessions are a must. Check the website or park guide for times – you’ll learn a lot and it’s a joy to watch. Huge applause for the staff, who clearly care deeply for the animals and create an experience that feels respectful, educational, and unforgettable.

Amazing experience. It was a bit crowded, but there wasnt a long wait to get in. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The habitats were spacious, clean, and well-maintained. Very educational and unlike any "zoo" experience I've had in the past.

Paleis Het Loo is a 17th-century palace and garden that offers guided tours of the royal apartments and houses a notable art collection. It's a massive complex that provides insight into the Dutch Royal Family, featuring an excellent cafe and a fun kids playground. The surrounding area also includes Apenheul, an ape zoo, as well as beautiful parks with stately villa neighborhoods and access to the Veluwe forest.
We visited this palace over the weekend, what a pleasant surprise! A beautiful palace, it tells a lot about the history of the kings of Holland, about the architecture. A very well preserved palace, the view from the top of the garden is a sight to behold. We loved everything, one of the best palaces we have ever visited.
S.M.M.L — Google review
Amazing palace, a must visit when you are around. The garden is precious and highly recommended to spend some time outside. The sculptures as well as the plants and flowers are beautiful. The design of the landscape is so cool. Plus, the restaurant is also very good with a scenic view.
Sibel C — Google review
Arguably the most magnificent palace in the Netherlands and it is easily reachable by public transport. It's massive so you really need a full day to explore the palace AND the fabulous gardens. Everything is breathtaking!
Dr S — Google review
Its a great place to visit. The tours inside the palace are nice. You can do a tour with a book so you can read from a folder you can get at the start or do an audio tour. Then the gardens are amazing especially when the weather is in your favor. Parking is close and not expensive (€8 for the day day)
Rick B — Google review
Nice to see inside what furniture and style is in every room. Gardens are nice. But comparing to some other palaces and castles this one is not my top. But it is nice. What I loved is a restaurant inside where they have high tea, really nice design. And nice terrace outdoor. Plus they have some activities like archery or some other games that make you feel like you travel back in time.
Daryna H — Google review
The graden at the Palace is super cool. There are different types of plants, labelled. A lot of mini activities for kids for example archery. Coming to palace itself, it was pretty awesome. A lot of rooms to explore, though some of the floors are not meant for visitors. The roof is accessible as well via a lift - and there can be queues at the lift. Outside the palace, at the initial entrance, there are some historical artifacts to explore as well like the cars driven by the Royals and other stuff. Would like to complement the staff, who are really nice and approachable.
Mohammed S — Google review
Second time visiting after more than 5 years. A great destination to visit with family or friends. A great day out to visit not only the palace but also the garden, the antique cars & carriages collection and the exhibitions. Good facility for visitors such as the toilets, lockers, parking, etc.
Yas A — Google review
We didn’t go inside the palace, but with such beautiful weather we didn’t mind at all. The terrace was a lovely spot to sit, and the gardens are truly worth the visit : peaceful, well kept, and full of charm.

Located in the heart of Apeldoorn, CODA Museum is a contemporary space that offers diverse and innovative exhibitions showcasing various art forms such as painting, sculpture, multimedia art, and design. Visitors can enjoy cultural activities for all ages. The museum features interesting exhibitions like Craft! Now, which provides ample background information and an open display layout for a seamless experience. Additionally, CODA Paper Art is held every two years to honor the city's rich industrial heritage by showcasing current developments in paper art.
I spent a wonderful rainy afternoon here. The paper art exhibition was impressive — creative, thoughtful, and beautifully displayed. No wait to get in, and the location is right in the city centre. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys modern and contemporary art.
Olga P — Google review
Had a quick visit to this museum but unfortunately it was for me. The exhibitions were nice and greatly displayed but beside that it didn’t interest me personally to much. Also the museum seemed very small. Took me about 30 minutes to walk through it.
乇Ⱡ Ꭾ — Google review
Apeldoorn is called "City in Green", and it mainly thrives on the beautiful surroundings in which it is located. In terms of museums, there is less to do than in many other cities, but the CODA museum is highly recommended. It's not big, but definitely nice for a rainy afternoon. The public library and the municipal archives are located in the same building. The CODA museum offers changing exhibitions with modern art, visual art, contemporary fashion and jewelry by (inter)national designers and artists. In addition, there are thematic exhibitions and presentations about the history of Apeldoorn and its surroundings. The biennial Paper Art exhibition is a must-see. Every year you will be surprised by very beautiful and original designs made of paper, ranging from small works of art, objects and jewelry to life-size installations, made by Dutch and international artists. You fall from one surprise into another when you look at the often very beautiful and very original works of art. Well worth your time and attention! Also interesting for school children. This Covid-19 year - 2021 - there is also a small exhibition of very special and artistic masks. The facilities are excellent, the building is wheelchair accessible and wheelchairs can be borrowed. At the CODA café you can enjoy hot and cold drinks, delicious pastries, snacks and lunch dishes.

Cute small modern art museum.

Visited the paper art exhibition. Very interesting with various paper made installations, will come again next year if they host another one.
Yas A — Google review
The staff is nice and helpful. Its a ling walk from train station so better ride a bicycle. The entry in the museum is free if you get a membership of Library. Very easy to get a book and return it. Student playing area also has video games and other activities along with books.
Asad U — Google review
This museum is very poorly signposted - despite it being quite small, we really struggled to find 2 of the 3 exhibitions ("Sprekende juwelen" and Henk Visch) even after asking staff. Instead of having placards next to pieces in these exhibits, you are given printed booklets that you have to keep flipping through to find info on what you're seeing which was both frustrating and a huge waste of paper. The new Travelling Bricks exhibition itself was nice, but a real shame that none of the Lego builders/creators are credited. Luckily entry was free with the Museumkaart because I certainly would not be pleased to pay for this experience.
Melissa — Google review

Park Berg en Bos, established in 1934, sprawls across 250 hectares at the edge of the Veluwe Hills, making it the largest park in the region. The park offers a variety of walking trails and features an ornamental lake and cascades. It is home to a resident herd of wild boar and also houses Apenheul Zoo and Klimbos Veluwe. Visitors can enjoy evening activities during summer and observe apes living freely among them.
Its a beautifull park. U can sit for hours to relax your mind
Zulega K — Google review
A beautiful small lake to walk around, with stunning views from every angle. There are lovely water feature incorporated that feed into the lake and overall it is very well maintained and has a brilliant variety of plant life. There are artworks dotted all around so there is always something extra to see. I also explored surrounding areas and got to see deer and boar. Amazing stuff, free to visit. We barely scratched the surface, but if I were in the area again I would happily visit.
Elizabeth E — Google review
It's a beautiful garden with an amazing landscape. We really enjoyed our walk through the garden and wished for a little more time on our hands to adventure further! Would definitely recommend it for a day tour.
Lena H — Google review
Beautiful park with many activities for all the family in the area. You can simply stroll around and have a picnic or enter some of the activities in the area including the fantastic Klimbos (tree climbing).
Raymond Z — Google review
Beautiful part and a lot of plants, trees etc.
Marek S — Google review
This park is more then meets the eye so be sure to come prepare because unless you are a local you wouldn't know your all day parking fee is only 10 Euros. You also wouldn't know about the Ape Empire inside at an additional cost. You will probably miss the high tree zip line, also at an additional cost. All worth it though. You want to bring your own food and have a picnic while the children play. Having said that, bring an extra set of clothes for the kiddoes because there is a pile of mud where they can play, but don't worry, you also have a water pump you can use to clean them up. Overall, just come prepare to admire the breathtaking scenaries all around you. Oh, and don't forget to climb the watch Tower.
Rendasosa — Google review

Nestled in the heart of the city, Schouwburg Orpheus has been a cultural gem since its inception in 1965. This modern theater not only hosts a diverse array of performances—from musicals to cabaret—but also serves as an exceptional venue for conferences and events, thanks to its remarkable acoustics. As one of the five largest theaters in the Netherlands, it attracts both locals and tourists alike who come to enjoy captivating shows over multiple days.
Great venue with wonderful acoustics, large stage and pit. Seats are well distributed on different levels in the hall which makes the view quite unique from the different angles. Backstage the dressing rooms are spacious and comfortable. The Artistenfoyer is large and there’s plenty of areas where one can sit or chill. The staff was very nice and helpful. The audience who attended our performance of Swan lake was very welcoming and seemed to enjoy the experience very much.

Julianatoren Apeldoorn is a seasonal theme park located on the western outskirts of Apeldoorn, Netherlands. Geared towards children under 12, it offers over 60 rides and attractions including a Ferris wheel and several rollercoasters. The park is designed to be super child-friendly with almost every ride suitable for small kids. It features mouse and dino-themed entertainment aimed at children aged 2-10 years old.
Price is 29.5. Recommend to buy tickets 14 or 7 days in advance to get a good discount. If you visit in weekend, after 11 o'clock, the parking lot in front of entrance will be already full. Then you have to go at the second very large parking lot, and a shuttle bus will take you free of charge to the main entrance. Inside are a lot of options for small kids, it is amaizing how many "picnic places" and green space around. Our kid of 3,5 years enjoyed fully the entertainment options.
Burduja I — Google review
Great amusement park for young kids (<10). Best for toddlers. Not too big, they can't get lost. If you arrive around 10:00, you can park at P1. If you are there after 10:30, don't even bother and head straight for P2. Oh and though the park opens at 10:00, you can't go in before 10:30 so you stand around in the food court behind the entrance. There is a little sign and dance show for the little ones.
Christian P — Google review
Great amusement park for kids to enjoy. Parents can join kids in pretty much every ride. The staff at the rides are also very kind and polite. There can be pretty big queues at each ride.
Mohammed S — Google review
Very fun park for kids and adults to join in. Good - many good attractions - attractions are not scattered across are large area. - many places to sit and rest - allowed to bring your own food and drinks - plenty of food and drinks stalls - parking P1 is next to the park, P2 is 5min ride with the bus (free provided by the park) - instead of closing down all the attractions at once, they gradually close between 17 and 18, reducing the crowd at the exit, very smart!
AQ — Google review
It's a wonderful park specially designed for kids of all ages. Adults could also enjoy rides along with their little ones.
Ravi T — Google review
Sort of like an overgrown Kermis. Mostly Carnival rides. Some rides you or a friend operate the attraction, pulling yourself up or starting the ride by pressing the buttons. The park had a delayed opening and technical difficulties due to a power outage in the morning. Cute shows for the kids. Kids sit up front. Parents and families sit in the back, it's gives you a few minutes to sit at least. If you buy the character cups, ask for the one want. They should have all of them. A sweet girl change it for us! We didn't fully understand why there were barrels with the cavemen and dinosaurs. This ride also had an extremely long wait. I'm not sure why the gentleman was taking so long to send the cars after they loaded. I assume they didn't have enough cars on the track, but it just seemed to take so long.
Ashlee C — Google review
Great park with attractions for children. Large selection of attractions from small to medium children. I recommend to visit.

Kids can enjoy mini golf, pedalos on the water, and take rides on a small train. Additionally, they can build their own huts or explore climbing courses.
It’s a nice well kept park, ideal for kids up to 8-9 years. Animals are looked after well too. A bit expensive for a whole family, perhaps would be better to pay a ticket for kids only

We went on a weekday but a school holiday. There are many different activities inside. You can ride a sea bike, jump on an inflatable hill, play with many toys and visit a small zoo. You can benefit from many activities in a wide area. Open at 5:00 on regular days, but until 6:00 on holidays. You can park in the nearby free parking lot. Ten euros per person for a child and adults. Free for children under one-year-old. Nice but a little expensive.

This place is amazing, it has allot to offer! For adults, young children. But also, for older children. They have lots of different slides, within the woods but also on a playground like side. The also have animals for the youngest and a traffic square with go-karts (manual food thrust) for the older kids. It has multiple catering houses, you can drink eat etc. In the sun or shadow, lots of benches to sit on and enjoy. Definitely a place to go back with the family! Also, see the photos.

The Grote Kerk, a prominent Protestant church in the Netherlands, is often referred to as 'Grote Kerk' and is located in Apeldoorn's city center. Built in 1892 with an architectural style inspired by the Neo-Renaissance era, this relatively modern church features a notable bell tower. The foundation stone was laid by Princess Wilhelmina herself, who also frequented the church.
Only saw from the outside, but loved hearing the bells ringing on Sunday morning!

Excellent customer service. Very friendly staff combined with typical dutch relaxness. Great infrastructure and good restaurant „Take Off“. Free Wifi for customers and good briefing room. The rates are fair but a tad on the expensive side. Definitely a place worth to fly to.

Fantastic airport with friendly and engaging staff, who manage to organise air and ground traffic in an excellent and orderly manner. The nearby river and cities (e.g. Deventer and Appeldorn) make for rather scenic approaches as well. Always a pleasure to fly there!

Tapas restaurant
't Zusje Apeldoorn is a top-notch eatery that offers a delightful dining experience with delectable dishes. The interior of the restaurant boasts an exquisite decor, providing guests with the option to choose between upper and lower seating arrangements. The menu predominantly features tapas, which are not only scrumptious but also meticulously prepared. This establishment's dedication to culinary excellence is truly commendable and justifies the price tag.
A Tuesday night visit and the place was busy, a good sign. The food and service was great. Being English and not having great knowledge of the Dutch language our waitress noticed my struggle and offered me a menu in English. All.the staff were very nice too. The food I would describe as tapas from around the world which is a great idea and also it was executed very well. I had at least 12 plates of food (portions are small) but very very tasty, I could have had 12 more but time was against me as was not wanting to put on lots of weight!!!! I would highly recommend as nice atmosphere and decor, great food and staff.
TIM S — Google review
Excellent option for a long night out. Small plates were very tasty (some better than others but overall quite good). Bao bun was my favourite, the duck the least. Brownie with ice cream was delicious. Atmosphere is quite nice, my friends and I enjoyed the night so much we stayed there until almost closing time. Recommend for big groups or small cozy gatherings with close friends.

Nice place, tasty food, attentive waitresses. You can choose 2 dishes (tapas) out of the menu and the round costs 7.60€. You can order as many rounds as you want. Drinks are paid apart. To me it's a bit overpriced but very nice experience and very Lekker.

A great idea. All you can eat but really all you can sample. Don't be afraid of ordering something and not liking because the next dish will soon be on its way. Seemingly endless small plates of fantastic quality tasters that will eventually fill even the largest appetite. A set price for food, drinks are extra. Thanks for a great night.👍

Good food, nice staff. Felt like they slowed down taking the food orders the more rounds you ordered tho, but plenty of time to get full.

Had a great time visiting 't Zusje in Apeldoorn. Food (Tapas) looked amazing and was delicious. They put a lot of effort in it and it is absolutly worth your money. The restaurant has an 'All you can eat' concept so suprises regarding payment only come from ordered drinks. Book in advance, 't Zusje is extremely populair and no doubt full if you haven't. That said, it could take some time to get what you ordered. There are also tables that place you pretty close next to other guests. All in all a great restaurant.

Great atmosphere, friendly service, good food. Arguably one of the best places in Apeldoorn to grab some drinks. Good selection of wines as well. Service works through QR codes provided at every table. Food is nice, portions are big though. If you're contemplating getting that extra side dish, just order it afterwards if you still want it.

The waiter women are so unfriendly and rude .they leave us longer till anyone comes to ask what we are going to eat ? Then a nice bland man comes and asks us then they come to take order .they still discriminate against the different kinds of people but this is not nice behaviour.indeed the food is delicious and the service from the waiter is very bad .best succes guys with your behavior.

Good atmosphere and good service. They have a room especially for presentations and meetings. After the meeting, upstairs dinner can be served which was of good quality.
Reno J — Google review
Very slow service. Food was a disappointment. Really small portion of salmon that honestly after finishing I didnt even feel like I ate anything. At least it did taste decent and the fries were also pretty good but overall the service extremely chaotic and seemed like they only really had the most people outside so with four people it shouldn't really be that hard to manage such a section. If you want a decent service maybe try applying for a job there and serve yourself, might be quicker.

It was pretty good for an Irish pub in the Netherlands. I had the fish and chips and my partner had a vegetarian pot pie. Definitely lots of vegetarian options which was nice to see.
Dr. B — Google review
It's a fairly standard pub, as in you get what you expect from it, both for food and atmosphere. I liked it very much and if we lived in Apeldoorn, we would come back regularly. But I must say, the browny ice cream that a lot of people mention here - it is just fabulous! I rarely order desserts in a pub, but we will be back to Finnegan's and I'll order it again 😄
Anastasia T — Google review
I came here for dinner with a friend. The food was okay; the steak was great but nothing extraordinary. However, I felt like the salad was not properly processed. The dessert, on the other hand, was perfect! Definitely try out the brownies with ice cream. I am well aware that the food is not the main selling point of this pub. And if you come here for beer or whiskey, this is the perfect place for you. The offering is great, and you can enjoy it in a cozy Irish setting. The service felt a bit hectic, but that may be due to the volume of people that visit this place. Nevertheless, the staff was keeping a positive attitude, so there is nothing too bad about it. This is just a bit unfortunate thing that the drink menu does not list drinks without alcohol, such as sodas. While this is indeed not the best place for such drinks, I suppose, they are still nice to go with food. And they have them, anyway, so why not list them in the menu?

Well, chalk this up as yet another very pleasant lunch experience. This is my first time going to a lunchroom with coffee and bagels as their specialties, so eating and drinking here was already going to be a surprise. And you guys absolutely delivered. The matcha tea was really good. Not too sweet, not too bland, and the exact sweet spot for temperature. As for the bagel - I was expecting a regular chili chicken thing when I ordered the Thai Chili Chicken bagel. But the taste was actually reminiscent of some food I had in my favorite Thai restaurant, so an authentic taste was pulled off. The location of this b&b is perfectly close to the center and close to the station. There is a bus stop right in front of the door. The rooms are quite big. And perfect for a long stay as well as for just a short visit. In the room, there is a small kitchen counter. The bathroom is shared. But since you only share the bathroom with half of the rooms (the B&B only has 7 rooms in total. 4 upstairs, 3downstairs), it's not inconvenient. There is also a restaurant. the food is just FANTASTIC. We really enjoyed it The only downside about this b&b is that there is no staff after 17:00. But the staff is just great! They all want to help you and they're very nice and sweet. I will definitely go back soon! :-)

This is a lovely B&B, 10 min. walking from the local train station and right in the city centre. Like most B&B toilets are shared but they were clear and the shower worked perfectly. My room was rather spacious, had a kitchenette corner, a relaxing arm chair and a decent mattress. Overall very good. You also have access to a kitchen, with a shared fridge and microwave you can use. The breakfast was very good and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again! Just note that the reception is not open 24/7... Plan your arrival time carefully.

Awesome place for a quick drink, a nice chat, food or to relax before or after youve watched a movie or followed an interesting course. There is free wifi, toilets and lovely helpfull personal that help find a nice drink.

Visitors rave about the friendly staff and the inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for sports enthusiasts. While some have noted it can get warm during events like volleyball games, the excitement remains palpable throughout.
Great complex, very accessible, modern and easy to get around. Went to see the Euro Indoor Championships of Athletics, was truly well organised!

A great indoor cycle track. Everything top of the line: the seating area, the hall, the atmosphere. The aptly named "handle bar" served nice and reasonably priced snacks and inner. The personal was friendly, even though the guards didn't let us take our own food inside. Awesome that I got to see the jr world championship here. I can only imagine how crazy the atmosphere must be when the real world championships are hosted. Would love to return.

The VNL was amazing 🤩 but sitting in the back upstairs means that you'll see only some tiny players like watching the TV at home. They have stands with drinks and hotdogs, but expect to see a queue.
Elena L — Google review
I visited Omnisport Apeldoorn for the VNL volleyball matches. While the arena itself was nice and well-equipped for sports events, the overall organization was very poor. The venue was adapted for volleyball, but it was incredibly difficult and time-consuming to reach the designated seating areas. They didn’t assign individual seats, so everyone just sat wherever they wanted. This led to very long lines and unnecessary waiting times. On top of that, there were three different ticket categories, but there was no clear signage or guidance in the queue areas. As a result, many people waited in the wrong lines. Unless they change their system and provide assigned seating, I wouldn’t attend another event here. The venue has potential, but the management needs serious improvement.
Meryem G — Google review
It was too warm inside during the volleyball game tonight. For the rest, excellent atmosphere.
Melisa A — Google review
I cannot understand why a big and serious organization like VNL is organized in an arena dedicated for athletics. The sitting area for the suppoters are apperantly built just for the volleyball games. Finding the way to the correct seating location is totally a nightmate. It is like a labyrint. There are no space between the seat rows making it impossible to leave your seat for toilet or café. Not to mention the rudeness of the security staff. Hoping that VNL will not be held here anymore.

CODA Centrale Bibliotheek is a popular spot, especially around 2 PM on Mondays. The library has been renovated and offers a beautiful and spacious environment with a wide range of books including children's and youth books, non-fiction, English books, and novels. It can get a bit noisy due to children using the slide but it adds to the charm. There are study rooms available for those looking for a quiet place to work or learn about the latest developments.
It is difficult to concentrate here as it is so noisy. But it is a nice place with a nice cafeteria
Mahdieh A — Google review
Er wordt al jaren gebouwd en het is altijd erg luidruchtig. It is more like a playground for children. Children scream loudly all the day. And you can hear the screaming all over the building. I understand that library is a place for children to have entertainment. But there should be some measurement to isolate the noise. Unfortunately, after the renovation the situation is still disappointing. As far as I see, few people are here for reading or learning.

Soho S — Google review
(Translated by Google) The library has a nice collection of books, but the place itself is terrible. There's no quiet place where you can read the newspaper or browse a book undisturbed. It doesn't really matter when you go. It's always noisy. It's become a kind of play paradise for children. After-school care centers (BSOs) also make extensive use of it. It's easy and cheap, and at the expense of other visitors. Disgraceful. A slide in a library? How could anyone come up with that? There are plenty of playgrounds in and around Apeldoorn. A place to read quietly isn't! Please do something about it! The library should also be a meeting place. Why? There are plenty of places in Apeldoorn to meet. For example, the Coda café... Coda's responses to the complaints are also very disturbing. They're not taken seriously. A general reaction to rather specific complaints. There's also no evidence of recognition or willingness to change anything.
(Translated by Google) Back at the library for the first time in a long time. But what an unbelievable racket there! Screaming and screaming children. Why don't the library staff say anything? Even the parents just let their children scream and shout... This is just not normal! Parenting isn't just something you do at home, but also outside. Children need to learn to behave calmly sometimes. Screaming and shouting is absurd, isn't it? I saw a lot of young people studying, and there were a lot of older people in the reading room... Why should they have to be bothered by all that screaming? And don't tell me library staff don't have time for this, because during the three hours I was there (working), I saw the desk clerk just sitting in her chair, doing absolutely nothing except looking at her phone. Instead, she could decide to address these screamers. I also read the library's usual response in the reviews here. In this post, you say the library is for everyone, even young children. What nonsense. Children don't have to be everywhere adults are, doing whatever they want. Children have their own space. And children also need to learn about decency. And if their parents don't teach them that, then the library staff are there to teach them. A large slide in a library is an absurd idea anyway. Who comes up with something so absurd? Then you don't really understand the purpose of a library... and you certainly don't understand what all the adults, elderly people, and students need. No one wants to be bothered by (other people's) children. And no one enjoys studying, working, sitting in the reading room, and checking out books in all this noise. And having children in the library is fine, of course, but make them behave, and if not, just say something!

Fantastic tree-climbing activities. Well-priced with climbing activities for many different abilities. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Great place for kids highly recommended!

Very fun park :) loved the 14M and the zipline routes! Id recommend taking about 3 hours out of your day for this, in which you can do about 4-6 routes depending on which ones you do and how long it takes you. There's basically something for everything. There's ones around 2M, and there's one that's 22M. There's also a free fall and a bungee jump. Would definitely recommend going!
Berend — Google review
There is a parking lot available that costs €1.07 per hour (as of July 2025). From there, we walked through a beautiful park to reach the climbing area. It’s important to arrive on time for the safety briefing—if you miss it, you’ll need to wait 30 minutes for the next session. The climbing park offers different routes based on difficulty. I enjoyed the blue route, and next time I’d like to try the red and black ones. For beginners, I recommend starting with the orange or green routes. There’s also a café that serves brownies, toasties, ice cream, and more, as well as an outdoor seating area. Lockers are provided free of charge to store your belongings.
Dania — Google review
This is a nice place to visit. As an adult you can go for red, brown or black routes. The children have 4 orange routes. These are challenging and you must be at least 1.20M, advised is 7 years of age. It starts with a quick but decent briefing and demo from the instructor. Then you climb a demo route. The instructor checks and then you can go ahead! Parking is 5/10 minutes away. Park at "Berg en Bos". Parking is €10,25.

Top please to go with kids, family or friends if you are into active and fun time on fresh air!

A beautiful climbing park. The trees are all tall and strong. Many other parks are built on poles, but not here. There are loads of zip-lines at different heights. This is attractive to young adults and kids too. Interestingly there is an ape zoo next door :-)
Teemu P — Google review
It's a great place to go climb with friends, it has a bunch of courses with varying difficulty levels indicated by symbols at the start of the course From the moment you lock your hook onto the start of the course, you can't unhook it until the end so you're safe the entire way 10/10

Brilliant day out to see these beautifully restored steam engines in Holland. The journey was excellent and not crowded with plenty of opportunities to photograph the engines. Also a great opportunity to see the turntable in operation.

Abusolutely lovely day trip and step back in time! Feels like a mini holiday outside Netherlands. The only tip is if you come with a baby, the child carriage won’t fit in these old steam trains. And dress up warm in autumn/winter because there is no heater inside the train.
Haishan X — Google review
Historically important, yearly event and often openings year round. Impressive collection of steam trains. People take the time to explain the origin of the machines, the state of maintenance and their functions. Allowed to come inside some of the hot and living. Note: steam and diesel (depot has many of them)

Fantastic working steam train to visit, 2 hour round trip with drinks and snacks available on board. You can also walk around the yard with many other locomotives in various states. On return to the yard the locomotive did a full rotation on the turntable before shunting some trucks around and returning to the engine shed allowing views of the whole locomotive.

The play area is very nice. Bigger than some of the other MonkeyTowns. They also have a good selection of food. Only reason for not giving 4 stars is because the last couple of times our children had problems with other children "bullying" them. Yes children do that sometimes, but we have only experienced it at this MonkeyTown and no other for some reason.

Insane waiting time for food. We ordered 4 sandwiches and had to wait an hour. The only excuse was the number of kids parties. Their solution? As the kitchen was open from 10, order earlier.
