Euromast is a must-visit TV tower in Rotterdam, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the city. It features dining options and two luxurious suites, as well as thrilling activities like abseiling and a zipline. The tour around Euromast includes exploring various residential typologies, IT and media compounds, educational facilities, and sustainable projects such as the SAWA housing tower.
Great tour! It was so much fun and very entertaining, and you discover even more of Rotterdam's beauty! I would definitely recommend doing everything, including the scoop at the end (if you're not afraid of heights, of course). I highly recommend this attraction.
Debson D — Google review
A must! Incredible views. We went up just before sunset and then after sunset, we had a drink and A DELICIOUS AND GENEROUS portion of their fries with truffle mayo and parmesan, so worth it. After that we went back out to experience the views of the lights. It's like 3 experiences in 1. Highly recommend it to locals and tourists.
Magriet J — Google review
Absolutely stunning views and great hospitality. The restaurant, which is accessible by a high-speed lift up overlooks the spectacular scenery of Rotterdam. Food was delicious and service was really friendly. Highly recommended for a visit if you're in Rotterdam.
Victor T — Google review
The waiter was pretty rude! One of the waitresses got us a table with a nice view but that was all of the good experience. We waited 20 minutes to order and when the waiter came he told us that table has a reservation and we had to move to another one so we left the restaurant.
Gosha R — Google review
A moment suspended between sky and earth. The Euromast restaurant offers a culinary experience as memorable as the view that accompanies it. Each dish reflects a refined balance of flavors and a meticulous presentation, enhanced by discreet and attentive service. The panorama over Rotterdam, especially at sunset, lends the whole experience an atmosphere that is both intimate and spectacular. An exceptional address perfect for celebrating a special occasion or simply savoring the Dutch art of living with elegance.
Aimen — Google review
We saw Euromast from the outside. I think the entrance fee is too much. We didn't go up the tower. But it gives a different atmosphere to the city. The park right next to it is very well organized. There is a nice walking area.
Mehmet Ş — Google review
Was great to br able to see Rotterdam from such a height and there is a small video you watch to show the history of Rotterdam. Would have been better if they had signs to show what you are looking at once you are on the viewing platform. Instead there is a QR code you can scan and then you are supposed to be able to point your camera at things and it will tell you what it was, however it doesn't work well at all. You also have to buy a more expensive ticket to go to the highest point. They also do abseiling down the Euromast which wasn't widely advertised.
Jasmine P — Google review
Great views of Rotterdam, and the extra pay to go up to the top is worth it, but the down side is the wait to get into the Euro scoop, you wait out side is the wind and rain. But the view is worth it. Wrap up warm if you visiting in the winter

Miniworld Rotterdam is a captivating attraction housed in a spacious warehouse, spanning over 535 square meters. It features an intricate miniature model of Rotterdam, complete with day and night simulations. The exhibit showcases famous landmarks and attractions of the Netherlands on a small scale, including a detailed replica of the Rotterdam Port and Water Port. Visitors can marvel at the 2.
My kids age 4 and 8 loved it. I like that you can use the ticket for 99 days (I believe even 1 year if you buy something extra for 4.5€). I like that they added paw patrol and pokemon figures around the place for children to find. We will come back
Anca S — Google review
I enjoyed it here. The building itself looks a little tired and dated, but there are lots of detailed models, mostly of places around Rotterdam. They also have a new section downstairs, with models of places in the UK. It was a work in progress (in February 2025) but it's good to see that they are still adding new attractions. There is a restaurant (although I didn't eat there), as well as a gift shop, which sells a wide range of products, such as models, trains etc. Overall, a good experience and worth visiting if you're in Rotterdam.
Tintin — Google review
The miniatures were cool to look at. We had fun spotting the Pokémons and interacting with the displays via the buttons you can press to make things move. However, the place needs a bit of updating, like the paint on the walls, the ceilings, and the floor. They're still building the rest of the UK miniatures. The staff in the reception was nice and efficient, but not very friendly or talkative, but it's fine. We went on a hot weekend and the place inside felt cool so that's nice! It was also not too crowded.
Jianne B — Google review
Lovely view of the entire city in one special place … loved how the little miniatures mimic real life movements. Really appreciate the time and effort it must take to make as well as keep these miniatures alive.
Nerina N — Google review
Amazing experience...all Netherlands landmarks in once day and night modes plus it includes Great Britain 🇬🇧 highly recommended 👍
Lucia B — Google review
Really great miniature museum showcasing what feels really authentic Netherlands landscapes and some of the main Rotterdam landmarks. It's amazingly crafted, and you can get a sneak peek of the work being done behind the scene with view of the workshop and the train system control station. Pretty cool! There's also a UK exhibition on in the basement with great castles and mountain towns. The whole place feels really cozy and family friendly, there's also a small gift-shop and restaurant. The person at the front desk was really nice and welcoming, giving some explanation on where to go and what to see. If you like miniatures, don't miss out!
Julien P — Google review
The attention to detail in these models is incredible. I enjoyed it as a tourist, so I could imagine how much more enjoyable it would’ve been had I had more context and knowledge of the city. Money & time well spent!
Denver B — Google review
The interior of the building felt a bit old and the lady in the front just needed to scan my ticket to let me in but took quite a while before she actually got me in because she was busy with a phone call (someone seemed to be making an appointment for a big group) but I waited probably 10 to 15 minutes before being helped. I think that is room for improvement but it was just one employee. The actual displays themselves are something to behold, it really brought back my inner child and there are plenty of interactive displays. In addition to all of this, they have the lights go out periodically to simulate night and day. I highly recommend this even though I had a bit of an inconvenience in the beginning.

Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Rotterdam Zoo, also known as Diergaarde Blijdorp, is a historic zoo established in 1857 and renowned for its successful breeding programs. The zoo features diverse themed areas such as the Asian section with a swamp forest and large aviaries, a Mongolian steppe, a bat cave, and a Chinese garden. Visitors can observe various wildlife including rhinos, lions, tigers, giraffes, gorillas, polar bears, penguins and elephants.
Great Zoo! The zoo was bigger than i expected, to get through it we walked around from 11:00 till 17:00. A big sealife area is present with lots of different types of animals. Then you have themes all around the park with animals there based on where they live in the world, recommended for couples and families!
Brent V — Google review
Main attraction was red panada to which we come to see and actually end up seeing was very cute to see in natural. The other cute anaimal was volpus artic fox. The zoo has many animals and eating facilities and areas for the children to play. I would recommend a visit, perfect for a family day out
Asad Z — Google review
Diergaarde Blijdorp offers a truly remarkable experience for animal lovers and families alike, standing out as an exceptionally clean zoo with a palpable commitment to its inhabitants. From the moment we entered, the well-kept paths and immaculate grounds made for a pleasant day of exploration. Excellent Habitats and Animal Health The overall impression of animal care was overwhelmingly positive. It was clear that the animals are well cared for, appearing healthy, active, and thriving in their environments. The zoo boasts various animals from different continents, ensuring that every corner of the park provides a new discovery. What impressed me most was the thoughtful design of the enclosures; each animal enjoys quite a spacious area with a good environment that seems tailored to its natural needs. This dedication to natural habitats, rather than small cages, is what sets Blijdorp apart. A personal highlight was watching the elephants; the herd was incredibly active, with one elephant being particularly friendly and playful it was a joyous sight to see them interacting so freely and happily. Room for Improvement While the main zoo experience was superb, there were a couple of minor disappointments worth noting. Sadly, the indoor kid area had a noticeable smell of urine. Given the high standards everywhere else in the park, this was quite a letdown and made the time spent there less enjoyable for the adults. It’s definitely an area that needs more frequent attention from the cleaning crew. The second issue was the technical failure of a key souvenir opportunity. We were disappointed to find that the photo machine didn't really work when we tried to use it. We had really hoped to use it as a souvenir of our visit that day, so having it out of order was a small but significant frustration at the end of a long day. Despite these minor organizational hiccups, the sheer quality of the animal habitats and the overall beautiful, clean presentation of the zoo ensures Blijdorp remains a top tier attraction. The focus on animal welfare is undeniable, making it a highly recommended place to visit.
Irma Y — Google review
An absolutely amazing experience at Blijdorp Zoo! 🐘 The zoo has so much to offer it’s large in size, beautifully maintained and full of gorgeous animals surrounded by nature. You can easily spend the whole day here with kids or family. I totally recommend visiting here it’s such a wonderful place!
Aswini K — Google review
This is our third visit to the zoo. We really love it! The enclosures for the animals are spacious and the staff seem to really care and they make sure that the animals aren't bored. I didn't take any photos this time of the sea lions or the penguins, but they were very entertaining, as always. The sea lions were in a cuddle/huddle in the outdoor viewing area. They were singing quite loudly, also. It's so fun to watch the penguins swim. The underwater tunnel is a place to sit and dream of being in the water with the animals. We saw an angel fish that was working out, swimming against a current. 😁 We also saw a shark resting on the floor of the glass above is in the tunnel. It's so nice to go here and see bison, which reminds me of the Midwest (USA). While walking past the polar bear exhibit, we thought that we were unlikely to see them, as they were not outside. However, as we were about to leave that area, two emerged from one of their homes, standing on their hind legs and fighting. It was wild! We were happy that we got the chance to see them. My kid loves the gift shop. If there's an unusual stuffed plush animal you are seeking, it is likely they carry it. We always take home a new one with each visit. This visit was a stuffed deer. Highly recommend a visit. Make sure you have energy, because it can be a lot of walking if you want to see all parts of the zoo.
Numinous N — Google review
Interesting visit for this zoo and equirium. It is so big Zoo, require at least 4 hours to discover it. Recommended if you will visit Rotterdam. Buy tickets online will be easier to access from the official website.
Khalil A — Google review
As a family, we like to visit different animal parks wherever we go. This time we went to Rotterdam, and we defenitely were not dissapointed. Altho some places looked empty or not habited, the ones that were looked great. The animal(s) looked good. It made me think of a smaller version of pairi daiza here in Belgium. Off course it’s not comparable, but I think with the right sponsors and whatnot. They could get there at some point :) we would probably go again if we were in Rotterdam, especially with young kids. To me this was so baby/kids friendly!
Alexia M — Google review
Rotterdam Zoo is a beautifully designed, peaceful place where animals are cared for in naturalistic habitats. One unforgettable moment for me was seeing a majestic white bear — calm, powerful, and mesmerizing. It made the visit truly special.

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, situated in Rotterdam, is a renowned 1930s art museum showcasing an extensive collection of Dutch and European masterpieces spanning from the early Middle Ages to the present day. The museum houses over 152,000 works of art including paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, crafts and design.
Such a great concept for educating the public about art. As they say, it’s a repository, not a museum per se. You can watch restorations in progress and there are interactive displays. The one display that I really appreciated was on the 5th floor where the backs of paintings were displayed which is something one almost never sees. You could trace the idiosyncrasies and the histories of provenance. Fascinating!
Gordon S — Google review
Amazing building. Unfortunately, the rooftop has no chairs for the public, except for the cafe/restaurant. Some rooms have a lot of empty space. For us the Belvedere Storyhouse provided the best experience.
Leonardo M — Google review
Overwhelming for sure - from the inside and outside. And from the top. Stating the obvious the architecture is absolutely stunning - take your time and take pictures. So much to discover and there is always little twinkle in the illuminated windows to the depot. The weeping glas exhibition was fascinating and enlightening. Great beer selection on the rooftop restaurant ( and of course great view and a magical little autumn forest.
Nomi R — Google review
Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam is currently closed for major renovations, with a planned reopening in 2029. Although I couldn’t go inside, I still stopped by to admire and photograph the exterior—and it didn’t disappoint. The building has a unique charm, blending classic and modern architectural styles with its red-brick façade and clean, elegant lines. It stands out beautifully in the Museumpark area and is definitely worth a visit just for the architecture. Right next to it is the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, an eye-catching, mirrored bowl-shaped building that’s actually an art storage facility open to the public. Even from the outside, it’s a stunning structure, reflecting the sky and surroundings in a really striking way. It’s a great place for photos and a good example of how Rotterdam mixes art and architecture in creative ways. Although I didn’t get to explore the museum’s collection this time, the visit was still worthwhile. If you're in Rotterdam, it’s a lovely stop—especially for anyone who enjoys architecture or photography. Looking forward to coming back once the museum reopens to see what’s inside.
Neenu ( — Google review
I loved every bit of this museum. It was fun to explore each floor. You're able to go to each floor either by stairs or the lift depending on which one you prefer. Getting to the last floor wil be worth it. If your in rotterdam definitely go see it.
Amez — Google review
This was a total disappointment to be honest. Most of the places were not accessible and only in appointed times (around 1-2x for the whole day!!) And some were not accessible. The art was arranged in a confusing way such as were the description. Some touch the screens were not working. The app you scan the qr code but then it doesn't actually inform you anything. A lot of contemporary stuff (sorry not my gig). So you had a picasso and Rembrandt mixed with a huge image of a guy laying down with his hairy p€nis showing. It was rather odd. The place was clean and neat. The terrace was OK. Is it worth 20 euros? Never. Will I came back? Most likely not.
Julie C — Google review
Nothing so special if you're an art lover. However, the rooftop is great with some really special coffee
Oksana S — Google review
I didn't walk around the museum, but only went up to the roof. A beautiful view of the city opens. there is also a coffee shop and there are also beautiful trees that reminded me of my homeland...💙💛 Regarding the price: the ticket costs 20€, but with the museum card it is 1€

The S.S. Rotterdam offers a unique experience as a hotel, restaurant, and tourist attraction all in one. This former cruise ship turned hotel provides colorful rooms, free breakfast, and an outdoor pool for guests to enjoy. Visitors can book tickets for a dinnertime cruise on the pancake boat to get an overview of the city and its port. The Museum Rotterdam offers insight into the city's history with a one-hour overview.
Lovely hotel. It really felt like we were on a cruise. Lovely room with a view, and friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was great and we had it every day. On the last night, we had dinner on the ship. It was delicious. Easy to get about. Water taxi from boat or bus stop nearby. We had a great stay.
Lauretta H — Google review
Enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again. However upon our first arrival our cab dropped us off next to the ship and it wasn't clear which of the three ways to board was the correct entrance, and eventually we figured out the entrance was the stairway tower with the broken elevator. There was also a noticeable difference between the breakfast buffet on the weekend and the weekday breakfast buffet. But we loved the retro vibe and the vintage luggage and ship displays. Plus walking the nearby small neighborhood which has a couple good restaurants.
Nick S — Google review
A beautifully maintained ocean liner from a bygone era. Now it’s a hotel, museum and restaurant. It’s free to enter and roam around the public areas or visit the cafe and restaurant. However the all area tour requires the purchase of a ticket. There is a small cinema which is free to enter and showing a short video of what travel would have been like on this ship. From the top deck you also have a good view of Rotterdam and the harbour. I recommend to combine this visit with the FENIX migration museum which is in walking distance and gives a broader overview and shows videos of shipping of that era including film material of the SS Rotterdam.
Uwe — Google review
Had drinks and appetizers in the Captain's lounge of the former Holland America flagship. They were very and the G&T was well presented, decorated with mint leaves and strawberries. While undoubtedly a great ship in the 1950s, I'm glad we are sailing on the new one tomorrow.
David F — Google review
We had an excellent stay on the SS Rotterdam. We stayed for two nights in a deluxe room, including breakfast, and had dinner in the Lido restaurant on one of the evenings. This was our sixth stay on the ship. During previous visits, we stayed in a family room, which I don’t recommend due to ventilation system noise. The watertaxi platform is very convenient, allowing easy access to various locations in Rotterdam. It’s also a very pleasant walk from the ship to Hotel New York, the Erasmus Bridge, the Cube Houses and the Markthal. The staff were friendly and we had a wonderful time.
Gerard — Google review
Honestly just a fantastic place to stay! Really felt like a unique one of a kind hotel. We were there for a week in July and my children talk about it every day. The little paddling pool for children on the top deck is fantastic!! The rooms are spacious and charming. But our favourite part was probably the water taxis which pick you up right outside and zip you across to the centre in minutes. Absolutely blew us away and we’d love to visit again one day!
Anna — Google review
My wife and I really enjoyed this hotel. The location is excellent with water taxi service right onto the ship. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and restaurant. The Lido open air deck is fantastic! Our room was a suite which was very nice. Finally, free shuttle to the cruise terminal (at least when cruising on Holland America, not sure about other cruise lines).
Jeff Y — Google review
Water pressure is too low for reasonable shower. Size of the rooms is very good. My biggest concern with this property is that I was locked into the emergency escape stairwell with no way either back into the rest of the ship nor out of it. This is dangerous and unacceptable and the front desk did not recognize this problem.

Museum
The Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen is a striking addition to Rotterdam's skyline, resembling a giant mirror-clad bowl. It serves as an art storage facility for the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore its 151,000-strong collection, including works by renowned artists such as Monet, Rembrandt, Mondriaan, and Warhol.
Worth visiting just for the building’s architecture- but inside and out. Don’t miss the rooftop terrace for amazing views over the city. The bar remains open after the museum closes, so if you are short of time you can visit the Terrance after your museum visit The exhibits challenge visitors on how they interpret art. I enjoyed seeing how the exhibits are stored and loved the exhibit on the challenge of storing the glass pieces
Annalisa C — Google review
Way more than a museum. Please see the pics and videos. You might not be lucky enough to catch the open day, but it is worth paying €20! It is mentioned that there are more than 100K items. Visitors of all ages can easily find something of their interest from the drawing room to the movie saloon, the terrace view of the city, the amazing cafeteria and the store of course
Zuhal — Google review
The Depot is an architectural masterpiece. A must see for anyone visiting Rotterdam. The space is absolutely stunning. The collection on display is constantly updated, so even if you have visited before, it’s worth revisiting time and time again.
Shereen H — Google review
The depot is the world’s first publicly accessible art storage facility, a cultural icon where visitors can explore behind the scenes of a vast collection. Opened in 2021 and designed by Dutch architecture firm MVRDV, it was created while the main Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum undergoes renovation, housing more than 150,000 works. Its mirrored, bowl-shaped building has become a Rotterdam landmark, topped with a rooftop garden offering panoramic city views. By opening what is traditionally a closed space, the depot has introduced an innovative model that has inspired museums worldwide.
Seokjin H — Google review
At the time I couldn't enter, it was closed I believe but according to other's people's reviews, I would love it inside. Next time 🫶🏻 amazing and uniqie from outside with a nice pond and garden around. Worth the visit, even if you can't enter, you have a park in front where you can relax and enjoy the view.
Amina M — Google review
The Depot is an interesting look at some of the behind the scenes of museums. It is not a full museum (the museum is currentlyclosed), rather its that some pieces are on display while some storage rooms let you see how everything is stored (in their boxes/crates) and some areas allow looks into conservation and restoration.

Weird exhibit, as you can only experience the rooms for 10 minutes, which is not enough. So not great as a gallery, but the view and rooftop restaurant is fantastic, so ot makes up for not fully being emersed in art.
Magriet J — Google review
Transforming a storage warehouse and conservation facility into an architectural masterpiece and cultural destination is pure genius. To top it off, the rooftop garden terrace offers breathtaking 360-degree views of Rotterdam, complete with a stylish café that invites you to linger. With its visually striking and utterly unique design, the building sparks curiosity—even if you’re not an architect or art enthusiast. While the entry fee isn’t cheap, it’s well worth the experience. Every detail, down to the beautifully transparent lockers, has been thoughtfully designed. Surprisingly, the art itself almost feels secondary—though the collection includes stunning works by Picasso, Munch, Cézanne, Rembrandt, Bruegel, Gauguin, Monet, and numerous modern sculptures and contemporary pieces. The display method is equally impressive, borrowing inspiration from São Paulo’s MASP, with paintings elegantly suspended on crystal easels. This is an absolute must-visit in Rotterdam.

The Maritime Museum in Rotterdam offers a fascinating glimpse into the city's maritime heritage. Visitors can explore vintage ships, historic port models, and interactive exhibits for kids. The museum showcases paintings of famous sea battles, collections of ships, and informative videos about naval history. It also features recreated boat interiors from different time periods, including karaoke rooms, casinos, and vintage bars. In addition to its permanent collections on shipbuilding and sea legends, the museum hosts temporary exhibits on various maritime topics.
Fantastic spot for families in Rotterdam! This isn’t your typical museum, it’s an interactive experience full of hands-on fun. The offshore platform is packed with engaging exhibits for both kids and adults, and the maritime history displays are really well done. Outside, you can even explore real historic ships. There’s also a cozy café and a gift shop with great souvenirs. Perfect mix of fun and learning – definitely worth more than a quick visit!

The museum is the oldest of its kind in the Netherlands and one of the most important maritime museums in Europe. Founded in 1874 on the initiative of Admiral Lodewijk Pincoffs, it explores navigation, shipbuilding, trade, port history, and life at sea. The museum is especially family-friendly, with many interactive exhibitions. Outside, the harbour in Leuvehaven lets visitors step aboard historic vessels, cranes, and even a lighthouse, bringing Rotterdam’s seafaring past vividly to life.

Nice place for both parents & kids. Museum is interesting for adult, at the same time PLONS zone is very attractive to my kids. They spent several hours there while parents could have a cup of coffee in this place. Besides, they can enjoy small boat riding just in front of the museum.

It was ok. I feel like more old ships history and art can be placed there. The most fun part fpr me was the games but there was too many kids there and other people so it was impossible to play more than 2 games.

Great for kids 6 yr plus according to me, so they read and understand what they are seeing, connectivity is great near tram station. Outside boats dont need tickets. Pl book kids section in advance as its crowd controlled which is good ( never overcrowded) we spent 3-4 hours including a kids boat ride outside, where they give 3 euro discount if you have just been to the museum. Off shore experience is great, with interactive videos n games and pick a lanyard. Kids section RFID bands are kept free inside. Feel free to pick one and play the games, videos. There are snacks up on the top deck.

Very nice museum, covers both the nautical history and the operations of the port. Watching a blacksmith at work is very impressive, and you might even end up with a souvenir!

Kunsthal Rotterdam is a striking steel and glass museum that hosts temporary art, design, and photography exhibitions. The museum is located in Museumpark alongside other world-class exhibition spaces like Het Nieuwe Instituut and Sonneveld House. The futuristic Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, designed to store over 150,000 works from the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen next door, is also a part of this vibrant cultural hub.
It's a not big museum but I loved the layout of it. The place itself if very nice. I'm th kind of person who enjoys museum architecture, and this is one worth visiting. Regarding the exhibitions, its really depending on what's in the calendar. The art pieces i saw that days are not my kind, but still I enjoyed after walking around, I decided to have lunch on the terrace. Was very nice. I order some Thai fish cakes, and they were amazing. if you have 30-60 min free, you are on the area and have a museum kaart, then yes, make the stop and visit the Kunsthal

The museum is a leading cultural venue that hosts a wide range of temporary exhibitions spanning art, design, and popular culture. Unlike traditional museums, it has no permanent collection, making each visit a new experience. Designed by Rem Koolhaas and opened in 1992 as part of the Museumpark cultural district, the building features a striking ramp design that guides visitors smoothly through its galleries.

I wanted to see the cute exhibition. Some exhibits brought back childhood memories. It was nice. children there looked like they were also enjoying it. Sad that 1 of the exhibition was not available. I still enjoyed the museum.

Beautiful exhibits and reasonable price. I particularly enjoyed Iris van Herpen's work/the sculpting the senses exhibit. There was a long queue to get in but it moved fast. There is a coat and bag check in with free lockers and coathooks, but it can become a crowded chokepoint. I was able to get a locker with the help of the friendly staff that fit a large backpack and my jacket. I bought tickets at the door but I think it would be slightly faster to do it online.

The museum offers an interactive experience where guests can play on over 120 machines spanning different eras.
A little piece of pinball heaven on earth <3 worth every penny. They also have cafeteria inside. But remember! No drinks allowed upstairs which is perfectly reasonable because they keep those pinball in top notch condition. No one wants to spill anything on those beauties. The Staff is extremely friendly and always available for quick chat and They will help You with everything. They have some rarities like WCS94 rethemed to Kill Bill, 60th anniversary James Bond, music pinballs like Iron Maiden, GnR, Metallica and some really cool and unique stuff. They also have themed floors and a lot of looks like movie accessories. If I could i would move there. 11/10

Wouldn't class myself a pinball fan but this place was amazing - over 100 playable pinball machines from all through the years, and plenty of artefacts on display to look at. Booked for the full-day (5 hours) and the time flew by there. There's also a mini-cafe on the ground floor to take a break in. Highly recommend visiting here if you're ever in Rotterdam

Fantastic collection ofachines, went on a Saturday and hour after opening and stayed until.osong with a day ticket for 30 euros. About 7 hours of playing all the classics like Attack from Mars, The Twilight Zone, to 2025 releases like Godzilla and Alice in Wonderland. Has pinball machines on display from the 1920's and a French 1890's pin game. Licensed and selling coffee and beer in the centre of the city.

When someone travels from Kansas in the US to Rotterdam solely to visit a place. You know that place is special. And that is critically understating the amazing place that is the Dutch Pinball Museum. As a collector, I loved visiting a place that I can learn about the history of pinball and play some exceedingly rare games. Everything was very well curated and maintained. Thanks to Gerard for being the best host!

I don’t have pictures of my visit but for a good reason! This place was a big surprise for someone that used to live in Delfshaven. What I great plan to go with friends or your special someone. From the main door you might think is a small place but this is a mini world for all pinball fans or just in general people feeling nostalgic about pinball machines. The venue counts with a museum, cafe and at least three floors of fun pinball machines from all times. The venue distributed the machines into different themes, such as movies, music and series. They even show how the pinball works, while you can try yourself each part of it. For enjoying it, you need at least 2 hours. Then you can play in different pinball machines. Decoration is amazing. A lot of love put in this place. And last but not least, very welcoming staff! I will love to be back very soon. We had a great time.

Nestled to the east of Rotterdam's city center, Arboretum Trompenburg is a serene botanical garden spanning almost 8 hectares. Visitors can immerse themselves in a world of vibrant flowers, shady trees, and fragrant medicinal plants. The meticulously curated gardens showcase an impressive collection of trees, shrubs, perennial plants, and bulbs. Greenhouses offer further exploration into rare plant species from around the globe.
A beautiful garden to visit. We went there in the Spring and there were so many trees and plants in bloom. Very peaceful, beautifully set out and cared for, with a huge variety of trees, and plants from around the world, including a cactus greenhouse. The garden also houses a shop/cafe at the entrance and a restaurant at the opposite end of the gardens where you can enjoy lunch. Well worth a visit!
Bernadette F — Google review
Arboretum Trompenburg is a beautiful garden and flower museum that I really enjoyed visiting. The entrance is free, and you can go in through the little flower shop near the front. I spent a couple of peaceful hours walking around, enjoying the variety of trees, flowers, and birds. There are small bridges over canals that add a lot of charm to the place and make the views even more special. There’s also free parking available, which makes visiting even more convenient. In one part of the garden, there’s a large bird enclosure with finches, Chinese doves, quails, and a few other small birds. It’s lovely to see them, although if you care about animals being free, it might feel a bit sad to see them inside a cage. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys nature and peaceful walks.

Really cute experience with a variety of flowers. We enjoyed just walking around and experiencing the atmosphere. A cat even greeted us, which made our day. It's kinda unnecessary that they have a bird cage, though. The man that sold us the tickets was really cute. Super passionate and kind.

Besutiful and well maintained botanical garden. Highlights: Cactus green houses with countless magical and listeriosis succulents; Surprising bird aviaries with zebra finches and quails; HUGH poplars; Food garden; Lawn like duckweed on the channels. Don’t miss the museum’s shop.

What a wonderful cute place! From the entrance with a friendly staff up until the restaurant that was so cozy and child friendly! I simply loved it! This is definitely a place I want to come back. Its a hidden gem in Rotterdam. Everything is neat and well preserved. God bless you guys!

A peaceful garden to breathe cleaner air in between the jam of city. Some part of the park is quite old, whereas the rest is replanted after being destructed during WW2. A map is given at the entrance so that you can orient yourself. Mini hint: The arboretum is smaller than you think when you have a look at the map. A brilliant escape point for everyone.
Uğur I — Google review
The flowers were so beautiful when I visited this summer. The garden was peaceful and well-maintained. I want to go back in another season to see how it looks.
Nim H — Google review
Nice and beautiful garden with vast collection of domestic and international plants. Disclaimer: I visited in late June 2025, 10 am to 5 pm. I can spend hours here. It has WC and decent small restaurant to quench your thirst after a long nice walk among the bushes and under the fir or through the weeping willow surrounding the ponds. Remember to ask for an access card to enter a separate secluded garden accross the back entrance. Here you will be spoiled by the enormous variety of edible plants, from roots to petals and fruits. But, you are not allowed to pick them ya. When you finish, please stop by the gift shop. Here you can purchase few things that you have seen in the garden; gardening equipments and alike. If you happen to live in the area of Rotterdam, you can join the social worker group maintaining the garden. The schedule is usually on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays through all seasons. Please like my review if you find it helpful. Thank you.

The Witte Huis, also known as the White House, is a historic 10-story art nouveau building located in the heart of Rotterdam. Constructed in 1898, it holds the distinction of being the first high-rise building in Europe. Designed by architect Willem Molenbroek, this iconic structure stands at 141 feet tall and was inspired by skyscrapers in New York.
Rotterdam's very own White House, the first skyscraper in the city. While obviously dwarfed by the recent true skyscrapers this building, in art deco style, remains imposing and grand. A landmark in this magnificent city

We arrived late with our nervous dog and were welcomed so warmly at Het Witte Huis, even though the kitchen had pretty much closed. The staff went out of their way to make us a smashed burger, sardine spaghetti, and bitterballen – all of which were absolutely delicious. The burger in particular was one of the best I’ve ever eaten, clearly made with care. We tucked ourselves into a cosy corner with beers while our dog relaxed and fell asleep, and the staff never rushed us, even though we were the last ones in. We’ve rarely felt so genuinely welcomed in a bar, and the kindness of the team made the evening unforgettable. Thank you for such a lovely experience – we can’t wait to come back on our next visit to Rotterdam!

Amazing building in the old harbour area. It looks most impressive in the summer when surrounded by green trees the white facade shines bright like a diamond. While visiting the cube houses (what everybody does) it would be a shame not to make those few steps and see this end of the XIXth century building.

A museum with its own charm. If you like or are interested in animals, this a place you should visit. 60-90 minutes is enough to visit the entire museum . Is museum Kaart friendly. You will find a small shop, lockers, toilets and the front desk. Very nice ladies working there. This was my first visit and absolutely enjoyed every corner. Its a vintage vibe museum. It's like going to a museum decades ago, and that makes it super cute. I love elephants and mammoths, and it was so interesting to find both specimens on exhibition, with detailed information. Ramon the elephant was the best. There is an area for kids to do some activities, and also a hall with very fun info. The Rotterdam park exhibition was one I truly enjoyed. So much interesting data regarding the city, the animals, nature, ecosystem, etc . I liked all the resources used to explain every part. Thumbs up!!!!

A cute museum to spend the day where you can find bunch of unfortunate death animal stories with their cadavers, later on various animal species and respective information can be found. A throwback to millions of years ago as well as the interaction between the city and bio diversity has been touched upon. It is crazy to be able to see fossils dating back to some millions years ago right infront of you. Placing an informative table with respective fossils regarding male reproduction organ right in the wall of male restroom is the part where I’m completely fallen into. That made my day. The interior design vision is 11 out of 10. We need more of that in our world.

I really liked how this museum focussed on the impact of humanity and urbanisation on the flora and fauna. The only thing I was missing was the lack of information about the animals themselfs, like the country/continent they come from. The museum is interesting for both adults and kids.

Luchtsingel is a wooden bridge spanning almost 390 meters, connecting the northern part of Rotterdam with the city center and Central Station. This initiative by young creatives aims to revitalize the area and make it a city highlight once again. The bridge offers a unique way to explore the city from an elevated perspective and is adorned with captivating street art. Its vibrant yellow color and symmetrical design make it a must-see attraction for those seeking Instagram-worthy spots in Rotterdam.

I hope that after the renovation the bridge will be more alive and less abandoned. I still love the place and I find it very good spot for photo sessions. It’s a little bit shabby but I was never upset with my photos made there. It’s totally not a touristic place and not a poster child from urban design magazines, but it has its charm

The Luchtsingel is a 390 meter long wooden bridge, which is partly financied by crowdfunding: People could (and still can) buy a plank and have a text of their choice on that plank. I’ve got two planks: “De Mannen van Jam” (me and my husbands make jams/marmelades) and “Rob + ik = 25 jaar Rotterdam” (a present from a friend of mine celebrating 25 years of friendship in Rotterdam). For building the bridge they made a passage in the Schieblock building. On the outer sides of the bridge there are quotes from a poem by former city’s poet Ramsey Nasr. 📷 Urban Sketching location.

Don't be fooled by architecture magazines and blogs who have copied the press releases about this but have never actually visit the site. Erasmusbrug, also known as "The Swan," is a modern suspension bridge in Rotterdam designed by Ben van Berkel and opened in 1996. It spans the Nieuwe Maas River, connecting the northern and southern parts of the city. The bridge has become an iconic symbol of Rotterdam's skyline and has been featured in various events such as the start of the Tour de France and Red Bull Air races.
Iconic, Mesmerising place as Crown of Rotterdam, a must visit and take harbour boat tour or visit to Kinderdijk. After living several years in Rotterdam one of my favourite place to appreciate the beauty and clean waterline view of city.

A core viewing item for tourists is the Erasmusbrug with its sleek lines and modern design. Instantly recognizable. I especially wanted to walk here as i suspected it was near our cruise ship terminal and I wanted to know how to get here if we had any trouble with our shuttle transfers. We walked half way out for great views down the river/channel. Additional photos were from our cruise ship sail away the next day, from the other side of the channel/river

Super cool to see up close in person. However if you are short on time - it’s just as spectacular viewing from afar. Walking across this bridge doesn’t compare to walking across the Brooklyn Bridge (which is not to be missed in NYC). There wasn’t much to see or do around the Erasmus bridge.

My buddy told me about this cool landmark, I took a train from Amsterdam to get there. It was late when I arrived. I didn’t get to view inside the architecture, even though the surface was yellow, you could still clearly see that it was being built for decades. If you’re in the area, you should totally drop by. I solely walked around these innovative houses, had a meal and headed back.

The Cube Houses are truly one of the most unique architectural sights I’ve ever visited. I had a couple of hours layover in Rotterdam so went to check out the cube houses. They are truly uniquebabd it was interesting to see how the architect has integrated storage. Population density in the Netherlands is a constant discussion but once you visit this you realize why they never made any more. Beautiful from the outside, interesting conceptually but definitely ultimate a case of form over function.

In the heart of Rotterdam at Eendrachtsplein stands the iconic artwork "Santa Claus" by Paul McCarthy. Originally intended to depict Santa holding a Christmas tree, the statue has garnered attention for its controversial interpretation as a leprechaun with a butt plug. This 2001 sculpture has become a unique and humorous landmark in the city, drawing both amusement and debate from locals and visitors alike.
Don’t know what he’s holding, but totally not a Xmas tree 😝 it was fun and everyone seems to agree what it looks like.
Leti L — Google review
If you're thinking what I'm thinking he's holding, we'll get along just fine.
Kit T — Google review
Created in 2001 by artist Paul McCarthy, this six-meter bronze sculpture depicts Santa Claus holding an object often interpreted as a Christmas tree. Its playful yet provocative design sparked debate when first introduced, with discussions over where it should be placed in the city. Today it has become one of Rotterdam’s most recognizable and talked-about pieces of public art, embodying the city’s bold and unconventional cultural spirit.
Seokjin H — Google review
He was much bigger than I expected. Happy got to take a picture with the statue.
Naomi H — Google review
What a sculpture, just don't Google what he's holding 😂 Nice spot and you can get a great coffee from the coffee company here, sit outside by the sculpture and watch the world go by.

No matter how you look at it this is an absolutely fascinating work of art and frankly only a modern liberal city dares to display it for public at one of the busiest place in the city. Please go and see it when you are (or live in) Rotterdam. It will give you the opportunity to explore and enjoy the surrounding areas for numerous restaurants, bars and cafés.These photos were taken on King's Day 2022 and on April 28, 2022

Interesting piece of artwork but can see why it's been moved location several times! Worth the walk to see it though.

"Santa Claus" or as the locals call it Kabouter Buttplug. It could really use a new lick of paint. I don't think it is particularly beautiful, however, it is rather hilarious. During the Christmas season the street here is decorated with buttplug lights. Some people are not happy about it. I think it is rather funny. A must see for tourists this here statue. Good for a family photo. Kodakmomentje.

The striking glass-and-metal building hosts temporary displays on architecture and interior design in seven exhibition spaces, offering a comprehensive look at the history and development of architecture, particularly focusing on urban design and spatial planning in Rotterdam.
Splendid research center and museum/exhibition space. We visited over the weekend and found the exhibition educational, information, and well curated.

Interesting space, but it is all about what exhibition is on at the moment. Located in the museum park, so you can combine it with other visits nearby! Museum card is accepted, kids go free

Aesthetically successful. There is a library, an archive center, drawings and models, a cafeteria. With the entrance ticket, the Sonneveld house, located on the other side of the street, is definitely worth a look.
Tchi T — Google review
I’m not sure if it was intentional, but as an Asian visitor, I couldn’t help feeling discriminated against at your museum café, or maybe just impolite. I sat there for over 15 minutes—staff made eye contact with me several times but never offered a menu or asked if I wanted to order. Meanwhile, I saw staff walking around serving other guests and handing them menus directly—completely ignoring me. I even moved to a central seat, but nothing changed. When I finally came to the counter to ask how to order, they just told me to wait at the table. The café wasn’t busy at all (see attached photo), so I really don’t understand why I was treated this way. It made me feel very unwelcome.
Scoups S — Google review
Really interesting and enriching exhibition. One really impressive fact is that they change their galleries whole time, so you can visit museum over again and see and learn new facts. When I have been there, they had opened three galleries. One related to AI, second to the Netherlands demography and it’s plan to make a sustainable living in the country threatened by sea level rising. The last one (with the uprising way to it covered by masterpieces about current and past century crisis) was composed by a lot of small exhibitions. In the last floor is a library with computers and in the first one is also a coffee with pastries and store with books about architecture etc. Amazing place!

“Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam is an impressive example of contemporary architecture, featuring a striking combination of glass and metal. There’s a beautiful pond in front of the building, which adds to the serene atmosphere. Additionally, there is an artwork near the pond that isn’t yet listed on Google Maps and should be added. The surrounding area is also lovely, with well-maintained public spaces that enhance the overall experience
M E — Google review
Tones of different themes, the ones we've visited were mostly about political themes in the first floor, the second floor's theme was energy and solar panels, everything was interestingly put together very well, I l liked the atmosphere but it would take hours to actually read everything and understand them all deeply, would suggest you plan things taking this into consideration. I will visit it again, especially the third floor :)
Süheyla K — Google review
Great visit with an interesting variety and out of the ordinary expositions. Including one about the modern house and the dark side of Disney which was my favorite. The main theme on some of them is a bit ironic, I guess it complements quite well the modern art in it. Museum card accepted. It could take you 1-3hs to explore depending on your interest. Really recommended!

Plaswijckpark is a delightful family park located just an 8-minute drive from Rotterdam's city center. It offers a range of attractions including an adventure playground, boat and train trips, as well as a zoo featuring monkeys and wallabies. The park also boasts a theater, gentle mechanical games in the playground, and nature paths for hiking. Families can enjoy a meal at the on-site restaurant which offers a variety of dishes catering to both adults and children.
Fantastic picnic park. A lot of thing to do to keep your kids busy. Adults can have cool time off, sitting under a tree with books, take a walk between animals, water park to play with your kids. Truly a fun day to remember. 10 to 7 is the time. Parking fill quickly. Come prepared. Picnic trolleys are handy. Kids stroller as well. Food restaurants are inside, but bring some along if you don't get a chance to get something quickly or if you are in the middle of the pool. Fries, icecreams, sandwiches and pancakes are available in the restaurants.

Amazing place with lots of things to do. Animals, water, playgrounds, train.. my kid enjoyed it to the fullest.

Lovely park with lots of fun! The indoor park is not nice at all so it's not suitable for rainy days. Also not suitable for smaller kids. The park has pools, little farm, food (on the expensive side), and several activities. My kids love it. The pictures are from the winter skating. Quite nice though rather dangerous due to the low maintenance.

We went for the younger kids Halloween our 5 and 6 year olds where bored. We where sad to see half the park wasn't decorated. However we had a good time

Absolutely amazing place. We have been twice already and you can definitely spend an entire day here. It caters to the needs of kids of all ages. I went with my 6 and 2 year old. And there was plenty to do for both. Small playgrounds, big playgrounds, Indio playgrounds (especially when it gets rainy), a little farm, train ride, rides for big kids, merry go round, boat rides, paddle boating etc etc. there is a nice cafeteria as well as little icecream corners. There are benches so you can bring your own picnic. And there are quite a few restrooms for kids and adults. Highly recommend this place!

I would recommend this park for any family with children between the age of 1 to 14 years. I believe they can do a lot here and they can develop their children from many aspects in this park. I wish this park all the best, and I have it always keep it as good organized as we have always seen it before.

The Van Nelle Factory BV is a modernist 1930s factory in Rotterdam that has been transformed into an arts hub, housing creative companies and serving as an event venue. During Rotterdam Art Week, the city comes alive with major art and design fairs like Art Rotterdam and Object Rotterdam, attracting numerous art enthusiasts. The factory, originally a tobacco factory, is considered a pinnacle of Dutch industrial heritage and was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2014.
I highly recommend taking the guided tour. It was an amazing experience. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage building. Our guide was a student in architecture and he enjoyed sharing all his knowledge about the factory and more. He shared with us info on architectural details used in the building which I thought was inspiring and mind blowing considering it was built in the 1920s. Before booking the guided tour, I didn’t expect to learn so much about this historical and important building and the brand and story behind it. The photos won’t mean anything until the tour is taken or unless there is already some knowledge on the Van Nelle Factory.

Beautiful old coffee, tea and tobacco factory from 1931 Architectural masterpiece with ingenious environmentally friendly solutions. Choose a guided tour including the equally beautiful Chabot museum. Which is located in the centre of the city. And offers a film about the Van Nelle.By bike or car ( free parking at van Nelle). Also a nice location for parties and events. Unesco World Heritage.

Fascinating modernist building with great story behind it! Lots of original fixtures and fittings.

Fantastic building in the context of 1920-1930 when designed and built. Recommended to take the guided architecture tour by the Chabot Museum during weekends. In one hour you are taken into the factory and explained many interesting details of the design, technology and use of the building. Now a hub for rental office spaces of a wide variety of companies. Its UNESCO status means that building is maintained as close as possible to its original design.

I visited Van Nelle factory on a tour. The building is a UNESCO heritage site, famous for its beautiful modern architecture. It is a bit obscure and off the beaten track as a tourist destination but definitely worth a visit if you are an achitecture/art fan. There is a nice view from the top floor on the surroundings, with Rotterdam skyscrapers in the distance. To my knowledge, it is open for tours only on week ends. English language tour was excellent, highly informative and brought the building to life. It should be booked in advance online. The factory is accessible from Rotterdam central by taxi ride (probably there is also a public transportation option but i am not sure).

Amazing building and a key visit in Rotterdam if you’re into modern architecture. You can park your car within the perimeter, enjoy the building from all angles and then go for the cafeteria where there is a small exhibit.

Lovely experiences. I highly recommend the Art Fairs in The Netherlands. Van Nelle Factory is a great place for events and conferences. PS: Before ending your visit, grab a homemade cider made right at Van Nelle Factory
Andrei F — Google review
To begin with, it doesn't feel too fascinating, when you're associating it with UNESCO! However when you understand that this was built in 1925-31, in the beginning of industrial revolution, when all other buildings were built of bricks and primarily opaque - this, primarily made of glass & steel and primarily transparent - is an absolute shocker! This paved way for, set an inspiration for all the sky-scraper office buildings that you see today that are just glass & steel!

Museum Rotterdam is a comprehensive institution dedicated to the history of the city. Its collection spans 10,000 years, showcasing artifacts from prehistoric times to the present day. The museum explores themes such as work, immigration, and religion, connecting the past with contemporary life in Rotterdam. Visitors can view a wide range of objects including skull fragments from early settlers, timbers from the first dam across River Rotte, and modern fashion designs by local talents.
Apparently the only bit of Rotterdam Museum at the moment, but as a student of WW2 in the Netherlands I was very happy A fine selection of items showed WW2 in Rotterdam from Mein Kampf to Liberation. There are interpretation boards in Dutch giving more detail. A separate room showed decisions after WW2 on saving or tearing down key buildings. Special mention to the 2 chaps staffing today who were charming, helpful and spoke perfect English 👍😊

Lovely museum to learn about WW2 in Netherlands. Small but worth the visit with an extensive collection of items to see. Hopefully they regain a new locale to cover Rotterdam history as well. Staff is super friendly and welcoming.

Small but packed full of interesting stories and artefacts from WW2. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Well worth visiting!
Oli L — Google review
Great museum! €5 student discount. Although all the written text is in Dutch, at the ticket office they provide you: - a newspaper which is the translation of all the historical dates and facts printed on the walls (that you can keep) - and a laminated sheet with the story of the most important objects displayed The rest of objects, cards and flags I used Google Lens translation, and all together I had no problems understanding what was displayed. For the video they show, it can be any language they set, and as the majority of the people at the time preferred English, that was the audio selected. The stories in the video are connected to the objects on the walls, a beautiful touch that bring them to life. All in all it's a Highly Recommended Museum :-)
Serena N — Google review
As others have said, it’s a small museum but immaculately kept and absolutely packed with items from the occupation, including many pieces that survived the devastating bombing of 1940. Some of the artifacts are truly devastating statements on the evil of war, including a small pair of gloves belonging to a child victim of the Holocaust and a wedding dress that was somehow saved from the flames after the May 1940 attack. A tin of biscuits reduced to pure carbon and warped glassware speaks to the heat of the fires that raged after the bombing. The staff are extremely kind and accommodating; they even checked that I didn’t speak Dutch and made sure to replay the film (the English version this time) just for me. Absolutely worth the trip, don’t miss it if you go to Rotterdam!
O. M — Google review
What a fascinating museum describing Rotterdam's history during WWII. It is very well organised and the various displays are fascinating to see and learn from. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended when you are (or live in) Rotterdam. The last 8 photos were from Museum Rotterdam at Timmerhuis which regrettably is closed permanently
Dr S — Google review
Small museum. If you are looking for details and historic footage, your expectations will not be met. I'll explain myself: you have general info (written only in Dutch) on how the war started and some info on the Rotterdam bombings which give you a general idea. The motion picture shown is more about individuals and their specific situation than the facts as such. Nevertheless if you're more into memorabilia which are the core of this museum, this is perhaps the place to stop by. As a plus you're handed over a tablet of which the content is user-friendly built (see photo with yellow banner). After having keyed in some coordinates of the artefact, it will tell you what it is about. At the very end of your walk, there are some pictures projected foreseen of voice. To me very interesting, there facts are told.

THE MOST RACIST FESTIVAL IN THE WHOLE NETHERLANDS !!!!! Day 2, table 2, a (big) woman didn’t do my accreditation because I HAVE NOT A UE PASSPORT, while She knew I WAS NOT working, I was friend of the food stand owners, and joining my volunteer friends that were collaborating. She started asking for my resident card, and after treat me very bad and didn’t try to help, She got what she wanted, push me out after make me feel very very bad. Discrimination is actionable, if North Sea Jazz does not want problems of this type, DO NOT HIRE THIS PERSON AGAIN. First year in 3 years it happened, first festival in 10 festivals that happens. If someone can give me her name and last name, I’ll be very grateful.

Jazz is about feelings, energy and drama. Alicia Keys carried us with her voice and her presence on a journey along a mixture of emotions and showed us pure Love. Talking all that Jazz, Stetsasonic told us; Leo Blokhuis took us on a journey along ugly and beautiful history and connected us with current music. Thank you both for the wonderful experienced Love and clear insights.
Marc B — Google review
It's a shame that it seems to be more and more about maximizing revenue for the organizers. I've been going to the North Sea Jazz Festival intermittently for almost a decade. It has always been expensive. That was fine, as the music was always excellent and the atmosphere was right. But this year I don't agree with the organizers' methods anymore. There were too many visitors! I have never experienced that three halls were full at the same time and no entry was allowed. This year, long queues formed at three halls at the same time. There were so many visitors that I wondered in between where all these people should find space in the concert halls at the same time. In addition, it was very hot. To be exact, over 30 degrees Celsius on Saturday. In the concert halls, which were not air-conditioned, it was unbearable. I really felt sorry for the artists on stage at some point because it was so hot. But outrageous were the newly introduced deposit tokens. Each visitor received one of these plastic tokens for free upon entry. When buying a drink, one had to hand in a token in addition to the purchase price in order to receive a drink. Without a plastic token, the drinks were one euro more expensive. An empty cup or bottle could be exchanged back for a token. The plastic tokens themselves were worthless! The price of 3 euros for a small bottle of water with deposit token and 4 euros without a token I find amidst that it was more than 30 degrees already quite brazen. If one could have paid at least with the tokens also, thus for example one would have gotten a water for three plastic tokens, it would have been alright. But this way it is quite an impertinence. I liked many of the concerts I saw, and I think the location is very nice. But the everything else leaves a lot to be desired. I am very sorry, but I do not agree with this development and will consider whether I will go there again next year.
Me M — Google review
This year was my first visit to NSJ, after 30 years of visiting (jazz) festivals all over the world. The music of course is top notch, but the venue itself has as much atmosphere of a packed shopping mall. Disappointingly, I was unable to see most the acts I had planned, because the halls were full. The ones that I attend see were only because I got in 45 minutes before the start time to wait around in the dark. Or stand in line for 30 minutes and catch the end of a set.
Patrick R — Google review
The music is very good, not just the acts but also the mix and sound. It is very pricey tho. Once a year still a must for me.
Smoking R — Google review
Absolute disgrace, once you leave a venue you will have to wait in huge lines in order to go back. Of course nobody will tell you this until you try to go back. Shame on this production and the way they do things. They will gladly take your money but once they do they will treat you like a random guy from the street.

It's a great place for kids to spend time. Parents can eat and drink in the cafe while the kids play. The only downside is that it's a bit dirty.
Arzu E — Google review
Visited Villa Zebra early on a rainy Sunday, the location/building is impressive and effort has been put in to create a unique, creative and engaging space for younger kids. They also offer a simple cafe for drinks and snacks with a number of tables to sit close by a few of the activity rooms. The activities are best suited to kids 3 years and up. On our visit which was the first slot of the day we found things quite messy. Many of the activity rooms had items missing or out of place. The bathrooms and handwash stations were all quite dirty. Tickets are also required for all visiting adults meaning a visit for a family can be quite expensive compared to equivalent activities. Lastly parking is limited so expect a short walk.
Maarten P — Google review
Its not worth the money. Basically it’s an indoor playground. It’s unorganized and a little filthy. There is one thing I disliked the most. They are open until 5 o’clock. But they start to clean up everything and sweep the floors at 4:15. At 4:30 they closed the doctor room. And at 1630 they asked if we know that they close at 5?!! How rude! Why are they open until 5 but they start closing at 4:15? In my opinion they so clean up and sweep the floor after 5 o’clock. It just made us feel very uncomfortable.

St. Lawrence Church, also known as Sint-Laurenskerk, is a restored Gothic church in Rotterdam that stands as one of the few remaining medieval buildings in the city. Built between 1449 and 1525, it was heavily damaged during World War II but has since been meticulously restored. The church offers exhibits detailing its rich history and provides guided tours to climb its impressive tower from April to October.
Lovely place we visited for the first-time for a wine festival event. Place had lots of space for sitting, easy access and clean bathrooms. Definitely nice for medium size events at central location!

A beautiful Gothic church that had once been the victim of WW2, having only left with it’s tower standing. The rest had to be built from scratch. Three iron stakes have been kept as a memory from the ruins and now being shown in shape of a cross, brilliant mind. Besides all, I have one, which I believe to be major, note for the visitors. There are actually audio tour books (photo added) that you can borrow from reception. In my case, the lady at reception probably was just helping out her friends because when I asked about a audio tour, she said there ain’t any. After using my hilarious inspector skills, I found a booklet showing how to use the audio tour book and proved her that there must be. A minute later, I saw those black audio tour books standing on inner shelf of reception and got what I was looking for. You simply follow the tag numbers on wall and find the matching session in book. Alternatively you can listen to it, which I couldn’t beacuse you need a cable to connect audio tour with your headphone, so if you want to go for that option, you better bring your cable with you.

Despite not being Christian and not being particularly interested in churches at all, I liked walking through this church and thinking about time passing. Everything in here will make you feel small in a satisfying way: the red candles rising almost to the ceiling, the wide-openness of the room, the book you can flip through and see what the visitors before you had to say.
Zoe C — Google review
Beautiful architecture. It was restored after the world war 2 bombing. But originally it was built in the 1400. Remarkable what they can build in that era. Our Church rented this venue for a Special Sunday service on 12 of October 2025. The atmosphere was wonderful. We pray that many people will come back to God in this Church building.
Adrian S — Google review
Quite big and interesting to visit, since it’s protestant — very different to what we, at least me and my partner (with whom I visited), are used to. I would say the tickets are a bit overpriced for what you can actually see, but I’d say it’s worth it overall
Daniela P — Google review
The church is Rotterdam’s only surviving medieval stone church and a remarkable symbol of the city’s heritage. Built in the Brabantine Gothic style between 1449 and 1525, it is dedicated to Saint Lawrence. Inside, visitors can admire the impressive grand pipe organ, one of its highlights.

Back in 1933 it must have been so radical (and still is) bedrooms kind of small and what a drawer-shelf on its own near the door and nothing next to the bed, has to do with functionalism I can't figure out. Bathrooms big, double sinks and we think that's a modern thing. It was like walking into a different time.

A nice tour of a house of a wealthy family living in Rotterdam in the 1930s. The house was built in the so-called Nieuwe Bouwen architecture style that was prevalent at the time. It had a somewhat functional and simplistic design, with a lot of modern amenities such as a bathroom shower heads, intercom, security systems, internal lifts and heated towel stands.
Varun N — Google review
great experience! audio guide was really interesting and it contains lots of extra information 😊
Nikola F — Google review
Fascinating house, restored with original and reproduction furniture. Architecturally interesting to see how the modernist principles of space, light and air are applied to a very upmarket family dwelling. Unusually it is possible to sit on some of the non-original furniture which gives an entirely different view of the spaces compared to just walking around. The guides are all very well informed and keeeen to add their insight to your visit.

Beautiful museum of villa build around 1930. The audio guide is really good and explains each room very well, they accept museumcard. The different rooms have for the 1930s a modern interieur but most importantly it is also functional. Also interesting is the fact that one of the rooms has a modern shower with many exits for the water which was extremely new for that time.

The Chabot Museum, located in a sleek and elegant 1936 modernist villa, is a tribute to the renowned Dutch painter and sculptor Hendrik Chabot. The museum houses an extensive collection of expressionist art, including works depicting Dutch landscapes, farmers, and refugees during the war years. Additionally, visitors can explore pieces from the Schortemeijer collection dating back to the 1920s and exclusive artworks from Mrs. Toll-Breugem's private collection.
A well-designed house that was turned into a museum. Every chair here feels special and comfortable, and it would be worthwhile to enjoy some small details of the house itself. The museum staff here are super friendly and helpful, would really recommend to drop by.
Bo C — Google review
small and special museum. Mostly sculptures. Very much of it's own flavor. One needs 1-1.5 hour. You can have a coffee downstairs. Visit, if you have time
Al G — Google review
Small and cozy museum for art lovers. However, not a lot to see and explore.
Nirupam B — Google review
Nice and interesting museum for a quick visit. Compact collection and not crowded at all. It has a bit of history about the house itself, the “Van Nelle factory” history and some art expositions. The whole museum is divided in 4 levels, with a bit on each. There’s an elevator, a small coffee place and toilet. Museum card is included. You can conveniently purchase the tickets at the machine outside. Recommend if you want to kill some time, or you do enjoy art. There’s a combi ticket to the van nelle factory.
Lucas K — Google review
This museum is dedicated to the work of Hank Chabot. His paintings and sculptures are housed in a magnificent villa opposite the Boijmans & Beuningen museum at the Museum Park, Rotterdam. It's absolutely magnificent and a must-visit when you are in Rotterdam. A very charming and kind lady at the reception describes (in English if you prefer) the works of Chabot before you start

I was in the fence about visiting the museum as I had little time left. I’m glad I decided to go. This is a museum worth visiting, although small, they have good selection of art. The building itself is already architecturally beautiful. I would love to have a home like this, full of light coming in through the windows. The staircase though is a little small and narrow. The staff are very nice and helpful.

Very small museum but very nice! There aren't many pieces of arts but the ones that are there are very nice and well displayed. Theres a little coffee place downstairs that cute and where you can draw your own postcard which was super cool. Also the movie downstairs was awesome!!!!

Building with nice architecture. It was built in 1938 for C. H. Kraaijeveld by architects Gerrit Willem Baas and Leonard Stokla. You can see an art exhibition inside, the price of ticket is about 7 euro.

Mooie Boules Rotterdam is a unique and vibrant venue that combines a food hall, bar, and petanque playing area. Situated in the northern part of the city, this establishment offers an array of entertainment options including traditional French boules games, table tennis, air hockey, table football, board games, and even karaoke.
Mooie Boules is a great spot for group gatherings and game nights with its unique concept. The food was tasty, though the kitchen was a bit busy. Overall, a fun and lively place to visit!

A very trendy place! It’s a great concept that combines various activities with delicious food and drinks. You can enjoy a relaxing pétanque game with friends or colleagues while savoring a fantastic selection of beers or grabbing a snack. You can even continue your dinner at the same spot! I really enjoyed it. It can get busy, so make sure to check availability and book in advance.

I went here for a work event and it was really good time. Amazing range of beers and the boules was a great way to spend some quality time. The food was a bit pricey but pretty good, I had the half chicken and salad and it was tasty.
Sean C — Google review
The place definitely has personality and a good vibe. It’s a happy place to have group activities and all. Service was ok. Food was worse than mediocre. We had the rijsttafel, many small dishes. No flavour for some, same flavour for 2-3 of the dishes and the rest was just so disappointingly lackluster in flavour. Even the satay sauce was lacking in Flavour. Go for the vibe, don’t bother with the rijsttafel unless you just need a stomach filler.
Anna M — Google review
Great location, plenty of food choices and very nice selection of beers! The place is also quite kids friendly- our got lot of fun with karaoke, and playing with his friends across the venue. Very quick service even if the location was quite packed. The venue is furnished with vintage items.

It’s good place to hangout, you can have games and food together. This place is also good for team meetup so you can play games and have discussions on table while having food. In menu there is both options for Veg and non veg foods. So I like this place and will visit here again. Good thing is it’s like 10 minutes walk from Rotterdam train station, so you can easily reach there by public transport as well.
Mohit A — Google review
(December) Came to the place sat at a table that had other people but I though it was a comunity table and since no one told me otherwise I thought it was ok. One our and some after being there a girl came to tell me that the table was reserved for the people on the table I then asked were could I sit she shrugged and said I don't know it's all full, with that I left. I understand that between me not understanding the language and the group and the staff there may have been a mutual missunderstanding, but as someone who works in the service industry I think she could have been more professional. Nice experience otherwise.

Really cool exhibitions and affordable to get in. Check it out.
Jack C — Google review
i wouldn't see TENT as a museum because it basically isn't. i strongly recommend visiting TENT if you're open to modern art, not your typical idea of a museum or art galery. TENT is a nice space that honestly brings all kinds of people together. i visit TENT quite often and am always impressed with the work in the exhibitions they have. come visit sometime, it's worth it!
Eren M — Google review
The Tent museum and the Witte Center for Contemporary Arts are the same place. Google shows them separately not sure why. It was 3 euro per person, is quite small can see all the exhibits in about 25 mins or less some of the rooms that could have housed a lot were taped off and were empty. The art in that was being featured was not my taste I prefer more classical forms. You will not find traditional learned arts such as sculptures or oil paintings here. There are better museums in the area I would skip this one.

Start your exploration in the Playground, where you can unleash your inner artist by creating drawings that are showcased on Europe's largest indoor screen.
An exhibition beyond words! A psychedelic experience smoothly merged with art that everybody should taste! I wish I had the opportunity to visit as a daily dose of relaxation and joy. One minor criticism, one wouldn’t expect the lockers to be charged. You can still keep your bag infront of you, but still. And a friendly reminder, don’t panic if you see the doors closed some time before your reservation, the same staff also assists you through the exhibition, thats why they close doors during an exhibition.

I really liked the place. It’s a good experience even for people not into arts. Really enjoyed. Very interactive and fun
Shagufta S — Google review
Just walked out, so: read the reviews before you purchase a ticket, especially online, they charge an extra 5.80 PER TICKET AS A CoNvENiEnCe fee for people!! But wait, there is more: the more guests you are, the more the fee increases per ticket!!!!💀 (was going to rate 3 stars but I am lowering to 2 because I just noticed this as I was taking screenshots to show here) 2 stars because it was different and had some poetic and interesting parts related to Art obviously, but also immersions into a time travel expérience. Less 3 stars because there was some unnecessary content, nightmarish animations and artworks definitely NOT for all public, aka kids or people that have never done psychedelics... and that ridiculous fee You could have a bad trip 3 rooms in... just so you understand... There should be two prices of 12 euros each with one part art history or whatever, and another part 12 euros for à psychédélique experience... 25 for this is unnecessary and you become stuck in the expérience if ever you don't like it and you can't go back to the nicer ones or forward to escape. Definitely should rethink the concept in my opinion, too many reviews mention this for them to ignore it...
V S — Google review
Went in expecting a Van Gogh immersive experience. While I did enjoy the various rooms, some of the imagery contained mature themes (a whole wall depicting what I assumed was hell) and only the last room displayed some of the Dutch masters. It was interactive and fun but not worth €25
Hannah M — Google review
Super ! Great experience in this virtual museum. Nice and beautiful exhibition! Highly recommended.
Alex D — Google review
Quality of the projections felt very dated. Also the rooms felt a bit random, no information. Couldn’t understand why they brought it to life like this. Did not really feel like you were in the paintings. Show at the end was somewhat entertaining and the interactive room had potential but was too busy. Overall did not feel like good value for money.
Dagmar H — Google review
Very much oversold by the adverts. The projections were quite low resolution, and for the space in each room it's definitely overcrowded. Feels less like an immersive experience and more like you're trapped in a series of rooms with 50 people for 15 minutes at a time. On top of that we were blocked into one room for ages and then had only 30 seconds or so to look at another room as we were ushered on for a timed animation in the final room. Was not a nice feeling that on top of the 25€ ticket, the lockers had a fee also...
Peter F — Google review
If I could, I would skip ⅔ od the whole show. I was literally looking at my clock all the time, waiting for it to end. This ⅓ really was beautiful, charming and worth it, but considering this as a whole, it was definitely not worth 25 euro. I understand this is a unique experience, not avaliable in many parts of the world, but still, the price should go with the quality, not with the hype and popularity.

Use the Rotterdam Pas to get a 25% discount at the desk. Great day out for kids and adults. It's best to go on a dry day as the concourse can be slippery. Some climbs are quite high up in the trees. Some are also scary but it's just a challenge... with perseverance it can be done. 😃

I took my 9 year old boy and 10 year old daughter here for my son’s birthday. I climbed with them and honestly had the best time! We climbed for a bit more than 3 hours and had so much fun. My daughter was a bit more scared then my son but she overcame some fears and with the help of one of the instructors improved her capability of tackling the more swinging objects and be less scared. The many zip lines are an added bonus

Decent free mini cable course was open for the smallest newbie climbers. Cables are rough on hands so bring gloves! The rest of the course was shut down (by police?) despite being declared open online (due to crowds and covid?). Staff seemed nice and apologetic. View of the course from the park walking path looked really cool 😎. Otherwise this is a super beautiful park on a sunny day, with lots of free play structures and zip-line for kids. We were incredibly excited for our HotTug experience and traveled all the way from Amsterdam to Rotterdam to celebrate our friend’s birthday. But just 30 minutes before our scheduled time, the owner called to tell us the trip wouldn’t happen as planned and could only take place three hours later. No real apology, no solution, no compensation — just a last-minute cancellation that left us completely stranded. We wasted hours of our day for absolutely nothing. It felt careless and disrespectful, especially given how much effort we put into planning this special day. Truly a huge disappointment.

Mark — Google review
We had a very disappointing experience with Hot Tug Rotterdam. Our group of nine people had planned this activity weeks in advance as part of a birthday trip, traveling all the way from Amsterdam just for this. An hour before our scheduled ride, they suddenly canceled, saying someone had a headache and could only offer a slot two hours later — which would’ve made us miss our flight. No real apology, no compensation, no alternatives. Completely unprofessional. Ruined the ending of our trip.
GODesigner — Google review
We had a confirmed 2 boats reserved and prepaid, traveled to another city, spent time and money — only to be told 30 minutes before that it was canceled. Reason? The owner had a headache or just didn’t feel like it. No warning, no apology, didn't try to find the solution that fits two sides, nothing. Completely unprofessional. Don’t trust this place with your plans.

The Tours - ss Rotterdam offers a unique and fascinating experience for visitors. This former flagship of the Holland-America Line is steeped in history and boasts impressive architecture. Moored at the tip of the Katendrecht peninsula, it provides an opportunity to explore its rich maritime heritage. Accessible by watertaxi, this iconic steamship also serves as a hotel and dining destination, making it a must-visit for those seeking an unforgettable maritime adventure in Rotterdam.
A very lovely tour and amazingly courteous staff. We took the complete tour and we did it at our own pace in around 3.5 hours. The cruise was lovely and it was amazing to be able to explore it fully
Rizwan Z — Google review
Really interesting tour, unfortunately we had to stop our deck tour to go onto our engine room tour, getting back onto the deck route was difficult
Marc W — Google review
Very fun to follow the tour guide around the ship. He explained a lot of the history of the ship, what it was used for and how it was used. For example the different types of people that were on board, what they could and couldn't do. He also gave some insight in why people want to work on a ship for months, without hardly seeing any fresh air during their work. There are also audio tours available so you can go through the ship at your own pace. But a guided tour opened some other locations that were otherwise closed to the public. We had a tour of about 1 hour, but even that didn't cover the whole ship. There is a lot of climbing stairs involved, so not ideal for people in wheelchairs or are not the very mobile.
Nicolas S — Google review
The SS Rotterdam offers a truly unique experience. It's fascinating to explore the ship's history and architecture. Taking a watertaxi to reach the vessel adds to the adventure. As a hotel and food destination, it's truly special. A must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable maritime experience in Rotterdam. Background: The SS Rotterdam, launched in 1958, was one of the most famous ocean liners of the Holland-America Line (HAL). Designed to be a flagship vessel, the SS Rotterdam represented the pinnacle of Dutch maritime engineering and design at the time. Throughout its illustrious career, the SS Rotterdam served as a luxurious mode of transportation for passengers traveling between Europe and North America.

NavigationIsArt — Google review
Spectacular. Nice to see the Dutch care about their maritime history. A fantastic liner to explore and not at huge cost. Well, free if you only want to explore a couple of decks. Extra for the bow, bridge and engine room. The ship herself has a semi art-deco interior; fancy but not over the top, like say, the SS Normandie. Easy to see this was once a grand vessel; part liner, part cruise ship. One can see that the ship had been designed for at least two classes of passenger, as areas are indeed quite separate. The utilitarian and the extravagant areas are definitely apart. One really needs a few days to fully explore this vessel. Wishing she stays in good shape for years to come. The car parking is reasonable.
Stevenson L — Google review
The former cruise ship S.S Rotterdam retired in September 2000 after 40 years of travelling between Holland and Amerika. Since then the cruise is a hotel & event location. There are also guided tours and there is an escape room. We did the all-in guided tour where you get several tours and you can also walk around freely with an audio book which is available in multiple languages. (Tour was in Dutch though) It is really great, the tour goes from the machineroom with all the steam generators to even the captain’s bedroom. Even more great is that the tour is given by former workers! They tell you great stories from themselves! Price is 16,50 for this experience but is definitely worth it!

(Translated by Google) The Rotterdam Street Art Museum may seem interesting at first glance with its colorful murals, but the location spoils the experience. The works of art, which stretch along the facades of houses in a rather seedy area, are hardly visible here. Although one part of the street is reminiscent of the hustle and bustle of Chinatown, the other part appears darker. You often come across people who are visibly drug addicts or dubious, which makes the atmosphere unpleasant. We ultimately decided to turn back. The works of art have no space here to develop their full effect. Overall, the art and street is therefore not recommended for a visit.

But the entire neighborhood is the museum. The app is clear and even provides a spoken explanation of the art you are going to see. Definitely worth it if you visit Rotterdam. Royal Delft is a renowned 17th-century earthenware factory that offers guided tours and houses a museum. It is the hub for creating the iconic blue and white patterns on pottery, which are popular throughout the Netherlands. Visitors can witness potters crafting these patterns by hand or using screen printing techniques. The museum showcases some of the oldest examples of Royal Delft pottery and provides insights into its history and Dutch design tradition.
This is a very nice museum to learn the art and history of blue pottery in Netherlands. This takes you back to time when it started and how it evolved. There are variety of master pieces of tiles, pots, decors and many more. There is small factory as well. You can also see the artists live handpainting and explaining the process. If you want to join a workshop then book your ticket in advance. Very nice small museum filled with rich history.

The Royal Delft museum is a really nice place for a short day-time program if you're visiting Delft. There is an exhibition from the techniques used in the process to modern art pieces. The building has a beautiful garden in the middle, which was unfortunately closed. We spent about an hour in the museum. They also have a sizable gift shop, where you can place orders or buy already-made pieces. They currently sell really beautiful christmas ornaments for 20-25€.

Visited *Royal Delft* as part of a tour group, and it was an incredible experience! The demo showcasing their iconic hand-painted ceramic work was absolutely awesome—mind-boggling to see the skill and precision that goes into each piece. The artistry behind their famous blue-and-white Delftware is truly remarkable. The tour was engaging, and the museum beautifully highlights the history and craftsmanship. A must-visit for anyone near Delft! Highly recommend!
Bala V — Google review
The museum and factory tour really gives you a sense of how much skill and craftsmanship goes into everything they make and gives you a sense for the scale of their history. Well with spending an hour or two doing this and purchasing gifts and souviniers. Dress in layers it's actually not that warm but warm enough that you will not be happy in a sweater!

If you’re into pottery, tableware, or anything to do with fine china, Royal Delft is an absolute must! The museum has such a rich and fascinating history, and it’s the perfect size to explore without feeling like you’re in a marathon. You’ll learn all about how their iconic Delft pottery is made, and it’s honestly so cool to see it all come to life. Before visiting, I bought both the museum ticket and their high tea package in advance on their website — super easy and totally worth it. The bonus? On our way there (we took the tram from Den Haag), we accidentally stumbled upon the actual spot that inspired Vermeer’s “View of Delft.” There’s even a replica of the painting right there so you can compare it to the real view Vermeer saw back in the day. How amazing is that?? Such a serendipidous find that made our Delft experience even better. 💙 By the time we got to the museum, we were—surprise, surprise—already hungry 😂. We showed up way too early for our high tea reservation, but the staff was so kind and told us to come back in 15 minutes while they set up a table for us. Perfect excuse to “tour” the gift shop! And wow, that gift shop is dangerous for anyone with limited luggage space. They have everything — vases, Christmas ornaments, gorgeous tableware, adorable Miffy collections, and all sorts of Delft blue goodies. I wanted to buy everything. But alas, since this was near the end of our trip (and I still had a week in Amsterdam to go), I had to restrain myself. Next time, though? I’m coming back for the tulip vases. Sooooo pretty. And the Miffy figurines. And the Dutch houses. Ugh, the list goes on! Once I finished my ooh-ing and aah-ing, we headed back to the café for high tea, and our table was ready. The staff was so lovely — they explained every sweet and savory treat on our tiered tray, and the tea selection was solid. The food itself? About a 3 out of 5 if we’re grading just on taste. It’s not like a fancy hotel afternoon tea, but it was perfectly nice. Plus, the atmosphere makes up for it — there’s a beautiful garden where you can sit outside, or cozy indoor seating with big windows looking out. We chose inside (it was too chilly for us desert people ❄️). After tea, we did our self-guided tour through the museum and factory area, where you can actually watch artisans painting and crafting pottery by hand. It’s mesmerizing! I had no idea that Delftware originally took major inspiration from Chinese porcelain — especially the classic blue-and-white style. They even show side-by-side examples of early Dutch copies and the original Chinese pieces, and you can really see how the Dutch designs evolved over time into something uniquely their own. All in all, Royal Delft is 100% worth visiting. The museum is fascinating, the staff is warm and welcoming, and the café is a lovely spot to rest your feet (high tea optional, but fun if you have time). Prices were pretty reasonable too — high tea was €63 (about $73 USD) for two people, and museum tickets were €34 (around $40 USD) for two. Highly recommend — and don’t forget to save some luggage space for those Delft souvenirs! 💙

came here as part of our bus tour, we had a really friendly guide, very informative. because of our bus free time we didn’t get to see everything but what we did see was amazing, the shop was also good and did have some more affordable items such as magnets, there is also a cafe which again we unfortunately didn’t get to go in but it looked lovely, overall the place was somewhat busy and had a nice atmosphere, if we ever came to the area again we would make a longer visit.
Lauren P — Google review
“The Royal Delft Museum is beautiful, with a fascinating history behind the famous Delft Blue. The visit is very enriching and the pieces are true works of art. However, both the entrance fee and the gift shop are quite expensive. Still, I recommend it as a unique experience to discover this Dutch icon.
Biarda L — Google review
This, for me, has been the best museum experience during my trip. It's not an art museum per se, but learning about the history of porcelain (or rather faience), seeing the process, and walking through the factory and experiencing the painting phase live - it was an emotional journey. Lovely explanations of the Delft Blue ceramic making process, with plenty of examples and a walk through the factory itself. The history of the process: rich and ever-growing, always improving. I'm curious how would a similar museum feel in China or other Asian places, which have been the precursors of European ceramic traditions. All in all, if you love ceramics, make sure you visit!

The City Hall Rotterdam is a neo-renaissance building from 1914, which escaped the World War II bombings. The building was designed by Henri Evers to accommodate the spaces which the previous council hall could not. As a prominent historical landmark and symbol of Dutch survival during World War II, the city hall is an excellent place to visit in Rotterdam for 30 minutes or less.
What a magnificent building this city hall is! It's worth a visit simply to admire the architecture. The entrance on the left of the building, opposite the police station, is for civil registry. When you want to take photographs please ask the guard (s) for permission and make sure your photos are devoid of people.

Walked thru as a tourist. Wish I could have seen the wheel chair ramp in action. Saw a newly married couple getting their photos taken. The courtyard garden didn't really impress me.
Travelsalot1988 — Google review
A Rare Survivor with a Story to Tell Rotterdam is known for its modern architecture, but the Stadhuis (City Hall) is one of the few historic buildings that survived the 1940 bombing — and it shows. With its ornate sandstone facade, arched windows, and beautiful courtyard, it stands proudly on the Coolsingel as a reminder of the city’s pre-war identity. Built between 1914 and 1920, the building mixes Renaissance and Beaux-Arts influences, and is filled with symbolic details — lions, angels, and crests representing peace, justice, and resilience. You can admire it from outside, or if you're lucky enough to catch it open for a public event or guided tour, the interior is just as impressive. As TourGuys, we often stop here during our city tours. It’s not just a photo opportunity — it’s a place where we share stories about the destruction and rebuilding of Rotterdam, and how this one building managed to remain standing while nearly everything around it was flattened. Tip: Walk around the side to discover the peaceful inner courtyard — a quiet little gem in the middle of the city. The Stadhuis isn’t just beautiful — it’s symbolic, resilient, and essential to understanding Rotterdam’s past.

As a tourist, this is one of the most spectacular, pieces of period architecture that was spared by WW2 in Rotterdam. It’s elaborate, classy and gorgeous. You can roam around at your own accord and try to go in the early evening so you can wonder at the spectacular garden when it’s illuminated

The Stadhuis (City Hall) of Rotterdam is a magnificent example of early 20th-century architecture, completed in 1920. It is one of the few buildings in the city center that survived the bombings of World War II. The interior is equally impressive, featuring grand murals, elegant marble details, and intricate woodwork. The murals within the Stadhuis are captivating, depicting scenes of historical and cultural significance, adding to the grandeur of the hall. The marble fireplace, with its ornate gold accents and classic design, stands as a testament to the craftsmanship of the era. Visitors to the Stadhuis are often struck by the building’s stately presence and the sense of history it embodies. It is not only a functioning government building but also a monument that reflects the resilience and spirit of Rotterdam. Whether you're interested in architecture, history, or simply looking for a beautiful place to visit, the Stadhuis of Rotterdam offers a unique and enriching experience.

Really elegant building on the inside and the outside. Pretty easy, I booked tickets in advance, just scan in and then you can start. I started on the 3rd floor exhibition, this one was about the colonial history of the Netherlands. The exhibition I really liked was on the 2nd floor, it was titled "Made in China." This outlined a lot of China's history and their contributions to the world. Unfortunately the 1st floor exhibition was closed but it was really nice to see the dining area, amazing view. Overall nice to visit.

Very nice museum but, The short-haired lady in the craft area is too rude to work with children. From the moment my group of 4-year-olds and I entered the area, she had a sour face and gave instructions in a curt manner. One of the girls asked her to make a second pin, and she very rudely told us, "It's one per person, and you know it!" when she had never explained that to us. She could explain the rules to the kids in a nice way and smiling. Anyway, I recommend hiring more friendly staff… and btw, the red parrot is an eclectus female, not a male. Red eclectus are females and green eclectus are males. Ollie is not hij, is zij.

The winning design successfully combines traditional cinema architecture with modern structural elements. It is known for hosting musicals, cabaret, opera, and spectacular shows. The theater offers comfortable seating with great views from almost every angle and convenient facilities and bars.
A very large and tidy hall on four floors, with a very professional bar with beautiful decoration, a varied drink menu, and a very good sound system.

Beautiful modern theater, very spacious indoor areas, comfy seating overal. Bit difficult to find parking, if you have not booked something in advance. Horrible toilets! Men and women's toilets are combined, including having the urinoirs for men out in the open. Meaning you'll have your equipment hanging out, while a line of women are standing directly behind you waiting for a regular toilet...

It offers a diverse living collection of trees categorized into different types, making it an ideal destination for family outings or educational activities. Visitors can explore a wide variety of plants including rare species and perennial trees in addition to several greenhouses showcasing unique plant varieties.

The TU Delft botanical garden is something different from what I’m used to, it’s not there to show the most exotic plants and be the most beautiful, but instead, as it’s a technical university, it’s meant to share the different plants and their use in different technologies which is very interesting! It’s a nice stroll, not very big, with some genuinely nice places to sit and be calm, I wish it was a bit more informative in an easy way to learn.
Jonathan — Google review
Walking through the Hortus Botanicus Delft felt like stepping into a living museum of plants. I wandered among themed sections—from medicinal herbs to exotic species—each carefully curated to reflect centuries of botanical study. Beyond its educational value, the garden is also a peaceful retreat, perfect for slow exploration and quiet reflection. My visit left me inspired by how thoughtfully the garden balances research, conservation, and public enjoyment.

If you lower your expectations this could be a pretty cool place. I suggest bringing a picnic and finding some shade or using the gazebo to stretch your time there. We enjoyed the exhibit about the refugee housing and seeing the prototypes.

Delft Botanical Garden was founded about 100 years ago. Each plant in it has a name plate in Dutch and Latin. This will help you find it if you want to plant it in your home garden or balcony. All the trees, bushes and flowers are well-kept. There is a greenhouse for tropical plants, including insectivorous ones, as well as a separate greenhouse for cacti. The territory of the Delft Botanical Garden is small. You will take your time to explore it in an hour and a half. Now inside, there is also a temporary exhibition on how the plants were used to produce dyes and cloth. Detailed explanations in English and Dutch. There is a coffee point on the territory of the garden. And near the entrance to the garden there is a cash desk and a shop where you can buy themed souvenirs and even flowers. Another interesting corner is the apothecary "garden". The information plates show how these plants were used in medicine in the Middle Ages. Two metasequoias grow nearby. Definitely worth a visit.

The casino looks stunning, but don’t be fooled — it’s designed to drain your money as fast as possible. Sure, you might get lucky and win a bit, but if you’re smart, you’ll cash out immediately. Sometimes it really feels like the machines ‘read’ your vouchers and loyalty card to make sure you don’t win too much. Honestly, it’s mind-blowing.”

18 Oct 25- Restaurant review: Great friendly service but they don't fill your glass of tap water and they don't put a price on the water in the menu. They serve an amazing rare (doneness) steak (Ierse Runderbiefstuk), and beef carpaccio. Their tenderloin on specials were fatty and not great. Pork tenderloin (varkenhaas) was super dry, tough, and not warm. Everything is expensive, even the bread which was €12.
Gaius L — Google review
They use the “dress code” as a way to discriminate against people they don’t favor. Think about it…why would a casino deny entry to anyone willing to “donate” to them? We were denied entry because one of us was wearing shorts. The shorts were actually nice dress shorts. However, as we pointed out to the security guy Mike (that’s what he claimed his name was—it was a guy with slicked black hair), there were 20 other people that he let in before us that were wearing shorts that were much less “dressy” than us. So, I’m left to believe that he didn’t allow us in because we were either Americans or because we were a gay couple. Pure discrimination. We didn’t expect this in Rotterdam. If you value inclusivity, you should avoid the Holland Casino.

I've never been to a casino before. So we went here for dinner. We didn't gamble after dinner though. The food was great, actually. The Tajine was awesome. The lamb meat was very tender. Nestled on Oude Binnenweg 59, the Roman Palace Casino stands out as a true treasure in Rotterdam's vibrant casino scene. Spanning an impressive 1500 square meters, this venue immerses visitors in a captivating Roman ambiance that transports you back to ancient times. Known for its claim as the largest jackpot casino in the city, it offers an exciting atmosphere perfect for those looking to try their luck.
Good vibe but you will never win.

Unreliable casino.. I felt completely upset with the people who work there.. They stay all day harassing the customer making him lose his money.. No respect for the customer, something that is already customary in Rotterdam. Standing behind the customer conceraging and laughing!!
Diogo T — Google review
Another place where the staff gets involved with the clientes.. A little very unlegging, the jokes and the ill-intentioned impulses. Place-like old home Forward They are capable of messing with you and still exposing you. I'm straight I don't like geys hitting on me, and still get paid for it. Great little shame, now translate for me what is going on inside because I don't understand where your principles were..
Diogo K — Google review
We had a pleasant evening at the casino. Friendly staff who served snacks and drinks, but one employee was very rude to both customers . The employee, of Asian descent, only helped customers of the same descent. Whenever we asked him for something, he'd shoo us away with his hand, which was very unpleasant and really dampened the atmosphere. Nothing to complain about the other employees; they were excellent.

Playground
Speeltuinvereniging Katendrecht is a delightful playground that offers a safe and enjoyable environment for children to play. With equipment thoughtfully divided by age groups, parents can relax knowing their little ones are protected from larger kids while they explore and have fun. The playground is not only spacious but also well-maintained, providing plenty of activities to keep the young ones entertained. Conveniently located next to the iconic SS Rotterdam hotel boat, this charming spot allows families to enjoy additional attractions nearby.
This is a great place for your little kids to play and have a break. It is a beautiful playground with the playing equipment segmented in age groups. Nice so your little one won't get knocked over by bigger kids while playing. There is an onside place with a toilet and to get a quick snack, ice-cream or candy. Prices very low. The entrance fee is also as good as nothing. Situated next to the iconic SS Rotterdam hotel boat. There is a parking next to it. Bit more difficult by public transport. Although the 20 minute walk from hotel new york is one I would advise any tourist. You come passed the great Deli square in katendrecht, belvedere, buizenpark.
Niels E — Google review
It would be better if the old people who managed the place are a bit empathic with the people who wait outside. I was waiting more than 40 minutes because the said "we are busy" while drinking coffee. Good toasties btw.

Very nice parc for the children, clean, big and with lots of games. Felt secure

I think that the speeltuinvereniging katendrect is groot and enough for playing with children. and surprisingly we can see the huge of SS Rotterdam here.
Endang S — Google review
Speeltuinvereniging Katendrecht is a fantastic playground for kids. It's not only a fun place for children but also clean and secure, giving parents peace of mind. Plus, the location is a bonus, with the SS Rotterdam just around the corner, offering even more family-friendly activities in the area.

Nice playground on a quiet neighborhood. Lots of things to do for children. There is a canteen with restrooms.
Jimmy T — Google review
Very nice place just right to SSrotterdam. Just near this garden you can see yellow amphibian bus going into the water!

This is a great playground for the kids, well worth the few euros it cost to get in. It's a lovely breath of fresh air and a good leg stretcher for when you are docked in Rotterdam.

Van Maanenbad is a swimming facility that has been in operation for 80 years. It was recognized for its excellence as the top new pool following renovations. In addition to this, there are various outdoor activities available at the center. The outdoor swimming pool is situated in the back of the facility and is encompassed by a small grassy area. Located in Blijdorp, this pool offers fantastic amenities during summer months with its open-air features.
I swim here 2-3 days per week. Great and clean facilities. The staff is very friendly and there is an outdoor pool in summer. The outdoor pool's water is a bit chilly, but on a hot day, it is very refreshing and pleasant! Strongly recommended!
María M — Google review
Clean swimming pool which also has a quite big section outside. Not really suitable for recreational swimming though. Also during swimming classes and exams you usually cannot buy any food or drinks, which is absolutely ridiculous. Staff behind the counter doesn't seem to care about that either. Swimming coaches are really nice though.
Hugo H — Google review
Be very careful sending your kids here for swimming lessons. My son was taken there by his school once a week and the swimming instructors were both verbally and physically abusive towards him. One in particular..a heavy set blond dutch woman humiliated him in front of all the other children, dragged him by his ear, and he came home on 2 occasions with finger bruises on his arms My son is on the spectrum, and these instructors had no patience or understanding of the psychological damage they inflicted on my child. I went to speak to them and was told it happened because he wasn't listening. Looking back, I should have gone to the police to report this as the person I spoke with couldn't care less about what had happened. They should not be working with children.

Located close to the Blijdorp district of Rotterdam, also walkable from the the Central Station (15-20 min). Good learner's pool, can get crowded sometimes. Lockers are available.
Varun N — Google review
Note for non Dutchies. Apparently you need a Dutch Swimming Diploma to be let in the swimming end of the outside pool. My nine year old son was told he wasn’t allowed in the swimming end of the pool, despite having his Swim England badges, 5 years of lessons, and most importantly, being a very capable swimmer and in there with me. Three lifeguards confirmed this (two at the time and a third a my partner asked as she thought there must be some confusion). My son was very disappointed to be relegated to the kiddy pool as it is too shallow to swim and too busy with adults throwing footballs around. He asked to leave after an hour (despite it being 31 degrees) as he wasn’t enjoying himself. I give it two stars as last year we also visited and it was fine. I doubt I’ll be back to find out if things change in future though.

Terrible place! My kid were assaulted by 3 older kids cursing him with Islamic curses and the guards just said "it's their culture". This is not about culture: it's about lack of respect to local rules, culture and laws. Never to come back!

The Van Maanenbad in Rotterdam is a historic swimming pool, known for its beautiful architecture and indoor facilities. It's a popular spot for both leisurely swims and serious training sessions. The pool offers various amenities, including lap swimming lanes, diving boards, and a children's pool, making it suitable for people of all ages and swimming abilities. Additionally, the Van Maanenbad hosts swimming lessons, aqua fitness classes, and other aquatic programs. It's a beloved community landmark in Rotterdam, attracting locals and visitors alike.
Deepak — Google review
Located close to the downtown, for a fair price. I really could like this place to cool off on a warm day and enjoy the sunshine at the pool. But it is unbelievable that the staff cannot keep the jumpers under control. It makes the whole time a nightmare, fighting kids and jumpers around the pool. Why the staff not organizing them to one side and prohibit the jumping from the other side of the pool? It would be a win-win, people could still jump, rest could just chill on the other side. They are jumping on the head of others, and the benches cannot even be used because of splashing. The calm side could be used for swimming as well. For now it is a zoo. Because of that I rather choose an other facility even if I have to travel and pay more.

Oostelijk Zwembad is an alternative swimming pool option that transports you to the 1930s era with its aesthetics. Housed in a beautiful historic building, it offers a pleasant swimming experience. However, some visitors find the pricing of 5.70 for one hour to be too expensive. Additionally, there seems to be limited time allocated for lap swimming, resulting in high volumes of swimmers at any given time slot.
Love to swim here, sometimes it's crowded but since it's a public swimming pool there's no reason to complain
Steven G — Google review
Honestly to say expected more from this place, no hair dryers, old furniture, normal shower doesn’t exist here, strange rules of attendance on the swimming time(not allowed to enter the swimming pool more than 5 minutes before the open swimming starts, even though you need to change your clothes). The only positive thing about this place is location and price, maybe because of the price the rest is relatively bad)
ORACLE — Google review
The facility is old, but the structure feels solid and has a certain charm to it. Water Quality: Unfortunately, the water didn’t appear very clean. While I didn’t analyze it scientifically, I could clearly see through my high-quality swimming goggles that the water lacked clarity. I’ve only seen a few pools with water like this, which was a bit disappointing. Staff: Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, but there was one lifeguard who behaved quite impolitely, which affected the overall experience. Swimming Time: There is very limited time allocated for lane swimmers – only one hour then 2 hours reserved for clubs or sth. Likely , which feels quite restrictive.

+ location - very old ( you can proud that it is monument, but you don’t need 200+ tiny not comfortable changing boxes… is it not better to do +100 comfortable ones? ). -1 hour for swimming :( you are not allowed to come in earlier, just 5 minutes before… all people come same time, all people are swimming same time, almost all people go to shower same time …. How about 2 hours gap at least to make it less crowded while swimming? - terrible hair dryer. Extreme hot air for 5 seconds, after need to press again and again…. Seems that management never tried it themselves…. And only 1 downstairs…. - 3 watcher for a pool - a bit too much
Valentyna D — Google review
I like the architecture of the pool and the staff are friendly. But man this pool is so uncomfortably warm. Both the water and the surrounding. Indeed if hell had a swimming pool, that'd be 5 degrees cooler! I noticed that in the colder months of the year as well. I like that they have time slots on convenient time in the evening but the pool becomes a bit crowded. It is what it is though. Moreover, at the time of writing this review, you can use the subscription of Van Mannen and Oostervant pools at this place as well which adds to the flexibility.
Arian M — Google review
I encountered a few health hazards such as people with foot fungus that can be contagious, it felt like sanitary safety is not at a good standard - no regulations informing the safe use of the pool and shower area.
Sofia S — Google review
A nice pool in a beautiful historic building! I would give more stars but there isn't much time for lap swimming. €5.70 for one hour seems too expensive, not to mention hardly any of the schedule has been allocated for lap swimming and as such no matter what time slot you choose you can expect there to be a high volume of swimmers. I understand a city pool has a lot of customers, but there needs to be more time allocated to the most popular activity surely?

Jack's Casino Rotterdam Centrum is a delightful spot for those looking to enjoy a gaming experience in the heart of the city. With two locations, one conveniently situated at Pathe Schouwburgplein, it offers a pleasant atmosphere that isn't overly crowded. Visitors can savor complimentary hot and cold non-alcoholic beverages while enjoying occasional snacks served by friendly staff. The casino provides an enjoyable environment where you can play responsibly and appreciate your time without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
Pleasant and quiet establishment with free non-alchoholic hot and cold beveridges and occasional food brought round by staff. Altogether a good experience but as with any casino you play at your own risk so don't blame them if you leave with empty pockets!
