History museum
The Rijksmuseum, located in a 19th-century building, is a treasure trove of Dutch Golden Age paintings and an extensive European art collection. It is one of Amsterdam's most popular attractions and serves as the city's primary art repository. The museum was established to house the country's vast collection of rare art and antiquities, which includes over 8,000 important paintings spanning from the 13th century to modern times.
The Rijksmuseum is truly massive — a treasure trove filled with everything from exquisite porcelain and jewelry to world-class paintings and sculptures. The highlight, of course, is the stunning collection of works by masters like Rembrandt and Van Gogh. The audio guide (or even better, the museum app) is worth getting, as it helps bring the art to life and makes it easier to navigate the maze-like halls. The museum’s grand corridors and detailed exhibits make it easy to lose track of time — and sometimes your way. There’s also a nice gift shop and a restaurant on-site, though both can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours.
Vidya H — Google review
Great museum. Hadn’t been for a few years, better than I remembered. Amazing art spread over four floors in the heart of the museum area. Saw huge works of art, great sculpture too and even an aircraft up on floor 3. And a condom that dates back to 1830 🙄 A must see. Only takes a couple of hours to get a good feel. You can then return to explore more.
Andrew D — Google review
Stunning setting on par with the Louvre; goldmine of Dutch Masters but also extensive collections of porcelain, china, silverware, jewelry, firearms, nautical models and other items. Large, open atrium and other common areas with ample access to washrooms, lifts and stairwells. App (IOS and Android) loads easily and allows access to thematic and custom tours. BRING ear buds, although you can listen via your phone’s speaker. Audio device is only €6.50 each. Cafeteria fills by mid-day with lineup; we grabbed coffee / tea and a brownie for two at the smaller cafe. Cons: App and general signage could be better at orienting visitors: it took a while to find the Great Hall. Many exhibits are dimly lit; I know this protects paintings/fabric/etc, but many other international museums have more ample lighting. Maybe illuminate the text descriptions separately? Given that explanatory panels are often mounted within 50cm of the floor, deciphering them can pose a challenge. Even saw quite young folks having to squint. Strongly advise staff to engage an Optometrist to assist in this. Sum: certainly a “must see”, with a complete visit likely requiring 3+ hrs. Staff very helpful, and roving throughout the museum. Buy tickets from the official site beforehand (or via QR on site), and avail yourself of the (included) coat-check.
Kevin B — Google review
The Rijksmuseum is an incredible place to explore Dutch art and history. The collection is world-class from Rembrandt’s The Night Watch to Vermeer’s The Milkmaid, every gallery feels like a walk through time. The building itself is stunning, and the layout makes it easy to wander and discover something new at every turn. That said, it can get very crowded, especially on weekends. I definitely recommend buying your tickets in advance to skip the long lines and secure your preferred time slot. Once inside, take your time there’s so much to see that it’s worth spending a few hours here. Overall, a fantastic cultural experience and a must-visit in Amsterdam, just make sure to plan ahead!
Dibyojeet B — Google review
Buy tickets outside at a little portable booth in front of the overpass. Watch out for FAST💨 BIKES!!! The famous Night Watchman by Rembrandt is under serious restoration and is partially blocked due to scaffolding. This painting is on the second floor, the 1700s. Later work by Van Gogh is on the 1st floor exhibited. We also ate lunch in the museum cafeteria and the food was super fast and fresh! The chicken salad and the buffalo mozzarella salad were excellent!!

Classic, iconic, and indispensable art museum. While it is best known for its classic collection and Dutch Golden Age masterpieces, it also hosts an extensive selection of works from other periods, including contemporary critical exhibits. Carefully curated, the visit can be extensive if one wishes to cover all it has to offer. But it makes for a memorable experience both for those with a dedication to art and culture, and the casual visitor. It is useful to book tickets in advance. While the crowds are managed reasonably, it can get busy, in particular in the most popular galleries. An early arrival is useful to enjoy those works in a more relaxed way. The museum has quality services for information, accessibility, shop, restaurant and coffee bar. Staff is professional, congenial, and knowledgeable across all roles. The 2013 refurbishment of the historic Pierre Cuypers building by Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos still feels fresh, cogent, and successful in upgrading the entrances, patios, service areas, and selected exhibition spaces. If anything it would have been nice to have a more direct opportunity to understand the evolution of the building, its spaces, collection history, and new curatorial practices. Although much of that emerges through the visiting experience, and carefully prepared exhibits.
Daniel L — Google review
This museum was huge! Beautiful to look and on both the inside and the outside. Beautiful gardens and greenery and the building was an architectural masterpiece. Our story is a little funny because even tho we paid to enter, we were so tired from the day already that we only entered for a mere 3 minutes and then stepped out to go look for Stroopwaffles. We barely saw anything here, but hey everyone says it's a must-see when you're visiting Amsterdam.
Shoshana A — Google review
The Rijksmuseum is spacious and full of variety—you can easily spend two hours or more exploring. Of course, the famous paintings, especially those by Rembrandt, are breathtaking. But beyond that, we enjoyed discovering other exhibits too: delicate porcelain, shipbuilding models, and historical artifacts that tell stories beyond the canvas. We arrived early, which helped—it was fairly quiet at first. But the museum filled up quickly and became quite crowded in some areas. The café is lovely and offers a peaceful break. Unfortunately, The Night Watch is currently under restoration, but even so, it remains a powerful and moving centerpiece. Visiting the Rijksmuseum is a beautiful experience—perfect for art lovers, history enthusiasts, and anyone seeking cultural depth and inspiration.

The Anne Frank House, located in the heart of Amsterdam, is a museum that offers visitors a glimpse into the harrowing experience of Anne Frank and her family during World War II. Housed in the actual building where they hid from the Nazis for two years, the museum provides an immersive look at this dark period in history. Visitors can explore the old part of the house and the secret annex, gaining insight into Anne Frank's story and Amsterdam's wartime past.
You need to buy tickets online in advance! They go on sale 6 weeks prior to your date of entry on Tuesdays. I forget the time but for US purchase, I had to get up at 3 am and they sold out pretty fast. It's worth it! You get timed entry so be there on time! It's a really nice facility. You enter from the street side and can use toilets before going into the museum. You'll get an audio tour in your language but in 2025 it did not talk while in the secret annex so learn about the rooms before you visit to maximize to your experience! Be sure to go see the house from the canal side too as that is the famous side! There is a small plaque on the house that says "Anne Frank Haus" or something really similar to that! Go, being in the rooms makes you appreciate that 8 people spent 22 months living in that space and helps you understand their plight with new eyes. No pictures or video allowed. Also they have some of Anne Franks writings on display after you leave the secret annex.
Paula C — Google review
Great unique experience. They give you individual audio pods which hosts several languages. This gallery is the home that Anne Frank found refuge with her family before they were found. As you enter each room, you scan the room# as it narrates events in her life. There is a bookstore and café shop located at the end of the tour. Rsvp online purchase as it is busy, but not really a long wait when it get there. Goes fast and the tour is about an hour long.
J. # — Google review
Impressive, very well conserved. Autoguided visit. No photos allowed in the hidden house, only in the visitors centre for the ones who buy the ticket+introdutory lesson (30 minutes for an overview of the history, I fully recommend). It can be a little sufocating not only because of the place but also about the history that happened inside. It is impossible going there and not feel bad about what these walls have listened and witnessed. It is a painful but necessary visit.
Carol P — Google review
Really would recommend. The audio tour helps paint a picture of what it was like back then. Imagining having to be quiet so you weren't heard. Seeing the original features really brings it to life.
Louise G — Google review
A solemn and moving museum to remind humanity not to repeat such horrific events. The courage of not only the Frank family but also the saints who helped this family was displayed. It filled my heart to see that the dreams of a young girl was fulfilled although she was denied to live her life.
Amy T — Google review
Amazing! You cannot take photos inside, they have coat check so you can bring your bag to leave there. They also provide speaker phone type of device in many different languages. I have a spinal condition and was able to make all of the stairs! I highly recommend.
Meyri D — Google review
Awesome experience. A must for those in Amsterdam. History truly comes to life right in front of you. No photos allowed in the house itself.
Jeff M — Google review
A great display. To see the conditions & how the family lived hiding all those years was amazing. You certainly have to book 6 weeks in advance in summer/peak season. Unfortunately no photos allowed to be taken inside the complex.

The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam is a must-visit for art enthusiasts and history buffs. It opened in 1972 and is dedicated to the life and art of Vincent van Gogh, one of the most revered painters in the Netherlands.
Anyone interested in Van Gogh’s life and work should attend this museum. I highly recommend purchasing the audio tour, as it gives an immersive experience to all of his most famous works and highlights of his personal life. The museum is not short or long. Easy to follow and grasp. I recommend to purchase tickets in advance! One of the best art experiences in Amsterdam.
Lorenzo E — Google review
We try to visit an art museum in every city we visit and this was a great one! Very organized timed entry and exit. The audio tour was great and the art was obviously amazing. It was also a good size, but not so big your feet hurt by the end. :) Definitely a must see if you visit Amsterdam but buy your tickets well in advance!
Carrie F — Google review
Must visit if you like art even one tiny bit. I'm not an art aficionado myself but I can't not be amazed by Van Gogh's Paintings. You cannot buy tickets at the gate. It must be pre purchased online beforehand. Please note the starry night (Van Gogh's most famous painting) is not here. But they have other amazing paintings including another masterpiece - The potato eaters. The lighting is not nice. It's dull yellow and doesn't do justice to the colours. It should be much brighter. One thing which was not nice was the locker system to keep your backpack which is not allowed inside. It's free but had no instructions. You first need to go to the panel and enter a code and it will assign a locker. The shop is also nice, they have some really good items for sale. Overall worth every penny !
Rick R — Google review
An absolutely incredible experience! Visiting the Van Gogh Museum was a highlight of my trip to Amsterdam. The collection is extraordinary, featuring the world’s largest selection of Van Gogh’s masterpieces. Each room takes you deeper into his life, his emotions, and the evolution of his unique artistic style. From the iconic Sunflowers to The Bedroom and many of his lesser-known works, every painting tells a story and invites you to linger, reflect, and truly appreciate the genius behind them. A tip for anyone planning to visit: go early! The museum can get crowded, and you’ll want plenty of quiet time to soak in the details of each painting. I found myself captivated for hours, moving slowly from one room to the next, completely immersed in the colors, textures, and emotions Van Gogh captured on canvas. The museum is beautifully organized, and the exhibits provide excellent context about his life, influences, and struggles. The combination of his art and the informative displays makes this not just a visit, but an emotional journey through one of the most brilliant artistic minds in history. If you love art, history, or simply want to experience something that stays with you long after leaving, this museum is a must-visit. I left feeling inspired, awed, and grateful for the opportunity to witness these masterpieces up close. Truly unforgettable! 🎨
Abdulbaki K — Google review
I truly enjoyed the experience! Though the museum doesn’t have some works like the starry night, it explores the path of Vincent through the time. What I liked is examples of the work that inspired Van Gogh, the paintings of his friends that he exchanged for his paintings and the paintings that got inspiration from Van Gogh. An extended audio guide was easy to follow and it felt pretty short.
Art — Google review
Let’s be honest this is one of those things that everyone tells you have to see. If you’re visiting Amsterdam, you’re probably going whether you want to or not. Take the back staircase that gives you a great view of the area below. I actually recommend going all the way to the top first and then working your way down. Don’t worry about going to the first gift shop you see there’s multiple gift shops there. They’re also is a few really great views to be had depending on where you stop for a coffee. The architecture of the building itself is actually really enjoyable. There’s a lot of art to be seen so if you walk into one room and it’s crowded just circle back to it later. Budget a few hours, but don’t spend the whole day because there’s a ton to do in the surrounding area.
Kevin H — Google review
The Van Gogh Museum is absolutely stunning, not just the building itself, which is beautiful, but the entire atmosphere. The exhibits are incredible, of course, but what truly stood out to me was the storytelling. As we walked through the museum, we felt like we were being guided through Vincent’s life, seeing the world through his eyes, and understanding his struggles, passion, and vision on a much deeper level. By the time we left, we had a completely new appreciation of who Vincent Van Gogh was, both as an artist and as a person. It’s an experience that stays with you long after you’ve walked out the door.
Ellie V — Google review
I had a great experience. I would say it would take 1.5-2 hours to get through the museum. There is a lot of people (of course) which does make it harder to enjoy but what can you do. There is a lot to learn about his life. There are some other artists who were his friend or inspiration etc. The gift shops/ cafe are about the size of the museum itself but it has a huge selection too and reasonably priced. There are also lockers to store your bags/ coat hangers so you don’t have to carry around so much and can enjoy the works of art.

Nature & Parks
Vondelpark is a 19th-century urban park in Amsterdam, known for its romantic ambiance and serene setting. It's a popular spot for couples, offering beautiful landscapes with colorful flowers and trees. The park features cafes and restaurants where couples can enjoy intimate meals. Additionally, it's a favored location for engagements and engagement photoshoots. Vondelpark offers various attractions such as a rose garden, an open-air theater, tennis courts, and a paddling pool.
What an inspiring place to be, with hundreds of people running every second. A wonderful park right in the heart of the city, offering every shade of green. Perfect place to walk, go for a run, enjoy a drink at one of the many spots around, or simply chill on a summer day.
Nida Ö — Google review
My local park. I love it & so do many many Amsterdamers.. Tourists, everyone. Busy and buzzing. With lots of wildlife and some quiet peaceful areas.. Lovely Rose garden. Playgrounds, Bars, restaurants and concert venue inside. It's a main thoroughfare into the city and in the mornings and evenings it's like a Football game has ended.. Great for running - just about 3.5km all the way around the place but also inline skating and cycling. Walking etc.. Outside smelly Dutch style urinals placed strategically about but also public toilets in the bars.. A long and fairly narrow green lung in the city.
CJW — Google review
A beautiful park to take a walk to or go by bike!!! If you have time you can just sit on a bench or on the grass and enjoy the calm nature around you. Really a beautiful place!
Ir B — Google review
Vondelpark is amazing, i would just wish that Amsterdam had like 10 of Vondelparks. :) Great place to hang out and walk around out of the hustle and bustle of the city surrounding it. Vondelstraat is also a great neighborhood to walk through.
Rahvu420 — Google review
Walked through this beautiful Vondel park, lots of people taking advantage of this park, walking, running, biking, sitting on benches, sitting on the grass. Many people were here and I found I had to watch myself that I didn’t get in anyone’s way, still glad I checked this area out.
Anne B — Google review
I absolutely loved the park the trees and roses were breathtaking to see in person. The sound of running water added such a calming touch, and the Japanese maples were stunning. It’s the perfect spot for yoga or simply unwinding after a busy day.
Jacob B — Google review
Vondelpark is a truly beautiful and relaxing place in the heart of Amsterdam. The park feels peaceful and full of life at the same time, with wide green spaces, winding paths, and lovely ponds. It’s perfect for walking, cycling, or simply sitting on a bench and enjoying the atmosphere. Whether you visit in the morning or at sunset, the scenery is charming and the vibe is welcoming. It’s a wonderful escape from the busy city streets and a must-see for anyone visiting Amsterdam.
Aymen C — Google review
Our favorite spot in Amsterdam! We walked and cycled across this park almost every day during our stay in Amsterdam, and each time we found a lovely spot inside this park. They have rose sections which I imagine would be best during spring or early summer. There are public toilets accessible in this park, not sure about the cleanliness.

Lookouts
A'DAM Lookout, formerly known as ADAM Toren, is a 22-story tower located on the north shore of the IJ in Amsterdam. Originally built as the headquarters of Royal Dutch Shell, it has been transformed into a hotel with bars and restaurants. Visitors can take a glass-ceilinged elevator ride to reach A'DAM Lookout, an observation deck offering stunning panoramic views of the IJ River and Amsterdam's historic center.
Nice little jaunt from Amsterdam, walk to centraal station, walk under the tunnel, it takes you to the Ferry. But be careful as of the 3, 1 goes down the water and not just across the way like the other 2. Free Ferry across the way, turn right and then you're there. Great fast lift up, top floor is open and had a bar, but was too windy that day, so one floor down, there's a windowed floor that has a bar, where we sat and enjoyed a drink. Very enjoyable place that's a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Damraak.
Gary S — Google review
A’DAM Lookout offers an amazing view of Amsterdam — definitely worth a visit! The view is especially beautiful in the evening when the city lights come on. Just keep in mind that there’s an entrance fee of around €18–€19 per person, and if you want to go on the famous swing at the top, that’s an extra €7.50.
Atif G — Google review
Fun Experience! The views from A’DAM Tower were absolutely beautiful, offering a perfect panoramic look over Amsterdam. It wasn’t crowded when we visited, which made the experience even better. We also tried the swing — such a fun and thrilling experience! Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Amsterdam.
Chirléy L — Google review
Great views, but today was hazy because of the sun. Perhaps later in the day may have been better. I liked the music that was playing as we had a drink. Shame we did not know about the audio guide you can download until we were leaving. The staff should advise you really. But its recommended
Carlsberg — Google review
I love getting a view from you high when visiting a new city. This place provides a fantastic 360 view. The inside has tables to eat and drink at and then there is a view just above that from the outside. There's a little drink and snack stand outside with some seating. There's also swings that go out over the edge of the building. I skipped those, but if you're looking for a thrill go for it. There's also music constantly playing. I'd recommend this to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
Emily W — Google review
Worth a visit. The views are absolutely beautiful. Hot chocolate was delicious too. Plus, despite not liking heights, I'd really recommend the swing.
Louise G — Google review
Would recommend to do prior online booking to avoid the line at the entrance. We got a combo, which included swing along with the VR experience. I really enjoyed my time on the open roof top. Minus the cold windy weather ;P They also provide you a QR code where you can get all your photos for FREE. Go wild and shoot some cool memories. Interesting was, how they made an 15 sec elevator ride a small disco experience.
Yash M — Google review
Great views of Amsterdam below! Was lucky to go there during SAIL so it was amazing to see all the boats go past. Roughly 20m to enter and leave as there is only 1 lift down! The swing lasts 2-5 minutes but you can’t bring phones on it and record while swinging. The snacks and the drinks on the top are quite expensive but the food the floor below is amazing. Immerse yourself in the world of one of the most famous beer brands at the Heineken Experience, located in Amsterdam's De Pijp district. Housed in a former 19th-century brewery, this interactive museum takes you through the history of Heineken, from its origins to modern-day marketing. Explore four floors filled with brewing artifacts, multimedia exhibits, and even a quirky 4D ride that simulates being brewed and bottled.
Such a great place! Go learn about a fantastic global beer that started right in Amsterdam! Recommend the tour and rooftop! The tour was pretty quick but very interesting - but a nice spot for a couple beers at the end! Then the rooftop is where it’s at - such a great view of the city! Amazing gift shop with a little bit of everything!

Absolutely blown away from start to finish! The Heineken Experience in Amsterdam is a truly polished, world-class attraction — not just for those with an interest in beer, but for anyone who enjoys a fun, interactive, and high-quality experience. From the moment we arrived, everything felt seamless and well thought out. The tour guides and staff are an absolute credit to Heineken — all so friendly, engaging, and genuinely enthusiastic about what they do. You can really tell they love being there, and it makes the whole visit that much better. As someone who works in facilities management, I have to mention the cleanliness — it’s impeccable. Not a speck of dust to be found anywhere! The toilets were spacious and spotless, not one light out or a single scuff mark on the walls — and believe me, I looked. This place is a genuine case study in operational excellence. The experience itself gives you a real sense of pride in Heineken; it’s now my go-to beer! The tasting sessions were fantastic, the beer was fresh and delicious, and the rooftop bar offered stunning views — the perfect way to end the tour. It’s not just a cash grab either — there are plenty of fun extras and freebies along the way, and at under €30 per person, it’s an absolute bargain. A must for anyone visiting Amsterdam — you’ll leave with a smile, a pint, and a newfound appreciation for one of the world’s most iconic beers. 🍺🌿🇳🇱

Their tour is super fun and informative. You learn a lot about their history and how they have come so far. You get to see where it is brewed and so so much more. You can even buy a customizable bottle! Their gift shop has so many items, and the bar at the end of the tour is worth hanging around in for a while. Their tour is easy to join and they have lockers for you to keep your things. You get drink tokens with purchase of your tour. Must go to the rooftop!

I’ve wanted to go to the Heineken Brewery for ages and I was sad to say I was a little bit disappointed. The tour was very informative, I enjoyed learning about the beer and brand. But I personally didn’t like some of the interactive elements of the tour, it just felt like space filler unfortunately... The section of the tour where “you are a beer bottle” is brilliant, the tour guides were honestly one of the best parts, they were absolutely brilliant and so funny. The bar at the end of the tour needs more seated areas and tables - it would have been nice to sit and drink my beers instead of just awkwardly stood around.
Euro T — Google review
Ok fun experience if youve never done a brewery tour before. They make it more fun and pop. Rooftop area is beautiful. I guess if its your first time in Amsterdam, this is a must stop attraction. But they focus on making it a bit more fun and sporty rather than historical which was what i was expecting.
W J — Google review
This is a really fun place to visit whether your a fan of the beer or not, it certainly helps if you are that said which we where! Very fun and informative experience. Came a few years ago and was great to see all the new improvements they have made such as the ride.

All I can say is WOW!!!! Honestly it was not high on my agenda on my visit to Amsterdam but decided to do it on one of the two free afternoons we had. It was beyond my expectations, well organized, very professional, interactive and not to mention the free beers. Heineken has been my beer of choice whenever I am away from home so it was actually a treat to see what went into brewing it. Please don’t take my word for it. If you get the opportunity make a point to do the tour….if possible, book the rooftop experience you will be pleasantly surprised.
William B — Google review
What a cool & interactive brewery experience! Love that a general ticket includes 2-3 small beers at the end, informative staff, & interactive rooms where you can take a digital souvenir for example. All the staff we encountered were very friendly/funny, the lobby has lockers/coat hang. Love that its centrally located too

NEMO Science Museum is a massive boat-shaped museum located by the waterfront in Amsterdam. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the city from the large terrace on the roof, which stands 22 meters above sea level. Inside, there are interactive exhibits and shows designed to engage visitors in hands-on exploration of various scientific concepts such as electricity, metals, and the water cycle. The museum also features a scientific laboratory where guests can participate in experiments.
I had a great experience spending time here with my kid. Overall i would not even call it a museum but a science exhibition that allows your kids from baby to teenager to be engaged and enamoured by science. They have different levels that all provide different experiences ranging from practical experiments to chemical reactions, from history of electronics to space and human species. The biggest attraction was their large chain reaction experiment and we enjoyed it throughly.

This museum is brilliant for kids, it is aimed more for kids than adults. There is loads of interacting to do. The husband and i did enjoy some of the interacting parts and had a few laughs. The rooftop cafe was nice, views were lovely. I wouldn't visit again.

The science museum offered a truly fantastic experience. It was especially engaging for younger visitors, with plenty to explore. Many exhibits were captivating and held the interest of all ages. Interactive displays made learning fun and accessible for everyone. Overall, it was a remarkable place to spend the day.

Amazing experience at NEMO Science Museum! I visited NEMO today and was truly impressed. It’s not just a museum but a lively world of science designed for both kids and adults. Everything is interactive — you can touch, play, and experiment while learning about fascinating topics. The exhibits are diverse, from human and animal skeletons to brain science, emotions, and technology. My child especially loved the hands-on activities with screens and headphones — learning through play was so much fun! The museum is modern, clean, and well-organized. The staff are friendly, and the café on the top floor offers a fantastic view of Amsterdam. 👉 A must-visit place in the Netherlands, especially for families with curious kids!

Fun, informative, and very activity-based museum. Lots to do and look at, takes up at least 2 hours and spans across 5 floors. Child, teen, and adult friendly. Lovely rooftop view!

Loved this museum! I went with a 1.5 and a 5 year old. Of course for the 5 year old it was absolutely fabulous, but even for the 1.5 was good. If you go with tounger kids try to dedicate more time to the first 2 floors. 3rd and 4th floors are not great for little children. We brought lunch from home although there is a cafeteria on the top floor. Lockers and a place to park strollers at the entrance.

Madame Tussauds Amsterdam, part of a global museum chain featuring lifelike wax figures of famous personalities and historical icons, has been captivating visitors since its opening in 1972. Located in the heart of Amsterdam near Dam Square, this attraction boasts five themed floors filled with interactive displays and props. It's a great place to visit with family, especially if you're traveling with children or teenagers who will enjoy exploring the different levels.
Wow! What fabulous experience. There is something for everyone to enjoy. You get to see famous Hollywood actors, Sports persons, Political leaders etc. If you are a Rock fan, you can see him also. Don't miss if you are in Amsterdam.

It is recommended to buy tickets in advance for a certain time slot arrival. Although, you can arrive earlier or late as long as you have the tickets you will get in. There is a queue for tickets purchased earlier. Upon your entry you will receive a barcode to use while you explore, but it is purely to create more art/photos etc which you can purchase on your exit, on top of the ticket price, which is not cheap anyway. You can a photo shoot with many stars statues, some better some worse looks alike.

We visited in the evening and bought our tickets on the spot, though it might be worth checking online for better deals. Overall, the place is nice and worth experiencing at least once. You can easily spend 1–2 hours inside exploring and discovering the different wax figures.

It was way better than expected! A really fun experience with many familiar faces - both from pop culture to politics and royalties. I have been in London and Berlin but stupidly never considered going to Madame Tussauds there, but after this experience, I wish I had! A tad expensive though. And would definitely recommend booking in advance.

What a fantastic experience, the subjects look so real it's unbelievable. There's something for everyone from adults, children and even grandparents. The price is very good when you get to see all of the work and effort that goes in to this venue. Truly talented artists and all of the staff and fantastic and very helpful 👍👍👍👍👍

Was I expecting for 27euros a bit more, yes. Was it worth the time going, absolutely. Its my first time, most of the replicas were incredibly realistic.. face wise, i felt unconfortable looking at them :). The hands gave it away almost every time though. The tour can be done in 40-60minutes. About 1/3 of displays represent locals. Overall I wish there were more celebs/ influential people on display, there's definetly room for it. Almost noone was in line for on-site ticket purchase.

The Moco Museum is a modern and contemporary art museum located in the heart of Amsterdam, just a short walk from Museumplein. Housed in an early-20th-century townhouse, it offers a unique experience for art enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. The museum features an impressive collection of works by renowned modern artists such as Banksy, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Yayoi Kusama, and KAWS.
The Moco Museum in Amsterdam is a vibrant and quirky art destination that brings a delightful twist to the traditional museum experience! This gem is dedicated to modern and contemporary art, with a focus on iconic figures like Banksy and Andy Warhol, making it a must-visit for anyone looking to inject some fun into their cultural exploration. As you step inside, the playful atmosphere immediately captures your attention. The museum’s design is bold and contemporary, with well-curated exhibitions that are both engaging and visually stimulating. I loved how the displays encourage interaction and reflection—some pieces even have a cheeky sense of humor that sparks joy! One of the highlights was the Banksy exhibition, which showcased some of his most famous works alongside lesser-known pieces. It’s fascinating to see his provocative art in such a stylish setting, and the blending of street art with fine art feels fresh and exciting. Another must-see is the collection of works by contemporary artists that defy convention and push the boundaries of creativity. It’s a perfect spot for snapping Instagram-worthy photos alongside thought-provoking art. The Moco Museum isn't just about the art; it has a lively café where you can relax and recharge with some delicious snacks and drinks while soaking in the creative vibes. Overall, my visit to the Moco Museum was an absolute blast! It’s the perfect blend of fun, culture, and innovation, making it a fantastic add-on to any Amsterdam itinerary. Whether you're an art lover or just looking for a unique experience, the Moco Museum will leave you inspired and entertained!

I absolutely loved my visit to Moco Museum. The atmosphere is modern, creative, and full of personality, it really pulls you in from the moment you walk in. The staff were super friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. The exhibits were fantastic across the board, but my all-time favourite was definitely the Banksy section. Thought-provoking, iconic, and beautifully presented. If you enjoy contemporary art, this museum is a must-visit. I’d go again in a heartbeat!

I visited the Moco Museum in Amsterdam two weeks ago, and it was such a fun experience. A mix of modern and contemporary art was refreshing and inspiring. I especially loved a digital art exhibition called The Symphony of Nature — it was super dreamy, peaceful, and honestly kind of magical. I also loved seeing the Banksy pieces and works from artists like Warhol, Basquiat and Kusama. The museum isn’t huge, which is perfect if you want something inspiring without spending hours inside. Tip: go in the morning or on a weekday — way fewer people and more space to enjoy everything. If you like modern, bold, or Instagram-friendly art, you’ll love it.

** for Moco feedback : well, really no reason to visit again as you suggest people come early but I was there like 10:30am which should be not late 🤣🤣 Really recommend you control number of visitors ** It seems famous place you should visit and I can tell it’s nice place but kindly not to expect much as very small place. They also not doing any control of number of visitor so it is really crowds, noisy in small rooms. We got 20% less discount card for ticket so I think it’s fine but if pay full price which not worth at all. Staffs are friendly 🩷

I recently visited the Moco Museum as part of a collaboration, and I was genuinely impressed. The collection is vibrant, inspiring, and thoughtfully curated. From iconic contemporary pieces to unique details throughout the space. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the museum shop offers beautiful books and art-inspired items. Our Lord in the Attic Museum, also known as Ons Heer Lieve op Solder, is a captivating 17th-century canal house located within Amsterdam's Red Light District. The museum offers audio tours that guide visitors through the preserved living spaces from the Dutch Golden Age before leading them to a remarkable secret: a fully functioning Catholic church hidden in the attic.
200% it was fantastic! They direct you through the entire facility with a playback device in your language. It actually works! We went through quite a few churches in the 18 days and this was the best. Be ready for old stairs that are steep and curved. Lots of history and well worth the extra time you will want to spend there.
Sam S — Google review
This was such an unexpectedly amazing museum! I did not know what to think going in, but I was extremely impressed with the thoroughness of this museum! The audio guide is very similar in style and usage as the Anne Frank House guide, but discussed very different topics! I learned a lot about the Dutch history of “Gadowgin” in relation to religious beliefs and culture. I came away from this museum with lots of new knowledge and in awe of the work done in the attic to create such a unique and beautiful chapel! I highly recommend this museum tour to anyone interested in learning more about Dutch history and culture as pertains to religion and tolerance of the Dutch people! You don’t have to buy your tickets in advance, as this museum is not as popular as the Anne Frank House (yet!).
Jacob M — Google review
This place is just wow! Much bigger than I thought, and so beautiful. The whole experience walking through the house and up to the church is just amazing. The only downside is that the written guide doesn’t match the room numbers, so we spent quite a bit of time figuring out which text belonged to which room. This should be updated!
Indíana — Google review
What a brilliant visitor attraction. Loved learning about this fascinating church in the attic. The audio tour was so informative. The staff were really friendly and helpful. A must for anyone visiting Amsterdam.
Paul F — Google review
Beautiful little museum! The building itself is the history you will learn about through the audioguide once you enter. It has such a lovely, cozy charm, I stayed longer than I expected, just looking at the details of the place.
Ji J — Google review
Mrs B had found out about this before we travelled to Amsterdam Amazing historical site with the only intact and restored attic church remaining in the city. We had not booked but easily for tickets on a Sunday afternoon. Not crowded or too busy. Large bags have to left in a secure locker 🔐 The audio guide boxes can be set to many languages and make the sections come alive. Be prepared for steps up and down (the church is in the attic after all!). We learned much about life in these times as well as the attic churches. Fascinating. Highly recommended ✅

Amazing historical preservation and stories around the Catholic Church and the need for communion in the 19th Century. A humble home, with a magnificent alter for worship. Highly recommended visit

I was there earlier today. I spent a week in Amsterdam, had this on my list, but then left it to the last day. The museum was MUCH more interesting than I first thought. It really gives you good insight on the many hidden catholic churches that were around Amsterdam at the time. The attic church is really well-preserved and you also get to see the rest of the house. I recommend.

Verzetsmuseum Amsterdam, also known as the Dutch Resistance Museum, offers a comprehensive look at the WWII Dutch resistance through its collection of photos, films, and artifacts. The museum features a dedicated section for children called the Dutch Resistance Museum Junior, designed to engage young visitors without patronizing them. Established in 1999, the museum's chronological layout takes visitors through different periods of the occupation using personal experiences to narrate the journey.
I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! On top of being incredibly educational and well put together, it is also the most accessible place I have ever been. You get a free device to listen to the films and audio tours in your chosen language (and sign language on the screen), there are raised bumps as guides on the floor if you use a cane, gender neutral toilets, and all the walkways were massive and had ramps, so you could get wheelchairs through really easily. They've clearly thought so hard about making this place accessible for everyone! The staff were also lovely and welcoming, we felt so relaxed and taken care of. Now onto the museum! Obviously a very heavy and still very relevant subject. The way it is presented though, is with hope. This museum highlights the people who were on the right side of history, those who fought and gave their lives for a cause they believed in, and it was so lovely to see them be honoured here. There's also a lot of interactive elements throughout, which helps you engage with the topic. I also loved getting to learn more about Josephine Baker! There's a section where you can scan to listen to one of her songs, and it was very immersive listening to it while reading about her. I think this is my favourite museum of all time, thank you for the experience!
Sophie — Google review
A must-see attraction in Amsterdam for those interested in history and the Second World War. Reserve at least one afternoon to explore the museum, the attractions and exhibited articles because there is a lot of curiosity. A not so obvious attraction in the city but that should not be missing in a good cultural scenario. Amei! Visited this brilliant museum dedicated to the brave, resilient and courageous Dutch people during the Nazi occupation in WW2. It’s on the edge of the city, cafes and bars around for drink or food. Allow at least 2 hours if you want to see and appreciate the true stories being shared. An audio system in various languages is provided with the ticket price, also there are books available for purchase. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Happy to recommend and should we return to Amsterdam would pay another visit. Surprisingly good museum. Had a modern feel to it with a mix of video and interactive stations all supported by an easy to use personal audio device that you can use to scan each station. Larger and more detailed than I was expecting with a couple of additional temporary exhibitions. I would highly recommended a visit, it was less busy than many of the better known museums.this museum is in my opinion an absolute must visit whilst in Amsterdam, especially for those with an interest in WW2. The museum is expansive and highly detailed, and though we spent 3 hours there, we easily could have been there for longer. The staff at the front desk are also very lovely and helpful.
M/s H — Google review
Brilliant museum, and way more to see than I was expecting. It took me over 4 hours, as it covered the Dutch experience of WWII really comprehensively, plus a separate exhibition of the war experience of the Dutch colonies and the struggle for Indonesian independence, and currently a Josephine Baker exhibition. Excellent use of technology, the audio handsets worked really well. The biggest surprise was how good the Junior section is. Aimed primarily at children, but don't assume it will be childish or patronising, and not for adults. Instead it cleverly showed the very different experience 4 different children went through during the war, and wasn't afraid to bring up some painful truths.
Michael C — Google review
Possibly the best museum on our entire trip. I visited with my 11 year old and was sceptical about him wanting to fill in a detailed multi page booklet. He usually rolls his eyes and says that kind of thing is for kids! However. After nearly 4 hours the only reason we left was for food. This museum is amazing. The Junior part with completely interactive journeys of 4 children is totally on the money in terms of accessibility and countering things like "war is cool". It explained the background and daily life really well and the later downstream effects of the war. After the junior part we did the full adult side which with the aid of the audio tour my son loved as he'd got the bar knowledge from the Junior museum. This museum was so good we skipped the museum of French resistance in Paris - it would be hard to beat it. We were first in at 10 on a weekday in the summer holidays and had the place to ourselves for the first 45 minutes or so which was great!
Elizabeth J — Google review
Waw, what a museum!!! Really I regret arriving a bit late and couldn't take the time I needed and wanted to take! Really what a place!!!! Full of objects, letters, people that were extremely important during the resistance! A real history class, try to go in the morning or at 2 as it closes at 5 so you have enough time to see it all! You have the audio included in 5 different languages and in each picture or object, there's an explanation. This museum is in my heart! Don't waste your time going to van gogh, the áudios are 3 euros and it's more expensive and less entertaining. Whereas this one, you leave it waaaaay more aware of the deutsh resistence during WW2!
Juli M — Google review
Moving and powerful museum detailing how the Dutch resistance played out during WW2. The museum details 100s of stories from across the country and it's former colonies to give you a real sense of how the war affected everyone. The museum also does really well in explaining how the war started.

Situated in the eastern part of Amsterdam, near the botanical gardens and other notable attractions, the National Maritime Museum (Het Scheepvaartmuseum) is a captivating destination for those intrigued by ships and Dutch maritime history. Housed in a former storehouse, this interactive museum offers virtual voyages and features a replica 18th-century merchant ship.
One of the best museums illustrating the the Dutch colonial past. Along with a replica of an actual boat, you could explore with an amazing video transposing you back in time, it had artifacts, paintings, tapestries etc all with excellent audio explanations to accompany you. Really great find! Not to be missed when in Amsterdam

It is not just shipbuilding—this is the story of a small yet great and influential nation and the rise of engineering ingenuity. Get the audio guide—it ties the collection together. Many artifacts, paintings, and tools are truly unique. Stepping aboard an authentic historic ship was a lifelong dream, and here it came true. The restored royal barge is a masterpiece.
DNK — Google review
Situated in an impressive looking building this museum has a lot to offer. My favorite part by far was the remade ship at the back. You can walk through all of it and really get a fee for how it was to be in ships from the 17-18th century. Weirdly the rest of the museum felt a bit light on exhibits. Maybe because the building is so huge that I expected more. But it didn’t really give huge insights into Dutch maritime history. At least to me. But there was a lot of good stuff to see nonetheless and worth the visit especially for the ship moored out back.

One of my favorite museums in Amsterdam is a moving experience about Holland's rich maritime history, rooted in nautical science, curiosity, and ambition. To my surprise, the exhibit honestly reflects the history of efforts in global trade over the past hundred years, as well as the oppressions of colonies, demonstrating the national integrity of the Netherlands!

A truly fantastic museum. The magnificent highlight is the replica of a VOC merchant ship. All decks are accessible, providing a striking insight into what an 18th-century sailing ship would have looked like. There's also a small climbing course for children in the hold. The Amsterdam Museum, housed in a former cloister and civic orphanage, offers an immersive journey through the city's history. With interactive exhibitions and a diverse collection of artwork and artifacts including books, ceramics, drawings, paintings, and sculptures, the museum brings to life the transformation of Amsterdam from a swampy settlement to a global mercantile hub. The museum's building itself has a rich history as it was once used as Amsterdam's Civic Orphanage.

The Amsterdam Museum is a nice quick stop if you’re into the city’s history. It’s a pretty small exhibition, but it’s well put together and gives you a good overview. Best move is to get the combo ticket with the HOART Gallery next door—it’s a better deal and makes the visit feel more complete.

The museum showcases the city’s history, culture, and art, offering a comprehensive look at how Amsterdam grew into a global city. Originally part of the Stedelijk Museum when it opened in 1926, it became independent in 1975 and has been known by its current name since 2011. Its exhibitions highlight the city’s identity and development, making it a must-visit for anyone wanting to understand Amsterdam beyond its canals and landmarks.

I really enjoyed this museum! If you want to understand Amsterdam — beyond canals and clichés — this museum is essential. It’s introspective without being preachy, and informative without being overwhelming. A thoughtful, necessary experience.

Congratulations to the Artists, Organizers, Staff, and of course, Founders and Visionaries. Thank you! A lovely but short experience this time. We hope to return again soon :)

this is absolutely the one of the best museums i’ve been to. i’m not a big history person so i wasn’t very excited, but it’s set up beautifully. i appreciate that they focus on things they can improve on instead of just the positives. i 100% recommend this museum and think it’s a must.

This is the former Hermitage Museum. The Amsterdam Hermitage cut ties with the Russian Hermitage in St. Petersburg after Russia invaded Ukraine. The Museum is now known as H'ART. At present it shows an exhibition of the Amsterdam Historisch Museum that is being renovated. An thought provoking exhibition.

Compact and diverse! There is art completely covering the walls, and if you go upstairs you can have a closer look at the ones placed higher up.

BODY WORLDS Amsterdam is an extraordinary anatomy exhibit that showcases preserved human and animal remains in various poses. It offers a captivating and educational journey through the complexities of the human body, shedding light on the impact of happiness on health. With over 200 real human bodies on display, visitors can explore the inner workings of organs, effects of common diseases, and the vulnerability of the human body.
This is a great exhibition! Not only highly educational, impressive, but also makes you reflect. We got the happiness exhibition and loved to learn about the human body and how our mood affects our health. The signs between each room were also great because they invited you to reflect on what you just saw, and the final free body scan was also a very nice plus (because it makes you realize how your. body is doing and what you need to do to improve your overall health).
LIZETTEDRUSILA F — Google review
Very educational. Interesting and impactful. Sometimes a little haunting. The happiness theme was an excellent idea as it really made you consider your own happiness.
Darren S — Google review
Really cool museum! I loved how it connects the human body with the idea of happiness, it makes the whole experience more meaningful. The displays are super interesting (and a bit mind-blowing!) but done in a really respectful way. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Amsterdam and want to see something different!
Neel P — Google review
Amazing! Highly recommend! Especially if you are interested in anatomy. Museum well layed out and plenty of information. You can walk around at your own leisure making it a relaxed environment.
Sandi R — Google review
One of the most unique exhibitions I’ve ever seen. Body Worlds Amsterdam goes beyond anatomy — it shows, using real human bodies, how happiness impacts our physical health. It’s educational, emotional, and just the right amount of dark — perfect for science lovers and curious minds. The theme “The Happiness Project” is beautifully presented, with interactive sections and powerful visuals. I left genuinely reflecting on how our emotions shape our physical well-being. The experience is well-organized, the space is clean, and the staff is super friendly. Highly recommend it for young people, travelers looking for something different, or anyone interested in the connection between mind and body. Tip: Take your time and go with an open mind. This museum gets under your skin — in the best way possible.

So interesting and glad I managed to go this time around in the city :) seeing the posed bodies from Casino Royale was also really cool as that was my introduction to the idea of plastination. I was young and my mum described it as grisly but I really found it fascinating

Incredible museum, great exhibit and great advice on the pursuit of happiness. Free body scan is excellent as well, way better than just weight, contains full analysis. 💪🏻

I was truly surprised by how everything was presented; it was excellent. I highly recommend visiting places like this because they can teach us a lot, for instance, about our own bodies.

The Royal Palace Amsterdam has a rich history, serving as a town hall during the Dutch Golden Age before becoming the residence of the King when in the city. Its architectural design is influenced by ancient Rome and Greece, featuring a traditional exterior and lavishly decorated interior with marble sculptures, reliefs, and ceiling paintings. The palace boasts one of the world's greatest furniture collections and is open to the public for tours when not in official use.
Great experience! The audio tour is great, good timing and flexible. You can go around the halls you want and click on the corresponding tracks in the device you’re given (for free) at the entrance. Many languages included, with exhaustive explanations. Really like the aesthetic and architecture of the palace. Rooms are really cool and there is very interesting history behind it all. Definitely recommend having a visit!

This is a beautiful palace and a must see. The artwork is amazing. I only wish we could have seen more of it. Since its still being used today you only get a little taste. You'll need a few hours to tour through. Get your tickets in advance.

Beautiful art! Astounding craftsmanship! Overall wonderful experience except for demonstrations having sprayed red paint on the outside windows and walls. We thought our tour was canceled but we entered through another entrance on the other side.

My visit to the Royal Palace in Amsterdam was a truly special experience! The palace is stunning inside and reflects history and elegance in every corner. The interior design is magnificent, and the information provided during the tour was both useful and fascinating. I highly recommend visiting it to discover a beautiful part of Dutch history.
Ahab — Google review
The Palace does not look interesting from the outside, but it is such a gem on the inside. There is an audioguide offered, and you can choose the longer or shorter version to listen to, which I think is very convenient (I would suggest the longer version as this place is worth the time). There may be a group of students or tourists getting in at the same time as you are, so make sure to set aside some time for the possibility of waiting in a queue for the wardrobe.
Ji J — Google review
I took a private tour through Viator of the palace. The sculptures are among the best in the world. The symbolism in each piece is astounding. The rooms are beautiful, and every step you take is heavy with history.
Liz 4 — Google review
Located right in the heart of Dam Square, it’s easy to combine with other nearby attractions. The palace isn’t huge, but its grandeur, detailed interiors, and elegant halls make it well worth a visit. An audio guide is included with your ticket and adds great context to the experience. Set aside at least 1–1.5 hours to explore at a relaxed pace. Don’t miss it if you’re in Amsterdam — it’s a stunning glimpse into Dutch royal history and architectural beauty. Originally built in the 17th century as Amsterdam’s City Hall and later transformed into a royal residence, the Royal Palace remains one of the city’s architectural gems. It’s still used for official royal events such as state visits and ceremonies, so some sections may occasionally be closed to the public.

The place was massive, well maintained well and beautiful. The view from every angle are unique and bring my imagination to how they live few centuries ago. Saddly didn't have time and stamina to walk and explore all corners of it. Definitely worth a visit on beautiful day.

The Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam is a contemporary art and design museum that was established in 1874. It boasts an extensive collection of over 90,000 works spanning from the 19th to the 21st century, featuring movements such as Bauhaus, Pop-Art, De Stijl, Colorfield, Neo-Impressionism and Minimalism.
If you are not really use to modern and contemporary art, take a deep breath, and step inside. Start slowly in the entrance with some sculptures a zebra and kick off your visit with a nice cappuccino from the cafeteria. We loved it in the end. Make it a journey and sit down relax and enjoy the ride.

This is a must-visit stop. It is very well organized, and you can download an app to learn more about some of the pieces. You will probably need half a day or more to visit this museum. One staff member asked me to hang up my phone call while waiting in line before getting into the museum. No sign prohibited cell phone use, and I was not even talking. Training for staff and/or signs about policies can improve the experience.
SM — Google review
An interesting museum. Many exhibits in different styles. They also explore various themes, but most often they focus on war, race and self-identity... which creates a sense of a lack of substance and a reluctance to express an opinion that isn't "popular." That's why I'm giving it only four stars.
Dnkminus — Google review
One of my favorite contemporary art museums so far! Vast collection. Needs few good hours to fully enjoy. This time they had Erwin Olaf retrospective. Totally recommended

My visit to the Stedelijk Museum was truly wonderful! The museum is well-organized and beautiful, featuring an amazing collection of modern and contemporary artworks. I really enjoyed the calm atmosphere and the way the paintings and designs were displayed. I highly recommend visiting it when in Amsterdam!
Ahab — Google review
Very popular museum but not too crowded as the rooms are spacious. The ladies at the front counter are really lovely and helpful (I went two separate days so it wasn’t just pot luck) and this is a nice change to the usual jaded front of house folk at busy museums of Europe. It is a well laid out museum (get a map on arrival) and you can either follow chronologically by decades (which is very good curation) or just wander the rooms at random. Lockers are available, charging ports for your phone in the foyer, at the cafe, and the audio guide to the art works is a good complement to the info on the walls - hold the free audio device to a symbol on the wall and it plays immediately. Excellent emphasis on artists of the Netherlands so if you are from o.s. it’s a refreshing angle on well known art movements. A LOT of male artists’ works are presented which is not the museum’s “fault” but it gets frustrating if you know anything about women artists. However, the works presented by women artists are very good. A minor point: they insist you buy a ticket online even if you’re standing at the front counter and not everyone can do this if you are coming from overseas and have any kind of problems with the credit card purchase of a ticket online. It makes for a bit of a clunky start to your visit and you can tell that the friendly ladies at the counter have been told by management that this is ‘the system’. I wish over the counter ticket sales was something they welcomed. It is great they offer same-day re-entry unlike a lot of other museums.
Kazz C — Google review
The Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam is a true contemporary art museum — a place where you can see works ranging from early 20th-century masters to artists who are alive and creating today. Both the permanent collection and the temporary exhibitions are absolutely worth seeing. The museum features many works connected to De Stijl, Constructivism, and Suprematism. I still can’t forget the feeling of awe when I saw Chagall’s originals there for the first time — the works of a fellow Belarusian. I literally got goosebumps in that moment. I usually visit this museum about twice a year — sometimes to revisit the permanent collection, and sometimes to explore new exhibitions. They curate excellent shows. I saw the exhibition by Miriam Cahn, an Israeli artist reflecting on the wars in Israel and Ukraine — perfectly in tune with the current need to reinterpret world events through art. I also attended the Marina Abramović performance retrospective — absolutely breathtaking — and the Anselm Kiefer exhibition, which was the most impressive show I’ve seen in 2025. I highly recommend both the permanent collection and the rotating exhibitions held several times a year, you’ll find true gems there.

Located in the heart of Amsterdam, Micropia is a unique and contemporary museum that offers interactive and educational exhibits on the world of microorganisms. It provides hands-on experiences, microscopes for observation, and intriguing facts about the abundance of living organisms on everyday objects. The museum showcases glass models and information on various viruses, aiming to reshape visitors' perspectives on microscopic entities. Visitors can engage with laboratory experts and explore the unseen realm of bacteria, molds, and other invisible organisms.
wow wow wow! This museum is a great, immersive experience. Very factual in a way that’s easy to understand if science isn’t really your thing. Lots of great activities that’ll get kids involved - which are also good for adults! I was lucky enough to arrive at a time were one of the scientists were giving a talk about the weekly bacteria.

Sarah B — Google review
Interesting museum about all the little things in life. Felt like I was back at school for a couple of hours (in a good way!) learning about microbes and the environments they live within. There are also plenty of other cool things to see in the ARTIS area worth while making a day out of it.
Bradley C — Google review
Micropia was one of the best places we visited whilst in Amsterdam, it’s a small museum but absolutely packed with information! My husband and I (28&29yrs) spent about 2 hours here and both felt like kids on a school trip, we really had fun and both loved collecting the Microbe stamps from around the museum. It wasn’t busy at all so we could really take our time to read everything and explore all the interactive elements.
Euro T — Google review
I had an amazing experience at Micropia. If you have the opportunity to go you definitely should. The staff are so kind and knowledgeable about the lab here. There is a lot to learn but it’s not too overwhelming and easy to navigate through the two floors. It took me probably about an hour to get through the exhibits I would say 1-2 hours is a good amount of time to get through everything. There was a lecture by a student who worked in the lab and she was very well spoken and knew a lot about her work. I was happy to see people get so excited about microbes. The gift shop is small but cute and there is something for everyone. There is also a lot of interactive parts of the museum from stamps, to curing Peter of his mystery disease, to moving the actual microscopes around. It’s super fun and for all ages.
Lizzy M — Google review
Another Amsterdam hit for me. Short sharp facts. Microscopes to look through. A real lab at the back to observe. Friendly staff. And ink stamps to collect! You'll never look at a beard thr same way again. Some rather creative wall art at the end. Price a bit steep, €17.50 for an adult. Fine on my own...but a family outing 🤔.
Samantha H — Google review
The exhibits were creative, interactive, and surprisingly beautiful and it made science come alive in the best way. One of my favorite parts was the microbe “stamping” activity, collecting stamps for every microbe I learned about felt like an extreme sport for science lovers. I left feeling amazed, educated, and just a little more obsessed with the microbial universe!
Bhashitha A — Google review
Verdict: Amazing! We had such a great time and two hours flew by without us noticing! Get ready to get really close and personal to the images of the microorganisms inside of you and all around. Of course you’re currently as close to them as you could possibly be. 😂 There is a stamp-collecting game that was fun as well, and ended with an interactive discovery mission. My son wants to back already. My daughter opted out of smelling the decomposing trash. Oh yeah, you can do that too! Overall, 10 out of 10 recommend!

I recently visited Ripley‘s with my wife and daughter, and it was a hit! My daughter was all giggles and truly had a wonderful time. We spent a good hour there and she enjoyed every minute. That was a true fun experience for us as a family with a 5 year old and friends. The space is very big and full of interesting stuff. Everyone will find something interesting and fun! It was very busy so maybe don’t go on a weekend. Not too bad but maybe more enjoyable on a weekday. It is definitely a place I would go back to. I know it’s in other countries but from other photos, they don’t seem the same or this elaborate. No research though.

This place is full of unusual, surprising, and historically interesting things! If you have an open mind, you might believe some of it — or not — but you will definitely learn something new. The museum is quite large, and I actually found it much more interesting than Madame Tussauds. It’s great to combine both attractions if you have time, but this museum really stands out. The way they curated and presented his collection is fantastic. A truly unique experience!

A fun way to pass time - great for adults but probably even better for a younger audience. I wouldn’t say it’s a must-visit but if you have a couple of hours free time then go for it. There is a section with some grosser/scary parts but if you want to skip it they give you a shortcut.

As you soar through a breathtaking 9-minute film, you'll feel as if you're gliding over picturesque scenery, enhanced by wind and water effects that add to the realism.
THIS IS HOLLAND is an amazing and immersive experience that lets you see the beauty of the Netherlands from the sky. The highlight is the 5D flying experience, where you virtually soar over tulip fields, windmills, canals, and iconic Dutch landmarks. The visuals, scents, and movements make it feel incredibly real! The staff are welcoming and the organization is excellent. It’s a must-visit attraction for anyone who wants to experience the essence of Holland in a fun and memorable way.

Very interesting place to visit. The flight is the best thing in the tour, it looks like real, showing fantastic places and telling amazing story about this amazing country. I recommend to book online and go there 15 minutes before your appointment. You will start with taking pictures that you need to check them out at the end of the tour in order to decide whether to pay and get them or no, for us it’s not worth because it wasn’t captured and designed accurately. Then will start the tour through 3 steps and the last one in the flight. Very good experience. Reasonable prices. Good service. I recommend.

Fantastic experience where all senses are put in play. That must be how flying really is. And exciting knowledge about the Netherlands and the importance of water for the country - on both good and bad. Can definitely be recommended. Absolutely fabulous I didn’t know about it. A friend who lives in New Zealand. X Dutchy said don’t miss it. I couldn’t believe nobody even mentioned it . not the travel agent. No one it is a must do! It gives you an insight into the whole history of the Netherlands in such a short time it is extremely well done Extremely well priced. it’s a free ferry ride across the water by the train station. We had lunch at the big building next to it which was fabulous but I honestly feel it’s a must do before you do anything else in Amsterdam. I am 68. It’s not just for kids. It’s just fabulous!

This is Holland was absolutely amazing and worth every minute! The flight experience was breathtaking — it truly feels like you’re flying over the Netherlands. The visuals are stunning, the movements perfectly synced, and the overall feeling is magical. You get to see the beauty of Holland from a completely new perspective — from the tulip fields to the windmills and canals, everything looks incredible. The staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and professional. They made the whole visit smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. Their energy really adds to the experience! It’s not just a fun attraction, it’s emotional and inspiring — you leave feeling connected to the country in a unique way. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam, whether it’s your first time or your tenth. Truly one of the highlights of our trip! ✨

This is a great place to see and learn a little about Holland. The ride is fantastic and about 10 minutes or more long. We made it there when it first opened and there was only 1 other couple there so we had somewhat of a Vip experience. Definitely should experience This is Holland while visiting Amsterdam.
Harold T — Google review
During our trip to Amsterdam, we visited "This is Holland," and it was a truly great experience. The attraction gives a fascinating overview of Dutch history, culture, and geography in a way that’s both educational and entertaining. The highlight for us was definitely the 5D/8D flying theater experience — it felt like we were literally flying over the Netherlands. The cinema experience was incredibly immersive. With moving seats, wind effects, scents, and panoramic visuals, it gave us the sensation of soaring above tulip fields, windmills, canals, and coastlines. It’s a short ride, but very powerful and impressive. Everyone in our group loved it and talked about it afterward. Before the flight, there are a couple of brief but interesting presentations about the history and development of the Netherlands, including how much of the land was reclaimed from the sea. The storytelling is clear and accessible, and the staff were very welcoming. The attraction is well-organized, clean, and suitable for all ages. It’s a great activity to do with friends or family, especially on a rainy day. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam who wants to understand more about the country in a fun and unforgettable way.

Great experience brilliant 360 views over Amsterdam on a clear spring day where stunning. Enjoyed the highest swing in Europe over the edge of the building. The VR rollercoaster “ride” gave a real sense of speed, height and movement really enjoyable experience.
Jones J — Google review
If I could sum up my seven-day, six-night holiday in Amsterdam in a single standout experience, THIS IS HOLLAND would be right at the top. This attraction doesn’t just entertain—it enlightens. Through its immersive storytelling and exhibits, it gives visitors a deeper understanding of what the Netherlands is truly about—its landscapes, its heritage, and its spirit. The crown jewel of the visit is, without question, the spectacular 5D flight simulator. Imagine soaring over tulip fields, skimming past windmills, gliding along the coastline, and swooping through the heart of Amsterdam—all with the wind in your face, the scent of the sea in the air, and the feeling that you’re genuinely flying. The experience is both exhilarating and awe-inspiring, and judging by the delighted reactions around me, I wasn’t the only one swept away. As a bonus, THIS IS HOLLAND is included in the iAmsterdam City Card, making it even more of a no-brainer for first-time visitors. Whether you have a deep love for Dutch culture or are simply curious, this is a must-visit that will stay with you long after you’ve left.

Red Light Secrets Museum, located in the heart of Amsterdam's Red Light District, offers a unique and insightful look into the world's oldest profession. Housed in a former brothel, this museum provides visitors with an immersive experience, delving into the history and realities of sex work in the city. Through interactive exhibits and personal accounts, guests can gain a deeper understanding of the neighborhood's past, real stories of working women, and the behind-the-scenes aspects of prostitution.
World's first museum of prostitution! They have a little recorder thing that can be used for multiple languages, and you scan the codes throughout the museum to hear more information which is really interesting. The rooms are set up as how they would have been, so it can feel like a real experience. It's very informative and i learnt things i wouldn't anywhere else!

This old brothel turned museum caught me by surprise! Very authentic, immersive and informative. Walking through one of the oldest brothels in Amsterdam was quite an experience. A thoughtfully well done addition to the red light district.

LOVED THIS MUESEUM EXPERIENCE! I planned to go to this museum after our canal tour to prepare us for what was coming next. . . And it really did. We got to learn all about Amsterdam's famous right light district before seeing it for ourselves. I had a lot more knowledge, and honestly more respect for the hustle. They teach you all about how much this line of work is regulated and how health & safety is everyone's top priority.
Shoshana A — Google review
Probably the only one of its kind in the world, the Red Light Secrets Museum is located in De Wanne and is definitely worth a visit. The museum is relatively small but it is actually one of the first houses where prostitution began in the area! The stories are wonderful and narrated by one of the pioneers “Enga” in the business for more than 16yrs (she is not physically present ;)). They have an audio device that will help you understand every aspect of the RLD, a very interesting and engaging Quiz and probably everyone’s favourite the confession wall! This also happens to be the only place in RLD where photographs are allowed. Pro-tip: choose this one as the last activity of the day as it’s open till late.
Pavan P — Google review
Surprisingly insightful and worth a visit! Let’s get this out of the way first: a lot of people complain that the museum is small, overpriced, and not that interesting but I feel like they’re not really thinking it through. Do they realize how much rent costs in this area? And honestly, what were they expecting to see real sex workers? It’s a niche subject, and in my opinion, the museum shows as much as it possibly can. With the audio guide, it’s actually very engaging full of facts and stories. There’s also plenty of written info, so as long as you can read and understand English, you’ll find it informative. I especially liked the “My Erotic Secret” board creative and full of honest, intimate stories. The only thing I’d improve is the gift shop it could use more fun and cheeky souvenirs. All in all, a unique and well-thought-out experience. Definitely worth a visit if you’re curious about this world beyond the clichés.
Lizaveta K — Google review
Really interesting and informative place! We wanted to learn a little about the red light district whilst in Amsterdam, and this museum showed the cool parts but also the dark realities. It’s interactive, you get to read and hear from real prostitutes’ experiences, and there’s a lot to look at. It’s quite small, but that’s because it’s in a Dutch house that used to be a red light house.

Heritage building
The Oude Kerk, also known as the Old Church, is a 13th-century building located in the heart of Amsterdam's Red Light District. Despite its location, it offers visitors enchanting narrow cobbled streets and medieval architecture. This historic church features the largest medieval wooden vault in Europe, impressive stained glass windows, and over 2,500 graves including that of Rembrandt's wife.
Consecrated in 1306, the church is the oldest building in Amsterdam. Originally a Catholic church dedicated to Saint Nicholas, it transitioned to Protestant worship in 1578 during the Iconoclasm. Built in Gothic style, it was a focal point during Amsterdam’s 17th-century Golden Age. Today, it functions both as a historic Protestant church and a venue for contemporary art exhibitions.

It’s a beautiful and historic church that is the oldest in Amsterdam. There was no line to enter and I only saw a few other people while I was there. I was most impressed by the organ and ceiling decoration. There is also some nice artwork on the walls. You really get a sense of the history of the place by noticing all the important people buried beneath the ground you walk on. I definitely recommend seeing this important place in the history of Amsterdam.
Andrew — Google review
Very glad we went! Big, old, beautiful structure that has had a tumultuous religious history and which is now used for concerts due to its voluminous acoustics. You can see where some defaced catholic paintings have been reaurfaced and restored. And, most of the floor tiles are grave markers for those buried inside the church! What a fascinating place right in the heart of the Red Light District!
Brian B — Google review
This is the most rip off church I’ve ever visited. The church charged €13.5/pp entrance fee but it’s really disappointing what you see inside, it’s just not worth it. You’ll get to see other more beautiful and spectacular churches nearby regions (Antwerp, Ghent etc) at a much cheaper fee or even free entrance, for instance : 1. Sint-Lauren’s Church in Rotterdam:€4 2. Delft- Oude Kerk and Nieuwe Kerk:€9.5 for both churches, 3. Sint-Bavo’s Cathedral in Ghent : € free 4. Saint-Nicholas in Ghent: €free 5. Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp: €12 , this is probably one of the most beautiful church I ever visited.
AB C — Google review
Such a special, one-of-a-kind experience. The city’s oldest surviving building (13th century) with a great self-guided audio tour and rotating art installations that keep it fresh and inspiring. My sister and I were spooked when we realized we were walking on gravestones, so we tried to hop around to not do so… and then realized the entire floor is gravestones. 😅 The space is stunning — breathing in there feels sacred and otherworldy. I didn’t get to do the tower tour which was a bummer, so check the dates available, but I’ll definitely be back. *Visited in July on Monday, no wait times — and don’t miss the cozy café right next door!

The most ancient building in this incredible city. A severe, exquisite Protestant Church. Here lies beautiful Saskia, Rembrandt’s wife, model & Muse.
Giulia * — Google review
An old church where many were buried. You can see from the engraving on the tile floor. It is also renowned for the organ in the church. Several paintings on the ceiling can be seen as they are the testimony of itself was once a catholic church.

Beautiful old church with a wonderful organ and some interesting carvings. The art exhibit there during our visit was not for me or anyone in our group.

The Amsterdam Tulip Museum, located near the Anne Frank Museum, offers a modest yet insightful look into the history and cultural significance of tulips in Dutch society. Visitors can explore photographic displays showcasing the diverse range of tulip species and delve into the intriguing history of tulip mania. The museum also provides a glimpse into the meticulous process of cultivating tulips. Additionally, guests have the opportunity to purchase tulip-themed souvenirs and bulbs from the on-site gift shop.
Visiting this museum was a delightful and immersive experience. The exhibits beautifully showcase the history and cultural significance of tulips, with engaging displays and fascinating stories. The atmosphere is bright and inviting, and staff are friendly and helpful, making the visit even more enjoyable. Informative panels explain cultivation, trade, and symbolism in a clear, interesting way. A charming and educational stop well worth the visit.

The Amsterdam Tulip Museum is a charming little stop if you're curious about the history of tulips in the Netherlands. The self-guided tour is informative and nicely laid out, offering a glimpse into how tulips became such an iconic part of Dutch culture. At the end of the visit, there's a small shop where you can buy flower bulbs, not just tulips, but other varieties too. It's a nice touch if you're looking for a unique souvenir or a gift for a plant lover.
Sergio O — Google review
We only visited the shop. Lovely selection of gifts and tulips to bring home. We bought a bag of tulips to take home and they tell you when to plant it and how to take care of it. It was very busy here when we arrived, it was almost unbearable to walk around here so a cap on the amount of people allowed inside would be very nice and make the experience more pleasant.
Gabija — Google review
The little museum in the basement has some interesting info on the history of tulips. It's worth visiting, especially you enjoy flower history. The store on the main floor always seems to be super busy, at least the times I visited. They have great tulip bulbs certified for transport to the US and Canada and better prices than the bulbs I found in the flower market.
Gina — Google review
Worth a visit and not that expensive. The exhibition is quite small, but well thought and interesting, mainly from the historical perspective. Just please, turn off the annoying double bass guy singing about the tulip mania. Obviously, you can also buy flower bulbs there.
Michał B — Google review
Beautiful, clever, and amusing too. I loved the variety of interactive and immersive elements, artifacts, and artful presentation. Well worth the price of admission.
Tonia H — Google review
Beautiful museum with an ingenious use of space. The front has a gift shop and you can buy an affordable ticket to the museum which is downstairs (including one room on the same level). What you get is a potted history of the tulip flower, was fascinated to learn the word is Persian in origin (Dulband) which is Tülbend (Turban) in Turkish which became Tulip when Latinized! The museum has two amazing installations, never seen anything so good in any other museum and loved the fact it is compact as most museums are exhausting to walk through. The Ottoman artwork is so lovely and love the music in the first video you can view, sounds very much like Umm Kulthum! One of the nicest locations in Amsterdam and staff are nice.
Fatimah J — Google review
Gift shop is free to enter, museum is €7 for adults We didnt enter the museum portion but there were so many beautiful Tulip themed gifts at the gift shop. There are also bulbs you can buy, comes with a certificate for customs purposes

The Torture Museum in Amsterdam is a chilling collection of over 40 instruments used for inflicting pain during the Middle Ages. Visitors can explore various brutal tools such as the guillotine, hanging cage, Inquisition chair, thumb screws, iron maiden, and skull crusher. This museum offers a unique and sometimes shocking look at the history of punishment and torture methods throughout the ages.
It was totally amazing. At first, I felt spooky since I'd seen one kind of torture instrument. But as I was going through the room, so interesting and even highly educational for medical European era. I highly recommend you to visit here. You can even take the student discount.

The displays were great. It was quiet and you had ample time to see everything. There were some really great displays, as well. But some of them were, at best inaccurate. It would have been great to see some history of the displays that were genuine pieces of history.

Very small, but still fun to see. We enjoyed reading the plaques and seeing all of the exhibits. It only took us 30 minutes to walk through but we still thought it was worth the price of admission. I think that this would have been more fun with a tour guide or an audio tour.

The WONDR Experience is a must-see tourist attraction that features surreal and colorful rooms created by artists. Open daily, it offers photo opportunities galore and is modern and creatively designed. Leading up to the day had great assistance from Vincent, who was very friendly and accommodating. The only downside was when other visitors took pics we had to wait until they were finished. The museum was quiet that day, so it wasn't too frustrating.
What an incredible experience! There was so much to see and it was all very beautifully creatively made. The staff were really nice too! One of the employees kept asking to take pictures of the two of us and he made very loving photos along the way. The food is very delicious as well! Not overly sweet, which was surprising for me consider having a milkshake and cake. Overal, if you love taking pictures, then this is definitely the place to do so! 🩷
Tayce G — Google review
This was such a cute experience. We came straight off the airplane, and the lockers were clutch — we dropped our bags and explored freely. It’s not your typical photo museum. Each room has something different and unique, including one where you can get inside a claw machine and look like you’re the prize in the photo. I thought that was adorable. Some rooms have professional photo setups, others you can take yourself, and staff are there to show you poses and help you get good shots. The backdrops were beautiful. We stayed about an hour to an hour and a half. It’s adult- and kid-friendly — the kid Barbie section is extra — and they even have a bar for adults. My favorite stops were the karaoke room and the silent-disco-style with wheel. Tickets are timed, so I recommend buying ahead. It was about $30 USD, and definitely worth it. The SpongeBob section was the cherry on top — you even get a Bikini Bottom ID sticker like you earned your license. I felt like I was driving with SpongeBob, even though we all know he could never get that license. Super cute thing to do in Amsterdam — would recommend.

I took my bestie to a surprise birthday celebration at the Barbie Exhibition, it was so much fun! We took lots of photos, laughed, and felt like we were five again, enjoying being real-life Barbies. Definitely recommend! I planned our outfits in advance (there are lockers), so grab your outfit, get your ticket, and unlock your inner Barbie. Now we’re excited to check out the other Wonder shows!

It gives you the ultimate Barbie feeling! When you walk in the pink rooms you almost think you’re a Barbie doll. The rooms are magical and the staff is so nice. When we had lunch in the beautiful Barbie restaurant a really nice girl Bruna helped us. The food was great. Overall a must do on your bucket list!! 🩷🩷🩷

The WONDR Experience in Amsterdam was amazing. Every room was colorful, creative, and full of fun interactive spots, perfect for photos. It’s a must-visit for anyone who loves art, color, and playful experiences (especially the Bikini Bottom area, a must-see for SpongeBob fans🧽) 🧸🛝
Athina K — Google review
Great experience however a bit awkward to get to! I’d recommend maybe hiring bikes to get there from the ferry unless you’d prefer taxi in the colder months. The experience itself was great once we had worked out with the staff how to get the photos working in the experience! We all loved the SpongeBob area and definitely recommend visiting whilst this feature is available. Overall it was a fun time, although in hindsight I may have stopped in the cafe if I’d realised how far out it was🤦🏻‍♂️
Rhys B — Google review
So much fun! Came for Spongebob but ended up loving every room. Lots of picture opportunities and just belly laughs. All the staff were great offering to take pictures. Steph especially gets a big shout out!

We took the free ferry from Amsterdam Central Station to Amsterdam North—just a 5-minute ride. From there, it was about a 10–15 minute walk to the venue. We arrived early and were lucky: not many people were there yet, so we could explore the rooms calmly and take our time. We had booked our tickets online two weeks in advance and spent about an hour inside. It was truly a wonderful experience—creative, surprising, and full of little moments of joy. You feel like a child again, eyes wide open, curious and delighted. We all had a great time and would definitely recommend it!

Absolutely fantastic place! One of the best and fun experiences ever! Absolutely loved it. Spent hours in there! Just make sure you immerse yourself in everything and have FUN! The staff were SO helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They were on hand to take photos for us without even being asked. They genuinely loved their job. You go in at an allocated time in groups so it never feels crowded which means you can enjoy every section and take as many photos as you wish. We took LOTS!!! Photos are taken for you by cameras as you go round and you can download them for free at the end which is brilliant. We got two print offs for free too! Highly recommend! I haven’t put many photos on so you can experience everything yourself! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Great fun! At moments not very clear to work out where to go, but we managed to explore all of the rooms-some great photos we wouldn't be able to take anywhere else! Could take a little bit longer in some rooms for some groups to move if you want photos without others in. QR comes are very handy-they take your photos for you and you can download them after. Very nice cafe staff.

Visited this museum yesterday (11/08) We were only in Amsterdam for the day. A quick train journey from Central station gets you about 300M from the venue. This fun & modern museum is great for all ages. My children loved all the photos you can take for this TikTok/insta generation. Also you can scan your ticket throughout the museum in most areas and a picture will be taken in the that room, the pictures are downloadable for free or you can print copies inside for a cost. We didn’t really read the description of each room, just dived straight in however each room has a story behind it. It’s cool, vibrant and visually pleasing. You will take over 50 photos in here guaranteed. Lots of staff who are helpful also free lockers at the entrance to store bags/coats etc. Also you can get free smoothies on the way out if you scan a QR code and leave a review. I think we were almost an hour in here, but I’d say most people might stay slightly longer. Definitely worth a visit when in Amsterdam

Fabrique des Lumières offers a unique and immersive art experience with a perfect blend of video and audio that brings art to life. The spacious hall allows visitors to choose their preferred viewing spot, and time slots ensure a comfortable experience. While it's recommended to make reservations, the show is suitable for the whole family, although it may be overwhelming for younger children. The main exhibition features videos about Dali and Gaudi accompanied by fitting music, providing an extraordinary experience.
A truly amazing experience! Area was very spacious with plenty of places to view the digital art without feeling crowded. We found standing on the viewing platform great because you could see central displays, walls and floor, completely immersing yourself in the digital art. We booked the Dutch Masters Experience in advance then on our way out decided to go back in and pay on arrival for The Sea Experience.

I’m usually not a fan of traditional museums, but this one was truly magical. The combination of music and technology bringing the paintings to life creates an experience that completely transports you — calming, mesmerizing, and deeply moving. Especially the music — it elevates everything, making you feel as if you’re part of the art itself. It’s honestly one of the most beautiful and unique museums I’ve ever visited. I couldn’t recommend it more highly.
Thekla O — Google review
This experience was surreal and blew me away. I’m not much of an art person, but the way the lights change and flow create a beautiful story. The music/sound paired with the changing images made me feel like I was in the story of the paintings. There are lockers available free of charge which is a big plus. I’d highly recommend this experience!!

A wonderful unique experience. The projections are enchanting and mesmerizing. You really get immersed into the story and as it plays you can walk around. When you are tired from walking around Amsterdam then why not just take a boat tour. This tour is quite nice as they have so many languages to choose from and we were quite surprised that there is Thai language too. Our boat has the glass roof which is quite nice when it’s cold outside. The window can be open if you feel too warm. To be honest, I would recommend to go with open air boat if it’s nice weather and not too cold. The audio guide will explain you each highlight spot which is quite good + on the table is the map so you know where is it located or at least you know where you are. At some point, it could become boring as you just sit inside the boat. Anyway, our boat rider is quite funny and sarcastic which make us don’t feel so sleepy.

Step into the dark and thrilling world of Amsterdam Dungeon, a part of a global chain that offers a theatrical and gore-filled experience delving into the city's gruesome history. Not suitable for young children or the faint-hearted, this attraction features twelve interactive shows with live actors, special effects, and storytelling that brings to life ancient torture methods, witch trials, and local legends.
Information before the fun stuff, the address given takes you to a door that then tells you to go around the building a bit more and yes. For us, we got sent to a random bar, and then we had to refind the address and use that lol. No photos allowed during the tour, but it was good, you get truly engulfed into the stories. Oh this was nice, informational, fun, interactive, funny and scary (if you get spooked easily) they pick people within the small groups to have you act out stuff, and there's signs and such for the chosen ones to do to make the storyline better. The actors were amazing, the group i had within it was fun, and i was chosen by my cousin as a woman who was accused to witchcraft, and needed to be burned at the stake. There were signs and such to tell me to scream and act like i was being burned alive to make the story more alive. Afterwards, i got a little fun paper, and the actor told me i did amazing and to go ahead and rejoin the group. Anywayz overall, great experience.
Faith R — Google review
Had a great time at Amsterdam Dungeons! The whole experience was fun, interactive, and really well put together. I got picked to play the witch at the end and was chosen for another scene too, which made it even more memorable. The actors were brilliant, and the price felt fair for what you get. Definitely recommend it if you're in Amsterdam!
Jatin K — Google review
Amazing experience. You can tell the actors r very passionate about what they're doing and overall the experience was really fun. My fav part has to be at the last story, won't spoil but the way it was, was so realistic you'd think u were actually in a horror movie
Nirvesh S — Google review
A really fun experience, all the live actors were fantastic and fitted there roles well. Really good value for the price would definitely recommend a visit. My only complaint would be it did feel the group was too big and not enough sits for a few of the acts felt cramped in places.

We had such an amazing time at Dungeon Amsterdam! The whole experience was a perfect mix of scary, funny, and surprising. We got genuinely spooked at times, laughed a ton, and were totally amazed by the actors and the atmosphere. The storytelling, sets, and jump scares were all so well done. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something fun and different to do in Amsterdam!
Eman A — Google review
Expectations were high after visiting the more developed London Dungeon, but the Dutch sibling does not disappoint! This was a super fun and thrilling visit, very well organized and properly funny. Small groups enter every 15 minutes, and the tour itself takes about an hour. You move from room to room, learning about some local stories and greeted by actors who aren't shy about scaring and taunting you. It was a blast!
Miri K — Google review
Great for the first time visitors across all Dungeons as it provides some unique eerie theatrical experience. However I would point out that most rooms and stories are nearly the same across many locations (e.g London) so you have been to one in London or Edinburgh, then you won’t find many new stories here. One thing I didn’t enjoy is rude behavior of a host (introduced himself as a Portuguese) who meet the guests outside. He literally asked us to wait for our turn to speak with him. It may have been a theatrical experience, but it didn’t sound that way as he didn’t speak like that anymore neither before or after.
Art — Google review
A very intriguing and funny experience. Really loved the actors and their improvisational skills that made the whole experience feel tailored to each group. Also loved the environment. The only reason I put 4 stars instead of 5 is the prices. The gift shop is expensive and the photos they take are too mediocre for 25€. Even if you like 1 picture it's 17€ when the whole bundle is 25€ for all 19 of them. It just doesnt make sense when the bundle for madam Tusseud's and Dungeon is 29€.

The enclosures were clean and spacious, and it was clear the animals are well cared for. The staff were friendly and happy to answer questions, and there were plenty of spots to rest, grab a snack, or take great photos. Highlights include the aquarium, planetarium, and butterfly pavilion. The peaceful atmosphere and lush greenery make it feel more like a park than a typical zoo. A perfect spot for a relaxing, educational day out. Definitely worth a visit

Very interesting place to visit with guide. Not only the animals but also the flowers, herbs and trees are worth seeing. We have a wonderful time in relaxing atmosphere in the walking paths and exciting moments in acrowdy palces along animals. I highly recommend

I could have spent all day watching the elephants playing with their ball, or the otters posting for photos, or walking around with butterflies landing on me. Really big and interesting zoo! (Tickets are cheaper to buy online in advance)
Sineá T — Google review
I bought my tickets online through booking.com and entered the zoo with no wait. ARTIS is a phenomenal zoo. The grounds and enclosures are tasteful, pretty and humane. The grounds feel like walking through a park rather than a zoo, and have plenty of quiet places to sit and rest. Highly recommend
Daniel F — Google review
A large zoo with a wide variety of animals and plenty to see and explore! The planetarium was a fun bonus and added something unique to the visit. There are vegan food options available, though a bit on the pricey side. Some enclosures could definitely be improved, especially for the crocodiles, who seemed to have very limited space. Overall, it was a fun and enjoyable day. Great for visiting with friends or family.
Maria M — Google review
We really liked the zoo. We went with kids 5 and 1.5 years old, and it was a very good experience. It is expensive, yes. But if you plan on making a full day plan out of it, it's worth it. I'd say at least 3 hours, otherwise not worth the money. It has A LOT of animals, also a few small playgrounds, a cafeteria and a couple of small snack huts. Food is not bad but nor very good either, expensive as expected. You might want to bring snacks and sandwiches, and maybe just get a little something extra there, although if you don't, you can get everything there. Super stroller friendly, and they even have like small "carts" to take your kids, probably 1-5 years old. You just need to deposit a 2 euro coin and at the end they give it back.

The Rembrandt House Museum is a restored 17th-century house where the iconic artist lived and worked for 20 years. It offers visitors a comprehensive look into his life, featuring a complete collection of his etchings and collectibles that influenced his work. The museum also includes reconstructions of Rembrandt's living area and workspace, providing an immersive experience that transports visitors back to the 17th century.
A fascinating and intimate glimpse into the life of one of history’s greatest artists. The Rembrandt House Museum is beautifully restored, allowing visitors to walk through the actual home and studio where Rembrandt lived and worked. The rooms are authentically furnished, and the etching and paint-making demonstrations bring the experience to life. It’s a perfect mix of history, art, and atmosphere. Well-curated, engaging, and not overcrowded — a must-visit for anyone interested in art or Dutch history. Quietly powerful and deeply inspiring.

A very atmospheric and inspiring museum. The exhibition delights with its content - sketches, drawings, and works by Rembrandt give a vivid sense of his creative process and let you step into his world as if through the eyes of the artist. The whole place feels quiet, thoughtful, and harmonious. A wonderful spot for anyone wishing to connect with art and experience Rembrandt not only as a great master but also as a living person.
Анна П — Google review
Well worth a couple hours. So interesting to see the tools he used, where and how he lived and how he honed his craft. Everyone gets an audio guide which is easy (ish) to navigate. You can’t bring a purse or backpack through but they offer free lockable lockers. You won’t want the bag anyhow, it’s those narrow stairs again 😝 Go watch the etching demonstration- very cool.
Nikki J — Google review
This is a great place to visit not only for Rembrandt’s fans. Audio guide make it a very pleasent experience - it goes very smoothly. You can see how Rembrandt lived and worked and learned about the Society of his times; also see some nice paintings (but not by the Master himself). The nicest part is where you can sit in an actual place where Rembrandt’s pupils were learning how to paint and seriously feel like one of them by „pretending” to paint. I spent a great time here!!! There is also a contemporary exhibition which makes the whole experience a more complex one - you can appreciate Art in its broader sense, which always is great!
Radosław K — Google review
This is a gem of a place to visit while you're visiting Amsterdam, it's a very personal look into Rembrandt's life, home and work. There is an audio guide upon entry and I have to say I was so pleasantly surprised to have such an incredible experience here. I was able to mix paint at the demonstration, see where he taught students in his home and see his personal collection of books, busts, art and other items he collected in his lifetime. It is an amazing display of his home and how he lived. If you love art this is a great place to visit.

As a painter, it was a precious moment to be in Rambrandt's house and see where he painted his masterpieces! The staff explained the printing process with such passion! Truly special.
Cedric G — Google review
The audio guide is good so you can go at your own place. Most of the house's contents were sold by Rembrandt to pay his debts so most things in the house were bought to replace them, so. So not used by Rembrandt except a few things which were mentioned.
Linda G — Google review
What. A lovely museum and shows the history of Dutch colonialism, the items they got from either looting or straight forward purchasing or getting it from legitimate sources Rembrandts life history is very interesting he painted things as he saw them his drawings of black people and Asians is spot on as one would see them in real life and not as a caricature which is very interesting as it appears he respects culture and maybe too liberal for his own time The maids bed was interesting and also a t explains how they slept back in the days as sleeping sitting down was recommended than lying flat The house is beautiful with art and history littered round the place The staff are lovely Please be respectful and not touch any furniture Look at the collection of Rembrandt especially the ceilings as there are some lovely collection ranging from Roman busts to animals and skulls There is no cafe in the place but there are toilets which are clean Plenty of Cafes near the museum and we got got recommends to visit a soup place which is literally round the block but this is about the museum Make sure you take you time sit and watch and there is also live demo abut etching which is interesting There is a lot to learn and take in Overall a very good day Adults pay 21 euros which is bit steep but they need to maintain the place so probably worth it

Hortus Botanicus, situated in the charming Amsterdam Oost district, is a historic botanical garden dating back to 1682. This picturesque destination boasts a diverse collection of exotic plants from around the globe, housed in classic greenhouses that evoke the bygone era of plant exploration. With over 6,000 indigenous and non-native trees and plants flourishing in its lush outdoor gardens and greenhouses, visitors can marvel at species imported by Dutch East India Company traders.
Absolutely adored our visit. Smaller garden than many big cities but gorgeous with so much packed in. You disappear and have no idea you’re in the city when in the center. Gorgeous structure to gardens with spectacular houses and education. Cafe is delicious as well. Get the apple pie.

Great little botanical gardens with amazing tropical greenhouses. It has a shop, a cafe and toilets. We spent about 2 hours here. It took a 15 minute stroll from Dam square to reach but you can also get a tram. Loved it !!

My favourite place to feel like I'm anywhere but where I actually am; Amsterdam, the big city. Great for photo's as shown in the first few pics. Even greater place to spot butterflies and feel the magic ✨️. You can totally relax here in about every corner of the place, wether you want to spot butterlfies, be with big plants, feel tropical climate, or eat some cake with tea on the side. There is also a great (gift) shop as you exit with books that always inspire me, and every now and then I buy one. Love you Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam ♥︎ (There's also one in Leiden! Worth the visit as well!)

Well maintained little garden. It's nice for a leisure stroll although the grounds are not that expansive. The price is high if you are just looking to see the gardens quickly.
Hayden J — Google review
A lovely botanical gardens, my favourite part: the butterfly enclosure. Unfortunately you couldn’t see in it any info about the caterpillar enclosure. Tickets are slightly more than I think it’s worth. We went on a rainy day so that affected our day a bit, as expected though. I’m sure it’s very lovely on a sunny day. It would benefit from some beaches outside with a rain cover of some sort, as rain is common here anyway.

Remarkably dense and interesting botanical garden right by the Maritime museum. We didn't know what to expect and were blown away with the depth and size of the collection in this pocket sized garden. Native, herbs, butterfly, South Africa, forest understory... so many little areas all well labeled and stuffed with great plants. If you like gardens, are a serious botanical fan, or just need a break from the crasser sections of Amsterdam this is the place. We had a great time with kids and wished we lived here and could ship the little garden store plants. There's also a nice cafe. Good bathrooms.

The Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum in Amsterdam is a fascinating exhibition that delves into the historical and cultural significance of cannabis. Visitors can explore a diverse range of exhibits, including artwork depicting the use of cannabis throughout history. The museum highlights the various practical applications of cannabis, from medicine and clothing to agriculture and transportation. It offers insight into how hemp and cannabis have been integral parts of human life for millennia. Additionally, visitors can also experience a live garden as part of the museum's immersive displays.
In Hash We Trust. This was a very interesting place for me. There are two exhibitions with many exhibits: the first focuses on industrial hemp, and the second explores cannabis culture and consumption. I took pictures of almost every exhibit. There is also an exhibition featuring real cannabis plants. Overall, this was one of my best experiences.

Loved the place. Would recommend to all Cannabis enthusiasts. Quite cheap too and easy way to spend like an hour. There were two sides other more for cannabis culture and the other for industrial hemp and both are very interesting.

Amazing place Where we can learn nd teach ignorant people how the amazing herb can save you from many problems and how doctors started using it for tough diseases! Absolutely recomend it! Specially that with the same entrance, you can visit the museum and the gallery with plenty of objects made with hemp and how ecological is. It's kinda small but a lot of audio and interesting explanations to listen to. I loved it!!

Great exhibition on cannabis. Audio guide is included in your tour, and you can take at your own pace and listen to the exhibits that interest you. Lots to see on the history of cannabis, from the history of the plant itself, to how it has changed religion, politics and music. Ticket also includes the hemp gallery, which I didn’t realise til we arrived. Brilliant value for money.

Remarkable and fascinating history of hemp and how this amazing plant can do so much. From bioplastic to hempcrete construction material, you can see and touch the evidence of how hemp can save the world. Great experience and highly recommended.

One of the best museums I've ever visited and as a museum nerd I've visited quite a few of them. And it wasn't because it has something extraordinary, but because it is made very convenient and enjoyable in a simple way. The highlight was this cool gadget – an audio guide shaped like a phone. At the beginning you pick your language, and it takes you through the museum. The different sections have chips with numbers; you just tap on them and it explains what you're seeing. It's like a personal tour at your own pace – best of both worlds! The staff were also amazing, very chill but at the same time very kind and genuinely happy to help (definitely the best staff from all the places in Amsterdam that I've visited). Aslo the content in the museum was very informative and it made me aware of a lot of things i didn't know about the cannabis plant, especially about hemp. This museum definitely does justice to this precious plant, shifting the narrative from it being a drug for lazy stoned junkies, to its actual value.
Marija S — Google review
Small but sweet. Yes this place is a little on the small side but it is organized well and is very informative. If you’re new to cannabis or just interested in learning more this place really has some good background from all over the world. The ticket also gains you access to a small hemp museum just north of the marijuana museum. We enjoyed spending our short time here. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The KattenKabinet, also known as the Cat Cabinet, is a one-of-a-kind museum that celebrates feline-inspired art in various forms. Founded in memory of a beloved cat named John Pierpont Morgan, the museum houses an extensive collection of cat-themed paintings, sculptures, posters, and collectibles. Visitors can explore rooms adorned with artworks dedicated to cats and may even encounter real-life feline residents during their visit.
Amazing place to visit for anyone that loves cats! Although the museum itself is not so big, it’s full of various paintings, sculptures, and other art pieces all about cats. The museum also has an adorable backyard where you can take a look at some more artwork and meet some of the local cats! The gift shop is also worth a visit. The staff were extremely friendly as well, definitely recommend!!!
Emilija S — Google review
It is very cute but rather small and not everything is translated into English. But the house itself is stunning and adds to the gallery itself. I would appreciate more historical input as the museum is only on one floor of the building and is walked through within 45 mins max. So great for a quick stop but don't plan too much time. But all things considered this place is great But keep in mind that there are cats walking around and to respect their space and not to annoy them And not to go to this restaurant if you are allergic
Alexis S — Google review
It is cute with lovely pictures and statues of cats. It is quite small so you will be probably done in 30 min, but if you are cat lover you will like it for sure. I guess it is better to come when is summer because they have small garden where you could find cats and pet them. We only found one cat inside.
Adna V — Google review
A purr-fect destination for cat lovers! If you’re a cat person—or even just mildly fond of felines—the KattenKabinet is an absolute must-see. This charming and unique museum is dedicated entirely to cats in art, history, and culture, offering an experience that’s as quirky as it is captivating. Housed in a beautiful historic canal house, the museum’s interior feels intimate and personal, with rooms filled with cat-themed paintings, sculptures, posters, and memorabilia spanning centuries. From classical artwork to whimsical modern pieces, the collection showcases the many ways cats have been muses, companions, and symbols in the world of art. What makes the KattenKabinet especially delightful for cat lovers is its immersive and unapologetically feline-focused nature. Every corner of the museum is a quiet celebration of the cat’s grace, mystery, and enduring charm. Even a few real cats are lounging about, adding to the authentic, cozy atmosphere. The museum’s courtyard and surrounding area are equally picturesque—perfect for a peaceful stroll or a moment to relax after the indoor exhibits. In short, KattenKabinet is a hidden gem that speaks directly to the hearts of cat enthusiasts. Whether you're an art lover, a cat fanatic, or simply looking for something off the beaten path in Amsterdam, this delightful museum is well worth a visit.
Lea T — Google review
Such a wonderful and memorable visit! We got to meet Buz, the fluffy ginger resident cat, and he completely stole the show, so cute and friendly. The KattenKabinet itself is a really cool and quirky concept, combining art, history, and cats in the most charming way possible. Everywhere you look there’s cat-themed artwork and little feline details that make the whole experience feel magical. You can tell the place is run with a lot of love and personality. Definitely a must-visit for any cat lover. It’s truly a cat lover’s dream! 🐱💛
Catherine R — Google review
I absolutely loved it here! It was very cool seeing the wide range of cat art. The resident cats were a joy. The gift shop was very unique with a good variety of items. Highly recommend all cat lovers visit!!
Erica P — Google review
Recommend visiting! The artwork across the hall house and garden is gorgeous! Lots to learn too! Also, you get to say hello to the resident cats who are adorable! It's not that big of a place, if you're a quick viewer it'll take 15 minutes to see everything. Before you leave you can write in the visited journal or if you have a kitty/cat momento from home, you can leave it on the site at the designated location. Lastly, there's a shop to buy magnets, postcards and posters. A lot of the popular posters get sold out quickly and restocking takes time. It's not wheelchair accessible and has no cafe. All in all, a great place to visit in Amsterdam :)
Andrea N — Google review
To those who didn’t enjoy it — saying things like “there aren’t enough cats,” “you have to wait to pet a cat,” or “the museum is too small” — I’d recommend stopping for a moment and learning to observe rather than consume. Learn to see something beautiful and unusual around you, slow down, and live in the moment. Personally, I liked it — during my visit, there were three cats and an incredible number of paintings. It’s a beautiful place, but only for those who know how to see beauty.

Electric Ladyland - Museum of Fluorescent Art is a cozy and unique museum that has been open since 1999. It is the world's first and only museum dedicated to fluorescent light. Visitors can enjoy guided tours where they learn about naturally fluorescent minerals, crystals, and manmade fluorescent objects. The displays react and light up when the black light is turned on, creating an immersive experience for visitors.
A really interesting and unique experience. It's sort of a one-room museum very personal to the owner, Nick. He really knows his stuff and creates some of the art displayed with his girlfriend. The pictures don't do it justice. I would recommend getting tickets in advance, sometimes you get lucky (we just arrived and got in with just 3 random other people) but sometimes he doesn't feel like it (which I totally understand) or it might be too full (the group after us had probably 15 people and the room is just too small and hot to accommodate that many). So I imagine your experience will vary. If you're lucky to get in with a small group you'll see a unique perspective and he'll be able to answer any questions you might have.
Melvin — Google review
Cute, but cluttered, little fluorescent art shop, with a little museum in the basement. Recommend booking a time in advance, as not many people can fit. The art, some (much?) of it created by the women running the shop is interesting, and while not exactly my style I know some people who would love the colours and look of the pieces. The museum below is just as big (or small) but less cluttered. The walls and cases are filled with all sorts of things that glow under black light. The guy who gives the tour is more than full of info all about the history, science, background, and all manner of knowledge of fluorescence! Seeing the art upstairs is cool, seeing the objects downstairs is super interesting, but really: you should be coming to listen to him and his stories and information. If you have any interest in this (and I didn't know I did before I went!) it's worth the price of admission to hear all the info. He's right, most people leave before he's done, but they're missing the best part: stories illuminated by black light.

It is amazing place where you can get interesting tour. The entrance fee is only 5 euro, (only cash) it’s cheap for such quality and timing. I like nice lady from India and her husband from US who opened this place. They are kind and have big life experience. They collected these unusual rocks from different countries and now they have huge collection in the basement. I highly recommend you to visit it!

If I could give it ten stars I would. This place may be tiny, but it's an absolute Aladdin's Cave full of amazing & unexpected treasures. The main ones being its proprietors, Michele and Nick, from France & the USA - tourists for 38 years, he said. She's charming, & he's hilarious, & full of brilliant stories and wonderful information. It's only €7.50 per person (my son paid €5 because he's a student) & they say you'll spend half an hour to an hour there, but we were there nearly 2 as we were getting on so well. He stayed open late as we were chatting a lot. As for the exhibits, they're so cool and beautiful! Make sure you see everything under both types of UV light! Stuff they've made, stuff they've collected, and so much info about the history of florescent paints etc. I want to go back after some mushrooms! 💓💓💓 We had to wait to enter but didn't mind as there's an excellent café beside it- Jenifer St!
Romy M — Google review
Absolutely fancy Gallery! The owners are really passionate and have a great knowledge about phosphorescence and fluorescence. Be sure to not mistake these! The place is a little bit small and crammed up, though. Still, the experience is totally worth it and there's no reason to complain about the entrance fee since you can count the amount on the fingers of one hand!
Felix W — Google review

What an incredible little museum! The owner is really cool and I loved hearing his stories. The artwork he created was amazing and filled with surprises when you look closer. I wish he could transform a whole house like that! Overall, this was a magical experience and I learned a lot as well. I am an artist and designer and was really impressed with this whole other world that is right under our eyes but remains unseen.
Kristina M — Google review
Well worth the trip, you can tell its a labour of love by the people who run it! So welcoming and happy to show you around. Shame we couldn't stay longer for part two of the tour, but definitely want to visit again. Ignore bad reviews were people's bookings were cancelled last minute. They are running a business out of their own love and time. If you turn up and it's closed. Don't whine, go and find something else to do, it's Amsterdam after all! Will be coming again :)

Nestled between Amsterdam and Amstelveen, Het Amsterdamse Bos is a sprawling recreational paradise that spans an impressive 1,000 hectares (nearly 2,500 acres). This expansive park features a network of 200 kilometers of paths for walking, cycling, and horseback riding. Visitors can explore the scenic beauty through its charming bridges designed in the early-20th-century Amsterdam School style.
This beautiful park boasts numerous walk trails. I visited during the Michelin food festival, which was a lot of fun. There was plenty of food, drinks, and places to relax.

Amsterdamse Bos is a serene escape just outside the city buzz. Lush woodlands, wide meadows, and calm waterways welcome all. Perfect for cycling, rowing, or just lazing under the trees. Kids adore the goat farm, adults find peace in nature’s hug. It’s Amsterdam’s green lung—wild yet wonderfully tamed.

We spent over three hours walking through Amsterdamse Bos, and it truly felt like we had left the city far behind. The park is huge, incredibly beautiful, and offers plenty of space for solitude and quiet walks. One of the highlights was the fun goat farm, where we even saw some piglets! There’s also a lovely restaurant nearby, surrounded by deer and peacocks, which adds to the unique atmosphere. A perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam – highly recommended 🦚

A huge and very beautiful park. It’s accessible by public transportation, followed by a 15-minute walk from the nearest bus station. It’s an amazing spot to escape the busy atmosphere of Amsterdam — peaceful, refreshing, and absolutely worth the visit. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a quiet break. There are several options for enjoying the water: boats, kayaks, and even electric options. It’s especially peaceful in the morning — you can go for a ride on the lake and barely see anyone around.

There are some really nice bike and walking routes around here. When walking with a dog, it’s not always clear which areas are leash-free and which ones require a leash. Step into the Xtracold Icebar Amsterdam, a unique venue where everything is crafted from ice, including the walls and drinking glasses. The bar pays homage to Dutch Arctic explorer Willem Barentsz's journey in the 16th century. Upon entry, guests receive warm coats and gloves to combat the sub-zero temperatures inside. With your ticket, enjoy three complimentary drinks served in ice glasses. Marvel at the ice sculptures that make up the furniture and decor while sipping on your favorite beverages.
A unique place for a cold drink. To explain this experience perfectly, you will first go through the ticket desk, and enter a "normal style" bar. This bar is the waiting area where you can order a couple of drinks. When the time comes, you will form a queue with everyone else where you will be given gloves and a coat. When the staff are ready, you will all be invited to the walk-in freezer. There are a few ice sculptures, and there is only room for standing. You are given one glass which is made of ice, and you can exchange your tokens for drinks (you will reuse the same glass throughout your visit). A great place for a selfie, but not somewhere to sit and relax.

Really fun attraction when in Amsterdam. The staff were very friendly and it had a very nice atmosphere. Also the entry ticket is around €20, 3 drinks are included. In the standard bar area there is a token to get a cocktail of your choice and inside the ice bar itself a Heineken beer or a shot of sweet favoured vodka is included. Would definitely recommend the nougat vodka.
Nanako — Google review
If buying tickets online, you can safe a few euros, but generally both prices are valid for such an unforgettable experience. Three drinks are included (one in the “warm room” and other two in the “ice cave”). The temperature is about -10 degrees celsius, but you do not feel it. There are jackets and gloves, which you get before entering the cold room. Atmosphere is crazy and music is good. Service is nice and all barmen are talkative and friendly.

We went here with my girlfriend because it was one of the best activities to do in Amsterdam. And for the originality, I admit that it was really good ! We are not amateurs of alcohol, but some of them proposed were delicious 😋. About the place, I thought the ice place would be bigger 🤔 In 30 secondes, you saw everything. To summarize, I recommend it to try, it's a good thing to do !

My girlfriend and I were here because a tour guide told us about this place, we're really glad we came, the personel was enthusiastic even though I imagine the video they play before the experience must be exhausting after a while, you get two drinks in the ice bar and one in the normal one for before or after. The bar is really nice designed with the theme of a sailing ship, inside the ice bar there's a few funny details stuck in ice. The barkeep/guide with the cool necklace and bandana was really nice to talk with and really did his job great. I found the whole experience very nice and would probably do it again and I recommend it to everyone looking for a bar with the extra kick.

Great photo opportunities. Lovely tour guide, cosme was amazing. Lovely flavours of vodka chocolate nut was my personal favourite.
Emily M — Google review
Not really worth the money. There’s just no space to stand let alone breathe. You only spend about 20 minutes in the ice bar which is really small and cramped, you’re rushed to get drinks, and before all this you have to wait in the upstairs bar for up to 20 minutes as well and then watch a few minute long video which makes the whole thing seem more exciting than it is. The only good part was the vodka shots and the lovely bartenders.

A'DAM Tower, located in Amsterdam's Noord district, is a multi-use tower that offers various attractions. The basement houses Shelter, a 24-hour nightclub, while MADAM on the 20th floor boasts the city's highest dance floor and transforms into a nightclub after sunset. Additionally, there is a revolving restaurant on the 19th floor and an interactive exhibition about Amsterdam's history.
Booked for myself and partner in Feb 2025. Get the free ferry across, near Adam Central station. This takes about 5 mins and they run all day. We booked the Tower lookout, swing and the VR ride. The VR ride was just OK, doesn't last too long and it is a roller-coaster that takes you around the city of Amsterdam. It was a nice addition to the booking. The view from the top is stunning. you can see all the famous places of Amsterdam whilst enjoying a cold beer. The prices at the bar 0 probably to be expected - are very expensive, however well worth it when you are enjoying the view. It was not too busy when we went as was out of season, however, I could imagine this being extremely busy in the summer. It was interesting watching the video on the towers history (located on top floor before the swing). They do have a restaurant, however, I think you may have to book and it did seem to be very expensive. The swing itself is amazing. The view was unreal and staff were very helpful. It only lasts around 3-4 mins though which was short enough, but again, to be expected. Would 100% recommend this to anyone travelling to Dam and its something that we would actually to again if we visit in the future.

Loved A'DAM Tower! You can see a stunning view of Amsterdam and surroundings from the observation deck. There's also a light show while going up on the lift. Another lovely thing is the digital memory they created for you. It's a must visit place while you are visiting Amsterdam. Highly recommended.
Thet S — Google review
Very touristic spot, but worth a visit. I went on a Friday and the queue was short. Got tickets with drinks, and the view was amazing, especially at sunset. The swing was sold out (lots of people wanted to go), so better to book that in advance. On the top terrace it was windy and cool, which added to the experience. Souvenirs are available in the shop downstairs. They also have a photo setup where you pose on a steel pile with the skyline superimposed behind you, it’s more of a marketing gimmick, and you pay for the photos at the end if you want them. Oh we loved the lift experience!!!

If someone asked me what the first thing to see in Amsterdam would be, I would answer without thinking: A'DAM Tower, with everything it has to offer: stunning view of the entire city, swing, restaurant, funny photos, the whole holiday atmosphere. Beautiful memories, I mean. And there are still things left that we didn't do. But be careful: everything is paid separately! When you see others swinging at 100 m high it seems very simple and natural. When you are there, everything changes, especially if you are afraid of heights. Although I resisted "heroically", I would not repeat the experience even though I enjoyed it very much. So, think carefully before you go! But if you don't have problems with heights, then: go for it! The ferry across the IJ is free. It's good to check availability online: if the restaurant is booked for events, then you can go there for nothing. Plus, online tickets have a discount. We've been twice: the first time it wasn't crowded at all, the second time we waited almost 20 minutes in line for the elevator. Of course it was Sail 2025 :)
Look A — Google review
A'DAM Tower is an excellent place to visit for a 360-degree view of Amsterdam. Great experience from entry, with good choices of activities (chargeable on a per-activity basis) and a combination ticket that includes a drink. Start by taking a picture, which generates an AI image and video. Lift for 100 meters, climbing with a digital display and music inside the lift for 20 seconds of enjoyment. Activities at the top level with a 360-degree view of Amsterdam, A'DAM Lookout Tower model and history in pictures and also a 10-minute video. Drinks and food, if opted for, a rooftop area for a swing, which is an excellent adventure and a lot of fun (though it's not my cup of tea). Good photo with the Horse and ADAM. Once get down again, you can see a digital display with the music to say goodbye. A good collection of momentos from a visit to the Adam Lookout Tower. Visitor-friendly, disabled friendly, kids-friendly. You can get at least a video and a photo as a gift from management for your visit. And I was surprised to learn that the owners are music professionals.

A’DAM Tower is one of Amsterdam’s most iconic landmarks, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city from its observation deck. The highlight is the “Over the Edge” swing, where you can swing out over the edge of the building for a thrilling experience! The atmosphere is modern and lively, and the staff are friendly and helpful. However, it’s not very suitable for children, as it can get quite crowded and the music is loud.

Check the weather report before you book your tickets in advance and you definitely should book them in advance. I had great views, but it was very overcast that day. This was a bucket list stop when I was in Amsterdam. I don’t think you’ll find a better view anywhere else. Also don’t be scared of the swings. It’s not as scary as it looks. You’ll also be missing out if you don’t stop in the café. Grab a table and sip a coffee while taking in the view.

😍 UNIQUE | SURPRISING 😮 We went there under heavy rain, taking the ferry was a mission but when you arrive you instantly forget what happened before. • The elevator : no comment 🤫 • The lookout : really unique view in Amsterdam, had the chance to see two rainbows and the sun setting • The sky platform : now it gets serious with the wind and the rain you really feel “outside” it’s really interesting • The atmosphere : globally everyone smiling because being there is quite surprising with the view, the activities etc. The global concept is really interesting merging all sources of entertainment around music, gathering people in a really new and fun way. I didn’t tried the VR and the swing because of the timing but people seemed to enjoy a lot both activity. Next time I will surely try to attend an event there !

Immerse yourself in the captivating audiovisual adventure of AMAZE Amsterdam, a journey that will transform and deeply move you. This sprawling warehouse is divided into 7 zones, each offering a unique and enchanting experience. Despite the relatively short duration of each room, there's a spacious hall where you can linger as long as you like. The addition of a bar at the beginning and end adds to the overall experience.
Long walk from the centre but worth it. The AMAZE experience is a great visual and audio treat. Tip always follow the orange light. Also the bar has a record selector you can play with while you wait. Very night club feel to the bar area.

Quite conflicted on this one. First, the pro's: great sound systems, very cool lights, and amazing cocktails! The interactive installations were pretty cool... if they worked. The cons: some installations were broken or didn't function, and the experience heavily relies on AI. Wacky AI-generated videos and images - I pay €20+ to see art, not to watch AI-slop. If they would fix the installations and remove the terrible AI content, I'd give it 5 stars. Right now, it's not really worth the money.

Went to Amaze with a friend and it was such a fun experience! We were just goofing around and loved the vibes. The rooms are really cool with lights, sounds, and lasers. It was different than we expected but in a good way. We got tickets on discount which made it even better. It’s probably a one-time fun thing, but definitely worth checking out if you want something unique in Amsterdam! Also don’t go if you have epilepsy.

Went here today with my 4 daughters, ages 15, 18, 20 and 26. We had a fab time. My youngest especially enjoyed it and interacted throughout. Yes it’s a little out the way, but the trams are really easy to navigate to and from the centre, and cheap too! We got an uber there to ensure we wasn’t late, then tram into the city to explore some more. Was a nice couple hours spent siding something different. Staff are super friendly and helpful too.

A must do in Amsterdam. The best place for someone who appreciates art, electronic music and visuals. Every room felt like a different part of a dream. Staff are really the best and the cocktails are a must try. The neon sour cocktail and the Amaze liquor, super recommended. Thanks to ID&T for creating these kind of spaces.

I went with my parents — one of the coolest activities you can do in Amsterdam! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 It’s basically an interactive light and laser show, accompanied by amazing sound and music. The experience is set up across several rooms, and you move from one to the next without knowing what to expect. Each space is a surprise — and every one is unique, fun, and super immersive. I won’t go into too much detail so it stays a surprise for you! If you’ve got an hour or an hour and a half of free time, definitely check it out. It’s great for kids, adults, and even older visitors. Just a heads-up: it’s not recommended for people with epilepsy, as the lights and effects could trigger seizures. Will go again, once I come back in Ams💙

It's located in Amsterdam, making it the perfect way to start or end your night. Whether you're looking for something to do on a special occasion or just want an enjoyable night out, Boom Chicago is the theater for you!
HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP!!!! My best friend and I went to Boom Chicago last night and we had thee most amazing experience! Not only was the cast so talented and entertaining, the crew was so helpful and answered all of our questions! The show was absolutely hilarious and I would highly recommend it to everyone! We will never forget the kindness from the staff and we will definitely be back next time we visit Amsterdam! :))

Great set of 2 up comers and 1 main comedian for the second half. Very enjoyable with bar access before and on the 10min half way break. Only thing that knocked a star off was the seating as wood chairs with no cushion and became uncomfortable over the time there. Enjoyable experience for all adults that can have a joke...
David W — Google review
I travelled all the way from Germany just to attend the Boom Comedy Festival for a day. And boys, the shows didn't disappoint. The Meyers Brothers podcast was way better live and all the guests were all very hilarious. But it was not until the improv show that I could see how much funnier Seth Meyers was in person. His improv partner Jill Benjamin and he were literally working in sync. Brendan Hunt and Ike Barinholtz were also exceptionally entertaining. And not to mention the Boom Chicago cast with their out of this world improv singing ability. I know it was supposed to be a job for them and they were very good at it, but I still couldn't comprehend how they could think that fast to adapt to all the responses. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that hard in my life and it was such a memorable night that I already knew the next day would feel like a bit of a comedown. But I’m definitely planning to visit the theater again in the future.

10/10 for entertainment 10/10 for customer service 10/10 for set up and vibes!! Whoever the complainants are below talking about the wooden chairs being uncomfortable… grow up! I am 8 months pregnant with twins and it was completely fine. Plenty of space compared to a lot of comedy dens I’ve been to. Also very smart putting a drinks table in each row I’ve never seen that before. I also had to postpone our original booking last minute due to the aforementioned pregnancy and whoever I was emailing was so kind and accommodating. The show itself was hilarious from start to finish. Especially the song about Paris. Hugely clever and passionate comedians, who seem to love what they do and it really shines. We loved our experience and can’t wait to go again. Also considering doing the Saturday training course just for the fun of it! Thank you for a brilliant night 💜💜

Begijnhof is a serene and charming courtyard in Amsterdam, dating back to the 14th century. It was once a women's religious community with houses and a tranquil garden. Unlike the bustling pace outside Centraal Station, this hidden gem offers a peaceful escape from the typical tourist route.
This is an enclosed space, very well kept, very pretty and very tranquil and peaceful. There is a church inside that will have masses in French at designated days and times. It is a bit hidden and off the main shopping street, but well worth the visit!

The Sexmuseum Amsterdam Venustempel is a unique attraction located in the historic de Wallen district of Amsterdam. Despite its location in the famous red-light district, this area offers more than just adult entertainment, with picturesque streets, diverse cuisine, and stunning architecture to explore during the day. The museum itself is situated in a beautiful spot for photography and features a mix of art, sculpture, humor, and eroticism.
The sex museum is definitely one of my favourite moments being in Amsterdam. I thought it was really silly and interesting at the same time. I really enjoyed the various types of expositions : from photos to sculptures and from videos to animatronics. It's worth the 10€ not only because it's a well curated museum but also because it's quite unique. I would recommend you go !
Ju — Google review
DISAPPOINTING I don't mind anything I saw in the museum but the first negative thing is the dude witht the coat, are you serious to put this in a museum, it's not funny nor something to watch, it's just a guy that would go "pssst", and slowly move out and flash you his thing like a predator ARE YOU SERIOUS to put this in museum like it's a normal thing, next to interesting paintings. The rest is not bad but still not that informative and mostly just cheap moving plastic status Some artifacts are good and interesting, but not worth it to go in at all.
Rania — Google review
Honestly, don’t go if you’re a bit of a prude or get uncomfortable easily, there’s a lot of nudity (obviously 😅). But overall, it’s really interesting! You can learn and see so many cool things about this topic through the years and decades. Definitely worth checking out if you’re curious
Adna V — Google review
I didn't expect much more than a cheesy tourist attraction. This is a real deal museum and well curated at that. Definitely worth the €10 ticket. Upon walking in they hand you a branded tote bag. In it there's a glossy coffee table type booklet, along with a branded hat, pen, and lollipop. And throughout the museum they walk around serving non-alcoholic champagne and you can keep the logoed plastic flute.
Anthony C — Google review
Don’t expect too much. It’s not a very special museum. There are a few fake bodies, some old photos, and certain items — all with pornographic themes. It wasn’t as fun or interesting as I expected.
Lili Ö — Google review
For 10 euros, this was fine. Going in, I thought I was going to learn about the history of how sex has been viewed in society. They had a lot of artifacts, but very little education. I did learn about Marilyn Monroe and Josephine Baker. Most everything else was sex paraphernalia throughout the ages. There was good representation — they had artifacts from Chinese dynasties all the way to modern day. But sex is a complicated societal topic, and the museum does not even attempt to address that. The toilets were beautiful.

The Portuguese Synagogue of Amsterdam, completed in 1675, is a grand and light-filled synagogue located in the attractive Jewish Quarter. It was built for thousands of Jews who sought refuge in Amsterdam from religious persecution on the Iberian Peninsula. The building's design is inspired by the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem and features original wooden barrel-vaulted ceilings illuminated by over 1,000 candles and natural light from 72 windows.
Beautiful synagogue and a testament to the History of the Jewish religion and presence in Amsterdam. It is very beautiful inside. The ladies gallery access was however very badly kept and the stairs and windows were very, very dirty. When you think of the admission price of 22 Euro, this whole place should be spotless and very well kept.

There is much to see and explore here, with the extensive museum as well as the synagogue itself. Unfortunately we only had time to see the synagogue and a tiny part of the museum. There is extensive security when entering the complex, including 'airlock' style doors - which may be off-putting, but is understandable in this climate. Men are required to wear a kippah when entering the synagogue, but not the museum.

De Hallen Amsterdam is a trendy and industrial-chic retail center located in the southwest of Amsterdam. It was once a tram depot but has been transformed into a vibrant hub of food, film, and culture. The complex houses an arthouse cinema, boutique hotel, independent outlets, and hosts a local goods market every weekend. Its main attraction is the Foodhallen, an indoor foodie market offering a wide selection of upmarket street food from local vendors and specialty bars.
After living in rural Europe, this was a refreshing take on a food hall. Tons of variety, lots to drink and the queues weren’t too crazy. It does get a bit warm inside so be pearled to take off some layers. Meatball subs were delish!

We loved it here so much that we came back to it twice, regardless of the fact that we were a young family of four, were over an hour away and had to catch numerous trams to get here! What a cool place with a fantastic vibe. The best part of this experience was all the different options of food available, meaning all four of us could have something totally different to the other person, meaning everyone had their favourite food. Very enjoyable and whilst you might have to have a little patience to wait for seating to become available, it is worth it once you do.

The Willet-Holthuysen Museum is a captivating destination that offers a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of Amsterdam's elite during the 18th and 19th centuries. Housed in an elegant canal house constructed in the late 17th century, this museum showcases period interiors adorned with Venetian glass, porcelain, weapons, rare art history books, paintings, and more.
Historic cannal house worth the visit. The spaces are beautiful and they are still unveiling old details. The garden room was painted white but they've revealed some of the original wall paintings. Cool building!
Peter W — Google review
The Willet-Holthuysen Museum is beautiful and gives a great glimpse into Amsterdam’s aristocratic past. However, many rooms were too dark, which made it hard to appreciate the details. Also, the modern screens with lots of visible cables really disrupted the historic atmosphere and made viewing the rooms less enjoyable.
Марта С — Google review
I wanted to give this museum five stars, because I really loved the collection and the taste of the original owners. Unfortunately it seems like the museum managers still aren't 100% sure what to do with the place, same as when the building was donated to the city. While we were there, there was a series of movies playing in some of the rooms, which were quite disruptive to the experience, and it didn't seem like there was enough information on most of the objects, given that the couple were such eminent collectors. But I may be a little biased there since my grandpa is an antiques dealer in used to getting the whole story. Advice to the curator/director - improve the lighting, and add more labels to the displayed items.
Jacob S — Google review
Another beautiful house museum of Amsterdam. Full of architectural details and art. although a lot the furniture was replaced, all peices stayed truthfull to the time period. A must see.
Tariq A — Google review
Walking through the Willet-Holthuysen House feels like stepping into a world of 19th-century luxury. Every room – from the grand ballroom to the intimate study – tells a story of wealth, taste, and ambition. More than a museum, it’s a time capsule that reveals how Amsterdam’s elite lived, loved, and showcased their power.
Nadine — Google review
Walked in as I randomly passed. Knew nothing about it beforehand. Got a free audio guide which was easy to use. The museum has remade the house as it more or less was when I rich family lived there I think in the 19th century. Quite luxurious. Also has a very nice back garden. Takes maybe 45 minutes to visit. A fun look at a time in history in Amsterdam.

Muiderslot is a well-preserved 13th-century moated castle located near Amsterdam, Netherlands. Built in 1280 by Count Floris V, it features round towers and a water shield. The count's imprisonment and murder added to the castle's historical significance. In the 17th century, it was popular with Dutch poet PC Hooft who entertained artists and scientists there.
A really neat experience. It felt intimate given the castles size. It gave you a great sense of what it took to build such a thing back in a time with small villages and coordinated construction challenges. It’s one of those places where you pause and appreciate where you are and what you’re seeing. The gardens are vegetable and as such adds a bit more to the ‘reality’ of what this area was like. Plus the town is really cute too. Amazing to consider such a rural spot is just minutes from downtown Amsterdam.

We got here during a weekday. The weather was typical Dutch with rain and sunshine switching by the minute, so we looked for something we can do inside. So we came here and we liked it a lot. You can walk around the castle on your own pace. We did not use the free audio guide, as there are plenty of signs explaining what you are seeing. The dungeon was the only underwhelming part of the castle but that’s ok. There is a cafe here as well and the apple cake was delicious. The coffee was good as well. The castle garden invites you for a little stroll around. And was a treat in itself with all the different herbs and vegetables to explore. If it is worth 20€ per person is something you need to decide on your own. For us it was worth it.

A very beautiful castle to visit. It was quiet and relaxing to walk around the property. There was very interesting history behind the castle that we enjoyed learning.

I didn’t go inside, but Muiderslot Castle was absolutely beautiful. The fairytale towers, the moat, and the lovely gardens make it a stunning place to see. Even just from the outside, it’s well worth a visit!
Natálie — Google review
I took a train to the castle from Amsterdam. It was well worth the trip. It was so fascinating to visit a real castle. The pictures do not do it any justice. You must experience this castle in real life. I spent the majority of the day here there is so much to see inside the castle and outside the castle. It is located in a very small town. It feels like you’re stepping back into time. This feeling includes walking around the town and the castle. Upon entering the castle, you can walk over to the audio kiosk, and grab some free headphones. You can listen to an audio tour which is included in the price of your ticket. There is a wealth of information about the history of the castle. After exploring the castle, you can walk over to the coffee shop and grab some food and a drink. Then take a stroll through the garden. There’s also a walking trail that leads to the plum trees behind the castle. I visited the castle on a weekday. I arrived around 11:30 and it was not very crowded. As the afternoon went on then more people started showing up. So the earlier you get there the better.

Muiderslot castle is just what you would expect. I'm glad they restored and preserved it. It looks more impressive from the outside as there really isn't that much on the inside. If you have young kids they'll enjoy it, as they'll have a chance to try on medieval armour etc etc. It's the sort of place you only go to once. As a bonus, watching the boats going through the lock nearby whilst having a cup of coffee is every bit as enjoyable.
Stephen S — Google review
Ancient castle, not in ruins! Audio tour available in 10 languages was great. A lot to see with a little town nearby. We went by car. The wait while boats went through the lock was part of the experience.

The Houseboat Museum in Amsterdam offers a unique experience, allowing visitors to step inside the Hendrika Maria, a 1914 freighter converted into a houseboat. This museum provides insight into life on the city's iconic canals and showcases the transformation of an old cargo ship into a cozy living space. With its authentic interiors and nautical decor, the museum offers a glimpse into Amsterdam's distinctive houseboat culture.
Very interesting! I saw the houseboats while on canal cruise and was interested in seeing an interior- this gave me that opportunity! Very spacious and had interesting facts along the tour along with current owner profiles (always want to know more about the owners!). Current houseboats for sale were also listed- a lot more money than you’d guess! Great stop! Robert was very helpful and kind:)

An awesome time capsule preserved for us to see and experience. One of the more recent journeys the city has to share with the world. You need to experience this when in Amsterdam. Understand the why, it’s awesome. The docent attending the vessel was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Loved this museum, houseboat presented as it would have been with amazing 60's decor. Doesn't take long but has lots of information and worth a visit

This was amazing. I had always wanted to see inside of a houseboat. This one is very spacious and week preserved.
Lauren W — Google review
I had pretty low expectations, but it was really great. A lot of good information when there were the kids, and the audio guide was pretty good. Entertaining. Would recommend it specifically if you have an hour to kill in Amsterdam.

Fun to see this unique museum that represents the many houseboats that provide homes on the canals of Amsterdam. We'll worth a visit.
Rick J — Google review
A museum you don’t want to miss. Easy to locate in a save and open area. If you’ve ever wondered what the inside of a boathouse might look like now is your chance to see one. It also has the coolest decor from the 60s/70s. It was worth the visit.

Melkweg, a long-standing non-profit venue located at Leidseplein in Amsterdam, is housed in a former milking factory and has been an integral part of European counter-culture since the 1970s. This cutting-edge music and performance venue hosts a variety of events including concerts, club nights, arts exhibitions, and cinema screenings. The original dairy building has been expanded to include modern extensions such as an art gallery and cafe.
There are several rooms, so multiple events can take place on the same day. They’re usually quite varied. I’ve been several times: once for a rock concert and another time for melodic techno. They have lockers both downstairs and upstairs. There’s plenty of staff, and they’re very friendly.
Mary R — Google review
Great venue for live music. Sound and view are world class. Toilet situation could be a bit better, but in general all very well organized. Easy to come to this place by public transport. I've been here a few times now, always a pleasure to spend time here!
MUSEUM H — Google review
Saw Mari Froes there and it was awesome! The venue is small, extremely intimate, so it is a good space to dance and feel more connected to the artist. There was no security check for bags though, and that made me feel somewhat unsafe.
Sofia A — Google review
My daughter and I went for Techno Tuesday. The security staff were polite and professional. The club was clean and spacious. The unisex toilets were clean. Lovely ladies outside the toilets selling lollipops. The club was advertised to open at 23:30, but only opened its doors just before midnight.

I went to the Melkweg in Amsterdam for my first concert and it was amazing! Even though I arrived a bit late, there was no waiting line and everything went super smoothly. The sound and lights were incredible and the atmosphere inside was full of good energy. The staff were friendly and the drinks weren’t that expensive compared to other venues. I really liked how organized everything was from the entry to the bar service. It felt cozy but still had that exciting concert vibe. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience and I’d definitely come back for another show. Highly recommend this place if you love live music!
Ajay — Google review
I’ve been to 2 concerts (alll good then) and a Macumba party(which I think it was a bit crowded and you couldn’t dance properly with all the people always asking to pass by) locker system works good! And the bathrooms nothing to complain about!
Mey M — Google review
The concert itself was great and I’m not disputing this was a great concert venue. Went to see Tom Grennan there November 8th 2025. There were 2 concerts on that night and a club night which started before Tom Grennan ended. The issue was that there were only staff on the front door and nothing to stop people walking in any venue once inside. There were definitely people in the concert that had come from elsewhere in the building, as people were mentioning they’d only paid €17 for 2 concerts. At the start of the concert there was room and then by the end myself and my two Dutch friends were squashed against the back barrier, which was beginning to feel like a bit of a safety issue. If it weren’t for this the venue would have received five stars. There weren’t any staff free to mention this to afterwards and by then we just wanted to get the train back to Utrecht.

The Concertgebouw, a 19th-century concert hall, is renowned for its exceptional acoustics and is home to the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. The venue hosts top-tier musical performances featuring world-class musicians and singers in an elegant neo-classical setting. Visitors can enjoy free lunchtime concerts on Wednesdays in the smaller auditorium, the Kleine Zaal, offering a taste of the cultural richness of Amsterdam.
It was a wonderful experience. The building is a classic, and the vibes is make the music more engaging. The performance was also beautiful.
Muhammad A — Google review
This is one of the world’s most acoustically renowned classical concert halls and a cultural icon of Amsterdam. It serves as the home of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of the Netherlands. Designed by Adolf Leonard van Gendt, the building was inspired by the Gewandhaus in Leipzig and features a blend of neoclassical and Dutch Renaissance architectural elements. Construction began in 1883 and was completed in 1886, with the official opening held in 1888. In 2013, it was granted the honorary title "Royal." The main hall is built in a shoebox shape, providing near-perfect reverberation and placing it on par with the world’s best venues, such as those in Vienna and Boston.

Absolutely stunning building and acoustics. I went here to see How to train your dragon in concert, and it was just absolute perfection. it's a beautiful concert hall and everything is very well taken care of. I parked at the Qpark museumplein which is quite literally next to the building, definitely recommend!!

Nestled in the heart of Amsterdam's Red Light District, Casa Rosso stands as a legendary theater known for its captivating and daring performances. This iconic venue invites guests to immerse themselves in an exhilarating blend of sensuality and humor, encouraging them to shed their inhibitions. With a vibrant atmosphere that pulses with excitement, visitors can enjoy an array of live shows while sipping on refreshments. The experience is enhanced by the welcoming staff who ensure everyone feels comfortable and secure throughout their visit.
The erotic shows were well-executed, and most of them were a lot of fun to watch. That said, there was one act where a man pulled a ribbon from a vagina, which I found a bit gross, it’s not for everyone. The doorman came off as a little rude, but I can understand the need for strictness to maintain order in a place like this. On the lighter side, the ticket master handed me a dick-shaped lollipop, which added some humor to the experience. The voice anchor was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed his witty and engaging announcements. Overall, it was a great erotic show and a memorable experience. Definitely worth a visit if you’re open to exploring something different in Amsterdam!
Bithy S — Google review
It's the best live show I've been to, nothing quite like it. It was my first experience so it's something I will always rememeber and it was very enjoyable. Once you paid, you can stay there as long as you like. The only thing I wasn't a massive of was the wait times between the acts which I get. I was by myself and you can't use your phone so I was a bit bored, something to think about. The seats of the theater are close, so leg room wasn't great. Staff were really great, I gave too much on the door and he could of just taken the money but instead he gave it back and was really helpful. It is very expensive to get in but a one off is worth it. Overall, if I was there and had enough cash I would go to watch the acts once again.

An unforgettable experience in Amsterdam’s Red Light District! The strip and “interactive” show offers a perfect blend of erotic art and unexpected comedy, creating a unique atmosphere that’s both thrilling and entertaining. With 8 rotating shows from 17:00 until late, you can watch again and again without feeling bored. Each performance brings something new, with creative twists and plenty of surprises. Definitely a must-try if you’re looking for something bold, daring, and truly authentic in Amsterdam nightlife! Warning : it may be NOT the perfect spot for lady as i saw some of them walked out. However, what they are expected from live sex show?
Suthipong T — Google review
Fun show, a little expensive with drinks that I’m not convinced have any alcohol in it. Ticket included one drink, but no additional and you do not have the option to buy any additional. Show is about an hour, 10 or so acts. It was entertaining, we don’t regret it. It wasn’t too rowdy. Staff was orderly. Shows were very unique. You can stay as long as you want, I don’t know why you would want to stay to see the shows twice. But we did see some single guys doing that. Able to pay with Apple Pay 65 euros each.
Chelsea H — Google review
It was good. Expensive, but enjoyable with some funny monents and at other times sexy moments. A good mix. Recommended to keep watching after the full rotation as they can swap out some acts.
Mariusz — Google review
Absolute waste of money. If you're reading this wondering if you should go, don't! A server took my two tickets and ripped the ends off of them but did not tell me he would bring me our drinks. I waited 20 minutes and decided to go to the bar and ask for my drinks. The young bar tender told me I could not get my drinks. I asked him why, and he couldn't explain to me why I couldn't (which is understandable because he didn't speak English well). The young bartender took one of my tickets and put it in his pocket then he called over another bar tender (an older guy with long hair) he immediately got aggressive with me telling me i cannot get my drinks. I asked why and he told me I only had 1 ticket. I explained to him the other bartender took my ticket and he instantly accused me of lying and refused to give me any drinks (that I paid for). I told him ok and returned to my seat. He followed me to my seat and confronted me in an aggressive manner and was mocking me. He continued to stand behind me the rest of the show and had a security guard sit directly behind me the rest of the show. We felt very uncomfortable and disrespected, and we left the show. He starred at me as I left. What absolute waste of money (68 euros EACH) to be harassed and intimidated against for not reason. I was nothing but polite to both of these bar tenders and they had no right to attack me like that. The show itself was OK. It was 3 quick performances then just started to replay. That long haired loser was lucky he had security because I would have broke his face. Do not go here if you are reading this and think you should go.

Solo 30s female review here: Remember, it's a theatre show. It's literally called 'theatre' and there is sometimes a lot of 'smoke and mirrors' during the show hiding the 'action' - like capes are blocking things, the actor/s turns away, the light strategically dims. But hey, that's exactly what porn is! Theatre!! But you WILL see some real action, I can confirm, real PPs and VVs and ins and outs of mouths and holes. However, the 'bedroom' stuff is just standard stuff (I feel LOL). The man's body was amazinggg but I felt no need to take notes on anything. There is also some admirable pole strength/acrobatic stuff but don't go in expecting a circus. It's porn theatre/stripping and some 'funny' sexy stuff with audience participation. And there is a lot of men in the audience with their heads bobbing enthusiastically...and maybe their hands...I'm not sure.... Security - walks around constantly to look down the rows of seats, probably for cameras and other icky stuff, which made me feel good being alone, and I sat right near the entrance door near security for that reason, for safety. I didn't finish a full round rotation of the show unfortunately because some man started asking me if I was there alone. Of course I lied and said "No! I'm with friends!" but he asked me again and I said the same. My gut said 'leave', so I left before the act finished, so he couldn't see that I was indeed alone, no friends had returned, and he wouldn't speak to me again between acts. The bartender upstairs was really nice when I arrived and said to let them know if anyone bothered me and they would throw them into the canal. You can't throw someone into the canal just for speaking to me like this situation. But such is the female experience. "Do I? Don't I? Will I be safe walking home now at 10pm and safe if I stay till the end of the show? How did he even know I was there alone anyway when he just walked in and I'm right against the entrance wall?" Long story short - A side rant there about how exhausting it is being female sometimes and it was just a cherry on the cake of many similar experiences in my Euro Trip. Back to Casa Rosso - it was funny at times, sometimes it was funny to me when it probably wasn't meant to be. I wish I got to see the whole set. It's a 'when in Rome' thing, so if you're contemplating going to it like I was then you may as well just see it for fun! And security is tops. The skinny blonde guy walking through seemed nice and the bartender asked how I was enjoying the show when he was wandering by. Also, all kinds of people attend - a lot of groups of Asian (Japanese I think) men, plus young and old couples and just relaxed groups of friends and solos like me!

Terrible Experience at Casa Rosso Amsterdam – Not Worth €65! We visited Casa Rosso in Amsterdam’s Red Light District expecting a fun and professional adult show, but it turned out to be one of the worst experiences ever. We paid €65 per person, but the show itself was extremely poor — totally not worth the price. What ruined it even more was a man named Sadiq, who said he was the manager there and mentioned he was from Bangladesh. Instead of managing the place, he was flirting with female clients in the audience and behaving in a very unprofessional way. When some of the girls’ friends objected, he started arguing aggressively with them, and when we pointed out that Sadiq was wrong, he began threatening us too — saying things like he’d throw us out of the place. His rude and arrogant behavior completely spoiled the mood, and we left the show halfway. Honestly, Casa Rosso is not worth the money or the experience. The management is unprofessional, the staff is rude, and the atmosphere feels uncomfortable. If this guy Sadiq is still working there, I’d strongly advise everyone to avoid this place. Save your €65 — there are far better things to do in Amsterdam.

Mike's Bike Tours Amsterdam offers an immersive three-hour City Bike Tour that takes you through the Canal District and the bohemian Jordaan neighborhood, stopping at iconic attractions such as the Anne Frank House and Vondelpark. The tour is led by knowledgeable locals who provide insider anecdotes and stories about the city. You can also choose from a variety of bike options including kids bikes, tandem bikes, child seats, or a bakfiet for toddlers and babies.
I had an incredible time on Mike's Countryside Bike Tour! The experience was wonderfully organized, making it easy to soak in the stunning scenery. Our guide was polite and attentive, ensuring everyone was comfortable and engaged. Pedaling through charming villages and lush fields felt riveting, like stepping into a painting! I loved every moment of exploring the Dutch countryside. It was refreshing, and I can't recommend this tour enough. A heartfelt thanks to Anne Kittelmann for organizing such a delightful adventure! If you're in Amsterdam, this is a must-do!

Our guide, Rinse, was terrific. We rode approximately 21 miles (34 km) with a large group, and he managed to keep us all safe, together, and entertained. The pedal-assist bikes make this tour easy enough for anyone to do. The bikes have different levels of assist, ranging from none to turbo, so if you want a little challenge, then you can turn it off. The whole tour is not non-stop riding. We took a few breaks along the way to learn about and admire the countryside. We stopped at a cheese and clog factory, which was a nice touch. Overall, this was a fantastic tour!

We took the Countryside Tour with Shakira two days ago. We had such a great time! We had a wonderful group with everyone being very good bicyclists. I was amazed just how far we went north of the city! The scenery was spectacular, and Shakira was excellent at finding just the right stops for great pictures. I definitely recommend this tour for anyone who has some biking experience. It’s wonderful for tourists who want to see more of the Netherlands than just Amsterdam. For my husband and me, this tour was the highlight of our trip to Europe!

The countryside bike tour was everything I hoped it would be and more! We made just the right number of stops, for just the right amount of time. Most of our time we were riding through the beautiful countryside outside Amsterdam. The e-bikes were good quality and easy to learn. Christian was a thoughtful, interesting, and fun guide. This is an experience I will never forget!

An Unforgettable Amsterdam Countryside Adventure 🚴‍♂️🌿 Our Amsterdam country bike tour with Sebastian was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. Sebastian’s warm personality, deep local knowledge, and great sense of humor made the day both fun and informative. We pedaled through charming villages, scenic canals, and picturesque farmland, stopping to admire classic Dutch windmills (and yes, take plenty of photos!). Sebastian kept the pace comfortable for all skill levels and made sure everyone felt safe and relaxed. Along the way, he shared fascinating stories about the history, culture, and traditions of the Netherlands that brought the landscape to life. The highlight was the perfect mix of breathtaking scenery, cultural insights, and lighthearted camaraderie with the group. By the end, we felt like we had experienced a slice of real Dutch life far beyond the city center. If you’re in Amsterdam and want to see the beauty of the countryside with an exceptional guide, we can’t recommend Sebastian highly enough! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — 5/5
