A beautiful place in Halmstad, we had chance to get there in Midsommer Festival. It was a miracle… good to see that Swedish people how to take care their culture.

That is very nice place but it needs something like information with sound or some brochures about its history, I mean not just walking around and taking some photos in there, we need some information about it, but still I like it....it is also very good for exercising....

The nice weather meant that there were very few people inside swimming. It was a nice bathhouse, with three slides, a jumping pool, a larger whirlpool, a smaller whirlpool, a fitness pool and a children's pool for teaching. There were three shower stalls so you could wash yourself a little more privately if you wanted. Sauna inside by the showers. Super nice bath attendants/guards. We had a fantastic afternoon and would recommend everyone a stop if you need to take a break from the children. The two things on the downside were the constant problem that there is a lot of hair on the floor in the shower area and changing room. It feels less nice of course. De två sakerna på minussidan var det ständiga problemet att det ligger massor av hår på golvet i duschutrymme och omklädningsrum. Det känns mindre trevligt så klart. Lika så så luktade toaletten jag besökte inne på damernas otroligt starkt av urin.

One of the best park in Halmstad. Sections include children's play area, Katt house, a summer restaurant, huge lawn and a water fountain. It calm and peaceful near the Nissan river. The huge lawn area hosts several events throughout the year. Last time it was a children's movie as show. There is a flea shop opens every first Sunday and second Sunday ( need to verify the opening days) near the Katt house, donations for stray kats. I have heard that you can adopt a cat from there too.

Norre Katts park has been a beloved refuge for the people of Halmstad for nearly 150 years. It all started in the 18th century, when Halmstad no longer needed to be protected by dikes and moats. Nice beach in Halmstad. The water is very quiet and clean. It is a four-kilometre-long beach. It has been named Sweden’s best beach time and time again. You can even enjoy a walk and find Tjuvahålan and Svärjarehålan. The two bays have a small beach, rocks and a jetty – perfect for a nice walk with friends and family.

We came here a day when the forecast promised rain but the sun was shining so we were pretty much alone. Amazingly wide sand beach with a lot of space for many guests. Pretty shallow water, great for the kids. Some kiosks around for Icecream and snacks.

Loved the concept of having a well maintained, well constructed swimming pool available for public access. This must be extremely popular among resident of Halmstad, especially kids. Super thumbs up!!!

Great outdoors for picnic and swimming.

Big full length pool (50m) and 2 large children pools for different age groups, clean and tidy and amazingly it’s completely free to enter. A tip is to come in the early morning (07:00 or when they open) during the summer when it’s calm, beautiful and fresh. Join some of the Halmstad pensioners for a morning swim (many into their 80s and even 90s!) who have had this tradition for decades. During the day it can get a bit busy with families but always worth a visit!

Nice place for a swim when the sea is still cold. There are 3 pools, in varying depths. There are changing rooms, bathrooms and an ice-cream kiosk. There's even basic but fun waterslide. Although the area around the pool is mostly dull concrete the rest of the area is nice and green with large open lawns.

Generally a nice place for a picnic, however, there are just too many people on the warm days. There should definitely be a entry fee where you can use changing rooms as well since it actually costs to use them right now. I genuinely think that it would be for the better.

Nice art museum focusing on art made in the county of Halland

A lovely visit here to museum is what everyone should check that one rainy day when your doing the laundry and have an extra hour to kill. This is the place to visit if the previous mentioned things fits you and your life style. Heck even if it's not raining check it.Ps: they have done some rebuilding. So it's bigger better then it was before. 👍

Nice, open place to enjoy the sun. Best thing is you can enjoy the sun and the wind from the river. So you not gonna feel so hot. It is located in the centre of the city. So almost once a week go there and enjoy after finishing shopping, eating, medical etc. There are loads of flowers and trees. Different kinds of sitting arrangements. Excellent temporary exhibition with Rodney Smith. The permanent part with art from Halmstadgruppen is not to my personal liking but provides a backdrop and a reason for showing other surrealistic related artists which is great.

This is a very fine art museum. Not big in any size but just about right if you're looking for temporary art exhibitions on special themes and occasions. I like it also because the standing exhibition on the 'Halmstad Group' is not only an idea but presented a standing exposition. Very nice and small art shop at the entrance as well as a small, but refreshing café. Very friendly museum staff! It's definitely worth any visit to come here...

We spent a beautiful day with the group. The museum is located in the green plains on the outskirts of the city. It's a beautiful location and the nature is pleasing to the eye. The staff are very kind and knowledgeable about the history of the paintings and the founders. They take you on a journey through time while you enjoy telling stories about the paintings and the characters. They also have a drawing section that gives you the opportunity to draw, showcase your skills, and relive your memories and talents. Thanks to the staff, the management, and everyone who contributed to the revitalization and sustainability of this beautiful edifice.

Must see. Even though it was close, you could get at the square inside of the castel and scrutinise the castels exterior. It is a beautiful place to take a break and enjoy the environment of the 16th century. Be aware that it is closed on Mondays, but you still can get to square and enjoy the exterior of the castle.

Hardly a 'castle' in the real sense but a beautiful reminder of local defences just a couple of centuries ago. 1890 if my memory serves me well. We (Lucy and I) simply drove in under cover of darkness to 'storm' the atrium. Top marks for historians and daring photographers! Try Varberg too - my favourite Swedish fortress <3

Date of visit: 29th August 2025 I visited Halmstad Slott on a Friday at 4 pm. We didn’t go inside the castle as it is not open for public, just admired the castle’s exterior and spent time in the charming square courtyard. The area by the Nissan River was peaceful and beautifully tranquil. An old-style ship was moored nearby, which added a lovely touch and made for some great photos. A note for future visitors: the interior is generally not open to the public, except for select guided tours on certain occasions.

Very big fun place for kids.
