Swimming pool
If you're looking for a fantastic indoor water adventure, Halmstad Arena Bad is the perfect destination, especially when the weather isn't cooperating. As Sweden's largest waterpark, it boasts an array of thrilling waterslides and an exciting adventure pool featuring cascading rapids and bubbling zones. Families will appreciate the dedicated kids' pool and play area designed for younger visitors, ensuring everyone has a blast.
This place is great. There is an activity pool with slides and a centrifuge pool for the kids. There is also a water play area for small kids. There is a large pool with swimming lanes and a large jacuzzi. There is also a sauna and steam room in the changing room. It is a very clean swimming hall.

Cold water in all swimming pool. Hot tub bubbles only work maybe 2 or 3 minutes.

Prices are extremely high, their website is outdated and I sent them an email on September 12 but never got a reply. Horrible experience. Not recommended at all

(Translated by Google) We were two families of 8 people with 4 children aged 8, 10 & 14. It was bright sunshine outside but we wanted to do something fun on the way home from Gothenburg to Malmö. The nice weather meant that there were very few people inside swimming. It was a nice bathhouse, with three slides, a jumping pool, a larger whirlpool, a smaller whirlpool, a fitness pool and a children's pool for teaching. There were three shower stalls so you could wash yourself a little more privately if you wanted. Sauna inside by the showers. Super nice bath attendants/guards. There was a kiosk inside the bathhouse but unfortunately it closed two hours before the actual bath. We had a fantastic afternoon and would recommend everyone a stop if you need to take a break from the children. The two things on the downside were the constant problem that there is a lot of hair on the floor in the shower area and changing room. It feels less nice of course. Likewise, the toilet I visited in the women's section smelled incredibly strongly of urine.

This century-old museum showcases historic buildings from around the province of Halland, providing a firsthand experience of life in the olden days. Great ambiance. The entrance fee is 40 kronor for adults. There are lovely tree houses and huts indigenous to the Swedish culture, and some cafes where you can buy a few snacks. The midsummer festival in Halmstad is often held here.

Can recommend this place. It's definitely worth visiting during the sunny days. The atmosphere brings you back to older society. This open-air museum displays a cultural history of Hallands region. You can visit traditional workshops, farmhouses, and other structures. There is even a coffee place here.

Nice outdoor experience with old Swedish houses from the 17th century. Worth a visit, especially with kids. Free but possible to leave a donation.

That is very nice place but it needs something like information with sound or some brochures about its history, I mean not just walking around and taking some photos in there, we need some information about it, but still I like it....it is also very good for exercising....

Specialty Museums
Mjellby Art Museum, established in 1980, is dedicated to showcasing changing exhibitions of works by the Halmstad Group, a collective of six local artists who sought to push the boundaries of surrealism in the 1930s. The museum offers temporary art exhibitions on special themes and occasions, along with a standing exhibition on the 'Halmstad Group'. Visitors can also explore a small art shop and enjoy refreshments at a cozy cafe.
Amazing collection of surrealist artists paintings from Sweden. Worth visiting the short movie exhibition as well
A E — Google review
Excellent temporary exhibition with Rodney Smith. The permanent part with art from Halmstadgruppen is not to my personal liking but provides a backdrop and a reason for showing other surrealistic related artists which is great.
Carl T — Google review
This is a very fine art museum. Not big in any size but just about right if you're looking for temporary art exhibitions on special themes and occasions. I like it also because the standing exhibition on the 'Halmstad Group' is not only an idea but presented a standing exposition. Very nice and small art shop at the entrance as well as a small, but refreshing café. Very friendly museum staff! It's definitely worth any visit to come here...

We spent a beautiful day with the group. The museum is located in the green plains on the outskirts of the city. It's a beautiful location and the nature is pleasing to the eye. The staff are very kind and knowledgeable about the history of the paintings and the founders. They take you on a journey through time while you enjoy telling stories about the paintings and the characters. They also have a drawing section that gives you the opportunity to draw, showcase your skills, and relive your memories and talents. Thanks to the staff, the management, and everyone who contributed to the revitalization and sustainability of this beautiful edifice.

Fine sand beach with a beautiful view. Perfect beach for family with kids which means it can get really crowded on a warm summer day. There are restaurants close by and public toilets too.
Joy G — Google review
Very nice white sand beach! Great for long walks bathe with some algae in the sea! You will get a foul smell in the morning due to see weed and algae floating to shore. Very well maintained beach 🏖️ with plenty of free parking, toilets and restaurants nearby. Its best on the Sunny days as there isn’t so much wind due to bushes and sand piles on the end of shore. If you have a good company or looking for a solace then this beach is apt! Enjoy

Definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in Sweden. When I am here it really doesn't feel like I am visiting a beach in Sweden. Definitely a most go

Nice beach in Halmstad. The water is very quiet and clean. It is a four-kilometre-long beach. It has been named Sweden’s best beach time and time again. You can even enjoy a walk and find Tjuvahålan and Svärjarehålan. The two bays have a small beach, rocks and a jetty – perfect for a nice walk with friends and family.

We came here a day when the forecast promised rain but the sun was shining so we were pretty much alone. Amazingly wide sand beach with a lot of space for many guests. Pretty shallow water, great for the kids. Some kiosks around for Icecream and snacks.

The library offers free entry and boasts an impressive collection of books and other materials, making it a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. The interior is spacious and airy, providing a comfortable environment for reading or studying. Additionally, there are facilities for children to play while adults enjoy the library's offerings.
Great architecture for exterior and interior. Main interesting part of this library is the concept of the building. The building is designed to respect the surrounding trees. Even inside the building there was a tree, without cutting this tree, the building is built. And a good environment for readers and children.

One baby pool and one standard pool for swimming exercise. The big kids pool has one centrifuge attraction, three water slides and one diving tower and one springboard. Both kids pool and baby pool are heated. A cafe serves ice cream, snacks, soda and coffee all allowed to be consumed in the swimming area.

Halmstads Slott, also known as Halmstad Castle, was built in 1615 under the orders of King Christian and has undergone several restorations while still maintaining its original renaissance architecture. It stands as a significant piece of regional history and serves as the residence of the governor of Halland County. The castle offers guided tours twice a year, allowing visitors to explore its rich history and beautiful architecture.
Very nice place from outside, I had no chance to visit inside yet.
Mozhdeh — Google review
Must see. Even though it was close, you could get at the square inside of the castel and scrutinise the castels exterior. It is a beautiful place to take a break and enjoy the environment of the 16th century. Be aware that it is closed on Mondays, but you still can get to square and enjoy the exterior of the castle.
Eldar — Google review
Hardly a 'castle' in the real sense but a beautiful reminder of local defences just a couple of centuries ago. 1890 if my memory serves me well. We (Lucy and I) simply drove in under cover of darkness to 'storm' the atrium. Top marks for historians and daring photographers! Try Varberg too - my favourite Swedish fortress <3
Ian M — Google review
Date of visit: 29th August 2025 I visited Halmstad Slott on a Friday at 4 pm. We didn’t go inside the castle as it is not open for public, just admired the castle’s exterior and spent time in the charming square courtyard. The area by the Nissan River was peaceful and beautifully tranquil. An old-style ship was moored nearby, which added a lovely touch and made for some great photos. A note for future visitors: the interior is generally not open to the public, except for select guided tours on certain occasions.

Simstadion, also known as the Aquatics Offence, is the largest outdoor pool complex in the city and is situated next to the sea. It features a 50-meter pool with designated lanes for swimming practices, a teaching pool, a toddler pool, and a waterslide. The pools are filled with purified seawater from the ocean itself. Visitors can enjoy free entry and are advised to visit early in the morning during summer for a calm and refreshing experience.
Big full length pool (50m) and 2 large children pools for different age groups, clean and tidy and amazingly it’s completely free to enter. A tip is to come in the early morning (07:00 or when they open) during the summer when it’s calm, beautiful and fresh. Join some of the Halmstad pensioners for a morning swim (many into their 80s and even 90s!) who have had this tradition for decades. During the day it can get a bit busy with families but alwaysThey should clean some areas, but otherwise it was cool, maybe a bit too crowded but it was a very beautiful day so I can’t say anything about that! Nice place for a swim when the sea is still cold. There are 3 pools, in varying depths. There are changing rooms, bathrooms and an ice-cream kiosk. There's even basic but fun waterslide. Although the area around the pool is mostly dull concrete the rest of the area is nice and green with large open lawns.
Ross K — Google review
Generally a nice place for a picnic, however, there are just too many people on the warm days. There should definitely be a entry fee where you can use changing rooms as well since it actually costs to use them right now. I genuinely think that it would be for the better.

(Translated by Google) Absolutely the best place in Halmstad in my opinion, Lungy and nice, fresh air as long as the military is not out rolling with their power packs, I myself carried a camera during my military service 😁 I have been here on and off since the 70s, can go here for hours, almost always bringing a light lunch with me which I enjoy by the view. Recommended all year round, some background noise from military activities is included. 😎

Tapas restaurant
Restaurant
Pinchos in Halmstad offers a unique dining experience with a variety of small dishes inspired by global cuisines. The restaurant provides a fun atmosphere and an extensive selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Customers can enjoy the delicious set children's menu and the recommended dishes like shrimp waffle, salmon tartare, and beef taco. While it's a great place to dine and have fun trying different meals with friends, some find it expensive due to the small portion sizes.
Really good place with tasty foods and drinks. Really easy to order with their app. Service is pretty fast they make the drinks in 3-5 mins and food in 10-30 mins.
Anas M — Google review
Good food but very expensive. 49kr for a very tiny tapas, and you need at least 4-5 to be a normal meal in a restaurant. So about 200-250 kr for a meal, which would get you a meal in a more upscale restaurant.
Magnus W — Google review
Must eat here! 5 out of 5 at least!!! #1 just delicious. Every plate better than the last. #2 Employees were SUPER friendly and nice. Came in at 1900 little Lordåg rush time and the place was packed! And ALL the employees treated our party really nicely! The cooks were really friendly also despite getting SLAMMED by rush hour. #3 Non Alcoholic passion fruit mojito recommend. #4 Shrimp waffle and Salmon Tartare and beef taco recommend. #5 So the trick for new pincho people is too order your drink and 3 plates right away. Make sure they are different from your friends! Then share with your friends!! Then order 3 more plates right when your first three plates arrive. That way, when you finish your first three plates... Your next three are ready!

Delicious food. Tasty drinks. Cosy atmosphere. Good service. What more can anyone ask for? 🎪👏🏻
Charlie N — Google review
TLDR: Good food, but room for improvement with the rest of the experience. The food is good and the concept very nice with this Tapas-style food, however it is way to expensive if you want to try it all(or most) and you often leave kind of still hungry and the desire to stop by McD to fill up with a cheeseburger. This should not be the case for a 300 - 500 kr dinner. Service is non-existing by design, you order in an app, you pick up the food yourself and you pay in the app. On this Sunday evening it was quite slow and about 1/4 of the tables was occupied. Still, almost everybody was placed in the center of the restaurant. We had 4 other tables occupied within 2 meters of our tabel while the rest of the tables was almost empty. This could have been alot better.
Ted M — Google review
Are not following the Swedish and European laws regarding handicap accessibility. They asked us if we needed some help since one in your party uses a wheelchair and we said yes but after that we never saw any staff at all.
Magnus K — Google review
Pinchos is a restaurant where you can meet with friends or family, the decoration is nice and the waiters are very friendly. The negative side : It's very expensive, a tiny pan of Risotto is 49.00 kr, pasta with cream and a little meat 59.00 kr ... You should not go there if you are hungry, but prefer a nice restaurant with a real dish.
Laly S — Google review
Very interesting concept, but realisation is a bit below this level. The reservations are systematic and usually have some bugs. Self service is not what I prefer, and no way to order an exclusion from the dish in case you are allergic. Illogical thing also fast food concept with waiting for order for longer than an hour.

The establishment also provides the perfect setting to catch live sports on TV while indulging in delicious American-style cuisine such as burgers and ribs. The friendly staff ensures a pleasant experience for guests, even accommodating furry friends with water.
We ordered lunch, and the food tasted excellent. Then we were supposed to play bowling, and the waiter charged us 100 kroner more than he should have. We let him know when we were done playing, and then we got to play billiards for an hour for free + two free sodas. Thank you Claudian(?), for your excellent service. Very nice and always smiling. One of the best park in Halmstad. Sections include children's play area, Katt house, a summer restaurant, huge lawn and a water fountain. It calm and peaceful near the Nissan river. The huge lawn area hosts several events throughout the year. Last time it was a children's movie as show. There is a flea shop opens every first Sunday and second Sunday ( need to verify the opening days) near the Katt house, donations for stray kats. I have heard that you can adopt a cat from there too.
ARUN A — Google review
Norre Katts park has been a beloved refuge for the people of Halmstad for nearly 150 years. It all started in the 18th century, when Halmstad no longer needed to be protected by dikes and moats. The fortifications deteriorated and were demolished, and a royal letter ordered the sale. An auction was held in 1737, and the area was sold to councilor Berndt Liedberg for 17 daler 12 öre silver coins. In 1843, the innkeeper AJ Sjögren paid 2,000 riksdaler for "Norre Katt in Halmstad's western fence between the main country road and Nissan" Regarding all of this, the park is close to the city center.

Cabins are very new, comfortable and cosy. Camping site in general is very well maintained and very tidy, staff is very friendly and helpful. Location and beach is just awesome. We had a very beautiful vacation here.
Simon M — Google review
The weather was fantastic considering it's in Sweden. The bathrooms and the showers where clean and there where great camping grounds. But most of the showers had some sort of problem, either the temperature was not changeable or it was not possible to use the overhead shower. The placement wasn't very great either since they placed my family and possibly others at the youngsters area. There was a lot of noice and music at both day and night. But overall I'm happy with my experience.
Oliver W — Google review
It is super loud! Third time we have been there. Beautiful place but seems like there is a place for youngsters liking parties. There are plenty othe places to go where you can sleep nicely over night. I'm not going there any more.
Jaroslaw W — Google review
Very good location, many children's playgrounds, management is a bit poor, and despite putting in a lot of security, the crowds of young people staying in it brought nightmarish noise. Although the customer service staff kindly reminded that there was noise, but not for the beach, who would come to this camp. After checking in, I found that everything was beyond imagination: despite the presence of many security personnel, the music lasted from 07.30 to 24.00 in the morning, and the noise continued until 2.00. For those who like quiet, this is a two-day nightmare. If you like outdoor crazy parties, come here, you will not regret it!
Jun Z — Google review
Nice place, not to long walk to the beach, about 6-7 min. We have been here every year the last 5 years and still going so have to mean something. Always had to bring our own barbecue, but now that's available as well.
Sigge S — Google review
Good location, but bad infrastructure. The beach is very nice, but unfortunately that is the only positive I can say about this camping. The toilets and showers were dirty and shabby. Always at least one toilet broken or without toilet paper. And even if they all worked, there are not enough toilets and showers for the camping size. Also at least 1 laundry machine is broken. But the adult men behaving like teenagers and playing music loudly all day and shouting all night is what really makes this camping a hell. And the camping staff and/or night watch hardly does anything to guarantee the quiet hours. When confronted with the situation they avoid their reponsability by saying that that will look into it, but nothing happens. Based on the numerous similar bad reviews, this is a yearly recurring problem that they should be aware of by now and should have plenty of time to resolve. If you are a family traveling with children by tent, like us, do not stay in this camping unless you are a fan of waiting a long time for a dirty toilet or shower and do not care about sleeping at night.
Kris D — Google review
One of the most beautiful seaside of Sweden is in front on the camping place - Tylosand beach. The campsite is quite big and we'll organised, but the shop is too small, the selection of bread in the morning even smaller. Fairground
Halmstad Activity Center offers a variety of activities for people of all ages and interests. The indoor Laserdome facility provides an exciting laser tag experience, while Halmstad Lasertag offers outdoor games in a forest setting. Visitors can enjoy puzzles, strategy games, and run-and-gun laser tag, as well as mini-golf in a unique dark setting. The center also features a shop with reasonably priced items.
Laser tag was fun. It's frustrating that a team can choose to be upstairs and use that as their fortress and will almost always win without having to run around on the ground floor.. The pairing of the teams can also be frustrating. We are in our mid to late 30s and in one game we were playing with kids as young as 4 or 5
Nyasha C — Google review
Many fun activities such as bouldering, gokart, prision island and more
Missis P — Google review
Laserdome is soooo fun!

We played the minigolf. It was so fun! It was dark so slightly hard to see how the boll would roll
Lovisa B — Google review
Activities for all kinds of people, relaxing to active. Puzzles and strategy all the way to run & gun lazerdome. A shop with a couple of items for most people and decent prices. A solid place.
Linus K — Google review
Great way to spend an afternoon with some friends or family. It's a little costly, but it's completely worth it concidering the endless amounts of fun one will have

Haven't tried the lazerdoom yet, maybe it's better.

Park
Djungellekplatsen - Norre Katts Park is a newly transformed playground in Halmstad, offering an exciting jungle adventure experience for kids. The highlight is the nine-meter climbing tower with a tube slide, perfect for older and adventurous children. The park also features swings, a trampoline, roundabout, animal sculptures, huts, toilets, seating areas and lighting.
Well what can I say my son aged 7 loves this park a lot.. It's very shaded by plenty of old tress covering most of the park and therefore suitable for when the sun stands high and it's getting hot for the little ones. Or as shelter when A short burst of rain de idé to show to pay a visit. Wonderful for all ages. 👍👌👌
Daniel D — Google review
A playground that suits kids between 5 to 10 yo I’d say. Fun time for the kids here even if it’s not so big.
Joel B — Google review
The kids love it.. Well built 👌

Its ok. Parts of it has been dismantled so used to be a lot better. No swings anymore and most of the climbing ropes are gone.

Garbage trampoline park, bad trampolines, the place had caught fire, everyone had to evacuate, we lost time, it was expensive and the people who left early didn't get their money back

Jonas L — Google review
(Translated by Google) Very fun team building event. But 80% of the fun depends entirely on the company. 20% of driving around a go-cart in a cramped and exhaust-filled indoor hall. I recommend bringing your own helmet. The ones the business lends out are well used. Several years of sweaty heads take their toll. The premises are spartan and well worn. The range of treats and coffee is between regular cola or zero, a bag of Ahlgren's cars or a Snickers.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately quite claustrophobic feeling and extremely many people in a small area. But it will be like that when it's only open 6-9pm a couple of days a week and everyone wants to climb at the same time. On top of that, the grading system isn't very accurate and many walls could use a refresh with newer grips.

Very big fun place for kids. I always use it as break on a way down the coast to let daughter run and get tired, quite good food, but was very long wait time after ordering the meal, almost an hour and there was not that many people. Food selling and preparation could be more efficient, therefore only 3 stars.
