Aunty Ed's Restaurant and Bar is a charming and colorful spot in Katoomba, offering a nostalgic and retro atmosphere that feels like hanging out in your Aunty Ed's living room. It's a local gem, popular among Blue Mountains locals seeking comfort and familiarity. The restaurant serves up elevated burgers, delightful desserts, and an array of drinks in a retro-style venue with a lounge.
Found this little gem whilst exploring the Blue Mountains- don't even get me started on how cozy the inside and choice of decor is. Full of jazzy vintage items and interesting collectables! So glad we stopped in for a bite to eat, I don't think we could have picked a better place. Our server was very sweet and attentive to everyone. I got a side of onion rings which was fresh and hot. A Violette Cocktail which was pretty and had a good ratio between sweet and tart. My main was a pulled pork burger with coleslaw, red cabbage & chipotle aioli- genuinely so delicious, I haven't had a pulled pork burger that was so yummy! The sauce tied it all together perfectly. Hats off to the chef! Beautiful little vintage Cafe. Would recommend to anyone. 🩷

It was my first visit to Aunty Ed's and unfortunately will be my last too. Here is a recap of my experience: - It took a while before we were attended to for a seat. Nevertheless, the wait staff was pleasant and did get us a table. - Another wait staff took our order and recommended the beef brisket as 1 of our order options. Unfortunately, this turned out to be quite an unpleasant dish. The brisket had hardly any sauce & was very stringy and dry. When I enquired if I could get more sauce as there wasnt much to begin with, I was informed that they ran out of the brisket sauce. Gravy was an option provided, but it was lumpy and had an unpleasant chemical like smell. I had to chow down the remainder of the very dry beef brisket to not be hungry. - It took 3 tries to get table water. The 3rd try was only successful when I requested from the first wait staff who seated us. - The mulled wine was on the sweeter side and while pleasant as an after dinner drink, it would have been better as less sweet with more spices to create more depth of flavour. - Also heard another patron whose order didnt arrive after waiting an hour and upon checking the ordering system, it seemed that the order wasn't put in. The wait staff expressed being stressed & busy. It would be unfair to not express some positives I saw. They were: - Decor and ambience for the place were pleasant. It was tastefully decorated & had a good colour scheme blend. - The Big Barra was pretty good. The Salsa Verde complemented the fish. The fish was beautifully cooked. Miles apart from the beef brisket. - They accept cash or card for payment. But do note that they do have a surcharge for card payments. These positive points were the salvaging points of rating this place a 2 instead of lower.

We stumbled onto a restaurant called Aunty Ed's Katoomba. From the outside, we couldn’t see much, just a sign and a doorway. When we walked in, we were welcomed into a warm, quirky, back-in-the-days kind of atmosphere. Old school cassette tape, diner style booth, vintage suitcases. They were short-staffed today but the waitress and the owner didn’t miss a beat even though it was full-house. Sure we might have to remind them of our dessert order one time but all things considered, they were great. I had mulled wine and it was like a hug in the cup. Food came out piping hot. My steak was exactly how I asked for. Ice cream sundae was a hit between the kids.

I stumbled upon this restaurant after a long 4 hour hike near Three Sisters. I was feeling very hungry and thirsty and decided to head in. The atmosphere of the place is very cozy and warm. There’s even a live band but I didn’t managed to catch it as the timing wasn’t right. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries which was pretty good, tasty and juicy. They even have $6 pint beer and an $8 glass of wine. Check this place out if ya love live music and a nice cold pint of beer!

Fantastic below street diner. Looks to be a fantastic venue for music and is set up perfectly to accommodate. Lewis was fantastic and although running solo on the weeknight did an admirable job. Food was amazing, definitely will be back next time we are in town.

I drove out to Katoomba for a weekday lunch, and this place was great. The boss? was super nice, and it was clean and had a nice vibe. Definitely recommend it.

What a fun place! The decor is vintage and the playlists are too! We ordered classic dogs, baked camembert, and onions rings and it was yummy! They serve great beer and cocktails as well! Our waitress, Jessica, was so pleasant. We highly recommend Aunty Ed’s!

Great venue that brings night life to Katoomba village centre. I came here with two visitors from Japan, and they loved the retro feel to the place. The chicken wings were excellent, our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Will be coming back again with extra coins for my boys to enjoy the arcade games! Apparently the hot dogs are worth trying too.

Nestled within the luxurious Lilianfels Katoomba, Darleys Restaurant is a top-notch dining destination in the Blue Mountains. The restaurant exudes an old-world charm with its historic setting in Sir Frederick Darley's 100-year-old homestead, featuring elegant decor like crystal chandeliers and stained-glass windows. Renowned for its fine dining experience, Darleys offers a candlelit ambiance overlooking the beautiful gardens and rocky outcrop.
A gem restaurant in The Blue Mountains. We experienced outstanding food and service and great advice with wine selection. A memorable, romantic dinner!!
Marjorie N — Google review
My husband and I recently had dinner at Darley’s. While the ambience and service were lovely, the food unfortunately didn’t quite live up to the high expectations, especially given the overall cost. It’s a little surprising that this is a "hatted" restaurant. At $145 per person, you’re offered three courses from their "Ode to Autumn" menu. My husband chose the scallop ravioli, dry-aged steak, and carrot pudding, while I opted for the quail, lamb, and chocolate cake. The entrees were a little underwhelming. The quail was noticeably underseasoned (another review mentioned this), and the construction of the scallop ravioli was a little puzzling. It featured ossietra caviar — a premium ingredient — but it was placed directly onto a hot scallop ravioli with consommé, which unfortunately made the caviar warm and soft, losing its usual flavour and texture. It felt like a missed opportunity to let such a luxury ingredient shine. To add to that, the scallop inside the ravioli was sadly overcooked and a bit stringy. Thankfully, the mains were a highlight. The steak was beautifully cooked, full of flavour, and the lamb was delicious — even though it was well done, it remained juicy and tender. The dessert, however, left my husband a little confused. The carrot pudding felt more like a warm shredded carrot salad than a traditional baked pudding. The texture was uneven, somewhere between crunchy and soft, and wasn’t quite what he was expecting. To add to the slight mix-up, he also received the orange snaps that were meant to be part of my dessert — perhaps a small oversight on the night. I'm normally not this critical, but given the price point and having experienced other restaurants in a similar range, I do feel there’s some room for refinement, particularly with the menu design and execution. At this stage, I wouldn’t be rushing back, but if there were a refresh of the menu down the track, I’d be open to giving Darley’s another try.
Aiko C — Google review
Posh elegant restaurant with warm staff and service. Unfortunately, the food were not up to mark. Too heavy handed on the salt for the entree and appetizer. The pan -fried Murray cod was fresh and well charred except for the overwhelming salt on the sauce and too rich for our taste buds. The scallop was not fresh as we expected but on the whole it's Ok. Our highlight is the main with the Black onyx Angus beef; perfect timing on the inside and well burnt on the outside. Great pairing for our red. Our greatest disappointment is the new introduced dessert, the fresh pineapple with sorbet & passion fruit was overly sweet that it doesn't balance with the blending to enhance the flavors. It's a nice restaurant but not perfect.

Beautiful venue, heavenly ambiance, outstanding service and the food, the set up, and everything else in between was amazing! Its our fourth date here, and its always spot on. Always having the best time here hith the lomf. Truly fine dining.

Booked to stay at the sister property echoes, we requested to have dinner at Darley’s restaurant one of the nights and we are so glad we did. The food was amazing! Specially the lemon meringue tart at the end was a perfect finish. The service was lovely also. We will defiantly be coming back!
Brook — Google review
This was our 3rd dinner at Darleys. The 1st one some years ago was out of this world. The second, 2 years ago was poor. The food was disappointing as was the portions. Everyone misses the mark so 3rd time lucky we thought! Not. Dinner on the 18th of July was worse than 2 years ago. Entree was two of the tiniest scallops. Our mains were pathetic. We were after quality not quantity but we got neither. The deserts were consistent with the entree and main and missed the mark all together. For the price they charge you are much better off eating at Echoes restaurant. There food, service and ambiance is out of this world. Price wise is was roughly the same but I paid there bill with a sense of satisfaction and ease knowing we had an outstanding meal and experience. The same cannot be said for our experience at Darleys. So so disappointing
Peter B — Google review
Fine dining restaurant at Lilianfels. Attentive service, well executed and technical dishes that came out at a comfortable pace. Serving sizes are what you would expect of this style of dining and we were happy with the "additional" courses that fitted around the "3 course menu" option. One disconcerting moment was being advised the sides were an additional charge when there is no mention of this in the menu. The wine selection is appropriate and reasonably priced again taking into account this level of dining. Overall a pleasant dinner service matching the rest of the well appointed stay at Lilianfels.

Sublime. So many indulgences to poke a fork at! A true experience of fine dining nestled in a tranquil ambience and stylish decor. Our waiter had impeccable customer service etiquette. The set menu was truly appetising and satisfying, catering for various dietary requirements. A delightful experience! I look forward to dining there again soon.

Avalon Restaurant & Cocktail Bar is a vintage and unique eatery located in the historic Savoy picture theatre in Katoomba. The restaurant offers a playful art-deco charm with retro decor and stunning mountain views. It hosts four different entertainment nights, including the Supper Club featuring local acts and a delectable menu, and the Rhythm Lounge with unique cocktails and all-vinyl DJ sets from the '60s and '70s.
First visited this place a couple of years ago and always said would come back if we made it back to the Blue Mountains. So glad we did. Food is just as great as we remember, Incredibly cool decor and vibe and staff just as cool. Have already recommended to friends who are visiting later in the year. Make sure you include a cocktail. Never change.

First time here last night and was not disappointed! The food and ambiance was on point. Vintage, warm and enjoyable. We had the pani puri, homemade hummus, cauliflower main and salmon which all so yummy! Didn’t have room for dessert! Cocktail is Garden of Avalon/ fruity and delicious! Will definitely return thank you for everything!

The food was sensational. A variety of options for dietary needs was welcome. The ambience was very nostalgic and the use of the old building is great. The salmon and the Camembert (I had gluten free bread) are definitely worth going for alone! Oh, and the dessert cocktails were great too!

Found plastic in my food. I came here thinking it was going to be good as it is highly rated but i also didn’t have too many high expectations coming from Sydney and having been to many amazing restaurants. As i was chewing the zucchini flowers I bit into a big piece of plastic (not sure what it was) but i could get sick if i just rushed and ate the food. I’ve informed the waiter and was given a complimentary drink (the waiter is nice so nothing negative towards the waiter) After finding plastic in my food i asked my husband to cancel the booking for the following day. The portions here are good however the taste and flavours were very bland. I had the potato rosti (ordered large as a main) which they claimed was vg = vegan but it had dairy/cheese when i tasted it. Luckily i’m not vegan but they shouldn’t claim it’s vegan if dairy was used. I couldn’t finish the food and they gave a raw lettuce/rough chop raw tomato in a bowl on the side which reminds me of simple takeaway restaurants. My husband had the steak and he didn’t like it and said there was no flavour, tough and the potatoes were old/bland, I had a bite of the potato and it tasted like reheated leftovers. For this type of quality / lack of flavours they shouldn’t be charging this much. Really grateful we skipped dessert and cancelled our booking for the next day.

After walking for six hours in the freezing cold and wind in the Blue Mountains, Avalon was a welcome respite. The fireplace, soft lanterns, and comforting lighting made it feel warm and cosy. We were glad we had booked as the restaurant filled up quickly. We started with cups of tea served in vintage floral teacups, a lovely touch. The menu had a bit of everything, but we both chose the bacon-wrapped slow-cooked lamb shoulder with mashed potato, roast tomato, peas, snow peas, kale, and red wine jus. The portions were very generous. The lamb was cooked perfectly—so tender it didn’t even need a knife. It was exactly the hearty meal we needed after a long day of walking. Dessert was incredible. We had the chocolate truffle cake, which was basically a warm, fudgy brownie with rich chocolate sauce. The baked licorice cheesecake was fantastic—never had anything like it before. It was creamy, a huge slice, and served with fresh sliced strawberries. I wish I could eat this every day; I’ll be thinking about it for months to come. Really loved this experience, a perfect ending to our day in the Blue Mountains.
Isabella C — Google review
A beautiful local restaurant. Serve local food and wines. Excellent service. We had duck confit and lamb. Both dishes were beautifully presented, with fresh and tasty greens and sides. Our only complaint in both dishes was that the meat was a bit dry (but very flavorful)
Shulamit R — Google review
This was one fine dining experience down memory lane in a fairly eclectic setting. Excellent dishes beautifully presented, friendly and helpful staff all immaculately dressed, and just a setting and décor one could not find anywhere else. We were a family of three including a 10-year-old who really enjoyed her experience. So much so she even took the extra step to express her rating on the table paper – evidence attached. We had no alcohol but at $140 for three people include entre and mains we found Avalon excellent value for money.

Nestled within the stunning Fairmont Resort & Spa, Sublime Lounge is a haven for those who appreciate a blend of relaxation and sophistication. This chic bar invites you to unwind with its all-day dining options, whether you're indulging in a delightful Devonshire Tea or savoring an afternoon glass of fine Australian wine while soaking in breathtaking views of the resort grounds. The lounge's cozy ambiance is enhanced by a charming fireplace, making it an ideal spot during winter months.
Had a nice casual dinner at Sublime Lounge. We enjoyed the Penne Pasta and Caesar Salad with Chicken plus chips.

I have afternoon tea with a friend, once a week at Sublime Lounge. Whilst we enjoy the coffee and cakes we choose, it is the exceptional service of 2 members of staff, that also makes our visits memorable. Karen welcomes us like old friends, makes delicious coffee and delivers it with a smile. The other staff member is a young man, whose name I don't know. Like Karen, he is extremely friendly, and more than happy to chat to 2 "old ducks". We look forward to seeing their smiling faces every week.

Ordered as room service at the Fairmont hotel and the food was pretty awful. Not only did it arrive cold after almost an hour of waiting it I actually couldn’t eat my mushroom burger. It cost $71 for two burgers and a side of broccoli (the broccoli was over cooked and came as a couple of cold pieces on a plate for $18). Overall I would recommend avoiding eating at this place or ordering room service as even if the food hadn’t been cold it still would have been mediocre at very best- would advise ordering dominoes instead

Located in the Lobby of the Fairmont resort. Serves as all day dining and bar for the hotel. Good range of staple menu options. Has a fireplace, which gives the lounge a cosy feel during winter. They have happy hour in the afternoons and it does get quite busy during that time. Friendly staff.

Great dining experience. Food and Service is decent! Love that they are opened from morning to evening. And they serve coffees, snacks, as well as light and full meals.

During our stay at the Fairmont Resort we had a chance to dine at a few of their venues: the Sublime Lounge and both the Embers Bar and the Embers Restaurant. Food was always fresh and tasty. Cocktails were amazing. Staff in the entire food section was fantastic but special thanks to Karen from Embers restaurant (magnificent hospitality) and Nick from Embers bar for warm and very friendly service. Thank you!

Our S&P calamari didn’t come with aioli (as per the menu), the meatball pasta didn’t have any meatballs (just pieces of meat), and the chicken nuggets were supermarket quality at best. Expensive for what you get.

Came here with my wife on a random Saturday, amazing and attentive service by the bar. Had a good chat about whiskies and was quite impressed with the dining/snacks menu. All the staff were amazing and recommended awesome drinks, we had cocktails and some specialty whiskies which were great. Will be back again and also order the house “Two Doctors” whiskey after comparing with Jameson and Glenlivet. Definitely recommend this place whether you stay at the Fairmont or not. Live music was great too!

Bowery is a charming and unique dining spot located in a converted church, offering an atmospheric and vibrant setting for visitors. The spacious dining area features stunning decor with interesting artworks and collectibles, creating a captivating ambiance. The modern menu emphasizes sharing dishes and includes a variety of options, with a focus on vegetarian fare such as the fabulous cauliflower dish. Guests can enjoy their meals indoors or dine al fresco in the leafy courtyard, which is also dog-friendly.
This restaurant is, by far, one of my favourites in Katoomba. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and time at The Bowery. Highlights were: - The restaurant is in what was previously a church. With that, the high ceilings and tasteful decor with great reuse of the pews for some of the seats. All of it gives a contemporary grandeur feel to the place. - The wait staff were very welcoming, friendly and patient. They were all smiles during the time I was there. They were also attentive to the guests and love the fact that they were also very pleasantly engaging. - The coffee was decent and a large sized coffee truly did feel large. This was a really nice welcome as a lot of other cafes i have been to do not usually have large sized coffees like how these guys have made it. More importantly, the coffee tasted good hot and even when it cooled down. - Between the chicken rendang benedict and pulled osso bucco, my favourite is on the chicken rendang. It was a really good fusion between Southeast Asian & American flavours. The rendang is more reminiscent of indonesian rendang flavours. For folks who are familiar with Southeast Asian flavours, they may find it on the lighter side the seasoning. Nevertheless, I personally felt it was a good balance of the hollandaise sauce and the rendang seasoning. - The pulled osso bucco was paired well with fresh salad and pickles. Some of the pickles can be pretty tart for those who are not used to it. In some ways I could understand the pairing as it cut through the grease from the meat. One thing I did kind of wish was part of the dish was a portion of the marrow as it was what I associated with osso bucco. All in all, an extremely pleasant dining experience in a very lovely venue. A place that is on my to go back again in the future.

“Lamb shank is our 2nd most popular dish, after the Nasi Goreng - who would have ever thought - we put it on the menu for a joke”! So quipped our hilarious waiter, wearing board shorts and a Hawaiian shirt, while outside it was puffer jackets and woolly hats! In some ways, it summed up our evening. Excellent food, a genuine and personable service, and a warm and homely atmosphere in the renovated church. The lighting, furniture and ambience left you with a warm glow. The lamb shank was amazing by the way - the best I’ve ever eaten? Most likely. You’ll enjoy the lovely menu, friendly service and a few nice drinks. We’ll be back. A great place for a romantic evening out or a fun evening with friends and family.

A wonderful set up in an old church. Great decor. We ate on a reasonably quiet Monday night, but the atmosphere was still lovely. I imagine the nights with live music are fantastic. The food was delicious and very well presented. A wide and varied selection for vegetarians. Good wine list and lots of tempting cocktails.

What a wonderful evening spent at the Bowery by myself and two granddaughters. Food was absolutely wonderful….the girls can recommend the doughnut fries…., but the atmosphere was what truly made this a lovely evening. Staff are absolutely wonderful and the girls were treated beautifully and made to feel very grown-up on a special night. Can highly recommend if you’re visiting Katoomba.

We came to Bowery on the recommendation of staff member Riley from Avalon Restaurant in Katoomba . This restaurant was amazing from the moment we walked in the door . It’s an old Presbyterian church and the decor is incredible . The food , cocktails and service were fabulous. Special mention to Riley for his warm , friendly welcoming manner . His service was absolutely outstanding . We will definitely be back next time we’re in town , and will recommend both the Avalon and Bowery restaurants

Katoomba RSL is a popular spot for both locals and visitors in the Blue Mountains. The Red Poppy Brasserie, located opposite the club, offers a family-friendly environment with entertainment options for kids such as pinball machines and air hockey. The cafe also provides delicious meals at reasonable prices, including special deals on certain days of the week. Visitors can easily become temporary members to enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and tasty food.
Katoomba RSL, its food, service, and atmosphere. Customers frequently praise the friendly and attentive staff, the quality of the meals, and the overall welcoming environment. While some reviews mention inconsistencies in specific dishes or interactions with certain staff members, the general consensus is that it's a great place for a relaxed and enjoyable meal, especially for families.

Located at 86 Lurline Street, Katoomba, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 A good little lunch to come to for a meal. Everyone in my group seemed to be happy with their meal, but I had the prawn pasta and I found it to be a very bland, not a lot of taste. I paid $27 so I was a little disappointed. The staff were friendly enough but when I went to the bar, I was standing there waiting to get served and the two staff were just chatting, basically ignoring me. Very blasé. I have been to better clubs. The menu is your typical bistro style food, offering a decent selection. The club itself is nicely designed, very open and it’s wheelchair accessible which was good for our group. Overall, it’s an average club, good for convenience 🤷‍♀️ but I have been to better clubs.
Nerine C — Google review
We were recently in Katoomba and a local told us that the RSL was the best place to go for dinner. The club itself if great, fairly modern and staff are friendly and welcoming. We booked a table at the Red Poppy Brasserie and were greeted by a lovely staff member who showed us to our table and explained the menu, specials and how to order. The meals were lovely, flavourful and generous is sizing. The only thing we could agree to fault, was the food temperature- it just wasn’t hot enough. It was warm, edible - but not hot like you would expect. We were looking for desert, but that is ordered at a different part of the club and was very limited in options. The area it was served in was very loud due to live music and meat raffles taking place. The desert and coffee was ok. The had a quick look through the gaming area and was supposed to see poker tables set up with full tables of people playing, there is also a wide variety of gaming machines on offer. We enjoyed our meals but not sure we would order those again - maybe try something more simple that will be served at a more desirable temperature.

Such a lovely club. Really nice seeing some older generation men working. So much respite and class they have. 6pm and the club stopped as they played the last post with a mix of waltzing matilda in it. Was very emotional and lovely to hear. Food was delicious and generous portions.

My tour group made a stop at the Katoomba RSL for a lunch break, and it was such a welcoming place. Upon entering, I was struck by the warmth of the atmosphere and the variety of dining areas available. We were served a preset meal, and I chose the fish and chips. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the service came, and the food was not only hot but also very enjoyable. I found myself curious about the meaning of RSL. My tour guide explained that it stands for Returned and Services League, which is similar to veteran services in the US. There were medals proudly displayed by the entrance, a touching tribute to those who have served. During my visit, I also appreciated the ample free parking, making it even easier for everyone to enjoy their time there. It felt like a genuinely inclusive space, and I left feeling grateful for the experience.

Had dinner at Red poppys, ordered corn ribs, Arancini, chicken schnitzel(with parmigiana) and T-bone steak. The corn ribs and Arancini were excellent. The parma was missing the ham and i felt was a little dry and the T-bone was good as well

I visited the Katoomba RSL primarily to attend The Radiators concert. The staff at front desk were friendly as were all the bar staff and in Red Poppy brasserie. I do recommend reserving a table as the brasserie was at capacity and the order queue long. We ordered the weekly special "Lamb shanks" and were disappointed it was just one shank, when the picture advertised showed two. The meat although tender was bland, lacking a jus with some blandish tomato sauce instead. The mash potato lacked seasoning and was cold. We also ordered the salt'n'pepper squid which was great, crispy and tender. Also ordered the Steak Sandwich and happy to report the meat was not chewy. The auditorium used for the concert was set up like a conference or a church sermon with rows of seats. Not the best setup for a rock concert. It was also disappointing there was a bar in the room but not being utilised, you had to go out to the main bar for your drinks. Then you had to pour your drinks into plastic cups. Normally I'd understand if there was a hardwood floor but the whole venue was carpeted, it felt unnecessary and not an environmentally friendly option as there are now extra glasses that need to be washed and extra rubbish for the plastics

Food was under my expectations. Is it RSL ? ..Burger Bun cold, Chicken was overcooked, not enough chips.. Beef Cheeks, it's just a tiny PC's of meat.. No flavour..3 Floor staff, 2 just standing at the counter and watching the customer and talking to each other. Lava cake has no sauce.. and chef excuse as they house made and it's hard to do.. Then why are you putting it to the board.. It's not worth eating there...

Blaq Restaurant & Bar is a delightful culinary gem nestled within the charming Kyah Boutique Hotel in Blackheath, New South Wales. This stylish eatery embraces a hyper-local menu philosophy, showcasing fresh ingredients sourced from nearby gardens and local producers in the Greater Blue Mountains and Central Ranges. The ambiance is enhanced by its elegant design, featuring views of a magnificent century-old cherry tree that adds to the restaurant's unique charm.
the food was great, will be recommending to people and will be coming back. Kitchen staff, keep doing what you're doing. food came out fast enough and good portions and extremely delicious. however, the wait staff, I see the potential but I think management needs to send the newer staff to serving lessons or clearing table lessons. some of our table was cleared while there was still food on the plate and they come back asking if we're done with rest WHILE I had my fork on my potatoes to eat. I had to say no this time. There seemed to be a manager/supervisor who was dressed different to the wait staff, he needs to be doing more managing and less doing wait staff work so he can see the flow the floor. he just looked really anxious hovering over the tables and his staff which looks like made them anxious and made us anxious. This place is really nice, nice vibes, nice decor, I will still come back. I hope their newer wait staff can be more confident when serving.

Part of the KYAH hotel, BLAQ had a really nice vibe. Service was good. Smalls were nice, I liked the Manchego Cheese Tart more than the hash brown. The steak was good. Unfortunately, I had a fair few bones in the dory and I personally didn't like the shrimp sauce. Brussel sprouts were great. The winner was dessert with the Madeleines which were fresh out of the oven and amazing. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

We had a great night at BLAQ, nice food and drinks. It’s very popular so make sure to make a reservation. The place is beautiful too, modern and cozy lights. All the food was good but the brussel sprouts were a bit too salty. And one more comment I think it’d be good for the restaurant to work on their acoustics because it was quite noisy even though everyone was just chatting at normal levels.
Jasmijn T — Google review
The food was amazing! We were there on a Tuesday, so had the Blaq out menu which gave us a good chance to try all of the small dishes and we loved it. The only thing that let the experience down was the service. The servers were very nice and friendly when serving you, but lacked the attentiveness around the dining room. One girl was on her phone at the bar, which we found didn’t fit the vibe that the restaurant was trying to give off. We had also mentioned in our booking that we were celebrating a special occasion, but nothing was done to acknowledge this. We didn’t mind, but just thought it was a bit pointless to ask if it didn’t matter anyway. Would still recommend because the food is amazing!

Our first time here and Blaq is worth the drive to Blackheath from Sydney. Attached to the Kyah Hotel, it was in a beautiful garden setting Food was elevated. Nice flavours and creative pairings for the ingredients. Service was excellent and the staff could answer our questions regarding the menu. The menu is designed to be shared. Which I love as you can then taste a few things. . We would have wanted to tr everything in the small plates but alas! next time. The tuna wonton , and hash brown were on point. It really is worth sharing so you can get the bigger plates as well. We had the fried chicken, the lamb rack and a fish with a side of Brussel sprouts. Banana cake for dessert.

One of the most beautiful spaces I have walked into in a long time. Incredibly designed and SO warm and welcoming. The architecture is brilliant. The menu is diverse and interesting - the standout was the tuna and the prawns from the starter menu - the cocktails were 10/10 and the service from the manager Jess was the best I have experienced anywhere. I honestly cannot wait to come back and spend more time at BLAQ and stay at Kyah the hotel attached.
Casey B — Google review
This is an excellent restaurant, which is difficult to fault. In fact the only issue I had was I wasn't big on the beer on tap.....and that, for most, can be a matter of personal choice. The menu was not huge, and I like that. It had, for me, the perfect selection of fish, meat and veggie options that made choosing easy with neither delay nor disappointment. We each chose a main and a selection of sides (3 between 4 of us, and in truth 2 would have been enough). The belly pork was superb; just melt in the mouth and I'm glad two of us selected that. I rather think that the veggie option pushed it hard - comprising pumpkin roasted and set upon a bed of aubergine puree. Even so, the chicken green curry was well-received and washed down with beers and wines, we had a highly amusing, boredering on the raucous) evening. We are sorry that you had to ask us to leave, but you even did that with tact and we appreciate that - honestly, we just lost track of the time while we were having such a lovely evening. Solid 5 stars from me.

We had an amazing dinner at Blaq, from start to finish! Every dish was beautifully balanced, full of flavour, and perfectly presented ✨ We started with the Burrata (fig leaf oil, honey, macadamia & garlic shoot) — such a delicate and creamy combination — Hash Brown with leeks in white balsamic and chives, and the Mushroom Toast with mushroom XO and preserved truffle — rich and earthy perfection 🍄🤍 The highlight for me was the Snapper with rhubarb aguachile and radish, a fresh and vibrant recommendation from Will that I absolutely loved! 🐟💫 For mains, we shared the Fried Chicken (with Warrigal Green Curry), Chat Potatoes (with duck fat and Jerusalem artichokes), and the Brussels Sprouts — every bite full of depth and creativity. To finish, the Manchego and Plum Tart was the perfect ending — another great pick from Will! 🍷🍰 Thank you, Will -and thank you all the team- for your wonderful recommendations, knowledge, and friendly service — you truly made our night even better. P.S.: The music was on point — great tunes, perfect vibe for the evening! 🎶

Nestled in the Blue Mountains, Frankie & Mo's Wine Shop & Bar is a cozy and intimate 25-seater venue run by father-and-son duo Bob and Tom Colman. This unique spot offers a selection of good, affordable natural wines for casual wine enthusiasts. The menu features veg-heavy dishes such as bruleed brie toast, potato gnocchi, and Brussels sprouts with leeks and almond cream available from Thursday to Sunday.
5 Stars - absolutely incredible! Hands down the best dining experience we have had in the Blue Mountains. From the moment we walked in, the service was so friendly and warm. Every dish we ordered was to die for, filled with flavour, and clearly crafted with love. The wine selection was divine & the vibe throughout the evening was just fantastic - relaxed & welcoming. An absolute gem in Blackheath, 10/10!

Open 4 days per week, this place is an intimate restaurant sharing home made wines and fresh food. Go with the Feed Me that way you taste everything. A must! We're told by Tom that they're rotating chefs adding to variety to their menu. Book in advance, seating is limited. The wine tasting is a nice touch. We'll be back

Love this place. Really interesting wines by the glass, interesting and delicious food plus the building has a great atmosphere - charming and quirky almost like someones house with an open kitchen. Great place to have a long lunch or dinner

Lovely local wine bar and restaurant with a rotating roster of chefs. Food is interesting from a short menu. Wines are pretty unique. We had a lovely bottle of local Semillon. We'd return.

OMG WOW 🤩 We had dinner here Saturday night for our 28th anniversary and the food was delicious and the service by the young canadian girl was very warm and welcoming. The olives to start were tasty and the iceberg Caesar salad was crunchy and the dressing was not overpowering like the ones at other places . We also had the gnocchi and the beef brisket as well and to finish we had the ginger cake . All dishes were wine matched perfectly from the lovely girl serving us. We had a great time here and EM the chef is very talented and works amazing in that little kitchen ❤️.

What a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend this great little restaurant. Great food and in house wine made by the owner and his son. Here is an authentic restaurant in a sea of tourist traps. Such a breath of fresh air.

Well worth a trip out of your way to visit. Excellent location and outlook. I wish I had taken better photos but the food was so delicious we ate it too quickly. Tapas style so order at least three dishes for two people.

Fantastic local wine bar. This is the best spot for a fun (and delish) night in the mountains! The team create the most cosy and friendly atmosphere and help curate your experience. Their wonderful chef Jess just moved on so they have some chefs in residence coming through - and the food was incredible. Highly recommend, and make sure you buy some wines to take home!

Echoes Restaurant & Bar in the Blue Mountains is a notable dining establishment that offers traditional favorites like Riverina lamb backstrap paired with local wines. The restaurant presents substantial, straightforward cuisine with Asian and European inflections, including seafood, roasted and slow-cooked meats. While their Yulefest menu may be more Yule in name than fact, the grass-fed Riverina lamb racks are perfection. Additionally, they offer a good selection of wines to complement the dining experience.
I'm so happy I went here. It was a last-minute decision, and they just happened to have a reservation available at 5.30 pm, during Autumn. It was magical. The food was divine. The chef has obviously done some serious training. The views were spectacular. And the service was very high end. I highly recommend it.

A breath taking view of blue mountain from the table. The seafood salad starter was great. The steak was well grilled and soft. The chocolate ice cream was very creamy. However, the food just a bit salty so if you don’t like salty taste, tell the waiter when you order food.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 I booked Echoes Restaurant & Bar for my girlfriend’s birthday and it truly exceeded every expectation. The moment you step in, you’re greeted with absolutely breathtaking views of the Blue Mountains — the kind of view that makes you just pause and take it all in. The food was wonderful, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. Every dish felt thoughtful and well-made. But what really made the experience special was the service. A special mention to Keely — our lovely waitress — who was genuinely warm, friendly, and attentive. She even took her time to help us capture photos together, and did it with patience and a smile. In my online booking, I had requested a small birthday surprise — a little dessert plate with my girlfriend’s name — and the team delivered it perfectly. It felt personal, thoughtful, and heartfelt. This entire experience made our day feel truly memorable. If you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate something special — or simply want to enjoy great food with a spectacular view — I highly recommend Echoes. We will definitely be back. 💛

We recently had dinner at Echoes restaurant and wow, what a dinner it was. The food was nothing short of exceptional. One of the if not the best dinners we have had. To put a comparison we ate at a very well known hatted restaurant the night before and we can honestly say that the dinner at Echoes was miles ahead. We were left speechless. Our only regret was we didn’t eat at Echoes both nights. The dinner paired with the service and ambience was absolutely exceptional and one we will remember.

Nestled in a charming mid-century setting, Side B Vinyl Bar is a delightful haven for music lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike. By day, it serves as a vinyl record store, while by night it transforms into an inviting bar where you can sip on expertly crafted cocktails or fine wines. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, making it the ideal spot to unwind after a long day or even post-hike.
great vibe, great cocktails and we had a delicious pate and sourdough plate. I love their the idea of playing records in their entirety (we heard Led Zeppelin and Bob Dylan) and they have vinyl records to buy as well.

I came here after hiking to the Centennial Grove Grotto. The atmosphere was relaxed, and there was comfortable music playing in the background. I ordered two drinks—a beer and a cocktail. Both were great, but the cocktail, called a Charlie Chaplin, was especially good. If you enjoy sweet cocktails, you definitely have to try it. The staff were very friendly, and if you’re not sure what to order, they’re happy to help you choose. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind after a hike.

Amazing... but don't distract me from the main point, the White Russian: It's always a journey. Starts hard alcoholic hint of a Moscow/Serb winter with a whisper of curdle and natural human/cave man instinct to say, "this is something naughty from the gods". However, it could be a bit sweeter with a little more caramel/coffee hint. A touch softer on the Russian artichokedyaout with a hint of your ex's dad from vladivostok's Troynaya Kolanya (aftershave) Still, the energy, the ambiance, marbo and the vibe. This is truly a happy place where a man can watch the world pass him by and be ok with it. Train line view, puzzles a plenty and Ringo Star dazed and confused keeping your air max's company (photo match) with an energy of your warmest uncles house. The opal of Blackheath.

A great little find. I tried both the vesper and the smoked margarita. Both exceptional (and thankfully served with proper pours in adult glasses, not those half-assed measures in silly dinky thimbles). Quirky, eclectic decor and a nice selection of vinyl makes this place a cool addition to Blackheath. Thanks to Jen and the team. Will return.
