1Bouillabaisse TURFU

Fish restaurant
If you're a seafood enthusiast, then Bouillabaisse TURFU is an absolute must-try when you find yourself in Marseille. This iconic Provencal dish has its roots as a humble peasant meal but has evolved into a celebrated culinary masterpiece, complete with specific guidelines on preparation and ingredients that often spark lively discussions among chefs and foodies alike.
Not sure why people are being harsh on this takeout. They serve good and affordable Bouillabaisse. If you want a proper one, please do go to 80 euros meal fancy restaurant. As someone from Indonesia, Im sensitive when it comes to seafood freshness. I could say the fish are fresh and I enjoyed eating it a lot. Thank you so much:)
Mohammad S — Google review
I wouldn’t call it a bouillabaisse. It is better than any fish soup I had at this price, yes ! They do a different protein everyday, and I had calamari sashimi style. Owner was super friendly and chatty, speaks fluent English, and we had a nice little exchange while waiting for my food. Takeaway only, though there’s a nice wine bar just behind which allows you to bring your own food, and best it has the biggest selection of wines for tasting !
Jeremy Y — Google review
First time trying this. Really really good. The fish of the day was tuna on the day I tried it. Smooth and fresh. The soup base and stew came together really nicely. Left me wanting more after I finished it
Jason W — Google review
Not worth the effort. I had a modern interpretation of a Bouillabaisse at a nearby restaurant the night before and noticed a small queue outside TURFU, so was curious about it. I got back to Marseille quite late (just before 8pm) and it was still open and there were a few portions remaining, so I bought 1 for €15. They gave a bowl with the fish (which was cold, maybe I was late) and a bowl of warm broth. There was a whole fish (which I did not mind, I think it added to the authenticity), one tiny piece of octopus, potatoes with some blue stuff on it and some big croutons. Poured the broth over it and tucked in. It was BLAND. The fish was edible, but it was too cold to be warmed up, it also was not prepared properly, quite a bit was bitter. What was worse was the blue stuff around the potato made the broth an off-putting blue colour. It wasn't a big deal as the broth was very bland as well. I usually finish the food I am given, but not on this occasion. I can't understand the high rating, maybe people are buying the romance of the idea, or I was just unlucky? But my portion looked the same as those in other photos.
Hui S — Google review
My experience was rather poor. The flavour of broth wasn’t bad but mixed with very dry bread, plain potatoes and almost non existent fish with some bones and remnants. Yes, it’s a cheap version. Go get a good one for higher price. But still some things can be done well even for 15€. I was pretty disappointed.
Maria R — Google review
This was recommended by a local friend, and it's amazing!! The seafood taste was very flavorful and not overpowering. And it's reasonably priced!! Would definitely get it again! (Forgot to take a picture after I pour in the soup!)
Athena H — Google review
very good soup indeed, quick service, I would give it 5 stars if the soup was more hot! As the protein in the bowl is cold, when the hot soup pour inside, it's low down the temperature too much, but it's still very tasty! Ingredients are fresh and no fishy taste at all ( personally I am very sensitive for the fishy taste) I bought the soup and sit at the park nearby to take the soup. I am tourist and no expert for bouillabaisse, but surely it is a very nice fish soup, much better than another one I taste in restaurant during my stay in Marseille
Chan C — Google review
Don’t get fool from smell inside. Take it and eat in the park. It’s delicious. One of the best fish soup i’ve ever had. ( I have no idea what is bouillabaisse but it’s ok for me )

Pastry shop
Les Navettes des Accoules is a charming locale in Marseille known for serving refined pastries, including regional cookies like orange blossom barquettes. The bakery has been making navettes since the 18th century using a closely-guarded recipe and traditional methods. These boat-shaped biscuits are hard and dry but extremely tasty, with delicate orange notes. They are popular as gifts and souvenirs due to their historical significance.
Great homemade traditional bakery 🫶🏼😊 we loved this place, we meet Clemente and definitely made our visit better 🙌🏼👏🏼

Great patisserie selling local Marseille traditional sweets. Had a very nice and helpful interaction with the shopkeeper who patiently explained different products. Brought back the pastries home in a long journey and they survive the trip fine. Highly recommended!

very tasty. we didn't have enough cash on us and the staff gave us one to try for free which was very kind!

I recommend this place — the cookies were fresh, tasty, and full of flavor. Lady at the counter was friendly and welcoming. The only downside is that you can pay with a credit card from 15€.
Iryna H — Google review
Excellent traditional cookies made with white vine and olive oil.
Johannes E — Google review
I only took the traditional navettes and can't complain: the staff haa also been generous when rounding the weight/price. Prices are what they are in Marseille, especially for such a simple biscuit sold only for tradition, but at least you can buy 100g (7 biscuits) just to taste. The biscuit was sugary and crunchy as expected.
Daniele D — Google review
Nice shop selling Navettes and Macarons. The Macarons were beautiful. The Coconut and Marzipan flavours work so well.

We tried the Navettes in other place but they weren't as good Les Navettes des Accoules. Other cookies were very good too.

French restaurant
La Boîte à Panisse is a small, unassuming restaurant that offers authentic homemade cuisine without any frills. Despite its simple appearance, the food served here is delicious and worth a visit. The star of the menu is the panisse, a chickpea flour pancake that can be enjoyed with homemade sauces. This dish is not only flavorful but also caters to various dietary needs as it is both vegan and gluten-free.
We had the most wonderful experience at this cozy, family-run restaurant that radiates warmth and authenticity. The chef and his wife were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Their passion for food and hospitality is truly remarkable. The dishes are simply amazing - thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. Every bite reflected the love and care they put into their work. The menu offers a delightful selection of traditional and creative options, and everything we tried was outstanding. We enjoyed our visit so much that we made sure to come back again while we had the chance, and it was just as wonderful the second time around. This gem of a restaurant is a must-visit. Highly, highly recommended!

Super delicious. The panisse which I never had before was delicious and so were the sardines with the Lao sauce. I went back 3 days in a row!!! Especially since finding a chef that understands gluten free requirements for celiac and can make the food still mind-blowing is rare! Thank you! Will be back!

A very nice and cosy restaurant serving fresh, daily made and delicious local food. A small family establishment. Must visit if you can find a table ! It is getting popular !

We tried panisse for the first time, and it was absolutely delicious! The dish was perfectly prepared, and the warm, friendly service from the owner and staff made the experience even more memorable. It's definitely worth a visit :)

What a great find. Superb, freshly cooked food to order. Chef came out a couple of times with his scissors to cut fresh herbs for his creations. Excellent price and everyone served in turn. Highly recommended.

DONT GO. Not worthed the hype of 4 stars. Wine of a carton box in the fridge for 6'5€ 1/4l . I felt ripped off also the food was too salty to my taste. Dirty in general. I dont think this is traditional cuisine

La Maison Du Pastis, located on the Old Port in Marseille, is a vibrant shop that offers an extensive selection of over 75 types of pastis and absinthe. Visitors can also find accessories, tastings, jugs, carafes, and other miscellaneous gifts at this establishment. The company distills its own award-winning brand and sells numerous varieties of pastis along with a few homemade options. It's considered the go-to place in Marseille for purchasing and sampling pastis.
Really good experience buying small shots. Was able to digest them well which is rare given that I have a digestion medical condition
Zachary R — Google review
Great place to buy Pastis. The pastis are really good but make sure that the bottles are well sealed, as one of the bottles spilled over my clothes in the suitcase.
Sylvio H — Google review
Well, didn't have the chance to try pastis, but the shop itself is amazing! The owner is so good to talk to, with the stories about his shop, and the alcohol itself was interesting to hear. And the smell in there was something!
Ася В — Google review
Owner was very helpful with wine recommendations. Lovely woman!
B R — Google review
We got the recommendation to go into the store and it was a great experience. The Owner is a nice Lady who knows all the details and differences about, not only her own, products. If you want to get a real good Pastis this is the place to go. There are plenty of options that you can find something for a very reasonable price. Thanks for the experience and I will be back buying some new Pastis when I'm in Marseille.
Silvia B — Google review
A Pastis Lover's Paradise. Great small shop offering the largest selection of pastis's collected in one store. We stopped in after a long flight from the States and picked up three bottles, the best was one of their own brews in the tank behind the counter. Sadly we drank the bottle during our trip and wish we had bought more. I think there were 54 herbs infused in that bit of golden sunshine. A few reviews say the woman behind the counter was rude or unfriendly. We found her to be extremely friendly and helpful. This is a must stop at spot for anyone wanting real pastis!

The home of pastis in the city. The lady was very friendly and convinced us of buying their 56 plants blend by saying it was "sunlight in a bottle". There are plenty of different brands of pastis, as well as typical biscuits, sauces and jams to pair with.

Chez Fonfon is a long-standing restaurant located by the port, offering a variety of Mediterranean fish dishes and renowned for its bouillabaisse broth. The establishment has been around for 50 years and is known for its simple and tranquil atmosphere, providing an authentic experience in the heart of Marseille. Additionally, it offers the opportunity to enjoy a meal by the sea at Vallon des Auffes, immersing diners in the life of local fishermen.
Enjoyed the coastal atmosphere and delicious seafood. Although most people were understandably having bouillabaise, I had the mixed seafood over a risotto made with fish soup broth. Perfect! Dessert was amazing, and it’s best to save room for it - especially if you’re getting the bouillabaise, which can really fill you up! Servers were very kind in offering to speak in English if desired.
Gary P — Google review
Reservation was made through The Fork. Bouillabaisse did not need to be reserved. My friend and I both ordered bouillabaisse. The soup and the fish were served separately. The waiter explained (in French) how to enjoy it. The soup can be refilled as many times as you like. We only refilled once cause we were full. After meal, they served macaroons as dessert.
Wicket W — Google review
Since it’s said that bouillabaisse is a must-try in Marseille, we decided to visit this restaurant. The fish was fresh, and the service was refined, though the prices were quite high. The mackerel dish we ordered as a starter was so delicious that I’m now more curious about their other menu items than the bouillabaisse itself. While it seems walk-ins might be possible on rare occasions, I’d recommend making a reservation.
Jiwon K — Google review
Came in for some dinner, didn’t have a reservation, got sat upstairs away from the window with a view, had multiple servers who were very quick and three spoke broken English. Had the Bouillabaisse and it’s noted on the menu the dish is for one person $65, it’s huge enough to share for 2 people. They show you the fish beforehand, the sauces are very garlicky. Only bottled water, tap wasn’t offered. It was just okay in my opinion… I feel like the atmosphere is what you come there for but not having the view, and the dish being mediocre, I probably wouldn’t recommend.
Heather W — Google review
THIS is the place to have real traditional bouillabaisse! They give you croutons with the spicy garlic aioli and red aioli to spread on them and let them sit on top of the soup. Then you cut the beautifully cooked fish and created your soup sandwich. They keep refilling your bowl with more bouillabaisse broth. The saffron in the soup adds a beautiful perfume to all the bites you have. This is a MUST in Marseille and we will be back! We also thank Hermes store Celine and Johann for making the reservation for us there.
Henry F — Google review
Some of these reviews are quite unfair based on my experience here yesterday! Staff were fantastic, very attentive and friendly. They spoke great english contrary to some of the reviews I've read. Beautiful location where you can see the local fisherman boats and as far as If (if seated facing that way of course). First time having bouillabaisse and it was very flavoursome and the fish were fresh and high quality with large portions. Admittedly this was my first time tasting this dish, but this is surely a wonderful place to experience it and priced fairly. Profiterole dessert was also great (would suggest sharing this). All in all a great experience!
Martin F — Google review
Sit by a quiet little harbor, Fonfon serves the most authentic bouillabaisse I’ve had. The broth is rich and endlessly refilled, the fish incredibly fresh, young staff werw all warm and attentive, would like ri answer your all questions. The individual souo portion came with bread and plate contained 5 types of fish, made me so full after an entry dish, well, not finished, there were another dessert I ordered came for ending... The stunning view out from window made this dinner warm and fabulous,in the late summer of France, what an unforgettable experience during my weekend visit in Marseille. You have to try it.

AM par Alexandre Mazzia is renowned for its creative approach to flavors and dishes, offering one of the best culinary experiences in Provence-Alpes. The Michelin-starred restaurant serves visually stunning dishes, using natural colors and shapes to create truly unique plates. The bright, minimalist space showcases artfully presented contemporary cuisine that lingers with flavors from around the world.
Dining at AM par Alexandre Mazzia is more than just a meal—it’s like watching a carefully orchestrated show unfold, where every course is a new act filled with surprises. From start to finish, the experience was immersive, thoughtful, and full of unexpected delights. The wine pairing was exceptional, perfectly complementing each dish and elevating the flavors in ways I hadn’t anticipated. A few dishes held an element of surprise—unique textures, bold flavors, and creative combinations that kept me engaged throughout the meal. While every course was beautifully executed, my personal favorite was the miso soup. It had incredible depth, rich umami, and a comforting yet refined balance that truly stood out. I am not a dessert person, so I wasn't a big fan of the dessert. I didn't finish cos I was too full by then. If you appreciate innovative, sensory-driven dining, AM par Alexandre Mazzia is an absolute must-visit. The attention to detail, artistry, and seamless blend of flavors make for an unforgettable experience.
Season C — Google review
One of the best dining experience I ever had. A voyage as they call it. The wine pairing from the sommelier was also outstanding as he took time to listen and adjust his choices based on my preferences.
Stephane B — Google review
Exceptionally creative, expressive cuisine a sensory journey weaving cultural identity with technique. Open, inclusive setting: no pretentiousness—just artful food and warm conviviality. Stimulating pace: rapid succession of dishes keeps curiosity and taste buds engaged. AM par Alexandre Mazzia is a daring, unforgettable experience that redefines modern haute cuisine. It’s an artful explosion of flavors, deeply personal storytelling through food, and a refreshingly informal approach to 3-star service. Best suited for adventurous diners seeking innovation, intensity, and a taste journey off the beaten path.
Jackie S — Google review
We LIKED it, but didn’t LOVE it. Sadly. They are a Michelin 3* (and they make sure you know it), but they just try too hard. They vomit artistic expression all over the table, and it was hard to tie everything together. Also, for English speakers, their English isn’t great (way better than our French!!) and they don’t give you a menu before, so you’re left guessing a bit. They do introduce plates, but it was hard to understand. Last, be careful of the pricing on the caviar and lobster upgrades. Both are REALLY expensive. Both being $120-130+ (each!!). The blue lobster was great, but I was surprised when the bill arrived. They didn’t give prices on the menu, which I found odd. This place has the artistic muscles to be great, but they try too hard. I’ll take Bocuse a hundred times over (by simple comparison)! For $700-1,000 person, it fell short.
Brant B — Google review
The best French restaurant from my standpoint. The chef mixes its African origins with the Southern France ingredients in a very unique way. The dishes are very original and tasty. The personnel is very nice and professional. The location is probably too small, but modern and smart.
Kirlo90 — Google review
Not a 3-Michelin Star experience… unfortunately my dinner at AM didn’t cater to my expectations, and when you are paying 600€+(pp) for a dinner you are entitled to have high expectations. -Food and flavors where unexciting -Service was rushed and had we felt no connections to any of the stories or the service team -Mistakes happen, but at this level they should happen less, and during our dinner we noticed plenty of mistakes -Prices are EXTREMELY high Overall this was a very disappointing experience, but more than anything I am disappointed with the Michelin Guide since if this is their new criteria of 3 Stars then there is a very clear unbalance and inconsistency with their criteria because I have been to plenty other restaurants with one or two stars that are way better than my dijner here. A pitty.
Fifistoteles 1 — Google review
We came here for a celebration and had reserved the chef's table where all the action of food preparation was unfolding before our eyes. What a spectacular dinner, our gustatory papillae where celebration a voyage of different tastes, departing from France to Africa to the far east and back! The servings were exquisite as the hand made dishware. So much attention to detail, the professional, extremely friendly staff guiding us through the voyage was a outstanding. Bravo for Alexandre and the entire team!

Restaurant
La Mercerie is a trendy neobistro and wine bar located in Marseille's Noailles neighborhood. The restaurant features a mix of distressed walls, industrial-style lighting, and designer chairs, creating an impossibly hip atmosphere. British chef Harry Cummins crafts subtle and imaginative dishes using local, seasonal ingredients that cater to vegetarians and those with food allergies. The restaurant offers a three-course lunch menu and a five-course dinner menu served indoors or on the outdoor terrace.
Wow. Such an amazing experience and definitely worth it. Their 5 course menu is perfected, delicious and doesn’t leave you uncomfortably full. The waitstaff were so knowledgeable and helpful, we had some lovely conversations especially during the wine paring for each course. There was a unique event where local winemakers were dining at the restaurant and we were able to see who made the wines we drank. One even came around pouring his wine and sharing stories with us all. Truly an amazing experience. We sat at a table but saw the chef engaging with people sat at the bar and telling stories of the food to them so I would recommend that for sure!
Zoe R — Google review
My favorite restaurant in Marseille. The service here is exceptionally kind, making everyone feel welcomed and appreciated. The food is served “omakase” style (at a very fair price), ensuring you’re getting their very best in terms of local ingredients and preparation that brings out those amazing Provençal flavors. Reserve ahead as it’s understandably popular!
Gary P — Google review
Could have been a great experience, what a pity! We were seated in the corner table close to the toilet. People kept on leaving the toilet door open and the smell was very distracting. I asked to be seated somewhere else but wasn‘t possible. Also didn‘t feel like I was taken seriously. To be honest, the table was a disgrace and people shouldn‘t be seated there in such a nice restaurant. Food was good. The pâtisserie chef was lovely and extemely kind. She made an effort to make her dishes vegan and explained it all to us. The dessert was the highlight for us.

yesterday we had dinner at La Mercerie to use the American Express dining credit abroad. at first staff told us it was “reservation only” but then they let us sit down as long as we agreed to a surprise five course menu. we ordered the house wine to go with it. both, the menu and the wine, were very delicious. the staff was very attentive and friendly. in total, we paid €165 (€65 per menu) for two people.

This place is absolutely amazing. Super cool and friendly staff, really top notch food and great wine list. No-choice 5 course menu. All up cost with aperitifs, bottle of wine, cheese and 2 glasses rouge was ~€200 which is very good value for quality of food. Highly recommended !!!! Also open Sunday which is quite rare.

This is a place that never misses the target. We have been going here for a few years now and the level always remains high. It is well worthy of its reputation and is now becoming a Marseille institution. The flavors, technique, composition and presentation are always on point. Definitely do the dinner wine half pairings. Each glass brought out will add depth and dimension to the plates. It feels a bit more natural to describe what happens here in terms of skilled songwriting or musicianship. There are some musicians out there that just cannot write a bad song. Each note they play fits. This is what is happening here.
LouHotch — Google review
The five course tasting dinner paired with wine was exceptional. The staff was terrific. Friendly and energetic. The patio area was a disappointment because of all the scooter and motorcycle traffic that was nonstop between 7 and 9. Then there were the smokers. A definite negative in my opinion. If you aren't a smoker, reserve an indoor table.

Haute French restaurant
SEPIA is a chic hilltop bistro in Marseille, France, offering elevated seasonal classics with harbor views. Located in the city's oldest public garden, this restaurant is helmed by Chef Paul Langlere, who trained under Alain Ducasse at Plaza Athenee in Paris. The menu features contemporary French and Mediterranean dishes like pigs foot, mousse au chocolat with fleur de sel, and homemade calamarata with citrus fruits and mint.
Beautiful restaurant hidden away in the park. Wonderful views over the city and a very funky bar next door (Julius) for pre or post dinner drinks. A little gem! The food was wonderful and the service impeccable. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place to watch the sunset, but the inside of the restaurant is too hot. Food was made with a lot of care, and all fresh and innovative. The front of the house is heavily understaffed. Trying to manage the outside terrace and inside of the restaurant can be a bit too much. Especially when waiting for food. Try to book in advance and outside sitting.
Andrej K — Google review
We booked sepia as we found a lot of positives reviews online and by looking at Google reviews we've seen there were plenty of meat or vegetarian options in the menu because I don't eat fish but my husband does and so I didn't want to deny him of an amazing fish experience which he did have at Sepia. However this time there was only one meat option in the menu, so not much choice for me and we've asked the waiter for vegetarian options but there was only one and he didn't even try to understand any of my needs which seemed a bit uncaring. Regardless the food was still good, but the service is very slow.

This is good food, not boring, and they are having fun. Perfect sunset. If you decide to walk, pay attention to elevation. This is a cool place.

Mixed opinions about this place because it has the potential to be great. The starters were honestly tasteless, really lacking in any flavour despite them being nicely presented. The mains were very good, both the tuna and monkfish were cooked perfectly and were quite filling. Dessert was also good but nothing over the top. Cocktails were very good. Overall, very very overpriced for what it is. Service started off great, the staff are very friendly but after our main course we were forgotten about for quite some time before trying hard to get a servers attention for the dessert menu, everything came with a delay from then onwards including the check, I guess because they were near closing time but for a total of 140 euros for the meal, not great.
Zain — Google review
This place was 100% awful. After being highly recommended, putting down a deposit for 11 people, having a conversation with the restaurant months in advance that individuals attending the dinner did not consume fish and being reassured that there would be plenty of options; we show up to no non-fish options. When we decided to have drinks there while figuring out where we could go the chef was a complete jerk and told us that it was a restaurant, not a bar and took our drinks away while telling us we had to leave. This was supposed to be my birthday dinner. I just want to say, thanks so much for ruining what should have been a special day. You run a poor operation. Do not recommend.
April V — Google review
Everyone eating here was American or English - for good reason as this is an overpriced tourist trap of a place. We had the fixed menu dinner. The food tastes like simple food that you could cook at home and the service was also very slow. No locals eat here for good reason. I had the crab starter but it didn’t taste of crab and just tasted of the curry sauce which was very overpowering. I had white fish for main which was fine but really nothing special. The chocolate tart dessert was the worst course- so liquidy- it was basically just melted chocolate poured into a chocolate casing with a horrible lemon sauce that did not go with the dish at all and tasted medicinal. Very disappointing and overpriced meal. Go somewhere more local and casual and you will get much better food and service in Marseilles!
Nicole P — Google review
Went with a tour group for a birthday celebration. Our guide called several times to make sure that we had non-fish options.3 out of 11 did not eat fish. She was told there be several options that were non-fish even a vegetarian option. Veal option cooked anchovy sauce. vegetarian option would be what was on the menu minus the fish. We still wanted to give them business since we made a reservation, but was told it was not a bar when we were not welcome to just have drinks. Our waitress was very kind and was trying to be accommodating, but the manager came out was very rude and told us to leave We then had to pay for the water and we’re told that we would get the $600 deposit back sometime. Don’t recommend if you don’t like fish!

La Pizza Major is a popular specialty in Marseille, introduced by Napolitans in 1900. It has quickly become a part of the city's culture and history. Visitors have praised the convivial atmosphere and fresh ingredients used in the pizzas. The staff is friendly and takes great care to explain the different pizza options available.
Superb piźza, as good as any I've eaten anywhere, and better than most including any I've eaten in New York, and very friendly owner. The setting of the food hall is lively, welcoming and vibrant, with 10 different establishments surrounding a bar (inc. Sushi, Lebanese, Algerian, Indian, burgers, patisserie). Ideal if you can't agree what you want. I loved this place.

Incredible nice restaurant just a little bit outside the bustling city center. We opted for a 9 course menu and enjoyed every single course. The service was very attentive and the sommerlier did an amazing job suggesting pairing wines. I will definitely come back
Chris L — Google review
Highly recommended to have your lunch here. L’Epuisette is a restaurant right next to Mediterranean Sea. You can see Château d'If by the window seats. The service was nice. We are from Taiwan and waitress said “你好” to us with smile. And the most remarkable was their Aspic of Bouillabaisse which was a aspic reach of the flavor of Bouillabaisse. The second remarkable was “Red mullet, cooked and raw Tomato water and Kimchi butter.” We are from Asia and familiar with Kimchi. I must say this was the best Kimchi dish. The flavor was balanced and really tasty. It was out of the way how Asian use Kimchi in dishes. Really surprised. And the red mullet was cooked perfectly. Finally, the petit four cart was cute. You can choose anything you wanted. Reasonable price, high quality cooking, beautiful sea view.
Chang A — Google review
On a summer sunny day, L’Epuisette was the ideal venue for a lunch by the seaside. Came for the views of the seawater pool through the floor to ceiling windows, left in love for the bouillabaisse menu. Served in 3 difference dish, as a mousse, a soup with croutons and as 5-fish filets in sauce, this iconic and flavorful seafood dish is a must for everyone visiting Marseille. I found myself thinking how this restaurant or then-kiosk by the sea would have been decades and decades ago… times go by, cuisine evolve, only the sea remains the same.
Samuele S — Google review
The ambiance here is amazing. A beautiful view of the ocean and little islands. The service was 10/10 and the presentation of the food 10/10. The drink selection 10/10. However, compared to other seafood Michelin star restaurants I’ve been to I’d give the seafood 8.5/10. I thought the restaurant could have had a better fish selection, sauces, and taste. However, the desserts and cheese were 9.5/10 and had a great selection. But I’m no chef. Overall when you consider the amazing ambiance and service. It is well worth coming here for a visit. I really enjoyed my time here, service, and the food.
Chris R — Google review
Five stars on the services top notch service for everything. The view is perfect and the atmosphere is top. The food is good, but for the price we paid and to be a Michelin star restaurant, I think it could be better. We ate a 7 course meal. We ordered the Bouillabaisse (local dish). I don't mind small portion, which is expected in this kind of place, but the flavours could have been better. Three of our seven meals course tasted like the fish supplement I feed my turtle with. I understand the original bouillabaisse is a fish based soup, but they shouldn't repeat the after taste of their meal with that canned fish flavor. The fish by itself was delicious, but some of the ingredients had a fish based condiment my palate didn't appreciate much The View: 5/5 The Service: 5/5 The Food: 3/5
Olivier L — Google review
The restaurant has an interesting location almost in the water. It really is a seafood restaurant - the Michelin Guide marked it as offering vegetarian options but this cannot be recommended, they simply leave out the fish, often without adjusting the quantity of the rest. I had a regular tasting menu with fish and enjoyed a few clever surprises such as the cocoa seafood foam and the shrimp with its exquisite texture but I cannot say that overall I was wowed - this week I've eaten at several restaurants "only" featuring a Big Gourmand in the Michelin guide that honestly seemed worthier of a star. If you come here during the dark season, lunch probably is best as you then can enjoy what must be a spectacular view of the sea.
Tobias — Google review
We decided to book a table for our 5th anniversary and we were not disappointed. The setting is mind blowing. If you’re going to book a table make sure to check what time is sunset and try to get one by the window. Service was excellent. We chose the 7 course menu, it was a delight, especially the octopus one. Dishes are not extremely surprising but each element of the dish is sophisticated at its maximum and it can be enjoyed individually. The wine menu is extensive. We chose a local 100 eur wine and it was great. Fruity and very pleasant. Prices are very reasonable, around 200 per person.
Jeremias P — Google review
DON'T COME HERE IF YOU'RE ALONE! For some reason they don't see you as a valued customer if you're just one?!? I selected the Cesar which was the top menu ($$$$). I requested advice from the sommelier and had a great recommendation for a glass. I guess buying a glass in this restaurant is not acceptable. I continued to beg for wine, finally gave up. If you want wine service, buy a bottle, maybe he'll pay attention to you 🙄. I was by myself so a bottle is not an option when you want to try a variety of things. They do a HORRIBLE job of telling you where you are in the menu you selected. I heard others asking "how many dishes left?" and "are we done?" You feel a bit lost when you don't understand where you are in your meal. Should I be drinking white or red, etc. The food was good but not amazing and given I was the ignored guest of the night I would not recommend going here as it's very pricey to beg for wine and spend three (3) hours for one person talking to yourself... When I went to leave, even though I asked, it took forever to get the check. Then the Manager argued with me about my experience. He compared me to people arrond me that had a companion sitting with them, talking to eachother. FYI: my experience is just that, my experience. I don't want to stand in the door arguing with you about what you think my experience should have been after spending €220.00. I came alone because my husband doesn't like seafood and I wanted a nice dinner with nice wine. I ended up with a long, lonely experience, with good food, limited wine, being confronted and told I should have enjoyed my loneliness longer. Not a way to end the night... I was completely deflated and just wanted to leave.

La Boîte à Sardine is a vibrant and cozy restaurant with a quirky maritime theme, offering inventive preparations of fresh local seafood. Owner Fabien Rugi's passion for serving the freshest Mediterranean-inspired seafood is evident as patrons can personally select their fish from the daily catch on ice. The menu features delectable dishes such as grilled shrimp, grilled baby squid, and a unique take on fish-and-chips. The reasonably priced wine selection complements the dining experience perfectly.
Having read previous reviews of this restaurant, I was expecting great food and, maybe, a ”grumpy” proprietor. Well, I definitely got the former but thankfully not the latter. As a lone diner, I was treated warmly, kindly and with great humour. No hint of grumpiness! Lunch here was a memorable experience thanks to the aforementioned proprietor, the quirky space and the authentic, imaginative menu. I cannot wait to return to Marseilles so I can eat in this wonderful place again.

Had an amusing and tasty lunch at this very original seafood restaurant. The decor is definitely off beat as is the service. But it is full of charm and humour. More pertinently the oysters were pure ocean deliciousness and the langoustine ravioli outstanding. The wine by the glass is correct. So is the price. Worth a visit but come with a tolerant attitude.

The best parts of the meal were the oysters and fresh anchovies. While the rest of the menu was only so-so, the simple vibe and decor were fantastic. The place truly delivers on a great experience.

Very busy buzzy, all fresh seafood, seasonal, picked by the owner that morning. We had clams,, the best new season calamari and the star of the show, sardines stuffed with ricotta. We also had ravioli stuffed with hake, delicate lemony flavours. I'll be back whenever I can..

La Boîte à Sardine — a place that will change everything you thought you knew about seafood! Super-fresh fish straight from local fishermen, a quirky “marine” interior you’ll want to photograph, and a team that’s genuinely happy to see you. Be sure to book in advance (lunch is served in two sittings), arrive early — and your oysters will be unforgettable.

good small restaurant with a particularly beautiful decoration with a Mediterranean and sardines theme. As for the food, it was very tasty with fresh ingredients as we also ate raw shellfish without getting sick. The owner was hospitable and smiling, willing to explain the menu to us! The only negative is in the dessert as there was almost no variety. Someone should try these flavors on their visit to Marseille, although of course they are not anything special. I highly recommend it.!

This restaurant is not just for food but for an experience. The owner is very helpful and walks you through everything on the menu depending on the freshly caught fish. The atmosphere is immaculate and everything is done in this fisherman, sea style. I really enjoyed the design. The food was fresh and really tasty. Everything was fresh. The only issues was one meal with small seashells, it was very tasty but after eating it, you would have like a sand stuck in your teeth which wasn’t very pleasant. Other than that, a great restaurant experience, tasty food and pleasant prices.

Halal restaurant
Chez Yassine is a bustling and unassuming eatery located in the vibrant Noailles neighborhood of Marseille. This casual stop is known for serving authentic Tunisian cuisine, attracting a constant stream of locals and visitors alike. The restaurant offers a variety of traditional dishes such as ojja stew, leblebi chickpea soup, keftiji vegetable dish, and spicy grilled merguez sausages.
If you’re after tasty food, you’re in the right place. I especially recommend trying their beef sausages — really flavorful! One small note though: if you’re not good with spicy food, make sure to let them know in advance, or be cautious. If you spot a little red ball of something on top of your dish or salad… don’t just mix it in without thinking 😄 It might be way too spicy for you! Also, their homemade lemonade isn’t your typical sweet-and-tangy kind — it has a slight bitterness, almost like lemon peel. So if I were you, I’d try a small size first to see if it matches your taste. It might not be for everyone.

Nestled in one of the strees of Marseille, this place offers amazing Tunisian food. I ordered the Lablabi with egg and Tunisian tuna and the homemade lemonade. The food was amazing and filling. The lemonade was good but I think the seeds got mixed in as well since it was a bit bitter. Other wise good food and food service.

Just wow. This place is a must for all foodies in Marseille. The staff were so attentive and got our somewhat complex order bang on. 0 mistakes. Not even a missing sausage. Beautiful experience at Carlotta With. The service was excellent. Our server, André, was so lovely and helped us order delicious meals since we hardly know much French. We had the Cinnamon roll which was so fluffy and the perfect level of sweetness. The chichis are described as the best in the world, with long queues at the point of sale serving as a testament to their quality. Customers praise the generous portions and recommend trying them with sugar.
Love their Chichi´s! Always freshly fried with a crunchy crust and soft inside that has a slightly citric flavor. I like them most plain with sugar. Pizza Capri Marseille is a popular spot in the city, where locals and visitors alike can enjoy delicious pizza. The dish has become a specialty in Marseille, with its roots tracing back to Italian immigrants who brought it to the area. Some even claim that the wood-fired pizza oven used for cooking was originally created in Marseille. The pizzeria offers quick service and affordable prices, making it a convenient option for those looking for a tasty bite on the go.
We were in hurry for a quick snack and stopped here. The first impression of the shop was not good but the taste was so good that we had the lunch from here three days in a row. With just sixteen sea-facing rooms and a lagoon-colored pool, this intimate Relais & Chateaux property provides a tranquil setting for guests to savor gourmet dishes featuring fresh seafood and other delectable ingredients.
Very friendly and smiling staff. We had beer and Muscat wine which was great. Amazing location for drinks at a very local place in Marseilles, where the locals hang out. The park next to it had a market which was a bonus to walk around after few drinks.

Decent bar in the busy Place Jean Jaurs not too far from Cours Julien. Definitely the cheapest bar we came across in our two days in the city - previously found 500ml beer at €6 - €7 but it was €4 in this place. Most seating is outdoor.

Nice spot to stop for a drink. Located on a terrace in a cute square. Good atmosphere in the evening. Waiters were attentive and prompt. Drinks were good and cheap(€6 for an aperol). Would recommend to anyone looking for a spot to stop with friends for a drink.

Great spot - excellent atmosphere, unbeatable prices, speedy service. The place was so busy on a Friday night and still somehow we got served faster than anywhere in Marseille. They take your order in just the first few minutes and bring you your drinks in the next 5! Incredible.

The restaurant offers a casual and artful space where diners can enjoy seasonal, contemporary dishes and a selection of wines. Chef Damien Delgado and his partner Fanny Sauvage present professionally crafted, locally sourced recipes with an emphasis on fresh ingredients. The bistro also boasts an intimate interior terrace for warm days.
An amazing experience! We ordered a wine pairing menu. The food is delicious and the wines even more so! We visited on our last night in Marseille and I am so glad we left the best for last! Excellent service and authentic tastes, such a cozy atmosphere in the restaurant and great music that matches perfectly. This one must be the best place to eat when in Marseille, especially for couples. Thank you for a beautiful dinner!

A small restaurant on a quiet street. I have ordered a set menu, food was well presented. Very happy with the starter and the dessert, they were delicious. The main, beef brisket, was not tender enough unfortunately, it was a little disappointing. It was overall a lovely meal.
Willia P — Google review
The presentation is very nice and the service is super good. However I still hope the food can be better. The shrimp we ordered was not that fresh and octopus was too hard.
Yijun Y — Google review
A true masterpiece! Each serving was a different experience on its own! Flavours are extremely well balanced and designed to amaze your senses! Prices are great for a restaurant in such a category. Waiters are well informed even about minimal details (e.g. the country of origin of vanilla). We even enjoyed a very nice conversation with the lead chef. We went during a heat wave and unfortunately the restaurant was extremely hot
Farid S — Google review
If you find this review to be helpful, please leave a Like. Thanks ... The exterior of the restaurant is pretty nondescript & it's located in a somewhat residential area. But don't let that fool you and be sure to seek it out. You won't be disappointed. Out of the three dinners we experienced in Marseille, this was by far the best in terms of the tastiness of the food, the quality of the food & the value for money. There were two levels for dining indoors - the tables/chairs were small & intimate. We had to climb narrow stairs to get to the second level, which was where we were seated, with somewhat low ceilings. It was a bit hot on this level. Weather permitting, I would recommend booking a table on the outside terrace off the second level. It was very charming & air circulation seemed better - just watch out for mosquitoes. Now to the food. Somewhat surprising, the place didn't serve any chicken :-) Apparently, they had pivoted from chicken to concentrate on seafood centric dishes. There were four of us in the party & we decided to order a variety of dishes to share. All the creations were delicious. Some of the outstanding dishes were the prawns, fish & the "fried egg" ... the only semi-miss for us was the "dessert egg" which didn't come together as we expected. We rounded off everything with delicious cocktails & espresso. I'd definitely come back to see what new dishes they have to offer. Highly recommended.
HoSeah T — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal! We highly recommend tartare (we shared it as an additional main for the two of us, does require a large appetite! The steak and lamb was really nice. Particularly enjoyed the desserts! The special ‘egg’ is a great surprise. We had a pleasant chat with the owner lady as well as our server. Super friendly, makes the whole experience great.

A place that will exceed your expectations. This is the reason we would come back to Marseille. Had a fantastic dinner and wine paring. The service was top notch. The food here was better than the three star Michelin restaurant the previous night.

Restaurant l'Inattendu is a cozy dining spot with a charming patio, known for its seasonal main dishes, small plates, and delectable desserts. The restaurant's simple yet inviting design takes a backseat to the star of the show – the food. One standout dish is the 5-hour pre-cooked meat served with veggies and smashed potatoes, offering a delightful and satisfying flavor. Guests praise the exceptional service provided by the friendly staff, making for an enjoyable dining experience.
A very enjoyable dining experience in Marseille! Staff were very friendly and welcoming - keen to help and attend to serve. Food was nicely presented and deliciously prepared. The Bouillabaisse was excellent. The soup was rich in seafood and with a hint of spiciness. The penne was quite cheesy - nice! We were lucky that we had a table even though we didn't book. This was very packed at the time we went there.

We had a lovely dining experience at this charming restaurant in the heart of Marseille. The location is perfect—right in the center, with a welcoming atmosphere that captures the spirit of the city. The food was tasty and well-prepared, offering a great mix of local flavors and fresh ingredients. Service was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall enjoyment of our meal. The only downside was the bathroom, which could use a bit more attention in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. However, this was a minor issue in what was otherwise a very pleasant visit. We’d happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal in central Marseille.
Kass H — Google review
Authentic Flavors in the Heart of Marseille This small, centrally located French restaurant offers a concise but carefully curated menu, featuring fresh seafood and quality meat dishes. The tuna starter was a standout – perfectly seasoned and a great way to start the meal. The main courses, though not overly generous in portion size, were beautifully balanced and packed with flavor, paired nicely with local wines. The service was attentive, though not particularly remarkable, and the atmosphere felt a bit cold, with only a few other guests during our visit, giving it a slightly touristy vibe. One thing to keep in mind – the Bouillabaisse is priced at 41 euros, which might feel a bit steep, especially given the many other excellent, more reasonably priced dishes on the menu. Overall, a solid choice if you’re looking for well-prepared, authentic flavors in the heart of Marseille.
Mia L — Google review
One of the BEST meals we have had in all of France! The chef graciously made the Tataki de Thon without fish for me which created a delicious vegetarian option. Every bite was a delight! My husband had the pasta with prawns which was also amazing. The service was the best and our waiter was friendly and accommodating. We also liked that the location was very close to the restaurant center, but not where the smell of methane overpowers the area. We never smelled methane here even though we sat outdoors. Overall, we loved the food, service, and location. Don’t miss this slightly hidden gem!
Palma L — Google review
cute place, slightly off the main touristy routes! super friendly service and also seriously quick too! had the octopus salad for starter which was delicious, and then the ricotta tortellini which was very tasty. Alas too full to try dessert.
Kevin P — Google review
We came here for the bouillabaisse and at €41 per person, I felt this was a good deal for a traditionally presented dish that included four types of fish, some king prawns and mussels. It doesn't look like the quality you might get by paying €80+ for this type of dish, but also as essentially it being a fish soup, I don't think there is the justification of spending so much either - unless you must have the experience. I suspect this restaurant does make their own bouillabaisse in batches and that this is kept ready for customers as needed, this is a usual practice for a restaurant that serves several other dishes and it's not a criticism. The soup was as expected with some depth and the poached fish (John Dory, Monkfish, etc) was not overcook but firm. If you want to try this dish, but don't want to pay over €80 per person, then this is an acceptable solution. The waitress was excellent; friendly with just the right amount of attentiveness. As with all other photos I've seen of this soup, they never do the taste justice!
Martin ( — Google review
We chose this restaurant to try bouillabaisse. Well, it was probably decent, but I have nothing to compare it to since it was my first time having bouillabaisse. However, their tartare was absolutely terrible! It was made from some sour minced meat with an unpleasant smell—disgusting. I eat tartare quite often, so I know exactly how it should taste, even considering that every chef might add their own spices. Their tartare was made from stale meat. But that’s not all. We made a reservation through The Fork app, and a 20% discount was applied during the booking. When paying the bill, I was told that the discount didn’t apply to wine and dessert. The wine exclusion was understandable—it was mentioned in the booking terms that drinks are not discounted. But dessert? Why is it not included in the discount? That was unclear. I do not recommend this restaurant.

We regretfully saw the reviews on Google and believed it would be worthy of the reviews. No sequel! There is no reason for them to have such high prices. !!!!!!!!Food average, service good, polite staff, the location of the restaurant is bad overall, view and very small space inside and outside. We paid 190 euros for spaghetti 25 and 28 euros per dish!!!! not even in a good restaurant in Italy with fresh pasta .!!!The traditional fish soup without any special taste and 41 euros!!! Do not recommend for any reason! neither for flavors nor for location. Only polite staff willing to serve you.!!

Chez Paul is a laid-back seafood restaurant located in the picturesque fishing village of Les Goudes, offering stunning water views. This classic seaside fish restaurant has been an institution for over 70 years, serving up fresh and delicious dishes with a southern flair. The menu features a variety of seafood options such as bouillabaisse, grilled octopus, mussels gratin, and linguine with clams.
I celebrated my birthday there after our hike, and this place was incredible. Food was absolute perfection, wine was great and the view was beautiful. The service is friendly (and funny!), you can tell they’re truly passionate about their fish. They don’t lie when they say portions are massive: come hungry or try sharing the appetizers (and desserts!).

I had roasted octopus with lamb sauce. One of the best single-plate meals I’ve ever had in France!
Ron W — Google review
Been there after phone reservation. Asked for a outside table, but been told there was only a table inside. We accepted. Once there, they gave us a table outside and when I told the owner that we were told about a table inside just 15 minutes before at the phone, he replied that inside was not good for him anymore. Ok, but not a great start. On the other side, Staff was kind and professional. Unfortunately, food was not good (at least not at the level of our expectations - messy food presentation, mixed tastes, extravagant recipes, overpriced - 107 euros for a shared starter, two main dishes and a bottle of wine, dining close to boats engines it’s quite expensive to me). We had the feeling it is a very common and touristic place , fully filled with people everywhere. Probably the right place to have just a great grilled or oven cooked fish but unfortunately that was not our choice

We are so blessed to have a local friend taking us to this lovely restaurant by a small marina in Marseille, away from the touristy spot. The fish soup was definitely a star and all the starters were amazing. The dessert size was an eye opener, I would say it’s definitely an American size portion but the taste is so good that you will hate yourself for not being able to finish it. Love the citron tart! 😍 The restaurant is very crowded so I believe reservation is definitely required.
Joanna L — Google review
The restaurant was a suggestion and I believe a good one. The fish is fresh, portions are good (my starter looked like a main) and prices are in line with what is expected when getting fresh fish. We took a starter, a main of the day and a ice-tea spending €47 and sharing between two people, more than enough to keep us going for a while. The staff is polite, approachable and efficient at least this was my experience at lunch time. The venue is simple and overlooking the port. If you stop by you won’t be disappointed.

Brasserie Les Fenêtres is an elegant restaurant located in the InterContinental Marseille Hotel Dieu, just a short stroll from the Old Port. The adjoining restaurant offers a lavish setting for breakfast, with a charming terrace surrounded by beautiful gardens and a stylish indoor dining room featuring an extensive breakfast buffet. Chef Lionel Levy presents chic Provencal cuisine that combines modernity and tradition, showcasing the art of living local through seasonal menus.
For those traveling to the South of France, specifically to Marseille during the summer when the weather is quite similar to Thailand's, I highly recommend this restaurant located within the InterContinental Hotel for dinner. It's advisable to make a reservation in advance, especially if you wish to secure a table with a stunning view to enjoy the sunset. Around 8 PM is the perfect time to dine and take in the ambiance. For appetizers, I highly recommend the Pork Ravioli – it's absolutely delicious. As for the main course, the beef steak is a fantastic choice; it's flavorful and satisfying without being too heavy. Overall, it's a wonderful dining experience, especially for a warm summer evening in Marseille.

The service and the atmosphere was really good, and with beautiful views of Marseille while dining it then it’s worth eating at the restaurant just to enjoy the scenery. We had the Grilled Cockerel, Roasted Sweetbread, and the traditional soup au Pistou so it’s a mix of local dishes from Marseille. I enjoyed the ambiance alongside the food we had. We did order a lot but we were starving when we arrived from the airport.

What a view!!! On the first floor of the Intercontinental Marseille. If walking up to the hotel from the port, there are alot of stairs. Mobility issues would be better off getting a car. Gorgeous outdoor seating with umbrellas for shade. Wine, beer and cocktail list. We had the lamb and chicken dishes. Both were delicious and fresh with well seasoned veggies. Dessert shined with profiteroles and caramel vanilla ice cream. A laid back ambiance, so don't expect a quick turnaround.

A restaurant worth visiting while in Marseille. Incredible view on the terrace. Excellent food and service. Great wine selection as well.
A.J. — Google review
What a disappointment. Asked in advance if the booking was for anything special I said on the reservation request that it was for our wedding anniversary. This was acknowledged on arrival and we were then placed at a table behind the service station with no view despite us being one of the first set of diners to arrive with ample alternative tables. The service was comical with an equippe that had a group conversation every time a dish came out of the kithcen deciding which table had placed the order. We were asked for our desert choices, whch we gave. Only to be aske by another member of staff if we had made our choices and to repeat them. Considering the marketing of the establishment and prices the service was really poor. Venue not recommended.

Title: A Blend of Flavors and Service at LES FENÊTRES LES FENÊTRES offers a welcoming ambiance and commendable service, creating a positive dining atmosphere. The Gnocchi stood out as a flavorful highlight, showcasing the kitchen's expertise in crafting delicious dishes. However, the limited variety in the menu was a noticeable drawback, leaving room for improvement to cater to diverse tastes and preferences. While the Gnocchi impressed, expanding the menu could enhance the overall appeal of the restaurant. One notable area that could use refinement is the timing between courses. The extended wait between starters and the main course tested patience, detracting from an otherwise enjoyable experience. Streamlining this aspect would contribute to a more seamless and satisfying dining experience for patrons. Despite these considerations, LES FENÊTRES remains a promising dining establishment with friendly staff and culinary highlights. With attention to menu diversity and pacing, the restaurant has the potential to elevate its overall offering and become a standout destination for a memorable dining experience. Specially because they're engraved inside a 5 star 🌟 hotel 🏨.

We had an absolutely great experience dining here. This is not the main restaurant of the hotel, but the brasserie, but the quality of both the food and the service is exemplary. The menu has some very creative dishes, including novel twists on French classics. Everything we tried was delicious. Service was super friendly, and except for trying to get and then pay the check, very efficient and timely, too. The hostess deserves special mention for being extremely friendly, helpful and courteous. The location and its view are what makes the while experience extra memorable, with a gorgeous view on the Notre Dame de la Garde.

The place was large and well lit, the view was nice but it was night time and it might be better during the day where you can have a better view of the harbour. I came with my dog and they were super friendly with her and even gave her a bowl of wate just for her. The food was good and visually pleasing with a couple of amuse bouche before the meal was served. But as good as the presentation was, it wasn't something outstanding that hasn't been seen before and lacked a little bit of refinement for the price. The staff however were great and very attentive to my every need.

One of the best in marseille. Walking around the old town and around 11:15 asked to make a reservation for the same day lunch. They said sure. One of the best pizza I’ve ever ate in my life. It was a little difficult to get a table, but well worth it. We had read that there are no reservations and you should show up early. We were there right when they opened for dinner, but I suppose something changed recently because all the tables were reserved. We were told we could come back at 9 and try then. Around 9, a line formed outside and they would bring people in without reservations as they got tables. They only have 2 pizza flavors but both were outstanding. Then we got the fried squid that comes with salad and bread. That was the best squid I’ve had in my life. Cash only. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Marseille.

A historic landmark of a restaurant nestled into the welcoming trees of the Calanques park entrance = Super authentic dreamy atmosphere ... A postcard patio. Oh, and the food, drink, and even the service was excellent. The kind staff work hard and as a team. Bravo, nous reviendrons c'est sûr !

Host welcomed us by saying we would get a table in 5 minutes, but we ended up waiting more than an hour before getting a table. No apologies were made and we were served the most horrible tasting wine and questionable tasting food. Would absolutely never recommend going here.

Excellent food and atmosphere, everyone was super friendly and the service is excellent even when the restaurant is packed. The Squid ink pasta, Pizza, mozzarella , was all delicious and the tiramisu rounds off the dinner nicely! Hope to come back again !

I got food poison after eating the seafood spagettis here on Sunday evening. The server advertised it as Linguini seafood but it was spaghettis. We had 2 starters and 3 main courses + 4 glasses of wine (2 adults + 1 kid), the bill was 125 €. It was quite expensive for what we got. (Mainly pasta). I would not recommend this place even if the terrace is nice.... maybe just for a drink.

Cash only! Ambience and service - 5 stars Went for a late Sunday lunch and it was bustling with families. Beautiful outdoor seating area. Really friendly server at the counter and friendly servers even though they were really crowded. Mussels gratin - 3.5 stars Mussels were flavourful but on the small side. Decent. Alsatian pizza - 4 stars I'm not a meat person but enjoyed the pizza. Tasty, chunky pork for the bacon. Creme fraiche was good. It was flavourful and slightly salty. Good bready crust. Coffee sundae - 4 stars Could've used more coffee in it. Good flavours. Fun place for brunch, and a great meal after a hike in Calanques. I'd go back to try other pizzas and pastas!

Au Falafel is a popular spot in Marseille, especially during the summer when its terrace is bustling. The menu offers a variety of Middle Eastern dishes such as shawarma, keftas, grilled merguez sausages, homemade hummus, and pitas stuffed with falafel. The restaurant also serves honey-soaked harissa cake topped with roasted almonds for dessert. It's recommended to book in advance due to its limited opening hours.
It is amazing you get your meals in a minute after you order. Very delicious.

Decent falafel with good salads. Kofta is not as good.

Really tasty and “juicy” falafels, but the entrées plates were too basic and small for the prices they had (15€ in total for small plate of hummus and tiny falafels). The vibe in the restaurant was poor, with no music and low service-level. Wouldn’t go back.

La Caravelle is a classic bistro located in Marseille, offering stunning views of the Old Port. Situated on the second floor of Hotel Bellevue, this 1920s restaurant-bar provides a romantic setting to enjoy the picturesque Vieux Port from its balcony. With retro nautical decor and live jazz concerts, it exudes vintage charm and offers an intimate terrace for admiring sunset skies behind Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde.
Ate there twice, and perfect for the occasion each time. Tapas after a long trip from Paris. The second after a long day a few days later. I am almost afraid to recommend this, because it’s such a jewel and I don’t want to spoil it. Mostly locals hanging out, all of the most pleasant disposition and human authenticity. This place is hidden away on the second floor of a hotel. Being less visible weeds out the riff-raff? Views are great. Drinks are honest. Cheeses, meats, and bread are of very high quality and served perfect portion sizes for us: high quality over volume. All in a very relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere with unpretentious but genuinely friendly and lovely people: both staff and customers. We really liked this place! Spent $60 USD for 2 people with food and a quality drink each. Note: Someone commented they were rude to foreigners. That was not my experience at all (and we are from the US with all ‘that’ going on!). EVERYONE, start to end, was lovely and generous. Tip: slow down, be nice, be cool, and you will fit right in.

Lovely spot on the main harbour. Not the cheapest based on location- Campari or Aperol spritz was €12. To sit on the balcony you need to be ordering food - we shared two starters between us to avail of the view.

Since we were in Marseilles, I wanted to visit Chez Sandríne. But, that apparently won't open for a couple hundred years. So, we came here. During a horrible heat wave, this location was much cooler than any of the street side restaurants. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the service was terrific.

J'adore !!!! This restaurant was recommended to us by the reception at the hotel in Aix en Provence. We drove to Marseille arrived at the restaurant without reservation just past noon. They very kindly found is a small table. The service was prompt and attentive. We had an Aïoli steam fish and vegetables with their famous home made Aïoli which was light and fluffy not too strong in garlic. I found it perfect for my taste. We ordered stuffed grilled vegetables cooked in tomato sauce which was delicious. The tiramisu was divine with the creme fleurette on the side. Wine was good. The view from the restaurant was beautiful. Strategically located with the quay just across the restaurant. Highly recommended. Rsvp needed

Let's begin with few nagative things. It's bit congested bar and restaurant, and still in that tiny area they organize live music plus dance floor. There is 3 € entrance fees which is extreme. Its only one common toilet for man and woman. Good side is that they have good panoramic view. Great variety of hard sport. Glass of vine is quite expensive.

It's considered the ultimate destination for dessert lovers, offering an array of delectable treats such as cheesecakes, fruit tarts, and chocolate creations that can be enjoyed on-site or taken to go.
This was my favorite Patisserie in Marseilles. We went back a second time as it was really good. The pastries are delicately prepared and not only look appealing but are super yummy. And as good European bakeries are they are not too sweet. The cafe's go along well with the pastry and bakery items. Nice cute atmosphere to sit down. We really love this place!

The cakes were tasty, the macarons nothing special and very, very expensive. There was a linguistic and cultural clash with the staff when we tried to communicate.

Been here everyday, tried different croissants in the area and found this to be the best. Always got their salads and sandwiches as well, and it was always delicious. Probably going again tomorrow.

The pain au chocolat and croissant are tasty, but a bit too buttery for my liking and definitely on the expensive side. The ice creams and pastries are good, but the prices feel exaggerated compared to the quality. Overall, good flavors, but not great value for money.

Delicious pastries in Mariselle area! The other options looked okay in the area. Highly recommend a pastry lover to come here for their sweet tooth! We will be back this afternoon to pick up more for tomorrow, since they are closed on Sunday's. We came back in the afternoon and had the chocolate financier! We came back before closing to get the pistachio financier! We just ate the éclair! I love this guy's version of desserts and pastries. We leave Mariselle tomorrow (Sunday), so today was the last day we could enjoy all his goods. In retrospect, we should have checked out the chocolates too since we were a huge fan of the baked goods!

Founded by pastry chef Delphine Godard, the shop offers homemade treats including toppings and whipped cream. The menu features a mix of classic flavors like roasted pistachio and Madagascan vanilla as well as innovative combinations such as lemon with mint and coriander, fresh ginger, and pineapple with basil.
The best gelato in Marseille. Miel à fleur d’oranger is a must try! Tiramisu and yogurt are pretty good too!
G T — Google review
L’Éléphant Rose is a nice spot to grab some ice cream, though it’s a bit on the pricey side. I ordered two scoops for 6 euros, but the portions were thankfully generous. I tried the orange blossom and pistachio flavors—while the orange blossom was good, the pistachio didn’t quite meet my expectations. It was tasty, but not one of the best I’ve had in Marseille. If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s worth a visit for the experience. I suggest trying more flavors, especially the fruit ones, to see if they stand out more. For now, there are other ice cream spots in different areas of the city that I prefer. The service was good, and the place itself is charming. I really liked the wall decorations outside. However, the tables we sat at were sticky and could have used a good cleaning. We were seated outside.

The chef has created an experience that we’ll remember forever. If you’re on the fence about visiting, just do it, you will not regret it. The chef personally explained how the tuna + poached egg was intended to be eaten, including details about how he designed the bowl with a small spout so you can feel the cold, homey ceramic on your lips. The meal was timed so that the sunset was occurring over the water as we ate… truly remarkable. These are just two examples of how every detail was considered. The food was sublime and the staff was very generous with our complete lack of mastery of the French language.

Truly excellent restaurant. The food is exceptional, mixing Japanese traditions and techniques with Provence ingredients. I do not understand the reviews that complain about portion size. We came here to get bubble tea and the mango green tea was the worst bubble tea I've ever had. My partner's passion fruit green tea was a lot better. The service is good because the guy speaks multiple languages and translated for us. But the flavour of the mango tea was gross. Do not get it in green tea format. Maybe the juice is a better option. Even from the colour you can tell mango bubble tea is not supposed to look like that.

Extremely disappointed by the bubble tea. First, they were out of tapioca boba. What boba tea place doesn’t have boba! Next, they were out of Matcha tea! Then, the “Nature” milk tea tasted more like coconut water. We ended up throwing away the two “boba” teas we’d gotten because they were disgusting

While it's a small establishment near the Vieux-Port, patrons can choose to dine in or grab their food to go. The menu features aioli sandwiches and other regional specialties available for takeout.
The sandwich aioli was superb. It did not have too much filling but the garlic sauce was really, really good! The filling featured fish of the day and some vegetables (carrot, potato, leek). The staff was very welcoming. Unfortunately they don’t serve bouillabaisse soup every day - it seems they serve it on biweekly basis or something like that and they didn’t have it when we came.

Pretty solid sandwich shop. We got the aioli sandwich, the beef daube, provencal salad, and garlic bread. Sandwich tasted very fresh. The beef daube was pretty good but it came in pre-made in a bowl that they just heated up. Would've been nice if it was served fresh but it was a huge portion. Christelle Y — Google review
I tried the lobster roll here, which came with panisse, and honestly, it didn’t live up to the price tag of 19.90€. The portion was on the smaller side, but that wasn’t my main concern. The bigger issue was the taste, the roll was disappointingly average and rather bland. Since lobster has a naturally subtle flavor, it really needs the right seasoning or a sauce to bring it to life. Unfortunately, the seasoning here fell flat, Instead of the rich, seasoned lobster taste I expected, it felt more like eating something bland with the texture of crab, not at all what a lobster roll should be. On the positive side, the panisse was excellent. Overall, though, I wasn’t satisfied with the flavor of the lobster roll.

I think it’s one of the most interesting place in the city. It’s the most ancient bakery with a true history of their products - navettes. Indeed it’s not cheap but the quality, taste and ambiance are well worth to try it out. I do recommend you to taste it and read about this place in advance.
Kirill M — Google review
It’s an acquired taste - lots of unfair subjective reviews which I think do not do justice to the long history of navettes. The polite staff gave me a small piece to try before I buy, I am not a fan of it but I still bought a pack of six for €6 because I think they will go better with coffee or tea. Everyone has the option to try and not buy, so there is no need to give negative reviews if you do not like the taste.

Marseille's pride!! Unique and original taste... Great with coffee or tea. We bought a lot to bring back home for friends. Everytime we come to Marseille we always buy here. This local bread shop is one of the best... selling delicious navettes. Price is reasonable. Excellent customer service. Highly recommended!!

We visited this bakery, open since 1781, and really loved the atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We bought the traditional Marseille cookies for ourselves and as gifts for family and friends. Definitely recommend!

1781... the year of the foundation of the legendary bakery - confectionery, delicious bread and cookies with a unique taste... you have to visit and taste their specialties.

The finest place in whole of Marseille to buy the traditional navettes biscuits. It's been here since over a century and the quality has never faded. The staff is friendly and the decorations antique, well in the theme. Highly recommended.

Very cute bakery right outside the Abby St. Victor. The lady helping was super nice! We bought six navettes and they were much better than I expected - I thought they were plain bread sticks, instead they had great flavor. A very nice surprise!

A traditional historic bakery. We tried some cookies and navettes. I’m sure they’re very tasty for those who like them, but as a tourist, I didn’t really enjoy them — they felt too dry for me.

Deep Coffee Roasters, which opened in April 2018 near the Vieux-Port, is not just a regular coffee shop. It's also a roastery where Tony, one of the owners and a world traveler and music producer, roasts his own green coffee beans. The place exudes culture with its photography books and visual art available for patrons to enjoy.
Excellent specialty coffee shop in Marseille. Cappuccino was amazing, funny enough they were using Onyx from the states.

Amazing coffee!! One of the best in France! Especially for a picky person like me! Really good coffee! The Americano was very fruity and the latte was nutty!
TC — Google review
I discovered this cozy little café on my last day in Marseille and I instantly regretted not finding it earlier. Still, I managed to visit twice that day, just to savor the coffee one more time. After several days of trying cafés across the city, I had nearly given up hope of finding a truly good cup. As a barista myself, I’m picky and I can confidently say this place makes coffee with genuine love and care. The flavor, the balance, the warmth it all felt just right. The space is small and intimate, but the experience is big-hearted. If you’re a real coffee drinker, someone who appreciates craft and soul in every sip, this is your spot. Don’t miss it.

Excellent coffee with concise menu and little baked goods case. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It has a few tables inside and out on the sidewalk. Centrally located in the city, it's a great place to stop by along many routes. Looking forward to stopping by here again!

I ordered a matcha here and was quite disappointed — it was very weak, almost like drinking plain milk, with no real matcha taste. This place is probably better for coffee lovers, but if you’re looking for good matcha, you should try somewhere else.

Great coffee and really nice atmosphere. I arrived as they were closing but they still made me a great coffee with great latte art and I had a nice chat with both of the friendly staff from France and Japan. Highly recommended, I’ll be going back with more time to enjoy the atmosphere next time.

Le Roi du Couscous is a popular North African restaurant in Marseille, France. It's known for its delicious couscous dishes that have become an integral part of French cuisine. The restaurant offers a beautiful Algerian atmosphere and friendly staff, making it a must-visit spot in Marseille. Visitors praise the generous and quality portions, top-notch service, and excellent tajine and desserts.
Very good Couscous, extremely friendly staff, beautiful typical Algerian atmosphere as well as very clean place. We had a Couscous végétarien and Couscous du Chef with my wife tonight who actually is originally from Algiers and was truly delighted by the quality of the food. A must stop address in Marseille! Highly recommended.

I ordered couscous with chicken and I enjoyed my meal a lot. I paid 14£ for this and I was hoping if I had more time to return back and try the tajin. Pros 👍 ● Great portions that I kept on eating the food over 2 days and I even invited a friend to try. ● The chicken was so tinder, well marinated, and delicious.🍗 ● There tables in the restaurant are comfortable and a big group can go to eat there. ● The bathroom was clean. ● I enjoyed using their plates a lot.🍽🍛 Cons 👎 ● I couldn't understand which kind of vegetables are served as I'm somehow for example intolerant to chickpeas. I hope there are more flexibility with choosing the vegetables in the future.

Terrible: we were 3 adults and 1 child (6 years old) and the waiter refused to serve us because we didn't want to order for the kid. His explanation was: that they don't earn money unless the whole table orders something to eat.

Perched on the cliff separating the Corniche Kennedy from the sea, Hotel nhow Marseille offers a strategic location with spectacular views. The futuristic lobby and corridors lead to a coveted relaxation space where guests can indulge in the spa designed by local architects Claire Fatosme and Christian Lefevre. Managed by spa specialists LV Riviera Spa, it provides an unrivaled vista of the sea. This luxury 4-star hotel is ideally positioned for both business travelers and vacationers seeking comfort.
Great holidays! I’ll definitely come back for my next vacation because the room service was perfect. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the rooms and services right in the city center. There are also plenty of leisure activities around the hotel, offering a wide variety of entertainment.

First. The good. Price point was good for amenities and room quality and pool etc. You are on the water. good. But Far away from cool part of downtown. Not good. If I did this trip again I would actually skip Marseilles altogether. Go to Provence Cannes Nice etc. My issue with this hotel was the Guest Services. I booked two nights instead of one during the week. Realized my mistake on a non refundable purchase within an hour and tried to change it. ( I have done it before a few times. No issues) And they said they would NOT refund me. They literally said it was possible but were choosing not to. I said fine. I accept my loss. Maybe just throw in a dinner credit and we can call it even. I’m here to have a good time. Not gripe about a few hundred dollars. Not even a drink credit lol. I get it. Fine print says one thing. The rest is on this hotel for having poor customer service. Thank you Hotels Tonight for doing your best to assist and asking the hotel to accommodate. You did your part.

7/10 👍 ______ The Hotel & Staff are great. What I experienced so far was that NHow Marsaille is behind NHow Standards I am familiar with. No Teethbrush, Comb etc. on Room and no good English Skills by the employes what lad multiple times to small missunderstandings. A little bit a „stressfull“ atmosphere, mostly iniciated by other guest - not always what I expected, not very polite. A nice place, had a good time, but to expensive measured to what you get.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. We received a room-upgrade and the room offers ocean view. That was one of my wishes in advance. The pool is the highlight of the NHOW. The breakfast with ocean view is outstanding regarding the selection of food and fruits.

I’ve been coming here year after year for decades, and after spending over a month here this summer, I can honestly say the Nhow team Marseille has been nothing short of amazing. They are extremely dedicated to making every stay unforgettable — from the warm welcome at the front desk to the relaxing vibes by the swimming pool. I especially want to highlight Gaëlle, Thaïs, Kada, Frédéric, and Maxence from the swimming pool team for their incredible service and friendly energy. At the restaurant, Melain and Margot brought a casual yet welcoming atmosphere that made every meal a pleasure.(except the pasta-sorry) And of course, the welcome team — with Emmanuelle, Benjamin, Cyril & co — made check-in feel like a “smoothie” experience: fresh, easy, and full of good vibes. Can’t wait to come back again!

I used their taxi service and the driver couldn't give me a receipt and didn't accept card payment. I tried to contact the hotel multiple times, but they do not respond at all. Edit: Still no response, but they forwarded my request and I got a receipt per mail after 2 weeks.

The best thing about staying here was the people - lots of helpful advice from the women on reception as I had to get a very early train from Marseille St Charles station and hadn't used Marseille's metro system before. They gave me a great map and a confidence boost. A good buzz in the bar/restaurant. A couple of niggles about the room - I ended up fixing a piece of cardboard over a light on the broken climate control that kept flashing through the night - but nothing major. Rooms are small but prices reflect that, I think. Am looking forward to staying again.

Restaurant La Baie des Singes is a stunning beachside fish restaurant located in the deep south of Marseille. It offers breathtaking views of dramatic rock formations and a private beach on Ile Marie, where visitors can relax on bright orange loungers while admiring the twinkling waters. The restaurant is known for serving the local catch of the day, providing an opportunity to savor fresh fish from the basket. Additionally, it is recommended to make a reservation due to its popularity.
Spectacular location and enjoyable dinner. Make a reservation in advance and if you want a nice table, perhaps come a bit earlier and avoid the peak season. It was a beautiful hike and despite some reviews, I was surprised to find that the food was great. We had individual dishes at around 30€ each, drinks were regularly priced as well. The prices are quite steep but nothing unreasonable given the prices at restaurants around the area and this restaurant’s singular location. The staff were nothing but kind and the views were stunning. Menus are in French and reservations are made over the phone so it definitely helps to speak French.

Restaurant is located at the top of a mountain with a beautiful view of the calanques. Please note, it requires about a 15 minutes walk to the top with stairs, so it's not really accessible - no strollers should be taken. We were travelling with 3 kids (8, 3 and 2 years old) so it was a hurdle, but overall, really worth it. Food was great as well, and wine recommendation was top!
Julie N — Google review
Beautiful setting, well worth a visit. Don't go with high expectations for food or service. Simple menu with some crazy prices and mid to good food. Waiters seemed stretched and not massively friendly. Was bizarrely told certain ice creams were not available to adults, and had to pay in cash for a drink and an ice cream. That said, it's a stunning and fairly private beach which is great if you don't fancy Tuba Club or it's booked up. The walk from where the cabs drop off is also very beautiful and picturesque through the rocks. Also, you have to book a table at the restaurant to get a bed seemingly- they come hand in hand and the restaurant expects you to eat there before you sunbathe.

Absolutely brilliant, food was epic, staff were amazing, sensational view. I just wish that I could tip with credit card as I rarely carry cash. No complaints, would have just loved to reward Micah for his hard work, great character and sensational service 10/10 would go again, but I would bring cash!

Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend I really cannot recommend this restaurant. We made a reservation well in advance and were genuinely excited to go. Unfortunately, the experience fell flat from the start. The parking situation was a complete nightmare, even on a Sunday. We ended up parking 30 minutes away on foot—not entirely the restaurant's fault, but still frustrating. Despite that, we arrived on time for our reservation, only to find a long queue of other people with the same time slot. We had to wait another 40 minutes just to be seated. Once we got to our table, it still hadn’t been cleared—the table next to us was cluttered with dirty plates and glasses, making it clear that the place was understaffed and overwhelmed. Service was painfully slow. It took forever just to get a menu and drinks, and by the time we finally ordered, it was two full hours after our reserved time. The location itself is beautiful, but the atmosphere leans more toward a casual bistro than a proper restaurant. Given the high prices, the whole experience felt like poor value. The food was just okay—nothing memorable or worth the hassle. All in all, it was a very underwhelming visit. Next time, we’ll just bring a picnic and enjoy the area without the stress.
Mailin B — Google review
The experience at Baiae des Singes was magical….:: the view of the bay stunning; the food exceptional and service both friendly and professional- a wonderful lunch
Steff R — Google review
The setting is beautiful, but the overall dining experience did not meet our expectations. Prices, especially for fish charged per 100 grams, are extremely high for the quality offered. The risotto with gambas was quite disappointing, though the octopus carpaccio was excellent. Overall, an overrated and overpriced experience despite the lovely location.
Shady H — Google review
We were a little wary because of some of the reviews but we had an excellent lunch. Really friendly staff, great food, and we thought it was priced well. Beautiful location, fresh fish prepared simply - can’t ask for more. Only thing to note is it’s about a 15 minute walk from the area you can park in through some hills which may be tough for older people. You need to reserve as well.

Les Réformés Rooftop is a charming rooftop restaurant and bar located atop the Arteplex multi-screen cinema on La Canebiere in Marseille. Named after the neighboring Eglise St Vincent de Paul, this venue offers stunning views of the 19th-century church from its terrace. The menu features seasonal French cuisine with a focus on small plates meant for sharing, complemented by a selection of drinks.
Les Réformés Rooftop in Marseille is an absolute gem and a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in the city. The view from the rooftop is simply unmatched—you’re treated to a stunning panorama of Marseille’s iconic skyline, with the beautiful Notre-Dame de la Garde in the distance, all while enjoying a relaxed, open-air ambiance. The atmosphere alone is worth the visit, especially as the sun sets, casting a warm glow over the city. The wine selection was good, offering a variety of excellent local and international options, all at very reasonable prices. Whether you’re a casual wine drinker or a connoisseur, you’ll appreciate the quality and value here. Each glass paired beautifully with the meal, adding to the overall experience. Dinner was equally delightful. The menu showcased a mix of regional flavors and fresh ingredients, executed with care and creativity. Every dish we tried was flavorful and well-prepared, reflecting the restaurant’s attention to detail and dedication to quality. It’s clear they take pride in offering not just a meal but a full experience for their guests. The combination of delicious food, excellent wine, and that breathtaking view makes Les Réformés Rooftop a top destination in Marseille. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this is one spot you won’t want to miss. Highly recommended for a perfect evening out!

Nice rooftop for a drink, tasty food, Parisian price. Be ware that the waiters are inattentive and you may spend about 30 min waiting for the menu, but then the food and drinks are served fast. Reservation is highly recommended
Nicolas I — Google review
We came for dinner with a reservation and were quite disappointed by the place. Firstly, we waited 25 minutes by the moment we were seated, only to get the menus. We then had to wait another 30 minutes just to receive our drinks, for which we had to call a waiter at least 4-5 times and it seemed really difficult to catch their attention. The food arrived extremely late as well. The food was ok (we tried fish soup and gigot d’agneau) but truly nothing exceptional and felt like it did not match the prices. The staff were +- nice and kind to us but the service is truly problematic. Especially for this price-range as compared to other restaurants in the area. The view is really nice and there’s a beautiful terrace on the rooftop outside.
Alexandre W — Google review
It was good to spend Friday evening in the good atmosphere and have dinner while it is better to have dinner inside and not at the terrace. Entrance is via the cinema - there is an elevator going to the rooftop. Views are impressive. Food was good generally and was brought rapidly. May recommend for a visit while area outside is not the best and it should be considered as well.

Beautiful rooftop above the Canebiere. View on Notre-Dame de Lagarde is magnificent, and the 180° over the roofs of Marseille is absolutely stunning. Sofas are very comfy. Greetings from Brazil! The BEST place we've been in our trip over France. The manager was kind to the point of placing a table for us (not us on a table, a new table) on the best spot for a GREAT view! The St. Germain Spritz is a superb drink. The food is just OUTSTANDING! The Porc Confit with Polenta was probably the best meal I had in 10 days! Oh, I wanted to drink some Rum and I ordered a brand I didn't know. After 2 minutes the manager came to the table and told I ordered a white Rum, and just STATED he would change it for something better. He came from the bar with a nice glass of a delicious amber rum. The ultimate surprise (and act of caring for visitors) came with the check: my Rum and my wife's last drink were listed as "offer" (for free). AWESOME. Sure I'll be back next time in Marseille! Thanks for everything, guys!

My wife and I ate here and absolutely LOVED the food. We live in San Francisco, California and have traveled to Italy a lot in recent years and we enjoy good pizza, and this place ranks up there. My wife doesn't eat pork, and sometimes her options aren't so great. But the Di Paola was the best vegetarian pizza either of us have ever had. The pistou was out of this world. The service was great, and they recommended a local Provençal wine that was also excellent.

However, diners have praised the delicious bonito dinner served with crisp vegetables on the terrace during a warm early spring evening. Don't go. Looks good from the outside but that's all. The food is very bad and overpriced. After being ignored for a while we got water and it was dirty. We ordered salmon steak with salad and potato puree. We got a very dry small piece of salmon, cold grilled vegetables and rice with ketchup on the side instead instead. The waiter was rude and the food with two drinks and dirty water costs us 70€. Avoid at any cost.
Gismo — Google review
Well, we knew it's kind of a touristic trap based on the score, not even 3 out of 5. But we just wanted something light yo eat and drink a coffee to start our day. We did not had michellin star expectations. I travelled a lot and I drank a lot of bad coffee in my life, so I know when to be picky and when not. This "cappuccino" was easily one of the worst coffees I had in my life. It was not even a decent "coffee with milk", not to talk about cappuccino expectations. Now, about the food. We understand if you say that you run out of something (out of pastries for the breakfast option in this case), but when the waiters and the service is so unorganised and confuse the hell out of us, it's hard to understand. We ended eating salted crepes. Most of them were shitty, one was decent enough, but guess what. 10 minutes after, the person that had the luck to eat the decent crepes, started having some tummy issues. Coincidence? I think not. All in all, the vibe and the view of the port is nice. Stick to drinking something from a bottle and move on. Or avoid it for good.

Worst food i’ve ever had. Burger tasted worse than McDonalds, two members of our party are sick from eating the seafood, everything outrageously expensive (11 euro beer!). Bouillabaisse looked and tasted like sewerage. Avoid at all costs. There was also a rat which ran through the restaurant.

I almost never write a review, but in this case I feel I must. One would think you could get decent mussels (in this case, moules marinière specifically) in this of all cities, especially at a restaurant astride the harbor, but alas no. I'm 60 years old and I can promise you I have never, ever left an uneaten mussel in a pot or on a plate, but today I did--quite a few of them in fact. The ingredients were either not fresh or substandard and preparation was void of finesse: the parsley and garlic were either --to my cook's eye-- processed in a Cuisinart or by pestle and mortar into an unpleasant paste which sat in clumps atop rather aged and withered creatures (poor things) which swam in a shallow pool of (hold your seat for this) an unctuous (yes, I mean "greasy") broth. Reviewers do tend to speak in platitudes I realize, but these are the worst I've ever had anywhere but in fairness to the restauranteur(euse) I do not expect to be retching from botulism later. The house red was delicious, but too expensive at 8 Euros a glass.

The self service concept allows for keen prices for the delicious high end food on offer. Run by a local lady, a young team of chefs create some wonderful dishes. there is a basic sunny terrace to the rear. Good wines and the local pils is pretty good. Booking advised.

Incredible food. The lamb was the most tender, juicy meat I’ve ever had. The chocolate desert which contained Jerusalem artichoke (?!!!) was out of this world! Super cool selection of natural wines by Simon. Thank you for an amazing evening!

Original options with fresh seasonal food. Cantine concept for lunch which we've found interesting. Definitely recommended if you like fresh food with social/environmental mindset.

Great meal in Marseille! Cute place and the servers were friendly and accommodating. It was a bit intimidating at first to translate the handwritten French menu to English, but every dish and drink we got was delicious and creative.
Laura G — Google review
Lovely courtyard restaurant with super cool atmosphere and amazing flavours. Recommend!!
Becky G — Google review
The food is great and the host is even greater 😀 Cozy back garden/terrace for the warmer days.
Alkistis P — Google review
This is such an unexpected pleasure. In a Buzzy area of Marseille. It has inventive food with zesty flavours and at times a North African influence. The food is really high-quality and deeply tasty with some amazing combinations which are surprising and delicious. We got lots of small plates to try and the bill was really reasonable. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Restaurant
Libala is a restaurant in Marseille, France, known for its unique blend of French and Congolese cuisine. Chef Hugues Mbenda infuses his dishes with flavors inspired by West African ingredients. The restaurant offers a Sunday brunch with multiple options to create your ideal meal at either 11:30 am or 1:30 pm. Guests can expect freshly prepared food with African influences and a welcoming atmosphere for families.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. There was no plaintain but this was replaced with sweet potato fries which went very well with their classic burger. I also had the drink of the day (lemon and vanilla ice tea) while the vanilla was not to my taste, the drink was still lovely. I would definitely come again.
Mide O — Google review
Really great veggie burger, incredible juice as well. The local beers were delicious.

Read about this place in the Guardian and sought it out on a recent trip to Marseille for lunch. Lovely food and friendly service - great falafel, flavoursome with a pickle salad. Their homemade ginger pineapple juice was a lovely extra. Recommend!
Leanne G — Google review
There is really nothing bad. We were totally satisfied, everything was tasty and for a good price. There may be a problem to have a spot if you're a big group, but 2-4 people always find a place.
Marek B — Google review
I had, essentially fish and chips. But fancy. And I loved it. Service was great. They only had one wine and it was also great
Natalie H — Google review
If you want to find delicious original food from an African background.., you definitely must go to Libala. My only B- flat is related to a little too much noise when the restaurant is full... since it's a very good place.... it's often full!
Michèle S — Google review
The foods taste really good and the crews were very accommodating.

Ice cream shop
Vanille Noire is a charming ice cream shop located between the Vieux Port promenade and the winding streets of Le Panier. The star of the show here is their signature inky black vanilla ice cream, which not only looks stunning but also offers a delightful flavor. The shop's vibrant yellow tables make for an Instagram-worthy setting to enjoy this unique treat.
So delicious! I tried the nectarine and Vanilla noire, and friends tried a variety of flavours which were all so yum!

beirut flavour was lovely. on the pricier side

Excellent gelato and ice cream. Delicious flavors such as raspberry and more special such as vanilla noire. Tried the 3 stores in Marseille, all very good. Nice service with a smile!
Rachel S — Google review
We tried the passion fruit and the Vanilla Noire. The passion fruit was amazing but the iconic black vanilla was very disappointing. We weren’t able to taste the vanilla seeds at all, it was just a really sweet milky sorbet with a metallic aftertaste.
Edith E — Google review
very original awesome ice cream. if you need a break after walking around pop here for a mid afternoon/pre dinner snack!!! she has crazy flavours, it's almost like Pokémon. new flavours everyday, got to try them all.

Really tasty ice cream, we tried the basil, coconut and apricot. All 3 were delicious! The woman serving us was so friendly and helpful
Imogen F — Google review
Don’t waste your calories. Overpriced, instagrammable yet less than mediocre ice cream. Tried 4 flavours: icy texture, bland flavours and low quality overall. Don’t be fooled by the reviews!
Sophie — Google review
Amazing sorbet and ice cream. Unique. Wife says it’s the best vanilla ice cream they’ve ever had.

Great environment with a fair price. I would recommend it although staff should take care of the two annoying pigeons that were around.

(Translated by Google) Excellent little restaurant, very good value for money and above all very pleasant not to have to let go of an arm in a four-star hotel. It's the right compromise. The dishes are very tasty, a real pleasure. They are presented in an original way but this does not detract from their flavor. It's not at all close! In addition, the staff is very welcoming and also very accommodating! Especially with hotel guests. I say bravo!

(Translated by Google) The setting is nice and pleasant, pretty terrace by the swimming pool. It lacks a bit of decoration on the outside while the interior is very arty, which is a shame. For my part, no wait at all for the service as read below in the comments and really friendly staff, who take great care! A small disappointment with the dishes, the cuisine is correct, it's fresh but for my part I expected a little more choice on the BARBECUE formula and perhaps a better presentation of the starters and desserts (which were in jars ), I had a fish dish which was very well cooked but the vegetables were a little too oily for me, it lacked a bit of refinement for a restaurant located in a 4-star hotel.

(Translated by Google) It was delicious from starter to dessert: poached egg and shakchouka, duck breast with honey/soy/rosemary sauce, salted butter caramel verrine. Perfect breads and wines. Excellent value for money. (Original) Ce fut délicieux de l'entrée au dessert : œuf poché et chakchouka, magret de canard sur sa sauce miel/soja/romarin, verrine caramel beurre salé. Pains et vins parfaits. Excellent rapport qualité prix.

(Translated by Google) Very relaxing setting. It feels like you're on vacation. Very caring Cuban waiter. The menu is mouth-watering and we enjoy it from starter to dessert. Top notch service. Super good. (Original) Cadre tres reposant. On s y sent comme en vacances. Serveur cubain aux petits soins. Le menu donne l eau à la bouche et on se régale de l entrée jusqu'au dessert.
