Best banitsa I had on my entire trip to Bulgaria. Served directly from a baking tray, warm and delicious. It is priced by weight, at a very reasonable rate. The lady behind the counter was also very nice, and keen to help us as much as she could, when she noticed that we clearly don't understand much Bulgarian (most of the clients were locals and she spoke none English, which made the whole situation even kinder:) )

The banitsa was fresh and tasty. Boza drink was good too. Not a lot choice though it was either spinach or cheese when we visited. Seemed popular with the locals. No frills place. Cash only. Affordable.

first breakfast in bulgaria and i’m left completely satisfied. we had the spinach bansita and the cheese one and both were amazing. yoghurt drink to wash it all down. if this is what I can expect from bulgarian food i’ll be leaving heavier than I arrived. NOTE: it’s cash only (lev only) but there’s a bank right next door that we went to because we were not prepared to miss out on this food

Great banitsa in a very local place, not aimed at tourists. But for some reason, two days in a row, they only had banitsa with cheese and nothing else.

We came here for breakfast to try the highly recommended Banitsa! They did not disappoint!! Delicious! We had cheese and also tried the pumpkin banitsa! Very friendly service - thank you! I recently dined a few times at this buffet restaurant in downtown Sofia, and it was a decent experience! The food was consistently great, with a diverse selection of dishes that catered to various tastes. I highly recommend anything they do with turkey. While the prices are on the higher side and the portions aren't particularly large, the quality and flavor of the food made it worth. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff were friendly. The place is clean. Overall, a good spot for a satisfying meal in the heart of the city!

I come here everyday during my stay at a hotel nearby. The menu is different everyday, all are delicious, and with good price. Staff are friendly, willing to speaking English to me. Highly recommended!

My objective for this visit was to experience a traditional Bulgarian dinner, which was successfully accomplished. The quality of the cuisine was exceptional, and the service provided was equally commendable. I appreciated how the decor and atmosphere respectfully honored tradition while incorporating modern design elements. For future consideration, I would suggest reviewing the wine list. The lack of a "house wine" option and the generally high average price point could be areas for improvement to enhance the overall value proposition for diners

The place is nice for tourists and business dinners. The atmosphere is pleasant and they have own room for bigger groups. They speak English and are used to hosting tourists . The food itself is a modern version of traditional bulgarian food but was still nice.Service was okay.It is pretty expensive

Beautiful experience. All the details have been thoughtfully handled. The paintings on the wall are gorgeous. The accents of table runners and fabric and tiles compliment. The interior is comfortable and authentic. The food is delicious! We split two salads: shopka and another local salad with sheep's cheese with zucchini and tomatoes. Both were excellent. We also split the trout and the pastry similar to spanokapita but with ground meat. Everything was delicious. Freshly prepared with lots of flavor. I loved this experience and highly recommend it. The own came over to chat and explain about the dishes. It was a great restaurant to try while visit!

We really enjoyed our meal of a traditional Bulgarian cuisine. I had the beef stew with root vegetables, shopska salad and loved the wine recommendation. Highly recommend in central Sofia for late lunch or dinner. Ambiance was warm with traditional Bulgarian decor and portraits of traditional Bulgarian women. Lovely place and great food. Portions of our main courses were larger than other restaurants we tried.

The food was delicious and the location quite central, making it a pleasant spot to stop for a meal. We sat outside, which was comfortable thanks to the outdoor fans providing a nice breeze. Service was generally okay—nothing exceptional but efficient enough. What left a sour note, however, was the experience at the end. When the bill arrived, the waiter directly asked for a tip. We politely declined, as the service was basic—he simply took our order and cleared the plates. His demeanor noticeably changed after that, and he didn’t even say goodbye once the bill was paid. Tipping, in our view, should be a gesture of appreciation, not an expectation or obligation. When it feels forced, it takes away from the overall experience. That said, we still enjoyed the food and the setting.

I visited the restaurant with my family and we tried a variety of dishes to get the full experience. The Shopska salad was fresh and delicious, and everything that followed — the lamb, the chicken, and the pork cheeks — was incredibly flavorful. We finished with desserts: the Bulgarian chocolate and the white chocolate biscuits, both of which were outstanding. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to enjoy authentic Bulgarian cuisine in Sofia.

The food is traditional but with a wonderful twist. It’s delicious — the prices are a bit high, but definitely worth it! A great experience… I recommend trying the rose lemonade.

We were so pleased with Raketa Rakia Bar. We popped there without reservation and got a table in the bar. We got some food and wine. Food was decent size, not overly big, but well presented and super tasty. The wine was gorgeous and the dessert lovely. Service was superb and we got to try some rakish. We thoroughly enjoyed it all. A fun place to enjoy a meal with a cool ode to the Soviet area. The restaurant does get quite busy, so a reservation is a good idea. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. We enjoyed a classic salad, fried cheese and tomatoes dish, and the meatballs and sausage. We definitely left feeling very full! The waiter offered us some “complementary” liquor, only to charge us at the end, which wasn’t the best experience. We also waited a long time for our main dish, so we weren’t blown away by the service. Still worth a visit while you’re in Sofia.

The restaurant atmosphere is pretty good and staff were friendly and responsive, but the price is just too high for the quality of food compared to other restaurants. To be clear, the food IS good, but when you have a noticeably higher price tag, just "good" is not enough for a high rating. The high price also applies to soft drinks - I can get having more expensive alcoholic ones (I mean it's in the name so you'd expect more specialised stuff to have higher markups) but the normal store-bough stuff you find everywhere could be cheaper for sure.

Very cool bar if you want to sample local rakia and local Bulgarian food. It’s styled like USSR Bulgaria. Very good servers. Tasty food. Nice drinks. Can get a bit loud later in the evening. But the atmosphere is pretty awesome. They will carefully pack your unfinished food to take home with you, which is great.

Absolutely in awe... This place is so tightly conceptualized and then the food is also this good and the place so pleasant to eat at and the prices so decent. I can't recommend this place enough for great Bulgarian food - much of it inspired by the period of socialism.

Great food and excellent service! They do like to garnish most dishes with dill or parsley, so if that’s not your thing, just let them know and they'll leave it off.

Appetizers and beer were good, however I tried to avoid dill, which was not listed in the menu in the food that I ordered. The most food came covered in dill and there went my apetite. Otherwise good atmosphere, the wait time could get better but was not bad. A prior reservation is recommended. You cannot split the bill, which made it quite inconvenient.

Very creative menu with heaven made combination of flavors, excellent delicious food made with very fresh ingredients. Dishes are served at all different times, but I guess it’s like that pretty much everywhere around Bulgaria. Went here twice on my two day stay in Sofia, fully recommend. Atmosphere is the cutest.

What an oasis! This restaurant is inside a two-level building that makes you feel like you're in someone's house. Our server kept our water glasses full with cold water and the menu is unique. To eat, we ordered the chilled yogurt soup, which was unique, but needed a little salt. Next, we got the potatoes, which are tasty, but more like French fries with cheese on top. The real winner for uniqueness was the cream cheese banana bread with spring onions, bacon, mustard sauce, and pecans. It was such an odd mix that I actually loved it! Their white sangria was sweet, but very refreshing!

Cozy, vintage atmosphere and truly delicious food – the hummus with warm, crispy bread was a standout, the tuna with green salad was fresh and light, and the spicy shrimp tagliatelle was full of flavor. Super delicious food with plenty of options for everyone. The cocktails are also great - and that's coming from an ex-cocktail bartender. I took the turkey with a chickpea and mint puree and it was outstanding! My husband took the other turkey option with potatoes, celeriac and roasted onions. Both were very good. The service is great: the waiter also spoke perfect English, was very attentive and even helped accommodate my very complicated allergy. Also, the garden is gorgeous, shaded by plants and has a vibe, perfect for a summer afternoon. They also serve a range of really great natural and bulgarian wines, good enough to satisfy our sommelier friend we were with! Definitely worth a visit.

This is true jem, modern and updated kitchen, with creative dishes and great produce. You should definitely try the banana bread, it has a touch of genius.

Nice place also for fast and great breakfast! We enjoyed very good breakfast there. We had some traditional Serbian breads, milk and relatively fine coffee. Service was nice and friendly. There is very fine outdoor terrace directly in front of the restaurant. You are seated in the middle of nice public space with full of life.

We had a great lunch, the staff is really friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, we had the soup of the day and the potato stew and both tasted amazing. The coffee is also really nice. The pumpkin pastry is worth getting too! Would definitely recommend! All the cookies and loads of pastries were vegan, and so were loads of items on the menu.

Great food and lovely host! It started off a bit weird, but maybe that's because we didn't speak Bulgarian and the host didn't know what to expect. It also took a while before everyone from the group arrived and we entered close to closing hours ;) Everything on the menu looked very good and the waiter passed by to tell us which dishes of the day were already finished. One dish had one portion and was served immediately, but it was cold. At first it was a problem to heat it up, but he understood it was too cold to enjoy. Then it came back warm with the other dishes. The eggplant with mozzarella in tomato sauce was delicious. It was sweet and hearty and just the right portion. The host was very kind when he sensed that we enjoyed his food and turned humble. All in all it was a great experience in a country that focusses on meat!

Food is good, but portions are a bit small for the price and the service is slow. We waited for ten minutes after sitting down, and when no one showed up to take our order, we had to go inside to summon them out. At the end, while paying at the register (as you have to go inside for card payments), the cashier still had to explicitly ask for a tip for the waiters and staff. Tips have to be earned and not automatically given. Asking for them is poor customer service.

I really, really hate leaving a bad review for this place. I even held off a bit on writing this, and am only doing so because I passed on going to this place for supper tonight after my last experience. My review isn't about the food-- that's usually great. It's about the service, and one waitress in particular, the one with the dreadlock. I'm not sure what her deal is, but everytime I have had her as our waitress she has been nothing short of insufferable. I am not a complainer or anything like that, either. But last time I was there she rolled her eyes at me (pretty sure for something simple, like wanting a to-go box). The only reason I didn't say anything is because I had my mom with me and it was supposed to be a nice night. It was so bad and she was so rude that I even had to tell the cashier to make sure my tip went to other staff members. If you value good customer service, make sure this person does not serve you at this restaurant.

my mate and I tried 4 mekitsas - cheese and ham, cheese and salami, cheese and fig jam and nutella and banana - and we were not let down by any of them. 24 lev for these 4 is a relatively cheap lunch/brunch spot. the people making them were super fast as well we only waited like 2 minutes to have them fried and put together. the atmosphere is also really cute upstairs and you can watch the street while you enjoy your mekitsas. left feeling very very full. big 🪭

I stopped by Мекица и Кафе in Sofia and really enjoyed it. I had a mekitsa with cream cheese and blueberry jam — it was delicious, freshly made, and served quickly. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the place itself has a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. A great spot for a simple but memorable local snack.

Had a wonderful breakfast here. Me and my gf treated ourselves to 4 of their Makitsa’s (2 savoury, 2 sweet). Can say, our gluttony was worth it. Although i’m feeling stuffed like Hansel and Gretel ready for the oven, each one was just as good as the last! and i can’t regret my choices. I recommend the fig jam and cheese, banana and nutella, cheese and sausage and cheese and ham. Very tasty and def will be back!

Insanely good Mekitsa. We ordered a selection of sweet and savoury ones, plus mini with pistachio paste. Every single one was delicious and I strongly recommend the caramelised banana one - it was my favourite. The staff is also lovely and service is fast. Strongly recommend

I tried Mekitsa — it’s tasty, but not the best street food in Sofia. Still, I recommend trying it. I had a bit of a stomach ache because of the fried dough (it doesn’t suit me).

We had our lunch in here after going around the city and before flying back home. We found a table for two. The lady who attended to us was just lovely. We ordered 2 Bulgarian dishes which were in their special menu, a shopska salad plus a bottle of Bulgarian red wine which she recommended to us as one of the best wines in their list. Ambience was quite good with those decorations around. Presentation of the food was great. Food itself was delicious, well prepared and well plated. We ended our lunch with a delicious home made chestnuts cake with gorgonzola and Plum ice cream. Highly recommended.

We went there every day when we visit Sofia in september. I knew about the restaurant because i already tryed it the one in Veliko. The food is amazing, the prices are high but it is worthy. The duck fillet with mascarponemousse and jam is amazing, also the burger is yummy and the pork ribs.You can try all the dishes that you want. We only took limonade for drinks but it s the best limonade(i think it was strawberry). Also try the salad, and pita with garlic and for deserts: chocolate cake and kunefe. The pizza was not so good. Walked in without a reservation on a Saturday evening and waited about 20 minutes for a table — that’s a win in my book. The staff were warm and courteous. I was dining solo, and my server was genuinely kind, checking in a few times and offering helpful recommendations despite the language barrier. They have an English menu, which made ordering super easy. I absolutely loved the decor and ambience — grand, elegant, and beautifully lit by a floral chandelier. Several groups were celebrating birthdays, which says a lot about how popular this place is with both locals and tourists. The food was amazing, generously portioned, and served beautifully in a traditional clay pot. Overall, a delightful dining experience — I’d happily go back!

During our trip to Sofia, I celebrated my birthday at the restaurant. We were treated very nicely and everything we tried was delicious. They even sang happy birthday and placed the candles in our dessert. It’s in a very touristic spot, so I recommend to make a reservation if you want to try during your trip.

We loved this place! It was our first night, so we hadn't quite got our bearings but this was already on our list. The food was excellent (have the cotton bread too, it's to die for). Service was swift but friendly and the interior is upmarket, comfortable and sophisticated. We didn't have a reservation but they seated us at the bar and a table became free within around 10 minutes. If you really do want to eat here, it might be better to book but it's not necessary.

Ate twice here while I was in Sofia. The pulled bread pogatcha is phenomenal, recommend the lamb or the burgers. Recommend to prebook as this place is busy! I waited less than half hour though so if you are patient you won’t have worry. Prices are little bit in higher end, but the quality of food and service justifies it!

It was a delicious brunch. A nice place where you can eat your brunch. It can be a little crowded sometimes but if you can find a place to stay the atmosphere is awesome. Also they make a tasy coffee ( vegetal milk options included).

Absolutely loved everything about this place! I ordered the salad with pear in it but there were sooo many options to choose from! Everyone was extremely friendly, the seating was easy to find and the food was delicious and super filling. Would highly recommend!!

I used to come here frequently almost six years ago and it was a pleasant surprise to see it still open and serving amazing food. A fantastic option for breakfast, off the main streets and a really nice location. Eggs and Avacado a highly recommended as well as fresh Orange juice. Highly recommend for breakfast.

It was fine, not terrible but also not amazing like its rating would suggest. Friendly staff, offered an English menu when I arrived. Had the yoghurt with fruit and a little bit (would have expected a bit more) of granola. Had there been more granola it would have been nicer. My wife wanted mekitsi but they no longer have it on the menu

My go to place for brunch every week. I mostly order a delivery and every single item is delicious and just as described and pictured. My all time favorites- the smoked salmon sandwich, pepperoni toast and their amazing eclairs.

I can’t understand the high ratings of this restaurant. The banitsas (I ordered a sweet and a savory one) as well as a strudel were absolutely dry and lacking flavor, for that high price totally not worth it. I don’t know why they have such high ratings on Glovo, Take away and here. Would not recommend.

Cheap and delicious Bulgarian food! Loved the fries and chutney. Our server didn’t speak English but he did his best to try to help us and we appreciated that a lot! The restaurant is clean and cozy, a lot of the locals come. And the portions were pretty big considering the fair prices. Definitely would recommend!

The place underwent a complete renovation and the new look is very clean and pleasant. Very good food at reasonable prices. It is hard to get a table. It has become even more popular after the renovation.

This is a traditional bulgarian Механа where like in the old days you can order everything separate and to share. We had fish, meat, salad and fries. The food traditionally comes unseasoned and you have salt, pepper, oil & vinegar on the table. This place is also in the most expensive area of the city and for that the prices are absolutely reasonable. You want authentic - you get authentic!

Great Bulgarian food kitchen. Very low-key vibe. Every time I come it’s always full for lunch, sometimes evens helps to make reservation to guarantee a table. Food is tasty. Only reason why not 5 stars is that one of the waiters needs to work a bit more on his customer service.

Made in home has now a renewed and fresh new vision and name - Dark sister by Made in Home- it’s artsy, has both modern and retro vibes and the place is not less inviting than before. Food is good, there was a phenomenal Pavlova cake with charcoal layers (!!!) that I did not try and now I have to go back to correct it if I don’t want to go crazy🤪🤪 Sorry, nothing added about the service, so i had to edit this- very kind service as well, very present and responsive all the time. The place is very charming, and the menu is interesting. The service is very courteous, and the interior is unique and pleasant. The food is excellently prepared. I would visit again.

I used to visit the restaurant a lot before but haven’t done it for a while. This time i was not super impressed by the service and the quality of the food. We visited the restaurant without reservation and luckily there was a table. We waited a lot for bringing us the salads. Both salads and the appetizer were good. The main dishes were not so good. The baked cabbage was super strange and not delicious and the fish was too sour. The desert was also not so impressive, nevertheless everything was super fresh. The service was slow, hectic and they did not take our dishes before I requested so.

The food was tasty, although the chicken was quite fatty, which really comes down to personal preference. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. Also helped us looking for an atm cause it’s cash only. It did take about 25 minutes before we got the bill, so it’s not the best place if you’re in a hurry. Overall though, we’d still recommend it!

Very slow service, way too expensive for what you get, it was cold inside because it was opened everywhere, lack of information about the foos from the waiter and his rhetorical and laconic way of talking. Many things from the menu were missing and they inform you for this in the middle of eating or after 20 minutes of waiting. You wait for a salad for 25-30 minutes. It is said "cash only" in the menu, still we asked for a POS to pay, they said they have but it is broken. FYI it is broken every time you go there. So either they dont have or either lie about it. Then we waited the waiter to go for a change to the nearby shop. Do not recommend. 🤓

As a tourist in Sofia with an obvious knee injury, I was in a difficult situation and desperately needed an accessible restroom. I couldn't walk much further, and the bandages on my leg made it clear. I went to Boom Burger and explained my emergency, even offering to pay or buy something from the menu in order to use the restroom. The staff working this afternoon responded with remarkable arrogance and refused my requests. They didn't even bother to suggest a nearby alternative and simply ignored me after the refusal. This kind of service isn't just rude—it's utterly heartless and shows a complete lack of basic human decency. This experience left an extremely negative impression. It's a shame a place can be so inhospitable. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant.

We came here based on recommendations. The restaurant was quite empty, and we were seated easily. The service was excellent, and the food tasted good, but the prices are very high for the portion sizes, especially compared to other places in Sofia. It was also odd that they charge extra for ketchup and mayonnaise. The menu is nice, the place is very clean and well-organized. We ordered a burger, chicken strips, and fries – everything came hot and fairly quickly. The restrooms were also clean. Overall, decent experience, but I don’t plan to return due to the high prices.

The place offers one of the most delicious burgers in Sofia. Highly recommend it. The sizes are a bit small for the money but they are delicious and the service is very nice. The waiters are very polite and make you feel welcome. This is why I am not removing one star for the size. You can park on a paid parking nearby and walk to the restaurant. Overall if you want to spoil yourself with a bit more expensive and very tasty meal - this is a very nice option. At least for locals. For tourists, it might not be that expensive rather normal price range. Enjoy!

Quite good. Food is great, menu is nice, prices are okay, I guess - a few points: service wasn't great for our table and why don't they do cloth napkins? Seems like it would fit. Would still definitely go again though!

We went in the Restaurant without reservation. Elena managed with a big smile and a warm heart that we could stay. The food was delicious, the Dubai Cheese cake the best cake I ever had. Great service from Elena, Alex and Velizar. Thank you for the wonderful dinner, it has been a pleasure for us. Sure we will come back! This was our first dinner in Bulgaria, and it was simply fantastic. We had the chicken, the Lemonville meatballs, and a venison, appetizer sampler plate, along with a dish of eggplants and peppers and bread. The flavors were magnificent, everything was fresh and hearty, and the staff really made us feel at home. Incredibly cozy, we are already talking about going back tomorrow because it was so good.

Very good restaurant everything was perfect We ate the shrimps and the pork and chicken tartar. There was no place in the main room so we ate outside in the warm tent you must reserve a place in advance.

What a lovely place to dine in! Unpretentious, cozy, and serving truly delicious food! And a rich variety of it! The staff were very polite and friendly. Serving sizes were adequate and the price-value ratio was more than great. Lots of vegetarian options on the menu! Can’t think of anything I wasn’t happy with, maybe be prepared that your clothes might smell a bit of food, but it’s not a big deal, just air them out after. Will definitely be visiting again!

We visited the restaurant on Saturday night and the area was very quiet. The food was good, especially the Jhol Momo was tasty. We also liked the Katmandu Mutton. Raja-Rani Polau and Nun were average on taste. The main dish comes without rice or bread. You have to order each item separately. Drinks and services could be improved. We had expected more hospitable and friendly services. Menus are little bit expensive compared to the quality, taste, services, and location.

Ok so Street Chefs has started to go down. At one point they were number one in Sofia, when it comes to gourmet burgers, but just like Boom Burgers, a confused strategy has resulted in this now chain of places to really go down in terms of quality. The place at Alabin had no working toilets, the French fries 🍟 were cold. The burger itself was good and the beer was, as you would expect, good. It's Bavarian import. However, if things continue on this path, Street Chefs will follow the figure of Boom Burgers and just be relegated to the 3rd shelf of gourmet burgers. Sad.

We ordered Gorgonzola burger and the chef’s burger and both of them were the worst burgers we’ve had in Sofia and we have visited most of them. The burger is really small which has never been an issue as long as it tastes good, but unfortunately it did not. The meat in the picture is supposed to be medium-rare. The cheddar did not taste good at all and the only thing you could taste in the Gorgonzola burger was the gorgonzola. They didn’t offer us any napkins, because they were waiting for them to be delivered which is absurd. We understand the lack of a WC, but you’re serving food that is supposed to be eaten with hands, so I don’t understand how you could run out of napkins… there is a 24/7 shop on the opposite side of the street that we had to buy napkins from which they could have easily done themselves and saved themselves the embarrassment.

What happened to you guys? In the past this was the best place for burgers compared to Skapto and Boom now it’s just disgusting… the workers looks like they don’t have 18 they’re very rude to the customers, the burger was supposed to be medium rare came well done. Apparently not the same quality and yet the same price even higher. I tried to take a good picture of the burger but it’s still 🤮 The bread was old and just completely destroyed after the first bite.

Taste is lacking. There is almost nothing in the burger. And there is no side, which you’d expect for such a high price. The burger was full of sauce but it was still very dry because the bun was old. Almost any other place in Sofia is much better or provides the same quality for half the price. We were the only ones there. When our order was ready, some lady started screaming with our order number, which nobody told me. It took me a while to figure out she was screaming at me. I would have tipped if she had brought me the order. There were absolutely no other customers anyway…

This place was SO freaking good. Omg, these burgers were absolutely, freaking amazing!! If you like a good burger, can't recommend enough! I asked for my burger to be rare/medium rare (which u almost never get with burgers) Did. Not. Disappoint. They were so delicious and the fries were on point. If we weren't flying out early the next morning, we would have been back again, for sure!

We ordered two burgers with jalapeño “chef’s burger” but there was ZERO jalapeños in both burgers. That really disappointed me, the whole burger itself tasted just fine, but i am really disappointed that in both burgers we didn’t find nor even one slice of jalapeño…this is not what we expected and the burgers were a but cold, but i guees that what you pay during “winter” for the delivery option in here. The delivery was on time 👍🏼

Excellent place. But what made the difference was the taste of the food! Simply incredible. They are using seasonal ingredients prepared with high standards and quality. The service could be a bit better - we were given a table next to the WC although it was reservation made days in advance for a couple. And there were available tables. We had to specifically ask in order to be moved. Shout out to the waiter who served us! Also the waitress answering the phone is a bit rude. Not matching the excellent food and atmosphere. Overall they need to invest a bit in terms of organization. However the most important thing - the taste of the food is perfect!

I was surprised how delicious and well prepared is the food. We gathered for a work meeting and the vibe was high and cheerful! Service is fast, garden is tiny, yes, but for our purposes it appeared fine. There was a live guitar performance , such a classy old musician. Thank you! The evening became more special here.

Very nice and cozy garden restaurant. However, waiters were not attentive and did not really make us feel welcome. But the worst part was the food unfortunately. We had the own recipe gyros and it just had a weird taste to it. The flatbread was not fully baked through, the tzatziki tastes just like yogurt.

We came for a Sunday lunch, the atmosphere is great in the garden - a bunch of trees, the tables are well distanced between each other. The staff was wonderful - very attentive and kind. We had pizzas and they were incredible, offering slight twists on timeless classics. 10/10 would recommend

Food was good in general,except the salad (it was mediocre).The best meal was the lavrak...and the deserts (fantastic). The atmosphere was urban ,very pleasant. The Server attendance can be improved. A great atmosphere reminiscent of space and the Soviet era. The cocktails are unique and well-balanced, although they use unusual ingredients. You should definitely try them. The only downside was being charged an extra 5 euros for nuts just because we were foreigners. Despite that, it was very good; just be cautious if you're Greek or a tourist, so they don't overcharge you unless nuts are priced strangely. Also, watch out for the street behind the bar - we saw someone trying to steal a car when we took a taxi home 😂

TOURIST TIP: Great service and great drinks. Place is great but when I went alone - the pay terminal had an entry for tipping which felt odd but I did anyway. But when I went with a Bulgarian friend, it didn’t have such option. So be aware, they don’t ask for tips for locals, just tourists it seems. 😕 otherwise great bar.

After someone announced that here is the best tripe soup 🍜 we had to test it. Unfortunately it was far away from the best, not even in the first ten. We tried also some other dishes which weren’t bed but didn’t impress us much either.

This is such a great local place with a rustic Bulgarian feel. The chicken stuffed with asparagus and cheddar sent my taste buds swirling! The house wine was a great paring with the meat patties. I will say the croquettes were light and delicate. I added a side of hot peppers to give things a bit of spice and it was the perfect level. Spice level was higher than a poblano but significantly less than a jalapeño with a perfect balance of pickled flavor from the vinegar. Staff was very friendly with my lack of Bulgarian look forward to coming back to this place on my next visit to Sofia! Reservations over the phone were easy to make and I would recommend calling ahead.

The restaurant is a bit out of the way down an alley between 2 buildings, we didn't make a reservation but they had tables available, it's a small restaurant and it did get busy after so we were lucky with the time we went. Food was quick and cooked well. I had the pulled pork with a jacket potato, the meat was succulent with adequate sauce. A second potato would have been nice as there was a lot of meat, although I wouldn't complain.

Came for an evening meal here. Very welcoming atmosphere, nice interior, very friendly and helpful service. Food was good, reasonably priced and large portions. I don't think the chef understands portion control but I shouldn't complain because I was certainly full by the time I left. Nice variety of food. Overall a very nice place.

Lovely bistro. Tucked away in court between houses. Nicely decorated. Somewhat darker inside but nice bright beer garden available. We had lunch midweek. It was very quite. The service was excellent. English menu used with plenty of food on offer. We ordered some salads, ribs and schnitzel with local beer. Dishes were out quickly. Portions were not massive but well made and nicely presented. Reasonably priced. Overall very nice experience

The atmosphere at Mehana Mamin Kolyo was authentic, and the food was decent. However, considering the quality, the dinner felt overpriced. While it was a nice experience overall, the value didn’t quite match the cost.

For a long time I didn't have such a bad experience. My order was chicken heart and rice with Coca-Cola. First I got chicken heart and after a 5 minutes rice when I was leaving table already. Yes, leaving after I just tried one because taste was so bad. And of top of all, bill was 12.74€. I would never come here again, don't repeat my mistake, find some better place or just eat something from grocery store.

The ambience of the restaurant is lovely! However, the food was fairly average, as we had better food for the same price elsewhere. Two of the five dishes were overcooked, but since the rest were very good, it might had just been a mishap. The service was slow, but friendly.

Mehana Mamin Kolyo in Sofia offers a lovely, authentic Bulgarian atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area is charming, but during lunch it can get quite hot—no fans in sight—though moving indoors is easy, and there's air conditioning. The staff are friendly and helpful, recommending great local dishes. The food is tasty and well-prepared, but prices are a bit on the high side, especially compared to some central Sofia spots. Still, a cozy place for traditional cuisine.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Sofia. The food was really poor in quality and definitely not worth the price — much higher than the city average. When it came time to pay, they gave me less change than I was supposed to receive. When I pointed it out, the staff started talking among themselves in Bulgarian (their expressions said it all) and only after a few minutes did they reluctantly hand me the correct amount. Extremely rude and unprofessional service. Don’t go there, even if your hotel recommends it — as ours unfortunately did.

Tbh I just left before even checking the menu, I went in with someone to sit and eat in a cozy Bulgarian restaurant however what I got was the side of a 6 person table with two people on the left side of it smoking. To the right we have a lovely 6 people all loudly talking. from just seeing the horrific dinner experience I was about to have I decided to hand the women her menu back and left. Idk if it’s culture or what but I have never sat in a restaurant meant to serve people food having multiple people inside smoking cigarettes. It smelled like a barn and cigarettes in there, almost felt like I was back in Iceland with my sheep. Any case if ur going out eating with anyone or someone special do not pick this place it’s off its head. And they clearly don’t care to place you in a cozy area either.

THIS RESTAURANT IS UNREAL! I haven’t been to a better one if I have to be completely honest! The food is insane, the staff - the waitress is the best!!!, and the whole atmosphere is completely perfect. There isn’t a single thing that was lacking. I can’t believe how good it is! Also it’s really affordable. I’m mesmerized!!! The BEST JAPANESE FOOD EVER!!!

The shrimp salad was surprisingly good. Great combination of sweetness from marinated mushroom and saltiness from the shrimp and dressing. The ramen was ok, love the egg but the noodles was a bit too soft for me. We didn’t order other rolls or main dishes as we only stopped by for a quick dinner but believe it was great too.

A misguided attempt to elevate Japanese food when the cuisine and Japanese culture itself is based on simplicity. My "Japanese" style Mediterranean octopus was drowned in teriyaki sauce. This took away from that fresh octopus taste. They definitely do not put teriyaki on grilled octopus in japan. If you order anything... Ask if there is a sauce they put on top. If yes, make sure to have them out that sauce separate on the side. Sushi was average. The Nigiri was topped with some green garnish which really did not elevate the taste -- it was just for looks. Price to quality ratio is not good. I do not see myself returning here anytime soon.

Had a fantastic time here. Delicious food and great service. I tried a few things here and what I fell in love with and recommend is the Vegetarian tempura with shiitake (Темпура зеленчуци с гъби шийтаке) as it was phenomenal. A light and crispy batter, and perfectly seasoned vegetables, it was absolutely delicious. Even though it was fried it did not feel greasy in the slightest and did not feel heavy on the stomach at any point. A close second of my favorites was the Гьоза с говеждо Wagyu (Wagyu beef gyōza). They were so juicy, tender and flavorful. Next time I definitely need to try all of their gyozas because these were absolutely delicious. The one thing that did not particularly suit my taste was the Duck meat SousVide (Патешко бутче, приготвено на ниска температура). I just did not really like the flavor of the sauce. The duck was cooked well but since the flavor didn't suit me I will order something else next time. The Sushi menu (Суши меню) that were got to share for the whole table was also great. Overall, the food was delicious. Next time I will definitely try their ramen, and get more of the tempura and gyozas. The service was very professional. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helped us with our wine selection. There were 2 mishaps that were handled very professionally so it did not leave a bad impression at all. The first is that our wine was forgotten when we got our other drinks. Once reminded the waitress immediately apologized and even gave us an appetizer on the house for the mistake. The 2nd was when we ordered a second serving of gyozas and they never came, it was an error in their system. Honestly it was actually lucky for us because we ordered them after just tasting the 1st ones but after eating the other food we ate we were so full we could not have finished them. The only actual thing that might need improvement is for everyones' food to be delivered at the same time as there was a bit of waiting for some people. 08.2025

An excellent place in terms of atmosphere and interior. The sushi are among the best in the city — definitely worth visiting. The only drawback, perhaps a minor one, is that while you’re sitting inside, there’s no noticeable food smell, but once you leave, you can still feel the scent of food on you. For a restaurant of this level, that probably shouldn’t happen, but it’s just a small remark. Everything else is perfect.

Overall everything was good! The starters were undoubtedly the most amazing dishes. Although calamari-kimchi (Again?!) was too salty, the Aubergine starter (MIS)haps was out of this world. Duck magret was too chewy, the meat wasn't tender, and the skin was like a chewing gum. I didn't like it at all! The dessert (Scheherezade) was good, but not something special.

This restaurant has been on my list for a while and I finally got the chance to go dine there! To start off, the food was extremely good and I loved the creativity and imagination put into the names of the dishes and their presentation! I also liked the calmness of the place. The reason why I am not giving 5 stars is because when my mother asked for a salad without cheese because she is fasting they refused making it without cheese because it “ruined the presentation of the dish”, which made kind of a bad impression. Aside from that, everything was great. As for the prices - they are a little bit high but you definitely get the quality that you are paying for. Finally, I really recommend the restaurant!

Ahora is a restaurant to really treat yourself with. The dishes are bursting with creativity, the service is simply wonderful and a great fine-dining experience overall. As well as a traditional menu, they also have a taster and "Black Box" surprise menu, too. The calamari was the vest that I've ever had, the "deconstructed" cheesecake brie and chocolate was also a great idea. I have to be honest and say that the decor needs improving, but that's being picky. The service was great and the atmosphere is quiet and cozy. Would love to visit again in the future to see the next iteration of the menu.

This is one of the most amazing restaurants with a purely magical atmosphere. The food is extremely delicious, the ingredient combinations are unusual, the texture of the food is always so nice to experience and the taste is exploding. As to the food presentation and plating - I have never seen better looking dishes. Each plate is like a piece of art, so the satisfaction is full and absolute. The menu provides options for all tastes and preferences - salads (with meat or without), starters and main dishes (vegetarian, with fish or meat), unusual soups interpretations and quite unique desserts that will make you smile. The service is really good and corresponds perfectly with the whole atmosphere and level of experience. And the owner Sevda is truly inspiring :) The prices are not low, however what you receive in return is a pure happiness. I really love this place :)

Some of the best looking dishes ever plated. Let's start with the desserts. Chocolate cakes, Moroccan cake, pistachio cream, and more are constructed to look like artwork. You can sense the skills and pride in making the desserts. The main courses utilize high quality ingredients and they are every bit as beautiful as the desserts. The appetizers such as the fried calamari, chicken and salads are all perfectly made and presented. Just look at the photos. Gorgeous! Make a reservation before coming because this restaurant is usually full.

The best meal we had in Sofia! Some dishes were better than others but it was a very positive experience overall.. The dishes we loved were: white asparagus with white chocolate sauce, truffle and parmesan..amazing dish. The duck and tortellini in blueberries and beetroot..was perfectly cooked! Service was very good, we enjoyed a nice bottle of local wine. Totally recommended.

It is art, not a regular restaurant! The food it delicious and interesting. The service is exquisite going into details for each dish served. Extremely clean and wonderful atmosphere. We enjoyed a great dinner with my wife and 8 years old daughter. Curious to visit again and try the rest of the menue.

The food was absolutely delicious, however, there was not something that stood out and left me craving more. Moreover, I did find the prices a bit on the higher side, especially given the menu. Still, the portion sizes of the dishes made it somewhat justified. The service, on the other hand, was top-notch. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect throughout the meal. Their professionalism really enhanced the overall experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy a meal. Whether you’re dining with friends or having a romantic evening, the setting makes it feel special. But the real star of the show was the dessert. I had the cottage cheesecake, and honestly, it was the best I’ve ever had. The texture was flawless, rich yet light, and the flavor was perfectly balanced. It was clear that a lot of care and expertise went into making it. I’d return just for that cheesecake alone! In summary, a great spot for a special night out, though expect to pay a little extra for the experience. Highly recommended a dinner there, especially if you are a foreigner!

Nice restaurant in one of the best neighbourhoods in Sofia - Oborishte! The atmosphere was cozy and the service was on point. The food was delicious and I particularly enjoyed the dessert which was fried bananas with some caramel sauce. Overall I had a good time and a nice experience.

I've been to this restaurant based on a colleague's recommendation. Out of the 10 things they have on the menu, only 2 or 3 were available. Same for beer, only 2 available out of a huge list. Like literally two bottles. Starters were ok and tasted I'd say decent, nothing extraordinary, I ate way better in other places in Sofia. The ribs were one of the worst I've tasted in my entire life, and I eat ribs everywhere I can. Meat was dry, you could barely pull it from the bone. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone, expensive, and for nothing. Maybe it was once great, but not it's a shadow of that past only. The only reason I'm rating the service and atmosphere to a 3 is all the laughs we had every time we were ordering something and the waiter had to tell us they don't have it. Also it was cold inside, we had to wait ALOT for the food, and while I was there I only saw one person from staff, I guess the guy was a jack of all trades. Terrible experience.

I was seared on the street in front. Small table, narrow distance between tables. Food is OK. Nothing special, a bit extravagant combinations, but not bed. Service and food quality can be a bit better. More expensive than average.

I haven’t tasted a better potato cream soup in my life - perfectly seasoned! I loved the option to compose my own salad and the sandwich sincerely exceeded my expectations - soft bread, delicious dressing and quality products overall. The staff were very kind and helpful! They also have a backyard where in the summer I suppose you can chill under the shadow of the surrounding buildings and trees. Prices - fair, location - convenient. I overall recommend this place for breakfast, brunch and why not lunch.

Literally the coziest place right at the city centre. Incredible staff, very kind and always ready to experiment to satisfy every taste. The food is stunning to say at least, absolutely the best burgers in Sofia. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a place to have a lunch with friends or just a chill dinner by yourself. Come try it, i assure you you won’t regret it! P.S really wish i could shoot the whisky sauce burger, but it looked so good i couldn’t wait to try it

Good ambience, good value for money, quite clean, mediocre food. The chicken soup felt very meh, the "flagship" cheeseburger with bacon and whisky sauce felt like a partially improved Big Mac. 4.0 stars is about right

We walked a long way to reach this restaurant at its opening time just to find it closed. ...Since the message on the door confirmed the opening hours during the Summer we waited one more 1/2 hour; to no avail. Not a professional behaviour.

Food was not bad, and the atmosphere was good. However, they lack a full English menu. The English menu they have only contained part of the things they had. For the soups, you had to go to the counter and physically turn the menu board to reveal the English translation.

Solid burgers, solid place. But at the end nothing to rave or tell your grandchildren about. You go there to grab some food in the city, and that is very fine. Try the home made lemonade.

I have been there many times and nitices some bad things, so I can not give 5 stars +people working there are very friendly, know English +good prices +the tastiest burgers in Sofia +personal is very fast. They don't make you wait for your order +place looks nice and is very comfortable -I wanted to buy something like vegetable cookie (I don't know what is real name of this). The woman working there said that there was not any mashrooms, but actually it was a lot. I don't know what is the point of cheating clients. +-fish soup is my favorite, but I they don't always have it. Fist time I tried it - it was awesome, a lot of sea fish, but next time it was not that good, less fish, nothing special

Quite surprising to find this lovely little Mexican restaurant tucked away in Sofia. We got tacos , chicken wings, cheesecake and home made margaritas all of which were delicious! Bobby was a very attentive barman and waiter who kept our drinks full with a smile. Would definitely recommend it if you’re in the area !

I followed the suggestion of the waiter and didn't regret it. Also it was Taco day, so I got a discount. The service was super fast. The only negative part was the day I had the lunch was very hot so it was a bir difficult to eat outside. I would definitely visit again if I go bacak to Sophia.

Not so amazed of the food. Did not have any special taste. I got fajitas for 26bgn and what i received was like 2 peppers, 1/2 onion, few shrimps soaked in soooo much oil. My husband got burrito and said the taste is nothing special. I hope tacos are better. For sure fajita doesn’t worth the money. Beers were fine, Corona like. Desserts were great!

The food was good, a bit heavy for a dinner as all the Mexican dinner, but for lunch or for a bite and a beer its okay. The dishes are exactly Mexican restaurant type. I wish they would serve in the open air terrace as they are only serving inside or the tables near the wall. Besides that the waiter was very nice 🙂👍

In general it’s a cool place! The food is good but the best I tried when talking about Mexican… the service is fantastic! The big issue I have with the place is the atmosphere, no vibe at all, pretty boring for a Mexican restaurant! I expected much more Latino music in a volume that is possible to hear and get in the mood for more maragaritas and tequila shots…

Terrible Experience at Takoteka!!! What a disappointment! I ordered nachos and was served the tiniest bag with just a few chips thrown in and a bit of guacamole for 17 Leva 😡. No cheese, no sour cream, no toppings – nothing. Absolutely bland and unappetizing. On top of that, the service was rude and careless. Honestly, it felt like they couldn’t be bothered. Definitely not worth the money, nor the time. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The quality is not the same as before, and I’m quite disappointed. The guacamole was a very small portion, and the birria burrito didn’t look good, although it tasted fine. The tacos were overly greasy, with burnt and dry meat. It’s a shame, because it used to be delicious.

Always a pleasure to stop by for a delightful cappuccino or espresso shot at Chucky’s. Super friendly attitude, classy chill atmosphere and dog friendly. Of course, one of the best espressos in town.

Nice little neighbourhood coffee store that really takes care in the quality of the coffee. I had an ice Cappuccino here and it was delicious. It gets quite busy as there is not much seating space but they also do takeaway. People spoke English & the except credit or debit cards

Very nice banitsas, pastries, coffee, and choice groceries. Great cosy atmosphere inside, great playlist. Would recommend sitting at the long communal table by the big windows facing the street. Recommended menu: lamb banitsa, cheese and leek banitsa, the apple strudel banitsa is especially amazing, coffee, various baked goods that changes from day to day.

Decent local bakery with brunch/lunch menu. Big variety of sweet and salty things. Great coffee. It is quite expensive, a piece of banitza is 5+ BGN now. Also, all of the packed food is bio, variety of bio vegetables and fruits. Early in the morning is good for work there. During warm weather only the pigeons are very annoying and arrogant! Usually the staff is awesome but sometimes they are really really slow.

The staff is nice, the food is delicious and has many vegan and vegetarian options, as well as gluten free and sugar free goods. The beverages variety is rich and tasteful. The only downside is that it is a bit pricy but due to the location and organic food, it is reasonable. After all it is a diner-like shop. Would recommend if price isn’t an issue.

I enjoyed the hummus bowl with meat patties. However I regret not ordering a plate. I was expecting more from a bowl. The meat was a bit more spicy than I am used to. Nevertheless it didn't hurt my stomach. So that's a good sign. The service person was super nice, very easy to öder as a tourist. I even got complimentary fries. The atmosphere was like a take away fast food restaurant with a few tables.

This was a lovely little Mediterranean spot that I came to for a quick lunch one weekday while I was visiting Sofia. The chicken and hummus plate that I ordered tasted fresh, had decent portions, and was priced well. The mint iced tea was tasty as well. I would come back here to try some other items on the menu.

The place is quite small, so there are no seats at lunchtime. But they have a classic pita with falafel, so you can take it with you as street food, which is what it actually is. If you take it to a cafe, it is brought on a plate, the portion is a little bigger and a little more expensive. Falafel is wonderful with a thin crispy crust and tender filling inside. For meat lovers, there is almost the same thing, only with chicken or beef patties.

A great spot for hummus in the heart of Sofia. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff is just as welcoming. It’s a solid choice for hummus lovers, vegans, vegetarians, and those who are fasting, but there are also meat options, so everyone can find something they like. I tried the falafel sandwich (pictured) and really enjoyed it!

The food is good. Order came in 2 minutes in the morning. Service and atmosphere comfortable. I must admit i have eaten a better hummus in other countries, but i will definitely get back to this place again as they have high variety of options and making it with heart.

Their falafels are great, the hummus is much better than the last time I tried it some time ago, I just feel like when I saw there’d be aubergine in the shakshuka bowl, there was only a single thin slice almost for decoration

Found out about Mangia Station in an article about the best street food in Sofia because me and my partner wanted to try something new and delicious, of course. I am so happy we chose this amazing place because first we were reading the whole menu and wanted to get everything and then the awesome guys greeted us and welcomed us to get a look at how the products look so that we can choose easier. They were so nice to us and I rate their service 10/10. When the service is good, the food tastes so much better. And the food there... delicious, indeed. I grabbed the seasonal veggie burger and my partner got a beef burrito. He said that this is his favourite burrito he has ever eaten and for me, well, I was very surprised, in a good way. The burger was so fresh and juicy. Can't wait to try the tacos! 🌞

Average to below average. The fries tasted frozen, they probably don't see much use. But the biggest offender was the burger which meat was shockingly salty. Not sure how or why, but it's the saltiest burger patty I've had in a while. Food aside, the location is devoid of any appeal to eat there. Huge loud street, a trash bin in front... Generally not great.

As a Mexican… if I could give more stars I definitely would. The food is delicious. Burritos are not as broadly consumed in Mexico, however the flavor IS 100% there. I appreciate them making blue tortitas, the taste of the frijoles refritos, salsas and specially the “pollo jugoso” is very good. I believe the price is fair and portions are good. Most importantly they managed to serve the kindness and warmth of Mexican cuisine. after I mentioned I am from Mexico they offered complementary salsas so me and my boyfriend could taste and give them feedback. This is the feedback, thanks for making my culture proud not only with the flavor but with your actions.

I ordered bacon and melted cheese burrito which was like 350g, from which I swear like 250g was just plain white beans. It had no flavor whatsoever. I had also taco trio from which only the one with beef was ok. Not great not bad but just ok. The one with pork was quite dry and the one with beans once again no flavor, just beans and a little bit of guacamole on top. I had no satisfaction from this meal at all. *editing because I forgot to mention I got a combo with brownie that turned out to be like 20g :) They should either put the real size photo of it on the site or mention the size in the description. It’s not like I expected a whole big piece of cake but I’m sorry, what I got is a joke :)

One of the best tacos outside of Mexico I have eaten. Two vegan options available however they can change the veggi options to vegan too. Every ingredient was incredible with such flavoursome taste. Very generous portions for the fillings. Hot sauce was incredible too. So spicy just the way I like it. Highly recommend

A bustling market where you can buy fruits, vegetables, honey and other food and handmade products. It has the typical eastern-european-market vibe and it therefore serves as a pretty interesting tourist location as well.

It's is a lovely market but it could do with a little bit of a revamp and a clean. I Know!!! It's a market, but I have seen other markets I'm my life. It's an interesting market, it is mostly food, vegetables, fruits and herbs, some other things found as well but mostly food. It is a Mostly in a built area so you are protected from the element and that's great. From start to finish with a few stops I woisay it took us 40 minutes so a very good landmark while doing sightseeing in Sopia. This is by no means a "Must-go", but it was lovely to see.

On this Women's market, near the end, you will see this little wine shop. We had some glass of red and my other friends had white and we all had some charcuterie. Lovely lady was very warm and she sells rose scented lotion and other stuff too

The market is a really lively place, with a huge variety of products — from fruits and vegetables to household items and souvenirs. It’s a great spot to soak up local life and see the hustle and bustle. That said, you need to keep a close eye and be selective. The range is wide, but quality can be hit or miss. For example, I bought a bucket of strawberries that looked beautiful on top but, unfortunately, were spoiled underneath. Even so, it’s a worthwhile experience for anyone looking for better prices and a dive into popular culture.

You can find fresh fruits there with much cheaper than lidl. However, be careful with what they pick for you, some merchants may pick bad fruits although what you ser from your side is good.

A local market, but the prices are higher than a regular supermarket. It’s better to buy from a supermarket where the prices are guaranteed.

Good place for Streetfood Burgers in a posh Area. I got the Hellburger with fries and Zero Coke. Burger was very Tasty but also small, feeled still hungry after the Experience. Staff was pleasant and speaks English which is a good place 4 visitors and Expats. Still on da size of da Burger needs improvement

Will write in English. I could do the same in Bulgarian but will have to include the expletives. And sadly cannot give minus stars for service. Table for four, we wanted to get the usual duners plus some falafel. Lady at the register said they don’t have falafel but we could get some at their other place a couple of hundred feet up the street. Which we did. Sat down and started enjoying the food when an Arab guy (worker, manager, a wannabe manager, a wannabe In general in life) came out and started screaming that we cannot do that. Well, I didn’t hold back. He went back in after a couple of minutes screaming match but our evening was ruined. Went up to him after we finished and told him that he cannot be yelling at customers and can shovel the duner and the falafel they don’t have (but should) up where the sun doesn’t shine. He exchanged a few words with another man hanging out at the place and I approached that man (obviously some sort of boss) and we had a conversation. He apologized sort of but it didn’t matter. Don’t bother with those people, you can spend your money at many other places in Sofia.

Food ( duner) is horrible , dripping oil all over , mostly fries without any meat ( at this location) and the staff are rude and absolutely disgusting ( yelling in front of all the customers) , place is really nasty dispute they have a nice sitting area we won’t come back

Decent, but nothing special. Right on the main mall of Sofia, Edo has a nice “outdoor” area in the mall which can be closed up with heaters as well so you don’t get cold. Dumplings were cold and a bit undercooked so wasn’t the best start. The sushi was nice and we enjoyed the Bulgarian twist of cream cheese in there. The chicken teriyaki wasn’t really the teriyaki I’m used to. It was fine but not amazing. Expensive by Sofia standards.

Affordable sushi of a dencent standard. I took tempura mix and tuna maki. The portions are quite generous and everything was fresh. The rice was OK, but nit the best I have tried. The menu is quite extensive with various sushi and cooked dishes.

The food is great even though a bit pricey. The staff is very friendly, but some of the servers are very pretencious and it makes you feel unwelcome to the venue.

Very central and easy to get to. Had teppanyaki and sushi. Teppanyaki chef was great and portion sizes were sufficient. Service was friendly but below par - very slow and they forgot half of our order, despite it not being that busy. I was disappointed by the Japanese tea because it was very weak, tasted like just hot water and there was no colour to it. Overall, teppanyaki was a good experience but would probably not visit again.

Really good sushi in central Sofia, other branches of same restaurants (zero) have rather variable quality, but this one is good.

Overrated! Atmosphere is very good but everything else is moderate. I disliked the sushi - avocado was dark, shrimps were falling of the sushi, it wasn't fresh! Noodles salad was tasteless! I won't visit again!

This coffee shop was right by my airbnb whilst staying in Sofia. First up the staff speak English and are very friendly. Importantly the coffee is really good. Nice to have a coffee and sit inside or on the outside seating. Pastries are really good as well.

5 star coffee!!! The host was so lovely I was the first customer at around 6 am she made the best coffee for me. 100% recommend them

Great espresso in the center of Sofia. The restaurant is Greek, which is why they give water as a gift with every coffee. The service is nice and fast, with attention to detail so they maintain the quality of service they offer. They also have a variety of sandwiches and croissants, as well as typical Greek desserts. It was crowded on a Saturday morning, but it was pretty clean.

Lovely modern coffee shop. Excellent espresso machine, needs to be cleaned twice a day. Needs more tables and better service. Still good but still a little stiff. People still using the street coffee machine across the street tells you. This store could be better. Maybe cheap small filtered coffee the price of the machine. My table at 0705 was sticky in dpots. Summary good but could improve.

The coffee latte was the best I've had in weeks. Soft and perfectly milky. The sandwiches were tasty and big, we were full by the end of eating them. The staff was also really friendly, we even got a water to the coffees for free and they asked as several times if everything was okay. If you are around the area, definitely visit this place! :)

Good coffee and love the fact they would give you a small bottle of water included in the price. Service was a bit dodgy though..we sat outside and waited for the coffees but took a bit longer than we expected and I went inside to check what's going on and I saw the girl making the coffees making orders that were taken after ours 😳🤔but the cashier realised I think and she gave her our order to be made first hmmm so if I didn't go in we would have waited for probably half an hour for two coffees. It's very disappointing when you see that happening. It's not a rocket science. Take an order-prepare it in the the same order you have taken it. Other than that coffee was good.

I came here after reading the reviews. I had the Margarita croissant which had a tomato filling. It was tasty. It was busy during lunch. There’s no place to sit down inside. They sell a variety of breads and pastries.

This is the third time I come to this bakery. I tried the cheese pastry and croissants this time and they were super delicious. Some of the products sometimes are a bit dry, but overall the food is delicious and it’s a convenient location.

I had been eyeing this place for a while and finally got to try it. I got a savoury (spinach and cheese) and a sweet (cherry) pastries. The variety is quite good but the flavour and the quality of the pastry is quite similar to any cheap supermarket variety. Sad, really! I can taste anything else but butter in a pastry that should have been made with butter. The aftertaste is not pleasant, especially the one left after the sweet pastry. Sadly the price did not reflect the quality I was expecting. Will continue my quest for good pastries in Sofia.

Lady doesn't speak English, but she was amazing as it was simple to order, just by pointing to the board, the cashier/employee a nice lady, we were tourists and she corrected how to say Bulgarian words which is amazing out of her. Moving along to the food, absolute delight! Food was just perfect, we only grabbed a 100g chocolate and it brightened our day, 2 people by 100g chocolate roll, Atmosphere also very charming, also an option to sit inside in the warmth or outside, while still giving a very cozy vibe as everything is made out of wood. The big question, would I recommend this place? Absolutely! Please visit. Just keep in mind that they can close at 19:00 or 17:30, I don't speak Bulgarian so I'm not sure at what days, but for tourist, absolutely amazing.

Our favorite place in Sofia. The lady who bakes is lovely and very friendly. In addition to the cake, you can buy herbs to prepare the infusion.

Disappointed. We tried this twice because we really love chimney cakes and really hoped the second visit might be better. The chimney cake was overdone both times. Both visits, the woman seemed annoyed with us for speaking English. She was definitely annoyed with us for using the card. The second visit, the chimney cake was so burnt, there was smoke in the air and the cake was dark brown and hard. She served it anyway. This was very disappointing. We thought it would be good which is why we gave it another try. The overall reviews were good. The decor is nice. We love chimney cakes and this is very close to where we stay when we visit the city. We really wanted this to be a favorite place in the city for dessert. Too bad it wasn't very good two times. I hope we can find another place.

Good place to Bulgarian wine testing. There are two options for tasting; three or five different local wines. While they are serving they make small explanations about the wine and its region. We ordered bread and cheese plate qs well. They were all good.

Wine bar with very professional and trained staff. Wide selection of Bulgarian wines from all over the country. They served us fresh wine which was very good, after which we asked if we could taste the same red wines even at room temperature to suit our tastes and we were kindly granted. Pleasant conversation about wines and kindness conclude the pleasant experience. We will be back soon!

Good place to come to try some Bulgarian wine! For 14 lev, I had 3 red tastings of some of Bulgarian top wines - they were generous pours too. It came with complimentary bread as well. The staff were friendly.
